    Just signed up and filed an Air Conditioner claim. They denied claim, shifted positions two times. First said they saw rust in the picture then once we got two expert opinions disputing the findings, they said it was pre-existing. We made proof showing the unit was serviced 48 hours prior and was working in good condition. They refused to listen. Both experts claimed the part went bad and just needed replacing. They lied during the sales process of signing up. They are very shady and I steer clear.

    I have rated this AC repair issue 5 star because everything about it was incredibly good! When I called the repair problem in the person on the phone treated us as important and they immediately got me a service person that I called to set it up. It was immediate. The company that they chose to do the repairs were more than polite. They were very quick to respond to our issue. When the service man came he appeared to be very knowledgeable and was here and gone within 20 minutes. He was able to fix one of the problems and thought it would fix both problems, but they had to return to fix the second problem and they were extremely professional. Fix it within just a few minutes and I could not possibly be happier! We love Choice Warranty, and firmly believe that they are the #1 choice for home coverage.

    Buyer beware. After experiencing improper cooling of our air conditioner, a contracted technician was assigned and diagnosed the problem of our unit properly. The technician recorded that the evaporator coils were leaking. In an effort to avoid paying for the repair Choice Home Warranty quickly asserted their own unprofessional opinion while disregarding the verifiable documented results from the technician concerning the nature of the failure even after pointing it out that our copy confirmed it. My brother who is a licensed heating and air conditioning technician with 30 years' experience was visiting at the time and confirmed that the findings of the technician were accurate. It was now confirmed by two professional technicians that our evaporator coils did not rust because they are made of copper but they insisted otherwise just because rust was found on the plate cover which does not make contact with the coils.

    After arguing with them to no avail we re-read the contract and found more exclusions of coverage than what was actually insured. We then realized that the sales representatives mislead us concerning coverage although the aforementioned lie was employed instead of the misrepresentation of coverage in this case. Because Choice Home Warranty had covered a couple of very inexpensive repairs in the past we clearly did not recognize the type of collusion practices used in cases when a repair cost exceeds the cost of the premium. Fabricating results of a failure to get out of paying is illegal and unethical.

    We warned a family member that we had recommended them to previous to this experience about their unethical practice and learned that they did the same thing to them. They too threatened to report them to the Better Business Bureau so they offered them some “hush money” to avoid getting a bad rating. Maybe this is why higher than deserved ratings are listed on social media. We wonder if there have been other victims they have paid off to keep quiet? We typically rely on ratings of businesses when shopping for services but in this case being scammed was unavoidable. If it were possible I would give them a zero rating but that is not allowed so will have to settle with the lowest possible.

    The technician from Advanced Power came to my home. I don't remember the exact date but it was around 8/18/17. I had difficulty understanding him due to his heavy accent but he showed me the co. name on his shirt. He was very polite and I would consider him to be very efficient.     We had our garage door stop working on a Friday afternoon. We called the 800 number and was told we would receive an acceptance by email. The acceptance was received within twenty minutes. I contacted the service company and they informed me that they would be at my home the next morning by 10:30 AM. They arrived on time and found out the power unit had to replaced.     I paid $330 and purchased a Choice Home Warranty in May 2017 this year, because they promised me Heaven and Earth before they got my money. I had 3 complains for small issues with my ac, garage door opener and one more which I don't remember, but I fixed them through a friend of mine before the contractor arrived, and called and canceled the appointment before the appointment date, and when I wanted to cancel the contract after 1 month, I had to keep on calling 3 to 5 times a day they put you on hold and no one answers the phone until you get disgusted and cut off. Sometimes a representative will answer and say the contract is canceled and you will receive a check of $189.00 but it never comes, and you have to keep calling and no one picks up.

    They give you such a hard time and reduce 40% of your money. I had to keep calling more than 10 times, when a manager picked up from the Cancellation Department, and I asked him why they were giving the customer such a hard time when we need to cancel the contract as we were not satisfied with their service and told him that I was going to give a bad review on Facebook, that he promised to refund my Money $189.00 in 2 days, after 1 month with no claims. After having paid 330, to their catch and promises, I advice all the public not to get caught to these scammers with your hard earned money as they rip you off your money. They are all **.

    After struggling for weeks to get this repair done and then the difficulty settling the payment makes me a bit skeptical as to whether or not to continue my CHW . I am satisfied with the outcome but wonder if this problem was just a one time occurrence or a way of doing business that will occur again.

    It has been my experience that the business model of Choice Home Warranty is based upon soliciting and contracting with local repair companies that are willing, and/or are desperate enough, to take a much lower rate of payment for their work than is customary. This practice in and of itself would not seem to promote either skillful or quality work.

    My experience with this practice was that nobody in my area would work under this arrangement. This is a highly populated wealthy area with scores of repair businesses. I tried for 3 weeks but nobody would respond, that Choice had assigned. Next a reimbursement form was provided. I found a repair company on my own, had them do the work, and submitted the form as instructed with full documentation and patiently waited 34 days for it to be processed.

    The repair bill was for $430.72 but I was only paid $155.00. After several phone calls I was told that the, “capacitor” that was needed for my repair, was only allowed to cost $155.00. Really? No mention at all as to the remaining $275.72, the “capacitor” not withstanding, that I ended up paying. I tried to get an explanation but saw that the conversation was going nowhere. The rep I spoke with seemed annoyed and disinterested in my concerns. In my struggle of 22 days to get someone to come for the repair I was told by a Choice rep that the $75.00 deductible would be waived and that I would get a free month's premium. I plan to share my experience as far and as widely as I can, on social media. Social media is the business I am in!

    I purchased Choice Home Warranty when I purchased my home in 2015. The home was an older home and I felt reassured because I knew the previous owners were very meticulous about the home and made sure things were kept up with as the manufacturer suggests and I also had a “home warranty”. In June 2017 I filed a claim in reference to my dishwasher not working, tripping the breaker and having a burning smell. I called and filed a claim. A technician responded and said it was the motor. CHW advised the dishwasher had a recall and they WOULD NOT have it repaired. They gave me a copy of the recall. It was from 1992. I contacted Sears and they advised they did not have the recall in their system and therefore it was not under a recall. CHW and Sears would not do anything, leaving me to have to purchase a new dishwasher myself.

    Today, Aug 18, 2017, I contacted CHW about my air conditioner unit not working. I also advised them I had a local repair service come out over the weekend and they advised me that the unit was bad after a repair did not correct the problem. They said I could use him by getting a prior authorization. They advised I would have to pay him upfront and then I would be reimbursed. I contacted the repair service and advised him. He contacted CHW. They did not tell him whether or not it was approved. I called back and they advised me that it was NOT approved because it was a failure due to lack of maintenance.

    I contacted the service guy and he stated he never told them it wasn’t maintenance. In fact he remembered doing maintenance on it when the previous owners, owned the house. I contacted CHW and spoke with LaShawda (# **). She stated again it was due to lack of maintenance BUT, they would give me $300 as a “Good Will Gesture”. I advised her they were lying about the maintenance to get out of having to replace my unit. She stated she was not and that if my unit was maintenance properly then the part would not have overheated and gone out. I advised her that I would seek legal action because it had been and they were trying to get out of paying. She said ok and the $300 offer was still there.

    This company is telling me that the compressor going out is because the unit was not "maintenance". When I told them the service tech remembered doing maintenance on it when the previous owners owned the house they said unless he has proof he is lying. I advised them he worked for a different company at the time. They told me again it was not covered and they were not paying but $300 to replace the unit as a "Good Will Gesture". This company has scammed me by saying a compressor never goes out unless it is properly maintenance. They find any reason not to cover when an item needs to be replaced.

    Choice Home Warranty is a horrible company with so much fine lines. I have been experiencing a water leak since December 2016. A service technician came out to my home to diagnose the problem as being an faucet issue. So, I replaced the faucet... still have a leak. Reach out to Choice Warranty again specifying the leak is behind the wall. THEY ASSIGNED ANOTHER COMPANY TO COME OUT BUT WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE for the fee TO ACCESS THE WALL. Really but the claim info... is clear and wasn't inform until someone came out.

    To make a long story short the company Blue Frog just was at my house on August 18, 2017... diagnose the problem that's been happening since December which was an inaccurate finding from previous. This leak has ruined my bass boards in my bath and also have to cut out some of my crown moulding in my kitchen. Be advise this leak was massive coming from my upper level. Not a faucet. CHW is giving me a stage line. I will be so glad when this get resolve seeking an attorney... just too much. PLEASE STAY AWAY!!! SAVE YOU A HEADACHE.

    From the moment we had to submit our first claim for our refrigerator Choice has been difficult. They are constantly pulling points out of the agreement in an attempt not to pay. Over the past 18-months we've had to submit three claims and they contest each one. In addition to being very difficult, from a customer service perspective you're going to have to wait on hold forever before you can even speak to a rep (and once you speak with them you'll have to be called back to speak to their "supervisor").

    They are absolutely a bait and switch organization. I have never written a review in my life, ever - but felt compelled to do so in this instance. They are truly a very deceptive organization. Hopefully you can learn from my mistake and do not do business with them. I work with two people who also have Choice that have had the same exact problems with them.

    The last 3 times I have called the problems weren't covered. A Leak from the kitchen sink, the shower cutoff and AC thermostat.     AC went out, CHW got a contractor assigned quickly but the contractor, called Devoted Care, dropped the ball from there. Devoted Care promised to give me a scheduled time frame by that evening, never did. Got the time frame the next day for 1-4pm arrival. At 3:15, asked contractor to confirm they will arrive by 4. They said they were "behind schedule" but would still show up. Around 6pm I called them to get a status, they said it may 8pm or later or maybe the next morning. They made a bunch of excuses for the delays, but it was clear they accepted my work order even though they were already overbooked.

    Finally got service the next morning, AC back on. Bottom line is we went two days and two nights without AC, and inside temps reached 93 degrees F. I have three kids, the youngest only 15 months. It was a very unpleasant experience from start to finish. I really hope CHW will reconsider using this contractor. I don't want the same thing to happen to anyone else.

    If there was a way to give them 0 stars, I would have. They are easily the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Our A/C broke this summer in the 120 F Arizona heat. I call these guys, they said they cannot send anyone out until 10 days after. They said I could call a technician of my choice, and they would reimburse the service charge he would charge me. Called them a month later, they flat out denied they would do any such thing. They also denied my claim, without an explanation as to why. I ended up having to buy a new unit.

    Being thoroughly dissatisfied with them, I called them to cancel my policy. I got this guy, Luis, who was downright rude. They gave a pittance back as a refund, and once again was unable to give me an explanation as to how he came up with the numbers, other than "That's the rate". I don't think I have dealt with CSRs who are this rude, ever, anywhere. Do not waste your money or time on this company for these reasons:

    1) Their coverage is extremely limited, and has several exclusions.
    2) They will go out of their way to deny your claim.
    3) They have no interest in customer satisfaction or service.

    4) Extremely rude Agents, CSRs.

Techs say they don't have diagram for Trane, waiting on FAX. I never hired these guys yet they want me to keep track of the guy saying, "You can call them. We can't reach them." Very tacky customer support. Friends say AHS is better and covers more. Will update.

I will say I did not like the first plumbing company they had me call. They told me that home warranties only pay for the service call and no parts whatsoever. This distressed me to no end. But finally I called Choice back and requested a different plumbing company.     Basically, they make an excuse to not pay for anything. I made several claims and 1st my air and heating were not working and they paid the $69.00 to fix the heating and said the air conditioning was a secondary condition to the heating problem so they would not pay for the repair, even when the technician said it was not. I had a plumbing claim and they would not pay for the repair because a piece of plumbing was missing and they would not pay if a piece was missing. I made a claim on my washing machine and they said they did not pay for the repair of the rubber ring around the opening. They sent out Sears repair service and I had to pay the full price of the repair. Every repair person told me they would deny the claims. They all said it was very hard to get Choice Home Warranty to pay for anything.

    I asked for information about their service. I requested email information. They called - at 10am in the morning - the first time I asked them to call back after my business hours at 6pm.     I have three homes and three policies with Choice Home Warranties. Six months after signing up with Choice, I had a refrigerator to start leaking, I called and reported it. It took two weeks to come out to look at it, the technician finally came out and said refrigerator needs to be replaced. Choice tried to get out of covering it, they said that it was a previous problem, but in reality, it was not. I have tenants in the home and have been there for 7 years, with no refrigerator problems. I called my Attorney, about a week later, I was called and told that I should get a check in the mail to replace the refrigerator. About 2 months later, the stove went out in another property, they said they can't cover it because of rust and no serial # found. They refuse to cover it.     Choice Warranty has a great online claim system and follow up Customer Service. It makes entering and keeping track of a claim easy online and via email. The service is quick and friendly.     When some of my buttons on the control panel of my microwave stopped working, I contacted Choice Home Warranty by email. Within a few minutes I received a confirmation email of my concern. I received a phone call the next day telling me the name of the appliance company that would contact me, that day or the next. I received a call from the appliance company about an hour later that set up an appointment for the next day.

    The polite, friendly and professional tech arrived on time and in about 10 minutes determined that I needed a new board. He said he would contact CHW and have them send the part. Five days later it arrived (Friday) and scheduled an appointment for the following Monday, the tech showed up on time and in about 5 minutes he had everything working. He also told me I had a 30 day warranty on the part... with no additional cost to me. I couldn't be happier with the efficiency and quality of service which I received from CHW.

    Well on August the 11 I got home and it was hot in the house so I went outside to check the AC. I know a little about AC. I saw the problem so I called CHW. I told them about it. They wrote it up and gave me an order number. The next day they had someone out there to fix it between 10 am and 1 pm, but you know what? They came BEFORE THE TIME THEY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE. THANKS.

    The team at Choice sent a reputable repairman to my home to inspect and diagnose issues in my oven.     I am very pleased with Choice Home Warranty. When I signed up I was skeptical because I have used Sears and HoMT. I was very upset with the service. It was terrible. The contractors were idiots. Took weeks to get anything fixed and then it was not fixed correctly so they had to come back wasting my time and money from work. But not Choice. The contractors were very fast, knowledgeable and very kind. The day I called Choice had Angel AC/Heating and Repair company call me within 1 hr and the tech said they could come out in the afternoon. I said "Yes of course". In Texas 100 degrees. We need air.

    They were very prompt and kind. Took their time. Told me the problem. Stated they needed to order a part and would be back to my home in 1-2 days when the part comes in. Within 20 hrs he came with the part. Headed Back to my house. Within 24 hrs my AC was working again. I love Angel AC/Heating and Choice kept the word when I signed up. The representative told me I would be very happy with Choice. I had explained my experience to him in the past about home Warranty companies. I am telling all my friends and family about Choice.     On 6-26-2017 I called CHW about my washer. It would not spin."At Your Service Appliance Repair" handled my claim. The service man came the following day. He was very nice, polite, and friendly. After checking out my washer, he informed me that the motor was gone and there was not a motor to order because those motors were no longer made. CHW called the next day and said I would be sent a check. The check arrived and I shopped for a washer. I found a wonderful GE washer. Because of the check from CHW, I had a very small balance to pay on the machine.     After being a long time customer I was in need of service on my A/C. The tech came out and reviewed the unit, determine what he needed to do and expressed he was impressed with how clean and well maintained our unit was. We said everything looked to be in order and he would submit for the repair parts. Never dreaming there would be an issue.

    After almost 3-days of no A/C in the Texas heat I HAD TO CALL AND CHECK in. The agent said there was no answer yet. The next morning they called with a recording to call them back for info on my claim. I did and after waiting another 30-minutes on hold I was told that due to the coil being compacted they were denying the claim, HA. I have in writing from the tech that the coil is 90% clean, the condenser is in near perfect condition.

    He tried to call them and was told he could not comment on the matter and they never said it was dirty. SO who lying??? I see there is pending claim or legal claims that they have requested customer post positive reviews in lieu of money. Buyer beware. I have submitted a dispute and have yet to hear anything back from anyone. We had a second option and repaired the unit on our own... I want the cost back for my service fee and the repair back. It is was is just and right.

    On 8/3/2017 our garbage disposal quit working. I filed a claim and immediately received a phone call and received an email with a plumber's name and phone number. I called the number and left a message. First thing the next morning the plumber called and was here within the hour and on time.     My dishwasher broke. CHW had a service company there the next day. The repair company said both chip boards went bad and they would report it to CHW. I got an email the next morning from CHW explaining they were giving me money for new unit. The only bad thing is they make you wait 30 days to process the claim which is horrible. There is NO reason it should take that long. Other than that everything went smooth.

    I have been with Choice Home Warranty for 3 years now. In that three years I believe I have made 3 claims. None of those were accepted. They have an excuse for everything. My A/C is about 9 or 10 years old, and when I was checking into warranty companies, this one told me that the main reason people buy these warranties is because, as appliances get older, they need repairs. The only reason I have stayed with this company, is that the salesperson said it would be a little cheaper, and he would give me "FREE" months if I would pay the policy in full for three years.

    Now I am locked in with a company that even the companies that work with them will tell you that they are one of the worst home warranty co. that they have ever worked with. Be very careful when choosing a home warranty service, as they will tell you lies to get your money and you can never talk to that salesperson again! They are very good at what they do to get you to sign and pay! I would advise anyone looking for a home warranty not to listen to anything anyone tells you and read the contract carefully. I have paid the service fee for technicians to come and check the issue, tell me it isn't covered, collect the fee, and then there you go. This is the worst warranty company I have ever used!

    I do not recommend Choice Home Warranty. Do not buy a home warranty through them. They are continuing to argue coverage with me when I have provided the documentation to show the hot water heater was working at the time the warranty was purchased. Keep bringing me back to a clause in the contract that even they can't explain how it excludes coverage for this loss. Why do they think I can't read a freaking warranty contract?     Bubbling of toilet when washer empties - Waiting for approval of Choice Home Warranty to ok the replace a DECADE (OLD) pipe of the sewer line. If this is ok'ed then I will be happy, but if not... I cannot afford to have this done. I asked if this happens would Choice handle it. I was told by a Choice rep that they would pay for it all. The gentleman from Integrity Plumbing was very kind and informative. I would recommend him to anyone.
