If I could give it a -10 I would. They avoid at all costs replacing a defective mattress. My issues go back 7 years with 1 replacement which was like pulling teeth to get them to do. Second mattress the fire retardant is shredding and the foam is degrading after 3 years. They refuse to replace due to the mattress cover being taken off (it has a zipper on it). Said that it negates the warranty. They don't want you to take it off because you would see that the whole mattress is degrading. I just want a replacement which they are refusing to do. I see now that they are restructuring. Now I know why. Seriously not worth the money at all.

Bought mattress in 2021. Slowly have had edge separation to the point that it has made it unbearable to sleep. As a senior citizen and disabled, we are now required to submit pictures of mattress, base and bed frames. These are super heavy and can’t be lifted by myself or husband. Must pay $79.99 for third party to take pictures. That is bananas. Warranties need to do better in these instances. Never would I recommend this mattress. Everyone needs to be aware of the reported defects of this mattress.

I contacted Purple to find out what my options were due to a hole we have in our mattress. I was informed that they don't cover that. Due the photos I took which mind you the detail of this process is so lengthy you have to watch video. You mean to tell me that this 6-inch-wide hole, which is actually a hole, isn’t covered? I'm 42 years old, weigh 120 pounds, and I don’t think you think I know the difference between a mattress breaking down due to cheap construction versus a defect in the mattress due to poor construction. I’m so happy this happened. I would love to strip my bed down and attempt to take photos of something you can’t see, you can only feel. Because I mean, I have nothing else to do in my day besides try to take these photos. For you to then tell me it’s covered.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. **, we do see that you purchased not just one of our overpriced egg cartons, but two. But no, this is not covered. Your 120 lb. self broke down our mattress. So that’s not covered. You can always waste more of your time reading our policy, which states that we cover nothing." Don't waste your time or money on these mattresses, you can replace your mattress every year for the next 10 years and still have money in your pocket compared to purchasing a Purple Mattress.

If you’re considering buying from Purple, do yourself a favor and read the real reviews here on ConsumerAffairs, because they censor anything negative on their website. Notice how their site is flooded with glowing praise, while Consumeraffairs tells the truth. Their actual customer experience is a nightmare. I purchased the Purple Ultimate Seat Cushion and it is functionally defective. Within five minutes of sitting, the cushion constantly slides out of position, making it completely unusable. You’re left having to stand up and readjust it over and over just to sit normally. It doesn't stay put on ANY chair, and no one with a functioning spine would consider this usable — let alone "premium."
Because of the excessive amounts of sliding, I spent hours of my time trying to fix this issue, and $100+ of my own money trying to fix this, buying velcro, buying straps, buying INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH velcro, nothing worked, this thing slides around like it was at a Diddy Party before they shipped it to me. I went over the arbitrary 1 month "trial period" all because I made the mistake of giving this product and this company a real chance before trying to return the product. That was a mistake I deeply regret now.
When I reached out to customer service, they were smug, dismissive, and robotic. I was bounced around and eventually told to do a "warranty claim" My issue wasn't ever regarding "warranty" the product is fundamentally broken, warranty doesn't fix that. Their warranty process is intentionally overcomplicated in an attempt to deter future customers from doing it, and they even make you send a picture with your full name and order number, again all in an attempt to make the process as drawn out and overcomplicated as possible.
When I finally did my warranty claimed, I was connected to someone named Cameron, who dodged my actual concerns multiple times. When I brought up how the product was defective by function, he first tried to justify refusing a refund by referencing the "Terms of Service" then, in the next email, admitted, in writing that the TOS doesn’t even address my issue. So which is it? Either the first excuse was a lie, or the second one was a contradiction. That alone tells you everything you need to know about how nasty this company is and how little they care about honesty or consumer rights.
The fact of the matter is, Purple sells bad products, and that's okay, not every product is for every person, the problem is, Purple hides behind vague, manipulative language and deliberately difficult warranty procedures to block any and all returns. They know their product doesn’t work and instead of addressing that, they waste your time with corporate deflection and smug replies, pretending like everything’s above board. They also refuse refunds even for defective products, hiding behind a "trial period" that they conveniently use to block any customer from getting help once it's passed. Even if the product is clearly flawed and unusable, they throw up their hands and say "Too bad, not our problem." That’s not customer service, that's a spit in the face hiding behind nice branding.
And again, let's all just appreciate the huge difference between the fake reviews on their own website and the dozens of furious, legitimate complaints on platforms they can’t censor, like TrustPilot. They are clearly filtering and scrubbing their site to mislead future buyers. My own review on their site was censored until I called them out for it, then it magically appeared on the site. How convenient right? I’ve filed a chargeback with my bank, because that’s the only way to get your money back.
Purple has made it clear that they have no intention of doing what’s right. They don’t care about product quality, customer satisfaction, or even basic honesty. Purple is not a company built on innovation. It is a brand that sells trash, which thrives on deception, censorship, and legal loopholes. They are not “premium”, they’re manipulative and predatory. Avoid this company at all costs. You have been warned.

This mattress feels very comfortable in the store. We purchased the King Restore Premier Firm Purple Mattress ($3,999). I have horrible pain in both of my hips that I never had before, this pain is shooting and it is in the front and sides of my hips. I have had this mattress for going on a month and the pain is getting worse. I have had different mattresses, have slept on different mattress on vacations, etc. Never have I ever had sharp (electric) hip pain like this. Cheap mattresses are more comfortable than this & the worst part, if we choose a different mattress and it is cheaper, we don't get a refund, we get an in-store credit to the mattress store. Do not recommend.

I bought a purple mattress when they first came out and I slept on it for about 8 years. When we moved, I bought another Purple Mattress. Back then Purple had 1 mattress, now they have several. I bought the original purple mattress, and it was not the same. I called and got the softer version of the Purple Mattress for another $600. I still wake up in pain. I called again and told them I was a disabled combat vet, and I never had issues on the original mattress. I'm out $1700. All I can do is share my experience.

I bought my Purple 3 November 2019 for $2600. After 3 yrs, I noticed it was losing firmness underneath me compared to the middle of the bed. I developed back and hip issues. When I filed a claim, I was told (direct quote from customer service email) "Localized firmness changes are not considered a warranty defect, so the indentation with weight applied cannot be used to determine if the mattress is defective. " So the warranty does not cover loss of firmness when you are actually ON the bed. They will ask you for a million pictures, none of which will do, until you just give up. Too bad, I loved the bed the first couple years. I should mention I only sleep on it 7 months a year and weigh 130 lbs. Pictures show difference in firmness between middle of bed and my side with 6 gallons of water for weight in each place.

We purchased the Purple Flex from Ashley's a little over a year ago. We bought this mattress because of my back issues. After 9 months, the mattress grew divots (sank), and I've now started having hip issues. We tried to return the bed. We were told to take pictures measuring the divots. We did. We were told that the 'divots weren't deep enough' for us to be able to return the mattress even though we financed it and are still paying on it. We've had to put a sheet of plywood over the mattress and bought a topper so that my back (and now hips) have the support purple promises. As my Doctor and medical records can attest that I had NO hip issues BEFORE this mattress.

I purchased a Purple mattress from Mattress Firm in 2019 with high hopes for a good night's sleep for my son. Unfortunately, within a year we had to get a new frame and after 3 years the mattress began to sag and lose its support. Given the cost, I expected a product that would last longer than this. To my dismay, when I contacted customer service about a warranty claim, they denied my request, citing stains on the mattress as a reason for voiding the warranty. It's important to note that these stains were caused by normal wear and tear, not neglect or abuse. The mattress failed due to its own structural integrity issues, not because of minor stains.
This company's refusal to honor their warranty is a clear example of poor customer service and deceptive practices. I strongly advise potential buyers to steer clear of not only Purple Mattress but Mattress Firm who sold us the warranty. Their mattresses may seem appealing, but their warranty is worthless. #MattressFailure #WarrantyScam #[MattressCompany] #BadCustomerService

I have no idea why it was not listed, but on they came and set it all up and it shows that on the receipt. I paid over $3,600.00 and they should have better service than this. I even said if they gave a discount that I would upgrade to a new sturdy frame. This mattress is very heavy for the frame it is on. We are not big people, so that is not the issue. Very disappointed in the service for the price and warranty they claim to offer.

It took over a month to get our 3200 mattress with set up. What came was a deformed blob of materials as you can see from the pictures and the wrong sized mattress. On top of that they put the frame together incorrectly, stripping bolts and tearing the foundation cover. The headboard flops back and forth as they used the wrong bolts. When contacted they said "That does not look good". I sent them pictures of everything and they refuse a refund. Not only that they took our mattress. As you can see the one they left is not usable for a couple. There is only about 4 inches of material. Buyer beware!

We bought the Premier 3 which was the best mattress at the time, 2 pillows and the mattress cover (honestly best I've ever seen. Nothing gets through it. This was 2 1/2 years ago. From the get go, my fiancée thought it was too firm. We both find it uncomfortable now. It has lost its luster. It has expanded and I now use king sheets on a queen. It sags in the middle. We are mattress shopping and we spent $4500 on all of it. I'm giving it 2 instead of 1 stars because of the superb mattress cover. The pillows are decent too.

The basic Purple Mattress I got was about $1500. Purple People claimed it was medium firm, I got the mattress and unrolled it, turns out this mattress is more like a waterbed in its softness. The bed is anything but firm. And while it isn't uncomfortable, it's so soft it's hard to get out of the bed. And if you have a bad back, forget this mattress! Or if you weigh more than 99 pounds, it's not the bed for you. As for the customer service from the Purple People, WOW! Super BAD. Dealing with them to return the mattress was like trying to pull out the Purple People's wisdom teeth! We finally settled, and they finally honored their free trial offer. So the service was so poor, so rude, and inconsiderate that I would never do business with these lowly llamas again, as long as I live. And for those considering a Purple Mattress, DON'T DO IT!

The shipping is absolutely terrible. It's been over two weeks and we still haven't received our almost $3,000 mattress. We've had FedEx show up at our house for a delivery with the mattress not even on the truck. Purple can't do anything and there's apparently no one to talk to @ fedex about the issue. I filed a claim- their response was, "Your package is out for delivery ery today" - this was 2 days ago and still nothing. It shipped from the same state, it's a few miles down the road and we were told by FedEx reps we can't just go pick it up it has to be approved through the store, etc..
Best believe Purple Mattress has got their money yet we STILL don't have the mattress. It's frustrating. I don't think the mattress is worth all this if it was what they claim it to be. They'd use better shipping protocol for their product for starters. This is customer service in America these days. Trash. And people that are there for a paycheck and not there for helping others or problem solving. They need to go over their business plans and create new ones because these PLANS SUCK FOR THE CONSUMERS!

PURPLE PLUS QUEEN SIZE. PROS: The purple mattress is amazingly comfortable (while it lasts). Sleeps cool. CONS: Very Pricey for a mattress. I bought mine 8 years ago and it was supposed to last 20 years, they have since changed their warranty to a 10 year warranty. I bought another one before doing research and despite the "100 night trial" they WILL NOT refund you the price of the bedframe DESPITE the fact that the bed frame was unopened. They also told me they will take out a fee for return shipping (I'll have to see how much they're charging and update this at the time).
Returns involve calling the customer service line AND THEN filling out an email form with the exact same (and some personal) information on a website. Normally, if you use the bed you will have to wait 21 days before you can return it BUT if you soil the bed or stain it during that time they can deny you a refund. NOW, all this information is on their website. so if you buy a purple mattress, MAKE SURE TO READ ALL THE FINE PRINT. At the end of the day: $1800+ for only 8 years is too much for a mattress.

I spent $3200.00 on the Purple 3, 2 and a half years ago. It was great for about 1.5 years. For the past year, my husband has been sleeping in our recliner because it's more comfortable for him. I've decided to stick it out by sleeping in the bed and I wake up aches and miserable. The bed has permanently sunk in about half an inch and has lost its luster. Now we're trying to get our money back or at least a replacement from Purple, and the results remain to be seen. For the cost of this mattress, I'd expect it to last much longer than 2.5 years. I bought the weighted blanket from Purple and when I ordered it they told me if I refer someone to buy the same weighted blanket using my Purple referral link and they complete their 100 night trial period without returning the product we both would be sent a $70 Amazon gift card from Purple each. Well guess what? I referred the weighted blanket to my sister, which she bought WITH MY LINK, and on her 101st day of owning her $300 weighted blanket... I contacted Purple to claim our $70 Amazon gift cards each... to my surprise, they told us both to pound sand... no Amazon gift cards for us... why? BECAUSE BOTH ORDERS WERE SHIPPED TO THE SAME RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS...
What a COMPLETE nonsense of an excuse to weasel out of a reward payout. I argued with them for a whole hour that my LINK was used as a referral to generate business for them and my sister DID buy it (with HER name and HER credit card), but NOPE, they wouldn't honor their Amazon gift cards deal because both orders were shipped to the same house... Mind you, this was NEVER mentioned on the offer's fine print OR details when we made the purchases. My sister could have easily shipped it to a friend's house if we knew this detail. What are they really thinking here? Do they think that we're going to spend $600 on weighted blankets to scam the company out of $140 worth of Amazon gift cards by shipping 2 orders to the same address? LOL! What an asinine experience...
Since then, my policy is to avoid Purple. I will not give this company a single dollar now or in the future. We were treated badly over a dumb $70 Amazon gift card. I probably would have considered buying a Purple mattress (as I need a new mattress soon), but honestly, after my experience with the weighted blankets, I'm not giving them any business at all. They literally lost $1000s of dollars worth of future business from me over a dumb Amazon gift card. Avoid Purple as a company, they feed on the YouTube hype machine, I don't mind the weighted blanket that I bought from them, but it's nothing special really. You can buy ANY weighted blanket from ANYWHERE and it'll do the same exact thing. In fact, the purple model is really hard to wash and maintain. Taking it apart to wash it is very difficult and takes an hour+. Overall, very disappointed with their business practices, bad company and bad customer care.

They couldn’t give me a time frame on when the base was going to be delivered. Later on, it just appeared on my front porch. After getting help to take the huge box inside, I found out that I was sent a wrong piece. They sent a wrong size bar. When I get a new bar in the mail, I will have to pick up the heavy bed and remove the purple plastic plank and try to place that bar inside.
This is the worst product and delivery. It makes it more frustrating when you have to call the company and explain your issue and then have to answer an automated email and repeat yourself more than once about what you are complaining about. On 12/19/2021 I left Mattress Firm (Cottman Ave, Philadelphia) feeling like I had been robbed. On 11/22/2020 I spent $5053.96 plus $404.32 in taxes on 2 Purple 3 Premiere Mattresses size TWIN XL, 2 adjustable bases, two sets of sheets, 2 pillows and 2 mattress protectors to complete my split king. I was very excited about my purchase because I believed the Purple Mattress to be of excellent quality. After approximately 7 months I noticed that the side of one of the mattresses was sagging. On October 5th, 2021, I decided that the sagging was too much to ignore and that I needed to file a warranty claim. I went online and found the process a bit confusing so I decided to pay the $79.99 advertised to have someone come out to file the claim for me. The money quickly left my account & I waited to be contacted with an appointment.
Days went by & I didn’t hear from anyone about my inspection. On October 25th, I called the store and was advised that they have nothing to do with the inspection and could not help me. They did not provide me any contact information of where I needed to call. I searched the internet & found the phone number. I called and was advised that they don’t send people out to my area (zip code 19152) and that I would have to file the claim myself. No explanation was given as to why they never contacted me. I was given a refund of my $79.99 which reflected in my account on 11/1/2021. I filed the claim myself, and on December 13th, 2021, I received an email that my warranty claim had been approved for the full purchase price of my mattress.
I went into the store this morning excited about finally getting a replacement mattress. The gentlemen working asked if I had decided on what mattress I wanted. I advised that I needed the same mattress because it was part of a split king that I had purchased a year ago. He processed everything and advised me that I had to pay $668.52. I knew I would have to pay the delivery fee, but why $668.52 extra? The associate, Earl explained that the warranty only covers the purchase price of the original mattress which was $1799.99 but that the mattress had gone up in price and was now $2,299.00 and I was responsible for the difference. I could understand if I had selected a different mattress, but I was exchanging a defective mattress for an identical mattress.
Since I needed the mattress, I paid the money. After leaving, I decided to check the advertised prices for my mattress. On Purple.com the mattress was on sale for $2069.00. On the Mattress Firm website it was also on sale for $2069.00. At this point, I was really feeling ripped off. I got on the phone and called Earl at Mattress Firm and asked him why I was being overcharged for the mattress when it was supposed to be on sale. He advised me that they cannot use the sale price on a warranty claim. It is easy for them to tell me that I have to pay the difference in price because the price went up but they had the nerve to overcharge based on the sale price at the time of the exchange. It felt like complete thievery.
As for the idea of not being given a one to one even exchange on a warranty goes against what most people would expect from a warranty. When I purchase a new car and something goes wrong, the warranty covers the repair regardless of the price. This is what one expects from a warranty. A change in price of the product should not be pushed onto the consumer or impact my warranty. I was sold a defective mattress that I purchased in good faith because I thought Mattress Firm was a reputable company. I should have received an identical mattress as a replacement at no charge.
I will never go back to Mattress Firm, never recommend the Purple Mattress, and I want to let everyone know about my experience so they think long and hard before stepping foot in a Mattress Firm and spending thousands on merchandise that may be defective and end up costing them stress, time, and possibly hundreds of dollars. Mattress Firm blamed it all on Purple Mattress saying that have to follow the rules Purple Mattress has in place. This is their response: Response from the owner 5 hours ago - "I am sorry but we must follow the manufacturer's warranty, which comes from Purple."
