The cost of Costco hearing aids ranges from $1,499 per pair on the low end to $2,999 per pair on the high end. Prices vary depending on the features, technology and type of hearing aid you choose. How to buy hearing aids at Costco

To buy hearing aids from Costco, first make sure your membership is up to date, then book an appointment for a free hearing test. If you’re shopping in a store, you may be able to get tested without an appointment.

A hearing aid professional determines the extent of your hearing loss by doing a series of tests. After testing, the professional fits you for your hearing aids by selecting devices that match your type of hearing loss, the shape of your ear and your lifestyle.

You can choose to buy hearing aids right then or take some time to research the different brands and types that Costco sells. It typically takes Costco two weeks to ship your hearing aids after you order. You can return hearing aids bought at Costco within the 180-day trial period for a full refund.

Still have questions?

Are Costco hearing aids good?

Went in for a hearing exam primarily to get baseline results. Best hearing exam ever, even better than those done annually by my employer. Saw some expected age-related hearing loss, but nothing crucial. Tech said hearing aids were optional at this point, primarily if I felt the need. We discussed types and choices for my future reference. I opted not to get aids, but am completely satisfied with the exam, the results, and the service. I will make this an annual visit to ensure good hearing health.

We are having a terrible experience with Costco hearing aids. We purchased the Jabra enhanced 30 hearing aids and have had nothing but problems since day one. The people are nice enough and always say they’re going to fix them and they just never got them right and now it seems impossible to even get some assistance to get them right. I feel you get what you pay for. If you’re looking for low cost hearing aids and not expecting high-quality product then go to Costco. Otherwise spend the money go to the professionals.

After a horrible experience at another Costco, I went to Richland and saw Alec. He did a new test and let me try 2 different hearing aids. One was far better and I chose that one. Alec gave me a choice of colors and charged them and made adjustments for my hearing. Super experience compared to the other Costco, which never let me try anything and was extremely rude. I went home with new hearing aids and Alec called me a week later to see how I was getting along with them. I will always go there for any adjustments. Very Professional and super customer care.

They were great for 4 months and then they went bad. 3 providers tried to set them and the aids kept either shutting off or changing settings where I could not hear at all. Sent them in for repair and they came back worse than ever. Put them in your ears and within 2 minutes either turning off or going mute. I do not recommend them for hearing aids. One person at Costco said it was my fault for not coming in earlier. 150 mile round trip every time. Go see an Audiologist.

In general Costco Hearing aids service has been great. Yesterday we drove over 4 hours to get a faulty hearing aid fixed. The lady at the Henderson Costco was very nice. I explained how my left aid was not working right for weeks. She said she would check it out. She was busy with other customers when my wife picked them up so I couldn't ask what was wrong. By the time we got home it was back to beeping and not working again (not the low battery sound).

I have been using the Costco Hearing Aide Center in Thornton, Colorado for about 3 years now. The customer service used to be excellent, but now it's mediocre at best. Most days there's not even a person at the desk so you have to leave a message and hope they will call you back before the store closes. Good luck. I'm having problems being able to hear. I clean my hearing aides every night and use OTC ear wax removal product 3 nights a week every week. I made an appointment to have them adjusted but the guy (Andrew) I was scheduled with did not even take me out of the waiting area. He claimed he "cleaned them up a bit" and "turned them up a little". I did not notice any difference in my hearing. He told me I could put the Rexton app on my phone and make my own adjustments. NOT HELPFUL! I'm so frustrated.

The audiologists are always rushed and don't seem to have time to listen to you or help you. I had the first appointment of the day, was about 10 minutes early and sat in the waiting area while he went into a booth. Then he told me to go online and make my own adjustments. I have no idea how to do this. I'm not happy with the care or service at all.

I purchased hearing aids at Costco, and would highly recommend using them. The hearing specialists there don't work on commission, so you are assured what they suggest is based on your needs, not the cost. I was fortunate to meet Ken **. He took time to answer my questions, and had patience in testing me. I recently had a question about the clarity that seemed to change. I made an appointment to see Ken. He cleaned my aids, put in a filter, & changed the tips. I immediately heard better. It's reassuring to know if I need an adjustment in the future, there isn't any charge. This is a Costco policy. I appreciate Ken's help.

I can be at a public place and cannot hear the person sitting right beside me. I am skeptical as to the capabilities of the people Costco gets as audiologists. My latest person came from another hearing aide company and her attitude has been terrible. I have been threatened and bullied into accepting my current Jabra hearing aides. I am frustrated and trying to find support on line has been impossible. I live in Canada and unfortunately getting help from Costco or Jabra has been futile. I would never recommend Anyone to but from Costco Hearing Center. It has been an expensive lesson.

The Jabra Enhance Pro is such low quality it’s frustrating. They used to carry a good line. Not sure what happened. Many of the features don’t work on the hearing aids. The tech even said some features advertised don’t work. Whoever thought the bulky charging station was a good idea has never used hearing aids themselves. When you take them out at night, when it’s late and you are about to fall asleep, you have to get up and find the charging station. The batteries in my aids before these low-quality ones were by far a better option. If my aids aren’t charged, you have to plug in the station and wait for them to finish charging. With the batteries, there is no waiting. Seconds to change batteries. A huge step backwards to go from batteries to a charging station. Very bulky to take anywhere. Not sure why Costco lost the Phonak line, but a big step down to go to the Jabra brand.

They are nothing but disrespectful and rude. They claim they called to remind me of my appointment but according to my app which tracks every call I receive they did not. The person wanted to take my phone and check, a BIG no and a huge red flag. NEVER hand an employee your phone! That’s one way people get scammed! If Costco actually identified themselves on Caller ID more people wouldn’t have these problems.

They kept me waiting over 20 minutes even though there were 2 technicians not doing anything and no other customers. Had they even bothered to say something like we’ll be with you shortly I would’ve cut them some slack, but they simply ignored me. Then they refused a hearing test due to wax, a very small amount mind you. Absolutely ridiculous. Then I was told I had to wait another 3 weeks. Again, zero care or concern for the customer. The corporate greed machine strikes again. Pay the money to see a REAL doctor who will provide quality service and not an hourly technician who cares less about you.

I have had a Costco membership since 2012. A family of two, my wife and I do not spend a lot at Costco. But overall, I can count on Costco for high quality produce, other prepared food and cooking supplies, and clothing. I tried hearing aids in the late 1990s. A well-known company. The hearing aids were ineffective and very expensive. They went into a drawer – where they remain – almost unused. When I heard about Costco Hearing, I had a spark of optimism. I have been hearing impaired since 1969. I was at a disadvantage in almost all group setting during conversation. I do have great wireless headphones for television listening, but that cuts me off from communicating with others in the same room as we share television and movies together.

I went to Costco Hearing at Dartmouth Crossing in early February of this year. As I filled out an application form, I watched and listened to the many things going on in the fairly crowded waiting room. Customers bringing in a hearing aid because a wire broke. Getting their free disposable accessories needed for hearing aid maintenance. Technicians coming out immediately – yes, immediately - to help out customers who needed support. And a couple of employees on the phones doing the kind of job of taking calls and providing information and booking appointments at a skill level that was almost awe-inspiring.

I handed in my application and asked about wait times. One of the phone workers turned to me and said that she had just gotten a cancellation and there was an opening for the next day at 12:45. And I met Martin ** who was to handle the assessment of my badly damaged hearing, explain what Costco could provide, some technical information in common terms, and on February 22 I returned to pick up my hearing aids. He was every friendly and attentive. He made certain I understood how the new hearing aids worked and how to maintain them, and I was soon to learn as I left and returned home and spent the next couple of days doing the things I usually did that the new hearing aids had changed my world for the better.

I returned home today from the one-month re-assessment interview, which went quickly because my hearing aids had performed far beyond my expectations. I do not need a remote, or blue-tooth connectivity. My lifestyle is mostly simple and uncomplicated. And the quality of life has been improved incredibly. Martin, who does not earn a commission, but is on salary – as are his co-workers – was a treat to deal with. He recalled details from our two previous sessions. We chatted about many other topics of common interest. There was a warmth and true concern that I receive the very best service that could be provided. And I have no doubt at all that Costco has ensured that all of Martin’s co-workers are of the same superior quality as I have always found in my purchases from the warehouse adjacent to the Hearing operation.

Been a hearing wearing aids for about 25-30 years. Gave up on the local aid "sellers" and bought several aids online saving $1000 with decent results. When Costco started selling aids I became a regular customer. Best hearing evaluation and hearing test I have ever had was at Costco none. None of my local aid sellers was even close. Only time I jumped ship was when I had problems with aids I bought from Costco was with a first generation rechargeable aids. Returned for a refund and bought aids online paying about $1000 more than the aids I returned.

Now I am going to upgrade my aids to try the latest aids with AI. I will be using Costco even though I will have to drive about 80 miles to get to my nearest Costco. The difference is worth the drive and time. To be fair our Daughter and her husband live in Tomball Tx so can use her local Costco for adjustments and repairs during our regular visits if needed. Now that the current generation aids can be adjustment remotely this is much easier.

Absolutely love my Kirkland hearing aids that I purchased about 3 years ago. And the 312 batteries that Costco sells are the best value around. However, they recently changed the packaging from the flat card 6-pack of 8 batteries each to a box containing the same amount. They are packaged differently - CHILD PROOF. This is an issue, because most folks wearing hearing aids are of the older generation, myself included. I find it almost impossible to open the packaging to get out a hearing aid, much less two of them. While it's great they made it child proof, they also made it old person proof. NOT A GOOD MOVE. My suggestion is that they offer both versions. What I have to end up doing is completely tearing the packaging apart and extracting all eight batteries then storing them loosely in a drawer..

I've been using Costco Hearing Center now for over 15 years. I'm on my 3rd set of hearing aids from them, having just been tested and fitted for a set of the Jabra 20 PRO battery replaceable model in August 2024. The staff has changed over the years, but, over-all, the service and commitment to the customer is still alive and well.

I've felt that who does the hearing test, fitting and most importantly, tweaking settings and resolving issues, after your purchase, can vary depending on who does that phase of getting you set up for a great experience. None of the staff are true audiologists, but, the over-all expertise and certifications the Costco techs have should be ample for you and also save you much cost over going to a professional audiologist and hearing center. The brands and models Costco has are amongst the best rated available. The mix they offer for in, behind and invisible hearing aids, based on your degree of hearing loss, is excellent.

My only gripe is due to Costco Hearing becoming so popular now, getting in sometimes for an issue or need to have your programs adjusted, can take 2-3X the time it did compared to my previous set of hearing aids. Be prepared for that, but, your individual Hearing Center may be better or worse, depending on how well staffed they are and the size of their client base as well as if some of the staff have been there for several years or more and know the ropes, so-to-speak. I always try to schedule my visits with the senior staff member there who is basically, in charge of staff. They have the most knowledge and expertise to address making adjustments to your programs and avoiding too many return visits to get things right!

With free hearing tests at Costco (which back for my first set of hearing aids there, compared perfectly to another hearing test I had done by a pro audiologist at my local hospital), no additional charges for follow-up appointments of supplies for your hearing aids (domes, wax guards, support stems, now receivers and/or tubes, etc), the over-all investment you will make will be much less than a professional Hearing Center. Those stand-alone Hearing Centers, unlike Costco, typically charges you for anything done or purchased following the purchase of your new hearing aids. It adds up quickly. 4 hearing aid sets ago, I used my local Hospital's hearing center for hearing aids and it was 2X the cost of Costco! You've got nothing to lose, I suggest trying Costco and getting your free hearing test, but, also to get a professional audiology hearing test done as well to compare results and confirm where you stand for your loss of hearing.

First time purchasing a hearing aid and Costco has disappointed me twice (in three visits) with their unprofessional follow ups and lack of expertise. My initial visit went perfectly, I picked out the hearing aid and was given a follow up appointment in two weeks to pick up the device. The appointment date and time was written down on a business card with the employee’s name on the other side. I show up for my appointment and Costco does not have me on the schedule that day to pick up my hearing aid. Where did my appointment go??? They fit me in after waiting an hour and I leave with my hearing aid. A follow up in a few weeks was also scheduled for any questions or concerns.

I show up for my follow up and my audiologist is not in. When I tell the new audiologist my concerns with the device, she doesn’t seem to agree with what the previous audiologist told me about how the device was set up (what is a bigger concern, volume or clarity was the question the initial audiologist asked me). I asked for it to be set up for volume but meanwhile clarity has become the main concern. The employee tells me that the device keeps powering off and she can’t connect it to her computer. I tell her that I charged it last night for a few hours and again for 5 hours the morning of my appointment. She tells me that it appears to be defective and that Costco was replace the entire hearing aid.

I agree with her (I had a few issues with it powering off since I had it) and then she tells me that she will call me when the new hearing aid has arrived. What?? Why am I waiting weeks for the replacement of a defective hearing aid. First you “lose my appointment” then you tell me contradicting info about my initial set up and now I have to wait weeks for a replacement because it is defective. This is going on 7 weeks now and I’m still not properly set up with my $1600 hearing aid purchase. This should have been replaced on the spot and not make me wait weeks for a replacement.

Hi. I am disappointed. I have been using average hearing aids, for 12 years, and I don't understand the ranking of these. To tell you, if we pay attention: Sound lags in time, over sound in some of the field and lower sound in some of the channel. Has a example in the car, I listen to music (which was really undefined and unclear), I could hear some of the sound louder like air flow through the doors, bumps on the road. But not the ringing bell. The unlock seatbelt or when I put the fan on for defrosting the windows. I couldn't hear it. So what I did, I put my old 2 different company provider hearing aid. I try with the same aspect of sound and noises. Well I was simply amazed by the accuracy of the old one. So for a couple of hundred dollars more, let's get the well-known hearing aid companies we do forget: the quality of sound he s quality of life.

I would not recommend this Costco for purchasing a hearing aid because of the audiology personnel in the Hearing Aid Center.

Buying them not issue. Getting them cleaned and service is the issue. Called set appointment. Explained problem of left hearing aid not working. Needed both cleaned while had them. Got there did not know about left hearing aid not working. Explained again. Left them, shopped while waited. Come back was told hearing aids where cleaned. I asked about left one not working. Acted like first they heard about it. Girl came out said they worked fine she checked them. I explained the left hearing aid did not have volume. I tried it did not have volume. She stated well we are under AC it makes lot of noise. That why you can't hear. So came in with low volume on left hearing aid and left with low volume on hearing aid. A year later have low volume on hearing aid. Can't afford new one.

Costco Hearing Aids Center author review by Risa Kerslake

Costco Hearing Aid Centers sell hearing aids from five brands, including the in-house brand, Kirkland. Hearing aids are available for customers with mild to profound hearing loss. Financing options are not available, but hearing aids purchased through Costco are usually cheaper than competitors’ models.

      • Products: This company sells hearing aids by ReSound, Phonak, Rexton, Philips and its own Kirkland brand. Within these brands, customers can choose between open-fit, behind-the-ear, in-the-ear, completely-in-canal and canal configurations. Accessories are also available, including batteries, remote controls, TV-sound transmitting units and portable microphones.

      • Features: This retailer can provide any features that its five brands make available in their designs. Some hearing aids are Bluetooth-capable and connect to smartphones and accessories.

      • Trial and warranty: Customers can return any hearing aids bought from Costco for a full refund within 180 days of purchase.

      • Locations: Not all Costco stores have a Hearing Aid Center, but many do. To find one near you, check Costco’s store locator.
