Unfortunately, my experience with Toyota Financial Services has been extremely disappointing. Our vehicle was declared a total loss, and throughout the entire process, we received no communication or updates from Toyota Financial. I had to keep calling them myself to get any information. The website shows outdated and inconsistent data — every time I called, I was told a different amount than what I saw online.
After both our regular insurance and GAP insurance had paid everything, the website showed a remaining balance of $970. However, when I called Toyota, they told me a completely different (and higher) amount, without providing any written confirmation. They said a letter had been mailed, but when I called on Tuesday, it turned out the letter had only been sent the previous Friday. It’s unclear how I was supposed to know about the payment due before receiving any notice.
I was also told that interest was already being added daily — even though there was no information about this on the website and no documentation provided. When I tried to ask for clarification, the representative (Ashley) became uncooperative and eventually refused to answer further questions. The call quality was poor, and communication was extremely difficult. Also only Ashley asked to provide all the digits of your SSN!!!
I paid the amount they mentioned, but when I checked the website the next day, there was another unexpected balance with no explanation. Overall, the customer service is unhelpful and lacks professionalism. This will definitely be my last time financing through Toyota Financial Services. I strongly recommend choosing another company.

If I can give a zero I would. They kept calling me 8 to 9 a day. Even called my job while on the floor working after I told them I can not accept calls while on the floor. She called on dept telling him about me, then he came to me about what she said. They cut my hours due to them calling even when payment not due. Now hours cut I can't afford to pay on time due to this. Now my car gone. The rep said rudely, "I can't lose my job over this." Said, "Well you made me almost lose my job too." I'm a senior citizen trying make it. Now there going to make it harder for me to get another car. I'm surprised they're still in business working on commission. Never ever deal with them again. Have a co worker there doing him the same way too. Worst place to finance a car you will lose it.

I attempted to register my car in New York and needed title and permission from TFS. A fax was sent by the DMV to TFS but never received confirmation. Then I discovered TFS had received the fax, but FedExed the title without the permission letter as requested, which makes absolutely no sense. I was never informed that was done. After eight phone calls and conversations, I finally got TFS to send a permission letter to the NY DMV. Of course, it sent the wrong letter TWICE. Finally, I had to make the person at TFS stay on the line until the new letter was received, and even that one was not what the DMV had asked for although DMV accepted. This is outrageous, considering I have been a Toyota owner for over 40 years. As soon as possible, I will find another place to refinance my car. Never again with Toyota Financial Services.

I do not recommend financing a car through Toyota. After completing my 72-month contract, they still claimed I owed money and refused to negotiate or work with me despite my financial difficulties. Instead of offering solutions, they only demanded full payment and showed no willingness to help. The representatives who called me back were rude and unprofessional. This was my first car purchase, and I will never buy from Toyota again. They take advantage of customers and make the process extremely stressful. Please think twice before financing with Toyota Financial Services — they will rip you off and show no understanding of your situation.

Toyota Financial Services is the worst company so far I have dealt with in the United States of America. I am warning potential customers to be aware of them, They are disingenuous, as a customer they took gross advantage of me, by exploiting me, they defrauded me and fleeced me out of hundred of Dollars and on top of that they ruin my credit.
I took over the loan of my late husband after seeking their permission, and after paying them 6 months (November 2024 to April 2025), they refused to give me the necessary documents to license and get plates in my name. One of their feisty representative, without no compassion and remorse on February 26, told to do a voluntarily surrender of the vehicle, because I keep calling and enquiring when will I get the necessary documents to get the plate and to license the vehicle in my name. I finally did in April after consistently paying and the vehicle could not be license. The EVIL COMPANY PUT IT on my credit stating an false amount of money obligated to them, after they auction off the vehicle. This company must never get the chance to treat another customer how they have treated me in the time of bereavement.

Never again I take a loan from this company. Charged me twice for my last payment but they claimed I didn’t pay twice. It says clearly on Toyota financial account I paid twice. Also my bank confirmed they took money twice from my checking account but Toyota financial says they cannot see that I paid. Are they blind? They are claiming now I still owe them money even though my account is closed and I received Already title but somehow they can’t figure out and see my payments made from my direct bank account. I called them couple times already. Seems like nobody knows what’s going on. Nobody can fix any problem.

I have a 2024 Highlander financed through this company at 5.75% APR. My vehicle was totaled. Total due today is $15,101. But if I want to pay off, which I have to do now, the amount is $15,199. You pay full interest plus a fine for paying off early. I have purchased a new vehicle using Honda Finance. If I decide to pay off early, Honda won't charge me the remainder of the interest. Also, it doesn't have any early termination fee! I have learned that Toyota is a parasite. Never buying their vehicles or using their Financial (by the way, the vehicle failed to deploy airbags despire severe front end damage. Bodyshop tech says they might be defective).

The worse. Prior to Covid they had options of calling and paying 24/7. Now not only do they exploit outside staff outside the U.S. in the billing department, but there is no one to talk to on the weekends. I had proof I was in the hospital as well for two months which is why I missed my payments starting this year but despite me paying they still repoed my car. I paid $100 towards the repossession office and in addition it takes one day for them to process the documents of release on both parties — Toyotas and the repo office so although I paid my fee I ended up paying $20 paying the repo office a total of $120 instead of $100 because they could not release the vehicle the same day. Then they were both blaming each other on how they process this.
It is also not the first time I run into rude customer service reps. The recorded line does not help anyone but they. I did not realize there is truly not such thing as grace period—always pay before you dude date you will get a late fee. Then when I had the remaining $423.00 to pay to finish off the reinstatement of repossession, although I have written records of times and agents I spoke with including the repo Toyota department— they applied it to the regular account and it took 2 months for them to apply correctly.
It has not been the first time they have also applied incorrect late fees and back in July of last year they processed my payment twice without my consent ultimately overdrafting my account and yes I had to call and complain to be refunded I only authorized for a one time payment of $574.47. I have been told to pay before 3 PM eastern time and before or on the due date. It is Friday July 18,2025 and I paid 10:17 a.m. pacific time which is 1:17 p.m. eastern time and it is not yet posted to the account. I have only received an email of “payment scheduled”. Thank goodness it is way before my 07/24 due date but this is what I mean of how inconvenient and inconsistent their payment system is.
Also when I requested an updated bill as I made my payments of the reinstatement / repossession bill—they don’t have such a thing so it was a good thing I wrote every payment I was making. It was not the first time I was trying to explain my situation but I had agents ready to argue when they do not understand my frustration which I have repeated to them has nothing to do with them but Toyota’s banking loan system. I had some wonderful agents yes but most are strange and not equipped to understand this is nothing personal when we vent which if I had cursed at them or had not emphasized this has nothing to do with you, etc.
I would understand their lack of empathy and I am not asking anyone baby me however as an also customer service representative I am doing collections unless someone is cursing at me directly no—I will not take a customer’s—by evidence—clear lying behavior of lack of payment personal. Whether or not the customer pays I will not lose my paycheck and if anything their payments feed me. The least I can do is try to facilitate or just allow the customer to vent unless it is a direct emotional dump or discrimination/ harassment of any sort towards my interactions.
Toyota agents could use better training and that should start with the owners of the bank. If it was not for us the customers the rich bank owners and system would not eat plain and simple. In my case no—I was ready with medical documents to present and I was given no option and still—when I paid they repoed my vehicle and charged me more immorally not just the repo release to them but also to the repo company and to the local police department. Their morals and lack of options for payments and their system of processing the payments is unacceptable. I can purchase a bagel at a local mom and pop's and see my account posted immediately on a Friday or Saturday. There is no excuse for Toyota’s cut on sufficient employees anymore. They’re rich enough to gain the same amount of employees they laid off during covid now so we as customers can have better payment options.
I have also requested certain documents via email like an updated bill of my total balance that includes the interest — well they send it encrypted without the ability of creating an account to open it. And yes I have tried all options on this both on Google chrome and while using a laptop instead of my smart phone. These banks are absolutely out to get the most vulnerable which is the working class so unless you have half of at least, or all $36K in cash or saved up ready — do not fall for their loan systems keep records of all the people you spoke with, and what you have paid whether written or typed. Also repo offices should report what they are paid because they force people to pay in cash. That needs to change. They should pay taxes the very same way the working class does.

Do not misconstrue my message, I love my Toyota car. It’s my fourth lease, the issues in the past but more so after this last call is about Toyota Financial Customer Service. These people are not experienced or versed to help you. I don’t usually demean anyone that’s in Customer Service or that is trying to help me but they do not know what they’re doing. They read from some kind of script like a robot and I had a gentleman first phone call. Tell me he’s putting me in collections and I already had paid my lease so obviously there’s some glitch with my bank, etc. The money is taken out it showed Toyota Finance got their money so he said we will put you in collections legally you can’t put anybody in collections to your 30 days past due, but I’m not worried about it because I hung up on him.
The second girl told me that my merchant has to fax a report showing it came out on time which it did. My warning is really to Toyota. I hope they read this. You guys need to really step up with Toyota Finance and get some people there with some brains and experience because I will continue to buy this vehicle. It is awesome it never it’s never had a problem like I said it’s my fourth lease. It’s your Customer Service for Toyota Finance that is Horrendous. Do something about it because somebody’s not gonna wanna deal with it just considering buying that great car after they read this review in many more, you have a lot of horrible reviews only for Toyota financial.

This isn’t even the full story of what I went through, just what I can manage to explain without writing a book. I was already under a tremendous amount of stress in my personal life. My hair was literally coming out from everything I was dealing with, and this situation with Toyota Financial only made things worse. It was a nightmare.
What should’ve been a simple vehicle payoff turned into a mess of conflicting balances, no clear billing, and locked-out accounts. It took nearly a year and pressure from outside agencies just to get a basic ledger. And even then, it didn’t explain the extra charges. We ended up paying $494.46 just to get our title, even though we completely disagreed with the amount and how it was handled. Nothing was ever broken down or clearly explained, and that to me is deceptive.
I filed complaints with Consumer Affairs, CFPB, and others, yet they’re still allowed to operate like this. With the number of similar stories out there and the fact that they just settled a class action lawsuit last year, this clearly isn’t an isolated issue. This is a much bigger problem. Toyota Financial has teams of lawyers and they know the legal loopholes, and that’s how they keep getting away with it. It should be illegal. Something needs to be done. Maybe if enough of us speak up, things can finally change. At the very least, we can warn others. That might be the most powerful thing we can do right now, to make sure others don’t have to go through the same thing.

A nightmare. I have had a lease with Toyota for four months and I've spent at least two hours on the phone with them each month. They've lost checks. I've sent them in the mail and failed to notate payments I've made to my account, and as a result, my credit has dropped by 99 points because they have wrongfully reported that I have failed to make payments when I have made payments on time all along. Cannot trust them to keep the money you sent them organized. You have to babysit/double check/follow up on any move you make to make sure it's done correctly. I wish I did not have a lease with them.

I bought a Toyota Camry 2022 for 22 thousand with a 3 thousand down payment of 12.42% interest. 520$ is my monthly payment. I was 8 months ahead on this, and asked if they could put those 8 months towards my principle. They said they would, but ended up making a TFS error and returned all of that to me. They told me it would take 7-10 business days, and here I am 13 days later with my bank claiming nothing is being processed and now Toyota customer service claiming the 5000 is in my Toyota account.
I owed 19,000 on that car. And the 5000 she claimed was added to it, changed my owed payment to 19,483? So it went up in price? And my interest has not changed at all. So I'm wondering where my 5000$ went. But I'm going to my bank tomorrow to sort it out since they would not help me. Because all my transactions show where it says "returned payment," for several pay periods that I'm missing. Nor my account on Toyota or my bank has it, and my bank over the phone already stated I need to come in asap tomorrow because you are scamming me.

We recently purchased our leased car and dealing with Toyota Financial has been our worst nightmare. It took 4 phone calls and finally a manager’s intervention to get a simple receipt for our transaction. Then, the title was issued incorrectly and that took 2 lengthy visits to the DMV and multiple phone calls to resolve. Worst of all, Toyota lied to us about why the title was issued incorrectly. I would never, never deal with them again.

Toyota is not the same company it once was in reliability or customer service. I have a 2006 Toyota Prius that's had normal wear and tear over the years, but has given me very little headache over the years. I recently purchased a brand new 2025 Corolla Cross Hybrid and after 2 weeks the car had mechanical issues. Working with the dealer, Toyota brand engagement and TFS has been nothing but a headache. My car (purchased on April 19) has now been in the shop, since May 4, 2025 - I've been without my brand new car longer than I was able to drive it.
In addition to the car issues, canceling the two extended warranties I purchased with my car has been a nightmare between the dealer and TFS. First, they make you go back into the dealership to cancel the warranties (so tough luck if you're traveling or live far from the dealer). Then it took the dealer a week to process the cancelation and send a check to TFS - it would've likely taken longer, if I hadn't kept calling/emailing them about it. TFS then takes a few weeks to apply the refund to your loan - during this time you're still paying interest on the amount that is being refunded. I would strongly advise anyone considering a Toyota to either purchase a used vehicle that you have checked out by an independent trusted mechanic before purchase or go with another car maker like Honda or Subaru or even Hyundai.

TFS is the absolute WORST company to deal with. If I could give them a ZERO, I would. I got married and need to change my name on my TFS LOAN AND TITLE papers, because we have moved States and I need to register my car in my new State. Sounds simple...right? Wrong. The Alabama DMV and I have been trying to get this done since the 2nd week February and this is now the last week in May. The Fax numbers don't pick up to receive the documents. The Certified mailed copies of the Forms that Toyota sent as well as the Marriage Licenses, have now been mailed.
I am still receiving letters from Toyota that "changing my name on the account isn't necessary." YES IT IS. The State of Alabama requires that my name on the Toyota account and Title match the name on my new driver's license. I have spent hours on the phone, at the DMV, the DMV cannot get to the FAX number that Toyota Financial provides, there "is not a phone number to contact" where we can talk to someone in the College Station, TX office where TFS had us mail the Certified copies. AND...there is no email address to send.
The only method to contact them is the general 800 number with the answering systems all over the world. I will NEVER buy another Toyota (I have purchased 3). Who in the year 2025 only communicates through a FAX machine - completely antiquated. All I want to do is to update my name, and they act like nobody ever has gotten married, divorced, etc after they purchase a Toyota. RIDICULOUS.

It’s hard to come across someone who knows how to directly get to a solution. This man deserves a raise or bonus or something for his fast, efficient, professional demeanor. He got my situation handled within the first 5 minutes of being on call with him. When I called the first time it took so many avenues to come to a solution that was going to take way longer than it had to. GAP is a scam. I had a GAP claim that I attempted to file for weeks, diligently calling and verifying that I was submitting the correct paperwork. Despite my efforts, the online system continuously showed missing documents with no clear guidance. Submitting documents online only allowed one copy. I kept being asked to turn in all 4. After multiple calls and wasted time, I was finally informed that I could fax the documents instead. I promptly did so. I then proceeded to pay off my vehicle completely out of pocket. After waiting yet again, I received a denial of my claim. The entire process had already been frustrating, riddled with miscommunication and incompetence. At that point, I simply wanted to be done with GAP. I attempted to cancel my policy, only to be denied—something I wasn’t informed about until three weeks later.
I spent weeks waiting for responses, chasing down paperwork, and receiving little to no real assistance. In the end, canceling my claim meant taking a financial loss. I paid off my vehicle, and instead of GAP providing the protection it was supposed to, I end up losing money. This entire experience has been nothing short of a scam, with zero accountability or competence from GAP staff. I lose money by paying off my vehicle and lose money on the amount GAP keeps.

There was zero reason for what they have done. I called their number to cancel the payment, which they REFUSED. I traded my car in October. I called and gave them my new address. They started sending like credit checks out. I got 2 of them at my address. So I’ve been waiting for my GAP check since then. I called multiple times to check on it, they said it should be here soon. I called first of January and they said they sent to old address. How come, when the checks before it came to the new address so they said they would resend it but end of January and still not here. I’m really not going to get my money I guess. The customer service was nice. I guess being nice while lying to you is easy.

Very bad customer service. I request to speak with the managers many time but nobody care. No calls. I will say this place not the right place to give your money, very bad. I paid extra money to my account.

Tried to sell car privately from a lease, several reps I spoke to said this could be done. I filled out the paperwork they sent (Toyota Financial) and sent a cashier's check. They asked me to fill these forms out two additional times and in the end sent the title to the wrong person and wrong address. I know they had the right address on file since it was a higher tax location and I was paying more at the current address. In the end this became a three month long process and was almost a grand more than it should have been. I hope I never need to deal with Toyota Financial again.
