In May 2007, I purchased a 2005 Toyota Sienna. With interest and finance charges, the car (with trade in) cost $54,000. I am currently paying $750.84 a month for a car that now has over 80,000 miles, has over anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000 worth of work. Much of it paid for by me and one recall that I wasn't informed of until after I purchased it. The present payoff for the car is around $24,000. I have paid close to $30,000 for this car. Toyota conned me out of over $800 when they were supposed to repair my car by replacing the key.
When I left the dealership's service area, my car shut off after they supposedly repaired. Later, it was determined that it needed an alternator. Now, after I have spent over $30,000 for this car and recently paid $900.54 on 12/4/2010 and plan to pay another $800 on 12/30/2010, they're harassing with a Notice of Right To Cure Your Default Letter. They're asking for an additional $1402.66 plus December's payment of $750.84 by 1/03/2011. This is even though the letter dated 12/22/2010 reached me on 12/27/2010. There are also indications that they are discriminating against Black customers by offering them used cars instead of new ones and marking up the finance contract's interest rates and monthly payments on Black customers.

I have had my Hyundai financed through Toyota now for three years at a ridiculous high interest rate due to my credit being a mess then. First, I was told to come back after one year and refinance, I did and they said to wait more so I did. I have tried every year for three years to get this interest rate changed and to get a car that would suit my family. The one I have is a small compact car that I had to settle for due to payment and interest. Now after having not even been notified after this last attempt to get another vehicle.
I am at risk of losing the high interest vehicle I have and Toyota does not seem to be willing to help in the least. I am unemployed now and have two kids that depend on me. With all the bailout the car companies have gotten, it still seems to make it hard on the ones that are trying. I have had perfect credit with this payment until now and they are still looking at the bottom number. Well the bottom number does not reflect the hardships I have had to endure to make this stupid car payment for the last three years and doing without sometimes. I just wanted to say the creditors and dealers are so unfair to the people that are trying to be honest and fair in this life and get the short end of the stick as always.

When I bought the car, I never received the car paper. Complaint, never received. On August 26, the last form was faxed to me and it was faxed to them on August 26. I have called and spoke with one of the representative in which confirmed me that my next payment was to start on Sept. 21st and the check was mailed on the 19th of September. On 28th, Toyota came and repossessed the car, a 2007 Rav4. I am requesting an investigation to be done on the paperwork which I have never received from them either to see what kind of loan was given to me.

I have a car loan with Toyota Financial Services with a 20% interest rate on my auto loan. I am African American male and another white male in there customer service department told me that he thinks that's why my interest rate is so high. He also said they never should have financed me but my income allowed it.
I feel that I am being taken advantaged of. I needed a car so I was not thinking about the long term. I really think this needs to be addressed but they will not listen to me at all. Twenty percent is a very high interest rate and the gentleman said this is the highest he has ever seen working for the company. If there is anything that can be done, please reply with a call or an email. I look forward to hearing from someone. I think this is unfair to me and anyone going through this. They have turned down other people with better credit than me and this should be addressed.

I leased a Toyota Siena van in 2005 for 5 years lease. A typical walk-in to a dealer and trading in my big conversion van, where a car dealer welcomes you, and for 1 hour after gaining your trust and sitting on a table signing up a deal. Dealers verbally go over the lease/purchase contract since there are many papers to sign and each has fine lines. You as a customer after spending the hour and so at the dealer, you get to trust the dealer and sign the papers.
This process easily generates money to any dealer by selling many cars in a day, granting 99.99% of the customer do not read the contract, for three reasons, 1) They will not understand it, 2) The number of pages they have to read, 3) The dealer went over the contract with the customer?! While ideally, the customer have two options, 1) Bring a lawyer to help with signing of the deal, 2) Customer take home all the papers needed to be signed of and read them carefully and when satisfied, come back to dealer. This will cause a drop with the dealers sales tremendously!
In my case, after 5 years, the lease ended in September 1. I returned the van to Toyota dealer on Brook Park road, and sales people kept saying that I do not have to clean or detail the van. 3 weeks later, I received a bill from dealer (Toyota Financial) charging me $500 for excessive wear, where there is no dents or broken parts. I am charged for corrosion in the tire rims! In addition, I was charged .30 cent per additional mile, while according to the sales person I will be charged .15 cent per additional mile.
I called Toyota Financial, and first thing, they asked me if I did read the contract? The contract which the dealer verbally went over it while leasing the van! This is cheating, betraying and illegal by bluffing the consumers. I did lease from GM and they never charged me for excessive ear, actually they waved the cost of the 1,000 miles which I went over. I know I will lose the argument with Toyota, but I feel consumer like us should be protected from dealers like Toyota, and should be posted on the news as an awareness.

I have been a very loyal customer to Toyota. I have purchased two Camrys and now that I need help with the balance of my first Toyota that was a total loss, I can't even get the financial department to return my call. I'm a young United States sailor and I don't have $5700 to pay by 22nd of September. All I'm asking is to work out a balance payment plan without sending this bill to collections.

I am currently purchasing a Toyota and financing it through Southeast Toyota Financing. I'm currently $100 past due. For the past two weeks, I have been getting annoying calls from variations of the phone number above early morning thru past 9 at night. Every single time I answer I get about 20 seconds into the call and we get disconnected. This has happened almost 2 dozen times. At first, I had no idea that it was Toyota and googled the phone number and many customers have had the same exact problem. They get a call, verify who they are, and before anything else can transpire or confirm what company is calling it gets disconnected. I finally received a call one morning on my way to work.
Again, I patiently listened to the "this call may be recorded for quality purposes," and once gain before he was even through he said hello and hung up. I'm not sure if this is a technical problem on their phones or if their workers are just used to being hung up on regularly but it is very annoying. I finally demanded to speak to a manager to at least make him aware of the situation.
And basically I got the runaround, pay your bills and you wouldn't get a call from us. They were very rude assumed just because I owed a mere $100 that I was a liar and had no business to address this issue with them. They kept saying it's not our intention to do this. Whether it's their intention or not it's happening to me and from Google, it's happening loads of times. I'm sick of getting calls and getting hung up on even after I insist I will pay them as soon as I get paid.

I have been trying to get a payment to be applied to my Toyota account for the last almost three months and I keep getting the runaround. They keep asking me to send statements to a fax number and I have sent it three times and nothing gets done. I continue getting collection calls for being late with a payment that they have; it's just misapplied to another customer's account and that was verified by one of Toyota's representatives. I have made many calls to resolve this problem and still no help.

My car was impounded by the police dept on Feb. 2, 2008. (Reason not specified at this time.) My car was later turned over to Toyota Financial. My payments were not in default but Toyota Financial willing accepted my payments upon realizing the police were wrong for taking my car. Toyota Financial stated the reason that they took my car was due to a breach of contract. Toyota Financial attempted to cover up their mistake by returning one of two payments that I made during the repossession. Eventually, Toyota Financial repossessed my car and then sold it. My car was never at risk of forfeiture or involved in any wrong doing.

My 18 year-old daughter purchased a used car from a Toyota Dealership in Eugene, OR last year. Her father co-signed the loan for her. He is a Navy Seal. He was sent to Afghanistan after the purchase of the vehicle. My daughter became delinquent in her payments. She made payment arrangements and was in the process of catching up. She didn't get a payment in on the day promised, due to their insistence that she wire the money combined with banking hour limitations.
The car was repossessed, in spite of the fact that the "Soldiers' and Sailors' Civil Relief Act of 1940" clearly states that if a Service Member is unable to comply to financial obligations due to military service, all legal actions must be supspended until such time that the Service Member is no longer materially impaired by active duty. Upon contacting them, I was told that they really couldn't do anything about it.
Now, my daughter doesn't have transportation to and from work (I live in a different state and am unable to provide transportation). Her father's credit has been adversely (and illegally) affected. It amazes me that a man can go to another country and participate in a war to protect our nation's way of life - and the very people he is protecting will stab him in the back because he isn't here to defend himself.
Toyota has no choice in the matter. It must abide by the law. Tina should contact her Congressman -- Rep. Doc Hastings (R-WA 4th) -- and ask that he assist her in communicating forcefully with Toyota.

In October of 1998 I purchased a 1998 Toyota Avalon through Toyota Financial Services. I make monthly payments of $517.17. I owed the payments for the months of June and July, which payments were mailed on July 30, 2001 along with the late fee.
On July 30, 2001, I went to pick up my son at the baby sitter and when I came out, my car was gone. I was told by some woman that the car was towed away. I then called the Elizabeth Police Department and they informed me that the car was repossessed. I never received notice from Toyota that my car was going to be repossessed, never received notice that I was in default. They claim they called me at work but I never received any calls from them. They did not try and contact me at home either.
When I contacted Toyota the next morning I was told that in order to get my car back I had to pay them the full amount owed to them and I had to wait approximately two weeks to receive a letter from them and that they could not discuss this matter with me any further. I explained to him that I had proof that the money orders were sent to them and that I was only really a month late because July was due on July 20, 2001 and I have a ten-day grace period. He said that was not his problem that even if I could prove that the payments were made once the car is reposed the only way to get it back is to pay them the full amount owed.
I have sacrificed for 2 1/2 years paying this car for an approximate total of $15,000 that I have already paid for them to take it from me for only two payments. No notice no phone call, nothing. I was left stranded with my six-month-old baby and all my belongings were taken along with my car.
When I went to pick up my belongings, I was told that I was not allowed to remove my things that they had to do it for me. They treated me as if I were a delinquent and insulted my husband as well.

Totota Motor Credit of Anaheim is making serious accounting errors that in my case were in the thousands of dollars missing from my account. They claimed that the payment had not been received, but we had copies of the cashed checks pulled from our bank. The very same has happened to my mother-in-law.

Bought 1997 Toyota Camry from Mr. Efron 12/12/2000. Mr. Efron buys vehicles at auction. This vehicle was leased by Toyota Finance prior to auction as a private lease. The vehicle had 37,121 miles. Two days after the 90-day warranty expired, the check engine light came on.
On inspection it was revealed that this car had bad compression in two cylinders as a result of enormous sludge deposits. Toyota of USA refused to service and repair under its drive-train warranty claiming lack of maintenance. Mr. Efron declined to share in the costs of replacing the engine which was recommended. Apparently the car was dumped on the auction block by Toyota Finance without proper maintenance or the odometer was turned back to have that much sludge in it.
The economic consequences are we will have to replace the engine. Estimates have been as high as $8,500. We have be rejected by three Toyota dealerships and Toyota of USA in regards to honoring their warranty. We have taken time from work to drive this car to the dealerships. We have had to borrow cars to get to work. We have been emotionally exhausted dealing with Toyota, Mr. Efron and the dealerships. We have only had the car 4 months. It has less than 40,000 miles and we have maint. records for the period that we have had it.

It started when I first purchased the lease and it took them several months to straighten it out. I gave them a cashier check for $1000 and also gave them cash which a young guy name Mike took. They finally found the check in the office after four months and updated the account in 2/00/00. I was told that I only owed somewhere between 75 cents and a dollar the way they figured it out and that was due for the month of March 00.
Since then I have always paid. If late the payments still gets there. I was laid off but still managed to pay. I just recently sent a payment of $500 which they should receive by 11/13/00. They still would not update my info and kept telling me they didn't give a damn. I have all my cashier checks and not one time have they been sending information to my p.o.b. (statements), but i continue to send them the payments no matter what.
My car was taken from my job 11/13/00 at 1:55 a.m. and I have no means of transportation. My purse was inside my car, my identification and my credit cards and $200 cash was in my wallet and there is also a gun inside the purse which is my spouse's. I have purchased new Christmas toys that I had in the trunk along with a new coat, my Primco cell phone and speed radar.

I believe my car was illegally repossessed by Toyota. In July 1999 my license was suspended for DUI and when my car insurance was to renew I couldn't renew because I had no license. I continued making payments on the car. In December my car was repossessed.
In July 2000 I tried to get in touch with Toyota to find out where my car was since I had put $6000, down and paid monthly for 3 years and felt I was entitled to compensation for at least part of it. I was given the runaround by everyone at the dealership and the credit corp. It was suggested I wrote to Ed Turon for this info and I did so on 8-7-00 mailing it registered, return receipt. To this date I have not received a response.

In late 1998 someone stole my Social Security number and opened many accounts using my name and their work information on address. Toyota Motor Credit allowed this person to purchase a Lexus, which I help them get back when I contacted them about the fraud. Now they have me in collection for about $6,000. I am not sure what this money was for. I have contacted their collection department with the information I have and they refuse to take the information off my credit what can I do?
I now have bad credit and cannot purchase a house. I am also being refused for a car loan. My credit will be destroyed if this item is not removed.
Cheryl needs to send a certified, return-receipt-requested letter to Toyota, the collection agency and the credit reporting bureau explaining the circumstances. If the charge is not removed, she should contact an attorney.

I have been a Toyota customer for years. I have never been so humiliated or felt so cheated before ... All I am trying to do is purchase my Camry because the lease is up.
I am fronting $8,000 in cash and financing $3,000. This dealership is trying to charge me $800 over my residual just to process the paperwork. This is ridiculous!
I feel cheated and lied to. Is this right? The manager ... had me so upset tonight, I ran out in tears.
