I have had nothing but problems from this company! Since day 1. So like most reviews in here, I had a 2005 Infiniti qx56, price on window $12,780. I put $3,500 down, which should have covered the $3,000 for pay off amount. I have never been late, until this time, it was a partial payment, (reg payments were $485) they repossessed when I had just made an agreement to pay the $350 (included late fee) of this month’s payment. That agreement was made on a Friday, to pay the following Friday. They repossessed it 2 days later, but they messed up. I have a voicemail from a supervisor (still saved) that said it was still okay to make that agreement on Monday a voice mail. Smh. Payoff amount was $3,000... so, shouldn't have the $3,500 I put down be the payoff? Even if not, I had an agreement, they broke it. I’m now out of $24,000 I’ve already paid on this car. Now I have nothing to show for it! Thanks Lobel you are real "GANGSTERS".

Oh and don't bother asking for supervisor or manager... there is never one there! And yeah I now have bad credit because of $3,000 that technically I don’t owe. And y’all stole my new $4,000 rims and tires I just paid off and have lifetime warranty on. Y’all had me replace the transmission the first month I bought it, so disappointed in this company. Oh and love being laughed at when I explain my situation, (which was I almost died in Jan. My mom passed in February, I have a chronic medical illness/disease) so y’all are real piece of work! Pos! DO NOT FINANCE THRU THIS COMPANY! YOU WILL GET ROBBED.

My car got towed from work because my tags were behind. I quickly paid the registration and tickets at DMV... While I was getting these things taken care of, Lobel Financial went to the tow yard without letting me know or with a warning repossessed my car. My payments were not in default nor late nor in collections. They charged me for a repo!! How I don't know this has to be illegal... Instead of just the normal fee for being late at DMV...my loan company Lobel Financial added 600.00 more dollars to what I was already paying the initial tow yard. This is robbery. Please help.

This company must be stopped!!! I got a auto loan with Lobel Financial (not knowing how bad the reviews were until after!) - we were approved at a mid/bad rate (it was decent enough at the time)- we get the car and drive off! Three weeks later we received a letter that our auto loan was denied- "wait what???" "We were in the dealership when this was all approved" I even spoke with one of the company's representative 1 week later to verify all the info, we were told when the payments were due... etc.

Fast forward almost 3 months later (after making the first and second payment on time!!!) I even walked the first payment to their office because I read all of their horrible reviews, I mean nightmare reviews... literally!!! I received a call from the dealership a few minutes ago letting me know that the loan company called them and said we were defaulted and never made any payments to this day (2 months from date we first bought the car). This is CRAZY. I have PROOF!!! I have one of their receipts and my canceled checks! Unbelievable!!!

I just sent the info to the dealership, they will be calling them with the proof, I am waiting to see what happens. The loan company has never personally called me... never to say that we are supposedly defaulted..??!! This is a nightmare!!! I am just sick over this, and by reading most of their reviews, just about 100% of the folks are saying the same thing... how is this legal?? I will be following up with this soon!

My experience with this company is by far the worst. They have horrible customer service, they work only by fax and phone number, I was constantly misinformed about my account and who to reach for help. They never “receive” faxes with important documentation and conveniently without that documentation, my monthly payment is about $200 higher. Their employees are rude and do not provide any sort of assistance or information to their customers. This is a shady establishment and the worst experience I have ever had with a company. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THEM.

My husband and I got a car loan with Lobel 12 years ago in 2005. We had the van for about a month. It keep breaking down in that time. It got repossessed one month after we got it. They took us to court in 2005 and got a judgment against us. It is now 2018 12 years later and they are just now trying to garnish our wages after all this time.

Do not get financed through this company. You will get screwed by them and they don't care about anything but making more money off you. My car got stolen and because they said that for any reason my car should get impounded they have the right to repo. Told me if I wanted my car back had to pay a ridiculous amount for a car that the police told me couldn't run. They auctioned off the car and still took me to court to pay them the full amount of the circle. Very heartless company. Couldn't even take consideration that I was a victim of a crime.

I was desperate for a car and went through them as I had no other options at the moment. They force you to get a car under 9k and within a few months when you are on your feet, the loan is too low to refinance outside and they will not lower the 25% interest. They will not work with you at any point and for any reason. They call with lies and threaten to have your car impounded because they did not apply the payments correctly. I am so thankful that I traded in the car and never have to deal with these gangsters again.

Unprofessional, unwilling to help and untrustworthy. I contacted the company on behalf of my niece who is a co-signer on the vehicle. Her father had purchased the truck a month ago but has since been unable to make the truck payment. I called to make a payment and to see what options we had to either sell the truck, keep making payments, or surrender it. The whole time the lady kept on insisting on having the truck voluntarily repoed even though I told her we could make the payments. That, since the loan had an exaggerated interest rate (which she stated she was unable to tell me the exact rate over the phone) that we should just take the loss.

I understand that business is business but I work for a bank and have seen people get stuck in a jam before and there are normally options for them. I have never heard of a company that will not explain the details of a loan or insist on having a vehicle repossessed. In regards to the loan. Their interest rates are through the roof, I did not believe that the rates they have even existed still. The truck was purchased for $16k. By the end of the term the total amount paid, interest plus principal will be $32k! Double the original amount on a normal five year loan.

I call again and title dept. said it under legal dept. transfer to legal dept and transfer to accounting dept. and I asked for lien release to email or mail express the title and they said it will be regular mail and it will be another 21 days before I see the title; hope they can communicate through dept. to at least solve this issue.

Lobel Financial will approve you at the cost of competence - I voluntarily surrendered a financed vehicle a few years back so getting an approval with a prime lender was difficult. However Lobel gave me the green light. I've been in the vehicle now going on four months and every month there's been a headache to deal with regarding Lobel. The first month they increased my payment by $90 as they claimed they didn't receive my insurance declaration page. I called my insurance and they again forwarded the required information and I refused to pay the $90.

Sure enough the next month comes when I get my statement, I again am being charged an extra $90 because they once again claim they never received my declaration page. I talked to a rep and they told me they neglected to update it and the fee would be waived. Welp, here is 4 months in and not only they keep trying to charge me an extra $90 a month but they're calling every day looking to get a past due balance. My payment is due in one day and I still haven't gotten my statement for this month. Incompetent business practices at best, if you're not that desperate I'd advise going with a better loan option.

I want to warn everybody about this ** company. June 2014 I bought a used 2008 VW Jetta. Knowing it was overpriced I needed a car so I got it. September I was having some financial issues so I called them and let them know my payment will be late. We agreed on the date when I was to pay and then catch up in October within the 10 day grace period. They agreed and said that they will put it in their notes. October 6th they repossessed the vehicle. When I called them the next day they acted like they weren't sure what vehicle I was talking about and if I even had an account. They put me on hold for 15 minutes (literally) and I hang and call back several times and several days after the first initial call.

The Rep eventually tells me that her "management team" are working on my file then she asks me why I haven't been at my address and if I can provide proof of residence. I told her I work and I go to school. And that I'm hardly at my home. She continues to ask if where the vehicle was parked was my address. I told her no that I go there a lot after school. She says, "Well we cant give you the vehicle back until you agree that's your address". I told her no. I am not going to tell her false information. I told her about the agreement I had with the rep back in September and she put me on a 10-minute hold again and said there was nothing in the file.

Every time I called I told them the rep before them was suppose to update my file... There has never been anything in the file not once!! They NEVER gave me the information about where my vehicle was so I could pay for the car and the tow/storage fee. In CA the law is 20 day grace period for the buyer to get their vehicle back. They failed to provide me with this information and was never on the line long enough to pay them any money. I spent over 3 years paying for this overpriced car that was a 48 month contract for what? So they can take back illegally and not honor their side of our agreement! The worst company EVER.

My boyfriend was buying a car from a dealership 2 hours away from our residence believing he could get a better deal on a car. I was asked to be one of 6 required references (what happened to the 3 usually required?). My bf put a 12% down payment on the car and even offered to pay more monthly on the payments. He also has full coverage on his cars. We left after hours of being at the dealership, and that was after he chose one of the first cars we saw without wanting to see anymore.

We left on our 2 hour drive home. The following day I received a call from the financier, Lobel, asking me a lot of questions, such as what relationship I had with the buyer, where was the car, who was driving it, and if I would be willing to sign on the contract as well! I said "no" that I wasn't the one buying the car. I thought the questioning was a little overkill and inappropriate. I was just a reference! The following day, the dealership called and said that my bf told the financier that I was his "mistress" and that he was buying the car for me! I was taken aback...

She then said that the financier would only approve the loan if I signed the contract, since I was also driving the car, because when they had asked me who was driving the car, I told them that I was using it to drive to work since my truck was in the shop until Sat, two days later. Basically, they wanted me to take responsibility for a car that was not mine just because I was using it for a couple of days (I also am fully covered on the insurance). I said "Absolutely not!" I can't afford something like that, should it ever come to that. Recently had to take out a loan to pay for medical care that I did not want to do, but had no choice if I wanted to get the surgery done (life threatening).

I called my bf who stated he "never" told them that, and he was livid! The other 5 references were also annoyed by the questioning they also felt was inappropriate. The dealership told me that they would finance the car for him, but he needed to drive all the way back to the dealership to redo a new contract. He only has one day off a week, he could not take a day off to go back. I asked if they could FedEx the contract and he could mail it back. This apparently was not an option. I am glad that I have seen the horrible reviews of this finance company, so that we definitely will not do business with them! We are also rethinking purchasing this car!

This whole week I've been getting calls from Lobel Financial telling me I need to make a payment. I have verified that my bank payment did go through finally. I called them back today. They threatened to come and repossess the car because they have no proof that I have insurance on the car, I clarified that when I bought the car they requested proof of insurance which I gave to them and the dealer, when I submitted my paperwork to finance the car they requested. In May 2 months ago they requested proof of insurance again. I had my insurance company send it to them directly to their insurance department, on Thursday of this week.

I actually printed it out and sent it to them, and today they call me to tell me since they have for space insurance on my account they need 570 dollars today or they will repossess the car today kama. I told her this was a two-way conversation so when I needed to ask a question she needed to stop talking and answer my question just like when she asked me a questions. I stop talking and answer her questions and if she kept interrupting me I was going to hang up. I hung up on her about 3 times. She kept calling me back and every time I had to remind her that this was a two-way conversation so, "When I talk you listen. When you talk I listen." She didn't understand the concept. She's very rude. Definitely doesn't understand customer service, I finally didn't answer the call. Would never do business with them again. Think they should be looked into by the government.

The place where I picked up said to call Lobel because they're liable for the car. Called and this rude ** was talking to me all she wanted, even put me on hold like 100 times for more than 5 min each and finally told me they can't do nothing for me. The frame is messed up on the car and to put the cherry on top the car is only worth 233 dollars from Kelley blue book value and I think it was a slave title. If you have any one in your family that is going to finance a car never go through Lobel because this is the second time they have done this to me. The 1st time was last year. These people are sick like really. May they burn in hell when they die. That's all I can say. I only owe 2,961.00. I am so sick of these people. I taught the price was fair as the car was a Mercedes Benz. The dealer lie that it was a 2014 but it was a 2004 as shown in the original documents. He stated that they did maintenance and everything is new but only after 1 months! The brake start to do problem! Now I start to understand why he want me to be financed and did not put warranty of the vehicle.

After only 3 months Lobel start to create problem by asking me insurance coverage that the dealers already fax to them and threatening me to sue me in court! 3 months only! But I threat them back! While I ask my insurance to sent them the coverage requested, I start to pay my vehicle while I was feeling scammed! But I could not cancel the contract anymore after 2 years of payment and fight while their service is so bad! 1) You cannot pay online. 2) Paying over the phone they charge you a fee of 10.00 dollars that I ever understand why? 3) By money order (MoneyGram, Western Union they charge you a fee of 12 to 25 dollars). 4) By mails they receive your payment late and never sent you a proof of receipt payment. Either a true statement with your payment and balance. Either payment history. (I keep the track by myself belong with my receipt.)

Now I had a balance of 90.00 dollars and spoke to their representative that I will pay this Friday after work by going to their office since they are not option online and by phone they charge me. In my surprise as many people complaint already. In the morning my vehicle was gone! How a huge disconvenient! Principally in rain period. And I work two jobs so I can was unable to work 2 jobs anymore who is lost of money from me. Beside that I could not do my routine as pay bill and go to work! Now I am trying to get my vehicle back but I am suing them in the courthouse in Glendale since it is the closest branch where they do business. I want anyone who did get hurt indirectly or directly to their badly business to either contact the court or the FCB (Federal Credit Bureau) to report them. Or come in the court the day of the hiring.

We cannot let them keep hurting and abusing people; principally if it is us who make them rich and help them to be able to stay in business. It is also the way they conduct their business with a website so poor! You cannot even log in to your account to see your balance and option. Beside if they borrow you money that you still pay what is their right to take your property when you still paying them and did not fall in default or stated that you are unable to pay. I am attend to use all my power to make them out of business. My vehicle value is 3,500 but I am paying them 10,000 and already pay them 6,000 something! What they had to complaint about it?

The whole time they told me they needed approval from manager to get the car released. I provided them with all the info they asked for. They continued to tell me they would call me back and give me the price needed to pay. It took 3 days to get the info. When they finally gave it to me, I was told that it had been ready for 2 days. So I got charged the extra days of storage where I was charged for personal property storage which was stored in lockers. They left everything in the car saying they were going to get to it the next day. But still charged me for the storage...

I got my car back and now they are saying I haven't been covered in 4 months, and they have been charging me extra. The car has been fully covered the whole time. I've been with State Farm and they send in paperwork and copies of insurance policies every month. And Lobel says they have my insurance records from June. Telling me it was a month to month policy. Which is impossible since State Farm does 6 month policies. Insurance has contacted them 3 time in a week providing info they requested and they are saying they are not accepting my insurance, charging me extra money for them not updating the files, telling me it takes 5 days to update and they had my info 4 months and have not updated file. Yesterday my car repoed. When the repo man was here we had the money in hand to paid whatever was owed in the rear. The repo man told my husband that lobel didn't give him any paperwork with that information on it. Actually he had no paperwork at all. So he repoed the car. So this morning I called them to pay what was owed and they advised me that the only way I will be getting my car back is to pay my loan in full. I told them this would of been avoided if they sent the repo man with the paperwork so I could of paid it. The customer service there is AWFUL! They never let you talk to management. They leave you on hold forever then all of a sudden you get disconnected. You call the corporate number - they send you back to the other number. You call the legal department - you stay on hold and then all of a sudden you get disconnected.

Never make payment arrangements with them coz they will repo it anyways. Then they tell me I am a risk because the loan is new. I understand that when I brought up that I had more income. The minute they heard it was SSI and SSA they wouldn't have any more to say to me. The car lot I got the car from didn't want to add that income along with my job income. When I first got the loan I tried adding more income. They wouldn't do it either. What are they prejudice against people on government assistance? Lobel is a very bad company to go through. OK... My car was recently repossessed from my/this lien holder Lobel Financial. Now as soon as it was, I immediately thought it was stolen not thinking that repossession was what happened in the first place. Now I started my auto loan January 2012 and it is now almost Jan 2016. That makes FOUR years into nothing but good payments with this subprime lender that a lot of you people review unfairly in my opinion.

I am being 100% truthful. Lobel has ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS made it clear that as long as a payment is made by the 45th day, then you are good. I have always made my payment prior to the 45TH day. Now many states vary though. In my state, we have automatically 30 days to pay plus and additional 15 day grace that totals the 45 day. So here we go Dec 2015. I decided that I would pay my note Dec 28th which was only THREE days past my 45 day mark. Yes, they REPOSSESSED my truck. I called them and yes they were RUDE, yes they were BLUNT AND UNPROFESSIONAL. However, the manager placed me on hold to see what my options were to get my car back. I thought to myself, "OPTIONS, why not just tell me the amount?".

The manager came back to the line and said "ma'am due to your lengthy history, you qualify to redeem your vehicle." She told me "congrats" because she does this for a living and she can count on two hands how many times she does approve loan redemption. All I had to do was pay the amount I was past due (Nov & Dec) payment plus repo fees and BOOM I was able to resume my auto loan making monthly payments like normal. I stupidly put myself in that position by NOT making an arrangement handling things on my own.

Moral of the story BUSINESS IS BUSINESS. So to all of you bashing the company, if we do what we supposed to do responsibly I guarantee these negative reviews wouldn't exist. At the end of the day WE signed the contracts!!! Not saying they are the BEST business people because yes they have areas of improvement needed but I am ONLY THREE MONTHS AWAY FROM OWNING MY CADILLAC ESCALADE!!! Finally the dealer called and said it was approved that he was going to pay first payment and we pay him so we did then we asked when will we get paperwork saying when our payment would be. Well he kept saying ''oh not yet. You will get the statement in mail.'' It never came. Well finally I called and they stated our payment was late. They gave me right address but on their mistake they did not put apartment number which they did have so it was their fault we were behind.

Then they wanted insurance. I got liability and faxed to them. They never told me, "no you need full coverage until 3 months." By then they said we owed so much more money so we caught up but they said we still owed like a car payment more because of the insurance. I said to work with us so we can pay it down. They would not. We asked can we defer one payment so it can be caught up. They stated that we needed to be in repossesion in order for them to work with us. How crazy is that. We are being reported late every month because of this which I can't believe that everyone in their office state something different. They are not even on the same page. But, me I'm just finding out that after I paid my last car note in Feb, I all have a balance of 1070. Where this came from I have no idea. When I call 3 different answer from 3 different people. The insurance entry year for 3 years I go through we haven't received the faxes and my loan was slapped with insurance. This is a nightmare. I'm finding out that the months I think I'm ahead by paying 3 payments for the next three months all gave me late fees because they aimed it to the month I paid. Mind you my loan bill that I would get would say 0 balance due. So I asked them what is the 1070.00 for - they said late fees and insurance lapse.

Ok they take my insurance payment right off of payroll and my insurance person sent them 9 times stating I have never had a lapse in insurance. But, of course they haven't got it. But the real kicker is I asked the guy, "Ok well how much is my late fee." I'm thinking like 30 or 40 due to 845.00 of it them saying is late fees. He says 17.48. Ok, divide that into 845. Ummmm, hello my loan was for only 32 months I tell him. He hung up in my face.

Idk, who to talk or to ask about this. I haven't paid them anything and I'm afraid to go outside and my car be gone. What do I do? Help please. Anyone who can help me please email me. **. All these stories I'm reading are what I have been through. Mind you as I'm paying 3 sometimes 4 payments a month last year my car got repossessed, but it was given back and what I paid was for towing. I was pissed because my car should of never been repossess period. Mind you that morning I made a 550 payment. Help please.

I really don't even know where to start with this place. I don't feel the need to post every detail of every awful encounter with this institution, but I do feel the need to warn others of the type of business this place is running. The most noteworthy of terrible experiences and communication with this company was when we went to pay off the loan. We were given the run around and many hoops to pay off and get out of working with this ridiculous scam of a business. After we paid it off, and did not receive the pink slip (title), we called and followed up and they said that it never got "sent to management" to be processed, even though it reflected in the system that it was paid off. I looked at other reviews of this company on other sites and read of others with the exact same problem.

Why is it so hard for them to get things done over there? Perhaps its their archaic system using only fax machines and over the phone payments and sub-par employees. There is really no online log-in? Really?? It's like they WANT to make it hard to pay for the customers to pay their bills on time, or pay off their loan early, or get the title to their car -- almost like they WANT us to struggle, so they can charge fees, or something. Anyway, I STILL don't even have the pink slip--GRRRR. I understand that they cater to those who struggle to find funding to buy a car. And maybe customer service just doesn't matter to them at all since they'll get their business regardless, but I just can't even describe the level of unprofessionalism with this company. The owner/CEOs should be ashamed.

Their employees, first off, sound extremely rude, impatient, unhappy, and have no sense of professionalism. Besides the employees coming off as what I would politely call "unrefined", they are also extremely incompetent. I might call Lobel 3 times in a row, and ask the same question 3 times, and all three representatives will give a different answer. There is no consistency and likely a lack of proper training. Also, it seems that they need managers to pretty much do anything useful -- and the managers are of questionable use as well. Enough about the employees...how about their lack of competence in taking care of what they are responsible for doing. There is no follow-through, no communication, and I literally have to babysit, and triple check to even make sure that they do their job.

Also, their phone systems are ALWAYS having problems -- such a poor, cheap business "image" they put off. You could be on hold for 10 minutes, and the call will drop. You could be talking to someone, after a 30 minute wait, and it will drop your call, and they won't call you back (they say that's policy, btw -- haha) and when you call back again, you'll never find the same person you just spent 10 minutes talking to. I really hope they invest in a better system and customer care policy. Such a disappointment. If there is ANY way you can avoid this company, please do so.

Really ....I just moved and they wanted a typed notarized rental agreement. This is after a $3000 cash down payment on a 8000 Dollar car.. The doc del email kept going on for over a month. I had asked about full coverage insurance on the car. I was told to wait and see until all of my doc would be accepted. They not be able accept the loan and so the car would be returned to dealer. Now they want to charge me back non insurance fees for the time I was told to wait until they were going to approve the loan. Never again will I ever deal with these idiots again ...

I have faithfully made my monthly payment on time over the last two years. I finally have my Principal Balance on the truck payment down to $5,000.00 and would like to just Pay off the balance so I won't have to pay out so much interest in my last year of the loan. My Principal Balance is $5400.00 but when I request a Payoff Amount from Lobel, they are quoting me like $6000.00!! I did a calculation of the projected interest since my last payment and it adds up to about $110.00 so by my math, my payoff should be about $5550.00 (-/+). I called Lobel regarding this b/c I don't want to pay an extra 500 bucks on my payoff. They explained that the remaining balance is attributed to the gap Insurance Policy on the truck. I have a $400 principal balance in the gap... Why are they charging me the whole GAP Principal in a payoff... Isn't that the whole point of paying the balance off... so I'm not on the hook for gap and interest in the last year of the loan?

When I ask for a breakdown of these fees in writing from Lobel, all they are willing to send me is the Payoff amount. They will not break down how the total amount was calculated. They refuse to send me any type explanation of why I am being charged the principal gap balance. All I wanted to do is Pay off the balance of the truck, my interest rate is 22.9%!!! I don't want to pay those high rates and they insist in trying to screw me more with extra fees.

Had to take the first car I picked out back because the car shut off twice, so I didn't want to deal with the waiting so I got another car, so kept up on my payments till I went on FMLA . Mind you I went from $2200 a month to only $1020 a month that's a big drop, was a month behind, talked to a lady on the phone about rolling that payment to the back. She said all I had to do was fax in a request. I must have sent at least 4 different times and they (didn't get it), so 39 days past due ready to make a payment I go outside and my car's gone. On the phone try and ask why they tell me about the days and that they want a full payment plus late fees. Mind you I still gotta pay towing and them also stocking my stuff. Didn't have the money so I just said ** it. Now 7 months later they're taking me to court for the remainder of $2834.68. Ridiculous they add four hundred dollars extra over all don't ever take a loan from these people.

I had my contract with Lobel for about 3 months. During this time I became 2 months behind on my note. After being contacted by Lobel I spoke with a young lady named Pearla whom I was working with to make my account current. Well long story short I told Pearla I was going to call her the next morning 10/08/2013 to give her my credit card info to have the payment directly taken from my account which I was told will reflect immediately and will take me out of collections. I went outside to call her at the time we agreed to and my car was gone. I immediately thought someone stole it because she and I had talked just the evening before regarding the issue.

After calling her several times, I realized that maybe they repossessed my vehicle. I was angry to say the least. I called several more times and no one would talk to me or even give any info. When I asked for a manager I was told that no one could help me and they aren't sure what happened with my account. I went to the dealership which I bought the vehicle from and was told they could not help (this only after he had a lengthy conversation with someone he said was a representative from Lobel). At this point I just wanted to recover my personal items from the car and work on getting the car back later.

Fast forward to the next day. After calling Lobel three times I was finally given to a nice young lady that informed me that I would have to pay the remainder of the balance off on the vehicle to get it back and a court order will be issued to get anything else they may want from me (whatever that means)! I called the repossessions place only to be told that I would have to take a day off from work to go to Santa Rosa to pick up my stuff and then I would have to pay 35 processing fee of MY stuff and then 5/per storage fee! I was outraged and not to mention the guy (Bob) states that they may or may not be there when I get there! It's a hit or miss. Good luck!! I'm beyond angry with Lobel and this process makes me NEVER want to buy another car! From anyone!

As of December 27, 2010, my car was repossessed. I had a verbal agreement on December 23, 2010 with Lobel Financial to pay on December 28, 2010. On the 27th, that night, they popped the lock and took the car. I had the money that night and was going to pay that morning, on the 28th, as agreed on. There was no way I could pay to get it back out. I felt that they went behind their word. So in May of 2011, I spoke with someone named Peter and I told him I have to talk to my husband to see what we can pay monthly.

All of a sudden, we started getting a bill starting for June. I was not working and from my understanding, they were working with me and my husband. Then all of a sudden, on October 8, 2011, a server knocked on my door saying we had a court date from last month. That was not true, we did not receive a letter about any court date and the court was way in Orange County. We did not have any knowledge of any court date and now, I'm not working and my husband is trying to make ends meet.

We have thirty days to comply and I feel that they broke their word from last year. We honestly don't know what to do and we made the mistake of getting a car from them, not knowing they will try to do anything to have us get this car. Now, I don't have a car and in debt. I thought it was illegal to break a chain on a private property. They said they didn't. They went back on their word. Please help. Thank you!

We sent it in again, they finally confirmed receipt, but then said they don't know what we're talking about as far as retroactive application of the credit, but that it would only reduce next month's payment. They refuse to talk to me directly, even though they have records of my husband repeatedly authorizing me on the account. They demanded a faxed letter of authorization, which we sent, but after 24 hours they still haven't processed it, so they still want him on the phone every time I call. There is only one manager, who is always "in a meeting" or "unavailable" and supposedly no one else can help us at this point. The car came from Auto Access, now known as Chargers Auto Sales. I received the vehicle in December 2009 and I was in touch with Lobel Financial, as early as January 2010. I was having problems with the vehicle and I contacted the dealership and Lobel. The dealership promised to repair the problems and some of the issues were corrected, but not all of them. I contacted Lobel and informed, whoever answered the phone, that I was having problems with the vehicle. The Lobel representative told me that there was nothing they could do and try to persuade the car dealership to owner their oral promise.

On or around April/May of 2010, I became homeless. I contacted Lobel and informed them of my living arrangement; however, I still made the car payments. The vehicle continued to give me problems, such as sputtering while I was driving it. The check engine light would constantly come on and there was an eerie creaking sound coming from the tires, every time I turned. I had taken the car to be tuned up, rotated the tires, and bought new and used tires and still the noise continued.

I was late making payments in June, July and August. I had called Lobel and informed them of this and that I would make two car payments in order to catch up. The representative on the other end said that it was fine as long as I communicate with them, we should not have a problem. Well, shortly after that my family, friends, co-workers and references I had listed began to inform me that Lobel was harassing them for the payments. I again contacted Lobel and attempted to explain my living arrangement to them, but to my surprise, this time, I was informed that they would use any information they had in order to recover the monthly payments.

Needless to say, I believe in late October or early November after calling my place of employment, my mom, and any other person associated with me, for three months with harassing messages and threats, a tow truck showed up at my place of employment and repossessed the vehicle. I was in shock because I had just spoken with them and informed them I would make a payment at the office in Kearny Mesa, CA, like I had in the past, as soon as I got paid on that Friday. I had no idea what to do or how to handle the situation; they never gave me any indication that they would take the car back.

When they picked up the car, they broke the window to get inside of the car and pried open the door. My car is severely damaged. During the time of the repossession they broke into my secured apartment complex, broke into my car, got my garage remote and drove down into the garage, and they refused to hand over my garage remote. The “repossessor” also threatened to move me out of my car as I gathered some of my personal belongings. I had to call a police officer because I didn't feel safe.

The damage to my car door and window is enormous. My window will not roll down and my door won't fully close. I also incurred storage fees, repossession fees and administrative fees. The company agreed to a payment arrangement. After I sent the payment, the next day they picked up the car.

After being denied for a deferred payment in December 2009, I was then given info in February 2010 which suggested that I was eligible for a deferred payment simply by faxing a letter to Lobel Financial explaining why a deferred payment was being requested. I called around December 6th and requested a deferred payment because my car was broken into, and the money that normally would be applied towards my car payment was needed to pay for my vehicle's repairs and to pay for items that were stolen from my car (iPod and cell phone). I was told by the rep that I spoke with that because I hadn't made six payments yet (the car was purchased in May 2009), therefore I wasn't eligible for a deferred payment.

I received the necessary info to set up a deferred payment in February 2010; however, I've been struggling to catch up and make the payments on time because I was denied a deferred payment in December 2009 and given the wrong info by Lobel Financial. Had I received the correct info in December, I would have been able to set up a deferred payment and my account would not considered in default. I called Lobel in February 2010 to advise that because I was given the wrong info in December 2009, I would like to request a deferred payment for January 2010 and I will pay the February 2010 payment. I was told to submit a faxed letter regarding my request which I did.

I then begin receiving phone calls at work from Lobel Financial advising that they needed me to make a payment first for my January 2010 before my request for a deferred payment could be approved. This info was not given to me when I called Lobel requesting their fax number so that I could submit a request for a deferred payment. Lobel Financial also called my girlfriend who co-signed for my vehicle and advised her that I needed to pay them $140 by Friday of this week just to set up a deferred payment and they threatened to repossess my car and advised that the claim was in collections. How is it in collections when I just called you last week to advise that a payment has been made? The info they presented to my girlfriend was not info that was given to me when I called them to request a deferred payment.

I do not think it's fair that when I take the initiative to contact Lobel Financial to advise of my struggles that I'm given the wrong info and held responsible for the fact that I was given the wrong info, which ultimately resulted in my car payments being late. I even received a letter from Lobel Financial dated the same week that I sent them a faxed letter request for a deferred payment. They stated that I owed them two consecutive car payments and in their words "in future reference to not let this happen again". No accountability has been taken by them regarding this matter. As far as they are concerned as long as I pay up, my account will be in good standing. That's great, but if I'm calling you to advise that I can't either make the payment or I'm going to be late then I need the appropriate info from your end in order to rectify the situation.

Therefore, I asked them to explain this by providing me with an account breakdown showing all payments and any charges which they may have added to the account.
