I tried to get information about the app. The only way to do that is to download it. It then ask for a debit card but says you can cancel once in the app. Once I downloaded it I did not agree and finish setting up because I knew it did not sound right. I kept trying to cancel but there is no way to cancel unless you agree and finish setting it up. This morning I wake up to charges withdrawn from my account. I still can’t cancel on the app because it does not log you in since I never agreed and finished setting up and there is no way to contact customer service. They need to be investigated and a class action lawsuit started.

I have used Albert a handful of times in a pinch, and I’ve noticed they continue to take withdrawals from my account at different intervals rather than the date my paycheck is due to deposit. I owed about $18.00 and proceeded to make an ACH payment of $19.00 on March 8th. At this point I had paid back over $100 to them. Not to mention my “membership fee”. At this point they are telling me I still have to wait 5-7 business days but my account has been suspended due to my payment being late. I threatened to file a complaint with the BBB and was told as a “courtesy” I can get a $50.00 advance. But I paid back over $100.00 with my last payment. The reason my account was suspended was due to my payment being late, when I activated the repayment a day before it was due! This company is just a fraud.

Albert used to be a highly reputable company that dealt with modest advances. Over the past year it’s clearly been taken over by scammers. They now trick you into signing up for services to be able to obtain advances. Previously these services were optional. They make it impossible to close out your account with them. They require in the app to provide your personal identification to verify who you are. They make it impossible to provide a clear image of your identification. Of course. That way you can’t cancel and they can keep hitting your bank again. I had to issue a stop payment on all future transactions. My guess..Albert is now overrun with outsourced scammers. Like so many other businesses. Outsourced scammers have a become a malignant parasitic drain in the western economy. They’re a bloody cancer.

Wow! Just wow! So Albert sent me a text saying I have money with them from 2 years ago. So I re-download the app to sign in to see how much. Big mistake! They ONLY allow you to view your account by signing up for a $144 yearly plan, first 30 days free, cancel ANYTIME. So I regretfully signed up to find I had 10 cents with them. So I immediately went to cancel my subscription.

Because I had 10 cents with them, they told me I could not cancel. The app wouldn't allow me to move forward. So they gave me list of my linked banks to transfer the 10 cents to. It lists the amounts already in my personal bank accounts. One was for several hundred dollars more than I actually had. I tried transfer the 10 cents to my bank account with the correct amount in it, and albert wouldn't allow me. I had no choice but to initiate the transfer of 10 cents to the account they said had hundreds of dollars in it. This is their fraud. I have been waiting days to see the transfer in my bank and it's not there. I have texts from management saying they completely closed my accounts, and yet today customer service said I'm still on the hook for 144 Dollars. I alerted my bank of this highly fraudulent company. Stay far, FAR away!

This company is so sketchy that I just had Bank of America issue me an entirely new bank card to stop them from repeatedly charging me. They took an 81 dollar charge from my Bank of America card. I called to find out what it was, after requesting a password reset because I didn't know what they even were. I was told it was for something I agreed to a year ago, and that they have been charging me 8 dollars a month for months for a side membership to some service called "Genius" even though I never activated their card. I was then told that I was not allowed to cancel that 8 dollar side service unless I gave them new banking information to withdraw some 5 dollars they had put into a "rainy day fund" I had never heard of. They are refusing to close the account and "service" unless they give them a new bank account number...why would I give them the new banking info after having the bank issue me a new card because this company scammed me? Sooooo scary. I would rate this a zero if I could. They actually tell you that you are not allowed to cancel unless you give them new banking info.

I agreed to a 30 day free trial. And when I signed up for that I said I would pay $14.99 a month. Today they decided to take $179.88 from my account through an ACH. I never authorized this. I never agreed to an annual payment. It was all the money I had and when I asked them to stop the transfer and return the money they gave me the runaround as you’ve read other reviews about selling investment, emptying the accounts that have money in them, etc., they’re not even showing the money that they stole from me! When I try to do like they say, and cancel the subscription the app won’t let me.

I contact them again. Tell them that the app won’t let me. Tell them that I want my money immediately. Tell them that I want to cancel any and all attachment I have company and I’m still getting the runaround after I send them an email that I carbon copied to my bank and to the FTC, they sent me an email saying welcome to Albert and the 1499 would be due in August. These people are ridiculous. They need to shut these people down. This is premeditated financial victimization. I encourage everybody who they’ve taken advantage of to file a complaint with the FTC. Get your bank involved, and if you were following their consumer agreements, make sure you opt out of arbitration so you can take them to court if necessary. Also get more advice from the LSC about the steps you need to take. TELL ANY AND EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP.!

To some people $179.88 is not a lot but they left me with $17 to live off of. I am off work indefinitely due to a severe case of Covid. I have no income. I live alone and I have nobody to get my medicines or food for me or loan me money, etc., I am in crisis. I have no idea how I’m going to survive. And they have no concern for that. They stopped responding to me and I have the text thread to prove it. I don’t know how they can sleep at night. It’s obvious to me, the fact that you cannot get a live person and they can ignore you says they don’t care. Just return my money that you so easily took. You didn’t have a problem taking it out. What’s the problem with putting it right back? I want my money back. I’m not a person that lets this kind of thing go.

This business is no different than a thief… they randomly withdraw money from your primary checking account and are not sympathetic about the conflicts it causes… I rarely write reviews unless it is absolutely necessary. So here is what happened… My fiancé introduced me to the company and I initiated the application. Due to being apprehensive, I did not complete the application. I am in the law enforcement career field and am hesitant to apply to companies that I am not familiar with. Shortly after INITIATING the process, they withdrew money from my checking account.

Today I had a funeral to attend, and checked my checking account to discover that Albert drained my account. Because I did not complete the application, I of course became concerned. I reached out to the company, with no success. I do not understand how a company can take money from your account, without permission and without completing the application. I attempted to reason with the representative, of course again with no success.

Long story short, I was not able to attend the funeral because of the unsympathetic employees. I was told that they will resolve the issue and was then told that there was nothing they could do. If you research this company on “BBB” (Better Business Bureau), you will see that many other “customers” have the same complaint. This business/customer service is completely unacceptable. I have requested numerous times to obtain their legal team contact information for my attorney… and AGAIN, no success.

I caution anybody to utilize this company. There are many other companies out there who actually have integrity and serve their customers appropriately. If anybody else sees this review and has similar issues, I recommend also posting a review on BBB and exposing this company. As the majority of people state on “Google Reviews,” I would give this company a 0 review… if possible. This company needs to be held accountable for the theft of money from hard-working people. Times are tough nowadays and they truly do not care about their customers…

As you can imagine it’s been an incredibly emotional event as well as time consuming experience dealing with obtaining certain documents to provide the financial institutions to close her accounts and release funds to her sole heir (myself). I have had an easy time with all of her financial institutions closing her accounts and submitting checks for the remaining balances to me, except for Albert. They continue to for a lack of better words “jack” me around with the same response from their “support” team…

‘Hi there, our team is still looking into this, but we’ll reach out once we have an update. We appreciate your patience while we investigate this for you”. I have received this response for approximately 7 months now!!! What is there to “investigate”??!! Only until I told them I’d be contacting my attorney as well as the banks that they are associated with did they respond with a slightly longer explanation from a “manager”. NOT ONE person (if it is a person, AI?) has given a name, not even the “manager”. The most I was told was that a couple accounts were found and they’re “still working on it”.

As you can imagine this experience has been beyond frustrating, exhausting and borderline fraudulent. They won’t submit a current balance of her account(s), or any other statement, they say only after the check is written can they provide that. What?? What financial institution restricts or denies such information?! As I have stated, I have provided ALL legal and notarized documents that are needed when a person passed away, and they have not been compliant. I am now considering a forensic attorney as I am questioning who is handling this on their end and seriously wondering if they have taken advantage of a deceased customer’s account. I got the app to see why it kept popping up in a no credit check loan search so I got it to learn there are so many restrictions keeping you from ever getting the advance. It’s not worth the trouble but then I noticed my savings account had money in it and was growing the app every few days. The app takes % of your linked bank account balance and puts it into savings. I thought, "Hey I like this" but after 2 weeks of getting the app my debit card to linked bank account was cut off and the account was going to be closed the next week because I had been hacked and the local community bank I was with couldn’t keep them out my account but because my debit card was no longer active I couldn’t move money.

I couldn’t pull the savings out and has been a nightmare to get them to remove the account because once you link your savings to an account you can’t change it ever and because I have a positive balance and can’t move money in the app because the debit card was killed I can just link a new account and card. They have to close my savings and mail me a check after I send them a pic of my ID and a pic of me holding my ID and verify my address but guess what because they won’t delete the closed account I can’t get in the app to verify my address and other reviews it’s not looking good that I will ever see the $97 they pulled from my bank account in a week and put into my savings.

All this trouble over $97 when all that has to happen is remove the closed account and let me link my new account and debit card to the app so simple so easy but they have to do it the long and hard way. I’m keeping it to see if I get my $97 back if I do I’m closing it and moving on because I will never meet requirements for the advance and it’s a payday advance anyway and that’s just money coming out of your next payday that will keep you short on money and you in their pocket just not worth the trouble. Hope this saves someone the trouble.
