We have had a wonderful relationship with FCM over 10 years. The Get Checking program has provided useful information for our members needing assistance, and the financial education efforts provided by FCM are invaluable to us as a credit union.

Been with this company since July and they still have not got all my credit card company's on an agreement. I have had to call Family Credit and do all the work for them. They say they will call you back but never do. Still waiting for a call back.

I did my research and this company was the fairest around as far as their rates. They have always been quick to respond and thorough in answering any questions I've had. I look forward to completing the program and I am thankful I found them to help me in my time of need.

I have been very impressed with Family Credit Management program. They have been helpful and were able to work out a payment plan with our creditors which has saved us hundreds of dollars in interest already.

I randomly selected this debt reduction program after reading reviews on multiple companies. I was treated with respect from a very courteous representative with my first interaction. This immediately put me at ease and helped make the decision to work with them. They were very informative and did not push me into any hasty decision making process. I was enrolled upon my first contact and utilized the service until I was in a position to pay off my debt. I highly recommend this company for anyone looking for debt relief.

I did not like this program. It helped me little. First they told me that they could consolidate all my debts with lower interest. This sounded great so I signed up. After I got into the program, they discovered that my larger debts were to companies that said I did not qualify for any type of program so Family Debt Management excluded them from the deal. By the time I was told this, I was already behind on these payments. This messed me up. Then, some of the companies that they did consolidate sent me late notices every month to say that they had not been paid on time. This was very stressful to me. Finally, I was able to get a loan to pay off Family Credit Management. I was very relieved to stop getting late notices every month. I am still in debt but at least people aren't contacting me to say I am late every month.

Excellent help for managing debt.

When starting with FCM, I was simply looking for a way to get a handle on my debt. I was not in default and did not have creditors calling me... but I wanted to work toward being debt free. FCM helped work out payment I could afford and put me on a path to actually be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It gives me a sort of peace to see the payment go out each month and know that I am one step closer.

We really appreciate the professionalism and sensitivity of everyone we talked to there. It reflects good management and training programs. Thank you for all your help in getting us debt-free.

My experience with Family Credit Management was perfect. Whenever I called, I received immediate, courteous, thorough responses and follow up. This program helped me get out of debt in 4 years. My accounts were all behind and there was no way I would ever catch up with even the minimum due. Once enrolled in the program, the calls stopped, the interest rate was lowered and I was able to get out debt about 15 years faster than if I had tried to do it myself. I was about to monitor my account and the money you pay monthly is applied to accounts that month.

Really great service. Negotiated a reasonable payment rate with my lenders and helped me pay back way ahead of schedule. Only recommendation is that you monitor more closely when clients are near to paying off accounts and re-adjust amount client is paying so that you don't collect more than you need.

In the last year, I have endured a drastic cut in income. The reps at Family Credit Management have been extremely helpful on a weekly basis in assisting me to stay on the program during my recent financial challenges. Their compassion and willingness to work with my creditors on my behalf and keep me on the program has been a real blessing. I just hope they are not getting tired of making the adjustments to my payment plan that I keep changing.

It was not easy to look directly, realistically, at the debt. But, Family Credit Management made it so much easier. They contacted our creditors for us & helped us to make a plan to pay it all off. Without Family Credit Management, my husband and I would never have been able to pay off our debt. While on the plan, we also learned how to manage our money better and spend purposefully.

I felt like I was in dire straits! I was getting phone calls from creditors multiple times per day not just at home but at work as well! I begged the creditors to work with me and they refused. I was going through a divorce and the bills were piling up and so I called Family Credit Management and within a couple days all the phone calls stopped completely. They cared about me and my situation. They were genuinely concerned about my situation and put me on a plan to be debt free. I am so very thankful for FCM.

The good - most creditors agreed to lower rates while we were in the program, so it became possible to pay it all off. Five years later the debt was gone. Bad - fees were a little high, but probably offset by the lower rates from the credit card companies. Overall - if you are completely overwhelmed with 20+% credit card debt, this program will probably help you a lot. Main assumption is you have income, and your credit rating survives.

FCM was able to work with my creditors to lower my interest rates substantially, allowing my monthly payments to really impact the balance. I made one monthly payment to FCM and they did the rest, allocating to each creditor as necessary.

You are ultimately still responsible for your accounts and it is your responsibility to make sure that all payments are being reflected accurately. I have been with this wonderful group for about 2.5 years now. They were the 3rd place I interviewed. The first two were not acceptable in their fees (each wanting many hundreds to start). Family Credit did not rake me for money and their monthly fee is perfect and well deserved. I am almost out of debt and they did all the negotiating for me with my debtors. In 2010, I had nearly $35,000 in credit card debt. Much of it was at interest rates of nearly 20%. My monthly payments were over $800 and that was barely moving the needle in paying down what I owed.
