I had a great shopping and delivery experience. I purchased an extended warranty on my leather sectional. Buyer beware that is money thrown away, the defective sections parts will always be on the way.

Surprised/Not Surprised by reviews. We purchased a sofa and the staff could not have been more helpful. The delivery was flawless by people who actually work for Havertys. Unfortunately, we had an issue with the sofa and called within the three days allotted for returns. They gave us absolutely no problem and picked up the sofa with no issue. We will gladly shop there again. I can't speak to all of the poor reviews regarding Guardsman but I've noticed that there isn't a good review for any of the various warranty companies. One more thing: We have been buying furniture for a few months now and the worst customer experience regarding delivery and return was absolutely City Furniture. We will never walk through those doors again.

We purchased a sofa sectional from Havertys 3 years ago, upon delivery we saw that the frame on the sofa was completely broken. The salesman said contact Guardsman, waste of time. Havertys replaced the sectional 3 times after many phone calls and letters. Now the sectional looks terrible. Guardsman insurance says normal wear. Do not buy Alan White made furniture from Havertys or get talked into buying Guardsman Insurance. Both products waste of money. I would give Havertys less than 1 star if possible.

We have purchased over $15,000 in furniture from Havertys in Frisco. We made a purchase in 2020 and purchased their insurance through Guardsman. The mechanisms in their swivel chairs failed and stained a $1200 carpet we purchased from them. We filed the claims with Guardsman and opted for store credit. We went in and purchased more furniture and paid the additional money due on that date. Everything was fine. When we received the delivery, the replacement rug was on backorder. We were told we could keep the replacement rug until the backordered rug came in. Again, everything was fine. Then we received a credit card statement from their store credit card (Synchrony) for $1,200. The store said no one charged the (closed) card, but the transaction was clear on their side.
After the third or fourth person called, they said they went back to the original form of payment from 4 years ago (closed and paid off), and charged us for the original cost of the 4 year old rug. They did this without telling us and wasn't the form of payment on the current transaction. They refused to remove the charges and their solution was to come pick up the damaged rug while the "exchange" was still on backorder. So, we will walk on a bare carpet pad while waiting for the (cheaper) rug we exchanged it for. The transaction is fraudulent, the store is not honoring what the salesperson told us about keeping the rug while the other is on backorder, and now we have a hit on our credit for something we paid 4 years ago.

We ordered a custom sectional and waited 6 months for delivery. Specifically pointed out how important it was to us that the cushions had to be High resilience/ density due to back issues. Didn't want something to sink in. Couple months later all cushions started deforming and we had issues with the frame itself making squeaky noise. Since then we have had all cushions replaced and the tech came out three times to fix framing issues. We obviously received a faulty product. I have contacted them again, this would be my 4th time and was told because it is outside warranty, nothing can be done and if I want service to call the 1888 number which will be at my expenses. Absolutely ridiculous. I could have gone to a cheaper furniture store for the same quality I have received.

The staff was super helpful, informing us right away they would be making rounds to make sure how we were doing. This was also helpful for us since we didn't feel pressured to pick furniture right away. We were able to pick out our living room, bedroom and dining with no issues and helped us check out and we were set!

The recliner motor went bad after two years. Call Havertys, they placed a service call to Guardian for warranty. 10 days later a "technician" came and looked at it. He had no replacement for the motor. He said I would be receiving an email concerning replacement. The email arrived and Guardian claimed they would be reviewing the request in 30-45 days. I contacted Havertys and was told that was their process, I find that timeframe unacceptable. I offered to purchase the part myself and was transferred to their customer service. I was told they did not have the part and would need to be ordered. Time for delivery 7 weeks! Short version Havertys has no warranty program and are selling Chinese junk. Will not buy from Havertys again.

Part 1. Our first experience with Havertys was the Blue Ridge Table and 4 chairs. When it was delivered and we opened it for the first time, the slide underneath was cracked. Immediately, I sent a photo and Havertys scheduled a new table to be delivered. Keep in mind this was on for quite some time because we were up to number NINE, when I pumped the brakes. You can't make this up. Literally, the table sent were a disgrace. Either they were built in a farmhouse, destroyed in transportation, or totally mishandled. We decided to keep the first one and got the slide fixed.
Part 2. We had decided to give Havertys another try. We ordered the 41" Destination Sofa in a Grey Cloth, and added 2" to the height. With that order 2 chairs and an 8 X 10 area rug. They sent a 47" sofa. Now, that wouldn't have been so bad, but the backs decline so much, you would have to mount the TV on the ceiling. One chair had to be exchange, along with the area rug because the creases/winkles in the rug never eased down. Those 3 products were reordered. The chair was delivered and it was fine as well as the rug. The sofa was reordered, and yes, another 47" sofa was delivered. I called the local store in Palm Harbor and no one answered. I took a drive over and brought a cushion with me. They were in the store, but no one believed this would happen. What they didn't know was that I brought the cushion with me. Yes, it was the 47" sofa. They reordered.
While there, I sat on the 41" sofa again and it was exactly as remembered, quite comfortable especially the back cushion. The product was reordered. Yes, again the 47" sofa was delivered. This happened either one or two more times. Finally, the 41" sofa was scheduled to be delivered and I received a call. Inadvertently, the sofa length was wrong. Instead of an 86" sofa, they had received a 96" sofa. That would be too big for the room. Again, another two months or so to wait for the product. We are heading for about a year or close to it...
Close to 8 weeks later we received a call and the sofa was complete. We arranged the delivery date, the sofa was delivered. What was odd, the back cushions were so thick and hard, roughly about 12" that they made the seat cushion or seating area look tiny. The sofa, was in, the delivery guys left and my wife sat on the sofa. With that, a huge cracking sound when she sat down. I sat down on her side and the same exact noise but because I'm heavier, it was louder. Luckily the delivery guys were still outside and they came back in. They too sat down and heard the noise. I thought it was the frame, they thought it was the springs. Either way, it couldn't be fixed.
Part 3. I took a ride to the Tampa, Dale Mabry Store. I took a look at the 41" Destination Sofa. It too was quite comfortable. I did talk to corporate and was told we could've upgraded the inserts or cushion material, something that was never offered to us. I have to say, the sofa was extremely comfortable just like the one sitting in the Palm Harbor Store. I took a video of my hand pushing on the sofa as the different cushions that you can order or upgrade didn't feel close to that of what was in the display. I sent the video to corporate and was told that someone would call me back. It was obvious that what they are showing on the 41" and 47" is not what was delivered to us and I doubt anyone else. And it's not because it was easing up because people were sitting on it. That would be pure nonsense.
Meanwhile, I was told the Regional Manager would call me. I was also told that someone from higher management would call me and absolutely no one has called my. We really liked the sofa. Is this a bait and switch on the inserts/cushions? The last time, I called the CEO of the company, Clarence Smith and left him a message. No return call, no customer service.

I recently purchased several pieces of furniture from Haverty's in Columbia. I choose a custom ordered fabric for the recliner and specifically asked if the fabric would be good for a home with 2 cats. The "designer" told me that this particular fabric would be very good for my home. It is not. She (the designer) obviously did not know what she was talking about. Apparently Haverty's has no guarantee on their furniture, nor will they stand behind their products. This is obviously a case of faulty fabric as the tears and broken threads began appearing with 2 weeks of receiving it. I showed them two other couches (one from them) that had no damage on them. One of the couches I have had for over 4 years.
I also showed them a chair I bought from them over 10 years ago and it had no damage on it, and the fabric is similar. It is so discouraging and unfair that they will not stand behind their products. I advise people to look elsewhere for their furniture, or, at least, be very wary of what they buy at Haverty's. I, for one, will no longer shop at Haverty's, nor will any of my family members.

Being a customer of Havertys for many years now, I was very disappointed when I realized that they didn't want to honor the extended warranty for our sofa and loveseats. We had spent around $6000 for our "leather" set "aviator". Six months after the warranty had being expired, I explained to them that the problems with those sofas had started many years ago but unfortunately, serious family reasons did not allow us to take care of this issue earlier.
I called the store last year and I asked for Gary, our salesperson. I was not able to find him. Now, they are telling me that they can't do anything, because my warranty has been expired for 6 months now. And what about the chipped and cracking and discolored sofa and loveseat?? My fancy AVIATOR set that now looks like a pair of rugs? No, I don't recommend them anymore. The quality is not the same, as it used to be. A customer that has spent around 15k to Havertys... Be very careful when you buy from them.

We have been a customer of this store since about 2004. We recently paid over $2,000 for a round kitchen table and six chairs. The table is delaminating and the finish is coming off after just one year of normal use, no small children. We did not purchase their extended warranty. When I reached out to the store, they suggested a furniture touch-up pen. Then when I escalated it to customer service, she simply said I would have to pay for repairs since it was past a year. This is completely unacceptable customer service. I will be purchasing a new kitchen table, but never again will I purchase anything from Haverty's. Their refusal to help with this issue is extremely disappointing and they have lost a long-time customer that purchases multiple pieces of furniture each year. Their loss. I would recommend looking elsewhere for quality furniture and a company that stands behind their products.

Haverty's is the only place we'll buy furniture now. Went to many other furniture stores that make deals but don't really fulfill on promises or follow through for the customer. This is not the case at Haverty's in Port Richey. They exceed expectations, take pride in their customers, stand by their products and offer immediate support if something isn't to your liking. They do bend over backwards and I respect that! We had our bed scheduled to arrive in two days and there was a foul up at the warehouse. One mattress was missing at delivery. So Steve, our sales rep, discovered this issue and rectified the situation by personally delivering a matress to our home, (and in a rainstorm) so that we would have our beds when promised! This is what I'm talking about... above and beyond what other furniture stores would do for their customers! Thanks so much Steve! We slept beautifully last night in our new beds because of you!!

My husband and I found the perfect desk at Havertys. It was a floor model with small scuff marks but we fell in love with the desk so we decided to buy it at a 10% discount. We were told it came with a Guardsman Warranty, although later we found out that Warranty cost us $270.00. Our fault for not looking at the receipt. The delivery men tried to fit it through the door without measuring. Big mistake. It scraped the desk top big time. They tried to fix it with a marker which only made it worse.
Our only recourse was to send it back or take another 10% off and a service tech visit. Again we loved the desk so decided on the latter. Big mistake. We never got the service tech visit. On top of that Guardsman said they wouldn't touch it since it was a mistake made during delivery. I received an e-mail from Havertys' Customer Service about making things right. I told them I just want the service tech guy to come out like they promised. They never returned my e-mail. I had to pay $150.00 out of my own pocket to get it fixed. Poor customer service. Won't go back.

Tara Sectional is a more of a Terror Sectional. Comfortable, sleek with a modern look, but the service after the sale - what happened Havertys? Two of the five units arrive with clear signs and damage from previous assembly/use (photos to prove it too). The corner section had a noticeable and prominent flaw in the fabric. The replacement service call ended up being a guy with a sewing kit and replacement fabric - and he was going to cut apart the sections and resew in replacement fabric in the middle of my living room. This was the 2nd day I took off from work with the first delivery window turning into a 10-hour wait.
At the Havertys price point, I'm not ok with cutting apart and sewing in replacement fabric, and not sure who would be. Replacements were not available in-state, per the customer service rep on the phone so it would be another month before delivery. I could keep the damaged and used items with a 10% discount on the affected units but agreeing to a void on the warranty for the entire purchase. At this point I asked them to come get their sectional and refund my purchase and today they did.
If this is how Havertys stands behind their products God help their customers - broke my family's trust completely. The On-Time delivery was not - scheduled for a mid-day arrival and showed up after 6 pm. Replacement of the used and damaged sections was switched for a "service" call leading to another day off wasted. The "We are done" pickup was right on time - but you might want to reconsider sliding furniture across the floor on its side as a means of moving it to the door.

We went in 2021 to buy our mattress after a year and a half the foam started to detach from the mattress and started sliding off. We also started to feel the springs. So I called to see what the warranty would cover. They said they would have to send a technician out to examine the mattress. The technician came out and measured the bed after 10 min he left. I received a call from customer support saying the technician put that it was inconclusive so they had to send the decision up to management.
I received a call a couple days later saying that they would not be replacing the mattress that it was not a defect on the manufacturer. I proceeded to ask them what constitutes as a manufacturer defect and they said it would be a defective mattress which I told them it was. That there was no way we slept in the bed that much within a year and a half period to cause it to deteriorate that quickly. I said I was not going to accept that and I would be contacting the CEO to inform him of the situation. I had to send 3 emails addressed to the CEO explaining the issue.
I received a call from customer service saying they would let me make a reselection with a 40% usage fee. So a mattress that I paid about $2600 they would let me make a selection for about $1000. I did not accept that because a mattress should have lasted at least 10 years lasted a little over a year and a half. I told them I would need to contact the BBB because that is completely unacceptable. I ended up getting a call later that day saying they would let me do a reselction for the full amount. So I thought ok I appreciate that now we will be able to get a better mattress.
I ended up paying and extra $500 to get a different brand. We went made our selection and I waited about a week for it to be delivered which is just fine as long as we we’re getting our new mattress to actual be able to sleep I was good. It was delivered and right when they unwrapped it there was a huge tear in the seam by the handle. And some of the threading on top was coming undone. I was like that’s ok they will just replace it I understand that happens. So we scheduled our second delivery which was today. They unwrap it there is a huge tear in almost the exact same spot. I obviously refused it.
Now I am frustrated all over again because it’s not only an inconvenience but there is absolutely no quality assurance. Customer service called and said we will just send another one. I am just so disappointed with the whole experience with this company. We just want a mattress we paid now a little over $3000 for to be what it’s worth. There was not much I could tell them. It wasn’t like they would credit me anything back. I just accepted that they would be scheduling the third delivery next week. Fingers crossed. I just do not recommend buying anything from them. I have never had so many issues and I have purchased from multiple furniture stores. So please take your time to look around. And READ REVIEWS!

We bought a substantial order from them. The dining table was replaced because the top had big chunk of wood coming off. After not even 3 months of use, the chairs started sagging (and we are both low BMI :) ). At the end, we had to return the entire set, pay for the difference and upgrade to another line. We needed to replace 3 times the recliner because the leather was defective. After more than one year the leather where you seat started fading and we put a blanket to minimize the wear, not too fancy looking in the living room.
We bought the 5-year protection plan, the Guardsman. After repeated solicitation asking for a service, we decided to dispute the transaction for the cost of the protection plan. I even went to the store in person to talk with the customer service regarding Guardsman lack of response for the service and they did nothing. We asked for a touch up kit because the paint on the furniture is chipping and they give us cheap dry crayons, same Guardsman and same type you can buy in Lowe's. We ended buying from Amazon acrylic crayons which not only are better quality but solved the touch up problem. At end of the story, don't buy the protection plan because it doesn't work. I doubt that in the future I will buy from Havertys, too expensive for what they offer.

I am writing this letter in hopes that the Haverty Furniture Store will be listed as a company that will sell polyurethane furniture as “real leather” furniture. In 2019, I entered the Haverty store in Bowie, Maryland. I saw an Omega five-piece sectional that was on sale and was a floor model. I asked the salesperson if the sectional was leather, and he said yes. I examined the sofa and based on the “assumption” that it was leather I purchased the sectional. I also ordered another chair because the additional chair made the sectional complete in my family room.
In the latter part of 2022, the Omega sofa, specifically the two chairs that my husband and I sit on is crumbling. The other four chairs still look brand new. I called Haverty’s to inquire about buying two new chairs to replace the chairs that were crumbling. I was told that the Omega furniture was no longer available. I then called a leather repair person, and he asked me if the sectional was leather. He asked this because he only repairs leather furniture. I then called the Haverty Bowie, MD store and asked if the sectional was leather so that I could assure the leather repair person that it was leather before having him come to my home. I was told again by your Bowie, MD store that the sectional was leather.
My leather repair person came out and said that if he repaired this sofa within a couple of days, it would crumble again. So of course, this did not make sense to have the repair done. Maybe a few weeks later, I visited the Haverty store in Rockville, MD, I explained to them that I was hoping that they had Omega furniture because I had two chairs that had begun to crumble. They told me that the Omega sofa was no longer being sold and more importantly they told me that the sofa was not leather.
I then called the Bowie store again and they again told me that the sofa was leather and that this was information given by the manager of the store. I told them that the Rockville store showed me on their computer system that the sectional was not leather. So, the Bowie store called the Rockville store and then they finally admitted to me that the sofa was not leather. Now it is 2023, and I told the Bowie store that I would have never bought this sectional had I known that it was not leather. So now I have spent $2,330 total on a six-piece sectional that I am going to have to replace. And furniture should be expected to last at least 7 years.
Initially I was offered $300 store credit to resolve this issue. I refused the offer, so I was then offered $400 store credit. I refused again and then the Bowie, MD store manager asked me to come into the store and look for something that I might like to resolve this for me. So, I did, and I picked out bedroom furniture that came to approximately $1800. She then asked me to pay out of pocket $1600 towards the furniture. Of course, I refused. Then she asked me what would resolve this for me, and I told her a full refund. She said that she did not think that a full refund would be possible and then offered $800 store credit. I refused again and told her that I was going to contact the corporate office. So, I did and was told by your corporate office on February 23, that the most that could be offered would be $1399.99 in store credit and they would take back the sectional.
This offer is not acceptable to me. I would accept an exchange of furniture that would be closer to the $2000 amount but because of all the stress this has caused me, I am asking for a full cash refund of $2,329.97, because I was deceived from the beginning of this fiasco. I can be reached at ** (cell) or ** (home). I have receipts on request.
Thank you,Pamela

Based on my recent experience of early 2023 Havertys has a very short sighted return policy. They would rather lose thousands of dollars in more business than show flexibility in return few hundreds dollars. I tried to cancel the warranty for the sofa they delivered few days ago, they refused. I made no claims against the warranty, I just did not want it after receiving the pamphlet which excludes almost anything that go wrong with the furniture. I therefore cancelled the remainder of my order. This rigid policy is indicative of lack of business sense or customer care.
I bought an expensive leather sofa, and they gave me a wood care kit. I tried to exchange for leather care kit, they refused. The sofa is already sinking in the middle, I am still waiting on their action, their expert is not 100% sure it can be fixed. What recourse do I have if they don't fix it, what a mess.!. If you do buy furniture from Haverty’s and get the Guardsman coverage pray you don’t need to use the coverage because they will not honor their commitment. So don’t buy from Haverty’s and don’t get Guardsman furniture coverage. It’s too late for me. I’ve been getting the run around since august.

I purchased the Brooklyn sofa from Haverty's to replace another Haverty's sofa that was about 10 years old. I like the seat cushions and the general frame shape of the sofa. My problem with the product is the quality of the back cushions. The pillows are comprised of square shape covers that are filled with folded up stuffing material. The stuffing is inadequate for the pillows to maintain their form, so they become dented and misshapen if you sit against them. I constantly have to rearrange the pillows. Every day I have to try to make them look less dented. I am at the end of my rope and I hate this sofa! It makes me sad because my other Haverty's furniture was good. I decided to donate the sofa because I worked a long time on my living room and want something that actually looks nice. I am getting a new sofa from Macy's this week.

Had purchased from Havertys a few times before. Went there again to purchase several pieces of furniture for a new home we were having built. They referred us to their "design consultant". What a joke. She was simply a sales person. Oversold us on several pieces. Matched two twin beds sets we purchased with undersized and cheap bunkie boards and foam mattress. Had to complain as the mattress fell well below the headboard and footboard. It turns out that I needed a low profile box spring and regular mattress to fit properly. You'd think a "design consultant" would have known that.
Then on a custom piece she told me the fabric I wanted was available. But put the order in for a different but similar fabric. (I guess she was hoping I didn't notice.) I'm stuck with the chair as she did not put the name of the fabric I wanted on the order sheet. My mistake I did not notice. Then she did not tell me that the Hooker furniture pieces that she suggested were not returnable like the rest of Havertys furniture. When I cancelled prior to delivery Havertys wanted me to pay a huge restocking fee. This all started February 2022. Still haven't got a clear accounting for my refund. And my refund is on furniture that I never had delivered. What a nightmare. Will never use this store again.

Some of the delivery crews are rude. They don’t respect your property. One time they scratched my brand new hardwood floor. Few of the customer service agents are rude. They doesn’t know how to talk to a customer.
I am a heart patient. My last phone call with a customer service agent raised my BP sky high and I started feeling chest pain. So I give up. Nothing in this world is not worth more than my life. In December 2021, I purchased a sofa, love seat, and leather recliner. After little use by 2 adults, the cushions on sofa and love seat are collapsing. The cushions now reduce to about two inches when sat on and the back cushions which are stuffed with batting are only partially filled and look like they are several years old rather than months old. The overall construction of the sofa is so poor that the back of the sofa is a piece of cardboard covered with upholstery. This sofa and love seat is not the same quality as the one on the showroom floor.
The mechanism on the recliner doesn't work properly so you have to use your hands to close the footrest and the back of the recliner won't stay in the reclining position. A technician came to investigate our concerns and we were told that the recliner cannot be fixed and the only time the back will stay in the reclining position is if you have the power recliner. The store associate did not tell us that or we would have bought a stationary chair with an ottoman. My husband and I spent 5 hours at Havertys on two consecutive days making certain we had the sofa, love seat and recliner that would be comfortable and hold up for years. Now we have a $5000 mistake sitting in our living area. The store associate was so nice and told us that she had the same sofa in her house and how great it was. I won't be as trusting and naive again.

He told me that this is NOT a leather couch. When we bought it, it said LEATHER and all websites with Havertys (website, social media, etc) said leather. The leather repair person told me today it is a stamped fabric. WTF? We PAID 3k for a stamped piece of fabric? I will NEVER buy from Havertys again. He also told me they will tell you it is "Top Grain Leather". Be very wary of this phrase... it means it is a top stamped onto a piece of fabric with the grainy look of leather and not real leather or even vinyl. I needed a couch and knew Havertys had a good reputation. I had a pleasant experience with the salesperson. I picked out my couch. It was expensive (~$7k). It arrived on time. The delivery guys were great - friendly, helpful, and careful. The couch was nice for about a month. The fabric began to pill by the end of the first month. After 3 months it became lumpy and uncomfortable - especially one cushion (and it doesn't get used more or less than any other cushion). The cushion somehow acquired a permanent indentation. It's an odd shape, too. It's long and thin all the way across the seat; not rear-end shaped as one might imagine.
I flipped the cushions over, and it seemed near new. Now, it's 3 months later, and both sides are lumpy, indented, uncomfortable, and pilled. The cushions don't fill out all the corners of the coverings. They never really did fit. I brushed this off at first thinking it's just new and needs time to fill out. We've had it 6 months, and I've come to the conclusion I made an expensive mistake. Havertys isn't what it used to be apparently. Don't make the same mistake I did. Look elsewhere.

We have no children or pets in the home, only 2 elderly people with no roughhousing going on. We noticed after 3 months that the 2 back corners have peeling leather on them. There is absolutely no way we could have caused this damage. It is simply peeling off as if it was too tightly installed on them.
When calling the customer service we sent in pictures and filed a claim. We were told that it was an in home damage and there is nothing they will do to fix it. We called the store to see if we could return it. There is only a 3 day return policy. This was a $3,000.00 sofa that looks cheap and old after only 3 months of use. I purchased a Serta Comfort Hybrid mattress less than 2 years ago. SUPPOSEDLY came with a 10 year warranty. The mattress is now starting to sag when you lay down on it. My wife and I are not large or overweight people. This should not be happening. The quality of this mattress is not the same quality as shown on the sales floor. My wife called up and complained about the mattress and they sent a Havertys service rep. He came and ran a string across the mattress and put some little block on the mattress and said it isn't depressed enough. Doesn't matter if you climb in bed and your butt drops 5-6". The test is a joke, just like their warranty. Havertys Service dept representative called me afterwards and said "can't help you". We will find a new mattress to purchase but it DEFINITELY won't be from Havertys. Like I said, their warranty is a joke.

Over the years we have purchased thousands of dollars worth of furniture from Havertys. No more will we ever spend another dime there. The power plug in our electric recliner broke on June 25, 2020 after only 5 months of use. I filed the claim. Customer Service called me the next day acknowledging the claim and requested evidence. I attached pictures. Three weeks later after 4 calls they advised it was sitting in their Braselton GA warehouse but could not ship due to “Fedex Problems”. They promised to ship once issue resolved. One month later no power plug.
I called CS for status. They advise still can't ship due to Fedex Computer problems. I asked, "Can it ship another way." Answer: "Absolutely Not." I said, "It's just a power plug.... Can't you just put it into an envelope and ship USPS?" Answer: No way. Two more weeks went by. I called to check status. They advised they could order it again and ship Fedex Next Day. I received a shipment next day but it was wrong part. I received the power transformer that goes under the chair.
I again called CS. They apologized and said they needed to reorder. That's the last I heard from them. I have an $800 Power Recliner not able to work since June 25th (2.5 months). Today 9/18/2020 I receive an email from Havertys advising my part will ship October or November. I wonder if that's in 2020. Hmmmm. I have had numerous issues with them over the years but this Tops The Cake. NO MORE HAVERTYS FURNITURE.

Six years ago we moved to Florida. We furnished a good portion of our home at Haverty's. I had back surgery before we moved and already had a queen size Tempurpedic mattress which is great. I told the salesman that I must have a firm mattress. He sold me a king Tempurpedic Cloud, telling me it was a firm mattress. After a month I sent it back saying it must be defective as it was not anywhere near as firm as the queen we had. They sent me a replacement. It also was not firm but I thought it must be me as the salesman (Mr. ** who is no longer there) assured me it was a firm mattress. My back aches have persisted for six years and I just assumed it was for other reasons.
Three weeks ago I went in to the Haverty's in West Palm where I bought it. The salesman (Sal) was very polite and helpful. He filled out a claim form. I received a call from Haverty's and they told me to first work with Tempurpedic directly and if they could not help, the Haverty's would .When I told Tempurpedic which mattress I had they told me that the salesman sold me a soft to medium mattress.
Today I went back to Haverty's. Sal was not there so I was directed to a "manager" by the name of Jared. This poor excuse for a manager told me, without even looking in to the claim, that they would not consider helping, He said, and I quote, "Yes, I'm sorry is all you will get from us." If he were an employee of mine he would have been gone on the spot. He could not have cared less or had less interest in my situation. I gave him and Haverty's one star because no stars is not an option. After spending thousands of dollars there and being treated without an iota of respect or concern I will never shop there again and suggest you look elsewhere if you need a place with good customer service.

I really wanted to love my experience with Havertys. It seems silly but I have fond memories of shopping there with family and getting really great stuff. In fact, my parents still have some things they purchased years ago. The quality has always been known to be excellent. We needed to furnished our new place almost completely because of selling our home furnished. When we went in (early July 2020) due to Covid we were told things could take up to 8 weeks and that ordering anything that wasn’t on the floor (color-wise) would be a customer order.
Therefore, we ordered what we were told was considered in stock and not custom. The bed arrived timely. However, it arrived damaged and my husband tried to negotiate how to resolve it. Before receiving a call back about how it would be resolved delivery of a new headboard came without notice that that’s what it was. We thought they were delivering one of the two sofas we purchased. Ok lack of communication strike one. Fast forward 8 weeks. We called to see the status of our two sofas. We were told the sleeper sofa would be available anytime, but the main sofa had no delivery date. What? So we called the store and we were told that it would not be available until October.
This is a problem because my parents whom I haven’t seen in a year are scheduled to visit at the end of September. Both they and we have been quarantining to as to safely visit. This was not acceptable. The salesman then offered to switch us to the same sofa in a different color that was available. We complied. On date of delivery two movers/employees came and determined it would not fit In the elevator as I was then told “we only have 12 minutes to deliver this, now we will be really behind”. This is a far cry from the white glove delivery service sold to us at the store. They said they’d need another guy to get it upstairs. They did not stop to look at the staircase which is quite large and spacious for moving.
My husband called customer service who told him to send pictures of the staircase to be reviewed by the manager to approve getting the sofa up this way. He’d be contacted in 48 hours. 24 hours passed the 48-hour mark and no call. At that point, my husband calls and also wants to know the status of the sleeper sofa. Now we are told that 1. No one has reviewed the pictures and 2. The sleeper sofa now is not coming until October when we kept hearing it was coming anytime end of August, early September. We asked to speak to the store manager about the sleeper and the store receptionist said, “Well she can’t tell you any more than what I have.” I said my husband just has a few questions. She took my number and end of day, no one called back.
Then, on the phone with customer service regarding the sleeper we asked what the process is for a refund and they proceed to tell us that’s not possible because the sleeper is a custom order. No, it’s not because the salesman said it was not. No solution there. My husband was then again told that the pictures for the main sofa would be reviewed and to call again tomorrow. That will be tomorrow 9-11-2020. We might have to hire movers to get the sofa if they determine they can’t deliver. It’s 3 or 4 cities over to do this. Havertys may have have been a great company 15 years ago but to date I see nothing but lack of customer service. Covid 19 or not.

The other furniture was a special order and would be delivered later. Weeks and weeks later... nothing. Sales person would not return our calls.
Finally, furniture showed up. Sofa table was damaged even more, and never repaired. Called and called, only to be put on hold forever. Finally called and held for 45 minutes. Got through, and a service ticket was created. Another month went by and again nothing. No calls, couldn't get through customer service, etc. Again, after waiting almost an hour, my call was answered and they finally scheduled a service appointment. 2 weeks later! I purchased a bedroom set from Havertys in Virginia Beach in late 2016. A crew delivered and assembled the bed frame as part of the purchase. I was led to believe I would be getting a professional installation. I always noticed the bed frame was not the sturdiest, but was warned by the crew that assembled the frame that the product was just that way so I believed it was a bed made of cheap materials (true).
However, about 3 years later I had carpet replaced in the bedroom and had to move the bed. That is when I noticed (after putting frame on side) multiple missing screws and bolts, splintered wood from screws driven in on an angle, and a missing support leg (1 of 4 that run down the center of the bed from the footer to the header, about 10" in width). The crew purposely hid that from me and led me to believe I had received a full bed set. Havertys has said they are sending me new hardware, but no support leg or crew to properly assemble it finally. Congratulations Havertys! You got me, way to stand behind your product and service! I WILL NEVER MAKE ANOTHER PURCHASE THERE AGAIN!

We have purchased over $15,000 of furniture from Haverty's over the last 15 years. A decade ago the quality was comparable to Ethan Allen. In fact, we still have our dining table and chairs from 2004. Our most recent purchases, within the last 1.5 years, have been completely disappointing. A dual recliner loveseat and two recliners. In August 2019, we purchased two Kobe wall hugger recliners and a sleeper loveseat. One of our recliners was delivered broken (the right arm bent outward 6"). They left it until a replacement could be delivered, which took until today 01/08/2020! Delivery arrived with no recliner on truck! Nearly two years ago, we purchased the Bernhardt Colton Sofa (the extra long four seater) and the matching chair and Ottoman, for $4900 and we love the look (still do). Within a month, the cushions were showing noticeable compression and sagging as though the furniture was a couple of years old. We also had a problem getting the sofa to stop "teeter tottering". Because the sofa is so long, and the middle legs too tall, the sofa tips back and forth even though the leg levelers on the ends are fully extended. We called Havertys and they sent someone out. They worked on the legs, cut the middle ones back somehow, so the teeter totter stopped. The cushions were just "too bad" for us.
Shortly after the first repair visit, the front of the chair cushion looked even worse and they sent someone out again. This repair person looked closer under the chair and saw that apparently during manufacturing, the front board was not installed right and was slowly coming apart making the cushions sag/shift more. He replaced the front board and it looked much better, but the chair and ottoman still already looked quite old which was terribly disappointing so soon after purchase (note that we are empty nesters who travel a lot and don't give this furniture all that much use). It was clear, after talking to many Havertys folks who seemed to (in person) genuinely care, that we were stuck with this furniture.
Because we all work hard for our money, I wanted to spare others the experience we had and send a message to Havertys/Bernhard that there are issues with this collection that need to be addressed (or the line discontinued). Other reviews on the Havertys website echoed our experience. We are looking at new furniture now, and having shopped almost exclusively at Havertys since 1999, we were wanting to see if we just had bad luck or if others had the same problems with the sofa. So today I checked the reviews, and while there were a couple there that echoed our problems with the Colton Collection pieces, our detailed (and professional, factual) review had been taken down. I "chatted" with the online Havertys representative because I thought this was unprofessional and dishonest and she said she would pass my complaint/question on. We'll see if she follows through.
I am a bit shocked that Havertys would review our review of this furniture that clearly has problems. But our review is indeed gone. I understand removing inflammatory or untrue reviews (or reviews written in anger or which are very disrespectful) but ours was not that. I'm very disappointed in Havertys. Initially for not following through and making sure we were pleased with the product -- we believe they should have taken the furniture back and issued a credit so we could find items that would hold up like our previous Havertys purchases did. I even offered accepting a partial credit but it was clear that after stretching the repair visits out, it was "too late" to do anything about the continuing problems. I'm more disappointed to see that Havertys removed our review. Clearly profits are prioritized over satisfying their long-established customers.

Mind you, this couch is hardly ever used and when it is it is used by adults. No children or grandchildren in the house. Their solution was for us to purchase new pillows from them or the manufacturer. Now why would I do that when the workmanship is so poor and they don't stand behind their obviously defective products??? I would definitely not purchase anything from them again. I have never been more disappointed with furniture quality as I am with Haverty's. I purchased over $15,000 in living room, dining room, area rugs, and kitchen furniture. It took 4 trips to just deliver my items, the coffee table was crushed, the area rug bent, the end table scratched. I purchased the expensive Guardsman insurance because I have pets and children. The area rug was stained by a pen, it took Guardsman over 6 weeks to send someone out to my home, only to be told because I tried to clean up the mess the repair tech couldn't touch it. Eventually I got a new rug but to have the new rug covered under warranty I had to pay $99 for the coverage again.
My kitchen table is made out of a whiskey type barrel. The slats are separating within the metal band and it is now a wobbly table. The Haverty's delivery person put the top on the table originally. Guardsman says they won't cover it because it's under a year old so I have to have Haverty's repair it. My light almost white colored recliner has some type of staining on the seat, not sure from what but it will not come off. The leather on the head rest is starting to flake and where the stitching is the color is gone. The flaking is a concern because I was told it's a 100% leather in that area not bonded leather, since when does leather flake? Again Haverty's has to come out because it is under a year old.
The area rug in my dining room is coming unraveled at the corners. The dining room table and chairs are supposed to be wood but there is a nick in the "wood" and it certainly doesn't seem like wood at all. There is not one single thing that we purchased from Haverty's that has not had an issue. I would not recommend this furniture to anyone. I should have gone to La-Z-Boy for my recliner and reclining sofa.
I would not recommend Guardsman either because they do not process claims quickly and fail to keep the consumer informed, but if you are buying the expensive low quality crap furniture from Haverty's you need it insured so you have no choice. The sales person and designer in store were nice. I was given a small gift certificate to use in store due to all the delivery issues we had but of course I do not want any more of their crap made furniture and the gift certificate expired. At the time of purchase we were asked if we wanted furniture protection by Guardsman. We did purchase the coverage even though the price was quite high. We had purchased the furniture protection at a different store on a prior purchase for upholstered furniture and it worked VERY well.
The cushions on the sofa and loveseat seemed very tight when we first got them and "popped out" of the frame. We assumed they would loosen up and fit better after a little usage. They never have. Each time you get up the cushion pops up. That isn't the biggest problem. We have had the furniture one year (and we weren't in the condo two of those months) and when trying to remove stains they will not come out. Also, the arms of the sofa and chair are very discolored. We notified Havertys that the arms looked dirty and that using a damp cloth on them wouldn't correct the problem. They instructed us to contact Guardsman. A rep from Guardsmen came out and evaluated the arms. He said they only work on specific stains - not soil from usage. Took pictures and said he would turn in the paperwork but didn't think anything would be done and to contact the store again.
I stated that I didn't believe that there was fabric protection on the sofa or loveseat. He sprayed a little water on them and said "if there ever was any it was put on very lightly or the water would bead up". We called Havertys to discuss. Customer Service was terrible. The woman stated "we don't sell dirty furniture". Yes, we said, we know that. But it seems the fabric protection doesn't work. She was very negative and stated someone else would call us back (after my husband stated he felt they should clean the furniture and reapply the fabric protection).
After debating with them for over a month now we were finally told yesterday that they couldn't do anything for us. They meant they WOULDN'T do anything. We know fabric protection works. In the past we had furniture that had the protection on it and all stains I tried to remove came out. It's only my husband and I in the house so it doesn't get a lot of abuse. We had an ink mark on the previous sofa -and it came out with water (as directed). We had an ink stain on this sofa and the damp cloth process didn't work. All I can say is buyer beware. And I wouldn't pay for fabric protection through them. You'd be better off buying a can of protectant spray and doing it yourself. You would save several hundred dollars and not get treated poorly by Havertys.

My wife and I are extremely disappointed. We spent over $12k on Havertys Furniture and the customer Service, Delivery, and Product have been poor at best. 10 weeks late, missing parts, and broken furniture. They have done nothing to try to compensate us, or fix the problems. They brought our couch where one of the feet was cracked, and they left it without the connecting fixtures. Then they only sent 1 fixture 5 weeks later when we needed two. Coffee table and end tables just showed up, 10 weeks later than they told us it would arrive. On arrival the table had a broken bracket, a missing foot, and a missing screw. Customer Service has done absolutely nothing but shrug their shoulders on these mishaps. We are extremely disappointed and will not be using Havertys again, nor will we be referring them ever again.

But within a year or so noticed leather cracking along side where cushion folds into side. Sent photos and customer service replied leather could be replaced but we would have to pay 50$ an hour for labor to re-upholster. Could not give est of how many hours it would take. We decided not to bother. Also seat end of sofa that is used the most has lost cushion support. We do not recommend this product. Wish we had bought La-Z-Boy!

This was not only promised verbally but is also documented on my paperwork. I called to check on the status of my order and was told it would now be 10 to 12 weeks. I'm in the process of filing a claim to look further into the issue. Either way, it is completely unacceptable that my product should be delayed to this extent. I would have never purchase it, had I known it would it take that long. I wish I had read more reviews before buying from Havertys, as the reviews are not very good for this company. Regardless of when I receive my order and its quality, at this point I have zero trust or confidence in this company. They are completely incompetent. I will never buy from them again.

Then there were accidental nicks on the table, and what seemed to be just loss of color where the stain seemed to wipe right off over time (which doesn’t happen with good workmanship). When we submit through Guardsman they refuse to pay saying it happened due to general use. The sales rep basically lie to our faces about how it works. I have bought many pieces of furniture in Havertys. They always had great furniture, but they have GONE TO THE DOGS! Never again will I purchase something from them! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! I bought a leather sectional sofa from Havertys in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We rarely sat on it, so it took a few months to notice that it was absolutely no good! The cushions won't stay on... they slide out and you'll eventually end up on the floor if you don't get up to push them back in. You sink to the floor when you sit, and it already looks like it's 15 years old! I don't know why I didn't think to call them as soon as I noticed this. But, I went out and bought industrial Velcro to try to make the cushions stay in place because my previous sofa of 12-13 had Velcro... The cushions NEVER moved!
The Velcro came undone, so when I called Havertys I had the sofa for 14 months. They said there was nothing they could do about it because it was past a year. (But now I know it wouldn't have mattered because I've read such terrible reviews of how they didn't stand behind products after only a few months). We spent over $2000 on this sofa, and it looks HORRIBLE!!! The sofa has already been discontinued! Wonder why? After pushing, they sent someone out to take a look at it. The technician took pictures and told us that he recommended the sofa be replaced because it couldn't be repaired. He showed us what he wrote on his phone. I asked him for a copy of the report. He said he couldn't give us a copy. Go figure. He said Haverty's would contact us within an hour. We never heard from them.
After 4 DAYS, we contacted them. We were informed that the report said, "There are no defects." I called the salesperson at the store that I had also been in contact with. She continued to give me the run around... call this person, call that person. HAVERTYS DID NOTHING. WE WASTED OVER $2,000 on a sofa that looks like it came from the dime store! This company no longer carries the quality furniture they carried in the past. I never had any trouble before, but after reading all the other reviews, I see that they HAVE GONE TO THE DOGS as my experience was the same as many others! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! We have had this furniture for just over 2 years. 25 months to be exact. It is in a separate room which does not get much activity except for on the holidays. On the sofa (Piedmont RAF Corner Sofa, Mineral) one of the boards in the frame has broken off and you can see it sagging on the underneath of the couch and can feel that it is loose. You can no longer sit on that couch without falling into the seat as there is no spring support. On the other piece of the sectional (Piedmont Armless Loveseat, Mineral) both of the cushions are starting to fall apart at the seams. All of the stitching is coming out.
We purchased the Guardsman protection plan. Havertys customer service has informed me that they do not cover the fabric after one year and do not cover the frame after two years and to contact Guardsman. Upon entering their store to discuss with them the same couch is now being sold with different fabric on it. A much more sturdier fabric it appears. And after talking to a few people in the store you can tell all of them knew exactly what I was talking about when I said that the stitching was coming out on the cushions. In fact another lady walked up and said "you must have purchased the Piedmont sectional. It has a New fabric now."
I spent over 10k at their store on furniture purchases and I believe I spent 2500 on this sectional. Maybe 3000. For this price and considering the company I bought it at I guess I expected it to last a lot longer than two years. For the quality and the service I just received which was poor, I would have expected from another retailer. I will never buy any more furniture from Havertys again. Don't waste your money on this couch nor buy anything from these people. They do not care about you or doing the right thing when they know they sold you a piece of junk. In June 2018 we purchased a bed, Stearns and Foster. We paid over $3200 for this bed. At which time we laid on the bed in the showroom, and it was obvious the mattress that they delivered was not the one in which we chose. We were informed to lose sleep for 30 days to try the bed out. At the end of the 30 days, we were then able to turn the mattress back in and get another mattress. But, of course we had to spend an additional $400 to pick up another mattress.
We went back to the same Havertys, tested three or four beds. And was informed the one we chose have been on the showroom floor for approximately a week or so. This bed was very comfortable and we were willing to spend an additional $400 to have a good night sleep after 30 days of no sleep on the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever laid on. We chose a A Sealy Tempur-Pedic cool gel queen size bed. The first night or two the bed was OK, but now we’re at 30 days and it appears to become more and more firm as you sleep on it. We reached out to the sales person was directed us to the corporate office. And of course as always, "We understand, but there’s nothing we can do," per the corporate office. We stated that we do not feel that the mattress that we laid on again was the same mattress that was delivered to our home.
I feel, there needs to be some kind of investigation done. In no way can I bed that’s in the showroom be extremely comfortable and then once delivered to your home is absolutely horrible. So we are now going on 60 days with no sleep having to get up and sleep on the leather couch after spending almost $4000. We are in the process of requesting our money back for the mattress. Not to mention we did some research, and found that the mattress in which we purchased is 95% polyurethane which is a biohazard to humans. Since we have had this matter is I’ve done nothing but coughed and be congested and having break out on my face. We reached out explaining that the polyurethane is in fact creating a health issue now so far we’ve heard nothing back and they are not willing to accommodate us whatsoever.
It looks as though maybe a lawyer will be in the works. It is pretty absurd, that customers can pay that kind of money and be unsatisfied with the furniture that they have purchased and Havertys is not willing to do anything at all to make it right. They have the money and we have a poor product. Not to mention how is it legal for beds to be made with polyurethane which is hazardous to a person's health?

All in all, we spent $11,200 outfitting our new house. The only things we have not had to fix at our own expense are the kitchen chairs but I recovered them myself when the fabric ripped. Please note that we have no pets, no kids and rarely use most of this stuff. It’s literally falling apart all on its own. Skip Havertys AND their worthless warranty people. We’ve talked with at least 4 other people who have had identical issues with both companies.

Said: It wasn't bad enough to be replaced yet. But... I could call them to come back, and have it re-checked every 30 days if I wanted to. REALLY?? I thought I'd heard everything, but this is a new one. So all that being said.. before you spend this kind of money for a bed, $ 3343.35, better think again!!! I purchased a portable LED fireplace from Havertys and when I unplugged it, it wouldn't stop beeping, and now nothing works on it. I sat on hold for 7 hours over 3 days trying to get the manufacturer to help. They could not help and suggested that I start replacing parts. Seriously? I then went to Havertys where I purchased the product. They said they would send a service guy out. Never did. I went back to Havertys again and they said they will have to charge me for the service call. OK!!! Just work with me to get this brand new hunk of junk working again. Charge me. Okay.
They never sent a guy out. I contacted my salesman, who is now retired, and he contacted the company and was assured that someone would look into this. No one is doing anything. I can't even pay someone to come out!!! Never shop there! They sell JUNK and then won't do anything to help resolve anything! I'm really upset. Purchased Berkley Entertainment Wall System from Havertys Store on Satellite Blvd, Duluth, GA March 08, 2018. Delivery scheduled for Tuesday, March 13, 2018 between 0800 hrs and 1000 hrs. Delivery truck arrived approximately 0900 hrs - on time. Drivers courteous and friendly. HOWEVER - The Entertainment Console that was shipped was defective - did not include the feet to be screwed on. A hole was missing to screw the feet into the console. Driver was going to transfer the feet from the Left Pier unit but there was no hole predrilled hole for the attachment.
ALSO - driver told me there was a "pink ticket" on the console which meant this was already a "used and returned furniture item". I went straight to the store but other than writing it up on the computer they were no help. So far NO call from any manager or Customer Service rep to schedule re-delivery of a "new replacement console and hutch". I will never buy anything from Havertys again. Trust me when I say the CEO is 'WAY OVERCOMPENSATED" for the job he is doing with this company. Hell - even Rooms-To-Go is better than this. I paid $2949.97 for this unit. Most likely going back to store today and just cancel order altogether.

We purchased an expensive set of furniture from Havertys in November 2013, including a Winchester Glider Recliner, a Loveseat and Sofa, they recommended to purchase a 5-year furniture protection Guardsman Gold Plan, costing $299.99 which (we were told at the time of purchase) would cover any defects or accidental happening to the furniture. The coverage is good until November 2018. My wife and I primarily use the Love Seat to watch TV. After a couple of year of usage, we started to notice that the brown color was fading away and got worse over time to the point it is now a eye sore to look at it. We contacted Guardsman and send them our claim and picture of the defect in the Loveseat, after about a week, they contacted us and said that they did not cover this type of damage, it is more of a Manufacturer's defect and recommended for us to check with Havertys.
We went to the Havertys store where we purchased the furniture and showed them the paperwork and pictures we submitted to Guardsman. The Manager looked at the information and said that Guardsman should have handled the claim, and instructed his Customer Service person to contact their service department and have them review the information which they had received from Guardsman. The next day we received a call from the service department stating that they will be back with us soon with an answer. We received a call back a few days later stating that they no longer made this type of furniture and did not have the replacement parts to fix it, so they apologized and said there was nothing they can do.
We argued the fact that the warranty they sold us was supposed to cover any damage or blemish on the furniture, and if there was nothing they could do to repair the Loveseat, they should replace it or at least refund the warranty cost since it is worthless. The Customer Service person said to wait a minute to see if her Manager could speak to us about it, but he told her he did not want to speak with us, so there was nothing more she could do about our complaint and ended the conversation at such point. I will never purchase anything else from Havertys, they do not stand behind their furniture quality nor the fake protection agreement which they sell to cover their furniture.

My husband and I are so disappointed in the hutch and dining room table we bought from Havertys. We received our furniture January 18. The bottom of the hutch had a big scrape on it and the table had a bubble with a big scrap. Not acceptable. Took pictures and they came and replaced both pieces. The new tabletop we left the leaf in (mistake). After having a dinner party, I asked my husband to take it out. After it was out, it would not close. Was not lined up. The base had a big scrape we hadn't noticed before. Another guy came to see it and patched up the scrape on the base. We're still waiting on the table top (three weeks later). AND the bottom shelf on the hutch will not let plates stand in the slat. We purchased (stupid) the warranty. Well, if they sprayed the chairs and put a finish on the table, wouldn't they see the defects? We are very disappointed in our purchase and would never buy from them again!!

I was looking for a dining room table and chairs and was elated when I found a beautiful piece at the Havertys Melbourne. They had said it was a special order and could take up to 12 weeks for delivery. I said that would be fine considering it was a custom set. The table and 4 chairs were delivered right around 12 weeks. The only problem was I was still missing 2 chairs. They communicated it would be another 4-6 weeks on the chairs. 1 chair was delivered 4 weeks later. I am still without a chair. When I called the store they stated someone forgot to put in the order.
It has been 6 months that I have been waiting. The woman manager from the store called me back in December and said it would be the first week of January. To my great surprise the chair never showed up. So again I called and they never returned my call. Finally, after diligently calling the store the sales associate called me back and apologized. He said it would be delivered January 18th or the 21st. Again, to my surprise I still have no chair. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these crooks.

I have purchased sofas from Grand Home Furnishing (at least 12 years ago) and paid half of the amount what I've paid at Havertys and they are still in great shape. We moved into a newly built home. After months of research we ordered a number of pieces of furniture from Havertys. We were excited to receive our furniture. When we got our delivery and 7 out of 8 pieces came in damaged. Server lower bottom drawer was smashed in. Dining room chairs had holes in them and scratches. The two bookcases were of poor quality and came in damaged. Excessive stain on one shelf and a lack of stain and damage to the back plate on the other unit, One end table came in damaged. A defect in finish.
They sent out their service person and we were told the dining room chairs were supposed to have pinholes in them, part of the natural look. We insisted the scratches and holes in the chairs to be fixed and they were. Told us we would have to have the bookshelves replaced. Not in stock. Not expected in until the end of November and also had to replace the server and end table. Still awaiting delivery. Since then the other end tables finish did not hold up well. The end table lamps have a rough finish, on the bottom, without velvet, and scratched the table top.
The last straw was the Jennings Electric Fireplace and TV Stand. We loved it until the fireplace started to make a strange noise where the fireplace was turned on. Now we have to contact Havertys customer service department again and hope that we will not be cast adrift to fend for ourselves. We have had to stay home three times to deal with delivery, service and redelivery issues. So much for Top Drawer Delivery Service. Half the issues could have been resolve by a quality check before leaving the distribution center, before leaving the truck, or when placed in the house. We question quality of product and service. In all of our years we never experienced anything like this. It is sad because we really liked what we picked but in the long run may have made a costly decision.

On Saturday 11/25 my family went to Havertys to look at sofas and get ideas for replacing the furniture we currently have. We were met at the door by a salesman named Foy. He spoke to my wife while the kids and I looked at sofas. When they joined us I asked if the sofa I was looking at came without power. He responded by asking, "Why?". I said that I just don't want power. He then raised his voice and asked, "WHY?". A little taken back by this I responded personal preference. He now said, "Why? Have you ever had one?". I said no and that I'm not interested in having one.
I also asked him why he was being confrontational. To this he responded, "I didn't come over to argue. I'm done". This was very disappointing to us but we continued shopping. We were then approached by another salesman named Gary. He was nicer but still very pressuring. When we would ask a question he ended every answer with, "If I can do that will you take it today?". He even tried to persuade me to purchase without my wife's consent, in which I told him we're together and I'm not agreeing to that.
Once he found we didn't want to buy that night, he said he was tired and going home. He had been there all day. My wife commented and tired of dealing with people like us to which he replied, "YES". So, needless to say we were very disappointed in this experience. All we wanted to do was look and get ideas, then go home measure and review. Then we would purchase. But we were made to feel like we had to buy now. Why did we need to think about it. Sad. I won't be back to this company and will try and steer any friends, family, and acquaintances from shopping there either. This is very poor customer service.

They want me to pay $99 for them to come look at it then who knows what the cost would be to replace or repair. I could have spent a 1/3 of this and received a better quality at Value City Furniture. Upon delivery the delivery crew just seemed like they were in too much of a hurry and didn't give a rat's ass as to how they put the desk together. 2 pieces of the desk were not fitting together properly and I kept telling them that it wasn't right. They were getting upset but when you paid as much as I did for the desk it better get put together correctly. The one just stepped back and did absolutely nothing from that time on. I, 100% disabled vet, had to step in and assist the person underneath the desk trying to level it. Finally got it done. I purchased some furniture at Havertys (Wrangler sofa and love seat recliners) in Pensacola, Florida January 2017. My sales representative was great and delivery was great, and 8 months later I noticed the armrest on the sofa started to sink in, also when you sat down in the sofa the bottom was leaning in on the left rear corner. So I contacted the customer service department and they said they would sent a technician out to inspect it. We were in the process of moving so I wanted to get the issue resolved before leaving. The technician arrived the day before we moved and he made weird comments like, "Humm that's weird." When my Mom stepped out of the room he made a comment but he didn't realize she could hear, he said "they are not going to be happy", when my Mom asked who is not going to be happy, he told her a lie.
The next day I got a call saying that it's not a manufacture defect and we needed to call Guardsman and they would take care of it. I argued the facts because this furniture was less than a year old, we shouldn't be having these kind of issues within 8 months. I requested another technician to come out to my new residence and they finally agreed. The second technician arrived in September and like the other technician he already knew that Havertys wouldn't take care of their product, but repeatedly said that the warranty would. He also made a comment about the company I worked for having a recall but my Mom quickly reminded him that they were taking care of their customers, which had nothing to do with our furniture issues, what a cheap shot. I contacted Guardsman and filed a claim with them, during the move the armrest that had the issue got a small puncher, so I included that in my claim.
A few days later I received a email from Guardsman saying the issues I had wasn't a manufacture defects and I would have to contact the manufacturer to resolve the issue. As for the puncher they would not cover because it was damaged during the move. I contacted Havertys again to find out what the technician reported and to find out why they wouldn't cover this defective furniture they sold me and I was told they couldn't tell me what was on technician report. Also the lady said she would try to help me so I gave them another chance to take care of the furniture, again I was told that they would look into the issue, since guardsman would not cover it. I received a call today saying the same thing, that my issues are not a manufacture defect and not covered under warranty.
Havertys is TERRIBLE and do not stand behind their products. I have spent almost 8,000.00 with this them in the past 4 years and this is how they show me their appreciation. My last furniture lasted 17 years. You probably could buy furniture at Big Lots or American Freight and get the same or better quality than at Havertys. I'm so dissatisfied with this purchase and I want to let everyone know this is their normal business practices, not standing behind their products. Havertys and their warranty company, Guardsman are fraudster. Do your research before you buy from Havertys, they are NOT as they use to be. Because of this experience I will not buy from them again.

I visited the Havertys store in Alliance, TX and purchased a marble dining table set (table + 4 high chairs) few months ago. Few weeks later we noticed that the table started to deteriorate very rapidly even though we were using it to a minimum. We started seeing streaks, marks and heaving stains as if we were putting hot items and burning the table which of course we weren't. We always use coasters and never put anything hot directly on the table, yet there were circles and marks everywhere which could not be cleaned. I tried many cleaning products but no luck. Few weeks ago I called their customer service to report the issue and sent them pictures but they were very quick to conclude that it was wear and tear. I did not accept that answer and told them that I purchased many other items from other places that were much cheaper and they never deteriorated this quickly and considering this is a marble and expensive item.
Shouldn't the quality be even better? I also asked them how could they tell that it was wear and tear without doing a close inspection? After the call was escalated they finally agreed to send a technician to my home to look at it. A very rude guy showed up few days later, walked in very fast and again quickly turned very negative and started telling me immediately that this is not covered and that they will not replace the table (took about 30 seconds for him to come up with this conclusion!!!). No testing, no close inspection and he left quickly afterwards.
I called Havertys back to tell them about my experience and they didn't seem to care. I went back to the store to buy an additional 2 high chairs and told the manager about the issue. He promised to contact corporate and have another technician come out but that never happen. I'm stuck with a damaged item which obviously was bad quality, had a bad finish or material and maybe even defective but this company refuses to provide or discuss any options with me.

We went to the store, picked out the furniture we want and chose the 36 month financing. We asked for a Saturday delivery, but we were told there were no appointments available. Fine. We scheduled for today, 8/30, with an understanding that we would get a 4 hour window and then a 2 hour window (the day before delivery). Our appointment started out at 5:15 to 7:15. At the time I checked the status, it showed (at 5:30) there were five other stops ahead of us. The estimated delivery time got pushed back twice, and finally we got a call stating we would not get the delivery today at all. Instead of their bumping someone else from tomorrow's delivery, they said we MIGHT get it delivered Saturday (mind you, it was Saturday that we asked for in the beginning!) Then... We were told "If not Saturday, it MIGHT be Tuesday". Might be? How do we go from a Wednesday delivery to the Tuesday of NEXT week... MAYBE?
Furthermore, in anticipation of getting our new furniture, we gave all our old furniture away. This is TOTALLY unacceptable after we've paid a down payment and signed a contract to pay for said furniture. I have bought furniture from Haverty's seven years ago and got EXCELLENT service and quality furniture... That is the reason we returned to them. But after THIS???? I will have to reconsider if I will ever spend more money with them. This is totally SHODDY customer service... Or lack thereof. UPDATE - As of today 8/31/2017 - we've gotten a call (after 2 emails and a fax trying to get someone's attention in customer service) only to be told we'll get a free delivery (that's illogical because the delivery fee is already free). They told us we would get delivery on Tuesday (they don't do Saturday deliveries in my city... Which means they gave misinformation yesterday).
They cannot confirm the time. So... We buy furniture, put 10% down and finance the rest only to be told we can't get it when scheduled and at this point NO clear scheduled time (after telling them I'm out of town next week and my wife cannot take off work that day). This is the sloppiest lack of service I have ever seen! Had I paid cash, I would be in the store DEMANDING a full refund! My issue is NOT that they made a mistake or that circumstances may have happened beyond their control... MY issue is the lack of empathy, NO explanation as to why this happened and NO concern from management to go BEYOND their policy and make this right! So, the bottom line: you sign a contract, give them money and they deliver when THEY get ready to... And well, if they have to reschedule... Oh well. That's the customer's problem. We need to rearrange our lives to work around THEIR schedule!

Customer service said they won't be receiving the parts. Havertys is still selling the item, yet they can't replace the a part from the furniture. How is that possible? Havertys is not a reputable company. I will never purchase from them again!

I have spent more than 10,000.00 with them in the past 10 years, that didn't matter to them, customer loyalty means nothing to them. I will never buy from them again. Be careful when dealing with these people, they will not stand behind their product. I am not one to write reviews but I hope that people take notice and don't get burn like I did.

I was looking for a couch that reclined on both ends. I sat in several couches in a few different stores in the area. In Havertys I found exactly what I was looking for, or so I thought. The couch in the showroom was comfortable and fit the style I was looking for. I discussed the softness of the couch with the salesperson and asked if the couch in the storeroom was a good representation of the couch once broke in. I was assured that it was and I purchased the couch. I waited for the couch to break in and sit as comfortable as the one in the showroom.
I finally decided to call the store to discuss returning the couch. I would do a restock fee and store credit. The couch is in perfect condition just uncomfortable and nothing like the showroom model. A technician was sent out and said that there was nothing wrong with the couch, that Havertys no longer make soft furniture because they received too many complaints. This couch is stiff and hurts my back when I sit in it. I asked how long a customer has to determine if the furniture is right. I was told 3 days. How do you determine if a piece of furniture is going to break in in only 3 days? Havertys has lost my business for life.

I am extremely upset with Havertys delivery service. I had a scheduled appointment for the delivery of a china cabinet and hutch. I literally had to tear my home upside down to make space for my new furniture. I took a day off without pay just so that I could receive my new furniture. My appointment was confirmed several times either by email or through telephone. Late in the evening on May 29th, I was sent an email that I did not see until May 30th that there was something wrong with the furniture and that it could not be delivered. So now there is no provision for delivery at my convenience. I have to wait for a date that suits Havertys schedule. My concerns above do not represent the superior delivery and service as promised.

I purchased a floor model recliner last July. This April, I notice the chair which is leather is trying to rip, the chair has never had anything behind it wall, other furniture, etc. I called store was told to contact the Guardman's policy, contact Guardsman, filled out form, mailed pictures. Then had a person call to set up a date to service chair, I told service person I have a steep driveway, that they would need 4x4 automobile to get down here, service person told me that the man that does the work drove a van, I said I would be glad to pick them up at the top of my hill, it ended with the service person saying they would call me back.
More than a week went by so I called Guardsman back, got the slight runaround from person to person, the repair technician seemed to repeat my name at least twice, then ask for a number of some type. I ask if it was on my claim form. He said no then rerouted my call back to Customer Service, got a very helpful person that said, would look into my claim, that it could take up to 10 days.
Later that same day I got a message on my phone saying since chair hadn't ripped at a seam they couldn't help me to call my store, which was in Rogers, Arkansas. Since I haven't had the chair over a year... so I called the store. They told me I bought a as-is chair. They also told me when I purchased my as-is chair that it was COMPLETELY COVERED for anything that would happen several times while I was purchasing said chair. Just be warned all their talk of coverage, warranties, everything is covered, isn't worth a dime, even though it cost you a hundred dollars. I was about to purchase a new couch from them but not now. They have seen the last of my money...

We purchased the Laramie sectional 2 years ago and it gets progressively worse day after day. During the first year, we had to have a technician come out to repair loose frames. Then, we had to fight them to repair the cushioning that had broken down-this was within the year warranty, but they said it was normal and to be expected! Over $2000 spent and it was to be expected for the cushions to break down before the first year was up??? It took them weeks to come and take those pieces, restuff them and return them. Those cushions have already broken down again. The salesperson pushed that it had the newest and best cushioning-total lies!! You can feel the wood when you're sitting. Add to that, the side arms and curved piece have loose joints and the material on the seats have stretched and wrinkled. The quality is atrocious and I would love to see a class action lawsuit started. We will NEVER purchase from Havertys again.

I enjoyed my first time shopping at Havertys looking for a bedroom set. 1st stop at Havertys, then to Ashely, then to Rooms to Go, then Matress Firm. Plus the online versions. Went back to Havertys to meet up with Tracey **. She was excellent in showing me 'Coastal & Beachie' Light in color to work with the house at Nocatee. I bought the Forest Lane Storage Bed + night stand + dresser in weathered grey.
Promised a delivery on a Friday and all was achieved. Truck and two gentlemen arrived, put the units together not a problem. Turns out that units are very well made, very heavy and solid. Tracey also helped in selecting a good mattress, knew about the construction of the springs-boxes-hybrids and the all foam. Ended up with a Beautyrest Black. Then she pointed out a great recliner - not those big fluffy overstuffed monsters, but a 'Deco Retro' leather with wood arms. I will be going back to see if Tracey can work a deal on a living room and outdoor furniture.

Beware of their Guardsman protection plan. It's a ripoff. The salesman will promise you the world, but if you ever need to use the protection plan, it's a lengthy and painful procedure to submit a claim. I followed the claim instructions word for word and submitted it online and by mail (they want you to just give up) and never heard from them. 4 months later, I called to check on the claim and after 30 minutes on hold listening to products they're trying to sell you on the phone they told me that the claim was denied because it has to be submitted within 14 days of reporting the damage. I had bought the Havertys Gold 5-year Furniture Protection Plan when I bought my furniture, and it's been 3 years and never used it until now. DO NOT BUY the Guardsman furniture protection plan. Furniture quality is good... for the items I have. If you're okay with getting your items FOUR MONTHS (or more?) after you place an order, by all means shop here. I placed a large order **JANUARY 24th** to be delivered no later than *MID FEBRUARY*. It is NOW *MID APRIL* and two of my items still aren't here, and the date of arrival to the local warehouse is April 28 for one of the missing items and "unknown" for the other (I'm told to expect sometime in MAY).
In late March, they attempted to deliver the sectional I ordered, but it was the MIRROR IMAGE of what I ordered in the store and wouldn't fit in my house. I refused the delivery. (This is after the store came out twice to measure my living room.) They did offer to let me keep/trade out the stuff that wouldn't fit at all. (You know, so I can start making payments on it NOW.) No, thanks, it won't fit, it would be ugly at best and a fire hazard at worst. Of note, the sectional I ordered was not a custom fabric.
Also, one attempt to correct my order resulted in Havertys placing an order for two right-hand ends to my sectional! How does that even make sense?? Who would order *two of the same end*??? And how is it that the CUSTOMER has to catch their error when calling to confirm delivery? THE STAFF DOES NOT LIFT A FINGER TO EXPEDITE THE ORDER - AND THESE ARE ALL THEIR MISTAKES, NOT MINE. There is not another way to put it- they are careless and they seem to have little concern for customers and only care about making orders. Multiple phone calls, nothing but "I'm sorry the process takes so long" and a small order credit that I have yet to receive. My living room is half complete now and it's embarrassing to have people over. Thanks, Havertys - you don't have your stuff together, and now it looks like I don't either to anyone who visits. NOT HAPPY.

Years ago Haverty's furniture used to put out beautiful advertisements. I fell in love with the pictures of seemingly high-end furniture and hoped that one day we could afford it. Well, we finally were and when it was time to replace the living room furniture we went straight to Haverty's. We purchased a rather expensive sofa and matching chair. Soon we noticed a distinct fading on both pieces. New seat covers for the sofa were ordered but they were not the same color. They also delivered another chair but that didn't match the sofa. We paid thousands for these two pieces but we will eventually have to replace both within a few years. They wanted to give us a store credit, but I didn't see anything that I liked and the credit would not have covered both a chair and sofa. We would still have lost money. I have never seen the level of fading in such a short time that will eventually get worse. Never again will I set foot in their store again.

I purchased a Payton Leather Recliner Set from Havertys Furniture in Charleston, SC less than a year ago. Within the first 3 months, the color was coming off of the recliner pillow to show an ugly orange color underneath. The color was not peeling, cracking, or flaking, it was simply... disappearing. I called Havertys and they had a technician come to inspect the problem. While at my home, the technician stated that the recliner should be replaced as the color removal appeared to be a manufacturer issue and not environmentally related. He then took pictures of my entire set. When the Customer Service department followed up with a call, they initially stated that the recliner would be replaced based on the technician's findings. I thanked them and then asked about the rest of my set.
Could I expect the same thing to happen to the other 2 pieces of the set as I paid roughly $4K for it and expected a better quality product than that which I apparently had received? In short, had they received similar complaints about this product? My question escalated the issue to management level, so the representative politely asked me to hold while she consulted a manager. A short time later the customer service representative returned to the line to inform me that the manager, who couldn't actually come to the phone at that moment, had reviewed my claim again, and I would need to call the supplemental insurance company as the problem I reported was not related to a manufacturing defect.
I was shocked at this turn of events (especially that a simple question about whether they had received similar complaints in relation to my particular furniture set had totally changed the conversation) and insisted on speaking with the manager myself. I was promised a return call that day which never came. I called back a few days later when I realized no one was going to return my call. The manager I spoke with on that occasion reviewed my call notes, and then referenced a photo the technician had taken at my home that showed an area on one of my sofas that my pet had scratched. The scratch was not related to my complaint of the color coming off of the recliner pillow, but she wanted to lump the colorfastness together with a scratch on a separate piece of furniture although one had absolutely nothing to do with the other.
I literally had to spend an hour on the line with this person, with her wanting to override the technician's finding that the recliner should be replaced, based solely on her viewing the photos taken. I was given every prescribed "excuse" for why the colorfastness had failed in such a short period of time including hair product (my husband uses the chair exclusively and has no hair), cleaning product (I only used what they provided to me), and sunlight (the chair is in the middle of a room and does not face the light source). I persisted in my questioning of the validity of her ruling that my particular complaint was not a manufacturer issue based simply upon her viewing a picture, when she FINALLY slipped up and said that only a certified technician having physically viewed the furniture in person could deem an issue to be a manufacturer defect... and what do you know, mine had done just that.
With the air of DOING ME A FAVOR, she agreed to replace my recliner. She concluded our call with the warning to immediately cover the recliner pillow when I receive the new recliner or the color would likely fail again. This statement appeared to effectively answer my initial question as to whether this furniture set was prone to colorfast failure. To no great surprise, and still less than a year after purchase - I have at least 3 new areas on the sofas where the color is coming off to show an ugly orange color underneath - not, as Harvertys Furniture advertises, any "handsome semi-aniline, top-grain leather," I have ever seen before. This leather furniture is of the poorest quality fabric/finish I have EVER encountered. I have received better quality from wholesale outlets for half the price.
Based upon my previous encounter with the customer service department of Havertys Furniture, I have no expectation that they will stand behind their product. Given that all indications show that the quality of this leather finish is sub par, and that the finish will continue to come off to reveal the horrible orange sub-material beneath it, only one of two options would satisfy my complaint to my satisfaction. I would consider my complaint satisfied with the offer of allowing me to trade in my entire set for its purchase price for a new, non-leather alternative (with the hopes that their actual fabric is better constructed than this "painted" leather offering), or a refund to total at least half my purchase price (which generously accounts for the fact that I have now had the furniture set just less than a year, but would allow me to replace this set with a comparable - but likely superior in quality - set from another vendor).
As I have detailed in this review, I have already spent considerable time being led in verbal circles by this company and do not wish to spend further time in a similar situation. The product that is the leather Payton recliner set is so far below the quality of anything the former company of Havertys Furniture would offer its customers that it should be shameful. At this juncture, I am a former and highly dissatisfied customer.

After purchasing a sofa, chair and ottoman in 100% leather in Feb of 2014 in the Ft Walton beach, Florida Havertys and paying over 3,000 for the 3 I thought that I had purchased a very good quality living room furniture. It will be paid off in Feb of 2017. Last August I noticed that there was some water on the arm of the chair and wiped it off and the color came off. Also noticed that the same is happening to one of the cushions on the sofa. I called Havertys and told them.
They asked how old it was, they asked if I had gotten the extended warranty and told them "no, I did not." They said "Sorry. We can't do anything for you. If you want someone to come and look at it it will cost you I think 65.00," and then to have it fixed unknown amount. I said "Are you kidding!!! You don't stand behind your product." They said it was hand rubbed color and that is "you rub too hard the color will come off." Another "are you kidding." I told them I didn't rub that hard and the color came right off. So the leather is not dyed and just on the top layer. No wonder all of it is coming off here and there.
Never again will I buy anything from them. They are suppose to be a higher end store, but not so. The prices they charge are higher than normal, but their service is below normal. I have read the other reviews and saw the same problem. I won't recommend them to anyone and tell them not to go to Havertys if they are looking for good quality furniture. With what I paid for the furniture it will be my last purchase and I will just have to live with the way it looks. Thanks for letting me vent!!
