    My Advance was split into two seperate advances which two seperate fees were taken from my bank. I was told it was only for new customers. 2 year customer now and you take the entire advance payment at once.😡😡😡

    It I could give it a negative star I would!! Stay FAR away as cancelling your membership is pretty much impossible!! They lock your account and customer service representatives disconnect your conversation mid sentence and are of no help at all!!! The ABSOLUTE worst company I have ever dealt with. They are SCAMMERS!!!!

    I opened a checking account with Dave today 1/9/26. I needed a cash advance to get my wife and I through the end of the month due to some unexpected bills. You have to link an existing bank account with Dave. They immediately wanted a deposit so I deposited $25 dollars. They want a direct deposit but being new to the app I wouldn't do that based on reviews I read. Anyway I went to the payday loan and I qualified for $25 dollars. I need a payday loan. I imagine if I had deposited $500 they would have lent me $500. Complete waste of time. If I had $500 I wouldn't have needed their services. Totally deceptive service. Don't bother with this app., It's useless.

    I am very upset with Dave. You pay what you owe and they take more from you. When trying to get your back refunded back to you they say you owe it and take money again. I will not recommend this company to anyone. Please refund me my money or I will get a lawyer involved.

    I thought Dave was a good app to get an advance from, I was wrong. I have been using them for quite some time, and they were giving me a decent advance which I always paid back, but I'm writing this review I scheduled to pay back a 600.00 advance on 12/30/25, and I paid it 2 days early, but when I went to take another advance, it was for way less than what they normally give. Customer service comes up with lame excuses on why it's less. The amount they're trying to offer is 345.00 which they give me 270.00 now and the remainder the next day. I'm done.

    Dave is a horrible company to deal with. Customer service is awful. They will charge you for the membership every month and if you want to cancel you have to just through many hoops with no end. Don’t use them. I would give them 0 stars if I could.

    Be careful with this one. They have access to your bank account and ability to charge it at any time, even way before your payday. I tried to stop them- but nothing works, they like rats keep eating out on any available balance that you have. You don't technically pay a fee for 2 weeks of extra cash, like they say, sometimes it's just a day, and they start charging you - for $30 fee? I've used many other similar services, this one is by far the worst - customer service just keep repeating their script, and when you try to talk to supervisor - they never available and never call back.

    In the beginning it was good. I borrowed and paid it back then on the last time I had to pay they blocked my account so I couldn't settle the payment then I took the money out and added it to the Dave card. After I done that they tried taking the money out of my bank account which left me at 0.00 and a pending charge for what was owed. I filed a dispute. This is totally ridiculous.

    These guys are crooks. I just downloaded the app and was charged $3 even though I did not receive any of their services. I am still trying to get my money back and they are fighting me. I had to open a fraud case against them.

    I've been a customer of Dave for years and never have I experienced their deceptive practices first hand until now. On 12/3 I took an advance of $600 out with a settlement date of 12/18 (matching my biweekly pay cycle), but Dave took the money 1 week early. Yesterday 12/9 I reached out to Dave regarding this and escalated the issue. 12/10, they took out more money from my account (leaving me with $4 only) and when I spoke with them, they agreed that my usual settlements occur 2 weeks after my advance dates but still claimed I agreed to a 1 week settlement, which I didn't! They refused to fix this issue in any way and continued to gaslight me about my settlement date. They literally changed my settlement date after our contractual agreement!

    DO NOT USE THIS APP! They will keep you in the hold with no way out and no money left. Straight scam artists. I use them once and I was stuck for months trying to claw out of using them. Their fees stack up so much and they make you take out the $300-$400 in multiple draws so it ends up costing $30-$40 in fees which won’t add up until the end. When I asked for assistance on a payment plan to pay in back in increments after losing my job, they took their money and told me “Not their problem and while they would like to help (which no they don’t), they don’t have a payment plan set up” even though I was told otherwise by another rep. So don’t use this app bottom line. Use ones that’ll work with you and help you. Dave just wants money and he’ll take it from the needy to get it.

    I will leave 2 stars I suppose because I had been using DAVE for about 3ish years and never had any real issues. Once they took the settlement a week early because I had a temporary supplemental income that particular week. I was able to get someone in customer service who was very helpful and easy to communicate with. BUT this week a whole other story! I took out an advance last Friday. My settlement date was to be my next payday which would be 2 weeks after. Well it settled today, out of the blue. I don't know what could have triggered them to think this was a payday. So I connected to the Chat and talked with a "human agent" who simply could not/would not understand my issue. He just kept saying "I have reviewed your account and there are no errors." So frustrating!

    Then later in the day I decided to get back on Chat and UGH, same experience, different guy! He said something along those same lines and how everything was accurate. Both times I was like, "but here is what it's been this entire time, can you explain why and what exactly happened?" And then the app would log me out! I sent an email to ** and got a reply from them asking for verification--get this: full name, DOB, SSN, address, bank card number--- UMMM what? So I replied saying I don't feel comfortable sending all that personal info over email. No replies to that. To top this off, of course, it wants me to take out more cash. And it is saying I am eligible for $700!! What's up with that?! Anyway all this to say, and after reading through all the reviews here, I have closed the account. I guess I somehow just coasted with no problems with them till now, but today I see their true shady colors.

    Dave lies about how they will give you five hundred dollars. The most they ever gave me was $50. Then, they stopped giving me reviews, saying that my check wasn't big enough. They are full of **. And their customer service sucks. And they take three dollars a month, even though they don't give you any more extra cash.

    Horrible company to work with. They are shady and underhanded. They say they won't put your account negative on a a payback but sit and cause you to get nsf charges anyway. When you try to get answers they give you the run around till you're lost then hang up on you.

    I’ve had Dave Bank for a long time. I’m able to borrow 600 when I get paid but at this point it’s always I pay it back then take it back so I'm now locked in for 15$ a pay period. I pay them and take it back out because I need it. So it's a 15$ I pay them at this point every two weeks. I have a savings with dave bank. I usually transfer money to my checking when I need to buy something. I have never had this issue until now and now I'm rethinking this whole dave bank thing and I can't understand why they do this. I’m one to not leave money in my checking. I transfer it all to my savings and when I make a purchase I transfer it to my checking.

    Well it's Black Friday and I'm doing some shopping. I go to check out at the store quickly, get my total, I open the dave app to transfer the money to my checking so I can pay and it says I have reached my withdrawal limit on transfers for my savings account. It wouldn’t allow me to transfer the money to pay. I called dave and they told me I transferred my 3,000 a month limit so now I can’t transfer any more money till next month like 5 days away. I said ok so how do I get my money out can I use a atm I need it now? Savings are not set up to atms, I can only do a external bank transfer and that could take 3-4 business days.

    So here I am with all my money in my savings account and I can’t use it for 3-4 days. I said thats my money I dont owe you money. I should always have access to my money. He said in the terms I signed it says 3000 a month. How is someone supposed to keep track of that. I said you guys can't send a alert or something prior to locking me out. Why does dave do that I wonder? The other issue I have had is when I go out to eat and I use my dave card they hold gratuity. Even if you leave a cash tip dave will still hold it.

    I get a notification that the money has come out like my total bill is 119 but dave takes 135. My notification shows 135, when it’s done pending it goes through for the 119 and settles but I don’t get a notification or proof the rest of that went back into my dave checking account. Did I even really get it back….? I’m starting to think dave is a little more crooked then people think. I have transferred money to pay for something and when I try to pay it gets declined by the cashier and I look in my checking and the money is gone.

    I bought a pizza money came right out for pizza leaving 2$ in my checking. I go to the dollar store total is like 10$ so I transfer 10$ leaving 12 in my account. I go to pay and its declined. I open my app and I see it's gone. I see the transfer notification but the money is gone and nothing in my statement tells me why. It shows my pizza the 10$ transfer but the pizza already came out by the time I left the pizza place so where did my 10$ go. See it’s very hard to say but I'm starting to not like the bank very much. I use this bank daily. But I’m straying to look at other pay early apps.

    As with all the other reviews (which I should have read before signing up for the "service") I couldn't even give Dave one star but I had to because there is no zero Star. I started up an account I was approved for $150, which was transferred to my bank on a Thursday, but I could not access the funds due to my bank always taking a couple business days for it to clear. They then took the money back out on that Sunday, so I never had a chance to access the money and I never used any of it. But they charged me $5 saying that I did use it, and then another $7.50 overdraft charge when they took the money back out - again knowing that I never used any of it.

    I tried to get help from the Chat - and they couldn't do anything and then I called customer service who were equally unable to do anything saying that there is a minimum of 3 business days from Dave depositing the money and then them being able to repaid and we counted ONLY two! They accused me of not reading the terms, but even the chat agent said that the repayment date they initially gave me needed to be changed. And now they won't even close my account until I pay them the $12.50. This is total BS! This is a SCAM! PLEASE DO NOT EVER SIGN UP FOR THIS SERVICE! They will not do right by you.

    Been using Dave with no issues for over a year now, then all of a sudden they took loan payment and decided not to offer a new loan immediately, which left my bank account a mess. Guess you shouldn't count on payday loans.

    The Dave app states in its terms and conditions that it WILL NOT withdraw a repayment if your account will be overdrawn from said action. I was assured that this was the case. Today on October 15 2025 Dave withdrew $81.12 from my bank account which was already overdrawn by around $40.00. This caused me to be over $100 in the negative which would result in overdraft fees from my banker. I reached out to support and was basically told "too bad" and they were not even apologetic about the bind they put me in. The solution they offered me was to go ahead and take ANOTHER extra cash loan from them (with $15 in fees attached) which would then be due on my next payday. The repayment date for that would have me in the exact same scenario as they still have not acknowledged my NEW pay date which is different from what they have on file.

    They will not help me with any of this mess that THEY caused by going against their own stated policy. The customer service agent "Cloe" was very unpleasant and unhelpful. DO NOT USE THIS APP if you expect them to be honest and adhere to THEIR OWN policies. I asked to speak to the legal team and am awaiting contact which will likely never come.

    My bank has been compromised so I can no longer use it. I asked Dave for help to revoke payments but they said no. It is illegal for them to do that. Probably why they have a lawsuit. Don't recommend.

    The customer service is awful. I’ve been stuck on side of the road for going on two days now. They don’t reply to email. My account is locked. I have no Money but on my Dave’s accounts I can’t reach no live agents for help. Bad business

    Terrible customer service. Tried 5 times to settle account. They would not take my money. They will pulled money from account early and make it impossible to settle the rest of the account via your debit card. This is so they can charged fees for overdrafts. If you protest, then they simply hang up on you. This is not a bank.... This is a prepaid card. They are not chartered bank. I recommend Varo Bank as an alternative. They are a non-brick and mortar bank that is chartered and FDIC insured. You can get lines of credit up to $800 and cash advances up to $500.

    Dave stole my refund. It is shown as an adjustment as the refund and another adjustment withdrawing it. Google has shown proof it was refunded. Dave Customer service keeps ending the chat on me with zero answers. I've now contacted the BBB and FTC. They also add fees to their cash advances.

    If I could rate a 0 star I would. Dave app somehow “lost” my income information so they changed my payday and had my settle date be a week before my pay day. They zeroed out my bank account so I have no money to get me through a week before I get paid. When you talk with customer service they will blame it on you and say they can’t do anything about it and they can’t return the money. Scam!!!

    I want to give app zero stars. They took money out of my bank account before my payday. Told them my payday was the 1st. They decided to take it out 3 days earlier. So my account is now negative. No money for gas in my vehicle to get to work. I'm deleting this app, and hope my review steers people away from using it.

    I had three unauthorized withdrawals and they blamed me and kept my money. They then close my account and refuse to answer my calls. They made me wait 10 days while they did their review and they blamed me and refused to refund me my money.

    Me and my wife use Dave's every once in a while. We had up to $500 and they started deducting the money to a amount that's not even helpful to take care of anything so we have gotten really discouraged and don't understand why they did that because they're getting their money on payday because our bank card is is linked to them so they'll get their money regardless. So we might be going somewhere else and leave Dave's alone if they don't get their act together.

    I have been working with DAVESUPPORT since May 2025 and still have not got the money released to me or my daughter. I have gotten at least 7 different support people by email and 3 different case numbers for the same thing. I have sent verification papers and one person told me they received them and another person said they did not receive them. It takes you forever to get a person to talk to on the phone and the last person said she would have a supervisor call me. I am still waiting. Once we get our funds out of them we will never use them again.

    Dave STEALS money. They charge you a “rush” fee or even a standard fee but THEN they charge you $15 for an “Overdraft Fee” on a nonexistent account. They will pass your email from person to person to NOT pay you back. I will never stop though!!

    I have used the app for 2 years. When I change phones I had to reinstall it. Previously they would be there to offer you an advance . Now you have to fight them tooth and nail almost as a customer as soon as you paid the advance off they would be right there offering it to you again. Now even though they say it's available after your paid off it's not. You still have to wait a whole month again before you can receive another one. At least that's what my last six experiences have been.
