I did my research and this company seemed the best and not a scam. It was rated number one for debt help. They explained how everything was going to go and I feel heard and feel I can come to them with anything. I’m just getting started but I already feel a huge weight off my shoulders.

So far I find it is going great. Five lakes reduced the debt on one of my cards and I have been able to pay it off fully. I still have some other debts which Five lakes is working on resolving.

Five Lakes has always been excellent to inform you of all changes and progress with your journey to pay off your debt. Would highly recommend.

The only problem is they charge 27% based on your total debt and not the negotiated debt. If you owe $40,000 and they get it down to $20,000 you're paying based on the $40,000. Fees are one thing, but you do not see their fees on the Five Lakes Dashboard. They are pros when it comes to talking in the beginning and very nice but make sure you read the contract. I was stupid and didn't. 27% of the negotiated number would be expectable but off the full amount is just greedy.

Just started my journey but so far I feel very confident I have gone down the right path to financial stability.

I was stressing out for years trying to resolve debts accrued during a divorce. I finally dropped my pride and reached out for help. Five Lakes has been making this process as painless and stress free as they possibly could have. I don’t think it gets much easier than this! No more taking collectors calls and haggling with negotiations that usually don’t end in your favor. Five Lakes takes all of that stress away!

Five Lakes has kept their agreement with me to gain resolution offers from 4 creditors. They have accomplished this with 3 and are currently working on the 4th. Two have been paid off. All this in 9 months' time. They handled all creditor letters and phone calls. They have made this process so easy for me as I have not had to fret from fear of collection agencies; I received no communications from any. The only downside for me was that a couple of my "store" credit cards were canceled, even though there was a zero balance on them because my credit score became so low. Actually, this is a good thing as my goal is to operate fully via cash or debit. No more credit cards.

Five Lakes has took the stress off of me with my bills helping me consolidate them. They are always there to answer any questions I have. They are very prompt working with my creditors and letting me know when there is a offer from my creditors. I would highly recommend this company. Thank ya'll so much for helping me!!

Five Lakes will wind up costing you. Not all creditors work with them, even if Five Lakes tells you they work with them "all the time". Multiple accounts of mine did NOT receive a lowered balance, and on top of having to pay the full balance, Five Lakes charged 27% just to set a schedule of payments with the creditor. They are deceitful, and good luck being able to get straight answers when you want to talk to someone about specifics with the money you've deposited and how you would like for it to be disbursed.

Five Lakes has performed what it committed to when I first discussed their programs with me. Their staff has been courteous and well informed when I contacted them. The site and the software and communications basically all work well. One minor suggestion would be to include the dollar amount that has been paid up to that point in time for each outstanding balance.

Five Lakes has helped me negotiate with my credit card companies a lower amount owed (about 1/2) and affordable payment terms to each creditor.

You keep most of the money I pay you monthly. You are paying my creditors total 125.00 a month for the last four months. Where does all the rest of the money go. That's not fair. I'm doing without groceries. Of course you don't want my review. I'm stuck with you for over 3 more years.

They advertise they’re gonna help you. They’re not helping you. They’re charging you 27% of the original debt when most of the time they negotiate the debt down to 50% so you’re actually paying 54% to them in fees. Absolutely horrible situation.

This is a trust the process type deal and it works. The people I talk with in the beginning answered any questions and made me feel safe with their service. They explain in detail what will take place. I don't feel the pressure from the bills I was paying every month but not making any progress on paying the debt off. I am able to save some money while paying towards my debt. My credit score took a hit but I think in the end I can get it back or maybe even better. If I had to do this again I would most definitely use them.

Their implementation and utilization of technology is superb. With emails, a welcome video, and a simple yet comprehensive web site and app, everything is so easy to understand! These tools greatly serve to facilitate communication and to convey updated information bilaterally throughout the process as well. Most importantly, the program is estimated to reduce my regular debt maintenance costs by 2/3, down from $3k to $1k /month.

My enrollment agent was very open and knowledgeable and I did tell him this was my second experience with Five Lakes. Because of my conversations with him I believed that my initial experience I may have misunderstood the over services. I started with 5 lakes, and at first it was fine. Your credit does take a hit, but that's to be expected. I entered the program with 3 accounts. The first one didn't have much on it and was the first to be resolved, so I felt good about it. The 2nd one wasn't negotiated down at all and I ended up paying nearly the entire amount. Two months before that one was finished out, they started getting aggressive with the 3rd card. They were trying to demand I pay more than I even make - like by twice as much.

They helped me out immensely and now I’m saving over $400 a month on my payments and I’ll be paid off in 5-6 years EARLIER than I would’ve been without them. I can't thank them enough for all the help they've given me. I had a piece of mind knowing that I CAN do this with them by my side

From the very first person I spoke with, Celia, then to the law firm’s personnel to the attorney, I was at complete ease for once. Everyone was so kind, understanding and explained everything so clearly. I can’t believe I waited as long as I did to make that call. I’m into great customer service and they are excellent!

When I first signed up and for about the first year they seemed to really be on the ball. They paid off two accounts quite quickly and set up payments for two more. That was two years ago. They have done nothing since. They say that they have contacted others but, I have received no further help. If you send a message asking why they say if you send more money it will be quicker.

John was very kind. Very understanding. Help me understand everything that I didn’t. I would recommend. To anybody who wanted to clear up their finances. I’m so glad I did this instead of filing bankruptcy. It was so easy.

I hired 5 Lakes Law Group to reduce and pay my debt. I followed all instructions and did the attorney call. About a year into my payments, they sent me a letter saying that my account was being closed due to me not doing the attorney call. I called them and told them I did that at the beginning and even gave them the date. They were able to pull it up that it was done and said I must have been canceled by mistake. They even had me sign a form to reinstate my payment plan, but they never reinstated it. Instead, they sent all the money back in my account. I called them and let them know this was supposed to be reinstated and they told me there was a ticket open. I called 3 times with no resolve. Now I'm in debt way over what I can afford and have to sell my house. I would not hire.

From my first call, I immediately felt less stress and felt hope for the first time in years. I thought I could handle my debt on my own, but I never got close. They're extremely thorough and make sure you understand everything. They also let you know you can call anytime with questions. They let you know how to deal with creditor calls, and a number for a creditor to call them directly.

From the time I first spoke with the awesome people at 5 Lakes, I’ve had the feeling that I had made the right choice. They’ve really been solid through this whole process. They answered all my questions and made sure I had multiple ways to contact them if I needed.

Client services communicated well during the process and were very polite and helpful. My issue is the number I was quoted at first consultation to “sell” me the program, ended up costing me close to $25,000 more than I was quoted when I joined. There was no remedy offered and basically, I could have done negotiations myself with my debtors. Yes it saved me a few thousand dollars but for a year’s worth of work and ruining my credit it was not worth doing.

WOULD NEVER DO AGAIN. My credit score has nothing but nose dive over three years. They hassled me into paying more than I was already on my debt, the only gain is that they negotiated some of my debt down, but the bad all outweighs the good.

They waited until the 13th hour to settle several of my accounts, so I ended up paying WAY more per month than they originally offered. Then I had to come up with $3300 to pay another creditor because they did not settle in time. Their customer service is great, but the whole program is complete TRASH. I do NOT recommend using them. Try to settle the accounts yourself!!! You will make out way better.

First, it took a great deal of nerve for me to make the call. However, after my conversation with Brady and Nico, I actually went home feeling as though a burden had been lifted. Over the past few months, I would leave work and do absolutely nothing once I got home. Yesterday was different—I did laundry, prepared my lunch for today, and went to bed feeling lighter. I am looking forward to the future, while also feeling some regret that my finances became such a source of stress.

Their service is bait and switch. You're given an amount to pay each month, but because they take their fees, so very little gets paid. In the meantime, the creditors are not paid, so they are charged off and sold to attorneys for collection. Once it reaches that stage, you're put in a position to either pay a lump sum or increase your monthly payment. If their clients had those funds, they would not need this service. I feel like I may have done better dealing with my creditors on my own.

The informational session was very informative and prepared me well for the attorney talk. No surprises were encountered, and Les and the attorney were more than transparent with answers to any questions I had. They have made the process of approaching and enrolling in debt resolution easy and have taken away the stress and fear of our debt.

Compared to past experiences, they were easy to work with, and it was a simpler approach from a practical point of view, actually helping me and not just making money. I have confidence in them and the program that was developed for me. The Program worked out required monthly deposits over 70% less than what I had been paying to handle the debts. This is significantly less and not a burden for me.

I tried 2 other debt resolution companies. Things changed, kept getting my checking account overdrawn and it was just a timing issue. Hard to get them to work with me for just 1 or 2 day adjustment. I had given them. $5,050. 00. Only about $600 was paid to my 2 settlements they had. The rest was fees. They need to pay mine first. I could have had 1 paid off with $5000.00. Another company was ok, just small. Took 6-8 months to get my first small settlement.

During my debt consolidation experience thus far, all parties involved have been extremely knowledgeable and transparent. They have answered all my questions and concerns with confidence. They have made sure I have all the knowledge and know where to find answers and make changes.

Think twice about doing this. I took a 12,000 loan off my program which reduced my payments to 32 months at 571.00 a month. I recently dropped my last 2 creditors and the customer service person said my payments go on for 55 months, that's crazy. After my last 2 creditors were dropped, my total balance should be around 10,000. By January, I would have paid over 17,000. Very upset.
