What is Albert?

Albert is a financial services app that aims to help Americans achieve financial stability. The company is not a bank; its banking services are provided by Sutton Bank, which is FDIC-insured.

Albert offers simple services to make improving your finances feel less daunting. With options to save or invest automatically and an analysis of your financial habits, Albert streamlines the process of understanding your finances and building your wealth.

How does Albert work?

Albert is a mobile app available for both Apple and Android devices. There are no physical locations or accessibility options without using the app. Once you download the app, Albert asks you about yourself. This is so the app can better understand your individual financial situation.

Once that’s done, you’ll be guided to connect your financial accounts. This is when the Albert algorithm starts to work. It analyzes your income, spending and budget, finding ways to save you money and improve your overall financial wellness. The algorithm helps you spot issues such as unwanted fees, bill hikes and more.

For a small fee, you can also choose to take advantage of the Genius service. Genius allows you to ask any financial question at any time and get honest advice from a financial expert. This service is available day or night, so you can ask your question whenever it hits you.

Albert services

Albert offers a number of financial services. Whether you’re looking for banking, savings, investing or other services, Albert can help. Services the company offers include:

  • Saving: The app analyzes your income and spending to help find ways to save you money. You can set it to automatically deposit into your account or choose your own schedule. You will receive an annual cash bonus on your savings.
  • Investing: Buy individual stocks or choose company themes, like female leadership or sustainability. Genius creates a custom portfolio for you. You can set it to invest automatically on a regular schedule
  • Genius: This is Albert’s only paid service. A team of experts is available to you 24/7 to provide honest financial advice and answer all your money questions. You pay the amount you think is fair.

Albert fees

If I could give 0 stars I would but unfortunately I can't. I literally just had opened the account and set everything up. Out of nowhere they text me telling me that my account was suspended indefinitely but due to security reasons, they can't tell me the reason why! And no way to appeal their decision.

AFTER NOT USING ALBERT FOR MONTHS THEY RANDOMLY PULLED 324 DOLLARS FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT AND CLEANED ME OUT. IT'S A SCAM. Today I had to speak with my bank because Albert attempted to take more money and sent a text asking me to relink my bank account.

If I could I would give them no stars. Horrible company. I cancelled my account a month ago but they are still charging me and when I tried to get it cancelled again… they are giving me the run around. I had to sign a paper at my bank to stop them from taking my money. What a joke!

Do not use the Albert App. The Albert App is dishonest, not trustworthy once they get your banking information. I cancelled my subscription on the app and emailed them and cancelled again through customer support and they are still debiting my account. They’re trying to do a ACH transaction through my savings account. My banking institution is removing the transaction fees because they see where Albert is doing the transaction out of spite (I saved my emails and I took a screenshot of my cancellation through the App) because I cancelled my subscription. Albert has messed it up for other financial loan apps because they can’t be trusted.

I have been trying to cancel this app for months. They keep charging me on my bank account so it seems like the only way to stop it is if I change my whole banking account which is so freaking frustrating, I really think they should be reported and sued.

I regret not reading reviews before downloading this app. Every time I encounter a problem and contact customer service, their first solution is to deactivate my account, which really says a lot about the company. Additionally, I’ve been charged extra fees and subscriptions that I never signed up for.

Company is a scam and will take money from your bank account (even without signing up for a subscription). The CEO should pray to God for his is a thief. You should never even download the app. You will lose money.

SCUM OF THE EARTH. I had an account that I closed over 3 years ago and enter a new account to withdraw funds and they say that the original account has to be the one that the money gets deposited to all the while they continue to STEAL money out of my other account just fine and the money that's "trapped in the app" can't be accessed. Mind you I have not used the app in over three years and now I'm seeing charges twice in one month.

I tried to get an advance with this app but didn't quite notice they are linked to bank account and saving or what not... So I did not finish the process for the Albert app... Long story short... They had taken 100 at first (I really don't know how it got to that... So I texted them and got AI responses). I said that I need to close this account but they rained responded that I needed to close the account by first depositing 48 into the account (which apparently I had opened) so I did and closed it! It so I thought... When I saw I didn't get my money back I went onto "Pissed Consumer", made a complaint. Within 1 hour I received a response! They told me they were officially closing the account and refunding me... And that they did! With 2 days it was refunded to me. Thank you everyone who collaborate in this task.
