Late in 2008, we began a refinancing process with Wells Fargo. We were approved for a set interest rate on a 30-year fixed. In order to lock in this rate, we paid Wells Fargo a $2,000 fee (credit card), a $150.00 application fee and an additional fee to have the house reappraised. CitiMortgage who holds our first mortgage then advised us of an incorrect indexing of our title which we fixed using our title company. CitiMortgage then advised us that we needed to pay a $200.00 subordination fee to them to complete the process. We did this via their subordination department. We learned two weeks later that CitiMortgage had incorrectly applied this subordination fee to our principal. When we learned of this, we asked them to move this fee to where it rightfully belonged - to satisfy the subordination cost.

We called CitiMortgage yesterday (we have spent hundreds of hours on the phone with them) only to learn that they have closed our case. This Friday (2/13), I have learned that we will lose all of our initial deposits with Wells Fargo. You cannot get a hold of anyone at Citibank save a call center in the middle of India with nice enough customer agents who cannot help with our frustration or figuring out this mess. Calls and messages to the subordination department go unanswered. When we call, we are on hold for hours, only to be disconnected and to learn that due to unforeseen circumstances, we cannot take your call at this time. The message system then proceeds to hang up on you. I urge you to try calling their subordination department and getting a live person - you cannot. Their number is 866-795-4978. It has been this way for weeks.

I cannot afford to lose the money I have already paid out simply because CitiMortgage does not seem to know what they are doing. Also, I stand to lose a lot more than just my deposit, application fee and appraisal cost. If I must refinance once again, I may have to lock into a higher interest rate. Also, there is no guarantee that Citibank will ever subordinate our initial mortgage. They should not be allowed to do this.

CitiMortgage has paid the wrong property taxes on my house. I received a letter from the Madison County Tax Assessor stating that my taxes were past due. I called CitiMortgage and was instructed to fax a copy of the statement along with an explanation of the problem and it would be resolved. I received another statement from the Tax Assessor stating that my house was going to be sold for past taxes in a few weeks if this matter was not resolved. I again phoned CitiMortgage and was instructed to again fax a copy of the statement along with an explanation. I would then be contacted within 2 days and the problem will be handled in 10 days. I will be contacting a law firm tomorrow to prepare to open a court case in case this issue is not resolved and I lose my house.

I have been trying to clear up a matter of a missing payment since April. The harassment by automatic dialing calls has become unbearable and CitiMortgage said they will not stop until my account is current. I have invested numerous long distance telephone charges, have written many letters to both CitiMortgage and CitiFinancial and have invested a lot of time.

The last communication was the fourth three-way telephone conversation with CitiFinancial, Wells Fargo and I. CitiFinancial claimed they received check ** but did not know how to apply it, so they issued a check back to Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo said they need to have a copy of the cleared check in order to determine what happened to it. I've requested this check via letter since then and have yet to receive a copy of the cleared check CitiFinancial issued to Wells Fargo! Instead, I get a prefabricated letter stating the payment has been applied.

A copy of my loan history shows from 5/505/08 through 5/07/08 there were payments applied and payments reversed! Why? Is the accounting correct? I've requested a thorough reconciliation of those transactions but to no avail. From numerous conversations with the Customer Service Dept., I believe my May payment (check ** dated 5/01/2008) was applied to the open April amount due. Each payment since then has been applied as such. My records indicate the April payment is still missing.

A class action suit against CitiMortgage is necessary to motivate this company to properly address and resolve loan modification requests. This company is blatantly ignoring requests for assistance by playing a shell game that customers cannot possibly overcome. We have spent more than 4 months trying to communicate with Loss Mitigation at CitiMortgage (specifically the Phoenix, AZ office). Although I know they received a completed workout package (per USPS and CitiMortgage’s Bankruptcy Department), the Loss Mitigation department told me that they never received it.

They lied. Jonathan ** and his super, Ivy ** are the persons responsible. They told us that they never received the workout package, and they have repeatedly failed to return phone calls. Additionally, both Jonathan and Ivy were both highly condescending and inflexible in their approach towards our request for a loan modification on our second mortgage. (Background: Our Chapter 7 bankruptcy was discharged in 7/08 and we did not reaffirm our loan with CitiMortgage. We only reaffirmed our first with Chase. We represented ourselves.) I have also left a VM with a manager described as being in the Inactive Bankruptcy Loss Mitigation department, Michael ** and have yet to hear from him. What a surprise.

CitiMortgage is playing a shell game. They confuse customers by routing their calls through various departments that may or may not know what is going on. Every department (CS, BK, and Loss Mitigation) reacts differently to the same questions, with little consistency between them. Some staff can see the details on our account, and others claim that they have no information and must transfer me to yet another department. You make a request (such as asking for a copy of my note/deed of trust) and they request falls into the ether. This confusion leads to inordinate delays in the workout process, buying CitiMortgage more time to move forward with foreclosure. We are currently 5 months in arrears and received a default notice in January.

I have since found out that our loan has gone through the pre-foreclosure process (per ** of Loss Mitigation in Phoenix, **), and that the pre-foreclosure was closed on 1/24/2009. At that point, she said that the loan was going into "charged off recovery" and that no foreclosure would occur because the pre-foreclosure process determined that there is no equity (duh) and that foreclosure would not occur as a result. So I went about trying to confirm this information with the Bankruptcy Department since Loss Mitigation is unwilling to communicate with me.

I have yet to find anyone who will validate this information. For instance, the BK department can see that the pre-foreclosure process closed on 1/24/09, but they cannot see any information regarding the supposed pending charge off. I know what a charge off is, but I cannot get anyone at CitiMortgage (besides ** in Loss Mitigation in Phoenix, who I cannot get hold of again) to talk to me in detail regarding a possible charge off. Now, when I call Loss Mitigation, the phone system rolls me over to a CitiMortgage Loss Mitigation office in Missouri.

Where do we go from here? I will do anything in my power to assist in litigation against CitiMortgage. I have already brought one class action lawsuit against another bank for failure to pay back wages to IT employees who were converted to hourly after being employed as salaried employees. That suit was settled for $3,000,000, and I personally recovered over $14,000 in back pay. Again, I will do whatever I can to assist in a class action lawsuit against CitiMortgage. I cannot work because I am disabled, so I have plenty of time to devote to this process. Is there an attorney out there that is up to the challenge?

The foreclosure process could begin at any time, and I understand that the holder of the first (Chase) will simply capitulate and allow the foreclosure to occur. This seems really short-sighted and unnecessary. We are having some issues with our first (e.g., we need to split our payments over the month), but we are not in default. I could go into the emotional distress issues, but I doubt this would be a cause of action. But I can definitely document the medical problems that have been exacerbated by the behavior of CitiMortgage staff.

My husband lost his job so we wanted to refinance our first and second mortgage together. It took two weeks to get a hold of someone to start the refinancing process. Once we did, we were told that we could be helped. My husband spoke to them and was told it would cost $450 to lock in the interest rate. She asked him if he had a visa to put it on. They sent out an appraiser and we were told after I called twice that we could not refinance them together. I asked them if we could get the $450 refunded back to us. Rosa told us no and that the loan officer told us it was not refundable. We are in need here. My husband does not remember the loan officer telling him that it was non refundable and how would Rosa know anyway? We have been with CitiMortgage for years and been loyal to our payments. We did not get the loan and they didn't give us our money back. What did they do with the money? I believe this is unfair and unethical.

I have spoken with managers who all tell me that this was an error and has been fixed! I am told that I will receive a letter stating the correction and it never came! What I keep getting is a threat to accelerate my loan at the end of this month, Feb. 09! I've paid this mortgage on time via auto pay since its inception. Citibank is holding my funds, charging me late fees and applying my monthly payments to this erroneous escrow! They are aware of the problem and have done nothing to fix it. They do not call back, do not fix it and do not send papers stating it's fixed. I've owned homes for over 30 years and my wife is an ex-mortgage broker. We are at our wits' end as we can't get this fix! Help!

My home was flooded during Hurricane Ike. I was required to forward insurance funds received to my mortgage company's insurance claims department. I have had nothing but trouble and delay in receiving funds from them. Receiving the first draw took over a month due to an error in processing on their part. Receiving the second draw has taken over two weeks, and counting. I call nearly every day to ensure my paperwork is being processed; and without fail, I usually discover some error on their part that causes delay. The reconstruction of my home is being delayed due to waiting for funds. My family of four is paying both rent and mortgage right now and any delay results in additional expense on our part.

And ** also. Both are not good service of CS or rep. I got a letter saying I owed over $5,000 approx. I told them I mailed $3,000 to PHH Mortgage already while PHH Mortgage sold to CitiMortgage. I don't know why PHH Mortgage gave out my all mortgages papers to CitiMortgage without my permission. All whole payments due are mixed up, increased, added $100 to P&I also and missing cashier checks go through "air in sky" alike. I mailed all over cashier checks to CitiMortgage office to Gaithersburg, MD. Then they said increased owed payments monthly. I had a hard time to get through customer service keeping transferring like forever. I got a rep to talk and I mailed to MD representative each in too many different offices said never get anything mail from me. My God!

I copied all evidences of checks and etc. all over and mailed to Ohio. I went to MD for my friends moving out there; I helped them. At the same time, I stopped by CitiMortgage in Gaithersburg, MD and found out it said out of business and moved to Rockville, MD. No wonder they lost my packages (evidence copies). Then I went to see real supervisor/manager of CitiMortgage and not accepted my checks to pay off, even refused refinance for a low rate. How dare they? Then they wanted foreclosure. I told them I have ready checks to catch up balance dues even with my copies proved that I paid three checks in the past to CitiMortgage, but they don't care and still owed over increased to $6,900.00. They really are very greedy to take innocent victims' sweet homes and ignore family who needs a place to live. They even sent to a lawyer in WI for a foreclosure doing against me and my family.

I told them I have a check to pay off. They refused, not accepted and forced me to pay the full amount of $38,000. Impossibly how can I earn $38,000 per monthly? How rude they are. President Bush grants lots of billions dollars to any mortgages companies. One of CitiMortgage’s also got a grant some millions or billions of dollars from them, and then what do they do with that to keep themselves or what instead not helping homeowners refinance or payment plans. While I was laid off winter seasonal part time, I work tempo summertime. I am on disability SSD earning. I tried to find refinance and lawyer protection. I’m frustrated, worried a lot, stressed and most insomnia. I had to think how to find a way to help "save" my house for my family. Hopefully someone reads this; help me to get best service, advice and email me please. Thank you very much for reading this story.

When we asked back for our loan application money of about 900 dollars, they said they would get back to us. On November 22, 2008, we received a package telling us, "to complete the processing of your mortgage application, the items on the attachments are required in order for us to render a loan decision."

Unfortunately, the Modification department is in Florida and run by complete incompetents. I got stuck with one, ** (one operating brain cell), and her VP, **. We agreed on new terms. The paperwork was sent to me, agreeing to a 4.5% interest rate for principal and interest and a monthly payment of $821.00.

The paperwork was signed by ** and myself. Three days after the paperwork was completed, I get a call. Citi wants a do-over? As apparently, either Ms. ** or Ms. ** can’t do simple math. The payment was wrong. Though I have a confirmed copy of the agreement, they want to void it and charge me $164.00 a month more! Furthermore, there is no guarantee they will not require another do-over, at their whim. After all if one contract is not to their liking, why would the next one be? I am seeing a lawyer about this today. To me this is breach of contract. Watch out whom you deal with at Citi. Most have no idea what they are doing. Tell me. Why are we (taxpayers) bailing this company out of trouble? Consequences: stress, additional payment each month of $164.

We sent in the documents showing the update and the amount increased, and then we got our statement and there was escrow. We called and were told it has been taken care of, throw the letter away.

Next month another escrow payment due. They said that we had not increased the flood insurance and that they escrowed it with their escrow company at $150 a month! My title company tells me that they have at least a dozen applications held up for exactly the same reason, same company. I contacted CitiMortgage for an explanation. I was connected to someone who I could barely understand, who put me on hold at least 6 times and required a maze of personal questions before I could even ask him about the problem.

I asked why there was still a lien showing and no explanation was given. I asked this question at least 4 times! He asked me if I wanted a release sent to me and I told him I already had one. The instructions that CitiMortgage gives for recording the lien release are completely incorrect and would still not release the lien. This is according to my title company.

I recently filed for Chapter 7. My attorney and I signed the reaffirmation agreement per CitiMortgage and returned back to CitiMortgage well before my case was discharged. CitiMortgage offered me a discounted rate on my mortgage. Well, before the filing, I contacted CitiMortgage to follow up on the reaffirmation agreement that my lawyer sent back to them. Upon 10 attempts of follow-up, CitiMortgage stated that they did not receive the reaffirmation agreement. I cannot pay my mortgage online anymore due to this factor. Plus CitiMortgage is not directing my payments (which are never late) to my credit bureaus. I contacted CitiMortgage last week (Friday, January 16th) to inquire about my online service again. They stated that they did not receive the reaffirmation agreement and upon them not receiving this document, they cannot grant me access. I told the representative Lativia, supervisor, that my attorney has sent this form in.

Upon her putting me on hold for about 20 minutes, she indicated that she had done some research and was able to locate the form. I asked her to please process this document as it should have already been in process. I told her I wanted to agree on the same term of discount, as well as making sure CitiMortgage reports this to my 3 credit bureaus. Plus if the discount that they indicated applied, this would have lessened my mortgage payments. To date, I called CitiMortgage again (January 20) to follow up. They indicated that the document is now null and void due to the submission date. This document was submitted on time by my attorney. Please contact me regarding my rights in this matter.

We have tried for four months to come up with a solution and have been met with nothing but hostility and threats. At this writing, the penalty interest is $1,500. That does not include the 9.75% we pay on the mortgage (which they would not even consider a refi). When we established this mortgage, we were also to have an escrow account for insurance and taxes. I began contacting them in November 2007 when I had to take a leave to take care of my mom and my aunt who had both come down with cancer. Both are elderly and had other medical issues, but I was their main caregiver. We made arrangements to extend our December payment. We made all payments up until July 2008 after I had gone back to work. I was current and I was trying to stay on track. Both my mom and aunt's cancer was in remission so kind of taking a breather. I was placed in the hospital on September 29 and remained there for a week and then missed another week at both jobs. We made in a $1,000.00 because that was all we had for that month since I had been out of work.

Like everyone else said, we started receiving almost 5 to 10 calls a day advising that they do not accept partial payments, and that we needed to get the rest of that payment to them immediately. I explained when you are out of work sick, it is hard to do that. They advised my husband had a job. Well husband's check pays lights, water, phone, gas, and groceries, and school kids’ lunches. They did not care about any of this. Well on November 1, 2008, my mom died unexpectedly. That was another blow to my family. Well I was out of work from November 1 to 13. I did not draw a check. I contacted CitiMortgage and asked for the homeowner's assistance program. I made several calls before I finally got Rosie on the 21st of November. They had no record of the previous calls all during the month.

I called back again in December and got Rosie, and she mailed me the packet to provide all the documents to show the 28 weeks out of work and all the other stuff. But in the meantime, I am told that taking care of my mom and aunt was not a good reason to fall behind on my mortgage. It was not planned, just like my mom's death was not planned. I am trying really hard now to save my house due to the lies and the mess they have caused with my mortgage. I admit that my status did change a little bit. I could not think rationally at the time in the midst of all this hurricane drama, so I took the person's name and number to contact her when I returned home.

The more I thought about it and the more I spoke with Faye (CitiMortgage's rep) the better it sounded. I was out of work so I thought this would help us get through this rough patch. So I was granted this moratorium starting in September-February 2009. In the beginning of November, I was contacted by another CitiMortgage rep, Jennifer, and she questioned why I was only paying half of my mortgage for September and October. I told her about the program that I was offered and gave her the information, confirmation number, and who made these arrangements with me. This supervisor came on the phone with guns-a-blazing and told me that CitiMortgage never accepts half payments, that these funds were put into unapplied funds and that she didn't care what the arrangements were and they weren't going to acknowledge it. I was current with my mortgage before this. Now my credit is ruined. I have been transferred from supervisor to supervisor, told that someone will call me back and no one ever does. This has been going on for 2 months. I am drained and exhausted and they want to now put me on a payment plan that is astronomical. I am thinking about seeking legal counsel. They are now showing we are several thousands of $$$$ behind in payments!!! How the H_LL can they get away with this??? Just like everyone else that has written here, some 30 call, a dozen faxes and countless e-mails we are just ignored.... sad, very sad. Maybe the only answer is a class action lawsuit. HELP!!!!!

I made a large payment earlier this year on my mortgage with Citibank that had originally been with ABNO. Which was bought out. I asked that my loan be reamortized to lower the payments. They did a loan modification and charged me $500 added on to my principal to make this simple change. It just seemed like an unreasonable cost to make this change. I was not behind in payments. I have auto debit each month. Is this allowed by law that they can charge so much for a simple change. I was told it was a Freddie Mac loan and they required $500 fee.

CitiMortgage has the worst accounting procedures and customer service of any company on this planet. In 2007, CitiMortgage purchased my mortgage from Irwin Mortgage (IN). At that time, there was a dispute with regard to late fees and one improperly applied payment. In 2005, I had undergone surgery for cancer, and was out of work for a while. After a few months, my savings were exhausted and I was only able to make partial payments on my mortgage. By 2006, my mortgage was mostly caught up except for late fees, which I felt were inappropriate under the circumstances. When CitiMortgage purchased my mortgage, I was still negotiating a resolution with Irwin (The law should prevent disputed accounts from being sold).

The problems with CitiMortgage emerged immediately. In the first instance, CitiMortgage never sent me a notice that they had purchased the loan, so I kept sending my payments to the previous mortgage company, which delayed forwarding them for several months. I discovered CitiMortgage had purchased my mortgage only when I got a letter from them alleging that I was in default on my loan. I immediately contacted CitiMortgage and explained the exact nature of the dispute with Irwin Mortgage, etc. No reply, which was to become the standard course of conduct from CitiMortgage.

I specifically asked CitiMortgage to suspend charging me any late fees until such time as the dispute between myself and the other mortgage company was resolved. Again, no reply, except for letters accusing me of not paying on my account, alleging I was in default, etc. At some point, Irwin Mortgage and I settled our dispute and I was issued a check as a refund of ALL late fees I had been charged prior to the sale of my Mortgage to CitiMortgage. Irwin Mortgage did not exactly admit it was wrong, but did state that it should have handled the situation with my medical problem differently. I immediately notified CitiMortgage of the settlement and sent them a copy of the refund check, which I offered to sign over to them if they would reverse all the late fees they had charged me.

It is important for me to point out that for the entire time that CitiMortgage has had my account, I have made a payment every month, on time, for an amount equal to or in excess of the regular monthly payment. CitiMortgage, however, considers my account delinquent (because of the disputed amount it inherited from Irwin Mortgage - since settled), and continues to charge me a late fee every month. In the past two years, I have sent over $32,000 in payments to CitiMortgage, and they refuse to even negotiate over the $1500 in late fees they have charged. Other problems include that the amount of the late fee changes every month, from $40 to as much as $200. Also, my last three payments of $1,100 each were never applied to my account, even though the checks have been cashed by CitiMortgage.

In the past two years, I have written more than 130 pages of letters to CitiMortgage, and almost all of them have been ignored. The worst perpetrator at CitiMortgage is a person named ABBIE **. She is generally the only person who responds to my letters. She is located in the Executive Response Unit, not customer service, and she apparently has no authority to make any changes to an account. However, every letter I send, no matter who or what department it is addressed to, ends up on her desk.

CitiMortgage simply refuses to deal with legitimate concerns (as anyone who reads the other posts will see). There is no level of competency and absolutely no level of compassion and no concern about doing the right thing. I am convinced that someone at CitiMortgage has the brains and compassion and authority to look at my situation (as well as others) and say, "Let's do the right thing and make an adjustment." That person, however, must be locked away somewhere and not allowed to have any contact with customers.

I have filed complaints with the BBB, the Office of Thrift Supervision (which states it does not supervise CitiMortgage), the Office of the Comptroller of Currency (which does not respond to complaint letters), to my state and federal Attorneys General (which cannot get involved), and to Senators Amy Klobuchar and Norm Coleman (who did not respond to my letters) and Representative Keith Ellison (who was nice enough to respond but admitted that no government agency has any supervisory powers or control over CitiMortgage).

Currently, my only hope is with a Minnesota Legal Aid lawyer who will meet with me in January. I am preparing a notebook with everything I have accumulated with regard to letters to and from CitiMortgage. If that fails, I will have no choice but to file a lawsuit on my own. I have no money for an attorney, but dammit I know I am right, and I am outraged by CitiMortgage's conduct and they need to be brought down. It is wrong for Citibank to take millions of dollars of my tax money, and then make no effort to help the individuals who are struggling. It is even more aggravating in my case because I AM making my payments; I just refuse to pay a late fee under these circumstances.

I would like to see all CitiMortgage customers rise up - not just the ones in trouble, but even the one current on their mortgage payments - and fight against CitiMortgage's disinterest and rudeness and immorality. Any lawyer or reporter or anyone else interested in this please feel free to contact me.

My husband and I had fallen behind in our mortgage as a result of my losing my job and though I have found employment, I lost approx. six hundred a week in income. We can still make our payments but as I said, we fell behind. We were set up on repayment plan with a new payment from $845 to $1003.05 a month to make up the three payments we were behind. Our original payment was due on the 1st, late after the fifteenth. Our new payment is due on the 20th. We are still charged a late fee and delinquent fees because our payment is after the fifteenth. We are charged other fees. These fees are not specified and CitiMortgage cannot tell me what these fees are. We do not receive a detailed statement since we have been on this repayment plan. A note with our account no; how much we paid, when it was received, and what bank it was drawn from is all the account info we receive.

We cannot make our payment this month and I called to see what could be done. The man I spoke to was very polite and said there were a number of programs that were available to us for help. THE NEXT WOMAN I TALKED TO WAS RUDE AND SAID IF WE MISSED A PAYMENT, WE WOULD BE KICKED OFF THE REPAYMENT PLAN. This seemed to be a reoccurring theme with CitiMortgage that no one knows what is going on. I was charged $319 on my account for bad check in that amount. When I told them I never wrote them a check for that amount, she stated, "Oh, that wasn't your account yet." I received a notice with my account number that I was charged that very same amount for a returned check. I repeatedly have to remind them that I am on an agreement with them how much I owe and when it is due.

This company scares the hell out of me. I think my husband and I are getting scammed. This is how people end up in foreclosure. How in the world do they expect a customer to make up their payments when they keep adding more and more fees? It's like jump this hoop and this one and if you do that, you have come up with this amount and since that one was made after that date that we neglected to tell you about, you have to pay this additional amount and NEXT MONTH WE WILL DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN! Of course, we will send you a vague note at the end of the month. If I ever get out of this mess, I will never deal with CitiMortgage or any of its subsidiaries in any manner.

We refinanced our mortgage about 2 years ago. We had a Priamerica representative talk us into their program with CitiMortgage called Equity builder. This program is supposed to help pay your mortgage off sooner and gives you an additional .25 percent interest a month by paying your mortgage every 14 days. I called CitiMortgage to refinance and was denied. Now we have ran into some financial problems and I called CitiMortgage for help. I was advised that I can apply for a mortgage extension which would give us 30-60 days to figure out what we were going to do and move those payments to the back of the loan. Because I was on the equity builder I had to cancel it, lose my .25 percent discount and wait for my mortgage to become past due. I did just that thinking that the possible 2 months would be more to our advantage than the .25 percent.

Responded to a promotional letter that THEY sent to me via overnight mail which stated for a $250 processing fee I could switch my APR loan to a FIXED. This would save me approximately $100 a month in payments. After faxing and sending all of the required forms which included Tax returns, proof of income, etc, over a 2-month period, they Denied the loan stating, "We do not grant credit under the terms and condition you have requested." I never asked for any terms or conditions. They processed it as a 30-year fixed which is what I responded to. Makes no sense to deny it if I am already faithfully making payments that are $100 higher versus restructuring the loan to a fixed that would have meant a $100 less payment.

In September and October, payments were made in amount of $1938.18, our error. This resulted in an under payment of $396.04. On Nov. 11, we received a letter saying that the account was past due in the amount of $4275.34, which included a late charge of $101.86 and delinquency expenses of $99.04 In other words, Citi didn't acknowledge receipt of either of the two partial payments. It just generated a very ham-handed letter accusing us of being two months delinquent.

We called and settled the amount in arrears $396.04 plus the various fees. Why anyone would trust CitiMortgage to keep accurate records is beyond me. In addition, my name has always been on the mortgage note (originally held by ABN AMRO). Inexplicably, it recently disappeared from Citi's records. I am no longer listed on the mortgage. Rather than admit the mistake or research the error, they refuse to talk to me without my husband's authorization.

Taking matters into my own hands, I sent proof that my name was on the mortgage and further advised them that the mortgage was transferred to the family trust. NOW I HAVE THEIR ATTENTION. They are of course still only willing to correspond with my husband in the matter, until he signs the letter of authorization. Citi insists upon being named a Trustee of the Trust. Given Citi's ineptitude in keeping records, I would have to be crazy to name it a trustee. We are at a standoff.

Both of my parents passed away recently and I continued to make payments on their home. I sent in paperwork that my parents had both passed and along with their death certificates. That's when the payments started coming back. I contacted CitiMortgage that had bought a pool of mortgage back securities from AMRO in July of 2007. My parents being one of the mortgages.

I spoke with a LeeAnn ** about the payments and before I knew it they foreclosed on the property. To make a long story short, LeeAnn and I had spoken before the suit and she told me we could work out a "Workable Solution" just send the paperwork. I had put the house up for sale and sent the real estate contract to her, all within the time limit they had given me. LeeAnn ** would call and tell me she received everything and then a letter would arrive telling me the very things we had spoken of, but saying that the documents hadn't been received yet, this letter from Carol **.

It was endless calls to her every day just to find out that the paperwork I was sending her was not making it to Carol **. I never knew that it was suppose to go to this Carol who was another person in the same Loss and Mitigation Dept. This was a cycle of "send me the paperwork" and then one from the other person, "I didn't receive it". Until I received a summons of the Foreclosure. That same week, I received a letter stating that I hadn't sent in the paperwork in the required time limit and therefore they were foreclosing. Right before that letter, I received a letter saying to sign for a Short Sale... I was trying to sell it, why would I sign a Short Sale Agreement?

I feel that they played me along and because they had the note they could foreclose. I offered to make the payments since I had them returned, but they said I wasn't the persons on the note and they were deceased so they returned them. I explained I was their daughter with a interest in the property and they said nothing. The communication stopped, by them and never would their attorney try to work anything out. We have been in court since August 2008. I found that they don't even have the mortgage note, the mortgage never was recorded under our state law, in the county clerk's office and hadn't since it was transferred back in 1995. It had been sold five times. Therefore I claimed they don't have a legal stand since they can't prove that they hold the mortgage. They produced a Loss Note of a mortgage stating they are successor in interest by merger but they didn't even write that correctly because they don't know the real succession of mergers that the mortgage actually has.

I am acting Pro Se because an attorney for this type of action is at $15,000. If I had that I would pay the note off. The point is that CitiMortgage plays games and get away with it. This is the same type of mortgage back securities that have cause the troubles the banks are in now. They don't care if people keep their house and they are not willing to work with those people either. They commit fraud and get away with it because the lawmakers won't penalize them for what sloppy paperwork that they do. The law lets them transfer, merge and sell those mortgages without the proof that they actually have the real mortgage.

I will continue to fight this CitiMortgage and let everyone know, "DON'T JUST WALK AWAY... FIGHT FOR YOUR HOMES, THAT'S WHAT THEY WANT." Most people just move and don't contest the foreclosure suits...FIGHT! I don't know what will happen. I filed to go in front of an independent Mediation/Settlement Facilitator so we can overcome the bureaucratic problems that CitiMortgage created. They sued the estate and they are the very reason we went to court. They caused the default when they refused the payments.

The law only rewards this type of banking behavior and the people suffer because of this. To me, the courts should go over all foreclosures with a fine toothbrush and make sure they have followed the banking laws and rules they are suppose to. Because believe when you go to court the lawyer is going to use the State Statutes and Rules but they don't have to follow any of the State Statues and Rules that are required to make a legal stand when they enforce the foreclosure on the note.

In 10-2004, my homeowners insurance lapsed, and I received notice that Citicorp had acquired homeowners mortgage for me from 10-15-2004 to 10-15-2005, and then again from 2005 to 2006, in the premium amount of $528.00 for each year. According to my documents, my mortgage was finished on 10-08-2008. Citicorp says it was finished on 09-08-2008. All I believe I owe is the two payments of $528.00 for the two years homeowners insurance. One of which I made on 11-08-2008. I believe I owe one more payment of $528.00, which I will pay on 12-08-2008. If my mortgage was finished in September as Citi says, and not in October as I believe, then I have even made an extra $547.34 mortgage payment that I would like returned.

CitiMortgage has attached an additional $2,282.39 stating this was a real estate tax advance. This is untrue. I sent them the receipts showing that my real estate taxes was paid by me. Furthermore, my real estate taxes are only $224.78 per year up until 2003 when they went up to $240.65, and then up again in 2008 to $259.16. The amount they claim to have paid would mean that they were paying well before this mortgage started. Citimortgage raised the escrow portion of my payment by 327% from $170/month to $726/month. I contacted them multiple times about this and they continually tried to justify this, but would not accept my information that the mid-year payment they were basing the annual taxes on, was not correct. It was a one time payment, and was not how much I was actually paying, but they would not look into this. I contacted the Marion County Treasurer to verify this information and they were very helpful. They informed me that they had received numerous complaints and calls about Citimortgage and that they were calculating the escrow payments wrong and said to have Citimortgage contact them to verify this.

I have called Citimortgage at last 5 times on this issue, then I sent them a letter with all the necessary details to fix this on 9/7/08. In response, dated 9/16/08, I received a 1 line answer stating Our research has found that the tax lines for your escrow account are set up with adequate amounts based upon projected taxes due. That's it...no details, no phone call. Just a 1 line answer. I then responded with another letter on 9/22/08, which I listed as a Formal Complaint in bold, underlined words at the top of the letter, demanding a detailed answer about what research they have done and again requested that they call me immediately. It's now 11/2/08 and I have yet to receive a response.

Citimortgage has been impossible to reach about this issue because this complaint had to be sent to their Tax Department. But nobody will give a number to reach anyone in this group. In the response letter I received, it just says Tax Department, with no individual's name or contact information. I am absolutely sure that they are wrong with this information and have raised my monthly mortgage payment from $806.33/month to $1362.16/month and I'm sure, I'm not the only one who they are doing this to, based on the confusion with the Marion County property taxes. They have put me under financial pressure by raising my mortgage by such a significant amount and they refuse to respond appropriately. I will be sending a third complaint letter today and I have also contacted the Indiana Attorney General. I see many complaints about the same thing on this site, so I'm obviously not alone.

Having no recourse we paid for the assessment and waited to hear that our PMI was being dropped.

After no contact in the time specified we contacted them and were assured that everything was in order. We contacted them weekly thereafter and received the same assurance. We finally spoke to a supervisor who informed us, no they had never received the assessment from the assessment company. When my wife told him of our four previous phone calls, we were somewhat stunned that all of the notes left by the phone representatives were either incomplete, inaccurate or possibly just lies made up to get us off the phone.

Like many of the others complaints I have read about this company, our mortgage was bought by them. I certainly would never do business with this company willingly as they have exceeded even the worst service I've seen from the cable and phone companies. As with most of the other complaints, CitiMortgage took over my mortgage from LaSalle Bank in 2007. In 2008 I decided to pay off my mortgage because even with the loss of the deduction, etc., it was better for me financially than staying in the stock market. In early 2008 I sent $175,000.00 to CitiMortgage. I made my payments for the next two months. Then about 2 weeks before my payment was due, I sent them another $14,000.00 payment, bringing my balance owed to $895.00. So I did not make my next payment (which was about $2,400.00). When I received my bill showing my balance owed of $895.00, there was also a late charge on it! I thought I could straighten it out by calling customer service, but no, they could not seem to understand the concept of being about 7 years EARLY with my payment.

So I wrote to the General Counsel for Citigroup, who has ignored my correspondence. That was when I started receiving calls at my office and my home, telling me my payments were late. Then I got a letter saying I was two months late and the house may go into foreclosure. At that point, I tried calling the bank again. This time I explained to them that I had a payoff sheet, showing the total owed as of Nov. 1 was about $1,050.00, so how could I possibly be late. The man I spoke to was completely obnoxious. He kept saying that just because I owed less than a payment, and had a payoff due three weeks hence, that did not mean my payment was not late! So I wrote again to the general counsel. Who again ignored me. Not only have the calls continued, but today I got another letter that they are seriously concerned about my late payment! When I went online to try to make the final payment just to get them off me, I was told the site was unavailable.

When I refinanced in June 2007, Citimortgage took over my loan from Countrywide and was supposed to be taking enough to put into an escrow account. However, in August 2008, they contacted me to tell me that there was nothing in escrow, and they would have to raise my payment an additional $400 month. My taxes only went up $1000 from the previous year. I asked them why it took them over one year to realize the problem and correct when I now would have to make up the difference plus an additional 10% which they now require. My mortgage payment is now $1745 per month. It is making it almost impossible to pay some other necessary bills.

I have dealt with two mortgage companies prior to my mortgage being bought by CitiMortgage (a sad day in hell). Ever since I have been with Citi I have had to pay at the very least 1000.00 additional per year for an escrow shortage. I have never had to do so with other mortgage companies. When you ask for an explanation you will get a different one from each Customer Service Rep you speak with. I think there is something unethical about their practices. In July of this year I spoke with two reps who said I would get a refund this year (which would be the first) of about $69.99. Then I received a shortage notice for $1244.00. I know that their Customer Service People as well as their Account Managers are the worst I have ever dealt with but something is very wrong.

Last month, they started calling me on the 5th of the month. My payment is due by the first. I think this is harassment. They call everyday at all times of day. I made the payment for last month and paid the late fee. They started calling me again this month. I have until the 16th to pay without a late charge being assessed. The way my unemployment checks come, I can only pay them after I have been paid.

In early June I received a letter from CitiMorgage that they needed copies of my flood insurance policy. My HOA carries a flood/hazard policy for me and I also have a separate policy I bought myself. I called the insurance company and requested my policies be faxed to CitiMortgage. A week later I got another letter from CitiMortgage stating they were buying insurance for my property. I called Cindy ** and was assured that if I fax the documents to her now they would cancel the new policy they had taken out on my property. I faxed the HOA policies and she canceled my additional policy.

On 7-7-08, I received another letter from CitiMortgage with a copy of an insurance policy they had bought for my property. I called and spoke with Cherry **, and faxed her all my policies over again. She told me that it would be a few days to clear up the matter because they do not get their faxes directly. She told me they needed a copy of the policy I bought on my own. I explained to her that she pays that policy through my escrow account and should have a copy of the policy. I was told she does not handle escrow and I would need to talk to them.

Needless to say the policy they were in charge of paying through my escrow account had not been paid. They had paid it the year before but all of a sudden had no idea who my policy was through. I called the insurance company who told me not to pay the policy on my own; I could be fined late fees. I then called CitiMortgage and spoke with Constance ** who was mailing out a check the next day 8-1-08 for the policy. She told me she was going to clear up the other missing policies which they still showed not receiving.

The insurance company did not receive the check and process it until the 25th of August. The policy had been canceled because it was over 90 days old. Instead of the insurance company calling me or CitiMortgage they just held on to the check. In the meantime, I had received more letters from CitiMortgage. On August 5th, they sent me a flood insurance acknowledgement letter. August 9th they sent me a notice of flood insurance coverage requirement. Spoke to William on 8-26, Herish on 9-11 and Jack on 9-11. I have spoken to more people who told me the problem had been fixed. It is still not fixed. Now I am trying to cancel my escrow account. Good luck to me.

We started getting calls from Citi Mortgage in July, they would ask us if we had made a decision on our mortgage and we would tell them that we are all set with our mortgage thinking it was a sales call. About the fourth call we asked them to stop calling them as we didn't need a new mortgage.

The representative started asking me questions and I asked him where he got this information, he then told me Citi bought our mortgage. According to them we owed them three months and they were going to start foreclosing on us. The next day we got our bank account information faxed to them showing the money was sent and taken out of our account on time when it was due. Apparently the old bank was holding the money and not transfering it.

After we got that hassle fixed they told us we had to pay three months late fees. We got them to erase the late fees but they are still billing us for one months late fee. We have never been late and now it's on our credit report and they say they will continue to bill us for it till we pay it off

They held my money, they misapplied funds and marked my account late EVERY MONTH for a year. I contacted CitiFinancial and asked them if I could do a bi-weekly plan on my own - their response was yes, there is no penalty for making a bi-weekly payment. My payment history was finally on track.

In July of 2008 our mortgage was transferred to CitiMortgage - WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION. Apparently CitiMortgage does not accept partial payments and was holding my money in a holding account unless I called them and asked them to apply the payment. However, since I didn't know it had even been transferred to CitiMortgage how would I know to contaxt them? The only way I found out about this gigantic disaster was because CitiMortgage started calling my house 10x+ a day (which is ILLEGAL) to tell me my mortgage was late.

I finally got a supervisor at CitiMortgage and spent over an hour on the phone with her. She assured me this was NOT my fault, and that it was most definitely CitiFinancial / CitiMortgage at fault. She told me ALL late fees would be reversed immediately. There is still an outstanding late fee - and they are holding money because it is not enough (after the late fee is taken out of it) to pay my mortgage payment. Their customer service department is TERRIBLE. They are RUDE. They are condescending.

I have bank statement proof of my payments - yet they claim that I made them on different dates. Isn't this ILLEGAL? I am contacting the attorney general's office today. My credit is TRASHED. They have reported my payment late for the last 8 months.

My mortgage was bought out by Citimortgage from ABN-Amro in early 2008. I have always kept my mortgage account current by making bi-weekly payments (i.e. - pay the bill every time I get paid; one partial payment is made approx. 10-15 days before the statement due date and the second is made on or one day after the due date). This has worked for me for years! Citimortgage, however, is very corrupt in their handling of my partial payments even though these monies are made in a timely fashion and received by them (electronically) within 1-3 days of payment.

Citimortgage has repeatedly charged me a late fee (which they have had to waive each time) for my partial payment claiming that they don't know how to apply them; therefore, at least one of my partial payments is unapplied each month and held in a holding account thereby generating a notice of delinquency on my account. Citimortgage commits this fraudulent practice each month even though my electronic payments indicate the name and account number to which the payments are to be applied.

So, why then is Citimortgage misapplying one of my bi-weekly payments each and every month? Citimortgage is doing this because 1) they have a faulty payment receipt system and 2) they want me to pay a one-time $350 fee to an affiliate (a Citimortgage company) who will deduct bi-weekly payments directly from my checking account to pay my mortgage. This is nothing short of EXTORTION! I will not pay a $350 fee to a Citimortgage affiliate to provide me a service that I am providing for myself. There is nothing in my agreement (as it was read to me over the phone in a call that lasted well over an hour) that says that I cannot make an advanced partial payment and a timely partial payment on my account and expect that one of these payments will not be applied to my account!

This is an absolutely deceptive practice that deserves to be challenged. So I will be filing a complaint with the Nevada Attorney General's Office, promptly! I am not seeking any financial reward, mind you. This is strictly a matter of principle, logic, and fairness. Citimortgage ought to be made to pay BIG for having upset all of us and wasted our valuable time!

late charges assessed to my account; lengthy calls to Citimortgage to clear up the mess they've created; and repeated insistence that I pay the $350 to their affiliate so that I can avoid this problem in the future

Nothing is getting reaolved and now I fear I won't be able to pay my new payment due to them raising my payment $600 for their escow. Problems with the escrow started in June 2008 when they finally paid the bill a month late. Due to the lack of trust on my part that they could handle anything correctly I started making calls to get this escrow removed. The insurance agent recieved the payment plus a smaller check came a week later. I figured the extra sent to my homeowners group was there way of getting rid of the excess before closing out the escrow.

Today I found out citimortgage is going to raise my house payment by $600,due to a new escrow estimate. I called explaining that the escrow was supposed to have been removed months ago. Citimortgage claims to have paid my county taxes, but they have not been paid to date. As a result of their supposed tax payment I am in a negative balance and they will not remove escrow. Prior to the so called payment my balance was positive! Additionally I have been informed citimortgage will never remove escrow because they claim the lender fannie mae won't allow it. I have no relationship with fannie mae though. I had escrow included with my originating lender because they said it was merely an option, never a requirement.

In the meantime I am stuck with calls to india trying to get satisfaction. Most times they hang up on me or I get cut off unexpectedly. I have no way of coming up with the extra $600 raise in monthly payment. Citimortgage advised if I only paid the true mortgage cost to them and paid the Insurance and taxes myself locally they would destroy my credit by reporting I am short paying. I really hope this gets picked up by a legal team that can do something. Based on the reports I have read I am not alone in this situation with this company.

Lose my home and put my kids in the street. Ruin my credit if I paid my insurance and tax agencies locally myself and only pay citimortgage my actual payment minus their projected excrow....

Approximately one month ago, I was troubled by calls from Citi Financial (Mortgage Group), Dallas, TX looking for a gentleman named Bobby. Each time Citi Financial called, I told them Bobby did not currently own this phone number and that Citi Financial should stop their repeated harassing calls to me. Citi Financial, however, paid no attention to my pleas and continued to call me looking for Bobby. After continued repeated round-the-clock, distracting and unsolicited calls from Citi Financial trying to reach Bobby, I became very unhappy and called Sprint PCS (Sprint) customer service. At that time, Sprint customer service contacted Sprint technical and the techs were able to block phone calls from commercial organizations. I thought the problem was cured at that point, since I did not receive calls from Citi Financial immediately thereafter.

Recently, however, the calls have begun again. The most recent calls are not coming from outside numbers, however, they are coming from my own cell phone number and are identified as my voicemail. The most recent ones were at 1:46pm and 3:02pm, Monday, August 18, 2008. The caller was Tom of Citi Financial, Dallas, TX and he asked for Bobby (again). How is Citi Financial able to co-op my own voicemail cell phone number to call me at my own cell phone? Both numbers are one in the same. I do not care what Sprint has to do, but I want this activity stopped immediately. I do not want calls from Citi Financial and/or for Bobby. If Sprint cannot contact Citi Financial and get this reprehensible and intrusive collections practice stopped, I will end my service with Sprint.

In addition, I am forwarding a copy of this letter to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission with regard to Sprints inability to stop these calls and also to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission with regard to Citi Financials low-down-and-dirty collections practices. I find the underhanded collection practices of Citi Financial most alarming and a violation of my personal privacy as a Sprint customer. In addition, I find that Sprint apparently cannot stop unsolicited calls from commercial vendors or protect me from wrong-headed collections people that simply co-op my own cell phone number and call me through my voicemail. Last, I was located in Canada for the previous two calls, therefore, I do not expect to be billed international rates for the time intervals for these (and previous) calls.

I am a truck driver and Citi Financial Mortgage has cause me much lost sleep, much anxiety, and many cell phone dollars spent trying to resolve this matter. I am at my wit's end!

Processing of an insurance claim. Due to regulations and current housing market and foreclosure issues your home owners insurance is required to include your mortgage company on claim checks, which I can appreciate. Upon contacting Citimortgage to find out what their policy was regarding endorsing the check (ours was for $ 15,398.32), I was informed that if it was for under $10,000 they would release 100% of the funds to me immediately, however since the check was in excess of $10,000 an initial draw equal to only of the insurance proceeds would be released (1/3 if the check was over $20,000).

Since our claim not initially only covered water damage to our kitchen and ultimately extended to other areas I asked if the check was in smaller increments if they would disburse in full and was advised yes. I then contacted my insurance company and requested that they breakout the checks by area. Recognizing that in order to order cabinets you are required to pay 50% and balance upon delivery, so I was hoping to be able to achieve this by doing so. Cabinets take 6 8 weeks to come in after ordering them. After returning the initial check to my insurance company I received two separate checks, one for $9,000 and the other for $6,398.32.

On July 23rd I forwarded those checks to CitiMortgage. Recognize prior to forwarding the checks to Citimortgage I did contact another representative to find out turn around time. This representative said that I needed to cross out my endorsement and only send with my husband's signature since they would be endorsing the same check and forwarding back to us, for me to then endorse and deposit into my account Upon receipt by Citimortgage I was informed that although the checks were under the $10,000 limit they would be handled as if they were combined, negating the additional 5 days I wasted having them re-cut by the insurance company.

Evidently the initial representative gave me invalid information, even after I clarified what I was doing to ensure she understood and asked her to explain it back to me to ensure we were on the same page, then the subsequent representative was incorrect because the checks did in fact need my endorsement, so we had to wait for Citimortgage to return the checks to us, another delay and one I felt once resolved would be the last.

My issue with Citimortgage, after all the above, once they had our insurance checks correctly endorsed, we had to wait 10 business days for the insurance checks to CLEAR (even though they were from a nationally known insurance company and for amounts under $10,000), then another 5 - 10 business days for them to cut the checks. So essentially they held our funds for over three weeks from the date of receipt of our correctly endorsed checks until we received our initial draw of 50%. My question is, they still have $7,699.16 of our funds which we will receive after the work is complete and they send an inspector to confirm repairs ~ how long after the inspector comes will it take for us to get the balance of our funds due us?

Sounds to me like CitiMortgage is covering their losses by making interest on insurance claims float? Delayed my ability to order my replacement cabinets by three weeks, not to ention I was out of my funds for that time frame.

I previously had my mortgage with ABN AMRO. I had a bankruptcy in March 2007. My house was not to be included, and WAS NOT included. After being notified of the bankruptcy, ABN AMRO did not send a reaffirmation document, which apparently can be part of the process, but is not required by law. My attorney informed me that I could file a Statement of Intent in lieu of the reaffirmation document. I filed the Statement of Intent with the bankruptcy court - that document was accepted by the bankruptcy court/judge as my willing and legal obligation to continue paying my mortgage.

Citimortgage has informed me that they will not accept that document as my agreement to continue paying my mortgage. I have been informed by Citimortgage that I have to get an attorney, re-open my bankruptcy case, have the bankruptcy vacated and then file a reaffirmation document through a new bankruptcy proceeding if I want them to show that I am in good standing regarding my mortgage.

Since October 2002, when I first took the mortgage with ABN AMRO, the mortgage payments have always been an automatic withdrawal from my checking account - no payments were ever missed nor were they ever late. ABN always reported to the credit reporting agencies that my account was in good standing, with no defaults or late payments, even after the bankruptcy discharged.

In September of 2007 ABN AMRO was purchased by Citimortgage. Citimortgage now reports my account as having been in default with ABN AMRO since March of 2007 and also shows that I have made no payments to them since they purchased ABN AMRO. The credit reporting agencies originally were showing that Citimortgage was reporting that I had dumped TWO mortgages in the bankruptcy - ABN and them. I started dealing with Citimortgage over a year ago, trying to get them to correct their report to the agencies - now they are showing that I have a zero balance with them and that I have not made a payment to ABN AMRO or to Citimortgage since March 2007.

They also show that both mortgages were included in the bankruptcy. This is absolutely erroneous - at no time was my mortgage included in the bankruptcy. I have contacted them numerous times, have written letters providing documentation verifying that my payments have always been made, that the mortgage was not included in the bankruptcy, etc. They most recently are showing that I have 0 balance due them, and they have verbally refused to report my payments.

I have filed disputes with all 3 credit reporting agencies, have filed with the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Agency and have filed with our local consumer protection agency. Please call the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Agency. I have been told by this agency that if enough people file a complaint with the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Agency, then the Federal Agency will investigate Citimortgage's business practices.
Please also file with your local agency.

The bank with whom I have my checking account with overdraft protection, and a credit card, has recently lowered my accessible credit limits on both sources, citing recent information from the reporting agencies as the reason. I have recently been turned down for credit to have dental work done. I am needing to apply for credit to have a heat unit replaced in my house and I anticipate that being denied. As the bankruptcy was discharged over a year ago, it is the current information that is affecting my credit standing as it shows I am not making any payments.

I am in the middle of a fight with Citimortgage about deleting my escrow. My mortgage contract, which was sold eventually to Citimortgage, provides that I may apply for a waiver of escrow. There is no provision for any escrow deletion fee in the escrow provisions in the mortgage contract. I wrote to Citimortgage 2 months ago asking for a waiver of escrow. I received a letter setting forth the six criteria for escrow deletion - no fee was mentioned. I satisfied all six criteria except I had not yet signed an escrow deletion agreement.

I called to get the escrow deletion agreement, which the letter directed me to do. I spoke with a customer service rep who told me about the escrow deletion fee of over $500. This was the first I had ever heard of such a fee. When I began to argue with the rep, he disconnected me. I called back and got a female rep, who told me, after I had asked about the fee, that my contract had no such fee. When I later received the escrow deletion agreement, there was an accompanying letter - setting forth the six criteria from the first letter and adding a seventh - the whopping $500 escrow deletion fee.

I then wrote a letter to Citimortgage asking why when I had satisfied the criteria in the first letter I now had to satisfy yet another criteria - payment of an enormous fee - which was not mentioned in my mortgage contract. I received a letter in late July telling me that the fee was because I might default on my insurance or taxes and there are costs associated with trying to get the borrower (me)to pay those taxes and/or insurance. Has anyone else had this problem? The letter from Citimortgage was completely nonresponsive to my letter. I asked why they continue to manufacture new criteria for escrow deletion and why I have to pay more than $500 to get money released from my escrow account.

Their answer did not explain the discrepancy in their letters or in what their own customer service reps said, and it very clearly demonstrated that what they are charging is NOT a fee. A fee is for a service or product. Citimortgage is trying to extort additional security from me to cover the possibility that I may not pay taxes and/or insurance. But, if the concern is that I might default, then the solution is to maintain escrow.

Moreover, Citimortgage has the right, under the terms of the mortgage contract, to reinstate the escrow account in the event of such a default. So, I can only speculate that this fee is simply their way of taking more of my money. Has anyone else had this experience? Any suggestions on how to proceed?

In April 2008 I had back surgery. Employer removed me from salary and put me on hourly pay. I begged my Doctor to release me to work full time and he would only let me work 1/2 days so my salary was cut in half. I called CitiMortgage on June 24th 2008 and explained to Todd in either Collections or Loss Mitigation, my situation. He asked me to provide all of my financial obligations to him over the phone so I did so. He said he would send to his supervisor and I should call back in 1 week. He stated that I needed to mention Home Savers program and that I would qualify since I had a Fannie Mae loan prior to them buying my loan.

I called back on 6/26 and spoke with Sally. She said it was still being processed to call back. I called back on 7/1, spoke to Chardonnay in Loss Mitigation (very rude person). She stated it was still being processed. I asked her if I needed to do anything and she said no and to call back. Called back on 7/8/08 spoke with Anna. She stated a case was opened for me by Naveen C. but could not help me so she transfered me to Patrick in Loss Mitigation. He said I didn't qualify since CitiMortgage did not have my loan long enough. I stated I didn't ask them to buy my loan in the 1st place and mentioned that Todd had told me just the opposite on 6/24. Patrick stated if I was late it would be reported to the Credit Bureu even though Todd said it wouldn't. Patrick said he would mail me out a Workable Solutions packet to submit my financial obligations and salary information and I should receive week of 7/15/08.

I never received packet so I called back on 7/17/08 and spoke with Rohid. He stated I would have to talk to collections. He transfered me to Carlos, who tried his best to intimidate me but it didn't work! Carlos said I didn't qualify for anything since I wasn't past due and that they needed financial obligation and salary information and I explained to him that I would be since I was still only working part time. He said he would mail me out a workable solutions packet and I explained to him that I had already provided my financial information to Todd and he said I couldn't do that and I told him that on 7/8/08, I had called and Anna told me that Naveen C. had opened a case for me. He said he didn't see anything (even though everyone else I spoke to afterwards told me they saw it!) None the less I never received one from him either.

On 7/25 I called back and spoke with LeSandra in Customer Service. I had to explain the entire ordeal again and told her I was supposed to have been mailed a Workable Solutions packet. She conferenced me to Shane in Collections since I had asked to speak with a manager or supervisor. I had to explain to Shane my situation. He stated that he would contact Current Accounts as he saw every time I had called and the replies I was getting from CitiMortgage and he promised he would call me back on 7/26 and he gave me phone# to call him personally even though it was someone else's desk, if I had anymore problems. Shane NEVER called me back so I called the number he gave me and left 2 messages for him to call me on 7/29, NO RETURNED CALL! After receiving a call from Collections about me being late on my payment, I told the girl I was trying to get some help with CitiMortgage and NOT to call me again.

On 7/29, I called Customer Service since I wanted to talk to SOMEONE that could help me. I spoke with Quamer. He transferred me to Loss Mitigation and they were closed. He said he got confused and I hung up. At 7:51 pm on 7/29, I called the number Shane gave me again and asked him to call me on 7/30, NO RETURN CALL! At 7:55pm on 7/29 I called back and spoke with Seikhomen, he transferred me to a Cust. Serv. Supervisor, Catherine. I explained my situation and phone calls not being returned. She transferred me to collections and I spoke with Maddie in collections. I once again explained my situation and she said she was emailing Jim , Loss Mitigation Manager who set next to her. She assured me that Jim would call me and if I hadn't heard from him by 12:00 on Thursday, 7/31 to call back.

I waited as I know they are busy so I called the collections # which is listed on my mortgage statement on 8/6/08 and spoke with Naina. I told her that I was not receiving any phone calls back after being promised I would. She said she would transfer me to collections. I said I had dialed the phone number for collections and she said it was routed to customer service in error. At 6:24pm, I spoke to Holly in collections. I explained AGAIN my situation and she said she would talk to her floor lead, Phillip. Phillip got on the phone and he said he would send my information to the Current But In Trouble department. I asked him if they would just rather me to go into foreclosure and he said that would be bad on my credit. I told him that I would rather have that then to keep getting tossed back and forth from dept to dept with no one returning my calls as promised. He PROMISED me that he would call me back on 8/20/08 and I told him I would believe it when I got the call from him. I did ask for the address for their complaints department as I wanted upper management to know how unacceptable their managers and supervisors act by not returning promised phone calls. He did provide me with the address and I will also be filing a complaint with them as well.

CitiMortgage has made a stressful situation even more stressful. No wonder so many people would rather not make house payments and go into foreclosure than to deal with the stress of CitiMortgage's way of helping out their customers. I have all of my phone conversations documented and will send copies to CitiMortgage and anyone else who would like them. I have just recently started a new job and am now working full time again but I do not see me getting caught up on my house payment or my bills unless CitiMortgage will let me add 3 monthly payments to the end of my mortgage or lower my house payment/intrest so I can still afford to pay utilities, groceries and the gold that runs my vehicle. I also have other bills to pay as well.

All was fine for the first year of my mortgage until July 2008 when I received an escrow analysis stating that we now owe an additionall $300 a month to bring our escrow account back up to good standing. We already pay $592 a month into the account which equals a little over $7000 a year! We pay less than that in property taxes so I do not understand why they need an additional $3600 in the escrow account. I called numerous times and of course was transferred to a representative in India who told me that our property taxes increased to $9,000 a year.....which they did not. I received paperwork stating our correct property tax amount and faxed them over.

Of course they never received my fax. Finally after faxing it several times they stated they did receive the fax, but they still need an additional $300 a month for escrow. They stated we can either mail them $2700 now to bring the escrow account back to good standing or we can pay an additional $300 a month. Why they need to hold that month in escrow is beyond me. I would truly LOVE LOVE LOVE to get away from Citimortgage.

Why our original lender sold out I don't know. It's virtually impossible to get through to anyone who speaks English and actually knows what they're talking about. I do NOT want to pay the additional $300 as I don't think it's necessary based on the calculations I've done, however I'm terrified if I don't they'll put me into collections and damage my excellent credit. We have no money left to pay this every month!

I secured a personal loan, and on July 25, made arrangements with Citimortgage representatives for the electronic transfer of $8,200 from my checking account at Commerce Bank to Citimortage.

To date, no such ACH transfers were attempted by Citimortgage, and they have given me either incorrect, misleading, or no information at all concerning this transfer of funds so that I may save my home from foreclosure. It is nearly impossible to get a representative on the phone, and it has been impossible for me to reach my own account manager, Mr. Bradley, who has never once followed up his phone call to me in which he put me on notice that further action would be taken if my mortgage was not paid to date by month end.

I feel at this point Citimortgage will be initiating foreclosure proceedings against me and my home despite the fact that I made arrangements for my mortgage delinquencies to be paid in full by the end of July. To date, it is in fact Citimortgage that has failed to take the required action to see that the delinquencies have been paid as I have used every option available to me to make restitution to them.

The tag indicated that CIT was paying a personal visit to the house regarding the mortgage delinquency. Please note - my mortgage payment has occured 1 late fee in the 6 years of our loan. I called CIT and they said that they were confirming that the home was not abandoned or burned down. They said they were protecting themselves and their investment. My next billing statement I received a $10.00 charge for their "home visit". Thank God that it was my daughter living there and not random tenants. The poor people would have thought the house was in foreclosure due to the tag on the door!

This month (July, 2008) I received a mortgage statement from CIT reflecting a charge for $267.00 for property taxes that were paid. Note - my taxes are not escrowed!! After waiting for 7 days for a return call, it appears that CIT called our county tax department and inquired of any "delinquent" taxes on our property. CIT was told that there was an outstanding balance of $267 for our taxes, due 7/31/08. CIT took it upon themselves to pay our taxes for us without our authorization! They are increasingly making my life hell for fear of another foreclosure! I'm so tempted to do just that! One thing is certain...they will not receive another mortgage payment earlier than necessary to avoid a late fee!

Since May 2008, I've asked to pay on a Saturday since my paycheck comes in on Friday and my other family members will pay me by that time for their share of the mortgage. Although, Citimortgage said they have put in the request, the system has been withdrawing since Monday and every 2 days apart. I am aware that I have to give 5 days notice to make the change in the automatic withdrawal dates from my account.

However, although I gave them 13 days notice, the system withdrew from my account on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I kept calling them and I was connected to the reps in India. They said no problem and they would put in the next date (of Saturday) to pay the mortgage. I'm still seeing my funds withdrawn and returned on the days before Saturday. When I called again, they said I need 5 days for the change to go in effect so the next payment was already scheduled for __ date. I reminded them that the system is going to keep on withdrawing on the wrong dates every 2 days, causing more late fees and bank draft fees.

In June, one rep told me to do a stop payment on June 21, 2008 for $1281.05 to ensure that the automatic withdrawal will take place on the right date. I paid $25 for the stop payment at my bank. On June 21st, Citimortgage automatically withdrew $1281.06 on June 21st and every 2 days after that till my payday finally paid it. But I was left with $177 in bank fees plus $256.20 in late fees. Citimortgage refunded me only $100. It's now July, and they still haven't gotten my dates corrected. I have to pay the bank fees out of pocket because my other family members already paid their share of the mortgage and it would not be right to impose the fees on them.

Due to their system always pulling out my money on the wrong dates, my bank account has been charged with more bank fees more than my car payment. Although I kept faxing my documents to the Research Department as they promised to pay me back the bank fees and waive the late fees, they did still charge me the late fees and only paid $100. Now that it's July 2008, they owe me $177 plus $52 more. I am at risk of losing my home because they fail to read the multiple notes made by the reps that my actual automatic withdrawal dates are on Saturday, a day after my paycheck is deposited into my bank account.

I received my escrow analysis in early July, 2008. My monthly payment (30 year fixed rate mortgage) was supposed to increase by $175/month. I saw that citimortgage's projected escrow balance as of June 19, 2008 was -$57.69 (negative). When I called into citimortgage's call center, the rep told me that the actual escrow balance on this day was $971+. I asked for a new analysis. After a long time of questions by me and being placed on hold, I was finally told that citimortgage had made a mistake and that they would re-figure my escrow. I was to call back after July 19.

I called back on July 21. I had gone online prior to the call and found out that my escrow had not been changed. Now my escrow balance was nearly $1200. The new call center rep told me that I was to pay the new mortgage payment. I began to ask why I had not received the adjustment promised (she even confirmed to me that it had been promised). She then began to read some prepared statement about escrows. I cut her off and asked her to talk to me and not to read some statement. She told me that I had received a letter explaining the situation. I have yet to receive a letter. She then put me on hold for a few minutes.

When she came back, I was told that I would receive a letter and maybe a phone call by August 4. She would not say the purpose of the letter or call. I mailed to citimortgage (sent to Gaithersburg, Maryland) a letter and spreadsheet showing how off their escrow analysis is and that they should adjust the analysis based upon actual balances instead of a projected figure that is nearly $1000 too low. The escrow statement also had conflicting information from page 1 to page 2.

Oh, and the call center for citimortgage? It's in India. The reps were very difficult to understand. And they had difficulty understanding what I was saying and trying to communicate. They would just apologize and then go back to some scripted responses. I know that local institutions would make any reasonable adjustments if provided with the data that I have compiled. Citimortgage appears to be hiding behind foreign workers who will not escalate issues.

If I pay the total escrow shortage (which they are encouraging), I'll have nearly $3000 in escrow and that is totally not needed. If they don't change my monthly payment amount, they'll only have to change it next year due to an escrow overage. But I'll be out $8400 that will be sitting in the escrow account doing nothing.

When CitiMortgage bought my balloon note, trouble began. They purportedly had no record of my flood insurance (somehow still don't, even after repeated faxes and verifications from Nationwide. They have repeatedly assessed my escrow account large sums for their own (internal insurance company) payment for forced placed flood insurance. This process began several fiscal years back. Each year, I make calls into a system that, for all practical purposes, is a widget. True, I get service representatives who listen and then try to find out what is wrong. Invariably, I am either connected to an escrow analyst.

It once was that I allowed them to connect me to escrow analysis, which amounted to, simply, another forced-choice menu that led nowhere--a hamster-wheel of sorts to dissipate the reason of a rational mind; however, after hours of this, I began insisting upon the service rep staying on the line until a live person, always someone billing themselves as an escrow analyst, was found--this often involves hold times in excess of 20-30 minutes. The algorithm proceeds with the new person running an analysis, giving me the rationale for why the amount due is high. When I address the fact that I HAVE insurance, that they have received the information numerous times, somehow in mid-sentence, the analyst's voice stops and I get the all-too-familiar sound of the phone line disconnect.

Here's the double-insult: they have repeatedly reported me as non-payment to the credit bureau. In reality, my payments are sent automatically from my bank, are cleared through the banking system, but are not applied as payments because each individual payment does not equal CitiMortgage's NEW payment amount based upon the escrow shortage thus established by the internal levy of forced placed insurance. Furthermore, despite my mention to each person I encounter at the rate of once every two minutes, no manner of addressing the credit report impact has ever occurred. There is no need for them to do this because--the line will go dead. Furthermore, this seems to be programatized--I have experienced it too many times for it to not be.

I now believe this must be targeted at the elderly who respond to this kind of thing with bewilderment. The game artificially damages the mortgage holder's credit, particularly badly if it proceeds quietly and in the pernicious manner in which it is designed. It does not take many logical steps to understand the end-game, foreclosure optimization. I feel helpless, abused, disenfranchised of rights, tired, lost--but I will not give up. I have heard of the same fraudulent practice with this company in a slightly different iteration: taxes in the escrow. This is Goliath. I am not good with a sling, but I will not stop until I find someone who is.

My husband and I are planning for retirement in three years. One of our financial goals is to be completely out of debt by the time we retire. In trying to accomplish this I signed up for the CitiMortage BiWeekly payment plan, which is managed by FCN Insurance Agency, a member of CitiGroup. It has been a nightmare! Our payment to CitiMortagae was debited from our account twice last month. I paid the June payment as advised in a letter I received from FNC Insurance Agency. I also received a payment schedule from them for the entire calendar year which did not indicate which week they would first debit my account.

I assumed since I was instructed to pay the June payment that the first collection would be in July. I discovered while out of town when I tried to make a withdrawal from an ATM, that my account was debited for the first withdrawal and my account balance was $0. I still had a hotel bill to pay and transportation to the airport. I immediately called FNCIA and I was connected to a person in India. I explained the situation and asked them to transfer the funds electronically back into my account since it was withdrawn electronically and CitiMortage had already received payment. I was informed that their system doesn't allow for this, which I find incredible because any administrator can overide a computer system.

I explained that I didn't want to do business with them since they were not customer orientated. I was then informed that I would have to write to them to change the agreement and that it would take approximately 14 business days to receive a mailed check. I asked what they were doing with my money of over $2000 for the next couple of weeks. I think I deserved interest! I wrote and now it is 14 business days later. I called FNCIA today to inquire where my payment check was. Once again I spoke to a person in India and their supervisor who informed me that my check had not been sent and would not be sent until Thursday.

Today is Tuesday and I am traveling overseas on Wednesday and will not be home for ten days. I really need that money in my account before I leave. Without it I don't think I will be able to make my next mortage payment on time. In addition, I may still have to pay the $600 fee for signing up for the Bi-Weekly Advantage Program, despite the fact that only one withdrawal was ever made.

An ADVANTAGE it has not been. A company uses my money while I have none and then charges me for it. My advice to everyone is to not sign up for any program that automaticaaly withdraws money from your accounts. CitiMortgage would be wise to not do business with the FNC Insurance Agency. Where has customer service gone?

In May 2008, I was told the escrow account was negative after paying my taxes and that I would need to pay an additional $1,000.00/month payment starting July 1, 2008 to build the account back. I notified CitiMortgage, Inc. that I will pay them the negative amount and would like to pay my taxes and insurance myself in the future. Initially, I was told this is possible and they would provide the paperwork.

After 10 days, I did not receive the paperwork. I called again, CitiMortgage confirmed they received the payment I owed and to bring the escrow account to a $0 balance, but they require to have my account for 12 months to monitor my payment history. Citimortgage, Inc. purchased the previous mortgage lender, ABN AMRO, 6 months earlier. I stated that ABN AMRO had the account for 2 years and that CitiMortgage, Inc would have my account history which is impeccable.

It is now close to the end of June. I was also told that their records indicate that there was a July tax due. I assured them and confirmed with my township that there were no taxes due. I faxed a letter from tax assessor and township stating this. I was told once this was received they would send the paperwork. I was also informed if I send the principle and interest amount minus the additional $1,000.00, that they would send my account into collections and this would hurt my credit rating. I paid the additional amount.

It is now July 10th and I still have not received the paperwork. I requested to talk with a Manager on several occasions and at one point the Manager hung up. I have not received a resolution to this issue and I'm not sure I can afford to pay an extra $1000. in August. Now, I have nothing no money and no release, and she is in debt, having to pay back this money. its just been alot of mental and physcological anguish.

It is very disturbing to read the various complaints regarding disconnected calls while being transfered to multiple departments, lack of resolution, excessive wait time - to name a few, which all mirror my own experience this past week. It all has to do with my flood insurance escrow which Citibank took upon themselves when my mortgage was purchase this past year from ABN AMRO which has caused my monthly payment to increase - even though I already paid FEMA for the policy. This is a nightmare. If you can avoid doing business with CitiMortgage - I would suggest that you do so and seek another lender.

On 3 July 2008 I received a document from Citimortgage claiming that they have conducted a yearly Equity analysis in this analysis they claim that due to errors on their part and their lack of managing my equity properly, my payment of 1195.98 was to go up to 1203.10. Now I know for many folks out there this does not seem much but I am a disable veteran and every penny counts.

So I contacted Citimortgage and requested a justification of why my equity is not paid to the padding level I waited hours and received no less than 6 hangups in the process before an individual from India came online. This individual proceeded to literally read my Equity analysis verbatim, no true explanation of why my payment has gone up nor any explanation at all.

I called the city where I live and they informed me that taxes have not gone up and the limited explanation I received from Citimortgage, neither had my mortgage insurance. So why am I paying for their mistake? I have paid my mortgage promptly with the exception that I was late on a single payment by 8 days due to the government having a problem with my pension. I paid the late fee and all seemed well.

I purchased my home in Nov 2007 under a fixed, low income housing loan sponsored by the State of New Mexico. The agreed terms were 1,195.98 per month for 30 years (minus tax hikes or escrow insurance hikes). How does one's payment go above the stated terms of the contract without good reason? I was never informed of this Escrow Analysis now was I told it could influence my future payments.

I am a disabled veteran with severe mental and physical problems, and having to endure this burden is driving my already fragile mental state to the brink. I am unable to work so my family and I live on a modest pension plus social security. I have no money to afford a good lawyer to resolve this so what am I supposed to do? I signed this contract in good faith and im keeping with the terms, why is Citimortgage failing to meet the terms of the contract?

We refinanced with Provident in early 2008. We got a fixed income with Escrow attached account. We were rolling our Escrow account over from our last mortgage company. They immediately sold us to Citimortgage (Citi). The very first piece of mail I received from Citi was an information packet with their mailing address and the details of our payments. I noticed the payments stated were over $200 short. I called Citi and the representative barely spoke English. I could not understand a word he said and he couldn't understand my questions. He kept putting me on hold and then telling me that the amount was correct. I insisted that it wasn't. I asked him to transfer me to someone who could see the details of my account after he informed me that he only had my personal information and the amount of my next mortgage payment due. He told me he couldn't and gave me a new number to call.

I called the new 800 number and recieved a woman who also didn't speak clear English but who could understand me. I gave her the amount Citi claimed was my mortgage $1400.00 and then the amount I had a contract with Provident for $1650.00. She informed me that they weren't Provident. Yeah, I noticed. I had to explain to her that when one mortgage company buys from another , the contract holds true. Nothing can be changed, it's illegal to do so. My payment was what it was contracted to be for a reason. At this time I inquired about our Escrow account as I didn't see it listed in the information in the packet I received from Citi. She says, "This is a Non- Escrow account." Excuse me? I am once again given another number to call to deal with the Escrow situation.

I get a woman and explain everything with an emphasis on NOT CHANGING LEGAL CONTRACTS. She tells me the only way to fix this, is to fax a written request for an Escrow account to be opened and specify it is for taxes only and not home owners insurance with my last tax bill attached. I fax this information to the Account Inquiries Department. Meanwhile, I send out the first payment of $1400.00 weeks before it is due in the amount Citi claims is correct.

Ten days later I get a letter in the mail from Citi in response to my inquiry to establish an Escrow account. They want me to sign a paper with all the information I already faxed and to send a copy of my last tax bill. I had already provided them with the information but signed the paper anyway and put a note at the bottom that they already had the rest of what they requsted. I included the date, time and number from which my fax originated. Two days later I get my Escrow information packet. It shows my new payment as the correct amount and things look as they did when I left the office of Provident. Except now they want me to dish out $600.00 to bring my Escrow account up to date. I sent them $610.00

Next bill comes in. It shows I owe $3300.00. So, I call up Citi. Again. After nearly 2 hours of playing transfer, dialing new numbers and being put on hold I find out that Citi credited my first payment to Additional Principal. They also have me in the hold for the full $1650.00 amount that they didn't even bill me for in the first place and there for have charged me as late. They are threatening to ding my credit. My credit score is over 700, I am not one to mess around with such things. I am assured that the misapplied amount would be fixed in a weeks time. She then informs me that my next payment is $1850.00. I ask why. She says it's to bring my Escrow account up to date. I inform her that I just sent in over $600.00. She says she knows and it has been credited but is still short. I am irritated, angry and tired by now. I say what ever and I send in the $1850.00.

I get the third bill. This months bill. The $1400.00 is still in the Additional Principal account. They have received but not credited my last payment. I sent it on the 31st but it's not due until the 16th. It is in the Unapplied Funds account. They say I owe them $3300.00 still. The escrow account shows only $610.00 instead of $810.00 as I have paid into it.

So, I call. I get a man who speaks English with a strong accent but we understand eachother. I tell him the whole story. His name is Steve. He assures me that the Additional Principal account will be applied to Principal account where it was meant to be. He applied the Unapplied Funds to my account and said everything will be ready to go by July7th. We'll see. I am getting ready to put in a report with BBB, I am going to write Citi a letter and am looking into a lawyer. I have busted my rear to get my credit from the low 400's up to where it is now. I refuse to let these people take what I have worked so hard for. I have enough problems bieng a disabled Vietnam Veteran with a nervous condition. I'm tired of the unwarranted threatning letters. I told them when this began to send correspondence to my agent not me.

Like many others my mortgage was sold to Citi. After 9 years in our home, the public sewage project was finally under way and my husband I wanted to make multiple improvements to our home. We applied with Citi to acquire a line of credit for the improvements. After a huge run around the line was approved, thank goodness!! The appraisal on my home came in at $180,000 before improvements. All $65,000 of the line were spent on the property. This left us with 2 loans from Citi, Primary mortgage, 15 year with a balance of around $88,000 and this line for $65. I have one project to complete so I filed a re-finance application to roll both payments into one 30 year fixed mortgage and cover the extra $20,000 we needed to finish.

Loan officer Curt Hartman assured me this would not be a problem, I was unsure after the line application headache. I paid my $445 application fee and out came another appraiser. I was sure after all of the improvements the value would go up at the very least stay at $180. To my surprise my appraisal came in at $120,000. $60,000 dollars less than 9 months prior after $65,000 dollars worth of improvements? Our loan request was denied? I know the market is bad but this is down right ridiculous! Both appraisals were done by Citi? I also have a letter from Citi basically stating the $180 was used to secure the line?

Citi says my home is worth $120 but our current debt to them is around $153,000? (Between line and primary) My husband and I don't want 2 mortgage payments, we thought we were being smart by doing improvements after we earned equity in our property? I want a re-finance! I filed the application all the way back in April! Sick over all of it!

Our April payment was applied to the March payment, which was also sent via Western Union. I called spoke to a supervisor about the missing payment was advised to fax over a copy of reciepts front and back. Which I did this.

Come May, another letter stating this payment is now missing. I again faxed in proof of this payment, along with proof of our March payment. June payment is also missing, again I faxed in proof of this payment. All of these payments have been sent via Western Union. Western Union sent me upon my request 2 letters on their letterhead showing proof of payment from March 2008-June 2008. All payments were picked up by Citimortgage.

I just recieved a letter on June 23rd, that if we don't pay the 3 missing payments plus late fees that Citimortgage will begin foreclosure proceedings and we will have to pay for the attorneys fees. I reported them to the BBB and HUD/FHA, and Transunion(we are disputing the flaw now on our credit reports for Citimortgage's failure). I advised all that we do have proof of these payments. I have faxed all of receipts going back to January 2008, payment proof letters from Western Union and my own letters with our account number, name and address. I believe they should not only apply our payments that we sent in to our account, but the late fees, the appaiser fees that they threatened to send out and bill us for, and any other fees that they plan to bill us, pain and suffering too(I have cervical dystonia and I can't sleep because of the pain and stress this is causing me and my family) and an attorney on my behalf to fix this screwup, also a letter of apology and that they fixed all that they screwed up.

I contacted Citimortage to find out about there process for loss mitigation and was told that we could fax in information and it would be reviewed to see if we could receive help. After faxing our information in 5 times and each time being told it was not received we asked what was the problem. We were told that there fax machine might not be working, so we fax to another number, given to us by a Citimortgage collection representative.

We called back to see if the information was received and the Rep. on the phone stated that there are no phone in the department from which we sent our information and he was unable to verify if they received our information. After talking to many people day after day we asked to speak to a supervisor (we have documented the names of most of these people and dates). We were told that we could apply over the phone for a repayment plan. This plan would mean that we paid twice what we owed by the time it was over. We had no other choice at that time and took the plan. It was a yearlong. See, my father is terminally ill and we explained that to the company. I feel that they felt like this would be a great time to take advantage of a person and they were right and did.

At the end of this agreement, we called and asked could we pay 3 days late on the payment. We were told yes. When we attempted to call 3 days later to pay we were told that our repayment plan was cancelled and we had to pay the full amount or we could fall into foreclosure. When asked what the balance of what we owed was they gave us an amount that was 3 times the amount we owed. I asked what happened to all the money we had already paid and they laughed and said oh yea you do have money in reserve that we can apply. We paid all but the late fees from which they stated were not calculated in the repayment agreement. Although we have paid this large amount we are still getting letters that we are behind in our payments. They did not apply the money in reserve to our account. We have called and called. We are now being told that it is under review. I am planning on reporting this to HUD, but I also hope that as a group some law firm is looking at this so that a class action suite can be filed on this company.

My husband and I bought our first home in May 2007 with Citimortgage as our lender. Annual taxes in our city are paid in July. As a result, by July 2007 an entire year of taxes was due plus the months of May and June 2007. Instead Citimortgage paid two full years of taxes in the month of July. This through our escrow account into the negative. The end of August we received a letter from Citimortgage stating that unless the underage was corrected starting in November our mortgage would increase by more than $170.oo per month.

From August until November I called Citimortgage a half a dozen times and each time was given a different excuse for the problem and was told that our account would be flagged, meaning that our account would be looked into. Each time we would also be told to wait a month for the problem to be corrected, which of course it never was. Thus in November our mortgage increased. Finally I wentdown to city hall to discover the problem. Not only had Citimortgage overpaid the taxes, but the excess taxes had been refunded to Citimortgage! So why were we still paying an inflated payment each month when there should be no more underage?

I have contacted Citimortgage in total over a dozen times both by phone and certified letter. Each time no one seems to know whats going on, I receive no useful answers, and I am told to just keep waiting for things to work themselves out. To this day we are still paying the inflated mortgage payment. Also since we bought with 100% financing, and our house has not increased substantially in value in one years time, we cannot refinance with anyone else. We're stuck paying whatever Citimortgage says we need to pay or else forfeit our house.

The emotional toll has been devastating. I feel we were taken advantage of. When we signed the papers, we were told our payment was going to be $1280.00 per month, and that since we have a fixed rate mortgage, we were assured that the only thing that would change our mortgage payment would be if taxes increased (or of course we changed to a new homeowners insurance). Since the payment has gone up so much, we cannot afford it. The only reason we have not yet gone into debt is because we have a very small savings which is dwindling more and more each month. When it's gone, which will be soon, I don't know what we are going to do. There is no where we can turn and no help in sight. We're at the whim of Citimortgage.

They repeatedly harassed me day and night for that payment which I had sent finally I had the Post Office to trace the Payment it was received at one of their establishment, it had not been cashed I had to hire an attorney to receive the money order back. that has been about 2 years now. so i had to mail them another payment.

still my Mortgage is behind. so I decided to pay them by check that does not work they have ran the same check on my account twice this took place in June of 2008 once on June 4 and on June 10. Since Citifiniacial has took over they have had my account where it shows that I am past due. My principal is not going down they way it looks I will never pay for my home. I am not behind on my Mortgage I always pay my bills ahead of time plus I have the documentation to show that I am not behind Citifiniacail still refuse to acknowledge the documentation. today I am fed up I have to yet choose another way to make my mortgage payments Citifiniacial due to their poor business habits. I will no longer mail checks from my checking account to pay my mortgage due to the fact that they are running the same check twice in which they're receiving two payments at once. I will have to spend out more money to purchase cashier check from my bank and pay to certify it with a return receipt. Which is a great inconveniece to me I am 65 years old I should'nt have to go through these kinds of problems that citifiniacial is imposing on me

Citifinancial Mortgage Company, Inc. lost or misapplied my March 2008 payment. After numerous phone calls, most of which were with people who could not speak English very well, I finally got a supervisor named Dave who had me fax in a copy of my cleared check, front and back, to prove that I had indeed made the March payment. He assured me that with that documentation the matter would be cleared up within a week. That was two months ago. After many harassing collections calls (some very late at night) and having to repeat the situation over and over again as well as receiving numerous letters threatening loan acceleration and foreclosure, I finally got another supervisor named Brigitte who assured me that as soon as I faxed in a copy of my cleared check, front and back, she would make sure the proper research department would find the missing payment. Nothing was done! I finally got a customer service rep who was willing to help me and she gave me a direct fax line to the research department (which unbelievably does NOT have any direct phone numbers.

I wrote a long letter explaining the situation as well as provided copies of the first check, front and back, that was lost and since by now I had made another payment that had cleared my bank, I also provided a copy of that one, front and back. Both of these checks have very clear Citifinancial endorsements on the backs. I faxed all of this documentation in to the research department 8 days in a row. I would inundate them with information and surely out of all of those 10 faxes that I sent in, at least ONE of them would arrive on the desk of someone that would be willing to DO THEIR JOB.

But no, they still have not credited my account for the missing payment, even after proving numerous times that it was, and I have a negative comment on my credit report. I have invested hours and hours in phone calls, faxes, letter writing, etc., all to no avail. I am starting to believe that this is a fraudulent scam that Citifinancial is running.

At this point my only option is to hire a lawyer to get this mess resolved. This will end up costing me more than if I just gave in and made the double payment.

They responded with no and then told us that not only could we not make partial payments, but when our payment became 30 days late we had to then make 2 full payments and that they would accept nothing less than that.

We now have a 60 day past due mark on our credit when we could have had one 30 and one 15 day.

My account with Citi Mortgage has fallen to a past due status due to Citi Mortgage's innability to process payments in a timely matter. Everytime I would call I would be placed on hold for hours each month and would be hung up. This created a huge phone bill everymonth with the amount of calling. Each month they would hold payments until after the late fees were assessed and I was never informed. Each month these fees were added until I couldn't keep up.I was told I wouldn't be able to make my regular payment without paying extra and this escalated to where I am now.

Recently I was able to set up a payment arrangment which would allow me to catch up on my mortgage. I called in April to set this up only to have the contract I needed to sign sent off to my soon to be ex husband (who was not awarded the house through the divorce). Citi Mortgage however refused to send me this information instead of him because his name appeared first on the loan. By not recieving this letter, my agreement was canceled and I had to start over. I then called May 15th to setup a new agreement and pay the initial payment required. This payment of $968.05 was to be taken out of two seperate checking accounts to equal the total amount. I was also assured that the information about the accounts would not be stored or given out. The one account used was a friend's who spoke with them and they also guaranteed him it would not be given out.

On the 16th of May, Citi Mortgage took the money ($118.05 plus a $20.00 check fee) out of my friends account but not mine. By the end of the month they still hadnt taken the money ($850 plus another $20 cehck fee) so I called back. In the meantime however, Citi Mortgage sent a letter acknowledging the payment to my ex with my friends full name and bank account number and information! (A violation of his own privacy not to mention we were talked into paying over the phone by the guarantee it would not be saved).

When I called back at the end of May about my account, they said my check had been returned but could not tell me why. I then verified with the bank that the money was still there and Citi Mortgage had not attempted to take it. On May 28th, 2008 I was told by a representative I would have to make another payment that day to cover the $870.00 they hadnt taken out of my account and that I had accrued more late fees because I had not paid them. The representative said he was canceling the first check for $870.00 and we would start over. I made another payment of $870.00 over the phone and was told if it did not clear by the 1st I would have to call back again.

The check once again didn't clear by the 1st and I called back. I was told again that I had to cancel this check and make another payment. The representative once again assured me that this 2nd check would be canceled and I would not have to worry about it. I made a 3rd payment on June 02 for $870.00. On June 3rd, 2008 the 2nd check for $870.00 cleared my account (the check that was supposedly canceled). On June 4th, 2008 the 3rd check for $870 attempted to clear my account and was returned due to insufficient funds leaving me with more fees. I have attempted to fix this over and over again with Citi Mortgage with no luck. I called on June 9th about both payments only to find out neither was actually put towards the money I owed. The $870.00 was placed in an unapplied funds file and until my account is caught up...it will not be applied to my account. Because of this Citi Mortgage requested another payment. After just taking all the money I had left and then causing my bank account to go negative, where would I have more money? I then had to setup another payment arrangment, update the address again, and make a payment of $500.00 to come out on June 28th 2008. They told me they would not reverse any fees, and that they were going to leave the $870.00 in the unapplied funds. This money is money that I paid to pay my mortgage, not sit in the account unused. I asked if it would be possible to have my next payment due in July because of this error so I had time to come up with more (I hadn't figured in them taking a whole payment and not applying it) and they said no. I have to pay $500.00 this month still, and starting in July I have to make payments of $1,499.64. I tried to explain the the representative why I no longer wanted to call in my payments and was told I had to for it to count.

They informed me they will continue giving any information to my ex that he asks for including my new address, bank information and account numbers, phone numbers, and names of anyone else who also pays a payment. After arguing with the representative why this seems unjust, I asked to speak to a supervisor and argued some more. He told me that my ex was also on the account and that was all they cared about. Before I could even finish, the supervisor hung up! How many times should you be hung up on by the company you are sending money too? I spent over and hour on June 9th alone trying to resolve this and the only thing accomplished was updating the address again and writing another check to Citi Mortgage. They however refused to cancel the check on there end and refused to take off fees.

I am sick of dealing with a company that will find every way to charge you with more fees for no reason. They hold payments, they apparently can't train the employees to all know what is company policy, and they deffinately lie. I am sick of hearing one thing then calling back only to hear another story, and I am deffinately tired of being hung up on. I would never recommend them to anyone!

I have to pay $25.00 to my bank to cancel one check they said they would void. I have a $25.00 fee for my account going negative due to there error. My friend has to close his bank account because they gave out his personal information. My friend and I both are now being harrassed by my ex due to Citi Mortgage giving him all of our personal information and where to find either of us. I waste all of my phone minutes on hold and hung up on ending with huge fees at the end of the month.

I have accrued more late fees and penalties (however Citi Mortgage is yet to give me the dollar amount after being asked several times). I also have to pay a $20.00 check fee every time I pay over the phone yet Citi Mortgage refuses to let me pay any other way. My account is falling farther into delinquincy every month due to there errors and pretty soon I may face forclosure. I have my house rented out and a forclosure would leave me at fault for that family to be homeless and leave me liable for a lawsuit.

I contacted them through mail and phone letting them know they were responsible for taxes, home owners insurance and flood insurance. It took them 2 months to realize yes they were to pay. I had to paid half of the insurance in order to keep it from lapsing. They had violated the contract there.

The new trouble has been on going. CitiMortgage has violated the payment agreement in my mortgage contract. My contract states payment is expected on the first, then after 15 days late fees can be applied. I have never been late, nor have I missed a payment. None of my payments have ever gone past the 15 days. Yet Citimortgage will add late fees. They are sending out notices way before my due date telling even before it is time for payment I am late and tacking on the late fee.

CitiMortgage has reported me late to credit companies and this damaged my credit. Now they are telling me I am in default. I have not ever been late nor am I missing any of the payments.

They don't have on record of my online payment and don't even have a record of the confirmation payment number they gave me. They say I am late! Citi is a scam who has resorted to underhanded methods to squeeze extra payments out of their best customers. They should be investigated by the FTC. I intend to file a complaint.

My wife and I have a homestead tax exemption. Assessor says our taxes are $0.00, our home owner's insurance is through a third party and not due until 2009. You would think there was no problem. CITImortgage sends me a letter saying I owe taxes (they have had the assessor's info since June last year) and I also sent it confirmed delivery and they sent me a letter acknowledging receipt of the tax info.

Okay, fast forward to now. I signed up for the supplemental insurance for my dishwasher, clothes washer, hot water heater. CitiMortgage said they were raising my mort. to handle my home owner's insurance. They are so stupid, they cannot determine supplemental insurance from home owner's insurance. The ad I responded to was sent to me from CitiMortgage and if I wanted it, only $29.95 would be added to my payments. I am also on the biweekly program to pay off my house in around 5years. I called to tell them they not only had the taxes messed up but the insurance as well.

They sent me another letter with a different tax amount of .01 cent and said my mortgage was going up to cover the homeowners insurance. i told them again for the seventh time my insurance was covered by State Farm since march 2008. It has never lapsed.

I now have all of my paperwork ready to send to the Office of the Nebraska State Attorney General's Office if citimortgage refuses to correct their records.

They are so arrogant, they will not look at the records. I know they have the supplemental insurance confused with my home owner's insurance. I canceled the supplemental insurance and have confirmation by the mortgage company of that cancellation. They are lost in my tax information and refuse to investigate it. They just send one letter with the same info, over and over.

I called then on May 30th and asked them for the delay of my payment. They said I will have to send them a letter saying that I have canceled my plan and need to get the reimbursement of my overpayment AND then only they will process my request and it will take 10 to 15 business days.

Unfortunately I have been paying interest 25% to Citi credit card for the last 3 weeks. I guess they are very greedy and just wanted to keep our money with them as long as possible and make money out of it. They are very bad and I hate them now and I would never go back to any of their services. I am planning to take this issue very seriously and consult an attorney. Citimortgage failed to send me my monthly billing statement so i had to pay online. I authorized online a single payment of 2660.00 I did this while on the phone with a customer service rep guiding me through it so there would be no mistakes. 3 days later, I went to check my checking account balance and found not only no balance but overdrawn for over 1400.00 It didnt take long to find out why. Citimortgage without my authorization took 2 payments directly out of my account! I contacted customer service there right away (which of course is in India).

I was promised the money would be back in my account not later than 18 May and that Citimortgage would ensure overdraft fees from my bank would be covered by them. 18 may came and went and no funds were returned and no one from Citimortgage contacted me. I called back to customer service and talked to a senior account rep who then told me I had to supply a statement of what occurred in writing including fees that my bank was charging me. I faxed this right away to them which they acknowledged in writing by email. I was then told it would be 3 more days before I would recieve my funds back. I told them this was unnacceptable because I had other bills to pay and the overdraws on my accounts was generating hundreds of dollars of fees from my bank.

I was then told I had to prove that Citimortgage actually took the money from my account and that it cleared. They already knew this as they themselves had already applied the extra money they took to my following months bill. Despite this I went ahead and furnished them a copy of my bank statement which they acknowledged receiving. I then spoke to customer service yet again this time a supervisor in the United States. This time I was told that I would have my funds back within 7 hrs of review of the information That didnt happen. I called back again. This time I was told I would have funds by Thursday by return to my account or an overnight check in the mail. I told the supervisor if paying me back by check a leer would need to accompany the check so my bank would return all the overdraft fees.

The supervisor fought me tooth and nail over this refusing to conceede any wrong doing by Citimortgage and that they could not furnish the facts of the situation to my bank. The supervisor took my phone numbers and promised to call me with the exact data as to which method of return of funds would be used within 24 hours. This call never came and the funds have still not been returned and there has been no further communication Citimortgage. I had to use my State tax return to get funding into my account to head off any further fees. This income was earmarked to pay off a different loan that is now on wait and causing problems there.

Citibank [took] 2660.00 from my checking account without authorization. This overdrew my account by about 1400.00 and wiped out all my funds to pay my other bills with and generated 3-400.00 in banking fees. I have had to curtail all my doings as I dont even have gas money or food money to feed my family as Citimortgage took everything. I have had my flawless credit threatened by this situation as some items have been returned by my bank for non-sufficient funds. Which ones I dont know yet. I have been totally stressed out as I have not been able topay my other bills. I have had to spend countless hours on the phone trying handle this not only with Citimortgage but with my bank as well. Its been very frustrating! It has thrown off my entire bill paying schedule putting me as risk with all my creditors and left me jumping through hoops with all of them.

In January my wife called Citimortgage to find out the amount to pay off our home mortgage. She was given the amount of $4,659.11. We went to the Citi Bank branch on Coit & Beltline in Dallas, TX on January 28,2008 and asked to speak to a bank officer. The lady we talked to said that it was not neccessary to do anything other than give the check to the teller & that the payment would be properly applied. I filled out a ticket and noted on the ticket that this was final payoff for mortgage account #. This was given to a teller and I received a receipt for the payment.

In February we got a bill from Citi Mortgage for the next payment. This bill noted that not all of the payment was applied to the principal, and that a portion of the payment was applied to the escrow. This bill showed an amount due to the principal of $586.68; interest of $3.00 and escrow of $531.86. After receiving this bill I went to a Citi Bank branch on my lunch hour & talked to a bank officer. He was unable to help, but called the 800# for me. I talked to Jessie and was unable to get a satisfactory resolution. He told me that the local branch should not have accepted my payment.

The person my wife talked to should have sent us written instructions for the final payoff. Citi Bank & Citi Mortgage are two different companies and a payment to Citi Bank does not equate to a payment to Citi Mortgage (the receipt that I received when I made the payment in January confirmed that it was received by Citi Mortgage). He then did agree to apply the funds that went to escrow to the mortgage and went on to detail the additional charges which included a $16.00 late fee and addtional interest. This late fee & interest was applied despite my protestation that they had the money.

My monetary loss was not huge, but when you consider the thousands of mortgages it is probably quite significant source of revenue for Citi Mortgage/Citi Bank. They charged me a late fee despite the fact that they had sufficient funds to totally pay off the principal. They charged me $3.00 additional interest on the principal from the first of February to the 12th. That amount seems to be very excessive considering the $531.85 principal amount. By delaying the final payoff a month they were able to keep my escrow for an additional 30 days.

I called them and spoke with Ana to find out what was going on and I was told that my escrow taxed has been raised by the city and my insurance has gone up. Because of the time of day, I knew that I wouldnt reach anyone at Franklin County Treasurers Office.

On April 30, 2008, I called Citi Mortgage again to verify their reasoning for my monthly payment going up. They told me again that it was because of my taxes going up and my insurance raising. They told me that they have assessed the up coming years taxes and that they had to make sure that they were covered. I called Franklin County Treasures Office and spoke with Ron and Shirley to find out what was going on. I explained to them what Citi Mortgage had told me and they said that I was about the 40th person that has called them today about the same situation. They broke down what my taxes were for last year and how much that I have already paid for this year. They also told me what was due for the next six month. It is the same amount that I paid at the beginning of the year. They told me that they have not raised my taxes and that they cant understand where Citi Mortgage is getting their information. I asked if they would fax over a copy of my taxes to Citi Mortgage to let them know and Ron said no problem.

I called my insurance agent, Ann Less, to verify if my insurance has gone up and was told that it has not. I was told that it has not changed since they started it. She said that I was the third person that has called upset about this situation. I explained to her what was going and she told me that if I needed her to fax anything to them to let her know. I thanked her and called Citi Mortgage back and spoke with an Alberto or Roberto.

I told him that I spoke with both Franklin County Treasurers Office and Grange Insurance about the increases and they both assured me that nothing has been raised. I asked him where they got their figures from. After going back and forth with them about this, I was told that they predicted the next years assessment and that they made the adjustments accordingly. I told them that they cant do that without the correct figures FROM the city. Thats illegally charging me and falsifying information. He then asked me what fax number was I given to fax my information and I told him. He verified that was the correct fax number and said that he would check to see if the fax was received. He asked me to give him a call Monday to find out what was going to be done.

I called May 5, 2008 and spoke with a representative; I couldnt make out his name, to find out if the fax that was sent to them May 1, 2008 from Franklin County Treasurers Office and was told it was not received. I told him that I faxed another report over to them this morning with a letter attached and he said that they wouldnt document anything for 3 days. I told him that I waited 3 days to contact them back and asked after the next 3 days are they going to tell me that they didnt receive this fax either?

I asked to speak to a supervisor and he connected me to Stephanie. I explained what was going on and she basically told me the same thing that the others told me that they make assessments depending on the economy. I told her that they cant do that without having actual documentation. I told her that they were making an assumption and charging customers without accurate figures. In other words they are charging customers for something that hasnt happened and is not true. She argued that that wasnt the case and I ended the phone call.

Right now, I can't make that payment. My monthly payment jumped from $1170 to $1432 and I can continue to pay this. I am going to loose my house if I don't get some help. I just got my credit back and this is REALLY going to screw me up. I need help!!!

I received statements for the month of February and March, 2008 showing payments due of $1,232.14 with absolutely NO EXPLANATION as to why my escrow payments increased $42.09 each month. I have been calling Citimortgage since February to try and resolve this situation, with no result. I have continued to send in my principle and interest payments. I have continuously gone through the ringer to speak to a supervisor and still am receiving the run around. I have been told, and still am being told, your escrow analysis came out and your escrows increased.? My response: MY ESCROW ANALYSIS CAME OUT EFFECTIVE APRIL 1, 2008, NOT FEBRUARY and the payments went DOWN, NOT UP. Then I'm told I don't know why, I will put in a research request and the explanation will be sent to you.

Finally after two weeks, I received paperwork in the mail, which shows my escrow payments made over the last 2 years, but NOTHING as to why the payments increased for those 2 particular months. Since my payments are in dispute, I gave written instructions on how to apply my payments, however, Citimortgage took it upon themselves to apply my payments to apply part of my payments towards late charges and put the rest in an unapplied funds account.?

Finally, on 4/28/08 I talked to a supervisor, someone I thought who knew what he was talking about. I finally got an explanation that the extra escrow funds were for some optional insurance. What optional insurance?? I asked. Show me something in writing that I signed and Ill pay the extra money. But you cant because I never signed anything.? The supervisor put me on hold, came back and said he had talked to the escrow department and it was their mistake and I only owed the $1,190.05 for February and March. The insurance had been taken off my account. I asked him to send me something in writing stating such and, of course, he said there was nothing they could provide.

After I asked him AGAIN about owing only the $1,190.05 and he agreed, I then authorized him to take $1,190.05 ONLY of the unapplied funds to be applied towards the February payment. I was not going to pay a late charge, nor the extra $42.09. He stated I did not have to. He even gave me a case number which states exactly what was talked about. Of course, I thought everything was straight, so I viewed my history and Citimortgage applied $1,280.94 of the unapplied funds ($1,232.14 which is the wrong payment, plus a late charge of $48.80). I have called 20 times since 4/29/08 and I am still getting the same run around. NO ONE AT CITIMORTGAGE SEEMS TO KNOW ANYTHING.

Each time I have to go through the whole story to get connected to a supervisor and when I finally get to one Im either put on hold and/or disconnected. This type of customer service is VERY unsatisfactory from a mortgage company. As a result of all this Citimortgage is claiming I'm two months behind in my mortgage payment and has ruined my credit.

I am seeking reimbursement for the overpayment charged for February and March, in the amount of $84.18, plus refund/reimbursement for late charges in the amount of 619.30 for a total amount of $703.48, plus restoration of my credit to good standing.

I was trying to research ways to fight my mortgage company on fees they have charged me and I came across an article written by katie Porter in the New York Times. Tis feeling of relief came over me knowing that atleast 1 other person out there was aware of what was going on. I have been battling my mortgage company for years and I'm stuck in this chapter 13 until it's resolved. I was desperately hoping that you could give me some suggestions as to what I can do about my situation.

My husband became severely injured 6 years ago and then diagnosed with a serious heart condition. This put him out of work. Because his injury was on the job, we had to wait for workers comp to kick in. At that time, I was in my last semester of college and had just given birth to our second child. I was on an unpain maternity leave. We had literally no income. When I tried to explain to my mortgage company they said they needed full payment. They did not offer me any solutions or advise me on loss mitigation. About 8 months later we filed a chapter 13 to save the house. At the confirmation hearing our mortgage company said we owed them almost 2x as much of the arrearage, but I was naive and didn't object because I just wanted it over. After paying into the plan for about 6 months we began receiving notices that we were behind on our payments again and foreclosure proceeding were going to resume.

Our lawyer advised us to do a conditional order in which we agreed to pay $1700 on top of our mortgage payment in order to stop the proceedings. He said we could furnish proof of payments and request reimbursement later. That's exactly what we did. We provide proof of all our payments but never received a reimbursment. Instead, we started to receive foreclosure notices again. THis time, they actually scheduled a sale. We were forced to dismiss our current 13 and refile. This time the mortgage company said we owed them nearly $10,000 in fees on top of the arrearage. I asked our lawyer to file an objection and a court date was set.

The mortgage company said they would agree to a loan modification at a lower interest rate if we cancelled the court date. We reluctantly agreed just so we could get rid of the headache. We filled out the paperwork and then were told we needed a $12,000 down payment towards the fees we owed in order to approve the loan modification. This is something we could not afford. Before we new it the new plan was confirmed (I partly blame our lawyer for this). I requested an account audit and breakdown of fees several times and never received one. I filed complaints with the OCC, the ABA, the attorney general, the BBB, the local senator and never got anywhere. I did however finally receive an account audit but was told that due to privacy laws I was not entitled to a breakdown of attorney fees. I noticed in the account audit that when I made my payments they were put in a holding account. I was then charged a late fee before they applied the payment at a later date. I was also charged numerous monthly inspection fees.

I finally, after years of battling, got a statement regarding fees I have been charged, but they are not broken down well. Here they are: bankruptcy fees:$400, $750, $100 attorney fee:$75 Foreclosure fees:$125, $875, $1900 Foreclosure costs:$ 1415, $335, $155, $85, $50, $480, $500, $350 Inspection Fees:$458.30$89.70 How can they do this? I have contacted my attorneys about this but they want money that I don't have. I've paid them over $3000 already. I really don't think they want to take this on either. Please tell me there is something you can do to help! Maybe you know of a lawyer in my area who would want to take something like this on. I would love to sue them for the distress and anguish they have caused me. I look forward to hearing from you.

My husband is very ill with a bad heart and neurological condition. He has had numerous appts and surgical procedures. We have 4 young children as well. Instead of spending my spare time taking care of their needs, I have to deal with this mess. Phone cal after phone call, complaint after complaint. We can't even get our credit back on track until this is resolved. We are living in a 2 bedroom trailor that is falling apart and we can't afford the repairs or have the opportunity to take out a home equity loan because of all of this. I have had to start taking antidepressants because I am so overwhelmed with worry and grief over this situation. We no longer have the financial freedom we could have.

Our mortgage was sold by a small local bank to CitiMortgage in August of 2003. With the exception of some misapplied payments, the first several years were relatively pain-free. That all changed in February 2008 when we were being courted by another mortgage company to refinance our home loan and home equity line of credit (which is with CitiFinancial). We were about to move our mortgage over when we received a Dare to Compare letter from Citimortgage stating that they would meet or beat any other deal if we stayed with Citimortgage. I called Citimortgage to inquire about this offer.

I spoke with a representative named Gary who informed me that if we stayed with Citimortgage we could modify our loan and lower our monthly payments without having to pay closing costs. He recommended I sign up for the Rate Watch program, and when the interest rate fell to a more favorable level than our current one, we could call the Streamline Direct number at 800-372-1799 and they would help us modify our loan. Because of this information, we decided we would stay with Citimortgage and wait until the rates were favorable and then call to modify our loan instead of doing a refinance with another lender. We checked our Rate Watch information daily and waited for the rates to fall.

Unfortunately, when the rates fell to 5.875 for a 30-year loan and we called the Streamline Direct program, they informed us that the program was temporarily discontinued. The representative could not give me any information on if or when the program would be reinstated and transferred me over to the Refinance Department where I spoke with an extremely rude rep who essentially ended up hanging up the phone on me. I called the 800 service number the following week and spoke to someone else who informed me that we could indeed qualify for a modification and gave me the number for the Modification Department. Unfortunately, when I called the number, their office had already closed for the day. When I called back a few days later, the representative who answered the phone for the Modification Department said that they were no longer doing loan modifications and even if they were, we DIDN'T qualify - WHAT? We have a PERFECT payment history with Citi on both our first mortgage and our home equity line - who does QUALIFY if we don't?

So that is our story as it has played out over the past few months. We are so frustrated by excessive amount of time we have had to waste on hold, only to speak to rude and/or unintelligible service reps who can't provide a consistent answer or any resolution. I believe the practices of Citimortgage and its representatives since February of 2008 were not only misleading, but UNLAWFUL. No matter how big you are, you cannot make promises to people and then not deliver - especially when it comes to financial dealings that can have such a major impact on a family. Avoid these guys at all costs...you will never get a straight answer.

At this point we can make our monthly mortgage payments, but it is getting increasingly difficult with our rising heating costs, transportation costs, grocery bills, and so on. We turned down other offers that would have lowered our monthly payments significantly because of misinformation given to us by CitiMortgage representatives. This has caused us financial hardship due to the fact that we are still scraping by to stay current on our payments rather than having the several hundred dollars+ of relief that we could have gotten had we refinanced with another mortgage company - which we would have done if CitiMortgage would not have misleadingly told us that they would give us the same deal without having to pay closing costs.

I was an ABNA-AMBRO customer which was bought out by citi. In February 08, I received our yearly escrow analasis. It statted that our escrow was short and told us to pay the amount of the shortage, also gave a new payment. I called to see if I could keep the payment the same. the man I talked with at customer service told me the amount I needed send to keep my payment the saame. I sent a check over the amount I was told thinking it would further lower my payment. Since I have spoken to customer service5 times and every month when I receive my loan statement. I receive a new loan payment amount which have all been higher than the original amount.

Today 4/25/08 received another escrow analises with a refund check for over paid escrow and another higher payment amount. I don't understand how someone can get a refund when thier payment amount goe's up. So I got back on the phone and asked to speake with a suppervisor right away. She stated that they normally review thier escrow account in April and that since I was with ABNA AMBRO tha they did thiers in February and there must have been a mix up and someone did mine again by mistake. I said ok all I want is for the amount of the check they sent me to go back on my escrow and lower my payment. I she said I would have to send them anouther check, I said no I should not have to fix thier mistakes for them. I said that I would void the check and that I wanted it posted back to my account she said that she would send an email to thier escrow dept. and gave me my new payment amount. I asked how I would know that this time it was done right she said it would be ok now but Iinsisted that i receive a call letting me know.

Two hours later I got a message on my answering machine that They were unable to void the check and to call if I had any questions. I did call back I asked to speak to who was in charge of escrow An acount manager picked up and told me the only way I can fix this is to fax a letter to thier escrow dept. and send anouther checkafter a long conversation about customer service (which I hope was recorded) I found out that there is no one ther in charge that the account manager's boss was not there and Basicly her word was the law, because there are no names email address's or phone nubers for any one who is actualy in charge and can make a decision or get the problem resolved.

I would just like to know what one person is to do to fix these problems and who is watching over these companies as they continue to make mistake after mistake and leave it to the customer to find or fix the problem. This really tears me up. Also i filed Chapter 7 three years ago and was not properly informed on reaffirmation of my mortgage. I was never asked to reafirm by abna ambro because I did't include the housse in my bankruptcy. They reported my credit to the credit agancey's. Since Citi got my loan every statment mentions this is for information purposes only since the account may or may not have been in banckruptcy. They also don't report my credit. How can 1 company do differetly than the other if they are both governed by the same law's.

I'm pulling my hair out. I can't afford to refinace to get away from this company that bought my mortgage.

Currently I live at another address and am remodeling the house thru Citimortgage. At this time I owe the mortgage payment for March '08 and April '08. I have been in contact with Citimortgage and told them I was sending the payment in which they agreed and everything was fine.

Today, April 12, 2008 I received a call from a gentlemen in charge of Safeguard. If your not familiar with them, they are the company hired by Citimortgage to come clean and rummage thru your residence when you are behind on a payment. Their charge is anywhere between $1,000.00 and 3,000.00 for services which is billed to your account.

Anyway, he called to let us know that he was contacted to go to my property and clean it up inside and outside. They are really not supposed to call you, but after he inspected it he found no reason to clean it so he called us. Good thing. I contacted the mortgage company to see what was going on because we had an agreement about the payments and the lady on the line said not to worry about Safeguard because they did not contact him. Don't worry...I think $1,000.00 is reason enough to worry. They state they have a right to go into my residence anytime they see fit, even if I live there, because I have a FHA loan.

Wells Fargo cut a transfer check to CitiMortgage on 1/8/08, mailed it to them on 1/28/08, and show that is was cashed by CitiMortgage on 1/31/08. I gave the Wells Fargo ck # and amount to CitiMortage supervisor, Ms. Nicole Lopez, by way of a 3-way call with Wells Fargo on 3/25/08. She was informed by Wells Fargo at that time that they did have the cancelled check and it was pointed out to her that we had also paid a principal only payment that needed to be back dated and reapplied. She then put me on hold while checking with the cashiers dept. and returned telling me that the funds were unable to be located at that time.

She then stated that this is an Escalated Case of Missing or Misapplied funds to another loan and assigned a case # and instructions for me to check on the status at a later time. She also informed me that the principal payments that I have made from Jan-March and up until the time it takes to clear this would be back dated and reapplied and that this case had to be resolved within 7 days. That seventh day would have been 4/1/08 and as of 4/10/08 this is still unresolved. At this time I am wondering if CitiMortgage has already violated RESPA Section 6.

On 3/28/08 they sent a letter to my home address asking me for a copy of my cancelled check when in fact they need a copy of Wells Fargo's cancelled check; front and back. I have had the worst customer service from them and you cannot deal directly with one person, meaning each phone call, and there have been many, involves explaining over and over again to a new person. I need some help with resolving this and filing a complaint against them.

I have spent approximately 6 hours on the phone trying to resolve this thus far. I am not quite sure how to verify that our principal only payment made each month will be properly applied. This has caused me much unnecessary anguish and we have been treated as if we have done something wrong when in fact we are the victims. Our PITI and principal only payment has been applied to another person's loan and they treat us as if the burden of proof is on us even though Wells Fargo has their canelled check that Citi cashed! This manner of business needs to be stopped.

They said it would take 6 to 8 weeks for the results. They sent me a letter dated 12/10/07 saying they were working on it and they would make every effort to provide me with an answer in two weeks. On January 4th, 2008 I called their Customer Service Dept. to check on it. The lady I spoke with couldn't answer my questions so she transferred me to a supervisor. The supervisor said it was still being worked on and she would expedite it.

I called back on January 23rd. The lady I spoke with said it is still in the process and to call back in a month. I called back that same day and asked to speak with a supervisor or manager. Then about late july or aug, we got calls and letters from citi wanting their money (we had no idea). Finally we start paying automatic bank drafts to them. Then they want 1st payment ABN sent back with late charges. After numerous calls were told, "oops they made a mistake, forget it, keep paying."

Then they don't get 3rd payment (automatically and our bank showing they did get it) so another late charge which we find out they never fixed the original problem. We owe $3-4000 and they ruined my credit report. So we go back and forth again resulting in us paying all back monies owed about 3/6/2008. Then on 3/23/2008 they tell us they are going up $400+ on our fixed monthly payment. They want 2 months in advance plus doubling our taxes in escrow. We need help from a lawyer.

We set up a 30 yr fixed 6.5% loan to buy our dream house in FL with payments of $1891 monthly is all we can pay and keep the house. Total @$2450 monthly with escrow. We've had to pay penalties, late fees, (not our mistake) forced to take their house ins at $2800 a year when we had $988 already paid in advance (they didn't know about because abn didn't tell them they are the same company). Now our payments will be $2898.80 starting 4/01/08. I think this is illegal but I have to pay or lose our house.

He was given a pre-approval letter for the amount needed to finance the house, if the bank holding the house accepted his bid. He then put a bid on the house, and it was accepted; but he had to put $20K down to hold the house. Everything was set for the past month, then today at closing Citi said they were no longer going to make the mortgage unless his granddaughter pays off a student loan that he co-signed for.

That loan was always there on his credit report since long before he started the mortgage process and is not in default or anything like that. So now he has no mortgage and has until the end of the week to come up with a new mortgage or he will loose his $20K deposit which is all the money he had saved up for the house. Can he sue Citi for causing him this loss?

You can never get the person who has sent you several letters from loss mitigation stating they need to talk to you, but when you call their voice mail is full, and therefore you cannot contact them. Calling customer service line again is another impossible step, my hold times have been 26 minutes and more just to speak to someone, and once they answer the phone after verifying all your information, they then transfer you to a different department and again hold time is greater than 20 minutes, and then you have to reverify all your information again.

The only way I have been able to even contact them, and this I let the general public know, is a formal letter sent to their fax line. The times I do actually talk to a customer service rep, they at least tell me that my letter was received and documented on my account. I currently work full time for another mortgage company where our performance is based on customer satisfaction, and rated on calls and time. I sure would like to know which survey company they use so I can tell them a few things about their company. Since my ordeal I have had several contacts from different locations of citi mortgage, from Des Moise, Iowa, to Las Vegas, Nevada, to Fort Sills, South Carolina, all telling me different things. So good luck to those consumers that have their mortgage with citi mortgage, I sympathize.

When I realized that our house payment was due I called the customer service number, got our account number and the mailing address. I was assured that there would be no problem with the payment, and if a late fee did accrue I could have it waived.

I mailed the payment and assumed all was well, until I came home recently and saw a letter from CitiMortgage saying that the payment never arrived. I called the bank and verified that the check had not cleared. Yesterday made my Feb payment via check-by-phone. This was not good enough for citigroup mortgage who started foreclosure preceedings before I could send in any payments. Jan. 2005 had worked out a forebearance agreement with citigroup. They have collected our payment each month and defrauded us out of $12,000, plus expenses, so far by holding payments, not posting them, and then attempting to charge us late fees and foreclosing. They have done this TWICE so far. We have documentation that all payments were made, bank records from automatic withdrawals, cashier's checks, and even postal receipts from when our payments were mailed certified mail. At first, we paid by check. They cashed one of our checks for DOUBLE the face value (two payments), which caused our account to be overdrawn. They refused to refund the overpayment--instead saying they would credit it to our principal, which DID NOT happen. Our bank had to go after them to settle the insufficient fund fees, etc. from the overdraft they caused. Then, we switched to automatic withdrawal, knowing that the documentation our bank would have of their withdrawals of payments from our account would be to our benefit. This did not stop them from trying to foreclose, however, even though we had all documentation of every payment.

They told us the so-called default was all a mistake, and that they were investigating our account. Then, we got a letter from their attorney stating the date and time of foreclosure sale if we did not pay $6,000, including their attorney's fees. AFTER we got the letter from their attorney, we got a letter from them (obviously post-dated) telling us we were delinquent. They have done this to us for the THIRD time now, as we got another letter (obviously NOT mailed by the date on it, as it was two weeks later) saying they were going to accelerate the note due to default by sending it to foreclosure by March 3, 2008. I have receipts of all the cashier's checks sent to them, ALL of which our bank has documentation that they cashed. I also have postal receipts showing when I mailed payments certified mail. They are again trying to DEFRAUD me of $2,904 this time. I have filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, and the Missouri Attorney General's office. I was party to a previous lawsuit through the Attorney General's office, which was dismissed. We were told that Citi was unethical, but not illegal to hold payments and attempt to collect late fees in this manner. We were also told that it was irrelevant that we had all documentation that every payment was made.

So far we are into this at $12,000-$20,000 and climbing--plus late fees (which we DID NOT owe), fees for their foreclosure attorney, postal fees for mailing everything certified, extra cost incurred for purchasing cashier's checks each month, money for faxing payment documentation into all three credit bureaus EVERY month, as they falsely report a default on our credit, and a tremendous time commitment. We have called their managers 2-3 times a week, sent numerous faxes of our proof of payment, and now we will likely incur attorney's fees to take them to court for fraud, not to mention the emotional toll it has taken on our family.

I asked for a supervisor, and remained on hold for 25 minutes. However, the property has been approved for a tax abatement, but the bank is still asking me to pay the old tax rate which comes out to $1400 each month. It should only be approx. $20 each month. I called the bank several times; they should adjust the rate, and they said that I will have to wait until July of 2008 for the next tax statement. I tried to explain to them that all the information is on the City of NY web site, but so far I had no successes and am still paying every month $1400 in taxes. The bank has notes of every time I called.

My payment every month after taxes comes out to $2824.44, and with a family of 5 (a wife and 3 kids), I can't afford to make such high payments. I am also afraid if I won't pay the taxes, they will report to the credit agencies and ruin my credit. So I am reaching out for help.

We have been trying since July 2007 for help in preventing foreclosure on our house due to high interest sub-prime loans, 1st & 2nd ($5,000.00 mortgage due to a home remodel/addition). This is the first month that we have not made our payment on time. I want everyone to know how horrible their customer service is with Citi Mortgage and how that company doesn't help their customers. Just trying to get through on a phone call is a joke. I have been put through to every kind of department, as this person or that person doesn't know anything. I was told that our loan is NOT eligible for a loan modification; no they don't have a payment plan other than making extra payments divided by 3 months.

No wonder people are losing their homes because of companies like this that aren't even helping us to save our homes that we work VERY, VERY hard to keep. My husband is working 2 jobs to help cover the mortgage, and I can't get an extra job to even help out as we have 2 kids. I am fighting mad, and I want help in getting our loan fixed to help us keep our beautiful house we have worked so very hard for.

We will lose our house if we can't get help from these mortgage companies. We have lost so much money since the real estate market has crashed. I am tired of the red tape in all this mess! I have migraines a couple times a month due to the stress of all this. My husband's and my health is becoming an issue due to all of this stress we are going through.

Citimortgage took over my mortgage after ABN Amro at the end of 2007. For some strange reason, Citimortgage is not paying my school taxes. I called them twice and sent two e-mail requests reminding about the deadline Jan. 31. I even faxed them a copy of the school tax bill, but nothing happened at all. They just told me that my request is being processed (first call) and then it's being expedited (second call). There is enough funds on my escrow; they got a copy of the bill. I'm at loss as to why they can't pay it.

My good name as a taxpayer is tarnished for no reason, and there is an additional 7% they will have to pay.

In August of 2007, I sold a building I owned and mortgaged through ABN Amro. At closing, I was charged for July through that date in taxes and the buyer was charged the rest. Shortly after the closing, I received the remains of my escrow account. It was short by a considerable amount. I called ABN Amro to report that they had paid my taxes in full and they had already been paid at closing. I was told a refund would take a couple of months to process. Since this time, ABN Amro has been purchased by CitiMortgage. I have called several times to find out the status of my refund. I have faxed information from the city tax office showing that the taxes were paid twice.

Once, CitiMortgage's tax dept. cancelled my claim by saying the "County" did not show the taxes being paid twice. On a second occasion, they said the tax clerk said they would roll the payment into the next period. I sold the building; why would they do that? Each time I call, I get someone who has to read the notes and then I get put on hold for 20 minutes. My case has been escalated many times and continues to sit on someone's desk; I'm sure.

Citimortgage notified me that they performed an Escrow Analysis on my mortgage, and that they were raising my monthly escrow bill from $401 to $1,787.50. Upon researching the issue, I found out that Citimortgage had miscalculated my '08 escrow requirements for the following reasons: 1)They requested that I send my supplemental bills to them for payment, and I did so, when in fact this was to be handled by me, as there was not funding identified to pay such a bill with my escrow account. The bill was for $3,837.88. Citimortgage then paid the tax TWICE in error. The additional check was rejected by the county tax assessor, but Citimortgage states that their error was my problem until it's all figured out. They then calculated that my escrow account needs for '08 would include the 1.1% property tax required by the County of San Diego, the ONE TIME supplemental Tax bill for '07, the amount sent in error by them ($3,837.88), and my hazard insurance premium of $492 for a grand total of $12,730.45.

What I really need in my escrow account is about $4,700. I provided them with contact info to verify this. They ARE UNRESPONSIVE WHEN I CALL TO CORRECT THEM, AND CONTINUE TO INSIST THAT I MUST PAY THEM THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNTS!

Their error has risen my monthly mortgage bill from $2188.00 to $3236.64. I cannot and will not send them the extra amount in error. How can I trust that I'll get it back when, God willing, THEY FIGURE OUT THEIR ERRORS? The billing department is starting to call, and I'm awaiting the outcome of an account inquiry by the 31st of this month. I must admit, I'm not optimistic. What should I do?

Since my loan was purchased by Citigroup in late 2007, I've had numerous calls from them stating they have not received my payments, which I have set up as recurring through my bank account. However, when I look at my account with them, there is an extra payment noted that is not explained. I've been charged late fees and have just made an extra payment that I didn't need to make. I've spoken to someone last month about this but just got another automated call stating that my account was overdue. I've had no problems with this mortgage payment until Citigroup took over. I've tried to call again but cannot get through to a live person.

I've just made an extra payment that I don't think I should have had to make. And, I was charged a late fee that I didn't owe.

We though every was going fine and payments were being made and applied correctly until we got a call in October stating that they had not recieved a single payment on the account and that we were behind for three months. I was in disbelief and contacted my husband makes that payment. He had to print out his bank statments stating that we had made payments through there online system. Apparently the August payment was misapplied somehow (still have not received a straight answer about this) and that the online system did not draft out the September payment. We then made the September and October payments together and then thought that everythings was fine.

Later in December we get a knock at the door stating that the company was putting us through foreclosure for non payment. Since then we had stopped making the payments online and were doing western unions to make the payments to the company for the November and December. Apparently the company still states that we did not pay September-December. We have proof of payments through bank statements and the western union drafts.

I have a FHA loan and my mortgage is with CitiMortgage. I bought my house 11/06. Last year my son moved out, unexpectedly, reducing my budget by $800/month. I had surgery on my shoulder and had some unpaid leave. I fell behind on my credit cards and car loan, trying to pay the mortgage. I contacted CitiMortgage and requested hardship assistance for a couple of months to give me the time to catch up. They denied me with no explanation.

Now, because of late payments on my other bills, my credit score plunged. Since that time my mortgage payment has gone up over $60.00 month. This was because my insurance went up. It put my escrow in a negative number. The insurance company said they sent me the new information, but I cannot find where I received it. I called CitiMortgage, again, and explained the situation. I offered to send half the payment now and the other in 2 weeks. They did not accept my offer. I was told we don't do that, we have to have the full payment. I requested they transfer me to the office that handles the Bi-weekly program. I was thinking, due to my situation, they would allow me to start this program. I was told they can't work with my payday schedule. I get paid on the 1st and 16th. She advised me they would only do the 15th and last day of the month. This is not what the website states. I also discussed the hardship request denial. They stated I wasn't eligible because my escrow went into a negative balance because the insurance premium went up. However, I requested the hardship assistance on 9/07 and my insurance premium was effective 11/07. So now I am unable to make my mortgage payment. One payment will leave me with about $200 out of my paycheck to buy gas, groceries, medicine, doctor, and pay bills due. I worked so hard to get my credit and this is the first home I have owned. I am moving to Wisconsin and now I am out of options to purchase a house there. From what I have read, the mortgage companies have plans to assist homeowners with these kinds of problems. Apparently, CitiMortgage doesn't. I don't know what else to do, other than to let it go into foreclosure.

I originally signed up for the loan through AMBRO mortgage exactly 2 years ago when I closed on my house and agreed with the terms, conditions, and payments. My payments were set at a fixed amount as far as principal, interest and escrow payments until the company (Citimortgage) took over the loan very recently. Now the company (Citimortgage) is increasing my monthly payment because of a slight increase in Escrow. My previous escrow payments were not really off that much, about $20.67, but what's not acceptable is, they wanted me to pay $604 as a buffer per year in order to upset the shortage, instead of $20 difference. My monthly house payment will be increased by $118 per month. I tried contacting the firm but to no avail on my side. Is this a fair practice?

With my previous payment, I am able to make the payments but an extra fee added to it will cause me to lose my house. Please help.

Citi Mortgage bought out my mortgage from ABN - AMRO. South Carolina passed a penny sales tax last year to reduce property tax rates. Since my property tax bill decreased considerably in December, I have approximately $1300 in overpayment in my escrow account. I have called Citi Mortgage several times to inquire as to whether or not they are doing an escrow analysis on South Carolina mortgages and when I can expect to hear from them regarding the overage in my account.

Nobody seems to have a clue what I am talking about...I was told that no escrow analysis is being done and would not be done until my scheduled annual due date. Isn't that convenient? Citi Mortgage can use my money interest free for as long as they want to before refunding the overage and adjusting my monthly payments.

Three months ago Citi Mortgage bought my account from ABN-AMRO Mortgage . I had a good credit account until then. I got behind on one payment and sent over half of the payment, and they didn't add it to my account. They sent me a letter and told me they are holding that money and will not apply it until they get the other $200.

The next month I sent them a check with a payment of $1000.00, and they mailed it back and told me I owed them payments for three months and late fee. So how is Citimortgage getting away with this kind of treatment? I never hear of a bank refusing payment. What are they trying to do, put everybody in foreclosure?

    Dear whoever you are,
After emailing my US Senators I decided to google CitiMortgage and came up with your site.
The problem has to do with exhorbitant demands for escrow accounts and I was interested in finding that other people are having the same problems with speaking to a person in authority at CitiMortgage.
It is extremely irritating and frustrating.

Thanks for listening. I just wanted to add my two cents for the record

In 9/2007 Citimortgage didn't inform the Maricopa County Treasurer that they would pay our property taxes from our escrow account. Therefore, we were billed for the taxes. So that the taxes wouldn't be paid late and so we didn't incur late charges, we paid them. I then contacted Citimortgage to find out why the taxes weren't paid out of our mortgage payment's escrow account. I was informed that Citi would pay our taxes and we would receive a refund as of mid-October. Mid-October came and went, so I called Citi again. They said they'd sent the tax payment to the treasurer, and as soon as the payment was applied to our account they could process our refund. I called the Maricopa County Treasurer to find out if they'd received Citi's payment and they said no. I called Citi again and they said they'd sent the payment. I kept the Citi customer service rep on the phone and conducted a 3-way call with the Citi rep and the County treasurer rep. The County Treasurer said they were behind on processing the mortgage company checks and would have them all processed by 11/30. Yet by Monday, 12/3 it still wasn't applied so once again I got a Citi rep on the line.

The conclusion is that the bank will reissue the check, and now it will take 60-90 days for the process. I am appalled at the remarkably poor customer service I've gotten. For the first 3 phone calls and for 10 weeks, did a single Citimortgage person attempt to proactively solve my problem. Why did I have to initiate an investigation every time, and why was it because of my phone call that Citimortgage realized that the payments to the Maricopa County Treasurer for ALL of Citi's customers in this county was somehow lost? I informed Dustin that I was submitting this complaint AND investigating refinancing.

As of today, 12/3/2007 its been over 10 weeks that a payment of over $1,212 has been owed to us from Citimortgage.

Citi Residental Lending took over Ameriquest mortgages. Rates went up. I have been unemployed since August. Citi calls me every week trying to get me to submit to a payment date. I am doing the best I can to find a job. I receive no unemployment. As of this date my house payment is not yet 30 days overdue. Yet Citi keeps saying after December 1st they will issue an intent to foreclose letter. Is it legal for a company to threaten foreclosure when you are only one month behind in payment? They don't want to work with you, they just want foreclose. Stress is high enough without this being a verbal threat every week. Is this fair?

I have lived in for over 15 years with my children; because I am one month past due on my mortgage payment I might lose it. The emotional damage is unbelievable. It used to be that lenders work with you--not flat out against you.
