With its 35 years of experience, the Arrow Lift team can configure chairs to many unusual stair situations, such as narrow and curved staircases.

The weight capacity is typically 300 pounds, though some models are available with 350- or 400-pound limits. Each chair runs on self-charging batteries to ensure accessibility during a power outage.

Arrow Lift offers different features to meet each user's unique needs. These include:

  • Powered footrest folds
  • Slim-line controls
  • Joystick controls
  • Power swivel
  • Safety features such as sensor switches and barrier arm safeties

How does Arrow Lift work?

You can visit your local stair lift showroom to see how different models of Arrow Lift stair lifts work. Arrow Lift offers free in-home consultations. You can also opt for an appointment over the phone to review basic details and answer your questions. While an in-home visit may still be required to allow the team to take measurements, this virtual-style consultation can help Arrow Lift better understand your mobility needs.

You can call Arrow Lift to set up a free, no-obligation consultation. During this time, a stair lift specialist will share information about products and options, answer your questions and provide you with brochures. This person can also help you determine if installation permits or licenses are required.

Once the specialist has the necessary information, you’ll receive a custom quote. If you move forward, a team of licensed technicians does the installation.

Arrow Lift also offers maintenance and repair services for stair lifts. You can purchase a service plan to ensure you aren’t surprised by any expensive out-of-pocket repairs down the road.

If you reach the point where you no longer need your lift, Arrow Lift can remove it for you. If you purchased a new Arrow Lift stair lift, the company removes your old one for free. The company may even buy back the chair for a portion of its original price.

Arrow Lift costs

Arrow Lift straight stair lifts typically run between -lift-$2,500 and $6,000 for a basic model. If you need a custom, curved-rail stair lift, you can expect to pay at least $10,000. The rail length is a key component in the price from there.

Arrow Lift’s costs include installation, warranty and permits and inspection fees. This way, you won’t have any unexpected expenses during the installation process.

To help you save even more, the company offers reconditioned stair lifts that are lightly used. Financing options are also available.

I got ahold of four different stairlift companies. And Arrow Lift was the only one that answered me back. I liked them. They were reasonable, and they were local. They're just a mile or so away from where we live. I wanted that versus someone from wherever.

The experience with the rep went pretty well. First of all, he set up a time, and he was here on time. And I invited him in. We sat down. We started just chatting about the deal and showed him where we would want it. And so, he started and gave us four different options for what we wanted. And we picked the one that we wanted. He wrote everything down. He was polite and nice.

He called the office to see when he could schedule a guy. He was here on a Thursday, and they came on a Monday. So, it was a pretty quick turnaround. He was very knowledgeable. He knew everything inside and out about the stairlift. There was no “What about this? What about that?” He went through it all. He was excellent. He sold us on everything. Not pressured us, but he knew what he was talking about. He didn't have to refer back to paperwork or say, “I don't know about this, but I could check.” He knew everything. And he was a local guy.

The installer came in, and he knew what was to be installed and where. There was no “Tell me where you want this thing” or “What am I supposed to do?” type of deal. He said, “Is this the stairway, the only stairway?” I said, “Yes.” And he got right after it and had it done in about an hour. He had all the parts. There was none of this “I got to go run after this or get that.” He knew right what to do when he walked in. He had a plan, or they had made it so that they could get in and get out in no time at all. And there was no disruption in anything that we did. They were pretty heads-up.

The stairlift is great. Love it. And the guy that installed it did a very good job. And it's been running fine ever since. The stairlift is straight. But we got the battery backup. Also, the remote control, where if someone was downstairs and I wanted to come downstairs, I could hit the remote control and send the chair back up for me to get down there.

And I'm gonna pick them versus several of the other ones. I had one company that finally got ahold of me a month after I got ahold of them. They advertise on TV all the time. So, Arrow Lift is in Urbandale, which is the next suburb over. They're not very far away and have the service. And I've heard from them since, too. They’ve called and asked if we've had any problems with it. They followed up on it so far. They were a prompt and courteous company. They called and wanted to make sure everything was right. Like, “Is this running right? Is this right? And is there any kind of repair we need, like tighten up the rail?” They went over all that stuff and answered yes or no.

I had interviews with three different companies and for our situation, Arrow Lift’s configuration was the best for what we needed. There would have been something sticking out into the hall downstairs that would have been a trip hazard with the ones from the other companies. I'm the sole caretaker of my 95-year-old mother. If I trip and break my neck or break my hip, then we're both goners. Dealing with the salesperson was wonderful. He was the last person I talked to and he came at it with a different angle and I was very impressed. He followed through, making sure that everything was running smoothly.

We live in a split-level house, and we got the curved stairlift. It goes up seven steps to a platform, makes a U-turn and goes up another seven steps. The installation took a couple of hours and it went smoothly. The quality is very good and I'm very happy with what we got. It was expensive but well worth the money that we spent. I would recommend Arrow Lift to anybody. But they should go through the process of interviewing and checking out different lifts because there are different ones for different situations. It's a little tight, but it's the one that works for us. We enjoy it.

Thank you, Janet — your thoughtful review means a lot. We’re glad our team was able to find a curved stairlift configuration that fit your split-level home and helped avoid creating a trip hazard downstairs. That kind of detail matters, especially when you’re caring for your mother and thinking carefully about safety for both of you.

It’s also great to hear that the installation went smoothly and that your salesperson followed through to make sure everything stayed on track. We’re grateful you chose Arrow Lift after taking the time to compare your options, and we’re so glad the stairlift is working well for your situation.

My 89-year-old mother moved in with us, so we got a curved indoor stairlift. When I was online to search for stairlift companies, I did the "contact me" thing to say I'm interested and possibly looking at stairlifts. After that, I did everything else by phone with a human. Arrow Lift had a showroom local to where I am and their service center seems to be local as well. Nelson who was not a high-pressure sales kind of guy, which I like, gave us the information and answered any questions. He was patient with us, respectful towards my mom who was there with us as well as very willing to do whatever needed to be done in terms of trying to arrange a time for us to go to the showroom, and that he would be there so that he could show us the different combination of things that he had been talking about that he thought might work best for mom.

The installation was fine. I have a 110-year-old house and the stairway from the first floor to the second floor is narrow. The stairlift fits fine, which is one of the reasons that we went with the curved one. The chair wouldn't be sitting in the stairway itself. We purchased a power chair and there was a fuse that was missing. On initial installation, we didn't have that, but there is the manual option to swivel the chair around. So, that was fine, and then they had to order the fuse. As soon as it came in, they called us to say, "Okay. We've got all the parts that we're looking for. And when can we come out and get this stuff finalize absolutely everything?" However, we'd been having a bit of a trouble with the the chair. We found out when the second guys came out with the fuse and the other part they needed, they discovered that at the factory, there had been a wire that wasn't 100% connected the way it needed to be.

My mom would come down and she would get off the chair, then it was still beeping like it was not charging. I could walk by and it would stop beeping, then I could turn and walk by it again, and it would start beeping again. It's like there's a ghost in the chair. With the second install visit, all that's been fixed. My mom's power chair thing is working, and we're all happy.

The stairlift seems to be good quality. With the curved rails, they had to be imported from across the sea, and with our lovely president with the tariffs, the cost was more than what it would have been with the other company. However, I liked Nelson, the sales guy. I was willing to pay more for having local service in a local showroom. Would I have liked the cost to be less? Sure. But, we were fine enough with the pricing, because we went ahead and bought it. Overall, everything has been positive, from whenever I called in to go, "Hey, what's going on?" to Nelson, to the different teams that came out for the installations. Everybody has been very positive. It's made me comfortable with the decision that we made to go with them to begin with. I would tell people to call Nelson.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review, Nanci! We’re honored that you entrusted us with helping your mother remain comfortable and safe in your home. It’s wonderful to hear that having a local showroom and service team, along with Nelson’s patient and no-pressure approach, helped give you confidence in your decision.

We’re also pleased that the curved stair lift was able to fit well within your home's unique layout. While the need for a follow-up visit due to a factory-related issue was certainly unexpected, we’re glad our team was able to identify the cause and get everything working properly. Hearing that your mother is now using the lift comfortably and that everyone is happy with the result means a great deal to us.

We appreciate your kind words about Nelson and the rest of our team. Knowing that your experience—from your first inquiry to the installation and follow-up service—left you feeling comfortable with your decision is incredibly meaningful. My husband needed a chairlift. I found Arrow Lift on the net. I looked other people up as well. I decided to let Arrow Lift come, and they came and gave me a quote and showed me the information. I was satisfied with them. The installer did a very good job. He left everything so clean and nice. The stairlift goes up and down, but on the stairs, it curves to let my husband on the porch. I showed him how to use it after they showed me. I went in person to where they sell them. My daughter went, and the lady showed us how to use it. It looks very nice. Then I came home and showed him. The stairlift was very expensive, but that's what they cost and I'm happy with that.

I would recommend Arrow Lift to a friend. I liked the stairlift. It's good quality. My husband uses it. He loves it. The only thing is, they didn't keep their word when they said they were going to send me the information in the mail. Finally, I got something in the mail, and it said that the labor and all that stuff they had said it was was not guaranteed for life because the fact that you have to send in some information within 30 days of the time that you purchased it. So, I got very upset. They said it was only guaranteed for five years. I called the office. I called the guy who sold me the Arrow Lift and I said, "You guys aren't fair, because everything was good. I paid you guys. Everything was good. And you guys are bad 'cause you didn't keep your word by sending me the information. Now I only got five years of warranty on it.”

Eventually, I landed up speaking with the guy who sold me the chair, and he told me he was going to send me another warranty for life like they had said. Then they send me invoice showing the price I paid. Overall, everything was good. I love the chair. It's just I was upset that I never received the warranty until three months later.

I was having trouble walking and going up and down the stairs was. It was getting to be a little dangerous, and I was afraid of falling. So, that was when I got the chairlift from Arrow Lift. I got the indoor straight chairlift. The installation went fine. I just needed to get some more electrical line to go down so that they could plug it in to the home line. That's the only thing that I had extra done, except for them putting the chairlift in. The chairlift is really good. I'm hearing the beeps when things work, and I can tell when I need to stop the chair. It's all working very well. I did have them come out one time because they needed to put a new battery in the chairlift. It was kind of stuck and they came out right away and took care of it. I haven't had any problems since. The chairlift is easy to use and it's comfortable to ride in. I feel very safe going up and down the stairs. I'm very happy with Arrow Lift. The $9,000 was worth it.

I bought the stairlift at the end of the year and I didn't want it until May. So they installed it about the 1st of May. But I was not in any hurry for it. I'm 80 years old and I still work and walk and move and do everything. I still go up and down the stairs. But I wanted the stairlift for a situation when my mobility became a problem. I did all the measurements ahead of time and I knew it was going to work fine straight up and down. I have a fairly steep stairs with shorter steps in there. So that was my reason for wanting that down the road. So it was not terribly difficult for me to go up and down. But with the shorter steps and at a steeper angle, it made it where I thought the investment was definitely worth that rather than having a fall or something and healing up from it.

Lemons happen and I think we got one. Last time it was a loose wire. Another time it was switches incorrectly set at the factory. Our church was looking at buying one. We told them to pass on this. Our builder who brought them in won't put them in anyone else's house. I'm going to be stuck with, and at some point, in, a $65000 piece of junk eating up my living room.

I have problems getting up the stairs because I have a bad back and bad knees. My sister had told me about Arrow Lift, so I called them. Their team was professional and I ended up purchasing a straight stairlift which has a retractable track on it. I really like it and it's really helpful for me. The only downside of it is once I bring it down to the bottom of the stairs, I have to send it back up. Because otherwise, it keeps beeping because it's not charging. Other than that, it allowed me to stay in my home, and go up and down the stairs. The stairlift is non-obtrusive and I have shown it to friends who have been really impressed by it.

I fell down the stairs and broke my leg, and I was unable to go up and down. Dealing with the sales reps was delightful. I like that they were able to come in and install it in just a couple of days after I called them and that was a good selling point. The salesman was very good and I enjoyed talking to him. We love the installers. They came with a certain amount of humor, but they were very efficient and got the job done in a good time. Arrow Lift has excellent customer service and installation process. I got a straight stairlift and it was a little bit tight because it’s a 50-year-old house. But it’s not a problem and the quality is great. People should take a look at it. I would let them use mine and make up their own minds, but inform them of everything I thought about when I was buying, and that Arrow Lift was the best choice for me.

I called three different companies to get estimates, then I had them come in. Arrow Lift's estimate was higher than what they quoted on the phone, but the other companies were worse. The company that had the lowest estimate, I had them come in first, and then the estimate came out to be $2,000 more. I had the second company come in and their estimate was $1,000 more. Arrow Lift, which was the third company, gave an estimate that was closer and ended up being cheaper than the other two that were originally lower.

I was having the lift put in because I had to have hip surgery. The installers were here on time. I had to ask them to come in later because the doctors found some sort of heart issue and I had an emergency appointment I had to go to. Arrow Lift was able to accommodate changing, then I had another appointment after them and they were able to squeeze me in.

The next day, I had one problem. The lift didn't work, and I was scared and panicked because then the day after that, I was going into the hospital. I had somebody on the phone helping me try to get it to work and they were listening to the weird noises the lift was making. Arrow Lift rushed in and when the guy came in, the lift worked normal.

I chose Arrow Lift because I had the option of them taking it out. Other companies will take it out, but it'll be a big charge. Arrow Lift said they would take it out. I don't think that there is a charge, or if there is, it's minimal. My husband was supposed to use it when he came out of the hospital, but he had other issues. But in terms of me trying it, it works fine. It's beautiful. It does the job. I'm also average height, and there's enough space. And with it sitting, where if it sits, there's enough space to go up and down the stairs without problems.

The only thing I do notice different is the foot rest does not turn with the upper part. It stays aimed out straight ahead, which is not a big deal, but it would have been better if it swung with the top part. Other than that, the lift makes it easier going up and down the long stairs.

The salesman was good and explained everything to us. The price seemed to be comparable to other places, plus they were local. The presentation was very good and the reps answered all our questions. We went to the showroom and tried out the various models they had, and decided to go ahead with the installation of the stairlift. It's straight up and down, and since we have a narrow stairwell, we’re still trying our best to figure out how to get around it when we need to. My husband is in love with the stairlift. I wish it had been cheaper, but none of them are cheaper, because they're elevators.

I contacted four companies that do the same thing. Arrow Lift was the only one who could get back to me within two days and install the lift within two days, so they're quick in response. Arrow Lift's rep came in, did some measurement and asked me if I only wanted one to go upstairs. I said, “Yes, this is the only part that I need.” He went outside and did some of his own thing. He came back in and told me the price. It is not cheap. It's almost 4,200. After he told me the price, he started talking about his girlfriend from China. We had a small chitchat for 10 minutes, and he left.

The installer came in a few minutes late, and started doing his work. We didn't talk. After he finished, I paid him the second half of the payment. The first person edmention that whenever my husband passed away, he could uninstall it for me. I have no time for it, because I don't want to spend $4,200 for using it once, and he will take it away for free. If you have a need to get help going upstairs or downstairs, this is an option.

A man came out to the house and gave us the facts and the timeline, as well as what was available. He was not pushy at all, and we liked him. He told us to give him a call if we’re interested. He was here for an hour, and by the end of that time, we were ready to sign on the dotted line. The cost was a little high, a bit more than we expected, but so far, everything has been really good, including the quality of the stairlift. We ended up getting the push button for the footrest so that we didn't have to bend over and put it up or down, and we're thankful that we got it.

The team that came to install the straight stairlift was really good. There was an experienced person that came along and someone that was being trained in on it. While it wasn't the trainee's first experience installing one, it took a lot longer than I thought it would. Besides that, they were very pleasant and explained everything as they went along. Because we wanted to keep the railing in place, our stairlift sits out into the stairway farther than we anticipated. But it's still fine as far as other people getting up and down the stairs.
