    I received a letter from IRS that I will pay back tax return of 2017, I scan the letter and send to TaxAudit. The answer was promptly and before the day of court IRS cancel my bill after the reaction of TaxAudit.

    I properly claimed a tuition credit and provided extensive supporting documentation. In fact, the IRS dropped its initial demand of almost $3,000 to $350. Tax Audit seemed to think that this was "enough." The day before the next IRS deadline, the Tax Audit rep for the first time claimed he couldn't, or wouldn't, do anything else. He was not even familiar with the facts or with the documentation I had provided. (My case number with Tax Audit is **). I had paid for this service for many years. As soon as I needed it, they did a half-hearted job at best.

    I received a letter from the IRS and proceeded to start process recommended by tax audit. Once I turned in all of the required documents. The representative calls me and in fact the document provided will not work and that I made a mistake inputting numbers and to simply wait for the next letter for the IRS. When I asked about the deadline the IRS gave me she told me to simply wait and she will not be submitting any of the information I gave her. Now I am Just waiting for another doomsday letter from the IRS. How is this audit protection or defense.

    It was nice to have your backup service. As it turned out I did make an error and I already have paid the IRS for the taxes due. Jason was very helpful and dealt with the IRS for me so I did not have to be intimidated. I think the mistake was caused when I subtracted my 2 exemptions from my taxable income and the system had already accounted for them.

    I purchased this after doing my taxes on TurboTax last year even though TurboTax stated that my chances of being audited were very slim. Well TurboTax was wrong and I was audited. I then contacted TaxAudit and they said my case was not eligible. I expressed my dismay by their lack of services. Then they called me back 2 days later saying that I was eligible for referral to a tax attorney but had to pay a few hundred dollars extra so they could look at it (more money and more money). In fact, they keep harassing me to purchase more services from them. I contacted the IRS myself and it seems reasonable for me to handle on my own without TaxAudit.com. TaxAudit.com IS A TOTAL FRAUD!! They will not help you if you are audited!! Save yourself money and peace of mind and avoid TaxAudit.com.

    I was frustrated and scared when I got my audit notice last summer, and I knew it was going to be an uphill battle since I lost most of my personal records during Hurricane Harvey. However, Tammie was there to help keep my head up throughout the whole audit process. She had my back when I challenged my audit's findings after I discovered an erroneous judgement/ruling by the auditor. Turns out not all auditors know the law or know what OFFICIAL publications and flow charts are on the irs.gov website that are there to help guide tax payers determine if certain things qualify for deductions. I wouldn't have been able to get through this without her, and I would have owed much more than what I am paying after a successful rebuttal if it weren't for her.

    My experience with TaxAudit.com was horrible. And not because the audit didn't go well. But the person they assigned to me (subcontracted) never seemed to have time for me. My expectation was that a company/person helping me with an audit would do these things.
    * Introduce themselves and give me some insight into their background.
    * Review the audit documents (from the IRS in this case) and make sure I understood what they were questioning.
    * Review my business so they understood what I did and why the expenses were justified and part of my business.

    * Review the return in question so they could understand how I calculated my numbers.

    * Explain any areas where my deductions or calculations were wrong/not allowed.
    * Explain the audit process.
    * Develop a strategy to defend my return in the audit.
    * Explain what would happen as the audit progressed.
    * Determine what documents would be needed for the upcoming audit.

    * Accompany me to all meetings with the auditor. * Explain any conclusions of any meetings with the auditor.

    However, what actually happened was I had to repeatedly asked to talk with the person assigned (subcontracted) to help me with my audit. The person called somewhat reluctantly and told me to make copies of every document in my records for that year and fax them. (A file box with records that was about 24 inches of documents.) They cancelled the pre-audit meeting with me and showed up an hour or so before their meeting with the auditor. They told me I could not attend the meeting with the auditor, and that if I met with the auditor they would not represent me. (I had successfully, by myself, defended my return in two previous audits.) They met with the auditor not at all understanding my business or my return. (No surprises.) All of the expenses the auditor had questioned were disallowed, along with thousands of dollars of additional expenses not questioned in the original audit documents.

    Absolutely horrible experience. In retrospect, I should have handled the audit independently. I should have known the experience would be awful based on the very first call. The accountant was rude and clearly annoyed to have another case to deal with...the process was riddled with negativity, repeat questions, poor planning! I sent logs within hours of notice. Not one word until we were near the deadline to submit them. Told to redo all the logs. A true one point, I asked if they were representing me or the state.

    This was a complete waste of money and time. I have pause of this service with each return for as long as I can remember. Never again! Not one penny! Do yourself a favor. Save the $50, outside, in time you will have enough to use to get an accountants help if you are audited. I am convinced this is a scam and there is not intention of helping the consumer. My audit issue isn't even a big issue and they are still awful. SCAM!! They are just opportunists. It is a numbers game to get you to pay the $50 & then they do minimal to nothing if you are audited! It is a good scam, likely a lot of people getting rush. Glad I found out now!

    This has been a very disappointing experience. They don't defend you. They don't negotiate for you, they don't assist with payment set ups. They don't help with Offers of Compromise. All they do is make sure the IRS is billing you correctly. In my case, they didn't and I did/will be paying less, but not much. In the end, it would have been cheaper to just pay what they said I owed because of the frustration of dealing with TaxAudit and their inability to actually defend/assist you. It really feels like they are working for the IRS and not you. I feel I overpaid for the service.

    I purchased TaxAudit.com service first in 2014 through TurboTax just in case I get audited by the IRS. I totally forgot about the purchase until I got a letter (about my 2015 tax-return filing) from the IRS in May 2017. Nobody could imagine how terrified I was by the letter! My whole body was trembling, and I could not even breathe correctly. I did not even have the gut to look into my tax files for a while. Finally, I reviewed my 2015 tax-return files and found that I had purchased a TaxAudit.com service for 2015. This gave me some relief that I was not alone against the IRS.

    However, before I contacted the TaxAudit.com, I reviewed some customer reviews of TaxAudit.com services on many different websites. I found that a lot of the reviews were very negative such as saying that TaxAudit.com was looking for ways not to represent the client and just focusing on closing the case. Thus, I did not expect much when I actually contacted TaxAudit.com in June 2017.

    The company assigned me an agent in my area Jim **. When I had the first conversation with Jim on the phone, he was very enthusiastic about helping me, which was totally unexpected. More importantly, he convinced me that I would not have to terrified by or scared of the IRS letter, and that receiving a letter from the IRS does not mean that I am dishonest or bad because everybody makes a mistake. When I met him in person, I finally started trusting him because I found that he really wanted to help me. He explained what the IRS meant about each section of the letter and what I need to do for the sections to defend myself from the IRS. I found all of the receipts that he asked me to find for each section of my tax file and made several binders for the receipts.

    While I was preparing for all of these, I had many questions and talked with him on the phone many times. This was because he told me that I could call him anytime, even at night and weekends. I am sure that I have been one of the most annoying clients he has ever had in his almost 20 years of tax-preparation professional career because I called him so many times with stupid questions. Whenever I called him, however, he was extremely kind and explained his answers repeatedly and patiently to my questions. Sometimes, I even thought that he did not have any personal life because he helped me almost immediately whenever I needed his help.

    Jim filed my response to the IRS letter on my behalf in July 2017. Several months later, he also contacted the supervisor of my IRS examiner when he found that the examiner had not done what she was supposed to do. This means that he was more knowledgeable than some of the IRS examiners regarding the procedures of IRS investigations. I checked my mail every single day for eight months until I finally got another letter from the IRS, and meanwhile Jim was very supportive of me and helped me not worry about the possible outcome. I received a letter from the IRS that was an evaluation of/conclusion about my case in March 2018. Jim asked me to find what kind of documents and receipts and sent the second response to the IRS.

    In May 2018, I finally received the final letter for closing the case, which stated that I do not owe any additional taxes. From the time that I got the first letter to the time that I got the final letter from the IRS, I was under extreme pressures. However, Jim was dedicated to his career as a tax-preparation professional who helps his clients with dealing with the IRS. He was very thorough when preparing his responses to the IRS on behalf of his clients. His supervisors in TaxAudit.com also worked with him to ensure the quality of his services that were provided to the clients. Most importantly, Jim was also very empathetic about his clients’ feelings and emotions related to the stresses that were involved in dealing with the IRS.

    I was told that they would help me out if there was an audit. I have wasted weeks of my time only to feel like they did NOTHING to help me. I was audited for 2015 taxes and all I did was get all the information need for them to tell me... NO! I really thought I was paying for a service that could help, I did most the work.     I used TurboTax is how I ended up with these guys. Never again. I received a letter from the IRS auditing My 2015 taxes. After contacting them their representative Jason ** contacted me. He said I needed to send him information. After sending him the materials he requested he then said what I sent him wasn’t good enough. He needs more detailed info with receipts. I explained to him that I do not have the additional information. What I sent him is all I have. He said the IRS will not accept that. I asked him to please send it in and see what they say. He refused. His response was if I cannot provide the Additional information to him they would have to close my case. These guys did absolutely nothing to help me. They are a joke. So my case is closed because these guys won’t do their job. They should have to at least attempt to help people but they don’t. They just make excuse after excuse.

    I used them three times. I will no longer buy their service. They dump the customer as fast as possible for reasons as slight as not returning a message soon enough. They look for ways to not represent the client to the fullest while focusing on closing the case and therefore dumping the client which appears to be a pattern. I actually had to represent myself in the first case and third case even though they were under contract. The second case, was small and they closed the case for me not responding in time - a week or so while I was busy.

    The contract appears to be an agreement for them to NOT represent the client. I feel as if they are an insurance policy to let the customer know that they are being audited and then lack the fiduciary duty that is needed to fully protect a customer from the IRS which then goes ahead and charges interest on top of penalties and more. The tax code and system is very complex and expensive with the responsibility on the taxpayer to run the system perfectly while the IRS employs full time lawyers to sue and penalize the taxpayer. This audit insurance may sound affordable and worthwhile but you get what you pay for and they treat you that way.

    I have paid for audit defense membership and premium membership, 2 products at the TaxAudit.com of TurboTax company. TaxAudit.com got the IRS audit letter and worked on my behalf since Jan 2014. They then resigned with IRS in June 2016. I received IRS notice in July 2016 and found out about the resignation. During Jan 2014 thru June 2016, TaxAudit.com helped the IRS to expand the audit from 1 year to 4 years. Nothing was done. I was told I cannot contact IRS myself. TaxAudit.com got no IRS notices and I also got no IRS notices. I have to hire other EA to finish the audit after TaxAudit.com resign in 2016. By that time, the IRS agent dumped my files and I had to hire EA to file appeal. TaxAudit.com basically sold my case and conspire with the IRS office.

    TaxAudit.com is the company that administrates this audit defense service. Their only objective is to get rid of you. They are not interested in your audit or helping your business. I am a serial entrepreneur and have had many businesses over the years. After 30 years in various businesses I got audited during the Obama IRS years in 2012. Big surprise. After showing TaxAudit.com my source of funds and proof of expenses, they were like, sorry, cannot help you. They won't even try to help you unless you they can confirm every receipt and every canceled check. But most of us as small business owners in the 21st Century don't even have receipts and canceled checks! They don't exist anymore! I had every transaction recorded in MINT, both INCOME and EXPENSES. Oh, the IRS will accept a bank statement for your INCOME, but not EXPENSES!?! What the hell???

    Bottom line: TaxAudit.com is WASTE OF MONEY. Don't buy their worthless services. They don't want to help you and they don't care about you. The guy I talked with named Johnathan even questioned whether I was even a legitimate business, trying to make me feel bad for running a business that brought in $20K with $23K in expenses! Every entrepreneur has to start a business somewhere. But TaxAudit.com could not have been more disinterested in helping me. Don't bother. You'll be wasting your time and money.

    The TaxAudit.com office in Folsom, California is a total scam. Repeated delays, uneducated staff (Susie & Ivanna), and a total lack of motivation to represent you. Their game is to get you to continue to complete numerous surveys and spend hundreds of hours providing documentation with no intention of making a reasonable effort to argue your case. No matter what you furnish, they create another excuse why it isn't enough, then after months make every excuse why they can't do anything.

    When I finally called them on their delay game, they stated "we always ask for the penalties to be forgiven". We were finally notified of a $37,000 debt by a letter from the IRS, not even a courtesy call by TaxAudit.com. I'm not even sure they ever even met with the IRS auditor. After three months of running us ragged doing their work, TaxAudit.com wasn't able to negotiate ONE CENT off our IRS debt. If I could rate them as less than one star I would. In fact, in my opinion they represent the IRS and not the taxpayer. If you have any doubt where your money is going, drive by their fancy new offices in Folsom and see where your money is going.

    I sent my letter from the PA Dept of Rev. to TaxAudit.com the day after I received it, along with a detailed response to their concerns. A few days later I received a call from my rep. During our initial contact, she had not read the detailed letter I'd sent her with my response to each of the tax agency's concerns. She seemed very annoyed to have to find and read letter, but eventually did. She then told me I'd need to procure all the documentation (dozens to hundreds of pages) in 5 days to respond to their letter. When I told her this wasn't enough time, she didn't know what to do. When I asked if we could send them the explanation I'd written, she said, "sure", and told me I had to fax back a power of attorney ASAP, and that she'd send the power of attorney form to me the next day.

    She did not send it the next day. I wrote at the end of the day asking for it (a Friday). She sent it Monday and I immediately faxed it back. On Tuesday, she left me a message introducing herself and asking for info about my case. When I called back reminding her we'd already discussed everything and she was supposed to have a letter sent to PA the day before, she vaguely remembered and assured me she'd fax it back to PA on Wed (the deadline). I then received a message from her the *following* Monday saying she'd just faxed PA the letter I wrote, 5 days late. I could have faxed the letter myself the day I received the notice from the PA. This service did nothing except make me miss the deadline for replying.

    My refund didn't show up, so I ended up calling the IRS and after hours of calls, they connected me to an agent who told me that there was supposed to be a notice sent out but for some reason it hadn't been sent out and that I needed to come in for an appointment which ended up being in two days. At this point I contacted Audit Defense as this was the primary reason I got them, and instead of offering to assist, they gave me the runaround.

    First they said I need a physical notice and agent info, and when I told them that neither was provided and I have a physical appointment, the rep elevated to supervisor who researched and determined that they could in fact proceed without a notice or agent name and transferred me to a rep who eventually said she would help start the process for the audit and that I should "have no further contact with the IRS" and they will handle it and she will get someone to help me and I would be contacted.

    Shortly after that I got a call from the person who was supposed to help who told me that they WOULD NOT actually come and and wanted me to go contact the IRS and force them to send me a notice and then get the Agents and Details before they would consider doing something, when I explained that a - the IRS said the notice would not be sent out and that I needed to come in person and b - that they couldn't show me anywhere in their contract that said I would have to have a physical notice to get help from them, they said that they basically didn't care and essentially I can sue them if I want. In my opinion, this is a scam and they just pay the odds of a buyer actually getting audited and then the odds of the buyer suing them when they fail to help. I would strongly recommend you save your money. I plan to get a tax attorney and then sue them for expenses and losses.

    This group, from the beginning, did not want to handle my tax audit. I have paid for their services for years (7) and never needed (*or thought I needed) their services, until now. The group is in California and they call you when it suits them and they do not answer your phone calls as Dale, **, person number 6 with the organization, told me because she was eating her lunch. She only answered the phone because it kept ringing, per her. She told me she was sorry I didn't know the tax codes, and this when she hadn't even looked at the paperwork. She told me that she didn't have certain tax paperwork when I sent it months ago (2014 and 2015 tax paperwork; 200 plus pages each). She told me the letter from my employer and any work paperwork was useless, when I was verbally told by person number 2 that I needed them.

    Back to lovely Dale, I had to provide documents to her from home, so I did it via phone and converted them to pdf (because my scanner decided to not communicate with the laptop - it was my only option) and she said they were of such poor quality she didn't think she could use them. I had her on speaker phone and my 6 year old listened to her berate me and be rude to me as well as my husband. She refused to acknowledge what she missed, and then dismissed items because she thought she didn't need them. I called this organization numerous times, but if they don't answer, it is ok. Oh and you better document that you called them every time in the game of tag, because if you do not, they will say you didn't and insist on closing the case at every turn. If you can't answer them because they call you at peak work hours, well you might as well do it yourself.

    Finally, I asked this lovely Dale if she would be filing the paperwork or not and she made it clear that only if she "thought" the paperwork was "sufficient". I said, "so, that means you are not going to do anything." I left 2 messages with Mike, her supervisor, at **. He didn't answer 7 times. I told him not to bother calling on three second try and instructed Dale to withdraw, since that is ultimately what they wanted. I called TurboTax, explained what happened and they refunded me for the "services" I did not receive. DO NOT EVER USE OR PURCHASE. Spread the word and warn the people you like. Horrible experience and organization. In the end, the organization ruined our evening and caused us to miss my son's medical appointment. WORTHLESS.

    Will help you with anything. Very friendly people. Are English speaking people that you can actually understand. They will also talk to you anytime. So far it's been safe, I haven't had any sort of problems. Hopefully that won't change. They don't send out your info out to everybody and that's what I look for in a business.     The information you put in about you while filing your taxes is as protected as other tax websites. I haven't file for a long time but when I did I never had to worry about anyone getting my data. The refund can be a quick process if you filed everything correctly and didn't leave anything important out.     Online customer services was very convenient and informative. Customer service representatives were very helpful to me in the filing process. I felt very comfortable with providing my personal information and data on the company's website. I trusted this website to hold this information on file to complete my taxes without worrying about my rights being violated. I was dissatisfied about my refund experience because the return amount was too low compared to the other rates that were offered. I was also dissatisfied with the IRS processing fee rates which were very expensive.     The representatives were very helpful and explained in full detail how the service works. I especially like that once we file a return through the company that they will defend us against a tax audit for as long as the return can be audit by the IRS. Provided my company with real peace of mind. This product uses very contemporary security features to make sure that my company's information is protected from potential hackers.     If I got stuck on the software, I could call the toll free line to get help, or send them an email. I thought that was helpful because sometimes you aren't sure of what to key in. I felt confident that my data would be secure. They have the latest technology to keep my data encrypted, and I was not too worried on that part. The refund process I thought isn't as fast as it should. I think there is more room to improve on the return process. It takes time to get to the customer service for this issue. It is straightforward in that you put in the data that it asks for, and you do get a sense that you are following the right procedure, but there are times when the software gives you an error that you do need customer service to understand.

    This was by far the best customer service simply because of the knowledgeable staff they have. Should you run into any problems with your taxes the help button is right there and all you have to do is hit the button. It's almost like you have your own security team right next to you while you fill out your taxes. I felt in no danger of any foul-ups or any threat to my security while doing my taxes. This is the best part. They tell you right then at the finished of filing your taxes what the outcome is and should you get a refund they tell you how much right then. I had to constantly give them a security question due to the fact of my identify protection. They said you cannot be too safe nowadays. The refund experience was great. I got my refund pretty fast.     I think it could have been more useful. It seemed to get me distraught at times more than once. But I will probably use the product again. It was a good learning tool. The security was good. I wish I could have gotten more on my refund. But hey money is money. It's better than owing money to the government. Hopefully this helps out to future customers.     TurboTax Tax Audit Defense purchase a big waste of money. Audit for 2013. Tax Audit.com first said well "it's only $3000" like it wasn't worth their precious time. They had me fax all the documents IRS requested. Heard nothing at all for weeks then got IRS notice -- now owed $4000+ -- IRS requested same docs as I had already sent to Turbotax Audit Defense guy. I called -- 'not in this week'. Then next week -- well I sent in docs you sent. "Now what" was my question. "Well I can't do more than that". No help at all. DO NOT BUY THIS FAKE 'PROTECTION'. In fact -- use Tax Cut at least. H&R Block will help you.

    It is the luck of the draw, who they assign. 2011 Audit had a Patrick **... He was super and no longer with the company now. 2013, got another guy... who was mostly non-responsive, not reassuring, and didn't want to fight the IRS on anything. He did get bill reduced from $9,000 to $7,000 based on the docs I provided. But refused to fight for miles to the Pharmacy to pick up Rxs... Said, "Not that much involved." Charity deductions all disallowed, even those I check carbon copies for and also all cash deductions. Then hit with math error penalty... as could not find, a year after filing, all my medical deduction records. They refused to fight the IRS on these too. Finally, I paid the penalty, interest, and assessment in full... $7,133.00 last November.

    Just got Notice of Deficiency... Claim they didn't get the penalty money. I have copy of canceled check, was paid in full. I sent this to TaxAudit.com 2 days ago... Also to the Examiner's supervisor, another Patrick **. Also IRS sent them the notices too, as still have my power of attorney. Also, another Examiner was assigned, he got copy of the IRS notice too. He was worse than first, real smart ass attitude, did nothing. No reply form them at all. Meanwhile, filed 483 form with IRS asking for abatement of interest and penalty... as have blood cancer and it affects my abilities, memory, etc. Moreover, never had been hit with penalty or assessment in my 73 years with the IRS.

    When the IRS focused on me due to a profile based upon my income and I realized I needed professional help, I relied on the service I had already paid for with TaxAudit.com. The experience was abominable! The entire ordeal was laced with excuses, and long explanations of what they could not, and would not do. It didnt matter what material and how many documents I provided; it was never enough for the case officer to do his job. After wasting way too many of my time and energy compiling material to satisfy my representatives (sic) demands in order to refute the IRS claims, TaxAudit.com finally refused to move forward on my case. I hired a real tax attorney/accountant and won the case.

    I have been audited for two years taxes. In both years, Turbo Tax provided the program and I added the data asked. For some reason one particular box did not populate with the answer so the program neglected to enter the taxable amount. The program review said everything was peachy dandy and no need to worry about an audit.

    I bought and paid for the Tax Audit Protection and now owe $45,000 in back taxes (IRS did not notify of an audit - that's a whole other issue) so I called the turbo tax people and they provided a very nice tax person to my case. As it turns out I too was told to contact IRS after it explicitly said not to in there. Even though this was a "program error" it was my responsibility to review every line to make sure it was all correct. They would not defend their error because after all most errors are operator error even though this was a specific problem with the tax program itself. DO NOT USE Turbo Tax and certainly don't buy their audit protection. What a scam!!

    Although contacting TaxAudit.com was very easy and I dealt with a very pleasant person to get things started... straight downhill from there. The person assigned to my case was not in the least bit interested in the actual outcome. After trying to get some sort of actual intelligent, knowledgeable information from him I went through my TurboTax-prepared forms myself, line-by-line, number-by-number. After agonizing over the forms I discovered the issue myself and passed on the info to the agent. His only response was that I COULD contact the IRS and... Excuse me, but I thought that was what TaxAudit would do. No? My "we're so happy you've entered into this relationship with us" letter from TaxAudit specifically states that's what they'll do and, in fact, that they should be the only contact with the IRS once your case is opened.

    Since TurboTax imported my W2 online and applied those numbers to my tax filing, reviewed the final forms TWICE for errors and found none, reviewed again for any likelihood of audit flags and found none, I felt confident my filing was complete, accurate, and ready to go. After a fair amount of hesitation I decided to also purchase the TaxAudit coverage. I could have flushed that $40 right down the toilet.

    I received a notice from the IRS and called TaxAudit.com to help me out, per the contract I had signed at TurboTax. I spoke with Tina who was terrific, went through the process and told me someone would be able to help me out and even look for other deductions. Shortly thereafter I heard from Katie, also from TaxAudit.com who told me she would be managing my case and would assign a representative to work with me. Then I received a call from Jean who told me that she would actually not be able to assist me (as I needed to do an amended return). She was incredibly unfamiliar with the TurboTax sight, and when directing me to download the 2014 software, was completely unprepared as I was using a Mac. The entire call was an exercise in frustration.

    I have continued to provide the requested information and over and over, await a week to several week response time, eventually watching my deadline disappear. My audit counselor does not answer phone calls and if I miss a call from him, doesn't pick up even 30 seconds after a missed call. He doesn't care about anything but not being fired for doing a horrible job.

    I received a tax audit for schedule C. I have 200 Items (receipts) for meals and entertainment and over 1000 trips for mileage. The auditor they assigned knew nothing about anything let alone my business. He asked me to write a 10 page paper explaining my business and 2-3 paragraphs explaining every meal and every trip. I explained at 5 min per that would take 100 hours. He explained that's what I had to do for him to represent me. Needless to say I did the three hour audit on my own. Turbo tax Audit protection is a complete joke.

    I have been purchasing the tax audit service through Turbo Tax for close to 10 years, but never needed to use it. That changed a few months ago. I received a notice that both my 2012 and 2013 tax returns were being audited. I contacted the TaxAudit folks and they had me upload all of the data to a secure portal. They then introduced me to a CPA firm close to my home, and I had a couple of conference calls with them and provided a lot of supporting documentation.

    The CPA met with the IRS agent for the face-to-face audit. I did not have to attend. After one or two meetings with the IRS on my behalf, I received a confirmation letter from the IRS that they were making no changes to my tax returns. It ended up being a zero change audit. I was very satisfied with TaxAudit and the firm they assigned to my case. I've paid about $500 over the past 10 years to have my returns protected. This one case would have cost 3-4 times that amount if I was paying for the CPA's services out-of-pocket.

    My experience with this company is that they are worthless. I got a notice and they did nothing to help my situation or to reduce what I owed being that is what they promise... I could have handled this tax letter myself... Don't waste your money... The agent that handled my situation seem real smug and would not listen to what I had to say.

    I got an IRS tax audit letter for my 2011 form, which penalized me for more than $6,000. Before responding to the IRS letter, I contacted TaxAudit (TurboTax service). After evaluating my case, TaxAudit agent asked me for specific documentations, which I supplied though their secured WEB site. They've responded to the IRS for me. There were two more related IRS letters, but the TaxAudit agent knew exactly what needed to be done. After about six weeks, the case was resolved. I've received an IRS final decision letter stating that I owe them nothing ($0.00). In short, I'm happy I became a TaxAudit.com member in time. My IRS audit was resolved smoothly and professionally.

    Guys, I hope everyone who is using TurboTax sees these complaints. No one should ever take audit protection through Tax Resources/Tax Audit when they use TurboTax. I did for 2010 and paid dearly.

    I was audited by the IRS. Tax Resources was supposed to provide me with a representative to represent me in the audit. I diligently prepared all the documents needed for the audit but the representative failed to turn up and neither was I informed. So I received an NoD (notice of deficiency) from the IRS along with a huge bill. The company did not accept responsibility. However, they agreed to help represent me - first they filed a case in the US Tax Court (which they said they wouldn't represent me) and then said they would work with the appeals office for an out of court settlement.

    I spent about 300 hours preparing detailed receipts and reports on business expenses. Finally, they met with the IRS. However, my gigantic bill was barely reduced by 30% although I had proof of expenses for most of the expenses.

    I decided to talk to the IRS appeals officer myself to request that my bills be considered. I realized that Tax Resources had done nothing but pass my documentation to the IRS. I repeat - Tax Resources did nothing that would help my case. Instead, the lawyer called me and angrily asked that I not talk to the IRS directly - and simply withdrew from the case. Tax Resources sent me notices that they would not represent me. Finally, I had to negotiate with the IRS on my own and I managed to reduce the tax bill by 70%.

    I wish I had never paid these cheats any money and I wish I had done the audit on my own right from the beginning instead of going through 2 harrowing years. I repeat, Tax Resources did nothing to help me.

    Since 2004 I have purchased a Audit Defense Membership contract for each tax year through TaxResources Inc (Turbo Tax affiliate). This year I relieved an email from the company saying that consumers received an incorrect order form from them and that a new one would be coming in the mail.

    I received a 2010 renewal order form from them with confidential information about another individual's account including their account number, account key, phone number, address and email address. I can only assume that my information went to someone else. This is unacceptable. I have tried to reach them by phone and have not been successful.

    What can I do other than never order this service again?

    We used Turbo Tax to do our 2007 taxes. We paid for audit protection which came from tax resources. Due to an attempt by ex to claim my daughter (which I hold legal claim), we were flagged by IRS. We tried to clear up by providing IRS with documentation, but were sent a notice of audit. Next, we received another notice that my wife was being audited for 2005 and 2006. We married in '07. So, we contacted tax resources to cover us for additional years. They charged us $3,000 for the additional coverage. The person, (Andrews) came up from Richmond and started reviewing our documentation. He met with the IRS person at our home and all seemed well. Well, they have supposedly met in DC since then. We finally got a notice that 2005 was a no change year.

    Next, we got notices that IRS wanted to disallow '06 and most of '07 deductions. We disagreed and Andrews was told to request a meeting with agent's supervisor which I would attend. After many weeks, we received a notice that IRS was issuing a no change for '07. Still no news on '06. Next, we received a bill for '06 and the tax resources person, Andrews, will not return calls. Neither will the home office in California.

    I filed my 2008 taxes with TurboTax. The state of MA informed me that I was being audited. I had purchased audit insurance through TurboTax which is Tax Resources Inc. Initially, IRS (MA) only wanted our S.S. for my two children and wife. I supplied them with such but I did not have a card. I applied for a SS card and once I received the card, a photo copy was sent to the IRS (MA). Another notice was sent with a request to supply my transactions and bills for my business. They also requested a typed 1099 from a company I had worked as they did not accept a hand written 1099. I tried to contact the employer but they never responded to my requests. I contacted TaxResources and they advised me not to contact the IRS anymore and to go through them for all the communications.

    They requested I sent the original notice. I did. They requested that I send the tax forms. I did. I waited and no response was received. I got another notice from the IRS (MA). Since it was delayed and I did not respond, they now requested that I send the years 2006, 2007, 2008. I contacted TaxR with this and sent the new IRS (MA) request. I communicated with emails. They kept sending an authorization email to be able to discuss these issues through email. I complained that they had not sent me a form for legal representation yet. I also complained that I was not receiving any updates. On Dec 23rd, I got a notice from the IRS (MA) that they were disallowing my returns for tax years 2006, 2007 and 2008 which add to a total of $7000! I contacted TaxR and they suggested that I sent the new request. I asked if they had started the case yet and they informed me that they needed the new request. I sent the request.

    Today Jan 20th, I got an email from TaxR that they were not representing me since I had not submitted all the forms. I contacted TaxR and let them know that I had submitted all the forms they requested. They responded that the Dec 23rd was not complete. I asked what do the notices have to do with contacting the IRS. They responded that they have to respond to the last notice that I received to which I asked why they did not respond to the first notice. They answered, "I don't know," but they are not going to represent me. I could have taken care of this myself way before this but I trusted TaxResources to handle this issues.

    Now, they basically said I am on my own. I have a son that is 3 and another 11. My house is ready to go into foreclosure any day. I do not have life insurance, I can't afford it. So I am not worth anything dead to my family. The only one that has a consistent job is my wife. If these items are not resolved and they chose to attach my wife's wages. I will no longer have a family. I did not cheat or lie on my taxes. That is too irresponsible. I have not been able to pay my mortgage in a year. I had a basement flood last year due to the lack of power for four days (no sump pump. I thought that TaxR would take care of these issues with the IRS (MA). Now, I've been dumped after all the hoops that they made me jump.

    I can not believe that TaxR, after all they requested, and all the questions that I posed for them to contact the IRS (MA),is not representing me. I am left alone to solve these items. I will have no home, no family and owe the IRS $7000. I am never using Turbo Tax again.

    I started using TurboTax in 2006 when I got my real estate license. I did use EzTax return but you could not take deductions for a home office. This year, I received notification from IRS that I was being audited. I have been doing my taxes and never have I been audited. After looking over, I realized that I had purchased their TurboTax audit protection which was from Tax Resources. After being assigned to a George **, I realized TurboTax was just a computer and was inaccurate in their instructions on what could and could not be done.

    Example: Stated you could just use the beginning and ending mileage without a daily log. I have been going through an audit since March 2009 and I have submitted several thousand pieces of documentation to support my tax return. It appeared IRS just kept disallowing them because they can. They requested a mileage log, I submitted. Then they said they wanted receipts to support the mileage, I gave them that. They requested proof from my employer that I worked from home and was not provided a desk. They rejected that. They disallowed all my Goodwill deductions, not one cent allowed. I had all my Goodwill receipts and my spread sheets of what I had given. I had $4,400.00 in advertising expenses (receipts were given), they denied that.

    TurboTax and Tax Resources is a scam. I sent thousands of records to Tax Resources and he brought it all back when he came a few months ago. Nothing had been done with it. I spent about $300 getting these records together and mailing them and nothing was done. He gave them back to me. I have been faxing and emailing records to him as requested and to find out this CPA from Tax Resources was just emailing them to the IRS. What happened to him personally meeting with the IRS and representing me, something is fishy when they are just emailing back and forth. He said that with the IRS we are all crooks, liars and dishonest until they prove otherwise. He said I should never file taxes on time, that it is a red flag. I have always taken pride in filing my taxes on time. I would like a tax attorney's help in this matter. I feel a class action suit needs to be filed against Tax Resources and TurboTax.

    I have devoted all my time since March 2009 trying to prepare and get together the documents requested. I have had a huge loss of income as a result from this audit. It has not allowed me to work and make money. I am a realtor so I am on commission only. This has also caused me huge stress and affected me mentally and physically.
