    BEWARE!! I received a letter from Autopay indicating I had been "...'pre-qualifed' to refinance your current auto loan with a new lower rate of 5.75% and a lower payment than you are paying now" for my vehicle I had recently purchased - based on my excellent credit. Of course, I was interested and wanted to "save $139 a month". I even has a specialized unique log on code. All I had to do was logon, review my refinance offer then click Apply Now button. Sounded easy enough. After all, "there are no obligations or hidden fees and it's FREE to apply." So I applied. I soon got a call from a service rep. But I was a little surprised NONE of my information was available to her (yet I was pre-qualifed and even had my monthly payment and potential savings listed! I gave her all the vehicle information and she said someone would be in touch with me.

    The next day she returned a call to inform me she found a lender willing to refinance my vehicle. I was getting excited that I would be able to lower my existing 7.5% APR 60 month loan and soon have an extra $139 each month in my pocket. But as I heard the rep proudly and excitedly inform me that she had found a lender, soon turned to exasperating in disbelief as she announced the proposed new rate would be 8.7% for 84 months!!!!

    I asked her to repeat that information and then abruptly challenged her as to what kind of lower rate was that!!! She informed me that the rate quoted me initially was only a pre-qualified rate and would ultimately rest with the lender. Then informed me to read the fine print on the back of letter. ("you are pre-qualified for the amount shown on this mail/email, at an interest rate between 2.99% and 24.99% APR... for a term up to 84 months.") What a joke of a company!! It may work for some people. But now I have a hard credit pull on my credit score with no results. So.... Just be aware of these shady advertising bait and switch techniques.

    If you are just looking to lower your payment and extend the timeline of your loan they may be for you. BUT they will not tell you that up front, even if you ask them. I let them do a hard inquiry on my credit, only to find out that the terms of the loan meant a higher APR and longer loan. They could NOT beat the terms I had on my current loan. In short, it's a marketing scam. Go to your bank and you'll likely get better terms overall. Bottom line, I don't like being lied to, and they lie and hope you don't ask any questions. Just legal enough to not be shut down.

    Like so many others, I responded to a letter I received in the mail from AutoPay that showed my current payment amount, my current interest rate, and an offer to reduce my monthly payment significantly. That was the "Bait" and I took it. In the communication with the representative I was REPEATEDLY answering the same questions over and over. When I questioned the purpose I was told that they did not have the info I was confirming and had to rely on the individual's credit report which is in and of itself a lie! ALL of the information they were asking me to verify was required fields on THEIR loan refinance application and had been provided already. I was very irritated but allowed the nonsense to continue as I was seeking refinancing after all.

    The process up to having a contract in hand (emailed), was very annoying because the same questions are asked over and over and if you have a problem or concern regarding the terms, you better talk to more than one person as you WILL get different responses from each different person you speak to! I ultimately DID NOT move forward and have no regrets. They are deceptive and try very hard to "befriend" you to sell you the contract all the while glossing over what is really happening..

    * The lower monthly pmt is accomplished by extending the term of the note (and may actually have a higher interest rate).

    * Rolling non descript charges into the loan such as Gap insurance where if paid upfront like a down pmt would be ($1000 for example) but being financed over 6 or 7 years, you end up paying multiple times over the actual cost (3 or 4 thousand) and that is just added profits hidden under verbiage. If you question details like that, they get rude and say YOU just don't understand!!!! BEWARE, READ THE FINE PRINT, IN MOST CASES, YOU ARE ACTUALLY PAYING A LOT MORE THAN YOUR ORIGINAL NOTE!!! They are a predatory lender (In My Opinion) looking to catch customers, most of which are deeply in need of help, only to get screwed in the long run.

    I wanted to refinance my auto loan because the dealer where I financed the vehicle, at the last minute raised the interest rate and claimed it was the lowest they could offer, despite a lower rate being advertised on their website. I applied with AutoPay right away. After submitting all of my information and spending an hour on the phone repeating the same answers, giving the VIN, registration info, insurance, loan info, I was told a couple of days later to wait a couple of months until the car loan showed up on my credit report. Two months later I get a letter in the mail telling me this great news that AutoPay is ready to refinance my loan! The letter had my current payment and the new lower payment! Savings of $750+ per year! All in my pocket!! Call right away!

    I called and resubmitted my information AGAIN, answered MORE questions, then the asst. tells me they'll have an answer either later that night or the next morning. Next day comes and no call. I call the following day and am told "Sorry we cannot beat your current loan." I was very surprised. I asked why and was told their lenders have a variety of reasons why they'll only lend money at certain rates. I asked if they AutoPay makes money selling peoples' information because now they have ALL of my information and I have NO LOAN. It seemed very shady. They bothered ME to apply two months later. They throw around these low rates in the beginning to attract you then suddenly it all falls apart. My credit rating is 820+. So THAT is not the problem. It sounds like a scam. Take your business elsewhere...

    I sent all the documents in the website to apply, I thought it was a high-tech company for it. However, a guy started called me and texting rescheduling the call multiples times so I asked to send the information through email and then I can decide, that’s when the guy started being aggressive and invasive mentioned that we’re dealing with so much money and accusing I am unwilling to take a call since I asked to send the email. I felt he was treated me like he was doing me a favor and I should listened to him instead of he resolving my questions and giving me the information I need to decide.

    I recently received a letter in the mail from this company, promising a significant reduction in my loan payment. Intrigued, I decided to apply for the refinance loan and submitted all requested documents. They ran a hard inquiry which impacted my credit score by 4 points. Then they called me to discuss my application. In this discussion, the representative mentioned that, due to my location, I would only get a .5% reduction at most in my loan rate and not the 3% reduction noted in their letter.

    I asked why there was such a drastic difference, and he said it was because of my location and who will lend in my location. If that is the case, then they should be sending out letters that are applicable to that specific region. Not only was the letter deceptive, but I felt deceived and cheated. It is disheartening to see a company resort to such deceptive practice and preying on individuals seeking genuine financial relief. Do not trust this company. Their promises are empty, their practices are deceptive, and in the end, the only tangible change you'll experience is a lower credit score. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for financial assistance.

    Applied after CreditKarma featured ad on my app. Approval was quick but after that the 'Bait & Switch' starts! Initial rate offer of 3.5%. Went to 8% with A++ credit! I can get 5% everywhere else. Waste of time. Deceptive, fraudulent advertising by AutoPay and CreditKarma. CreditKarma is owned by Intuit (Quicken TurboTax) and had to pay $124 Million in fines for deceptive ads for the "Free Tax Filing" ads. You think they learned but apparently you can't teach an old dog a new trick. Once a scammer, always a scammer. Disgusting.

    Autopay sent me a mail saying they are going to offer me 5.74% rate if I refinance my auto loan with them. I currently have 6.45% auto rate loan. They did hard check on my credit and told me that they will reduce my monthly payment but offered a higher interest rate 7.5% and longer payment term. Fooling customers.

    I started this process a month ago and they haven't even finished writing up the contract. I am starting to think I have been scammed and should take my business elsewhere.
