If I could give infinite stars I would. IMO Tracey's knowledge is the best in the business. Just an FYI we did get 2 other quotes as well, so glad we didn't go with the others. We ordered the blinds for our custom home and some were big a** blinds. The first time around they didn't work out they rippled really bad in the living room and kitchen so they got new blinds ordered and installed and the second set were still rippling in the living room and still didn't look good, so they were reordered for a third time but we decided to try a different material and they worked out just perfect. I love their business model of making things right and going out of their way to do it. I would highly recommend them if you are on the fence, do it, so totally worth it, you can't go wrong! Thank you Tracey, Ann and Jim.

On April 2, 2024, I met with Budget Blinds of Orangeburg, for a consultation. This business is in Goose Creek, SC. After taking measurements, the owner provided an estimate of $7,816.70 for the shades I chose. It was required that full payment be received for Budget Blinds to place the order, so regrettably, I wrote a check for the full amount rather than using a credit card. The average time for an order delivery was stated to be 8 to 10 weeks, which means shades should have been installed by July 1. It is now January 2025, 9 months after the shade purchase, and still no product.

Unfortunately, I have had to instigate each interaction with Budget Blinds, while never receiving a satisfactory response. After no update for over a month, in August of 2024, I issued a complaint with the SC Department of Consumer Affairs. Numerous attempts were made by the Department to elicit a response from them, but all calls and letters were ignored.

Due to the lack of response, the complaint was eventually closed and deemed “Unsatisfactory;” however, the complaint is now on record. I have currently had no communication with Budget Blinds since November 4, 2024, which prompted the same frustrating response offered each time, that they are working with the vendor to get the order completed/shipped. If the company is having vendor issues, I would expect to have been informed and given the option to choose to either cancel the order with a full refund or wait indefinitely to receive the order. This has not occurred. The inability of Budget Blinds of Orangeburg to complete orders in a reasonable timeframe is unacceptable and possibly fraudulent; to treat customers with so little regard is unethical.

I wanted them installed inside the frames and the salesperson told me that the company would not allowed because there is a gap and light would come through. I should had gone with another company because the gag of light coming through the way they installed them is worst that Inside the frame. Not happy at all. And no privacy, look at the gaps.

We bought thousands worth of Hunter Douglas blinds from Budget Blinds Portland store in 2012. When the string started breaking and fabric separating this year, we spend another thousand dollars for re-string and 'other charges'. Now after 6 months, the strings start breaking again. This store is very un-professionally managed and does not entertain legitimate repair needs. In short, they are good when you buy blinds, but does not seem to entertain after sale service in a reasonable manner. We are now looking at alternate repair shops around for re-stringing (that too 6 months after we paid a lot of money to budget blinds to string it). Very bad customer experience.

When I emailed asking for a status update. My order was scheduled to ship the next day. If there was a delay, I should have been notified. Day of the install my appointment time was 11:15 am. At 11:50 am I called to see if everything was still good. Was told per the email the time is give or take an hour and a half.

Thinking I missed that part I check my email. That statement was not there. So when Kirk arrived I let him know the email did not say that. He was rude and said, "Yes, it does and I am not going to argue with you." He started the work. Was in and out. No shoe covers, no tarp down in work area. He finished up and on the way out the door said, "If you have any problems give us a call." I later discovered stains on my new carpet by the window in my bedroom. Looked like it could have come from a ladder. I emailed letting them know. He responded that he did not use a ladder and I should have inspected before he left. So rude.

Well, when we bought $8k worth of shades for our new house in early 2020, we could not be happier. But my review is purely based upon the service since. One of the larger blinds’ mechanism stopped holding the blind in place and allowed it, only, to fully extend. Photos of the piece were emailed but they still wanted to charge $90 for them just to come look at it. I thought it would be days but now it has been months on back order with no idea of when it will get here. A couple weeks ago, after prompting, they said it had been shipped to them but still no ETA. Try to avoid any blind with plastic parts.

I did reconnect with the Budget Blinds and they had a tech come to my home the next day to diagnose the problem. A new blind motor was required and was ordered. The tech came back out an installed the new motor. The owner of Budget Blinds, South Austin kept me updated from start to finish and did not charge me for the repair. I am grateful that we reconnected and resolved this issue. I would recommend them and I do plan to use them again.

    Original Review: June 26, 2024

I would like to share my experience with Budget Blinds after 2.5 years of service. We met with our rep Deborah B. back in the Fall of 2021. She came out, demo’d some blinds for us and we made decisions based on her recommendations. We had 6-72” automatic blinds installed and 2-60” manual blinds installed. We spent over $4,000 to have this done. While the auto-blinds do not work 100% of the time due to wi-fi signal strength issues, we have managed to adapt. The app they set you up on is very antiquated and extremely challenging to program and/or change.

The reason for this review is how a consumer is treated “after the sale”. This is an area of extreme weakness for Budget Blinds (BB), at least in the Austin area. A little over a month ago, we began having an issue with one of our bedrooms' auto-blinds where it does not roll up. It is stuck in the 13% open/close position. It tries to go up and go down but stops and stays at 13%. I reached out to BB toll free number for some technical assistance - This does not exist. The toll free number sent me to the South Austin, TX franchisee, where I called and explained what was happening and needed some assistance.

I was asked to send an email to the owner, Shane C. with pictures and a description of the problem. I did this on June 10th, 2024 and even sent a video showing the issue. Shane replied to me on the June 11th asking me to describe the problem and send pictures and he proceeded to tell me that he would help me via email to resolve the issue and that if he could help, it would cost $195 to send someone out and diagnose the problem and it would be at least 2 weeks before anyone could come out. I was confused by his email because I had already sent him the pictures and video, which I replied to him stating such on June 11th. Shane replied on June 13th, “Thanks! I’ll look into this for you:)”. I had also supplied him our invoice at the time of purchase, per his request.

Today is June 26th and I never heard from him since. I was able to locate our sale reps contact information and reached out to Deborah B. on 6/18/24 and left her a voice message. Again, today is June 26th, and no response from her either. I am at a loss with BB and do not know where to turn. One of the most important parts of the sales process is the “after the sale” and BB has been a disappointment. Outside of this issue, the blinds are great. We love them, but as a company, BB does not seem to be too concerned about the after the sale. I am hoping somebody will read this and get back to me because there is no solution to remedy this issue. As a suggestion, I would do my due diligence on choosing a window covering company to work with. The blinds all do the same thing, which is cover windows, so there are many options out there. Good luck.

We contracted Budget Blinds March 16 to put in three blinds on our three windows in our newly renovated condominium. The balance was to be paid April 17th, Adam came and assured us they were the guys to handle the job. We waited the 6 weeks and the blinds arrived, 2 of the 3 were fine but in the kitchen they forgot to accommodate for a drawer that would run into the frame. The fix it team came to try to resolve it twice but only made the problem worse, then finally recognizing they weren't going to fix it after a month and ordered another window that fit inside the frame. June 15 the guys show up and installed the new window. They did a nice job on the window, now the drawer opens but left me to repaint the newly painted walls they drilled up that they hacked up. Sorry I find this unacceptable for a company to leave me with their clean up.

I bought 4 motorized blinds from Budget Blinds in 2021. They are beautiful, but unfortunately often break. I have to call my local franchise owner several times a year to come fix them. Sometimes it’s the motor, sometimes it’s a battery, sometimes it’s the solar panel that powers the battery - there’s is always something. At this point I get an anxiety every time I have to push the button to rise or lower them because I never know if they will work or not. The problem is that once the motorized blind is not working for whatever reason, you can not raise or lower it manually to match the others, it’s stuck in whatever position it stopped working until the repair guy from my local franchise is able to come. And often it takes a while because they are more interested in selling and installing new blinds than dealing with problems.

A year ago I wrote a five-star review for Budget Blinds Durham because my experience having new blinds installed was excellent. Now, a year later, I am reporting that my recent attempt to get support in obtaining a small replacement part for blinds purchased from the company a few years ago was not satisfactory. The response to my initial call two days ago was an email from the company with a request for information--purchase date, location of blind, description of problem, etc.--as well as a request for a video or photos of the problem. Had I been able to speak with a live person this information could have been communicated quickly. Communicating through email, however, is laborious and off putting.

A call by me to the sender of the email did little to facilitate a friendlier interchange. I described what had broken on the cord and was told that a service call would be $90. That cost was unacceptable to me, and I ended the call. Fortunately, I found what was needed for a repair, a roller shade bead chain connector, on Amazon. It will arrive today; it will probably take me 5 minutes to install. There was a better way for Budget Blinds to handle my issue. I will think twice about purchasing from them again.

On September 2nd I entered into an agreement with Mari **, sales representative for Sue and Trevor Pinto of Budget Blinds of Mid-Lower Manhattan, to have smart motorized shades installed in our apartment. During the sales process Mari stated Budget Blinds affiliate brand Inspired Shades would function exactly like the more expensive non-affiliated Lutron brand. Specifically, Mari had inspected our current Lutron set-up with a single hub hidden from sight and told me Inspired Shades would work exactly as the Lutron accessories in our apartment do. Based on this information I paid $2500 for the Inspired Shades.

At time of installation on September 28th the blinds did not work through a remote or app. The professional installers informed me they typically have issues with Inspired Shades and we should have purchased Lutron. The installers left the apartment with the blinds not working through the app and instead of providing one remote as promised at time of purchase, each blind needed its own remote next to the blind to function.

The installers came a second time on September 30th and suggested we place multiple receivers in plain sight around the apartment in an effort to get the blinds to work. I specified the receivers must be hidden but were willing to try it to see if it worked. The installer still could not manage to get all the blinds to work even with receivers in plain sight.

That same day I was told I could replace the Inspired Shades with Lutron, although I would only receive a $1995 credit towards the purchase vs the $2500 I had already paid. I offered to pay the difference between the $2500 I had already paid and the cost to fabricate new Lutron blinds. Mari declined and suggested the installers come a third time.

On December 7th the installers came to the apartment a third time. At this point the apartment had been rented so the installers were disturbing our renters in the process. The installers proceeded to place a hub in plain sight on the kitchen counter and put 2 signal repeaters in outlets next to the blinds. One of the outlets was a single plug high voltage outlet designed for our air conditioning. Our apartment was recently gut renovated with many available outlets, but this outlet was closest to the bedroom blind. The installers unplugged the air conditioning and placed a signal repeater in that outlet rendering our air conditioning unit useless. The installers did not set up a multi-channel remote in the process. Mari wrote later that day and claimed the shades "are all functioning properly".

I was sold a product that would function with a single remote or through a phone app with a hub hidden in the same place we have a hubs for our other smart home appliances. What was delivered was a product that does not work as advertised. In simple terms, I paid for a product I did not receive. Our apartment is less than 700 sq ft and all 3 windows are on the same wall. The desired location for the hub is less than 15ft from any one blind motor. Mari cited electronic interference as the reason the hub would not reach the blinds, even though none of our other smart home appliances have this issue.

I have tried to solve this by offering to pay for the difference in the Inspired Shades and Lutron. I have also dedicated significant time with Budget Blinds trying to get Inspired shades to work. As a last resort I tried to involve the corporate office on 12.8 and was promptly told they could not help. Bottom line, stay far away unless you are willing to risk the same treatment.

Two brand new motors defective? Was was the chance of that?

We had 10 sections that we wanted motors for. 5 upper sections and 5 lower sections, so we considered the additional cost of $4452 was affordable not including the 32.5% discount he was offering on the entire package. When they came to install they only installed 5 motors for the lower sections, but the cost remained the same, $4452 not including the discount. I contacted the owner and disputed not only the fact they only installed 5 motors rather than the 10 we expected, but they charged us double the cost per motor for the 5 they did install versus what the Franchisee Owner verbally quoted.

I have since contacted other blind companies who carry the Perfect Tilt G4 motors and asked for their retail price of the product and I have received quotes of $490 and $450 per motor at retail (not discounted). I then contacted the Franchisee Owner of Budget Blinds in Airdrie and asked that he refund me the difference for overcharging me for the motors. He refuses to do so, and suggested that the other retailers must have provided me a discounted price as a quote for the motors. Needless to say, this company is untrustworthy and I strongly urge anyone interested in purchasing blinds to not consider Budget Blinds in Airdrie Alberta. I am currently looking into further course of action, including suing for the refund in small claims court.

I purchased blinds 2 months ago - the sales person was very knowledgeable and I was convinced that they had high quality blinds worth paying many thousands for. After 2 months from purchase, I have had no follow-up communication on when the blinds would come in to be installed in my home. Basically, they promised a lot, took my money and delivered nothing so far. Each time I've called, they would blame their manufacturing and say there are delays, which I was told multiple times would only be up to 5 weeks from order date. The company is full of false promises and I would be wary.

Do not order products from Budget Blinds. Their quality of my blinds are very poor. In May 2020 I ordered vertical blinds cost over $1,100 from San Gabriel location of Budget Blinds. In August 2020 The blinds were installed. In January 2021 the fabric of the valance separated. The Budget Blinds replaced and installed a new valance at no cost. They were responsible at that time. However, the blinds were only good for 5 months. In August 2021 the valance's fabric separated again.

I contacted them and was told they will replace a new valance but I have to pay the shipping $60 plus the installation $79. I asked them what would happen if the problem appears again and was told I have to keep paying every time they replace the valance. This is very frustrating and disappointing. It appears to me that the product is of poor quality and should not be sold. Instead of compensating me for the product falling apart this company wants me to keep paying every few months.

Very upsetting when I book a consultation for 1:30 and I call the company at 1:45 to see where they might be. The manager called me back, saying that they didn't have anywhere for them to park, so they left. No phone call, no update, no knock on the door to tell me the problem. I live in a townhome, with parking on each side of the complex and most people park right behind my car, on the side of the street. They could have at least did that and knocked on my door to ask me to move my car. I have never had someone have a problem with parking, nor did I ever have someone use that as an excuse not to show up to an consultation. When the manager got back to me, she argued with me and wouldn't let me speak or get any words in. I have never EVER left a review before, but this really upset me. Horrible customer service. Kyle from Buffalo, NY came to my home to assist me with choosing window treatments for my entire house. My husband and I custom built our home and moved in only a month prior, so we were looking to order then asap. Kyle was very friendly and took the time to listen to our needs and measure all the windows. The first thing that was off putting was the fact that she kept pushing us to get the "more cost effective" shades, which in my mind means cheaper. I made it clear that we are willing to spend money to get exactly what we want, but she continued to push the cheaper ones. Is there a quota on these she needs to meet? If you are a sales person, shouldn't you listen to your customer and try to make as much as you can, especially when they are willing to spend the money?

The second thing was that she is not an interior designer by her own admission. Choosing custom window treatments requires the guidance of a professional to take into consideration many factors such as existing decor and furniture, architecture of the home, and the color palette. Despite this, I tried to stay positive and still considered purchasing the wood blinds at the very least. Over the course of a few weeks I emailed her and wanted to see the fabric samples again. I even offered to meet her at the design center so she wouldn't have to come to my home again.

She had several excuses as to why she couldn't meet, but assured me she'd send pictures. Seriously? We were looking to spend about $7,000 and she wanted to send pictures?? That was enough for us to take our business elsewhere- to a professional home design store in the area. Yes, we paid a little more, but we received proper customer service and the guidance of a professionally trained interior designer.

We went to their showroom, talked with a Sales Associate and took their tour of the different window coverings. They set us up an appointment with a consultant. Their consultant arrived on time and we had a very good consultation. He measured the windows, showed us their line of window coverings. We worked up a plan for the windows with some alternates to get pricing.

After the consultation we never heard back from him again. My wife emailed him, called him and left voice messages. She even texted him. He just simply did not call back. Then finally she called the North Charleston office again. They had no clue about why he was not returning calls. She took our information and said they would email him. Did not hear from the consultant nor did Budget Blinds think it was important enough to follow up with us to make sure we had been put in touch with him. In my opinion this is a pretty badly run franchise location. Whomever owns it should seriously consider getting rid of their staff and starting over. That is no way to make an impression on potential customers.

We had a gentleman names James come out and measure our entire downstairs for plantation shutters. He seemed professional and knowledgeable. We asked for a quote for all 17 windows which he provided, but it was a sloppy, handwritten estimate that was hard to follow. Bad on us, for not getting a formal typed out version, but James assured us this was the standard and would help with notes for the installer. We discussed via phone with James and it was noted for 17 windows, so we felt comfortable by what he said. We waited 11 weeks, instead of the 6-8 weeks that was quoted, with no apology or follow up on the delay.

When the installer came he was short 3 window shutters and 1 was damaged with incorrect side pulls. We couldn’t reach James during the install, but when we finally did, he said it was our mistake and he quoted us for all windows but our dining room. Why would we order all windows but the main window we asked, but he refused to admit he made a mistake. We even discussed how we should have requested a clearer estimate and would meet in the middle to get the dining room windows done. James told us “He will lose money” and quoted us $50 more than the original cost per window. When we asked to have an estimate on the spot, he quoted the per window cost different then what he told us back in the beginning.

He then proceeded to get aggressive and say “In his 20 years, he has never had such a difficult client”, while in our home, in front of our kids. He claimed that meeting us in the middle with price, would make him lose money. I ask, 3 window shutters was what was making your profit? At this time, we are missing our Main Dining Room window, have 1 damaged shutter and incorrect pulls, but would rather spend 3 times for another company to fix, instead of deal with James. Also, when we tried to call corporate, they just told us to fill out a survey that will get routed to the franchise office.

WARNING! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS BUSINESS! Carla ** the blinds consultant made a HORRIBLE MISTAKE on my order and they cannot redo it because of their incompetence. I asked them to remake my blinds because it was not what I ordered but Carla said they wouldn't be able to remake those blinds because that style has NEVER been done before. What kind of a consultant is that? They made a mistake on my first order and they want to give me a discount on my future orders? Are they crazy? Let me repeat - If a business messed up the first order and treats you like garbage, you expect me to do business with you on the 2nd order? Are you kidding me? Who are these people? The owner is fully aware of this TRISH KUFFNER... You don't even have the guts to return my call!

TO THE OWNER OF BUDGET BLINDS TRI-CITIES-MAPLE RIDGE: Carla lied to you because she wants to keep her job. Why not give me a proper discount on the first order and then I'll do business with you... That's usually how it works in the real world. You people obviously like to LIE to people and take advantage of them. I will continue to spread the word about how you people lie to customers so others don't get ripped off. You shouldn't be in business!

I have placed orders 3 more times with them now. Every time the blinds are installed in a room, it just blows me away, the way the blinds seem to finish off the room and make the room pop. I do not recommend Budget Blinds of Las Vegas, it took 2 months to obtain our blinds despite Ryan’s sales pitch that it would only take a week. After install, 11/12 blinds are missing hardware and one roller shade has the wrong type of mounting bracket creating an eye sore. Whenever I call for status of the missing parts, the clerks promise to return my calls, but rarely do. When I finally do reach someone, I’m simply told “they are on order” without giving me any specific information. I tried multiple times over 2 weeks to contact the owners Travis and Katy to resolve the issue, but didn’t get a response. Bottom line, we regret our purchase and wish we would have chosen a more professional organization.

First off am very surprised by the decent reviews, but of course reviews can be “planted”. I walked into Budget Blinds in Briarcliff Village with the goal of purchasing blinds to keep light out of my bedroom. After telling the sales staff this, was given several samples that would accomplish my goal. I took my samples home for the sole purpose of matching colors in my space, not to determine if the 5 inch square of fabric they gave me would indeed block out light as was told. I trusted their knowledge of their product.

After several weeks and nearly two thousand dollars my blinds were installed. My installer was great, knew what he was doing and installed perfectly. While he was still there we noticed one of the blinds had a hole in it, and did not go to the floor and neither of the blinds functioned properly, the very day of installation! The MAJOR problem was the fact these blinds were not opaque, not light blocking, not anything remotely close as was told. When I complained about this to the owner all she kept saying was “You Chose the Fabric!” There are no refunds.

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I was then told I could choose a different fabric but would have to pay for both as they were custom blinds. Custom? Really? They didn’t fit my window and they do not block light. These were not custom in any respect as far as my understanding of custom. I got stuck paying $1800 for blinds that were sold as something they are not and am still dumbfounded by their lack of customer care or support. Though they replaced my already damaged products with the exact same ones, I literally threw away my money on something either fraudulently sold to me or just an utter lack of knowledge of product by their sales staff. I wanted a refund, not the same cheaply made already malfunctioning blinds that did not serve their purpose.

The worst customer service I’ve seen in a very long time, maybe ever. The worst. And saying that is saying a lot in 2018! I am the owner of a software company and would never treat a customer this poorly. We like to count on return customers and word of mouth. Not to mention respecting our customers, mistakes we make on our end are corrected. Just think twice before shopping here.

We thought we'd get our money's worth by paying $1,500 for a set of two lateral and one frontal set of Hunter Douglas sheer transition shades for our bay window. The company never mentioned that there are numerous intrinsic flaws in the design of the product, beginning with the fabric used by the manufacturer which crumples up (the sheer side) with changes in temperature; or that the cord mechanism is very temperamental and unreliable and, as a result, it will absolutely not work one day or for several days in a row, and suddenly, one day it works.

The company has sent the installer not once, not twice, but three times in 2 months to replace the entire set of shades and not once has the staff even hinted an apology for the lack of quality of the product; the store owner said she has the same problem and she just "lives with it." The third time the blinds failed, the owner did not even return my call but, instead, had the installer call me to question whether the reason the shades fail is perhaps that I do not know how to use them! How quickly he forgot that they failed in his presence the first time he installed them, that he was shocked to see how crumpled they were the second time he installed them, and that after the third time he said they would probably fail again and the company would simple offer to install a different type of shades! The company will not issue a refund. And they only accept cash upfront as form of payment. Run away from this type of business.

WRONG. At night, my every move was visible. The liners they used for the shades in my bedroom looked crumpled, and promptly discolored, in addition to not filtering light so my bedroom was too light. The strings all broke within a couple years (and the pulls cracked) with VERY light use (I live alone and don't have kids). The configuration of our windows meant that three separate blinds had to be installed but could be synchronized through the remote control to go up and down separately or together. When the first technician came to install them, he found that the middle blind had been cut too long, so that piece had to be returned to the manufacturer in California. The second technician came to reinstall the correctly cut third blind on June 12. This time, the blind would not go up or down and stop; instead, it cycled up and down continually. This time, Budget Blinds sent just the motor back to California to be re-programmed.

Today, August 4, the third technician came to install the middle blind with the supposedly re-programmed motor. Once again, the blind cycled up and down in a continuous loop. When I offered to just purchase the blinds, the immature response via text is as follows... "Please use someone else- I don't care to work with you anymore! You called me unethical - lf you care to apologize I will do the job for you." Needless to say, I will take my business elsewhere, as there should be a difference in dealing with a business and whiny children who don't know what they are doing.

Hunter Douglas sent us three different parts, none of which fixed the problem, so we knew we needed professional support. We called Budget Blinds. Tom came to our rescue! He knew we needed the top rod plus the new clips in order to make the draperies work again. He saved us from purchasing new blinds. We couldn't be more grateful! One window blind is so uneven and is off about 1". Two other blinds were installed incorrectly and need to be interchanged so the cord is on the correct side. I ordered a roman shade for a bedroom on May 9th, 2016. In about 2 weeks, it will be 6 full months with no delivery or installation yet. They have not followed up with me on their own, but I have called multiple times asking where is the shade and sometimes they will get back to me. When I ordered the roman shade, she told me it could take 6 to 8 weeks. But this is way, way beyond that. The roman shade cost $848.35 which is crazy anyway, and she took half, $424 for a deposit on May 9th. When I called sometimes she would follow up and sometimes not. The last time I inquired where is the shade she got back to me and she said it was ready to go just waiting to be steamed and shipped and would go out any day, that was almost a month ago!

Price is way overpriced, no follow up unless I keep calling and asking, then I get excuses it is ready, but just waiting on steaming. It could be steamed in 30 minutes or less, so why wasn't it been steamed and shipped that very same day! That was almost a month ago. I checked with my credit card company and I can dispute this charge and I will, because I will not pay the price we agreed on almost 6 months ago. I already told the rep this several times.

So the blind needs to be installed at the deposit price I already gave them, which is half, or I won't be accepting the horribly late shade and terrible follow up and many, many excuses of why it has taken almost 6 months to make it and deliver it! You could make this shade and steam it in just a few days start to finish. Horrible amount of time it has taken for the kind of money they charge! I could have ordered online from another company, which had a promised delivery date of 7 days from order date. I have missed many sales over the last 6 months with other companies.

To start with, the rep came out and showed us some blinds with cords. We told her specifically that we did not want holes in the blinds at all. and wanted the turn wand. She convinced us to go with the faux wood. Gave us a price of 3,500 for about 30 windows. We thought it was a good deal, but when they came to put them in they were flimsy and looked very cheap. I didn't want them in my new home. We decided to regroup and asked how much for plantation shutters -- inside 15,000 and outside frame of windows 17,000. That was way beyond our budget!

We decided to call another company and he suggested we do plantation shutters in the front windows and wood shutters everywhere else. He gave us a good price. We went back to Budget blinds and decided to give them a chance. Their bid was almost a thousand dollars over the other price. Then when we told them that we were going with the other company, they said they could meet their price. Why would I want to do business with a company that clearly overcharges!! I said, "No thanks!!" They sent me my refund minus a 330.00 restocking fee for their mistake!! Glad I went with the other company!!

5/9/16 Consultation with Rose. Measurements were taken for front window (two blinds), back window (one blind), backdoor (one blind). 5/25/16 the installer arrived to install the blinds. During the installation he discovered the backdoor blinds were missing. 6/8/16 the installer returned to install the backdoor blinds. Upon his arrive the wrong blinds (roman shades) were ordered. 6/13/16 the installer returned to install the backdoor blinds. After he installed the blinds it was cut approximately 6 inches too short and inch too wide on both sides. 7/6/16 the installer returned to reinstall the backdoor blinds. The replacement blinds were still inch too wide on both sides. 7/13/16 I noticed the valance for the front window and back window were not the same color of the blinds. The blinds are off white and the valances are white. I notified Budget Blinds.

7/21/16 the consultant (Rose), manager (April), and installer (Donnie) returned to my home to re-measure my windows. After reexamining my front windows, the blinds were cut too wide. The blinds on the left side of the window were installed flushed to the window frame. However, the blinds on the right side of the window were hanging over the window frame by an inch. Because of the improper measurements and installation the blinds were not centered in the middle where they me. During this visit, April re-measured the front window and indicated she will re-order new blinds and correct the color of the valances. 8/9/16 the installer contacted me to set up installation of the new blinds for the front window. He confirmed April only ordered 1 blind for the front window which is inaccurate. If only one blind is cut an inch smaller, that means both blinds are not equally the same size. In addition, this does not fix the centering of the blinds.

Everything went fine until the rope on the shades kept breaking. The owners said they would come out & fix the string at no cost. Which I appreciated. But when we called today (the second time this week) to set up our 3rd appointment in six years the female owner refused to do it unless we now paid them $75.00. She then went on to accuse me & my staff of purposely breaking the shades. Then she stated, that if we weren't breaking the shades, I must not understand how to lower & raise a shade properly. Talk about insulting & obnoxious.

And she went on to tell me they've never charged the $75.00 fee to any other business, no one else just me. Nowhere had Budget Blinds ever told us there would be an additional charge for this service. I feel that Budget Blinds has no one over seeing these franchises or what they do, say or charge customers. Please, save yourself the headache, don't use Budget Blinds. My husband and I needed to replace a three unit window and a door window, the blinds are the original from when we purchased the home 7 years ago. Our grand dog had destroyed the kitchen window blinds & back door blind due to a thunderstorm we had. So we first called Just Blinds since the previous owner ordered from them, unfortunately, they are discontinued. So I decided to try Budget Blinds and get a quote. Well, they came out reluctantly & took a look at the blinds we have. Gave us a replacement quote. I said where's the budget. They were much higher than we expected. Then I called them again and asked what was the grain & color going to look the same as what we have now since they never brought any samples for us to look at. I felt weird about the whole thing.

We went to Lowe's - looked at samples and price was much lower. Nevertheless, Budget Blinds will not get our business here in Charlotte. Can't trust them. Just be careful with what you order. We'll take our chances with a much lower price from Lowe's than to spent several hundred of dollars for just one window with no guarantee.

This year however the experience I got the 2nd time around was really bad. The salesperson was very nice and helpful, but the owner of the Garden Grove location and his immediate family was a living hell. I signed an order with the salesperson for some windows (2 big windows and a French door to be made bi-fold). I made a deposit. Couple of weeks later, the office sent out a guy to re-measure to make sure. My husband was at home when the person showed up, he then asking my husband if he want a cut out for the handle on the French door. (My husband response was, "Let me think.") The person snapped at my husband (saying, "Don't think. Give me an answer NOW."). This to me was very rude.

8 to 10 weeks times, they finally came to installed the shutters. None of the shutters are bi-fold. The salesperson was really in shock when he found out from me that the 2 windows and the French door are not bi-fold. Both the salesperson and I complained to the owner, their reason was that they can not make my windows bi-fold and that they told my husband. I was the one who signed and make down payment for the shutter, one would think I or the salesperson should inform of the problem. (This is completely a lie.) The salesperson have no clue of what the business owner was saying. Oh they also says that the piece of paper I signed does not mean anything and that it was just a piece of paper telling me the estimated cost. Budget Blinds advertises professional in-home design consultation, so I trusted that they would send a real experienced designer to recommend an attractive window treatment for my balcony door. The woman they sent was very friendly, but she did not have samples of the product she recommended and the product itself doesn't come close to fitting in with the room decor. In short, it looks TERRIBLE! It is a simple roller shade for which I was charged over $600.00, and I was told that was a SALE price. It's definitely not a BUDGET Blind! The shade was also installed incorrectly, so that the door doesn't open easily any longer, plus we need to stand on a step stool to reach the shade when we want to lower it. When I complained, all I was offered is a 50% discount on ANOTHER shade which costs even more than the original.

Lessons learned: 1. The only thing "Budget" about "Budget Blinds" is their design capabilities. 2. The "designer" they sent to my home is NOT a real designer - false advertising! 3. Don't trust their consultant to recommend a window treatment that fits the decor of your room. 4. I could have bought a similar shade at Lowe's or Home Depot and PAID A LOT LESS. 10 years ago, new house. Bedrooms first rooms for window coverings. Bought Graber honeycomb blinds for all bedrooms. 3 picture window size blinds, not cheap. Largest blind in MB broke within 1st year. Blind would lower normally to certain place then just one side would lower. I called and someone came and fixed it in my home. Blinds broke again recently, same thing happening. I called the franchise. I said if I knew the blinds would break again, maybe it should have been replaced instead of repaired 10 years ago. After talking with BB employee at some length, him skirting the issue, he finally said "Let me get the notes". He gets on and said they replaced the blinds 10 years ago at which point I got upset because dishonest business practices tend to do that to me. 10 years previous I watched the guy take the blinds down, fix it, and put it back up. I knew they had never replaced it.

Wrote corporate, owner of Albert Lea, MN franchise emailed me. Reiterated same thing, blinds had been replaced. Not only that, a BB person had been to our house 4 times to repair them! This all being in their "notes." Well gee Bob if that is in your notes it surely must be true. I was here, I know what occurred, so basically that makes me the liar. Just one thing Bob, I know I am not lying, so gee I guess that leaves you and your notes. Over the course of 8 years we put window coverings in our whole home from Budget Blinds. Spent thousands of dollars. I realize it's just one franchise, but when corporate hands it over to them and they don't fix it, it's called passing the buck.

I will never spend one more dollar at Budget Blinds and folks if you don't like dealing with dishonest businesses, with a corporate that doesn't follow up on complaints, I would say spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. Because in the end service is important and honesty is everything. Oh Bob got upset with me and wouldn't deal with me anymore, turned it over to blinds company Graber. In the process of taking the blinds down to get the numbers off of it, when put back up, raised all the way up my husband heard a click. When he lowered them they were working normally. This is in relation to Budget Blinds of Brighton, MI. We had four sets of blinds installed a couple of years ago. Two sets of wood blinds and two sets of blackout blinds. The wood blinds have been performing adequately. The blackout blinds each have broken at least twice. One blind has no strings (it simply raises and lowers via a small tab at the bottom). This blind is for a glass door. Twice this blind has broken and been repaired. The repairs are successful, but the average repair time is two weeks.

One blind is for a wide window and has four strings. Three times now the strings have frayed and broken, causing the blind to fail. It was repaired twice and broke again a month ago. To me this is nothing more than cheap quality. There should be no reason the strings should wear out so quickly. My other problem is the local franchise. They are very slow to repair the blinds and not terribly responsive on service calls. For this most recent repair, I have been calling the owner, Bob Mitchell, for three weeks without a single response. I had to call the corporate office which only redirected me back to the Brighton office where I left yet another message. Something else to be aware of. On the corporate website, it states that all warranties are handled by the local franchise and warranty durations are also set by the local franchise. This may not be a problem, but it be very easy for a local franchise to not honor a warranty and then you'd be stuck.

Your Budget blinds franchisee, **, was quite responsive in setting up an appointment to evaluate our blinds needs. At the initial visit, he was all business spouting various model numbers, alternative choices etc; but to a fault. He was almost robotic in his constantly stating models and style numbers. He wrote down the various numbers and measurements and appeared to have all the information. His estimate invoice also repeated these numbers so that it was impossible to discern what was ordered.

Unfortunately, a point was missed about our needing light blocking blinds in one particular room. After installation we noticed that the aforementioned blinds were not light blocking. When emailed, he stated that his notes stated that we spoke about it but that we thought they were too expensive. That was not the case. More importantly, when asked what our alternatives were, his response was "that there was nothing he could do for us" and again reiterated the same statement that we had rejected the more "expensive alternative". His unwillingness to help us in at least giving us some alternative ie pull down shades from a local hardware store was unacceptable. We had used Select Blinds for our other home and frankly we could have done the same with this house for 1/10th the price. Would never recommend Mr. **'s services.

We've used Budget Blinds for the last 10 years and have recommended them to numerous family members, colleagues, and friends, until now. We moved into a new house in June, 2014. We, once again, hired Budget Blinds to dress all the windows in the house. Like in the past, they came out, they gave us a consultation, and we wound up ordering $8,000K worth of window treatments.

Since June, here is what's happened: Two rooms of treatments were snagged and coming apart at the seams. Wrong color and size of cords were installed. Valances were measured incorrectly and needed to be reordered and installed. We were told that it would take 3-4 weeks for the entire house's treatments to come in and we didn't receive everything until late November and still waiting on resolution on damaged treatments. Our Main Living Room's treatments were installed in November and the installer and myself noticed small tears in the seams on all three windows. Pictures were taken by the installation person and sent to my sales person. She NEVER followed up or had anyone call us to acknowledge the problem or let us know what they were going to do to remedy the problem.

Finally, it's almost March and received a voicemail and email from my sales person's assistant. Better late than never, I suppose. She called to let me know that they wanted to take down one of the window treatments in our front room that was torn and send it back to the manufacturer. In other words, remove a main treatment in a room where one full window would be bare and the others not. Also, they still wouldn't let me know what was going to be done. Would they fix the treatment? Not fix it? How long would a resolution take? Will we go another eight months without resolution? They also called to tell me that the wrong pull cords were in and ready to be installed. To be honest, I've moved past this a long time ago. The cords are the least of our problems.

To wrap up my review, I received an email from my sales person letting me know that they expect payment in full on all treatments. I had paid in my invoice full other than the torn treatments in my front room, which I was waiting for them to resolve before I submitted payment. They blamed the manufacturer with the delay on all these issues and would not take any blame for this entire nightmare and just treated me like someone who doesn't pay their bills in their final email. All in all, over the last ten years, we've spent about $20,000 with Budget Blinds. I think they know that we pay our bills. I just don't pay for something that's damaged without resolution.

I had an appointment with the local franchise owner Pate and he was late. I decide to let this slide but this became the normal issue. He would not show up when promised, he was late. He made excuses for not returning calls. I have 10 out of 65 windows complete and he had another excuse for not showing up. I have been dealing with this company since April 2014 and I still only had 10 windows finished. Then when I complained to corporate they say they can only send it back to the franchise owner.

He then tried to say I became difficult. I just told him I was tired of all the excuses and wanted him to show up when he promised to show up. I heard everything from the dog died, had to pick up kids, had to drop off kids, getting ready for vacation, on vacation, just got back from vacation, at football game, at graduation, etc. The company does not help with issues. They offer a 5 year warranty but if the person never comes back to install the blinds that are laying in the room, because of missing brackets that he would bring back tomorrow. Who is going to show up to warranty it!! I used this because it was a small business and help the small business owner and not the big box store. But I would RUN from this company not walk. They do not stand behind their product or franchises and you are left 10 months later with only 10 blinds out of 65 done. I should have went with LOWES.

This morning he was to pattern the window and take my deposit. He showed up at my house and proceeded to tell me that he had not added for the fact that the window is arched even though he sat at my dining table and discussed the availability of materials with the fabricator for an arched window. He then told me this would add to the price. I will not be getting shutters after all. So disappointed.

Budget Blinds, Poulsbo, as of today, it requires 2 weeks of lead time for an appointment, and if you ask to come in to their office to try to shorten the time, the answer I got was NO. The appointment they offered was until December 30, with a 6 to 8 week delivery of the blinds. It's ridiculous to wait close to 3 months for your product when you can walk in to any competitor or Box Store and get them cheaper and faster, so I am headed to a competitor, and I will NEVER do business with Budget Blinds. Oh, and by the way, don't bother calling corporate office because they back up the franchise, and not the customer. They said to me, quote, "You went to the wrong store,” but Poulsbo IS the Only store in my area. My question to corporate is what does it matter if I went to the moon to find your store? The issue is the product delivery time, and the unacceptable lead time, even when I volunteered to meet them at their store. Word of advice to Budget Blinds, "He who does not take care of the customer see their job disappear.” Goodbye forever BudgetBlinds.

I gave them one sliding glass door blind (that matches the other 7 in the room) for him to adjust the drawstring, as well as 2 smaller ones from my office for the same problem. I also had them fix blinds in a rental unit and purchased new ones from the ones he said could not be fixed. He did not show up for 2 weeks, no calls or anything. I thought the tenant was all fixed up and he was working on my personal blinds.

I received a call from the tenant upset that she was still waiting for blinds in the bedrooms to be installed. I called the owner and his wife said he was waiting to hear from ME! I replied, "What for" and she said, "To see if you wanted us to do the work". I already hired him! A few months and many calls later, I was still waiting for my blinds. After repeated calls, his wife said she would have him call. 2 weeks later I called again and she informed me that my blinds were accidentally thrown out. I have called, emailed and texted, but no response. I WILL be taking them to court! This has been an Unbelievable experience. DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING! If I could leave a half star I would.

When she asked where I lived, she said, "That's not my territory." After a 2 minute argument about what the web page said, she finally said I live in an open area and anyone can serve my home. Although the web page said it was hers. Then when I pushed her, she said she doesn't do drapes, only hard products. I finally told her that she made it very clear she had no desire to service my home or area.

Called their corporate office, and they referred me to any office about 30 minutes away instead of dealing with an owner who was rude, arrogant, and sucked at customer service. This was, and should have been, a very simple process to get an idea of cost for a picture window in the front of my house. Instead it turned into a debacle. I hope the 5 owners of the original business will address this owner in Media, and remind her what customer service is about. I am now going to find another company to give my money to, which is silly to think about. This woman in Media should be sent to a customer service class, and reminded who pays her salary. She was a terrible representative of Budget Blinds corporation.

After reading review about our local Budget Blind store, we invited Susan and her husband, the current owners, to come for consultation and an estimate. We were impressed with their presentation and so hired them without even getting a second opinion. Stupid, stupid stupid! We came to realize that the favorable reviews we read were from when the former owners ran the shop. Our main purpose in seeking them was to find treatments for the bedroom that would help block some of the light but decided to get an estimate for coverings for the whole house.

After numerous visitations to their shop to view samples and get opinion, we ended up paying $3200.00 for light shades (they didn't recommend room darkening) that allow so much light that we had to get eye blinders to sleep at night. In addition the cords were mounted in the wrong side and although they are the ones who wrote and submitted the order it was suggested that we should have known and requested the cords to open on the appropriate side. We ordered their suggested main rooms blinds and they did not come according to order and were clearly cheap and dysfunctional. They replaced them but when we finally received the new ones the slats were warped they opened crookedly because the cording was tied sloppily, and when you open and close them light shines through unevenly.

In negotiating with them they ultimately informed us that they could not meet our expectations to our satisfaction. This is the first negative public review I have ever written - I am not considered by most merchants to be unreasonable and demanding. We recently, then, had to hire another blinds person to come and show us how to work our blinds and to help us re-cord them so that we could open them to look presentable. They continue to look warped and uneven when closed. If a customer is looking for cheaper blinds needed to sell or flip a house, ones that they'll never have to live with themselves, Budget Blinds of Kennewick might be a company to consider. DO NOT, however, rely on them as consultants or expect to get window coverings you can look at for years with satisfaction. The Budget Blind Company will not help you, they will only refer you back to the owners.

My hope by drifting this complaint is that maybe I can help consumers make a better decision than I did. I ordered wood plantation shutters for my entire house (not a cheap purchase, I am sure you know). Both reps were "Johnny on the spot" prior to receiving my payment. Once my shutters were installed, the very day they were installed, they started to come apart (the louvers came unstapled from the stick part you open/close them with).

It took 3 to 4 weeks just to get the reps back out to assess the situation. By this time, some of my shutters only had 2 louvers still attached. Once it was determined that my shutters were defective, I was told they would order me new shutters but they could not rush the order because they are very busy right now but they would keep me updated. I received no communication from either rep after.

Three weeks after, I reached out to one of the reps and left a message mentioning a refund and he called me right back. My shutters were now ordered and he would keep me posted. All I heard every time I spoke with the rep was what an inconvenience this was to him (the drive time because of different counties, the time to install new shutters, having to rent another trailer to get the shutters to my house etc.). When my shutters came in rep #1 tells me he has not been able to reach rep#2 because he is so busy. Once he catches up with him, he will see when they can do the install.

Rep #1 decides that for his convenience, he is going to bring the shutters to my home in multiple trips in his pick up truck and store them in my garage until he can get them all down where I live. I voiced concerns about rep #2 being 'MIA' at all times except when it was time to collect the money and that I was going to write a letter when this draining process was over. Only the lived part of my shutters was replaced. The frames for the most part did not have to be replaced.

The day of the install, I pointed out to rep#2 a couple issues with a few of the new shutters (one has a gash in the wood at the top, one had a storage spacing between the frame and the new lived and it looked tacky and very noticeable, and lastly, there were a good many nicks and scrapes). I was told by rep #2 that he would let rep #1 know so he could come back by on his way from the dump where he was disposing of the defective shutters.

To this day, now two weeks ago, I have not been contacted by either of the two reps and neither have been by to address the final issues. It was always rep #1 saying rep #2 was responsible and vice versa. I have had good quality shutters at a previous home as well as excellent service from another vendor and if they had serviced the area I moved to, I would have been able to avoid all of this frustration with Budget Blinds.

I have been trying to get service on Signature series Budget Blinds which we had installed by a local North East franchise, now out of business. However, the Budget Blinds website lists Mr. Dale ** franchise as covering this area of Maryland and, in the process of little response from that company, I confirmed this with Budget Blinds central office in California.

Our efforts started about 2 months ago (perhaps even longer than that) and lead to a visit from a lady from that business about five or six weeks ago, at which time I was assured that replacement cords would be sent directly to my address and that someone would be scheduled to effect a repair. When no cords arrived and no word of a visit was heard after two or three weeks, I called Mr. ** office several times to be told by the lady on the phone that she knew nothing about scheduling, nor the status of particular accounts, but would have someone call me who did know. I explained that perhaps I might be able to do the repair myself, with a little instruction on the phone. No one, to this day, has given me a reply.

From the long list of complaints I see on the web, I gather that this lack of service is quite typical and very regrettable for Budget Blind customers. The story has something of a silver lining, however. In casting around for phone assistance (not available from central office, if you can believe that), the franchisee for Delaware (John **) gave me the instructions I needed and the name of a company where I could get replacement cords. Although, a little tricky, I succeeded in replacing the cord. Thankfully, not everyone in Budget Blinds is indifferent to the needs of the customer.

I ordered Wooden Blinds for my 2 Bedroom windows and 2 Bathroom windows. My order included the cloth strips for decorative purposes. The Franchisee who did the installation told me that I would be 100% satisfied with my purchase and if I something went wrong he would take care of it...no questions asked. The first set of blinds that he installed were too short and didn't sit on my window sills properly.

If I had the blinds turned up, you could see the Orange Warning label on the bottom, along with the metal studs that held the cloth strips on. The Franchisee told me, in no uncertain terms that I'm not supposed to have the blinds turned up. The blinds are made to be turned down. Obviously, Blinds are made (or at least should be made) to be up, down or open. Whatever MY Preference is. He reluctantly agreed to replace the blinds with ones that had an additional slat, so they would sit properly on my window sill.

Well, a week later, he calls me to say that Budget Blinds won't give him a refund and that he'll have to pay "out of pocket" to have the new blinds made for me. He was looking for me to just let it go, but I didn't. I spent over $500 for these blinds and was not happy with them. He finally agreed to replace them and 2 weeks later, he did show up with new blinds. However, when he installed the new blinds, the bottom 5 slats (on all 4 sets) would not close all the way when I pulled the cord. He blamed it on the new length.

Also, the decorative cloth strips were tacked on crooked and did not lay flat on the blinds surface. There are ripples up and down the blinds. Clearly the assembly of the blinds was not done with care or precision. The appearance of the blinds looks terrible. I asked him to have the blinds fixed again and he agreed to bring his rep over to my house from the "Signature Series" to take a look to see if anything could be done. I had to chase him down for a return call, and he finally brought her over.

She told me that the blinds are made to face down and not up and there was nothing they could do about it. After arguing for 20 minutes, that was the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, I told the Franchisee that I wanted my money back and he flat out said no. He was done with me. I then proceeded to kick them both out of my house and told them both to go ** themselves.

I'm sick and tired of getting the raw end of the deal with companies like this. I will obviously NEVER call on them again and whenever I get the opportunity to say what a horrible experience I had with them, I will. As a matter of fact, I plan on putting a great big sign on my front lawn warning people NOT to call them. I'm not finished with them yet....Meantime, my recommendation is to stick to Home Depot or Lowes. At least they are reputable enough to back their products. Mad as hell in Mount Laurel NJ.

Our sales rep/installer was very nice and understood when we told him we were going to do different "stages" of installation over about 18 months (different parts of the house over time). During that time, he readily told us that they had changed manufacturers and that the quality of the product was inferior. He promised that if "we ever had a problem with the blinds" he would come out to fix the problem to our satisfaction. In fact, a couple of times in the 3-4 years we have had the pleated no-string blinds, we did call him and he came out and fixed them. We, again, have several blinds (they are all the "new, inferior" ones) which need adjustment. He refuses to come out unless we pay a $75 service call fee, because, as he puts it "the price of gas has gone up." My house is 5 miles away from his office. I reminded him of his promise AND the fact that he installed (in his words) an inferior product. He said that he thought the new fee was reasonable. So, if you want an inferior product which isn't backed up by a service guarantee promise, BUDGET BLINDS IS FOR YOU.

I was sold some really poor quality blinds by Budget Blinds handled by the St. Peters Missouri office, owner Laura **. It has been a nightmare as Laura ** has gone to extremes to avoid my calls so that she will not have to replace the defective blinds. Ms. ** lied to me and blamed the answering service. We texted her on her cell that she responded to so knew of the issue. After about 27 attempts to reach Laura **, I finally reached her, which point she lied to me and made countless excuses as to why she could not fix her defective blinds. Ms. Laura ** rudely hung up. Do not buy blinds from Budgets Blinds St. Peters Missouri.

Plastic piece on pull cord opens and in order to raise the blind, it must be taped to hold it together. Since I had 14 of these "wood" blinds installed I have had problems with the cords being uneven and when I tried contacting the installer in Edison, NJ I learned he was out of business.

    Budget Blinds Madison, LLC-Huntsville, Alabama

The following commentary is based on our recent experience with the service rendered by the Budget Blinds, Madison-Huntsville, Alabama franchise owner Mr. Tom Wright. Our initial correspondence with Mr. Wright was we were not happy with the shutters installed in our home. During the telephone discussion about our displeasure and our disappointment on the quality of the installation, Mr. Wright became very rude, unprofessional and made the statement and accusation that we were trying to "beat you down" on the cost of the shutters and blinds we purchased. Mr. Wright chose to become defensive and actually hung up the phone on my wife.

We have never experienced a vendor in the customer service business hanging up on a customer. I immediately called Mr. Wright back. As I was leaving a voice message, Mr. Wright picked up and asked for an apology and to continue our discussion. We understand customers can get pretty nasty with a vendor after expectations of the customer were not met later; however, hanging up on a customer is very unprofessional. The next day we received a call from Mr. Wright (wife) and apologized. However, Mrs. Wright was not the one who hung up. Mr. Wright sent us an email with his apology and we had a subsequent conversation to again attempt to come to a resolution.

During the conversation, Mr. Wright made the statement we were trying to get something free. He did not have or present a resolution to our problem. His final offer was us to pay an additional $3,000. His initial offer was $3400. We informed him we would discuss it and call him back. He immediately called us back and made the $3,000 offer. After this conversation, we decided we wanted the shutters and blinds uninstalled and our monies, all funds paid to him, returned. Mr. Wright reluctantly agreed and a date was scheduled for him to come uninstall the shutter and blinds. I have to state Mr. Wright made good on coming to uninstall the shutters. However upon his departure and rendering the refund and/or monies, Mr. Wright chose to throw a rock in stating upon his departure and giving me our refund, "I know your wife ordered and heard her say she wanted blinds in the garage" and wrote us a check less the blinds charged.

I didn't want to argue, just accepted the check so Mr. Wright could move on and we could immediately start our search for a new vendor that would provide the product and service we deserve as consumers spending a significant amount of money. I thought this was another arrogant dig against my wife. Again, I thought his approach about the blinds in the garage was unprofessional. We may have accepted an offer on the blinds in the garage, however, Mr. Wright's approach was take it and stated "You throw them away if you don't want them." How smug of a comment.

I know we will never recommend Budget Blinds, especially for the Huntsville area. Further, our inquiry and experience with Budget Blinds Corporate Headquarters with one of their franchised owners was very discouraging as they referred us back to the franchised owner. Mr. Wright asked that when I blasted him on the website, that I let all know he returned our monies. Mr. Wright, we do want to thank you for returning our money with the exceptions of the blinds you made us keep in the garage. So you believe we received good or outstanding customer service? Well the bottom line... no, we didn't.

Don't use them! Customer service is poor at best even though their prices, etc. are good. I was due to have my blinds installed this week and now I can't get them to return my calls or respond to my emails.

We called them; the name is after all Budget Blinds. The guy came into our home and said that he "hates" people who are calling because of price. I say, "Well, your name is Budget Blinds and you sent us a 30% coupon as new homeowners." The guy, Tony, an English fellow got all attitude and proper with us. He wanted to do Plantation shutters in the bedrooms. I said, "I had a bid; I can't afford them even if you are 30% cheaper. I need a patio door blind." He said, "Vertical?" We said, "When we called, we asked about horizontal."

The guy threw a fricken fit and said that I was "hostile." I said, "I'm not hostile, just asking questions." He packed up his stuff despite our pleas that we just have questions and the jerk storms out the door. My wife thought that we should have called the cops. I called the National Chain - they did nothing. I said, "We'd still like a salesperson other than Tony to call on us." They didn't respond except to say that they were "very concerned about the English guy's behavior." I said, "We need two blinds. Screw the English guy. That's not my problem. He's a frightening whack job. Send a new person."

Nothing. I went to Lowe's and had a wonderful experience. By the way, they had heard about the Englishman named Tony. Don't shop at Budget Blinds in Naples, FL and watch out for Tony with the Tude.

I waited for just the blinds I wanted. Rich ** from Billings came out and measured for the blinds. I ordered them and waited quite a long time to receive them. Then the installer came and did his work; one side of the blind is longer than the other, and light comes in on that side. I called Budget Blinds and Rich and his wife, Gina, both assured me that it would be replaced. Again I waited. Then I was told that there would be a weight that would be available that would make the blind hang down. (It is longer on that side!) Rich came out again. He wanted pictures of the light coming in (which I haven't submitted to him). He showed me that if I push on the blind, no light comes in!

Now they don't return my phone calls, and I feel like they are not going to do anything to remedy this. When he was selling the blinds to us, we both thought he was an awesome young man, knowledgeable, and honest. He assured us that if there was ever a problem (even if the cat would damage them) that they would be replaced without question. Now we find out that they won't stand behind the sale. I have asked them repeatedly to give me the name of someone in the company, since I feel that they aren't reputable and don't stand behind the products. They don't give me any answers to that, either. If it is the Budget Blinds company that doesn't help their employees, then I want to talk to them.

I feel like nobody will do anything. I won't be doing business with them again or recommend them to anybody; on the contrary, I would tell people to be wary.

I ordered shutters from Budget Blinds for all 9 windows in our home. It took 6 months, and finally, the shutters are installed. I am not going to get into the problems that arose that were the fault of this company, because there probably is not enough space to write it all down. I paid over $4,000.00 upfront and was then told the manufacturer is in China. Talk about a slow boat from China. If I were to ever have window coverings installed in a home again, I would contact the Home Depot and not even think about this Budget Blinds company.

I met with a franchise owner of Budget Blinds and we made selections for both Roman Shades and Sheers. The swatch used to determine the basis for the selection met with both of our expectations. However, when I received the Sheers, the color was off. The franchise owner agreed and we attempted to find an alternative that met the aesthetic principles but their options were very limited. He responded by not giving me a refund but by offering me a store credit. I don't trust the products from their manufacturers, and so there was some hesitancy to try a different sheer from the manufacturer to only be held hostage by the "all sales are final." My lesson learned is that not all companies believe in satisfaction guaranteed and this isn't one of them. I will never do business with this company and will share my experience with everyone I know.

Please do not give your business to this franchise. I always read reviews and this is my testimonial. I am extremely disappointed in the level of customer service I have received. It is simply uncalled for and I am unaware how this franchise is still in business. Setting an initial appointment, having Jerry out to our home, picking out our blinds, and paying for them were the easy part. I was told that our blinds would be shipped to us in 2 weeks. Two and a half weeks went by with no contact from Budget Blinds. So I called them. I was told that my blinds had never been shipped and they had no idea why that had happened. (Thank goodness I called!) They would call me back when they got a hold of their warehouse and get them shipped.

A week and a half later, installation had been more than a nightmare. The installer installed not one, but two broken blinds without our knowledge. It was only after he left that I discovered them to be broken. Maybe this is why, while he was here installing the blinds, he forcefully told me not to contact him if we had a problem. Well, there was a problem. So I called the office to have someone come out and take a look at the broken blinds, and after numerous phone calls and promises that my call would be returned, they finally came out 2 weeks later. Jerry (the salesman) came to our home. He looked at the broken blinds and said, "The installer must have known these were broken because both of the blinds are broken.” He said he would order parts to fix the problem.

Two more weeks passed, and Jerry came out to install the new parts. Unfortunately, they did not check the order before scheduling my appointment because when Jerry arrived, the parts were still in the shipping envelope. It was only after he opened the envelope that he discovered they had shipped the wrong parts' size. So another round of shipping and another appointment had to be made. Another week and a half went by and Barbara (the office receptionist) left a message on my answering machine letting me know that my parts were in and they would like to come out to my house to install on Friday, November 9, 2012. I returned her call a day later, only to find out that she had filled my appointment time that was set aside for me. She stated that she needed to hear back from me right away, as if I were to know this.

It seems to me that returning their phone call the very next day had been much more respectful than I had ever been shown by this franchise as far as callbacks were concerned. I proceeded to tell her that I needed my blinds right away and that that never happened. I also told her that I would be out of town for the next 2 weeks for the holiday season, and she became rude to me and said there was nothing she could do; my appointment had been filled. I do believe that with all of their mistakes and mishaps and problems with returning phone calls and broken blinds and appointment after appointment after appointment, that she should have made a second attempt at calling me or made sure that there would be time for me that day. Horrible customer service! Horrible.

I continued with the phone conversation and told her I would be calling back the beginning of December to set up yet another appointment. She became cheery and said, "OK, Stacey, have a nice day." I was so upset that I called back and explained how unhappy I was with everything that had happened. She said it was not her responsibility to babysit her clients and hung the phone up on me. I tried calling back and she put me with the answering service and I still am awaiting yet another phone call. I have already paid for my parts and am not sure if I will ever be receiving them.

I ordered my blinds for my entire house with Barb at Budget Blinds in O'Fallon, MO. She was very helpful at first, trying to get my business. I specifically said that I needed these installed by a particular date as we were moving in and the house had no blinds. She said no problem. Right before we moved, I got a call from the installer stating he had to go hunting on that day and that he couldn't be over for three more days. We dealt with it. As he is installing the blinds, it is discovered that Barb forgot to order my specialty blind for our bathroom. I am getting mad now. She brought a $5 paper blind over and told me how sorry she is and will get it ordered.

Two weeks later, it arrived damaged. They are so sorry and have to order another. At this point, I have asked for a discount or something to compensate for this frustration. She said no way. It was an honest mistake that she forgot to order and she can't control what happens in shipping. So, we got a call a little less than two weeks later saying our blinds will be in again. No one called. I called her that night and she said she never told me that. It will now be another week. As of yesterday, when the blind was supposed to arrive, I have yet to get a call saying it has arrived. They have cashed both my checks and I have not had my order fulfilled. Please do not use Budget Blinds! Beware!

I asked specific questions of a salesperson the company sent out to my home regarding the purchase of shutters. The salesperson lied to me. When I found out that she had lied, I contacted the company and was told Budget Blinds is a franchise; therefore, owners they can make their own decisions as how to sell. I contacted the CEO, Chad Hallock, in writing outlining exactly what had happened and he did not even respond. A very unethical company. Buyers beware!

I contacted Budget Blinds for a quote. I was quoted $1,448.37 for 3 kitchen windows with installation. I felt pressured to make up my mind that day. I should have declined the whole idea. Two problems occurred in their haste to lock in a deal: a math error in the written quote and a measurement error for one of the blinds. It's costing more than we were verbally quoted and now we have to wait to get our third blind. The balance will be paid when the job is done, of course, but I do not recommend this company if you want considerate professional service.

I called Rob ** on May 14, 2012, and placed an order to have the broken blinds replaced. He assured me that when they come in, he would contact me as he has done this in the past. He had also indicated that it would cost me $50 per window if he were to install the replacements. It is now July 27th and he has yet to return any of my phone calls. At this point, I don't know if the blinds have been ordered, shipped or waiting to be installed. I think this is the poorest kind of customer service you can offer. Someone should take the responsibility!
