Filed a complaint with the FCC. Thinking about hiring a lawyer. I'm shocked that there isn't a civil lawsuit already against these pigs! I have phone call recordings & paper trails that are screaming proof of errors on their behalf. Regardless of my fault in the matter, or any procrastination that was made on my end, none of the above is even close to measuring up, having been compared to the gross incompetence that was displayed by MULTIPLE reps. I asked for a hardship from my $320 payment in February of 2019 due to my fiance losing his job, among other unfortunate circumstances that are too private to share. It was granted, withdrawn, then refunded.
To explain, a rep made me fess up to & re-live a horrible trauma in order to "qualify" me for the hardship. Having me in tears, she agreed to offer me the hardship for the current month, and also told me that I would qualify for the month of March as well if I needed it. What she didn't tell me at the time was that I apparently had an account with them online that I needed to log into and change a setting in order to prevent the payments from coming out anyway (I didn't find this out until around May.) That $ was all that I had to my name at the time. I found out the hard way that the $ was taken out anyway (on my birthday.)
I wasn't able to celebrate my daughter's 8th birthday that weekend due to having to wait for them to reimburse the check. Also, my bank charged overdraft & transaction fees to my account in order to cover the payment. Toyota Financial agreed to pay for those fees, but the beginning of the damage was already done. Same thing happened in March of 2019, but we didn't get the check until May. More damage was done, and more fees from the bank were added. Come April 2019, they tried YET AGAIN to take MORE money from my account, which was still overdrawn BY THEM due to the previous month, adding to yet even MORE fees that were still owed to me from February & March (They only reimbursed me for about $30 of the almost $200 in fees, even after my bank sent them proof.)
During the 3 months that Toyota Financial either took my money, tried to take my money, & accumulated for me a beautiful pile of fees, they had the nerve to say that they weren't responsible for any bank fees that were charged as a result of another company trying to withdrawal an automatic payment. I'm sorry, but not only did they not cover all of fees that THEY racked up, but let's remember that had they not taken the money from my account like they agreed not to in the 1st place, I would of been able to make those smaller payments that were due to other companies! I was at their mercy, despite plenty of proof of wrongdoings on their end! Eventually my bank account was forced to shut down.
Before that happened, my mother deposited an emergency $50 into my savings to help us put food on the table since Toyota Financial was holding our check hostage, but my bank decided to eat that up before we could use it to pay for TF's fees. Unbelievable. Even more damage done. Oh, & CHECK this one out, the CHECK for March was never coming, BECAUSE NO ONE EVEN BOTHERED TO ISSUE IT! Then, the brilliant mind of a "supervisor" named Oz decided to try and refund me for the month of April, which would of been impossible considering the fact that there was no money that was taken for that month to begin with! But hey, at least they piled on those fees that month, right?
Come May, like I said, I FINALLY got my check. I was then told that I didn't need to pay until June 2019. I. Was. Shocked. After all of the hell they put me through these last several months, waiting for money that they agreed not to take in the first place during a time when I didn't have 2 nickels to rub together, only for it to finally show up...& then to be told that it would need to be almost immediately returned back to them, just added further insult to injury.
I was granted 3 full months (they added another month for their continued failures) for approved hardships. What I got was 3 months full of added on hardships due to their gross negligence! Then, they had the nerve to tell me that I used up my "3 month period", which just so happened to fall within the same time-frame as their mistakes! Apparently during hardship months, it's common practice for TF to hold people financially hostage, ruin a damn good credit score (mine was in the high 700's - now I'm afraid to even look at it), break-up relationships between folks & their credit union, & damage other client & business relationships!
If that wasn't enough, things got way worse. Due to not having hardly any income at all to cover bills before the 2nd check came, I was forced to work less hours. It's impossible fill a gas tank when we are counting change, especially when I have to drive all over town (& sometimes out of town) for work. Eventually, I got laid off. My car insurance was one of those companies that withdrew their payment from my checking account automatically. Of course, with no $ in my account, Geico tried to pull the payment 3 times, & it resulted in fees. Inevitably, the policy was canceled, because I was waiting on the check from TF. I wasn't going to risk driving without insurance, but why does it seem like the bad things only happen to good people?
Oz never called us back to discuss further terms regarding the "3 untouched months of hardship" that they promised us in the 1st place. We called him back several times because we were still owed fees, & his comment about having to make a payment in June made me nervous. The 3 months that would of qualified from there on out would of been May (check finally received & month was free of tampering after I went online & cancelled payment), June (bank account was closed but they tried to process payment again anyway), & July (same action in June happened in July - hopefully both months didn't tack on more fees). As soon as I got that check, I knew the battle wasn't over. We were tired of having to call back repeatedly, only to have to explain the whole story to a Level 1 Rep & then to hopefully to a Level 2 Rep, which rarely happened or went anywhere. Level 2 Rep's weren't calling back anymore.
Funny thing is Toyota was blowing my phone up for payments, yet I figured someone would read the damn notes and know not to bug me until August 2019, unless it was about what they still owed me in fees. But no one investigated, & it turned out the joke was on me. Come middle of August, I was ready to make a payment. Since I knew I was legally right, I figured it would be no problem for TF to subtract what they owed me from the payment.
Before I could act, I noticed early one morning that my car was missing from my gated community. I found out by calling the police that it was repossessed in the middle of the night. The second I called TF, their automated system recognized my # and hung up on me. We called from a different # that wasn't on record in order to bypass the system, and finally made it to a Level 1 Rep. She informed us that we couldn't use their service anymore. We demanded to talk to Oz since he knew our case. She then told us that he wasn't "available" for the day & that she would leave a message for him from us. She then proceeded to give us the # that we needed to call in order get my car back. My fiance tried calling the repo man (we got his # from the police), who was extremely rude, and refused to give my fiance even the cross-streets of his business, let alone any other pertinent information (even though he is listed on the account with TF).
When we finally called the # that the rep at TF gave us, we were connected to a Level 1 Rep who heard the whole script from our mouths. She said the she could grant us an extension, but in order to get the car back, we had to pay June-August, as well as repo fees. When we contested this, & and told her that we had evidence, she transferred us to a "supervisor" Level 2 Rep. This lady was very condescending, & a real piece of work. She basically told me that since I had an account with TF, it was my responsibility to know how it worked. Therefore, the non-authorized payments were a direct result of myself at fault. BS! Even the supervisors at TS admitted after hearing the phone call recordings that it is the agent's job to explain, especially when most accounts are set up by the guy who is selling you the car while you sit across from him. He never explained that I could access it, or that it was even there to begin with.
Next, she said I should be grateful to get 3 hardships (she could care less that they made things worse for me due to employee error). She often interrupted during my testimony, which is a scare tactic to try and throw me off my game so she can remain oblivious to the facts. I told her that I was still going to pursue justice, and reminded my fiance that we had already filed a complaint with the FCC & other legal parties. We have evidence recorded, as do they. Even my credit union saw the scam for what it was and issued paperwork in our defense in order to handle the fees.
This lady, like the repo guy, didn't want to talk to my fiance either. She tried to tell me that I needed to pay for May-August, including repo fees, in order to get my car back (& I wouldn't qualify for an extension). When I mentioned that the lady just 5 minutes before her told me different, she told me she didn't care. I even mentioned that I had a recording of Oz claiming that I didn't owe until June, that went out the window too. I guess she won't mind that her call, as well as the call before her, were both recorded too.
Cover your butts people! Otherwise, corporations & their sheep will walk all over you! Now starts a whole new game! I choose to break free from the havoc that they have unleashed when they chose to royally mess with my family's financial life and future. Had they done the right thing to begin with and had at least tried to amend their wrongs by starting with the bare minimum, they would of acknowledged that Feb-April were months full of no error on my behalf and would of made sure that those months would have be added on to the end of my contract as a complimentary gesture.
Then, they should of finally granted me the 3 months that I was approved for "error-free" in the 1st place for the months of May, June, & July. Those 3 months would then pass freely, totally untouched. As a result of smooth sailing, and after having been able to finally catch my "financial breath", I would have issued my 1st payment, come the middle of August. Yet here we are, the payment is now ready, and my car is nowhere to be found. Good job TF. All I wanted was for you to do your job, right your wrongs, & do for me what was promised to begin with. Instead, I was taken advantage of, but never again! Bye Felicia!

They are the ONLY company I've ever dealt with that Intentionally OMITS on monthly invoices the date Late Fees are charged. So you don't know if it's after 10 or 15 days that they automatically charge their outrageous $32 late fee. Every car loan, mortgage, student loan, line of credit, credit cards, etc etc State on the invoice WHEN (how many days) a Late fee is charged. Not Toyota Finance as I'm sure they're making a Killing, big Profit on Late Fees. Seek Alternative financing if you don't want to be deceived!

Hubby gets paid every other Saturday. Our due date is 21st. If I pay it on Sat. the 21st, Toyota says we're late. If 21st is on a Sun., and I pay it on the 20th, two days EARLY, Toyota says we're late. What right does a company have to say you're late when you paid on time or early? It's 2019; why do they refuse to acknowledge payments made online during the weekend? Don't EVER want to finance through them again!

Toyota Financial Services is at the very best a completely incompetent and at worst a downright predatory lender. I have made three payments since May 2019 on time. According to TFS, they never got them, and are now demanding I pay over a THOUSAND DOLLARS upfront this month or they will repossess the car. I have sent them bank records and statements proving that the payments were made on time (early, even!) with TRACING ID NUMBERS. They still refuse to credit my account! I've spoken with the bank personally to make sure that the payments were made! This is unacceptable thievery on their part. If I could describe Toyota Financial Services in three words: AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

I was happily leasing a Lexus through them (and I'm still a current customer). I have paid always on time, as I'm on autopay. Their site, btw, is user unfriendly, and it's hard to set up an autopay, but I did it. I turned in one of my cars after the end of the lease, everything was fine. 8 months later, I get a collection letter!! They claimed they send me a final bill once before (never got it, otherwise it'd be no problem to pay it). Then they turned me in to a collection agency! WTF?! They never even tried to reach me once! I get bunch of their promotion stuff by mail, email and otherwise, but this never attempted even once? Their collection agency (based in Philippines) SUCKS!! They don't answer the phone during normal business hours and their website doesn't take any of my good cards I use regularly. I'm stuck now. "Thank you", Toyota for a great "friendliness" and customer "care"! I'll remember this for a long time!

How is it that after all this this of making payments one time and never having any problems with my account, they can’t do this one thing? Super unfair! Will not be getting any more cars from them!

Toyota offered 0% interest with great credit. This was a huge deal to me so that I could save every penny I earn. They are easy to work with. Made my account available online, so that I could see all my transactions, estimate my payoff balance, and easily make payments. At the end of the loan, I had questions about how/when I would receive my title. They answered right away and explained to me the next steps. I would love to work with them again.

If you create an online profile in a financing website you will see how much is outstanding balance and how much your pay goes towards interest and how much towards your principal. You will never get those information in this shady company. Toyota is big company and they are not supposed to do this kind of low level techniques. Also when you click payoff it won't give you details, it will take you to another page where it will say, we give this offer that offer etc..

Company works with a rewards loyal customers. I compared other lenders including local credit unions; to that end Toyota was extremely competitive. At the the time the best option for me was extended loan payment. This may not be the best option in the long term but I needed the lower monthly payment according to my budget. My only criticism would be with the push of unneeded, unnecessary warranties on top of standard coverage. For instance “Bumper to Bumper” is a real ripoff- because it never applies to anything the consumer needs.

Living a nightmare with Toyota Financial. I bought a Toyota Prius 2016 from Larry H Miller Toyota Lemon Grove in San Diego last year and sold it this year. After that I canceled my Toyota Auto Care and should receive back U$2.905 dollars. The thing is, the dealership says they issued a check to Toyota Financial and that they should cash the check and write me a new one and send me. Toyota Financial says that the check was for me and they received it and forwarded to me and to a wrong address. So now one says that I should call the other one, and the other one says that I should call the one. I am in the middle of this situation not knowing what to do and they don’t care at all. The only thing I can think of is that they are unprofessionals and incompetents. I've called and faxed proof of this transaction multiple times and their answer is always, “We have no proof and you need to prove it.” although I have sent proof many times. We have leased two vehicles through Toyota, and at the second lease ending, we decided to purchase a car. We turned in our car, and it was in excellent condition. The car was very clean, and was 4,000 miles under the lease limit. Two weeks after we turned the car in we received notification that we owed $381 dollars for a disposition fee. The disposition fee was charged to help cover the costs to sell or dispose of the vehicle. We were told by our salesman, when we leased the second vehicle, that this fee would not be charged on our new lease. The salesman that told us this no longer works at the Toyota dealership, so there is no one to appeal to about our case.
I know that the disposition fee is just another way for the company to get more money from the consumer, so that is why we tried to address it at the beginning of the lease. Toyota will waive the Disposition Fee if you lease another vehicle. They call it a Loyalty Waiver. After this experience, I will not purchase or lease another vehicle from Toyota, and I will warn others of this unnecessary disposition fee.

Poor customer service experience has resulted in two missed payments and a negative impact on my credit rating. On account **. I fully understand now that enrollment into the automatic payment system takes several billing cycles to become active, however this stipulation was never explained to me when I opted to enroll in it. This oversight and poor customer service experience has resulted in two missed payments and a negative impact on my credit rating. At no time during the previous billing cycles was I informed that my payments were past due, nor that I was delinquent. When I spoke to customer service representatives about this oversight I was told that I was contacted but I have no phone records, electronic correspondence, or physical correspondence indicating such action was taken.
When I spoke to one customer service representative the phone number she had for me was incorrect and Fred ** told me today that they have a wrong phone number on my file and Southeast Toyota Finance using same data base. The decision to opt into the automatic payment was an attempt to alleviate problems such as this from arising. The resulting lack of customer service in resolving this issue has left me with no other choice than to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau citing the lack of customer outreach when it comes to billing problems. I have never had, nor currently have any issues making payments and have such made payments to rectify the problem.
I would like all efforts to be made on my behalf to report that I did not miss payments due to the irresponsible behavior of not properly informing me that enrollment would take up to two billing cycles. I believe that all employees should be required to inform customers of this stipulation and inform them to check their account regularly prior to the automatic payment being activated.

Updated on 06/28/2020: I've had nothing but trouble with TFS. They lose payments and insist they don't. When faced with proof (cancelled checks) they still deny they ever received the payments. After filing a complaint with the U.S. Consumer Protection Agency, they admitted that they mis-applied the payment, but they had already listed my account as past due. Whenever I submit a question on-line, they simply close the ticket without ever responding. That has happened several times. Clearly, they cannot be bothered to help customers. I will NEVER, NEVER deal with them again.

I was pretty happy with Toyota Financial Service for years. I am leasing a car. My nightmare started when I moved to different state due to my job. I am sure I am not their first client who they put through unprofessional service. Since they are FINANCIAL SERVICE they must have certain procedures to follow in cases like mine. I contacted customer service and request documentation for registration. There were no signs that customer service rep has any idea what exactly need to be sent to the state of Washington. They fax me whatever documents and I find out on DMV that Washington state, I bet not only one, requires ORIGINAL TITLE to register. I received a warning from police and notified by License Department that I should register my car in 30 days, if not - I will pay penalty $3000.
So I contacted TFS again and explained what exactly I need. I was insured that everything will be sent in couple of days. Surprise - they faxed again bunch of statements and documents, but not information needed. I called TFS again and asked to overnight Original Title thru FedEx, I offered to pay for Title and delivery. It was shocking to hear that they do not have FedEx account and I need to ask DMV (government entity) for their FedEx account, of course it was a nonsense. I received temp license plate, which will expire in a month. No signs of documents. I want to be clear and I hope Toyota will take to consideration. I did my best to register the car I am leasing. If TFS can not provide required documentation - I will let them to pay $3000 penalties. Should I bring the car to the closest Toyota place to let them take responsibilities?

She said there was nothing she could do and refused to let me speak with a manager and mentioned that if I wanted a monthly bill I have to call their financial dept every month and request a bill. If you ever buy a Toyota, which I don't recommend, find another financial entity such as your bank but don't do business with Southeast Toyota Financial Services.

Updated on 03/28/2019: The process began February 28th. All our work was in order. Now on March 25th a balloon payment issue is still not resolved. And the 5th excuse (count them 5 different reasons given), the 5th excuse for being unable to close the account properly is that they close it but it magically reappears and they just don't know how. I have been told no less than 4 times that I would receive a return call within 72 business hours. To date -27 days and counting - no one has called me. Avoid TFS at all cost.
The saga continues March 28 (the only 10 minutes in a week I haven't had my cell phone with me in the hopes of getting a return call and a TFS Manager called me. He left an 800 to call him back to speak to him. I called the number and no one there had heard of him. After several minutes they found someone of that name in the department I had told them he was in to begin with. They said they couldn't connect me or communicate to him other than to send an internal email. Avoid TFS at all cost
Original Review: After years of owning many new Toyotas and never being late on a payment, I will never do business with Toyota again. TFS is by far the least competent organization I have dealt with. When this current balloon payment issue is over for me, I will ride a mule before doing business with TFS again. Both as a customer and as someone who has managed large operations, I can't imagine anyone being worse. Avoid TFS like the plague. Been trying to refinance an end of term balloon payment with them for 19 days and they have done nothing but give the runaround. Now I wish I had just turned the car in.

They didn't receive this breakdown, which had been sent multiple times, until a customer service rep gave me her PERSONAL fax number. Then when they got the breakdown they told us they needed an evaluation report from the insurance company. I would suggest people NEVER FINANCE THROUGH TOYOTA. They are abysmal to put it mildly.

I financed my 2017 Toyota Corolla through Toyota Financial Services. I also purchased GAP insurance through the dealer. Well, thanks to some idiot not watching the road and slamming into me, my car was declared a total loss. I contacted Toyota Financial Services and let them know the car was declared a total loss and that I had GAP insurance and was collecting the information required by the GAP provider. They informed me that if I did not continue to make payments on the car, that I would be turned over to collections. They KNEW that I had GAP coverage and that it would take time for the claim to be processed, but they DEMANDED that I continue to make my regular monthly payments and threatened me if I did not make them. They are throwing responsibility on the GAP provider to reimburse me for the additional payments made after the date of loss.
They are greedy and underhanded and would sooner ruin my credit than act like human beings with common sense and wait for the GAP provider to pay the claim (which they know is going to happen). I wish I had financed elsewhere. I am likely never again to see the 2 additional car payments they harassed me into paying, regardless of the fact that the GAP provider is responsible for everything beyond the ACV of the vehicle on the date of loss. DO NOT finance through Toyota. They do not care about their customers. I wish I had gone elsewhere.

I financed a Rav4 many years ago, after reading some of the other 350+ negative reviews, I'm so thankful I didn't allow them to have access to my checking acct and auto pay themselves. I took out a 5 year loan. After 2 years or so of making on time payments, I had the opportunity to pay it off early. I called to get the exact payoff amount and they said it had to be in before midnight the next day to avoid extra interest charges. Since my bank was closed that day due to power failure I had to send in 13 money orders. After waiting very patiently for them to send me the title almost one year later they sent me a bill for $1,000. For three years straight I kept getting a monthly bill for $1,000 every time I called and nobody can tell me what this bill was for.
Toyota Financial Services are like a bunch of pirates!! How they do not have a class action lawsuit by now is beyond me. I would be first in line to sign up. In as much as I love Toyotas, their financial service department goes above and beyond to demonstrate extremely unfair business practices.

A TFS agent informed me that I owed $1333.55 to Toyota Financial without any other details. It felt very much like a scam, so I hung up and I called Toyota Financial myself and start questioning the customer representative. She located my account but still wasn't able to tell me what I was being charged for. She mentioned "repo fees", then "early termination fees", which didn't apply at ALL in my case.
After some more searching and putting me on hold, she answered that it was a difference between an outstanding balance and the sale price. I explained to her that NO ONE EVER had mentioned any such a thing to me. Last I checked the TFS website stated that the only charge to expect on my End of term invoice after I turn in my vehicle are: Excess wear and use, Excess mileage, Disposition fee, Unpaid payments, Late fees, taxes or tolls, Early termination. ANY of those applied in my case... I am very disappointed and frustrated by my experience with TFS. I will fight those charge, as I believe they are totally incorrect.

They are as bad if not worse than Toyota Financial. I've called them, emailed them. Nothing. So Toyota Financial stated until they contact them or they receive the paperwork they can't do anything. So my account is collecting interest on top of this claim. $1500 for a unpaid amount that I can't even get fixed.
Don't ever use this company or buy the GAP insurance from them. Apparently you can get it cheaper elsewhere and not deal with this. Please if you take any advice never get a loan from this company. Last month they started a new policy where any extra payment goes to interest only and if you want to have the payment applied to the principal balance you have to call them. You cannot call at the time that you make the payment. You have to remember to call them a few days later after the payment posts. There is usually a long wait on the phone to talk with a representative. This is incredibly inconvenient. This policy is to discourage customers to pay off their vehicles early. It is very unfair! When I signed my contract they mentioned about a clause they have where you pay extra on your loan and if you have financial issues down the road they will give me a grace period until a certain time so I signed up for it and after I lost my job I called them and let them know what's happening. They stop letting me make payments on my vehicle. I would get a confirmation number that my payment was made then they would reject my payment so after thinking I'm current on my payment I get called about my gate is locked and a repo man is at my yard. Well in California they are suppose to send you a notice by mail so I thought there was a mistake so I call up this crooked company and let them know there is a repo guy at my front gate and they told me well I'm 4 months behind on my payments so I asked them where my money went.
They told me it was sent back to my account. It wasn't there because I paid by money order. My money orders were returned to the Walmart where I paid at stating wrong account even though it was the right account. I asked them about that program I signed up for in the purchasing of the vehicle. They stated that's not valid in California but they explained that's why I paid an extra $5,000.00. Then they told me I no longer qualify for the vehicle because I don't have a job and that's why they will not accept payments from me unless I can prove a source of income. Best of all they are hitting my wife's credit with hard inquiries even though she was not on the loan or on the vehicle knocking her credit down 150 points. Toyota will state that you are paying to principal yet they reduce your next payment due. This does not actually save the consumer anything on interest. This is a very sneaky and underhanded way of Toyota gathering extra interest from customers. If you call their customer service line you will have to educate their employees each time on what truly is principal reduction and plan to spend at least 30 minutes per call. I recently purchased a Toyota Avalon Limited Hybrid from a great dealership. I went with Toyota Financial for the financing because they offered a slightly better interest rate. When I filled out the contract I was told that payments would be twice monthly and begin on a specific date. I was also told that I would be contacted by Toyota Financial to set up the payments. After approximately three weeks with no contact I contacted the dealership and Toyota Financial. The phone prompt system asks for an account number which I had not received, as I had not yet been contacted by Toyota Financial. After numerous phone calls to customer service, being placed on hold for extended periods of time, and then being cut off after a certain period of time passed on hold, I finally found someone to look into my account. It turned out that my first payment was due in five (5) days.
Fortunately I could make a one time $650 payment and not be late. I was told that the contract and payment information was sent to an old address. An address I never provided. Reoccurring payments can only be made monthly or weekly not every two weeks. I found the customer service staff unprofessional with unreliable information. Perhaps this is how business is conducted by Toyota Financial with the hope that the customer will not be able to track down the information on time thereby resulting in late fees. Fortunately this did not happen to me. I have financed many cars in the past. This is the worse experience I have had. I WOULD NOT recommend Toyota Financial to ANYONE. Fraudulent charges, privacy breach, extortion and intimidation - My family and I've been having Toyotas since 1991 and hadn't had any problems until recently: on 11/13/2018, after 5 months since I'd turned in the leased previously-used 2013 Toyota Corolla to a dealership, I received a letter from Alltran Financial stating that I owed the money to Toyota Financial for 'one or more of the following charges: unpaid lease charges, mileage and/or wear and use over and above that allowed by your lease agreement', and no specifics.
I called Toyota Financial about this, and they said they couldn't answer my questions and insisted that I talk to Alltran Financial this matter, and I was transferred over to Alltran, and Marie **, a rep, asked me for the last 4 digits of my SS#!! For identification purposes. First of all, Toyota Financial failed to protect my private info by disclosing my SS# to a 3rd party, and breached my privacy and confidentiality rights! Then, I refused to give out the last 4 numbers of my SS#, I told her that I had Alltran ID and the Account #, she said, no, asked for my home address.
After I provided her W/ address, she located my accnt but still wasn't able to tell me what I was being charged for. After some more searching and putting me on hold, she answered that it was for wear and tear. I explained to her that in 2015 I had leased then-already-pre-owned 2013 Toyota, and had returned the car in exactly the same condition as I had gotten it in; there were some minor dent and scratches on the car by the time when I had leased it from the dealership.
The Alltran's rep's response was: "Prove that you surrendered the vehicle in a good condition otherwise we'll report failure-to-pay to the credit agencies, you have just a few days left." Based on all above mentioned, I'm going to file a complaint w/ Better Business Bureau and with will report them to The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at www.consumerfinance.gov/ and I will join a class action against Toyota Financial Services!

I was on my very last payment of the Corolla, I was so proud of myself, I typed in the amount I owed which was less than the quoted car payment because I always paid more than the minimum. Somehow, either there was a website error or I read the amount wrong, but I paid less than the final amount. No one contacted me until this Monday 11/3/2018 and we agreed it must have been some type of error being I have paid every payment why would I pay $143.00 too little for the $26,000 I had already paid.
I went to pay my Capital One credit card today and saw an alert. Lo and behold, instead of taking my final payment, they reported me with a derogatory remark to the credit bureau!! Saying my loan was delinquent. I was shook. I work so hard to keep my credit the best I can and to have a company that I have loyally used and paid do this to me is just disgusting. I called them and requested they remove this remark. Due to a data error and I have been a good paying customer. The woman that I spoke to TOSHA was horrible to me and talked to me like I was a piece of crap. FOR $143 after paying $26 THOUSAND, she could have cared less and offered no help for me to take care of this.
I am insulted to the point I would like to let everyone know that NO ONE deserves to be treated or talked to so badly, and the credit report has so much power over your life, and for a company to be able to report you so easily without even giving you the opportunity to figure it out and fix the situation should be criminal. It is taking advantage of that very power. If I was 2 months late or even 6 months, I could see making a hit on your lifeline of a credit score. But $143.00 a few weeks late, after 6 years of on time payments?
A good company, good people would have contacted me to find out if something went wrong before pressing the NUKE button on my next 7 years. I am disgusted and will be transferring my other two loans to a different bank, I will never purchase anything related to Toyota Financial. I have nothing but unkind remarks for their integrity and character. And the girl TOSHA that degraded me in every possible way, hope to god you never need assistance from anyone. That was until they kept changing the price of my lease buyout for my mother and she pulled out of the deal. Then the payment became $540/mo. That's right, a price difference of $233/mo. Not impressed Toyota. The dealership told me it was "Toyota Financial" that decided that and to call them. So I did, only to have Toyota Financial tell me they "Only discuss new deals with dealerships, not individuals." WTF Grappone?? Too many lies.

TFS does NOT care about you, your situation, or any factors that loyal customers have which most companies would gladly extend a helping hand. After a bad storm and a mortgage company dragging knuckles on issuing disbursements/inspections to get repairs complete, I've been having to pay out of pocket to protect my home from further damages until my next disbursement is released. I asked for a two-month extension based on just barely having enough to cover all bills while getting my house repaired. I have had this loan for 2 years, never missed a payment, or never late and I was denied my request. Then the rep wants to say that I can be late as long as I pay the amount before my next due date but there might be charges!
Why the heck would I want to get ADDITIONAL charges on my account if I am just making it? As some reviewers stated, they would probably instantly repo my car if I was a day late. So I am finding a new lender to get me away from TFS. They don't care that bad things happen, and luckily we were out of town when the storm hit us else the Toyota might have been damaged to a total loss. STAY AWAY. If you go to buy a Toyota from a dealership request a private lender, if they come back with Toyota Financial Services GET THE HECK UP AND WALK OUT FAST!

I moved one month before paying off my car loan from TFS. I received a document saying that I need to call them directly for my title due to the recent move. I called and was told to request a duplicate title from the previous state DMV through my new DMV. Submit paperwork and receive notice a few months later through new state's DMV that it can't be processed without the original title being requested and processed by the lienholder. Call old DMV and was told that TFS needs to request the original title first before I can ask for a duplicate. Call TFS ask them to request title and they say ok, and I get a repeat notice that I paid off my lien in the mail, which I explicitly said is not what I needed. And still no title. Try all over again by go through DMV of both states. I cannot request a duplicate title without the original title number, but TFS can fill out the form and request it for me.
Call TFS again. Get the runaround and then was told they see it was never requested but they'll take care of it and send me the title. It's a year later, and I've since moved to a new address within same city. Try again. Same information provided: someone messed up but I'll take care of it. Verify with old state DMV still no title ever requested by TFS. I still have one free copy available to print, as long as TFS requests it. Call TFS back, and they promise to request it and get the right information later. 2 months later, same notice of lien paid in full provided. Try one more time, call and get that someone will fax me the information, not mail it. Hang up to verify the fax number, and call back TFS. But this time the person says original title was mailed out in Sept 2015 and it's not their problem if the mail lost it.
Excuse me, how did the title information change somehow in your system in months since I've been trying to fix this issue, and how did that information amazingly get updated in the 10 minutes it took for me to call back. It's now 3 years, and I'm still waiting for title information of any sort, so that I can request a duplicate title of the original DMV to transfer to the state I've been living since before I paid off the loan. Let's just say that before I just thought they were incompetent. Now I think they are blatant liars who reverse date and falsify information. Buyer beware if they go into an agreement with TFS and expect prompt and trustworthy service once you have paid in full.

Horrible experience, with Toyota Financial Services. The European lady that answered the phone, sounded like she was having another conversation with another person, because she was giggling or drunk when she picked up the phone. And I had to repeat myself over and over what she was asking. She got done verifying me. I asked for my account number, since they never sent me a statement and she wanted me to provide my bank account number or sent my payment Western Union. I told her I wanted to make my payment online. She asked additional questions such as my job where did I work at, after verifying and asking me at least 4 questions already. She asked for the dealer where I got the vehicle and finance which I provided and she just kept going.
I requested her manager, sure enough it was not rocket science to get my account number. No, I did not get an apology for their poor customer service. 1 not sending me at least my first statement, or sending it late. It is my due date for my payment and I'm still waiting for the statement. And without an account number can't make a payment. And yes, the dealer where I got the vehicle at did not help at all. They said call Toyota Financial Services. I regret my Toyota purchase. Should have purchase a Chevy, or Ford. Really!

Toyota has to have some of the most untrained employees I have ever had to encounter. I called for a simple refund. That call turned into 6 more phone calls, where they tried to keep my money without my knowledge, chose not to honor the payment arrangement they encouraged me to set up with their representative. The to send the very refund via paper, and sent it somewhere else. Every time I called I received new information, received different information. I would have figured that refunding someone was company policy 101, should have learned policy, rules in their first few weeks of training as well as phone presence.

I will be contacting every resource or reporting agency I find in relations to TFS. I followed step by step instructions to Payoff my loan/lien on my 2015 Tacoma. I specifically opted to pay off my loan through their online instructed option that would require them by law to release my lien to the VA DMV within 1-2 business days and restrict them from "holding" it for the "standard 10 days"... This option would "expedite" the title/lien release. To do so the payoff amount had to mailed "overnight" via CERTIFIED CASHIERS CHECK to their Chicago, Illinois address vs the "Carol stream" address. I did exactly as so. I included the authorization form to release the title/lien release authorization form I printed from their website. I paid $40+ to utilize overnight shipping services. They received and cashed my cashier's check as confirmed via bank and TFS via my initial inquiry.
I was told that I would receive an email "receipt" or "letter" stating my loan was paid in full and the lien was released. They told me to wait 2-3 days for email to arrive "because it is encrypted". Ok no problem. They IMMEDIATELY closed my account. HOWEVER... I have now 2 weeks later have not received an email... a letter in the mail...a receipt...my title...nothing. The DMV has NO record of lien release or payoff. I have called throughout this 2 weeks period 11 times. Each time speaking with someone different and receiving different and contradicting answers or "resolutions" to my questions and concerns. I have been told by 3 different "supervisors" that due to my "frustrations" and "lack of satisfaction" that my account would be "expedited" and marked for "emergency release". Still nothing.
I even hung up the call today after that resolution was offered to me and called back immediately and spoke to someone else who said my check was not yet even sent for processing. That they would do it now and "contact me on Monday" that I would receive an email upon end of call indicating that it was indeed in the "processing" phase now. No email 5 hours later. I will now have to wait 2-3 days to even contact another worthless representative as its now Friday evening. I took pictures and screenshots and downloaded all info and instructions TFS provided from the beginning of my nightmare of this payoff process.
I will find a reputable and legitimate resource via my long trusted and maintained family lawyer. I will never finance with TFS again. I will advise AGAINST TFS to everyone I know in the business of researching a vehicle loan or lease option. They will continue to receive my bidaily or sometimes tridaily phone calls and inquiry on my account until I receive documents I am entitled to by law to have received already. I WILL follow up on this FIRST review.

We purchased our 2014 Camry Hybrid at the end of our lease in 2016. At the end of 2017 we needed to sell it and placed ads on various sites to sell the car. The buyer that chose to buy the car was from another state and claimed to be a dealer. He said that he would pay our loan off in full through TFS and any overage of such payment would then come from TSF to us. This was at the end of January 2018. TFS does not do Wire Transfers and instructed us to have the buyer send them a certified check DIRECTLY. Which he did. TFS told us via several phone calls that the check received directly from the buyer was received and processed. They said that it was OK to turn the car over to the buyer. We waited at least a week (due to weather conditions) to allow the buyer to pick up the car from our home address.
The day he was to pick up the car February 12th, I once again called TFS and asked them about the processing of the title etc. I was assured again that day that all was fine, our account was closed (and it was closed on the TFS website as well). TFS said that they were mailing the title directly to the new owner and we had nothing more to do for the account, that it was closed and paid in full. They said it was OK to leave the tags on the car and allow the buyer to take it. The buyer sent a representative to our home and drove off with the car that night.
The morning of February 14th 2018 we received a call from TFS. They told us that the check THEY RECEIVED AND PROCESSED WEEKS BEFORE, was not good and that we needed to contact the buyer and have him send a new check. We asked about having him WIRE money, again NO they don’t accept WIRES. After several calls to the buyer we realize the car has been STOLEN. We made calls to the sheriff and to TFS, talked with their Fraud department, made all of the proper reports that we could. Their fraud department finally told us that the check they received was fake and therefore they (TFS) have process problems. – How is this OUR FAULT?
On February 15th we RECEIVED A CHECK FROM TOYOTA FOR THE OVERPAYMENT, A COPY OF OUR INSTALLMENT CONTRACT MARKED “PAID IN FULL” and then another letter stating to cancel all of our insurances and our account was closed… then a small disclaimer sentence, “pending final accounting cleared”. All of that paperwork was dated February 13th.
TFS agreed to suspend a payment while we reported to our Insurance company the theft. A week later the insurance company denied our claim saying that it was fraud of a sale agreement and therefore we were not covered. – Thanks Allstate, You are fired too! Toyota then immediately re-opened our closed account, started harassing us for payment, reported to the credit bureaus etc and basically told us we were ** out of Luck.
Beginning of April we receive a call from a detective in another state that our car had been recovered and that we need to pay to get it out of impound. We contacted a local Atty and were told to go get the car and that TFS could not re-open a closed account. Days off from work and hundreds of dollars later to travel multiple states and get the car we had it back. To top it off, the car was recovered from an old man that paid 8K for our car before discovering it was stolen. (We want to help him too, as his insurance won’t cover him either.) We sent letters to Toyota explaining our side and that we needed a resolution. The only resolution was to pay off all that was in arrears and basically kiss their butt.
Our attorney said not to pay anything as that would be admitting to the debt owed, so we have not paid Toyota and they have not responded in any way to help us. Just pay up. As of May we were 2 months behind (they did grant us 1 month of non payment in the beginning). They sent a letter for demand, but had not said anything about repossession, and as far as TFS knew we had not recovered the car.
June 14th a repossession truck was in my driveway to take the car. No warning, nothing. I just happened to be taking the car somewhere as he arrived and I left. This REPO man then chased me for 45 minutes up and down country roads while I tried to get in touch with my attorney. He could have caused me to have an accident. Our attorney directed me to put the car away under lock and key (once the guy stopped chasing me) and we did.
We have a gate at the end of our driveway which we close as we have horses that are out on the property to graze at night. This Repo man opened our gate between midnight and 1 am to come on the property and get the car. He did not find it and upon leaving he left my gate open leaving our horses at risk. We are seeking new legal counsel at this point since our current atty is not confident that we can sue TFS since we had a letter written (after the fact of being told several times by TFS to release the car) with the one sentence that said what it did about final accounting. Not to mention TFS sent us a check as well for the overage of payment, which as good people we never cashed. Anyone out there want to team up for a class action lawsuit?

I purchased a new, 2014 Corolla on 12/13/13. Price of the car, with taxes, fees, etc. came to $18,916.35. I put $4000 down bringing the total to $14,916.35, however, stupid me took out the "extended warranty" for an additional $1,563.13. The contract says BALANCE DUE ON DELIVERY: $16,479.48. This total, as explained to me by Priority Toyota's financial person, is supposed to be the TOTAL amount of my $288.36 monthly payments for the five years I had to pay. Today, I have paid 53 payments or $15,283. 08 which leaves the balance of $1,196.40. I want to pay off the car.
It took 10 CALLS to my dealer (unanswered when they promised to have someone call me to discuss) and several calls to TFS to even GET a person to speak to me. Today, they're telling me the payoff amount is $2,290.72. WHY? I asked the finance person "So, if I go online, in my bank account, and pay the next 7 payments I owe, it will be paid off?" She replied "Yes". I explained that the total of my last 7 payments is only $1,196.40. So why are they charging me $2.290.72? She said, "well, you're actually paying 61 months of payments because you drove the car for half a month before your first payment was due (on January 3rd 2014) so the total is, actually, $17, 589.96." WTH? First off, they advertised a "FREE" month when I bought the car AND, my contract CLEARLY STATES: BALANCE DUE AT DELIVERY: $16,479.48. WTH???
I am VERY disappointed with Toyota . I have never missed a payment, yet, the guy I spoke to at Toyota Financial Services last night informed me that he sees a "missing" payment from WAY BACK in October of 2016. I told him that wasn't possible because my bank automatically takes it out of my account every month and, if I HAD missed a payment, Toyota would have, certainly, notified me of it. Both he, and the woman at my dealership, told me there were NO flags for missed payments in my account history. I'm not sure what is going on but this is ridiculous. I am VERY unhappy. IRONICALLY, when you call TFS, the message says "Some of our departments may be closed as part of our ongoing commitment to quality" WTF??? Yep, call them, it actually says that!
Updated on 06/05/2018: Today, TFS faxes me a copy of a "contract" I, supposedly, signed (which I have never seen and did not possess-- honestly) which states: Apr 1.90%. Finance charge (the dollar amount the credit will cost you) $822.12. Amount financed: $16,479.48 total of payments (the amount you will have paid after you have made all payments as scheduled) $17,301.60. Total sale price (total cost of y our purchase on credit, including down payment of $4000): $21,301.00. First of all 1.9% of $16,479.00 is $313.11-- not $822.12. Second, if the total price I pay is $17,301.60, how the hell can the total purchase price be $21,301.00??? Because the ** added my down payment instead of subtracting it and, now, they're making me pay it again!!! My signed contract says: balance due upon delivery: $16,479.48 (after I paid my 4k down) and that is all they're getting from me! I'm suing them!

Returned my 2nd of 3 leases from TFS and was charged for bogus additional charges for the 2nd time. The 1st time the dealer took care of it and said that happens all the time which I thought was strange. This time they are charging me for damage that they say was done to the vehicle to the tune of $750.00. The vehicle I turned in was completely fine and I was actually thinking of purchasing it. The dealer looked it over and said nothing. The vehicle was inspected by TFS 2 days after I dropped it off so if something was done to it or if someone else drove it and damaged it, I really don't think I should be responsible for this damage or have to prove it wasn't me that did it.
They gave me a website to review pictures of the damage that didn't work and got a message to contact TFS. So, I really don't even know if it is my car that the pictures are of. This may not be a lot of money to some but it is to me for something I didn't even do. If they do this to everyone that leases and it is not questioned, because it is under the cost of what it would be to retain an attorney, they win and we pay. I returned a leased vehicle back to Toyota on 03/13/17. I received a bill charging me for the disposition fee, sales tax and property tax (this was prorated for the entire year). I paid the full amount for the disposition fee as well as the sales tax, but I called & asked on how to move forward with the property tax as I returned the car mid-March and was being charged through December. I was advised to fax over proof of the cancelled plates and that this would go through the abatement process. I did exactly that, and verified with TFS that they received all the necessary paperwork, and was told they had.
Throughout the next couple of months, I kept receiving a bill showing me the exact same amount, and I continued to follow up with TFS on the abatement process. In August/Sept when I made my monthly call to Toyota regarding my bill, I was advised that I did not own any balance, and was actually due a credit from a while back. I was informed that they would look into why the credit had not been issued.
About a week or two later, I received a letter in the mail from a collection agency (Central Credit Services LLC) stating that account was now placed with them. As you can imagine, I was not pleased as I had been told only a week or two earlier that I was due a credit, and was now being contacted by a collection agency. I contacted Toyota as to why this was done, and was told that 1.) Could not see the credit that the previous person informed me of 2.) This was sent to the collection agency in error as it was considering an "open/pending" case. I got an apology, but was told there was basically nothing they could do now that it was with the collection agency.
I then contacted the collection agency and explained the entire situation, and they told me they would continue to follow up with Toyota regarding the abatement process, and would notify me once they had received the adjusted amount. I continued to get the same bill every month, and continued to follow up with both the collection agency and Toyota, but seemed to get transferred back and forth between the two, and no one was able to provide me with any type of update.
This past week, I received a letter in the mail stating TFS forwarded my account to a SECOND collection agency. Again, I called Toyota (was not able get through - they have an absurdly long wait time), and also called this new collection agency and AGAIN, explained the entire situation. The individual I spoke to suggested that I follow up with the town, which I had been told by Toyota and the previous agency not to bother with. This was perhaps the biggest error on my part. I was advised by the town that they had received my paperwork for the abatement process on 5/19/17 and they issued a refund to Toyota on 6/27/17.
It has now been OVER a year since I returned this leased vehicle, and we are closely approaching 1 year to when the refund was issued. I have made numerous calls to both TFS and the collection agencies. I'm not sure how I've spoken to as many people as I have, and no one has been able to give me an answer. It appears that Toyota actually owes me a credit based on the refund amount. This is completely unacceptable as to why it has taken this long (and is still not resolved).

I leased a Toyota and turned in the vehicle about 9 mo ago. I received a letter from a debt collector in the mail earlier this week stating that I owed TFS an additional $412. I already paid the $700+ they made me pay upon turning the vehicle in, and I have no idea where this $412 amount came from. I never once received a letter from TFS stating that I owed them additional money, so you can imagine my complete shock upon receiving a letter from a (sketchy) debt collector. I called TFS (after multiple phone calls and many long, long wait times), but they said that my account has been closed and is being handled by their "business partner" and they are unable to answer even a question as simple as why do I owe them additional money and if they even sent me additional notices stating that I owed them the money, because I did not receive any.
I even spoke with a "supervisor" at TFS, but she just gave me the same runaround and said that I could speak with their debt collector business partner about this. When I finally got a hold of the debt collector company, who also appears to never be available to talk to except during very restricted hours, they said that they saw the $700+ check that I wrote to TFS and didn't understand where the $412 came from either, and they sent an inquiry to Toyota before going after me for the money.
So if the debt collector doesn't know why I owe the money, and TFS won't answer any of my questions, how am I supposed to understand exactly what I am paying for? So far this has been a huge headache and I will NEVER do business with Toyota Financial Services again. They clean their hands of the issue once they turn it over to a debt collector, and I'm currently unable to get answers from ANYONE. TFS should be ashamed at how they run their so-called "business."

Like an idiot, I actually believed them, went home, and sent money from my checking account BillPay. Now, doing month-end accounting, I see TFS DID automatically withdraw the March payment they told me I missed. So...either their system is completely screwed up (most likely) or they've been hacked. Either way, I ended up paying them an extra $927 this month. Fortunately, I did not pay via the calls (in case it was a hack.). We purchased a car at the end of October 2017, but had an issue insuring it due to an error with the DMV (in California, you can wait up to 30 days to insure a new vehicle). While working on the error with the DMV, the car was stolen and then totaled at the end of November. We filed a GAP claim, and finally, after several times of submitting and resubmitting the same documents along with almost daily phone calls they finally resolved the issue at the end of February. Then, in March, Toyota Financial gets notified by the tow yard that they needed to pay 900 dollars in storage fees and pick up the car or let it go to auction at the end of March.
In a separate matter, because GAP took so long to pay out on the claim, they also made a separate payment for the car payment for January. Gave us an itemized breakdown of the GAP payment showing this. Toyota didn't apply it and showed a 30 day late on my credit report. So in the process of calling them about correcting the issue, Toyota Financial told me that they are going to file a "Repossession" on our credit reports because they had to pick the car up. The car has been labeled as a "Total Loss" per the DMV and there is no value to the car. Plus the DMV states that we were no longer legally responsible for the car since the beginning of March. Toyota says that does not matter. But the repo department us in Arizona and here in California, state business laws and vehicle code laws say otherwise. So now the State Oversight committee is looking into it and now may penalize Toyota for improper business practices. Score one for the little man.

She ended up charging me twice and after fighting with the company for a refund, they reviewed the phone call and decided to send me a refund. Weeks later, no refund, and said it was processing. Weeks later, they said they are not sure what happened but my refund will be now cut in half. A phone call later, the payment was said to have been credited to my account. After checking my account, no payment was posted and my refund of $1400 is just simply missing and no one will help me or tell me the truth about what is going on. No words can describe my anger and dissatisfaction with this company after purchasing 2 new cars!

A salesman in Toyota of Lewisville TX told us that Care extra packages could have been taken from the original contract. We went back to the dealer to remove it, they did but the monthly payments did not changed (we got a $3800 refunded to the principal). We called Toyota Financial Services later on to inform them of this. They said the monthly won't change. OK send the wreck to pick up the car. We can’t afford the payment anymore... A representative OFFERED one time only deal, to lower the payment, she got an approval from her manager. We started making the NEW payment amount but Financial services kept on calling that they were sorry that no one can make such deal. They sent a letter notifying that the vehicle is going to get repossessed... Should I try and call them again, get an attorney? If anyone can advise me what to do in TX I will highly appreciate the help, thanks.

On line purchase of Travelex Ins. seemed to go well. Will not really know until if/when we need it. Plan is clearly defined online, and had no snags in buying it. Sent in a previous review, but that was in error. It was for Toyota Finance, which did not go well, not Travelex. Please ignore the previous review.

I'm in FL now doing my taxes, and won't return home in NY until May. I needed to find out how much tax, and/or the total price I paid on my 2017 RAV4 for my itemized deductions. When I called to find out, the representative did not understand my question. I don't think she understood English that well. Please be careful to keep your customer relations phone reps in the USA, with a good command of English.

Why couldn’t I be given everything needed upfront or even after my lien holder sent them the first 7 or 8 things requested numerous times! They also gave me the wrong form but waited 6 weeks to tell me! If I hadn’t kept bugging them nothing would be getting done, in the meantime I’m still making car payments! It’s a absolute joke, I recommend finding a different GAP company!

I had leased a car from Toyota in 2014, at the end of lease I moved to a different city and was returning car there. At the time of pre-inspection I did not had additional key and manuals because they were in my house in a different city. I asked the inspection guy, "Should we reschedule" and he said just make sure to return the keys along with the car. I had the keys and manual shipped to me before I returned the car and return the car with everything.
Later on I got a bill for some remaining balance that included missing car keys and manual. I called Toyota and they said we will figure it out. Now after couple of years I got calls from collection company for $410. Called Toyota and they are saying that, "It doesn't matter if you return the keys or not. Our pre-inspection says you did not had key at pre-inspection." Also they said that they usually do post inspection which for whatever reason they did not do in my case (their problem). After calling multiple times they are saying that, "There is nothing we can do and you have to pay even though we did not do post-inspection." I just don't understand that if they did not do any post-inspection, or their inspection guy gave wrong information or dealer did not log any information then how is it my problem. And for them it did not matter that you return the actual physical key and manual but what it matter is you did not had it at inspection.
I thought Toyota is good company with good customer support but after talk so long with them I realize this is another big company who don't care about customer experience or their satisfaction. As soon as you are done doing business with them they lose any interest in solving your problem. That will be my last deal with Toyota and will try my best to make others aware of the way they handle their customer.

Leased a Toyota for 4 years, made payments on time (even early) each month. Turned in my leased vehicle and got a new car so I filed a Excise Tax Abatement with my town, who needed to send the check to Toyota Financial first since it was a leased vehicle. I have been chasing Toyota for over 2 MONTHS NOW to get my abatement check. Horrific customer service, called today again for a checkup and they stated they needed another 2-3 weeks to send payment and separate it from another payment sent to them. Umm, I don't think so - there should only be one check from my town for the abatement, nice try. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? And your customer service reps really lack tact and professionalism. If I don't receive the check by the end of the month, I'm going to contact the BBB.

I purchased my 2015 Toyota Highlander back towards the end of March 2015. At the time I also had another Toyota RAV4. I have been dealing with nothing but stress with this company when it comes to my car payments. When purchasing the car, my payments were due per contract on the 25th of every month, since I had a different date for the RAV4 payments I asked them to change the due dates to the end of every month (this was back in 2015) so I can both cars together the same dates. I filled out forms and it was supposed to be done.
It's been 3 years now. My lease is about to end and since 2015 they made the error of changing my payment dates to the 15th of every month (which I was not aware of until I started seeing late fees) not the 30th and it has made me showing as late to my payments. On top of it I've been charged with late fees (which I paid). This has been an on going matter that still yet today has not been fixed, and they admitted to making this mistake and still cannot figure out a way to fix it.
Now my credit score and report has been affected due to Toyota Financial's mistakes which I have been trying to get fixed and cannot. Horrible horrible teamwork with this company and also notes are never kept on file because every time I spoke with someone I had to repeat the story over and over. They should have things on file and they don't. Just like they say calls are recorded. Not true because if they were then they shouldn't be asking me the same questions over and over.

Absolute painful. Every month I have an issue. I am never able to simply log in and send a payment without a certain amount of delays. Every time I have to call into customer support. Reset my password. Every time. It’s ridiculous. So I call and wait to speak to personal. Explain my issue which never gets addressed or fixed even though they mention your phone call may be monitored or recorded. How is it that Toyota can make such a nice dependable vehicle yet their TFS is nowhere near the quality of their automobiles. It is extremely upsetting that every month I have to call to make a payment. I’d like some sincere return feedback regarding this issue. I love my Tacoma but absolutely hate TFS.
Seriously my latest password is: **. It’s extremely disheartening for me every time when my payment is due. I feel like just dropping my vehicle off with the keys and say keep it. Because it’s not worth the headache. I’ve had my Tacoma about 3 years. I’m not a millennial. Is anything or anyone doing something to fix this epidemic. I informed the person helping me that I was sorry she had to hear me rant and how sad it felt to explain how troubling it is to go through this every month. I even stated, "Yes. I said you hear about all the shootings killings in our country." And I told her I was concerned that these problems might create a scenario of some disastrous proportions because of this log in process being so complicated that I can just see someone snapping.
Yeah it’s that bad that you have a system and it doesn’t work. For what it’s worth everyone in my family drives a Toyota. No other vehicle. Please know I hate your TFS and it hurts to know nothing's been done to rectify the problem. Not sure who the designer of your website is but they need to be informed. I think they should be replaced and have them take their format design with them on their way out the door. TFS sucks. I am a concerned consumer. No threat is intended only trying to make a point. 3 years is far too long for this to continue and that NOTHING has been done. It almost seems that TFS doesn’t care. Yet I know all employees have quotas to achieve but somehow TFS keeps on creating the nightmare. Anyway thanks for another headache.

I purchased a 2018 Toyota Corolla about six months ago and financed it through Toyota Financial Services. I had some extra cash and wanted to make a payment toward the principal, to reduce my future interest payments. The payment forms do not allow us consumers to specify payments only to principal. That's odd, as many installment and mortgage loans do that. So I called and made a $2,000 payment toward the principal over the phone, through a bank transfer. The representative said it would applied to principal. I made sure of that. Of course, two months later I learn that the payment was not made exclusive to principal. Some of it was used to pay interest. I got the run around from one representative at Toyota.
The second explained how their policies work. In order to make a principal payment, you have to mail a check to separate PO box and tell them you want it applied just to principal. Now why would a finance company do that? You know why -- because they want customers to pay as much of the interest as possible. Of course, the representative pooh-poohed that theory. Then why doesn't Toyota allow consumers to pay principal payments on their monthly statements? I love my car, but now I feel like Toyota is just like any other greedy capitalist organization. What is happening in America?

I made my last payment via auto withdrawal, got a glowing review on my inspection, and turned in my lease to a verified SE Toyota dealership. At the dealership, I asked if I needed to sign anything or do anything further. They assured me that everything was "good-to-go." After I turn in the vehicle, I mailed the odometer statement to SE Toyota Finance to verify my return.
A month later, I receive a bill in the mail for an additional lease payment. I call SE Toyota Finance and waited on hold for 30 minutes, 2 hours, 1.5 hours, and then 45 minutes on separate occasions before I talked to a human being. They then inform me that they used the date they received my odometer statement in the mail as the date of my car return. I inform them that my car was returned the month previous and they told me that there is no way to verify this (blamed the dealership). They tell me my options are: 1) pay the bill (for a month I didn't have the car); or 2) it will be reported to the credit bureau. I was an exemplary leasee. I always made my payments on time via automatic withdrawal. I returned the car in perfect condition and 3000 miles under my mileage allowance. I expected more from this company. Is it impossible for a good customer to expect good customer service? I will never do business with SE Toyota Finance again.

This is the worst company in the most ridiculous financial service I've ever financed a vehicle through and would never use their services again. Out of all the money that we have paid them. Too damn lazy to try and clarify the notes and just figured I'd pay. Wrong. Stupidly I purchased another Toyota and financed through TFS. I have moved and need my registration. What I mean is that once an error is recorded in the bits and bites of the Toyota Financial Services (TFS) machine, it will hound you and bill you and chew on your financial standing until the mistake is corrected by a concerned human being, and even then it could take months to stop this pest. Here's my story. May it be of some use to you: I purchase a 24 month lease on a 2016 Camry LE Hybrid in October 2015. The Camry was pre-inspected by a TFS agent around October 20, 2017 and returned it to the dealership of origin on October 30, 2017, the last day of the lease. In mid-November I received a voicemail message from TFS, which I ignored thinking it was a business offer similar to those I received during the Summer.
On Dec. 6, another voicemail came, to which I did respond. BTW, TFS has a 2 minute greeting after which they put you on hold for 20 minutes or more - that's right. I learned that, to their knowledge the car was not returned and they would hold me responsible. I told the agent when and where the car was returned. On Dec. 9, the dealership sales manager owned up to the mistake, apologized, and assured me that the mistake was corrected. On Dec. 14, I received a threatening letter from TFS warning that they would resort to "legal rights and remedies" if I did not contact them. It's much easier to reach a sales manager at the dealership, who has a direct number to TFS. I phoned him. He contacted TFS, further assured me that the error was fixed, and added that it takes time to process changes in a giant financial system like TFS.
On Dec. 19, an invoice arrived for a 26th payment on a 24 month lease. It turns out, I had already made a 25th payment in mid November, mistakenly thinking that I had miscounted. TFS, now owes me $316.48 for the 25th payment and expects another payment of $316.48 from me. On Dec. 20th, I spoke with the Administration manager at the dealership. She seems like an honest and caring person. I hope she can help. We'll see. It still falls to a CARING and HONEST individual at TFS to refund what's owed to me. Meanwhile, I am monitoring my credit score.
The Toyota dealership made an error of omission, when they did not start the "Grounding Process" for the vehicle. That's on them and they understand their responsibility to compensate me for any extraordinary costs that result from their error. TFS, on the other hand, is a machine that processes bills, mail lists, call lists, voice messages, and legal remedies. Just remember, a return call to TFS will cost you half an hour of your life, and a finance deal with TFS could cost you enough worry and annoyance to write a poor review.

My name is Kathryn ** and I leased a vehicle through Toyota Financial and decided to buy out my lease mid November. My tags expired on November 30th and I have still yet to receive my lien release information so that I can go get my title and tag/register my vehicle. According to your representatives the information was sent out to me on November 30th. I called on Thursday and spoke to a rep. who told me my paperwork was in a Topeka post office and was delivered on the 4th of December to that post office. He gave me a tracking number and I called the post office (waited on hold for over an hour) and the post office told me that the tracking number I was given was for a package that was going to someone else and at a different address entirely.
I verified the number several times with the post office and they even pulled up a picture of the package and said it did not have my name or address on it. They said it was going to some address on Harrison Ave. So, I called Toyota Financial back and they verified that I did have the correct tracking number and after about 45 minutes on the phone I mentioned to him that I sent in my buyout paperwork with my info on it, but the check was from my Credit Union. He then told me that my paperwork was sent to a 3rd party, but didn't seem to know who.
My Credit Union also does not have a location on Harrison Ave. either so I am not sure who my paperwork was sent to. I insisted that my paperwork was overnighted to me at that point and after MUCH difficulty the rep FINALLY was able to get ahold of a supervisor (not really sure if he did) and assured me that it would be overnighted to me. Well, that conversation took place on Thursday, December 14th and I have yet to receive my lien release as of today December, 18th. So, I called in again today and the rep I spoke with today told me that it was NOT overnighted to me and that it was sent by regular mail and could take another 7-10 business days to get to me.
I again asked to speak to a supervisor who again was not available. I'm really not sure what kind of business you are running if there are never any supervisors available to speak to, but anyway... He transferred me to your "resolution specialist" who then couldn't help me either and said he was going to get in touch with whomever actually sent my original paperwork. He told me that he was going to have my paperwork overnighted, but wasn't sure if it would be sent out today or not and said he would call me back and leave a detailed message on my phone updating me. I did not receive a callback. At this point, my tags have been expired since the 30th of November, I can't drive my new car, I am accruing additional penalty fees for tagging my vehicle late every day that it is late, I have spent hours on the phone with your company, and I am FED UP.
I also have to drive my husbands vehicle and he is currently disabled to a degree from a recent surgery and his vehicle is the only vehicle his scooter fits in. So, that is also another inconvenience as we are having to juggle and find rides, etc. I have spent thousands of dollars with your company and the least you can do is overnight my paperwork. I mean it can't be that difficult seeing that Kansas is an electronic state and you don't actually have to send me my title, just my lien release so that I can get my title and tag my car. Hopefully, one of you actually give a damn and actually have the authority and ability to get this done ASAP because I am tired of waiting and NEED my paperwork!

We have been with TFS for 10 years and never had a late payment until recently when I accidentally put a wrong letter in our new Toyota account which is paid thru our bank online and the first two payments went to the wrong account. Because the car is in my husband's name, his credit score has dropped drastically due to a mistake I made. When it was brought to our attention from TFS, I made the correction and the payments were made to the correct account. We were told we would get a reimbursement of the money that went to the wrong account.
However, a report was sent to the credit reporting agencies and my husband's credit went from excellent to fair. We have always paid on time but apparently TFS doesn't make mistakes and is very unforgiving of those who do. I would not recommend TFS to anyone and if we decide to stay with Toyota, we will definitely be doing business with another financial company. TFS loyalty to their customers mean nothing.

Alright! Here we go... To start I get a (New) Toyota auto (for sure #1 big mistake) loan. Now, This is with a fixed rate and payments are the same amount each month. OK - No big deal! That's what I wanted - Even the Finance Dept. Mgr. said it was fixed rate and the payments would not fluctuate in which they don't. Cool! Now on the other hand I have been paying on this loan for a little over 2 years (@ $508 monthly) and to my surprise when I check my credit report (boy what a shocker) I find that the balance of this loan is not correct!!! The original loan balance started out with everything included title fee, tags, interest, etc., $25,531. I would think my balance after paying $12,168 so far on this would bring the balance down to $16,363 ( $25,531 - $ 12,168= $16,363) Is the math not correct? I think it is. So, Now I have a balance of $22,006 otherwise Toyota is reporting that I have paid only $6,525 this is (BS!!!).
Does Toyota have a hidden balance that they don't put in your contract??? I understand about certain amount goes towards interest & principal (I checked with local bank on that issue). My question though is: Why is Toyota not giving me "FULL" credit for my payments??? CROOKS THEY ARE!!! So, I will be filing a "CIVIL LAWSUIT" against this corrupt giant! Hello - Wake up America!!! Time to take action now or be derailed for life. Let's Make America Better Than Before!!! (For Everyone / No Matter Who You Are)!!!

I paid off my loan in mid Aug 2017 and expected to receive Lien release. When contacted reps at Toyota Financial services they told it will take 15-30 days. After waiting till mid Sep 2017, for about a month, then I called to learnt that the Lien release and Title records have been sent to my address on Sep 1st and that they weren't sure on why I did receive it. Upon further grilling and several phone calls and at least 1 hr of wait times each time to get to talk a rep, they found out that they sent my valuable personal info to some unknown person. How did that happen? They have no clue. What documents were sent out, they had no clue.
So they said okay fine, we will dispatch another Lien release and Title records info on Mon, Sep 25th, 2017 and asked me to wait another 10 days. They were not ready to provide any tracking number whatsoever. After calling them at least 5 times on Mon, Sep 25th, they agreed to do an overnight. When I called 2 days after on Wed, Sep 27th, again they had no clue of who they sent it to, was unable to provide a tracking number and saying it was returned. They had no clue of why it was returned, not ready to reveal tracking number because all of their errors and mishandlings will show up. Finally they said they will create a new Lien release on Wed, Sep 27th and dispatch it overnight. I seriously hope I will receive my documents at least in this 3rd attempt of theirs. Such horrible people working at TFS, and poor management.
I am not sure how a company as big as Toyota has such a poor financial dept that handles recklessly customer info. No wonder companies such as this fall prey to hackers. How could they send customer personal info to some unknown person, twice not once. I hope they are reporting at least their financial results correctly to SEC. I highly recommend to stay away from them. I had to go thru so much mental agony and suffering to deal with crooks at Toyota Financial Services. Highly dissatisfied. I don't think anyone at Toyota even cares to read these complaints, because if they do, I would not have seen exactly similar reviews and experiences posted here already before mine.

I leased a Toyota 2014 Prius Plug In & returned it to the dealership early in December 2016. It was in pristine condition. They turned around and sold it immediately. I negotiated a payoff deal at the dealership for 50%. Or so I thought. I put it on a credit card and was given a receipt with nothing written into it but the date. Then in May a collections agency called asking for a huge amount. I explained that I had already paid it off. The guy was rude. They persisted in calling me. I went back to Toyota where I gave the $550 as a payoff I thought. They refunded the money to me after much ado. Then I paid off the negotiated debt for $1700 or this is what I was told I had to pay & used the $550 towards it.
I just got a letter from yet another collections agency saying I still owe $440. I explained to her the situation. She told me to get a release of debt letter & I requested this from the collections agency I had paid it off to. He agreed it was paid off & would send a release of debt letter in an email & snail mail. It never arrived. Round & round we go. I own a Toyota now. I WILL NEVER BUY A TOYOTA AGAIN.

Tried to keep up with the expensive payments as long as we could but then family tragedy happened and kept both of us from working full time. We were barely making ends meet. We had not ever been late on a payment in the year we had had the new 2014 Camry. However, when I called and told them our situation and that we just needed some time to get through this and get back on our feet, they wouldn't even consider working with us. They said we have to find a way to get the money or the car will get repoed. What a joke this place is. Crooks. We took out another small loan and paid the late payment and the current one (over a grand) and tried to keep up with payments from there. Then I got laid off and we were in the same boat.
Still only had that one late payment in over a year and half. They harassed us for payment, I told them the situation and asked if they would just give us a month. Nope, they were so offensive, rude, and disrespectful to me like I was some sewer rat. I told them they should be professional and stop treating me or anyone else that way. And I served my country and deserved respect. They didn't care, she just said, well you MAY have but we still need two payments or the car is repoed. We voluntarily surrendered the car at a dealership, the salesman there looked at us like we were committing a crime. When we walked out of there without that car, such a great free feeling. Burden lifted. No amount of debt is worth so much stress. Toyota is a terrible company, I would never ever buy from them again.

TFS sent it to the wrong address (despite having sent 59 separate invoices to the correct address). It took three phone calls to get them to explain the address problem. They then indicated a release of lien letter would be sent and it was up to me to pay the $95 to get a replacement title.
I told them they would be paying for the replacement title. I was quite surprised when a FedEx came with a check and paperwork. Someone was kind enough to hand write a note saying to take this to the DMV and all would be well. Wrong! DMV tells me the paperwork was incorrect and did not have the release of lien. As of now it is almost 60 days since I paid off the loan and I await their next attempt at getting it right. They kept telling her to call back in 3-7 days to find out how much is her balance. She bought the car 1996. All this time she thought she already paid off the car and lost the pink slip. Then when I bought the car from her and tried to transfer it to my name DMV said Toyota is in the lien holder. She tried to call them and ask how much is her balance and kept telling her that they need to investigated.
It's been more than 2 and half months and we're just waiting and waiting of what we supposed to do. But everytime we call them they keep saying to call back in a week. I am trying to pay off this loan for her and find out how much she owe. Last time she said she spoke to a manager they told her she owe $400 something more. Then the next time she calls they said $326 something. We don't know if this is legit but we're getting frustrated.
Today I called them and asked how much is the balance so that I could pay it off. They said it doesn't say in the computer because the account is old. They don't know how much she still owe. It's so disappointing how they treat people after you finance a car from there. I guess because they're done business with you and they don't care. Don't finance from this people. I know that it is the terms and conditions to pay for damage that is "more than normal wear and tear" but how misleading to send a separate bill months later.

I had to call them again to let them know that the same issue remains unresolved. I said, "You guys are the Toyota. Please fix it." The guy who received my call had no clue what was causing the problem. He merely promised me that they would contact me in 2 to 4 business days.
I am not a kind who leaves comments on businesses and restaurants, but in this instance I have gone out of my way to leave this review simply because I am appalled by the quality of service from Toyota Financial Services. I will follow up on this post four days from now to report to the readers as to whether Toyota Financial Services will have kept up with its promise to a customer. I brought the problem to Toyota Financial Services' attention. It is about time that they resolve it.
Updated on 7/12/2017: I ended my previous review (posted on July 3) with a promise to my readers to follow up on TFS' promise to call me back within 4 days to resolve the technical issue. I called back TFS today (July 12). 9 calendar days (and 6 business days) have transpired and I never heard from TFS, and the technical issue (that I have not been able to log into my account) has remained unaddressed. I had to call TFS to remind them that the issue remains unresolved. The agent who took my call did walk through a password reset procedure and did help me resolve the issue. I don't know why the first agent on July 3 did not take the same procedure. I reminded the second call agent today that it had taken TFS months to resolve issue. She claims that TFS' record indicates that the issue became resolved in January. My e-mail records state that I did manage to reset the password but never was I able to access the account.
I retorted that I would not have called TFS continuously over the same issue at least since January if the problem had been truly resolved. Besides, 6 business days and 9 calendar days have come and gone and TFS never called me back within 4 days, contrary to what had been promised. I pointed out that shortcoming to the call agent today, and she had an audacity to respond that TFS' response was delayed by mere "few days." Out of exasperations I had to remark that the quality of service I received from TFS was "pathetic." "I can't believe that you guys call yourselves a Toyota," I stated.

Everything went well for the first year and then problems with TFS started to occur. In November of 2016, I lost my job and got ONE payment behind. TFS contacted me and told that I was THREE payments behind and threatened to repo my car. I explained that my November payment would be made, but it would be late. They asked me what about the other 2 payments of which I had paid and showed them proof.

It is a Prepaid Debit Card and I have no bank account at the bank, but I DO have a "bank account" with my Debit card company.

I was able to dispute it with the bank that is associated with the Toyota Rewards Credit and get it resolved however the manager who used the card was not reprimanded, he is still working for Toyota Marina Del Rey and I feel my contract is bogus. I went back there to have them redo it but they refused.
Toyota Financial Services has overdrawn my account twice because of their negligence and I've had to request a refund to my account. This time the representative stated it will take until the next payment is due to be corrected. The company is shady. I need a reliable vehicle but at what cost??? I make my payments on time but somehow I feel like I'm paying too much. Not right.

I paid my truck off in August 2016 and it is April 2017 and still have not received my Title! I have been going in circles with a financial customer service agent for the past 2 weeks! When I first called she said that I had to verify that the cashier's check I sent was mine even though when I sent the check they make you send a copy as well and she had the copy. She made me go and get another copy from my bank to prove it was mine. Not only did I get a copy but I also found out that T.F.S. had cashed the check so I also sent her that information as well.
She said she needed a couple of days to verify everything and she would call back. She did not call back. I called back after no response and the same agent had said that she needed me to verify that there is a stamp of Toyota on the back of the check showing that they cashed it. I was puzzled... I said how can I have a Toyota stamp on the back of a cashier check that I sent? I argued with this lady for an hour that I would not have a copy of my cashier check with a Toyota stamp unless they sent me a copy after they cashed the check and why would Toyota do a thing like that? So after being frustrated and wanting to grab this lady through the phone, I asked to speak with a supervisor. She said and I quote, "I don't feel like this is a supervisor situation so I'm not going to allow you to speak to my supervisor." I kid you not this lady said that!
So I hung up and called customer care. They documented everything I told them that happened and said that they would get a supervisor on the line and like I said I have been dealing with this for 2 weeks. Every time I would somehow be sent right back to the same agent! Today I get a call on 4/6/2017 by the same agent. She informs me that she still hasn't received a verification that the check is mine and that they also lost my funds. I quickly began to smell something very fishy. I asked the agent, "So you lost the cashier check when it clearly states on my bank statement that I sent her T.F.S. cashed the check 5 days after I sent it." She quickly changed her story so I asked her again, "May I speak with a supervisor?" I kid you not she said the same thing! She didn't feel that the situation called for that so she wasn't going to let me speak with one.
I am outraged at the disrespect and the shenanigans this lady is pulling. I'm about to go seek legal consultation because I have proof I paid the truck off and Toyota is clearly responsible for not only sending the title but making sure the owner gets it. Word of advice don't ever ever do a loan through Toyota! I absolutely love my truck but after dealing with this I will never deal with Toyota again and that sucks. I paid 21,000 dollars and you would think Toyota would make me a platinum customer. Nope they could care less.

On top of it, they said I have only made one payment so far and asked me to fax them copies of two checks that they cashed! I would never imagine that a company that has been in business for so long would be so disorganized!!! Every time I call the agents are very nice but no one can figure out what is going on with my account. They requested a supervisor to review it and when I called yesterday (after 3 weeks) no one had reviewed it and they asked me to fax them copies of the checks again!!! Unbelievable! I leased a Toyota Corolla through TFS and paid my monthly payments on time. In fact I paid my lease off 5 months prior to the end of my lease and handed the car over a month early in July 2016. A few weeks later I received a letter in the mail from TFS stating I am owed a refund check for $1,500 and I will receive the check in a separate secure letter. I'm a generally patient person and thought cool, I'll just wait for it to come. I made my first call September 19th because I moved and realized the check could have gone to the wrong address. I had found out that they hadn't cut the check yet and that there's a 90 day window. I called back in early January 2017. I don't like to push these kinds of things, but it had been almost 6 months since I first received the letter and was told on the phone that there's no reason for the hold up and they would escalate the payment.
I called back at the end of January to check on the escalation on my account and nothing had happened in the previous 3 weeks. They said they would expedite the process on my account so I thanked them and hung up. After 3 more weeks I called again and they had no update. I was given the number for HQ & for complaints. Both numbers lead to the same automated message options. I have NEVER written a complaint before, but this is outrageous. It has now been 8 months since I turned my lease in and was informed of my refund check and there is still NO update and NO check.

Save yourself the trouble and time and avoid this company. Customer service is horrible and their employees are just outright rude. I refinanced my auto loan with my credit union in January and they sent the payoff on the 29th. My credit union has proof that Toyota processed the check that was sent on February 8th. However, Toyota owed me for an overpayment so I called to find out why my check was not sent on the 16th when it should've been sent just to find out on the automated system that my account was past due by $918. I was very upset and unsatisfied because I have already made two payments to the credit union. Decided to check my credit and I now have two auto loans! Spoke to an employee as to why I was not informed about them reopening my account.
They claimed they mailed me a letter which I have yet to receive. They also claimed that they left me a message on my voicemail and my voicemail was not set up which is a complete lie. They had me going back and forth with my credit union saying that the proof I had was not sufficient when in fact it was the only thing they needed. I am not sure that these employees aren't being properly trained, but regardless don't waste my time when you are the problem. After three days of going back and forth they finally took the document the credit union sent to me since day one. I called again to get an update and the representative was very rude, would cut me off, and then had the audacity to tell me to make the past due payment that was owed after Toyota admitted that they were at fault. I hung up on her and I have been calling pretty much every day and still nothing.
The representatives are no help and no one can tell me how and where my payoff check disappeared into thin air. After the check was mysteriously found it's been processing for two weeks now and every time I call they tell me "There's nothing we can do if your check is still being processed." Then they offer suggestions of me making two car payments a month so it does not go on my credit.
I honestly hate Toyota because this is the second auto loan that I have had with them that I've had an issue. Are you guys just that greedy and do not care about your customers or are your employees just incompetent? I'm very annoyed and frustrated, but all I can say is once this gets resolved and if it does, given that I'm still going back and forth with you all since my first car that I have already traded in, I will never make the same mistake again. I will continue to inform people about how you're all a bunch of thieves and deter them from doing business with you!

They don't listen at all you could have been. Told them something just the other day and they forget to notate it. SMH!!
I loved my 2015 Toyota Corolla, which was repossessed last month at 3:00 in the morning. I had hell trying to get my items back and finding out where the vehicle was taken to. In order to get my items I had to pay with a card over the phone which the company never answers the phone and they don't stay open but 4 hours a day. I wouldn't dare finance another vehicle through Toyota Financial at all. I have been sending in extra money to try to keep the payments current but the problem continue to happen. I am missing a lot of money that Toyota has taken out of my account. They feel they are not responsible for the missing money.
I have talked to customer service that has not helped me at all. They make it seem like I am making up the story. I have proof they have been taking out the money from my bank account. They are not trying to fix the problem. I sent in a payment recently to try to fix the back payment problem. They put me in for repossession and never told me anything. I didn't get a letter or a phone call. I have a payment I sent to them a week ago but they said they never got it. My car has been taken. When I called Toyota to talk to them they said my account is now with the debt collector and I would have to deal with them.
I thought that this was supposed to be a company with a good reputation however after dealing with this I can say that I will never get another Toyota. I am currently in the process of trying to prove that I made this payment. I have bank statements and everything, when I called to pay the fee they even overcharged my bank account and sent me a check for the difference. I can't believe it has taken this long for them to do something either. I turned my car in May of 2016 with no problems at all, even got confirmation numbers and everything and they are still claiming I didn't pay and won't talk to me themselves about it. Paid off my 2015 Toyota Highlander on 2/14/17. I called prior to paying it off to find out the process and how long to get my title. Started calling 2/20/17 daily to have my title overnighted. Each day I was informed it would happen. Called each day to get tracking number. No number and title had not been shipped. Each day has been a different story and a different date of when this would happen. When I complained about the inconsistencies of their information, the customer service agent became short with me. Friday, 2/24, I was told that if it was not overnighted today it would most definitely go out in the mail.
Called today, 2/27, to confirm my title was in the mail. I was informed it had been mailed on 2/17 and must be lost in the mail so she was notifying title and registration to send me out a lien release form so I can go apply for a new title at my local DMV??? Are you kidding me? I expressed my dissatisfaction with TFS and a different answer to the same questions each day. It was explained to me there was nothing they could do as they no longer had the title. I also requested the number for their title and registration department so I could take care of this myself. Nope. They don't take calls. Surprise.
I let that sit a minute and called again. Keep in mind, same day and same question. This time I spoke with Jonathan who told me they have the title and would overnight it to me. I will not be holding my breath. When I purchased my vehicle I was going to use my credit union but let the salesperson talk me into Toyota Financial Services. BIG MISTAKE. The Toyota Financial Representative misinformed and mislead me about a deferred payment that I requested on December 2016. I was told that I was approved and now our credit score is lower than ever. It was the miscommunicated and withheld information from their part that created this dilemma, which they now want to place the blame on us. I refuse to be their victim. I was in the process of renting a house and the negative mark that they created on my credit by this situation added to the decline of my ability to obtain our new home. It destroyed that for us. The credit dispute department makes decisions that only benefits them and elude to the fact that they are messing with people’s lives.
Now they added that there was also an issue in my account in 2015. I totally disagree. The issue is being evaded. My satisfaction rate with Toyota went from very pleased to totally disappointment. I encourage others to constantly review their accounts and if able too, finance elsewhere before they too are misled. I am so ready to give back this vehicle since Toyota has already ruined what little salvaging I had done with my credit.

I'm being repeatedly told I have a bill due. I call, someone say it will be corrected and then I get another bill. 1/7/17: I went into Baxter Toyota to speak with Bob ** about my Prius Lease that was going to be up soon. Neither he nor his manager, Joe **, could work with me on my price range. I said thank you and went to Gregg Young Chevrolet to see what options they had for me. 1/9/17: I purchased a new car from Gregg Young Chevrolet and they bought out my Toyota lease. 1/23/17: I received a letter in the mail dated 1/18/17 from Joe ** at Baxter Toyota stating there's still a remaining balance of $219.87 for my Prius lease.
1/24/17: I send the letter to Gregg Young questioning whether they paid off my lease. My car salesperson, Dave, says, "I talked to one of our accounting people and he gave me copies of your "Payoff" amount and the check that was actually written to Toyota for the payoff and they are the same $15,518.22. Sounds like it is a way to get you into the store to buy something from Toyota. I tried calling Baxter Toyota and they were in a meeting. I talked to Toyota Financial Services (TFS), they received final payment but couldn't apply it because of 2 pieces of information that they said they didn't receive. Signed payoff form. Signed odometer statement. Talked to our Finance Director and they will get both of those faxed over today. Payoff was received and it will be back-dated per Jess at TFS. "You should be good to go and don't owe any $. Let me know if you hear something in the future from them."
1/31/17: I check my TFS account to see if the situation has been resolved, it has not. First I called TFS, don't recall the person's name, he said I had to call my Toyota Dealership. Called and talked to Katie in Finance. I lost my cool when she said I needed to call TFS. Then she said Gregg Young hasn't paid anything. I rattled off numbers and dates to her about the final payment. Then she started looking stuff up on her computer. She had me call another number that went right back to the TFS automated system. I speak to Sam, he says Gregg Young didn't send over odometer documentation. I said they faxed it on the 24th. He puts me on hold for a few minutes. He comes back on the line and says they got it on 1/26/31 but it hasn't been processed. Sam says everything should be fixed by the end of the week. Katie calls me a few hours later to see if the issue has been resolved. As far as I know it has been.
2/3/17 Receive an email from TFS about owing a final payment of $219.87 for my Prius lease. 2/5/17 Check my TFS account 1 more time before writing to the BBB. It still states I owe money. I don't I owe this money, but if I don't pay it it's going to hurt my credit. I want this fixed. TFS is not affiliated with BBB and since the first bill I received was from Baxter Toyota my complaint is with them.
2/7/17 Baxter Toyota's reply, "When consumers trade vehicles, it is the responsibility of the new dealership to ensure everything goes smoothly, to include any payoffs, etc. I do not have enough information to have an informed opinion on whether or not Gregg Young has done everything right. They typically do. They are a reputable dealer in Omaha. That being said, we reached out to Toyota Financial Services and found the following: Toyota Financial received a payoff from Gregg Young on 2-3-2017. Based on the payoff Ms. ** may be due for a refund that she should receive in 3-4 weeks. Once again, this situation is out of our control and is between Ms **, Toyota Financial Services, and Gregg Young." I repeat that the first statement I received was from Baxter Toyota with the General Manager's name on it.
2/8/17 I check my TFS account again this morning. The home page says I haven't paid the last January payment when before it was a February payment they were after. The last payment I made was on 1/6/17, I even have a confirmation number. That payment was due by 1/21/17. I paid it well before the due date. So now my TFS account says I have a past due balance affecting my credit.

I urge you NOT to finance a vehicle through Toyota Financial Services. My experience has been one of a shell game. I feel as though I was the victim of fraud or a scam. I financed a loan for a Toyota truck through a local dealership. I recently sold the truck and paid off the $22,000.00 loan balance. Toyota confirmed that they received payment on 2/1. Since then, I have spoken with 6 agents and three "resolution specialists" to try to get Toyota to release my truck title to me. In EACH INSTANCE, I was assured that the title would be shipped and that the customer service rep would call me with a FedEx tracking number. Mind you, I had to open a FedEx account to receive those assurances.
I started working on this a week ago. As I write this, the evening on Feb 7th, I still don't have my title and it hasn't been shipped. I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Vermont Attorney General. Vermont loves to pursue consumer fraud offenders. I will never buy another Toyota product as a result of this experience.

I was then told it was mailed out but that the apartment number was not on it. I told them that was their error because my address was correct in Toyota's system. They confirmed that it had not come back to Toyota but I didn't have it either. I was then told they could only print one title but they would send the paperwork needed for me to be able to get my FL tag.
As of today, December 5th, I have nothing. I called back today and was on hold at least 40 minutes to talk to a different supervisor, Candace, who was not helpful and somewhat defensive. Nevertheless, I was told more of the same lies today and they stated that the second piece of paperwork was mailed out last week and that I needed to contact the post office. Really??? I am so over it because it shouldn't be this hard to get MY title. They didn't take four weeks to process my payoff payment and I want my title. Any suggestions on what I need to do because my current tag is expired now dealing with all of this. Regardless of good rates or not, I will never finance anything from them again!!! THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!! And from previous complaints, unfortunately this is normal behavior - such a travesty!!

I recently moved to another state, and have been trying to get my title and registration set up in my new state for about two months. This has been impossible to do because TFS continuously claims that they are not receiving the requests for title transfer from both myself and the MVA. I even faxed the request ten times from work one day, all faxes confirmed that they went through. Emailed customer support, still nothing. Now my tags are set to expire from my old state and I still do not have my title and registration set up in my new state. This is absolutely the most horrible customer service I have ever received and the people on the phone just read off of their script and do nothing to help resolve the problem. I even emailed the dealership where I bought the car and asked if there was anything they could do to help me or if I should just contact a lawyer (no response, of course!). I will NEVER buy a Toyota ever again.

I had turned in my 36 month Corolla lease to Mazda in September 2016. Mazda had agreed to payoff my remaining lease payments since I still had until February 2017 with the corolla. They advised me I might be assessed a disposition fee which I was ok with paying since I termed my lease early to switch to mazda. About 3 weeks later, I get a phone call from an unknown number asking me to pay $272 that was remaining on my TFS account. I said I didn't know who she was and I never received a statement, but if she would like to send one, I would pay it. She seemed annoyed by this, but why would I pay a random person without knowing what I am paying for? It took about 2 weeks from Toyota to receive this statement, but I reviewed it and thought it was my disposition fee so I called and paid it. The rep I spoke with said my account was clear and I was all set.
Well, about another 3 weeks later I get ANOTHER statement from Toyota this time asking for $378! I called them to question what this payment was for? The rep told me it was for the disposition fee. I said I just paid $272 a few weeks ago and I was told my account was clear? The rep said "oh yes, I see that payment, it looks like you overpaid and are due a refund" but she was going to check with her team lead and call me back with an accurate answer. She said if I didn't hear from her to call back within a few days for status. Since I never heard from her, I called them back and asked what the outcome was. The rep I talked to said it was reviewed and I was NOT due a refund.
I then asked why I was paying $272 anyways, they told me that Mazda only paid 4 out of 5 lease payments. I said but I was there when they called to get the payoff amount and why would they only pay you 4/5 payments? I was then told I could call Mazda and work it out with them for a refund and that Toyota wouldn't be doing anything and where do I think I'm getting a refund? Umm because that is what your rep told me?
I called Mazda and spoke with the finance manager who worked on my payoff, and he said that was the amount given to him on the automated system. I called Toyota back and they said there was nothing due back to me, so there was nothing left to dispute. I asked to speak with a manager after getting huffs and puffs from the customer service staff and it took 2 days for them to call me back only for the manager to be BEYOND rude. I asked that I have statements sent to me showing all payments I've made toward my lease and then the payment from Mazda.
After 2 weeks and still not getting those statements, I called back asking that I get an extension on my disposition payment since I was waiting on statements to review before I paid them anything more. About a week later I am now just getting these statements. After looking, it shows I've made 33 payments. Mazda has paid 4... something just doesn't seem right. So when I called again today to question this the rep kept talking over me, telling me I'm not getting money back, And I don't have a reason to be mad, which was just infuriating me even more. After I told her I needed to break the payment up into a few payments she said I could only have until December 6th for a payment plan and that I couldn't pay with a credit card.
I will be calling again and bring this to corporate's attention if need be because the way I have been treated my Toyota Financial reps have been so disrespectful, making me look like I'm the idiot, and that I have no reason to be questioning where MY money is going. I will never buy a Toyota again in my lifetime or recommend them to anyone looking for a car.

It is very bad experience to deal with Toyota Finance Services. We visited the Yorkdale dealer 2 weeks ago before lease expire, they perform the pre-inspection and there is nothing required to be repaired, however they asked 2000 dollar for dents which are smaller than repair size. After almost 2 months, they performed another inspection by third party and sent us a bill with more than 1500. We told them we have the pre-assessment and the inspection result cannot be accepted after 2 months since we returned the car. Now we have to go through small claim court to resolve it.

I was a happy Toyota customer until I turned in two leased vehicles recently. My husband and I each leased a Toyota from a large, high volume Massachusetts dealership three years ago. Thanks to the dealerships size and swarms of customers trying to lease/purchase vehicles, we had to quickly sign contract papers after verbally agreeing upon the monthly lease payments and the fact that we did not agree to pay any additional fees. Needless to say we were not given the time or explanation of all the details of our contract.
Fast forward three years after making all payments on time and taking care of the vehicles, when we turned in our clean cars that each were significantly under in mileage, we did due diligence and called Toyota Financial Services (TFS) to make sure we were all set with everything. They told me that we were all set and didn't owe anything. They then mentioned after reviewing my contract again that I would owe a $350 fee plus taxes on each vehicle. I asked why and they said it would be a disposition fee that the dealership was charging.
I called the dealership and they said it wasn't a fee they were charging but rather one TFS was charging. I feel exhausted just trying to explain this next part, but over the last few weeks we were on the phone repeating our confusion and frustration to various departments at TFS for several HOURS over several days. TFS told us they get SEVERAL calls from customers with the same confusion and complaint but still insist there's nothing we can do and we must pay the $750. No one expressed any concern... why would they? They're a large organization and we're just an unknown middle class family.
If we are so unimportant to TFS as a prior (and no longer potential customer I must add) then why on earth is my $750 of hard-earned income at a non-profit so important to them? The deceitfully added fee is supposedly to offset the cost of "all" TFS does for us when we turn in THEIR vehicles. Yeah, let me rush that thank you card. A more ethical practice would have been to either require dealerships to have customers initial next to the fee in the contract or don't charge the fee at the end and ask for it up front. Might help them to not look like the unethical, one-star rated organization they are.
Now that we have to send $750 to help Toyota keep up its revenues and lower our savings, I can guarantee I will never purchase or lease another Toyota in my life. I've already encouraged other members of my large family who have or were planning on getting Toyotas to purchase other vehicles. So sad when companies have no regard for the human factor of doing business.

I am writing this letter of complaint against Toyota Financial Services (TFS) because of all of the back and forth I have had with closing my account. In April 2016, I traded in a 2014 Toyota Venza that was financed through TFS for a 2016 Toyota Camry, that is currently financed through Southeast Toyota. In August, when meeting with a mortgage counselor, I discovered that the 2014 Venza was still appearing on my credit. I immediately called TFS and found out they were not aware of the fact that I traded the car into a local dealership because they have not received the 2014 Toyota Venza back in-house. With that said, I called Southeast Toyota who apologized for not notifying TFS that the vehicle was returned.
After I straightened out that debacle, I called TFS about the third week of August to confirm that the account was closed since they had received confirmation that the vehicle was returned in April. TFS then proceeded to tell me that I still owed a payment of about $444. I could not understand how I still owed money on the vehicle when I had already worked out a deal with Southeast Toyota when I purchased the 2016 Camry. So after asking a few questions to get to the root cause of the error, that’s when TFS stated that the representative with whom I spoke to in April, provided me with the wrong amount and that amount was given to Southeast Toyota when I purchased the 2016 Camry.
I was very upset that the representative had given me the wrong amount, but TFS did nothing to correct the error other than to say that they would use my experience as a “coaching opportunity” for the representative. The call was then escalated to a supervisor with the Mature Leasing services, but the best the manager could offer me was an extension on the due date. He advised that he would extend the due date to October 5, 2016. My husband and I scrambled to pay both my current 2016 Camry’s payment and the 2014 payment in early October.
As soon as we mailed the payment to TFS, I called again to ensure that the payment was received and that the account was closed. However, imagine my surprise on today, October 17th, six months after I traded the vehicle in, when the representative told me that I owe an additional $738 for the miles, which includes the sales tax. I could not believe that once again TFS was telling me that I owe them more money. I tried explaining to the representative that I should have been notified months ago and said that even after I spoke to a supervisor in August, someone should have told me about the miles. Instead, I was only notified after calling today.

I was told that they needed the will which I do understand. Probate gave me a reference number and told me that when I call in to give the reference number. I attempted 5 or 6 times to use the automated which was a joke. Then it sent me to customer service. I told them every time that I have a reference number and I need to speak to probate. They gave me the runaround every time. They would put me on hold with that God awful music (and I use the word loosely). They want an account, a social security number or a vin number. Mind you, I have a REFERENCE number to get to Probate so I thought. I have had to argue with them every time I have called. This is the most sorriest excuse of a company I have ever tried to work with. I don't have time to argue with them for hours.
I finally got the payoff and wanted to give them a check over the phone. I was told that I would have to make several calls to pay it off because they can only accept 3,000.00 at a time. Ok, here I am trying to pay this vehicle OFF!!! And they tell me I'll have to make several calls??? I have been a vice president for a company for many. I know how a company should work. I would like to add I even report it to your customer service center but still I have not digest the way I have been treated by your employee.
First of all, let me describe my history to you, I have bought my first car ever in Quebec which is a Toyota Corolla LE- Automatic Transmission. The car is superfine and I had the car in my possession and already run a mileage of 2000K. I received a phone call from Joseph from Financial Services. First of all, no number appeared on my mobile screen. Secondly, this guy starts to introduce himself and soon starts to raise his voice tone and start holding me responsible that it was my responsibility to call back to report that the weekly payment is still to be due.
He was very aggressive and bossy, I must admit that I had to interfere and let him know that he has no right to talk to I'm like that because it is not my fault and therefore I am the customer who is paying for the car. No empathy nor apology from his side as if he took me for granted. He even threatened me that this will affect my credit history if I don't pay your company the soonest possible. Many things on, I even complained to Mark, his supervisor, and send a letter to the Financial Director, which I think he might been busy not even to respond to my letter. Because nobody cares for customer feedbacks and values.
Well, I would like to inform you that your cars are super well but just the way that mere employee behaved I am no longer turning back to Toyota and even telling friends my worst experience I have had with your employee. I wish to say that I refused Honda Civic 2016 (St. Constant - which you may cross check to see that I am lying) and came to you but this the way how I was treated. In short, I just got laid off from my job, and Toyota Financial didn't care. They totally denied getting me an extension which is actually a deferred payment. It blows my mind that this company is going to get the payment anyway, so why not work with their consumers to give themselves a great reputation instead of being known as money hungry beasts. They couldn't give me a straight answer when I asked why I couldn't get a deferred payment. Just gave me a blanket answer which consisted of random reasons why I might not have been able to get it.
Florence, the rep I was speaking to, seemed very short and not helpful at all. Not even sympathetic. How would she feel if she lost her job, and couldn't make her ridiculously high car payment, and got threatened with a repo? What added insult to injury was that they dared to tell me, "We will mark your payment as late and add a late fee with report to the credit bureaus if your payment is not received within 30 days, so it's better that you resume your payment for this month." I have 2 leases with Toyota Financial: A Corolla and an Avalon. After a year of calling Toyota to inquire why my account assessed a late fee every month it was because my county had my Corolla listed to be charged as business use, not personal use, so I was being charged a higher tax rate for 3 years. I called attention to it, Toyota was made aware, the County I live in adjusted the tax rate and issued Toyota a refund check to be applied to my account in the area of $850.00.
Toyota has cashed these checks days after they were mailed but has not applied them to my account. I have spoken with countless members of the so called "customer service" team who act as though you are an obstinate child when you call, I have been transferred without even being asked to hold to collections more times than I would like to count and been treated like a dreg of society, I have spoke with members of the laughable "customer resolutions team" whose hours do not correlate with any member of society, so God forbid a person go to work to pay their bills, you will certainly not be able to catch a member of this elusive team in a timely manner. I have even spoke with members of the Corporate team.
The executive administrator to the President of Toyota Financial Services Adrian **, who apologized profusely, acted horrified, assured me he would call me back the next day with information and I am still waiting for his return call. I fixed this problem with NO HELP from Toyota and now not only will they not, for whatever reason, appropriate these funds to my account, they had the audacity to SEND OUT 3 YEARS OF PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX TO MY COUNTY!!! So, instead of any of these people who are supposed to be fixing this problem, fixing it, they have made it nearly $800.00 worse. These are some of the rudest, most unprofessional, ridiculous, non-customer service having people I have had the misfortune of dealing with. Incompetence does not even begin to describe this financial institution.
This has been going on for a year and everyone I speak with assures me they will save the day and fix it and then they promptly lose my number. I know for sure, if I owed Toyota this amount of money, they most certainly would not have waited a year for it. This company has informed me that they have a personal property tax team working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and I have yet to hear from that "team" and the problem is worse, not better. If you want to give your money to a bunch of irresponsible people who cash checks and then "can't find" the money so they don't credit your account then this is the place for you. When selecting our loan term, the finance person we worked with described an option for making smaller bi-monthly payments instead of monthly payments. This would reduce the overall interest paid on the loan and also cut our overall loan term by a few months. It seemed like a great deal and no reason not to choose the bi-monthly option.
We come to find out afterwards that Toyota processes this service through AutoPay Plus (which seems like a fine institution) which charges a $1.95 fee for initial signup, a $1.95 fee for each transaction ($3.90 per month) and a $399 "Program Fee" - which essentially will eat all of the savings we might obtain by paying less interest and prepaying the loan a few months ahead of time. None of these fees were described when the option was presented to us and we never would have selected this program had we known about these costs. Our loan is still relatively new and I'm hopeful that we can cancel our account with AutoPay Plus before they process the $399 fee. I may try to refinance this car loan as soon as I can so that it is not directly through Toyota any longer. I would not deal with this group again.
