On August 31st I called customer service to report my card lost/stolen and thought a dispute was opened at that time. A week later when I called back I was told no a dispute was not opened, a new card had only been ordered and the dispute was then opened. I continued to call almost daily during the 10 business day dispute period to be treated very poorly by the so-called customer service department. I was hung-up on, transferred back to the main menu and never received several callbacks from supervisors as I had requested. At one point I received a call from the supervisor at corporate [from a restricted number] who stated she would look into it and call me back--this call never came either. I find it extremely ironic that when I called today the initial recording says, "You have been a loyal customer for 4 years... Happy Anniversary".
Over these 4 years I have not had a problem and when I do I am treated extremely poorly--I have now been told the dispute has been denied because the merchants verified it was me; I am unsure how they would do that because even when I do use my card I've never been ID'd. ID-ing may be the policy, but it is not the practice.
Over a month later I am told to get a police report and have them subpoena the store's video and then they can reopen this dispute. In the meantime a few thousand dollars are tied up and we were unable to pay any bills including rent and are now in a hotel that I can't afford. Since my "loyalty" is so appreciated I can't even get a partial credit during this process. As we use payroll direct deposit on this account I am at a complete loss and do not where else to turn. Although, it is covered by MasterCard Zero Liability I guess that depends on their feelings about using it at the time. Across the 3 accounts we have we have deposited tens of thousands of dollars over the years that I am now looking for a new place to put that will actually offer customer service.

The sad part is they say there is a screen error and my balance shows $685.24 with Hertz rent a car returning my deposit of $407. Yet Walmart Money card says I have a zero balance and there is a screen Error. Everyday I run a check balance through text and shows my balance. Every day since 09/07/2016 my balance at walmartmoneycard.com shows $685.24. Conveniently there is an error. But in their favor. Go figure. I'm taking them to small claims court.

I reserved a hotel room on my card and paid for the room when I got there. I called Walmart MoneyCard after I had a pending payment for the hotel room for a week. They said it would be back on my card in two weeks but they never put it back. I have called them 4 times and they say did put it back but I have checked it 5 times and had others look at it too and they say the same thing. It was not put back in. They have even hung up the phone on me and had me on hold forever with no help.

I call Walmart Moneycard customer service. The problem was not being able to use my Moneycard on Walmart.com. So I called Walmart Moneycard to ask what is going on with the card. So I explain to whomever I was speaking to which she really was dumb or could not understand what I was explaining to her and I was told to call Walmart hotline. The problem was not being able to place a order on Walmart.com and it saying that my security code # on the back of the card is incorrect. Anyway tell me why I was connected to Walmart money gram?

I have been having a card for about two years now. It was just used as a back up at first but I now get my DD on it. I recently moved from the address that the card is tied to. After moving (at the beginning of this month) I realized my card was expiring at the end of the month. When I logged on to my account it said that the card had been sent out already. When I tried to report it not received, it said I had to wait two weeks. I waited the two weeks. I log on again and it says that since it was never returned it was sent to the right address and I would have to order another one. At this point it's late September. I checked with the people that live at my old address now and they said nothing came in. I stupidly had faith that Walmart sent it and waited. I check again... nothing.
I call the 800 number and try to get a live person to talk to cause at this point the card needs to be overnighted (which ALL banks do if you lose/someone steals/or you never receive your card). I finally get someone, tell her what happened and she sends me right back to the automated line. ALL of my money is on this card that I won't be able to use the next day. I call again. Explain the situation AGAIN and this women tells me it's gonna take 7 business days to get it. I ask her "Would I be able to use my current card in the meantime?" She says "No." "So... I won't have access to my money for 7 days?" "Oh, sorry we can't overnight it, nothing we can do about it." I ask her if she can see why this is a HUGE problem. "Yea, sorry, nothing we can do."
I then ask to speak to a manager. She then puts me on hold for 20 minutes to come back and say that I would get a call back within four hours. NEVER happened. I call back, talk to another "customer service" person, they tell me the same thing. He says "The only thing I can tell you to do is pull all of your money out until the card comes in." I told him "If I pull it out I'm not putting it back in." I told him "On top of that being bull I never got a callback from anyone." You mean to tell me a billion dollar company can't overnight a damn debit card. I even volunteered to pay for it!!! If a local bank can do it damn Walmart should be able to.
And then TWO days later a get a call from a "manager" that leaves a message that says and I quote "well since we can't get in touch with you now I suggest you call back right away". What? Are you serious? I was supposed to get a callback two days ago and now you leave that VM like I'm wasting your time!!! I'm done with Walmart. No sympathy for the fact that I would have NO money for 7 days and your only suggestion is to take all of it out, which you can't do at a damn ATM!!! I will never use this service again and will gladly take my business to a traditional bank.

Can someone explain 578.31 - 3.00 is 178.30. I tried talking to customer service, the dispute department supervisors and they won't even take a dispute report because they said I don't have a merchant that I need to dispute. They don't speak English too well but they no have to be rude to me about my money that they stole. All they can say is the last transaction was on 2/21/16 and no charges after that until 3/10/16 for the 3.00 monthly service fee. I signed up for the Walmart MoneyCard in August. I had my direct deposit going to it. I waited 2 weeks. Never received the card. Called customer service which by the way was very rude and unprofessional. She said she would send another one. Never received it. Went thru the same process a third time. Never received it so I closed the account. They said they would send a refund check within 2 weeks. Here it is 2 weeks still haven't received a check. Called back now. She's saying it's going to be another 2 weeks. It'll be October. Almost 3 months and I still haven't got my money. I have bills and kids to take care of. The representative told me I couldn't talk to a supervisor and there was nothing else she could do besides resend the check. Really considering on getting a lawyer now. This is ridiculous. I lost the card that I had and I purchased another card. I was charged a fee when I purchased the card which I figured that I would. Then when I went to load cash on the card, they charged me ANOTHER FEE of $3.00. I asked why another fee. They told me to read my paperwork that I got with my card and it would say that I would be charged a fee. Well, guess what, there wasn't anything to indicate that I would be charged a $3.00 for loading cash. It said that a $3.00 fee would be charged for loading a check. It would be a check cashing fee. But nothing about a fee for loading cash. So, Walmart, why are you charging me a $3.00 fee for loading cash to this new card? I was NEVER charged a fee for loading cash to my old card. How about someone give me some answers because I am just about tired of "someone sticking it to us little people"?

I purchased a prepaid card on September 24, 2016. I registered the card online. I proceeded to use the card only to get a message that the card used was unacceptable. I then log in to my account to be told "send in a picture ID". I did just that. Tried using the card again to be told I couldn't use the card. I then called the number on the back of the card and was told I have to wait 2 business days for the review team to finish their review. Okay that means I have to wait until Tuesday September 27, 2016 to find out if I can then use the card. I mean... really Walmart MoneyCard. It was not disclosed on your packaging that I may have to wait to have access to funds I loaded on your card. Because if so I would have never purchased "your" card. The purpose of purchasing the card was to have access to funds to be able to use the card. It's sad that I needed to make an emergency transaction to only be denied access to "my" funds.
And every time I call customer service their non-English speaking reps quickly flip me back to the automated line without even attempting to verify anything or even resolve the issue. What if everyone stopped using "your" cards Walmart MoneyCard, GreenDot, or whomever else that's tied into this cycle of deception? I bet "you" would be wishing for customers then but currently "you" are not concerned or don't appear concerned with the customers that are having issues with "your" card. I am one unhappy and disappointed customer because I switched to "your" card in hopes of having a better outcome than the last card company I was using. Just sad!!!

I purchased a Wal-Mart Green Dot money card. I put $60 on it. I called the customer service number on back of card. Talked to a representative and asked them to put me on a spend down. Where instead of continuing use of card, it closes out once I use all the money. So I activated the original card in package. I tried to use it, but was told at a Wal-Mart supercenter customer service desk that I had to wait till I got my personalized card in the mail. 9-24-16 I received the personalized card. Called the number on card to activate it. It said the card number and the cvc number do not match. So I couldn't activate it. My money is still on it, but I can't use it.
Called the customer service number on back of card, no ability to talk to anyone except if you have a lost or stolen card. So I push that option just to talk to someone. They kept sending me back to the automated service. I called them back 4 times pushing option 2 for reporting lost/stolen card just to talk to a live person. Finally they connected me to expenditure dispute rep. I told them what problems I've had. She basically told me the personalized card wasn't any good and to use the original card out of package. Needless to say, it doesn't work.
So the $60 I put on there to buy my two sons uniform shirts is stuck in limbo. If I can't get their shirts, they can get in trouble at school. I cannot afford for my boys to lose their spot in this school because of this company's lack of concern for its customers needs. I intend to take this matter to the news stations as well as tell as many people I can through whatever source I can of its scrupulous business techniques.

I have had my Walmart MoneyCard for years, a few bumps along the way but nothing major. I get my checks deposited every other week and no issue. I have been battling with the IRS for what seems like a life time for my 2015 return. I finally get a DDD for 9/28/2016 and just happened to be on Walmart MoneyCard website to see if it could be there early. I see in all caps that they are not receiving tax refund deposits after May 31st 2016. I called and the first person told me I was OK. So I thought until my phone rang two minutes later and it was someone else from there telling me I was misinformed and it would be rejected. According to all other sites I now have to wait 4-8 weeks to get a check in the mail. Why am I being punished because randomly this year I was pulled for an audit. I think when I get my checks I am closing this account and moving to a local bank.

Have had multiple issues with the running total never matching the available balance. However the latest issue is that for every transaction I do on the card, it gets subtracted double from the available balance while it is the "pending" status. Then when the transaction clears, the erroneously held money will reappear in "available balance". So for example if I originally had $100 in available balance, and then did a $20 purchase, my available balance will show as $60 instead of $80 until the transaction clears then the available balance mysteriously becomes $80 again. I've called numerous times and they cannot identify any problem. Mainly because by the time the IT department gets around to looking at it, the transaction has cleared so they don't see what I see. I have multiple screenshots though. I'm really sick of this. I think I will switch to another card. It's just not worth losing your money or having it tied up for days.

I feel they just don't want me to spend the money I have on the card. I have send them the documentation 3 times already they say that they can't see well the papers and then they say they haven't receive anything. I do have proof of the documents being send and receive there. I won't recommend this card.
People on customer service just don't care. I am sending my social security number and id, and I am very afraid that this information end up somewhere else. Beware if that they will block your card any time they want. I am very disappointed. I would send the information for the 4 time, cause I won't let this company stay with my money. I am angry and disappointed. Would never buy again from Walmart anything.

Walmart MoneyCard customer service is horrible. I made a payment online with my electric company and the transaction went through twice. I immediately called Walmart MoneyCard and the representative I spoke to told me the money would be back in my account in 8 days. He did not tell me I had to do anything. The money was not in my account in 8 days so, I called them. The lady I spoke to that day told me I should have disputed the charge with the electric company and as of that day they could also dispute the charge. So, I hung up with her and immediately disputed the charge with my electric company and within 1 hour they advised me they refused to return the money because a new bill came out the day before and they applied it to my new bill. Now, if the original rep I spoke to at Walmart MoneyCard told me to dispute my payment the first day I called I would have been able to get my money back from the electric company.
I asked for a manager and of course, they were all busy. One called me back and left me a voicemail so, I called back and sat on hold for 20 minutes only to have a manager tell me they would dispute the charge. Clearly, I already know the electric company will dispute it. So, the bottom line is I will not be refunded the payment. People make mistakes. I get that but, when a company will not honor or correct the problems they have created due to an untrained or incompetent employee that reflects poorly on them. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY OR CARD TO ANYONE AS THEY DO NOT TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS AND they actually put their customers in a bind. Go to a Walgreens and get a card there, instead.

It all started when someone hacked my card. When I go to use my card it's declined so I call the number on the back of the card and the lady says "Oh we blocked it for unusual activity.” So now I've sent the dispute form with no response back. AND what’s worse is I requested a new card Sept 9. It's the 23rd so I call again because I need my money and they say "Oh we are mailing another one so wait another 7 days” which means Oct 4 I might have a card. That's almost a month just to receive a card. And no one is helpful that you speak to. They make you feel as if it's your fault that your card has not arrived. If anyone is thinking about using this card run in the other direction or else be prepared for the most inconvenient time of your life with a headache that is constant because these people do not care about you one bit.

After direct deposit I transferred money to vault. Later that evening I tried to transfer a small amount back out to pay a necessary bill. In doing so the app kept failing so I went to online. To my surprise it told me that "too many transfers had been made". Now only one transfer was successful and the website even says that "you can transfer as often as you like" but it said "try again tomorrow". So I did and it still tells me the same thing.
I called customer support and was given the run around about it so I asked for a supervisor. I was then told that there was nothing they could do so I authorized my fiancee to speak to them. My fiancee called and was given the run around about him being able to talk to them. I am currently at work and cannot speak to them again. He was finally able to get them to discuss my account and they gave him a completely different story as to what was going on. They do not care that we have bills to pay and that is our money and are now blaming it on a glitch in their system and don't know when it will be resolved. After more talking to them about the fact that legally that is our money and that since bills need to be paid and that they could be liable if anything derogatory happens from not being able to pay our bills with our money that their institution is holding now, all of a sudden they will have technical support contact us within the hour.
Walmart MoneyCard apparently has been screwing a lot of people based on the number of bad reviews on this site and it may be time to seek further options. I will update this review as soon as there is resolution or in 45 minutes if there is no contact from tech support. I really hope Green Dot bank is watching this as well since this affects them as well.

I have a Walmart prepaid debit card, one that I have had for about 4 or 5 years now. I've recently run into a HUGE problem and can’t seem to get any resolution. I am stressed to the max about it and completely at a standstill and lost for words. My Walmart MoneyCard has recently expired in August of 2016. The company is supposed to automatically generate a new card for you weeks before your card becomes invalid to use. Well they did not do so with my card. Once the end of August rolled around and I still had no card I contacted the company myself requesting a new card. That was on August 25th, 2016.
After waiting about 7 business days (September 5th) I contacted Walmart again to notify them I had still not received my card and because of such inconvenience my rent for September had also not been paid and I had accrued a $100 late fee at that point. I asked if there was any way they could send me funds out of my account via Walmart to Walmart, Western Union, Money Gram, or perhaps transfer it onto a separate card I have that is also a Green Dot card. I was told there was no possible way they could do that. I then requested a supervisor, I was told there were no available supervisors to leave my call back number and one will get back to me ASAP.
After waiting a whole 24 hrs a supervisor in account services, named John (last name was refused to me) called me back which I was unable to answer because I was at work. He left a voicemail directing me to call Customer service back. Now that upset me because once I did, I was told the same exact thing as before, that there were no supervisor available and I would have to wait for a call back. It is now the evening of September 6th. I refused to hang up the phone without speaking to a supervisor right away. I was then placed on hold for literally 7 minutes. A supervisor by the name of Phoa (whom barely spoke English) got on the phone to expedite my problem.
I then filled him in on what’s going on and asked the same questions, if there was any way they could send me funds out of my account via Walmart to Walmart, Western Union, Money Gram, or perhaps transfer it onto a separate card I have that is also a green dot card. I was AGAIN told there was no possible way they could do that. I Explained that I had no funds, rent not paid, and other bills that are coming up that needs to be paid and Walmart isn’t leaving me with any options. He apologized and reiterated himself, telling me there was nothing they could do. At that point we verified my home address and he processed another card to be sent out. That was Tuesday, September 6th.
On Monday September 12th I had received a 3 day notice to pay rent or quit. I again called Walmart to notify them of the inconvenience they had caused on me and requested a supervisor again because something HAD to be done. This was not fair for me and I have over $2000 in my account. The supervisor offered to send the card expedited and waive the fee. I graciously agreed and told them that should have been offered to me weeks ago. I was told I should receive my card in 2-3 business days. When I asked them to provide me with a tracking number I was told there was no tracking number available at that point. I said ok.
Thursday, September 15th rolls around and I still had not received the card. I then contacted Walmart very unhappy and asked for a tracking number again. I was denied a tracking number by Walmart, reason given was for security purposes since it is a debit card. We verified my address again, verified the package was sent FedEx. I then contacted FedEx, advising them I need to track a package and unfortunately didn’t have a tracking number. I gave them my mailing address and full name. I was then told by a FedEx representative and supervisor that they had no record of ANY MAIL or packages going to that address or with that name. Of course I called Walmart back and spoke with Supervisor Cynthia (last name refused) and advised her of what I had just heard from FedEx.
I asked her if there was any way SHE could go ahead and track the package for me. I was told NO. I was also told there was NOTHING they could do as far as releasing any funds to me and I can’t log in and transfer funds without putting my debit card information in, which I DON’T have obviously. I was told if the card was not here by Friday the 16th of September to call back and they could expedite it to a different address.
I am at a dead end. I even went so far as to contact Green Dot Bank to see if there was anything they could do since my Walmart Card and my GoBank card both go through Green Dot Bank. I had absolutely no success contacting them. When you call their customer service number (the ONLY number listed to contact them) at (866) 795-7597 you only get an automated person and it asks you to either put your GreenDot card number, which I assumed was either my Walmart card or GoBank card. After attempting my GoBank card # since it’s the only card I physically have access to, I was unsuccessful at pulling up an account with that card number.
I then put in my social security number and was also unsuccessful pulling up an account for me; therefore, leaving the automated guy to tell me to call back and the phone call was ended. This was attempted THREE different times. Unfortunately, it doesn’t allow you to speak with a live representative if the automated systems CANT pull up an account SMH. I've emailed "Call Curtis" from KCRA news, writing a complaint with the Better Business bureau, and I am definitely seeking legal advice. Anyone with a similar situation PLEASE reach out to me. I would love to join forces and get a class action lawsuit going. This has caused me many late fees and grief.

I have my checks from work direct deposited on this Walmart MoneyCard. I get paid every week. I have not gotten paid in 3 weeks because they issued me 5 cards I never received. They verified the correct address every time. I never received a permanent card with my name on it and I have had this card for 2 months now. I called to get another card re-sent but was not told that it would deactivate my temporary card and I didn't think it would seeing how they had already re-sent 4 different cards but I was still able to use my temporary card.
I have 1,300 in my account and they just keep telling me I don't have access to my money because I don't have a permanent card and there is nothing they can do to give me access or refund my money onto another card. Then they said they expedited me a card through FedEx but do not have a FedEx tracking number. I called FedEx. They have no record of anything being sent in my name nor to my address. Asked them for corporate's number. They don't have a number for them. If you're thinking about getting a card from Walmart DON'T!!!!

So for the past few years I have had a Walmart MoneyCard account and have been using it faithfully. However twice now within 60 days I have been paid by my company and the funds are deposited into my account (trace from my company's bank confirms this), and yet Walmart MoneyCard doesn't show a deposit. Contact support and the non-English speaking person on the other end has no idea what I am talking about and I can't even understand them. In today's modern age of banking this should not even crop up for any bank, much less a multi-billion dollar a year company.
The Walmart reps that you get on the phone to try to "help"... It's actually worded incorrectly as they should put "Hindrance" instead of "help", because they are not help at all. So I'd like to know several things from Walmart. 1) Why are you having this difficulties in today's modern world of banking? 2) Why are you employing non-English speaking personnel for your English speaking clients? 3) What do you plan to do to resolve issues 1 and 2? 4) Why is it so hard for such a massive company to provide the essential and simple things?
As of writing this review I am indeed irritated and at a loss as to why this has happened. The last time this took place it took almost a week for this issue to be resolved and in that time essential utilities had been disconnected. Walmart's response? Well it was a polite but simple "We do not care about you, you can go away now." Granted I am paraphrasing here, but you get the point. So now I am once again facing possible termination of utilities because Walmart has lost funds.

I noticed that numbers weren't adding up on the transactions on my card. More specifically, my transactions were all correct, but my balance listed in the transactions and the available balance were significantly different. I contacted customer service and was told that it was an IT issue and they would work to resolve it. I sent screenshots showing where I should've had the higher amount, including all transactions from the current period to the email they requested. They never contacted me, and every time I contacted them (often days between calls) I was passed from person to person and never given any real answers.
Today, three weeks later, I received an email. The email stated that there was no error and my card was functioning properly. Now, having already been told there WAS an IT error and having pictures as proof of what the problem was, I'm finding it hard to believe that I'm not getting the money back that I already had in my account. The atrocious customer service was almost as bad as the situation given. Mistakes happen, but the manner at which this was handled was beyond unacceptable.

My card expires September 2016. Walmart mailed out a new card on September 2nd at the same time they deactivated my old card. I haven't been able to retrieve any of my money off of my card to pay bills, get groceries, get gas, etc since September 2nd. I have talked to several customer representatives when calling the number on the back of the card. I've even talked to supervisors and the district manager. I was told by a supervisor to wait for it to come until Wednesday September 14th. It is still not here. Today I talk to the district manager and he told me that if I wanted to close the account they could mail me a check for the balance on my card which would take at least two weeks to get the check or I could have them reissue me a card which would take another 2 weeks.
I don't understand how they can deactivate my old card before I receive a new card. I don't want another card, I don't want to wait another 2 weeks, I want my money now, I need my money now! They have held my money hostage for too long. Called the Department of financial institutions, Federal Reserve consumer helpline, and an attorney. I have filed complaints with the Federal Reserve and Department of financial institutions.
Another policy I do not understand is that an ATM with the Pulse emblem on it allows you to use the ATM for free. But when you go to Walmart they don't have a Pulse ATM there and you get charged $3.75 from the ATM plus the card charges you. You go to the cash register to withdraw money off of your card you get charged a fee. You bring a check or cash to load onto your card you get charged a fee. So basically they're making money off of you. If you think about it, the money everyone puts on their card they put into a bank account and make interest off of the money that is put on the card then they charge everyone who has a card, fees to put money on the card. So they are hitting you with a double whammy.

I had a Walmart debit card for a few years and in May of this year I closed my account and ask for a refund of my remaining balance so they told me it will take 2 weeks for me to get it. So I after 3 weeks and still no refund I tried contacting customer support and I could not get through to them because when you close your account they remove you from their system and there is no way to contact them other than by email. So I emailed them at the beginning of June to find out what's going on because I have not received my refund and they called me back within 2 days. So we figured the refund check was lost in the mail so they put a stop payment on that check and reissued me another one and told me it will take 10 days for me to receive the new check.
I waited for 10 days expecting a refund of my money and still no check so I contact them once again about my refund and I got the same response as before so I wait another 10 days and still no refund. Needless to say we went through this song and dance 3 more times after that so I told them to send the next refund check to my business address since I have not the other 5 refund checks at my home address and as I expected no check came. So I have been trying to reach them again because it has now been 4 months and still no refund, no callbacks or anything and because my account is closed I cannot call them. So please stay away from Walmart money card and green dot bank because they're crooks. Now I have to get a lawyer to get my $300 back from them.

Well Aug. 21, 2016 I went to the new "neighborhood market" Wal-mart, and loaded $160 at the service desk, was handed my receipt and left the store, as usual. Maybe a week later, my wife goes to Lowe's to make a purchase for me with same card and it was declined, and she was embarrassed of course. After getting a polite earful from her I was totally confused. Checked receipt, everything is fine. Checked my account and I have a -$1.34 balance.
So follow me Aug. 20, 2016 I have a ending balance of $1.66, 8/21 after a monthly service fee ($3) my beginning balance is -1.34. Also on 8/21 I have 2 other transactions reload swipe for $160.00 and another that's labeled reverse swipe $160.00, all to end up with a balance of -$1.34. Now we all know depositing a certain amount then withdrawing same amount is nothing out of the ordinary. The problem is it's a pre-paid debit (meaning it won't allow you to go in negative), therefore I should have a positive or zero balance.
Anyhow I went to the store where reload was made spoke with store mgr. He then contacted Green Dot and eventually we were all on speaker phone confirming everything. The mgr went as far as checking video surveillance and seen me hand over $160.00 and yet not walk away w/ no refund. Now both mgr and GD Rep. are feeling good for themselves because they're blaming the other party, yet I'm the only dumbass out of money. So I was told by Green Dot representative that I have to put in formal dispute and follow whatever their procedure is. They gave me a case #, and I'm to follow up with a "dispute form". My point is, that it is very clear what happened, I shouldn't have to go through loopholes to receive what's mine. Make a long story short another 10+ days have went by with no response. So last night after counting bills I realize I never sent the dispute form out.
Now here's where it get even more frustrating. I sent the dispute form completely filled this morning at 8 a.m. central 09/14/16 simultaneously by both email and fax. I get a email from Green Dot after 4p.m. central thinking it's a reply to my email and/or fax. No they were notifying me to send them a dispute form. The same form I sent email and fax 8 hrs earlier you're not aware of. Are you kidding me. So in other words my case hasn't even been looked at. This is totally ridiculous. This is my hard earned $ that you held hostage. Yes it only $160, yet my DirecTV bill is $160.
Me sitting writing this is not what I do, in fact I hate writing post. Though being one who's quick to read others I know how informative reviews can be for the public's knowledge. So people should be aware of Wal-mart pre-paid Green Dot debit card. (If this was a video I could more descriptive but typing gets me tired). Look forward to me following up. To whom it may concern: PLEASE SEND MY DAMN FUNDS!!!

The person on the phone cancelled my card and proceeded to tell me it would be 10 business days before I would have access to my money!!! She did this without asking if that's what I wanted. I could not understand her as she spoke broken English. The only remedy to the problem of me not having access to MY money is she can expedite it...which means I am still waiting to use my own money. This is not acceptable. I should have been advised of what she was doing before she did it and I should have been able to purchase a new card at Walmart and my money transferred. I have been using Walmart money card since it started and it seems like they do not appreciate their customers.
UPDATED ON 09/21/2016: My MoneyCard was cancelled on September 14th. I have still not received it. I was told by to Customer service agents (and I use that term lightly) that my card would arrive in 3 business days. It will be delivered by FedEx. When I did not receive my card after 3 business days the agent said to give it to the end of the day and I should have it. I did not get it. I called back only to be told my another person that could not speak English well that my card had in fact been sent standard mail and I would need to wait 7 days. Maybe Walmart employees can afford to wait a week for their paycheck I can. I WANT MY MONEY!!!

This issue was resolved by the tech dept shortly after my post. Although, I do not agree with an almost 24 hour turn around, I am happy that it was resolved so that I had access to my money when I needed it.
Original Review: Sept. 13, 2016
I transferred $142 from my account to my vault and it shows the transaction but Wal-Mart never actually credited my vault. My money disappeared. I kept being told it would be resolved in 2-4 hours, however almost 24 hours later it has yet to be resolved. No one seems to care I have bills due and an OB appointment to pay for tomorrow. The last time I called they told me it's a technical glitch and to keep checking my account for it to be resolved and they are no longer able to provide me with a time frame.
How is it possible my money can "disappear" from just being transferred to my vault? What am I supposed to do about late fees I incur due to their error? No one seems to care that my money just disappeared. I just want the money put back in my account. 24 hours later and it's still not resolved is ridiculous especially since the reps say they see where I put the vault transaction through and they notice it didn't update my vault total. I don't know what else to do at this point.
Thank you for letting us know your issue has been resolved. If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

I was in the parking lot of my local Walmart today to buy diapers for my infant son. I was checking my card balance before I went in to make sure I had enough for anything else if I needed it. I noticed a charge that shouldn't have been there, so I called the customer service number and disputed the charge. The woman I spoke to immediately cancelled the card before I could tell her anything else and hung up on me. I spent the next 20+ minutes calling back and tried to get my card briefly reactivated. When I couldn't, I requested to speak to a supervisor. The first time, I was NOT connected to a supervisor... and then when I asked that person to get me a supervisor, they sent me back to the main menu. I tried again with another person and they transferred me to a man named "John." He said there was nothing that could be done.
I used to work at a financial institution call center. I find it VERY DIFFICULT to believe they cannot reactivate my card briefly since I was LITERALLY OUTSIDE OF WALMART. I COULD SEE THE DOORS FROM MY CAR. My child needs diapers and now I don't know what I'm going to do. I need to put gas in my car to go to work, but I guess I'll just lose my job because someone dropped the ball. I guess I could call a cab, but oh wait, ALL OF MY MONEY IS TIED UP AND I CAN'T. I no longer have any options. As soon as I get my new card and my disputed transaction is back in the account, I will gladly pull every cent out of the account and cancel the card. I will never do business with the Walmart Money Card, the Walmart Money Center, or Walmart again.
I suppose they hope my son can hold up for a week with no diapers. I supposed they assume my job will wait until my card comes in the mail for me to be able to come to work. I am very upset and this is unacceptable. How about, oh I don't know, train your employees to have common courtesy to notify you that your card will be cancelled and ask if you need to access any of your funds before they do that? The only people I talked to are poorly trained and insensitive. This is absolutely ridiculous.
Chelsea, Thank you for letting us know. We will look into what's happening and get back to you as soon as we have more information. Thank you.

I've had my Wal-Mart card for two years, in that time nothing bad has happened until today (9/12/2016). I noticed two transactions, both not made by me, one for $45 and another for $146.85. After trying hard to get in contact with a actual human being; both were very little help. The first was very unprofessional and said he'd forward me to a account specialist. I said ok. Then he cycled me to the front phone menu, and reset my call. The second helper barely spoke any English, and while she was the more helpful of the two (helpful as in actually getting a dispute in for the $45) she claimed there was nothing they could do about the large $146 transaction.
So that's it then? I work for this company. I get paid by this company and apparently I get robbed by this company. Why should I continue to use this card, if they can't keep my money safe or at the very least help me get it back? I'm not one of those non-tech savvy individuals who can't maintain privacy and password security, I keep things very well locked in that regards, yet one thing breaks through and Wal-Mart doesn't care. Ironically I was working all day, at Wal-Mart for crying out loud, so how could I have made these transactions? All I want is my money back, the thing I worked hard for, the thing I unfortunately need to survive. Now I'm out the $200 I had for bills, with no foreseeable solution. Guess I'm going powerless for the month of October. Thanks Wal-Mart!

Per the information on the website, funds for direct deposit are supposed to post "Two days earlier". However, funds being posted is contingent upon when your payroll office releases your funds. Which my agency releases funds early, as I have several co workers who get paid early. I contacted Walmart MoneyCard customer care to check on the status of my direct deposit. However, I was informed that it could take three full pay periods. No where on the website does it mention you have to wait three pay periods for your first direct deposit. There are several consumers who can't afford to wait three pay periods to receive "their" hard earned pay. The three week time frame defeats the purpose of having this product.
I have used the Walmart MoneyCard for many years, but after this I'm done. Furthermore, it's false advertisement to have an product that doesn't do what it says it does. I want my funds asap and I plan to never use Walmart MoneyCards again. The customer service rep stated that they have no record of my direct deposit. Then I call back and she states that it can take three full pay periods. It is very disheartening to utilize a product /company that doesn't measure up to its promises. Now I will be short funds, because your company DID not pull through and provide the service promised. I also asked to speak to a supervisor, yet I was never granted the opportunity. There are a lot of consumers who are experiencing the same problem that I'm facing. If you can't provide the service/product, then it needs to be taken off the market.

Called back. Explained the issue again. The lady refused to allow me to speak to her manager several times.
After I called back a third time I immediately requested to talk to a supervisor. The gentlemen was kind and spoke with me before transferring me to a supervisor. Then the supervisor explained to me that they had authorized the money and it was pending when all purchases were declined on the store end. Walmart Visa allowed it to go through anyway putting a ten day hold on the money. Now this wasn't a minor hold like 10.00. It was a 217.99 dollar charge that I had no access to nor did the company. I have had a Wal-Mart money card for years now and have never been very impressed, but it does what I need for the most part. This tax season we filed our return and I filed an injured spouse form to receive my portion of the return untouched. I received a letter dated August 8, 2016, stating I would be receiving that portion. Come to find out, Wal-Mart money card cut a off the date a tax return can be accepted into accounts after May 30th! As if they never come later than that. Anyhow, I called customer service today and tried to inform the agent that I had just come to that knowledge and wanted to know if my funds had been returned to the IRS in order that they could send a paper check. I could not get any answers.
The agent told me if I was expecting a refund to keep monitoring my account... I had to reiterate that it was not a general refund but tax refund that would have been rejected, and I needed to know if my funds were sent back. I was put on hold and again told monitor my account for the refund. SERIOUSLY!?! I am very frustrated that I can't get the answers I need to find out when I should be expecting a paper check or if Wal-Mart money card even sends the funds back to the IRS. Feeling super uneasy about the whole deal. I'm very very done with Wal-Mart money card. This, plus all of the trouble I've had getting my own money off the stupid thing has me completely up in arms.

I experienced fraudulent charges on my Walmart Money Card, and reported it to customer services. I asked what my options were and was told that they would have to cancel my card. Don't get me wrong I'm very appreciative that they are only trying to help secure my funds and identity, but honestly I really didn't want to deactivate my card at the time. I'm a single parent living from paycheck to paycheck. My rent was due the day after the cancellation my card and I also had a direct deposit coming through that day.
I was highly upset to realize that I would have to wait 7 to 10 business days to access my funds. I just feel that's completely unfair. I mean they are not a bank where you can go in and withdraw funds at a teller or bank so there should be other options if your card is compromised as to get your funds. For example, maybe overnight you a card or have the option to purchase another card and transfer your funds to that card. I was then told that it's out of my hands and it's not my choice to make that my card had already been deactivated and a new one would be sent in the mail, so I will be receiving eviction papers tomorrow because I can't pay rent. My funds will be held for 7 to 10 business days. I will be canceling my services with Walmart Money Card as soon as the new card comes in and I get my funds. Other than that I haven't had any issues. I still expect better options when bad things like this happens.

I swipe my card at two different businesses today and both told me my card was declined. I call customer service and they tell me I have no access to my funds because my card was cancelled yesterday and a new card was issued at that time and it would take 10 business days to receive the card. I NEVER REPORTED MY CARD LOST OR STOLEN NOR DID I CANCEL MY CARD FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER. I am then asked if I may have mistakenly cancelled my card through the automated system, which I didn't and WOULDN'T as I always use the Internet to access my card information to check my balance and transactions.
I'm told that I can't speak to anyone in corporate offices until Tuesday due to the holiday Monday and that their hands are tied and that I will be unable to access any funds until the 14th of September. This is my second encounter with this company in 4 months wherein I'm unable to access my funds with no fault of my own. These people are messing with my money and I live paycheck to paycheck. Fraudulent activities are most definitely occurring on their end and I am completely unable to do anything or reach anyone in the United States to speak with about this matter. Unbelievable. I would never recommend this card to ANYONE EVER AGAIN!!!

I was told last week my card was compromised due to suspicious activity noticed by "the system" which I received no notifications for. So this "system" shuts down access to my card and the money I have on my account leaving me with no way to pay my bills. I called the help number on the back of the card to try and get some kind of assistance. The only thing I got from them was they can't do anything to help the situation. I have to wait 10-12 business days to receive the new card.
That left me quite upset to to say the least. My problem with this is my bills are already passed due and this service left me with no way to access my finances before this replacement card gets here. Why isn't there a temporary protocol set up to get customers access to their money while waiting for this replacement card? Also why wasn't I notified that my card was going to be disconnected? This warning would have been helpful so that I could have prepared myself accordingly. Lastly why is the circumstances surrounding this compromise not being disclosed to me so I can prevent it from happening again?

My card expired on the 31st of July and I have not received a new one yet. I call on the 2nd of August and ordered a card that was supposed to be received in seven business days. When I didn't get that one in the mail I called back and talked to a customer service rep who didn't speak good English so I asked to talk to a supervisor. He then told me it would be another 14 business days. Now, my utility bill was late. I asked specifically when I was going to be receiving the card and they said the 23rd of August which came and still no card. So I called back mad because all of my paychecks was being deposited and rent is coming up.
I spoke to a customer service rep and asked immediately wanted a supervisor. They placed me back on hold and now I'm furious. I explained that my bills are late and I need my money. The supervisor got on the phone and apologized for the inconvenience and said he was going to expedite the card for 3 business days which would've been this Tuesday so I asked which courier to be looking out for. He couldn't tell me so I asked for corporate's number and he told me that I'm not authorized to get that information. I asked why and he couldn't even give me an answer. Tuesday came and stayed home all day and no card.
This Thursday, which was the first, I decided to stop at Wal-Mart to see if they had another number for this card. The CSM tried her hardest to help me out but the supervisor refuse to speak to her so I got back on the phone and asked where is my card. He said it was sent back to them. I asked "how was it sent back to you guys in less than a day." He said nobody was home to receive it, I said that was a bunch of BS because I stayed home all day. Then I asked "what was the tracking number for this package. It will let you know exactly what time it was supposedly delivered." He said he doesn't have a tracking number but then I asked who was it delivered by he said FedEx.
I know FedEx has tracking numbers for all their packages so I asked for corporate's number again because I could not wait another day for MY money. He said the most he could do is send them an email to have them contact me within 24 hours which I'm still waiting for that call then he said I won't be receiving a card until the 7th of September. I told him my rent is due by the 5th and my utility bill is already overdue. I asked him is this the only way I have access to my funds is through this card and he said online but I can't get online because the first question they ask for is the card number but the only card I have is invalid.
I told him this was a bad way to service customers if the only way for people to get their hard-earned money is through a card. I am highly upset at this whole entire situation and ask if Wal-Mart could please remove those cards from green dot from their shelfs. I am currently looking for a lawyer to handle this situation but still currently have no access to my funds.

I call them and find out they have put a temp block on my card until they see the original receipts and the refund receipts. Once they get that they said the block would be lifted in 1 business day. This is Labor Day weekend and not to mention all the money we have is on that card. My fiance's direct deposit is on there and he cant even use his money. I can understand holding the credit from the campground from going through until you see the receipts but I dont agree with blocking money that was already on there that has nothing to do with this. When I called to ask for my money back because the account was being closed, several people who I could not understand half of what they were saying were rude, nasty and condescending. I went to register the card online and it said it could not verify my information and therefore I could not reload the card (I wanted to set it up for Direct Deposit). I called the 800 number and was told it was because my address was too new (I just moved to California from Louisiana). I asked if I could re-enter my old address in order to verify my identity and was told, "no. There is no possible way to do this!!" WHAT?! Anyways, I said, "Fine. I want to close the card and get all of my $$ back." They told me I could not get a refund. I could only use the money on the card. It was obvious the young girl on the other line had not dealt with this issue before and could also barely speak English. I blame WALMART for poor training and hiring people in CUSTOMER SERVICE jobs who can't even understand English. This is absolutely unacceptable!!

I have been amazed at this card. I got a black card and NEVER have to pay a load fee. For years I've saved so much with this feature that cost about a dollar more. Don't understand why anyone wouldn't get it. I have had one problem in 5 years or more. I got a refund at Staples. When I did something wasn't right and the guy said it's never asked for that before on his register. As it turns out it didn't process right there and I didn't receive the refund. I processed a claim. I was send an email that it was declined (nuts) and that I would receive a letter of explanation.
I never got it so months later I emailed customer service and didn't get a response. But I looked in my account and it had been refunded earlier but I didn't notice. Not a good thing and luckily it was only $10 or I would be panicked. I'm a single mom unable to work with special needs adopted children. I can have any funds go missing. After reading these reviews I'm not going to keep that much money in this account. Thanks all.

Just finished getting my money back after getting my account wiped out again. Like others, it was from the target scam. This time, after an eBay purchase. Had to fill out the paperwork, talk to someone, blah, blah, blah. So, here's where the problem begins. Right after I got my money back, they had me on lock down. As in, they set my daily availability quite low. I couldn't pay any bills, use the card or take money out past a certain limit. Not sure how much that was exactly as they did not inform me. It took days to pay bills as I would take as much out and have to put it into another account. The atm would state I was over my daily limit, but I had no idea what that was. Today is my last day using this card as I will be zeroing it out and will never deal with Walley World again.

Walmart money card is a thief. I recently went to a hotel and was charged an additional 173.88 plus another 10.00 for what was pre authorized charges. The hotel bill itself was already 183.88 plus the additional 183.88 which went missing from my card. After contacting the hotel and Walmart MoneyCard customer service over the course of a week, I was told by Walmart MoneyCard that the pending charge or other 183.88 would automatically be put back in my account on the 27th of August.
I was assured by numerous agents throughout the week that this would take place. Well of course the 27th came and no money showed back on my account. I have been lied to all week my Walmart MoneyCard about funds that are mine. This is not a check or a tax refund that was suppose to come to my account, this is my hard earned money that Walmart MoneyCard takes for a joke. I have asked to speak to supervisors all week and I even left my number four times after being told a supervisor would contact me in four hours. Never seen any type of company where it is so hard to talk to a supervisor. Never seen a company who could care less about the money of the individuals who trust them by placing the money in their hands.
I just want my money and I'm tired of being lied to about my money. I live paycheck to paycheck and now I'm in a financial bind because of this. I put off my light bill that was due on the 21st until the 27th going off of what I was told. No money has been put back on my card. I'm willing to get my family lawyer involved if this situation is not taken care of immediately. I will no longer sit here and wait because of the simple fact I have already waited and was lied to about numerous things. Things like the date of my funds being available, supervisor calling me back.
As far as evidence I recorded phone calls from Walmart as well as screenshots of promises on their websites as well as screenshots of other people with the same complaints as mine. As well as my online check history. My lawyer, well my family lawyer will be handling this situation if it is not resolved immediately. I WANT MY MONEY.

I have been with Wal-Mart Moneycard for little over 3 years now. I've never had a problem... Until last week. I logged in to check my balance, and the ledger showed a balance that was $60 less than my available card balance. I called in to customer service, and they gave me some bogus story about how their end shows a different amount and my end has not refreshed to what their system shows. Whatever. First time it's happened. Well it happened again today. This time it's a $650 discrepancy, and they tell me that my system is incorrect and I need to use a different computer. I tell them that I've used 5 different devices, including the one I've used for the last 3 years and they all show the same thing.
The agent continued to tell me that I was incorrect, and the balance is what he shows. After demanding several times to speak with a supervisor (he didn't want to transfer me. He wanted to keep telling me what my balance really is.) I finally was patched through to a supervisor. Supposedly they are forwarding this to the technical department to get to the bottom of it, and I will hear back within 4 hours. In the meantime, I have no idea what my balance actually is or where the missing $650 went, so I have to wait for them to probably tell me that my balance is what they show because they have control over my money and can do with it what they want. Needless to say, I will be leaving MoneyCard and going elsewhere, NEVER to recommend MoneyCard to ANYONE again.

I have had a Walmart card for a few months now. No major purchases or issues. I used Lyft taxi service and they have a policy to pend $25 until you pay for your fare. Once you pay your fare the hold is lifted and the pending charge goes back on your card within minutes. I actually used LYFT to go to Walmart. I didn't realize there was this hold until my transaction was denied at the register (embarrassing). Worse still, I had no way to get another Uber home. Humiliated, I put my items back and called customer service, at this point wanting me and my son to just get home. They told me there was a block on my account due to "suspicious charges". Ok cool.
I spoke with an agent, let her know what was happening--she should release the funds right? WRONG. She told me it would be September 2 before the hold lifted. A WHOLE WEEK. Why? The charge is still PENDING. Walmart put the block on my card allegedly to protect me but how? I asked to speak to a manger and was forwarded back to the automated system. Walmart is sloppy. Their customer service is terrible. I will close this card ASAP and get a real bank. I'm so disappointed because I enjoy the discount at the store while shopping with their card.

I purchased the Walmart money card in order to make a bill payment and had planned on setting up as a method for my direct deposit if it worked well. It didn't. I got the card on the way to work and registered it almost right away. I received a message that said "We're sorry we cannot verify your information and you are not eligible for a permanent card." So like a normal customer, I called the number on the back of this useless card to find out why or what information could not be verified, and the geniuses on the other end of the line "can't give me that information" despite the fact that it pertains to my information and my access to MY money.
Beyond that, I asked several different questions of more than one agent to come up with some kind of reasonable solution so that I could either retrieve my money or make my payment, to which they had absolutely no response but, "I'm sorry." I gave up trying to argue with the service line and paid for a western union bill pay service using the card at a register at my local Walgreens, and then the next day receive an email that "your bank has declined this transfer."
Upon researching this issue, I see that there is a $5 monthly service fee on this card that has no monthly service available due to the lack of verification of miscellaneous personal information that can't be talked about for God knows why. This caused a negative balance of -3.50, when I purposely underpaid my bill to be safe in case some other fee came through and there had been a $1.50 balance on the card. Now my car is subject to repossession and customer service has no answer as to when the money will be available on the card that apparently was never sent to western union, or has otherwise evaporated into the ether. I will tell everyone I know to never use any product from Walmart, or any other product with the Green Dot label again and have never been treated by a company so poorly after seeking out a product!

I have been a long standing customer of Walmart Money Card for several years and had positive service until May 2016. The first issue happened when they supposedly had a system upgrade. I had over $600.00 come up magically missing from my account for over 7 days therefore causing bills to be late and unable to get groceries and medication. Oh and btw I am currently undergoing treatment for cancer too. Then on July 1st the atm did not dispense my funds - $401.50 to be exact. I filed the dispute after 7 tries of emailing them the information and talking to various representatives all with a different answer it finally was received. 10 days later I am told my dispute has been denied. Ok... I have that kind of money to not be refunded to me. I talked with the bank who owns the atm who informed that Walmart Money Card/Green Dot Corp is responsible for whether I get my money back.
So I filed the dispute again and again got denied after 10 days of course. Spoke with several representatives and supervisors with no answers and asked to speak with a corporate supervisor. After going through what seemed like Fort Knox talked to Joseph and he told me he would work with the resolution team and get back to me within a few hours... 9 hours later went through the same thing talked with David this time who told me Joseph would contact me with a resolution. Still waiting for that call, still do not have my money. Will be contacting the Attorney General and canceling my card. Very rude unhelpful customer service. Seem to like deciding whether you deserve your money to be refunded to you.
UPDATED ON 08/30/2016: I have already written 2 times and have dealt with their customer service representatives, account specialists, account supervisors, dispute department specialist and supposed corporate account manager - all of but 1 of them could barely speak English and all with the same line our dispute team/risk management team have said "your dispute has been denied." Seriously - have spoken to attorney general and an attorney... Both say "yes you have a great case" and instead of only costing them the return of my $701.50 it will then cost them about $10,000. Stop playing God with people's money. Did not use this card, it is a ripoff.

DO NOT USE THIS CARD FOR GAS OR HOTELS. Walmart will hold your funds forever. Can you imagine how much money they make just holding your money. This is ridiculous. I used to be very happy with the money card. I've used them a few years now. I never had any of the problems anyone on here described, until my wallet was stolen. Then they showed their true colors. I called to see if I could pay to get my card expedited, as I was going to take my kids to the State Fair next week. The woman said I wasn't eligible. So I emailed them with no response yet. Both of my credit cards went so far as to expedite my cards for free, and really seemed to genuinely feel bad and want to help. Now, I'm definitely not a fan of the major credit card companies, but it was nice.
I had $200 in "the vault" that I was protecting in case someone tried to use my card, so I put the minimum I needed for available balance in case Netflix came out, etc. Now the vault area of the website says "You're no longer eligible to access the Vault. If you had a Vault balance, it has been transferred back to your card." No, it hasn't. It still has $12.67. So where is my $200?? In addition, I received an email that said: "We have identified unusual activity on your card. To protect your funds we have temporarily turned off your card. What you need to do:
1.Call us immediately at the number on the back of your card.2.Have your card number ready.
3.Choose the support option."
So are they NOT working on my replacement card? Or is that just a standard email when they deactivate a card? What is going on and where is my money? I'm so very disappointed - I'm already upset enough having to replace everything in my wallet and having no available money, in addition to not being sure when I can take my kids to the fair next week. I can't believe they allow this to continue. This is people's MONEY we are talking about - bills, kids, homes. This isn't something that should be taken so lightly. The last time I got a card (they replaced cards from people whose accounts were compromised last year by the various hacks for free) it was a debacle as well. But I just chalked that up to an honest mistake. This is more than that.
There's just no communication as to what is going on. For example, if that email was automatic when a card is deactivated, why doesn't it say the correct info? Where did my vault balance go? I have to honestly say now to avoid MoneyCard, which is too bad, because they had a lot of features I liked. But when you truly need help, they just don't care.

Sent an email and didn't get a response. I have reasons why I can't call right now. Customer service and response is ridiculous. Since it was not my fault I never received the replacement why do I have to pay $18 plus have my old card canceled with no money access. I ended up losing my place due to this delayed direct deposit and now because of Walmart MoneyCard, I am frantically searching for a homeless shelter. This is preposterous and completely inconsiderate for this to happen to a hard working people, I wish I never used this card in the first place as I am in a worse off situation. When I called customer service they offered no help and continued to give me the robotic delayed speech. I am severely disgusted by Walmart, their reps and the entire Green Dot card corporation. I get home from work on August 12th to find that someone had spent over $466 dollars on bestbuy.com to buy an XBOX One and wireless controller. I immediately called the number on my card to dispute, since, obviously, I did not purchase an XBOX One. The lady who took my call was nice, but sounded like a robot and told me that since the payment was only pending, that I could not yet file my dispute, since it needed to post first. I waited until the amount cleared and called back.
The next person I spoke to was also very nice, but still sounded like a robot. I spoke to the person on the phone about the charge and they gave me a claim number. I was then transferred to an automated recording that told me that I also needed to send in a dispute form, which I did immediately. I also filed a police report and a fraud dispute with Best Buy (who has also been zero help whatsoever).
I called back in the following day to check to see if they'd received my email, and the agent transferred me right back to the automated system I'd just gone through. I hung up, called back, and again asked to speak to someone about my dispute. Again, I was transferred to the automated system which offered me no help whatsoever. I still have received no phone calls, no emails, no follow up whatsoever. Still have been unable to speak to anyone about my dispute.
The form I filled out and the automated message I was transferred to after filing my dispute says my money will be returned after 10 days after they receive my request, even if they still need to investigate, but I have no way to ascertain whether or not they received the required form or the status of my dispute, no way to know when my money is going to be returned to me. I don't understand how this whole situation can mean absolutely nothing to either Best Buy or Walmart.

I have had my card for a very long time. I rely on it to pay my bills, online shopping etc. On august 15, 2016, I used my card to put money on a account for an incarcerated family member. I made two transactions with this company on the same day within minutes of each one. Well two days later I was expecting a purchase refunded to my card, so I used the app on my phone to see had the money been added back to my card only to see that my card had a negative balance of over 50.00 dollars. I was in total shock! Mainly because my card is a prepaid card and I have never ever been able to go over the balance of what I have on the card! I tried the day before to purchase something that was 4.79 and my transaction was declined because my card balance was only 4.78!
I called customer service right away and was told that the company that I used to send funds to my brother charged my card twice which still didn't make sense because after I made those transactions I only had 4.78 left. When my refund that I was expecting posted to my account they took my money. I told them that I contacted the people they say made the charges and they said they did not charge me any more than what I authorized and that they had already received their payment. I was told that the charges were still pending from the company and I could not get my funds back for seven more days.
I think this was totally unfair to me for one main reason. My card does not allow for overdrafts so it was impossible for anyone to have charge me anything in that amount because there was no money there. I'm going to file a formal complaint with the proper authorities because as far as I'm concerned Walmart MoneyCard by Green Dot stole my money!

The next morning at 8:03 AM I received an email stating that my card had been blocked because they identified unusual activity on my account. It said that in order to have my card unblocked I had to submit a picture ID and that it would take 2 days for my document to be reviewed and they would contact me with an update. I clicked the link in the email but it would not allow me to make my submission so I went to the actual site. Still, I was unable to make my submission. I tried both ways several times with no luck. I called customer service and told them about the problem and that I needed my money because I needed to buy groceries.
All they would tell me was that I had to submit a picture ID and that they couldn't do anything until they got it. They told me I could mail it in. I told them I had no problem sending one in but I couldn't wait that long. I have 2 children to feed and they had my money tied up! They kept telling me the same thing over and over. After calling and verifying every purchase I was told I must get a new card and that it would take 7-10 business days. I told them that was unacceptable as obviously nobody "compromised" my card and I needed those funds for books and this would put me a WEEK behind in school!
I was transferred 6 times! Where I had to repeat my story each time and at one point was hung up on by a woman named Maria. Each time I was transferred I was told the exact same computer screen prompt, that there is no supervisor to speak to and that they would could expedite me a card for $16. Eventually they decided to waive the $16 fee. When the card did not arrive I was told it was shipped NORMALLY and would take 7-10 business days to be received, all the while I still have no books, bills are now late and I am wondering if I will have gas $ to get to work. I have had my card for about 3 years. I had a few minor issues but nothing worth noting until yesterday (8/18/16). I went to transfer for funds from my Walmart MoneyCard vault back to the available funds account and I received an error message saying that I have reached my transfer limit. I made seven transfers and I am allowed 20 per day. So when I received the message I called the number on the back of the card for assistance. It was confirmed that the error was on Walmart and the IT department would have to fix it and I would receive a callback afterwards. Never received a call and had to call back. Then I was told to allow 2 hours for a callback and again nothing. 18 hours later I called back and was told it would be a priority and if I had any other issues.
I told her about an unauthorized transaction and she said she would transfer me. I specifically asked her if this would interfere with me getting my money and she assured me it wouldn't. Well as soon as the transfer was complete the rep told me that the card was deactivated once it was reported. I asked him to reactivate and he said he couldn't. So he basically told me that there was nothing he could do and I have to wait 7-10 business days before I can access any funds even if another direct deposit came through. So I asked if I could buy another card and have the funds transferred and he said no. Everyone I talked to said, "No. It can't be done."
My city was declared a disaster area due to flooding. I lost everything including house and car. I explained this to them and the fact that it was vital that I receive my money because it was clearly their error. Again they said it was nothing they can do and I have to wait. They said "we are sending the card to the address on file" and I asked how can I receive a card to a house underwater. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen.

We've had a card for years, and while we've experienced a few problems, it never caused us too much concern - until now. My husband is the primary card holder, but I have been right beside him as this has happened, except for 2 phone calls. 8/13 my husband discovered he had lost his card. Retraced his steps, but didn't find it. Called and reported it lost, and because he loads ALL of his check on it, except for a very small amount of cash, we were concerned about not being able to access my funds.
We expressed this to the Account Specialist (what a joke). She told him since I also have a card/account we could transfer the funds and the site would walk us through it. Nope. After finally getting through on the phone, using my number, we were told his card won't do that. But mine does which didn't do us any good. They offered no alternatives or help, except to say we could expedite the card for $15. That was lie #1 we were told by this card company.
Didn't want to pay extra, but needed the card. THEN she tells us that my husband would have to call and VERIFY that I wanted the card expedited on Monday, 8/15. We asked her why this needed to be done, and she couldn't even begin to tell us, just that he had to do it. This woman, who was supposedly a supervisor, also told my husband that because of his work and cell signal, that I could call and do this verification. That was lie #2.
My husband was able to get a cell signal, by driving off his job site, before 1 p.m., on 8/15, to call and VERIFY that we wanted this card expedited. We were told we would have the card in 2-3 business days. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - three days and no card. Thursday - a card is there and when I tried to activate it online, it said it was already activated. We had pitch in at our American Legion last night, so I called and placed an order for food for us to take, and we stopped to get gas. I go up to the window to pay and the card was declined. Tried it as credit - it was declined.
We were never told exactly what the screw up was, but the card we got yesterday had an expiration date of 08/20 - and it was made invalid because of the card company. The "good" card has an expiration of 09/20 and there was no way to make the card we got yesterday active. We asked for a refund of the $15 because your company obviously did not hold up to the GUARANTEE of 2-3 days. She refused. Only kept repeating the same thing about getting the card yesterday - which yes, we got a card yesterday, but it wasn't any good! She also insisted that we would get the card today, 8/16. Guess what? NO CARD!!
My husband tried to call and the system told him his birth date and last four of his social security are "invalid" and promptly disconnected him. He then asked me to text him the card number (from the wrong card received yesterday), and finally got through to a service rep, who proceeded to ask him - and I love this - if he wanted to have the card that is currently on its way to us, to be cancelled and then they re-issue us another one? He of course told her no, just in case we do get the one in the mail currently, within the next 50 years.
He then asked if the call was being recorded, and was told yes. He wanted to make sure they got a recording of him telling them that we are contacting an attorney and would be seeking compensation for $18 ($15 for 2/3 day service that hasn't been received + the card fee), as well as compensation for mental anguish because of being told lies. Because the card was not received by yesterday, as we were promised, we have now accrued late fees. The service rep, at this point, then tells him that the call is NOT being recorded and she is hanging up and hung up on him.
So beware, to anyone who is wanting to use this card, with the current service company. You can't get through to a live person unless you have a VALID card. On Saturday, I was having trouble understanding the rep, and asked to speak to an American supervisor - didn't have one. Asked to speak to any supervisor - there isn't any, one answer, and "I am one" on the second request. At this point, I feel as if this company is holding my money, which should be $450 but is $430 because of paying for a service I in no way received, hostage.
Yes, I know I shouldn't have lost the card. Life happens. But people should not be treated this way. It's just not right. I've got bills that have to be paid, so that is why we wanted the card as quickly as we could get it, even if it meant spending $15 (which we really don't have to begin with) to get it here as quickly as possible.
Tammy, Our records indicate this concern has been resolved. Please let us know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.

The charges on my card are often 5-10 days late, and when I encounter situations that require a temporary hold on the card, the hold can last the standard "5-10 days." The reason Walmart does this is so that they can always maintain a large cash balance on their books. They string out payments to keep the cash artificially high and keep the holds in place to do the very same thing - to keep cash on the card for an extended period of time. The more cash on the cards, the more interest they collect on a whole. On that note, I hardly ever get a correct balance when I text to check on my phone. At first I thought it was a major technical glitch... then I realized the truth: The balance on my card wasn't based on my transactions, it was based on Walmart's artificial measure of my account balance.
There were numerous times where the balance was off by $50 or more, to the point where I had to tabulate my expenses on a paper ledger. Why? Because they think most of us aren't smart enough to realize that they are shuffling money to keep their books high, and their interest up. They think most of us will look at irregularities in our account and say, "Huh, that's weird," without taking a further look at the situation. I'm here to tell you, I took a further look at the situation and found it to be a giant money shuffle. I cannot believe that they shuffle money in people's personal accounts like that, and think that they will just sit back and accept it. I for one, will not. And I hope you will not accept that either.

I have been using my Walmart MoneyCard for 3 years and I went to an ATM machine to withdraw 380.00 dollars and the machine didn't dispense the money but I was charged the full amount and didn't receive any money. So now I'm out of money and the limit for cash from ATM has been reached and I have no cash. So I called the number on back of card and speak to someone with customer support and this is the second time this has happened and the specialist that's required to help me tells me I have to wait 2 weeks... I spoke to the manager of the bank's ATM machine about what happened and the manager told me when the ATM machine didn't dispense money an alert/notification was sent to my card bank immediately letting the bank know what happened... So why does it take an inconvenience of two weeks to have my money added to my card when I'm in need of my cash now. I feel someone is trying to keep the money.

I have had Walmart Money Cards for over 6 years. On Friday 8/12/16, I made the following deposits to my cards: Card #1 - 2 deposits of $1,000 cash each. Card #2 - 2 deposits of $1,000 cash each. On Saturday 8/13/16, I tried using one of the cards for a purchase, but it was declined. I was told by the merchant that I needed to call the card issuer.
I called the Walmart Money Card customer service line and got the following pre-recorded response: "Your card is currently blocked. In order to unblock your card, it is important that you listen to the following message in its entirety, then confirm you have heard and understand it. A review of your card activity has resulted in a decision to close your card. You will no longer be able to reload your card. Any attempt to add money to your card will be rejected including direct deposits. If you are enrolled in direct deposit, you will need to stop it with the sender. Also note, you will not be able to open any new cards with us. To confirm your understanding and to regain access to the funds on your card, press star now."
No explanation was given as to what I did wrong. This same thing happened to someone else that I know. She made numerous calls to find out why her cards were been closed without explanation. Each time she got someone in the Philippines who said they could not tell her why and that she will not be getting an explanation in the mail. Also, they told her she had no right of appeal. I have not violated my card holder agreement. If I have, I deserve an explanation as to what I did wrong. This arbitrarily cancellation of credit cards without an explanation is definitely a violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practice Act and Biblical Morality Laws.
I intend to pursue this matter to the full extent of the law and to eventually turn this matter into a Class Action lawsuit. As aforementioned, I do know another person who has been harmed in the same manner as myself. I have just started a nonprofit organization to go after the "Goliaths" of this world who are causing harm to "God's sheep". It is now time for a "David" to rise up and take on the "Goliaths".
Per Sam Walton, "Personal and moral integrity is one of our basic fundamentals and it has to start with each of us." Walmart's joining the financial world has obviously caused it to lose its "moral integrity." Per Sam Walton, "There is only one boss. The customer. And he can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else." Walmart operates its Walmart Money Card as if it is too big to be fired. With God on my side, I am going to challenge that belief.
Per Sam Walton, "I have always been driven to buck the system, to innovate, to take things beyond where they've been." I am going to take this matter much further than where it has gone before using very innovative ways that buck's system of how matters like this have been previously handled. This is a perfect cause for the "faith base community", social media, news media, Walmart competitors, and politicians to rally around.

I use the MoneyCard to pay bills while my husband is in the hospital away from home. I had a remaining balance on the card, and one of the companies I had paid prior charged the account without me calling and making the instruction to do so. While I was sent a new card, the money was not returned. I must write a letter make calls, and be out the money without any coming in that is hard to do. The first operator said the money would be reentered into the account. When I called back with the new card this operator said to write a letter, and wait. I will be cutting up this card. THANK YOU WALMART!!! NOT!!!

I purchased back to school things for my brother a week ago totaling 96 dollars and Walmart charged me three times for the transaction. So they took 96 dollars out THREE TIMES. I have had this card for a very long time and this has never happened. So I have been going back and forth with WalMart and WalMart money card about funds and no resolution. They ended up only giving one transaction but not the other. To top it all off I got my direct deposit this morning which was 1132.00 and they only applied 1035.00 and no one can tell me where my money is. I'm missing almost 100.00 bucks. I called over 10 times and nothing. I'm withdrawing all my funds until the issue is resolved. When they decide to correct it!!!

This is the 2nd time my Walmart Money card was stolen. I live in Maryland and I used the card 2 Sundays ago and within 2 hours the card had been used in Austin Texas, $50 each time 6 times and the $44.10 the last time because that's all I had on there. I have been waiting to get my money back and all I get is static from these people, "you have to wait, you have to wait," well let's hire some people you can understand and can understand you. First of all, they talk over you at all times until you are screaming at them to listen to you, ask for a supervisor and get nowhere with them, threaten to have your lawyer contact them and get nowhere, after reading the reviews I say that this card is a scam and since they have been mostly used in Texas, that this is an inside job.
HOW EXACTLY can they use your card number WITHOUT HAVING THE CARD, DOESN'T anyone CHECK ID and why would they allow you to punch in your card number written on a piece of paper 7 times in the same store... If I ever get my money back I will be cancelling and shredding the card, but I may still have my lawyer take this over for the late fees and all I have to pay to my creditors that are waiting on this money. Isn't there a fraud department, obviously NOT!!!

I no longer needed the items so I called Oriental Trading to have my order canceled. Without any problems, they canceled the order immediately. It's been 5 days and I haven't received my refund, Oriental Trading expressed that the Walmart card won't release my refund for 2 weeks up to 30 days. I called the number on the back of the debit card to speak to customer service about this issue and I cannot get through to anyone!!! $185 was immediately taken off the card when I made the purchase, but to receive my refund I have to wait thirty days??? Totally UNFAIR and RIDICULOUS!!! I would not recommend using this card to anyone.

I just want my money that was on there but somehow it seems to be decreasing the longer I wait. My son had no birthday party because I had no money, and my landlord gave up on my "excuses" of not being able to retrieve my funds because Wal-Mart Card is dumb! So after 3 weeks of not paying the landlord he decided to evict my family. I have 2 babies! I had no other way of paying him beings that I am single. I have had the Walmart Moneycard for 3 years and truly loved it - no surprises and couldn't be happier. Then they did something to the system and the way the transactions were handled a few months ago. My pay was put in the same time like clockwork for the first 2 years - if there was a problem, I knew it was from my co. The minute the computer was down one night stating they are redoing their systems was literally when every problem began. Each time gas is put in, they take out $85 and it's held. It's put back in but stays a negative balance. My pay is now two hours later, if on time, and I never know how much is actually in my account anymore. To budget it looking at the statement is really impossible - they begin as a negative and add the transactions then reverse them when the gas charges (or any charge at all that is a hold) is cleared. Once this took 5 days.
By the end of the week my card was showing that 85 was put back in. I went to purchase something and was declined. All transactions online showed the balance being at 85 but when I called, the wonderful woman told me (finally after some time of communication) that there was 0 in my account due to one of the 4 gas transactions of the week not being put back in and then credited but that it would still show the balance as 85. She said I have to go online and backtrack every transaction, then add it. Both my husband and I looked at the statement and were absolutely appalled - this is impossible to figure out - the account shows negative for each and every transaction for weeks.
I work delivery and go through gas like water - my account shows only these negatives and pendings from the moment my check is put in. I was livid. I was embarrassed and frankly very glad to have put a little aside for the last day before payday again but was thinking I still had almost a hundred in my account. This is absolute fraud. We were never told any changes would affect us so drastically but now everything is unreliable. I am getting my card switched to our bank account (I actually preferred this to the bank as it was so wonderful and the fees were not surprises) and direct deposit going back into the bank. This card is history.
I don't think I'm the only one with these new problems as they have had apologies on the website from the time they changed the system. What a freakin' mess. I think this new garbage with holds, etc is their way to make more money by holding anything going into my account longer. I used to deal with literally thousands each month-that makes this dangerous to play around with. I never thought to see so many problems after so many years of really being thankful for this card. Beware new buyer - use Greendot or some other way. If using this card, don't use it as a moneycard. Get your money out as soon as you get it and pay in cash. Now my golden rule.

My account was compromised on July 31, 2016. They took $917.00, they went from Walmart to Walmart in $50 increments. I understand this happens, the bank noticed the fraud activity, shut my card down. However, after nine days I still do not have my money, my rent and my car payment is late. They want me to wait for another week, this is so unacceptable. I can't sleep can hardly eat. They know I did not do this, it was done in Texas. I do not live in Texas. I am so disappointed in Walmart to be connected with a bank that does not care about their customers. And it is almost impossible to get a live person, and when you do they have not answers for you. I will never use them again, and will probably never shop there again either. And shop a lot at Walmart. Will also report them to the BBB.

This is the second time that this has happened to me. Someone used my card in Arizona and they stole around 500 dollars. They used the card in different Walmarts, a Lowe's and a home depot. The last time this happened to me they stole around 200 dollars. And I called Walmart Money Network and again I will have to wait for the stupid dispute letter (which itself is useless because they only ask you "What happened, Did you give your pin to someone else, how much did they take." That's it!!!) I already told all that to the guy who I spoke in the Walmart Money Network call center and I still have to wait more than 20 days and only IF THEY wish to refund me my money.
And I found out about this because I receive alerts whenever more than 100 dollars are withdrawn. I had to run at 5am to a nearest bank so I could save whatever money I had left there or else these ** will continue to buy ** with my money. And my complain is why the ** this happened again and why the ** do I have to ** wait AGAIN for this **! This Walmart Money Card is only a couple of weeks old. I set a pin over the phone and used it last week to withdraw money out on it by an acquaintance who activated the card in another state and mailed it to me. This past Friday I went to an atm to withdraw money and it said my pin number was invalid. I was certain it was correct so tried it again and again. Then the atm took my card! I called the 800 customer service number and all they could say was they were sorry and could mail a new card.
When calling the automated system it said I had a balance available but it was $2.50 lower than earlier in the day and it hadn't been used. The balance changes quite often for no reason. I got the card back from the bank this morning and tried using it at the teller but they said the system doesn't even recognize the card, like it's not a valid card!
Tried it at the grocery store and it said pin was invalid and card was invalid. There is NO REASON at all for this action and why on earth it has happened is beyond irresponsible. I must access this money within the next two days or bills will go unpaid. This is unacceptable not to mention the lack of support and any efforts to correct immediately a problem. I don't know if this is widespread such as the problem in May of this year or if it's only affecting me? Regardless I need answers and my money and will never, ever use this card again. This should be a crime and Walmart and Green Dot should be prosecuted. If one of us would have done this we certainly would be as this is fraud, theft, and deceptive practices. Now what do I do?

Oh and I'm getting charged a 5 dollar recurring fee and won't be getting a personalized card either. So, how is this fair? Walmart is not loyal to their card holders. I bought a prepaid card from them 5 weeks ago and still havent received my card with my name on it. So I log in to my account to let them know I havent received my card and I change the address to make sure I get my card. So I go to Walmart, paid $3 to cash my check and paid $3 to load it on my card. Now let me remind you Im in San Antonio Texas and Im from Mobile Al. So I was trying to book me a ticket to ride the megabus back home cause I dont have a car. When I tried to book my ticket it kept declining my card. So I checked my balance and see $3 was taking off for a replacement card that I never received.
So I call the 800# on back of the card. They tell me that I reported my card lost which I didnt and that they locked my card up so I couldnt use it. So I didnt know they done this at the time I loaded my check up on the card. So they allowed me to put money on my card even though had then locked my card up. That's ridiculous. So here I am stuck in texas because of a mistake they made and holding on to my money. All I could do is cry cause I need to get back home to my kids. I think we all to come together and sue Walmart for all the funds and fees they have took from us all cause is not right. They have people working for them in customer service who tells you they dont even have a supervisor. And I have them on recording telling me that lost/stolen and never received card mean the same thing. There is no way they both mean the same. Im just too upset Im just praying they send this card on so I can get my money and cut this card up.

I have had my card for a few years now and didn't have a problem until 5/2016. I was sitting in my house and my text started going off that I was using my card in Arizona! Where I do not live. I called, filed the dispute, no problem. Then on 6/30/2016, I was in Orlando, Florida. Received text that my card was being used back to back to back. I was racing whoever was using my card to stop it. Finally got through to a person. She cancelled my card. I filed the dispute, they came back and told me I had shopped at "Walmart" before it was in my home state so they were denying my claim. I appealed, asked for proof. Did I sign? Did I use my PIN?
Every other transaction around it for the next week were in Orlando, Florida where I was, so how is it possible. They still denied my claim based on I had been to "Walmart" (although NEVER to that location which is an hour away from me). I could clearly prove it wasn't me, but they have and won't submit that it clearly was and won't give me my nearly $200 back.
I then have another claim for the card that was compromised with a "pending" transaction where the merchant held funds on 6/24/2016, charged my card 7/3/2016. Funds should have been released according to both merchant and Walmart card by 6/29/2016. Here we are 7/29/2016 and the funds are still held and Walmart card is telling me I have to wait until 8/25/2016 before it falls off. WHAT???
I'm sorry, they are just really ripping people off. I went to see how to file a consumer complaint and it appears that the same dates that I am having a problem with, they had several people with the same types of problems and they have denied the claims!!! I think it's time to start a class action suit or something. They can't just steal peoples hard earned money!

I have had an account through Walmart's Green Dot bank for several years and every experience I have with customer service is terrible. Firstly every time I call I get someone from another country which I barely understand what they are saying and I don't think they do either. The online banking system only works half the time and I usually get a pop up saying "OOPS we can't pull up your info at this time sorry." Really it's my banking info and that's their job to make sure it's readily available. Then if I should be so lucky to have a credit to my account it shows in green print but literally takes weeks to post, and every single time I call to ask about the credit I kid you not they tell me it will be exactly 1 week from the time I call. Even if I call 2 days later they will say 1 week from that day.
Sometimes charges or credits that appear one day will magically disappear altogether and I will ask about it, but the Reps literally tell me that they never existed and can't see that they ever had (so I have to take constant screen shots of my info). I must also mention the ATM fee scam they have going on. No matter where I go I get charged an ATM fee. I get that, but on top of that fee Walmart money card (green dot bank, and 2 other banks they use) charge an additional 3$. Oh by the way if your account says you have available funds of 200$ whether you call to find out or online that definitely does not mean you actually have 200$. Why would your statement say available funds if over half of that money is pending and NOT available? So you get declined at checkout and embarrassed as hell!! Makes no sense to me!
It's really sad that I'm terrified to even write this review because these people literally do whatever they want with people's accounts and money so I hope they don't make my money disappear. It's sad that I am very very hesitant to even dispute the smallest of problems because I know a ton of people that had their accounts just frozen after hanging up the phone with them even after nothing was said about taking such action and retrieving their money was then a long drawn out ordeal which included BEGGING for their own money!
I have no idea how it is that after countless hundreds of thousands ludicrous complaints this Bank or organization could possibly still be available to the public. Now you ask why don't you just change banks? Well I have, but I have ongoing bullcrap disputes which I'm trying to retrieve my hard earned money back. Well here goes nothing. I hope I still have access to my account after this posts. By the way there is so much more I need to tell everyone about, but I'm simply tired of giving up any more of my time and effort to this ridiculous organization.

I had cancelled a charge that was made to my debit card. It had been 6 days and the money had not been returned to my account, so I called the merchant. The merchant stated that my money was refunded and to check with my banking institution. I called Walmart MoneyCard and they stated that I needed to dispute the transaction in order to get it reviewed so I did that. It has been 6 days and so I decided to call to check the status of the dispute on that day July 19th 2016. I was told that it would be a couple more days. The very next day when I tried to use my debit card to withdraw funds from my account the ATM spit my card out and said that my card has been retained and to contact my banking institution. I called Walmart MoneyCard yet again and I was told that when I called January 19th 2016 that I reported the charge as being fraudulent so my card was frozen.
I explained that I did not tell the representative that the charge was fraudulent and demanded to speak to someone because without my debit card of course I have no access to my money until I receive a new card. They stated that they mailed the card and that I should have it within a few days. Needless to say I just received the card today and it was supposed to be sent to me for expedited shipping. On another note every time I called I spoke to someone who could barely understand me and I could barely understand them and they seemed not to understand what I was saying. They were very unhelpful. I would not recommend this card to anyone. Not even an enemy.

On Friday, July 1st, my Wal-Mart debit card was hit with 20 fraudulent debits. Ironically, 19 were to Wal-Mart, one was to KFC. The total was for over $900.00. Many of the debits were for exactly $50.00. Many others had a different amount, but were duplicated as well; a sure sign to the people in charge that there was a problem. Did they call me? NO. I found out about the problem when I tried to use my card and it was declined. Of course I called and spoke with someone with an Indian accent and could not understand anything they said. I asked for someone else and was told to call back. I did and still could not understand the other party.
Forty five later after numerous calls I was able to speak with a supervisor. I was told that it could take up to 8 days before my funds were returned. I was told that a new card would be issued and that could take until the 18th to arrive. I was furious. I asked for the card to be expedited, and after much argument, I was told they would do so and would waive the fee. I continued to monitor my balance and transactions over the weekend. On Tuesday, my account was hit for a $15.00 fee for expediting delivery of my new card. I called again, and they told me their notes indicated that I agree to pay the $15 fee. I asked for a supervisor and was told that there was not one available for me to speak with. I demanded to speak with one and was told, over and over..."I am sorry sir but we can't help you."
This is absolutely unacceptable for a company that has over one billion dollars in sales per day. No other company that I know of has such a terrible customer service department and such unrealistic policies and time frames for fixing a problem regarding fraud. Did that 6 times then I went to the Walmart money card app to check my balance which was $701.00. Now I've been getting direct deposit for 2 years ($175.40) and ($734.00). I was shocked. My balance was $701.00. I saw no transaction of the 6 payments I tried making until I called and complaint. Oh it gets worse. At about 8 am checked the app again and 6 transactions of the pay 5 for $36.24 and one for $41.42. I called my cell phone company. Got 5 charges refunded. It's Tuesday morning. 3 of the charges were refunded back to my account. The other has disappeared. I'm on disability and now my rent will be late. There's more... Please someone help!

Unauthorized debits taken. I really don't put much on this card. It's mainly my Internet purchase card but in the last couple of days I've bought a Redbox movie and ordered things from Wish that must have been done while I was unconscious or totally trippin on acid which I've never got to experience unfortunately. Always wanted to trip on some acid.

I have had a WalMart money card for about 6 years now and I never had any problems the card until May 2016 and the problem is still as of June 30th 2016. WalMart Money Card is from Green Dot bank but when you look up green dot bank it comes up like this: Green Dot Bank Dba Bonneville Bank Provo UT. So far at this time I have lost as much as $85.00. The first part that I lost was in May and I did get that back but so far the $85.00 no longer belongs to me.
I have talked to their customer service several times. I also tried to get in touch with a supervisor and no luck and one time I tried to give one of the people in their customer service the names and dates of all the transactions that was not mine and the person would not listen to what I was telling her and suspended my card and it took 2 weeks before I received the new card in June and everything was the same as it was on the last card I had and then I ended up going through the same crap all over again. I refuse to do any business with WalMart because of this problem.

I have had my Wal-Mart debit card for at least 6 yrs and every time they screw me over. I decide to drop the card, but because I travel for my job it made it easier for me. But as of today I am cutting all ties with Walmart Corp. Because of a major mistake Candlewood Suites made by taking 770.35 from my account - which they tried to correct - Walmart rep. told me my money would not be available until 7/5/16. I pleaded with them as well as the hotel DM because unfortunately I did not have enough money in my account for my medicine (I'm on treatments) and 15.00 left for gas. I was hung up on. Told that the money would not be released. To make matters worse notice - 770.35 still pending to be taken. If posted then I can file claim. Still investigating what my rights are.

I have had a Wal-Mart money card for about four years and have never had a problem until recently. While checking my statement as I periodically do, I found that my account reads in negative balances for most of the past year. Sometimes as much as -$1000.00. Additionally the statements contain many errors, the ending balance shown on the statement is $30.00 less than the balance shown on the last transaction. The beginning balance of the following month is $300.00 less. There are errors on every page. My statement have never been like this before. How can they just go back and change every transaction, isn't that illegal?

My problems seem minor to all the others I see. I wish I had read all the negative reviews before I was dumb enough to open an account. At this point they owe me at least $150 dollars. All for suppose transactions I never made and money owed off the card after closing. The first instance was when I made a $100 dollar money back at Walmarts in which my card was charged $200. I argued and argued with them for my money but of course they refused to give it back. I finally called Walmart and they checked the cameras for the transaction and found it was $100 dollars. Needless to say... they got my money.
The second time was recent and $30 dollars was taken out of my account. According to Walmart card it went to another bank but when I called them they showed one payment to them and even sent a letter for me to pass on to Walmart. And again they kept my money and told me they had to send me a new card because my account was compromised. I had to practically beg for them to give me time to get most of the money off my card, they gave me 1 hour.
After I pulled most of my money off the card there was a small balance of $16.99 and I asked this amount to be sent to me in the form of a check. That was June 7th. I received a email today saying my refund had been sent. BS. I called them yet again and this time I am told my refund was 93 cents. They told me the other didn't belong to me.
I have given up at this time but maybe all of us should file complaints with our state Attorney General. I don't know but they will NEVER get my business again. I took my business to a local bank in which I have no monthly charges and I receive notices if my account goes below an certain amount. If by chance you are thinking about opening an account with them please read these reviews first. Unless you have money for them to steal. Thank you. Very upset.

I have had my WalMart Money Card for years. Just recently have been having issues with the balance on my card changing, sometimes daily, going back weeks. Right now Walmart Money Card shows my balance being $7.54. However, in doing a line item review of my "dashboard" I say my balance should be $438.07. Huge difference. I have also been having the same issue with customer service that others have stated – multiple transfers, put on hold for long periods of time and sometimes just hung up on, promises of return calls, and even being told "your balance cannot be in the negative" (I agree but it does).

Everything was fine (with minor problems) up until May 17th 2016. I had purchased gas at a Sunoco for $10.05. They held $75, then a few days later my girlfriend got gas at Wawa for $10. They held another $75. A few days later I had noticed the transactions were still pending. I called and the girl STACY (Indian) had said the transactions will be posted back to my account within a week. After a week the transactions had completely disappeared. EVEN THE MONEY! I had called back and again and again and again and hung up on and transferred and hung up on and even sent into cyberspace a few times. Finally I got STACY. She told me they have not yet gotten the money back from Sunoco or WAWA but it will be posted to my account as soon as they get it. I asked her if it was okay if I called back in 3 days to check up on that, she agreed.
3 days later still no money. I had cursed out the rep I spoke to. And even said I spoke to STACY who acknowledged the situation. The rep said no such person was there. She refused to transfer me to a manager. After much yelling and the rep giving me their fake info to report to their "supervisor" and FINALLY transferring me, the new idiot I talked to just gave me the same bullcrap. Telling me that if I have a dispute I need to take a snapshot of the online statement and send it to them so they can start their investigation. If anyone didn't know this, as they take money from you, they CHANGE THE PAST BALANCES to make it look like they are right. And I have proof of that. I thought they only owed me $150, but when I went deep into my own investigation with a snapshot I took a long time ago (because I thought my girlfriend was stealing from me) they actually owe me $1,187.47.
With the card I currently have, I have never, absolutely never, have gone into the negative. I am VERY STRICT with my money. I will never let myself go into the negative. On 10/16/15, at the end of the day, I was -$629.33 according to their records. On the Screenshot I took with my fight with my girlfriend from the same date, I had $558.14. The difference is $1,187.47. I have the screenshot saved on several devices that I own and that others own too. This is physical proof.
I'm going to confront them tomorrow and record it too. These thieves almost ended my 5 year relationship with my faithful girlfriend, and I can't imagine the pain from those with worse situations. But these ignorant people need to be stopped. If anyone wants to start a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against WALMART MONEYCARD GREENDOT BANK, contact me, somehow, please. Papa johns of bensalem my boss will understand if you tell him about Walmart Moneycard. I have photographic proof and will audio record what they say as I confront them.

I have had a problem with the Walmart money card. And according to their website they have had 797 complaints just recently for the same problems... we purchase these cards and put money on cards whether at a Walmart by loading it at a register or by direct deposit and then the funds do not show up and if they do they are frozen because of a security block that Walmart money card has put on there... but in the meantime they charge monthly fees and have no way to tell you why there is a block on your cards and they will have someone call you back within two days.
On the meantime all your funds are frozen on a card that you cannot access so now... I have had my electric turned off... I can't pay my rent... and I am getting a late fee for every day it is late. I can't purchase my prescription that I need and I can't even put gas in my boyfriend's car so that he can make it to work. All my money has been frozen for a week and the only thing they can tell you on the phone is they will send my info to corporate if they can get the issue resolved and to please allow 2 business days for this to be updated sorry for the inconvenience. But yet here I am a week later and I am still unable to access my money or see my balance online or through their automated service and they say my card should be working just fine.
All my transactions are being declined and at first they told me I don't have the available funds until I mention that I have an available balance that shows on my card... that's when they tell me they see the funds there but don't know why I can't access it. I believe that they having me and 797 other complaints due to the fact that we are putting money on this card and they are stealing this money from customers and they don't seem to care if you no longer want to be their customer any longer and say that if you cancel the card they will send you a check for the remainder of the balance but allow up to ten business days for you to receive it. How can this be legal? I am so frustrated and about to lose everything.

I used my Walmart MoneyCard account to make a payment of $250. When I went to check my account the next day I could not access the information and they indicated they were having technical issues. Approximately 3 days later I was finally able to access my account and saw that the payment I had made had posted to my account twice. I contacted customer service and told them I wanted to file a dispute. They told me they could not do it at that time because they thought it was still related to technical issues. I waited another few days and called back in. They then proceeded to tell me that they do actually need to open a dispute and it will take up to 10 days.
I followed up multiple times and on the 10th day, I call into customer service again and speak to a supervisor. They now tell me that they need more time for the research. I asked them to tell me what I needed to provide to get this expedited. They said there was nothing and I could not speak to the person doing the investigation. I was then told they will have someone call me back in 1 business day. They have now had my money for 20 days. It is not my fault that they had system issues or waited 10 days in to file a dispute with the company. Most companies would credit you back the money and if it is not a valid dispute take the money back. I have never had such an issue in my life. If I owed them money you would bet they would have more urgency about getting the issue resolved.

I had the most terrible experience this month with this card. I waited for 4 hours for my direct deposit to kick in on my account. When I went to my ATM and tried to withdraw my disability benefits, it said I had exceeded the amount of pin entries so I figured maybe I saw that prompt wrong and re-entered it once more (that would make only 2 attempts). I got the same message. I was in horror! I had a trip to attend in one hour, people waiting for me patiently, to drive me to my destination and more... so I go to Walmart to try my card there, only to find out there was some strange code coming up and kicking it out their systems. The personnel were very attentive and compassionate to my issue there. Still waiting for an answer, I called the store customer service manager who made another call to the cards' customer service personnel whom hung up in her face several times!!!
I was angry now, (and so was she), and wanting to throw up, because of my nervousness. Finally called the customer service administrative supervisor who gave me the runaround and bogus excuses, and saying it was all my error! I screamed now. I am about to be seriously in debt to quite a few people plus my trip will be canceled!!! They explain after all this incompetency that now my card has a 24-hour lock on it and mind you now it's about 4 am. WOW!!! May 13th, 2016 at 3am in the morning is when I reported a strange purchase on my account before leaving for work. I called customer service to report that I had a purchase of $125.00 taken out of my account, which I took notice after checking my statements online. I then asked the customer rep to take it off of my statement. The customer service rep, immediately stated that there was fraudulent activity and that she had to send me out a new card. I acknowledged what she said and told her that I didn't want my card cancelled just yet, because I was expecting my direct deposit that morning and I wanted to make sure that I could get all of my money out before she cancelled my card.
She expressively and understandably told me that my card WOULD NOT GET CANCELLED, but that my funds would just be transferred to the new card once I received the new card in the mail and activated it, which she added would take a total of two weeks. Upon this agreement we ended the call. Later that morning after trying to swipe my debit card at work the cashier told me that my card was declined. I immediately called the Walmart Money Center thinking that my direct deposit didn't hit my card, and that the decline was due to insufficient funds, but they actually cancelled my debit card without my permission.
I asked the customer service rep could she reopen my account considering this wasn't my fault, and I didn't give the prior service rep permission to cancel my card. The service rep refused and said that they have to automatically cancel the card as soon as fraud is reported. I then said, you have to have other options to compensate me for this confusion. I asked could they overnight me a new debit card through the mail so that I can access my money so that I could pay my rent that was due, and feed my baby. The service rep then said they didn't provide that service with that card that I had, which is the black card with the visa logo (Green Dot). She mentioned that I would have to wait the complete (2) weeks and that the card will be sent out the same day (May 13th 2016) to get to me before or by May 27th, 2016 .
After repeatedly calling and trying to get answers as to how I could access my money I was finally able to transfer one thousand dollars to another Walmart card upon direction of one of the service reps to pay part of my rent and my child care, but after that I had no more access to my available funds until my new card came in the mail. I wasn't able to transfer my funds right away, I had to wait until the following week Wednesday May 18th, 2016 because their systems were down, and they were going through technical issues with their online services and phone services.
It is now June 1, 2016, and I still have not received my debit card in the mail. My card was supposed to be delivered on Friday May 27th, 2016 as promised. I called to follow up, they then moved the date to May 31st, 2016, stating that they didn't send my new card off until May 16th, 2016. So not only did I not receive my card on the agreed upon due date, but the reps were all giving me different answers. I have called several times, and requested to speak with a manager or someone responsible for tracking the cards sent out, but the customer reps refused to let me speak to anyone other than who I was speaking to on the phone. They said that no one could help me and that everyone is just going to continue telling me the same exact thing.
One rep told me if she transfers me to speak to a manager or card specialist that she was going to cancel my debit card that was in route, and I would have to wait another (2) weeks before receiving my available funds. The reps are VERY unprofessional, and I can barely understand them through their strong foreign accents. None of the reps could tell me their policies and procedures without putting me on hold for two or three minutes at a time. I even had a rep that pretended that she couldn't hear me after she refused to give me any answers, and then hung the phone up on me. Another rep pretended to transfer me to their manager. I ended up staying on hold for 1 whole hour, and no one ever answered the phone.
It is now almost a complete three weeks without me having access to my money. I have no money for gas, food for my baby or myself, rent, child care, or bills. I am a single mother that lives paycheck to paycheck, and I depended on this card to receive my direct deposits. I now have two paychecks that have been deposited to my account that I currently cannot access. I am completely backed up in all of my bills now, leaving me to pay double the amount that's currently due on all my bills. My phone is actually scheduled to be turned off tomorrow. Not to mention, I just received an order from my apartment complex to show up to court for late rent for the month of May after making prior payment arrangements. Now my rent for the month of June is actually due TODAY, and still NO DEBIT CARD or access to my account! SMH.
This issue is absolutely disturbing; I will be reporting Walmart and Walmart MoneyCard services to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and the media. This issue has also forced me seek counsel (lawyer). I advise anyone else that is going through this same issue with the Walmart MoneyCard to do the same if you're like me and want immediate answers!
