After plumber tried to fix twice he said our hot water heater needed to be replaced. Then he went off the grid and didn’t respond to Choice or to us. Finally we got another plumber as we couldn’t wait. Choice only paid for 2/3 of the bill. That was disappointing. It seems that after two try by choice's plumber and two weeks of no hot water with 2 small children in the house they could at least pay for the hot water heater. They wore us out so we had to pay $600 extra.

My experience was 5 stars…I made my claim on Friday and my dryer was fixed on Tuesday…the service tech that came to my house was very experienced and professional and friendly…from him coming in my house to him leaving was exactly 1 hour and done … I am so glad I changed my home warranty company to CHW from Cinch…

When I make a claim the response is within a day or two and all the companies that have responded have done a great job repairing or getting authorization for replacement. The Choice follow up and the alert system keeps me informed and lets me know what to expect. No complaints on service or response time so my recommendation to those looking for a warranty program is Choice.

I cannot rate better than 1 star due to the fact I am still waiting on word of a claim that has been pending since 30 July 2022. I have not been contacted by any plumbers in reference to my water leak.

Not pleased. Put in a claim for the bathroom faucets and you are saying it's not normal wear and tear when obviously it is. Looks like you are only willing to fix problems that's convenient to your company. Had I known it was going to be such a problem I would have never chosen this policy for my home. I will be finding a new policy.

I got a quick response to my call. The people who came out did their job and explained to me what was going on. I can use the machine, but they had to order some parts and they said they would call me when the parts come in. They said about 5 days. I thought they were particularly good and friendly.

I submitted 3 claims at the same time due to having procrastinated wanting to deal with some of them... This was by far the quickest and easiest service I have dealt with! I received immediate confirmation the claims were received, kept updated, and all were scheduled for service calls within the week. Each of the service providers (for AC, Garage door, and plumbing leak) were professional, friendly, and resolved the issues. I am very well pleased with investing in Choice Home Warranty!

We contacted our home warranty people on July 22 when our air conditioning was no longer cooling our home. Six days later someone finally showed up to determine what the problem was. After the first attempt to repair our unit failed, they said we needed a new unit and coils. It took an additional two days for approval, and we have been waiting 5 additional days with no response and no schedule for when this new unit might be installed. They sent us an email saying we could make an appointment for a call back (first available appointment is a week from now). Meanwhile it is over 80 in our home and no end in sight. I guess they attempt to wait you out so you will just get it repaired yourself and they won't have to pay out for this claim. Extremely disappointed with this response.

My a/c stopped working in the summer. It took them 3 weeks to get "more information" from the technician. They said that they already had the diagnosis, and were awaiting price quotes from the technician. Then out of nowhere, my claim was denied because the particular issue with the a/c wasn't covered. They went from waiting on price from the technician to finding a loophole to deny my claim. When I called the customer service team to cancel my contract and ask for refund of the remaining time in the contract, the representative was very unhappy and super rude. I had recommended some of my family and friends recently, but will be asking them to find someone else. I'd recommend others do the same.

When I called the Choice Home Warranty, the representative was helpful, easy to talk with and clear about the policy and what it covered. Very positive experience. He also checked my address and found I qualified for a better offer from the company because I live in an area that is well covered with service providers.

I've only had 2 claims. The first claim was for a garage door opener which took a week to get fixed. Even though it was winter and I had to get out and do it manually I did not complain. The second claim is ongoing as we speak. My refrigerator freezer and ice maker are not working and this is now day 3 with nothing done. Needless to say I now have food loss. Your company sent me an email about calling someone, paying for it and then waiting up to 30 days for reimbursement. This is not why I took out this insurance. It was to ease the burden.
Since it was obvious your company was having difficulty finding someone to work with you on your terms I thought I would help. I called you and gave you the name and phone number of the local company that the refrigerator was purchased from because this is who I would choose to come and service it. Well the response I received from your rep was, "Sorry we don't work with them." So here I sit, day 3, not knowing what you are doing. This will be the last day I sit!

As usual CHW, had a technician out to our home to review our refrigerator issue. The technician came out and tested everything and found the compressor had frozen solid and could not be repaired. Choice at that time made the decision to provide an amount to be used for replacement. The amount they provided was based on the unit's age model and the depreciation over time. Our unit was over 20 years old and they gave us a reasonable settlement. We needed to get a refrigerator as quickly as possible so we went out and purchased one. Since we did not speak to the choice representative for a couple of days their normal procedure would have been to give us a Lowe's gift card towards the purchase but they again made a reasonable settlement. We are continually pleased with the service that we get and highly recommend them! See the photos of the old unit and the new unit.

I recently obtained Choice Warranty for a rental I own. I had to wait almost a week for repairman to arrive and diagnose. Choice is replacing the microwave with a gift card of $191 from Lowes. That's all great but takes 30 DAYS to receive gift card which puts my renter out a month. I think the 30 days is ridiculous and Choice response time could improve greatly. Otherwise a good/fair experience.

The technician that came to our home was very good and professional and could have our air conditioning working in just a couple of days however, Choice Home Warranty denied the claim. It is 90 in my home and they don't seem to care. I have requested a dispute to this denial but they can't even talk to me for 8 days!!!! Horrible, the worst Warranty Company in the history of Warranty companies.

I just signed up with Choice Home Warranty. Mayer was extremely helpful with information which I appreciated. I have not received the documents yet so, I can't speak to those but, what Mayer told me of what Choice covers, it's hard not to pull the trigger on this home warranty. Seemed like a win, win to me. As of right now...I feel confident with my decision that Choice will be different from others I have used. Mayer went above and beyond and, was super knowledgeable with the info - which is what you need to make a decision. I would give him 10 stars if I could!!!

The tech that came out was great. However the communication was lacking. We put in a request on a Tuesday and they were not available until Saturday. When I tried to call to confirm I got no call back. The only communication I received was a text the day of - not great for timing of plan. The service was good but the communication was lacking.

The plumber came totally prepared including having a replacement with him. Took less than an hour. He was very polite. I Would recommend this plumber. He was on time. Scheduled promptly. In addition, he cleaned area when complete. He did an excellent job.

Every repair I have called in to you has taken 2 to 3 weeks to get a person to come and inspect the problem. Then it takes another 2 to 3 weeks to have the problem repaired. So far the refrigerator at ** Chattington Ct., the sink and ice maker at **, San Antonio, TX has never been repaired. When my contract runs out for these two homes I am going with a different com. The only thing that was repaired was the air conditioner at ** after I contacted someone on my own. All that was wrong was a very dirty coil.

The gentleman that did the repair was great. The issue of getting a repairman on site was extremely difficult. Access to Choice Home Warranty is not customer friendly. A phone call can go a long way to bettering your customer service. I even requested a phone call through your internet service, but that did not happen.

Sprinkler system leaking near 6000 valve. Water spewing out from where valve cap connects to valve main body. Valve is black and located on right side of house. System is a six-zone system. System is used daily to maintain the lawn.

My recent interaction with CHOICE customer service was disappointing. The reps were pleasant enough, but for the claim for my AC one of the reps was adamant that there was no supervisor I could speak with about my dissatisfaction with the company that came out to assess the issue with my AC. The company that came out was disorganized and got my address mixed up with another person’s. He told the CHOICE rep that nothing was wrong with my AC while we sat in our hot home with no AC. The CHOICE rep took his word over mine, so I had to request another company come out and pay another $60 service fee.
The new company let CHOICE know the AC needed replacing, but they denied fixing the AC stating that the issue was not related to fair wear and tear when the tech that came out said it was due to fair wear and tear and I didn’t do anything to cause it to need replacement. I requested that CHOICE do another review, but CHOICE just refused to work with me to get the AC fixed. I’m just quite upset that in one instance they believed the disorganized tech, but then did not believe the second tech who diagnosed the real issue. I won’t be renewing with CHOICE nor would I ever recommend them to anyone. CHOICE got me for a 5 year contract where I paid the cost upfront already, so I guess that means they don’t care about losing my business. Just bad customer care there, but it won’t happen again.

Communication between the service company and me was lacking, keeping me guessing as to what was going on. I reported a leaking kitchen faucet on Friday and Monday morning a Plumbtegrity plumber, Dustin, came over and assessed that the faucet could not be fixed. He left to obtain a new faucet, returned shortly and installed. Dustin was very personable, efficient, and tidy with his work and clean up.

Your offer of a Lowe's Gift Card to purchase another dryer is a poor one. I can't get the equivalent dryer at Lowe's based on the system's features and capacity for $458. You are at least $100 less than the replacement value at Lowe's. I can get much better pricing and product choices at other retailers. Your offer is a minimum offer at best.

I was very pleased with First Solutions. Although he did not arrive within the window of 11 - 3 pm nor did I receive a call from the technician or choice warranty to tell me he won’t be arriving until after 4 pm. I have been experiencing an ongoing issues with lack of communication from Choice on schedule changes. I was very displeased with the first technician sent out for the air conditioning problem.

Most of the coverages are pro-rated or not in the covered items under warranty and you don't really get any benefit out of it. Forget about replacing the broken item. If you're lucky you get a very good technician otherwise the tech guy simple reports not repairable.

Choice rescheduled my initial appointment three times, each time after the tech didn't show up during the appointed time slot. When someone did show up, the technician for the visit was great! He figure out the issue and had some solutions. My frustration is that it's been over a week since that visit and I haven't heard anything from Choice on when he is coming back to fix the actual issue. So I still don't have AC and I don't have a way to follow up on the issue without just creating a new ticket.

Prompt service is the main thing for me. I've never had to wait more than 2 days for service. Service providers always helpful with suggestion to help me maintain my equipment. Would recommend them. I changed to another provider but ended up coming back Choice for best price and service.

CHW never paid for my last claim. I had to make several requests on this current claim till they put a special dispatcher to find a repair company. Took 2+ weeks to get it repaired. CHW needs to expand on their approved service companies. The technician that came was AWESOME!!

I only signed up with Choice today, and it was a good experience. My salesperson, Manny, was confident in answering any question and he was very courteous. I had been with AHS for many years, however, their rates have increased a lot through the years, and especially now. The switch to Choice will give me more coverage for fewer dollars. I'm expecting the claim process to be easy also.

My AC was not operating correctly so I set up a claim on line. The response was prompt and a service representative arrived to evaluate the AC unit. It was determined that it needed replacement. An adjustor sent me an Email to contact her, which I did. She explained the process to me. The service representative called me to inform me of the estimated installation. The installation day arrived. The service representative arrived on time, as did the new unit and crane to install it. Everyone worked in a professional manner. The work was completed. The crew cleaned all litter and debris from the area and disposed of it. Before leaving, he explained the work completed before giving me an invoice. I was very pleased with the company that serviced me (STELLA LLC).

The plumber that came to my house was great! He fixed my problem & answered my questions. This was about the only time I've been happy with Choice. I will not renew my contract with your company. You don't end up paying for anything! I've had to attempt to use my warranty through you numerous times & the majority, you didn't cover anything! My hot water tank went out due to age, you didn't cover that, I was told you don't cover water storage tanks but yet my coverage says a hot water tank is covered! What do you think a hot water tank is??? My dishwasher went out... You gave me a check for $250... You can't even touch a dishwasher for less than $500... These incidents are some of the reasons I won't renew or recommend your company to anyone!

After reviewing the contract with Choice Warranty, I noticed that the deductible was incorrect. I contacted the person I spoke with at Choice. He assured me that he would correct the problem and a new contract would be in hand by the following morning. The survey came first so presently I'm only giving four stars if everything follows through like it should tomorrow morning. I would be more than happy to readjust this assessment and go to five stars because I am very satisfied with everything else.

I was sold on no hassle no worries. If an appliance goes bad, just file a claim and pay a service fee and they send a tech that will fix it or replace it. All lies! I filled my claim for the A/C unit and a service guy came out and I paid the fee. He recommended the unit get replaced because of maintenance. The claim was denied so I appealed it and a case worker was assigned. She never contacted me. I called her extension and left a clear message to call me any time. I live in Texas and it’s over 100 deg daily. I sent emails and no one called. I set up an appointment and got a call from an assistant that tried explaining that she had pictures and over the fine print maintenance is not covered. This is bull because I have had regular maintenance 2 times a year. She insisted she has pictures. Meanwhile the unit is not fixed and they lied. I even paid the full year in advance. What a rip off.

I am filing a complaint with the NJ State Attorney's office for harassment by Choice Home Warranty. For the past 2 months they have been calling me non stop to renew my agreement. I already state I do not want to renew - but they still keep calling and sending me e-mails. This is harassment. Not to mention that their service is horrible. How can I get them to stop calling me? I would never use them again.

Early Thursday morning I noticed my house had not cooled but the fan was running. I made a claim at 4:30 am and received a notification that morning. Since the appointment was not until Friday I called Air Dynamics to see if I could get an earlier appointment. Steven, technician, was nice enough to make it out and found out my AC Motor had locked up. Steven then was back by my scheduled appointment on Friday and replaced my AC motor. My AC is working so good I needed to move the thermostat up a few degrees. Great job by Air Dynamics of Tulsa and Choice Home Warranty.

I am deeply disappointed in the fact that Choice Home Warranty does not cover these exhaust fans. My contract states under section D, 13 Ceiling and exhaust fans that motors and bearings are covered, and nowhere does it state anything that excludes kitchen exhaust fans. The problem with this exhaust fan is that one motor has quit and another has bad bearings, all of which should be covered as per contract. Don't ask me to renew another contract with you people.

For this call a work order was never sent to the contractor, even though an email was sent to me with time and name. Therefore if I had not called him late in the day that he was scheduled to be here, he would have not known about the call schedule. Because of that I had to wait another day to get it resolved.

My fridge started leaking water in mid Jun, immediately the day after a repairer come home with no advice, finding no one at home, from there, trying to reschedule the appointment was very painful, no answer from the contractor, no real help from Choice chat beyond “reach the contractor for rescheduling”, after a lot of insistence, choice appointed a new contractor, with a waiting time of 3 weeks!! At the end the contractor come and repaired the fridge. But this was after a month living with no fridge in me middle of the hottest season!! Really disappointing!! Financially the home warranty makes sense, but choice service finding and scheduling appointments is really poor, hope you significantly improve this in the near future, otherwise I’ll consider another option.

I was told by the sales person that CHW had the highest ratings in home loans. Salesman didn't want me to check with husband before getting it. Gave me price then told me they had a sale going on but had to get it now, said that I have 30 days to review it. BBB gave them 1.06/5 stars from 2,907 reviews of the business. I read at least 5 of the reviews and decided to cancel. Cancelation process was not that difficult to accomplish, but just signed up 20 minutes before canceling and have to wait 13-30 days to get refunded.

First call was diagnosed correctly. Paid the service fee to repair tech and they never came back. Gave them a week to contact Choice. They never did. I called Choice and told them of the situation. They were quick to correct. Second tech came out and was not HVAC certified. I will have to have another service call. Choice has been very easy to work with on getting my repairs. This review is for Claim #: **. Our refrigerator went warm sometime on the last week of May. You guessed it, we have not had this resolved. The first tech company you sent out ghosted us after they came out twice. Once was to replace the cooling fan. That wasn't the issue. They said they needed a compressor and left, never to be seen again. After trying to get you and them to at least figure out what happened, I called and asked you to reassign the ticket. Sometime around the 15th of June. Ebenezer from Hytek came out (great guy) and said he would need to get parts. Then it was a almost two-week fight from you on whether my refrigerator was still under LG warranty. I had to get LG to send me a letter that stated it was not.
Then it took time to get parts. So on July 20th, he came out with parts. We monitored for a few days and then went away. When we came back the refrigerator was warm again. I emailed you on July 29th and multiple times after that and finally got a response on Sunday the 31st. Why would I give you a good review. You dropped the ball. The only responsive person in this was Ebenezer from Hytek.

Great repair service by a friendly technician. But, it took much too long to get serviced. The repair should have occurred within hours, or days; not weeks. Try going without a microwave in your home for several weeks. You need more service suppliers who can rapidly respond to service requests.

I've had to use Choice on several occasions. I was very pleased with the Washer/Dryer experience. As for my toilet - had to have someone out here 3 times & my problem isn't resolved. Water keeps running after a flush about every 2nd or 3rd time. I reported it again, today. The representative I spoke to today was rather abrupt and she seemed want to get me off the phone quickly. Otherwise reps have been very pleasant & patient in the past.

So far you've sent 2 A/C "Techs" that didn't know what they were doing. 2nd tech said call Electrical power supplier because voltage coming into the compressor way too high. Supplier said voltage absolutely correct, maybe get an electrician. You sent an electrician who confirmed voltage correct, and nothing wrong with the breaker which keeps getting tripped by the compressor---- so far 3 COPAYS of 85.00 each!!! Now back to CHW for a 4th Tech to come out and figure out WHAT is going ON!!!

No problem filing the claim. The plumber assigned to do the the job could was scheduled for 6 days later between 3 & 8 PM. But never showed and no call. After having no water in the downstairs lavatory, this 84 year old guy decided to fix it himself. I replace a couple of O rings at the base of the faucet, problem fixed. I cancel the claim. If you live in LAS Vegas, do not count on the PLUMBER.

I’ve been with Choice warranty for several years now and every time I have a repair it takes them over a month to get it fixed if they can even fix it. Usually people they send out don’t know what they’re doing and have to make three or four trips. This has happened at least four times on several items. I’ve complained numerous times about the vendors that they keep sending out and they don’t seem to change those vendors. Waiting four weeks and 4 visits for AC to get fixed is completely unacceptable.
I had a dishwasher that it broke down and they couldn’t fix that either and they gave me the option of throwing a few hundred dollars at me which wasn’t enough to fix or replace the dishwasher after I spent thousand in the last several years between deductibles and monthly payments. The vendors are bottom of the bucket. Also, I’m not sure where they are buying all these good reviews from. I know I am finding it hard to make a review where they say they have 4 stars. Something is very off.

I’ve been with Choice Home Warranty for the past five years. While my AC had went out on June 17th I made a claim. Well it took them three weeks to get out here just to let me know that the tech they sent didn’t turn in his diagnosis therefore I needed to wait for another tech to be assigned to my case. Well it’s 100° for the last month and customer service don’t care.
CHW don’t care I call and ask them when is a tech going to be out here. They say give us 24 more hours I finally said, "Look this is BS". It's been a month now without air and still no answer on when they will have a technician out to my address. But she does say well let me put a rush noticed on your claim. I’m thinking to myself why didn’t they do that the first 5 times I called the first week without a tech. But no they are so damn dumb that I’m basically doing their job.
And then they say well you can go ahead and do a reimbursement program. So basically she’s telling me to do their job again find a tech have them come out here take pictures, submit their diagnosis to Choice Home Warranty. Hopefully they get back to you and let you know if they are going to even cover it, anything to get out of paying. The whole reason I bought insurance for my house and appliances was to know I am covered if something Was to happen I wouldn’t have to worry where am I gonna get that kind of money to fix it that’s what Choice Home Warranty basically stands for is we will take care of you but now it’s more or less we will take your money and hopefully will get back to you within the next year. I would not recommend them to anyone. Always read the fine print.

I expected to hear «no problem, we’ve got you covered » not "We will call the technician back" and wait for an hour. We had a compressor go out on our 6yr old LG refrigerator. The repair was finally approved, but it took too long. The approval should have been easy & quick. However, it took an hour to hear back from the rep. This was concerning, especially since the parts were still under warranty. This experience makes me wonder how difficult it will be getting anything else covered in the future.

Expecting a customer to wait up to 2 weeks before a replacement can be installed seems unreasonable. The customer “service” agent seemed uncaring. I asked if I could replace the water heater myself that day and be reimbursed for all or part of my cost and he told me, “No, that’s not how it works.” The one positive part of the experience was the service contractor that came out. The technician was polite, professional, and very knowledgeable. I felt confident that he could make the repair correctly.

I paid for the optional pool and spa coverage that expressly covers electrical items. The remote electrical switch which turns the pump and blower on failed. Choice denied coverage even after I disputed their claim that the electrical switch was an uncovered “multi-media center”. I kid you not. Truly ridiculous and unbelievable.

I filed a claim for an ac not cooling on 06/10/2022. Today marks almost 2 months during the heat wave and still no repairs. We keep getting excuse and excuse on why they have not come for the repairs yet. Choice Home Warranty keeps saying that they approved the repair and wash their hands like Pontius Pilate. When they should follow up with their contractors to ensure prompt and professional service. The contractors arrived 2 weeks after the original date and only performed a diagnostics, so that they could send the report to choice warranty, which I understand. Right after they approved the replacement for a air handler and ac coil. But not before choice warranty having a mix up and approving something totally different. It was I who caught that they had approved the wrong thing so they got it straight right after.
Then the contractors said they were going to come and never showed up. At this point I had taken a day off work to be available for the repair appointment. The contractors blamed it on choice home warranty platform that it is confusing and that they did not like it. Then they said that they were going to show up but another technician had sold our coil to another customer. That we had to wait another week or so. Today is 07/30/2022. In 10 more days it will be 2 months of waiting with no ac or ac repairs. Needless to say we will not be renewing any contracts with choice home warranty.

I can’t believe I bought a second policy. I am a disabled combat veteran. We have severe heat going on in our area. My air conditioner went out. I put in a request three days ago and I still have not received a call back for a tech. We had to get a hotel last night just because of the heat. Took technician about 3 minutes to solve problem with leak detector device. Thought it was working fine, but actually needed new batteries. Original installer of new water heater had not explained how detector actually functioned. It appeared to be giving a system functioning correctly signal - but was not working at all.

When there was a water leak in the kitchen near a bathroom, I though the plumbing was leaking. I placed the claim asking for a plumber to be assigned. This plumber took the time to not only check all of the sinks and tubs for leaks but discovered that the water was coming from the frozen air conditioner. He took photos of the frozen pipes and turned up the thermostat. He was extremely polite and helpful. Although I had to open a new ticket for a/c replacement, this tech was someone I would recommend.

This is our third service call this year. Each of the previous two repairs have gone smoothly and the portal makes filing a service request really simple. Appointments are usually two to three days after you place the claim and the people they send are more than competent.

I recently had a home service company come to clean my HVAC system. The contractor who came for this service found a problem with the evaporator coil, and gave me an estimate for the work to fix it and prevent further damage. I have had Choice Home Warranty for a few years, and called them to come fix the problem. The CHW contractor came from a nearby state, and travelled over 100 miles to come to my house! He checked out the evaporator coil, and cleaned it off, saying it did not need the extensive work the previous contractor had estimated at $1700! He reassured me that the coil would last another year without the expensive repair, and saved me so much money.

My freezer ice maker wasn't working. I placed a request. I was notified immediately when a repair would be made, I was asked to sent info about the make and model. Parts were ordered and delivered before the repairman's appointment. He showed up on time, reset the icemaker I had, showed us how to reset it if it happened again, was courteous and informative. Most techs have been very nice and efficient but most complain about not being paid in a timely way. Most problems are with policy. READ FINE PRINT BEFORE BELIEVING THE BOLD INFO ON THE FIRST SCREEN. Choice does not necessarily "fix or replace." They had rather "buy out" for a depreciated amount especially on older equipment.

Choice Home Warranty has been doing a good job. In a house, there may be many things can break down or you need repair with the timing. So in place of running around, you just make the one call to Choice. And they have very fast service. The reps are very good and certain. Sometimes, email helps a lot. Because I just send them email, and I get the answer fast. They assign fast, and the communication and reply are, too. And somebody will come within one, two or three days, and they will fix the problem.
I'm in the process of getting one of my refrigerator fixed. Choice assigned to Sears. They came to check and they needed two parts to fix it. The problem is that one part I received very fast. The second part, supply and demand problem. So it is not received yet. I'm just waiting. But I believe Choice is doing very good to the best of their ability. They get small things fixed fast. I'm very happy.

I received an email with a discounted quote which was helpful. Unfortunately for the email sender I didn’t get to it before a salesperson called me. He was excellent!!! Explained slowly and Answered my questions. I was able to refer to the email quote for guidance. Downstairs AC unit not working correctly, and Choice dispatched a technician within the week, they isolated the issue was the unit was no longer operational and needed to be replaced. Choice coordinated and approved the replacement within two days! The cost to me is quite economical and the service has been fantastic. I know of no one, even those with home warranty insurance, that have shared such a positive and powerful customer service experience and results. Of course, it has not been replaced yet, but if all continues as it has been I have absolutely no worries the results will be outstanding as well. Really eliminating a tremendous amount of stress on my side. Thank You!

Received a call from the company you assigned for this claim. They stated the earliest they could make it was Aug. 13th. This is over two weeks away. This is unacceptable. I have been with your company for a number of years, even had 2 friends get coverage from your company. You must do better at picking your contractors. I need this problem fixed now not in two weeks.

ASE came out on 7/28/2022 to confirm leakage. I paid the $65.00. I was informed in afternoon that CHOICE denied repair!! This morning I received an email from CHOICE that it was approved. ASE will be out here this morning to make repairs. So GLAD. Why the confusion??

The AC response was quick and the technician came the next morning. He was professional and repaired the unit at the same time. However, the Dishwasher repairman claimed that the hose was clogged and the warranty was not allowed. Subsequently, I had someone replace the supposed clogged hose and found it was clean as a whistle. Very disappointed, when the problem was not diagnosed properly. I ended up buying a new dishwasher.

This is not at all a reflection on either technician that came to our house but a reflection on the customer service provided by Choice! We called many times just trying to get some answers so that we could water in our home again. All but one of the Choice people we spoke with just sounded like they were reading from a script when they would “answer” our questions and not actually give us any help. We did not feel like there was any care for us as the customer and that the company just wanted to collect their money from us each year. We did finally have one customer service person who was extremely helpful after I told her I wouldn’t get off the phone until I spoke with a manager.

I am very disappointed in dealing with Choice! I didn’t get the cheapest policy & find that It does not help a whole lot. For the washer that is not that old needing a new transmission Choice only gave $343. After the service call fee that only leaves $278 on a new washer that cost minimum of $750! Plus took 2 weeks to speak to get service & then someone. What if it were my A/C? I will not renew Choice. I’ll go back the previous home warranty co that was more fair & worth the $. Very bad advertisement for Choice!

Since we moved into this new house, we had problems with our garage doors from the start. Mike, from EBO, the company contracted has been extraordinarily helpful with the diagnostics, replacement and fixing both doors which were failing and came yesterday to repair mouse chewed wires impeding the recent new equipment installations. He's very skilled, knowledgeable and personable customizing the wiring to be out of the way for the field mice who get into the garage. He is very good.

When I was in the purchasing the Home Warranty with you guys, I was enquiring with the agent Elliot ** about repair or replacement policy for of appliances along with other questions I have. I was told that the appliance would first be tried to repair and on possible they would be replaced with same make and model with similar futures but I found out after reading the fine print that they wouldn’t replace with identical brand or size but just with identical efficiency. I felt like the conversation by the agent was deceitful to make a sale.

Signing up with Choice was great. This is my third year with them, and I love them. They're excellent. They fixed my dryer once. It wouldn't run, and the thing on top that you turn wouldn't go. I didn’t know what was wrong with it and couldn't get it to go. I called Choice out here, and of all the stupid things, I was turning the dial the wrong way. I also submitted a claim recently for my air conditioner, and they were out the next day, had it fixed in no time and no charge for me.

I want to say I had a bad leak from my A/C unit the past 3 years. I was told "it's normal" so I really didn't give it much thought. Until the past few weeks, it was leaking so bad my hardwood floors started seeping. I called Choice and they were more than understanding and got on it very quickly. I was told they will have someone here on Friday. Thank god... I then received a call from the HVAC tech (on Wednesday) asking what my issue was. I explained everything to him and he was extremely considerate. Told me he would see me on Friday. 30 mins later I got a text from that same tech, "Will you be home in an hour." I obviously said yes, he came by and took care of everything. I was soooooo appreciative and grateful. Thank you!!!!

I have had the experience on both of my last service calls. Appointments have been set and no one comes or call until I initiate an inquiry, after the appointment interval has been missed. I needed a dryer repair. The Serviceman actually called me a day before my scheduled appointment and offered to stop by because he was already in my area. He arrived within 10 minutes of the time that was agreed upon, the task was completed to satisfaction and he was on his way within an hour. 1. June...bottom drawer ice maker not dispensing ice, claim made through our Choice Home Warranty and a tech scheduled for 2 weeks later. 2. Two weeks later a tech arrived checked fridge and had to order new ice maker part. 3. Ice maker part had to arrive before tech is scheduled and return 3 weeks later. 4. Three weeks and new ice maker arrived and tech returned to install, did a cycle test and said it was working, paid my service call fee and he left. 5. Gave ice maker 24 hours to make ice and still didn't work! Called and reopened claim and had to reschedule tech return only another 3 weeks out to Aug. 4th.
6. July 28th, 1 week til tech returns I get a text stating A&E had ordered new part to arrive but if didn't arrive by Aug. 4th the tech would once again have to be rescheduled to ??? 7. Contacted both A&E and Choice Home Warranty to complain and ask why would a part be ordered without a Tech first accessing the situation...neither company had an answer except a Choice Warranty supervisor offered to send a different company out but I would have to pay another service call fee! Unfortunately, as a consumer I am left with little or no options since I've already paid for a full year coverage with Choice Home Warranty! Bottom line - buyer beware of these Home Warranty services and the companies they use to repair or replace items supposedly covered by them!!!

I was informed by the technician that your company only offered a $100 replacement to my $300 Fossett. Luckily I had my own spare. Nothing in my house is cheap. The process of finding a committed contract was upsetting we waited, no show! Changed the appt. 3 times after no show then finally, Choice called a Sears rep. Which was good. I am finding it's taking a lot longer to get someone to come out, for service. At least 7-10 days.

In summary, I waited for over a week for the first technician to show and never did. I would have to call and when they would answer it was always the same statement that they will be out later and will call me 30 minutes in advance. That never happened and I updated Choice Warranty again and the assigned another technician to my case.
R.W was excellent. He called 1 hour prior to the appointment and worked on my fridge for over 5 hours. When he was done he said he still did not think it was going to work because the control board was not sending a signal to the defrost section of the fridge and in turn, caused the buildup of ice around the fan that circulates the air from the freezer to the fridge. At this point the fridge is still not cooling to less than 55 degrees.
Your claims dept said it was a problem with the ice maker (and it seems like I was told that is all Choice Warranty is going to do) and is covered under warranty from Samsung and to contact them. I called Samsung and they said they will not do anything with the ice maker if the fridge is not cooling because it will not produce ice and will not come out until the fridge is fixed.
So, I am stuck with a fridge that is still not functioning and even after he told me it was the control board and he was going to turn in his report as stated above. Please help me to get this issue resolved as I am going on 3 weeks without a fridge. I was assigned a Case Manager after I appealed the claim and I am hoping we can get this resolved quickly.

I am very disappointed that my coverage would not cover the repair of my fan and motor which was damaged by a snake that somehow got into my air conditioner cabinet. This was not abuse by my use of the air conditioner, rather, an environmental situation I had no control over. I have paid Choice thousands of dollars over the years and this minor expense should be covered! This causes me to question my continued use of Choice Home Warranty!

Overall I'm pleased with the service provided by Choice Home Warranty. For this project it got a little frustrating trying to figure who had the warranty for the AC unit that was new (and Choice covered) and the particulars when it came to who was responsible for the repair. We eventually figured it out and it all worked out.
