I like the one I had before but the Realtor offered to buy 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. I have it for two months now. Submitting in a claim was easy. Responses online made it easy and seamless. It took about five days to get in touch with the contractor and about nine days to get someone in. The tech that serviced my appliance was fast. He got the job done and left. It went as expected. It wasn't an awesome experience but it was good. I'm glad that I had the service.

Hi Candace. Hopefully we can make that time to get a contractor out to your home much shorter. Thank you for reaching out to us.

At the beginning of April my AC went out. And when my girlfriend and I filed a claim, the company sent out a very unprofessional contractor who used foul language, was inappropriately dressed (butt crack hanging out when he would bend over to look at the unit), walked into the house with dirty shoes (from walking in mud and clearly wet grass), and wouldn't even bother to put in the effort to do full diagnostic work up and just said it was completely broken. When we proceeded to call 2-10 about this issue and how we were not okay with this contractor, they proceeded to tell us that would be okay for us to go with our own company. And that all we would need to do prior to having the unit replaced is have them call in a diagnosis of what's wrong with the unit.
So after having two companies come in to diagnosis the problem and give us an idea of what needed to be done and a ballpark figure on cost, we had one of the companies call in the diagnosis to 2-10. The issue with this is the fact that our contractor had wait close to an hour to only deal with a rude customer service agent who misconstrued the diagnosis that he was calling in. This proceeded to cause some internal issue within 2-10 to where they kept us in the dark for two weeks with no idea of what was going on. So naturally we were a little anxious to figure out what was going on so we decided to call them for an update. This is when they finally decided to tell us that our claim was being reviewed by the high dollar claims department for the "abnormally" high dollar amount our contractor was asking for despite it being close to a $1000 less than the other contractor.
So we were naturally curious what needed to be done, but they just told us that we had to wait even longer the review to be finished. So we decided to wait until the next week before calling again. So when we did call again, they told our claim was rejected and that we could either go with their sketchy contractor, accept $550 (a fraction of the real cost) for a completely broken AC unit or have our contractor call in again. So we asked our contractor to call in again and he told us that when he did get hold of someone that they were extremely rude to him yet again and wouldn't let him speak so that he could elaborate on what was wrong. And that the notes they had from their previous conversation did not accurately reflect what was wrong and the real cost of the replacement.
So after hearing that he was able to get into contact with them, my girlfriend and I had to call several times and speak with numerous rude representatives in several different departments over the course of several hours before finding out that their representative did a poor job of noting the issue with our unit and that they were still only going to pay out $550 unless we could get our contractor to call in yet again and reexplain the situation. So that's what we did and after several weeks of having three people trying to work with them, they finally decided that they'd be willing to pay a little more than a $1000.
Even though the final amount they offered to pay was nowhere near what we felt was appropriate for them to pay, we decided to accept it because of how tired we are of dealing with crooks and being without AC. If it wasn't for the fact that 2-10 was included in my girlfriend's purchase of the house, I would've never chosen to go with them based upon my experience and the countless negative reviews they have on the internet.

We offer our sincerest apologies for the way this claim was handled Andy. We will send this to our team right away to that we can at least offer you an apology. Thank you for your feedback.

I had issues with my thermostat in December 2016. The contractor came out three times. They didn't fix the issue and they had an technician who broken my thermostat and my heat also not working too now. 2-10 warranty said they will not pay because it thermostat was install incorrectly. I would tell you my ac and heat was working correctly before their contractor touch it. Do not get this warranty. It is a waste of money. Their contractors break things and they say they are not liable to pay.

My AC went out on 4/19/2017. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks since my AC went out, and it is 95 degrees here in Georgia today. After having my claimed incorrectly denied and having to fight to get them to provide the services they guaranteed, I have still made very little progress. I received an email providing an estimated delivery date for the necessary parts on 5/15/2017. I contacted the contractor today who had not received the parts then contacted 2-10. They told me they weren't even sure if the parts had been shipped. They said to call back on the 25th, which will be over 5 weeks since my AC went out.
I have never dealt with so terrible a company. I would have been better off replacing the unit myself. I paid extra for the supreme coverage which has done me no good. This is unacceptable. I don't even know how long the repairs will last or if they will even fix the problem. I will most likely be suing. Save yourself the headache and don't go with 2-10. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!

Daniel. Thank you for your review. We are so sorry that this has taken so long to get resolved. We have sent this off to management and will be reviewing today. You have every right to be angry and hopefully we can turn this around for you.

I've had warranty with 2-10 Home Warranty on my home since I purchased it in 2002 but last fall due to financial difficulties I had to let it lapse. Today I called to see how much it would cost to renew & what the monthly payment would be & I was so shocked. They have increased the yearly price for the same coverage I had before by almost $200.00 a year and almost $20.00 a monthly & we aren't even talking about the service fee. I will be looking elsewhere for warranty because this is double the price of what I have found the same coverage with other companies. I only had a problem with the service contractor that was sent out one time & I really liked the company but they seem to have priced themselves out of this customer's business.

Hi there Lucille, thank you for your feedback. We can understand your frustration with our price increase. Unfortunately, we have to continue increasing our price to match the industry cost. We appreciate your feedback on our price and will do our best to use the information you gave us to ultimately, improve our services. Please send us a message if you require additional support.

Our air conditioner went out about 3 weeks ago. We called 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. They said a vendor they worked with would contact us. We waited to hear something and finally after three days got a text from a heating and air company. They said we had an appointment the coming Thursday which was another 3 days away. So Thursday... they were supposed to be coming between 2 and 4. They never came. My husband got a text at 4:30 that our appointment had been canceled. We were literally in shock over this. Never have I experienced anything like that. Canceling an appointment via text thirty minutes after the appointment window. So my husband contacted 2-10 again. He explained that it was crazy that it had been over a week and we still haven't been able to even have someone come look and see what the problem was.
We live in South Carolina. I am pregnant. We have an 8 month old baby. And two older kids. And even at night, upstairs is hovering right under 90 degrees. Finally last Thursday... which was about 2 weeks after our air broke, another HVAC company came out. And diagnosed the problem. And said they would report back to 2-10. But not to expect it to be fixed for another week. My husband followed up with 2-10 Friday and they said they hadn't heard from the HVAC company. But when we called the HVAC company they said they had reported back the diagnosed problem.
At this point... there are still no answers. My husband called the warranty company again today and they said they would contact the HVAC company. And they would call us back with some type of answer. We haven't heard back. We are beyond frustrated. I stay home with the baby. And have been in the hot house day in and day out for three weeks now. I am beyond upset and appalled at the unorganized nature of a "professional company".

We are sending this to an escalation team right away so that we can try and turn this around for you. We are so sorry to hear that you have had no response from us and we appreciate you reaching out to us online.

I've had 4 claims filed with 2-10. The first claim was a microwave oven that didn't work. The second one was an evaporator coil in our air conditioner that didn't work. Then the third was a dishwasher that didn't work and the fourth one was an air conditioner that didn't work. All claims were submitted on the phone and the claims representative gave me a number of the claim as well as the contact information for the firm that would be doing the repair.
I got in contact with the contractors and everybody was fine. However, the response for the air conditioning units was a little slow and then the last one was given to a firm that was 30 miles away and two towns down, rather than a local firm. When they got here, they were fine, but it took a couple of days in order for them to get here. Still, the service contractor did the job that they were asked to do and it was a job well done. Overall, I recommend that 2-10 use a local contractor, rather than one who is two towns away. Nonetheless, I'm happy with 2-10 Home Buyers.

Thank you for the feedback David. We will take some of your notes and use them so that we may improve. We appreciate your continued business and we hope to keep providing you with great service.

Our contractor had set us up for 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty when we bought the house 10 years ago. My experience filing a claim over the phone has been usually pretty good. Once in a while I get one of the little cocky people. But hey, that’s routine, no big time. It took a couple of days for a contractor to get in touch with me, which is normal. Ain’t no big time. Young people come out here, especially the plumbers, and they were all fantastic. I just had a problem with the air condition man. He said, “Your vent here is not large enough. We need to have to put your vent in your living room here.” I asked how much it would cost and he wrote $700. Then I had a friend come over and he said nothing’s wrong with the system. So that's a scammer. They were just trying to get my money and they messed up my house.
Generally, the claim is pretty good but the billing people are crazy. They already gave a little deduction on the policy in the early part of the year but my policy expired on the 19th of January and I ain’t got nothing to say to them. I put it on Chris and then I got back up. Then they said they were going to send the policy but they didn't. I still haven’t got no copy of it. For the billing, I’d rate them 1 on a scale of 1 to 10 and 10 be the best. They don’t care, they got your money and you worry about it. If they don’t give the paperwork in, I'll take my lawyer to talk to them. I’m a retired military so we got a free lawyer service so there ain’t no problem with that. 2-10 has been good all these years. Then all of a sudden, they are going wacky-wacky. But it happens. That’s business.

Thank you for your review Billy. I am happy to hear you have had a generally positive experience with us, however I want to make sure your issues with the billing have been resolved. I will send this off to my team so they can double check with you. We appreciate your feedback and will do our best to use it to improve our services.

Before I left my home with Sears, as I was moving to my condo, I had coverage with 2-10 but I debated with them and they had been calling me trying to get me to come back. I then decided I would try them for at least a year in my condo. Their customer service team has been good. On the other hand, the most problem I've had was getting someone who can respond to me in a timely fashion and I've always had to wait. Sometimes, one person comes and say it's not their specialty. The next time, somebody would say that I needed to get a plumber or an electrician and so I'm not happy with that kind of arrangement but once I have the right person, the job is taken care of.
When I first moved into my condo, I had an issue with carbon monoxide build up. The alarm would go off and it was frightening because it happened three times. Each time, someone would say it's not the stove but it's something else. Then the furnace people would come and say it's not the furnace. The second time it happened, the Frigidaire people brought me a new stove and took the old one out but it happened again. They sent somebody out and he went up the furnace to rebuild something. It came to a point when I was afraid to use my oven, thinking that's what was making the build up. It was not a happy feeling at all, but I'm happy the problem hasn't occurred within the last few months.
Then I had another situation where water was running into my laundry room and it was not my washing machine. The HVAC person could not find any reason why the water was seeping under my baseboard and settling into my laundry room. He said I needed a plumber so the plumber came out and in about two seconds, he knew exactly what it was. He opened the door on the other side and the pipe that was supposed to send the condensation from the air conditioning out came loose. The water was settling into the room, seeping under the floor and settling into the lowest level in the laundry room. He took care of it right away and he did an excellent job.

My family and I, which includes a 4 month old, have been without hot water for a week and a half. 2-10 has lied repeatedly about phone calls being made to contractors. I would call as soon as I got off the phone and would immediately get the contractor. The contractors are very trustworthy that we have worked with so far. We had a hot water heater leaking into our garage. They came out and said it was a pressure regulator and would not replace the water heater because the regulator is what caused the failure of the water heater. Never mind the water heater is 10 years old and has reached the end of its life and is the very reason you purchase home warranties to begin with. Is there ever a reason to call in a warranty claim that isn't connected to some other wear and tear on the equipment?
If I had filed a claim for the regulator and the water heater separately then they would have paid for both...but now they are trying to get out of paying for something that should clearly be under my contract. We have now had 3 plumbers come out and might have to add a 4th. I'll know tomorrow if "Jay" from the claims department calls me like he says he will. An unlikely thing since NO ONE has ever called me from 2-10. It's always me doing the calling and waiting. I won't be renewing with this warranty company. American Home Shield was out within 24 hours and had a new water heater in my home in our last house.
Lastly, not sure what homing pigeon system you guys have to take notes and communicate with but it's ridiculous. Every time I call I get different information. Every time I call I get a different person. Every time I call I have to explain the entire situation because the person on the other end is clueless. This is maybe the worst part about my whole experience. In the last week I've spent a minimum of 10 hours on the phone with 2-10 mostly and 3 different contractors. This is unacceptable and I'll do everything I can to let people know how terrible the customer service is at this company.

HI Ken. We are going to forward your claim to an escalation team so that we can reexamine. Thank you for reaching out to us online.

It's been at least 12 years since we started with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. The builder Lenore had given us that coverage for a year and I've kept continuing it. When I submitted claims on the phone, they were always handled expeditiously. The reps were usually cordial and knowledgeable. Most recently I had a technician out for garbage disposal repair or replacement and it was excellent. I was real happy with it. Although, the price has been going up considerably since I started with them, and the co-pay is going up too. But as long as they continue servicing my products and fix them, I'm okay with that. They've always come through for me.

Very bad service. Fridge went out, we entered work order and didn't hear from tech for week. Finally reached him, he missed first commitment. Came late second appointment and took lots of pictures. Left to order part. Over a week later took three calls to get response. He had to 'pick up' part. He called next day and said he was picking up part and needed our model number. Now why does someone who is picking up an ordered part need model number. Would have expected that was needed to order part. Next day, part not in. Another day part not in. Put in another work order and waiting to hear from company on second work order.

I've had 2-10 for home warranty for about 10 years. They are the ones I had in my house when I bought it. I didn't do it for a year and then I decided to take it back. The payment went up this year but that's all right. My experience with the customer service has been mostly good. I would submit a claim over the phone and then they'd send somebody out. However, sometimes the technicians that come out aren’t that great. They don't show up and they'll reschedule. Then I lose a day off at work and then I got to do it again the next day. But the appliances they serviced are all good.

We were purchasing the house and our realtor suggested we take a look at 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. Since then, we had them as our home warranty provider for four and a half years. We have submitted about four claims. Submitting has been good except for one that was awful but they corrected it. They sent out somebody to repair our clothes dryer. He was an aged fat guy and he had no clue what he was doing. He had to come back about three times and then he finally got the right part and he put it in wrong. We called 2-10 and they assigned somebody else and this guy fixed it in five minutes. We asked him if he could repair our refrigerator and that was great after.

We've had coverage through 2-10 for about 12 years altogether. It's easy to submit a claim. I make a claim on the phone and the reps are nice. But it's a very long and frustrating process. There's miscommunication and things take a really long time to get done. I have a really nice policy, but they refuse a lot of things that they shouldn't. I'm frustrated and a little upset right now because they turned me down for a problem that they really should've covered. They say that if they can't fix an appliance, they will replace it. Then they keep trying to fix something that is so broken. They get it to start working and it lasts for a little bit longer, and then I have to call them again. So, I'm not real happy. I have one air conditioner that's not been working now for over two weeks.
The service contractors that have come out to do the work are okay, but not great. None of them are based down here in St. Augustine. They're all from Jacksonville and they have to come all the way here. So, it's always a pain and it takes a week away before they come out for service. Sometimes, 2-10 has been really good, but at other times they've not been as good.

Greetings Karen. We would like the opportunity to reexamine your claim and see if there is anything else we can do for you. Thank you for the review.

For the most part of the experience with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, it was good. I like the premise of the warranty and having our house covered. I didn't have it covered for a little while. For a couple of months that I had a hot water out, it wasn't a problem because I could fix it but it still cost me an extra $200 to almost $300 more which I could have paid somebody to come out and do it instead. I just had a plumber come up, I had to pay him $500 to reroute a line that was messed up. Had that been covered, they would have taken care of it, with no charge to me. So I paid $100 to 2-10 to come out and they told me that the line is part of the septic so it's not covered. I paid $600 in total to have it fixed and it's still not fixed. The fact that they charge extra for a septic and they don't charge extra for a sewer line, I think that's wrong.
The complaint I have is the rates. 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty need to have the system revamped just to charge. I started out paying $400 a year and it's up over $600 a year. More than the cost of living and more than the market. They could work a little bit better on taking care of the customers instead of putting money in their pocket. If our rates continue to go up, I'm not going to stay with it. It's not going to be worth it because I pay the amount and then I have to pay a deductible so I'm shopping for a new Home Warranty. I'll continue to use somebody else because I believe having a warranty is a great idea.

Greetings Carroll. We are happy to hear about your experience with us and we are sad to see you go. Feel free to always come back to us if you decide you want to renew.

I am beyond dissatisfied with this company. This is the worst home warranty that we have purchased. Our built in microwave stopped working. We contacted 2-10 for service. Our problems began right away. The company that they contracted gave us an appt for 3:00 but the tech showed up at 0930 even after being told no one would be home until 3:00. We had to reschedule. The tech came out & looked at our microwave. We were told that the microwave was unrepairable due to a defect & that our home Warranty should replace it. He said once the home Warranty receives their report within 5 days, we should contact home Warranty to have it replaced.
2-10 Warranty rec'd the report the next day & immediately contacted my husband to state that the claim was denied due to fire damage. Damage that was caused by a defective part in the microwave. They offered no investigation just basically denied our claim based on the "supposed" notes in the system from the repair company. I was told that my only option would be to pay someone else to come out on my own to get a second opinion. Why should I have to pay someone outside of my Warranty to come out. We have already paid the company they sent out a service fee just to tell us that it was not replaceable.
I am so frustrated & disappointed in this company. Please do not make the mistake & choose to buy a Warranty from this company. We purchased a brand new home & have only had the microwave for 1 & 1/2 yrs. Something like this should not have happened. It's obviously a defective microwave, although they refuse to replace. What happened to the microwave was out of our control.

2-10's reps have been fine but the contractors are slow to respond. If it's Friday, they don't get back to you until Monday. It's always days before you can get someone out. And when you get them out, they diagnose the problem and some of the parts have to be ordered. I've had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for three years and it's always a week to ten-day process. And if it's air conditioning or utilities, or if it's heating in the middle of the winter, a week is a long time to be cold.

They put me through to somebody locally and they called within half-an-hour of me reporting the problem. The technicians came out within an hour. It was a husband and wife plumber, and they were very nice, personable, educated, and really down-to-earth people. They fixed the problem right then and there, and I had my sewer back up. 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was a part of our closing. We've had it for a month and we've submitted two claims. On the first one, my husband submitted online for our AC unit. And then the second one which is the dryer, I called in. Pretty easy process either way. But in the area that we live in, it's hard to find contractors to service a Samsung that works with the warranty. With the AC unit, my husband was able to have everything done online. We had more problem with the dryer.
Since we can't find somebody who works with them, they had to use the internet search team to find a contractor. Once the problem is diagnosed, if it's all clear with them, they would have to pay with it over the phone with a credit card. However, the contractor came out today and the credit card machine was down so I ended up having to pay for the entire thing. And they are going to send a check to reimburse me. Other than the fact that it's hard to find somebody to work on the Samsung, everything is fine. It's been really easy.

Thank you for the review Debbie. We are happy to hear that other than the confusion finding an expert for your unit, everything has been going smoothly. If you ever need anything, feel free to reach out to us at any time.

Was then assured that my request had been dispatched and was given a reference number and the contractor's name and phone number. Was told to call the contractor directly if I did not hear from them. When I did not receive a call, I called the plumber directly only to learn that not only did they not receive a work order, they never heard of 2-10 Home Warranty.
Called 2-10 back again was told that they must have had old information on this Contractor but would expedite my request. THAT WAS 3 DAYS AGO!!!! Called today and asked to speak to a supervisor but was told that they would only provide the same info that the phone rep was providing. That they would try to find someone ASAP. Really!!! I wanted a referral to go out of network but was told that I may have to pay more than just the standard deductible and that I would have to wait and see if they could first located someone. Really!! Very frustrating. This is absolutely unacceptable and will be cancelling this warranty.

This is the worst organization I have dealt with. I spent 25 minutes in hold to talk to someone named Esther about a leaking water heater. She was extremely rude. When I asked for her supervisor, she said she was not transferring and was hanging up on me... well she did. I call to complain. Emily said she'd have someone call me back... no call. My plumber is sitting in his truck over 25 minutes trying to get in touch with them. Thank God my contract expires at the end of the month. I'm sooo back to American Home Shield. Every time I have called 2-10 I wait sooo long to get a live body. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THEM.

Thank you for reaching out to us Cathy. We are very concerned to hear about the poor customer service you received. We will reach out to you for more information on this matter.

This warranty was placed on the home by my realtor. Within a few weeks of the home purchase some exterior lighting had stopped functioning so I called 2-10 and discussed this with them. As I mentioned it seemed like the lights stopped working after a recent storm, although how could I be sure the storm caused the damage or not, the representative I spoke with immediately stated related damage would be denied and I would need to call my homeowner's insurance provider. So basically this company seeks to deny possible claims without any investigation, which does not really describe a claims process as there has to at least be an investigation completed to even deny something. Don't bother with this company if you are seeking to purchase a home warranty - look elsewhere.

I don't believe warranty, that's why I never buy any extra warranty. So why I have this 2-10? Because it was part of the new home package. What a waste! Right after the builder's 1-yr warranty expired, I started to get into problems associated with HVAC and foundation leak, which should be covered by the "2-yr" warranty, but guess what, they declined both issues right at the phone call, not even bother with an inspection. Why? Both issues are not small fixes. I believe the practices at this company are deceptive and hope other consumers will learn from my experience. They may repair some minor fixes to make you feel good, but if there's something that truly requires warranty, they will find all kinds of excuses to deny the claim.
Every business is for profit, but their business model is, if they will lose money from a consumer, they will want that consumer to walk away rather than delivering their promise. They only want consumers who want a false security so that the company can have a big profit margin. I'm considering to file a complaint with Bureau of Consumer Protection on unfair and deceptive business practices. I hope other mistreated consumers can join me. We don't need another company which can't be trusted by consumers.

We are very disappointed to hear about your experience Cedric. I am going to send this off to my team and have them reexamine. Thank you for your feedback.

We scheduled the service, checked the agreement and it looked like it was covered under a code violation--a breaker with the wrong amperage. Then 4 months later we got a bill and a notice saying the work hadn't been covered, but there was no protective feature for us since the contractor didn't call the warranty to double check the service was covered. When I called the warranty about it later I had to wait on hold for 30 minutes and then they said there was nothing they or we could do. We just had to pay the rest of the bill which is ridiculous. We are first time home buyers and we were trying to save money by doing this but it was a complete waste of time and money. The service would have been cheaper if we'd ordered the work done ourselves.

I've had one call in for a claim. They sent someone out and I waited for them. But they turned around in the driveway and they went the other way. When I got a hold of them an hour later, he said, "Get somebody else." and hung up on us. He's a real jackrabbit and he doesn't care about me. I reported him. And all they said was, "Oh, that's terrible." I just sat there and sweat for about four more days because the weekend came. I called on Monday and they hooked me up with David. He was a very nice guy. He was professional and he had my air conditioner going an hour and 10 minutes later. We've had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for nine months and we have two places. The pricing has gone up over $100, close to $200. But we got it early so we could reduce it for $100 each unit. Everything else is fine.

Thank you for the review Allen. We are deeply apologetic for the way our contractor handled your claim. Just to make sure this never happens again, I will send this off to my team and have them reach out to you. Thank you for the feedback.

Our first year with 2-10 ended January 30th and we extended our warranty. The only thing that we didn't realize was there was a deductible. But if we hadn't had the repairman fix the microwave and just got the $100 to buy a new one, we would have been out that $100 because he showed us what it would have cost to have repaired our microwave which was $400 and to buy a new one was almost that. So, it was good that it was repairable and that the repairman was very pleasant and he came quickly. He also explained what he thought was wrong with the microwave. He put down padding on my countertop to put the microwave on top of while he was working on it and he didn't leave a mess of any kind.

I originally received my contract with 2-10 when I purchased my house, renewed not long ago, but will not spend another dime with them in the future. I've had issues with my AC unit the past two years. The first was due to groundhogs damaging the wiring, and every time after has been related to the fact that the original repair was not done in a manner to actually resolve the issue, just as a break fix so the technician can leave ASAP.
Every time we've had to call it in, it takes days to confirm when the company 2-10 sends out (Greenway Home Services) will be able to send a technician, and that company has never kept their word on the time frames given. Less than two weeks ago, they said they would arrive between 8 am and 12 pm. After 12 pm rolled around, we called (and waited forever on the phone), only to be told that we were wrong and they never gave that time frame, they would arrive between 3-5 pm. This didn't work for me as I had other plans that evening, which resulted in having to wait an additional two days for a technician to come out.
Here we are again without air conditioning, placed the call early this week, however no one is able to come out til next Friday. I have animals and this is absolutely unacceptable for them to be miserable for that long. We've let 2-10 know about these issues, however they always send the same terrible companies out. After this last round, I will be looking elsewhere for a home warranty service and letting as many people as I can know about my experience.

My experience with 2-10 started off well. My water heater failed and 2-10 sent someone immediately. The contractor did a good job, but was slightly less than professional; and I ended up having to pay out of pocket for "modifications" not covered by 2-10, but I understood that they won't cover everything. The problem started when we needed to finish the job with drywall repair. The 2-10 rep threw up her hands and told me she couldn't find someone to close the hole in my wall. She told me to find someone on my own BUT that person had to get approval first. For the money I paid at this house and my old house, I wasn't expecting to do the leg work; but I did. I spent lots of time calling around and found a contractor. The contractor attempted to get authorization and got no response from 2-10. Two weeks later, I had to step back in and call 2-10 to find out when they would give approval.
Their response was that the contractor accidentally left something out of their email, so 2-10 just ignored it instead of replying or contacting me. I asked them to follow up and was told "I don't contact people, that's a different department." Did they offer to forward the issue to the correct department? No. I was told to tell the contractor to start over with the approval process. I also found out that I have to pay out of pocket and then hope that I'll get fully reimbursed because this will be an "out of network" process. Why am I doing all of the work? Why can't 2-10 look for a contractor? Why do I have to come up with more money out of pocket because 2-10 doesn't have the resources to ensure that a home repair is done completely? I'm past the month mark on trying to get this all repaired. A plumber I spoke with (one who does work for 2-10) was correct in saying that he wouldn't trust this company with his home.

Almost a year ago, we bought the house and the seller set up the warranty with 2-10. Submitting a claim has been pretty painless. I usually just call in but I've tried it online once and that seemed pretty user-friendly as well. I ended up having to make some changes later on so I had to call in anyway. It was a washing machine issue and it seemed to resolve itself so I just cancelled that. The contractor didn't ever come out but I talked to him on the phone and he seemed pretty easy to deal with. More recently, I made a claim but I haven't heard back from the contractor yet. But every other time I've called, 2-10 reps have been able to help with what we were dealing with. I would recommend it to a friend.

Thank you for the review Bryan. If you ever have any further issues with your contractors, please reach out to us immediately. We will take care of that communication if you cannot get ahold of them.

Do not use 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty!!! I repeat do not use this company. Cancel your service and go with any other company!!! They do not cover anything!!! To make a long story short we signed up 3 yrs ago. I lost my job six months back and we didn't renew due to a lack of income until I found another job. So there was a little lapse in time between warranty (mind you we have been loyal customers for 3 years and did eventually renew when funds were available). We have had them out constantly to repair our AC. We just paid 75 dollars to have someone come out again because it keeps breaking. They were unable to fix it and the worker said he will recommend for a full replacement. We received a call today telling us we don't qualify due to a lapse in time when we were not signed up for the warranty!!! WOW!! Really? We paid over 650 bucks to renew our service and what was the point if this company doesn't stand by doing the right thing!?
Filing with BBB and prosecuting to the full extent of the law if we are not refunded our 650 dollars plus the last four 75 co pays we had to pay! The service worker told me this 2-10 Buyers Warranty is terrible and they try to avoid covering things when they break at all cost and many customers have had issues!!! Give your business to a company that actually provides you with a service!!! And I have tried to resolve this before going to small claims court but the only thing employees at 2-10 keep saying is, "WE WILL REEXAMINE your claim or let me ESCALATE this or let's turn this around for you" but no resolution ever comes because they are total scammers! Beware. Plenty of other companies send you a check to replace broken appliances without a fight.

Greetings Kristie. We will say the same thing on this review that we did on your husband's review, as well as the review you left on HomeWarranty Reviews. We apologize for the inconvenience of this claim, however 2-10 HBW repeatedly sent renewal notices to help you avoid any lapse in coverage. Since the home’s systems and appliances were not covered for more than 6 months, the A/C system at the time of renewal did not fit within the terms and condition of “in place and in good and safe working order.” We sympathize with the difficult situation you were in while in between jobs, unfortunately due to our company's policy, our hands are tied. We issued you a full refund but our denial will still stand.

Follow up. 2-10 contacted me about this issue and I have to say I am very happily surprised that they did so. The got some information from me. When I forgot to send it to them they called back again (thank you). After doing some research they called me back once more to verify that they had made mistakes handling my claims. The lady who called from customer service was very professional, very responsive and asked to make it right by refunding me the cost of the repairs from the first repair and the service charge for the slow repairs on the second one. Mistakes happen in business, and they admitted theirs and made it right. You can't ask for more than that. I've changed my mind about this business and would give them another chance.

I've had 2 contracts with 2-10. The first one in Yorktown VA in 2013 was outstanding. I had one service call and it went like clockwork. The second contract I started last year for a rental property in Kansas. This one was horrible. The first service call for a water leak took 4 weeks with no shows/no calls from 3 different service companies before I finally canceled the warranty call. I had to pay a handyman to go out to stop the leak, then pay a plumber to fix it - total cost? More than my warranty costs... nice. I called multiple times and asked for my $ back on my warranty. Nothing doing - 2-10 said they were not responsible for the problems with the service companies (who is??). The second one took 3 1/2 weeks to replace a water tube in my dishwasher. On that one, I had to call them to remind them that my parts were in and to schedule the follow-up repair.
To top it all off, today I received a phone call from 2-10 asking whether I would like to renew. I kindly said no, because... and the line went dead. No callback. I can only assume the sales agent didn't care why (really - you don't care why your customers are going away?). I called the number back and asked to speak to a manager (no luck. The agent would not hand me off). Bottom line - they can't do anything about it but note it on my record. They transferred me to sales and it went to voicemail. Not a great way to treat your customers. Now I'm not only displeased with their service but offended by their rude sales call. Bad service is one thing, but poor customer service and rude behavior make this a company worth staying away from.

Not having to worry about all the stuff that came with owning a home and wanting to save some money, I decided to get 2-10 home warranty. However, the HVAC guy they sent to do an air conditioner repair came and his wife was in the passenger seat. They looked like they were on their way to go get something to eat. He told me that he could fix some stuff that wasn't covered under my warranty. But he got shocked in my attic and he wrote a report for 2-10. He also left all his tools in my garage 'cause he was in such a hurry to get out of there. If this man got shocked in my attic, he would have been in a hurry to go to the hospital and not in a hurry to leave his tools to be in a rush to take his wife out to eat. In the end, the AC problem never got fixed and I fixed it on my own. The drip pan was a little over full and it had spilled over.
When I called 2-10 Home Warranty up again to get an electrician out a little bit later, they said that their contractor was here and he got shocked in my attic and they were not going to send anybody out for any electrical issues. I said that my electrical issues were on my back porch and had nothing to do with my attic. But they said they still were not going to send anybody out. I had to take time off work, get an electrician to come out, and go upstairs to verify that there weren't any live wires or anything out there that could have shocked their contractor. I had to pay for it. The electrician told 2-10 that there were no live wires out there, as I told them that there weren't. But 2-10 pretty much took their contractor's side all the way around even after I got somebody to come out and look at it. I told them over and over again that there was nothing wrong with the attic, but they didn't believe me.
2-10 should put a little bit more faith in their customers and also check on a customer's opinion on some of the contractors that they're using. I also had to take three days off work, one for that the contractor's visit and one for the electrician to come out to verify there were no open wires in the attic. I had to spend my own money and waited for three weeks to get it reimbursed. It was ridiculous. I then had to wait for everything to go through before I could call another electrician or called them to file another claim to get an electrician to come out and actually fix what I had wrong. All in all, I wouldn't recommend any of my friends to 2-10. As soon as I get the time, I plan to look for a different company.

Hello Mr. Davis.

I've been a 2-10 Home Warranty customer since 2014. It was recommended by our realtor when we bought our house. Last summer I submitted two claims to have my air conditioner repaired. In both instances, 2-10 only gave approval for their service provider to put a band aid on it and refused to either repair what was causing the problem or replace the unit. My policy expired in August while my wife was out of work and we were unable to pay the renewal fee. Then in February, when we got our tax return, we paid the entire year's premium in full.
In mid-April we ran our conditioner for the 1st time this year and it acted up just as it did last summer. I filed another claim and 2-10 sent their service provider to the house again. Once again I paid the $75 service fee and once again the service provider recommended to either fix what was causing the problem or, since the unit is so old, to have it replaced. Instead of sympathizing with our problem, 2-10 instead claimed that since there was a lapse in coverage from August to February, the issue with my air conditioner was no longer covered since the current condition existed prior to February. This was after they had already serviced the unit twice last year and refused to fix the problem.
I couldn't believe it. It's not like I was a brand new customer trying to scam the system. I've been a loyal customer for three years and have recommended their coverage to several friends and relatives. I spoke with 4 different reps over the phone and was unable to get anywhere. Their customer service is terrible. As soon as my current policy expires, I will be switching from 2-10 to a different home buyers warranty and will recommend all home owners I know to do the same. You can't treat loyal customers like this and expect to maintain their business.

We appreciate your review Michael. We are going to try and turn this around for you. Thank you for reaching out and we will move to reexamine your claim.

During a claim, my wife would get a call from the appropriate expertise and they'd schedule an appointment. The service contractors were all excellent. The only one that wasn't was because I'd called somebody but the problem was just a twig in our air conditioning system. The tech and I both had a laugh on that one. We have lived in our home for one month -- from March 17, 2017 until today, April 24, 2017. Our home was inspected by a company recommended by our real estate agent at Allen Tate. During the home inspection, I asked how HVAC was working. The inspector said it seemed to be fine, even though this was in February, and he said they could only run the heater this time of the year. If the heat worked, then there was no reason the AC shouldn't work.
We bought the house with the comfort that the seller offered a home warranty through her real estate agent at Berkshire Hathaway. This company is 2-10 Home Warranty. Two days ago we called a repairman to check the AC because it is not cooling the downstairs, and it's only April -- two months before the heat of summer. He said the unit was worn out and needed to be replaced. It took him no longer than 30 minutes to determine this.
When we contacted the 2-10 Home Warranty, we were told that this was a pre-existing condition and not covered. I think a reasonable person would believe a home warranty is expected to cover problems like the one we're having with our air conditioner. What other purpose is there to have a home warranty if it doesn't cover pre-existing conditions? I sincerely believe the practices at this company are deceptive and hope other consumers will learn from our heartbreaking experience.
I am a nurse and work hard for every dollar I earn. I do not sit at a desk; rather I rush from patient to patient giving them medicine and other treatments the doctor orders; I monitor their physical status and do everything in my power to keep them safe and alive. I apply compresses and bandages to hurts and wounds; I listen to their stories of suffering. When I am paid, I know I worked for this money. Companies such as 210 Home Warranty do not work for their money. The get it by deceiving consumers like me -- people who labor to pay for their children's food, clothing, and education -- and don't have the greedy mentality as the persons who run bunco corporations like 210 Home Warranty.

On Saturday, April 22nd ... contractor shows up, inspects the issue, placing a temporary bandage to the issue... then takes my check... advises me that he would send in diagnostics to 2-10. On Monday, April 24th (8:08am)... I contact contractor for update... He's waiting on 2-10 to give him authorization. (Meanwhile the hot water heater is leaking worse and water is now entering my home.)
On Monday, April 24th (11:02am)... I phone contractor once more. He waiting on 2-10 to give him authorization. At this time, I advise contractor that I am beginning to see water damage. Contractor responds in saying, "Once the job is complete... and leaking is no more... the sheetrock will dry," and I won't have to worry. On Monday, April 24th (4:50pm)... continued with my attempts and called Contractor, left message according to initial instructions from 2-10 post me filing the claim.
On Monday, April 24th (5:29pm)... I phone the contractor for the last time today and the contractor states, that he assumes that 2-10 will have the matter resolved by morning... In saying, he assured me that he would be at my home by noon on Tuesday, April 25th. It is now Tuesday, April 25th (9:00am)... I receives a call from the warranty company stating that they spoke to the contractor and repairs should be completed this week. (While more water is entering my home from the failing water heater)... So I respond with saying that this was NOT okay. As the contractor was leaning to repairing the issue by noon today.
Then when I mentioned the water damage, the representative responds in saying that the water damage is consequential damage and they're not held liable. I respond with saying, "Ma'am... I've been a customer now for 12 or more years... I paid into this warranty when my home didn't need the extra coverage. I paid into your company when you offered weekend courtesy. I paid into your company so much, that I should have equity built into my account." Then I proceeded to speak to the statement of, "I paid into you when I didn't need you; now I need you and you denied me." The representative then says she would refer my claim to her manager, but that was all she could do.
Tuesday, April 25th (9:31am)... I call contractor three times for clarity of install of new heater... No answer. Tuesday, April 25th (9:33am)... 2-10 phones me back to say the authorization to repair was approved. I mentioned to this representative that... I have that information. However, I can NOT wait for the repairs later this week. As my home was being invaded with water from the failing hot water heater.
Tuesday, April 25th (10:05am)... 2-10 responds in calling me back to say the contractor was suppose to order the hot water heater on the 2-10 portal and upon receiving the replacement... then would be able to install... I respond in saying, there has to be a more streamline process to resolution here as my home is continuing to being invaded with more water from the failing unit. The representative advises that I should contact the contractor to see if he could run by and remedy or I could shut off the cause. I say, "Ma'am... I filed a claim with your company... Your company sent the contractor to my home. Now you're telling me that the water damage is on me." She said, "Yes sir. We don't cover consequential damages." "Now ma'am you're telling me that I need to go buy a tool to shut off the water to my home." She responds in saying, "Sir... you don't have to yell, and yes."
I said... "I've been paying into this company for 12 or more years and this is the best I can get from your company." She responds in saying, "Sir... I am going above my job to call purchasing to see if this can get pushed through today... THIS IS NOT MY JOB TO CALL PURCHASING FOR YOU." (However, this company pays her to service its customers), "Okay," I say... so I'm placed on hold... only for her to come back to support that the issue of ordering is on the contractor's end. However, purchasing will see if they can arrange for the contractor to go pick up an unit. Tuesday, April 25th (10:28am)... I wait for the verdict while feeling like I'm consumed of my monthly dues without the support from a reputable company. Thanks 2-10.

BEWARE! 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was purchased for me as part of the purchase of my new home. On March 30, 2017, I contacted 2-10 regarding an issue with my refrigerator not cooling and the water pressure in the home being low. 2-10 sent a repairman out for the refrigerator. When he arrived, he stated spent 5 minutes looking at the refrigerator and said he could not fix it and he left. A second repair technician was sent out on 04/11/17. He ordered the parts and said I would receive a call by the end of the week. I had to call him and 2-10, only to be told that the parts had not yet come in. As of today, 04/24/17, my refrigerator is still not working. I have not received a call from the 2-10 nor the technician.
In regard to the water pressure issue, approximately two weeks ago, the pressure relief valve was changed. The plumber was very helpful and changed the valve pretty quickly. In the process, he cut two 12x12 holes in my wall to access the pipes. He stated 2-10 would repair the holes. After 4 days, I phoned 2-10, only to be told they do not have any "good" contractors who fix drywall. They would send me a check for $75 per hole. As of today, the two holes remain in the wall. The first claim had to do with the heating and cooling system, and it was taken care of fairly quickly. However, the latest one with the refrigerator which involved an icemaker, etc. took them over a week to get somebody out here. It was a Thursday or a Friday when I called, and then it was Monday the next week before I heard from anybody. Then they scheduled the appointment for Friday. I do live out in the country, in a remote area, but the guy who came was about 15 miles away.
Another thing was, I did the claim with a phone call but didn’t find an option to speak with somebody. It gave me these choices to push numbers and it got down to the fact that it had to do with refrigerator, but it didn’t specify the problem that it was with the ice maker. So when the technician came out, he didn’t know what the problem exactly was. And had he come 30 or 40 miles and didn’t have the right part, he would have had to go back and come back again. Being more descriptive about the exact problem or to speak to somebody would be my recommendation for 2-10. Other than those, I have had no problem with them. If someone else was building here, I would recommend that they go check 2-10 out.

Thank you very much for the review Ed. We appreciate your constructive criticism and we will absolutely look into implementing your suggestions. We appreciate your continued business with us.

We did not personally purchase the policy from 2-10 Home Warranty; it was included as a part of our home purchase. We have dealt with several items, including a hot water heater that did not heat enough water for more than 5 minutes in a shower and a microwave (over the range) that would not heat anything. After two months of astronomical electric bills, we called a contractor. We were told our Heat Pump was broken and due to the age of the unit could not be repaired. We liked and trusted this contractor (he had done great work for us before at a very reasonable rate), but he suggested we might want to at least check our home warranty for coverage since this was a big ticket item.
Upon calling 2-10 Home Warranty, I was told that "Yes... the HVAC repairs/replacement was covered." I was then told they would search for a network contractor and call me back with that information in a "couple of days". No call. So I called to get the info. They told me they did not have any network providers in the area, so I would need to go through my own contractor, get an estimate, submit it for approval, get the work done and pay out of pocket, then get reimbursed. I was frustrated about the reimbursement policy, as it was not like I was choosing to go with my own contractor, but agreed and had my contractor write up the explanation and submit it. They said, again, they would get right back to me. Again, they did not, and when I called to see what the status of my service request was, I was told that they felt the contractor was too high and they were submitting it to the high claim department.
Again, they promised to contact me shortly with an update. No callback. When I contacted next, they told me I couldn't use my contractor anymore... they had resurrected a contractor that used to do HVAC service for them and talked them into doing this service call. They had made me an appointment without my approval which I had to change because I was out of town. The contractor couldn't "fit me in" again for over a week. The contractor proceeded to come and give us the same diagnosis and a HIGHER estimate than our own contractor. 2-10 then told me they would only cover the outside unit, and that we would be responsible for replacing the interior unit and all the labor for this part of the process.
While the interior unit technically wasn't "broken," it would not be possible to replace only the outside unit as the indoor one would not be compatible due to age. This was the FIRST we had heard of this, and in fact they had been clear in the past that they would cover 100% of the repair. Now, they claimed that this coverage would only have been available with an addendum to the policy. Clearly, however, the indoor unit WILL NOT WORK with the replacement of the outdoor one. Additionally, the equipment they would provide at a "reduced rate" was lesser than our original contractor would have provided.
When I called and asked to speak to a manager regarding my concerns and FRUSTRATION, I was told one was not available and that they would try to make a deal with the contractor to provide the indoor equipment. Honestly, they didn't really clearly explain what the plan to save me money was. At any rate, the contractor did NOT agree to the terms, and my part of the bill will end up being over $2000. We took the day off work to have the contractor come. Upon arrival, the contractor (late - we had to call twice) did not have the right equipment. 2-10 had supplied the WRONG equipment (or was trying to give us something cheaper? I guess I will assume this was an honest mistake at this point). So, now we will have to deal with them AGAIN... not to mention that we took off work for nothing.
I began this process at the beginning of March. It is now late April - we have been WITHOUT our heat pump (had it shut off due to high bills, running on emergency heat only in interim) during this process to try to minimize the electric bills. 2-10 has not ONCE called when they promised during this process. I feel they were HIGHLY DISHONEST during this process and really only cared about saving themselves money on the claim. They did not provide customer service or actual service in a timely manner considering this affected our ability to heat our home AND our electric bill.
I can not possibly describe my level of frustration and disappointment regarding my experience with this company. I followed through with every request and changed course every time I was asked during this process. At every step, there was a new excuse or hoop to jump through. Honestly, I wish we had just gone with our own contractor and paid for the entire repair ourselves... it would have been completed a month ago and to our standards. And, I would have avoided dealing with this company and process. I would not recommend 2-10 Home Warranty to anyone and would certainly not purchase/renew it myself.

Just bought a house and I have an in ground swimming pool. Prior to buying the house, a pool service company came out and checked out the system to make sure it was in working order. I have had the house for a few months now, since then the filtration system has a leak from the unit on top of the water filter and the PVC pipes have some issues with some small leaks. Called 2-10 and they tell me that the plumbing is not part of the system or component? As far as I know and others I talked to also, consider the PVC plumbing as a component to the filtration system, you can't have a water pump and filtration system for a pool without the PVC plumbing to the pump and filtration system! The plumbing that needs serviced is above ground not underground. I would not waste your money!

My son purchased a home warranty with this company. They tried using the warranty when their hot water heater went bad. 2-10 could find no one in the area to do the work so they wanted to do a prorated refund. Problem is they cannot prorate anything since they couldn't get the work done. Should get a full refund. These people are crooks. Do not do business with them.

I have submitted two claims. One for refrigerator water that was not running out of the dispenser and because it was dripping out, they said it was not covered. Now I'm dealing with a second claim that was denied. My bathtub is leaking and they sent a company out who did not even run the bathtub water. The warranty company originally approved the repair but I think the company (Air Max plumbing) did not like the amount that was given as they originally posted. Told me it was only partially approved and said they would get the whole thing approved by the time the appointment came.
Then on the day of the appointment I call them to ask and they said the warranty company denied it. I call the warranty company who says they denied it because it was said the bathtub was installed incorrectly. How did I previously take a bath if it was installed incorrectly? And why was it previously partially approved? Does that even make sense? I think Air Max could not get paid what they wanted by the warranty company so they decided to make up something that would get denied. This house warranty is a joke as they find excuse after excuse to not cover anything that goes wrong. Very disappointed customer!

Our realtor gave us this home warranty but it is as worthless as the paper it's printed on. They were not able to find any contractors in our area that were willing to work with them and now I know why. Could not get any help with kitchen appliances. Finally, HVAC went out and they say they will only pay to replace the compressor on a 15-yr. old unit. So many hoops to jump through for no reason. Have never dealt with such a horrible company. They wanted to send us someone from another state to look at our HVAC! Only with I could give them NO STARS!

I was contacted today in regards to my review aof 2-10.com and as a result of the aforementioned issue they have Adjusted their policy and will honor my request for a pre-season tune-up.
Original Review: April 13, 2017
I am a new homeowner and live in Upstate NY. I contacted them to schedule a pre-season AC tune-up (originally a $40.00 fee added to initial contract) but after spending 43:29 sec on the phone with customer service rep and then supervisor it was disclosed to me that these "tune-ups" can only occur between Feb and Mar. February and March?? When average lows are below 20 degrees F, and snow flying they want to "tune up my AC by washing coils, hosing out leaves and debris, and running my central air?" I am not even kidding... "Well it's in the contract." I think it is just bad faith negotiating and very poor customer service. It was then disclosed that I could ask for a refund of 40.00 (nothing is guaranteed though), schedule a regular visit for the price of $100.00 and it would merely be a functionality test and even then not all work is covered. Ugh! I feel like I just left a car dealer with an extended warranty that warrants nothing.

Hi Bruce. Thank you for the feedback. You raise some good points about this tune up schedule. Unfortunately this was the time frame we came up with for homeowners to schedule this service. However, I will forward this to my team and see if there is anything else we can do for you.

However, all of the service contractors have been very good and it appears that we get our money's worth with 2-10. This is the worst company I have ever tried to deal with in my life. For starters the form we signed at escrow and sent a check for was not the same contract form that we received later and that they follow. Many more additional exclusions! We called in a claim due to the air conditioning system not blowing any air. That was 4 weeks ago and 2 different contractors to look at the problem. The first contractor was here for 5 minutes then told us to call someone else to get a air balance report. How do you get an air balance report if it doesn't blow any air? The second contractor said the return air duct might be too small and that the 2.5 ton unit was too small and should be a 3.5 ton unit for a 1,500 sf house here in Az. Sounds to me like improper installation on both items so you would think we would be covered.
Then we never heard anything back from 2-10 Home Warranty. So we have been calling and requesting an answer via email which they said they would do but it's been over a week and we still don't have any email or correspondence from them stating what they are doing about our claim. Finally a supervisor told us our claim was denied and that the contractor wrote up the wrong reasons and they changed it to read "inadequate capacity" which isn't covered per the NEW CONTRACT they sent us in the mail. We are still waiting to receive a response in writing so we can address the issues. It's getting hotter by the day here, over 4 weeks have gone by and no resolution as to what we can do! They are the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life and my family is suffering because of their lack of communication and concern for our problem with our newly purchased house!

However, a couple of times when we filed a claim with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, there was an issue. My wife has MS and we can’t be without air conditioning because the temperature affects her badly. It’s 95 degrees outside and I had to send my wife to our relatives for a week. We couldn’t even stay home. If something happens on Friday, it’s hard to get service. Sometimes we didn’t get any help until a week later because nobody calls you until Monday and then they schedule you for Friday. Other than that, it's been fine. The contractors were very polite and professional. Overall, they tried to do very well

2-10 was the warranty that was with the previous home owner. I felt it was more convenient at the time of purchase 12 years ago and I haven’t had any problem going forward. I've filed several claims with them and I essentially call it in. You have to be patient in the process but it’s not necessarily with 2-10, rather it's the availability of the contractor. Depending on the time of the year, the length of time someone comes out varies. During the summertime when my AC needed repair, it could be anywhere from a day to four days. But as far as the AC repair, it has been pretty consistent with the use of the same contractor. As long as the company is still a part of the warranty, I’ll go ahead and request their service. Overall, I’ve been pleased with 2-10 and I’ve continued to renew the contract over the years. I’d recommend them.

Thank you so much for the feedback Allen. We are elated to hear that you have been with us for 12 years and enjoy our services. Thank you for the continued business and support.

2-10 came with the house and we've had it for less than a year. The re-up is coming soon but we're not 100% on that. We had a couple of bad experiences with the home warranty folks so we're still debating. Submitting the claim was tricky. It was on a weekend and the first thing they came up was that it may be anytime between eight and twelve hours before somebody contacts me. Then, the plumbing company wanted me to wait 24 hours before they come out to the house. But my bathroom was about to smell so I called some other professional plumber who came right out and took care of it.
Then, right after I called the professional plumber, 2-10 called and asked me what the problem was and want me to go through everything again. But I've explained everything sufficiently in the claim so I didn't understand what the problem was. Also, the plumbing company's attitude on the phone wasn't all that great. They need to calm their attitudes. That's a major concern. Other than those, my experience with 2-10 was great.

We appreciate you letting us know your experience with us Carlos. We formally apologize for any confusion that may have come about during your recent claim. We do hope you continue with us for the next year.

In January I requested a plumber for what we thought was a leak in our basement bathroom, sure enough that was what it was. When the plumber opened the wall to fix the pipe he discovered black mold. We had to have the bathroom gutted and then put back together at the tune of over $3500. Here is a few months later and we noticed the paint bubbling up, we believe there is another leak in one of the pipes behind the wall. I went online and put in a service request, several days later I got an email and voicemail stating that they had no one to send and I would have to find someone myself. This is one of the reasons why I have this policy, I don't have the time to call and find someone myself.
Now as far as I know I have mold growing behind my wall that is going to get worse if the leak is not taken care of. I tried to add a new service request but was given a message that said I already had one open! NOT IF IT ISN'T BEING FIXED!!!! My next step is to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. If it takes too long to get this repaired and I have mold again, I will be forced to take legal action.

I got this home warranty when I purchased my first house. For starters, the companies they send your claims to are GARBAGE. I had multiple companies they routed me to that had an F on the Better Business Bureau, and 1 star on Google/Yelp. When I called to ask for a different company they gave me a really hard time, were rude, and would not send me to a supervisor one of the three times I asked to speak with a supervisor.
It took over a week to get my dishwasher fixed when it broke last month. Then, this month my AC doesn't work, and they send my service request to a F rated BBB company with nothing but atrocious reviews. I call in, asking for someone else and THEY WON'T CHANGE IT. They said the only option was for me to go outside of their network and pay for my own contractor to come in. I paid for a contractor from RS Andrews to come in, he said my thermostat is broken, I'm low on Freon, I have a leak in the coils, and that my system is a builders grade meant to last 5-7 years and it is 13, and needs to be completely replaced.
2-10 says they will authorize the freon, but not pay for a replacement. I had three other contractors come and all said it needed to be replaced, and couldn't be repaired. Then, they say in order to authorize replacement THEIR guy needs to come out. They routed me through another service provider (one week later in ATLANTA) and he says it needs to be replaced. This morning they tell me that they spoke to RS Andrews and their provider and they claim it can be REPAIRED instead of replaced.
I went back and checked the receipt from RS Andrews and nowhere does it mention replacing an Evap coil, and it explicitly states that the unit needs to be replaced due to age and other factors. This company is a rip off. After this experience I would NEVER deal with them again, and my realtor team is so fed up they are no longer going to be selling 2-10 warranties after 5+ years of using them as their preferred warranty provider.

Hi Morgan. Our team is going to look at your claim again and see if there is anything else we can do. We are so sorry to hear that you had such poor service from our contractors. As any first time home-owners, we bought 2-10 Home warranty and hoped we will not need to use it last year April. But our stainless steel 30 inch microwave stopped heating sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It was all solid, would turn on, table moving, but won't warm/heat/cook anything. We called 2-10. They scheduled a contractor ATES Inc. I don't remember exactly when, but sometime in December contractor came, picked up our microwave and asked us to pay service fee which we paid right away. Then we just waited and waited, neither Contractors, nor 2-10 called us back for any follow up. We called the contractor sometime in Jan. After many calls directly to their voicemail, we were able to talk to them and they said soon they'll have resolution. Then again early Feb and then again end of Feb.
They finally dropped back (supposedly fixed) microwave in March and that too without the turning plate and asked for service fee, which I had to tell, we already paid. The guy dropping the microwave had a file and I saw the receipt of paid service fee in it. Then next week someone from ATES dropped the turning table. When I plugged my microwave to start, the number pad was all loose and microwave won't even turn on. It was worse since it was picked up. Seeing this I called back 2-10. They said, they have the order dispatched to same service, even though I told them how horrible the service of the contractors were. I still waited 36 hours, called back 2-10 and they said they couldn't get hang of the contractors so they sent another dispatch.
Now I to wait 24-48 hours again while contractors call me back. I asked what if I don't hear back from them by end of business day tomorrow. They said then they'll set up another contractor. I said, "should I call back to you guys if I don't hear from ATES?" and their answer was yes. Seriously I have nothing else in my life than to keep calling 2-10 or this ATES to have my microwave fixed. Someone else can fill in my responsibilities for my full time job, take care of my 6 month old boy, my 3 year old toddler, my house and my life. I made the mistake of getting 2-10 warranty and now I have to pay for my mistake by keep calling them and to get my microwave fixed which seems feels like impossible task.

Every year their price keep increasing. And I'm not talking about just a few dollars, I'm talking about hundreds of dollars increasing each year. Since 2005 when I had my home prior to this home, I've already been with 2-10 Warranty and I will only be with them until the end of the month. I just sent in a letter with payment and emailed to cancel my membership for the end of the month because that's too much money.
My AC had just gone out recently and I had an issue with the company that they sent out and I'm not happy with that company. As opposed to the contractor replacing the part, he went ahead and tried to fix the part. I just had surgery, so I'm suffering in this house because I don't have an AC which is crazy. Another tech came out yesterday because it went back out to try and get the part serviced and he even said the same thing, that it should've been replaced. And now, I got the email saying that it may not be till next Wednesday before they can come out and service it. With that being said, I think 2-10 dropped the ball on that one. Moreover, I may not be an expert with AC units, but I do have common sense and I know that if it's the same problem that exists, I don't pay the deductible again.
The company tried to get me to pay on the deductible again. I told them I'm not gonna do that because this is the same problem and they haven't fixed the problem. I talked to someone at 2-10 and she sent a note over to tell them that I shouldn't be paying the deductible again because I wasn't gonna pay it. Also, I called and I spoke to the lady from 2-10 when the guy that came out to do the unit told me I need to pay $158, but yet he puts on the receipt $100. She was supposed to check back and get back with me. She said if they didn't do what they're supposed to do I could get my refund of $58 back. I told her I had the receipt with me because I told the guy he needed to put something in the remarks about the $58, which he put $58 in the remarks, but he still left the total at $100. That just seemed a little underhanded to me. Something doesn't seem right about that.
Other than that and the prices that keep going up, I never had a problem with 2-10. Their customer service is outstanding. I'm a little sad that I may be leaving 2-10 Home Warranty because that wasn't the plan and I don't like jumping from place to place. But everything is hard nowadays and everything is high and I don't need to be paying $500 one year, then next year I'm paying $700. That's just crazy.

Greetings Earla. We are sad to hear that you will be leaving. We appreciate the many years of business you gave us and we appreciate your feedback.

We moved into our house on Feb. 27, 2017. Our issue is with a Whirlpool washing machine that was originally installed when the house was built in late 2011. My wife completed a number of wash loads over a three day period without any problems. On the fourth day she used it and after running a number of loads the machine began making a knocking sound and she noticed a small pool of water on the floor. We contacted 2-10 and they sent out a repairman two days later. The repairman said the bearings were going out on the washer and that it appeared to have a small leak somewhere. He was unable to get it to leak again after running 3 cycles. He said the knocking came from one of the shock absorbers letting loose. He said machine was repairable and would submit request to 2-10.
A few days later the 2-10 representative called to say that the repair would not be covered since it was determined to be a preexisting condition and referred me to section 3 of the contract. Section 3 states that “covered items are to be in place and in good and safe working order at the beginning of the Service Agreement. Coverage will apply to an existing defect or mechanical failure provided the defect or mechanical failure could not have been detected by a visual inspection and a simple mechanical test. A covered item passes a visual inspection if the item is intact and without damage or missing parts that make the item inoperable. A system or appliance is in good and safe working order if the item functions normally without irregularity, smoke or other adverse outcome when operated.”
I told him that the washer looks brand new and that my wife had used the washer without any problems over a 3-day period. He said there was nothing he could do. I asked for his supervisor and got the same response from him. I then asked for a manager and after much resistance finally talked to the supposed manager. Had to go through the facts again for the third time. She said I should have had the washer and dryer inspected by the home inspector. I told her that 2-10 is well aware of the fact that washer and dryers are outside the scope of a normal home inspection.
Also the exception does not appear to say that any inspection has to be done only that if an inspection HAD been done that it would not have detected any visual or mechanical issues. The fact that the machine looks like a new machine and that my wife used it over a period of three days cleared proves that no visual or simple mechanical test would have disclosed any problems initially. The manager at this point got upset and stated there was no way that they were going to cover a machine with a preexisting condition and basically refused to discuss further. I told her I intended to file complaints with any applicable agencies and she said do what you have to do and hung up on me.
It appears that this company mainly tries to only get the initial premium without any regard to working with customers to develop a long term relationship. The paragraph 3 mentioned above when interpreted as they do gives them an "escape clause" to not cover almost any appliance or item. I am truly disappointed in the service I have received. We had even upgraded our service to Supreme for an additional premium of $100 after reviewing the various coverage. I now feel like not only were we scammed out of the original $465 but also an additional $100. I hope 2-10 will read this and do the morally right thing. I am a disabled Vietnam veteran and now a senior citizen. I hate to think that I have to go to such an extent with a large company to get what we paid for and should have had coverage without any problems.

Greetings Aubry. Thank you for this very thorough review of your claim. I am going to send this off to my escalation team and see if there is anything else we can do to turn this situation around. We appreciate you giving us feedback and will do our best to try and help out your situation.

Even you get authorization before the work, they won't keep any authorization in the record and will try every way they can to deny any payment. Never let them fool you. Insist on that they send someone to fix your program. Please also pay attention, there is a $500 cap. Also, customer service is very rude and with limited experience. Don't trust them.

Greetings Xinzhi. We are sending this over to a representative so that they can reexamine your claim. We appreciate your feedback.

My realtor recommended 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty when I bought the house. She had a positive experience with them. I'm retired now, but I sold real estate in Atlanta and I always worked with American Home Shield. But in Tucson my realtor was with Long Realty and they prefer 2-10. It's been very satisfactory when submitting a claim through 2-10. I usually try to do it online.
However, I've had trouble with their website accepting a change in password. My assigned password is convoluted, so I have to write it down and remember it. But if it doesn't work, I'd call 2-10 and I get good response. I keep getting stuck with those bizarre letters and numbers that they send me as my password, and I never seem to be able to get rid of those. Nonetheless, I would recommend them.

Hi Kathleen. Thank you very much for giving us a five star rating and the continued business. I will forward this to my team and have them look into your password issue. We appreciate your feedback!

My experience with 2-10 HOME WARRANTY has been terrible. Recently bought a house and got a home warranty from 2-10. Within the first 30 days I had to call to have someone come look at our heat pump as it wasn't blowing cold... Service tech said it would definitely be replaced or repaired. 2-10 is refusing to touch it at all claiming preexisting conditions!!! REALTORS DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE CROOKS... HOME BUYER BEWARE OF 2-10. READ REVIEWS!!! I most certainly wish I had or my realtor had because if we did we would have chosen a different company...

Greetings Judy. After receiving your review on Yelp, we reexamined your claim to try our best and find coverage.
According to the representative that worked your claim, you sent in to us an inspection and unfortunately it did not help your case. The denial is going to stand. We have however tried to reach out to you and offer the chance for you to send in any invoices you might have that show the issues on your inspection were addressed. In that case, we may be able to to figure something out. However you have not responded to us and unfortunately all we can do currently it let the denial stand. If you want to send in the invoices, please reach out to us again.

When my warranty on the house dwindled down, I researched a little bit, then I renewed with 2-10 because their warranty was what we were provided with originally when I built the house brand new, so I figured that I might as well stay with them. We've had coverage through them for eight years. Everything went good with them. Every time that I had a problem, I called the reps and the service was excellent. No problems at all. It was very good when submitting a claim with 2-10 and the reps online were excellent. The service contractors that were sent out to do the repair work were very good, and everybody was super professional. If we ever bought another house, I would use them again. They're great and wonderful.

Greetings Julio. We are elated to hear that you are so satisfied with our services. We appreciate the 5 star review. We hope to continue providing you with quality service for years to come.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was suggested by my realtor when I bought this house. When I filed a claim to them I went online and filled out a form that had a few questions. Once I did my claim, they called me to get things set up. The contractor came on time and took care of the problem quickly. I paid the deductible and 2-10 took care of the rest. All in all, it was pretty easy and if I have an issue, I won't hesitate to put in a claim.

We have had a 2-10 warranty for 4 years. At first, we were very satisfied, but in the last 6 weeks have had such poor service that we are cancelling our warranty. In mid-February, we made a claim on our refrigerator. The ice maker had dumped large amounts of water into the freezer, which had run into our basement. Shut off the water and called 2-10. Repairman showed up on 2/20, replaced compressor, could not get ice maker to work. He returned the next day with new ice maker and installed. No ice. He called next day to say he may have forgotten to turn water back on. I turned on water, noticed pipe was wet, but think much of it. Still no ice. I called repairman back. (It took several times to get an answer, tried leaving messages.) Reported problems, said the water line would need to be seen by a plumber.
Made another claim through 2-10 for plumber, another $75 service charge, nut needed tightened. Several more calls before I could finally reach someone, said water line was fixed, still no ice. Made appt for repair. No show, no call. In the meantime, I am having some electrical issues. I have a circuit that keeps cutting in and out, not tripping the breaker. Make request through 2-10. On March 10, an electrician shows up to work on the circuit. He replaces a couple of outlets, the electricity is currently on, he leaves. The circuit soon goes out (again, not tripping breaker) and stays out. I am without electricity in 3 of my 4 bedrooms and part of my sewing room. Call him back. He can't take care of it today, he'll get back. I understand, it's Friday, we can wait until Monday. More phone calls, no response.
2 days ago I finally call back 2-10 and complain. They will take care of it right away, yadda, yadda. Electrician set to show up 2/29. No show. Refrigerator repairman set to show up 3/30. No show. Yesterday I call 2-10 back and tell them what is going on and that I need them to send someone else -- someone who will actually show up -- to fix these issues. Can't do that. It has to be the original contractors OR I will have to pay 2 new service charges. Asked to speak to a supervisor. Same thing, only with snippy attitude. It must be the original contractors, who refuse to show up. So, I have been without an icemaker for 38 days, and without electricity in my bedrooms now for 3 weeks. DO NOT USE THIS WARRANTY COMPANY. Poor customer service, no oversight of subcontractors.

I have been a loyal 2-10 customer since 2013 and have purchased many of the extended coverage services. Last year we had a claim for our water heater and I have not been happy at all with the outcome. 2-10 would not replace the water heater with the same capacity of the unit that went out. They put an "attached" tank on top as if that would get us to the same capacity we had, which it did not. They said that was the best they could do or we could pay the difference for a second water heater. I assume some fine print somewhere allows them to take this position. Prior to this claim, we had a few others during our time with 2-10. Most problems were resolved, but not without many phone calls and at times "parts not covered".
So here we are in March of 2017. I realize that I should have received a notice from 2-10 to purchase my warranty for the next year as it expired in February. I call 2-10 to inquire about my renewal and I am told they will not be renewing our warranty. The representative said to email a specific manager to review the account and I would get a response within 24 hours. I did not get a response in 24 hours. I called again yesterday (4 days later) and today I finally received a response back stating they will not be able to renew our warranty service and simply referenced the "section" of the agreement that gives them the right not to renew our warranty. So, on top of the issues we have had, they are not going to allow us to renew our warranty and do not even have the common courtesy to send us a notice before our current warranty expires. They simply let it expire and left it up to us to find out on our own.
Absolutely horrible way to treat a customer! No specific explanation as to why we cannot renew with them either. So let me take a stab at why... they spent more money on my water heater repair than they collected from me. I will be sharing my experience on every social media platform and telling as many people that I know to avoid 2-10.

Hi Jennifer. As we have already sent this to you on Facebook on the 28th of March, we will respond on consumer affairs with the same explanation we sent you then. Your water heater was an 80 gallon water heater. The Department of Energy made changes to the efficiency of the water heaters and have classified anything above 65 gallons to be commercial and must add heat pumps and/or gas condensing technology to them. Many residential homes are not affected by this change. However, because your unit was 80 gallons, your unit needed to undergo changes to include heat pump technology. Based on our service agreement, we do not pay to upgrade your unit, therefore we offered you what was comparable to what you had in the home. Your 80 gallon water heater is equal to 2- 40 gallon water heaters. We understand it was not ideal for your situation and when that occurs but we do try to offer as many options as we can.
In regard to your renewal offer, there are occasions when our system automatically places a customer on a do not renew status. It is not bias and there is specific criteria that it must meet before it happens. It is unfortunate that this happened and that no one called or sent you a notice. We will pass your feedback on to the appropriate individuals that oversee this area of the business. We as a company have elected to stand by the systems decision. We sincerely appreciate you reaching out to us, because without your feedback, we never would have known that this was an issue.
We hope that everything is little more clear for you now with this explanation. We are so sorry for the trouble the water heater has caused and the fact that we will not renew with you. We wish you the best Jennifer.

We closed on our home on 3.13.2017. On 3.20.2017 the finished basement flooded with water coming up from the ground. I assumed customer care that it was an issue with the sump pump and was told that it would not be covered. On 3.25.2017 I called out of curiosity to verify what my coverage did include when I was told it was to include my sump pump. Created a service request and on 3.29.2017 a contractor came to evaluate the situation. My sump pump was buried outside in the dirt underground. I was told it was need to be dug up, and relocated including jackhammering part of the unfinished side of my basement and that it would all be included in my warranty. Today, 03.30.2017 I get a call stating it's my responsibility to dig up the old pump and that 2-10 was only going to cover up to $500 for the relocation. The job will cost nearly 5k.
Please tell me how this is supposed to protect the home buyer. Before being questioned, yes we paid for an inspection, no it didn't come up as an issue. And to top it all off I've spoke to about 8 reps with 2-10 and they all tell me different answers, and all but two were either rude or hung up on me. The last rep was wonderful but had to play back and forth because the manager I requested considering all the confusion "refused to take my call." Ridiculous. We didn't choose this company and will highly attempt to divert anyone looking for a home warranty to steer clear of them. Dissatisfied is an understatement and my attorney will handle it from here. BUYER BEWARE.

When we bought the house, our agent recommended 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. We’ve submitted a claim twice and so far, my interactions with their contractors were okay. We paid the approved vendor $100 deductible and then they submitted to 2-10 for final payment on whatever else the balance was. However, we’ve had problems calling the line 2-10 set up. Also, I wish they would give me a choice of vendors because, they just told me a company will be calling me to set it up, but I don’t know if these guys are any good or not. I have to take the assumption that they have been properly vetted.
As a whole, I am completely disappointed with it. The homeowner warranty has been a complete waste of money. We paid $500 for the home warranty to begin with, a $100 deductible and they covered nothing basically. Most recently, we had our garbage disposal go out. We had to pay $100 deductible. They would only provide you a builder grade version of a garbage disposal, which was poorly rated. So we went with an upgraded one. We only got reimbursed $92 for a garbage disposal. I would have been better off calling the guy directly and not even have gone through the warranty.

Greetings Dennis. My team is going to review your claim and see if there is anything else we can do to assist you. We appreciate your feedback.

The vendor that came for the furnace was very good. I liked him. He was very nice and he knew what he was doing. He came in, checked it all and he personally showed me what it is, how they're gonna fix it, and what to look for if the situation repeats itself. That was good and he didn’t tell me I need to have extra work. So I’m happy with that. But sometimes contractors come in here and they see that I need this and that.
When the plumber, I was not that crazy about that because they said something was not installed properly and there is an issue and if I want to correct it, he’s gonna give me a price. I know this is a come-on for doing unnecessary work and I really hate it when they do that. I had two inspections on the property and no one said there was an issue with the plumbing. So, I called the previous owner and he said that everything was fine. He told me what needs to be done in order to correct the issue. So I tried doing it myself. It was hard because I didn’t have the tools.
And when the guy came back, I told him about my inspection plus what the previous owner told me. Reluctantly, he did the minor repairs but if anything happens again in plumbing, although everything is in great order, if I have to call and I see these people’s names I would not use them again. So I was very upset with him because they’re trying to rip me off. Other than that, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty is great. It was not their fault that this contractor decided to try to pull the wool over my eyes. A lot of people say, “Well, the insurance is gonna pay for it.” That annoys me because the insurance and the owner should not have to get ripped off.

Hi Eugenia. Your experience with this plumbing contractor is very concerning. I will be forwarding this to a representative so that we can follow up with you about your experience. Thank you for your feedback.

Horrible service. I had a claim back in 2016 when I had bought my first house. I lived in my house for 4 months when I had a sewage problem starting in my 2 bathrooms coming up through the toilet and the showers. I did read the policy and the policy does cover polybutylene, the damage happened underneath my house and continued out into my front yard. 2-10 said I needed to contact home insurance and I did and told me the warranty should cover it. 2-10 didn't cover it and said it is not on the policy and I need to read it again. And to top it off 2-10 didn't have record of me having a warranty, which wasn't all of their fault, part of it was the realtor.
This all happened over 4th of July weekend. I went without any water for a total of 5 days. The plumber was the only nice person throughout the process. It took almost 2 weeks for me to get my home warranty because of the mix-up. By that time I had paid Mr. Rooter plumbing $2,000 bill for everything to get fixed. I was really upset because they weren't going to cover it and I had to pay for it all.
Rebecca called to renew my policy and I told her why I am not and cut me off and went on about the policy and that I didn't read it. I've seen her name on here already for review, and I agree she is horrible and rude like others have said. I will not renew the warranty and do not want to talk to anyone else from there. I am in service as well and she was not professional. Obviously I would not recommend 2-10 to warranty my house ever again. They couldn't warranty a flood in the ocean.

Hi Jesse. Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback here and on Yelp. From our perspective, this is how your situation played out. You had a claim that was an emergency. It appears at the time the service agreement was not in an active status because we had not received payment. Due to this, you had to have the work completed out of network.
We reviewed the claim in July and tried to find coverage, even though the work was completed with no prior approval. However, the issue was a sewage line failure outside the foundation. We do not cover claims outside the foundation of the home so we were unable to find coverage.
As for Rebecca, your issue with her is being investigated by management. Though we do not see what review you are talking about where she was complained about by another customer, please rest assured that we will make sure your experience with her is addressed.
As for your metaphor "They couldn't warranty a flood in the ocean" we do not agree with this statement. With your situation, we tried our best to find coverage for you but unfortunately your situation was not covered.
If you have any other questions, please reach out. We would be more than willing to discuss this with you over a phone call.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty's local representative sold me on their service. I have had them for about 4 years now and submitting a claim with them has been pretty good and usually easy. I have submitted most claims online and they have been fairly responsive. The vendor would call me to follow up and then come out in due time.
The service contractor who is an appliance repair person has probably been out on about three-fourths of the calls to my house. He is very confident, but he would be more confident if he spoke English. He speaks a foreign language and there have been a couple of instances where he has not gotten the full understanding of what I was trying to describe, and it has required multiple visits. Once he understands the problem, he fixes it, but getting that understanding across easily is not done. And that is the biggest problem which I have told 2-10's local rep about.
Unfortunately, over the three to four years that we have negotiated, he did not learn to speak English much better. And it is very frustrating to me because despite the fact that I requested on several occasions to not send him, he is the only appliance repair person they will send to my house. I understand it is difficult to find local contractors but they need to work a better translation system for him. The one time he has not been there on an appliance repair was on the third occasion regarding my dishwasher. They finally sent another party and he determined that the dishwasher wasn’t fixable, and I got a new one, which is great.
Nevertheless, I love 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. They have saved me a lot of money over the years that I have them. I plan on keeping them as a permanent fixture of my budgetary process. The only thing I wish is a little faster response time. Typically, I would wait three to four days for a response. A month or two ago, my refrigerator stopped working and I called on Friday about 3:00 in the afternoon. The vendor called me about 4:00 that afternoon but couldn’t get out to see me until Tuesday. It took him about 7 and a half minutes to replace the part that had gone bad, but I've lost $50 to $100’s worth of food.
A little bit more responsiveness might have saved me some money. I understand Friday afternoon is probably the worst, but I asked for an emergency call-out and I got Tuesday. But they are still better than the other vendors I have dealt with. 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty does a lot of things very well. And I probably sell 30 to 40 of their warranties each year as I am a realtor.

We've had 2-10 since 2010. Setting up a claim is very frustrating because I can't select my own provider anymore. Before, I used to be able to call the provider that I knew that was with 2-10. And now, they assign it randomly to somebody and I don't like that at all because where I live, the phone exchange is 636, which is Jefferson County in Missouri, and Jefferson County is huge. It covers places that are two hours away from here. And so, there's been a couple of times when a provider was assigned to me who came from a very long distance. This one plumber called me and told me my place is too far and that he couldn't make money coming here. He said it's big a waste of time. So now I don't even do the claim online anymore, I make sure that I call. Or, the last time I did it I put in the notes, "Make sure you have someone who comes to my ZIP code" and that's gotten better since I started doing that, at least.
Then when I had my refrigerator problem several years ago, it took me over 36 hours of my life to get that refrigerator fixed, waiting for people and for parts. Four different providers came out here. It was ridiculous. The price keeps going up, too. But other than that I like 2-10 because we had an issue with our air conditioner and if we didn't have them, then we would have paid for a whole new air conditioner. When the guy told them what the problem was, they would only pay for that part that was broken versus getting a whole new air conditioning, and I wouldn't have been able to do that. So that saved us money right there. The cost of what he did was $1,600 and we didn't get charged that, but if we didn't have 2-10 it would have cost us $4,000 for a whole new unit.

Greetings Paula. We appreciate your feedback. We wanted to address your issue of not being allowed to select a contractor of your choosing. We try to allow our system to do the selection of the service contractors because they tell us the zip codes they service. Also, allowing the system to select ensures the contractor has the bandwidth to take the claim. If we allow everyone to select their own contractor we could book them up without knowing and cause a bad experience or ripple in other claims. We really appreciate your feedback though because we will look into the service contractors that directly work within your county. This can be valuable information to us as we may need to hire more service providers that can service the homes in your area.
We are happy to hear that you are generally satisfied with our services. If you need any other assistance please feel free to call us anytime or reach out to us on Social Media.

OK that is fine. I will take care of the rust myself just replace the motor. We had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, dropped it and then picked it back up a few years ago. Then because we were not pleased, we did not renew this past January. We had filed a claim for a heating system that wasn't working right. I was told the guy who came out was the Manager. His name was Bill and he was supposed to fix it. I thought everything was fixed. A few days later, it was the same old thing. It turned out that it was never fixed. I called somebody else and another guy came out. He told me what the other man had done, it had something to do with the thermostat. He said that he got it working. Three days later, I had no heat. I was tired so I got somebody else and I got another home warranty company.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was one of the options presented to us when we originally bought the house and we went with them. Submitting claims is pretty easy. We go online, fill out a little form and they take it from there. They always call us and that's usually the next day. There have been times where it's taken a while to get something fixed. It can take a little bit longer for the guys to come out and that's usually a scheduling thing. We had a hot water heater go out on us. It was a couple of days before the guy could come out, look at it, see exactly what needed to be done and get the hot water heater in. That was about a week-long process from the time it died until the time we got a new one. But it's what happens when you deal with a warranty. Also, we never had a problem with any of the folks that they send out. They've been really good.

Waste of money and RUDE! We received our warranty when we purchased our home. The air conditioning in our house was not working. We called them on 2 different occasion. Both times the company THEY CALLED said we needed our system replaced. They refused to replace the system and told them "to fix it." Each time we called was costing us a $75 service call.
Our renewal just came up. A lady named Rebecca tried to renew our policy. I called her back, she went over the options and when she was done she asked what we were wanting to do. I told her that honestly we weren't planning on renewing because we thought the policy was a joke... This lady wouldn't let me finish, was so rude with her response, yelled at me with "I assure you it's not a joke and I didn't not need to be yelled at today" (if I was yelling at her she wouldn't have known) and before anything else was said she hung up the phone. This is unacceptable customer service behavior!!!

I bought this warranty when we purchased our home and have been very disappointed. We paid for extended warranty to cover our pool, but when it came time to use it, they did not have anyone to service pool. Don't offer it, if you don't have anyone to service it. It was a headache all the way around. We had our dishwasher go out several months ago and the service contractor they kept sending (he came out 6 times) could not figure out what was wrong with it. Called and explained it was time to just replace it after spending several hundred replacing parts. Hmmm surprise no one could make that decision. I could have saved them a lot of money if they had listened to me several hundred back. They would not authorize it. Had to fight to get someone new to look at dishwasher.
Finally got someone to say yes it needed to be replaced. Ok fine, happy with that, when I called to tell them to go ahead and order dishwasher they said "ok it will be 7 to 10 days to get it and then you will have to call us to get someone out to install". Received a voice message they want same company to install dishwasher that could not figure out what was wrong with it. No, not happy that they want to send someone who did not know what they were doing the 6 times previously. Why would I want them to install it? After countless call and headaches, not to mention when I call -- the customer service agents are extremely rude and not sympathetic to your situation. I literally just got off the phone with one that was yelling at me. They desperately need some training on customer satisfaction. After several months and dealing with same contractor now they want to send same one to replace dishwasher?
Do they really think that would make me happy. I thought the whole purpose of having a warranty was so you would not have to deal with all the headaches. I have spent a lot of time and countless calls trying to fix all the issues... I needed them to deal with. I do not like writing bad reviews and very rarely if ever have. This is extremely upsetting. If I had received good customer service I would have renewed warranty. I'm sure if the CEO knew of the way the company was being handled he would not be happy. Just go back and listen to all the phone calls we have had and verify this story.

To be a first time home buyer I have had the worst experience with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty this month of March. I call to report low hot water pressure throughout my home. That was the ONLY problem that I had. I Call 2-10. They sent a plumber from Miller and Sons, came out, he change few things on the hot water heater that did not solve the problem and I had to pay $75.00. I don't think I should have had to since the problem wasn't resolved so he gave up after his services. It made my bathroom sink LEAKED, so he suggested a second opinion.
They sent B & B plumbing. He came and change my pan and found out the hot water heater had busted. They changed that out and put in another new one, had to pay $125.00 for something they did not cover. He could not fix the problem neither. I still had low hot water pressure after his service. It cause me not to have any hot water in my half bathroom. NONE!!! I called 2-10 back to ask if they could fix two problems that had happen during the 2 plumbers. They wanted me to pay another $75 and on top of that I purchase my own faucet and they still wanted me to pay. This the worst I have experience.

I've been with 2-10 Home Buyers for years, but I quit. When I had it, I just bought the house and didn't really need the warranty. I didn't know that when you buy a house, they sell everything. I've been short of money too so I said that I'll just save a little bit. But since I've had them, they've been giving me good service. So, I decided to take them back last year other than to go looking for other company. The claims process was always great. When I call, they listen and answer right there to address the problem. They right away name the technician or when they're supposed to come, they call right away.
I called two times for my air conditioning. They fixed it before but that was for the cold season. But in the hot season, I called them, then somebody came and checked that the thermostat needed to be changed. They said it was going to be a few days as they got to order the part. As soon as they got it, they came and put it. 2-10 Home Buyers is a good company.

Our heater went out in the middle of winter on a Saturday night. We spent one night freezing and called to get it fixed through 2-10. Their service person wouldn't come out until the following Friday to fix it. We called and got authorization to get it fixed out of contract because of this. The bill was $388 to get fixed and all we got back from 2-10 was a check for $80. I'm going through chemotherapy right now and there is no way I could live in a house that cold for nearly a week. We needed it fixed ASAP. What good does a warranty do you when they take so long to fix it with their people and when you go out of contract they barely pay anything for it. Same thing happened with our air conditioner in the summer. We had to wait nearly a week to get it fixed. We are NOT renewing our contract with them again.

I've had another service before 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, which I hated. It was just terrible. I had two houses covered under it and they were extremely hard to deal with at times. Also, I did not like the service people at all for the most part. They'd tell me they'd come between 8 o'clock and 5 o'clock and the guy would turn up at 7 o'clock that night and then not take care of the problem. I've had that happen twice so I was not a happy camper. Then, I learned about 2-10 through my realtor and this is my second year with it.
I haven't had any major problems. The last time I used it, there wasn't anything wrong with my appliance when the guy came and it was like taking the baby to the doctor, then the cough quit. But so far, I've liked the service people better and this one has been much easier to deal with. I've noticed that these people come from obscure places, but maybe they need the business and maybe they're willing to please better. I'm not hard to get along with, I'm not one of those picky people and I understand the service end of business. So far, it's been a pleasant experience with 2-10.

Submitting claims with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty wasn't really difficult. They have to be informed on what the situation is and based on that, they get the information and they'll let you know that they will have the service contractor call you from your area. The first time I called was for my sink. Water was leaking in the bottom of the sink in my kitchen and water in the pipe system went to my basement. The guy came out and he had to look at two different areas so he wanted me to pay for two different visits for $75 each, which would be $150. First of all, the 2-10 person had told me that they would lump it as one and he didn't even do much because all he did was change the elbow of the piping under the sink and that's it. It became an issue and then after they called back, they have to classify it as two separate orders.
The last contractor that came to my house was for the heating system. I thought the machine wasn't working because when I got back home from a Christmas holiday trip, the machine had stopped and the whole house was cold. I called in and they said they would send someone. The guy came, he looked around and asked me what was wrong. He went downstairs, checked everything and he said that it was functional and that nothing was wrong with the system. Then, he came upstairs and looked at the thermostat and the problem was that the battery was dead in that. He asked for batteries, I gave him the batteries and all he did was go and change them. I paid $75 for him to come to the house and change some batteries. He even added that he provided the batteries, which was an error.
I don't think it was valid and I wasn't happy about paying $75 when I provided the product and I could have done it myself. I called them and told them about the situation. I should either be reimbursed a percentage of that because he didn't do anything in my house and the service didn't merit $75 but they said that he came out and did the service. I called back and the lady patched me through the claim section but I didn't get to speak with the person because I was put on hold, then the call dropped, and I never called back. Even to this day, I still feel that I should be reimbursed for the batteries, at least.
I'm definitely debating right now on changing or canceling out 2-10 because I've been paying it for three years now and I don't really use it. But when I used it, it's as if I'm paying $65 every month unnecessarily. It's an insurance just in case something happens and I understand that but if this is the service that I'm gonna get, then it's not worth it. Also, it's a little expensive based on the fact that you have to pay double. You buy into the service on a regular monthly payment and then you still have to pay for the service. I don't understand the whole concept and it's a little bit over the top. But I understand services and companies have their different situations. I'm not 100% happy with it but for now, it's something I have to go with.

Greetings Francisca. Thank you for relaying your experiences with us. We do not want to see you go. A Home Warranty Service Agreement is somewhat equivalent to your car and health insurance for the systems in your home. In addition to paying a monthly premium, there is a deductible due, referred to as a Service Fee. (With a Home Warranty Service Agreement you do have the option to pay your premium in full versus monthly.)
Our average customer places one and a half service requests a year, saving them a lot of money. We caution that without a home warranty, you risk having to cover systems in your home when they break down completely out of pocket. This could ultimately result in a very high cost without the warranty.
We will review your service requests as we appreciate the feedback. Thank you for your review and we hope you choose to stay.

Heat went out March 4th Sat afternoon. Temp dropping to 20. Service agent advised that the contractor will call me on Monday. This was a health & welfare safety issue. So I went out of network. 2-10 requires preauthorization BUT you can't get authorization after 5 on Saturday. Subsequently, 2-10 will not reimburse any amount of the Saturday evening service call. Told me I did not get preauthorization which could not happen until the next day. Be aware of the fine print and keep your service requests to M-F.

The second service provider who was suppose to come out for a second opinion gave me a window from 12-4 pm and never shows up! Back to zero for me. Please explain to me how a dryer that destroys clothes is not broken? This is ridiculous. Wasted so much time with this - if you are considering 2-10 - go with somebody else. A friend referred 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty to me and I've had them for six years now. Submitting a claim has been an easy process. However, I've experienced that the companies that they send here to do the work were not the best that I would have chosen. Also, the deductible is starting to go up every year. One time, I had an issue with the technicians who came to fix my washing machine. They worked on it three or four times, but couldn't get it right. Then, they said it couldn't be repaired, but 2-10 couldn't match the value of the front load washing machine that I had. So they sent me a check. Although there was one time I had some plumbing work done and the plumber was really good. Another time, an electrician had to come because something went out in my ceiling fan and the guy did a good job. Despite the incident with the company they used to work on my washing machine, I would recommend 2-10 to a friend.

It wasn't hard to submit a claim to 2-10. However, I was given incorrect information when I called and that just snowballed into a lot of unpleasant experience. I called before the 30 days to add the pre-season tune-up and also the cheaper service charge. They told me that I already included that in the plan when I was having some issues with my heater. I was thinking maybe the heater just needed to be serviced because no one was living at home.
When I went online to submit the claim, there wasn't an option for the pre-season tune-up so I proceeded to tell what was going on. It was making a lot of noise and wasn't heating like it should. When I actually got a call back, the repairman came out and I asked about the pre-season tune-up. I was told that it wasn't part of the coverage and if I wanted it, they can add it on for the $40 but it will be an additional $75 service fee for them to come back out.
The rep that I talked to said they go through training and no one would have told me that the pre-season tune-up is included in my plan. I know that for sure someone called and told me that information, and I wouldn't make this up. I told the rep that I could give her a screenshot of the incoming call on my cellphone and the time that we were on the phone. She just said that they will research it and try to figure out who it was but that's all the information they needed from me at the time. I felt like I needed to defend myself and nothing was really done as far as customer service because I ended up getting the service added on but I paid for it. However, as far as the claim when getting the heater fixed, that went well.

We filed a claim when we needed some electrical work done and the guy who came out was nice, courteous and efficient. Then our refrigerator started acting up and the guy who came over said he couldn't do anything with it. He then replaced it with a new one. It took a couple of days from the time I submitted the claim for the techs to come but when they did, they were friendly and excellent. Once this warranty runs out, we will continue the program because we've been satisfied with 2-10. I recommended it to my neighbors but they said one has to be a new homeowner to get it.

When we bought our home, 2-10 was the warranty that the builder established. Something came out in the first year and the warranty worked well. We just figured if that was what the builder chose and it went that smoothly we’ll just keep using it. I usually file a claim over the phone. The recording gives the option online, but it’s easier for me to explain with a person. In that part, it is good. The only issue I had was when I could not pull up the work order request on my email when they sent the confirmation in. So I called and asked them to send it again, but they couldn’t resend the message. I didn’t understand that. When I called back, the other person was able to pull it up, so I could write everything down. But everything else has been pretty good. In summary, my experience with 2-10 was terrible. I wasted a lot of money on this company. I was paying for a year and a half for home insurance so when I have problems, they cover fixing it. When I had my first problem in my air-condition unit, they did not fix it and they were not willing to fix it. My air conditioner broke down, I called 2-10 and they sent out a contractor who did not focus on solving the problem, instead, he focused on selling me a unit outside the insurance coverage and convincing me to not file a claim and buy a unit directly from him. Of course, so he can make more money. I have this well documented. When I asked 2-10 if the contractor is allowed to do that, they said yes, it's allowed. Of course, it's not allowed! I am not calling to have somebody give me quotes that are double the standard price! I am calling to have my problem fixed.
The contractor reported to 2-10 that my unit is lacking maintenance. I did the maintenance and called 2-10 to proceed with my claim, they sent the same contractor, and of course, the same story. 2-10 called and told me that I need to send them the maintenance receipt so they can proceed with the claim, so I did. They call me again to send me another contractor to diagnose the problem. After having 2 diagnosis report. And every time, charging me 75$. I wasted around 400$ on doing the maintenance and paying service fee without any results!
On top of that, every time I call, a different person take the call. I had to repeat my story more than 5 times. Rather than talking to one person who understands what's going on, every time I had to explain the same story to Jared, Wilson, Kathy, Andi, etc.. Besides the money that I wasted, I wasted a lot of my time waiting for the contractor, on hold on the phone, and a lot of time explaining my case repeatedly to Jared, Wilson, Kathy, Andi, etc.. I had the feeling that this company is a scam. My opinion, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Hi Ghassan. We are very disappointed to hear about your experience. We are going to have our customer experience team review your claim. Thank you for your thorough review.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Steer clear of this money pit!! I had a plumbing issue where none of my toilets would flush on a home I purchased 2 weeks ago. First instinct was to make a call into our 2-10 warranty. (Which was about $600 for the 'supreme' coverage). So, right after spending the $600 to purchase the warranty, I had to pay $100 for the service call. Not a big deal at first, until the plumber gets here and says he doesn't see anything and needs to use a video scope. $300, and guess what 2-10 doesn't cover the video scope. Well how in the world else would you identify the cause of the plumbing problem without the video inside the pipe?!?
Due to the fact that my toilets wouldn't flush, showers and sinks wouldn't drain, etc- I paid for the $300 video fee because what other option did I have? Video uncovers the problem is about 5 feet outside the house in the pipe. Guess what? 2-10 doesn't cover anything outside the house. So, tell me again, what was the point of purchasing this so called 'warranty' to begin with?? All it did was cost me more money, and let them choose the plumber for me on their time. The original problem happened around 8:00pm on a Wednesday, and no one was here for an 'emergency' until around 1:00pm on Thursday because they "couldn't find anyone yet." Craziest part is, I've spent $1,000 with these crazy people over the last few weeks, and my problem isn't even fixed!

Also, they're friendly whenever I speak to them.
We had some plumbing done by them and they were excellent. However, we had one contractor and the girls in their office were really rude. I told them "Nope. I don't want you in my house". So I asked if we could get a different company. That's how we got the good plumbers. Also recently, we had a big water leak and we didn't know if it was inside or outside. I had a gas leak in my basement coming from my hot water heater. I called the Gas Company and they sent a representative out to inspect and then fix the leak. 2-10 will not cover the repair cost since it was not authorized before the repair occurred. EVEN though it is a gas leak and my gas provider was not going to leave my house before fixing. How long was I supposed to wait for them to authorize the work or not? The gas repairman was at my house and he was going to fix it regardless.
There is absolutely no wiggle room with 2-10 even though that type of repair is covered. They want the option of choosing their own contractor even in the face of an emergency. Both times I called them I was stonewalled by the customer service agent and was denied both times to speak to a supervisor/manager. The only reason I still have the service is because it was paid for by the seller of the house. I would never renew my service with 2-10 and I will definitely not recommend them to anyone I know.

Their contractors were very courteous. I leave my garage open during daytime but instead of them trying to walk into my garage, they stayed out there and rang the doorbell and they had identification.
They were nice and respected my wishes as far as not walking with shoes inside the house. One guy had booties on when he had to go upstairs while the other guy just took off his shoes as he walked right in the door because he was just on the first floor and only had to look at my stove. Our septic system alarm went off alerting us to a problem with the system. The lines were about to back up into the house. We immediately submit a service request; we were contacted within a few hours by the contractor dispatched by 2-10, only to be told they do not service septic systems. Our service request was specific to the need of service to the septic system. We were in a position that could not be put on hold. We were able to contact a local septic company & plumber who provided us with great detail in assessing our problem & necessary solution. The septic tank needed to be pumped & replaced along with a pump and electric outlet. We knew the pumping of the tank would not be covered, but we were under the impression the tank replacement and/or pump would be at least up to $500.
The total job was extensive with a final bill of $4300. This was a huge hit to take on a home we purchased less than 6 months ago that is less than 10 years old. We hoped there would be some relief in at least having the tank and/or pump replacement covered. I submitted all information to 2-10, advised them how disappointed I was in that the contractor they original assigned to us did not even service septic systems, but was eventually advised the work done is not covered under our warranty; having it done by an out of network contractor definitely did not help us, but our situation could not wait. We could not run any water whatsoever; the sewage would've backed up into the house.
Our receipt for the completed repair was not itemized. Based on what was provided, we would not be reimbursed for anything. I was extremely disappointed and am concerned about anything else that might come up. We paid $995 to this company for our warranty when we purchased our home. I will definitely be looking for a different plan in the future and intend to let my real estate agent know this is not a company to refer his customers to.

Thank you very much for the new rating Melinda. We are happy to have worked with you to create resolution. If you need anything else please feel free to reach out.

I have to call back or be on hold for 25 minutes then, walk away and leave the phone there or hang up, try again and do it all over again. It's aggravating. Sometimes, it can take a couple of days before I get through but at least, they're trying. They did some things recently to make it a little better but it's still very slow so that's a big problem. We've renewed our warranty with 2-10 three or four times now because it seemed the easiest path because we had never had a home warranty before and we had a good experience in the first year that we had them. It's been a good investment for us. The most recent claim we filed was with the heat pump we were having a problem with at Christmas time. We called 2-10 and they assigned a local contractor to come and fix it. The wait time was probably 48 hours before the contractor could get out so that was difficult. The contractor fixed the problem but within 30 days, it failed again. They failed to diagnose it being a thermostat problem. I ended up calling somebody who installed the unit for the former owners of the house and they were able to diagnose the problem for me.

When I bought the house it came with a year of 2-10 warranty. I've had them since 2014 and it's been a great experience. One time my heater was making a lot of noise, so I called up and they sent somebody out right away. They told me I had to pay $75 and they would cover the rest. It ended up being something that was loose, so the technician fixed it. He was very professional and he came out the same day in an hour. Also, they've always been really nice on the phone when they call me for renewal. They answered all my questions and I've been happy with them. However, in the beginning I renewed by mail, and if I had done it by phone, I would have gotten the same price for two years. That was the only thing I didn't like.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty came with the purchase of my home. I stuck with them and I renewed three times. My most recent claim was when we had to replace the air conditioning unit and the process was easy. I initially, put the claim online, but this particular one took a long time and there was a lot of back and forth over the phone. But everything else I've done has been online. Their reps were generally quite helpful and interactions with contractors have all been pretty good.
However, the issue with the air conditioning unit was a bit of a hassle. It got caught in between things and it should have been resolved quicker. The bad thing with it was the part that was needed was on back order. I went half the summer in Nashville without an air conditioning unit. It should have been a much more proactive push towards resolution. Instead, it took over a month before they determined that they would never be able to receive the part. At that point, I did a buyout 'cause I needed to get a whole new unit. Other than that, my experience with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty has been generally quite good.

When we bought the house in 2012, the sellers paid for half of 2-10 Warranty and we paid the other half. That was the first year and it was pretty cool and nice. We continued with it over the next 4 years because it really helped us and it's been really good to me. We probably saved $2500 over what we've paid on warranty. We've also increased our protection bit by bit. We got the Supreme protection and a little add on. Then I usually file a claim online and get a call from them within hours, unless it's in middle of the night. In the last two years, we've lost the heat in the middle of the night. One time it was minus 10 outside. The other time wasn't too bad, it's 45. But still, we woke up in the middle of the night and we're freezing. So I bundled up really good and headed back into bed and we got called the next day which was quick.
A lot of times, the contractors who come have been really good and we've only had 3-4 different contractors. Sometimes it's the same, sometimes it's a different one. But I really haven't had any problems with any of them. They're all really nice, pretty knowledgeable, and never left a mess. Even if they had to come back for a maintenance repair afterward sometimes, they don't make a big deal and they're even prompt. Generally, they've been able to fix everything and the guys have been in and out pretty quick. But when they say they can't do it, I have to quickly get somebody else because sometimes they get busy.
A lot in the house was not a hundred percent well taken care of when we bought it since it was older people who had stayed there for two years and so things do happen. Even though things are older, they're pretty fine and the contractors explain what's going on. They let us know how they repair the appliance and how much longer the appliance can go. They also tell us what we can do to avoid the problem next time.
In October, our oven stopped working and we didn't get it fixed until the day after Thanksgiving. But it took over a month for the stove to get fixed because they were looking for the part. The part came in but didn't work, then another part came in but wasn't in the box. It went on and on and on and seemed a little long. Then again the furnace went out in December, on the Thursday before Christmas, but they couldn't get the parts and couldn't fix it until the Monday after. Luckily, it was only about 35 and we have space heaters for the whole weekend to heat the house and keep us warm on Christmas because everybody came over again. But very rare that such happens since nothing takes more than two weeks.
Moreover, 2-10 is responsive. When our 25-year-old dishwasher went bad and started leaking all over the place, I said we want a real simple one to replace it but the rep said they'll get a GE and then showed me the model. I've measured it twice and it would fit in there so they ordered it and it showed up two days later. Then the contractor showed up the next day and we had a new dishwasher. The only funny thing was she asked me if I really wanted to spend my one-appliance-replacement on the dishwasher when my contract was 15 days less of that term. Of course I did since I can only replace one kitchen appliance per year on that term. But that's the only big appliance we've had replaced and so far I had the garage door redone, we had a new heater installed, and had help with the stove and other appliances.
That's why I've been recommending 2-10. When my son bought a house, I told him to get a 2-10 Warranty. He had the seller get him one and then I told him to upgrade to the Supreme protection because that's helped me and he did. I tell everybody about 2-10 because they've done quite a bit. I say that for what I've spent on the warranty and what I've gotten, it's good service. I've looked at other warranties out there but they don't seem to be as good for the money. I've heard a lot of bad things about them too, but I've never had 2-10 say something and then not do it.

Greetings Dan! We are thrilled to hear that you have had such a successful experience with us. Thank you so much for your thorough review and support. We hope to continue providing you quality service for years to come.

When we bought the home that we're living in now, a year of free warranty was included with the purchase. We had to use it that first year and it saved us a lot of money. I called them, although I could do it online, as I prefer to talk to people. I told them what my problem was and they were very prompt. I usually hear from a service person the same day. And usually, the day of or the next day, they're working on my problem. I like 2-10 because I don't have to worry about the charges. I write my one deductible check and I'm done. However, we would like it if the price doesn't go up every year. Aside from that, we're very satisfied with 2-10. And at the end of the year, they sent us a letter asking us if we wanted to renew, which I didn't know would be possible. But based on our experience, we went ahead and renewed and we have every year since then.

2-10 Home Buyers' claim process has been very easy and they've been very responsive. All of their contractors were very positive. When my microwave went out, they came and replaced the part because it wasn't heating. And a little while later, it went out again, exactly the same problem. They must have gotten a bad part so they went through it again but I was not charged the second time. Their rep was very professional and everything was very, very good.

I've had 2-10 since I lived in the house which is for 10 years now. I submit claims online, and it's relatively easy. I just have to tell them what system was affected and put in a few remarks. I had pleasant interactions with the contractors that had come. They got out here in a reasonable amount of time and seemed to know what they were doing. There was a hot water dispenser they removed from the coverage that I would have liked on there but other than that, it was good service from 2-10.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was offered as the warranty on the house when we bought it and we'll have a year of coverage by March. I had to submit two claims and they were very efficient, came out and fixed the problem on the first time, and I was happy. The only other comment I have is they should keep their bookkeeping more up to date, so a person is not confused. I renewed the contract and I kept getting notices and I don't know whether I got a good deal, bad deal or indifference. Other than that, I would recommend them.

Hi there Mildred. Thank you for your feedback. We are excited to hear that your first year with us has been successful. I used to have a different home warranty company but I didn't like it. Everybody was complaining about that one and they're terrible to have. Then one of my friends recommended 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty to me and I've been with them for a couple of years now. I love them as they always take care of me. When I submit a claim, they come on the same day or the next day depending on how busy they are. But when it's an emergency like when my heater didn't work, they came right away.
The claims reps were all helpful and the contractors were really friendly. Some of them have been here a couple of times already like those from Frigidaire who came for my oven, microwave and the heater. They're good and as soon as I call them, they make sure they take care of me. I'm happy with 2-10 and satisfied with their service. Some of my friends got problems with their homes which they see takes a lot of money so I gave them 2-10's number. I also recommended them to my children, neighbor and friend at work because it's good to have that warranty when you own a home.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was referred to my real estate agent some years ago and I've had coverage with them for about six years. So far they've covered what I needed to be covered and the rates are pretty decent. The only thing I didn't like is that you can’t reach a person really quickly, but the good thing about it is you can do it through the system and automatically it generates a claim number. But sometimes it's good to speak to a live person, and they're pretty professional and extra courteous when I speak to them. I will recommend them overall.

The absolute worst service. We had a stove that went out and 15 days later... still not fixed. The reason? The contractor never submitted the paperwork. When I called today the only reason my claim got looked into was because I called. Who knows how long we would have waited for someone to fix this. Talked to three people and no one would offer any help, just said we had to wait for them to find a part. We were told 8 days ago that it would take a max of 4 days to get this resolved. Also the last supervisor spoke with said she would do nothing to speed up the process and acted like I was outrageous for suggesting that. I feel that waiting this long to have our stove fixed is unacceptable and I'm completely shocked at the incompetency of the staff. The complete disregard for the customer is unacceptable. Please don't waste your time.

We want nothing to do with 2-10 Home Warranty and will be looking for coverage elsewhere. The company schemes off its customers and their employees are trained to be uncompromising and vague with their customers. My husband and I closed on a house on 1/17/17 and about two weeks after moving into our house, two out of our three toilets were not working properly. One of which had a leak. Both toilets were in working order when we moved into the house which was well documented in our home inspection. We were relieved when we realized that we had purchased the 2-10 Home Warranty and that based on the promises listed on their website that the toilets would be covered. We called their customer service line to book a contractor and paid the $75 deductible.
The contractor came to the house and said that the toilets would likely need to be replaced. When we were contacted by 2-10's customer service agent they succinctly stated that the toilets would not be covered. The customer service agent rushed through the call, was abrupt, and did not offer any other reasons or solutions to their decision. It was obvious that they were unwilling to work with us. I had to ask the agent if we could send them our Home Inspection report. I was appalled that I even had to ask. I thought for sure they would be on my side and simply ask that we provide additional documentation.
We sent the Home Inspection Report and was then again contacted by a customer service agent who appeared to have no knowledge of our claim. They stated that there was not enough information on the report because the inspector left the toilet fields on the report blank because, at the time of inspection, the toilets were fully operational. The agent was again rude, and quick tempered and unwilling to offer any type of solution. I then had to ask again, if the inspector sent an addendum to the report, if this would make a difference. The customer service agent brushed me off with a "You can try".
I contacted our Home Inspector and he immediately sent an addendum to the report putting his reputation and license on the line for us. He clearly stated that other than a handle being loose on one of the toilets (not even one of the ones in question) they were fully operational and there were not any leaks. He was actually in shock that 2-10 Home Warranty would ignore a leak and question his credibility in diagnosing a leak during the inspection. We heard back from 2-10 Home Warranty today, again their customer service representative was rude and unwilling to offer any solution or compromise. At this point, I just wanted the $75 back that I paid for a man to enter my house in his dirty shoes to tell me that my toilets didn't work. Nothing. Please do not choose this company.

Hi Samantha. We offer our sincerest apologies for the way this claim was handled. We never want our customers to feel frustrated, confused, and disrespected by our representatives. After the denial of a claim for emergency replacement of our water heater and our negative review of 2-10.com, the company reached out to us and made an offer of reimbursement equivalent to what the normal reimbursement would have been had we been able to contact them in advance. We accepted their offer and in our minds, have redeemed themselves. They took into consideration that we had never been advised that we even had a policy and further, that it was a holiday weekend. We thank them for that.
Original Review: Feb. 8, 2017
I am a disabled senior who recently moved into this state. We were unaware that our broker provided a 2-10 warranty included in our closing in December. We had a water heater fail just prior to our having to return north for the holidays and had to have the water heater replaced as quickly as possible before we were planning to leave. We called the broker who gave us the name of the company he uses for plumbing and HVAC repairs, (a company that is used by 2-10 by the way). The unit was over 12 years old and had previously serviced by the prior property owner in October just prior to our temporary rental of the property prior to closing. It then failed after our closing. We had the unit repaired as we could not wait for several days for its replacement due to our schedules.
On our return from the Holidays we talked with our broker (we are realtor. Brokers an another state) who advised us of the 2-10 warranty, a company he uses. We sent the invoice to 2-10 as a claim with a letter of explanation. They gave us a claim # on email after which we never heard from them again. NOTHING until I called day before yesterday when they informed us that the claim had been denied. They said that we could file an appeal. A REPEAT letter of appeal, reiterating our unusual circumstances was sent per their request this morning which they promptly denied, within an hour or so. Now we are talking about a 12 year old failed water heater which, even if we had been aware of the warranty and claims process and had had the time to wait several days to finally get a new one delivered and installed, would have to have been authorized by them in any event, but has been refused by 2-10.
In other words they are engaged in a dodge. They did not even offer partial compensation. NO CALL! NO DISCUSSION!! We are more than a little upset with their attitude, performance, professionalism and total lack of compassion or consideration. As professionals ourselves, we could never recommend 2-10 to associates, clients, family, friends or neighbors based on this episode. Not only can we not trust 2-10, but, because of their shoddy performance, which is very atypical of professionals in this area, (we have found contractors here to be beyond helpful in every way) we would have to be wary of any contractor that 2-10 would send to our home for fear that they would also be prone to and pressured by 2-10 to cut corners and stick it to the customer to save a buck.

Hi there G A. We are disappointed to hear about your experience with us. We are going to have our customer experience team reexamine your claim. We apologize if you felt slighted, disrespected, or brushed off by us. We never want our customers to feel as if they are not being heard. Thank you for your feedback.

We had some small issues that occurred and they took care of it right away. The only thing is that it took them forever to get the light bulb put in for my microwave. They had replaced the microwave with a new unit which isn't a very good one and the bulb burns out every three months. But the reps have always been really nice and helpful. When we went to sell our previous house, our Realtor procured a 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty on our existing house to make sure things that cropped up got fixed. We had to exercise that and we were happy. We also took advantage of the opportunity to procure them too on the new house when we bought it and we've been really grateful for that. When our hot water heater decided it was done with life and sprung a substantial leak, they took care of it and it wasn't a hassle. There was good value there and I have taken advantage of it over the five years that we've been in the house.
Mostly I've been just going to 2-10's webpage and opening a claim that way but their claims reps have been helpful when I've had to talk to them and did what they can to make the problem better. Their contractors were fine except for one that didn't go well where the guy came out and said he was not going to work on the issue. 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty doesn't cover anything that it's supposed to cover. They couldn't come out and fix the little tag in my oven that was worn-off where the number was. Instead of sending somebody out, they just flat out said they couldn't do it. So, we had to fix it ourselves and it cost us almost $400 to have a plumbing problem fixed because they didn't cover it. So, it's the biggest rip-off. I would not recommend it to anybody who is buying a house nor selling a house because all they're doing is wasting their money.
When we called about the plumbing, their reps said they would contact a plumber but we didn't hear from that plumber for two days. We called back and they finally sent a plumber out and he tried to unstuck the clog, but he didn't have the right equipment. So, he said to call 2-10 back and they'll send somebody out that needs to come out here. It wouldn't have cost us that $100 fee. So, we got ripped off for the money we had to put out to supposedly cover this fee and nothing was done. And, we had to put another $250 out of our pocket to go to Roto-Rooter to come and fix our problem. We're very dissatisfied overall. I wouldn't call them again even if my life depended on it.

Ten days ago, my heat pump made this grating sound and started emitting a burning smell. After inspection, my fiancé (an ex-firefighter) determined that it was unsafe to run due to risk of fire. I called 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty immediately after this and set up a service request. I will say up front that their phone lines have been staffed by very courteous people--good job there. However, that is where the accolades end.
The 2-10 rep said that the contractor they chose would call me on Monday (it was Saturday) to set up an appointment. It is winter, so I decided to leave a message for the contractor to get the ball rolling. The contractor actually called me that evening telling me that they were booked solid for two weeks and to call 2-10 back. I did so. 2-10 dispatched a different contractor. I left a message for this contractor.
The new contractor called me back that Monday to schedule a diagnosis. He was very slow to respond to calls--we played phone tag a lot. He made an appointment for Tuesday but failed to show, calling at 7pm that evening saying he was sick. I was understanding despite my disappointment--things happen. I saw him Wednesday evening and he told me my heat pump needed a new part but the age of my system would make it virtually impossible to find. He recommended a new system. He was friendly but despite his promise to get moving, I did not hear from him the next morning as promised. I waited until Friday morning to call and left a message. He responded that evening around 4:30 saying they couldn't find the part and would submit paperwork. But not till Monday. This is from a contractor that says he has been working with 2-10 for twenty years.
It is now Tuesday and I've heard from no one. I called on Sunday to see if something could be done and the rep said he called several contractors to see if someone else could handle it. He also said he left a message for the current contractor. He said that I should hear from someone on Monday, Tuesday morning at the latest. He said that he put my file in the manager's special interest pile to get it moving quickly.
I have been so patient. I know this time of year is busy for contractors. But 10 days? My pipes might freeze tonight because it's so cold. This evening I called 2-10 when I got off work and complained. They said they would make sure to take care of it right away and if I didn't hear from someone by tomorrow afternoon I should call them back.
That response ended it for me. I called another contractor of my own choice and after hearing what happened, came out this evening and are installing a new heat pump tomorrow morning. They are also going to look at my hot water heater which stopped working on Tuesday of last week. 2-10 handled that one by sending in a contractor that handled it in a timely manner. Except the hot water heater stopped functioning again two days later. I called 2-10 back about it and again have been waiting for a call that has yet to come. And I might have to pay the service fee again.
I am very disappointed in 2-10. I feel like I have paid my annual fees and my service fees for nothing but extra work and strife on my end. I feel like the very polite phone reps did not actually do anything to hustle things along and that the contractors they have employed are not very professional nor do they seem to want my business. I am not one to complain unnecessarily. I have been waiting so patiently to be warm in my house and to have hot water, things I thought I paid to have taken care of. I had to say something here because I find this level of apathy from a company unacceptable.

Hi there Sarah. This is a very disappointing experience. I am going to send your property address to someone in our customer experience department so they can thoroughly examine your claim and reach out to you. Thank you for your very honest feedback.

After our heat went out we called them and had a contractor come out. They took 5 days after deeming it an emergency to get back with us with any answers. I had to call everyday and everyday they would give us a runaround about waiting for something else. Then finally they call us the 5th day and tell us everything is all set to go and the contractor would be out to fix our furnace. Well lo and behold the 6th day we call the contractor to see when they will be here and they tell us it was denied.
Call 2/10 and they tell us our furnace has been out longer than we said and denied our claim. We had a lapse in our coverage but was covered when the furnace went out. Instead of telling us the first day they made us wait even longer to think we were getting our furnace fixed. Needless to say we took our service elsewhere.

Hi None. We are disappointed to hear that this was your experience. We are very sorry for the way your claim played out. Thank you for your feedback and we hope to use this information to improve.

I've always had a home warranty with a different company, but I really like 2-10 and I've been very pleased with them. Submitting a claim online is very simple. I just log in to my account which is really easy. I open the service request saying what's wrong, and then immediately they give me a confirmation of the contractor that will be calling me. So, I already have the contractor's name and phone number which is nice. Also, the contractors have all been pretty professional and it's been a good experience. They show up on time and do the work.

Hi Bobbi. We delighted to hear that you have had an easy time submitting a claim. Thank you for your continued business and support.

We purchased 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty when we bought our home in 2009 and have kept it up every year. Every time that we had to use them, it's been easy to get through and to get somebody out here in a timely manner. We also like the companies that they've used to do the service that was required. We'll keep it as long as we can continue to afford it but if anything starts happening and it doesn't cover certain things, we would just not get it from then on.
Submitting a claim was very easy and simple. After we purchased the plans, they gave little paper cards and I kept one in my wallet and one with the important papers. If I need the service, I just go to that little card, call the number, let them know what's going on and they give me all the information that's required to get a service company out here including a phone number. Their claim reps have always been kind, courteous and very easy to talk to. They take down all of the questions that I have and get right back to me with any information that I might need so my interaction with them has been perfect.
Everything has been good with their contractors. They usually give me a call within a day or two, or if I need them sooner. There's only been one time though where they were able to expedite coming out quicker than what was originally planned because it was winter and cold and we didn't have any heat. So, we've never had any problem with the company that they've used. They've always been very good.

Hi Carlene. We are thrilled to hear that you have had no issues with coverage or submitting a claim thus far. We hope to continue providing you with high quality service. Thank you for your review.

I purchased 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty when we bought our home. In the 10 weeks that we've been covered, our experience in submitting a claim has been fine. We did it over the phone and it's been easy. Their reps were friendly and my questions were answered. Their contractor was professional and he did a great job. Overall, 2-10 was able to get professionals to fix my furnace in the middle of winter and they did it promptly.

Thank you very much for the review Deb. We are delighted to hear that this process has been easy going for you. We hope to continue providing you with quality service.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty came with the house that we bought. We just got the renewal in the mail and we’re thinking about renewing. We usually submit claims online. We hear back very quickly from whoever they contact to send out. We make an appointment and the service contractors show up and they order the parts and then they come and fix the issue. We had a problem with our AC, which was a big ticket item and we forgot about having the home warranty, so we did not get reimbursed.

Hi there Anya. We are very happy to hear that service with us has been quick and easy. We hope you renew with us and we thank you for the review.

I understand that every has their own experiences and I can only speak for myself. When you hear "Warranty" to an extent you feel secured knowing that you will be covered for whatever comes your way. Exactly what I had in mind when I agreed to buy a home warranty from 2-10. Everything went to ** when things got real and I happened to need their services to fix my water heater problem. No hot water was coming out of our water sources. They send in a plumber at first to try and fix my water heater and so you know every time they send a contractor to you they charge you $100 for service fee. So the plumber came by and said that it was not a plumbing issue but an electrical problem, took my $100 and left. Then 2-10 fetch in an electrician and to my surprise electrician said it’s not an electrical problem but a plumbing problem. At this point I already spent $200 and get nothing back.
The process goes on and 2-10 sent in a plumber again and again the plumber check the water heater and said that it is an electrical problem and left with my $100. I was getting frustrated at this point because I don’t know what is going on and I keep on wasting $100 for nothing. Again I called 2-10 to report the problem and every time I call them they keep on saying different things like dealing with them for the first time. I asked for them to send a electrician because they keep on sending plumber every time and after 30 mins of explaining myself they finally let me have it my way and send in an electrician.
The electrician finally came in and diagnosed the problem in 30 mins. He report it back to 2-10 and 2-10 denied the claim because they said it was not covered due to faulty installation to begin with. So after spending 400 just for them to denied me I went ahead and hired an electrician to fix my problem. I got charge $181 and everything was fixed. I know it was long story but to keep it simple do not waste your time and money dealing with 2-10.

I've had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for at least eight years. We've submitted a few claims and I've had some ups and downs. I had one claim that I had issues getting checked. I kept on contacting 2-10 and they said they'd get back to me and didn't. It took about a year and a half to finally get the claim from them. They also have a bit of an issue about selecting who to send to your home. Sometimes the contractors respond very often and sometimes they take five days before you hear from them.
2-10 also might not know where the closest contractor is. They got a pool contractor that was 85 miles away when I could have contracted one that was 5 miles down the road. So I've just learned now to tell them I'm looking for a contractor within 10 kilometers or 10 miles. They give me the names of everyone they have in the area and I tell which one is the closest and which one to select. But apart from that, the other experiences I've had have been fine. It has been fairly easy to work with 2-10.

Hi there Ian. We are happy to hear that you have had a generally positive experience and we hope to continue providing quality service. Thank you for your feedback especially around the availability of contractors in your region. We will take note of what we can do to improve.

We've only used 2-10 Home Buyers once for the garage door, and they gave us the number to call for the repair people. However, the hold time was ridiculously long. The contractor had to call the warranty company too to make sure that the part was under warranty. They were also on hold for an hour and a half trying to get approval. But did what they needed to do.

Greetings Denise. We are pleased to hear that you have had a successful experience with us so far. We appreciate your feedback in regards to our hold times. Thank you for the review.

My agent and my buyer's agent seemed to recommend 2-10 and they were both experienced agents, so I went with 2-10. During the claim process, I have to call because every time I try to register online, it doesn’t recognize my account. So every time I do the claim, I call and I get a response pretty rapidly. Usually, the service is within 24 hours if it's something that’s rather drastic. If it's not, that could wait a few days, but they do a good job prioritizing. I had a claim that ended up not being covered by them, but the fix was so trivial. The guy took the service on our co-pay which was fine.

Hi there George. We are glad to hear that you have had a successful experience with us. We are going to send your review to someone in our department to see if we can fix your online account. Thank you for your feedback and support.

When I bought a house in 2008, one of the real estate folks mentioned about 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. I had no problems filing a claim with them and it's all been very easy and quick. My wife was usually the one there when their service contractor came and she was happy and never complained so I'm good. The claims weren't anything really big, just odds and ends. One time it was for the air conditioner, for the washer, and for the dryer. They came out, fixed it and it was no big deal.

The real estate agent recommended 2-10 when we purchased the house. We have submitted a claim for a small plumbing issue and the contractor was great. It was late in the day but they came out and took care of it, and I'm very satisfied with that. The only thing I wasn't happy about was everything was automated. It would have been nice to speak to someone because that's what I wanted.

Hi there Alexander. We are very happy to hear that you have had a great experience with us. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope to continue providing you with quality service.
