    A representative from Vivint came out and met with us, and she recommended the things that she felt was best and showed us different options that worked for us. She was awesome and really good at what she was doing even though she was brand new to the company. Any questions that she didn't know, she would get an answer right back to us. She was very supportive. We've referred her to a lot of our friends because of that. We purchased a service package and we currently have outside cameras, a thermostat, the doorbell camera, the glass break and the smoke detectors. The installation team came out and they were positive and picked up after themselves. They were very respectful of my space and our home.

    Aside from these, one of the things that we really appreciate about Vivint is the people who are at the end of the console who answer the alarms when they go off in the middle of the night and check on us to make sure that we only have a false alarm and that we're safe. We're apologizing for a false alarm at 2 in the morning and they would say "This is exactly what we're here for, to make sure you're safe. Don't worry about it. Have a wonderful evening." They're amazing and we're very happy with our experience with Vivint.

The sales representative was very high pressure and I didn't like that and it was very quick.     In the service package I purchased from Vivint, I have everything: indoor camera, doorbell camera, smoke detector, carbon detector, garage door opener, and all the window units. My neighborhood has always been safe and I've never had a problem, but since I travel so much now due to business, I got Vivint's home security service. It's always great to be able to keep an eye on things at home. I love the way I'm able to answer the door, especially around this time during Christmas when I have a lot of packages being delivered. I can see when the deliveries are made. It's awesome and I am 110% satisfied with it.

    The same Vivint salesperson came out twice: he did the initial installation, and then he came back and added some additional things. He's extremely knowledgeable, very customer-oriented, and friendly. He makes sure that he informs you of everything so he's not only trying to sell a product but actually speaking with you about what your needs are. He makes suggestions based upon what you have to say. He's great. Their installation team was awesome too. They came in and did a great job. They put everything in, cleaned up after themselves, and made sure everything was in working order. They didn't rush through the job, and even though it was getting late, they took as much time as they needed in order to get the job done.

    We purchased a service package from Vivint which includes our doors, windows and doorbell camera. The sales rep did a good job. However we continued to have problems and we’ve called a few times. First of all, we didn’t get our camera for 10 months. Then we called our installers, our sales guy, and he kept saying they were on back order. Also, when we’d call him, he wasn’t available so we’d call customer service. He said, “Call me first. I’m the one that handles it.”

    We’ve had three incidences, the alarm going off, the back door opened and then we’ve had one where we had it armed and locked, and when we got home it was unarmed and unlocked with no interaction from us. One night, our friend came over and knocked on the door. We weren’t home yet then the door opened and it was unarmed. Also, my husband couldn’t get his phone to work to have it arm. It worked for a while then it stopped. They told us to take the app off, reload it and it’d work again. Now I’m having trouble with mine as when I leave the house and arm it, it would do but won’t lock the deadbolt. I had to take three minutes to wait then push it over to the lock and it would fasten but it should be automatically as that’s where we have it set up. When it’s armed, it’s locked.

    One gal we talked to said we could sell it to somebody else and I said, “I’m not going to recommend this to anybody else, let alone sell it to them.” Another guy was also having a bad experience with it, the one we talked into getting it the same time we did. Also our doorbell, where the doorbell camera is, is not the same size as their other one and it’s a big, ugly hole that didn’t cover up the old one. We’ve asked for a plate to go over that. If they could come and put something to cover that hole up to make it look better but that hasn’t happened yet either. Our contract’s 42 months and we’ve had many issues with the system. We’ve asked to be let go of the contract as it’s not working out for us for what we’re paying. It’s been very frustrating so we’re really not happy with it but I understand we can’t do anything about it.

    I have had Vivint for over a years now... Installed in my house are 2 cameras, 2 motion sensors, 3 window sensors as part of my security system. I have had to have my box replaced 2 times. And door sensors have went out. My cameras never stay online more than 2 weeks nor does it record like it is supposed to. I have had my house robbed during construction so alarm wasn't set during this time. I hid over 2 thousand dollars in view of my cameras that came up missing, I check my cameras and nothing. They were offline and did not record a thing. Police report and a call to Vivint got me nowhere.

    I have tried to have them cancel my service but have had no luck. We are under contract they say. I think the contract should go either way. Not only holding me liable but also Vivint. In words of customer service of Vivint "sorry for the bad luck". There is nothing I can do, and there is nothing they will do. So now I am out $2000 and a monthly service fee that most of the time not all works. I am not just some guy trying to slander Vivint, I am a customer that feels the need to let everyone know the kind of company this is.

They’ve helped me a lot. I walked out the door one time and the house was secured. I was outside and heard the alarm going off. Went back and the little lady was on and she asked me who I was. That's nice to know because if I didn't do the security code then she would know that I was not supposed to be in my house. I love Vivint.

    I was with Vivint for 3 years and 3 months before we needed to move. I decided to cancel the account as I didn't have a new home to transfer service to. I contacted Vivint in August to notify and they informed me my contract was through November and I would have to pay it out. I asked for a payoff and notified them to stop all monitoring as it would be illegal since the new owners of the home had not given them authority to monitor the home. I then paid the amount they gave me. A few months later I was again contacted and told I owed an additional $120 for past due amounts. We talked about the previous payoff amount and was told that wasn't binding and I hadn't given written notice of cancellation. I sent in my written cancellation.

    One month later I was contacted and told I now owed $190. Since my written notice wasn't received until November, they charge another 30 days. These are all charges that are for nothing, as the home was disconnected in August. Customer service was polite but unwilling to remove the additional $60 fee because they can legally charge it. Rather than earn an advocate for them they have earned a disgruntled customer. Don't sign the contract. They will continue to squeeze you for everything they can. They will give incomplete information regarding cancellation and then charge you more. Overall their product is no better than what you can receive for half the price. Don't do it. Don't believe their story of excellent customer service.

    Cancelled service and was advised I had a 60 month contract and not a 24 month contract as advised. When asked for a copy of the contract, all they could provide me was the page indicating the 60 months, not my signature. Also, none of the equipment is free. You are paying for it along with your contract and they advertise $1500 of free equipment. Not exactly true and honest in my opinion. Please read everything you are signing because I do believe they substitute the page where it says 60 months instead of 24 months. Initial all pages to ensure they do not swap pages of the contract. Very sneaky if you ask me.

I got the service package with the automatic door and the doorbell (which came later because they forgot to tell me about it). It also includes the glass breaker thing but I don't know what batteries to put in or how to change it.

    I snowbird so I wanted my home to be secure to the best of my ability, so I got an inside and outside camera, a doorbell camera, some smoke detectors and also some glass breaks. Then I got some door and window alarms. I'm real pleased with it, but I had problems with the window and door locks falling off. This triggers the alarm and would make the police come over. This happened three or four times, so the police say that if this would keep happening, they might have to bill me. I called Vivint support, but he said there's not much they can do about it. He told me to put silicone, which I don't think is part of my responsibility but I still did anyway. Vivint should come out and fix it. Overall, I really like it.

    In August I had cancelled my service with Vivint because I found a less expensive option. I have been unemployed for about 6 months now and money has been tight. In looking over things I discovered that I had been billed since August. In reading the fine print, it is completely my fault that it wasn't cancelled. I never sent a written notice to them. In calling customer service today to cancel, I inquired if I could be credited the months that I did not use them. While I know they are under no obligation to do so, I would think that after looking at the circumstances, they would decide that that was the fair thing to do.

    Back in August, I received over ten emails stating that my system had been disconnected and Vivint wasn't receiving a signal. That tells me that they chose to continue billing a customer that they knew was not using their services. As I said earlier, I am aware that they don't have to refund... I would like to think that any reputable company would see that as the right thing to do if they truly believe in customer service. Prior to today, I always viewed Vivint in a positive light. I only switched because of cost. They did a great job and I loved the security we had in our home.

    Someday when I get back on my feet financially, I figured I would use them again. Not anymore. They have shown that they have no regard for common sense or fair billing practices. Any institution that knowingly continues to bill someone when they know they aren't receiving a signal and there is not service at a location is at best poorly managed and looking to take advantage of customers and at worst, a disreputable organization that should not be trusted because they of immoral practices.

    In the past, I was one of their biggest advertisers, I even got a friend to sign up. Not anymore. I will actively go out of my way to dissuade anyone from using their service. Prior to today, I would have rated them 5 stars. Today I feel kind in giving them two stars. Stay away from this company. They do not care about individuals once they have your money.

    The service package I purchased from Vivint included home automation like cameras, door locks, doorbell camera, and also for security, I have motion sensor and glass breaks. I needed these features for protection and safety. It's to be more connected to my house and my kids and knowing what’s going on in the house when I’m away. The sales and installation teams were great. They were very professional, quick and easy to work with, and took care of everything I asked them to. The services so far is phenomenal.     The installation guy from Vivint came when he was supposed to. I showed him where I wanted things and he took care of the rest of it. I'm very satisfied with everything. When I call, I got a customer support line no matter what time it is. I've done it in one evening. They answered right away, and they got me all straightened out. This happened several times and I'm happy with their customer service as well as their installation. I've already recommended them to friends but, unfortunately, they don't have the system in their neighborhood yet. And I'm still waiting on the wireless internet. Vivint haven't brought in it yet.

    Sales rep came around and seen we had a different alarm company so he told me I could get more options if I went with Vivint. So we found out the doorbell wasn't working and he said "No people. We have a tech that can fix that." So I signed up and when the tech came around to install everything he couldn't install the smoke detector that was promised because he didn't have the license to do so. And then he couldn't install the doorbell camera because no power to doorbell which required an electrician that required us to get. So after all of this was done it took them a month to schedule someone to come back out. The tech installed the doorbell camera. It worked for a couple hours and then quit working the very next day.

    Our alarm panel would not disarm so I call Vivint to get someone out and it's not a priority for you to not have an alarm so it's going to be a month before they can get someone to come out and see why the alarm panel won't work. Really. And you call customer service and they tell you it's not a priority that you don't have an alarm!

    Their system hasn’t worked right since they put it in April, I’ve waited for them to come out and repair it over three months. They sent somebody and told me, “Oh wow, that’s broken. We got to send somebody out and it’s past your warranty so now it’s going to cost you.” They’ve taken notes, fixed it over the phone and then they'd tell me they can’t do it.

    I also found out that they disabled part of my system back in April and I didn’t even know it was like that. After speaking to the manager at Vivint, I then had a service guy. He called to find out why I had so many alarms going off. I said, “That’s because of your system that’s not working.” And, apparently, they disabled it. He apologized and told me they would send a service rep out to fix it. This is from April now until December. I had to disable it while I went away on holidays because the alarm kept going off.

    And then, he booked an appointment for me and told me he would guarantee my service would be better after hanging up the phone. He sent somebody else and the guy didn’t show up for the appointment so I had to call the head office and reschedule another appointment for the 28th of December. Vivint's absolutely horrible and I'm very dissatisfied.

    I've been with Vivint for over 10 years now and so far, so good. They're very professional, kind, generous and upfront and have a pretty quick response time when there is an incident. With my first package at a different home, I decided to have the basic alarm system with the window breaks and some of the windows were also alarmed. I had an upgrade last month where the door lock camera was upgraded to the new panel. But when I have wanted to get a couple of outdoor cameras, they don't have any more which concerns me and that they're doing their own and it's going to cost me almost $350 to $400 for the cameras. If I have known ahead of time, I probably would have thought differently. But that's the only negative that I have to say about them. I didn't bring that to customer service yet because I'm trying to see if there's another way for me to work it. Otherwise, I'm very happy with them and I love their service.

Every time, their service has been pretty good except for the doorbell camera which we can't get anybody to fix. The installer was doing a fine job and he worked for a few days, but then he quit. So right now, we just want it installed.

    I'm not too satisfied with Vivint's services so far. I have a doorbell camera and thermostat and the camera has so many glitches. Last time I called up, I had to get the manager because my pendant keeps running out of batteries when it’s supposed to last for five years; this was about the third, going on fourth time. I called up and I had paid the extra $10 a month for them to come out to put batteries in, replace things, or whatever I need. But when I called up, the lady says, “Oh no. You called up and canceled that, and the $10 extra a month you’re paying for is your doorbell.” I said, “No. Doorbell is one-time only fee, which I paid. Look, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Let me talk to a manager.” I talked to the manager and sure enough, she told me they were wrong. A lot of people down there are very rude and I’m not crazy about them, and they’re not really educated. I've only had one real nice person a long time ago.

    The lady who sold me my house had Vivint and she liked it, and several of my neighbors were on it too. I purchased the Sky cam because my front door is like a hallway, it's not that deep but it's dark in there. When I'm away, I want to know who's coming in my door. The inside camera can't snap pictures, but my doorbell does. Everybody from Vivint has been nice and friendly. They came in, did the job, and left. However, it took them a long time to get everything in. They didn't put it all in at one time.

    When calling into your call center, getting quotes, deciding on what features I would want and need in my home, I was extremely disappointed and frustrated with that area of Vivint. I was VERY skeptical of if Vivint would work for me. Reluctantly, I signed up thinking that in 10 days I would be calling to cancel my agreement. However, when "John" showed up at my door, walked through my home with me, explained what would work best for me, my family and my house, I was excited about what was to come. After John, replaced my old system with Vivint and was giving me the run through, I was happy with what Vivint was able to provide.

    But even that did not compare to the customer service that my wife, my children, and I received from John. So long story short - me being a happy Vivint customer is 90% based on the tech named John that sold me on your company. So yes, I would recommend Vivint based on my customer service experience. In fact, he deserves a raise before another company tries to steal him away!!! Cheers Vivint PS - I hope if I take the time to write this, that someone actually reads these. ;-) I would hire John in a second. In fact, I actually do own a company and if John was trained in my field of work - I would offer him double to jump ship and join my team. You're lucky to have him.     Our initial package with Vivint had the motion sensors, doors, camera and a doorbell camera. We had ordered an outdoor camera but it has not been delivered yet. The sales representative did a good job. They moved the outdated system when we got an updated new system. They did a good job of fixing the holes where the previous ones were and it looked nice. They kept us involved the whole time. The installation team put something to fix my door and they were clean, quick, and explained how everything works. They did a good job as well. Moreover, I like the thermostat, lock and being able control everything from the phone. I can look at the cameras like when the babysitter comes over watching the kids. I also have people come over to the house like our house cleaner. I unlock the door from work so nobody can be there and she doesn't have to have a key to my house. It is awesome and I love that part of it.

    Vivint is a great program. I like it because I have an emergency lifeline. If I have any issues or somebody gets into my house, cops or Vivint would call me right away to let me know somebody was at the door. I also got a video doorbell which I really like especially when I’m away from home or I leave town. When somebody is at the doorbell, it comes to my phone, I can answer it and if it’s the mailman who has a package I can tell him to put it in the garage. They’re really good doing that. The only thing I have a little trouble with is the lamps but other than that I like everything and I would recommend Vivint.

    When I first got it, all I had was the doors, the windows, the thermostat, control the lights, open the door, the front and backdoor. I think that was all I had until a few months ago when someone else was in the area and I saw that they posted that they had got one with the camera in the doorbell, and I called up to see about getting that and got that installed recently. I had originally wanted a camera at the beginning but the only camera that they had was an inside camera. They didn't have any outdoor cameras until that doorbell camera came out. The sales representatives and the installation team were very good, polite, efficient, and cleaned up. So far I've been very happy with it.

    I fell in love with Vivint so I signed up that same day. Their technology is amazing. However, they're growing so much that they're getting a lot of new people. So it's hard to get everything really quick. They need to do better on training the people with the phone for the customer service.     Vivint sale Rep came knocking on my door. (How I wish I wasn't home!) Promised a discount and extra equipment (which I see is part of the whole package anyway) if I allowed the Tech to come the same evening June 2015. I agreed. A Tech came and finished the installation close to 11pm at night. I was impressed.

    Well night before Thanksgiving I realized my motion sensor wasn't going off when I entered the living room. (I have to trick the panel by using my cell phone to place it in 'away' mode to have the sensor work at night. If you use the panel and don't leave your home it will override you and place it in 'stay' mode as if you don't know what you are doing.). I called that night about my sensor not working. The lady was nice and after 15 minutes the sensor went off working again. Some type of short or the panel wasn't working right. I had the system for less than 6 months. I asked when a Tech could come out and they quoted Dec 10th. 15 days. I said that wasn't reasonable and they said it was reasonable in their opinion. I called many departments demanding to speak to a Manager. After 1 hour on the phone I told the man I wasn't getting off until he got a Manager on the phone. Finally one came on.

    I ended up fussing with him about saying 15 days wait time not knowing what else was wrong with my system. So, I told them to let me out of my contract since they were short staff so I could get another company to monitor me. He and the others refused unless I brought out my contract or I trick someone else to take over my contract. I told them "Why?" since I didn't break the contract, they did. If they would have told me a 'reasonable' time to them was 15 days I would have told the salesman to keep on walking. They did a bait and switch by giving me a false sense of having plenty of Techs when the man came to installed the system the same night. But when it comes to sending someone for failed equipment or emergency they put you off because they are too busy installing another new home.

    They already got my business. They don't care to maintain their own equipment. They told me they have so many techs for one jobs, and other techs for other jobs. After another hour and crying I gave up. Adam called back in 2 hours apologizing stating 15 days wasn't a reasonable time and found a tech to come out 3 days later on a Saturday. The Techs came and were very nice. Come to find out the motion sensor wasn't installed by Vivint but they just used my last alarm company's motion sensor. So Vivint put up a new wireless motion sensor free of cost which took 2 hours to make sure it would work properly.

    Not less than 24 hours later I couldn't go into my own living room without my alarm system going off because the new motion sensor wasn't working either. It was Sunday, so I decided to call Monday after work. Monday I placed the alarm on 'stay' mode due to my dogs. Well the sensor went off around 2pm. Because I couldn't see my cell phone (I work in a hospital) Vivint called the police. Everything was okay, it was the motion sensor. I suggested when I called again that it might be the new panel since the sensor is new. They claim the other equipment was okay. But I told them I had to tell them about the sensor because they believed it was working as well. How do they know?

    They refuse to send a Tech until Dec 12th. 12 days is a reasonable time for them to send a Tech out on a known failed new equipment. 2 hours of begging, fussing and crying but they didn't care! They refused to send a Tech assigned to installing NEW consumers instead of taking care of their paying established consumers. Please don't make the mistake I did. Vivint doesn't care about their consumers. They only care about making a sale and getting more sales. If a Vivint's Rep is knocking on your door tell them "No." There is a 3-day regret policy. By law you can tell Vivint to get their equipment and get your money back. It must be done within 3 days of signing the contract. After that you will be like me.

    I will see if the Judge believes 12 to 15 days is a 'reasonable' time to send a Tech out on a known fail equipment esp if it is less than 6 months old and the motion sensor only 24 hours old. I sent 2 feedbacks online begging them to call and they didn't. The last feedback one had the nerve of asking for my verbal passcode for him to assist me. I wrote back telling him it is called 'verbal' for a reason. It should be in print. I told him my address, name and phone number (which he already had in the feedbacks) to get the verbal passcode. Of course he neither called or email me back. They have smart mouth 20-year-old men working in Management who can care less of their consumer's safety. One hung up on me claiming he couldn't hear me. I told him that trick was older than him and to stop pretending because I knew he was planning to hang up on me. He did. Vivint should be ashamed of themselves. Home security they are not.

    Vivint did a good service but I don't have a good experience. So far, my front door doesn't work anymore. I was supposed to change the code and I called the technician. He was nice, trying to help me via phone, like how I can delay my parent code so I can put another code. I had a guest at home and we shared that code. That's why I wanted a new code, but my door now is locked. Even when I try with the key manually, it doesn't work. So what we're doing now is we go to the back door every time. And if we make a mistake like we lock ourselves outside or inside, we're just going to be outside.

    The technician tried to help me, but nothing is working out. He promised that later on January they're going to send somebody for Yellowknife to look over all the houses. They are only part-time technicians because they're coming from far away. They come here once in awhile. They need to fly in somebody after three months. I don't know how it works for them but so far there is no technician at all and I'm stuck. We need somebody in permanence here.

    We got the alarm system on all the windows and two door locks from Vivint four years ago, and we just renewed our contract with them and bought an updated panel. The installation team is great. My problem is the telephone people. When you call them for technical support, none of them know anything. They're not passionate about their products, they're really bad. But the actual people that come out and install, they're the knowledgeable ones. I wish I had direct access to those guys.

    Another problem is that Vivint's equipment is very dated. They need to work with Apple HomeKit and start getting more advanced. If you look at a Nest Thermostat or an Ecobee Thermostat, which are other automated thermostats, they're much sleeker-looking and modern-looking. Then you look at theirs and they're very basic and ugly. They don't work with any third party companies.

    What got me excited about signing up with Vivint was that I asked how long it will take installing because I didn't have a lot of time and then the guys set up and were in and out within an hour just like all wireless and I liked it. Back then, I had the indoor camera, not a night camera but a basic one that swiveled or moved, the automatic door locks and a garage door sensor, then I added the glass breaking section and a better camera with night vision. I had the same sales representative from my first purchase and my additional ones and I have nothing but good things to say about the guy.

    The only complaint I have is that the keypad entry for my garage door always gives me trouble. When I punch in, it makes a sound and the garage door is always really slow to open. Over the years it's gotten really slower. I back out and set the alarm and it would say my garage door is open and it's not. The mechanism doesn't all the way shut. The guys came out and fixed it a couple times and I was ready to call somebody to see if I can get a service out for it but I didn't want to pay for it, though.

    It's an American Company and I call people in Utah, not India. They're always upbeat and they troubleshoot me in really good except one time, but I think the guy was new. I don't have any really glitches or problems. They've always been on the ball when an alarm goes off. When making dinner, smoking out back the house, not setting the alarm or the wind opening the door, they're always quick to call me. Really happy with the service apart from the garage door.

    I'm trying to figure out this camera as it works sometime and sometimes doesn't. When somebody comes to my door, my phone is supposed to let me know somebody is at the door. They came and put a new camera in. That was the fourth person that had to come out here when they finally replaced it because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. It shouldn't have taken that long for them to figure out what was wrong with it. If it wasn't working then they should've replaced it instead of keep sending people trying to make it work. I'm assuming that this one might work better. But yesterday I was at the store and it didn't ring and my girlfriend called me on my cellphone to tell me she rung the doorbell but it never rung. I said I was going to try it out and see if it works.

    I don't have a problem with the service. It's just that the equipment has not been working. I have been a loyal customer for 10 years, but I have a hard time getting an appointment with Vivint. Whereas, I have friends who could easily get an appointment to get their new system right away. I shouldn't have to wait a whole month to get somebody out here when somebody getting a new system put in gets serviced right away. That's the only problem I have with Vivint. When I first got Vivint, you could call them on the phone and they would answer the phone. Now you call on the phone and they'll leave you on hold for 15 minutes.

    I love Vivint. Corey from installation was excellent. He’s a really nice guy who knows his stuff and is really easy to work with. He listens and takes the time to explain things to you. He installed our system, and a while back, the service was perfect. The only problem I had was when they put in the detector upstairs, because it kept going off at 2 o'clock in the morning, and it makes my husband irate. I finally had to take it off the ceiling and disconnect it. I had a thermostat, but it wasn’t working, so I traded it out, and I also got the doorbell camera which allows me to lock my door at night using my iPad. However, when I go into the camera and want to delete some old motion things on the door, it's bogging down my iPad. There’s no way to delete them as a group, so I have to delete each one separately.

    Since I'm paying what I’m paying every month, Vivint can give me a couple of cameras that I can put outside that's connected to the system because there's been a lot of break-ins around our area lately. I'd like to get one on my driveway and one on my side door as long as it's not going to cost a fortune because it's expensive to put this in. All in all, there are a few tweaks that needs to be done, but I wouldn't be without a security system. And I'm getting it for our house in Calgary too.

    I tried to pay my Vivint account off because the service is terrible and I want to switch and go back to ADT as Vivint services were not everything they promised it to be. When I called on two separate occasions I was given two different payoff amounts but when I was sent to finance office to make the payment I received a third amount quoted. I spent over an hour on the phone trying to get a buyout amount. Then on the third call I talked with another person and he told me that I made a verbal agreement over the phone to extend my services for another 42 months to receive a lower rate. At that point he quoted me a fourth price which was twice as high as the first two and when I asked him to send me a copy of the verbal agreement he advised I would have to have my attorney to contact them to request physical proof of a verbal conversation that was not fully clear about the extension to another 42 months.

    I then tried to call the corporate office and someone again picked up at Customer Care and began to tell me the same thing even I asked to talk with someone in Corporate. Why should I need a court order to get a copy of a verbal agreement that Vivint is using for proof that I made an agreement. I should be able to request physical proof if they are going to expect me to pay additional $1024 on a services that barely works. I would tell anyone check out Vivint before they sign with them and there are much better companies out there without the hidden tactics.

    Initially, I got Vivint's lights, cameras, and doors. Now, I have the doorbell and the garage opener. One part of the process I wasn’t impressed with was the sales. The follow-up of the sales rep wasn’t very good. He promised some things which he didn’t give me. However, the service is good. I had two installations—one in McAllen, and another in Houston. Initially, I had the service done at my home in McAllen, and the installation guy they sent sucked. He ended up blowing a fuse on my air conditioning. On the other hand, in Houston, the installation representative was phenomenal. I really like the product and the service, now that I have it.

    I have been very satisfied with Vivint because they have always been very helpful to me. I got the sky panel, wall type front door locks, garage door opener, doorbell camera and three cameras, a glass break and a couple of motion sensors. I want to use sprinkler systems too but I got an email saying that I was qualified for beta email for a sprinkler system. If I give them some feedback they would give it to me for free but I didn't answer the questions correctly and I didn't qualify. I don't even understand. I don't run my sprinkler system (my neighbor does for me) but I'd like to have it.

    The sales representative was a young guy walking up and down the street asking about security and I said, "I got ADT but it's about to go out" and he said, "Let me give you this and that." He came in for a while, set me up and he wanted a whole lot of money as down payment. But then he came back and said, "Okay, we're not going to make you pay for that." That's when I signed up that day, a couple years ago.

    I had plenty of issues with the installation team. The first time they put my system in they said it had to be put over a socket, but it's not in the wall in the kitchen and my socket is not near the kitchen door that goes into the garage. The technician said he can't drill through the walls (because of a building issue or because he didn't know how?) but I thought it was logical to put a security box in the middle of a wall near the door they go out of. They put it in the middle of the wall of my kitchen but I wanted it by the door that I go out of. I called, told them it's not going to work, and they sent another guy back and moved and wired the system up where I wanted it. He was more knowledgeable. I had to repair the wall because of that. Despite that I've already recommended them to several people.

    I had my security system installed July 2014 after my home was broken into while my son was home alone. One of the main components I wanted was an outside camera, but the salesman said they wouldn't sell them because he said cameras outside the home were too easy to tamper with. He recommended Vivint's standard camera and pointing it through the window toward the front walkway. I'd been doing research on other camera systems and I asked him if the system could alert me via email when it detects motion like some other systems can, he said yes (which is technically correct but it's useless to me as I'll explain later). These services were what sold me on the service and were why I agreed to pay $64 a month. The system was installed and the installers spent at least an hour working on just the camera but couldn't get it working right.

    Since then many people have tried, but also couldn't get it working as well as it should either, they said part of the problem was those cameras aren't meant to record through glass. But there are also other recording issues and viewing issues unrelated to the glass. Fast forward a year and a half, I've been on the phone with Vivint countless times trying to get the cameras to work. I've had Vivint come to my house multiple times. I'm tired of trying to get the cameras to work. They don't. Recently my front door keypad failed and needed to be replaced so I had to pay for Vivint to come to my house. I decided to also have the Vivint guy try again to get the cameras to work while he was there, because they weren't recording anything (again) and it had been quite a while since I'd wasted several hours trying to get them to record. He got them to work again, including live feed but only briefly. Right now I have no live feed again.

    I think I've only seen the live feed working maybe a handful of times in the year and a half I've had the system. In fact I had forgotten I was supposed to have live feed until the Vivint guy asked me about it this last visit, but to be fair most of the time I've had the cameras they've been offline so live feed wasn't an option. When the guy was at my house he also upgraded my panel software, which is supposed to happen automatically but he said it hadn't ever for some reason so the software was really old. He thought the upgrade would fix the camera and live feed issues. Now the system does record video clips again and they've been recording for a month straight for the first time ever. Unfortunately they seem to record randomly and not always because of motion. It doesn't really matter though, because all the clips it records can only be viewed on my control panel.

    My phone, work and home computers, friends' computers, all give me an error when I try to view the clips. So the email notification function is useless because I'd have to be home looking at the panel to see what I was notified about, in which case I could just look out the window myself. If I could cancel and get a real working system I would, because if someone came to my front door it would not record it, and that was what sold me on this system to begin with. I don't think it's ever recorded anyone coming to the front door. I could never recommend this security company to anyone and I can't wait to be done with my contract.

    On July 15, 2015 Ed ** - Sales Representative ID #** from Florida came to NJ to make door to door sales calls. He promised us an outdoor security camera along with the rest of the service but, he said it was on back order and we would need to wait until they came in. After several months of waiting and paying for the service we followed up with Vivint and spoke to Bob - Customer Service Representative ID #**. I explained to him the situation. He called Ed ** but could not reach him. Bob never bothered to follow up with me on the matter. I called again on November 1, 2015. I explained the matter to another customer service rep. She said "it would be taken care of" and scheduled an installation for Dec. 7, 2015 between 2 to 5 pm.

    I was sent an e-mail confirming the appointment on Dec. 6. On Dec. 7, at 4 pm I decided to call Vivint to make sure someone was coming. To my surprise, I come to find out that the technician cancelled the appointment. They did not have the courtesy to inform me about the cancellation. At this point I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was connected to Joshua ID #**. He calls Ed ** and asked him about the outdoor camera promise and he tells me ** denied ever making the promise. Moral of the story, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH VIVINT ESPECIALLY ED **. He is a liar! And Vivint does not stand behind their sales representative's promises. At this point I will not be making anymore payments to Vivint. They can take me to court if they wish to do so. Luckily I have it in writing.

    Once upon a time I would say the experiences I've had with Vivint were good. The technicians that come out are also good but it’s the people that you don’t see on the other end of the phone that’s not so understanding and personable to customers. Just this year I’ve had a situation where I’ve called about malfunctions with the motion sensors. A technician came out and at first it was no charge. And then the second time – I forgot how it went but there was no courtesy in terms of the length of time I’ve been a customer, just the whole shebang. There was no consideration in terms of waiving an unnecessary fee, a few little things I was disgruntled with Vivint about. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I can never really speak with one. Then when I did speak with one, they weren’t any better so I said "forget it." When I get out of my contract then I’ll make a change. I'm dissatisfied with their customer service.

    We have the service package with the whole home automation cameras, thermostats, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and door and window sensors. The service is outstanding. We have one technician who is phenomenal and we would request him every time. One time he was on his way here and he told us what he was bringing and it wasn't something that they gave to install. So he ended up calling another technician to get in touch with him in bringing it on his way here. They've been fantastic.

    Once in awhile, however, I have had individual technicians who tell me they are on the way and then I end up losing them. When I call Vivint, they then try to get in touch with the driver only to say, "oh, he is not answering his phone". So, I end up losing the appointment and would have to make a new one. But, then again, Vivint usually makes up for it and does something in their customer service department. I've never really ended up leaving on bad terms and we've very happy with them. Overall, the whole wireless system with the door taps is excellent and I never had a problem connecting to the cameras. Their equipment is as good as their customer service.

    We never had home security before, and with the crime rates going up, I chose to go with Vivint about three years ago. I got the one with the camera inside and the doorbell video. Their service was perfect. The person that was sent, came and thoroughly went over everything before doing an update and proceeding with the installation. Afterwards, he went through everything, bit by bit, so I knew what to do. He had good understanding of the material, but it would be nice if he had a little bit of help instead of doing everything on his own. If that would speed up the process for him, that would make his day go a lot quicker and simpler. But other than that, he was good, and everything was perfect. I know that people in my area now are getting Vivint more than anything else.

    I have never been so upset about an experience with a company as I am with Vivint. We had a Salesperson come and sell us this system and everything was great at first. We had ours for about a year and a half before we had an incident. During this time, we never needed them. In June 2015 lightning struck our house and caused our system to go out. We contacted Vivint and were informed it would be August before they could come out (2 months). We waited on that day in August (I can't remember the exact day right now) and they never showed or called. We waited to hear from them but we also have lives and got busy. We called again around the first part of November and told them we were still paying for a service we do not have. I asked to be released from the contract because they do not have technicians in our area.

    They informed me that they had to try one more time before they could release us from the contract. I told them we could only do certain days of the week such as Monday and Friday. They scheduled us for Monday, December 14 between 2-5. They called today December 5th and said they had to reschedule for Tuesday, December 15. That is not a day we can do it as we work full time. I contacted customer service and nobody could tell me why it was rescheduled but said I could not be released from the contract because they called and told us. I am extremely upset and do not see an end to this anytime soon. If you consider using this company, be sure they have techs in your area!!!

    Know more about how your products work and both customer service and the field person work together and when you tell someone they know all what to do and don't that's an issue as well. Both customer service and field tech should know before going to a person's house. Seems I had to provide proof I paid for the equipment which you should provided this since you already had billed me 2 months ago. Having to wait 2 months for this stuff and people don't seem to know what the left and or the right hand is doing isn't good. I have been told things in the past or been lied to. Seems like not good customer service. Your Vivint employees seem not to know what they are doing most of the time!

    My husband & I travel frequently & in longer stints out of the country. When everything was up & running & Brian left us to our own devices, of course we immediately played with the doorbell camera & smart lock. Everything works perfectly & the app is fantastic. We even accidentally set off the alarm (within minutes of Brian's departure) & it worked exactly like he said it would. The girl on the panel call laughed & said it happens with newbies all the time.     I got a package from Vivint which included the cameras, doorbell, and the alarm service. Everybody from Vivint was good. I remember that the guy who came over to do the installation was very professional. He took care of everything. I also called them back out for one of my smoke alarms, and the same kid came to put up a new one for me. It was good service, so I don’t have any complaints at all. I recommended them to somebody else and they, too, have had it since they got the installation done.

    I have Vivint's home automation package, and so far it's good. The installation was fairly quick and they asked before altering my house which was good, but one thing that was not quite done to my standards would be the garage door sensor. It was put to where you can actually open the garage halfway before it even activates or shows that it's open.

    Also, there's a weird thing with not being able to turn off the automatic fan blower. That's a feature of the thermostat wherein one cannot ever turn off the fan blower, either have it on or automatic. The automatic would deem itself whether it should be on or off, and right now, it's deeming it to be on 24/7. I'm disappointed with the fact that there's no “off” setting if I want because even if the thermostat is off it still runs. I was about to sign up with another company but Vivint took care of me as a previous customer and offered me a great package for a discounted price.

    I'm very satisfied with the service I've had so far from Vivint. As part of the service package that I got from them, I got the monitoring, the CO2 with the smoke detector, the video camera. Then I recently upgraded to the doorbell camera and window break, and I got seven windows in the back door along with an upstairs and a downstairs smoke detector. I had ADT before. In order to get some of the features like the camera, the doorbell camera, and the CO2 smoke detector, you had to have the increased deal, whereas with Vivint everything was included. I had to pay extra for the video camera and for the doorbell video camera I had. But my billing cycle hasn't changed.

    The last tech who came and put in my doorbell camera was very polite and professional, and seemed very comfortable. The sales rep and the installation team were very personable. They make sure that you understand how to use the system and give you thorough instructions on what to do. If there are any issues then they make sure that you know which numbers to call and who to get in contact with.

    Since my system was installed, I've had a couple of incidents where my fire alarm has gone off or I haven't made it to the keypad in time to deactivate the alarm system when I was coming into the house, and they're very prompt, especially coming over the PA system. They do a very good job. I've actually invited a couple of my friends to go ahead and get a Vivint system and I have one person now in Houston who bought a system.

    We had just moved in the neighborhood and we have neighbors with Vivint. We wanted one camera at first and didn't need the outside cameras because we felt that was too much and the price then was a little out of my range. But we got one camera to cover the back door and then everything else was already covered by the front door that makes things better. Features included with the service package we purchased are the control panel, one camera downstairs, and the doorbell camera which was essential because our house didn’t come with a peephole and now I can see if I want to open my door or not.

    The sales representatives for the most part were wonderful. My only complaint with Vivint was the sensors in my front door went out and you couldn’t light the front door because you get an error message. So you had to bypass the front door and when I called and talked to them, it took them about two and a half months to send someone out to fix it. And I was explaining that that was frustrating because I was seeing Vivint technicians in my neighborhood everyday. But they were, "well, we got to put a work order here." And then the lady told me on the phone that she was going to mail me a sensor where I could just go ahead and put it in the door. Then they will have the contractor to actually come out and fix it. Somehow there was some confusion and they never did it and when the technician finally came out he said the guy that initially set us up has screwed up. He did set the system up properly, so he had to fix a bunch of stuff.

    Other than that, we're pretty satisfied. We really can't complain about the overall service, just them few issues. When I was having an issue with the sensor in the door, I was ready to break the contract and go to somebody else because that was ridiculous. I asked them, "here’s my question. You turn on the alarm but you open the front door and nothing happens. So if somebody breaks in my house while I'm waiting, how is that going to be covered?" And then they were, "well, we're going to try to get someone out there." And we had a combination lock in the front door that was so loose it was about to fall off that we were trying to also get fixed. It took forever, but they fix them.

    I'm extremely satisfied with the service that I have received so far from Vivint. I got the glass break, window alarms, and fire – smoke detector from them. Then recently, I got the doorbell camera. We needed these features because of my wife's medical condition and because it also included the emergency response, for first responders.

    The sales rep, Joe, was great. He was very knowledgeable and helped me through the process of getting everything ready to go and set up, and he followed up on everything, especially if there was a piece of equipment that they didn't have that they had to order. He has stayed on top of it to make sure that this was done in a timely manner. The installers were also very professional. They cleaned up after themselves and didn't leave a mess. They made sure that the old ADT system I had was compatible with Vivint. They took care of all of that. Whenever I have question, I can get the answer right away if I call them, and I don't have to wait for them to get back to me.

    Since signing my contract, it has been nothing but lies. I was originally told that I could use my military orders to cancel my service if I moved. When I was ready to move, I was told that I could not cancel my service. The equipment only worked for a couple of months. I called many times, only to either be on the phone for over an hour, while trying to fix the problem or to be told that a technician could come to my house for a large monthly fee. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best, I would rate the service provided to me as a 0. Total disappointment.

    I signed up for Vivint in March 2011. The contract was to run through September 2014. During the term of the contract I had a continuing problem with my dog setting off the glass break. Besides that they seemed fine until I tried to cancel service. I called them and was told that they could not do this over the phone and that I needed to go online, open a online account and look for the directions. The contract says that all you need to do is write a letter. Apparently they don't know that.

    When I couldn't set up an online account with them I called again and again with no success. But in the meantime they continued to deduct the $49.95 from my checking account. I finally contacted my Bank and asked that they not allow them to debit my account. Since that time they continue to call me and tell me that I have yet to cancel my account. Several times they gave me a phone number to call to cancel, but it ends up being the billing department wanting to get me to pay. I've called, sent certified letters and nothing works. These people will try to suck you dry if you don't stand up to them.

    I have been a loyal Vivint customer for almost 5 years. We were offered 15 points at install, but only used 9 in devices for our small office space. The service has worked pretty good, and we have had minor issues here and there until now. In March I called into Vivint to ask about getting a replacement panel as my staff in the office kept setting of the alarm over and over with our current panel which touchscreen stopped working. I was told no problem and had someone come install one of the new bigger screen panels. We talked about updating our contract, but I said I was moving and wanted to make sure that we were NOT renewing our contract.

    I called in today to ask about moving and they told me that I would only get 9 points in devices at my new location, and would have to pay for anything else. I asked why I couldn't start with the 15 points, or even get the doorbell, lock, and garage opening device like new customers. I said I would just like the 15 that I was offered in the beginning, and didn't care about those others, but was told I would only get 9 because that is what I currently have.

    To top it all off, they told me they did renew my contract in March, I would not have been with them a year and they would have to charge me to move as well. This was explicitly discussed in detail back in March on the phone, and the individual said they emailed me a new agreement which I never signed, and I verified over the phone. I would never have done that without getting word that we would be able to move. I am extremely frustrated, and called back in and have been sitting on hold the entire time I am writing this. Going to see what I can do to pay to get out of my contract and go to one of the smaller services that cares more about their customers and uses the same equipment. I don't care if it costs me, I don't ever want to work with a company that does not care about taking care of the customer. I have no problem signing a new contact for my new place, but I would like some of the perks that come along with that as a loyal customer.

    I have been with Vivint for the past 1 1/2 years. The customer support team they have is terrible. I have one camera which has gone out twice in the past 5 months. The customer support team has tried to walk me through resetting the camera and it failed. If they send a tech to repair the camera issue, I am charged $50. If they send me a new camera, I am charged $4.95 shipping cost. I pay timely each month and they can't stand behind the services and products they use. If you are considering Vivint as your home security provider - think twice. Vivint is over-priced and do not support the customer. The customer service reps are terrible and very apathetic in their duties. Buyer Beware!

    Someone from Vivint came about six years ago to sell their system. We liked it so we got it. At the time, it was just smoke and fire, window break, and basic alarm. We needed those features to have a sense of security and it's been great. I've recently spoken with their sales rep because I wanted the doorbell camera but they wouldn't give me a good deal. I was about to drop the service because I didn't want to pay the $99 activation fee. I made a few more calls until a sales rep made it work, I paid for the activation fee but got the camera for a lower price. The installation team was great. The only problem I had is having to wait eight days to get anybody out even if there's a problem but overall, I would recommend Vivint. I got my neighbor to get their service.

    Let me start by saying this company does crooked business. The salesman came into our home advertised we would be a model home. So he came back the next day with my wife and kids were home. I was at work. Next thing I know we have a system installed at a priced never agreed on. They took money out of my account. Be going thru customer service about 20 times now. The salesman signed my name to contract. Fighting with this company now for 6 months to get my money back. So now I'm fed up and will file a lawsuit cause nobody from Vivint will take care of issue. Even their legal department is horrible. Now I will take the next step to get my congressman and whoever to get this company out of Virginia cause they are banned from several states already.

    Updated 1/27/2016 - Was told by Vivint they would refund me my money due to fact their salesman forged my name. Told me they mailed a checked. It would take 7-10 business days. So that time has gone and went by. Still no refund. Do not do business with Vivint.

    I acquired Vivint service package which includes two cameras, the doorbell and the smoke alarm and have the security system on the doors. The interactions with the sales representative was really good. I renewed the system several months ago and I've been having a lot of trouble. As a matter of fact, my cameras are not working and they haven't worked since October.

    I haven't called them back out because every time I call I cannot stand for any length of time and then they tell me to go to the panel and do this, and do that and stand in every 15 minutes. I can't do that or go back into the room and disconnect this. As a matter of fact, I was sitting off yesterday saying, I got to call them and get somebody out here. The irritant for me is if I'm paying for the maintenance and keep saying, "I can't get up and go and stand in front of the box." or "I can't get up and go into the room.". I don't like being on the phone all day trying to explain to somebody that somebody needs to come out and check it.

    I don't know why it keeps jumping out of the system but if they check they'll see that I have called quite a few times on this. So it's better for me to just not have the system than to keep calling and being reminded of my inabilities which is a logical thing. I'm very dissatisfied because I paid for these systems and they are not working. I'm upset about those cameras.

    We signed up for Vivint in 2012 and then we transferred our contract in 2013 or so I thought we transferred it. I suggested the new homeowners go with Vivint because they wanted a home security system so Vivint received a new customer from me. I then "transferred" our service to our new home. The technician who came out said he was transferring our service and promised all this free equipment, etc. I called to cancel the service this year (2015). I was told TWICE my contract ended, sent my cancellation letter in and thought everything was fine.

    I called back to verify I would not be charged again and the new customer representative told me that the previous two representatives had made a mistake and they went by our old contract. We were not informed the date had changed and they made us sign a new contract instead of transferring the existing contract like we requested. The customer service representative told me, "Well, you should have read it instead of going by what the technician said and you can either pay you contract in full or keep making monthly payments." I asked to speak to manager and he said he was the manager. I have a hard time believing he answers phone and manages other issues too. He was very rude and not helpful at all. I also told him our system did not work properly and it would go off when nothing was wrong. He stated that we should have called in when it was not working properly and he could have a technician out to look at it.

    Why would I let another crooked technician back in my house? I have been lied to several times and I cannot wait to terminate my service. Anyone else I have asked about Vivint has had a bad experience, some even calling the company the devil. The salespeople that visit your door are only there to make a sale and will tell you anything to get your signature.

    The salesman that came to my door informed me that the equipment was free with a two-year agreement to keep the service. After the two years was up we eventually canceled because the unit did not go off when my son caught the living room on fire. Payments ceased to be withdrawn from our account. Several months after that, the payments spontaneously started appearing on our bank account again. Each time my husband called they apologized and said they would cease. However, six payments into this, the operator informed us that we had signed a 42-month contract and that is why the payments were still coming out. We now are in a position of having to fight with the company to get them to quit withdrawing money from our account. To add insult to the injury, we sold the home three months ago. I would NEVER have signed knowing the contract was for 42 months. I feel completely taken advantage of.

    I have a 3 years contract with Vivint for my business. Business got sold after almost a year and need to transfer the rest of the contract to other person, because Vivint will charge you the full amount for the other 2 years. Accepted the fact and proceed with looking for a person that will handle the other 2 years, and I found it. They came to take all the devices and told me that they will hold it for 3 months for the deferment. But after 2 weeks when I checked my account, they still withdraw the money from my account. When I called they tell me a different thing that the account is not yet a year old and they couldn't do the deferment, but why nobody ever mentioned it when I called??? Nobody told me until I call. It's really pissed me off. They are very bad with customer service and telling you there is nothing they can do.

    I am telling you guys, NEVER GO FOR VIVINT if you need any security service. There are so many companies out there with a lot better customer service and know what they are doing or saying. Vivint will tell you that the previous worker made A MISTAKE by telling a wrong thing, so you will wondering who is telling the right thing whenever you call next time.

    We’ve got broken into almost three years ago, so I wanted to get a security system with cameras. One of my neighbors had Vivint and it seemed like they had the best home automation. We purchased this house and we currently live in my father’s house. He wants to get Vivint as well right afterwards. I said, “Oh, easy. Just leave the equipment there, transfer to the new house, and Vivint replace my equipment. You’re going to get another customer." But since they don’t do that, I have to take all my old equipment with me to the new house and then the installer installed the new equipment at my father's, I said, “You’re really just trading double work at that point.”

    Why am I going to take out the equipment that’s already in the house and then get old ones installed in the new house and then reinstall the new ones in an old house. The amount of money they want to charge on things is very inconsistent. I wrote to corporate, I wrote to the PEO and the POO and – that helped out a little bit. As a customer, I shouldn’t have to gripe to them to get to that point.

    My new home comes with the security system and even with all the headaches with Vivint, I’d rather deal with Vivint because of their home automation. I like the doorbell camera, I need to get an outdoor camera. They’re charging an arm and a leg for installation. They want $199, I said, “Come on. I can do it myself. Let me buy the camera and I’ll install it myself.” It’s highway robbery. They’ll do anything to get new customers; but if you’re a current customer, they don’t do as much. That has become with any company, not just with Vivint and it’s terrible.

    Currently, I have the doorbell camera and a couple of cameras. I have the thermometer, the keyless entry. In my new home, I’m going to buy my own keyless entry because I don’t like the offer that they have. I like the new Schlage- the touchscreen locking, it’s more sleek and simplistic, I’m going to add to my system and since it’s Z-Wave compatible, I can get it added. I’m going to buy the Nest Thermostat, also Z-Wave compatible. I wished they have cameras that has audio, we have kids, so instead of buying a baby monitor camera, I could just have a camera that’s already integrated with my system where I could hear things as easy. We also used to have a camera that you can move, but it wasn’t HiDef. I like the ability to move but there’s no HiDef. With the new system they don’t allow this camera. What they have is a still camera, which is their biggest downfall.

    One of the reasons I stayed with Vivint is because of the installer. He has gone out of his way, customer service-wise. He’s been excellent and he’s the only installer that ever came to my house. Another reason is the new app that they are using. I used to have the 2Gig system, Alarm.com and I switched over to their Vivint-specific system. Though they still don’t have some things that Alarm.com has, an example is if a door is left open, the air conditioner would shut off or go off. On the Vivint system, it doesn’t do that yet. I’ve given all that feedback to them and they’re moving slow.

    In Feb. of 2015 I decided to have Vivint install a security system in my home. The Tech was at my house the next day installing the door sensors and window sensors (motion sensors and key fobs were supposed to be included in the deal, but then happened to not be with the installer and he did not even have it on his list of what to be installed) and the keypad, which they have to drill holes into your wall to set up. The entire time that the Tech was there he could not get the system to work properly and he replaced almost every sensor he had already installed. The system started working properly so the Tech left. Within an hour after he left the sensors started failing.

    Point of story, the system failed for 2 solid days and I called Vivint and told them to come take the system out as it had not worked properly since installed. That was within the time allowed on the contract. The next day another Tech came and took everything out of my house that they had installed. Did not patch the holes in the wall, or the door and door frame where holes were drilled to place sensors. I had to fix the wall and repaint. I received two notifications from Vivint that the account had been cancelled. However 10 months later I am still receiving statements for this account, and now have been turned over to a collection agency to collect past due bills. I have to send all the information about the cancelled account to the collection agency just to get them to quit calling me.

    I have contacted Vivint on 6 occasions trying to get this settled and each time I am told that the account is closed and I owe no money. They even sent me my down payment back that I had to pay the day of installation. This company is just a big scam to put crappy materials in your home and then harass you almost daily for payment when you are no longer in a contract with them. I am going to have to get a lawyer to contact them regarding this matter as I cannot get these guys off my back. They even reported me to credit bureau and lowered my score from 812 to 790. I had to contact them and dispute the mess, which brought my score back up but the hit is still on my credit report. DO NOT GET INTO BED WITH THESE PEOPLE, YOU WILL REGRET IT.

    My experience with Vivint has always been good including their support services. I've had no problems with Vivint representatives, either sales agents or anybody who come in to install and maintain our equipment. I've always dealt with very comfortable people. Alarms are handled promptly and everyone is apprised in a very timely manner. And everything's groovy. I also feel very safe with the way they handle alarm status, so I know that nothing's going to happen without me knowing almost immediately. And I'm very impressed with my current package especially with the central monitor unit. It's easy to add in z-wave modules and it's very useful for monitoring cameras in a central location.     The service we purchased from Vivint included the Sky package with doorbell camera and the inside camera, glass break and window sensors, and thermostat. We needed these features for the extra security and convenience. So far, our satisfaction with Vivint's services has been fair and not very good. We had the classic mode up until about a month ago. We were having issues with the door lock and thermostat responding to our phones. Sometimes it wouldn't work.

    We called Vivint and told them about these issues, and they're going to charge us to come out and fix something that we already pay for monthly. I wasn't going to do it, so I told their lady rep that I was actually going to go ahead and cancel their service. So they sent Bryce out and he was excellent. He went 110% beyond what he had to do to make things right for me. He set everything up, upgraded me for free and got everything working right.

    Then when they came out and installed the Sky package, they put the doorbell camera on and everything was great except for the doorbell voice that didn't work from day one until I called and told them 10 minutes after the tech had left that the doorbell voice part doesn't work. They can't hear you outside and they said, "Oh, we'll have to schedule you to fix it." I said, "He has left. Can he turn around and come back?" But the rep said, "No, they have to schedule it." I said, "Okay, I understand. You guys have a schedule working. That's fine." But they couldn't get back for a month and that was a little extreme, considering I recently tried to cancel my service and I'm trying to make things right. They got here today, put in another doorbell, and it still doesn't work. The technician left to get another doorbell camera and bring it back to see if it works, so we're on our third camera now.

    The service guys who have come out have been great and very professional. I was extremely unhappy, though, with the lady in customer service whom I talked to on the phone. She did not give two ** about our satisfaction. When I called to let them know about my problem, she felt like she was merely there to do her job.

    I learned about Vivint several years back when they were selling alarms in our neighborhood. I got their cameras, just the normal window sensors and door sensors. I upgraded the control panel with the doorbell. Now they have the doorbell camera and a couple of other features that run on a different system than the original so it’s all upgraded. The first time I called and tried to upgrade, it was a nightmare. They told me it was going to cost me around $600. I told them I’ve been with Vivint for so long and that I just got solar done, and then asked them to just renew my contract and give me all the new stuff. Honestly, if I had the option to cancel right now, I would definitely do that. There are so many new alarm systems out there that are way cheaper. But installation was always 100%. They were always topnotch. I’m pretty satisfied with the services so far.

    One of my neighbors had gotten the system from Vivint and had talked to my husband about it. My husband liked the idea and he wanted me to have cameras in the house because I was handicapped. He was ill with cancer and knew he wasn’t going to be around so he wanted to have more coverage. I was very unhappy when I ordered the cameras – a doorbell camera and three indoor cameras. They made an appointment to come out and install them but it was cancelled. Then the second time they arrived to tell me there wasn't any cameras available. I felt like I had wasted another day of waiting. It took two and a half months before I got any cameras. Also, I was irritated by the fact that they were still going around, selling things that they didn't have and then I've had to wait.

    But for the most part, I have been pleased. When I finally got the cameras, I thought they were going to be installed in a permanent location. They’re just sitting on cabinets and I’m not sure that I like that, but since I had to adjust some of them to get a better view, it's all right. The reps kept asking me where I want the cameras when they should have an idea of where would be the most effective place to put them and not put it on me. Also, I like being able to use my telephone to turn off the alarm. Before, I used a scooter and I have to unload the scooter and everything and then sometimes my hands are full. I like being able to turn the thing off when I’m in the car and it makes it a lot easier for me than struggling with the door with packages and other things.

    Back in 2010 when Vivint was still APX, some guy knocked on my door and he told me about the alarm system. With the original alarm that I got, it was just the doors and windows, the smoke detector, and key fobs. In between then and now, I added a kitchen camera and a motion detector. Now, I have the night and day high-def camera in the kitchen and the front door camera where I can talk to people if they come to the door. Apart from those, nothing else has changed. I kept the key fobs and the motion detector. My house is a lot more secure, and I am a hundred percent satisfied with Vivint.

    Also, I was happy with every one of the people who came to my house. Every time the installation guys come, they always explained and showed me how to do everything. One of the guys even loaded my app so I could open it to see the door if I needed to. They were thorough and awesome. Now, whenever people say they need a security system, I tell them, "Don't look any further. Go talk to these guys." When I have a problem, they either fix it on the phone or they have somebody out who can fix it. They've been good to me every time I talked to them.

    Watch out for the "30 day hold" on your cancellation notice. Now I get to pay another monthly payment even though I don't have service. Also beware of them using sensors that are already in your house because if they break they want 100 bucks to come out and then you have to pay for every sensor they replace (I believe they should outfit your whole house with their product), and they only give you 5 sensors to start. You have to buy the rest if your house is bigger. I should have seen it coming since they wouldn't even send a technician to my house, on them, when I had issues with their signal box and I had to rig it because I can't afford $100 plus whatever other expense there could have been, even though it's in a place where it can't be messed with. It hasn't even been "armed" the last 1 1/2 - 2 years because of its issues. Waste of time and money.

    I liked the Vivint system that was set up at my friends' house so I wanted to get one too. Now I have the doorbell camera, inside house camera, wireless locking door, and all of my windows are covered. I wanted to watch my kids inside to make sure they're doing what they're told. And when getting packages delivered on my front porch, I can see when things are dropped off and I can actually speak through the doorbell and tell the delivery guy to give the package to my neighbor if I'm not home. I'm happy with the product and the service agents of Vivint. The tech guys that come in have all been amazing. One guy came out of his way when he was off work and fixed my camera.

    My only issue with them is their customer service and customer loyalty department. Anytime you call in, it's absolutely ridiculous. They’re very irritating. I've been a customer for years and I'm willing to sign another five or six-year contract but they're still trying to nickel-and-dime me. If my neighbor decided to sign up, they would get everything free.

    The features included with the service package I purchased at the time was two cameras, a lamp, a light that comes on through my phone and monitoring and then recently I added the doorbell and the thermostat. I used to have another service but it didn't allow me to activate or do whatever from my cellphone so I changed services because being able to use it on my phone was a good feature.

    The service so far is excellent and whenever a door or whatever is triggered, it takes only seconds for them to call or respond and make sure everything is okay. I like that and it makes me feel that somebody is actually sitting and watching my house. I have a sign outside saying I'm selling my house and people are coming through to look at my house and I'm able to see activity while at work. I have three camera views, the doorbell, the front door, the back door and if someone didn’t call me first to say, "can you turn off the system or whatever" then I am able to explain what was going on to them. And they were like, "okay, no problem, we just want to make sure everybody is fine."

    I recommend them all the time. The sales was great and they did the installation that same day because I was on then and the guy that sold it with the installer assured me that it was going to be okay. At the time, I had just lost my husband and so he was just very pleasant, very comforting. With the installation team, everything works and everything has worked. I'm just hoping because I'm going to move soon in the next two and a half months that I can move it with me.

    Vivint has been fine and very satisfactory so far. The service package that I purchased had four cameras, a motion detector, and a fire or smoke detector. I'm more than half satisfied with the services so far, but I'm a little disappointed that I can only get four cameras. I need more cameras so I'm hoping that Vivint will come up with a system or allow for an upgrade for more cameras on the system. The installation team came to our home and they were very polite and kind, and worked diligently to install the system. They were all very dedicated to completing their mission. The emergency system has worked very well, almost too well. I had an elderly relative that accidentally tripped the system and we had emergency services there. I was notified within less than a minute. This showed the system's excellence.

    The service package that I purchased from Vivint included lots of stuff -- cameras, sensors, smoke alarms -- all the good stuff. The installers, when they came to our home, were good. I wished they had debugged everything before they put the system in because they were some software issues, but these have all been fixed. The services that I have now seem to be working good. We've had issues through time, but got these worked out. There was a short in the panel. The alarm was going off for no reason at all. They worked hard to make things right. However I'm still waiting on the outdoor camera. They said that was going to be out, but it hasn't come out.

    My 75 year old mother's declining health necessitated a relocation closer to family for her safety and care. Unknowingly, she had agreed to a 5 year contract with Vivint, and when her house sold she had 43 months left. The buyers did not wish to take over the service. My mother moved into a relative's home which already had security service with ADT. When my mother's situation was explained to her satellite TV company, they immediately released her from her contractual obligation with understanding and well wishes. I then turned my attention to Vivint and expected the same understanding response. I was totally unprepared for the battle that has ensued. I have made several calls and spoken with several "Customer Loyalty" personnel, but I'll only mention the highlights, as they were each just as unhelpful as the next.

    The Special Cancellations department required a letter from my mother's doctor explaining her health situation. We complied. The doctor's letter stated plainly that, due to health concerns, my mother needed to move closer to her daughter for care and support. This was not good enough for Vivint. When I called to follow-up (Vivint NEVER called me) I was told that the letter needed to state that she has Alzheimer's, dementia, memory loss, or some such cognitive disorder. I explained that would be lying. Her mind is fine. It's general physical decline that necessitated her move, not a health condition that rendered her unable to operate the system.

    When I demanded to speak to someone in Special Cancellations, I was told that's not possible. They only do email correspondence. I had already emailed Special Cancellations and received only an automatic response. Vivint expects my mother to pay $3000, which is basically the 43 months remaining on the contract, and the people who have the power to relieve her of this burden are elusive. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH VIVINT.

    We've had Vivint for years. Their sales people came to the door and made the presentation. They were very polite, courteous, and they answered all our questions. As for their installation team, they did a very good job, cleaned up, and installed everything neatly and tightly. They even added an extra door for us so we have an alarm on the door of the garage. It went very well one everything was installed. It's been good with Vivint so far. We just updated our package 'cause we've had it for six years. Now we have the motion detector doorbell. We wanted the security and safety so we went with such features. We like them a lot and they work really good too.

    Vivint messed up my banking information leading to 2 months of a "past due balance". After numerous calls on my part and getting the runaround from many departments, they proceeded to take UNANNOUNCED payments from my bank. They didn't care that they had done this and offered me 1 month free service for my "hassle". Completely disgusted with the care and service I received over the past 4 months. Would not recommend this company to anyone!

    I had problems with my Vivint system. I was locked into a 5 year contract with two years down already. I called and scheduled a technician who responded two weeks later. The panel was replaced but the problem persisted. I complained to no end but was told I couldn't be released from contract. The Vivint legal team finally released me from the contract. I'm truly sorry it didn't work out but I want what I'm paying for and I felt I wasn't getting 100%. Thanks to the legal team at Vivint.

    A salesman for home security came to my neighborhood and sold me on protecting my family. Since then I've experience nothing but technical difficulties. My yard was vandalized right in front of my security camera and wasn't recorded. My alarm was triggered accidently and I wasn't notified until 15 minutes later which is a lifetime for burglars to steal. I've called to complain and even had a service tech come (weeks later) and there are still problems, now to include the mobile app. Vivint has locked me into a 5-year contract and refuses to release me. Now I'm stuck. To all persons wanting home security, be warned! All they want is your money.

    My experience having Vivint is sometimes a long process but they've been okay. I love the doorbell even though I had to pay for it. It's a great feature. On the other hand, the app on my phone seems to go offline and I have to re- establish it. My daughter has the same problem.

    I had this system installed in my home about a year ago. About 3 months ago I started having trouble with the door lock. It's a keyed door lock that integrates with the system. I called tech support and we tried everything to fix the door lock and it worked, until the next day. I did this a few times with tech support and suggested they send out a tech. They told me a tech would be available about weeks later (so now I have no security system during this time). I got an automated message that the tech was arriving NOW so I called TS, confused. They told me he would be there the following Monday so I arranged for someone to be there, no tech showed up and when I called again they said he called in sick.

    As of today, 11/24/15, I have another appointment for a tech to show up on 12/15. I have asked for a refund for the (at least) month without security and they refused to even consider it until the problem is resolved and they can give me a full credit. Kinda makes sense but I am so frustrated with their inept handling of this problem. I would like to see some kind of effort on their part to show me they are trying.

    Updated on 12/17/2015: Vivint canceled my service all 10 minutes after the beginning of the appt window. I now have to wait until Christmas Ever at 8 am for a service call. Vivint refuses to let me out of my service contract even though they have NOT provided me with the service agreed upon for at least two months. My next step will be to cancel the credit card payments unless I see some progress on this issue.

    I had the basic stuff, three cameras, the door lock, the temperature control and not too long ago, I just upgraded to the Vivint Sky with the temperature control and the automatic door lock I can control from the smartphone. All of the interactions with their sales representative went the way I wanted them to. However, when the installation team came to my home, it took a little bit of time initially because of my old system. But once the initial stuff was done, anytime I had upgraded or changed, it was quick. Right now, I'm happy with Vivint, it's a good service for me. Whenever I call, I usually don't have any problems. I'm satisfied with them.
