I have a Bosh dishwasher that has been a pain since day one. I had the repair person out several times and was told over the phone the reason it wouldn't clean is because the dishes aren't dirty enough. The arm that feeds the spinning arms came loose several times. They have had to replace the printed circuit board 2X. It won't drain, I can't find a manual on line that I don't have to pay for. There is no help from Bosh online without a charge. I also have a Bosh washer and dryer, total mistake! Takes too long to cycle and can't just do a spin cycle or load size, etc. I will never buy another Bosh appliance and advise all my friends and acquaintances not to as well. Customer service is a joke!

I first was told that Bosch would cover the cost of the tub replacement and I would have to pay the labor. The repairman quoted me 8 hours of labor at $850. Then, Bosch decided to repair it at no cost due to a factory defect. Then the serviceman said it would take 4-5 hours to repair and said 11:00 in the morning was too late to come and fix it. When he finally came at 8:30 am 2 days later, he took less than 2 hours to fix it and was done by 10:00 am. Now, after 3 loads of laundry, something has come loose and the whole tub is banging and shaking. I need someone to come out to work on it again, but I would prefer the shop in Pine City, MN, instead of this gouger from Blaine. How many hours did Bosch actually allow for this type of repair? And how many hours did he actually report? I certainly don't appreciate being lied to and cheated and I'm sure you folks don't either. I still don't have a washer that works and I've spent oodles of time and money at the Laundromat.

We purchased a Bosch dishwasher 4 years ago because of the supposed great performance of their appliances. We have had nothing but trouble ever since! The top rack of dishes rarely gets clean. They're filled with 'backwash' food and so is the whole inside of the dishwasher. It's all very hard to get off of everything. We have had it looked at repeatedly and had the plumbing rerouted, thinking that may be the problem.
I was told by one repairman that Bosch is so good, you need very little soap and that that was our problem. Not so! Also, he said I should run it empty with white vinegar every now and then. Again, doesn't work. It just continues to throw food from who knows where all over the interior! This dishwasher is awful! I wish I could afford to replace it with anything else. Someday I will have clean dishes!

Have a Bosch Nexxt washer dryer set, very expensive, purchased because of the high rating. Totally unsatisfied from day one. The washer door can't even be closed because of the mold smell that won't go away. I only use HE products and have never used fabric softener. The softener dispenser has water in it after a cycle. Called a repair person. They told me there was nothing wrong. It is shameful that we spend so very much money for an inferior product and from what I read on the blogs. No one will do anything about it! Shameful! The dryer is worthless too! Never buy Bosch! My clothes and laundry room stink and I can't afford and shouldn't have to buy a different set.

Five years ago, I purchased an expensive set of washer/dryer - Bosch NEXXT models. Within a year, the smell from the gasket on the washer due to black mold was terrible. Lowe's couldn't help. Bosch wouldn't help. Then a year later, the motor went out on the dryer. We were still under an extended Lowe's warranty so no cost except it took them four trips to fix it. At year four, the dryer motor again started making noise and is needing replacement. The washer (we are now at year five of ownership) is beginning to give out, often won't cycle. I bought Bosch because I thought they had a decent reputation. I can see from this board and others that they do not. This $1200 set of appliances is absolutely the worst appliance I have ever purchased. Do not even consider buying anything with a Bosch nameplate.

We have to accept this offer. Now I phoned to salesman to ask when new a refrigerator come, he said its not clear, its coming but it passed 4 days. In four days, I couldn't use a refrigerator so that I couldn't cook. Because of the hot weather, the foods smelled and went bad.Now I'm miserable. I bought the Bosch Nexxt 500 series washer and dryer upon recommendation from the dealer and based on the eco-friendly and energy efficient ratings. Although we have not experienced the bad mold smell referred to below, we have had numerous issues with the door on our washer and dryer not closing properly. The dealer has had to come out a good 7-8 times to fix it. And now after only having had the dryer for 2 years, our dryer overheated and the dryer engine has totally failed. The dealer came out and reported the information to Bosch, but all we have gotten from Bosch is a big run-around. Customer service is rude and ignorant and does not want to help you, even upon escalation of the problem within Bosch. It's an interesting way of running a business & standing by your product. These machines are pieces of junk, do not buy !

Overwhelming, awful smell upon water discharge from machine. I cannot go in the room and have to open windows and get dogs out for fear of health concerns. Plumber came and told me it is a problem with these machines, mold gathering on gaskets, etc. which are making this strong smell. I had called Bosch company about black gathering around the door seal before this smell ever appeared and they told me to leave the door open as much as possible. I've done that but now this smell is intolerable and I am worried that if it is mold it is producing unhealthy air in my home. The plumber said there is a class action suit which I would definitely want to join but should I stop using this machine immediately for health reasons?

I purchased a Bosch washer and dryer my dryer from the day it was delivered did not work. I still had my old dryer so I just kept using it. Finally after my father called and yelled someone came out. They said it was fixed. It made a strange noise while it dried. come to find out something was not set right and it wore the drum out in less than a year. $600 to fix, so now the washer, if you do not take the clothes out immediately, yes, they smell. The front glass fell off and the digital display burned out. I still am using it but it really has never cleaned the clothes well. I purchased the most expensive washer and dryer because I wanted the best! I so hate it! It is only a little over a year old.

I purchased a Bosch SHE6AP05UC last November. It worked perfectly at first and after about a month, it started not cleaning food particles off top rack dishes. The serviceman cannot find a problem with it. I have had 7 service calls and done everything that they and Bosch have recommended to solve the issue. I even went as far as to have a plumber come and reinstall the dishwasher, purchased a new disposal, and ran new pipes to make sure it wasn't us. To date, I have requested that Bosch replace my dishwasher. Their answer is that 7 service calls is not enough to warranty a new dishwasher. Yet no one can find the problem and I have a dishwasher that is useless. I now hand wash my dishes. They do not stand behind their products so, buyers, beware.

First off, I think a machine that expensive should last longer than 2.5 years, and the repair cost is outrageous. I could not do with a machine and was forced to purchase on to replace it.

The door gasket is dissolving after three years of use. They want to send a technician, naturally. Quality control has been shifted to the consumer. It’s a lousy no class business move that the US consumer is sick of. No wonder there is no consumer confidence. No one really gets excited to go out and buy something new any more. Deep inside they know it is junk that's only gonna give them problems. A dishwasher that makes your dishes nastier, congratulations, Bosch (made in America with foreign parts). Obviously, a door gasket made in China. I can hear the Chinese laughing, "It ok, stupid American buy anything, no worry, send, send to stupid American." I’m disappointed “again.” Has anyone given due consideration to accumulative effects of disappointment?

I purchased a Bosch front-loading washing machine from Lowe's 2 1/2 years ago. From reading the other complaints on this site, I can see that I am certainly not alone. The machine stopped working, and I had a certified Bosch repairman come to my home to look at it. The cost for repair is approximately $800 for the board and motor.
Conveniently for Bosch, the warranty has expired at the two-year mark. It seems to me from reading other complaints that Bosch conveniently built a product that would fail right after warranty. Of course, I did call Bosch and Lowe's, and naturally neither of them will help. Please, Mr. Consumer Affairs, whoever you are, at least start a class action lawsuit to send a strong message to a manufacturer who is clearly taking advantage of the public!

Purchased a Bosch clothes washer over a year ago, paid over $800.00. Just can't get rid of the terrible order it develops. More than once a week, have to run a cycle with bleach to relieve the bad odor. Clothes smell bad after washing. The consumer has to purchase additional product to help eliminate the order but it does not completely eliminate the problem. If I had known this before purchasing, I would not have bought it. Salesman did not warn us of the bad report. Is there anything I as a consumer can do to be refunded or assisted in dealing with this matter, or do we just take it in the shorts and take it to the scrap metal recyclers? Please help. Can't stand the smell anymore.

I just came across the complaints on this website about Bosch washing machines. Until today, I thought I just had a ''lemon'', same story as everyone else. My machine makes the clothes smell terrible unless I spray the drum periodically with bleach and then run a full cycle and prop the door open between uses. The control panel will show 1 hour to wash a load, when I come back 1/2 an hour later, it says 1 hour 40 mins left (or some other time that's greater than the original time). Our clothes are 'worn' looking very quickly and the whites never get clean again and become dusting cloths very fast! I complain constantly about the machine, so much that my husband tells me to go buy a different model even though we spent over $1000 on this one last year. Do not buy a Bosch washing machine. We are still putting up with the black mold gasket and the stinky clothes because we spend $1295 on this washer and can't afford another one right now.

This machine turned moldy and made our clothes smell. Only to have the motor seize. Their products are not worth the money they charge. I am disappointed with this company. We are a family of 5 and need a washing machine, we could not afford to keep purchasing products of $800.00's every couple of years. I expected to have this machine for a long time and was upset that Bosch does not care about there consumers. Running to a laundromat every 2 days is expensive.

On September 26, 2008, I purchased from Lowe’s in Vacaville a Bosch tankless water heater, installed by a plumber and according to specifications in Bosch manual. Less than six months later, I began experiencing cold showers. I called the plumber. He removed the tiles and plumbing in two bathrooms and replaced the mixing valves, believing that that was the problem. Then a second time, replaced mixing valves, not thinking it could be the new hot water unit. Still, experienced cold showers.
Then recently, I heard that tankless hot water heaters do not operate in Vacaville without adding $800 more adapters/kits of sorts to prevent `scaling`. This was not mentioned in their manual nor advised through the local store selling the unit. (Lowe’s wasn't aware, either). Then it came to my attention this problem was reported as developing throughout our area.
I called Bosch. They were not willing to pay for the upgrades, refund, or recall because their labor guarantee is only for 30 days. The scaling problem does not develop until almost 6 months after purchase. I finally had to install a standard hot water tank after learning Bosch would not upgrade or refund the several hundred dollars for a water heater that I cannot use unless I invested another $1,000 or more (including their technician coming to Vacaville, CA from Lafayette, CA at my expense). I think the company is responsible for alerting consumers of this issue, giving the opportunity to make a decision on the full investment required to insure their hot water system operates in Vacaville. One of their requirements is to have a soft water system for the home. We have one.
Date of Purchase/Incident: 09-26-08. Requested Resolution: I want a full recall and refund for the unit, plumber and installation cost.

Bosch Dishwasher I purchased on 08/2006. SHX46A05UC/36
The labeling on the buttons wore off within months and the parts were covered under warranty. The repairman gave me extra buttons. The stainless steel door liner is stained with some sort of cloudy deposit that can't be removed. About a month ago, parts were ordered to replace the heating element. The cycle runs for 3 hours on Econo setting. It is very noisy compared to the Bosch I purchased 3 years earlier in my previous home in Toronto. No problems with that one which is why I purchased this brand again. The part will be $200 plus labor/warranty expired. If the part was produced with built-in obsolescence or there is a leaking or fire hazard with this model (it's not included in the recall), I would rather buy a new dishwasher. I will not purchase Bosch again. Thank goodness my Washer and Dryer are Whirlpool and while the washer has the moldy odor and very long cycle times, I haven't had the problems that Bosch purchasers have.
As for Dacor, the microwave DMT2420SC is a lemon. When making popcorn, it ignited the bag, filled the kitchen with smoke and turned the interior yellow. Prior to that, the defrost setting malfunctioned; either cooking food or not working at all. That was under warranty in the first year. It started mysteriously working now and then or if you fiddled with the buttons before completely stopping. The repairman ordered new buttons but said that if the element is gone, to buy a new microwave.
My Dacor gas cooktop SGM304S clicks upon ignition, sometimes filling the air with gas before it flames up. I have to turn it off if it takes longer than 6-8 seconds because it has come close to singeing me. My 12-year old son uses this and it's dangerous since he is shorter than I am. The burners go out when I open or close the drawer underneath. I have had repairmen check on both problems. I have had gas ranges before and this is the hardest to keep clean. The porcelain surface is discolored and brown, and nothing cleans it. None of the burner flame diameters and heights are right for the pan sizes. If using all of the burners, the flames from adjacent burners heat up the other pots too much. The openings in the cast iron grid are too large making it impossible to heat a small pot without balancing it precariously over the prongs (which I do a lot to reheat my coffee sans microwave). One of plastic burner knobs near the rear burner partially melted. The design of the knobs down the right hand side is dangerous when working from left to right because the knobs get in the way, food gets dripped on them and you can't get a pot close to another dish when transferring food.
The Dacor Oven ECS130SCH takes forever to preheat, the fan is noisy and stays on long after the oven is off and it heats up the kitchen so much that I avoid using it sometimes. I have used the self-cleaning feature only 3 times and now, I am afraid after hearing about fire hazards and exploding glass. I will never buy Dacor products again. I'm now without the microwave or a dishwasher.

I bought a beautiful Bosch stove in 2006. I have had to have the stove/oven repaired 3 times due to a faulty electrical board. The first time it was because the oven got too hot when I was self cleaning it. A customer service person said that I should never clean before a party because you just don’t know. What? The other 2 times, one being today, the clock went out on the stove. When I went to reset it it froze up. I cannot set the clock or turn on the stove. With the amount of money I have spent on repairs, I should just by another stove. Also, Bosch dishwasher has a mind of its own. A single washing takes 75-85 minutes! It is so incredibly frustrating. I have spent too much money on having this stove repaired. Between repairs and the water bills I pay from running a dishwasher for as I long as I do, I can say I will never buy another Bosch product again. Obviously, they do not last because they are not made well at all.

Three weeks without hot water! Our second Bosch 115 hot water heater sprayed hot water all over me and my closet from the seam. I was told to turn the water back on and send a photo of it! Now they require $250.00 for the old unit before they will send us a new one in 4 to 5 business days! That's one month without hot water! I've gotten the same old routine from every tech support they have including their supervisor.
I've never dealt with a manufacturer for three weeks to any avail and I've been a homeowner for 31 years! I'll never buy any of their products again! I own an appliance repair company and have personally been on over 10,000 service calls. I am waiting for a response from my third letter to Bosch before I post all details of my experience on my web-site.
I purchased a Bosch dishwasher (model SHX98M09UC /53) on 5/22/2009. The performance of this machine is unacceptable. From the very first use, it was apparent that this machine would not remove food product and food smells unless four consecutive cycles were run. The dishes and glasses loaded into the machine were not heavily soiled and did not have baked on food. In most cases, all visible food products were scraped off and the dishes and glasses before a cycle was run. Eating utensils have never come clean. Glasses and dishes will always come out of the machine smelling like whatever food product was on them. Even worse, if a plate smelled like fish or egg that was on the plate before a wash cycle, the entire load of dishes and glasses would smell like that food product after a wash cycle.
I have run every cycle available on the machine and every detergent available and every amount of rinse agent possible in hopes that I was just using the machine wrong. I have had five service calls on this machine, four of which were for this problem. I have followed all advice from service companies and from Bosch Corp. I have put up with this machine for a year and have exhausted all means for correcting this problem. I have documentation for all phone conversations and service calls concerning this machine. I have written three letters to Bosch Corp. I have since purchased a different brand dishwasher, which works very well as it should. I want my money back.
I have written three letters to Bosch for this problem. Each letter was answered the same, laying blame somewhere else, even blaming absence of a high loop on the drain. The high loop has always been there and four Bosch technicians have personally seen the high loop. The last response blamed the drain, improper use, and the detergent. The response of Bosch is criminal.
When I purchased this dishwasher, I hired a very reputable plumber to install it to eliminate me from any future problems. When the dishwasher failed to perform properly, I allowed a Bosch authorized service company to troubleshoot it and attempt to repair.
I find the Bosch responses to be insulting. I own an appliance repair company and have personally been on over 10,000 service calls. I am waiting for a response from my third letter to Bosch before I post all details of my experience on my website.
You are not alone. My Bosch dishwasher does not clean properly. My Bosch dishwasher does nothing more than consume electric, detergent and water. The first week of June in 2010, I purchased a new Sears Kenmore dishwasher at a local store and connected it to the same water supply, the same drain and the same electric circuit. I am using the same box of detergent. The new dishwasher is quiet enough and the cycle time is comparable. The results of a load of dishes is quite different. The new machine cleans very well and never smells funny, dirty, or strange after a wash cycle. I have run two dozen cycles in the new machine. I have wasted time and money on detergent, electricity, water and service calls trying to get my dishes clean.

When I was renovating my condo a year and half ago, I changed all my appliances to Bosch. A month after Bosch oven was installed, I noticed the oven turns on by itself but I thought due to new installment, it could happen. Two weeks ago, 6/2/10, I woke up at 7AM smelling something burning (I initially thought since just Memorial Day was past, someone was still barbecuing outside). When I came out, my kitchen was barbecuing. My Bosch oven turned on by itself with my pots and pans stored inside the oven. I was scared and in panic how can an oven turn on by itself and what if I was not home? My house could go up in smoke and no one will notice it was caused by the oven turning on by itself.
I am sure it was not on the night before because I was doing my paperwork in the kitchen table until shortly after midnight. I immediately called Bosch company and set up an appointment for a technician to come and evaluate/fix the problem. After more than 2 weeks later, they came and told me I have to pay for the computer parts on the touch part of the oven screen and labor which costs more than $400, which I refused to pay. How can a prestige, well-known company like Bosch not want to accept their mistake and refuse to take responsibility of manufacturing defective oven that without screen being touched to be "on" can be turned on by itself? I am afraid that one day when we go on vacation, this happens again and we might not have home when we come back.
Bosch is now in lay back mode and saying do whatever you want to do because we are not responsible since your warranty is over mode. Where can I report this to have other consumer realize this oven is a dangerous product?

We bought a Bosch front loading washing machine a little over a year ago. Other than doing a lousy job on things like comforters (which we were assured it could handle), it does a fine job washing clothes. It also does a fine job of chewing holes in clothes. For some reason, the washer will occasionally pull a piece of clothing into the door/gasket area where it gets caught and destroyed. In the process, the gasket also gets severely damaged resulting in water all over our floor. We have had this replaced three times and now it has happened again.
The service people have been reluctantly helpful and always imply that I have closed the door on the clothes, which I do not do. I became very mindful of the possibility after the first incident and make sure nothing is getting caught when the cycle is started. This unit was fairly pricey and has been out of commission almost as much as it has been usable while we waited for parts and repairmen. Junk! Being 6'8" my clothes tend to be more expensive. It's hard to say what the cost has been in clothes so far, probably around $360. Of even greater concern is a plywood wall in the basement which has apparently developed mold due to the soaking it has gotten numerous times. This will have to be cut out and replaced.

Remember, business world, if you do start a fire in someone's house, there is a way to make it right, and so far Bosch is very, very slow. I am not blaming them for the smell of melting dishwasher in my home, but they could have earned back my loyalty by saying that it is just not acceptable to have something with the Bosch name start a fire in your lovely home. Here is a new dishwasher that will never treat you like this. Why do they treat people like this?

My Bosch dishwasher caught on fire! Luckily I was at home, and put it out with a fire extinguisher when I saw flames shooting from where the buttons used to be. Apparently, there was a recall, but I did not know. Now 9 parts need to be replaced, only 7 of which have thus far been ordered. It has been 12 days and 2 service calls and I am no closer to having a functioning dishwasher.
Meanwhile, graduation time, and my daughter is home from college and she loves to cook. I have May birthdays, and a family of 6. What a nightmare, nobody at Bosch can fix this in a timely manner. I think when you start a fire in somebody's home, you should behave responsibly. Personally, I would write a check for a new dishwasher, rather than pay for the 9 parts that come in very slowly, and for the labor to install them.
I understand that sometimes things go wrong, but when they do, there is a proper way to conduct yourself as a business. Bosch let me down big time! When the lady asked me if there was anything else she could help me with, I told her not unless my Bosch washer and dryer explode.

The washcloths still have makeup on them after being washed, even when using bleach! I don't think there is enough water going in, hence, I have recently taken to filling up a large watering can and hauling two to six gallons of hot water from the kitchen to the laundry room and adding more soap. I feel like a washer woman from early in the last century! Our water heaters are in the garage, and so little water goes into the machine that the water never gets a chance to get hot, even on the hot cycle!
I tried putting more HE detergent in the machine, but the wash cycle lasted over two hours and I ended up with a code, that I had to call the repair people about. The reply from them was, "Don't put any more than two tablespoons of detergent in your machine, no matter what! " I guess I will either ditch this almost brand new expensive machine or continue hauling water and putting in more soap to get the clothes clean. I am disgusted with this product. We also have a Bosch dryer, which is just like any other dryer, i.e., noisy and takes a while to dry the clothes. So don't be fooled with the "quiet" thing that the salesman will try to tell you. Don't even bother using the permanent press side of the dial, it doesn't get the clothes dry enough, unless you want to hang them and let them finish drying. This stuff is junk.

Our family purchased a Bosch front load washer and dryer set with the intent that they would be a water saver and eventually a money saver. However, I have found that you need much more water to completely clean laundry. The body odor on the clothes is many times masked by the perfume of the detergent. I have used the correct HE detergent and sometimes used more or less cleaning detergent to get satisfactory results, but with no success. White clothes are either bluish and dingy or yellow and dingy. Even when I use liquid bleach, the clothes do not come out as clean as if using a top loader. Hence, there is no way that this Bosch front loader can wash more than four or five large body towels and come out clean, which the salesman promised it could wash up to a dozen or so. I feel that our clothes are just being washed and rinsed in dirty water. We also have had problems with the washer completely spinning out the rinse water during that cycle.

I am so sorry I let the Bosch rep at Lowe's talk me into the Bosch front-loader washer. I had a queen comforter that I was trying to avoid taking to the cleaners, and the guy guaranteed me that even if it was a very thick queen - not a problem, it would be fine. Guess what? - it shredded my comforter. Another problem I have is mold all around the inside band. I thought it was something we just had, but after reading other consumer complaints, it obviously isn't just us. It also doesn't always get all the water out of the clothes, and I have to put it thru another spin cycle. What a waste of money. I am so sorry we bought this machine, and will never ever buy a Bosch product again, much less recommend to anyone. I wish they would come get it and take it away - I hate it! I've been spending more electricity, as it does not always get the water out; ruined a beautiful comforter when it decided to shred it; and I have mold on the band which I cannot remove.

My new Bosch dryer quit working about a month before the one year warranty expired. The first Sears repairman assessed the dryer. Sears sent a part to my address via UPS. A repair appointment was scheduled. Three+ weeks had already elapsed by the time the second repairman arrived. He assessed the dryer and declared that another part was needed. I was very upset. Sears sent $100 for laundry services. After another three+ weeks went by, the third repairman declared that another part was needed. Now almost 7 weeks have gone by, I didn't even try to call Bosch. I still had the one year warranty with Sears.
After some stressful phone calls on Sears' difficult phone system, I impressed someone in the Customer Solutions Department to replace the dryer in spite of the fact that it didn't qualify as a lemon. A lemon is defined as 4 separate, successfully completed repairs occurring in a specified length of time that I don't recall. After reading all of the Bosch nightmares on the internet, I wish I could just get my money back. I have the matching washer and fear it will soon have its own problems. I bought a Bosch oven microwave combo in July 09. When my kitchen renovation was complete in Sept, I installed the unit only to find that the microwave section didn't work. I called Bosch customer service and was given the # of a Bosch registered repair company in the area. They came and looked at the unit and said that the problem was with the plug on the oven (which the microwave plugs into) .2 weeks later, they came back with a new part. The microwave worked for about 9 weeks after which it died. It took 34 days to get another replacement which lasted all of 2 days. I complained to Bosch customer service and was told in no uncertain terms that I would be subject to as many part changes as they saw fit to perform. (Bosch customer service plumbs new lows in friendliness, you'll definitely know where you stand after dealing with any Bosch rep I've spoken to 5 in all, with someone called Johanna taking the cake for arrogance).
Anyhow, 2 weeks ago a different service company showed up and diagnosed a faulty fuse holder which was replaced today, unfortunately the trim kit replacement (the other one being unable to hold itself on the microwave properly after all the removals) was short the clips to fasten it to the unit. I was told by the rep in the Knoxville area (Gary **) that they must be somewhere in the box. They weren't. An hour and a half later, he told me that he didn't have the correct part # to order them. So here I am, if you, like me have ever assumed that a Bosch appliance is a quality item, think again. When the Bosch dishwasher that was in my new home went belly up, I just chalked it up to an old appliance. My insurance company replaced it with a Bosch EcoSense. This appliance is so poorly designed that I am amazed. First, the flatware holder is located in the back of the bottom, meaning that in order to put one fork in, I have to open the door and pull out the bottom rack to reach it. What a hassle!
Second, as with all dishwashers, there is a gutter between the body of the appliance and the door when open. But on the EcoSense, when I roll the bottom rack forward, it hangs in the gutter, clanging plates and knocking off track. This is particularly true when there is more weight in the front of the rack than in the back. Front weight makes it nosedive into the gutter and hang. Some would say to load the dishwasher from the back to the front. But I have a husband and a teenager. I'm just lucky to have load anything, much less in a particular order.
Third, the rack openings for plates are too small on the bottom.
I will never buy another Bosch product. I called to complain and was told that Bosch dishwashers are the design envy of the industry. They were unwilling to help me and suggested I call an appliance center. But what can a local appliance store do if there is no newly designed rack to replace the bad one? I say buy Kenmore dishwashers. They last forever and have a great rack space.

So I have to leave the door open all the time when not in use to let it dry out. The filler is no good. Then, there is the dryer. It has even more problems. The design of the fins are made wrong and throw the clothes forward hitting the sensor telling the machine the clothes are dry when they are not.
Then the large items get into a big ball/knot making it hard to get undone to re-dry for the second and third time as they stay wet. The clothes again come out with a bad odor. We purchased the washer from Lowe’s in June 2007. With a wife and 4 children, we spent the extra money to be able to do more laundry and be green for the environment. The machine quit spinning. It would act like it was going to wash but would not and it has smelled since we got it and clothes did not smell fresh. That’s how it all started. Then I called Bosch and got the repair shop that they authorized to do the repair and they diagnosed the problem to be the lock sensor.
But to fix this you have to also change the control panel. The problem was the repair shop was that they could not get the serial number because Bosch put the sticker with the numbers on it inside the door which have been washed off by the machine doing laundry. So all we have is a model number from the receipt and the multi-machine owner’s manual.
So when I called Bosch you can understand how excited I was to find out that Bosch was going to pay for the parts and agree to pay for the drum gasket. That’s when the saga began. To get free parts the only place the repair shop can order them from was from where Bosch said they could. Then the repair shop took two weeks trying to ordering the parts after I had to on several occasions do a three-way call with Bosch and the repair shop because they and Bosch do not talk, I guess, without me.
Then the parts finally come after three weeks but they were the wrong ones, so I had to call again and they decided to send the repair shop back to my house and have tech support on the phone to get the numbers of the old parts. So they did and reordered the parts over night. That took 5 days and we got a control panel and a part for a stove and we tried to call the tech support person who is now not available. He is in California at class. I was also told there were three different control panels for this model number.
Now, I am not a repair person but I suggested why not send the other two panels and just return the one that is not the right one, but Bosch can't do that. But guess what, the panel they put on Friday does not work, so we have a lock sensor and a boot but we are right back where we started five weeks ago. We called Bosch and they are going to overnight the part. The one I asked if they would send with the wrong one they sent this week. So now I’m going on six weeks without this high dollar energy efficient machine! Countless trips and over $150.00 at the laundry mat and at friends and relatives’ houses doing laundry and the stress on my family. You could only guess how much laundry a family of six accumulates in a week and this is going on week six.

Go out and buy a cheap set of uprights; if they last 2 or 3 years, I believe you're money ahead. At least they have been making these for awhile and have improved on the parts. I purchased a Bosch 500 series washer and dryer as I believed that the front loaders would be energy efficient and the best on the market. I have had them just over a year now and am on my fourth service call. I have read many of the other complaints and it seems that we are all having similar issues. I do have a couple suggestions for others that I have uncovered. First, for the dryer not completing a cycle and alarming regarding the lint filter, I found that the ecosystems do not work well and this was confirmed by a service tech. The filter really has nothing to do with the problem. The sensors are the issue as they feel portions of the clothes that are dry and stop the cycle while other areas of the clothes may still be damp or wet. Use the timed drying cycle. Just set it for about an hour or the clothes will not come out dry. I have had other issues with the dryer but it seems to be working pretty well now.
As for the washer, the major problem that I have had is that you simply cannot put very large loads in or you will have the spin cycle fail. This leaves you with soaking wet clothes at the conclusion of the cycle. You must remove some of the wet clothes and rerun the entire program again and hopefully, you took out enough and it will properly spin. This has worked for me but is a real pain as you must run the entire wash cycle again. You cannot skip to a spin cycle to take care of this. I did find out about the Quick Wash feature which runs for only 35 minutes. In the end, I would never buy another Bosch product. I am very disappointed with these products. So, I'm left with a broken oven and am forced to have to buy another one. This is ridiculous.

I purchased a frontload washing machine and want to know why there is not a national recall on them. They continue to market them in every retailer in the country. They have horrible mold build up, they don't clean the clothes, and the $100+ seals need to be replaced every year or two. How does this go unchecked? With no exaggeration, everyone I know has an issue and even the salespeople acknowledge there are major issues.

I bought a new Bosch dishwasher on 8/15/09. Delivery and installation (just a mere $199 extra!) were set up for today (8/26/09). I was told the installer would call me yesterday (8/25) between 6-9 p.m.to set up an installation time. I got no call from the installer last night. I took the day off today to wait for the installation. It is now 5:02 p.m. and no one has shown up... I've been waiting since 7 a.m. grrr! I called your "800" number and was promised a call back within an hour - that never happened! I never got a call back. I called my local store where I purchased the appliance and talked with "Rick". He promised to check into things even though "appliances" isn't his area. He did look into things and he got back to me! Please reward Rick...he's a very good employee!
Bottom line...no one is coming to install my new dishwasher today. Now I have to find another free day and wait again! I'm very angry. Your professionalism is lost on me. I just paid nearly $700 for a dishwasher and installation and thus far I've been stiffed. If I don't hear from the installer tomorrow, I’m reporting you to the Better Business Bureau because you ripped me off on the huge installation charge ($199) and if no dishwasher is forthcoming, I want my money back! This is the end of my story. I can't wait to hear your response.

My Bosch dishwasher SHU43C with serial no compliant with the recall list burned out the circuit board just like the recall incidents. Their online form said my dishwasher was covered, but they told me on the phone it was not. Still under warranty, I requested for repair. The guy they referred me to stood around for an hour and played with the dishwasher then said it was a circuit board problem, as we told him Bosch said to us before he came. Now he is charging us $25 an hour to fix it.
This thing is under warranty, only 3 years old, and was supposed to be Consumer Digest's best pick. It was expensive. Bosch told me, "We aren't going to pay for you to fix your dishwasher." They were so horribly rude, yet were eager to refer us to Capital Appliance Repair in Boise as being "So wonderful and nice." Sure, if you call charging $25 every 15 minutes "Nice." Average wage in Boise, by the way, is $8 an hour.
I have never even had a dishwasher break down in all my life, and I am 53 years old. What a piece of junk and what rude customer service. I despise them now. Additionally, except for the slash/22 at the end of our model no our dishwasher was to be included in the recall for the very same problem. They told us that ours was made after they stopped producing machines with this flaw, right. That's why we have the same flaw? We smelled burning, electrical burn smell as the dishwasher quit mid cycle and never worked again. We could have had a fire, but they don't even care.

I purchased entire new set of Bosch appliances plus washer and dryer. Dishwasher doesn't dry dishes. Sanitization cycle doesn't work. Motherboard is dead. Service tech can't fix it and they want to send a second person to see the exact same thing. Fridge ice maker takes 8 hours and made 2 ice cubes. I left if for 24 hours and it made 7 ice cubes. When it dispenses them, it puts more ice cubes on the floor than it puts in a glass. These are all stainless steel appliances top of the line with full 5-year warranties. I get the runaround from their customer service group with multiple people who have to see issues before management decides what to do. If you buy Bosch, stick with Sears if you do. If you can avoid them, think about it. I would not buy the dishwasher for sure ever again. I even offered more money to get a unit that dries dishes. Given the water that fell out, I had to pay my new home builder to fix three damaged tiles.

We purchased Bosch frontloading oversized washer and dryer three years ago and within six months, the units both started cracking around the screws. Now a corner piece of the dryer door chipped off where it had cracked. When I contacted customer service, they asked that I send pictures and we were told that it was not the result of a product defect but due to blunt force trauma. It is outrageous to define closing the doors as blunt force trauma.

Bosch does not care about customer service. I wrote them twice regarding my problem and was told too bad. Don't buy Bosch. The expensive products break over and over and the customer service is the worst. In December 2005, my moved into our brand new Shea house and upgraded all our kitchen appliances to include a stainless Bosch microwave and Bosch dishwasher custom to the cabinets. Unexpectedly, we have had numerous problems with the Bosch products we purchased and of course all out of warranty:
March 18, 2008, $194.13 - Microwave Bosch model HMB405/01 serial 502TA00281 - 14 days without a microwave. Door closing mechanism broke; January 15, 2008, $123.00 - Dishwasher Bosch SHX33A05UC/22, FD850901070 - 12 days without a dishwasher. Now, July 6, 2009, minimum $99 visit + $120 labor per hour not including what parts need changing - same microwave Bosch model HMB 405/01, serial 502TA00281 - scheduled for July 21, 2009, 15 days without a microwave. It stopped working all together.
My complaint is this: Prior to my top of the line Bosch stainless steel appliances, I owned the average Whirlpool white brands and never have had a problem with my older homes microwave and dishwasher. The fact that I know Bosch's serial number and model numbers is surprising to me. I expect when I pay top dollar for top equipment, it would work. As the motto goes, "Invented for life."

Unless I clean dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, they do not clean well. So far, it has cost us over $600 to replace ignitors in the oven and I am not a person who does a lot of baking or uses the oven extensively.

On February 1, when the Home Depot Expo announced that they were closing, I thought it would be a good idea to buy a new dishwasher. I had heard that Bosch was a good brand with good reviews, so off to the Expo to buy my new dishwasher with 10% off! I bought the dishwasher by Bosch, knowing that I might have to buy some parts which I could not find with the machine. The cost of the dishwasher with the 10% off came to $1304.10 plus delivery charge of $129.00 and sales tax of $101.07 bringing the total purchase price to $1,534.17. The model of dishwasher I bought was SHX68M09UC/46.
After delivery, I noticed that the toe plate and the other parts to install it were missing, so going to their website, I bought the toe plate with shipping and tax, it came to $79.70. Next, I found out I also, I needed a door seal for another, it cost me of $17.42. All this time asking Bosch, could you please send your service tech to help me obtain the correct parts, and help me to have them installed correctly! The answer was no, not covered on the warranty. Upon further inspection, I found that I also needed one more part which costs $62.30, but because Bosch was tired of me calling them, sold me the part for $31.15. Now, after spending all this money, $128.27, I found that with the machine I have there has no way to install the parts. There were screws sent, but on the machine I have there were no nuts for the screws to go into. I figured out a way to attach the part thinking now I have a machine that is complete.
After the machine was installed, I noticed that the screen in the front of the machine would not display the proper program sequence. The following symbols should be displayed, a brush showing that the dishes are being washed, a star showing rinse, and three squiggly lines showing it's drying. The rinse symbol never showed. Bosch sent the tech three times and he changed most parts but the rinse symbol never showed! I expect for the money I've spent on this machine that all parts should work. Bosch has a very poor attitude toward customer service. They agreed to buy back the machine and I submitted my invoice. I then went out and purchased another machine, not Bosch.
The next day, I received a call from them, they will replace the machine. Seems one hand does not know what the other is doing. They refuse to pay me for the sales tax or what it cost to have it delivered. Talking to them, it is their policy to only pay for the machine.
After all this aggravation, I never want to do business with them again. I thought as Marshall Field once said "the customer is always right!" I asked them to make me whole, but you know company policy comes before customer satisfaction! So add this to the list of others who are not happy with Bosch! Thank you for your attention to this matter!

We purchased the Bosch hot beverage system back on 12/20/08. We had issues, on occasion, with its blowing through coffee discs. Eventually, near the end of March, the coffee maker blew through its last disc and just started spitting water. It didn't matter if there was a T-disc inserted or not. And even when the water was gone, the machine still spit water.
I contacted Target, and we were 2 days past the date that was acceptable for a return or exchange. The woman at Target told me that they didn't even carry the machine anymore because they were, and I quote, a piece of **. I contacted Bosch, and after spending 45 minutes on the phone, repeating my self 4 times, my husband finally got them to send us a new machine. They said the maximum time that it would take would be 2-3 weeks. We waited 6.
Today, less than 2 months after we received and started to use the "new" machine (this one occasionally blew through discs too, even though we were using bottled water like the woman told us we needed to), it blew through its last disc and started to do the exact same thing as the first one. I called Bosch. I happened to get the same exact woman who "helped" (I'm using that term loosely.) us last time and told her to just read the history, so I wouldn't have to repeat my self. But I told her that I wanted a refund, as I didn't want to have to deal with this anymore. She told me that they wouldn't process a refund, because I purchased the machine through Target and not online.
After talking with a supervisor, I got nowhere, other than she did tell me that Bosch will continue to replace this machine every time it breaks for the next 50 years or so, as long as we might need it. Bosch obviously does not stand behind their product. Do not waste your time please. The coffee is good, but I have had better. We are out $100, which is the cost of the machine. I can still get a replacement, but I know that if 2 machines already had issues, this will be a thorn in my side for the rest of my life or as long as I care to deal with this stupid machine.

I have a Bosch Nexxt washer and dryer, and I would not kick a bull in the ** with it. It takes absolutely forever to wash clothes, and if you put a drop too much detergent in it, it will not ever spin out. I purchased these and a Bosch dishwasher from Tideland Appliance. I am not happy with my dishwasher either, and I had them come out several times, because I could never get my washer to spin out, when I was washing a bedspread or towels. They tried to run it through different cycles to no avail, so I contacted Bosch, and they told me I was using too much detergent, which I told them I was using what the instructions told me to use.
She then proceeded to tell me to use less than that, which would have been hardly any detergent at all. There is a line on the cap of the detergent cap, and she told me to drop way below the line, and you can hardly physically do that. However, I did try that, and although I never felt that it would even clean my clothes, it still did not work. She told me to only wash a couple of towels at a time, not what I bought a large capacity washer for, so they would spin out properly. That worked, but is not acceptable for me. However, it still takes over an hour , around 1 and 1/2 to wash a load of clothes.
The economic damage this has caused me is that I have put this washer/dryer in storage, because I cannot get anyone to buy it, and have purchased a new Whirlpool Cabriolet. This has caused me great economic damage, but it was costing me much more to take 1 and 1/2 hours to wash a load of clothes.

I purchased a Bosch 2400E LP tankless hot water heater around 2 years ago. When I first bought the unit, it was $1200 for the heater and $300-$400 for the easy vent air intake and removal pipes, and $700 to install the water heater and a larger propane tank to operate the unit. The unit worked fine for the first 6 months, and then it started to act up with all different types of errors, e3, ec, e4. One morning I went to get in the shower and the water was ice cold. Due to this, I went to see if the water heater had another error and needed to be reset. When I got downstairs to the basement, water was shooting out of the heater from all sides. I quickly shut the heater down and turned off all water valves and when I removed the cover to the heater, there was a large crack in the heat exchanger on the left hand side of the heat exchanger. I then contacted the Bosch tech support for information on the warranty. While talking to the tech support representative, they basically said that the warranty was void because the water heater supposedly froze and cracked the heat exchange pipe. I then asked the tech how could the water heater freeze if it’s in a house less than 4 years old with a heated basement. He then said, “Well, I’m sorry, but it froze and we can’t cover the warranty on heat exchangers freezing.” Overall, I got $2200 invested in this unit and got less than a year’s worth of use out of it. I would highly recommend buying from another company other than Bosch because Bosch doesn’t stand by there products.

I purchased a Bosch Nexxt Premium washer and dryer set in January of 2006 from Lowe's. At the time of purchase, I also purchased the Lowe's Extended Protection Plan. From the start, I had problems with the washer and dryer. The washer would not extract all of the water. It smelled. My clothes smelled and it shook violently even though it was on a level solid ceramic tile floor. The dryer was noisy and made a scraping sound when the drum turned. During the first year, the washer and dryer were covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Although I complained about these issues, I was pretty much told that I would have to live with the washer and dryer and its defects. When the manufacturer's warranty expired, the Lowe's Protection Plan went into effect. I went to Lowe's and complained. They told me to complain to the Lowe's Extended Warranty group.
The washer and dryer have both been serviced for numerous repairs; however, Lowe's is now telling me that I must have 4 consecutive repairs requiring parts in the same calendar year in order for Lowe's to replace the unit, and previous repairs made under the manufacturer's warranty do not count. This was not made clear to me at the time of purchase and I did not receive documentation of the coverage from Lowe's when I purchased the plan. Currently, the washer is completely inoperable. It seems it ate an infant child's sock that went into the pump. The dryer works; however, it makes a loud scrapping noise and sometimes it stops before the load is complete. I have been waiting for parts for the dryer since January. It seems that sourcing parts from Bosch is an issue for the repair company as well.

I wanted to bring something to your attention concerning my experience with the Bosch Corporation and hopefully you can forward this information to the appropriate party in the hopes that I can regain my confidence in your products.
From a purely historical standpoint, my brother-in-law, Horst **, a German citizen who has been in the States for about 35 years, has spent that entire time telling me of the superiority of German products. It was for that reason that when I remodeled my kitchen a couple of years ago, I replaced all the existing fixtures with all Bosch appliances. Those appliances included a new dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, and oven.
Since the passing of my wife (prior to the remodeling), I do not use the appliances very often and when I decided to have a party at my house for the holidays on December 20, 2008, it was probably the first time that the oven got any type of serious use. During the evening, it became apparent that the oven could not be shut off and actually the heat was getting worse, filling the kitchen with smoke, and creating somewhat of a panic of the approximately 50 people who attended. The knob of the oven actually melted and we were forced to pull the hot oven away from the wall and lower one of my guests down behind by holding his legs to pull the plug. What I was left with was an oven which was inoperable, a very stained top of the oven surface due to the spillage of food during the melee and, as my kitchen is not very large, as the smoke was bellowing outward panicking some of the attendees, I sustained a dent in the top of my refrigerator door (located near one of the doorways). All in all, it was not a landmark evening for myself and it certainly did not speak well of Bosch.
I contacted the store I purchased the item from the very next day and they did send out a service tech who informed me that the main problem was an apparent design flaw on the oven, wherein the controls were glued into the top of the unit. The heat from utilizing four burners (which I really didn't understand because I assumed that an oven was designed to allow for use of all burners at one time) melted the glue. The controls fell out of alignment, and hence the oven could not be shut off or controlled. He issued a report which promulgated the letter which I received on December 23rd from BSH Home Appliances requesting that I fill out an insurance claim. I am enclosing a copy of that correspondence, as well as all of the claim information which was submitted.
On January 27, 2009, after repeated phone calls from myself to the claims coordinator (who never, ever picked up the phone to speak to me), I received a call from Janelle giving my problem a claim # and, now that it is March 4th (over two months since the actual event). I still have a non-operable oven.
To put it mildly, I am extremely frustrated. My lawyer tells me I have a good class action suit against your company due to a known design defect. I have told him that I do not care (at least as of today) and that all I really want is a working stove and an undented refrigerator. I certainly do not believe that I am asking very much and I think I have been extremely reasonable and certainly very patient concerning this matter. But it appears that I need your help to get this resolved as the customer service representatives who have been involved in this project, as well as the insurance companies have been non-responsive.
Furthermore, please do not make my brother-in-law into a liar, as he still wants me to believe that German is best? I really appreciate you taking time out of your valuable schedule to read this extremely lengthy letter and I look forward to a great conclusion to this problem.

I have been installing tankless water heaters for about 30 years and servicing Bosch for about 20. I find more often than not, they are improperly installed even with the best of intentions. I have found an extraordinary amount of failures with the 240 which is longer under any warranty and was a re-labeled Tagaki. The 250 SX in my Ca coastal area is one failed gas valve after another resulting in an EA error code. Given the cost of repair and options, not a single one has been replaced with a Bosch and most are eager to replace them instead of repairing them. Bosch created an Authorized service provider program where we went to service at least 6, 635 models in a new town home project in Palo Alto, CA. Most were out of adjustment for CO2 emissions, a few were control boards and one was a newly failed gas valve.
Many calls were to address noise when these first fired and while they were operating which was a factory CO2 adjustment and should have not existed but we charged Bosch customers all day long for having to correct what should have been done in the factory in Portugal in the first place. I'm sure Bosch received complaints about us because we would not service them but we begin to see not only illegal installations but dangerous ones too where we began to ask homeowners to have their plumbers come back and make corrections first. Up until 2 years ago Tankless were illegal in San Jose CA but there are 1000's installed with just as many problems.
Bosch not only failed to pay for services but had removed me from their service site. They really can't take criticism. I do not know of a single plumber that will install these and no wholesale house carries them in stock. Lowe's sells so few that they may opt to longer carry them as Home Depot switched to another brand. My word of advice is carefully address your needs but more importantly who is there to service you when the time comes. Call your local plumbers and ask how much experience do they have with tankless and ask the service providers what problems they see before buying any brand or model.
We have about 30 tankless water heater service calls per week and install on the average 3 per week. We no longer service the Santa Clara Valley nor the mid SF peninsula for Bosch because of extremely poor tech support on their side and this is from a field service provider. They are trying to provide better service. I will credit that but setting on the phone for most customers have resulted in our experience removing and replacing their products. Tankless water heaters are the future but without service no product will remain on the Market. If you want my opinion, Rinnai is the current best product on the market and has shown excellent after market support.

Within the first year, the machine started to have problems stopping after a complete wash cycle had been completed - usually prior to the first rinse cycle. We had a repairman out to look at it and he found nothing. We continued to put up with these issues until this past spring the machine wouldn't spin - period. When the technician that was sent by our Home Warranty Company came to diagnose and fix the problem, the only thing he could recommend was to replace the control panel, which he did. The repairman worked for Sears and admitted that he didn't know anything about the machines and had no specs on how to fix it but was very kind and helpful. This seemed to help the problem for a few months but in the past few weeks we have once again noticed the machine would not complete a complete wash/rinse cycle. In the meantime, a load of clothes sits in the washer. Calls to the 1-800 Customer Support number are a waste of time. My gas stove is leaking gas. I have called Bosch numerous times to get a service rep. The service rep in my area will no longer service Bosch products because of the trouble required and the length of time to get reimbursed for his service work; therefore, Bosch called another service representative for me. I waited four days for this person to arrive.
I was told that I would be charged travel time to my residence because of the distance between the representative and my location. After waiting four days for this person to arrive, I called Bosch to find out if I can just hire the other person who used to service Bosch products and pay the full price, forfeiting the warranty contract. I was told that he would have to call Bosch for PERMISSION to service the product that I OWN so that he could purchase parts from Bosch. I am stuck with either having to pay for a service representative to travel at least an hour to my home or with having to live with a leaking gas stove in my home.

Our Bosch dishwasher was purchased by the previous homeowner only three years ago. It has stopped working correctly. It ran for almost four hours last night without finishing the cycle. I checked and this seems to be a very common problem with this particular model. I have talked to the customer service people at Bosch and they will only pay for a new circuit board - not labor.
I can buy a new dishwasher for what we would spend in labor on this expensive dishwasher that is obviously defective. A company making high end products such as this should stand behind the products. When a large number of people have the exact same problem with the same model, obviously there is a problem with that model.
It is going to cost us over $200 to fix this dishwasher. For that price, we can get a cheaper dishwasher that will last longer than three years.

November I purchased a Bosch tankless water heater. Before purchasing it I read the info on their site and followed instructions. In order to have it installed it asks you to enter your zip code to get a list of authorized installers in your area. My zip came up with 0 installers. But the message says Our database cannot currently locate a Service Agent/Installer in your zip/postal code range. Licensed plumbers or gas technicians are qualified to service or install our products. Any service or installation questions can be answered by calling our Technical Support Department or by emailing. Our tech support is available 8:30 - 5:00 ET .
Therefore I had Jack's Plumbing/heating, who had installed tankless for others, install ours. In March of 08 the heater started having problems. I called Jack's to fix it and he made some adjustments that didn't work. So I called my gas company who thought it needed a bigger gas line which they installed. They couldn't fix it.
I called their Bosch tech support and they didn't know what was wrong so they offered to have the nearest Bosch authorized repairman fix it . They said he was 40 miles away from Northeast Tankless Water Heater Supply company. He called and said it would be $120 to come out plus $.55/ mile plus $60/hr labor. But he had all special tools and could fix it. He couldn't.
He then called Bosch and I was told they wouldn't honor the warranty because the original installer must have messed it up.I could have a new one installed for $2100 more dollars. Needless to say I no longer wanted a Bosch because no one seems to be able to fix them including the nearest Authorized repairman they sent who, by the way, was 80 miles away not 40.
I just want to return the unit for a refund as their site says Satisfaction Guaranteed. They are not responding to my requests. I feel I did everything as per their instructions. 1. Had a licensed plumber/heater install it. 2. Had gas co. look at it 3.Had their Authorized repairman check it So now I have 3 repair bills and went a week without hot water. I believe they should refund me at least the cost of the heater $829.95
I had to replace it with a Rinnai for $1800 which has been running flawless.

I have owned a Bosch Washer and driver for 3 years, purchased them for our new house. I researched and all data pointed to Bosch as the best on the market, at that time, so we purchased the top of the line Nexxt washer and dryer from Home Expo Design Center. They have no worked properly since coming in the door. The dryer we received had a bad door which had to be replaced.
Since then the dryer squeaks, the washer has squeaked, we have had bearings and rods changed. I have been told I have tile floor to stop the vibration, and I have been told the standard duct for the dryer is incorrect, though the duct fits the duct connector coming out of the dryer. I have spoken with Bosch many times and they say its nothing wrong, but I live with the problem machines. They provide no support and I will never purchase another Bosch product.
Their customer service is awful and they suspect the customer is lying even though they have had to send out service people several times for the same problem for over 3 years, but they say they have no record. I just want a quiet properly performing unit. Each time they come out the consumer has to take time off and they consumer looses time and money while the repair person is on the job.

My 1-year-old Bosch stove was leaking gas. I called PG&E on Dec 19, 2007, because I smelled gas in my kitchen. Prior to this I had been getting extreme headaches daily. PG&E shut off my gas and told me that the stove was leaking and that the shut off valve on the stove was defective. I called Sears where I bought my stove and called Bosch. They said that they would fix or replace the stove. This was on Dec 19, 2007. It is now Feb 29, 2008, and I still do not have a stove. I have called and written letters to Bosch, the CEO, and to their customer care center. I was told by a lady at Bosch that it would take a few weeks to process my paperwork. This was around Jan 10, 2008. I mailed forms to them and had my son call and fax forms to them. Still no answer.
I was finally told by a man at Bosch to stop calling all the time. I thought this was very rude. I have been very patient. However, over 2 months have passed by and no stove. I am a 65-year-old women who lives alone. I have had no stove for Christmas, New Years and throughout the winter months. I have had to rely on friends and my son to bring hot foods or foods that can be cooked in a microwave. This has been a nightmare for me. I appreciate that Bosch will exchange my stove. However, to wait over 2 months plus to get a new stove in unforgivable. How can these people do this? I cannot cook, have friends or my family over-- nothing....They have taken months away from me that I cannot get back. Try living without a stove for 2 months and keep getting their promises that it will be another 10 days and another 10 days....
Mental anguish for startes. Massive and severe headaches most likely from the leaking gas in the kitchen where I spend alot of my time reading and haveing coffee with friends. Loss of food that I bought that I cannot cook in a microwave.Last but not least I am so tired of having to call, write and compLAIN. This has been a nightmare for me and my family.

My Bosch stainless steel convection range computer failed within one year causing damage to door parts and control knobs due to heat escaping at the top of the door during cleaning. Repaired under warranty without argument after waiting 2 months for parts to arrive. The computer has failed again within 3 months of the warranted repair. Bosch will cover the part but not labor.
It appears that Bosch expects consumers to pay for labor to replace their parts that fail prematurely. We expect years of service from products that represent themselves as high end performers. How many times will we pay $200 labor charges before we have to junk the $2000 range?

We were very very lucky indeed that neither myself, my husband nor our 9 month old baby (who loves looking at his reflection in the oven door....) were hurt in this incident. The most disappointing thing of all is the lack of any form of concern or even a response from Bosch or the store from where we bought it from.
I am sad to hear Adam's (from the Gold Coast) experience and the injuries suffered by his mother. Shouldn't Bosch be recalling these ovens that are clearly defective?

The duel fuel freestanding range takes 30 minutes to preheat. I had it checked twice because I thought something was wrong with it. The temperature was correct.
I called Bosch and got a very nasty, mean lady who told me that I should go do something else while it preheats!
I asked why the 30 minutes isn't disclosed to consumers and she said they didn't need to disclose it because it was standard for the industry. My old oven took 10 minutes at the most. I would have never purchased this oven had I known about this flaw.
Otherwise it cooks very well and has required no repairs in the year I have owned it.

Purchased the Bosch Nexxt 500 washer and dryer.
Washer has 3 major issues:
1) small pieces of clothing (like socks) get stuck between the wash tub and the door, in the rubber gasket. Therefore they don't spin and come out sopping wet.
2) the gasket area between the tub and the door gets slimy and smelly
3) the washer when on spin cycle vibrates extensively. if i didn't have it wedged between the wall and the dryer it would probably vibrate across the room!
The dryer has 3 issues:
1) Although it's stainless steel, it produces a huge amount of static electricity and requires some kind of anti-static device so that everything doesn't stick together. Not supposed to require that since it's stainless!
2) Even when on the 'very dry' setting for perm press, the clothes are still often damp when the cycle is complete
3) things get all balled up if there are sheets or towels in the load. this prevents things from drying appropriately. and if i stop the dryer to unball things, then the cycle starts all over again from the beginning.
for the price, you'd think that Bosch would have worked out all these issues. I can only say that i would never buy a Bosch washer or dryer again.
A major hassle. Time consuming, price too high for the value, and just a great displeasure after hearing such 'wonderful' things about Bosch. they must have really good marketing people.

My Bosch NEXXT 500 series gas dryer started to read an E:01 message in Oct. I called customer service; they told me the next available time was Nov 5. Technician comes and says there's a computer malfunction. He needs to order the part. So he comes back a week later. He opens the box, and it's the wrong part. He tells us to call customer service and reschedule; we called and they told us they won't have the part until Dec. 18. What can we do? Today is the 18th. Warren came and all of a sudden he says its not a computer problem--it's because the air-duct is clogged. He pulls out the duct connected to the machine and yes... the error message was gone. We ran a test cycle and after 10 minutes, no error message. So instead of him waiting there for an entire 40 minutes (one full dry cycle), we asked him to give us his number, and if there's a problem could he come back? He gave us his number and left. Half-hour later we realize that the regular cycle (40 min.) jumped and ended within 15 minutes. The timer was jumping minutes, top it off... the dryer was not heating properly.
I called Warren and asked him to come back and just replace the computer part he was supposed to replace (the one we've been waiting a month for). He said he won't, persistent that it's a duct problem. I called customer service, and they said if the technician says its a duct problem, then its a duct problem. I complained: well the first guy said it was a computer problem, this guy says its a duct problem...what's the next guy gonna say? Customer service says they can send another guy...the next available date is Jan. 15, 2008.
This situation has put a family of 5 without a dryer in the dead of winter. It's not like we have the option of drying our clothes outside. Customer service was immensely unhelpful. BOSCH claims they won't replace it with a working unit because the technician didn't report it as unrepairable. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. It will break on you...and you'll never get it to work again. WARRANTY MEANS NOTHING TO BOSCH.

I purchased the Bocsh AquaStar 250SX NG from Lowes in Dec. 06. It is Dec. 07, and the unit is completely useless at this point. It never operated as it was supposed to. It never had constant hot water, and had a lot of cold spots even after many quick fixes that were recommended. I have had nonstop error codes; EC and EA. The unit constantly shuts down and needs to be re-set. Recently the erroors were coming more often to the point were it would not operate at all. I called Bocsh's tech support. The first call I sat on hold for an hour and forty minutes. After a tech finally came on the phone, I was disconnected. I called back and waited yet another hour to speak with someone. After I finally was able to speak with a tech, I did all that was asked of me. I even had a new gas meter installed to get the required gas pressure and then some. I asked if they could send someone out under the warranty and was told I could hire a plumber myself and pay for it, or I could continue dealing with the techs over the phone to solve the problems. I finally got the unit working myself.
The next day I received an EO error code; the control board is now dead. I have three small children at home all under 10 years of age that had to be taken to their grandparents house for three nights to get a bath. I finally gave up and bought a Bradford White 50 gallon gas hot water tank. I now have hot water with no problems. I do believe that Bocsh and Lowe's need to be held responsible for not standing behind their products.
I lost two days of work, close to $600.00 I spent close to 2,000.00 for the unit and re-plumbing to use the unit and a little over $500.00 for the new tank.

He looked at the dishwasher and phoned tech support for Bosch. They determined it was a leaking tub caused by spot welds. Bosch said there is no repair for this. We wrote Bosch who said they will not stand by product because it does not have a transferable warranty.
Our home warranty will not cover the dishwasher because the Bosch factory tech told the repairman that the problem was caused by faulty spot welds, a common problem Bosch is experiencing. So, even w/a home warranty, Bosch saw to it that we will not get anything for our 3 years NEW Bosch dishwasher.
