I looked up chairlifts and Arrow Lift was the one they came up with and the sales store was also close to the area. The product is working fine. I really like that it's fairly quiet.

What is Arrow Lift?

Arrow Lift specializes in custom stair lifts and elevators for homes and businesses. The company offers a free consultation to ensure its products work well in your space. With its 35 years of experience, the Arrow Lift team can configure chairs to many unusual stair situations, such as narrow and curved staircases.

The weight capacity is typically 300 pounds, though some models are available with 350- or 400-pound limits. Each chair runs on self-charging batteries to ensure accessibility during a power outage.

Arrow Lift offers different features to meet each user's unique needs. These include:

  • Powered footrest folds
  • Slim-line controls
  • Joystick controls
  • Power swivel
  • Safety features such as sensor switches and barrier arm safeties
  • Seat belt, leg restraints or multi-point harnesses
  • Automatic retractable rail
  • Multiple color options for chair and rail

This customization helps keep users of all mobility levels safe.

How does Arrow Lift work?

You can visit your local stair lift showroom to see how different models of Arrow Lift stair lifts work. Arrow Lift offers free in-home consultations. You can also opt for an appointment over the phone to review basic details and answer your questions. While an in-home visit may still be required to allow the team to take measurements, this virtual-style consultation can help Arrow Lift better understand your mobility needs.

You can call Arrow Lift to set up a free, no-obligation consultation. During this time, a stair lift specialist will share information about products and options, answer your questions and provide you with brochures. This person can also help you determine if installation permits or licenses are required.

Once the specialist has the necessary information, you’ll receive a custom quote. If you move forward, a team of licensed technicians does the installation.

Arrow Lift also offers maintenance and repair services for stair lifts. You can purchase a service plan to ensure you aren’t surprised by any expensive out-of-pocket repairs down the road.

If you reach the point where you no longer need your lift, Arrow Lift can remove it for you. If you purchased a new Arrow Lift stair lift, the company removes your old one for free. The company may even buy back the chair for a portion of its original price.

Arrow Lift costs

Arrow Lift straight stair lifts typically run between -lift-$2,500 and $6,000 for a basic model. If you need a custom, curved-rail stair lift, you can expect to pay at least $10,000. The rail length is a key component in the price from there.

Arrow Lift’s costs include installation, warranty and permits and inspection fees. This way, you won’t have any unexpected expenses during the installation process.

To help you save even more, the company offers reconditioned stair lifts that are lightly used. Financing options are also available.

I was having trouble walking and going up and down the stairs was. It was getting to be a little dangerous, and I was afraid of falling. So, that was when I got the chairlift from Arrow Lift. I got the indoor straight chairlift. The installation went fine. I just needed to get some more electrical line to go down so that they could plug it in to the home line. That's the only thing that I had extra done, except for them putting the chairlift in. The chairlift is really good. I'm hearing the beeps when things work, and I can tell when I need to stop the chair. It's all working very well. I did have them come out one time because they needed to put a new battery in the chairlift. It was kind of stuck and they came out right away and took care of it. I haven't had any problems since. The chairlift is easy to use and it's comfortable to ride in. I feel very safe going up and down the stairs. I'm very happy with Arrow Lift. The $9,000 was worth it.

I fell down the stairs and broke my leg, and I was unable to go up and down. Dealing with the sales reps was delightful. I like that they were able to come in and install it in just a couple of days after I called them and that was a good selling point. The salesman was very good and I enjoyed talking to him. We love the installers. They came with a certain amount of humor, but they were very efficient and got the job done in a good time. Arrow Lift has excellent customer service and installation process. I got a straight stairlift and it was a little bit tight because it’s a 50-year-old house. But it’s not a problem and the quality is great. People should take a look at it. I would let them use mine and make up their own minds, but inform them of everything I thought about when I was buying, and that Arrow Lift was the best choice for me.

I called three different companies to get estimates, then I had them come in. Arrow Lift's estimate was higher than what they quoted on the phone, but the other companies were worse. The company that had the lowest estimate, I had them come in first, and then the estimate came out to be $2,000 more. I had the second company come in and their estimate was $1,000 more. Arrow Lift, which was the third company, gave an estimate that was closer and ended up being cheaper than the other two that were originally lower.

I was having the lift put in because I had to have hip surgery. The installers were here on time. I had to ask them to come in later because the doctors found some sort of heart issue and I had an emergency appointment I had to go to. Arrow Lift was able to accommodate changing, then I had another appointment after them and they were able to squeeze me in.

The next day, I had one problem. The lift didn't work, and I was scared and panicked because then the day after that, I was going into the hospital. I had somebody on the phone helping me try to get it to work and they were listening to the weird noises the lift was making. Arrow Lift rushed in and when the guy came in, the lift worked normal.

My husband was becoming immobile and we're older. We are in our 80s. I decided to go with a stairlift. He was also in the hospital and coming out soon. I chose Arrow Lift because I had the option of them taking it out. Other companies will take it out, but it'll be a big charge. Arrow Lift said they would take it out. I don't think that there is a charge, or if there is, it's minimal. My husband was supposed to use it when he came out of the hospital, but he had other issues. But in terms of me trying it, it works fine. It's beautiful. It does the job. I'm also average height, and there's enough space. And with it sitting, where if it sits, there's enough space to go up and down the stairs without problems.

It wasn't safe for my husband to be going up and down the stairs, and Arrow Lift was the first place we called when we were looking for a stairlift. The salesman was good and explained everything to us. The price seemed to be comparable to other places, plus they were local. The presentation was very good and the reps answered all our questions. We went to the showroom and tried out the various models they had, and decided to go ahead with the installation of the stairlift. It's straight up and down, and since we have a narrow stairwell, we’re still trying our best to figure out how to get around it when we need to. My husband is in love with the stairlift. I wish it had been cheaper, but none of them are cheaper, because they're elevators.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, Erin. We’re glad you reached out and had the chance to visit the showroom to try the different models firsthand. Being able to see how the lifts work in person can really help when deciding what’s best for your home. It’s also great to hear that the sales visit was informative and that your questions were answered along the way.

Most importantly, we’re happy to know the stairlift has made it safer and easier for your husband to move between floors—and that he’s enjoying it so much. We understand that space can feel tight in narrower stairways, but we’re glad the lift is helping make daily life more manageable. Aside from the whole sales and installation nightmare, while the technicians are very courteous, this lift has been repaired more times than I can count. It was installed 8 months ago, so it's still under warranty, but it is very seldom used and we end up calling for repairs almost every time we try to use it. Now that I need it, it's down AGAIN. Lemons happen and I think we got one. Last time it was a loose wire. Another time it was switches incorrectly set at the factory. Our church was looking at buying one. We told them to pass on this. Our builder who brought them in won't put them in anyone else's house. I'm going to be stuck with, and at some point, in, a $65000 piece of junk eating up my living room.

I have problems getting up the stairs because I have a bad back and bad knees. My sister had told me about Arrow Lift, so I called them. Their team was professional and I ended up purchasing a straight stairlift which has a retractable track on it. I really like it and it's really helpful for me. The only downside of it is once I bring it down to the bottom of the stairs, I have to send it back up. Because otherwise, it keeps beeping because it's not charging. Other than that, it allowed me to stay in my home, and go up and down the stairs. The stairlift is non-obtrusive and I have shown it to friends who have been really impressed by it.
