    There was an initial diagnosis that was incorrect. He did reach out to the insurance company and through their normal ** denied the claim which was more than likely the key issue in all of this debacle. They were willing to come meet me to go over the situation from the technician's perspective. However, the warranty company has a ton of issues. It amazes me how corrupt they really are.

    I will be canceling my renewal that is already paid for because I thought they would live up to their advertising. As a consumer, I should not have to be the go between a sub that is used by you. My contract is with you and not your representatives. If there is an issue, it is yours and not to be passed onto the sub and then instructed that I should go after their insurance. This will come back around and I hope that the veil of the best in the business comes down and exposes your company from what it truly is. Shame on me for not looking into your company deeper before I signed up.

    On 8/26 I submitted a claim on refrigerator. Sears Home Services was assigned. Sears set an appointment for over a week. They sent me at least three email reminders on appointment time and date. 9/7 between 10-2. I traveled from Florida to Auburn to meet the tech. At 2:45 nobody has shown up. There was no phone # so I was able to use a “Chat” to see what was going on. They told me due to an emergency the appointment was rescheduled on 9/13 between 8:00 - 5:00. So Sears never called, texted or sent an email advising what was going on. So 7 hours of drive time there and back was wasted. CHW has reassigned the claim. Very disappointed with the service.

    Creating a claim is easy as well as receiving a response. The contractor you receive is a hit and miss. Sometimes the technician is outstanding and sometimes they are the worse.     I would give less than one star if possible - WORST service ever and false promises. My water heater broke in April. We submitted a claim - Choice sent over a technician to repair (even after two technicians recommended replacement). Unit was temporarily fixed. It broke again in July, he repaired again. Broke again in August and Choice reassigned it to him because it broke within a month. Choice said that I do not need to pay service fee BUT the technician said he would not repair unless I paid the fee. Tired of not having hot water, I paid the technician $300 out of pocket for parts and service.

    Choice is now refusing to refund the money. This is a classic case of customer getting cheated as a result of technician negligence and the home warranty company's policies. I have called Choice several times in the past one week - their customer service is one of the worst. Despite several requests to assign a case manager or speak with a supervisor, no one called or even responded via email. I feel cheated and underserved. I would like to warn other customers.

    Called Choice on Wednesday, before Labor Day weekend, when I came home and my a/c was not working at all. 86° in my house. By that evening I knew who was coming and when. They arrived Friday, as promised and on time. Discovered it was the blower motor, which they did not have. Said they would try to get Choice to approve the motor needed and they'd be back.     I have two bathrooms in my home and am covered by the unlimited plan that I purchased in full at the time I bought my home. I had the toilet backing up in both my showers therefore could not flush or shower at this time when I submitted my claim on September 5,2021. I was told by your associate that It may take 24 to 48 hours to get a tech. to my home. The tech. is dispatched to my home 24 hours later and alerts me that he does not see the main line to snake the pipe that it is located underground. He then submitted claim and was denied immediately, so I called and spoke with one of your associates and was informed it could take up to two hours for me to receive an email to dispute the claim, keep in mind it is now 3pm and I am 24 or more hours into not being able to use toilets and showers!

    I send emails and requested to speak with a supervisor and got could not get an immediate response, in a situation like this it to me is very important to get a resolution! How is it Tech gets immediate response but me as a consumer have to wait hours if not days and it forces me to live in unsanitary conditions until resolved! I was trying to request that if I paid labor to find pipe location can you as the company that I paid for cover the service of unclogging my main pipe as in contract. Again no response, so in order for my self and my daughter to shower and use our toilets I was forced to pay out of pocket. If this is how you conduct business I will at end of contract seek another warranty company to spend my money with!

    I called concerning a problem with my microwave. I was told it would be 11 days before someone could come out. I managed to get an appointment 5 days sooner. The technician told me a part would have to be ordered and someone would return on the 24th to install it. My microwave is 14 years old and could be replaced for about the same price as is being spent to repair it. At this rate I will be without my microwave for three and a half weeks. I also ask to speak to a supervisor and was told someone would call within 24 hours. It has now been a week and still no phone call. After this experience I certainly can't recommend this company.

    Last year I switched from American Home Shield to Choice Warranty, because AHS did not fix my refrigerator which was under LG warranty. AHS would not pay for the labor to install the LG parts. Choice agreed to do it after substantial argument and my threat to cancel the policy. A second request was to fix leaking faucets. CHW does not fix external faucets. A shower faucet was fixed. 2 exterior faucets were not. I had an upstairs toilet leaking and since it happened after the deep freeze in San Antonio, CHW claimed it was due to the freezing temperatures. The leak was in the wax seal of the drain. Not a water line. After discussion, the toilet was repaired.

    The last request was my AC. I was told the failure was due to a power surge. I decided to install new AC systems. The technicians that are quoting the new system told me that it is not possible for a power surge to only affect one system. In addition, the CHW technician claimed the wires were burnt. Those providing quotes showed me the wires, and they are not burnt. Apparently the real problem is that the compressor of the 22 year old Goodman AC system gave out. I now know that it is practically impossible to procure compressors for the old refrigerant which is no longer allowed to be used in new systems. I paid almost $2,000 for 40 months of CHW protection in November 2020. If I cancel my policy today I was offered $500 as reimbursement. My decision. Stay away from home warranty companies. Put your money away and create your own self insurance. It is not worth the fights which in the long run affect your health.

    CHW is a RIP OFF! Before purchasing this policy I spoke to the customer service rep who assured me they repair or replace. My air conditioning system is kaput. They emailed me they will not replace it because it doesn’t fall under their guidelines to replace it. They absolutely will not give me any help credit wise at all. So after paying for this policy for three years I’m told I get nothing. They won’t even cover the labor or some of the parts. It’s just all or nothing and I get nothing. CANNOT RECOMMEND CHW!

    During the past three years I requested service maybe three times and was very disappointed with the lack of service and compensation for replacement items. Microwave oven went out and after paying service charges I had to replace the unit. Choice paid out for the unit but was $100.00 short of true replacement value. My hot water heater ruptured and required replacing. Choice didn't cover that damage so I had to bear it all by myself, after paying for a service call. It would be very helpful in my opinion that when we call in for service if we could determine somehow if a repair is possible that would be very helpful. I just don't like paying for a service call and then having to pay another cost for a replacement item. I paid $1500.00 for a 3 year service plan and feel abused.

    I was refused service under the claim of preexisting condition when both my units were working when I joined Choice because I had coverage that I could have used up to the day I joined I was covered by a warranty that I didn't renew because I thought Choice was a better company for my budget. I never had a problem getting service on anything and would recommend them to anyone that could afford the price. I am 78 and the heat on the gulf coast is awful. I have proof that my unit was working when my policy kicked in and that it was working. Anything broke has a preexisting condition or it wouldn't need service. As for the difference in the parts on my old unit, it was probably because that was the only part because the unit is old, but it worked. I expect my contract to work for me amicably or I won't hesitate to seek expert advise. IT AND I AM HOT.!!!

    Even the plumbing company was shocked that you refused to pay this claim. Your company is useless and a waste of money to buy coverage. You negotiated one claim and refused the second claim as preexisting unless we give you our inspection report which is a personal document that we paid nearly $2000 for. After some calls, I found out that you are the worst home warranty when it comes to paying claims and we absolutely agree. It’s not worth the time or effort to file a claim with you which unfortunately also gets you out of paying on any claim. You just take the premium and run. You’re not accredited by the Better Business Bureau which is understandable because you’re a rip-off company.

    1) Two service companies have not adhered to the scheduled appointment, and their telephone numbers are not working most of the time, so I can't call the technician. 2) One service company was incompetent; 3) I made a claim for a tankless water heater. The person who took the claim failed to put that it was tankless so a service company came, and charged $65. But Choice doesn't cover these water heater. Why wasn't informed when I made the claim?

    4) I have talked to your service specialist three time, and though they are very polite and nice, they give the same excuses over and over again. They say it's the service co fault, and service co says it's Choice's fault. Meanwhile, the customer is not be served. 5) Choice's phone also gives the block to call that "due to such high volume calls." What other service companies block customer calls. This is the worst home warranty experience I have had in 20 years. I am on hold now to get my money back.

    The technicians that have been to my house were very knowledgeable and presentable. That is why I am giving a star. I had issues with my heater all winter and had to use a space heaters because the issue was never fixed. In fact the technician stated that the unit just needed replaced. Choice did not do this so it looks like the outcome for winter will be the same. Now summertime my AC is not working. It has a leak and my understanding it needs replaced also. Choice has instructed the company that works on a/cs to put a chemical in it to stop the leak. Such chemical that many places no longer put in units for certain reasons. So I am stuck at home summer weather, just had a major surgery and not dealing with the heat very well at all. Would I recommend choice? Absolutely not. They have no compassion for their customers.

    I had issues with this dishwasher last year. Choice Home Warranty sent a company to repair the problem. The company said I needed a new motherboard. Choice Home Warranty decided not to pay for the repair and pay an amount for a replacement. We agreed on the amount and I completed the claim online, but they never sent my check. Unfortunately I had two major floods in my house between then and now (one turned into a mold situation), so I had been working on fixing the house after those two issues and realized I still had not received the check.

    I called Choice Home Warranty to find out what happened to the check. They told me I had to file a new claim, which meant pay the same repair company again to come back and tell me (and them) the same issue (replace the motherboard). NOW they want to replace the motherboard. Why didn’t they just approve the replacement last year. They could have saved me money and time. But why would anyone want to save their customers money and time :-(. I asked for a manager to contact me and I still have not received a callback. The two star review is for the representatives that I spoke with and the repair company because they were very good. Even the repair company couldn’t figure out why they were coming back to the same house with the same dishwasher.

    Our hot water heater broke. The technician sent by Choice told them what parts he needed. Choice wouldn't authorize all parts. The "expert" at the phone knew better! So just 1 part got ordered. After almost 3 weeks of having no hot water the tech came today, put in the authorized part and guess what- it needs that other part. Choice still does not want to pay.     My AC failed on Saturday August 7th. I made a claim via e-mail and phone that evening about 7 pm. I had a quick response to my claim via e-mail and text message. I didn't receive help until Tuesday August 23rd. The repair tech showed up Friday the 26th. A day late. He stated he didn't have my phone # to call and say it would be the next day. He submitted a diagnosis on the same day, and again on Monday the 29th. On Tuesday the 31st CHW denied my claim. It took them way too long to find a repair service that would ACCEPT my work order. They had to look outside of my general area. They have "cookie cutter" responses to e-mails. This was my first claim in the 11 months that I had the service. My monthly payments were automatic via credit card. I was charged a $75.00 service call fee and my claim was denied. They were quick to give a cause of the failure... Not the repair tech... He just gave a diagnosis..

    I followed the maintenance rules for my ten year old central heat and air unit. As well as the maint. on my other household apps. and systems. I'm a disabled U.S. Army Veteran with Type 2 Diabetes under dr's orders to stay away from direct sunlight as well as the heat and humidity. They took way too long to send help. This is completely and totally unacceptable. I will now have to borrow $ 3000.00 to have my outside unit replaced. I have suffered Physically and mentally over this situation and could not afford a motel from Aug.7th to the 31st to get any comfort or relief. I lost the use of my home and had to stay with friends and relatives.

    I have had a Choice Home Warranty for over a year. EVERY claim I've submitted was disputed. I've had to fight to get the smallest claims resolved. Most recently, I submitted a claim for a broken dishwasher door latch. The dishwasher is approx. 11 years old. A repair company was sent by Choice to examine the door latch and reported it broken due to normal wear and tear. Choice has, once AGAIN denied the claim stating that a dishwasher door latch can not be broken due to normal wear and tear. I would think repeated use of the door latch on a daily basis for 11 years would constitute NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR! If Choice will deny a claim this small, I have no faith that they would accept a claim on my Heat Pump or anything major. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

    I live in AZ. At this time of year temps are over 100 degrees every day. MY A/c failed on 8/25. I submitted a claim request and was told no one available till 8/31. No one showed up. He arrives on time, inspects, says I have a broken "wheel" causing a motor failure and that Choice will not cover the claim because a broken wheel is not "normal wear and tear."

    What is it? It is in an enclosed area and has been maintained yearly with inspection and tune ups. What is Choice implying? How would the broken whesel not be normal wear and tear? Anyway it cost me $900 for the repair and my family had to suffer almost a week of no a/c in the AZ heat. I could not be more dissatisfied. Customer service agents showed no compassion for my situation at all.
