BOA transferred my mortgage to Nationstar within the last month. They charged me legal fees and inspection costs without my knowledge for a total of $1800.00, which now I owe them on top of other charges they have stated I owe. I tried to pay them my mortgage and they returned what I sent.

I set up auto payments on Aug. 6th, 2012 after my mortgage was sold to these clowns. Sept. came and they didn't take the payment, so I called them and got not a thing fixed, but a big runaround. Then, only after hours on the phone and faxes, they sent a letter saying it was fixed. The payments would start to come out for Oct. Well, you should guess what happened next. No payment was taken and they wanted to make me pay late fees. I laughed and said I have a confirmation letter stating it was to be done and it was to be fixed. It was not, here it is Nov. and yes, they didn't take the payment out again and they are trying to get me to pay late fees, so I went back to my paperwork and told them it was to be taken out.
Well, some smart 88 there took me out of the computer for auto payments. I was told because I called so many times to fix this. Now I have it in the lawyer's hands and today I've been on the phone for over six hours trying to fix this. All my time and calls plus all the faxes, now I have to pay a lawyer, and my mortgage is up to date. Wow, I think with all the complaints they have, they should put all of us with a real mortgage company. P.S. Also all the calls saying I was late on payments were seven days a week calling starting at 8:09 a.m. on Sunday. Have they lost their minds?

Unfortunately, my mortgage was sold to these clowns. I’m just glad interest rates have dropped enough to make it worth refinancing because I am running as fast as I can from this company. I make split payments but I send them in on my own, and they total a lot more than my monthly payment. Now, they keep charging me late fee and keep sending me notices that I am past due and on the brink of foreclosure. And when I call customer service, they are so incompetent they can’t even look up a payment that posted 5 days before. Done, I’m filing a BBB complaint; I don’t think they should be able to continue charging me a late fee when I’m not late.

We were nervous when our account was first transferred to Nationstar as my husband has worked in the mortgage industry for about 15 years and had heard about Nationstar and had heard bad things. Our online research and personal experience have confirmed our initial fear. Communication has been bad, to say the least, but the action that prompted me to write a negative review was the fact that Nationstar withdrew our payment for December (next month), in addition to this month, without any consent or notification. That's $2,800 more than the agreed amount (or $5,600 total, automatically withdrawn!). This is just plain bad business.
I hope our loan is transferred to another lender (which is how we ended up with Nationstar in the first place). But for all the people on here, I hope this company run out of business or called to task by someone who can do something about these vultures. My husband contacted the lender ten days ago to request the funds be put back as our next payment was not due until January 1, and has still not heard back.

Nationstar Mortgage is my new loan servicer. After reading all these negative reviews and personal experiences others are having with Nationstar, I'm very worried about what will happen with my mortgage. Bank of America just sent me a letter saying they sold my loan to Nationstar. I'm almost 99.9% sure they sold it because I recently applied for a home loan modification through the NACA Program. I'm not currently late on any payments, but my income has been severely reduced due to losing my job of 10 years. I found another job but I'm earning almost half of what I used to make at my previous job. This is B of A's way of not helping out their customers, just cutting the relationship and selling to an out of state bank.

My husband and I are in the market for a house. We found the perfect home, a short sale, and submitted our offer. At the time, Nationstar was not the primary mortgage holder on the house. The original mortgage holder approved the sale price, and we began the waiting game while the secondary mortgage holder reviewed the files. In the meantime, the original mortgage holder was bought out by Nationstar. We were originally told that Nationstar would honor the original approval, but a few weeks later, we found out that the original approval was set to expire and Nationstar refused to extend it. This left us starting all over again after already waiting for bank approval for three months. But since Nationstar had recently acquired thousands of loans, we were patient. This was over three months ago.
About a month or so after they started the approval process over again, Nationstar came back to us and said, "We won't pay closing costs unless you use us as your mortgage lender." Because we're first time home buyers, we didn't really have a lot of options. So, despite our concerns about entering into a long-term financial relationship with a company that had not exactly impressed us, we agreed. A month later, we were told that Nationstar would not accept our original offer and wanted another $2,000. Again, short on options, we agreed to the increased purchase price. At this point, we, our agent, and the seller's agent all believed that we were mere days away from having a binding agreement. We were just waiting on the bank to approve the closing date. But then we were told that Nationstar had decided to reevaluate our file again.
After dealing with this bank for nearly six months, I cannot believe that they are still in business. No one knows what anyone else is doing. No one can give a straight answer. Every employee contradicts every other employee. The bank has used shady practices to essentially blackmail home buyers into using Nationstar as a mortgage provider and Nationstar clearly isn't interested in unloading their underwater mortgages. Beware of any short sale held by Nationstar. Everyone knows that short sales take forever, but no one I've spoken to in the real estate industry has ever seen a short sale as ridiculously prolonged as this one.

I paid off my mortgage in August. It is now mid-November. I have been trying to get an official lien release or mortgage release for months. It's impossible to speak with someone who knows anything about this. The automated system, when I call, tells me when my next payment is due even though the mortgage is paid off. This is not a bank. It's a bunch of incompetent entrepreneurs trying to make a buck from you. Beware! I hope someone can afford to pay a lawyer to blow their cover.

NationStar Mortgage is by far the most incompetent company I have ever come across. Despite hundreds of calls, I have yet to come across someone who knows what's going on and cares to help. It all started out with a modification request at the beginning of 2012. That's right, January 2012. After months of calling in & being put on hold, then dropped, transferred to wrong departments, and generally getting the runaround, I was told that the application was denied.
After attempting to provide additional details and resubmitting the request, I was again denied. 8 months later... At this point I was tired of trying and ready to give up. That's when the real fun began...
Now for those of you that don't know, a request for modification comes with an escrow impound. That would have been all fine and dandy except the modification was denied. Instead of waiting to see if the modification was going to be approved, they paid my taxes & insurance. This amounted to a sizable escrow balance. Fortunately, both my taxes & insurance were current. Both tax & insurance were returned to NationStar leaving me with a positive escrow balance.
Now 3 months have gone by and they still will not accept my monthly mortgage payment without the additional escrow payment even though it has got a positive balance. I speak with them weekly and they assure me that my loan is not in default and that I just have to wait until they do an escrow review to make the change and start accepting my payments. I am now getting certified mail stating that I'm in default. Each week, I speak with someone who tells me something different. The last response was "Check back next week."
I would gladly pay another mortgage company a higher rate to take my always on time, never been late (until now) for the past 8 years payments. This is the worst company ever!

The people you talk to are very rude, don't know their job, are incompetent, and never return your e-mails, or phone calls like they say they will do. We have had such horrible service with Nationstar, we are going to go with another lender. They lose papers you fax in, make you fax them several more times of the same document, and you hardly ever get the same person you want to talk to about your history with them. They are the rudest people I have ever dealt with, including, but not limiting to, hanging up on me when I have told them it was like their 8th call for the day! Horrible and rude company! Stay away from these people, and spread the word to others. I cannot afford an attorney, but I would love to see someone who can, to bring charges against these people.

I have been dealing with this company for three months now in trying to resolve an escrow issue. I am one of the households that were affected by the changing of flood zone change. The company proceeded to inform me that I would need to pay a year's past of flood insurance because I am now in a flood zone. I then had to fight to prove that prior to May of 2012, I did not need flood insurance. Finally, after two months and 12 calls later, they did state I was correct but I would need to pay from the date it was changed; not the date I was notified. The date they put me at was May 20th. I was not even notified until the end of June! I called again and asked how this is fair and they proceeded to inform me that they have every right to do so!
I then told them they can only charge me for the two months because I have flood insurance now so they need to adjust the bill, and still have not done so. I called back and then was told they would call me back by Wednesday. Once again, no one has called back! They are rude, do not call back, and have lost faxes that are 32 pages long! I have been told they would take care of it and then never have! This is a horrible company and needs to be shut down! Do not use them!

In September we made application to re-mortgage our home. When they ran a credit check, it revealed a 30-day late payment in July 2011. We have never been late making payments to our mortgage lender. Nationstar requested I send them a credit reporting dispute request, which was faxed to them on September 25, 2012. Almost immediately we began getting phone calls and mailings from them to refinance through them. After no response, I called them on October 9 to be told the credit reporting was "resolved by letter" and a letter was sent on October 2. We never received it, so Cici (the rep) ordered a second letter be mailed. On November 9, still no letter in hand, I called and talked to Jarrod, a customer service manager. I asked him to email the letter to me, and I provided him with 2 verified email addresses. He told me he was sending it "right away as we speak". Well, here it is 2 hours later, and I still have no letter in my email, or my wife's for that matter, and the "resolved by letter" credit issue is still on my credit. I'm no IT wiz, but email with an attachment doesn't take 2 hours to travel electronically.

We fell behind in our payments when my husband was injured and had no insurance or benefits to fall back on. We tried to work a modification with First Horizon, who is just one the many scam companies used by Nationstar. They told us we had to be delinquent on our payments in foreclosure before they would consider our request (lie #1!). After dealing with these idiots for 6 months, I was put in contact with a mortgage foreclosure specialist, who never returned calls or e-mails. I faxed them over 65 pages of documents, which they claim they never received. Then I was notified by Nationstar that they now had our loan. They told me to send everything in again and they would look at it. That was 9/2011.
After hearing nothing for two months, I contacted them and they claimed they were waiting for the title report two months. The next month, the excuse was waiting for flood reports, which did not affect our property. Then after six more months of waiting weekly to see if they were selling our home, that person disappeared and another guy became our account specialist. This happened three or four times and the last one sent me an e-mail after we received a letter that our request for modification was incomplete. On 10/16/2012, he emailed me a new list to start all over again, tax returns, income verification, the whole package.
He then called me back and said he had the sale postponed until Nov. 30, 2012 and to send all the docs as soon as I could get them together all at once. Move to 10/31/2012, and our property was sold back to some other shell mortgage company with the same address as Nationstar. We now have an attorney trying to figure out if we have to move or what can be done. No notice, monthly payment voucher was sent as usual, just like nothing was going on. Of course, no one will return any calls, faxes or e-mails.

Reading everyone's reviews today opens my eyes to the fact that I am not alone. I have never experienced a company so awful in my entire life, and I worked in real estate and mortgage for nearly 10 years! I became an unfortunate customer of Nationstar mortgage in 2010 when my account was transferred in the middle of applying for the Making Home Affordable Modification program with CitiMortgage. Nationstar was good at first and was helping me get the necessary paperwork together to get things rolling, so that I could keep my home after being laid off in 2009 from the mortgage industry. For the next year, I was countlessly having to send in documents, income statements, bank statements, duplicates of all those documents I had already sent and had proof that I had sent, sending in additional items (including all listed above for a 3rd time) that Nationstar Mortgage wouldn't even tell me they needed unless I called for an update on the loan modification (which I was doing daily to weekly) and receiving foreclosure notices while applying for a program.
The foreclosure notices were the last straw. Per the guidelines of the MHA program, a mortgage company cannot file for foreclosure unless a borrower has been denied the program. The foreclosure process is delayed while the application is being processed. I had not been denied, notified I was being denied, or notified I was not providing necessary documents, but yet the foreclosure notices started. I was made aware of the foreclosure of my home being filed by Nationstar Mortgage to my county of residence when a real estate agent contacted me asking me if I wanted to try to short sale the home instead of being foreclosed on when the house went to auction in 3 months.
I was shocked, panicked, and angry. I was also in fear I was going to end up in the street. Daily, I would return home from work and school, looking to see if the eviction notice would be on the door. Luckily, due to the Rule 20 law in Colorado, I was able to plead my case in court, and the judge agreed with me. The fact that the company gave no notice of foreclosure to me or any explanation as to why my home was being foreclosed on or if my MHA application had been denied or not was enough of a red flag for the judge in my county to agree the mortgage company had some major explaining to do. My foreclosure was delayed, and Nationstar Mortgage was going to have to explain to the judge why the house was put on foreclosure during a pending Making Home Affordable, without any notice to me or attempt to communicate with me about any issues with the application even though they have all my correct contact information. Surprisingly (or not), one week before the 2nd court date, I received my final paperwork for the modification and I have been paying my new mortgage payment for the last year. My assumption was that Nationstar realized their mistakes (major mistakes) and needed to correct the problem quickly.
Since first becoming stuck with Nationstar Mortgage, I have received a total of 4 mortgage statements regarding my loan. That is over a term of 2 years. 4 statements in 2 years! The most recent statement randomly started coming to my home in Sept. 2012, the first with a total due of $2,303.04 for 2 mortgage payments and legal fees in the amount of $789.48. My mortgage payment is $756.78. As I had to apply for a modification of my original loan as I couldn't afford the old payment, how Nationstar Mortgage thinks I can suddenly come up with an additional month of income is beyond me. And the legal fees that I am suddenly being charged have absolutely no explanation at all as to what they are for.
Per the modification agreement, legal fees incurred during the modification process are added to the principal balance of the loan at time of modification and are not charged separately to the borrower. I have attempted to call twice regarding getting an explanation regarding these fees, but I cannot actually talk to anyone, as so far, there is no option to talking with a representative. As I have not had any issues paying my mortgage since starting the new modification payment, and I have been sending my payments via money gram express to guarantee they get the money, so legal fees should not be an issue. And I haven't spoken with any attorneys or had any issues with my loan since the approval. What the legal fees are for is still a mystery to me.
I am now in fear, and rightly so due to the past history I have had with this company, that they will start sending notices regarding delinquent amounts (that are not delinquent, by the way) due to these unknown legal fees. I have absolutely no idea where these legal fees are coming from or why they are being charged to me as my loan has been modified for almost a year and I have never heard a thing from this company, including any mortgage statements showing principal balance, escrow account information, and payments received information until Sept. 2012. I have actually been hospitalized due to the anxiety that has built up with my modification for my home as well as other financial difficulties I have been facing over the last years when this started, and the fear is real.
Nationstar Mortgage has been trying everything they can to take my home since day one. I believe they think that if they bully, beat, and threaten their customers enough, those customers will give up and walk away from the home as the stress is not worth it, especially since I have mortgage insurance on my loan insured originally through a private insurance company and now through the federal government. That insurance policy is a guarantee to my mortgage company to ensure that the mortgage company servicing the loan (taking my payments) will get the entire sum of the loan returned to them if the loan goes into foreclosure and the home is sold at auction. Basically, Nationstar Mortgage is hoping they can put in the claims for the mortgage insurance so they can get their money back. That is why my fear is real, as they have wanted my home since day one; otherwise, why purchase an already delinquent loan from another mortgage company that is struggling like Aurora, BofA, Citi, and the like?
Anyone who is having a problem with Nationstar Mortgage should file a complaint with the state department that handles mortgage law in the state the property is located in, as well as the Texas regulatory agency that licensed this company as that is where this company is based, and the federal government as this is a nationwide problem based on the locations of these fellow borrowers that are having issues. That is what I am doing today, because I will not allow this company to bully me into charges, foreclosure issues, or any other "problems" that this company claims against any of its borrowers. Good luck all Nationstar Mortgage victims.

In October of 2011, we had windstorm damage to our home. In March of 2012, the insurance company sent us our settlement, which we discovered had to be sent to the Nationstar Loss Draft center in order for them to monitor the disbursement of our funds to our contractors. From the very beginning, we were given incorrect information. And several times, we had to redo the paperwork for the next step. We were never told when there was a problem; we would discover the mistake when we called to ask about the progress. Finally, in June of 2012, we had all the proper approvals and were able to have our contractors do their job.
The final inspection was on July 2, 2012, and all work was certified as completed and up to local standards. Three weeks later, with our contractors wanting to be paid and no word of any money coming in, we called, only to find out the inspection report had been "misplaced". After three more weeks, our contractors were finally paid and we were told that the excess money in our account would be sent to us. On September 5, 2012, we received a check from Nationstar supposedly for the balance in our account. Upon comparing that check with the money received from our insurance company and the amount paid out to contractors on our behalf, we discovered we were missing nearly $700. It is now November 8, 2012. And the Loss Draft department, despite several phone calls and a letter from us, has not been able to figure out where that money went to (although everyone we spoke to had agreed it certainly was not us) and sends us a check to complete the reimbursement of our money.

They say my mortgage was included in a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, but I reaffirmed with Bank of America and they bought the loan a year after the bankruptcy. They refuse to report to the credit bureaus that I have been paying on time and in full for four years. I have been fighting with them for at least two years about this.
They claim that I do not have a loan, but I am paying on my loan; if I stop, they will foreclose. It makes no sense and I am only waiting for the other predatory shoe to drop. I have also received fees for Property Inspections, yet I have never defaulted, even while in bankruptcy. Whenever I try to call them, they transfer me a bunch of times and then eventually just hang up before I ever speak to anyone. This has been a nightmare and someone needs to get this company in check. They are predatory, deceitful and incompetent. As borrowers, we are held to a standard of paying on time. Too bad I can't select negative stars! Nationstar is the worst company I've ever had to deal with. My mortgage was sold to them in early 2012. Shortly thereafter, I filled out the paperwork to apply for a loan modification through the HAMP/HARP programs. I've tried many times to talk to someone, but I cannot get through their automated phone system black hole. When someone from the company calls me, they just leave their first name together with an 800 number. The number puts me in their black hole with no way to reach the person who called me. I've sent many documents to them, some three times, and they repeatedly claim they don't have them, even when sent certified mail. I've given up with them and started the process to refinance through another lender. I would recommend that this company be avoided if at all possible. Sadly, it looks like many lenders are selling loans to them and the borrower has no say in the matter.

My mortgage too was transferred from Aurora to Nationstar a few months ago. I never had an issue with Aurora for all of the years they serviced my loan. Much like what has been indicated by other folks here, no statement or coupon was mailed to me as promised in the initial letter from Aurora. Since I use Quicken, it was obvious that I needed to pay that month's mortgage payment, so I hand wrote a check and paid the loan without a coupon. I called Nationstar and asked why I didn't get a statement or coupon and they simply stated that a glitch in the system caused my account to be e-billed over email. I stated that I never elected electronic docs and I would like to get paper copies mailed. They said they would change it in their system back to paper - still haven't seen a coupon in 2 months.
I can't help but wonder if this was a tactic by them to get folks who relied on coupons to default due to late payment - then they would have them by the “you know what” for the rest of the loan. So, today, I got an envelope from Nationstar thinking it was the coupon, but guess what!? It was an NSF letter stating my check bounced due to my account being closed! What?! That account has been open for 17 years and I never had an NSF or closed my account. By the way, a $20 NSF fee will be charged to my next bill the letter stated. I, of course, called Wells Fargo, who confirmed that my account was never closed, I had more than enough funds to cover the mortgage payment - and, guess what? They never saw my check being submitted to the bank. I called Nationstar and got shuffled around, on hold several times and finally reached someone who claimed to be a supervisor.
She looked into the payment (after being on hold once again) and stated, "No, it wasn't returned/reversed due to the account being closed, but coded for Stop Payment of the check." So, the story changed from Account Closed to Stop Payment. The rep agreed to 3-way Wells Fargo for verification. The bank indeed confirmed that no stop payment was requested and reiterated that the check number in question was never presented to the bank in any form. However, the same amount check (for last month's payment) was submitted and paid. So, there's no issue with the checks or account. I'm very suspicious that Nationstar is "coding" my payment to soil my account status and perhaps force me to re-make payment via their online system. I made my payment on 10/20, well ahead of the 11/01 due date. I wonder if I had made my payment during the grace period (let's say 11/14), if they would simply "code" my payment/check as "Account Closed" or "Stop payment".
Oh, and now my mortgage is in default because I didn't pay on time by the time a letter would go out. Perhaps they would start foreclosure proceedings? I've never ever been late with my mortgage payment and have a 800+ FICO score. I'm upside down on my home, so I can't refinance - otherwise I would, in a heartbeat, if only to get rid of Nationstar. Everyone, please stay vigilant with this servicer, they will scam you and call it a glitch, but hold you accountable for late fees. You've got to protect yourself by babysitting this account and double-check that your payments are clearing - pay early so you have time to react. These people are crooks and based upon other complaints, I don't think I can give them the benefit of the doubt since these just seem like creative tactics to get a fee out of you or, worse, start a foreclosure!

I was just getting ready to sell the property for more money than I owed them and was working with secondary lender who would have happily received a great portion of their investment. I was set to get nothing out of the deal besides relief and letting go of the past so I could move on. I went to court where the judge said, "They can't do that; you need an attorney." I want criminal charges filed. Then if I want to sue, that should be my privilege, not obligation. Sue a multi-billion dollar corporation with 1000 lawyers on retainer and then try and collect. Even if you win, they will get it overturned by some corrupt judge.

This is possibly the worst mortgage company I have ever used in 40 years. They have a consistent history of changing your due date or amount without letting you know and at the end of the year, they’ll be sending you a late date for fee assessment. I pay online by bank and pay at a certain date and amount. I am never late, yet I continue to get late fees. What is worse is the communication with the company. They just shuffle you off to Buffalo. Never use them again. I will cancel my mortgage as soon as possible.

Last week, after a long wait, we were finally told that the bank has officially given us the clear to schedule our closing. This is my and my fiance's first home so needless to say, we were clueless on what the whole process was like. On Friday October 19th, we scheduled the closing for today, Thursday October 25th, at 9:30am. Our lawyer advised us that the bank would not know the final numbers until the day before the closing. So, we waited patiently yesterday for the papers to be delivered to our lawyer. In the meantime, I prepaid the HO insurance and flood insurance sending all the declarations so we were good to go.
The bank advised our lawyer that the papers were going to be sent no later than October 23rd and here we are, the night before the closing with no information. I received a call from our lawyer at around 7pm last night saying that the bank had calculated the property taxes incorrectly and that the paperwork would not be delivered by the morning of the scheduled closing. The underwriter had to recalculate everything and now our payment will be $200 more each month!
I asked how something like that could happen being that we submitted everything in our possession and all types of information regarding the home. We had been told that the closing had to be postponed to this afternoon around 3pm. I asked my lawyer if in fact it was going to happen today and she reassured me that it was, and that sometimes a glitch in the whole process can happen but that in almost all cases, it is taken care of on time.
I couldn't sleep all night with the thought of closing today and not knowing what we were supposed to pay or let alone if the papers were going to be sent to our lawyer. Here we are October 25th - it is now after the scheduled postponement and the closing is still not going to happen today. That's right, they still do not have the corrected paperwork done! We have now lost an entire day of work and an entire day of stress and aggravation. We are not closing today and we have not heard anything from our lawyer which could only mean more bad news.
As I write this review, all I can think of is how much I wish we didn't have to deal with a company like this and how much a life changing happy time in our lives has become a complete and total nightmare. I cannot believe how unprofessional they have been throughout this whole process. I can only imagine what will happen when we eventually sign the papers, if we ever sign the papers. I wish I could give them a negative score because that it exactly what this company deserves. We are devastated to say the least.

My wife and I originally had a mortgage through GMAC and never had any problems with them. The mortgage was sold to Nationstar and from the outset, I could tell that we would inevitably have problems. 3 years in, we got behind on our mortgage owing them 2 months' worth of payments. Nationstar filed a civil action against us claiming in court documents that they had not been paid for 6 months! We went to court and produced our receipts showing the dates and time that they were paid. The judge denied all of their motions and ordered us to pay them the 2 months. We paid. Now this year, a similar incident happened. No amount of calling them will help you. They are experts at stalling. They immediately referred our file to their attorneys in Atlanta. They stalled any potential remedy that the government has in place to avoid foreclosure.
We walked from the property and are now renters. If you get any paperwork from this corporation, run away! If you have a mortgage through them, it is only a matter of time until they will rob you of your sleep!

I refinanced more than 3 years ago and my mortgage was sold to Nationstar. I have dealt with several mortgage companies over the past 15 years. I have never had issues with any of the other companies, until now! I was forced into escrow due to delinquent taxes (of which I had payment arrangements with local tax offices). I received 2 letters from Nationstar requiring payment in full within 30 days for both county and city taxes. I contacted Nationstar to attempt to work with them, but they were adamant on the 30-day period. I could not pay taxes in full on their time period, but did provide proof of payments made. I finally told them, "Do what you have to, but this is all I can do."
2 months later, my mortgage payment increased by $200.00. I can continue to remit my original mortgage payment amount; however, their system considers me as delinquent because it is not the full amount due. I contacted Nationstar to get help (a joke). I was transferred between 4 different departments and spoke to no less than 6 people. Everyone I spoke to told me something different, conflicting information and within the same department. I did a verbal application for a loan mod. He told me I didn't qualify but was sending me the information packet. I never received it. I have offered to remit prepayment escrow for taxes in full, in an effort to reduce back to my original mortgage payment.
I have brought the account to current and requested a waiver to request the forced escrow to be removed. I was told it would not be approved. I have attempted to refinance back through Nationstar, but can't because of the 30-day delinquent they imposed. I was able to bring my account current (no longer delinquent) and have requested that the delinquency be removed from my credit report but they can't (won't) do that either. My delinquent taxes totaled $400.00. The thought of losing my house over $400.00 is very devastating. I can't refinance due to the 30-day delinquency on my credit record, which brought my credit score down. I can't afford to remit the increased mortgage payment and no one cares that I have attempted to resolve this and isn't willing to work with me.
They have me in a corner and I may lose my house. Whether my house is sold for taxes or foreclosed on, either way I'm still losing my house. I have had the same runaround as most others. Each person and department I've spoken to keeps putting me off to someone else. I will refinance asap and run far away from this company. Yes, I will file a complaint with BBB (which Nationstar is currently under review with the BBB). I am willing to be part of a class action suit. I've done some homework on this company the past few days and discovered a multitude of people on various forums with the same complaints as here. I thought the point of the Making Home Affordable programs was to help families keep their homes, not to force into foreclosure/bankruptcy and homelessness. People are losing their homes to this company and it has to be stopped!

It is clear that Nationstar is pulling this same dirty trick on everyone. They have rejected my payment, stalled, long phone holds, hang ups, doubted my word, insulted and disrespected me, accused me of not having sufficient funds in my Bill Pay account, lying about sending the funds, all of it. I finally had to give them my bank account number, which I did not trust them with, and have now given it twice while they still have not taken the funds to pay my mortgage payment, which is now late. Read below for same tactics. This will not be pretty. Big trouble.

I always paid my mortgage on time. In May, I received a statement that I owe two months payments, so I researched my payment with my bank to see what happened and they stated it was cashed by Nationstar Mtg. I disregarded it thinking it was a clerical error and mailed my May payment as normal. I thought everything was fine until I got my June statement and it stated my account was still arrears, so I contacted them and told them that I did mail my April payment and that I got proof that they were the ones who cashed it in April. They asked for a copy, so I faxed it over to them that same day. I then paid my June payment as normal, thinking that the April payment would be resolved.
I then got a July statement that now states not only did I not make a payment in April, but I also did not make a June payment. So, I called again and complained why the April payment wasn't resolved yet and why they were stating that I didn't pay for June. They asked me to send proof that I made both payments and who cashed them. I sent April's again along with the proof for June. Again thinking that everything would be resolved, I only mailed the July payment. Then in August, I received a statement now stating not only was I delinquent for April and June payments, but now I am delinquent for July's payment.
I checked with my bank for the third time and they stated that all three payments were cashed by Nationstar Mortgage. So, I called again stating my concern that nothing was being resolved and now I have three payments nowhere to be found. At this point, I was very angry wondering where the heck is all my money going. And on top of all that, I got a letter from a lawyer stating that my house is going up for foreclosure by the end of August. Great. I told Nationstar that they need to find my money asap because I did not want to lose my house for their mistakes. I was assured that would not happen and that everything would be looked into once I sent proof again. So, I sent proof from my bank again.
I sent the August payment thinking they would do what they said and locate my payments and get them credited to my account and bringing it current. And lo and behold, I got a letter from Nationstar about mid-August and I was glad to see it thinking it's an explanation of what happened and that my account had been credited for the "missing payments." But to my surprise, it was my payment for August that they refused to accept because the account was still in arrears due to the missing payments, which weren't even mentioned in the letter. So, I called them once again and I was beyond furious. I told them I had sent the proof that they have cashed all my payments and asked what was taking so long for them to correct these mistakes. I was told they never received any of my faxes when I knew it was bs because every time I faxed the papers over, I got a confirmation that they were sent and received.
I faxed all my copies over again, but this time I also sent the proof that they received all my other faxes. So while I was waiting for everything to get corrected, I got a letter from a lawyer stating that my house was now up for foreclosure. I called Nationstar immediately and I asked why my house was for foreclosure when I was assured this would not happen. I asked to be transferred to a manager and when I spoke with him, he apologized and asked me to send all my proof once again, but to send it to him directly and he would get everything resolved in one week and he would call me.
So, I sent him everything that I faxed before. Two weeks passed and I never received a call, so I had my husband call him asking what was going on and wasn't anything being resolved and he said he didn't get a chance to look at it, but to give him another week and he would research it. We waited for a week and a half and again we never received a phone call. During this time we kept receiving foreclosure letters and notices. I called him back and asked what was going on and again he didn't get a chance to look at it. So, I asked to speak to his supervisor. I spoke to his super and he had me fax everything again to him this time and I did. I finally received a phone call on October 11th stating that they located my payments and that my account was short on an escrow payment. Escrow was taking my payments and cashing them, but now everything was corrected and I needed to mail in a payment today in certified funds for $2200.
I was so happy to finally get everything corrected that I didn't realize that they were asking for four months' payments when I only should have owed for three months because they returned my August payment and I still owed September and October payments. So when I realized this, they looked at my account again and stated, "Sorry for the mistake, you need to make a payment for $1964 for Aug-Oct payments and the money that was short on escrow," and that they wanted it through Western Union now, instead of certified funds. I told them I'm not paying them through Western Union because I was not going to pay an extra fee for their mistake that took them 6 months to resolve.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it in time to the bank to make a cashier's check, so I had to go the next morning. Before I had a chance to make it to the bank that next morning, I received another call from Nationstar stating that there was a mistake and I only owe for the the months that I did not pay yet (Aug-Oct payments) for a total of $1649. I did mail the outstanding $1649 and I hope and pray that my account is current like they stated it would be. But seriously, how the heck can you cash three months payments and not know where it was for six months and when you do finally get it all situated, they gave me three different amounts that I needed to bring my account current. I am going to refinance as soon as I can. I will never bank with Nationstar Mortgage again. They are a bunch of thieves and they thought I would just let them take my house. They were stupid. I would advise anyone and everyone not to go with Nationstar Mortgage. The Better Business Bureau needs to get involved and their company needs to be put out of business asap.

I've had a loan with BOA for several years when my loan was sold to Nationstar last December. Since then, my experiences with Nationstar have been nothing short of overwhelming, alarming and frustrating. By far, they have been the worst mortgage company or lending institution that I have ever worked with. My first experience started with them not crediting payments when the loan was assumed and charging insurance when I owned my own, and not being able to answer a question when asked; with continuous shuffling. The latest, however, was with them wanting to charge me a horrendous amount on escrow that was unnecessary, and they couldn't explain why! I am definitely refinancing!

I would give 0 star if I could. And I wholeheartedly agree with many that reviewed this company. I wish it were different and I give them 5 stars, but then I again, I probably wouldn't write a review. First of all, for anyone that sees this and has experienced the same problems, please email me at **. Here goes a rather long story. Like many, my mortgage loan was bought from B of A by Nationstar Mortgage back at the end of 2011, November to be exact. I made my first payment through bill pay, which mistakenly got sent to B of A. And they will call you with automated phone calls to harass you and such, even when you are not late. Anyhow, I got it situated with B of A, and they forwarded the payment; however, there was a late fee attached. No problem. My mistake for not setting them up correctly on my bill pay.
OK so, on my first monthly statement, I noticed that the amount I owe is double what I was paying monthly with B of A. So, I looked thoroughly at the statement and discovered I was charged an extra $914.14 for something called lender-paid expenses. And under lender-paid expenses, it was listed as property inspections. I had no clue what this was or how it occurred. Since the beginning I have been on time every month with every payment. My credit is good, and I work hard to make a living. So, I called Nationstar, and the customer service reps notified me they were looking into the matter and they will investigate what this was.
I waited a week, and no response back, so I called back looking for answers. This time, I get the manager on the phone, and he says that it is an issue between Nationstar and the previous lender B of A or Countrywide, which got bought out by B of A. He informs me, as a token gesture, that this fee would not affect my credit score and that no late or extra fees would be attached to it as a sort of calming method. I told him I would like the fee taken off my bill. I ask what a property inspection fee is, and he said it is when someone comes to your home to make sure you are living there. It usually happens when you are delinquent. I said, “Sir, no one came to my home,” and “I've never been late,” etc. How in the world could this happen?
I called back a month later and the answer that I got was that my taxes weren't paid for in 2004. I said that it is impossible for taxes not to be paid and I’m still living in the house, as all my taxes, etc., are included in the monthly bill. So many months went by, and nothing was done, and no one ever called me. I finally decided to call back and ask for the $914.14 to be taken off. The lady I spoke to decided she had an answer and that she was going to let me have it and that it is my responsibility for me to pay for it without me even knowing what it was. She gave me some explanation of a lender-paid expense fee with a previous servicer that did not make any sense at all. I asked her to send me something in writing of her explanation.
A day later, I got a letter, and the letter made no sense at all. I showed it to family and friends. They suggested I go talk to someone at my local Chase bank branch to help explain it. I had a meeting set up with a very reputable banking mortgage expert of 20+ years, and she said she'd never seen anything like that. Her suggestion was to contact a local assembly person for them to look into the matter. I never really thought much about that or figured they were the right people to contact, but I did. They were not able to help and basically said that it was out of their jurisdiction to investigate. I know the problem is that a mistake(s) was made by B of A or Countrywide and Nationstar, who acts as a collection agency, buys the loan, and attaches fees that aren't ever justified. It's like me buying something at the store, and 8 years later, the store calling me back up saying I owe certain amount of dollars more for something that no one can clarify or justify. I'm sorry, but it doesn't work that way. It's wrong and it's thievery!
Now, I have a separate problem; I am having a problem. Nationstar isn't including insurance into my monthly mortgage. They claim I now owe premium to the insurer when my lender is supposed take care of this. Wow! Is there not a separate impound account that they are supposed to take taxes and insurance out of? Stay away, far away, from this company if you can. Those of us that don't have a choice, we are the ones that are screwed. Stay strong America! I have a feeling there will be more bad news coming soon from our mortgage meltdown, including Nationstar. It just seems like the whole system needs to be flushed out. There is much corruption with companies like this and the CEO's that run them because they don't have to answer to anyone. It's the system, and there is no checks and balances with these phat cats. They can rob you and get away with it because nothing can stop them. And it is wrong!

On 9/1/21 & 9/21/12, I contacted Nationstar to find out status; they couldn't confirm it was received. I called back on 9/25/12. I was told they didn't have it. On 10/2/12, I called our Rep but didn't get a return call. I called again on 10/4/12 and was told the pkg. was not received and I was asked where I mailed it. I called again on 10/9/12 and they claimed never to have received our pkg. That pkg. contains a great deal of personal information and I relayed my concerns to Nationstar but they put the blame on us just stating we never mailed it and we should contact the post office. They didn't care at all about the loss of our personal data, so we had to do quick action to protect our accounts and work with the credit bureaus to put a security freeze on our SSNs to protect our identities. On 10/15/12, we received a letter from Nationstar claiming we didn't return the documents. The lack of concern by Nationstar and their assumption we lied about returning the pkg. is very insulting. Nationstar should advise customers of the risk of sending personal data and not assume it's the customer's fault nor should they assume they can fax the data.

I have had a loan with BofA for several years, no late payments, no problems, very happy with them. Then suddenly I was notified that the loan was sold to Nationstar. Not knowing anything about them, I just assumed they were about the same. I continued making my payments through online bill pay as I have always done. Then I started getting calls and the only voice mail was incomplete. You couldn't make out what was being said or who was leaving the message. Finally one day I called the number back to find out my account was past due. That can't be, I made a payment several weeks before. I checked my bank and sure enough there is the returned money from them. I called again and was told then that they were having troubles with their system in accepting wire transfers. I was told by them that I could make a payment over the phone that day with additional fee for phone payment. That had me enraged.
I was also told from then on, to avoid this issue, to go to their website or call in to make payment. That was a few months ago. The other day, October 9th, I started getting calls again, this time no message. I don't answer 800 numbers but after several of these calls, I called it back. Once again I was listening to the automated information saying account was past due. I checked my bank account immediately and it was showing the payment went out on the 4th as scheduled. I spoke with someone at the bank and was told they refused payment with excuse of "unable to locate." I called Nationstar and after several prompts, I finally got to speak to a human. During the phone call, I was called a liar and was told they wanted proof, documentation from my bank showing that I had indeed made a payment. They were accusing me of sending to a wrong address, putting in wrong acct. number or maybe even the bank had messed up somehow. Not once did they assume responsibility.
I notified them that they were responsible for people's homes, their largest investment in life for most and in turn their credit score and yet they are careless with the payments. I questioned them on why they can't fix their system. They are in charge of lots of payments monthly yet they can't even get the computer system to work properly. My bank informed me the payment was sent out on the 4th and returned on the 8th. The calls started coming in on the 9th. I am now checking into refinancing with someone else just to get away from these people. It is a scam they are doing and everyone should be aware of their system.

My father is not the type to show his emotions, but today is when I have witnessed something that I could never forget. Once he got off the phone with my uncle begging him if we could stay for a while at his place just until we found a place, he turned to me and hugged me and bawled his eyes out. I began a refinance with Nationstar in February 2012. At the time, I was told that the estimated time to close would be approximately 60 days. The person that was processing my loan at one point left Nationstar's employ and another loan processor was given my loan to process. Months went by and the progress appeared to be stalled on my loan. The loan processor would not return my phone calls or emails, and only after contacting other individuals I had worked with earlier in the application precession would the loan processor get in touch with me. And when he did, he would ask me to resubmit documents that had been misplaced. In October, I reached in a final attempt to proceed with my loan by attempting to contact the loan processor and a manager but did not receive any return call or email. Finally, I contacted another mortgage company despite losing several hundred dollars in fees and service charges. I would not recommend using Nationstar as a mortgage lender.

We were paying on a property that we fell behind a couple of months and was on a repayment plan that divided the late payments in thirds. I was to pay the payment and the third each month for six months. The company did pretty good applying the payments right at first but as the time went on, they were putting the money in a suspense account and not apply to the loan which then dropped the loan into default. Then, they would not accept any more funds except all the money owed (not adding the suspense account) plus outrageous lawyer fees, title searches, and inspection fees. We put the property up for sale in March. We had an offer for $13,000 more than what we owed and an anxious buyer. We tried to close the 30th of July and Nationstar sent the payoff for the other property we had that had been turned to them by First Horizon. We panicked thinking we were going to lose our buyer.
Nationstar wanted to wait 2 to 4 weeks for a new pay off. We were not allowed to talk to anyone in the pay off department. We had the title company doing everything they could to keep the buyers, and the real estate agents got them to hang on for 10 days and after 2 weeks, we got a written payoff balance from Nationstar. We closed the next day but the legal fees were $2,700 more than it had been calculated when we got the first payoff. We didn't have enough in the sale price and so the real estate agents, the buyer and us came up with the difference to close the loan. Then 10 days after the payoff amount had been wired, Nationstar called and wanted another $1000 more than payoff. We said we had a payoff letter and Nationstar said there was a disclosure on payoff and they did some further calculation and we owed more legal fees.
The title company tried to help and called the managers of Nationstar and they said they would write it off and would send a confirmation letter. They said it would take about 10 days for a letter. I got a call about 10 days later from a manager at Nationstar and he said the title company was stepping out of the middle and they were sending the wire transfer money back because we owed $1000 plus new legal fees. I called the title company and they had not heard anything from Nationstar and didn't ever indicate they were out of the middle of this. Nationstar lied to try to get me to send them money. They have the poorest accounting practices and agents of any mortgage company I have ever dealt with. They need to be investigated for fraud on foreclosures and payoffs.

Due to my divorce, my financial situation changed and I got behind with my mortgage payment. My other lender was understanding and as long as I continue to make monthly payment even though it's late. Since my lender transferred my mortgage to Nationstar, I have nothing but headaches. Now, my mortgage includes a monthly lender's fee of $39 for "Property Inspection". I had called to find out and they keep telling me that it is to secure the loan since I have been late with my payments. Can they do this? Instead of helping me out, they will add additional lender's fee each month to my mortgage? I have gotten tired, and with my less than perfect credit, I am left with no choice but to keep paying this extra charge. If not, I will lose my home. Sometimes I feel like I should just walk away since my house is upside down. So frustrating!

BofA sold my 8-year-old mortgage to Nationstar. Autopay was set up automatically in July 2012 (I have a print out confirming autopay indefinitely). On August 8th, their system “rejected'' the payment for unknown reason (they could not tell me why when I called and there was more than enough money in the account the payment was being withdrawn from). On the same day, August 8th, the payment went through. But because their system rejected the payment one hour prior, they turned off autopay - with no notification to me.
September rolls around and I think autopay is set up and all is okay. I receive several 800 number calls with no caller ID and a pre-recorded message that left a partial phone number and no company name or reason for the call (appearing to be a spam message). Looking at my bank account, I realize the mortgage payment to Nationstar has not posted. I called (no human to talk to after-hours or on Saturday) and I have to reset up autopay (through Western Union - what is this, 1984?) and also make the "late" payment for September with a $9.95 fee. I called during business hours. A clueless robot girl named Yesenia cannot help.
They blame the customer for their system’s faults. They are reading from a script repeating over and over, "We apologize for the inconvenience." Inconvenience? It’s more like a scam! They won't reverse the fee and deny any fault for the shut off of autopay after you set it up. I have now been on hold for 20 minutes waiting for a supervisor. I think that Yesenia, the clueless person, has tricked me into holding forever (and it will probably hang up on me anyway). Avoid at all cost.

I have had a mortgage with Nationstar for 4.5 years and am paying an outrageous 6.25% on my loan. I have applied for the Making Home Affordable Modification through Nationstar 3 times within the last year to get my payment to a reasonable amount. Every time, after submitting all required paperwork, they come back and request something additional because "underwriting" needs it. Usually, it is tax documentation, extensive banking history, etc. By the time that they ask me for additional documents, one at a time of course, at some point they end up telling me that it has been more than the allowed time, and my information is now considered outdated and can't be used. In order to be considered, I will need to apply all over again. After three times doing this, I was more than frustrated, and I gave up.
Last week, I lost my job, and so I called in again to ask what to do. I would think that if there was any time to try to work with me to get the payment where I can afford it, it would be now. However, they told me yesterday that unless I have some sort of income, I can't even be considered for a modification. Basically, they wouldn't help me when I had full time income, and now they won't help me when I am unemployed. Basically, this company is not only extremely unhelpful and unkind, but their employees are also very rude and treat me like I am the idiot for asking for help. I will probably end up losing my house because they won't even try to help me. This is ridiculous.

They recorded in their system that they had spoken with me on occasions; they had not. My mortgage has $60k plus in equity. I can only conclude this is a company that is up to no good. Last year (2011), I was laid off my job in November. I totally admit to getting behind on my payments. On May 16, 2012, I was served with foreclosure papers. I called the company and was told that if I paid them $2,025 that I could enter into a repayment plan for six months and my house payments would be current. I was working with an associate named Corbin. He stated that the payments needed to be in by the 30th of the month in order to honor the agreement. I paid the initial payment with certified check and have made my payments for four months. I received dismissal papers from the court and thought all was well. Payments have been made before the end of the month each month. Through this whole process, I have received rude phone calls and letters asking what my intent for the property was to which I always replied I am in a repayment plan. After every letter, I would call into the company and try to talk to Corbin. Only on a few occasions did I get through to him and no call was ever returned when I left messages, and talk with one of the customer service representatives.
On every occasion, I was told to disregard the letters and keep making my payments as I had been doing. I continued to make my payments and on September 10, 2012, I was once again served with new foreclosure papers stating my home would be sold on November 7, 2012. I immediately called Nationstar and talked with a Stephen who informed me that there were no such papers. I was not served. After much arguing with him, I demanded to speak to his manager. This person was Chad. I got the same runaround from him. Angry beyond belief, I gave up and called the lawyer's office serving me with the foreclosure papers. The woman I spoke with could not understand why they had been given our account as we were current with the repayment plan. She tried to call Nationstar but no one spoke with her. She promised to get in touch with someone and call me back ASAP.
The next morning, I received a call from the lawyer's office. Heather stated, and I recorded the conversation with her permission, the foreclosure should not have been filed and she had closed the case. She also stated that all fees incurred should be credited to my account. Two days later, I received dismissal papers from the court. Today, I received a letter stating that I owe them huge fees. I called spoke to a Rhodric and was once again given the runaround and told my loan is in default and all fees were correctly charged to me. I am beyond mad. This company acts with no moral ethics and will say anything to get you in a position to lose your home. I am now going to work with a lawyer to try to make them behave in a legal manner. If you are dealing with this company, keep very detailed records, record conversations if you are able, and believe nothing they tell you.

I am also one of the unfortunate people who had their loan transferred from Aurora to Nationstar. I was in the process of doing a modification with Aurora and my final payment was to be made on July 1, 2012 but my loan had officially been transferred to Nationstar as of June 30, 2012. First thing I noticed is that they never credit me for the last payment I made with Aurora in June. I sent in every single bank statement as far back as February 2012 showing every single payment that had drafted my account and also sent them a payment history print out I had done before the Aurora site went down. They kept telling me wait 30 days for us to receive all the documents from Aurora.
In the meantime, I continued to pay the trial payment amount. Then after speaking to numerous different people at Nationstar who just passed me around, I finally got a guy name Josh who said he will personally help me with this. I called to make my usual payment for September so as you can see this has been dragging on. He told me it is still in review. Then few days later, he called me and said the finalization paper was being sent out via FedEx. Then the next day, he told me he misspoke that the modification with the trial payments that Aurora had enrolled me in was against government law and that is partially why they are out of business.
At this point, the only thing I can do is pay the difference from my original payment amount which was $1,522 from my trial payment of $1,193 that I have been paying since April 2012. He said can you pay $1,975 today. I said no. I don't have that kind of money. He said well we need $1,975 now and 2 payments of $1,522 next month to bring you current. I told him I was in the process of divorce raising my two girls, ages 4 and 5 alone, and in the process of filing Ch7 bankruptcy. My modification was supposed to be completed by now if it was still with Aurora. It would show my account in good standing and I was going to do a reaffirmation to keep my home.
Now, Nationstar has my loan and is making it look like I am $5k behind. I feel like it is hopeless. How can they say they are not going to honor my previous company’s modification plan when I was almost done with it? Does anyone know who I can speak to that will help me get some results? This is the home my girls were born in. It is the only stability they have.

We were notified in June 2012 that our mortgage was being transferred to Nationstar Mortgage from Aurora Loan and we were anxious to start a loan modification process with them since all attempts to complete a home loan modification program with them came back empty; repeated loan apps lost, missing, resent, etc. Now with Nationstar, we are told while our loan modification is in review, there is nothing they can do to suspend our foreclosure process even though their paperwork states that our home cannot be referred to as foreclosed or even sold while it's in review. Now today, we got a notice of sale date posted on our home that our home will be sold on October 12, 2012.
When we contacted Nationstar, we were told there is nothing they can do and they don't even show a notice of intent to sell on our home. How can our current mortgage holder, Nationstar not be made aware of these issues when they are the current mortgage holder? It seems like there is communication missing and how can a loan modification take over 10 weeks and still no answer? I wonder if we will be one of the many homeowners who chose to trust Nationstar and what they have in printed form on their letterhead and hope nothing happens while our loan is still in review.

I also am part of the Aurora sell off. I received notification 13 days before the transfer was to be official, so I started doing research on Nationstar in mid June. Good thing, too. It is as though their entire "play book" is online for everyone to see. From messing with escrow balances to charging erroneous or outright illegal fees, they seem bent on putting distressed homeowners into a worse position. What a lot of people don’t realize is Nationstar is not just a mortgage company, they are also a mortgage servicer, an entity that collects payments on behalf of the note holder. The difference between the two is a servicer has no interest in anything but the amount of money it can make on servicing the loan, whereas a note holder has interest in the home itself. The most important difference, though, is mortgage servicers make money on foreclosures. Do a Google search on that and you will see for yourself. It is because of the research I did that I was prepared for what could happen (late fee for paying after the first, not receiving statements, double dipping in bank account, etc).
The best advice is as follows, please heed. Pay before the first of the month. Paying after puts you in "default" status no matter how much of a grace period there is. Late is late and they are looking for any excuse to put you into foreclosure because they will make more money if they can. Do not use your personal checking account to pay! Keep your financial information out of their hands if you can! Use cashier's check or money order and mail certified/return receipt. This is how I do it: I pay $2 cashier’s check fee at my bank plus about $5 for certified/return receipt. It has worked like a charm, so far. Check your chain of title at your local county records. If there are any gaps, you may have a broken chain of title; you should seek legal assistance if you suspect a broken chain of title! You may have a clouded title. Now, Google broken chain of title, clouded title, RESPA rights, mortgage fraud, and MERS fraud. Research the housing foreclosure crisis. Arm yourself with education. Know your rights. I already have a lawyer queued up and ready to act. It won't be long now.

Nationstar's billing practice warrants feds investigation! Without notice from Aurora (who has mysteriously disappeared - perhaps one and the same? A mortgage scam setup?), Nationstar overtook my mortgage. Now, I live on disability, have $3 more than my mortgage payment, and they claim they had permission via my agreement with Aurora - outright lie. I called Aurora when my check was in the bank to tell them to take the payment. So since July, Nationstar has unlawfully hit my account, at random, five times despite my calls, faxes as they asked, etc. even from my bank manager. This has cost me, with Nationstar's bogus charges and my bank's, at least $660 and made me late for the first time in ages. I have had to shut down my accounts since they are unstoppable.
Frankly, I do not know how to pay them as they behave so illegally. It is time for a Federal investigation before they take people's homes. I truly believe this is the whole idea. I do not have $5 to spare a month, am a single parent with a pittance of child support ($237/month) from an ex, who is a millionaire and lies about his income tax to say he makes $14K a year in front of the judges. My friends clothe my 14-year-old daughter and myself. Let's get the Fed going on this before they rob people of their homes! As I say, they hit me three times in one month and two times in another. Their overcharges caused me to be unable to pay. Now, I am afraid to because they will resume same practices. So my credit is being ruined by Nationstar.
So again, my family's home is in danger and I am unemployable though I worked from age 14, in this economy, due to identity theft already in my last business which Bank of America's fraud department mishandled to prevent an arrest of Justis **, who went on to take down two more companies, two more individuals to be wanted in three states, and who is in and out of jail. Thank you, Bank of America Fraud Department. Your inept, illegal behavior has made me virtually unemployable. I have worked despite my disabilities, created many U.S. jobs in all states as well as hundreds in Baltimore, and thousand in overseas manufacturing. I have worked since age 14 and managed companies including my own for 28 years.
To come to this, I wonder what is happening to America, that the bankers' fraud still crushes the middle class. I have a graduate degree but am now living below poverty level. And Nationstar would like to have my home and destroy my credit further than the identity theft did, which renders me unemployable. So I look like I walked away from business debt when in fact, I created six Baltimore jobs, and BOA failed to tell me my money was systematically being drained by an employee. They called and told an employee, who told the culprit, which prevented an arrest and made no restitution to me. When will the bankers be jailed for their illegal strategies?

Avoid Nationstar at all costs! Nationstar charges for online payments. They won't accept an electronic payment from my bank. Although it clears my bank, Nationstar doesn't credit my account until I call each month to find out why my loan is past due. When I do call, they are able to "find" my payment with the "I don't know why it wasn't credited" excuse. I have endured 10 months of robocalls for these issues. On one attempt to straighten this out, I finally spoke to a human, who immediately transferred me to a hold bank. I spent 90 min. on the hold bank until a new recording came on to advise me the office was closed for the weekend. Because of these issues, I fell behind in my mortgage (first time in my life). I was assigned a "foreclosure prevention specialist." After several voice mails, she won't return my calls. The phone tree is endless and it is very difficult to speak to a real person. Lending law violations ignored - I applied for a refinance loan recently through a broker, so Nationstar was not my choice. Boy, am I glad they are now refusing to close on my loan. I had been fully qualified by them, but at the last minute when the loan was to be funded, they held it up because my income was based on disability payments both federal and private so to go ahead with the loan, they needed "proof of continuance" benefits. With my private permanent disability payments, I am sure I receive more than most of the people in their office and my income is far more secure than anyone who depends on a boss who can fire or lay them off at a moment's notice. There is no end date in my policy other than it stops if I begin to earn over $100,000 year or I turn retirement age - 6 years from now.
What they are demanding now in order to fund my loan is a letter from my doctor stating what is wrong with me and that I will remain disabled without improvement for the next 3 years. I refused to give them my medical records because I knew that was a serious HIPPA violation. They refused to fund without it. At that point, the broker sent me a private medical letter he had from a previous client where the doctor described the patients (or clients) disability and stated that this disease (a wasting muscle disease) would not improve. The patient's name was scratched out, but I could still read it as well as the medical institution it came from and the doctor's name who signed it. Having been a medical provider my whole career, I was shocked at their ignorance of HIPPA laws.
I then looked up all the latest laws and lending policies for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac HUD and all other agencies (something the broker actually suggested I research so I could understand why they had the right to ask for this) and what I found clearly stated they were in total violation of all the lending laws in this regard. Obviously, no one at the brokers or at Nationstar had checked the laws and they assumed I would not. Granted these laws have changed as of May of this year, but even after I sent them all the laws and guidelines directly from the Fannie Mae and HUD websites, they have persisted in holding up my loan without the letter from my doctor telling them what is wrong with me and that there is no way I will get better.
All the broker did after receiving all my research on their violations of all the lending and banking laws was to offer going with another lender, but added that they will all require that same letter anyway - totally ignoring the research I sent them and not even acknowledging any of it. Guess they feel they are not only bigger and richer than the government, but God too! Of course I am filing complaints in as many places as I can, but I do fear these lenders still just do what they want to do despite their bailout money or any other laws they decide do not apply to them.
FYI: Here is just one line from Fannie Mae and the HUD rules: "Fannie Mae has re-categorized long term disability, interest and dividend income, and Social Security retirement income such that lenders no longer have to document a three-year continuance." There is much more on all the government lending laws, but all clearly showing they are in total violation, yet they continue to stand their ground as bigger and richer than God. I have reported them to BBB and HUD and should call me back. Does anyone else know how I can make a difference for all of us disabled who truly do qualify - war veterans included?

This is just to update on my complaint on 8/27/12. My wife found the number to Nationstar's CEO's office. His secretary tried many times to find someone to help us with our problem. We kept going up and down the chain within Nationstar. Finally, she got through to the manager for customer service. He was very helpful and told us he would ensure a check was sent to our town for the taxes and that he would FedEx it overnight. True to his word, our tax office called us 30 minutes to closing and stated a check had just been received. He also stated that he would do an audit and find out where our escrow money went and fix our accounts. He was also very concerned that we had this problem and that we couldn't get it resolved within the last 30 days.
Based on his and the CEO's secretary's response, I must say that some of the management at Nationstar do care about what is going on. I also feel now that a large part of the problem has to do with Nationstar using another company to handle their check writing and/or accounting. Also it appears to me that the other company and maybe the lower level people at Nationstar need some serious training. So while it took thirty days and I was within 30 minutes of having a tax lien placed on my property, I must state that the manager of customer service went out of his way to correct the problem in the nick of time.
I only hope that he can figure out where all my escrow money went to and get that problem fixed. Also I would like to add that we had requested many times to talk to a manager or supervisor within Nationstar and no one at the lower levels would allow us to do that. The customer service manager at Nationstar stated that this should never have happened and he was going to look into it. So again great job on his part!

My husband and I attempted to buy a house which was a short sale in San Diego. After looking for several months, we finally flew down, and found the house we wanted. Aurora Bank was handling the short sale. The price was $300K. There were several offers and we upped our offer to $305K. That was April 11th, 2012. We were accepted by Aurora Bank. Months passed and nothing happened.
Three and a half months later, we received notice that Aurora Bank was being bought out by Nationstar Mortgage. Finally, on August 29th, we heard from Nationstar, and they have upped the price to $330K with no explanation other than the fact that their appraiser has determined that the house should be priced higher. Their response to us was "take it, or we will put it back on the market." I think this is highly unfair, very unethical and should be illegal. We have been patiently waiting all this time, only to be screwed out of the house because Nationstar is attempting to extort an extra $25K out of us.

I recently had my mortgage moved from Aurora to Nationstar Mortgage, and I can't tell you how unhappy I am already with the level of customer service from Nationstar Mortgage. I never received a bill for the first month after the transfer from Aurora to Nationstar and was emailed from Nationstar that I was late with a payment, so I paid over the phone. The next month I never received a payment again, I called them and they charged me a late fee again. They were rude over the phone. The manager, Bill **, got on the phone and was just as rude. If I could transfer my mortgage to someone else l would do it in a heartbeat. I have 4 mortgages on several properties and have never been late, because when I get my coupon/invoice in the mail, I pay it right away. There is a reason this company has so many bad reviews online. They are the worst!

This is a follow up to my complaint on Aug 27, 2012. We received a phone call this morning from our tax office. Nationstar sent a check in the amount of $80.79 to our tax office for interest and penalties but still did not pay our taxes. So to date, Nationstar has emptied our escrow account of nearly two years worth of taxes and not paid our taxes for 2011. Now the town tells me I must pay the taxes out of my pocket to avoid the tax lien. Nationstar continues to refuse to approve payment of my taxes for 2011 and my 2012 taxes are due in October of this year. They have taken all our funds in the escrow account and they now show a negative balance in our account. How can I go from almost two years worth of money in escrow to a negative balance and still not have my taxes paid? No one seems to care that they are stealing people's money out of escrow and that they are causing tax liens on people's homes. Again, how can they get away with this?

I was given the runaround trying to refinance via Harp 2.0, so I went to a different mortgage servicer, and was approved fairly quickly. I was supposed to close tomorrow, 8/30/12, but am unable as Nationstar has not submitted the payoff figure for the mortgage to the new servicer, something that was requested over 2 weeks ago. I spoke to my attorney, and we will file a lawsuit since I will most likely lose out on the interest lock which by the way was 2.5 pts. below my current 6.5% with Nationstar, and whatever other legal reasons my attorney submits in the filing.
As a side note, after my loan was sold to them by the original bank, it took over 3 months of phone calls to correct the payment that was being deducted from my checking account. With the original bank, I was having an additional $100 per month deducted and going toward principal. Nationstar immediately dropped the payment down to the minimum for each month without notification. I was on course of paying it off within 22-1/2years, but that was tossed out the window with the Nationstar shenanigans, as they wanted my mortgage to run the full 30 years. As I stated, it took 3 months of phone calls to get this taken care of. Afterwards, they again reduced it, not to the minimum, but less than what was agreed upon. They are the worst I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

Disgusting company, incompetent staff: My mortgage loan was sold to Nationstar several years ago, and dealing with this crooked company is a nightmare. When our household income started to drop with the economy and we fell behind on monthly mortgage payments, I decided to look into hardship assistance and gave them a call. After explaining our situation to many people, I was referred to a "specialist" who would handle our case and help us in applying for the HAMP or HARP or whatever the hell it was. This person was a smart-ass female named "Regina" who took financial information from me for about 45 minutes, and she brought me to tears when she told me "Maybe the best thing you should do is sell your home!" The whole purpose of going through these programs is to keep your home! That was just one leg of my miserable journey with Nationstar.
Then after my husband got a 25% pay cut in March 2012, I called and spoke to a "loss prevention specialist" who could only tell me that I was behind in my payments and how would I like to pay and when. When I asked about a loan modification, she said she would send me the paperwork and seemed sympathetic (keyword "seemed") and said after I told her about my previous experience with Regina, "Yes, I see you never completed the paperwork!" (This I already knew, and that is why I was calling about a loan modification. Duh.) Little did I know how frustrating it was going to be talking to "Corlis." Needless to say, every time I spoke to her, my blood boiled and I knew we were not compatible.
I asked if I could speak to another specialist, and she said, "I am the only one you can deal with! Everything goes through me anyway!" (I thought to my self, one person in the whole company? No way.) Well, I sent in all the paperwork by fax on 6/11/12 (She took my email in order for me to download the forms.). I asked if I could email her if I had any question, and she said, "I don't correspond to emails. But you can email me when I can call you and when can you pay the total amount"? I hung up on her, because I was either going to have a heart attack from the anxiety she caused me or I was going to blow up on her on the phone. She brought out the worst in me, and I could not deal with her anymore.
I wrote a very sarcastic email to her, which she said she would block from then on. I called the company to speak to her supervisor or someone else who could help, and they referred me to her! Maybe they do only have one person. That is why everything is so disorganized and messed up. I waited for a response to my paperwork, and after about a month, I called Corlis. She said there was no record of any paperwork and I would have to resubmit everything again. Frustrated, I got everything together and faxed again.
Then after a week, I called and spoke to a man who said it looked like I needed to send additional information, a tax form, and that after they received it, it should go pretty quickly. After submitting what he requested via email, I called 4 or 5 days later. Another woman said two of the paystubs had expired(?); meaning, it took so damn long for this process that the dates on the paystubs were too old! So, I got out more recent stubs and emailed those to Corlis.
I asked her why no one told me I had to send more recent ones, and she told me I have to call every few days to double check on things. That is what most customers do. She also told me I needed two months' paystubs, and I had received a letter that same day from Nationstar that clearly said two stubs. She said it was a new policy as of August 1, and I said, "That's funny." The letter is dated on the 13th of August! Now it is the end of August, and I have received notification from a law firm that says I must contact them before foreclosure proceedings take place. Ahh!
I called Corlis to arrange to make at least one payment, and I know I owed more; but that was all I could do for now. She said, "We don't accept one payment." You have to send it all, which is for 3 months. Nothing was said about the loan modification. There is no such thing at Nationstar. They just stall long enough for you to get behind in your payments, so that they can foreclose on your home.
Now, I have a fraudulent charge of $350 for lender-paid expenses and $352.84 in late charges. Way to really rape your customers, Nationstar! I am fed up with this crap and dealing with these so-called specialists. They are just robots collecting our money, leading us on, and charging fraudulent fees. I didn't tell them to hire an attorney to send me a letter. I was well aware of what I owed. I was trying to make a payment arrangement, but they didn't want to take it as a single payment at a time.
One time, I called Corlis's direct extension and she answered the phone. "Hello? I'm in a meeting. Call back in 30 minutes." Real professional, I would say. Then, I called (four times) at 3:20 EST on a Friday, and the recording said, "The offices were closed." What kind of a place is this? After reading other reviews, I will also call BBB and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. I'm at the end of my rope.

My mortgage was sold to Nationstar several years ago and from the beginning, they have made numerous errors in accounting and sent incorrect and incomplete statements. I decided to make an effort to pre-pay the mortgage in full but had to keep insisting that the extra payments be credited to the principal. Initially, their statements did not show the extra payments at all; however, they have since corrected that. Nationstar would not allow the final payment to be made by personal check as I had made all other payments. I had to send a bank check which I did and then waited for some acknowledgement that the loan had been paid off and that I now owned my house free and clear. Weeks passed, but nothing came so I called. They said that I had to send a letter in writing (no email) to the reconveyance department in order to receive any kind of official notification (a deed to my house perhaps?) that that loan had been paid off. I sent the letter and I am still waiting. This is no way to do business.

My mortgage was sold by Bank of America to Nationstar in the beginning of July. They never provided me with the new loan number so I could access my account online. When I called for the new loan number, they couldn't tell me what it was because they had not set me up yet, and this was literally 5 days before my payment was due on August 1st.
Next, it was very unclear by Nationstar that my first payment would be automatically deducted from my checking account so I made my first payment through their website after not seeing my mortgage deducted from checking account 5 days after it was due. The website also did not inform me that there was a payment in process. This resulted in them trying to take my mortgage payment out twice from my checking account in which I incurred an insufficient fund fee through my bank. Fourteen days later, they finally accepted my first mortgage payment with them.
Now my 2nd payment, I logged into their website and tried to pay online with my checking account and noticed that there is a $9.95 fee to pay online - all because they use Western Union. What mortgage company uses Western Union now in 2012? Really?! Thankfully, I have a refinance opportunity in progress and hope to be closing on that before my 3rd payment is due at Nationstar. Our bank sold our mortgage to Nationstar. Nationstar didn't pay our taxes from the escrow account for 2011. Last month we received a notice of lien from our town on our property. This was the first we knew of it. We contacted Nationstar and they said they would turn it over to their claims department. We checked the amount in escrow and it showed almost two years worth of tax money in there. We kept asking Nationstar via telephone to please pay our taxes (almost daily). Each time we got a different person and/or a different department and a different excuse about why they couldn't pay them. By mid month, we checked the balance of our escrow account and it showed $1500.00 missing, but they still refuse to pay our taxes and still give us multiple reason/excuses for this. Lately, their claim has been they just happened to do an audit on the account exactly when we contacted them and the audit caused them to take our money from the account as it showed an overage. It should be noted that the $1500.00 they took out was more than what was owed on taxes for 2011.
Early on they told us on several occasions that they had contacted our town office to work it out when in fact they had not. We live in a very small town and one lady does all the taxes stuff. She stated several times that they had never contacted her. We even were talking to her on the cell phone and talking to them on the landline trying to work this out, but they still refuse to pay our taxes. The last two weeks they keep telling us our claim is pending approval and a check will be written to us. Two weeks prior to that, it was pending approval with a check to be written to the town. So to date they have for all purposes stolen $1500.00 from our escrow account. I don't have it and the town doesn't have it and there is a tax lien pending on our home. They refuse to release the funds to either us or the town and nowadays when you call them, you get it's pending approval because we called them out on all their other excuses. We tried contacting the supervisor at their customer service section and they told us they would call us back. They never did.
My fear is we will either lose our house to tax foreclosure or that they will refund the $1500.00 after many months of putting us off and then raise my payment because there won't be enough money in escrow for 2012 taxes which are due this October. The reason that there won't be enough in there for 2012 taxes is because they stole/removed $1500.00 from our escrow. How can these people get away with this? I have never been late on a payment to them and I have never been late on my taxes in my entire life. I contacted my senator’s office, but they just gave us a telephone number to a complaint line that is impossible to get through to.
I just don't know where to turn to resolve this. It should be noted that my wife just checked our escrow account online while I was typing this and now our account shows a negative balance of $67.51 as of 8/24/12. So now they have taken all my funds out of our escrow and my taxes still have not been paid nor have I seen any money, not to mention I have 2012 taxes due at the end of October of this year. I am just sick about this!

Inconsistent policies and different reasons for denial of endorsement of the last smallest check given by the 7-9 loss department staff at NM, including a supervisor, were not acceptable by me.

We’re not happy going through Western Union, but as long as it drafts every month when it's due (August payment was drafted and recorded on it's due date), then so far so good. Nationstar's customer service is pretty useless. It's almost like they want you to miss a payment! Go figure that one! I printed out a full record of my mortgage transactions with BofA before the account transferred, so I had an historical record of escrow payments and the whole mortgage in general.

In addition, you will continue to receive your monthly billing statement in the same method you chose with your previous servicer." This did not take place. In fact, on July 24, 2012, I received an email from Nationstar confirming I had chosen a paperless format. That was not the case and I did not authorize this. By August 13, 2012, I had still not received my paper statement/coupon for August 2012 in order to review my loan for errors or omissions, etc. So I called Nationstar and spoke to a manager. To avoid a late payment, I asked to make a payment over the phone. She told me that would be a $15 fee.
I asked her to waive the fee as they did not honor the promises they made in the July 15, 2012 letter. She refused and would not let me make my payment when, in fact, their billing/accounting cycle is behind and cannot keep up with the debt they absorbed from Aurora. This $15 fee is a scam and I believe this is a fraudulent practice. Based on their July 15, 2012 welcome letter, they breached all their promises. First, I got a letter saying to send my next payment to Nationstar, which I did, and changed my Auto Pay through my bank to reflect this change. Well, they neglected to say in the letter that they had given me a new loan number. I always pay early, so I saw (after about two weeks) that the payment was returned to my bank.
I immediately called Nationstar (and the hold time was about 15-20 minutes before you get to talk to the first line of employee there). I was told about the error in the first letter, and to make out the payment to Wells Fargo, and to put in the new loan number. I immediately did that and my bank sent out another check to them. Within another week, another payment went out (remember I pay early). Then, I start getting those annoying calls from Nationstar that they are trying to collect a debt. I have been getting them for three weeks.
I have called Nationstar several times, and actually have two names and email addresses from employees who sounded like they were trying to help. On July 24th, it went to "the research department," and I was told that I would hear something in 10 days. I sent over my proof of payment and they have that in their files. However, then it went quiet and I get daily debt collection calls. So, I asked them, "Where is my money?" I am sure that Wells Fargo would like to have it and I have sent it. I just don't know who to turn to as Nationstar is doing nothing. I am very conscientious about my credit and this is really bothering me. No one there could even look at their records to see that the charges had been reversed. Well, again, this April 2012 I was denied HAMP (not even a trial period) because of my NPV. I requested my NPV scores, which I have never received. Once again there were collection calls over and over and my credit got dinged so many times with lates over the "escrow" thing again.
My property value is worth a third more than my loan. I thought that was called equity! Communicating with Nationstar is like talking to a wall! They would rather "foreclose" on my home than allow me in the HAMP program. They would make more money if they "foreclosed" than lowering my interest rate (currently a 20-year loan at 7.25% and is equal to $2,000) with no escrow account on it, which if added would add another $400. No way are they going to get my home. Every payment has been made on time! Let's put one payment in "unapplied funds" and screw with the customer. Victim! They can stop sending me letters of "options", like short sale, etc. Who said I wanted to get rid of my home? They’re a worthless company I can't escape from because I don't qualify for a mortgage from another company due to filing bankruptcy to get rid of my second home that was way underwater.

My husband and I applied for a new house on March 20th. We were notified by the MetLife sales team a few days later we were preapproved and they were pending final approval which would be no issue. We were given authorization for KB to begin building. We went to the studio and building began. In April, we were told our loan was being transferred to Nationstar. We heard from someone in May who informed me they would finish the loan up. I never heard back from him. Just 3 weeks ago, a salesperson from Nationstar contacted us because she was finishing up the loan with anticipated closing date of August 15th. After asking for status and calls, we received a phone call that the loan cannot be approved, 2 weeks before closing.
We waited for 6 months after being given the okay, that we would not have a home. Our lease was up in June. We moved out to stay with family, out of town on the basis everything was fine, and now we are in a rush and bind to find somewhere for us to live with our three under 10 year old boys. We had a horrible horrible experience. To top it off, we were told it would take 4-5 weeks for us to get our own money that was put down. We changed our lives and now we are left alone to figure out where to live as school is starting soon for our boys. We took our boys to see the house as it was being built once a week. We were left to hang.

I received a welcome call from CJ ** on 7/12/12 and he advised that they would honor whatever agreement we had with Aurora. I have received past due letters, called, faxed and mailed the agreement but no one can tell me that they have received any of this, nor will they honor the agreement.
I called today and was advised to re-apply. I gave her my unemployment amount and bank balances without asking if I had further debt. She told me I had enough money to make the balance on my loan good. They have not even applied the amount I paid for June and July to the balance. I don't know how to handle these people as they seemed to be trained in mental abuse.
Does anyone out there have any advice on how to proceed? Right now, it seems that I may be put into foreclosure and they are so far away in Texas to go meet someone in person. This is definitely the worst experience of my life with a loan servicer. I would like to mention that the reason why I am unemployed is because of these bloody loans. I went through 7 months of providing paperwork (many times they were duplicating the requests) and I finally received a modification "Trial Period" to start on August 1, 2012. A day after I returned the signed documents (via FedEx), I received a letter stating that Nationstar Mortgage will be taking over the loan starting August 1, 2012. I called Bank of America and was assured that the modification Trial Period would stand because they received the documentation prior to July 17. I called Nationstar on July 23rd to find out where to send the payments and they informed me that they did not have my loan papers yet, that I should not worry that my first payment was due August 1st because they didn't have me in the system.
Today, August 3rd, I called Nationstar because I still have not received anything from them (except a letter telling me they can release my information). I told them I wanted to make the agreed payment and I was told I have to pay my original mortgage amount and start the modification process again because they didn't receive the documentation from Bank of America. I now believe that Nationstar and Bank of America have colluded to defraud consumers and keep dragging out the process to avoid helping us keep our homes.

With Aurora, we made our 3rd and final HAMP trial payment just before it was due on 7/1/2012. As of 7/1, we were transferred to Nationstar. Multiple Nationstar reps assured me that my trial period with Aurora would be honored and that my permanent modification would be delayed by just a couple weeks while they transferred all documentation. But now they're suddenly telling me I have to start the HAMP trial all over and are refusing to give any reason at all for this change. They keep trying to convince me that this is good news, that I am not out anything. But besides the added months of risk and stress, this means we will keep accruing interest at the old rate for many more months. That will cost us at least $6,000. Are others being told to start all over for no reason? Systematic delays like this would reap millions in additional interest for Nationstar, but is unethical at best and might be illegal.

My loan was transferred effective July 1, 2012. I had a 5-year adjustable ARM with Aurora prior to July 1. I was informed by Aurora that my interest rate would be decreased to 3%. The statement for July did not indicate that, so I sent in the amount to cover the reduced interest rate and called Nationstar. The gentleman indicated they had not received the reduction in rate from Aurora, it would have to be investigated and not to send in any additional monies, and I would be sent a letter in 7 to 10 days. The letter came indicating the rate would be 7.5% rather than 3%. On July 31st, I again called Nationstar to be told the investigation was complete and there would be no reduction in interest. I also received an August statement with a late fee. I explained the situation and was told it would have to be investigated, but I needed to send the letter that Aurora had sent to me with the reduction in interest rate to prove it.
This morning, I received a call from Nationstar advising me that the investigation was complete and my rate would remain at 7.5%. After explaining the situation, he told me that I would have to prove I had received a letter from Aurora. I told him to read the Mortgage Note. He told me he had and that I would have to prove it. I told him that he had the entire Aurora file and needed to pull the file. He stated, "Ma'am, Nationstar is Aurora and we have no letter in your file." After a lengthy discussion, he put me on hold for 15 minutes and got back to say that he had looked at the mortgage note and that the reduction in interest would take place on September 1st, not July 1st. Again, another lengthy discussion and he stated he would have to call me back. After reading all of these complaints online, someone needs to take some action against this mortgage company.

In with a self-addressed envelope to the address that Nationstar told me where to send it to, I had yet to agree with the numbers. But with the 6 months timeline coming up, I wanted to have them ready in case we agreed on the numbers. After 10 days of no return mail, I contacted Nationstar to find out that the $27,000 in checks had been put toward the payments. After informing them that I did not endorse the checks and it is illegal for them to cash them, they then stated the they would send me back the original checks in 3-5 business days.
After another week went by, I called again. Now they say that any checks of over $10,000 have to go into escrow or something to be held for the contractor to receive. I repeated what I said, "Again, you illegally cashed my checks since I didn't endorse them." They then stated they would put it in for a manager to review and look at the checks. Then not hearing from them for another week, I called again saying the same thing. I didn't sign the checks. This is fraud. They now state that it is my responsibility to get a copy of these checks and send them to them to prove that I didn't sign them. They made the mistake. Let me start from the beginning. On July 22nd, 2011, I was advised by First Horizon that my loan was going to be transferred to another mortgage company within the next 30 days and that I should be receiving a letter from the new company. First Horizon would not give me the new mortgage company's name. I was finally able to get your company's name on August 21, 2011. It was then they advised me to send my September 2011 payment to your company. I contacted your company on August 23, 2011, to get the address to send my payment to. It was then I was advised by customer service representative, Chandler, that your company did not have all the necessary paperwork to accept payment but if I did have my modification, if possible, could I fax it over to your company. I was advised after faxing the modification First Horizon failed to give your company.
I was to call back in two weeks to make sure the modification was received and, hopefully, by then, First Horizon would have sent all my loan documents over to your company. On August 30, 2011, I was advised my fax was received and that your company would be honoring my modification even though First Horizon had still not sent over all my loan documents. I was also advised that a welcome letter was sent out to me on August 29, 2011, and that, according to your legal department, First Horizon dropped the ball on my father's loan and that my house would not be sold since First Horizon cut too many corners. On September 14, 2011, I spoke to customer service representative, Obi. He stated the modification had been processed on September 9, 2011, but has not been updated in the system, do not make a payment until modification is completed in the system as the system would not recognize the payment since the total amount due was $279,000 and that I should be receiving a new payment amount, and to call back in two weeks.
On September 21, 2011, I spoke to Brandon. He stated my modification was not done correctly and that they, Nation Star, would re-modify my current modification to the correct amount. It showed the loan 3 months behind and it would be corrected since I did make my payments in July 2011 and August 2011 to First Horizon. On September 23, 2011, I spoke to customer service representative Glen ** and faxed over proof of my payments to First Horizon for July - August 2011. It was then I was advised of my new payment amount and to make a payment of $1287 effective October 2011 and that would be my new payment amount. I asked about the $148,437 payment amount I had given from First Horizon again. Mr. ** stated my modification was done incorrectly and that Nationstar had to modify the loan modification that First Horizon had completed. If Nationstar modified this loan again, then we should have a new start date with the amount and the percentage."
After reading this letter in its entirety, you can see the confusion between me and Nationstar. If anything, we are guilty of missing two payments, July 2011 and August 2011. As of March 2012, we were advised not to make any payments. According to Brenda, the mortgage has gone into foreclosure for a delinquent amount of $1,000,000 and the paperwork was sent to the attorney for foreclosure. However, we are still making payments to Nationstar. I asked her at what point were we notified in writing about the foreclosure. Ms ** said we were notified in December 2011 with the letter stating we had a delinquent amount of $10,000. So, I then asked her for a breakdown of the $10,000. She was not able to help me with the amount and what it was for at that point.
Ms ** was rude and unprofessional about the foreclosure. On March 8, 2012, I was advised by Brenda ** that every time Nationstar spoke to me on the phone, that was my notification. I understand that Ms. ** has a job to do but she was not only unprofessional nor did she want to hear anything, I had to say she advised me she would speak to the attorney and get the reinstatement amount which at the minimum would be 4 months of payments. I advised her there would be no way that could be done and again why was I not advised of this situation early or given a chance to add extra money to my regular payment to clear up any delinquencies. Again, she was rude and unprofessional as I quote her, "Ms. **, I don't know any other way to explain it to you. You are in foreclosure and we notified you verbally that you were in foreclosure." At that point, I was done talking and listening.
On March 26, 2012, Ms ** called me asking if I was going to make the payment of $10,000. I informed her no and that she was supposed to call me a week ago with the attorney's information. She acted surprised and asked why I wanted the information. Once again, I stated all I wanted was the attorney's information and that I would not be speaking to her again. She put me on hold for ten minutes and reluctantly gave me the number and asked again why I needed it. I told her, "Thank you," but again, I am not willing to talk to her as she is supposed to be a pre-foreclosure specialist and clearly did not give me or my father any options to get this loan back on track or even advise us of the foreclosure process. On March 28, 2012, Ms. ** called again asking about the $10,000 payment. I reminded her she had just spoken to me two days ago and I advised her then it would not be possible. I did inform her I contacted Nationstar's attorney and she seemed surprised and again asked why I informed her.
I had faxed all my information to the attorney's office and was advised, with the information I have sent to them, my home should have never been placed in foreclosure and that I needed to speak to a supervisor. It was then Ms ** hung up on me. I did speak to Keisha from the attorney's office, Home Solutions and she advised me to contact a supervisor and to get this matter straightened out since there is a process in the state of Arizona on how to inform homeowners they are in foreclosure and if I am still receiving my monthly statements, then I should not have been in the process. April 4, 2012 is when I spoke to David ** (supervisor) and he advised me to fax over information to him in reference to my July and August 2011 payments made to First Horizon along with a copy of my modification so he can see the discrepancy in my monthly payments which has been faxed three times previously to him.
On June 26, 2012, I sent another letter requesting they research this loan and I was informed, as of July 16, 2012, according to Nationstar, our home was sold. Again, we have asked for documentation of this and received trustee information with our mailing address but a different house being sold. Previous to that, we received a letter with our address but addressed to a Mr **. This shows this company does not keep professional records nor do they do thorough research! So, long story short, we think our home was called but nobody is able to provide any documents to prove it! We have filed complaints with the Attorney General's Office in Texas, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Trade Commission and the OTC! Also we have hired an attorney!

Late at night, on the weekend, I could not figure out why we were getting these calls so I called their company and asked what was going on and why were we getting the phone calls. The lady told me, "Well you're late on your payment. Would you like to make a payment today?" I told her I did not want to make a payment because they were given the info from Aurora Bank to take the payment out of our checking account.
She asked if we had received their welcome letter. I told her we had not and only knew about the new company because of the e-mail from Aurora. She said they mailed us one and we must have it. Well, today I looked online and still no payment was made and they added a $55.75 late fee. So I made another phone call and was once again assured that we were not to worry and wouldn't be charged the late payment. I said that since it had not added that to our payment, I couldn't understand why they wouldn't just add that to what they take out if they ever get to take the payment out. My bankruptcy was discharged a year and a half ago and my previous mortgage company had no problem allowing me access online, making payments online, and mailing me statements.
Nationstar insists that it's against federal law to allow anyone with a bankruptcy online access or statements being mailed out; however, they fail to realize that it's against federal law to deny a statement to a customer when they request it. A little over a year ago, my mortgage got passed from Flagstar to Nationstar. Since the start of 2012, I have been contacting Nationstar about getting either a HAMP or a HARP. They told me I qualified for both based on the ratio between my mortgage payment and my income. After I had waited six months, three for each application, they told me I did not qualify for either type of modification, claiming my financial hardship is not severe enough. What? They know that, on top of my qualifying based on that ratio, I recently had a pay-cut of $500/month to my regular academic year salary and that, because I am an instructor who is paid only 10 months of the year, my pay goes down by over $1,300 a month during the summer. They also know that I had to skip two payments last summer and must do the same this summer.
Meanwhile, however, they do send me - wait for it - credit cards and letters saying I do qualify for programs which would increase my monthly payment. Oh, really? I contacted my debt management counselor to get her advice. Two days ago, she, Nationstar, and I had a 3-way phone appointment. My counselor was great. She asked all the right questions, challenged what she felt were Nationstar's arbitrary guidelines for modifications, inquired about any and all options (most of which I'd never have known even existed). But Nationstar would not budge. They will do nothing to help me, unless you count their desire to increase my credit card debt and to double my payments with a 15-year loan. We have owned our home for over 16 years without ever missing a payment, and have dealt with numerous mortgage companies with no issues. Last August our mortgage was transferred to these fools, and it has been a nightmare! First of all, it's a good thing my previous mortgage company sent me a letter 3 weeks before the switch with my new account number, as I was able to go online and change my banking information to pay Nationstar, as these idiots never sent a statement for a payment due August 1st until the middle of August!
I then called to request information regarding my escrow account and got the runaround by more people than you could imagine. When I finally received a payment breakdown, I noticed they had actually charged me a late fee for the August payment that was received by them on time! Also, I found that they never paid my whole insurance premium! Then began the harassing phone calls when the payments weren't received by the 1st of the month (they were always paid within the grace period). I even resorted to calling every month to advise exactly what day they would receive payment so they would stop the calls. I was always told it would be documented and I would receive no further calls. Lie! They even resorted to calling my husband at work and they had the audacity to ask for his personal info which he refused to give because they called him!
Finally after 6 months of this garbage, I faxed a cease and desist letter advising them not to call until the payments were actually late and this has seemed to work the past few months. I tried to do a HARP refinance last December and it took their representative 3 weeks to call me back only to advise of astronomical rates and closing costs they were to offer. Two weeks ago I was contacted yet again about doing a HARP refinance and waited a week (after being told I would get a call the next business day) and I ended up having to call them back to find out that the type of loan I have does not qualify! Really? You are my mortgage company, why would you not have this information in front of you when you initiated contact? Has my loan type changed in the past 6 months? I am now working with a local bank who can hopefully spare us from this fiasco once and for all!

I was a CitiMortgage passover to Nationstar some time ago. I was able to get Nationstar to refinance my loan. However, since being transferred to Nationstar, I have had to call 5 different months to request them to mail statements. Over the past 3 months, I have not received statements via mail. I started calling in May, and customer service give me a runaround with their standard approved answers. When I finally get a hold of a "manager", I usually get a copy of my statement, either mailed or via email. This month, Nationstar hit a new low. I spoke to a "customer service manager" named Chris. He basically called me lazy for not going to their website to pull the information and that they mailed my statement and that either the United States Post Office lost it or else I threw it away.
After this, I spoke with a different "manager" the next day. I received a copy that he mailed within 3 business days. The same day, I received a phone call from an email I sent about Chris's behavior on the phone and was assured by this woman that my statement was mailed on the 15th. I called her this week to alert her that I still have not received my so-called statement that was mailed on the 15th. But within 3 days, I received a copy that was actually mailed. She followed up by emailing me instead of calling. I have reported them to the BBB. I am sure they are going to lie like the sad individuals who work for them. They are trying to trap people, hoping that they don't pay their bills by not sending them the statements. I just don't think these are good business practices.

I went to Nationstar locally to get an insurance check for water damages signed. They said they could not help, it had to be mailed to Ohio. I FedEx-ed it to them in Ohio. I waited a week, then they regular mailed it back despite the fact that I sent them an envelope and FedEx waybill. The waybill was filled out and paid for. I chewed them out for that, but as you know, they are way too arrogant to care. I received a check back with notice that they would not sign, despite the fact that it was signed, but not stamped on the back. The loss draft department admitted to screwing everything up, but that's not good enough. They regular mailed a very valuable check, didn't stamp it properly and when I called them back, it was worse. They asked me for a bunch more nonsensical stuff that they had never asked for before. If I did my job like they did, I'd be in jail or fired. They are incompetent, disorganized, lazy and confused.

In February 2012, we signed loan modification papers, which were to reduce our payments over the next 2 years. However, one week after signing and returning the modification papers, I received my billing statement for March and my payment had increased by over $200.00! Needless to say, I was beside myself when I called Nationstar to see what in the world was going on, only to be transferred to several different people. I was finally told my insurance paid via the escrow had increased to $6,400.00/year even though we had never filed a claim. The lady in the escrow department said I could find other insurance, have the information sent to them and they would run a new analysis to reflect the change and reduce my escrow payment and simultaneously reduce my monthly payment.
Well, I found other insurance in March for $1,143.00/year and the policy information and effective date is noted in the escrow section of my loan information, at the website, but the new escrow analysis has never been done. My total escrow for the year is $2,493.00 (taxes and insurance) and I have been forced to pay $2,588 in escrow alone, over the past 4 months (March-June). I was on the phone for over an hour on Friday and still have no guarantee that it will be fixed before my July 1st payment. When I asked what they would do with the overpayments I have made once the escrow is finally corrected, I was told they will not refund the money to me. Instead, it would be credited to my loan. This is absolutely ridiculous. It's no wonder so many people are losing their homes. I don't know how these people sleep at night.

When interest rates began going down, I contacted Nationstar as they held our mortgage. They put us through a little over 3 months of hell! I faxed documents over and over and over, and nobody could seem to find them. Then they told us that because we own an almond ranch that produces agricultural income, our loan couldn't be refinanced under one of the programs being offered to help people. We are not losing our home, but we have a 6% interest rate and would definitely like to get it lowered. Then about 6 months down the road, a Nationstar representative called our home and said we qualified for a refinance on our loan. I explained what had occurred in the last nightmare of trying to refinance, and the representative guaranteed me that this would not occur and that we definitely qualified.
After 5 months, they told us again that because our property produces agricultural income, we don't qualify under any of the programs for lowering the interest rate. And again, during this second attempt, I had to fax and re-fax documents because nobody could find the documents. That was approximately a year ago. Day before yesterday (June 19, 2012), a Nationstar representative again called our home and said that there were "new programs" and that Nationstar could definitely refinance our loan. However, once again, we received a call stating they could not refinance.
We are not contacting Nationstar. They have contacted us on the last two times, and even after everything being explained, they guarantee us that our mortgage will refinanced. This time I was told first that our mortgage didn't fit into the first program because it was over the limit, and then told that we didn't qualify. We have never been late on our mortgage, and in fact, send it to Nationstar early. How can they say we don't qualify? If someone with a brain would look at the situation, they would see that we have been long time tremendously good customers who pay their mortgage early and have never missed a payment.
Lastly, the complaints on this site about no return calls is a given with Nationstar. During our first try, I did not receive a return call even after I left many voice messages, and someone finally called back after I threatened a lawsuit. During our second attempt, again, no return calls until I sat on the phone for one full day and kept calling. Finally, I was put through to someone they said was a Vice President, and he then contacted us, but again, only after I left voice mail message after voice mail message. And yesterday, I left this individual 2 voice mail messages. Today, I called all day to his phone without anyone answering the phone, and again, I had to threaten a lawsuit. So, let's see if I receive a return call tomorrow! This definitely should not be how a business is run. Do not use Nationstar Mortgage. There are plenty of other mortgagors you can use.

This bank is absolutely horrible to deal with. After almost 5 months of dealing with this company, we walked away homeless. Don't let this happen to you and I hope you really take into consideration all the headaches from the other stories here that have to deal with these people in general.
My fiance and I were approved to buy a home through this company. They lure you in with lies, like paying your closing costs, certain fees and offers on interest rates that they can beat any bank. You are better off going through a local bank where you can deal with a real person face to face. We were supposed to close on a foreclosed property bank in April. They moved out our closing date 3 times with 2 out of the 3 not being mentioned. When it came to the closing dates, they would disappear and we could not get in touch with anyone at all at Nationstar to find out what was going on.
Our realtor had no luck as well. We gave our notice in our apartment and long story short, we are living out of bags and boxes. We have no place to live and in the end, Nationstar's asset broker came back telling us that we are better off voiding the contract due to unresolved issues with the title. Nationstar found out that there was a second mortgage on the house with JP Morgan Chase 2 months later, 3 closing dates later. You're telling me they couldn't find this out on the first closing? It turns out the underwriter from Nationstar knew the whole time that there were issues with the title and did not inform us and ignored us completely. The asset broker from Nationstar was the one who spilled the beans to us, stating that she had informed the underwriter of these issues and that the closing would be delayed longer.
Now we are in June, 2 months before our wedding and we have no place to live. Thanks Nationstar for the headache and for leaving us homeless. I'm surprised that with all these complaints, they are not shut down.

Our family will soon be evicted from our home. Nationstar created a foreclosure nightmare. They sold our home out from under us the very day we signed loan docs with HUD's Emergency Homeowner Loan Program. The EHLP loan will bring us current. And EHLP is ready to cut a check to Nationstar to the tune of $33k. And they still foreclosed and would not hold on foreclosure. The home went to public sale. They were the one and highest bidder. Our loan was $245k; they bid $139k. Our housing counselors couldn't help us. HUD couldn't help us. The evil Nationstar is determined to do what they want.
Mortgage crisis is still alive and well folks, and Obama's homeowner help, is not really a "help". Nationstar is horrible. Every time we called, they would play dumb, like they didn't know the status of our file, didn't know what EHLP was, and also wouldn't respond to HUD who was trying to give them money and verify loan details. Our assigned "foreclosure prevention specialist" was never available when we called. His manager never returned our calls. When you call, it's a 1800 number and they run you around, yet they called us all the time (always when we were at work). I've had better luck working with their attorneys. They are responsive and intelligent. We will be glad to end the Nationstar nightmare.

BofA transferred my mortgage to Nationstar. BofA tells me they've stopped drafting my account for mortgage payment and for me to send payment to Nationstar. Well, my mortgage payment is due on the 1st; it's past that and haven't gotten a Nationstar statement. BofA gave me Nationstar's phone number. When I called to get a statement, I was told it was already sent and that it will arrive shortly. I should not worry if it's late because due to the transition, late fees will be forgiven.
However, she'll take payment over the phone if I like. I thanked her and said that I'll just wait for the statement. I started getting robocalls which my husband hang up on. He tells me it was a robocall from Nationstar. When the next robocall came in, he passes me the phone, but before I get the phone, the robo hung up. This went on a few days. Now, I'm getting collection calls. I explained that I called to inquire about getting statement so I could pay but haven't gotten it yet.
Well, if they don't get my payment by the end of the week, I will have late fees. I explained that I'm making every attempt to pay but still waiting for their statement; will pay as soon as I get it. Turns out that they had the wrong mailing address. I still must pay before end grace period or be charged late fee. They said that I agreed to pay whether I get the statement or not. I asked, "Who do I pay? I have no Nationstar information. I can only send the payment to BofA as it's the only mortgage account information I have. I told the service rep that she obviously isn't getting it and I need her supervisor. These people are idiots.
When the supervisor came on the phone, I told her my story and that I didn't appreciate getting collection calls when I've made calls to try to make payment and it's Nationstar that isn't providing information on how to send them a payment. Finally, I got the supervisor to take down the correct mailing address and to send statement to my correct address.
Back and forth of the mail won't, however, make due date to avoid late charge. She'll take a payment over phone, check my account information, no credit card. I told her I'll give her the check information, then she said that due to the issues, she'll waive the fee. Fees? What fees? Apparently, making phone payment with a person costs. I told her that customers should be informed of the fees upfront - that Nationstar was adding hidden fees to customers. Finally, I got her to send me the statement via mail, as a test, to ensure that I'll get the next statement. I am crossing my fingers that I will get my mailing so I don't have to deal with these dunces again next month.

In December of 2011, Bank of America had Nationstar Mortgage take over the payments. I guess they sold the loans. This first month, I had forgotten to sign up for automatic payments so I called and made the payment for December 2011 on the phone. I then signed up on their automatic payment plan with my bank's routing number that I was led to believe was on a monthly basis. My payment was rejected in January 2012 and I had to use Western Union to get the payment made. So I signed up again on Nationstar’s website. I needed my bank routing number and the payment for. In February 2012, I was rejected so I paid via Western Union again. The payment was rejected in March 2012 so I again made a payment through Western Union.
So then I signed up through Bank of America in March 2012 so they could automatically take the payment and this worked for April 2012 and May 2012, but now in June 2012, my payment was rejected again. They keep sending me things about how if I can't make a payment, then they have "special plans" and I am not interested because I have the money in the bank. But I have been unemployed since January 2009. I make my house payments with money from an IRA. Personally, I think because I am unemployed, they are targeting me and I feel harassed.

This is brief because I will take time later to write and "cut and paste" about the "issues" and "harassment" I have received from Nationstar. All I can say is I wish I could escape this horrid mortgage company, but they would rather "foreclose," which is the last thing I want or deserve. Every payment was made on time since and before they "got" this mortgage from Flagstar. I have done everything right. They have no right to threaten me. HUD could do nothing for me, so now I am going to the NW Justice Project, who HUD recommended to me, because they can actually sue, etc. Nationstar. Maybe this will help, but there is no point trying to actually communicate with Nationstar! Next time I get the call it will probably say, "Is ** there? Yes. Can you verify your zip? The last 4 of your SSN?" We all have been told that no credit card/bank would never call you and ask for this. If you called them, then give it to them. So how can it be legal for Nationstar to call and make me give them the info? Next call I am throwing it back in NS's face. I will tell them, when I call them, I will give that info. She worked with Nationstar, who had us submit all my financial papers, hardship letter, etc., so they could determine if they would agree to short sell. After four months of submitting papers to them, never having phone calls returned to realtor, never receiving the same information from each person you spoke to, Nationstar went ahead with the foreclosure and my home will be in a Sheriff's Sale next month. I contacted the litigation department of Nationstar, and she told me that their company would never stop a foreclosure to allow time for a short sale. So, someone in their company is lying. Due to financial problems beyond my control, I was unable to send my full mortgage payment in December 2011. I wrote a letter to Nationstar to explain what had happened regarding my payment. To make a very long story short, I was denied a mortgage modification and denied a repayment agreement. I was also informed it would not be possible to "tack" the one payment on the back of my loan.
I complained to many agencies. I could not get any help. So I have been paying the mortgage in full since 01/01/12. When I receive my statements each month, I am given a number to call regarding foreclosure. When I called this number, the computer prompt informed me what I owe and a payment is due now. I never talked to a human regarding my situation with this company. When I have spoken with their customer service, I had to deal with uneducated, extremely rude people who seemed to be straight out of the worst ghettos in America.
I have not been employed since April 2011. I am on a fixed income. For me, paying such a high mortgage has been very, very hard for me. I have paid, because I have no place else to go. My next payment is due June 2012. If I pay, the threat Nationstar will foreclose will always be there. I have not received a foreclosure notice, sale date, nothing. I can't continue living like this. I am so stressed out from all of this. Is there anything I can do regarding this predatory lender? They take my money, but they don't have the decency to start foreclosure proceedings or do something to help me stay in the home. In all my many years at this home, I have never had a lender as dishonest as Nationstar Mortgage.

It has been a nightmare to deal with Nationstar. I had First Horizon in which I was going through a modification (which was a nightmare too). My husband's a Union carpenter and lost his job, and the jobs he had were few and far between. We had a second child and could not keep up with payments. When Nationstar bought First Horizon, I had to again go through the modification sending the same paperwork over and over again each month. It was a nightmare. I was harassed by Nationstar and by their creditors. I kept telling them I want to keep my home, I want to pay my mortgage, and that we just simply cannot afford it and just looking for a modification. We are honest people, who just want to keep our home for our two children.
Finally, after over a year of dealing with this nightmare, they approved it. And since the modification, it has been shady as well. They were supposed to include all legal fees/back payments, etc. into our mortgage. So far, they have tacked 2/3 of the payments on "maintenance" fees and "legal" fees. When I called to ask about them, I get a different person each time and they always put me on hold and get back on the phone 5 minutes later to tell me pretty much nothing, that they are "maintenance" fees and "legal" fees. They told me today that my house was going through foreclosure and that is why the fees popped up and they got charged after my mortgage was modified. **!
I asked them to show me proof and documentation for what the fee is, and I told them point blank that I know they can charge whatever they want and peg it as a fee. All the woman could do was tell me that my file says my house was on foreclosure and these fees I have to pay. I am beyond annoyed and need to get the heck out of my home, so I don't have to deal with them ever again! They are lucky to have me, because I will fulfill my obligations and pay my agreed-upon mortgage every month on or before it is due; but to pay the fees (which I already paid because I felt obligated to pay it or my credit would be affected), they have got to be kidding me.

They call constantly. In November, I lost my job and had to skip a payment. In December, I called to pay them 2 payments and Larry said he refused to take my payment! He refused to take 2 payments! I demanded a supervisor, was put on hold 20 min. He came back on with no supervisor to talk to. He finally took it but said we had to come to agreement to get caught up. I told Larry we won't come to any agreement.
They bought my loan knowing it was 2 payments behind. I'll continue to make payments and there isn't a thing they can do about it. I told Larry I never wanted to talk to him again, and won't. Our mortgage was originally with Citibank. In October of 2009, we were notified that Nationstar had taken the mortgage. We were in negotiations with Citibank at the time to catch up the two payments we missed as a result of a financial hardship. We have been trying to please this company for over two years. We have submitted paperwork every time we were instructed to do so, only to be told several months later that we were in danger of losing our home because a pay stub was not clear when faxed. We have been through this cycle several times. Now, we have been served foreclosure documents. We consulted a lawyer and answered the foreclosure documents ourselves on time and through the court system as instructed.
Now, we have gotten a notice from the Nationstar attorney asking the court for a summary judgment of foreclosure due to our failure to answer the complaint! We did answer the complaint. We are now at the point of looking for rental homes just to get out from under Nationstar. We have owned this home since 1998! We just want to get back to paying our mortgage and have the missed payments either added to the end of the loan or even have the amount added to our payment each month until we have caught up. We have made payments, jumped through hoops and practically begged these people to stop lying to us. They continue. This house isn't opulent or new. It's over 50 years old and in need of work. In September of 2009, I was notified that Flagstar had sold my mortgage to Nationstar. When I finally received contact information from Nationstar, they had incorrect information on me. Every year, they have made a mess of my escrow analysis. This year was no different. After dealing with many years of escrow statements from two different houses and several different mortgage companies, they insist that I do not know what I am talking about. They had to re-analyze my escrow account three times this year because they neglected to automatically drop my PMI, as was stated in my original closing documents (contract) with Flagstar. They then used the wrong history information to re-create the second analysis after I called them complaining. Finally, they figured out that they had done it wrong, again! Somewhere between the first and third escrow analysis, they changed my payment date to be a month earlier, a mere 5 days away.
My payment had already been sent for the previous amount. I was shocked to find a letter in my mailbox stating that a payment had not been received. Funny thing, the check had been cashed more than two weeks earlier, but not credited to my account. When I called customer service (at their convenience!), I was told to calm down. "Patricia,” whom I can only assume was using a fake name because I could not understand her "English", told me that a payment had not been received. I explained that my check had been cashed, but no payment applied. I was told that until the full payment (the new one) was made, nothing could be done for me. I needed to call back when they received my check and request the late fees to be taken off. She was not able to explain or even comment on why my payment date was changed. I have never received satisfactory service from anyone I have spoken to at Nationstar Mortgage. I will be doing my best to get out of my mortgage with them as soon as possible. They are already ripping us off with the 8% interest, but that is beside the point. I called today to ask for a one month deferment, and take that month's payment to the end of our loan. They are not losing anything. In fact, they are gaining more interest on that payment. I was told no and there are no options for me, and if I am late, I will be hit with a $85 late fee. Really? So that is how you treat people who already struggle but make sure you get your $2,300 every month?

We recently received a phone call stating our mod was approved; however, it only dropped our interest a half percent and with property taxes impounded my payment actually will increase $200 a month. How is that helpful? And since our mortgage is not backed by Fannie or Freddie, none of the government programs apply. We just received a packet stating the terms late this afternoon. Every two weeks or so, they request repeat information! After reading this blog, it appears I am not alone. I lost my job because of an injury and am now on Social Security. I have replied to every request that they have asked. I am now selling furniture to keep up with my payment. I was told that I don't make enough to qualify for HARP, which I would prefer. I know I qualify for HAMP! My loan is interest only at 6.5%. Lets be honest. Nationstar can do anything they want to do. There are several condo in my complex that have been for sale for over a year, all in short sale mode. Would the bank prefer that and only get a fraction of what is owed? All I am looking for is to lower my payment and have it affect the principal!

I had my loan sold to Nationstar in September of 2009 by Flagstar Mortgage. I had just lost my job and income at that time, over $100,000. I had started my loan modification with Flagstar when they sold it to Nationstar. For the last 2.1/2 years, I have had nothing but trouble with Nationstar. I have sent then the same information more than 4 times. I got the same line of ** as everyone else.
Up until January 2012, I was current with every payment. At that time, my FICO score was 775. As with all the other individuals that have been screwed over by Nationstar Mortgage, I was lied to and misled as well. I also would like to have a class action lawsuit filed by an aggressive lawyer. They need to be closed down and everyone needs to be compensated.

Well I am in the same boat most of you are in. I have been trying to get a modification for two years, been rejected because the employee typed my information in wrong and by the time it has gone through, their rules changed and the forms changed. I have gone through 6 modifications, and if you have been through one, you understand the heartache it takes on you. I went through a trial period and was assured that after making the payment on time for three months, I would be able to have the modification go through.
However I was told today after I contacted them that the template on all modifications was wrong and no one fixed it in a timely manner, and along with a lot of other people, were rejected because of this. I have been waiting on an answer since October, I was told in February that the papers would be sent to me by the beginning of March. I have been paying the trial period since August when it started. When I asked where my money went, he said "To a miscellaneous account.” What!? Another game! They say I have to start over. Oh and be sure to hand in your paperwork within 48 hours.

My husband and I were sought out by Nationstar Mortgage for refinancing to reduce our interest rate. We have a 7% rate and they were offering us 3.25%. In the past year, Nationstar has checked our credit 3 times, appraised the house 2 times. They have denied us the refinance due to "collateral issues". The first appraisal was $175,000 (7/11) and the second was $145,000 (12/11). Our mortgage balance is approximately $56,000.00. The denial letter stated that the second appraiser picked up that the property was a duplex (zoned for multiple-units, unpermitted and unable to find a comparison in rural Georgia). This property is a single family dwelling and is located in North Carolina. Nationstar has been the holder of this mortgage for over 15 years and nothing has changed. We feel that Nationstar Mortgage looked at our age and the equity we have in the home and decided they would drag us down this road until they could come up with something to deny us.
Today, 4/10/12, we received a Pre-Approved Settlement Offer for $50,299.00 which we have no idea what it is for. We are not behind on our mortgage. They are trying to bully us out of our home! We feel we are being bullied by Nationstar as well as being discriminated against, due to our age and the equity we have in the property. We welcome any help or advice.

I was an acquisition to Nationstar from GMAC and it's been nothing but a living nightmare ever since. For some reason that makes no sense to me, Nationstar at random assesses our account $12.15 without notice or warrant at random for what they label "property inspections" on my mortgage account, which is current. I never see a body or am I given notice either by mail, phone or in person when the supposed inspection representative shows up. I have asked multiple times for proof of the inspection/visit or when the next one is scheduled to be done so that I can "meet the guy". I just got told no and disconnected. I have sent a letter requesting the same and got no response. It seems that there are never any nice things said about this company. I seriously think that someone needs to look into their business practices which seem highly questionable and in fact, illegal.
