    I would never recommend nor buy another warranty. Nothing expensive is covered. All they want to "fix" is a dripping faucet or some other small repair. The plumbers who came to my home on Nov 2nd were wonderful and professional. I will hire them in the future. It's Choice I don't like.

    Getting repairs done are a hit-and-miss with Choice Warranty. There has been times they are on top of it and send a technician out and times you have to call and fight with them because technicians no show or cancel or reschedule and Choice Warranty never communicates anything with you.

    The repairman reset and fixed the sensors and the box overhead with the light. He was steady at work and very well aware of problem and fixed it. He noticed the door shook and swayed from side to side and hesitated as it twisted. He explained that rollers were well worn and a couple moved out and around causing the sway of the door pulling to one side. Even though I checked to see if warranty covered this I replaced rollers as the bearings in old ones had some missing.As I am 85 and lie alone without any family now I decided not to chance door getting off track and stuck half up or down or falling on me or car. The service and reply to my claim was excellent and I was operational within 3 days of claim. I am very satisfied.

    You all did not fix problems . It had a leak and you all told tech to seal it with sealants and see if it fixes problems but I have been lawmaking in paying my monthly dues and if it does not hold then I need to make a claim again for the same thing and have to pay the service fees again. I feel that the problem was not address. You all just did not want to spend on fixing problems so you all went the easy and cheaper way. This is unsatisfactory and a gross misuse of my fees. I paid for a long time. Please advise on this or I will find a more reliable company that stands by their workmanship and not been to fast to fix problems with the easy and cheaper way.

    A tech from A Quick Plumbing came out because my dishwasher was not draining. He recognized that my drain line went to this copper line that led down to the basement instead of going directly to your garbage disposal. So he said it needed to be rerouted. But he said he had to get it authorized, which I find a little **. He should have been able to do it right there on the spot. He told me he had to come back. But I didn't hear from him for days. Finally, I get in touch with him, and he told me he was coming back to do it.

    When he came back, he told me, "Oh, there's a connection part. I don't have it." You would have thought he would have known that and what he needed when he examined it the first time. So he told me he has to come back again for that. So he came back and redid it again. My garbage disposal leaked while he was there. I told him, "My garbage disposal's leaking now." But he said, "Oh, well, I don't know. Whatever." So bottom line, I had to put in another call for that, pay another dispatch fee, and have another company come out and redo my garbage disposal.

    Some of the technicians with Choice are beyond horrible. They are really unprofessional, in street clothes, and have no identification, cards, or invoices. The people at Choice are very friendly. But I did have an incident where they couldn't get somebody here, and they told me, "Okay. Well, you're on your own. You can get your own person and have them submit the paperwork." But someone was not gonna go through all that bother. So I spent a couple 100 bucks out of pocket because they couldn't provide somebody for me, even though I'm paying for the service.

You decided to send a amount that was WAY BELOW what I could replace a dw. In fact was less than what I could buy the cheapest dw for sale.     Choice had the best offer. I, fortunately, put it on three different homes that I purchased, so they were able to be a little fair on the costs. In my primary home around August, I had my air conditioning unit stop working. Being in Florida in August, they couldn't find anybody. So, I had to find a technician. I had to pay for it and then they would reimburse me afterward, which is not the way things are supposed to work. I paid them a $65 fee to diagnose it and then I had to pay the technician $85 to correct it. Then I had to wait for my money for the $85. They said, “We appreciate you helping us out.” I said, “Yeah, but I paid you guys the fee to begin with, and then I got to underwrite your business to reimburse me.”

    Then two weeks ago, same home, I had my water heater go out. Again, it was a battle. In the policy, they cover everything. As far as the water heater, they cover the service. But they don't cover the physical unit, which is buried in their paperwork. I was not happy about that at all. But since this house is only four years old, I contacted the manufacturer. I made arrangements for the manufacturer to have a replacement unit picked up by a licensed contractor/plumber. They came and picked up the old one. They took it to the manufacturer. They got the new one and put it in. But again, I did the work. Every time I have a claim with Choice, I spend three to five hours of my time, messing around with it and getting them to cover it. I'm on the fence if I’m gonna continue with these people.

    I attempted to secure a pro-rated refund after verifying another Denial of Claims (3 of 4 claims denied). I purchased a 5 year policy and am 2 years and 4 months into that period. Essentially, after they did the prorated calculations, it left me with about $510.00. What they don't tell you about is that they also subtract the associated expenses CHW has incurred, I.e. any claim monies they have paid out! I have had 2 service needs since the first of the year for different systems (internal plumbing, clothes washer breakdown). CHW's first choice for service contractors, in both cases, were companies 2 hours from my home (google map shortest route), and in one case, another state.     I used them a month ago but I had to get my own serviceperson and I'm not really happy about that. I'm nearly 80 and I nearly had a nervous breakdown trying to get all that done. I didn't get a home warranty so I would have to go through all that. They put the request out and they didn't get any hits. Then they told me I could get my own contractor. I called a plumber and he was wonderful. I had two different jobs that he had to do. He had to replace the garbage disposal, and then he had to work on a clogged drain. The plumber told me that he absolutely refused to work with Choice because it takes up to three months to get payment.

    I got a check and it was for half of what the total bill was. If they had sent their own service person out, I would have been out their service call and that would be it. I wouldn't recommend Choice unless you're somewhere where there's tons of service people.

    My recent experience with customer service was far from acceptable. I had a food disposer that failed and upon opening a claim it took over a week to get someone to replace it. And this only occurred when I called someone local to do it. I spoke with customer service 4 times, each time the reply was to allow another 24 hours for Choice to find a tech. After the first 24 hour period expired I should have been allowed to obtain someone on my own (and have Choice reimburse me) rather than having to wait, going without a food disposal for over a week. If I had not purchased a 5 year contract it's doubtful it would extend an annual. I sincerely hope the service is what I'm promised in the contract should I have to open a claim for some other reason.

    CHOICE HOME WARRANTY IS DEFINITELY NOT AMERICA'S 2ND BEST HOME WARRANTY SERVICE... They paid for their endorsements. If you dig deeper into other sites like Yelp, you will get true reviews from real people. On June 7, 2022 I took a 4-year home warranty policy from this company. On Sept. 19th, 2022 I filed a claim for our dishwasher to be fixed. Oct. 3rd, 2022 I finally received an email telling me that a service tech would come on 10-5-22 to look at our appliance between 11:00 am - 3:00 pm...he never came. After many calls to the service tech, I finally got a call back asking me what the issue was, which I proceeded to tell him and what we tested and checked first. It was obvious that he didn't want to come and told me he would put into CHW a write-up to replace the dishwasher. After weeks of multiple calls to the service tech as well as Choice Home Warranty with no responses.

    I called CHW once more and demanded to speak to a manager. I would think after 40 days, I should have had my dishwasher fixed or at least received credible information as to when it would be fixed. Their customer service people up to their service managers lie and are equally as negligent as this service tech they contracted with.

    Today when I called once more, the manager I got this time stated I never should have been promised a reply within 4-6 hours...really, only now it was 30 hours later. This new manager tried to sympathize with me saying she understood my frustration again...par for the course, as I heard it multiple times already...they all LIE!!!! After hearing that, I cancelled my policy to which they prorated my plan and charged me a $50 cancellation fee.

    I paid $1,386.00 for this warranty and praying I at least get the $1,128 they promised would be refunded. No service business should be run in this manner, cheating people and lying over and over again. They definitely are drinking the same Kool-Aid! So what recourse do people like us have over companies like Choice Home Warranty. Please don't trust all the reviews you read and look for real reviews like on YELP where real people leave honest reviews. Thank you.

    This home warranty claims to replace your appliances if they break. However, in practice, they give you a small amount which does not actually cover the cost to buy a new appliance, or any money to help with installation. Our microwave broke and we paid the service fee to find out it needed replaced. Instead of getting us a new microwave, Choice Home Warranty decided they would give us about half the amount a similar microwave would be in Lowe's gift cards. On top of this, it would take 20 days to get these gift cards. This was not what was advertised, but I was told this is allowed per their terms. These say that the company can give whatever it deems fit for a replacement with no recourse to the consumer. This is not acceptable behavior from a home warranty company, which exists to safeguard your home appliances. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! NOT A REAL HOME WARRANTY!

    Choice Home Warranty ended up being the most responsive via email. We started with them in September. We had to wait 30 days before they activate it. All we did was get a “Welcome to Choice” email. When you sign up to get a quote, you get many calls. They just keep beating on you and Choice did the same thing. I never realize that it was going to inundate me with emails, phone calls, and text messages. They're brutal. My biggest concern was it was always a one-year deal. I didn't even know they had a three-year or five-year. It was never in the offers. They were really in the hard press to get me to do the one year instead of going for five years or three years for a better price. They just drove and drove, and it made me feel like they didn't truly appreciate me as a customer. They just appreciated the dollars. We kept them though.

    I tried to turn my furnace on and it would not stay on. I could hear the burners come on then off. I called Choice Home Warranty (8 times) and got the same answer as if they were reading from a cue card! They said they couldn’t find a service company in my area that wasn’t booked up!     I put in a request with Choice Home Warranty to have a slow drain cleared. Claim number **. A plumber arrived at my house and Choice Home Warranty refused to authorize service until I proved that a repair was made on a previous claim even though Choice Home Warranty paid a portion of the repair AND it was made by the same plumbing company. If this is an issue why wasn't it brought up before Choice Home Warranty sent someone to my house costing me $65 for nothing? I requested to speak to a manager and was told I would receive a return call within 4 hours. 22 hours and counting and still no call.     I put in a request for service for my air conditioning, because it wasn’t cooling. It is October but still hitting 90 here in Florida. A technician was assigned quickly and the appointment was next day, and I loved the contractor, otherwise this would be a 1 star review. The tech diagnosed the problem quickly and contacted Choice Home for authorization to make the repair. They denied it. They said they needed info from me because they had denied an earlier claim for my air conditioning.

    Long story on this. I ditched a different home warranty company because of poor service, and when I came to Choice, they said they would waive the 30 day waiting period because I had previous coverage during that time. I filed a claim on the A/C during this time and they denied it, because I was in the 30 days! I disputed it, sent all the documentation they asked for but they never followed through. I was still under contract with the previous company and had them fix it. So now, for the current claim, Choice wants proof it was fixed before. I told them I would send them a copy of the completed service request from the other company and they said that was fine. I sent it and someone else contacted me and said it wasn’t enough and the repairs still aren’t authorized. This is total **. As soon as I get this resolved, plus another outstanding claim they haven’t fixed, I will be dropping them as well.

I initially called just to get information regarding coverage cost and claim copay. The rep provided me with a lot of options. He ran through the numbers fairly quick…it was kind of hard to keep up.     The last repair was on my air conditioning, and I wasn't thrilled with the results. That fella that came out to do the work was a real pleasant young fella. But when I called about the cleaning, because I thought since it wasn't working right, the warranty would take care of it. But it didn't. And Choice hey wanted $900 to do it. So, we just made our mind that we wouldn't be dealing with them anymore. The guy that came out to do the well pump, they put some astronomical figure. We paid $75. And it was 570. The part was 100 bucks. So, they exaggerate the prices. There was another item we called to have fixed. It was our water softener. I thought they took care of our water supply to the house. But they said that it wasn't covered, and they didn't send anybody out for that.

    I’ve enjoyed having Choice. Customer service is good. Quick response between the time you call and when a repairman comes out. The downsides are, if your appliance or system are deemed non-repairable, you have to wait 30 days to receive funds. This is unacceptable as we spent close to the amount they’re refunding you on fast food (for the fridge) or at laundromats (for washer). Additionally, the refund amount is “usually” disappointing. Lastly, they try to limit you to a Lowe’s gift card. Be sure to ask for a check if you’d rather shop around.

    I was disappointed that it took Choice Home over a week to find a repair service. (It would have been a real hardship if it had been my stand alone freezer or my air conditioner for example). However, once Universal Appliance Repairs showed up, I was very satisfied with their service. The freezer was repaired on the spot, but the dishwasher needed a part replaced, which they immediately got authorization to order, and as soon as it arrived (about a week later), they came back and installed it.     I just had a plumber fix a small leak under my sink. I had plumbers put all new sinks in my home three years ago.     Regarding repair of 30 year old, the MEND tech said it would be cheaper to replace toilet than to repair it. I purchased the new toilet with no charge to Choice. The old toilet was the standard low height. Now that we're 30 years older, as 76 plus seniors, I went ahead had tech install new toilet. It sure is nice to use that higher toilet.     The company is okay. They do what they say they're going to do. They can definitely make it better. The site is hard to log in via phone and you don't get to select your availability.
