To anyone who is a veteran and looking for a home loan, Veterans United Home Loans is the answer. I have been in the real estate law business for almost 30 years, so I have seen just about everything. I didn't know what to expect when I made loan application with Veterans United. Honestly, I was not expecting things to go flawlessly. I could not have asked for a better experience. Everyone, in the loan process, was in constant communication. There were not any surprises. The team was so pleasant. The icing on the cake was that our loan even closed early. We were able to move into our dream home a week earlier than expected.

I would fully and wholeheartedly recommend VU for any Veteran looking to purchase or refinance. This team of professionals know how to do it correctly and precisely. The manner in which they performed was absolutely stellar.

Veterans United is absolutely the way to go for VA loans. I had initially worked with a few other banks as I was shopping for the best rate. When it comes down to it, Veterans United knows the VA loan system inside and out, and we had a very specific situation we had to deal with since we are retiring from the military and moving across the country to our newly constructed home. All kinds of pitfalls that other banks ended up wrapped up on. I came to Veterans United and they navigated our specifics with ease! Absolutely outstanding customer service. We used Rob’s team to buy our house and refinance it. They made it incredibly simple for us and took care of as much paperwork for us as they could to ease the process. These folks are there to help you through the process of buying and financing a home. They have teams of people that are there to work for you and take the stress out of buying a home. Everything is done online so it reduces all that paperwork, and they make closing so simple because almost everything is signed before you go to closing. I was in a sticky situation. My landlord gave me 30 days notice to move out because he was selling the house (I was on month to month rent since I lived there for 5 years). So I called VU and gave them the scoop. They gave me a pre-approval that day. As of Oct 4th I now own my own home. A little over 30 days. If you have your ducks in a row it can be done. Did a cash out IRRL and it was completed promptly. Nyk and his team did a wonderful job. The appraisal was a little low in my opinion from the VA but that's doesn't reflect on the company. Fees were a little high based on closings I have had in the last but not unreasonable.

My wife and I just had the worst experience of our home buying lives with Veterans United Home Loans, so please do yourselves a favor and go ANYWHERE else! So with this crazy housing market we thought we were doing the smart thing of getting preapproved for a mortgage, and yet it still took 5 weeks to get final approval! We found out Veterans was planning on selling our mortgage the second we closed on it, so they put us through HELL making sure the purchasing company did not fault I am guessing. We went through underwriting at least 8 times, coming out with stupid questions like “did you pay March and February's house payment?”. They asked this in May, so why not ask about April, or any month? Why does it matter, the house is paid off, the money is in the bank, my credit score is 800, SO WFT? Since they took so long, 5 weeks wasn't really enough so Veterans called the seller's agent to get 5 more days extension.

The process working with the VA for the first time was great! The team helped a lot and were incredibly patient. If anyone who is a veteran is looking to get into their first home there is honestly no better option. I do not regret it and if I ever plan on getting another I know where I'll be going.
