Panasonic viera not powering up after power cut. Contacted Panasonic service centre and informed them of the problem three times now. And the only thing they say is it is not a common fault...mmm! Then suggested call their dealers for repairs and pay the cost myself which would cost me £200. To say this is p*ss poor service is being polite. The EU laws state that five years is a reasonable length of life for a new TV. My TV is only two and a half years old. Anyone out in the cyber world can help! I would be ever so thankful.

I have a Panasonic Viera television for a little more than a year and have a problem with it. When it is unplugged or a power outage it takes up to 2 weeks to come back on. I thought it was an isolated problem, but I see it is not. Called customer service, talked to them and when they found out that I had it for more than a year, they wanted to charge me a fee of $9.00. Purchased a 42" Panasonic TC-P42X5 TC-P50X5 from Walmart. 2012. After the first 8 months the TV spontaneously would cut off, and would not come back on for days. Contacted Panasonic, and the first technician told me he was going to send a signal. Nothing happened. I called again, and was told by another technician that that was not a true statement, no signals could be sent. The problem still happens periodically.

We have had our Panasonic Viera Plasma TV for about 2 years. If something happens and gets disconnected from power or have a power outage, the TV won't come on. We have to unplug it and wait for a couple of days before it comes on. I have talked with Panasonic Support and they act as if they have never had a complaint regarding this problem. I have read that they are not going to manufacture any more TVs. It is a good thing, they need to do something about the problems with this TV. Use to think Panasonic was a good brand, but have bought telephones that suck, and now the TV. Will think more than twice about buying the Panasonic brand of anything.

I bought a Panasonic flatscreen, and it's awful. It claims to have a USB and a SD card reader, but they don't work. For example, it won't read .avi files nor .mp4 files, which are two of the most common movie files. If you want a T.V. that does everything it claims it does, Panasonic isn't the way to go.

After just three years, my beloved television (P55GT30 Plasma TV) and high regard for the Panasonic company died and fell from grace in a single afternoon. With no warning, the television turned off and did not respond to any inputs. After disconnecting and reconnecting, it produced 7 lights-paused-and repeated 7 lights. After arming ourselves with Internet research, the customer service rep discounted our assertions that this was a known problem, instead telling me "nothing has been proven". We got the same recommended course of action from Panasonic: find a repairman, fix it, and we'll consider paying some of it...maybe. I don't want to go through the rigmarole of diagnosing, paying, fixing, and then having it all break a few months down the road. See you Panasonic...never again.

Panasonic referred me to a local repair servicer who would charge me $110 just to troubleshoot the TV. If the sc board is the problem, Panasonic would take it under advisement as to how much they would be willing to pay. Either way, I have to pay the $110 out of pocket. Panasonic knows this part is an issue, they should just offer to replace it gratis. To show just how common this issue is, I am going to send my SC board to a repair service on EBAY! Panasonic is glad to tell me who would be willing to fix this but it is not under warranty - so I'd get stuck with the cost on something that is almost new? Panasonic should be ashamed of themselves. I purchased a Panasonic TV late 2012 from Costco. It now has gone dead and by researching the death blinks, (as the internet called them) it seems that it is due to a faulty SS board. I called Panasonic for troubleshooting and they told me to proceed with their help, I had to pay ten dollars. What. As if they do not have enough money. I refused. I then enlisted the help of the internet where I was told perhaps two thing were wrong. The main board, or the SS board. I tried the main board first, purchased it and it was not the problem. Then I learned that eight blinks meant SS board. I tried to find one but everyone is out. Which means it is a REALLY big problem. Panasonic wants $187.00 for a new one. But I found another company, Modus to fix it for 46.00 - I am going to try that. Tutorials on U tube also help. There needs to be a class action suit started. What about old people on a fixed income that do not have internet available. And how many tv's are being thrown out. Shame on them....

I wrote this to Panasonic Consumer affairs back in October 2014. Their reply was to offer 1/2 of the cost for repair, after this being the second repair in less than two years. As of today, Dec 1, no parts, no repair and no estimated date for arrival of parts in the US. This television was purchased from Amazon in December 2012. It required service from Panasonic in January 2014 about one year old. The problem was diagnosed as a known product defect on the ST Board along with the screw set. These have been replaced by S&S Electronics, Chattanooga, TN.

In speaking with S&S today I was advised that because of the 8 blinking red lights on the TV, the same circuit and problem has recurred. Now we have a second problem for the same issue. This set is less than two years old. This is a LEMON and should be replaced in good faith by Panasonic. Who is to say that when repaired, it will happen again? I have attached an evaluation of the problem by S&S Electronic for your review with an estimated cost of way over $400.

Since Panasonic is aware of the recurring problem, and this is the second time in less than two years, I feel this should be replaced as a known lemon. And as a former Panasonic employee, I have always felt that our products were some of the best quality built in the industry. This set has me concerned. According to my servicer, this part number TXNSSITFUU is NOT AVAILABLE and with no estimated time of arrival. This means I could wait forever.

The second issue with this issue is that Panasonic out of the Plasma business, and with this part needed unavailable, what am I to do? I am a senior on fixed income and this is our main source of entertainment. Thank you for your prompt response.

Why no recall yet by Panasonic? This is very well documented as a bad part. As evident with a 6-week back order on getting this part in. I have spent $100 on a service call, I will spend $200.00 on labor to replace part. $150.00 in cable programming that I can not use right now. Panasonic is paying for part only. Panasonic should pay for labor and service call also. This is the right thing to do by a company wanting to compete with the big boys, Sony and Samsung. Panasonic will continue to be a 3rd or 4th choice with customer service and putting out a product like this. I am going back to Sony.

Their customer service stinks. I will never buy anything made by Panasonic or any of their affiliates again. I hope there's a class action suit in the works.

Viera 55" Plasma TV TC-P55GT31 - I loved the picture on this tv, BUT 14 months after buying this it went black with the 7 blink code. I called Panasonic and they said it was out of warranty but started a repair ticket and gave me the number of a local repair man. I called and he said that it would be $95.00 to come and look at it. (IT'S BLACK WITH A 7 BLINK CODE, WHAT IS TO LOOK AT?) I researched it and looked on YouTube and found that it was a board that commonly goes bad. I called Panasonic and asked to purchase the board and they said NO!!!! I was not a certified repairman even though I am out of warranty. I looked everywhere and found the board for the same price from a vendor in Salinas with a $250.00 core charge BUT they said that Panasonic had 150 boards in stock but they had over 200 on requisite and it would be 4 to 6 weeks. I received the new board and replaced it and all is good again.

Panasonic has the worst customer care and doesn't back up the products. I believe that they must get a kickback from the repair companies. Unfortunate that they make a great TV that only last for a little over a year. I have had Samsung and never had and problems. If you value your money and the products that you buy NEVER BUY A PANASONIC TV UNLESS you just want to throw your money away. This item has to be a recall for them to have that many boards in stock and yet on back order only being 14 months old. I truly hope KARMA finds Panasonic like it did Chevy and puts them in federal court because if it weren't for us the consumers they will fold up and die, like so many of us that bought them hope they do.

I saw on internet and in a script that it is a second generation of Plasma which has a 100, 000 hours working warranty. 2 weeks ago I noticed a vertical green thin line on my plasma. A few days later that line become thick black, about 8 cm wide from the top to the bottom. Please tell me where can I ask why does that happened. I am a customer who strongly believed in Panasonic. Almost every component I use at home or professionally is Panasonic, and now this happened. It is really disappointing. I cannot watch TV and I am really confused about what to do, either to look for a new TV or not, what brand should be my new TV. Thank You in advance.

A few months, maybe 6, we had to unplug the tv to clean. We plugged it back up and it would not turn on for 3 days. No blinks, flashes, power up sounds, nothing. About 7-8 months later, we had a thunderstorm, our power went out and once again it would not turn on for 3 days. Now, almost 2 years after we had another bad storm two days ago and our tv has yet to come on. Each time we have had this issue, we have called Panasonic and they have been NO HELP!!! Even when we first had this problem at 6 months in, they said they could not do anything but refer us to a repair shop that was almost 70 miles away even though we were still under our 1 year warranty.

Now we're almost 2 years in and they won't even help us troubleshoot over the phone unless we pay them a $10 fee. Are you kidding me? You want me to pay you $10 so you can tell me to unplug my tv and try it in another outlet even though we have already done that. Panasonic is a joke. Panasonic may make fine TVs but if you have plans to use Tivo with one and want to use the Tivo remote control solely, you might want to reconsider purchasing a Panasonic TV. My mother has a Panasonic flat screen TV, model # TC-L37D2, that was purchased in 2006. She recently wanted to connect a Tivo Roamio DVR recorder to it and then use just one remote control for both devices. This is an easy thing to do as long as the user has the IR Code (infra-red code) for the TV. Tivo has many of these codes loaded on its software program but were missing one for this Panasonic TV.

My mother was requested to contact Panasonic Customer Service to get it but they claimed not to have it. Tivo tells me that by law, Panasonic is required to give it to its customers. I called Panasonic Customer Service on 7/23/14 (ref # **) and tried with two different representatives to get it but was also told no. I asked to speak with a supervisor but both times was put on hold for 20+ min. and ultimately told they were too busy and to call back later. Summary: Panasonic TC-P50UT50 had 3 warranty repairs relating to TV not powering on during first 9 months. Each time, it was a different issue. 2 months after warranty expired, the issue returned.

Process: I contacted customer service. They told me I could pay for a tech to come out and diagnose the issue and provide a repair estimate. They would review the issue and determine if they would provide any assistance even though they are under no obligation since the warranty was expired. I paid for the diagnosis, sent in my paperwork, and didn't hear anything. After a week, I filed a claim with the NJ BBB. This started the ball moving. I was contacted the next day. I spend the next few weeks going back and forth with paperwork, pictures, work orders, etc. The process was long, but communication from Panasonic was frequent.

Result: Panasonic bought my TV back from me. They sent a courier to get the TV. Once pick-up was confirmed, they processed my refund for the full purchase price.

Advice: Be professional. I did not get angry with anyone I dealt with. I presented the facts and was always courteous in my communication. Be clear. I provided two acceptable resolutions, a replacement TV or a full refund. Be patient. This has taken more than 2-months, including more than 2 weeks to receive the refund check once the TV was picked up.

Much like everyone else, I am extremely frustrated with Panasonic and its televisions. I purchased a new 50" plasma television, Model # TC-P50u50, in January of 2013. After a full 18 months of use, the television will no longer power on, instead I am greeted with a red light that blinks 7 times - pauses - and then blinks in the pattern again. I have come to learn that this is pretty much the "death" of the television. Sure, it can be repaired for a mere $400, but what's the sense when the repair cost is worth more than the TV at this point?

After contacting Panasonic, I was informed that the warranty on the television is one year. I can see why it's only a year after reading all the reviews. It seems predominant that between years 1 and 2 several of the "blinking light" issues take place. So, I can expect an $800 Panasonic TV to give me a whole 18 months of viewing pleasure before shelling out another $800? What a bargain!

After speaking with the Panasonic rep and reiterating my displeasure, I was proposed an offer. I can pay the $85 for a diagnostic, have a formalized quote made up for the cost of the repair and then Panasonic will "review" the cost a possible offer some compensation. This makes me feel better? I now have to spend $85 to potentially get some relief on a hefty repair bill of which the difference may not equal the value of the tv. Panasonic, if you truly stand by your "durability" as a company, why not repair the issue at hand free of charge when it's known to be a problem? Do what I did, simply google "red blinking light on my Panasonic television" and notice all the hits and discontent that are found.

In April my PANASONIC TC-L55E50 stopped working. The TV wouldn't turn on at all. I had purchased it 18 months ago from Sears. I called Panasonic and they referred me to an authorized repair store. Panasonic explained to me the process of what to do if there would be any cost covered by the company. The warranty was 8 months over the 1 year covered by company. I had explained to them that the TV didn't turn on after our electricity had went out the night before. I went to turn on the TV and there was no power; it would not turn on. (All three other TV’s we had, which included 1 Sony Bravia/7 years old, all worked.)

I took the TV to National Electronics in Texarkana, Texas. This is where things get odd. When I entered the business TV’s were everywhere in the floor. They explained to me that they had just moved into the building which is a business called Sound Town. As I got to looking at all the TV’s on the floor, I noticed that there were a few just like mine. When I got home I Googled Panasonic TV complaints and noticed that there was hundreds and hundreds of other consumers having the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. Then I realized that Panasonic had made a faulty product!! Instead of doing the right thing and recalling and fixing the TV, they were doing damage control. Just like GM. It would be cheaper to deal with the problem than to make a recall. I was told by the company that was fixing the TV that it was a power board and basically would take $300 to fix.

I emailed all info to Panasonic. I was contacted the soon after and was told that only about $100 would be covered. I told Panasonic everything that I knew and soon after it was agreed upon to split cost. The company fixing the TV never called me once to let me know when TV was fixed. I finally went by and they said it would be ready the next day. I went by the next day and the TV was on but had hundreds of lines running through it. Needless to say I was disappointed!! Sound Town didn't say anything at first. When I first said something about the lines, one person said you can't really notice it to bad further away. I told them that I wanted it fixed.

I contacted Panasonic and they told me to have the authorized dealer send me a quote on the cost of fixing the problem. I forwarded everything to Panasonic that I had received. Based on everything I asked Panasonic for an extreme discount on a new TV. They offered me a 10% discount on a particular model. Best Buy had the same model. Cheaper than what Panasonic was offering. That ought to let everyone know EXACTLY HOW PANASONIC DOES BUSINESS!!!

In June 2012, I purchased a 50 inch Panasonic Viera Plasma TV, model number P50U50. I researched LCD, LED and Plasma televisions for six months. Admittedly, Plasma was not my first choice; however, after speaking with tech geeks at Sears and Best Buy, I decided to purchase a Plasma. They described how as a BluRay movie aficionado, I would love the true and rich colors. They also reassured me that Plasma was not old technology and specifically that your company, Panasonic, was doing the best job in this area. Several positive consumer report reviews later and I felt confident in my choice. Over the course of one year and ten months I thoroughly enjoyed your tv.

The picture quality was excellent and I found myself to be a spokeswoman for your product telling friends and family, it was in fact a Plasma. Unfortunately, I can no longer say another positive thing about your product as I am faced with having to put your tv out by the curb or spend more to fix it than it is worth. Without warning this week, it would not power on and the indicator light began blinking. I have read that this blinking light is the kiss of death and is the result of a faulty power connector or some type of circuit blowing. I am not technician, just a movie lover who raved about your tv and anticipated it having a long life.

I spoke to a customer service representative who, though not impolite, was certainly not helpful. She claimed my model year was durable because improvements had been made since your company's 2007 fiasco. Apparently, we have different definitions of durable because under normal use I would expect your television to last more than two years. Further, your customer service representative explained that it was a known problem but not predominant enough in my model year to receive full compensation. The repairs could be exorbitant she advised. I am unable to rationalize how this flaw, this bad batch, is my problem or my financial burden, when I was unlucky enough to receive a defective part.

Your one year warranty is exceedingly disappointing as it protects your company and not your consumer. It is a gross misrepresentation of your sales pitch about quality and durability, when a company does not stand behind its product nor expect it to last more than twenty three months. In June 2012, when I was walking around the store showroom I would have appreciated a buyer beware sticker on it that read: One to two year life expectancy max. Please be advised, Panasonic does not stand behind its product. Due to online sites devoted to Panasonic consumer complaints and class action lawsuits, you should seriously consider a SONY or SAMSUNG. If it had said this, I would have passed and so would every other customer. Hardworking consumers have a right to know their money would be better spent on a different brand. Sincerely Dissatisfied.

The authorized person is not interested to repair my TV. He says that "this is old model, now there is only LCD tv's in market so the company doesn't supply CRT TV components". I am helpless. The above TV is kept in the service center till now. Then I send a mail in your helpline id on 29.3.2014, but there is no response. I thought that your company may be an International company and keep promises and standards. It is very shameful approach and response from you. KEEP IT UP.

I was standing 20 feet from my TV when it made an explosive popping noise shocking me and getting my attention. I saw it go black and it has been dead ever since. That was March 17, 2014. This TV is 4 months old. This is well within the warranty period. It took 7 phone calls and 2 escalations and 8 hours to even get a technician out to our house. Now they are denying coverage still because they don't see a prima facie reason… Well, I see that as the exact reason why an exploding TV that goes dead would be covered under a warranty, NOT the reason to deny coverage. We buy their TV and hand over $2500 in good faith, and they meet that with a bad faith denial of the warranty they purport to offer. At this point we are at a loss for $2,500.00 and no TV since March 17, 2014.

I bought a new Panasonic TC-P50U50, 50" plasma TV, last March (2013), and in January of 2014 it quit working. I called Panasonic and they told me it was a 2012 model and I needed to have the receipt for them to help me. I couldn't find it, and still can't. They told me they wouldn't help me without a receipt. I went online to see if there was any way I could fix it myself and found MANY complaints of exactly the same model and issue I had: TV flashes, then the screen goes dark and the little red LED on front blinks 8 times. When I contacted a repair place, they told me which board was faulty and that Panasonic doesn't even make that board anymore, they've replaced it with a newer version, likely a more reliable version because they know it was no good.

I believe Panasonic knows this model is faulty and doesn't want to fix their TVs because it would cost them too much, but why should consumers have to pay? If you pay $500 or more for a TV it should last at least a couple of years! I contacted the Better Business Bureau and complained and I was contacted by Sylvia ** from Panasonic who told me if I could get her a copy of my credit card statement with the purchase, it would be sufficient. I did so, paid the fee to the bank and emailed it to her, but then she told me since it didn't have the model number listed, they wouldn't honor it. Because Panasonic contacted me back and I don't have my receipt, the BBB closed the complaint and won't pursue it further. Since the BBB closed the complaint, Sylvia has not replied to my subsequent emails. Regardless of that, this is a substandard TV and Panasonic should be held responsible!

It works for a couple of days or so but then like I said shuts down for 3 days without working. Thanks to my sister I decided not to purchase a Panasonic tv, instead got a Samsung tv. PLASMA TCP 65 VT30 7 BLINKS OF DEATH - Like thousands out there having issues with Panasonic TV line up, I’m just another one in the same boat. Got mine June 2011 and die Nov. 2013; it lasted 28 months which by the complaints online, is actually a bit better than others that die within months or less than a year. I invested a decent amount of money 3800 bucks on the unit itself and 700 bucks for an extended warranty on my unit, since I thought, it was going to be the best "PROVEN" technology out there at the time. Oh boy, I was wrong. After reading complaint after complaint online, I realized that, this was just another example of quality negligence and untested defective products put on the market by big brands.

Then, I remembered back when I was in the university, this Marketing teacher, he was rambling something about a business strategy, that uses clients’ money to test their products without them investing a dime, whereas, if they did, it will inevitably affect profits and deplete their manufacturing and production capital; and this was almost 20 years ago. The basics are simple, as far as technology goes; they need to restock the market shelves year after year with consumer products in order to stay afloat financially.

But the problem lies on the fact that, there is not enough time to test so many changes at the same time, where they try to keep up with production goals and profit margins plus competition. Then the solution is simple, facelift what you have using what was working in the last batch with less complaints - a little twitching here and there, then few new add-ons and voila! There you have your new top of the line TV, computer, phone or whatever is in the list.

Next step, thanks to the marketing hype and speculation (yes, requires investment but still, money from consumers tilt the balance to their advantage) then consumers swarm in and buy up these products thanks to reviews mostly. Sooner than later they begin to experience all the problems associated with a product that lacks proper quality control which demands testing. Their testing most likely is - oh, it turned on, then they proceed to stamp the approved sticker, and out it goes.

Anyway, when things start to go south, companies record all the failures and complaints regarding any particular product and based on that, they keep if works, or discontinue a product that has been in the market for 2 years, take the best of it. Here comes the twitching and add-ons, and launch the next top of the line flagship best in class product - here cycle repeats. So, pretty much, we buy their products to test them, and we carry all the liability. They stay on top because they do not pocket out the money to put a reliable product in the market.

If you analyse these premises, you cannot actually be mad at them or complain much since this is the way businesses work. They are out there to make money, not to be charitable. However, if they make some people happy, so be it. If not it is also ok; they care about their money that’s for sure. By the way, if you have an extended warranty, don't hold your breath. After 2 months they finally got the parts USED not even new. They did not work. Then they decided to buy out the TV. I had less than 200 hours on it and what I had was 2000 bucks? Remember I paid 700 for the warranty.

So in reality I ended up with 1300 bucks. Even with the 2000 I can’t buy anything that resembles the features of this TV. So even if you have the warranty that does not mean you will be satisfied with the final results. At this point, is up to you if you want to buy or not but be warned that this scenario is likely going to happen sooner or later so be prepared to deal with it. And remember, never ever expect them to do anything for you.

We purchased a 42 Panasonic Plasma TV in July 2012. We lost power in December 2012 and the TV would not turn on using the remote once power was restored. My son was able to turn it on using the button on the back of the TV. The TV worked fine until I accidentally unplugged it and it wouldn't turn back on. We contacted Panasonic and took it to a local repairman for warranty service. It was there for approximately one month because the part wasn't available. (Apparently, this is a common problem with this TV). Finally got the TV back and it worked fine. Lost power again and same problem occurred. Panasonic approved another warranty service but I decided not to take it in when the TV turned on after being off for four days.

I kick myself for not taking it to the shop but since it was working, what was I going to say? It wasn't working yesterday? We lost power due to an accident in November 2013 and once again, the TV would not turn on after. I called Panasonic and they told me that they would NOT cover any repair on this TV. I asked to speak with a manager and he told me the same thing. Panasonic used to be a quality company but I don't think that is the case now. When I went online and complained, they told me to take it to a service center and send them the documentation and they may pay for the repairs. The TV was sitting in my daughter's room and my son was able to turn it on after four days.

This is the craziest thing I have ever seen in my life. Why does it need four days to rest? I live in Maine and Maine has an Implied Warranty Law where a product is supposed to last a certain period of time. TVs are supposed to last at least four years. I will be sending Panasonic and Sears the letter supplied by the State of Maine and we'll see what happens, because once again we lost power due to the ice storm over Christmas and my TV is now sitting on floor in my daughter's room and will not turn on.

Everything was well until 4/1/13 when the same thing happened. I called Panasonic and again a repair visit was made. This morning, 12/21/13, discovered the same problem!!!! Called Panasonic this morning and was told, "Sorry ma'am, it is not under warranty. There is nothing that can be done." I proceeded to ask the representative if Panasonic was still producing a plasma TV, because I read on the net that they discontinued the plasma. Hmmm, sounds a little curious that they would discontinue making them.

I truly believe Panasonic knew they were making a defective product but still put it on the market to get that almighty dollar!!! Needless to say, after spending $873.79 on my TV that lasted approximately 1 year and 8 months, I'm very upset and will NEVER buy another Panasonic product again!!! On June 2, 2012 I purchased a brand new Panasonic television, model number shown above. On August 10, 2013, after being on about 1 hour, I came back into my living room to find the television off. I figured like normal perhaps it had timed out and shut itself off due to no activity. I grabbed the remote and proceeded to turn it on when I heard a click and nothing occurred. I noticed that there was a red button blinking 7 times. Trying to troubleshoot myself, I plugged the television up to a different power source with still no success. After my failed attempt I left the television unplugged for a few days. I then tried again a few days later and still no luck but the television still displayed the 7 blinks of the red light. I figured I would call Panasonic directly to see if they could assist.

On Tuesday August 12, 2013, I called Panasonic directly to assist with troubleshooting. The rep told me that if the product was out of warranty then there would be a $9.95 charge for one troubleshooting call and so on and so forth as the price climbed for more troubleshooting calls. The rep asked me if I had tried another power source or unplugged the television in which I had responded to him that I had already tried that. I told him that I was looking to see what the 7 blinks indicated. He said that he could not assist me but that he could give me the number to a service center that could come out to assist. Stereo Component Service.

On August 13, 2013, I contacted Stereo Component Service in Braintree, Mass at the direction of Panasonic. I made an appointment for August 16, 2013 between 9-11am for a service technician to evaluate. At about 9:45am a gentleman named Frank arrived from SCS. At the request of the Panasonic field rep, Frank came equipped with a flashlight and immediately began looking into the screen. Frank mentioned that he had picked up a 50 inch television identical to mine the prior day that had the same exact problem. I questioned Frank as to what exactly is the problem and he told me the television's panel is gone and that the part cost more than I paid for the television. Frank placed a call to a man named Jason, I believe at Panasonic, where he explained, in front of me, that he believe that there was a defect in these Panasonic television panels. He continued to explain to the guy that like the other television he brought into the shop the prior day, my television shows absolutely no signs of physical damage, yet right where the panel is the screen has a small spider crack from the inside not the outside.

Frank was instructed to bring my television into the SCS shop for further review. Frank explained that he could not because my television was way too big and he had no room in the car for it. Frank was instructed to take pictures and send them to Panasonic, in which he did and charged me $85.00. $35.00 would be credited back as a deposit if I chose to have the repair done with them. On August 21, 2013 SCS had not received a response from Panasonic therefore I was told that they would have to call me back for my update. On August 22, 2013, I received a voice message stating that Panasonic contacted SCS and stated that even if the television had been within the warranty that my issue would not have been one that would have been covered by Panasonic. I

I called SCS back on August 23, 2013 in which they confirmed what Panasonic stated. SCS re-confirmed that they were aware this issue was not as a result of physical damage but that was Panasonic's ruling. I was referred back to Panasonic to further discuss. At my dissatisfaction, I immediately called Panasonic. I had to explain the entire situation to the rep George because there were no previous comments listed under my case post my call on August 13, 2013. I knew that I wanted to send a letter directly to the CEO. I asked George what was the CEO's name and he responded "within my department we are not allowed to give that information out" but indicated that I could go to the website to find it myself which he seemed unsure if it was even there.

At that point, I requested to speak to a manager. The call was transferred to Richard a supervisor. I spoke to Richard for about 5 minutes where he informed me that I should call SCS because they indicated that there was physical damage and Panasonic would not cover physical damage whether in warranty or not. I reiterated the fact that there was absolutely no physical damage to my unit and confirmed with Richard that he is stating that SCS told Panasonic that. I found that hard to believe because SCS told me differently both verbally and in writing but he was sure nothing would be done for me. He told me that I could send in an honest statement from another television company of my choice and that it could be reviewed for reconsideration with the letter stating that there was no physical damage to cause this issue.

Why should I have to pay yet another company to come out and say the same thing that the vendor Panasonic recommended (SCS) said? There was no physical damage. I have said it and so has SCS, verbally and in writing. After realizing that I really was not getting anywhere and the generic response was going to continue to be it's your fault, I asked Richard to assist me with finding the CEO's name because I was on the website and could not locate it. He responded with his name is Joseph M. Taylor and provided the complaint address to write into.

After that conversation I proceeded in filing a BBB complaint (**). To my dissatisfaction on 9/14/2013, the BBB closed the case and allowed Panasonic to simply reply with there was physical damage and the BBB was satisfied with a response regardless of the facts. The letter I received from Rain ** stated that if I have any further question, to call, which I did and never received a callback. Which leads me to why I am writing this post today. Panasonic needs to be exposed for what they are doing to the consumers. I know sometimes being high up in the food chain, the CEO may not get to hear about the "little" day to day problems that we as consumers are having until it becomes some sort of class action lawsuit. Not too many people take the time to write but after looking on the web for troubleshooting help, I then realized this may be a known issue that Panasonic chooses to ignore and places blame on the consumer each time it's reported.

This is not right. People like myself do not pay over $2,000 for a television to expect it to fail in 14 months due to faulty issues with the panel in the television. Furthermore to be told that it will cost $2717.89 to fix it. I am very disappointed up to this point that Panasonic continues to blame the consumer. This entire experience has been rather stressful and time consuming for their consumers. This is a manufacture issue that may need to be looked at on a larger scale rather than on a individual basis. We as a consumer should not have to pay the cost for this defect. Buying a new television is easier said than done for many including myself. I saved up for that moment that I could buy a big screen television with all the cool features that my television has. I chose Panasonic to be the company I invested my money with for my product. I have not given up hopes yet that Panasonic will rectify this situation, not only moving forward but for those that have lost out already.

I am prepared with all of my receipts and the SCS "honesty statement that there was no physical damage." My question is Panasonic are you ready to finally stand up and admit to the faulty panel(s) and do the right thing? Here is what I got from SCS as my "honesty statement." Per the review guidelines I have removed the company's email address information as well as my own. The Plasma panel, SC, SD and SU boards need replacement. The technician at the time of the appointment did not find any physical damage to the TV. If any more information is needed please let us know.

After 5 days of turning on/turning off, the TV came back on by itself and worked fine for months until August 2013 - when same thing happened. This time it came back on after 12 hours. We decided to bite the bullet and take it in for service before the warranty ended. TV has now been held hostage for 2 weeks - one tech says needed a new power board - they aren't sure that is the problem. Other says nothing wrong with the TV that it came on every time after being unplugged. Never again Panasonic! Never again!!!

And the one that came with the initial TV took average 4 MIN to start up the TV! And we are definitely not the minority to have this problem. Amazon reviews for the model were flooded with the similar complaints. It's not too hard to test the life of the lamp. Why would they make this completely misleading claim before even giving it a bit of testing, while still enjoying the high industry reputation?! How can we join a class action against Panasonic's LIFI as it seems to have already one? Thank you very much!

Purchased my Panasonic Viera TC-P50S30 Plasma HDTV on June 3, 2011 and received my 7 blinking lights of death on August 24, 2013. I guess I must be one of the lucky ones, got a little over 2 years of service on my tv before she let go. Obviously this is still an issue that needs to be resolved. Since this is late Saturday evening, I will try and contact Panasonic as soon as possible, but I have to say from all that I have read, that the outlook is bleak. The only good news that I can take from all of this is that I live in the state of Maine and we have an implied warranty law that basically states that when you purchase an item (except for motor vehicles) you have a 4 year implied warranty in Maine that covers parts and labor. It's a time consuming process, but it works.

My HP laptop died and was out of warranty and HP said I needed to purchase an extended warranty before they would look at it. Called the Attorney Generals office and explained what happened, filled out a written complaint and mailed it back to the A/G. Soon thereafter HP contacted me to confirm problems and sent me a return box for repair and all was taken care of free of charge. I'm guessing I will have to do the same with my plasma tv. I think the A/G's office will be amazed with the amount of problems they will see with these plasma tvs when they research it online. Once again the consumer gets it in the end, or should I say up the **?

I feel fortunate my TV has lasted as long as it did. Naturally it is out of warranty and I have been referred by Panasonic to a repair shop where I undoubtedly will have to pay many hundreds of dollars to have it repaired. Our Plasma Panasonic TCP55GT30 (build date October 2011) that we have owned for 13 months decided to give us the 7 blinks of death problem on August 5. Unfortunately, we did not have the extended warranty. We contacted Panasonic Service and they gave us the name of a certified Panasonic Repair Tech. They did give us a case number and some indication that they may cover the repairs since we are slightly over a year. The technician came out 8/9/2013 and did confirm that we need an SC board replacement (Part #TXNSC1NVUU). Most of the grounding screws were loose, possibly an indication of what caused the short. The repairs total $480 if not covered by Panasonic. I'm so afraid this is going to happen again in just a few months after the repairs. The part is only guaranteed for 90 days.

Panasonic called Saturday, 8/10, and said they would only cover half of the repair costs. Not too happy about this Plasma lasting only 13 months and coming up with half of the total bill when we spent around $1400 on this TV. We tried to push the issue of full coverage but they would not budge. We didn't want to push too hard risking them pulling the offer altogether, so we accepted. It's better than coming up with the full $480, I guess.

To update this story, we just found out that we agreed to Panasonic only paying half on the SC board and labor charges. They are only going to pay $178!! That is not what was presented to us, and now they are stuck on what we agreed to. As it stands, we will have to be responsible for $300 of this bill!! We are completely discouraged and frustrated. Obviously we also cannot use the extras we purchased for this set such as the Sony Goggle box, Netflix, and all the internet features. It seems this is the exact same faulty board that was causing problems in the 42" 2007 models they eventually covered 100% in their voluntary extended warranty program. Also, what are our consumer rights under the lemon laws and where do I find the info? An expensive flat panel should last much longer than 13 months!

On July 20, 2013, the TV's picture began to run lines across it and eventually blacked out. My husband phoned Panasonic and the individual said that for a fee a tech person would work with him over the phone. My husband declined this service. The person also stated that there have not been any complaints regarding this issue with the Panasonic TVs. After an hour, my husband turned the TV back on and the picture was fine. On Monday, July 22nd, 2013 my husband tried to turn the TV on. This time the picture was completely black. He tried to adjust the satellite cable and the picture remained black. After taking the TV into an authorized Panasonic repair store we were told that the CIRCUIT BOARD was faulty and we needed to replace it at a total cost of $393.00.

This TV has less than two years of use. When making our original purchase, the sales person informed us that for the size of TV this was the best value on the market. However, taking into account our time, effort and money this definitely was not the better value. This was our first purchase of a Panasonic TV and it will definitely be our LAST. The customer service at Panasonic is less than acceptable. The company in general should be held accountable for selling a product with such deficits. A $2400.00 TV should perform, effectively, a minimum of 8-10 years before encountering issues. With the number of complaints posted on this board I find it hard to believe that Panasonic is not aware of the defect with these TVs. It seems unlawful that Panasonic is knowingly selling such a faulty product.

I have to pay for a repairman to assess the problem, then I have to scan the documents in and email them to them. They refused to tell me if they would do anything even if I sent this stuff in.

The repairman comes and tells me the TV needs an SC board replaced. He called Panasonic to verify this. This seems like a Ratchet, if I have ever seen one. I was completely flabbergasted when I was charged 100 dollars for him to call Panasonic and them to tell him it was broke! I asked the repairman why he called Panasonic and he said that was the only way they would release a replacement part. He then said that he doesn't know why they send him out on most of these assessments because they usually already know what is wrong by the blinking light indicator. This is just a wonderful way for me to spend more money on a system that should last longer than 12 months.

When I pulled out the plug, then it worked. I called Panasonic since set is only four months old. The referred me to a technician that 32-inch TV has to be carried to a repair shop. Since I am 78 years old, disabled and my husband has cancer, and the TV repair was over 25 miles away, they sent a Panasonic tech to the house. He replaced the two things that are on the back of the TV. One is the power supply, and I don't know what the other is for, but I assume it has the video/sound info and is pertinent to the repair. So basically now, it is a new or refurbished set.

Four days later, without any warning, I was in the other room when my husband heard a loud sound coming from the TV. Panasonic has got to be one of the biggest name brands in the Electronic Industry and there's certain cult that has a tremendous amount of respect for the brand that always choose and relied on Panasonic over the years including myself.

My story is about a recent discovery that was made and a nasty one for the consumer's wallet and a big warning. Recently, Panasonic started to hide the refresh rates on the Viera 3D and non-3D LED line of TV displays. Whether it be on the brand site, retailer site, and get this even on the manual, it's not there! Their price is well over $900-$1000s for a 47" 3D LED TV - Great wouldn't you think? But wait, what they don't tell you is that the TV is 60 Hz compared to what's out there at the moment, 120 Hz or 240 Hz which it should be in the $900-$1000s price range as well.

How was the discovery made, you ask? While other brands show you the refresh rate whether it would be through a Proprietary naming convention like LG Tv's Trumotion 240 Hz or Sony's Motionflow XR 240/480 for example, Panasonic has no information regarding the refresh info of any kind. When calling customer support for the following TV, Panasonic Smart Viera 47" Class ET5 Series LED HDTV, the lady was digging to find the refresh rate for at least 10 minutes while she had me on hold only to tell me it's 60 Hz thereafter? Why would anyone buy a TV that's 60 Hz when TVs nowadays are 120 or above 240 Ghz? If you are unaware of what Refresh Rates responsible for LCD or LED TVs, I would suggest you read an article on CNET.

Panasonic tactics can get them in real trouble if the information is not provided at a sales point. Consumers have the right to know what refresh rate their TV is before they buy it. By Panasonic hiding the information, this could tell you that the electronic giant is using outdated displays in the new embodiment for the new models. 60 Hz rates are found in older TVs when LCD Flat Panels displays came out in late 2000s but we're in 2013. Panasonic, get with it!

The next day, I went to plug the PlayStation back in and still had no TV. I started to get concerned. So I completely gutted all the cords and started over and still no TV! Only then did I realize what the blinking light on the front of TV could possibly mean ... It died on me.

I looked up troubleshooting in the manual, and it said it went into safe mode to protect itself and I should call Customer Service. Well, I had been messing with the TV for so long that it was after business hours so I decided to do a little research myself. I come to find out, I was right. The 7 blinking lights of death happened. I stewed on it all night and called right when tech support opened the next day. Like everyone else, he had me unplug the TV from wall and try another outlet, then another. Then he tried to give me a number, not saying what the next step was, and then I called him out, "This is for a TV repairman, isn't it?" They're going to charge me a hundred bucks just to look at the TV and then another couple hundred at least to fix it! He said that he didn't know which board was out and I told him it's the one associated with the 7 lights and that I shouldn't have to pay for this at all. It was a foregone conclusion before I even picked up the phone. I couldn't believe it.

This is a common problem with Panasonic TVs, just google "7 blinks of death Panasonic" and you will find many forums that address the topic. The first time I called Panasonic Customer service to report the problem, they told me the TV had a 1-year warranty and was no longer covered by Panasonic. I mentioned the high failure rate of their SC boards and the only reason for these failures could be manufacturer error, which Panasonic should voluntarily resolve. The Panasonic Customer Service representative told me he could only refer me to a Panasonic TV repair shop because the TV was 1 month over the warranty.

Within a few hours, the red light came back on and it started working again. Then on the 14th going on the 15th of December 2012, the same thing happened again but this time it didn't come back on in a few hours. So I did the usual and went onto Panasonic's website to find a TV repair company as my TV is only 6 months old. An appointment was made for me for yesterday and I was asked what was wrong with the TV. I explained the above and the woman was very hyper and excited as she stated she knew what was wrong with the TV.

She stated that, "Oh we have had load of this particular model come back for repair. There is a problem with the internal power packs inside the TV." I said, "Well if that's the case, this is a manufacturing fault" and asked why Panasonic have not recalled this model to replace all the internal power packs. She then said, "No, they won't do that as we can fix them once they break." I replied, "Is Panasonic just sitting on this until the TVs break and the guarantee runs out on them because then they don't have to touch them at all?"

Now you know why they are cheaper than the rest of the Panasonic range because no way on earth would they lower the price of a perfectly working TV. They must have known soon after distributing them and companies selling them. I was told purely by accident what was wrong with them, otherwise I still would be unaware.

On 11/11/05, I purchased a Panasonic HDTV Projection TV. The cost of the TV was $2,182.04. I purchased the TV at Costco in Fresno, CA Ashlan & Peach. During the time of the purchase, we were not informed that the lamp (Part Ty-LA 1000) required replacement after so many hours of usage. From the time of purchase 11/05 to 08/10, the lamp went out a total of 4 times. They covered the warranty replacements three times and refuse to offer the 4th replacement. Since then, I have researched the recalls and found that certain other TVs were recalled for the same problem. My model (Model # Pt-52LCX15) was not included, which I disputed since the recall was based on the replacement lamp.

I wrote a letter to the Panasonic company (081210), and they would only give me a 20% discount on the replacement lamp, and at that time, they wanted to charge me $279.05. I informed them that why would I pay $275.00 a year for a lamp when the TV cost was $2,182.00? It makes no sense. I would like the Panasonic company to include my TV as part of the lawsuit filed and on file by Consumer Affairs (reported date 04/2006/09). It is the same lamp model, Ty-La1000, as on the suit. Since time of purchase, we had four issues with the TV dated as follows: 02/07, lamp color spots on TV screen, green & blue colors; 04/08, lamp went out; 02/09, air filter; lamp went out again. Since 08/10, I have had the TV, pending letter from Panasonic.

I purchased a Panasonic Viera Plasma TCP50C2 in October 2010. It failed with 10-blink code in November 2012. This 50-inch plasma was used but once a week on average for a few hours. A product with a name like Panasonic should not fail in such a catastrophic way. We had a surge protector specific to this television and treated it with great care and little use. One day, after an hour of use, a pop sound was heard, then the 10 flash code every time, having done everything Panasonic stated I was to do in order to validate the code - still 10 flashes and a little click, click pop sound in the process. I have a case opened with Panasonic, but like others, they want me to pay $110.00 for a service company to evaluate the TV with no solid offer to fix it, just that they noted it was possible they might do something. Nice.

Last month my wife finally agreed to let me purchase a new HDTV. After doing an obsessive amount of research I settled on this model. Being that this is a plasma TV and knowing of the "burn-in" issues in the past, I made sure to read quite a bit about how to avoid it. Most of what I came across simply stated that it isn't really a problem these days as long as you have a "break-in" period of about 100 hours. Unfortunately, that will not help if you are hard-of-hearing and must use subtitles.

After just three weeks of owning the television, there were now two bars at the bottom of the screen that are darker than the rest of the display. These were caused by subtitles displaying in that area (even though subtitles aren't actually a static image). After hunting around online for a possible fix, I read that it could just be mild image retention and I should just give it a few days and use the "scrolling bar" option on the TV. So, I stopped using subtitles for 3 weeks and instead just relied on some headphones. Unfortunately, they are still there and will most likely remain there. I called Panasonic customer service to see what could be done. I explained that I'm hard-of-hearing and I have to have subtitles. They replied that "burn-in" only really happens if you watch the same thing for many days in a row and that I should use the "scrolling bar" tool frequently.

I informed them that I don't watch the same thing all the time and that I do use the scrolling bar occasionally but nowhere near frequently, because that wasn't stated anywhere in the manual. Then, they just casually told me there's nothing they can really do since I left a static image on the TV for too long. I explained that had I known that subtitles (which wouldn't strike me as a static image) would cause damage to my expensive display, then I would not have purchased the TV in the first place.

I hate rating this product low because the display really was absolutely gorgeous. I just can't recommend it to anyone with a hearing disability knowing that they will damage their TV. I also can't recommend it to anyone who can hear simply because of the unsatisfactory quality and unhelpful customer service.

I have a 3 and 1/2 year old 42" Viera Plasma Panasonic TV (TH-42PZ80U) that started having a problem a few days ago. Periodically, the picture comes on with only a third of the screen showing on the left hand side is blurry and the color is bright pink, green and yellow. This does not happen all the time, only off and on. I called Panasonic's tech support today (had to call twice as their phone system went dead yesterday right in the middle of our call and I couldn't get connected to them again all day long) and was told to unplug the TV then plug it back in to reset it. I had already done this so this wasn't the issue.

The tech then said the plasma was going bad, that it needed to be serviced and she could set up a service call with a recommended Panasonic service technician. I told her that this TV was only 3 and 1/2 years old and shouldn't need service. I have other TV's by other manufacturers that are much older and have never had any problems. She just said that I am out of warranty and there was nothing else she could do. Personally, I don't think these are really tech support techs. I called "Tech Support" twice this week and both times these "techs" were different women with East Indian accents who sounded as if they were reading from scripts.

I know Panasonic has offices in India and I believe this is where they have outsourced these so-called tech support jobs so you are actually talking to customer service reps that have no technical knowledge of Panasonic products. From reading the 774 complaints here on this site, it is quite obvious that Panasonic does not care about their customers, does not stand behind their products, is making inferior products and could care less about getting repeat customers. I will never buy Panasonic products again. If there is a class action suit brought against them, count me in.

First, I contacted Panasonic on 8/8/12. The screen was freezing up every 15 seconds on every channel with any device used or just the TV. Since then, I have had to call back several times because as of 9/1/12, I still do not have a TV to watch. I called and they wanted a picture emailed to them of the issue. The next time, they wanted the firmware number of the TV. Next, they wanted to send a company to repair it but that company does not travel to where I live.

Next call was to do a reset on the TV. Next call was to hook up a DVD player and game system to see if the issue was isolated. The next call, they wanted me to check all the inputs to see if it was isolated to one of them. I called again and it was escalated. I called last week and they cannot find a service company to repair it. I was to give them a few more days. The next call, they were to escalate it and get back to me. The next call was to speak to a supervisor and customer service said he would tell me the same thing - to wait. She was correct; he said to wait a few more days. From 8/8/12 till 9/3/12, there has been no resolution. It is bad customer service. Never again will I do business with this brand and will tell others of my experience from day one. I bought the TCP42G25 TV. Within months of ownership (so, it’s inside the warranty period), I got the blinking red light. Since it's 42 inches, they won't come to your place and you have to lug this 80-pound television to them. Panasonic considers this "portable." So, find the biggest SUV you can and it will barely fit. An authorized dealer repaired it and again I borrowed a friend's car to bring it home - super annoying. But you figure it’s one time only, so how bad can it be? Well, surprise, we are back to a blinking red light.

I think I paid like $2,000 for this TV. It's been since about 2 years, so no more warranty (generally extended warranties are for suckers; for flat panels, I'm not sure I agree). Anyway, now it’s going to cost a lot of money. Why did I buy Panasonic? And why do they generally get such good reviews on e-commerce sites? Those are much undeserved. I would never buy Panasonic again. Samsung, here I come.

Last night, the TV made a loud pop and sparks flew from the side of the TV and the screen went blank. You could smell electrical wires or boards burning. There were no bad weather and no power outages, and all other items plugged into the same surge protector had no issues. It's obvious from the postings listed that there is an apparent common issue with models around the 3-year range.

I am searching for my 2.5-year-old receipt, since the Warranty Group says Ultimate Electronics failed to give them our information when they closed the stores. I called Panasonic, and the rep asked we plug the TV back in and try it. As soon as we plugged it in, the TV started popping and smoking. Needless to say, we immediately unplugged the TV.

I will continue to search for the receipt and also try and find a working number to try and contact someone with Ultimate, since the law requires they keep records for 3-7 years on sales. Once the receipt is found, I will see what can be done to repair the TV, as long as it's no cost to us. But I will start searching for a new TV, making sure we do not even consider a Panasonic brand.

I researched a lot before buying this set, the second Panasonic Viera I own. At first, my 46PZ80U worked flawlessly and I was happy with the picture. About a year and a half along, the set would occasionally have one of the primary colors missing from the picture. Also, it has a rather thin but bright vertical white line to the extreme right of the screen. Going to another channel and using the last channel button would seem to rectify the situation.

About 4 months ago, the screen went off and I received the now-infamous "10 blinking lights of death." Nothing about that in any of your manuals, is there? At first, switching off the power to the set and leaving it for several hours (longer than needed, I'm sure) would let capacitors drain, etc. and I could power the set back on. I knew from my reading online to expect that this was only going to happen again and again with shorter periods of working in between, until the set died. Also, thanks to online research - and a hoard of reported problems - I saw that I was not only not alone, I had a huge amount of company. So apparently, the 10 lights mean the "A" board has died. I'm guessing there may or may not be associated power supply issues with this.

You can forget any help whatsoever from Panasonic (Canada, in my case). You're on your own, so to speak. The only reason that I didn't mark my overall feelings about the set as "angry" instead of "dissatisfied" is that initially, the set did all I wanted it to. Now, I'm going to see if I can 1) find a replacement A board and 2) assess the repair cost versus replacing set. In any event, never again with Panasonic. Unfortunately, here in Canada, class action suits are a relatively new vehicle and have somewhat different criteria from those in the US.

I purchased a Panasonic TC-P50S2 on 02/05/2011. After only 13 months of use, a red blinking light came on and the TV will not come back on. I was told there is nothing that they could do. So after some searching on the internet, this seems to be a really common problem. I feel that they should be held accountable for selling TVs with these repeated problems. Thanks.

I purchased a new 58" Plasma TV on February 2009 for $2400. The power board failed on September 2011. I repaired it at a cost of $526 by Panasonic service as it is out of warranty and no consideration given. The TV failed again on February 2012 with the same power board failure. The repair estimate is $580 now. Three weeks of waiting for word from Panasonic on warranty consideration and they offered $200, knowing I will not spend another $400 to repair this TV again. It has fantastic picture when it is working. Their customer call center appears overwhelmed with dissatisfied customers. Absolutely one of the worst customer service experiences I have seen. I do not know how Consumer Reports list these as reliable TVs from what I am witnessing. I probably should have listened a little closer to the TV repair guy the first time I was having it repaired, when he said I should really consider buying a new TV. I think he knew I owned a problem.

Model # PT-56LCZ70 should be included in the settlement. I own this model and have had two bulbs replaced within one year. It now has failed a third time. Panasonic has given me three options: 1) Repair set a third time; 2) Refund me $350 and void the remaining warranty; 3) Purchase a new set at a slightly discounted price directly from Panasonic (only two sets offered neither of which was a 56" set). This is a far cry from the $1000 or a replacement set offered in their settlement on other models containing this same LIFI bulb unit. I think I am going with the $350 refund and will never buy a Panasonic brand product again.

My 55-inch Panasonic Viesta was bought on February 2012 at $1,350. I have never owned a flatscreen TV my whole life, and I was very excited to bring it home. I loved this TV. I'm a single mother of 3 children, and money is very hard for me, so I spend my taxes to buy this TV, every dime of it. Now I'm stuck with a blinking red light and a crack at the bottom. I was thinking my children caused the problem to the TV. They told me it just made a loud sound while watching cartoons on Netflix. I didn't believe them whatsoever! This is damn there a $1,500 TV. It does just go cold turkey.

So I decided to Google it, and I was amazed at all the problems with Panasonic. I wish I would have did my research before I bought it. There were many other brands at half the price. So we are without any TV at all and won't be having one for at least another year. I'm wiped clean, just enough to make it by with rent. I guess it's my fault for trying to keep up with the Jones! if you could be of any help, please contact me ASAP.

We bought a Panasonic 46" Plasma TV in January 2009 (46PZ80U). Within 18 months, the power supply went out and had to be replaced. Thank goodness for the extended 3 year warranty we purchased. The cost of the extra warranty paid for the house call while the warranty paid for the part and labor. After waiting for the part, the TV was fixed 2 weeks later.

The warranty just ran out in January. So what happens 2 months later? We turn the TV on, get no picture and the annoying little red light flashing 10 repeatedly again. It looks like the power supply is probably out again. Will Panasonic help me out on the cost of the repair since this is the second time in just over 3 years? Don't know yet. They must have the only one service guy in the area 45 miles away to diagnose the obvious problem, fax it in with a copy of the previous record of power supply replacement (thank goodness he keeps good records) and a copy of my proof of purchase.

I doubt I'll ever purchase another Panasonic. I have two much cheaper TVs that are older and haven't had any problems yet. I'm really disappointed that we spent that much money on big plasma for the main room and have had the same problem with it twice now, especially when we thought we were buying a good high quality brand name TV. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping Panasonic will try to make this right with me.

I bought this 42" Plasma Panasonic (TH42PZ80U) TV for our family Christmas present in 2008, spending much more than we ever would for a TV, because we wanted a nice one. It worked for one year, and died just after warranty expired. Panasonic sent a repairman, who told us it would cost $500 to fix the "circuit board". We were astounded, so I paid their $100 fee to look at it (jerks!), and sent them away, hoping to find a cheaper repair. We have it in storage, hoping not to throw this expensive mistake away, and fix it more cheaply. It seems that this is a common problem with Panasonic plasmas, and we were absolutely scammed by Panasonic. I can buy a plethora of new TVs for $500! I will never buy another Panasonic product again. We were referred by Best Buy to Panasonic, who in turn referred us to the only authorized repairman for Panasonic TV's in our area. After performing a diagnostic, we learned that the board in the television was bad, as well as the display. The total cost of repair would have been $1,467.52. Panasonic had initially offered $225.00 toward the repair of the television, but that was with an initial repair estimate of $467.52. This is clearly a manufacturing defect and a class action suit does seem warranted if Panasonic does not stand by its product.

I bought a Panasonic 50" plasma TV (TC-P50X1) in June of 2009. Just over two years later it won’t turn on and I get 10 red blinking lights. When I called Panasonic’s customer service they said there was nothing they could do other than refer me to an "authorized" repair shop in my area to have a diagnostic done on the TV. I called the repair shop and found out that it would be at least $60 just to have the diagnostic ran and then another $400-$500 to fix the 1-3 boards that could be bad. So I could pay almost $600 to fix this TV or spend that much on a brand new TV (different brand of course). After researching this brand on the internet, it seems like there are a lot of customers out there having the same problem. Panasonic should replace the power supply boards as a result of the thousands of consumers with the same issue. These televisions are not cheap and Panasonic is aware of these problems but fail to stand behind their product. If there is going to be a class action suit, sign me up!

After a lot of research for finding appropriate TV, eventually I chose Panasonic 3d plasma TV ST30. After only 6 months, the TV died with a blinking red indicator. I called Panasonic agent in Iran and also service center but all the technicians told me that I could pay for the electronic boards of power supply. The costs were so different. It is so weird that the highest cost was for official agent of Panasonic in Iran about 500,000 Romans which is about $400 US dollars. Besides, as the technicians said, all plasma TV's of Panasonic go to death after maximum 2 years because of this failure in power supply board. I am so furious about Panasonic and recommend all the visitors not to buy Panasonic products because of disrespect to its customers.

Well, just like everyone else here I've had my Panasonic th-46pz80U for just over three years. I purchased it in February of 2009 from Costco after returning a failed Vizio TV with similar problems after just 20 days. I was just talking to my fiancee about how I've never had any issues with this Panasonic TV and the day I go and upgrade my receiver and turn off the TV, I get the 10x flashing red lights. However, after unplugging HDMI cable and power cables TV will turn on after about 2 minutes and work fine until I turn it off and try to turn it back on again. I haven't called tech support, but doesn't even think I should waste my time, given all the problems everyone is getting from customer support. This is unacceptable, I've had a 42 inch Phillips LCD that I've had 2 years before the Panasonic and it has worked flawlessly since date of purchase.

I'll deal with this issue until I can afford to buy another TV from another manufacturer. I spent $1100 on this set and I'm not spending $700 to fix it. Especially since I seen a 60 LED TV on sale for $999.99 and projection set for $1199.99 which comes with a 92 inch screen. Hopefully, some kind of class action lawsuit can be brought up on them for not standing behind their products, and you can definitely put my name on it. I treat all of my tech gear with the utmost care, so this problem just arising on it's own is ridiculous. And the fact that it is so wide spread is disgusting.
