I'd like to be a part of a class action on this company. I have tried several times to close my account, but they say they can't close it until the account balance is zero -- but they won't let me transfer the money to close the account. Always saying that they have to review my ID. Ok, so I showed them my ID and they still have not cancelled the account. Stay far, far away.

I’m writing this review because Albert did nothing for me but took money out of my account when it was not time to take it. I’ve been on messaging them for an hour back and forth for refund and they said it take 2-3 days when my bank said all they have to do is cancel the transaction. On their end to go back on my card they debited. I literally had 23 miles to empty on gas and only $13 for gas to get me work until Friday and now I have $3. I’m so frustrated with Albert, wouldn’t recommend to my enemy.

I have had with Albert! It is in anyone best interest not to get Albert or Genius, now I have been trying to close my account my balance is one cent. Note you can not close your account because you can't withdraw that one cent. But yet instill Albert continues to take 19.00 bucks out my bank account every month... Not worth the hassle and I want my money back.

Multiple unauthorized withdrawals from my bank that were absolutely unauthorized. Basically use as license to steal. Very dishonest and too chicken shit to have actual customer support number. Will immediately be reporting to BBB. Very fraudulent service.

My experience with Albert has been extremely frustrating. After following every step they asked — including sending a selfie with my ID — they told me they “could not verify my identity” even though all my information was correct. When I asked for another review or the chance to resubmit documents, they told me there is no option to attempt verification again and that I should just close my account.
Being denied access to your own account without any real explanation or second attempt is unacceptable. Instead of providing solutions, they pushed me toward account closure and gave generic responses with no escalation path, no supervisor review, and no real support. I’m shocked that a financial company can lock you out and refuse to verify you while still holding your balance. This whole experience has shown me that their customer service is rigid, unhelpful, and ultimately unsafe. I wouldn’t trust them with my money again.

I have not had an account with Albert since few years ago and I have not opened up another account and they take out 39 every month for an advancement 30 in 2022. They will not stop. I even got a new account and somehow they started taking money out again this month. On top of it all thru want me to give them statements to prove I did not hey the advance but even if I did I have paid over the amount they say I did.

Most people on here complain they take money randomly as if they are stealing it. If people would take the time to read everything before just signing up to get money quickly then they would know that it says that they will randomly take small amounts to put into a savings account. It is still your money. In order to close the account you need to first empty out the savings. Then you can cancel the account. Never had an issue, and they are always there when I need a loan...

Don’t trust it. It is one of the worst platforms you can get an advance from. You will be charged for multiple transactions. They will upgrade your membership without knowing. They will turn your autosave on without knowing and start taking little money from your account on a daily or weekly basis thinking that little money will go unnoticed.

I’ve told it that it is not authorized to charge my debit card but it continues to do so. I’ve instructed them to cancel my account 3 times yet they refuse and keep charging me. I don’t even have the app in my phone anymore!!! For months!! There should be a class action on it.

I have been paying monthly fees to Albert and asked the rep. to close my account in June. Rep told me I owed $159.99 from 2020 so I paid it and was told my account was closed and they reimbursed me for one month instead of years of fees. Checked back to be sure the account was closed and customer service told me I had to pay an additional $150.00 and needed to settle up before my account would close and monthly fees would continue. The $150.00 was from the savings account and Albert tried to deduct the amount when I paid the $159.99 without my knowledge. Note that I have not ever been contacted by Albert about these past due balances that supposed happened in 2020. This business is shady, misleading and unprofessional with me and other customers who make their business run.

They make you do app promo. and do not reward you in the slightest, they have no direct deposit bonus, and their system steals your card information without offering a cash advance! Stay away from this app!

It’s not the worst app, but it’s definitely not the best. One of the biggest issues I have is how delayed it is with updating information. For example, if I have $500 in my bank account and I transfer $100 into Albert, it doesn’t reflect that change in my bank account for days. The same goes when money is added to my account like my paycheck it doesn’t show up in the app right away. I know that might seem minor, but I’ve used other financial apps that update instantly, and that’s how it should work.
One specific situation that really frustrated me: I transferred $700 into Albert on the 3rd. On my bank side, it looked like the transfer had already gone through, so I thought that money was already out of my account. Then the following week, the $700 was actually taken out, making my account negative because I had already budgeted based on the first update. That really messed things up for me. I just think Albert could do a much better job making transfers and balance updates happen in real time or at least reflect more accurately what’s actually happening with your money.

I had cancel Albert. I gave another shot. It's horrible. They have changed the app, it's so sterile. I feel like an AI. No support if you try and look at your personal info or navigate the app. I immediately get locked in a page of spending more money for different useless services. It is no longer a helpful app to borrow on your paycheck, if you need a little cash before payday. It's just for someone to take our money. I wanted to extend repayment date. Not available on the app. I wanted to chat... not available on app. I wanted to turn off auto-pay. I am not permitted! It's my account, my money, this sounds illegal. And trying to cancel is horrible.

I am writing to formally express my frustration and disappointment with the recent experience I had with your service. I deactivated my Albert account on May 25, primarily due to the excessively high monthly fee for what amounts to a basic savings account and an optional early cash advance feature. However, on the very same day I attempted to cancel, Albert moved funds into my Rainy Day account, effectively preventing me from completing the deactivation process. I was only able to transfer those funds back to my linked bank account two days later, which delayed my ability to fully cancel the service.
As a result of this interference, I was charged again in June, despite the fact that my account was already marked for deactivation. At no point was it clearly communicated that I would still be billed for the following month after initiating cancellation. This lack of transparency is unacceptable. I am extremely dissatisfied with this experience and find it misleading and unethical. I would never recommend this app to anyone and urge your team to review your cancellation and billing practices to avoid misleading future users in the same way.

Albert took my paycheck and deposited it into their account without my authorization. I did not authorize Albert to take my paycheck. I told them to Stop direct deposit now and close this account, customer stop responding to my emails and texts! I'm waiting for my funds to be released into my checking account!!! Poor customer service! I regret getting this loan!!! Helppppppp.

Since NOTHING is being done about Albert account scamming us, I'm convinced it is a gov't scam. If it is someone from the projects they would be in jail by now. This people behind this app are stealing our money from our accounts and with no regret, hesitation or being held accountable. These are NOT criminals in hiding. This is a popular app that floats around social media as well as tv commercials. WHO IS BEHIND ALBERT!!! It suggested I share the app, asked to go to my contacts, normally an app allows you to choose... NOPE.... NOT "ALBERT." It said, "congrats you sent 59 invites." Now 59 of my friends and family will go through this scam!!. And "Albert" actually sounds like a name that only a foreigner will make up. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!! WHO'S SIDE ARE YOU ON!! 🤬

I tried Albert but I been trying to remove Albert from my main banking. At first there was no fees then it got to be 16.99 monthly auto withdrawals to Albert savings even when turned off. I'm just barley getting my Albert account to zero balance and can now close Albert.

Extremely hard to cancel, I followed the instructions saying I had to bring Albert balances to $0 first. After I THOUGHT I did that, I see an NSF from my bank for -$51 from Albert for way more fees than I was trying to avoid in the first place. I couldn't afford the "genius" subscription and I cancelled that. STILL Extremely difficult to cancel Albert and I now have negative dollars. Awful app

Do not use the Albert App. The Albert App is dishonest, not trustworthy once they get your banking information. I cancelled my subscription on the app and emailed them and cancelled again through customer support and they are still debiting my account. They’re trying to do a ACH transaction through my savings account. My banking institution is removing the transaction fees because they see where Albert is doing the transaction out of spite (I saved my emails and I took a screenshot of my cancellation through the App) because I cancelled my subscription. Albert has messed it up for other financial loan apps because they can’t be trusted.

I regret not reading reviews before downloading this app. Every time I encounter a problem and contact customer service, their first solution is to deactivate my account, which really says a lot about the company. Additionally, I’ve been charged extra fees and subscriptions that I never signed up for.

SCUM OF THE EARTH. I had an account that I closed over 3 years ago and enter a new account to withdraw funds and they say that the original account has to be the one that the money gets deposited to all the while they continue to STEAL money out of my other account just fine and the money that's "trapped in the app" can't be accessed. Mind you I have not used the app in over three years and now I'm seeing charges twice in one month.

I tried to get an advance with this app but didn't quite notice they are linked to bank account and saving or what not... So I did not finish the process for the Albert app... Long story short... They had taken 100 at first (I really don't know how it got to that... So I texted them and got AI responses). I said that I need to close this account but they rained responded that I needed to close the account by first depositing 48 into the account (which apparently I had opened) so I did and closed it! It so I thought... When I saw I didn't get my money back I went onto "Pissed Consumer", made a complaint. Within 1 hour I received a response! They told me they were officially closing the account and refunding me... And that they did! With 2 days it was refunded to me. Thank you everyone who collaborate in this task.
