    Ultimately, H2R plumbing was timely, polite, and good to work with. However, I only got H2R after cancelling the first technician due to very poor Google marks and a poor BBB score.     Updated on 01/13/2023: I would highly recommend the technicians (Glenns Heating) to anyone. However, after having someone come out 6 times since 10/25 to fix my HVAC system, I have trouble recommending Choice for a variety of reasons. This unit is old and should have been replaced.

    Original review: It has been an up and down experience. Both companies that have responded the last two times have done very well. The length of time and the amount of times that I have had my HVAC cared for is too many. Over the last 3 years I have probably had at least 7 or 8 times that I have had to contact Choice and get someone out.

    I have had Choice Home Warranty for a few years now, (clearly I will not renew my policy) every time I have made a claim it has been a nightmare dealing with them and the incompetence. I will only mention my last claim. I made a claim regarding my stove top Burners, the issue was the igniters would not turn off. I had to turn the breaker off to the kitchen and use a lighter to turn on the burners. Claim was made in August and a technician was not assigned until the end of September. Finally a technician was assigned. (I paid the 45.00 dollar fee) The tech diagnosed the issue as faulty burner igniters and said all need replacement.

    A follow up repair was scheduled for this repair 5 times all in which the technician did not show up. After the 5th no show the claim was reassigned by Choice to a new technician and after an additional 3 weeks an appt for service was scheduled. They had to start from the beginning meaning a new diagnosis was required by Choice. This new technician was scheduled and also failed to show up for the appointment making it a total of 6 times a technician failed to show up. Fed up I told Choice forget about the claim and that I will get my own repair just refund me my 45.00 I have paid on principle. They said no they can't do that, there was no apology for the 6 No shows, or any apology for my time being wasted and the mere fact I have been waiting since August over 3 months. Anyone in interested in a Home warranty "BUYER BEWARE"..Stay clear of Choice Home Warranty.

    The technician was excellent, and very experienced in appliance repair. My dishwasher could not be repaired. Choice offered me $246 for replacement with a Lowes gift certificate. The lowest priced dishwasher, bottom of the barrel sold by Lowes is $415, so my dishwasher clearly cannot be replaced. The reason for having a warranty is to repair or replace an appliance if it cannot be fixed. I disputed it and their response is to give me the $246 in a check so I can now shop around. No dishwasher to be found for that amount of money!

It was more than 36 hours later that I received a notice of an appointment with the technician, and it took four days to get a technician to my house. Then the technician had to report to you his findings. I didn't get a response to that until 3 days later. Today I got an email from CHW saying that the next appointment with the technician was set for this afternoon, but the company said they didn't even have the dishwasher part in yet. So now, 9 days later, my dishwasher still is broken. I'm extremely disappointed with your service and communication.

With that being said there are two things that I do not like about choice home warranty. 1) With the cost of appliances being that they are they will only give you a small amount if they can not fix your appliance. 2) They don't call to set up the appointment. They make it and send it via email which is not always the best because you may not be able to make it on that day and to reschedule is horrible.

    When I signed up I do believe it was included on the policy. The problem was with David ** who promised to send the section where the it specifically shows the "cell" as he called it. He did send a link that actually shows that it is NOT covered specifically. See the attached cut out. I requested several times to be cancelled. After being put on hold for over 1/2 hour each time they then send you to the resolution center. That would be where David ** never followed through. See the attached emails also.

    If you ever have a problem with service I can only imagine the nightmares of waiting. Probably works better for policy holders to use the website. But God help you if you need to talk with someone. Oh and here once they did finally cancel it see again the pics. They said look at Section XI for applicable fees which doesn't exist. The section does exist but under "H" there is no section XI or 11...They seriously need to update the website or customer service because nothing aligns with what one says. The experience was unbelievable but not in a good way.

    We pay an annual maintenance fee on our HVAC system as required by Choice. So when they say we need a part replaced per the manufactures specifications, we called Choice to perform the service. But we were told the repairman he could not perform the required service because Choice needed to approve, even though he confirmed the part needed to be replaced. This is why we called Choice in the first place. So we ended up having to pay for a service fee without the needed service. The repairman then told us there is only a 50% chance you will approve, because your service desk is managed by a group of recent high school graduates who are not qualified. This gives me a great lack of confidence in Choice.

    I joined CHW because of the great reviews I read but I have yet to receive this excellent service. Before I put in a claim back in August I called first to see if it was covered, I was told it was, however when the contractor came to my home not only wasn't it covered this contractor was not who was listed in service contract but instead someone the initial contractor sent to do the work. The actually contractor was not a licensed plumber but instead a handyman had no website just a Facebook page. The '"contractor" didn't complete the job correctly and I had to called an actual plumber. This was just a simple shower faucet replacement that ended up costing me more money than it needed. When I mentioned to CHW they were appalled that the contractor they hired sent someone else but didn't really do anything about it other than say they would have the initial contractor removed from their services.

    They increased my monthly rate without speaking with me, I had to call several times to get that resolved. I tried sending letter because you cannot email unless it's 50 characters. My letter was returned back to me with message, "Forward time expired". Right now I am not satisfied with CHW. Not sure if I am going to stay with them. I am sure this is not the review they expected nor that it will get posted but hopefully upper leadership will see it and it was my opportunity to vent about the poor service I received. I will say the supervisor I spoke with about the 'handyman" that was sent to me was very concerning about it. She was worried that if something had of happened to me they would not have known who was in my home because she was not aware of the guy I mentioned, so I really hope they removed this contractor from their services.

    The level of dissatisfaction, lack of professionalism, and general disregard that Choice has for their clients is comparable to going to a store, buying a product and leaving the store without the item. To speak plainly, they have not followed through on a single warranty call for the entire duration that we have had their "services". The company appears to allow anyone to sign up and offer their specialty without being screened, dispatches them to collect the deductible, then NEVER follows up to complete the repairs.

    Six separate warranty qualifying situations have come up since 2017 and NOT A SINGLE task was completed by Choice. All of the repairs had to be handled outside of choice on my own dollar. The blatant disregard for accountability, their dismissive communication, and all around horrendous customer service is the reason that led me here to write this review. If you chose to move forward with this negligent company, save yourself the hassle and throw your deductible into the wind, and be prepared to repair it yourself.

    My experience has been horrible with Choice because they failed to properly warn or inform me of a limited liability amount of $500 prior to service being rendered by the technician. The resolution representative was the rudest and couldn't explain how the company Choice contracts with doesn't have a guide to charge within for services rendered. Choice should not decide on a provider who likely will charge more than what will be covered under a customer's plan per policy. The customer should be given an option to choose whom they'd like to use for work if there is no negotiations of rates done with the technician in Choice's contract previously.     The repair shop called, let me know what time frame he would arrive, called when on way keeping me informed. Repairman was polite, friendly, quick. Repaired refrigerator and cleaned up mess. Reassembled and instructed how to clean grill when I asked.. I was impressed with the quality service.

    Nothing is covered under warranty. Make sure you read the fine print. Exclusions galore. Would not recommend. Look around before purchasing one. The contractor they sent was very friendly, explained everything to us, and did everything very quickly. I would recommend him.

    Great company. It just took a while to assign a technician to come out to diagnose my appliances. They did give me the option to pick my own technician but that takes too much time out of my day.     At first I was disappointed because of lag in communication. However the technician from Air Choice consoled me by his professionalism. I appreciate your response to his diagnosis.
