I was looking at all the different hot tub manufacturers and I did some research on the internet. Cal Spas is a larger company and if I had any issues with my spa, I wanted someone to be there in the future, to be able to fix my problems so I went with them. I got the Escape spa and I've been using it for a year now. I like the size of the hot tub, how many jets there were and how large of a company Cal Spas is. The installation experience was good. Their reps were professional and knew what they were doing. In the past, I have had problems trying to get a hold of somebody in there and that’s the only issue.

Overall, it was a good experience. But the one issue I had with Cal Spas is trying to figure out how to use my computer on the spa, how to make it where it can be on for four or six hours at this period, and six hours at another period. That was the hardest part about having the spa. I complained about it and nobody went out of their way to help me out. Nobody came over and told me how to do it. That was my biggest beef with this whole thing. Nevertheless, Cal Spas hot tub has made my life more enjoyable. I’m a driver for a living. So after driving all day, it sure feels nice to come home and relax in my hot tub. In the colder weather, I’m not utilizing it that much. Otherwise, I usually use it everyday. It’s got a lot of jets, waterfall and lighting. It’s the largest hot tub they sell. It’s a foot larger than the rest.

I live in Southern California and Cal Spas was everywhere. It’s a name we’re familiar with and my husband selected it. We bought a 2017 Patio spa. It says 735B Cal Gazebo. The installation was fine and the people who came were on time and professional. They set everything up for us.The salesperson was great at first, then it just went downhill. We bought it at the fair in September and I was approved for credit. Then, I received a letter in the mail what the monthly payments are. We discussed at the fair that there would be no interest for the first six months so we got it.

When we were already setting up the delivery, the salesperson said that my application didn’t go through. So, I said I didn’t want the spa. Then he said he hasn’t really checked. I said it was okay. It was not meant to be. He said he had my social right there, he put it in and that everything was taken care of. I said I told him that I didn’t want the spa anymore and he said they had already set up the delivery date. I called back and complained to somebody about it. He did it under a wrong name so I said it was fine and told him to forget it. But he must have submitted my application again and it went through the second time. It was weird to me too, like, they have lost it, and they still wanted to make the delivery. It wasn’t even saying anything in my credit either. I have a credit report, like a monitoring and it didn’t even show up. Still, it was delivered. They must have lost my paperwork.

We had a hot tub that was aging, it was over 10 years old, and we knew it was getting close to the time to replace it. So, we popped in Cal Spas' display at the state fair in Minnesota. There was a sales representative there that noticed us, introduced themselves and asked us if we had any questions. We began to discuss our situation with them and made the decision to purchase. Their installation team showed up at the appropriate time. I had removed the old hot tub from behind the house and had it sitting on the cement slab in front of our house when they got there. They were equipped with their dollies to take the new hot tub and bring it into the backyard. They put it on the slab where I had prepared a spot for it and installed the cover. They removed the old hot tub from the front yard, made sure everything was okay and they left like they said they would. I was happy.

It has been a year now. Last September, we visited the Cal Spas exhibit at the state fair again. We were hoping to let somebody know how happy we were with our purchase. We stood around for a while, hoping someone would come to talk to us. But we were ignored, so we left. Some friend of ours also went to the state fair this year and visited the Cal Spas exhibit there. They also had the same experience and didn't seem to get anybody's attention. They ended up going down to the jacuzzi exhibit and purchased a jacuzzi hot tub.

Within two months of us owning it, a PVC fitting at the base of where the filter was attached in the filter compartment came loose. It just separated from the hot tub and the filter came forward into the surface. We called Cal Spas and they seem to be aware of this issue, almost like it was a common thing. They sent me a part which I installed. We paid almost twice as much for it than we did for our previous hot tub, which we had running for 10 years straight. It was on 24/7, 365 days a year and we had absolutely no problems with it, with the exception of the bearings going bad, which is a normal thing, and a couple of jets loosening up and not staying in.

When the screw fitting on the base of the filter separated, we had to replace two filters which were extremely expensive. They are 80 bucks a piece, where I'm just used to spending in the lower 30s for the old hot tub. Cal Spas replaced one filter for me though when I went to the store and complained about it. I like the spa and it seems to be a quality tub, but I don't have the brand loyalty with Cal Spas that I thought I would develop.

I saw the commercials of Cal Spas but a friend of mine purchased from them at the State Fair grounds and recommended them. I got the hot tub from Cal Spas in Woodbury, Minnesota and when I talked to the sales guy, the interaction was fine. I asked him if I could get the state fair pricing that they offered my buddy and any accessories that came with it. They said yes but I had to do it quickly. So, I went there and showed it to my wife who said it looked nice. At the show, they had an additional railing that goes up for beer glasses and when I asked about it, the rep said they didn’t have those anymore so my buddy got more accessories that what we ended up getting. It was kind of a bummer wanting the same thing that my buddy had and it ended up not being the same.

The installation went great and the installers were awesome. I told them where we wanted it and we were given good suggestions. There were no issues at all. The quality of the tub is fine but I used Jacuzzi before and it was easier to keep the water cleaner and pure than it is with the Cal Spas. I still need to contact them to get set up to have the chemical training. I travel a lot, so it’s tough to get that set up so, I’m gonna put that one on me.

We purchased a CAL SPAS in July 2018. It was installed and filled and turned on and it immediately tripped the circuit. Installers removed a panel and there was water everywhere inside pouring onto the controls on the control panel side of the tub. Turns out Cal Spas shipped the tub with a part of the plumbing installed BACKWARDS... it was fixed immediately by our installer. Two days later the LED lights on the panel side of the tub were out of color sync with the rest of the tub and eventually stopped working completely. Then the lights on the waterfall started doing the same thing. Another service call and the connections were fixed. It lasted a week and the waterfall lights were out of color sync again. Another service call to reconnect the wiring.

A day later the lights were out of sync again and on this service call they wrapped things with electrical tape. It lasted a day and it happened again. Emails to Cal Spas went unanswered and we had to get nasty with her seller/service guys. Now there is an entire "dome light" set up on order and they have to replace the whole unit. The hot tub is built cheap and we shouldn't have issues like this, especially for 13k! Hate the tub now because I feel like I got taken for a ride. There have been 5 service calls for a new hot tub and each time I need to take off work and removing decking for the service guys to reach the tub panels. I wasted my money and I feel stupid.

We were looking for a tub with eight or 10 person seating capacity. We got Cal Spas because of the price point and it got what we wanted. We went to two other ones in the Metro, and Cal Spas also appeared to have the best customer service. They were really easy to work with from a negotiation perspective. When one of our jets broke on the hot tub, they gave us a new one to put in. They didn’t charge us. They just asked us when did we buy the tub. We gave them a date and they gave us what was needed. They’ve been helpful. And during the sales, it wasn’t like a sales environment where they were pushing you to purchase it. It was more of a conversation of what you were looking for.

The installation was good. The installers came and did it all. I was just a little annoyed that when we purchased the tub, they only told us the width, not the height requirement type of thing, and there shouldn’t be any problems to get it through the fence door. But when they came, the tub had to go under our garage and we had to cut a panel out of our fence. It was our own problem to figure it out though. Overall, it was a fine experience. We use the tub two or three times a week and it helps with my shoulder soreness. The jets seemed of good quality too.

My wife had a hot tub in her previous marriage, and we haven’t had one. She was interested to have one for us. When we were at a state fair, we looked at hot tub brands and we liked Cal Spas. We got this brand because of the material that the tub was made out of and the fact that Cal Spas was located close to where we live. So if we needed service, that wouldn’t be an issue. There was trouble getting the tub under the deck, so I had to help figure out how we were gonna get it in there. We had to dig out part of the ground. They had to call extra guys, and it was a real chore to get the tub in there. But they got it in. And then they cracked one panel when they were putting it in, but they replaced that so that was no big deal.

I'm 63 years old, but I’m a competitive athlete still. So, I use the tub a lot and I love it. It gives me muscle relaxation. It has one giant jet that I use and it’s like getting a massage. It helps my sore muscles quite a bit. Everything has been good with Cal Spas. It’s all been a positive experience and they were really good about showing us how the tub is operated and they kept me going.

The Cal Spas customer service is better than a lot of other hot tub manufacturers. Their team takes care of our problems and they usually answer our questions in a timely manner. I've used Cal Spas for 15 years and just a year ago, I bought a 7-foot by 7-foot tub. It was dropped off and I just told the team where it had to be. Then I put the water in and wired it. Everything went fine as far as I know. And I would buy another tub from Cal Spas and anyone looking into getting one should consider them.

I've seen Cal Spas several times at our state fair, and the people who I talk to that have Cal Spas are usually really happy with them. We ordered the hot tub at the fair and then Cal Spas custom-made it and they brought it in. I love the tub and I use it just about everyday. This is our first hot tub at home, and it's 90 feet by 93. It has a Minnesota winterized package on it because we get really cold during the winter. It has two 240-volt pumps, which are the higher-end pumps.

The hot tub makes my legs and knees feel a heck of a lot better, and the family enjoys it. My wife can come home and sit in her own spa as opposed to one at the club. It has good points and bad points. The bad point being that I have to watch the chemicals in it a lot. It's not really hard for me to do, but I make sure I do check it every couple of days because it's gonna be hard for me to change the water out if it gets very alkalined or the cyanuric acid builds up.

The Cal Spas team was really good. I am having a little bit of a problem right now with a couple of things that got screwed up in the order. I was supposed to have a removal bar and they brought the L-shaped bar, which actually worked to my benefit. But I still haven't got them to come down and put on the brackets for the cover. I've called a couple of times and they said they'll have their service guy call and I've never gotten a phone call. I can slip the top off right now, so I'm using it.

The jacuzzi is on the south side of my house and there are windows there. With the sunlight hitting those windows and refracting back down into the jacuzzi area, the sunlight is warping the panels on the side of the jacuzzi. So I'm gonna have Cal Spas look at it. But from the standpoint of the jacuzzi running and the jets, I love it. I ordered my chemicals from Cal Spas online and they came within 3 days or 2 days tops. So, I was really happy that they came so fast. I would recommend them.

One of the items that I had ordered was not included in the swim spa, so they had to reorder the swim spa, remove it, and deliver a new one. It was a big production but they did it without much problem at all. They did an excellent job. I use the tub about four times a week for relaxing and socials. Their customer service team was fine over a year ago but there was no follow-up. Cal Spas though has a great product and if I had to buy another hot tub or a swim spa, I would go to them first.

I was at Bloomsburg Fair and Cal Spas showed me their cut out. It was a lot deeper for me. I'm a bigger guy, so with their cut out with the fiberglass and wood in there, I figured getting their tub would probably be the best route to go. The warranty is also awesome. The manufacturer is great and the tub works great and I love it. However, the people at the store are **. Wilkes Pools is the one that I'm dealing with and working with them is a lost cause. The service sucks. Also, they gave me different steps. In October, they put in a tub that has their own color. In January, they changed the color of it. But when they did that, they broke a panel. They still haven't come back to repair that and they're not returning my calls.

Wilkes Pools gave me the runaround. I went up to the store one time and tried to talk to them but they acted like they weren't there and that they didn’t wanna hear. The tub is lighter too. Additionally, the documents I have say that the unit should be a three-pump, but what I have only a two-pump. I'm gonna try to call Wilkes one more time, and if they don’t answer this time, I'm calling a lawyer.

I wanted a smaller size spa than I had before and I wanted the lounge thing. When we looked around the whole showroom of the Secard pool store in the area, the Cal Spa that we purchased was the one size and everything I wanted. It's very pretty and it's much easier to maintain than my other one. My other one was mineral and this one is chlorine. However, I'm disappointed in the strength of the jets. I bought the plug and play one but my other one was almost that strong when I had all of them opened and when I switched to just the one I was sitting in. It was almost too strong and it was really good, while the jets of the Cal Spa are not as strong as I expected, but it's acceptable to me.

I was also disappointed with the installation because the people that installed it didn’t know anything about the spa. They asked me which way I wanted to turn it and I said that the step should be where you have the button. It turned out that the side that has the area to grab to get in and the nonskid flooring part ended up against the wall of my house. I barely got someone to come over and turn it for me. They also told me to dump so much chlorine in. I looked at the directions and they had me put way too much chlorine in. I went to the store and complained. The rep there said that the installers don’t know anything and that they just deliver the spa. I told them that I was really disappointed with the service.

Also, there are cup holders over at the lounge chair where I put my feet and not over on the other side. There's an area where I can put my cup, but the actual cup holder is where I'm not even sitting. I miss it though. I've emptied it to get it moved and I haven't had it for a month or so. Nonetheless, I'm happy with my Cal Spa. It totally impacts my life and I enjoyed the relaxation in the evenings before I go to bed.

We moved into the house in 2016 and we knew we wanted a spa of some kind. Cal Spas had a gazebo structure and a soft base to put it on, which we had the space to use. It was the full package as well as a high-quality spa. The installation was more involved than the salesman said, but the installers did a bang-up job. They said all we needed was have the site mostly level, but when we arrived there they said it had to be absolutely level. Luckily, where we put the spa was readily accessible and we had a bunch of crushed rocks for resurfacing our backyard. They used that and leveled the site, then they put up the soft base, put the tub on and erected the gazebo. Then we called the electrical guy who finished the hook-up, which was a little more stressful and expensive.

The tub is a beautiful addition to the house. My wife is a nursing assistant and does a lot of lifting in her work. Her back would bother her and I have arthritis in my legs. The tub was wonderful and really helped both of us before I came down with ALS. In addition, the spa store people have been very responsive and good at helping out when we had problems. They said they refer people all the time and that doesn't mean anything. The whole thing was negative and I was unimpressed. They were not really eager to find a solution and just said what it would cost for the part to get replaced. But since I wanted to get the tub back up and running, they replaced the part. Other than that, I'm glad I have the tub. I use it once a week and my family uses about that often.

We had known someone else who has Cal Spas and we liked their quality. The interaction with their rep was good and if we had questions, they were answered. Everything about their product has been good as well, and it's working the way it’s supposed to. We have used the Cal Spas hot tub for about a year now. The tub has been used for relaxation more than anything else and I like the location of the jets and the aura that the tub provides.

The only thing we didn't realize was how much maintenance there would be. We thought we'd be able to higher the floor spa for it but we couldn't. There was a lot more than we expected a little less way. We'd be less likely to recommend above ground spa but as far as Cal Spas, we would recommend it if somebody wanted one.

Years ago, we went to a Cal Spas store and bought a spa that we didn't have a problem with. It's a smaller one we had it in our home in Southern California. I bought another one which is big and it cost me about $1,200. There was a store that sold Cal Spas not far from where I live. The spa installation was all right but it cost quite a bit. I had to have a crane pick it, take it over the roof of my house and put it down. I then had to have an electrician come and makes changes.

But the salesman ordered the wrong cover for it when it came out to the house so he had to get another smaller cover. And since I paid more, they offered me the pool you use to exercise inside. I took that but they didn't offer to bring it to my house so we just recently picked it up. We're getting ready to install it but something happened. The latch of the spa is totally broken and the spa is starting to rust a little. The salesman said they would bring the latch and install a new one on the 22nd so I can't use the spa until then.

Also, the salesman had never been particularly helpful but he was responding to this mostly. But after I called and told him that I received a call, they were replacing the product. But nobody could tell how the latch could have been broken in this new spa. I am very dissatisfied. If they give some responses and somebody could determine what happened and how this would never happen again, that would be good. But so far, I certainly haven’t gotten my money’s worth out of my spa yet. I was injured and I’m still hurting. I am recovering and the warm water would help. I got the spa because I thought it could be some sort of convenience.

We have seen Cal Spas at the Minnesota State Fair over a year ago. We liked the idea of having a hot tub, and we got ours in September of last year. The experience is mediocre though. The guy who sold it to me told me that I could put it on gravel. But then, the store here locally said, "No, you can't." And so, I put down a sand base. They told me they would supply a free pad. But, when they delivered the hot tub, there was no pad. Also, the installer said it was fine to go on the sand, so they put in on the sand and left. And it was not leveled. The hot tub went down. They said that was good enough. They were in a rush. It was raining, so I got that they did not wanna be there. That was a pretty miserable day. Then, I did not interact with the store anymore because they cannot supply the pad.

Nevertheless, we enjoy the tub a lot every day. Just make sure you are there during delivery to make sure everything gets done correctly. Otherwise, everything works great and as it should. The unit itself is great, but the interaction with the sales technician at the state fair down to delivery was not a great experience.

I've used ConsumerAffairs and checked out some other spas. But Cal Spas was local to me within 15-20 miles so it made it a little easier to go see what they were all about rather than drive 50 miles to go visit another manufacturer. I decided to get a Cal Spas tub because of the number of the jets and the fact that it's 36 inches deep. It was big enough for me to sit in because I'm not a small guy. The installation part of it was okay. Deciding to buy the spa and writing up the contract was okay. But it was the interactions afterwards that I wasn't too happy about. The guy that said he would be available wasn't. The only time I could get a hold of him was through email and that would be three or four days or a week later.

Cal Spas tub seems to work okay as far as the jets and the pumps and all that. But it's expensive to run. It's got two 6 horsepower pumps in it, which seem to work. But it doubles or triples my electric bill. So what benefit am I getting from it if I can't afford to run it? I spent $8000 and it doesn't do me any good. The spa was a little expensive. But I like nicer things so I bought it anyway. I also bought it for medical reasons because I have a back issue and a knee issue and I was trying to get some kind of a water therapy for my back. The first few months was fun. It worked all right. But it's not giving me any benefit now. It's just sitting there. I've also thought about selling it and it's not even a year old. Plus I also could never get the chemicals right in it, which isn't really their fault.

We would ask him the right questions and he answered them. They did a good job in the installation. When I got home from work, my wife said it was ready to go. The hot tub is great. It's more for my wife but my kids are enjoying it as well. I like that we can spend more time outside in the winter. When it's cold you don't hang out outside but you can in a hot tub.

I've been talking to a buddy of mine who is thinking about getting one and I told him that Cal Spas hot tub has a very good quality and works really well. I also told him to try to go with a bigger tub than what he thinks because the tub gets crowded as the kids start to grow. My tub's cover has broken already and they have the hydraulic one. We haven't had time to bring it in but hopefully, it's covered under warranty. I would recommend the Cal Spas tub.

We were getting rid of our pool and a hot tub was the other option. There were two providers at the fair but we liked Cal Spas better. Their salesman was good although he undersold how much work it's gonna be. He told us that all I gotta do was change the filters every month, but it was more of a surprise and it made it easier to buy it when it sounded like it’s very little maintenance than what it really is. We found our own electrician to do the wiring and did most of the work ourselves.

We’re glad we got the tub, but it took a while to get used to everything you gotta do, with the right amount of chemicals and when you need to do it. It’s a learning curve but we’re getting through that now and it seems to be a lot better. We enjoy the tub and we love it. We’ve looked at other companies but the quality of Cal Spas is better than anything else out in the market. A friend of ours bought from the other place at the same fair that we did and they regret going with the other company. Ours was a better deal and a better product.

I've had my Cal Spas hot tub for about five years. The work they did was fine but there were issues with getting it delivered. We bought it in the Twin Cities area, Metropolitan Minneapolis where we live, and we had it delivered 140 miles away. We ordered it in the fall and the model that we purchased was a floor model because they gave us a great deal on it. The issue that we had is that it had water in it when it was on the floor of the showroom. And in the interim of getting it taken off the showroom floor, drained, and delivered to Northwestern Wisconsin, it was early November so it froze.

I told their rep that maybe we should be putting antifreeze on the tub, but he said no and that it would be fine. So we had it installed, had an electrician come out, filled it up with water, and turned it on, then water started spraying everywhere. We had to go through several conversations and had the owner of the place call us. And my wife told him that we asked about putting insulation on the tub before since it was going to be delivered in November. He admitted that we had asked that specific question and eventually, we got a new tub and they made it right.

The whole process took three weeks. It was installed by the time we told them it had to be installed. We love our new tub and since the one that we’ve had the bad experience with, we bought a new one. And the second time, we bought the biggest non-swim spa that they have and they installed that last summer. It’s been awesome and they did everything correctly. We have a Master Spas at home that we like, but it’s old. And when that one goes in the next couple of years, we will probably buy another Cal Spas, because we like the spas. They seem to be well built and if something goes wrong, as long as they make it right at the end of the day, that’s all that matters.

Also, their showroom was nice. I just bought my spa in August. It seats five people. It’s a package deal where I got the steps, the cover and everything for about $3900. I got a good deal and they told me who to contact for financing and the financing has been good.

I was not impressed with the delivery at all though and the installation was awful. We were scheduled for 7:30 in the morning and they showed up at 6:30 on a weekday. We were still in bed and we had to jump up. Also, they had asked me to send in the measurements of my backyards and patio, which I did. But the tub was still too big, so we had to cut a part of my roof to get it there and the roof still hasn’t been fixed. But the tub is a really good product. I use it for about four times a week and it makes a big difference. I have somebody that comes every week to put the chemicals in and it has worked just fine as I didn’t wanna deal with chemicals. I sell insurance and work a lot of hours, so it’s nice that I have somebody that just comes once a week and test everything out for me.

It's a little smaller than our older one, but we’re happy with it so far. We are enjoying it. We’ve already had a problem with it where we had to have them come out and fix it. One of the jets was broken when it was installed. And so, it wouldn’t work when we started using it. But I am hoping it’s just a one-off.

The only other thing that's kind of a negative, we had speakers installed in it, and where the Wi-Fi antennae is located makes it very difficult to connect to so it’s spotty. You can’t just go and turn on the speaker. You have to go and stand here and there and cross your fingers. We may end up having to take out the antennae and put it in a different location. But overall experience is good. Seems like a great spa. We haven’t had it a long time but we’re happy with it so far.

Cal Spas is refusing to warrant the spa claiming chemical abuse after reviewing a video I sent to them showing the caulking and plumbing coming apart. Model: Bel Air 851B, serial: 16S-005856, purchase date: 5-23-16, delivery date: 7-30-16. Numerous problem dates. Had to get a police detective to get the spa because the dealer went to jail and abandoned his business. Cal Spas would not help. Within 2 weeks the jets were blowing out, went back and forth with Cal Spas (Robert ** and Karen **) to get those replaced for 7 months. Started noticing white flakes in the water within the 1st year, called a Cal Spas dealer in Utah who refused to help and said it was hard water. Did a test to confirm it was not biofilm. Several filters broke from the bottom and ended up in the water. Reported that to the parts department, no response to several emails.

Spa cabinet is deteriorating and warping. Reported that to the Utah dealer and Cal Spas in October 2017. Also reported the spa had been tripping the breaker since the summer intermittently. Utah dealer refused to repair the issue as I was too far from his store (75 miles). Spoke to Cal Spas warranty department (Marfelia **) who agreed to let me find someone else willing to do the repair. The only closest company, Brady's (60 miles away) agreed. They replaced the control box and just put screws in the panels. Cal Spas did offer to replace the panels under warranty, but was going to charge me $114 to ship them, which I still dispute because they are covered under warranty. They also charged me to ship the control box, plus I had to pay the trip charge for the repairs, even though labor is covered under the warranty.

The repair did not fix the tripping issue and is now a daily occurrence, which they tried to blame on the power company at first, then the electrical work (which I had checked) and now they say maybe a new pump would help (at my expense, of course)...fact is, they have no idea what is causing this and I believe it is a stalling tactic until the warranty expires. Two weeks ago I did a water change. While cleaning the interior shell, I discovered that the sealant around ALL of the jets and the filter housing is coming off in chunks and has the consistency of putty, yet very sticky like tree sap. I tried to clean it off the best I could, but even touching it causes it to fall off. I filled the tub so it wouldn't freeze and it tripped the breaker 3 times during start-up. So, I took off the access panel to look inside for a leak.

At that time I noticed all of the plumbing is full of this sealant and then suspected that was the cause of the "white flakes" I had been seeing for the last year. I talked to Brady's and Cal Spas and also sent them both a video of the issue. I was advised to do a super chlorinated flush, even though I told them I just changed the water, the stuff will not come off my shell (let alone the pipes because it is too sticky) and that the sealant is not causing the breaker to trip (even though I was told by Brady's it could). Cal Spas asked for a photo of my pillows (which have some wear after almost 2 years-warrantied for 90 days) and now claim chemical abuse as the reason to not honor the warranty to fix the issue estimated at more than the cost of a new tub.

They claim that, although I am using the right chemicals, they believe I may have used too much and that caused the plumbing to fall apart, yet they advised me 2 days prior to do a super chlorination (which I did not do). If my supposed "high use" of chemicals would cause this, why wouldn't a super chlorination? The fact is, my water is always balanced and checked weekly or before I go in (1-2 times a week). I am very meticulous about the chemistry. I believe they are claiming this to intentionally void the warranty. I offered a water sample, but that does not stop them from claiming it could have happened "any time" within the time I have owned it. I believe Cal Spas is responsible for the manufacturing ERRORS of this tub that are causing it to now fall apart.

I issued a complaint against them and their response was, of course, still chemical abuse and they wanted me to provide a chemical analysis of the "white powder" (they said) that is floating in the water. Which is crazy because that "white powder" they are referring to is THEIR sealant and THEY should know what it is made of. And, now I'm curious what it is made of, too. Perhaps it is a hazardous substance that is putting my family's health at risk from being in the tub. But, as you see, yet again they are avoiding the issue and laying the responsibility on me, the consumer, to avoid warranting this hot tub. I have a video showing exactly what is happening because it is difficult to explain in writing. It can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjFWGDbZUvA&t=1s.

I am very satisfied with my decision to purchase a swim spa from Cal Spas. I got one for medical reasons and I've had it for about nine months now. Everything went smoothly with the installation. Since it's a swim spa, the area wasn't big enough so I had to dig out some dirt and had someone to put cement on there. Then when that was all done, the hot spa came. The installers had to lift it over with a crane, bring it down and set it right. The other guy was there guiding it to make sure nothing happens. They also had an electric guy over at the same time and they set all the electric up to 240 then hooked everything up.

Since I was new to having a spa, I went down to Cal Spas a couple of times to clarify some things I wasn't sure of. I was a little confused how things work like with the pH and sanitizing. Every time I would do what I read or what I used to put in there, it was still showing a little different than what it should be. Also sometimes, the water gets a little cloudy that I am wanting to shock it. Still, the spa is therapy for me and it relieves the pain in my legs that I'm having.

When I bought the spa last year, they came and just dropped it off. I thought that they were actually gonna give me a tutorial or explain it, but no. And that was an issue. I was reading over the manual and I wasn’t really getting it. I had to call the place because there were a lot of things I wasn’t sure I was doing the right way. I called the number and they were trying to explain, but it’s harder when they're not there showing you. For that, I did not have a good experience. But they told me the products that came with it and that I needed to put one in the water. As far as filling up, I wasn’t sure if I was doing it right because you gotta fill up through the filter where the filtration system is. And I was a little confused as to whether I had to take off some filter or fill it up with the filter on.

Also, I haven’t used the spa that much. When I used it for a little bit, my electricity bill went up super high. It was a $200 difference and I don’t think it was supposed to be that much. I know other people who have spas and they say that it shouldn’t be that much as well. So I disconnected it. But I am planning on using it again in the summer because at least with us, our power bill comes every two months. I wanted to make sure that that was the issue or it was something else.

We drive by Cal Spas' store every day. When we went to their store, it was nice. We could bring water and they would test it for us. They would also give us advice on how to treat the water and on different things to manipulate it. We got a five-seater hot tub from them which was their best seller. It's got four seats on one side and the lay-down tub when you come in the entrance. We also got a gazebo cover that made it a good deal. However, the way the salesperson pitched the hot tub to us wasn’t exactly what she said, but I’m not sure if she knew what she was talking about. When one half of the spa has the jets going, the other half won't. I looked into it and that's just the way it's supposed to be. If I knew it was like that, I would’ve purchased a bigger, more expensive one.

The third-party installer did an okay job, but I had to go through and tighten a lot of the bolts in the gazebo and fix a lot of things, although this was just basic repair. And then when they put the actual hot tub in, the drain was unplugged. I should have checked it because as I was filling it, it was just draining everywhere. I call my fault on that, but they should’ve checked it before I started filling it up.

The tub also had a couple of problems. After I plugged the drain back, there was another leak somewhere inside it. So, a technician came and had to fix that. Then there was another issue with the tub and I had to leave for a few weeks, and the good thing was the techs came out right away. Also, it was no cost on our end for fixing it since these were all covered under warranty. But we've had the hot tub for nine months now and over time, we've realized that it was just a bad purchase and we shouldn't have done it. We should've invested 7,000 into something else.

We wanted a swim spa and we checked out different ones, and they were over $30,000. Since there's just the two of us, so we don’t need a bunch of bells and whistles. So, we decided that swim spa would work for us. The installers came and hooked up everything. And they didn’t have a part of the stairs so they took that away and then I went back down and picked it up down in Sacramento, just about an hour and 15 minutes away from here. Our swim spa got 1300 gallons of water in it and it's got two chairs type that do different things where you’re sitting in a recliner thing. And then on the side, it’s got single jets where if you wanna have a bunch of people that could all be doing something. Or you could just do the swim thing, which my wife has done a couple times and she enjoys it.

So far, the spa is working good. However, we only got to enjoy it for a few months before winter came. And then when we got them two $220 bills back-to-back, we said, “Okay. We’re gonna have to shut her down.” So, we haven’t enjoyed it for four months now. It’s just sitting there. It’s just too expensive to run during the winter which I didn’t know about. If we would’ve known about that, maybe I might not have gotten it. We've had our Cal Spas for almost a year now and I have referred my neighbors and they went and bought a spa the next week we bought ours.

I’ve known about Cal Spas for years and we’ve had this tub for about a year. The sales rep was good and she gave us and told us everything. The tub that we got has a waterfall in it. It has four seats and a lay-down, so it’s a big one. The installation of the tub sucked. They were a bunch of clowns that were here and it took them forever to put it in. They didn’t know what they were doing. I got tired of watching them. I had seen four guys that didn’t have the slightest clue about what they were doing. But I like the tub and I’ve always enjoyed it since having it installed. However, I have a couple of jets that are broke right now and I need to call Cal Spas.

    Ronald,

I am sorry to hear that your delivery was less than expected, that is certainly not how we want your first experience to be with your new spa. I have contacted the store that did the delivery to let them know what happened. Further I have asked that they contact you without delay to find out what jet inserts you may need and get them to you right away. Best Regards

Cal Spas is the third tub we've purchased but is the first one we bought new so it's good. We got the tub from Secard Pools and the reps were great. When we got home, we realized it was too big that it wouldn't fit. We called them back immediately and told them it was too big. We had to go to a smaller size and we had to go back to the same place again. They had to custom-order it. The installers were great and the tub now fits. We've had the tub for about a year now and we like it. We use it for relaxation and we go in it twice a week.

I’m 61 years old and I’m disabled. My husband is also disabled so his knees are really bad. He has always wanted a spa, so I bought the Cal Spas for him for Father’s Day. We installed it ourselves. We just had them put it on the patio where it was gonna go and we just hooked it up. My husband is retired from maintenance he provided for the San Benito County so he knows codes. We enjoyed using the spa. However, it was too cold in the wintertime even though it was a warm spa. We live in the high desert and we get a breeze so we’re gonna put a wall or something up so that we don’t get a breeze.

I noticed that the paint on the steps was not very sturdy. One night, I was getting out and I had my one foot on the first step and I had a hold of the rail. I was pulling over the top and when I stuck my left foot, the other foot, on the step, it slipped right out from under me. My hand slipped like if I was hanging on to something wet and slipped, so I went completely down. I landed with my right leg backward and my back on the steps. So I had a huge bruise from sliding down the step on my back and I had bruising on my foot. I went to the hospital to be x-rayed and they didn’t see any broken bones, but they were very surprised because I had looked like I had broken my foot. I was in a lot of pain.

I fell about four months after I got it and I haven’t been in it since. My husband put some carpeting on the steps so that it’s no longer slippery. But we still need to figure out something to put on the handrails to make them not slip when wet. I’m afraid to get in the spa because of the steps. The steps didn’t come with a warning. Cal Spas should have warned me.

We've had our hot tub from Cal Spas for about six months now and we love it. However, my experience with the sales guy was a little jaded. But since I'm in sales myself, I understand being rushed. Cal Spas was busy at that time as there were a lot of people on the showroom floor and they had a lot of orders. The installation also didn’t go as well as I thought it would be. The salesperson did the measurement for the installation and I was asked for a certain amount of an access to my backyard to pour a slab. But then when their team came out, they needed more than what they said. A slab got poured the whole alleyway and then they asked for a certain amount of access to my fence. I called Cal Spas and they worked with me, but they didn’t really want to hear about it. So I paid an extra $150 to my contractor who was pouring the slab to redo my whole fence and take out the additional three and a half feet.

Also, the quality of the hot tub is a little below what I thought it would be in regards to the paneling on the side where the motor is. It’s starting to deteriorate a lot faster. In addition to that, the buckles have already broken for the top that is heavy. But, we’re enjoying the spa. The kids love the low hill type of fountain. The hot tub is not getting as much of the action though because we're on a high desert and we have a lot of winds.

My hot tub had gotten damaged and my son-in-law told me that everybody told him that they make better ones at Home Depot. So, I got online and I ordered a Cal Spas hot tub. And it’s been bad. They first brought the first one in the summertime and it was used. The guy who brought it up wouldn’t even back into the yard and it’s a whole big safe here. And I gave him permission. They got stuck up. I had to get a bunch of people in, and they carried it and got it up on here. The guy helped them, he knows nothing was dropped, and when they set it up, water was pouring out and you could smell nothing but pure chlorine.

My first hot tub from another provider was way better. It was sealed completely around. Water didn’t get in it, underneath it, and into the speakers. And the wind didn’t blow water underneath it either. With Cal Spas, one whole set is not even sealed and I kept trying to tell them. I’d talked to one lady from Cal Spas and she said, “Well, they’re made that way.” Anybody who’s got common sense knows that a hot tub has to sit down on what I call a cage. It has to sit completely on that and didn’t seal around it. It keeps the cold air out from under there. And I’ve tried to tell her that the gap is so big, that that ice cold wind goes straight up and under that hot tub, and the heater does not keep off at all on freezing or cold nights.

I have given them a year to do right. I ordered the tub from homedepot.com and not from CalSpas.com. So, when I order it from Home Depot, Home Depot should be the one taking care of me and not tell me to call this one or that one. And nothing gets done, and I’m still sitting here with this messed up hot tub with speakers that go in and out now and sometimes completely off because they’re destroyed by the winter.

The sales reps of Cal Spas didn’t really pressure and gave us plenty of time to think about it. And we got a great deal. And when they said it would be here in four to six weeks, it was. The people that came in installed our Cal Spas tub quick and easy after we had the electricians come out. They were very helpful in showing us how to keep it clean and where to put the filters and chemicals. It’s easy to clean the filters with chemicals. The model we got fits the area we needed to put it in.

But for some reason the Cal Spa doesn’t wanna hold temperature quite as well when it’s on the economy mode. I know my Sundance Spa actually held better. For some reason the temperature drops a lot faster when I wanna heat it up to go into the spa. But other than that it’s fine. They are responsive and everything else works very well and it’s comfortable. It’s wonderful especially when your body’s a little bit sore and tired and you go on in and it’s very restful. The jets are really well for massage or relaxation. And it’s just very enjoyable to go outside and look at the stars. We love it and we’re very satisfied. Their prices are very comparable and we have good customer satisfaction.

Cal Spas had high marks in their reviews and I liked their size options. They were the only spa and hot tub provider that had a 78’’ x 84’’ spa and that also had a lounge. I bought a spa from them in July or August last year and it was the Hawaiian 240-volt model. I knew what I wanted going in. My interaction with the reps was okay and it was what I was expecting. They were typical salesmen. I told them what I wanted, then they gave me the price and said that the spa I wanted was on sale. But since I live in snow, it would have been nice, in buying the spa from the get-go, to have them explain and for me to know about getting a heavier duty spa cover because I bought one after-market later. Cal Spas delivered the spa and put it down where I wanted it outside, then I hired an electrician to do all the wiring. Since the installation of the spa, I have liked and enjoyed it. It’s definitely great to have a spa in the backyard and I’d recommend Cal Spas.

However, I didn't get the response I would have liked from the guy who sold it to me. After they got my money and set the tub up, that guy just shoved me off. I wanted him to be present to help me learn things about the tub. I have had to learn those things myself. That makes me believe that if something goes wrong with my hot tub that I'm going to be pulling teeth to get service after the sale. So I wouldn't recommend Cal Spas.

While my older tub of 10 years was first class and it would probably run longer than my new Cal Spa, I got the new one because it was bigger. My new hot tub is 1,500 gallons. Though I've drained it and it's sitting empty right now, I'm going to be filling it back up in one week and it's going to be making my summer days a lot better. Overall, I'm happy with the product, but the service wasn't that good.

I was buying chemicals from Cal Spas for my old hot tub, which is also a Cal Spas. It was with the house that I bought a little over a year ago. This summer, we traded that tub in on a hot tub from Cal Spas. The purchase of the new one was very easy and quick. The guy who came out and installed the new hot tub was nice. The hot tub works, however, I am having a little bit of a problem with is that the cover was installed on one side, and now it rubs against the house. My old one does not, so I am going to have to call them to come out and fix that.

Also, some of the nozzles are rusting. And I went into Cal Spas and the rep basically told me it was my fault for using chlorine and said to bring some of the heads in. When I bought it, he said chlorine was fine because we were using chlorine in the other one instead of bromine. Also, I literally bought chlorine when I bought the hot tub and they gave me a free bottle of chlorine, too.

So, I'm was like sitting there going, "All right. This is a $10,000 hot tub that I have had for less than a year and you're trying to tell you don't want to fix the problem." I'm like, "I would like someone at my house looking at it. I don't want to start ripping my hot tub apart and bringing parts to this guy." And this is like their main sales guy over at their particular Cal Spas I bought it from. So, now that I own the hot tub, and the way I've been treated since I've owned it, and the Cal Spas that I bought it from, I'd probably never buy another one. The initial experience has been great, but that is not why I buy anything.

We were going to do the initial preview and bought it on site. The salesman was knowledgeable and gave us some good advice. Both my wife and I interacted with hot tubs our whole lives and we’d never even thought that advice was helpful. The installation was great, too. The installers came a week ahead of schedule both on the day of delivery and on the day of logistics. We were timing it up with a project so it required some additional maneuvering to make everything work and they were very accommodating to that project schedule.

We use the tub almost every day and we saved a lot of water because we don’t use the big bathtub up in the master bathroom anymore. Also, Cal Spas is receptive and attentive. We ordered the wrong filters online but they caught that before shipping and were able to get the right ones delivered. The correct filters were incrementally more expensive but they just offered them at the set price that we ordered.

We bought it over in Victorville and the experience was wonderful. The reps were kind and nice. They showed us what we were getting and we got what we ordered. The installation went smoothly too. I was impressed with that dolly that they have. Two guys rolled up with a flatbed and a jacuzzi and they got the thing out on its side. They strapped up this big, wheeled cart, rolled it around and it was in.

So far, everything is good with my experience with Cal Spas. However, they should make the price of the top that goes to the jacuzzi standard and not $299 extra dollars once you spend 5 grand. I'd still tell a friend to buy one and if they get an opportunity to special order the jacuzzis, I would recommend to put the jets in the jacuzzi where they want them and have the reps explain the way that they cycle the jets from one side to the other. Because I didn’t really understand how that worked and how I see what I would do differently if I were able to fix it myself. If my wife wanted to sit in a jacuzzi, instead of us having to sit on the same side if we want full power to the two jets, if there’s an inverter to be able to do one or two or three at the time, get that.

They tried to call Cal Spas and they could not help me either so I unplugged everything and posted the back-up. That helped and it came back up. But I was very disappointed for the knowledge of the spa and that they were not able to tell how to fix things like that. The overall spa is okay. I like the Bluetooth speakers. They’re good when I could get it to work. They were always in and out but I think that was solved.

I had a Cal Spa for probably 15-20 years before I got this one, and for this, I dealt with the owner of Secard Pools and Cal Spas. He was very professional and he gave me a good discount in that. I got the price that I wanted for this new Cal Spa tub, and the installation was very good. Their guys were very efficient, they did it the way I wanted it, and I was happy with them. I enjoy the initial thing about it while it’s warm, but for the last month, I haven’t been able to get in it because I just had a triple bypass. I got in the spa for the first time on Wednesday or Thursday as my doctor said I could get in it for 10-15 minutes, and it felt good.

We inherited an old hot tub with the house and I talked to the guy who works on hot tubs and was recommended by the hot tub supply company, and he said the manufacturer no longer makes them. He said he could help us get a new one, though. And he’s a reseller of Cal Spas, which seemed like a good brand. We've had our hot tub from Cal Spas for seven months, and so far it operates well. It is similar in size to the old one, but since it is newer, it’s easier to use. We really like it. We got it at a good price and it seems to be great. It’s also a nice stress and back pain relieving thing. There was a piece of the spa that was a little bit broken when it came. And I’m having a hard time to reach out to talk to Cal Spas, but other than that, I would recommend them.

When I was growing up, my parents had a spa and there was a door on the front to access the motor if something needs to be done. The new ones don’t seem to have that access to avoid the everyday consumer working on it. But it would be a convenient factor if I needed to have somebody come work on it or if I want to monitor what I needed to do something myself.

My wife was there during the installation and she said that everything went along without a hitch. I was enjoying the tub. It was great but after a week went by without having to use it, this scale on the side formed and it felt like sandpaper. You can reach in there and scrape it away with your fingernails but after scrubbing at it for about half an hour, you get tired of it and you only cleared away about a foot.

We bought an original Cal Spa in 1999. It was a great product and we really liked it, so when we were shopping for another one, we wanted to get another Cal Spa tub. We then got one through a retailer and they arranged to have someone bring the unit to our house. They did a very poor job because when the unit was delivered, it was damaged. They didn't take it back despite weeks and weeks of phone calls and e-mails. I then reached out directly to Cal Spas and they reached out to the retailer many times but the retailer was not responsive. We even had a fight with the retailer through the bank to try to get our money back. But Cal Spa said that for all our trouble they were going to give me a new hot tub for free.

Cal Spas then told me that they dropped the retailer as one of their suppliers and took it upon themselves to find another spa company on Long Island to come out to our house, remove the old hot tub and install a new one. The customer service was great and couldn't have been any better. We appreciated that Cal Spa jumped in when the retailer was unresponsive. They even had executives get involved and speak to us. They really went above and beyond with their customer service.

The tub that we have now however is a little bit different. It doesn't have as much legroom as the one that was replaced. With our old tub, my husband could be sitting on one side and I on the other and we could stretch our legs and feet and the jets massage us but now, we have to bend our knees since it's not as wide at the bottom. But the new one is easy to operate and very relaxing for something my husband and I enjoy doing together.

We bought our first hot tub with all wood from Cal Spas 25 years ago. In 2008, we walked in and bought our second one. We paid cash for it and we noticed that Cal Spas were a little bit cheaper on some things. They took our old hot tub and gave us the money for that. We liked that second hot tub and it was almost eight years old but we never had any issues with it except for a couple of bugs and Cal Spas fixed that. But a sidewinder tornado took it.

So we got a new 2017 64 jet hot tub. We had a 100% deductible with the insurance company and they paid for everything. The insurance went from what we had before so they gave us a check for $12,000 and we went into the store up in Plymouth and got a new one. They did a few wheeling and dealing because we’ve been their customer for years. The hot tub is a little spendy for people because not everybody can whip out $12000 and get a hot tub. And this hot tub that we got cost $11000.

We’re very much impressed with it. The paneling around is way better than the one we had in 2008 because whoever they hired put on our lid wrong on that one and it was a mess. We also got the cool down seats on our new tub and the lights that are all inside. We love that. But we didn't get the radio because we had one before and we did not like it. They were cheap speakers. So we just went out and bought a Bose speaker and saved money that way. We love that because we can do our own music on the Wi-Fi. I also like the idea of the waterfall and that the center chair has all the new sides. The jets are on the sides of your body and it sits up higher, too. The other ones tend to sink down and it’s hard when you’re short like a girl. But my husband is 6’1" and he loves the lounger because it has more jets underneath the calves while the other one did not.

The guys in Plymouth were very knowledgeable and easygoing. They knew us by name because we buy our chemicals there and we go back and forth. I've been such a good customer that every time we go there, they always tell me to not worry and get my chemicals then they pay for my shipping. They’re always that nice and that makes me want to come back and tell all the people about Cal Spas, too. But sometimes, it’s hard to get to Plymouth so we go to this store that my husband passes by. They said they’re the same name brand as Cal Spas and they have all the same filters so it’s nice in that way.

Cal Spas had an open house and when I went to buy the spa, I felt I was welcome. The people explained to me how that thing operates. Their installation team was did a good job, but they didn't install anything. All they did was bring in the hot tub, drop it off and then leave. It took them 45 minutes to an hour to do everything. Though I had to tell them how to do it, they're professional. So far, I love the tub itself. It's the big one and it has that ultrasonic filter. Everything is working fine, however the cover and the piece of cheap tubing that they use to lift the cover is horrible. Cal Spas has a good reputation but then, they provide those cheap cover with a handle. It really ruins the taste.

Other than that, when I went back there because I had a problem, the people at Cal Spas treated me like a stranger. It felt like they want me to stay out, and since they got my business, they don't need me anymore. They won’t even help me with my complaint. I asked them to let me talk to the expert since the spa is not working and I have a single question. Finally, they got somebody, got me in the office, and she was not a professional. She was just going back and forth, three or four times. Finally, I got tired of it. I got home, read the book a little, and I got the spa working. We had Cal Spas install a hot tub around five months ago. The salesperson we had was fine but there was a real disconnect between one of their operation guys from the San Bernardino store. I explained to them that getting a spa into the location would be a bit challenging because there were narrow openings with gates. The guy came out and took a look at it. He said it won’t be a problem and that they can get the spa in there. I was a little doubtful but went with him on it since he’s the expert. The installers came out and took a look at where they had to put the spa and said, “That ain’t going to happen.”

About the time we were having this discussion, my electrician who was working that day at our property was watching what was going on. I knew my wife was getting increasingly agitated because she wanted the spa put in. So, my electrician told us he’s got a friend who has a crane company. He got a hold of this friend and it turned out the guy was down the street finishing up a job. Within 45 minutes he showed up, hooked up his crane, lifted the spa over the top of the house, dropped it on the back, and then the guys installed the spa. It was $350 and Cal Spas paid for it. Other than that, the installation was great. They placed it and it worked out fine.

The other concern we had is that we didn’t get a good education on the proper use of the spa in terms of chemicals. We did as we were told but it overagitated the water in the spa. There’s a water clarifier and there’s bromine. Whenever we turn the pump on we get a lot of bubbles. And then the guy we talked to said we’re not supposed to use bromine and use chlorine instead. So, we switched to chlorine. But at that point, the water had been over-chemicalized that we’re still having a problem. I put the water in about five minutes and then the recommendation is to drain the water and do it again.

They didn’t do a good job explaining to us what to use and what not to use. They weren’t even sure. One said bromine and one said chlorine. At some point, we’re probably going to have to drain the water. Every time we turn on the big pump, it creates this foam. Otherwise, the spa is great. It got lots of jets. We love and enjoy it and I’d definitely recommend it.

The guy from Cal Spas came here and told me that he needed to get a crane to get the hot tub lifted over my house to get in the backyard. I told them I have access to the back, through a lot and they can pull their truck up back there and I'll help them get it up there. They said over and over that it cannot happen and that they needed eight guys. Luckily, I had eight guys working around the corner who could've helped us. But all said and done, it only took three guys to do the same job and get the hot tub. He wanted to charge an extra fee because the delivery was free. And then, he didn’t want to talk and just wanted to leave. I finally convinced him and said, "I'll give you a tip, whatever. Take $100, $200. Just listen to me and I guarantee you we're going to get it up there. It's not that bad. And you can get your truck all the way back to the lot." It was horrible delivery.

Then, we got the tub and it had a blown fuse on it so once the electrical was hooked up, it didn’t work. Then I went back and forth with Cal Spas. Finally, I had to call a third-party person and they came and looked at the spa. I told them that there’s a blown fuse when it was sold to me. They told me all they do is sell spas and they gave me a number and collected my $9000 and put it in their pocket. It was horrible. I did business with Royal Spas out of Indianapolis, Indiana. They manufacture Royal Spas and I used their spa for 10 years. It was an awesome company and I never had an issue. But Cal Spas is garbage. I bought the spa and already one of the jets broke. Now I'm calling them back and waiting what they’ll do on this part. It's a crappy product, crappy service, and crappy people.

We bought our spa in June 2009 and its still looks great and works well. We had a few issues when we originally ordered the spa, which were resolved immediately by the company: The cover lifter we ordered was missing (they sent one). The 75sf filters didn't fit (they replaced them with 50sf filters). There was a crimped hose (they sent someone to replace it.) I was glad we were advised to order 2 covers; we replaced the original cover a couple of years ago with the second one we bought.

But I wish we had not gotten the bromine generator. It was a considerable added expense, the base chemical that makes it work was also expensive and hard to find, and we ended up just using bromine tablets anyway. Next time we might want to try the UV filter. We also had problems with the 24 hour pump and had to disconnect it; we just use the main pump which we find is sufficient for filtering. All in all, we love our spa and use it every day. We'd buy another spa from this company.

Parts were replaced summer of 2016. ALL parts have rusted again & worse and the side paneling is off again. I purchased the spa from Secard Pools in Hemet and all they can do is replace the parts. I have asked both Secard and Cal Spa to reimburse me 75% of the cost and to remove it off my property and they say they cannot. Cal Spa (who built the spa) says it is not their responsibility. We have not been able to use the spa because it is a health hazard. The spa is maintained weekly by a reputable pool services and has been since we purchased it.

I cannot seem to get Cal Spa to understand that it is their product that is faulty and that water equipment should not rust. The Cal Spa Service Manager Karen said that because I have a contract with Secard it is their responsibility. Secard did not build the spa nor do they have the replacement parts, the parts come from Cal Spa. There is no resolve here and Cal Spa will not stand behind their product. Because of their faulty parts, I have not been able to utilize the spa and the spa is needed for my immune disorder, as I am a retired vet who suffers from chronic joint and muscle disabilities, which is why I purchased the spa.

I have a physical disability. I had a knee replacement. So, I get in it and I have paddles that I use to exercise because I can't really exercise because of my back. I do water aerobics. I got a noodle, and I move my legs with the noodle. Also, it helps just to be able to put the pressure on the bubbles on my back and the heat to help with my arthritis pain. I love the spa. It works great. I'm happy and I would recommend it to a friend.

We've had a Cal Spas spa for six months now. They have a really nice facility and a staff that helped us understand what would be the best hot tub to get started with since we were new to hot tubs. So far, the unit that we got works great. I particularly like its maintenance-free aspect. However, what caught us off guard was understanding the level of chemicals required to maintain and use a hot tub. It was downplayed from the beginning all the way until the unit was delivered. There should be a better way to prepare the customers for that.

I owned a Cal Spa which was nice, and since then, I liked it. It was a very old spa, 12 years old, and it was built just right and it was great. Then I went for a swim spa which was a significant upgrade. I got the spa through a dealer but everybody at Cal Spas was great. I had to have a crane for the installation, so I scheduled that. We used A-1 and the guy who came was fantastic. He really knew what he was doing. All the other guys that did the installation were great as well. They set it up and it went as smooth as it can be. When the spa was installed, it had a leak, but Cal Spas came right out and fixed it and it's been fine since. So, everything has been working good. I use the spa a lot and it's still humming along. It helped me to get a little more exercise and some work. It was a quality experience overall.

We drove by one of Cal Spas’ distributors, Secard Pools and Spas, and we were curious about what they sold. We were originally thinking of doing an inground pool but the Swim Spa seemed like a better solution for our needs. The sales person at Secard was knowledgeable about how they work, like the special occasions as far as space around the spa that we would need for it to fit in our yard, so it was a pretty easy interaction. There was one time where I had an issue with a pump that was not wanting to start, and it was a Secard service rep who came out and looked at it.

The Secard team also did the installation and it went well. There was a bit of a tight squeeze to get it down the driveway, but they were really good about making through the clearance and they were quick. Since the installation of our Cal Spa Swim Spa, we have definitely been having fun as a family, hanging out in the spa portion of it when it's just time to relax. Also, it has been good for getting exercise when we would turn the current on and swim against it, so it has been good for our health and mental well-being too. It's definitely worth the money.

The circuit board of my old spa went out and it got too expensive to repair since it’s a rare one. I asked the repair guy what he would recommend and he told me to get a new one from Cal Spas. He used to work for them and said he didn't like the management but he likes their product. I got the seven by seven foot with 51 jets in it, with two six-horsepower motors and has the thing in the center they call the volcano. The sales part was good and I appreciate them supposedly giving me a deal. The installation also went fine other than when the lady came and said to clean the filter. I called Cal Spas about it and they didn’t know what was going on. There was nothing in the book about it as well so they told me to call service then I finally figured it out myself.

I live about 20 miles where Cal Spas is located and I went down there to get a filter. I told them my model number and gave them a piece of paper where I had drawn out the size of the filter. But they gave me a round one and I didn’t realize it was the wrong filter until I got to my vehicle. I could have gone all the way home and have been a little more upset about it. But things happen and I understand that. So far, I have two spas from Cal Spas and they're real nice.

We've had our house for 17 years and its hot tub was built into the ground. The people we bought the house from said they’ve had a lot of trouble with the old hot tub and they weren't going to put any more money into it. So, we fixed it up and kept it running but it didn't have anything, including bubbles. It was just a hot tub. We then called a company out here, six months ago, to replace it, and they recommended Cal Spas tub. I did a little bit of research online and I liked what I saw about Cal Spas as far as how they compare to other hot tubs. I also like that they're American Made.

We got the Cal Spas, and the company that installed it was Texas Landscaping and they were easy to work with. They came in, removed one of my fence panels, took the old bath tub out, filled in the hole that it left and put concrete and rebar in there to put the new spa on top. Nearly all of that happened while I was at work. By the time I got home the fence panel was replaced and the tub was installed and running. All that it took at that point was for them to give me about a 10-minute spa school, and it's been easy ever since.

We use the hot tub quite a bit, so it's been nice. The tub is easy to use, control, keep clean and maintain. It's a lot better with all the jets and controls and its lights work. It's also above ground and I've been happy with the way that it filters, the way it stays clean and with its simple operation as far as operating the jets. I also haven't had to do a whole lot with the tub to keep the chemicals balanced.

The hot tub also has a temperature feature that keeps the temperature at a certain range. And during the summer we could never get the temperature of the hot tub down below about a 105. So, I called Texas Landscape and they said that it was because of the cover that's on the tub. it's over a hundred degrees where we're at, so there's no place for the heat to go. It's not like the heating element isn't heating the hot tub up. It's just the ambient heat in the air. I was told to set some kind of a little can to prop up one side of the cover to release some of that heat. After that, the heat got regulated perfectly.

I did a little bit of research and the price was solid for the size, and with the nano-jets that was put on. So the value and jet layout got me decided on buying it. They did a good job bringing it to the house, then we installed it ourselves and ended up tweaking the water depth. We have it for about a year now and we’ve used it plenty of times. It’s nice and comforting to have in the backyard. The jets made for them are really good. It does the back massage and a good foot massage, ad it's also got the lighting too. Chet, the guy who runs the place, was wonderful. He explained everything and made it really easy. So we got it and had it installed. We had to widen our fence, then we tore up our patio and made more of a rectangular long patio that goes to the back part of the yard. And the guys came in and set it up and they were wonderful. We’ve poured the cement where it's sitting and got a little house for it too, which is for winter.

We got it in May and I love it. We’re in it almost every night, except for when it’s really hot. We have all the colors and this funky little mopping waterfall thingy. My husband wanted the more powerful motor, so we have two levels or two something motor. We also have three buttons on the right-hand side and three buttons on the left-hand side for programming it. It has the MP3 player capability and speakers too.

Because I’m a lot older, the only issue I had was learning how to program it. I don’t like their book. I went online to YouTube, and there’s a perfectly good video that shows how to program it. Plus I worked with Chet. He’s my buddy. Every time I have a question, I call him and he tells me what to do. We’ve only had a few stupid beginner issues. And he was very patient with me and explained things. We were so pleased. The spa also got all kinds of warranties. I’m not anticipating anything happening, but if they do, I’ll just call Chet and I’m sure he’ll take care of it. I’m thrilled, and I recommend.

Cal Spas offers great value, quality, and service. This was the first time we’ve ever gotten a hot tub. My wife and I had looked at different places for a hot tub and we've checked the prices, how we're paying, and what we would get. We found Hot Tub Warehouse which was a dealership for Cal Spas in the Santa Clara area. We looked them up on the internet and drove down there to take a look. I got the Patio Plus Spa and it seemed like the best choice for me. It has an interior sterling color with a gray cabinet. The rep who sold me the hot tub was a good guy. He was also honest about the product.

Overall, I was pretty happy with the delivery. The delivery guys were professional. They took the hot tub in the backyard, set it down, and put it up. They didn’t hook it up, but I already had plans to do the rest by myself. The hot tub is great and I’m pleased with its performance. I use it every other day ever since I got it up and running after I got it hooked up. But it would be a great option to have if Cal Spas offer future models with a feature that would allow water to be hooked up to the hot tub so we can have a heated outdoor shower. There’s plenty of room in the cabinet to have the equipment in there. Since they’re drawing off of the same 240-volt hookup, Cal Spas might as well parallel into that.

Cal Spas has been around for many, many years in California. We go to the county fair down in LA and I can’t remember not knowing about them. One time, they were in my area and had Cal Spas on sale. It was a nice spa with adequate features and it was what we were looking for to replace our old one. They gave me a good price for a spa of that size so I bought it. Since they just dropped it off and gave me a starter kit that had some chemicals, I hired a guy and a crane to put it in place. It was me who put in all the wiring as Cal Spas didn’t do that.

My previous spa had a door that I opened up with a little key and it gave me access to all of the control, the pump and the wiring. With this spa, you have to take the panels off and that’s a little cumbersome since they don’t just come apart. You have to basically unscrew the whole side to get into the control panel and install the wiring. Also, when my wife and I sit in there, it has two sides and they’re on two different pumps. So the right side, you push the jets one, it turns on the right side jets. We turn jets two and it turns on the left side jets. But they don't always come on. And then I try to adjust it so that it blows hard and it's sort of hit and miss.

When I turn on that right side jets, they come on as if it's just circulating water. It doesn't come and blow real hard like in a massage. Maybe there's something funky there that I haven't looked at or maybe I'm just not familiar with the spa like I should be. That's why I haven't called them yet. Lastly, the computer system on the spa is a little confusing when setting it up for the time. My wife does the timing when it comes on to just run like an hour a day and I manage the chemicals. But it's not bad. The spa got a nice, little-lighted system on it and I like it well enough.

But our biggest nightmare was trying to find somebody who would do it especially since we had a gazebo and you’ve got to tear out a wall to get the old tub out and get the new tub in. Most carpenters want to do remodels and new houses and not come spend a day doing a project. My one complaint with my tub though was they took out the handle on my new spa which is similar to the old one I had. My situation was a little complicated and I told the dealer that it would be a good idea to have the installers come out as they might have trouble bringing the old Cal Spa out and the new one in. I knew it was gonna have to go over the house. I have a steep driveway and it was pretty tight then the deck had been built around the old spa so I wanted them to look at it and have a strategy. And then both the installers and the crane operator looked at the situation on Google Earth and said that it won’t be a problem.

They got out there the day we had scheduled to do it the first time and the guys who were going to do the work didn’t get consulted. They looked at it and said that they can't do it as they don’t have enough people and the right equipment. I showed the woman at the dealership pictures of how the area looked and she did not share those with the guys who were gonna be doing the installation. I took a half day off work to be there while they did this and then they couldn’t do it.

The installers said the things that they have to do and so we rescheduled it for the second time. They then had the extra guys and the extra equipment they needed to get the old one out. The crane operator who was also there the first time brought a bigger crane and he was very nice about it. He offered to do it at the original quoted price which I ended up paying him more for because I knew he had to come out twice. Basically, it cost everybody extra time because the pertinent information didn’t get passed along to the people who were gonna have to do the work on the ground.

Then the Cal Spas that I had before was very roomy and it ran really well. I would put in a couple of teaspoons of chemicals and chlorine every week and it would stay nice and clear. With the new one, it's the same water that I put, however, it’s cloudy all the time and I’m using more chlorine on it and I don’t quite understand that. I wanted to call the dealer and see what they thought about it. If there is somebody that could give a technical advice that could call me back and discuss that particular issue with me, that would be nice. But it’s working fine. I used my old spa a whole lot and now I use the new one a lot as well. I do a lot of hiking and it’s great to come back after a six-hour hike and be able to drop into the bathtub so it’s awesome.

Our Cal Spas tub was too expensive to repair so we bought a new one. It was going to be a similar size and Cal Spas seemed like a brand we trusted and we're pretty happy with it, so we got our tub from them again. It was an enjoyable experience and they were helpful when we needed help. Their team was great and very knowledgeable. They even came out and validated something for us. So, the whole after-sales experience was very good.

I like that Cal Spas are made in the USA and they were reasonably priced. I got a spa that sits on our concrete patio. The kids have had fun having friends over so it’s been nice for entertaining. It’s also good relaxing time together as a family. However, I don’t like the maintenance part. I had no idea I was gonna get into that. It has added a layer of stress in my life. Before we bought the spa, I asked a guy at the State Fair what kind of maintenance does it need, and he got out the two scoops of the chlorine that you put in after you use it and said, “There. That’s it. Now you’re done.” He didn’t really explain that twice a week you’re down there practically being a chemist, measuring water levels and adjusting.

We bought our house in May of last year, moved in, and there's a tub from Cal Spas. It was still running but was ancient old. We knew that it was still working and ticking long, but it was drawing a lot of electricity. We wanted it replaced so we went in at the store and had some questions about stuff as far as where we should keep it for temperature. They came out and did a walkthrough with us to explain the cycles and all of that stuff, which was really nice and informative. During installation, we had to take down one of the walls since we had an enclosed deck, which we had done previously. The installation guys were awesome and they came all the way around the back of the house, got the tub up onto the deck, asked where we wanted the tub, and put it in place. The Cal Spas hot tub is awesome and we love it. We use it a couple of times a week. We live in Minnesota and it's really nice to chill out the bones. Everything has been fantastic.

We bought a six-person Cal Spas hot tub and Secard Pools in Lancaster took very good care of us. They were right on the money and when they said they were delivering, they had it done. The hot tub is great for my back. I don't hurt as much and neither does my husband 'cause we're both older. It's also nice to go out and get in the tub on a weekend morning.

We've used Cal Spas for 22 years. They're very dependable. When we were first setting up the tub, I had an electrician friend who wasn't quite sure how to do certain things to the wiring. We got a hold of technicians and they were quite helpful. When they said they're going to call back in a few minutes, they did within five minutes with the proper answers so they were quite efficient.

We went to two other places and we both thought that the spas that the Jacuzzi store had were nicer but not $3,000 nicer for the design and size. There's a point of diminishing returns where you pay a lot more for a little bit more. Also, this is our first hot tub so no matter which one we got, we'd be thrilled. Cal Spas dropped it off and then I wired it in. Then a gentleman from a store came to the house and showed us how to operate it once we had it all wired up and ready to go. Everything went really smoothly.

We have our Cal Spas' hot tub for about three weeks now. There are four of us in the house and we all use it for different reasons. But, we're certainly out in the backyard a lot now than before, especially in the winter. The biggest benefit is when all four of us get in there together. It gives us an opportunity to sit and talk because it is sometimes hard when kids are doing homework and the TV's on.

I bought the Cal Spas tub about five months ago. The salesperson did an excellent job and I enjoyed working with her. But when the delivery guys came, they broke pavers in my backyard. I had a clear red brick pathway laid out for them to use during the installation of the spa in a location in the gazebo. It was a perfect setup and I was guiding them. Then I went inside to tend to my dogs and for some reason, instead of staying on the brick pathway, they decided to cut across my newly laid sod. I had to keep that stuff wet and it sunk their tracks down about six inches and I had to have the landscape people come out and redo it. We got through the installation but that part could have been better.

Also, I don't think the filter's working properly because there's a white residue at the bottom and I don't know where it's coming from. The first time I pulled out the filter and cleaned it after a month, it had quite a bit of stuff on it. Then I pulled out the filter a couple of months later and there's hardly anything on it. So I had one of the maintenance guys come over and he's been good about working with me. He said that the white powder was a spa treatment that I had used. I had ordered some Shock stuff off a company, I only used it one time and I know that it's supposed to dissolve.

We ended up having to drain the spa then we filled it up again, flushed it out and made sure everything was out of it. Then we drained it again and refilled it. He also suggested not using any of those other products and I haven't used anything but the Bullfrog canisters since then. However, I'm still getting a little bit of a white residue on there so it's requiring a little more work than I expected. I have a 12000-gallon swimming pool at my house and that was a lot less work than the spa has been. It's spilling water all over the place and I have to take a couple of water to the pool store to let them test it. It's getting very expensive and they're trying to sell me stuff that I really don't need. But lately, it's been okay and I haven't had much problem.

We had a problem with getting the spa delivered and made. It was Cal Spas that made the spa and we bought it from Sea Court Pools. Found out through Cal Spas that Sea Court Pools didn't even deliver the orders a week later and it was supposed to go in that week. I ended up waiting a month and when it came, it wasn't even the right color that we picked when we were in the showroom. They just dropped it off and didn't explain how the thing works. They didn't even speak English. So, when I was asking them how to turn it on or what do I do, they left it there, not even put water in it or plug it in. This has been a nightmare from the get-go. Meanwhile, we don't know really how to service the spa, and how to set it to separate things. And now, Sea Court Pools said that if we want them to come out, it would cost us an additional $150.

Pretty much everything that was told to us was a lie. We just got the bill and it seems that they're charging us interest. It's supposed to be interest-free for one year. Payments were only supposed to be like $35, but we wanted to pay it off within that year so we were sending payments of $200 and $300 and they were adding that $35 to that $200, $300 in separate payments. So, now it's like a year's worth already and we just got the hot tub. We don't even know if it's safe to get into the tub because we don't even know if the chemicals are right in it. I was never given any information about how to put the chemical in it. So, we spent like $4,000 on something we've never even been in. It's just disgusting. Our experience with Cal Spas was great, but they should be more selective on who they let sell their product to see who's discharging their products.

Cal Spas make quality products and they're satisfactory. I had looked at some other hot tubs and I liked the Cal Spas line. They are decent. One can get them with a lot of bells and whistles but mine's basic and that's all I wanted. I got my first tub in 1999 and the only bad experience I've had with it was I replaced the pump twice on it. The second time that I had to replace the pump, the tech had to come back and redo it because they put rebuilt pumps in. He had to do a little bit of re-rigging to get the pump to fit right in. They just rewired the old one and rewind the bushings, etc and it still was louder than a new pump and I didn't like that. If I would have known, I would have put in a new pump which would have been a bit quieter. Since the old tub was sixteen years old I just replaced it so I got the new one.

When I bought the new tub, their guy said it was exactly the same size as my old tub so the new one should have just fit right where the old one was built in without any problems. But it wasn't the case. It was a tad larger than the old one so what he said wasn't true. Also, the new hot tub package came with a new insulated cover. I said I didn't need it since I already have one from the old tub but the rep said he'll give me a couple of hundred dollars off. I've replaced the cover on the old one twice so I knew they run $400 to $500. If I would have realized that I would have said, "Deliver me the new cover and I'll put it in storage until I need it." But they offered to come out and show me how to set up the tub for free. There were a little more electronics on the new one and it's all digital. They gotta program it and their rep did that for me. I got the the start-up chemical stuff but I spent another few hundred dollars getting some other chemicals and another filter.

If I ever have to replace a pump, I wish they'd have the original equipment so I could do it myself. If they sold me a new pump and it just fit right in there and all I had to do was plumb it up, it wouldn't be a big problem. Replacing a pump's not that big of a deal. But they don't do that. They sell refurbed pumps and I'm a little disappointed in that. But the new one which I run year-round should go seven years or better before I have to think about a pump.

His assistant, Rachel, has also been very helpful. I definitely would recommend Greg and his team and Cal Spas. Having my spa has been a relaxing experience. I'm in the backyard and in the water a lot more now. I'd do it all over again and I would also recommend the spa to somebody who is not fully into the pool experience but just wants to relax. The spa is the way they should go.

Everything was good with Cal Spas including their prices. They also came over to set up our hot tub and got it all done. That was convenient which is what I liked the most about our experience. Having our hot tub is very enjoyable and relaxing.

We have a six-person jacuzzi spa from Cal Spas. The installation was good and the installers were very professional but when I would call to get an estimation as to how soon before they delivered it, because I wanted to make sure to take the day off of work when they came in, no one would ever return my call. I had dealt with a gentleman who was better at returning calls. But, unfortunately, during the time that I was waiting for the installation, he was working the house fair so he was not available.

We're enjoying the hot tub but the jets periodically turn off. It shouldn't be doing that as I don't have them on a timer and I have to turn them back on. I thought that maybe it has something to do with the programming but I’ve already followed all the instructions. Maybe I need an expert person other than myself. The tub is very nice and I’m glad that I was able to get it so close to home. I would recommend them.

We looked at a couple of different companies but we went with Cal Spas for the price and the warranty. The tub is very relaxing and has helped with my sore muscles and aching joints. The tub has Bluetooth speakers, LED lights, a lounger, a half-moon bench seat, and jets. It's excellent with the exception of some jets we were having some issues with. We're supposed to have some new jets coming in to replace them.

We like the spa, but we hate the gazebo. It’s cheap and made out of the most horrible material. We didn’t think it looked that cheap in the showroom. The guys who put it together did a horrible job and didn’t want to touch up paint when they messed it up. I was just handed some paint in somebody’s used Powerade bottle and I wasn’t too happy with that. I had to hire a handyman to make repairs to the gazebo and make it safe. It was just ready to fall apart or would’ve blown apart in the first wind. I also had my handyman install the snap covers for the lid because the guys who were supposed to install them said they can't do it because of liability. But it seems to me it’d be more of a liability not to have those on to keep the kids out.

It’s only been a few months that I've used the Cal Spas tub but I absolutely like it. It was a very simple and painless installation. The installers just had to maneuver the tub around the back of the house and get it on the patio, and it was a basic plug-and-play scenario. So far, it’s been all good. I was a hot tub fan from many years ago. In fact, I had one in Colorado but it wasn’t a Cal Spas but when I relocated out here, I realized that a hot tub was a necessity in my world because of what I do for a living. I have a very physical and active situation so it gives me that hour in the evening of relaxing and just being able to unwind. Overall, I was very satisfied with the whole process and I’ve been real happy with the product.

I bought a hot tub 20 years ago and I didn’t have a very good experience with that one. I like my Cal Spas better. My Cal Spas hot tub took a little longer to get delivered than I expected. But I understand that because it was during a huge sale that they had. The installation went fine, they came when they said they were going to come and they took my old tub away and put the new one in. It’s something for the family to enjoy together, so that’s a positive.

Purchased a Cal Spas PL880 from Ricks/Spa Max in Corona Ca in Nov-2016. We paid over $10k for the spa and told it was a 2016 floor model top of the line. Sales rep sold us on the galvanized steel frame (vs wood frame that can get water rot) and all the features of the Platinum series from Cal Spas. "This was Cal Spas best hot tub." He offered a discount if we purchased their showroom floor model. He assured us it was never used – brand new.

Well 30 days later they delivered it and to our surprise it was not a "steel framed unit". It was made out of 2x4s stapled together. Come to find out it was nearly 2 years old and the sales person said the manufacturer changed the serial number plate and tried to push it as new and he didn't know!! The spa evidently had been at several home shows and county fairs of the last 2 years. Well he offered to replace it with a new 2016 steel framed unit that was built 10/2105 (2016 model). Only difference was the color is Desert Horizon instead of the White shell we had.

Well today 12/26 they delivered the new 2016 spa. The spa was so scratched and had stress fractures all over the outer lip. The edges were so worn and the cabinet we scratched everywhere. Mossy yellow water was spewing from the jets. The spa had been thru a war zone. I told them to take them both back and refund my money. I took photos of everything. Can't believe a manufacturer as large as Cal Spas would deliberately change the ID plates and serial numbers to try and get rid of a used and refurbished spa. This is actually an illegal act and we will probably be taking the experience a bit further. Still waiting to see when the company will give us our $5200 deposit back?!!

We’ve had two previous spas from Cal Spas. What I was looking forward to when we decided to get another one is that we had natural gas that time. We've sold the house with the pool heaters we got from them in '92. We moved here, down the desert, so we’ve had another heater down here. They were available then and we were over the top happy with it. We found a guy who works on the spas and does maintenance stuff that we couldn’t do particularly, and he was very helpful.

When we were gone traveling, the spa had a leak. It freezes here, and he said he's gonna fix it. The heater is probably 10 years old and he said it needs to be replaced. I told him he needs to find it a home, which he did and I was thankful for that. But then we hadn’t had one for a long while. He got one but there was no gas. I was really upset ‘cause I don’t particularly care that it’s electric.

I got back and the bill was so over the top expensive because of it. The heater was going on every half hour or 40 minutes. They sent somebody out, checked everything, and he says it’s fine. Our bill was close to $200 and that never really got resolved. I could have called Cal Spas and put this thing away. However, the remedy from Secard Pools was to change it from Standard mode to Economy because we don’t use it that often. We can just pop it and heat it up when we need to, and I agreed with that. It's a bold-faced lie when the label "Cal Spas" is on the product but nobody from Cal Spas has an answer of why it’s doing a certain thing. I was very happy with their product previously, but with the recent one, not so much.

My neighbor bought a hot tub from Cal Spas five months ago and told me about it. Then I bought the 14 or 15 feet long tub that's got a couple of jets, a three seater on one side, nothing in the middle and one big jet on the other side. Their customer service was really good but I would not recommend them because I'm not happy with the product. After spending so much money and paying cash for it, I did not get what I ordered. There are supposed to be six small LEDs all around the tub that I wanted. However, before I got the tub, they called me to say that they don't make those LEDs anymore for whatever reason. I told them was fine with it as long as I still have the two at the bottom. But when it was delivered, the two LEDs at the bottom were also missing. I thought it was not a big deal. But one evening, when I turned on the tub, it just wasn't enough.

And on one side of the tub that has a big jet, the panels are kind of deforming, bending, twisting and were not where they were before. So I went back to the store and they told me that they're going to send somebody down. When somebody came by, he said I needed to run the tub 800 times a day and other stuff about it but nothing's been done about the lights or the panels. After that, I have not had a chance to go to their store. However, if they wanted to take care of something, they'll be down right away or at least say that they'll take care of it in six months or a year. Also, it doesn't take much to take side panels off, drill a hole and put a light in it. But Cal Spas didn't lead me anywhere and I just gave up after that.

I've also seen a couple of panels off of my tub. When the technician was trying to hook up the tub, I had hired an electrician to wire up the thing. And when he took a panel or two apart and I saw what's behind, to me, cheap stuff was used in it and I'm not impressed at all. A lot of the screws go through the outside panels but when they go in, they're not even into the beam. They're just sitting there. It also seemed like they were trying to fill up holes.

We got a hot tub from Cal Spas and it's fine. Years ago, we had one from another manufacturer, and their products are pretty close. We went with Cal Spas this time because the saleslady was great. She was very knowledgeable, took care of every need, and answered all the questions I had. We got a Plug & Play. It's a 110 plug-in and doesn't have to be hardwired. It has about 35 jets. Everything was fine, except for a couple of issues with the delivery. They strapped the spa on incorrectly and the foam that's in the cover had about four smash marks on it, and they told me there's nothing they can do about it. It was the delivery people who were at fault, though, and not Cal Spas. It's been great to relax a little more with our Cal Spas hot tub.

Cal Spas have better price and seemed more energy-efficient than other spa and hot tub providers. The installation team was good and professional. They seemed to be having a good time at work, but not obnoxious. They were joking around with each other. They got the tub in super quick. The spa did raise the electricity rate, obviously, like they all do. But it has positively impacted my life and I have no complaints. I enjoy it on a weekly basis, and we're doing good with it.

We've had the Cal Spa bathtub for 2 years now and I'm happy with it. My wife likes it, too. The features are real good and it still works well, especially the heater and the well-made lights. The water and power are not putting an addition in the bill so it mostly works really well for us. The price was even right. The people who did the job were very professional, good, and did a very clean job. They picked up everything, didn't leave any mess behind, and didn't do any mess. Everything was done right. I would recommend it because it's real economical and have recommended it to my sister and she has already purchased one.
