Not gonna lie, the whole tax resolution thing can be slow and frustrating at times, but that's more on the IRS side than them. They were always responsive when I had questions. If you're drowning in tax debt and don't know what to do, I'd recommend at least checking them out. Been around since 2005, so they know what they're doing. Give them a call and see if they can help you like they helped me.

The service for payment plan was fine. Reasonable communication, a bit on the pricey side. The actual tax service though was atrocious. Contractors used, not employees. Sporadic and poor communication, FILED THE WRONG YEAR FOR BOTH STATE AND FEDERAL. I was also informed the correction was filed and it wasn't for another 2 months. Without doubt the worst financial services I have ever received. After months, it seems to be resolved with state. A call to apologize was made but no concession for future service was offered when asked, only to give them another chance.

While we do partner with licensed tax professionals, they are still held to the same high standards that we set for any other employee, and, in this instance, we fell short.

We had a pleasant phone call at the beginning of October to discuss your dissatisfaction, where the concessions offered were a different, more experienced preparer, as well as a financial concession for future tax return preparation. The financial concession couldn't be discussed in detail without knowing what the fees may be for future work. A note was added to your file regarding this. Again, our sincere apologies for the trouble, and that you were unsatisfied with our conversation.

I was a loyal client of Larson Tax Relief for years—and I now deeply regret it. Over the last 12 months, I paid them more than $20,000 for tax representation. And what did I get? No resolution. No progress. No communication. And no refund. Let me be very clear: Larson completely dropped the ball, over and over again. By late 2024, communication had already started falling apart. I would go weeks without a response. I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt, assuming work was being done in the background. But I was wrong. Absolutely nothing was happening—except more invoices showing up, demanding more money.
Between January and July 2025, I paid them $5,550. I received nothing in return. My case stalled, I was reassigned reps, and when I finally asked why nothing was moving forward, I got rude, dismissive responses. The worst moment? I told one of their reps that I was the victim of identity theft, and that I couldn’t file my personal taxes because my Social Security number was stolen. She laughed at me. Let that sink in—laughed.
Eventually, I had no choice but to move on and hire another firm. I requested a refund for the 2025 payments based on zero service delivered. On July 25, 2025, Larson replied saying they wouldn’t refund anything. Instead, they referenced internal billing records—as if that erases the months of silence, missed deadlines, and total inaction.
I stayed with Larson far too long because I thought they understood my case and starting over would be too difficult. That misplaced trust cost me thousands of dollars and years of delay. I feel taken advantage of, disrespected, and ignored. They’ll continue to bill you long after they’ve stopped doing anything meaningful for your case. If you ask for accountability, they’ll gaslight you, dodge responsibility, and blame everything on you.
And yes—they’ll probably file a rebuttal to this report filled with more of the same scripted excuses they’ve given others. But don’t take my word for it—do your own research. Read the 1-star reviews on Google. Go to Yelp, ComplaintsBoard, BBB—read the worst-rated reviews, the ones that sound exactly like this one. It’s a pattern. It’s not just me. I only wish I had read those reviews three years ago. It would’ve saved me money, time, and a mountain of stress.
Over the three years we had the privilege of representing Nancy, her recent review reflects a perspective that does not align with the level of service we strive to provide. *Actively negotiating with the IRS to protect her and her business from enforced collections during her three-year engagement.*Providing regular communication to educate her on IRS collection processes and advising on how to best position herself for a favorable resolution.
*Submitting multiple resolution proposals on her behalf.
*Filing appeals as necessary to continue advocating for her.
*Preparing for final negotiations once she qualified for the resolution she specifically requested.

In this case, after carefully examining Nancy’s file and communications, we found no evidence to support the claims stated in her review.

On March 26, 2024, I hired Larson Tax and Randi ** to assist with resolving my past due tax debt. I initially paid them $5,000, followed by additional payments of $3,000 on December 5, 2024, and $1,000 on March 20, 2025—bringing the total amount paid to $9,000. Throughout this time, I was repeatedly told that Larson Tax was in communication with the IRS and working on a solution to place me into an installment agreement. However, when I contacted the IRS directly in May 2025, I was informed that they had not heard from Larson Tax or any representative on my behalf since January 2025. This means that despite collecting thousands of dollars in fees after that date, Larson Tax was not actively working on my case or providing the services promised.
There was no resolution or results provided by Larson Tax at any point. I ultimately had to contact the IRS myself to begin resolving the matter on my own—something I hired Larson Tax specifically to handle. Their lack of action and misrepresentation of their efforts caused unnecessary stress and delay. I feel misled and taken advantage of. They accepted substantial payments under false pretenses and failed to deliver on their commitments. I am requesting a full refund of the $9,000 paid, as the services I was promised were not provided.
In this case, we devoted substantial time and effort to advocating on the client’s behalf, including ongoing communications with the IRS. The assertion that we have not been in direct contact with the IRS since January 2025 is 100% false. As recently as April 25, 2025, we spoke with Revenue Agent ID#100395XXXX, and we have sent the client a full transcript of all communication with the IRS and all the work done. Numerous other inaccuracies in the complaint do not warrant further response. We have already provided the client with all supporting documentation clearly outlining the work completed on their file, on a monthly basis, as is the policy with all of our clients. As with the IRS, we place a strong emphasis on honesty and factual accuracy.

We filed late for the 1st time in our lives due to family sickness. We had high penalties we could not afford. Spoke to three different companies but Larson made us feel confident and at ease. They were strong communicators. Sent us all of the forms that we needed to fill out and talked us through it. They emailed and phoned us. Kept us informed as they applied and got an answer in a few weeks. They saved us a lot of money and did the work for us. Highly recommend them. We are relieved.
