I had an auto loan with this company and had automatic payments set up, went through a separation and I was under the impression that my wife was paying the payments. I was wrong, she missed two, I found out and made the payments that day, I transferred the payments to her account, the bank kept telling me that I never made a payment even though I had proof and sent it to them. I continued to make the payments every month. I owned this car for 3.5 years, paid 21,000 for it, put 2000 down, every month they reported a late payment to my credit because they refused to add the payments that my wife missed. This went on for a year.
I called the credit bureaus and disputed it and sent the proof. They give ally 30 days to respond or they remove it. Problem is they don't require any proof from any company that reports to your credit, so all ally or anyone else has to do is electronically send a reply that said it's valid, so I fought them for over a year and finally gave up.
I bought her another car and turned it back in because they were threatening me and they even called my clients, people that may have called me at some point in my life, relatives that I haven't seen in over 20 years and they actually told them that I was not making my car payments even though I was, they also told me that I only made 9 payments on the car in 3.5 years, I asked them if that was the case then why is it that I never heard from them in anyway, no answer.
In December of 16 I was very ill, had kidney stones that in turn caused me to have prostrate issues that they thought was cancer, I was in the hospital for almost a month, I got out and called them, told them what was going on and I said "I will send you two payments now one for December and one for January that why I'm not behind," the lady said "we will reject the payments, you can't send any payments in unless you pay the payments from a year ago," I said "I've already made them and sent the proof," she said "yeah I see that but we are showing you didn't and we want the whole car paid off or returned," I said "No, I'm not going to return anything and I've done my part," she said "well it's out for repossession then and we will file litigation against you."
I contacted an attorney that said he would help me and so far nothing has been done, they applied allege payments I made to interest and by the time I was finally done with it. I owed 25900 on it after making 15,600 of payments, I paid 21,000 with 2000 down. Do not use them, they were sued in 14 for the same things and lost 88 million in settlements, I would love to have a lawyer that will help me.

I have leased several cars through Ally Bank. Unfortunately when I turned my last car they stuck it to me. Charging me for things with vehicle that were wrongfully charged. I had a key that I was advised by the dealership that Ally would call me to tell me where to send the key! That never happened hence the charge. I called in & the lady kept repeating the same thing, "ma'am you can no longer turn in the key" & I told her I have never had any issues with any of the vehicles that I have turned in prior.
There were no issues with the vehicle when I returned, no dents nor has it been in any accidents... Just funny. I have never had any issues with turning in my vehicles until I decided not to get another lease... The lady was quite rude. Every time she spoke the same words just kept getting louder & repeating even to the point of speaking over me! Very unprofessional & I will not pay what they are charging me in full... I will give them $20 bucks a month for the service they gave me once I severed our relationship!

Ally is a great financial institution which offers ATM refunds and interest rates on free checking accounts, which no other bank does. I have had absolutely no problems opening a checking account there and I plan on opening a savings account soon. I was tired of paying $$ for ATM withdrawals and haven't since I switched. Furthermore, my friend has had no problems with his car loan and it is going very well.

In the beginning I had no issues with Ally. The few times that I did talk to someone they were pleasant and nice. My payments were made on time. I paid for 45,000 miles but turned the car into the dealership with 34,000 miles. I wanted to buy the car but they wanted much more than what it was worth so I leased a new SUV with GM. The car sat on the lot for two weeks before it was picked up. Then I received a bill for "damages". I kept the car immaculate. I knew I would get dinged for a broken piece of plastic on the driver's seat but I also got charged 175.00 for a key fob.
All fobs were turned in, however a few weeks before I turned the car in the pin fell out of the metal part of the key so it was in two pieces. I asked the dealership if they could fix it and they said it was common with the GM fobs but they had a few of the pins and I could try to put it back together. I didn't get a chance to so the fob that fell apart along with all the pieces and 2nd fob were turned in with the car. Then I got the bill for the broken plastic part on the seat, the key fob, plus tax. Ironically the total cost came up to exactly the same amount as one month's car payment.
I called Ally since I had no problems with them in the past and spoke to the rudest girl. I work in Customer Service and told her if she was my employee I'd send her to some customer service etiquette classes and if that didn't work, she'd be fired! She laughed. I was so pissed that I told her that I would be calling back to speak to a supervisor. I had to hang up. I sent a check payment for the broken seat plus the total tax but the not fob cost along with a letter that I would not be paying for the fob. I explained why and that they could take all the money I paid for extra miles and purchase a new $50-75 Key fob or just repair the faulty one, since I sent all the pieces.
I now get multiple harassing phones calls. I'm sure they will send it to collections and it will end up on my credit report. They won't even be reasonable now when I do call. They cashed the check for the seat portion but send me bills for the fob plus additional tax. Which I already paid with the seat. One additional note, when I moved from TX to FL my payment went up an additional 17.00 because they said FL charges their taxes during the duration of the lease, however TX is paid up front, which I had already paid. So where is that money? An attorney is looking into that because that is an issue that is ongoing in the state. I'm not sure what to do. I really shouldn't owe them anything! Thank goodness my new GM lease isn't with these rude, harassing, unprofessional leasing group!

I have seen complete deterioration of this bank as they grew, merging with other banks. I needed to transfer some IRA money from cash to CDs. Simple. FOUR calls to different departments did not achieve a thing. Nobody has the slightest idea how to do it. They have many different departments and play "soccer" transferring clients from one to another, so you make a circle. Bankers cannot see all your accounts. That makes it even more difficult. Maybe they are overworked as they cannot concentrate enough to even repeat your question. Absolute disaster!

Just had my first and last experience with these bone heads. Every time you call these people you start with some underdeveloped country for service. After all the crap they want your info for girl asked if I was primary on the account. I set yes. She said she has another person my account. "Who?" I said. She said William **. I said, "If you are that stupid you don't know Bill and William are the same thing I'm sure not giving you person info on my account." By law they have to supply you English speaking person with no accent.
So I figured I would get someone with at least IQ in double digits. Nope. Wrong again. So this person asks me who I am and same info I just gave **. Once they finally got into my account I asked to speak to Ruth. They said they can't get to Ruth. So I asked to speak to supervisor and finally girl I spoke with 2 days ago calls back. They have sent me letters to pay 407 dollars for 57 months except my loan is 478 dollars for 72 months. This place is joke. Keep all your receipts. You're going to need them. This place is scam artist.

Long time account holder. Ally sent new debit card issued via Mastercard. It does not allow access to checking account funds. After 18 telephone conversations with ALLY CS over a five day period... now conclude I have to bank elsewhere as CS reps check account. And respond with all is OK. Card is usable. It is not and none there in the different departments I have spoken with can only verify and respond with all is OK. Yet, it is rejected upon normal use at grocery checkout... Walmart etc. I cannot get access to funds. ALLY has failed in its fiduciary responsibility in providing me a card that will allow access to account. ALLY CS cannot do anything but look up account details and if all shows OK can do nothing else to fix the apparent broken link between account and debit card.

I was going to write this review a few years ago, but decided not to. Now that I am still receiving information from Ally Financial I decided to act. I had a car loan 12 years ago from Ally Financial. I paid on time every month and returned the car in perfect condition. I later received a bill stating that I owe money for one of the tires (which I did not, it was returned in perfect condition). I contacted them to correct this error and never received a response. My lawyer contacted them because of the continued harassment from the company regarding the money that I did not owe. The company never returned our phone calls or mail correspondence to sort this problem out. For the next seven years (prime time for me to be purchasing my first property) this was on my credit report. I filed a dispute so that it showed on my credit report, but it still really hurt my score.
Just the other day I received a letter from the company at my new address (I have no idea how they got my address) stating what information they can share regarding my personal information (the typical letter from financial institutions stating what they can share and what they can't). I e-mailed them letting them know that they cannot share any of my information and never received a response. This company needs to stop the harassment. I was reviewing other posts regarding negative experiences with the company, and it sounds like many other people have had the same experience I have (credit score problems, lack of response from the company).

DO NOT USE THIS BANK. This is June 2017. In Aug 2016 I traded my car and Toyota Financial paid off the balance due. The bank took a Sept. 2016 payment even though they we not supposed to. I called them and they told me to stop payment on the auto draft. At my expense I did just that. In May of 2017 I get a notice of payment due for 450?? The payment amount was 395.57 so I cannot figure out the $450. I have spent over 4 hours on the phone trying to straighten this out and they are supposed to return my call after their supervisor reviews this... 4 days ago.
I keep trying to call back but they hang up on me. I have been told everything from the Sept payment was for 8/2016 (absurd) too. They sent me a check for overpayment on my account (then why do I owe them) too. Toyota Financial sent them an incorrect amount on the payoff too. The payoff info they gave Toyota was probably incorrect because they don't have correct payoff information. (That's a problem between Toyota and Ally). I just wish I would have found this website before I financed thru them. Sounds like they have a long history of trying to get extra money out of a customer and then NOT LETTING THE PROBLEM GET RESOLVED. Maybe a law suit from the JP will do the trick. Whatever you do don't let them know you are recording them because they hang up on you... Wonder why!

I made the payments but late. Called them each time cause the online billing showed on 1 car that it was behind 2 months. Made the payment. The next month that car was not showing for me to make a payment. Called them and I was told I was 89 days behind and they would not accept payment. Needless to say now I wait for them to come get it. The customer service rep wouldn't answer any of my questions, would not accept payment over the phone nor put a supervisor on the phone. Just unbelievable... Told them to come get it!!!

They messed up our account in the beginning for our car loan and truck loan to the point we ended up owing 2 thousand in late fees and penalties and they wouldn't fix it. We ended up losing the car. They're forcing us to pay the difference on the car after they auction it off and threatened to sue us if we don't. We had a small accident recently with the truck and cracked the bumper and were told by the shop we want to use if we buy the parts and take it in to be fixed then we don't have to worry about coming up with the deductible. Ally Financial made so we can only go to the shop and then buy the parts and do all the repairs, they're forcing us to pay the deductible if we want the repairs done. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They will make your life hell and rob you blind. Worst mistake ever to go with them!!!

My account was hit with a "Fee for Overdraft Item Returned" of $25. I've never come close to a zero balance, so I contacted Ally Bank for an explanation. The first person (Taylor) couldn't explain the charge, so he told me to expect a call the following day. Two days later, the call did come, and it was explained the fee was for an attempted charge that would have exceeded my balance.
The only problem is, I made no such attempted charge. In fact, there's no record of the "attempted charge". The woman said she would try to get the $25 charge waived as a courtesy, but I elected to close the account instead. I have a zero defect policy for my financial institutions. They totally lost my confidence in handling this - first for the error, and then for the nonsensical manner in which they tried to explain it.

Also, I OVER PAID since these people lose/discard paperwork I had signed and notarized for "Business Use" taxes in Texas. I leased the car in my name. Used it for my personal transportation. On March 27th we paid the entire payoff amount on my wife's Jeep Cherokee, according to what our account said at login. To the penny. It is now late May and we've never received the title (nor any email or mail notifications we owed them anything additional). I logged in and saw that it said we still owe $33.89. I did the chat thing with 1st, Nick, then 2nd Ray. Both told me we hadn't paid off the amount in full, but according to the system we had. Apparently Ally keeps tacking on additional charges arbitrarily even though the account has been paid in full. Wasted 45 minutes in chat with them, no resolution was offered. They just kept saying we owed more.
So, I paid the $33.89 and told them I expect to see the title within 10 days. "Ray" suggested AFTER I paid it that I use "certified funds"... but the account was tied directly to my bank's checking account. We used Ally for our last 2 new vehicles but never again will I do business with them. Nor will our family. I told the reps this during chat - they didn't care, nor would they refer me to their supervisor when I specifically requested it. Seems really bad business to lose customers over $34. But they did. Bye Ally.

After leasing a truck through Chevrolet, Chevy used Ally Lease for transaction. 6 months before the lease was up, Chevy offered to payoff the balance of lease and lease another truck. A few months earlier we had a loan on hold for a new inflatable boat. The credit union had to re-run my credit score since the 60 days were up on the current loan offer. Upon running a credit check on me again the score dropped over 100 pts and Alley lease added into my credit report the truck was a repo. This action caused my previous interest rate to double since Ally ruined my credit score with inaccurate information. I have requested a letter of explanation and a monetary value sent to me for the difference in the interest finance charges over the duration of the loan. I did receive a letter stating the removal of the repossession but no letter of apology or a check for the difference of the interest.
I did talk to a Mr Ronald ** with Ally, he assured me of both, when my husband called to ask where the letter and the check was Mr. ** said "That's all the letter you are getting and the "check" must be hung up in accounting." The glass was finally dropped from the request yet an interior part that was not damaged on my part and most probably a normal design flaw was listed as replaced. This left $104.00 ALLY stated I owed them. This was offensive to me and to make it worse I was contacted by harassing collection agents. One was extremely disturbing.
I have stated from the first request that I would not be making payment and continue to receive harassing calls, my credit report is being documented with an unreasonable charge and I recommend to anyone to take full vehicle photos before you turn a vehicle in as this company takes advantage of you and handles their business in a harassing manner. Crooked Finance Company -- Don't trust them. My partner financed a vehicle from this company. Because of hours being cut at his job he got behind on payments. They would call and harass him constantly to where it was almost considered harassment. He would call to make arrangements but they wouldn't stop calling even though an arrangement was set up. When he would pay the arrangement then they would tell him it was for a different amount or that wasn't the agreed amount. They kept saying he owed more and more than he really owed.
Eventually when he couldn't pay b/c they kept raising the payments that weren't owed they repossessed the car. He never received notification that the car was repossessed, he just woke up to find it gone. Once we found out the car had been repossessed he found out he owed all these extra fees and they would keep changing. One day it would be one amount the next a much higher and etc. Within about a week of it be repossessed we made arrangements to get the car. We were told it still had a week before it went to auction.
We called the next day to get the car and they said the car had been sent to auction already so the fees now went up even more... Note we were just told less than 24 hours earlier the car still had a week before it went to auction and that they would hold the car since we were reclaiming it. Now the original repo fees included towing to auction, price to make another key, and etc. After coming up with $2500.00 to cover 1.5 months of late payments and well over $1000.00 in fees we got the car back. At this point things were missing from the car and of course no one owned up to it so that was more lost money.
At this point we thought everything was good until all the sudden more fees showed up which Ally couldn't explain but we were obligated to pay which meant we were automatically owing close to $1000.00 the first month when the payment was only supposed to be $450. They would not budge. That money was paid against our best wishes. We thought everything was OK. Payments were always made early at this point.
Then came tag renewal... What a nightmare. Went to get the tag renewed and the tag agency says we can't renew the tag b/c the car was not in our name. Unknown to us, Ally changed the title into their name and never back to ours. Well now we can't get a tag b/c it is not in our name. Called Ally and couldn't get anyone that spoke english. They didn't understand what was being said and kept making excuses. When asked to speak to someone that speaks better english we were transferred to another that didn't speak english. In the end we were told they will not transfer title back into our name.
At this point we called the State Insurance Commission who referred us to the Oklahoma Tax Commission office. They looked up the vehicle and said the tag agencies were correct and the title was never reassigned. According to the Tax Commission Ally was supposed to reassign the title within 30 days of the repossession which they never did. Now the only resolution to get the tag renewed is Ally needs to fill out a form to reassign the title and then we will have to pay excise tax and everything on the vehicle like we are purchasing it for the first time. So on top of the over $2500 we paid to get the vehicle back now they are saying we will need to pay about $700 more to tag the vehicle.
Called Ally again regarding this and they flat out refuse to reassign the title so we can get the tag either. We are completely and utterly stuck at this point. Ally refuses to help in any fashion to resolve this issue and they won't tag the vehicle. Not their responsibility they say but they won't correct the paperwork so we can either. Now we have a vehicle that isn't in our name and according to the insurance we can't even insure b/c the title needs to be in our name. Can't get anywhere at all with this company and they are not willing to budge. Spoke to an attorney who basically said just let them have the vehicle back. Ally totally and completely swindled us out of thousands of dollars and now our last option is to let them repossess the vehicle.
Don't deal with this company. They will rip you off for thousands of dollars then come get the car anyway. I'm sure once they possess the vehicle again they will come after us for more money but there isn't anything we can do. If we drive a vehicle with an expired tag then we get pulled over and have to deal with tickets and etc. not to mention we won't be able to insure it. Wish there was an out but unfortunately the attorney said we would never win in a situation like this most likely. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE CROOKS PERIOD!!!!

2014 I leased a Buick LaCrosse for 39 months. GM had a program that if a leased vehicle was turned in for a new one before 5/30/17, GM would pay off the balance of the lease. This I did on 5/9/17. Letters from Ally dated 5/11 began pouring in 3 a day. One demanded I pay $339.88 due for property tax. I visited tax collectors office on 5/19 and was told there is no tax due. I wish I could rate Ally as a minus star!!!

After being notified (as I live in Los Angeles, and I work for the County) that a virus/Wanna Hacking was affecting locations around the world - was notified on Sunday May 14 by work - I chose to contact and ask for certainty that Ally.com was safe. I called three times. First time calling TradeKing on Sunday (older phone number) resulted in the person working as customer service hanging up the phone when I asked about Wanna/virus affecting Ally.com. He didn't bother to listen, nor respond to my question. He simply just hanged up. Ok, I called again.
I called the second time - it took about 8 minutes to wait. When the person responded, I mentioned what had occurred on my first call and my desire to speak with a supervisor: to talk about Wanna affecting locations, and about my person experience with customer services in which I was hanged-up on. I requested (in my second call) that he (customer services - second call) please write down, in my case file (within Ally Investments), a quick note of what had occurred on my first call. The guy I spoke with said ok, he would write down my complaint and my concern. He mentioned that he would pass me to a supervisor - just hold. Ok, he placed me on hold. Within 4 minutes, my phone was disconnected.
Again, my third call: I had to wait on phone for 34:04 minutes/sec. Someone did answer the phone - I explained why I was calling - I was upset. I mentioned that I wanted assurance that Wanna (as it was stated and shown in Media) won't affecting Ally.com (a new service). I explained how rude it was that I called twice before, and now a third time to speak with someone.
Instead, I was told that there were no longer any supervisors, they had gone home for the day - to call tomorrow (Monday). I said fine. They said that a supervisor would call me at 9 AM (western time). Just note: I had been waiting for 34:04 seconds on phone before someone answered, and then I was placed on hold for another near to 10 minutes to be told that all supervisors had gone home. I requested that a supervisor call me on Monday then. No one within Ally.com bothered to call me. Or even consider leaving me a message.
I called Ally.com today (Monday) to explain what occurred yesterday, Sunday. When someone did answer my call, Monday, I attempted to explain how rude it was that no one from Ally.com bothered to followed up with my requested call back. Instead, a supervisor said: "What do you want, forget about yesterday, what do you want now". That is rude. As a customer, I want to explain that what occurred on Sunday was bad, and I want to make a complaint - Shane, his name, didn't feel like listening to my complaint. I attempted to explain my concern about Wanna/virus and about customer services from yesterday. He didn't feel like listening to any of my complaints. I try to explain how upsetting customer service was, and he apparently, by his voice, attempted to ignore that.
As I attempted to explain to Shawn (supervisor) how I felt, and what should be clarified, he appeared bored. I told him clearly: CHECK MY NOTE from yesterday, the one I requested to be written by customer services, and in which I requested to have a NOTE written there - what occurred on Sunday. Shane SAYS THAT THERE WERE NO NOTES written FROM YESTERDAY. I ASKED, "LISTEN TO MY CONVERSATION from YESTERDAY" (recordings), HE SAID, "I'll do that later." Look, he was rude. He attempted to ignore or avoid my complaints and concerns.
Because we just received a notice from LA County that there was a virus in the web, and to be careful, all I wanted was to ask my new account with TradeKing (Ally.com) whether it was safe within Ally.com. Instead, they reacted Rude, they INTENTIONALLY LIED TO ME. On my third call, the person I spoke with assured me that he had written my requested note for Monday. He did not. The supervisor Shawn says, "If you continue to attempt to complain, I will close your account with Ally.com."
This is my first complaint to Ally.com, and yet Shawn attempts to threaten me, and follows by (without me knowing) closes my account after I hang up. It is terrible that in Ally.com there is no office or department to which I can complain to, and no one to be passed to, and nothing to do about customer services. What about those I called on Sunday, what about their terrible services? Does anyone care about customers at all? No, no one appears to do so.
I won't bother myself with Ally.com (TradeKing) investment again. They are just terrible employees. (Yes, I did speak with other employees and they were fine, only this specific day, Sunday and Today (Monday) did I witness a terrible and cheap action within Ally.com.) I won't bother with them again. To those who might consider joining in - be careful. Be very cautious with Ally.com.

Withdrew 3 payments without authorization. Recently I scheduled my car payment to be withdrawn from 2 separate checking account, $300 from one account and $75.50 from the other. However, when the payment were withdrawn they took the $300 from the one checking, but withdrew about $768 from the other. When we called to see what had happened all they could say was "the amount was authorized" even though I had the email showing it was not. They told us the only way to get the money back was to contact our bank and let them know that the amount was not authorized - but that this process could take 2-3 months and in the meantime we would be expected to continue making our car payment each month. This has set us back on our bills and other payments.
It has literally turned our financial world inside down and there is nothing that can be done. Yes, we don't have to make a payment for 2 months because they charges us for a total of 3 payments, but that doesn't help us NOW. I've heard from an acquaintance that this happened to them twice and have read other reviews from people saying this happened to them too. How can a company do this to people. I received a statement dated day after due date, for late payment of balance of payment and late charge. I sent total amount on statement. I then received a statement of past due late charge. When I called their customer service I was told late charge I had paid was credited to future payment, because I had not put on payment to credit late charge. They did finally credit to late charge.
The next month Apr/2017 Wells Fargo again showed payment pending on due date. My granddaughter called Ally and was told they were having computer problems and could not accept payment from her bank at that time but late charge would be waived. Statement I received dated Apr 13 for total payment plus late charge. I paid total amount owed. I then received a statement I owed late charge. I spent about an hour on phone with SO CALLED Customer reps, and supervisor getting same (Added to future payment). Would not transfer me to anyone else because all higher ups had stopped taking call for the day. I feel like their practices are outrageous. After a year it should have went down more than what it did. I then noticed everything went to interest in which you get charged for everytime anyways. So I feel that after my term would have ended I still would have a big payoff. And customer service reps are so rude and yell at me all the time. We paid off our auto loan early. Have now waited over six weeks to receive the title. I have spent a couple hours on the phone being routed from the Philippines to a third-party title vendor. Here's what I have been able to ascertain: an online payment is subjected to a 2 week hold before Ally "requests" the title be released (the payment cleared the bank 2 days after I submitted it to Ally). The request is handled by a third party that Ally contracts with to handle the titles. They say it was sent 2 weeks after I paid the loan off, but I found a somewhat forthright rep that advised the "sent" date in the computer was just Ally advising that it was okay to mail the title and it could take another 10 business days before it was actually mailed. I waited 2 more weeks. Still nothing.
Apparently Ally cares so much about their customers that were never late with a payment that they send the titles out USPS regular mail. WHAT?! Have never experienced a title being sent regular mail. The Philippines advised that they could send out an Affidavit of Lien Release that I could take to the state DMV and get a duplicate title. So a good customer of Ally must expend my time to wait in the DMV line. If I want Ally to get a duplicate title I have to wait until 30 days after their computer says the title was mailed to request a duplicate title and start the whole maddening process over again. Finally got in contact with a rep in Corporate Accounting (yes, I was given that number as Corp Customer Relations). She has been the only one demonstrating any diligence in trying to get me the title.
Conclusion: Ally may offer decent rates and seem like a good lender, but when it comes to Ally demonstrating any amount of good faith once the loan is paid off you can forget about it. GO TO A LENDER that takes their obligations once the loan is paid off as serious as they take the customers' obligation to make timely payments.

I purchased a 2015 Chrysler 200 in August of 2015. I originally went to the dealer because the Jeep was under mandatory recall. The Jeep was old and needed to be replaced. I was offered $800 for the Jeep. Also, the dealer presented me with the 2015 Chrysler. I was not working, but had a little money saved. I gave the dealer an additional $500 toward the down payment, totally $1,300.00. I was approaching graduation with a Master's degree in October and was hoping to be employed with a good job shortly after graduation. The salesman swayed my decision to purchase the vehicle by stating that I could have the contract rewritten in a year. I struggled with making $469.00 per month payment. Therefore, I was in constant contact with customer service. Throughout the year, customer service representatives assured me that I could have the contract rewritten to lower my payments after twelve payments were made.
I found a part time, low paying job to help with making the payments. With difficulty, I made twelve payments and requested a rewrite. I was told by a customer service representative that I would have to make twenty-four payments, an additional twelve, in order to get a rewrite. Subsequently, the car was repossessed in February of 2017 and Ally sold it for $12,000. I paid close to $6,000 in twelve payments. Now, Ally wants me to pay them an extra $8,000.00 because they said I broke a promise. I would argue that they broke a promise to me. Ally sold a 2015 vehicle with no accidents, and (in excellent condition) with only 4,000 miles on it for $12,000.00. Does that make sense??? I am a minority and I think they used predatory lending practices in my situation.

I still have to pay them but now I am being forced to spend 20.00 to Western Union the payments.
I can't access my account online nor can I see how much I owe. Ally took this ability away from me simply because I assumed their antiquated system would charge my payment to my bank account within a few days. What's the excuse here? I was paying on time but Ally dragged their feet. This is a tactic so they can repo my car. They have done this to more than one customer. They cripple or put obstacles in the way of paying. Delay the debits so you assume they took it out a few days after paying. Sneaky scum!
If I can gas my car and it debits my account right away, why can't the same be true when I pay online like I always do? So with no ability to see how much I owe, they force me to call and speak to this lady with a Russian accent who can barely pronounce simple words. Anyway, to go through their long, intentionally annoying questions to authorize the review of the account. This dingbat at Ally asks every single time, "Why are your payment late." I have to then tell her the story. Since I now call to report a payment, I reminded this dingbat to check her notes for the answer. But in an effort to annoy me, she pretends she did not understand my instruction and asks again and again.
This is Ally's way of upsetting customers. They do not like us. They know their systems are antiquated but they want to have bloated bank accounts of money, money, money. I will never use Ally again. Oh and Ally changed their name from GMAC. They did this because of the negative rep GMAC had but since Ally has idiots for employees, their reputation simply carries over under the new name. My husband is going out for surgery in a couple of days in which he will be on medical leave for two months. He only gets 60% of his pay. Last week he called Ally and spoke to a female customer service agent to see if we could get lower payments on his car loan for the two months he was out of work on leave. She looked into it and put us on hold to speak to her supervisor. She comes back on the phone and tells us that we got approved for smaller payments and for this month and next to only pay a partial payment in which she gave us the exact amount to pay. We were unsure of how to go about paying this amount if it did not show online through Ally's website and she WALKED us through how to pay the amounts given. The rest of the amount we owed would be tacked on to the end of our car loan as an extra monthly payment.
Fast forward to the next week. We have been getting harassed by Ally for the extra $200 we did not pay on our car loan because we were told by the young lady to only pay partially. We told the first person this and they said ok and hung up. Today we get a call and they were telling us that our payment was delinquent. We call customer service for Ally. Apparently we were supposed to be told that there was another approval step to go through and if we were approved we would receive a letter in the mail with various information for us to make payments. We were never told this. They demanded us to pay the extra $200 and we tried to tell the gentleman that is not what we were told and that we previously spoke to a lady regarding our account and this is what she told us.
We were getting nowhere so we asked for a supervisor. She proceeds to tell us that everyone is trained in the same manner and follows the same steps. We asked her why this other lady told us that we were approved, gave us the ACTUAL PAYMENT AMOUNT to pay and even walked us through how to pay it. She had nothing to say for that, she kept saying over and over that there are steps that they take and everyone takes the same steps and that there was a second approval process to go through. We were getting nowhere for a half an hour so we ask for another supervisor. A gentleman comes on and we tell him the same thing. Nothing. He said that we need to make the extra $200 payment.
We asked him if this first lady did not have the authority to approve our request then why did she say it was approved, how did she come up with those two payment numbers, and why did she walk us through the steps to go through to pay it. So now our account shows that we're late because we didn't pay the full amount, the first time we've ever not paid the full amount, and we told them that because of my husband's surgery it will take a couple of weeks before he sees a check from disability from his work. Can we be guaranteed that our car will not be repossessed? 'We can't do that sir'. So now Ally, whose commercials focus on great customer service, is penalizing their customer for something an ALLY EMPLOYEE did. We only paid what we were told to pay by an Ally employee, but yet we are at fault.
So essentially she lied to us according to what we've been told by the customer service supervisors. We asked for another higher up supervisor and the gentleman would not give us one. He said he was the manager. We know he has a boss, but he said he could not give out that information. I asked for a corporate e-mail address to write to and he said they didn't have one. What corporation does not have an e-mail address? He could give us a mailing address and that was it. Yeah, so my letter can mysteriously not arrive at Ally? So it can take months to be read and replied to? No thanks. He said he would send our request to an escalation service. How long will that take? A week or two.
Thanks Ally for such GREAT customer service. I will never do business with them again. They lie to their customers and then turn around and make it to be their faults. We are getting penalized for something THEIR employee told us to do and even said she had supervisor approval to do. Apparently she lied to us, the customer. A customer in great standing with Ally. When they answer their phones, they claim their calls may be recorded. If that is true, then why can't they go back and play back the tape or read a log of what was said during that call. Ally has the worst customer service I've ever seen and your commercials are false advertising because you care nothing for your customers.

I leased a Chevy Malibu through Ally Financial. When I turned the car in I knew that the back bumper had a scratch from a runaway shopping cart. I further understood that I was responsible to pay for that ($180). There was no other damage to the car. The Ally rep waited 6 days to pick up the car from the dealership. Pictures taken by that rep show the car had been sitting for those 6 days, backed into a parking slot with the front bumper exposed. I received a bill from Ally for $360. I spoke with Dave, an Ally rep, and explained that there was no front bumper damage when I turned the car in. His telephone behavior was rude and disrespectful. He did admit that there was a 6 day delay in Ally coming for the car.
I filed a dispute and he told me I would have an answer in 24-48 hours. I did not hear from them until 15 days later when, of course, they denied my dispute. Ally called me 4-5 times every work day since then. I have now paid the full payment even though I am continuing to dispute the additional $180 claim for the front bumper. Ally is not to be trusted. I feel they are fraudulent. The car dealership has stated that they have discontinued all business contact with Ally after receiving multiple complaints from customers.

An fraudulent attempt was made to get money out of my account. Ally blocked my debit card and online access. I called the third party company that had contacted me and they cancelled my debit card but that was all they could do. I called the main Ally number and was able to order a new debit card, but they couldn't unlock my online access so I had to call the fraud dept. The person in the fraud dept. was able to unlock my online access, but a week later it was again locked. I had received, activated, and used my new debit card but then that became unusable.
I am once again on hold on the main number as no one is answering the number for the fraud dept., but they can't help me. I talked to some sleazy woman in the fraud dept., which is a different number, and located on the East Coast, and only open until 5:00 EST, and she was asking me the standard "security" questions, but then she said I didn't answer fast enough, and that I would have to email pictures of my driver's license, social security card, and a utility bill to prove who I was (note - I answered the questions correctly but her fat filled ears didn't hear me I guess). As soon as (or if) I can get my account access back I am transferring all money to another bank. I thought Ally was a good idea when they first opened, but it has been all downhill with them for me.

I notified Ally that my insurance would be contacting them for a payoff amount. My insurance paid and the remaining balance was sent to my gap insurance. Months later I get a bill from Ally for what they call a finance charge. When I call, the reps just repeat that I have a balance with late fees assessed because my payment for January and now past due in collections. I have a copy of the exact amount submitted to my gap insurance and the copy of the check for that exact amount. The temps just tell me the amount left is what the gap insurance didn't pay on, but how is that when the check was written for the exact amount that was sent to them to pay..?
I just get transferred to diff depts and yet apparently no one has a supervisor because when I ask for one they just transfer me. I have never in my life loathed a company with a passion as much as I do Ally Financial. After 9 phone calls and hanging up on them because I get nowhere, no one can still tell me what this charge is for and instead of contacting my gap insurance to resolve it, they expect me to play middle man to ask why my gap insurance didn't pay... My sister turned in her Ally Lease on 1-12-17 to the dealership as required by Ally, she was not told the dealership is not considered as an authorized Ally representative. The car sat at the dealership until 1-31-17 when Ally finally had an appraiser come and take pictures, they then send a letter saying there is damage to the car that was not seen by any of us or the dealership, charging her $380 for the damage, that they are not even required to fix. I called for her as she is 79 and I try to handle things for her, the first girl was very rude and did not want to let me speak to a supervisor, but when she finally did the supervisor was just as rude. They refused to listen and was advised that they are not required to tell you that the dealership is not really authorized to take the car back or inspect it, even though that's what they tell you to do.
The supervisor did finally reduce it by $75, but she still had to pay $305 for damages we never saw. They are so rude that no one in my family will ever lease another car from them or deal with them in any way. So she had to pay for the unrepaired damages to the car and they sold the car as is, I think that's called double dipping. Do not lease from this company.

HORRIBLE. Do not bank here. One of the worst banks I have had to deal with in 35 years. My car loan had been paid off since 2/5, it is now 2/20 and it has not been reported as closed to credit agencies so I can purchase another vehicle. Their excuse is that they do it "every 1st of the month" - so I would need to wait from 2/5 when they cashed their $9008 until 3/1 to be able to purchase another vehicle. I have not received a Lien Release either.
Everyone there BARELY speaks English, so if you need to get ahold of someone, be sure you have an hour and a half to wait on hold, and then barely understand them. After the one hour and a half of waiting on hold, be ready to be told different stories by customer service and then their glorified "account manager" - another non-English speaker poor person who has no clue how to do their job. I've been an Ally Auto customer for almost 2 years. After my mother suffered a heart attack, I requested to defer two payments and extend my loan so I could have extra funds to care for her. They granted me the extension and took my down payment immediately, and told me they would fax the papers right over. It's now over 10 days later, and still no paperwork, despite SIX CALLS TO ALLY. Meanwhile, they tell me that if my next due date comes before the paperwork is signed and processed, they will report me as late to the credit bureau.
It's been an absolute disaster of a customer experience. I spoke with 5 different reps over 10 days time, each one telling me I'd have the paperwork within 48 hours. I made a payment on the 8th, received an email confirmation from Ally that the payment was applied on the 9th, and when I call in, the auto account info says the payment was made on the 13th.?? When I inquired as to the discrepancy, the rep rolled three different explanations as I, one by one, shared proof with her that they had my payment in their actual bank account on the 9th.
On the date they claimed to have faxed me, I instead received a different fax. It was official correspondence from a Bank of America representative, to their customer, informing them of rate changes to their account. It contained the customer's full name, contact information, phone number and account number. I'm pretty sure this is a blatant breaking of a regulation... if I was Bank of America, I'd be pretty upset to know my call center is mixing up my faxes with another bank's and sharing secure information so irresponsibly. Yikes.
I finally canceled my extension request, after reading the other complaints about extensions here on this CA forum. I can see the same thing happening to me, as has happened to others, and I don't want to take any chances with my credit rating. I am grateful for these other postings... they saved me from a bad situation. When customers request an extension, it's usually because some stress has occurred in their lives. I am absolutely baffled at how Ally actually increases the stress on you, with their incompetence and lack of honesty.
I would never do business with this bank again... even if it means never again buying from my dealer, who I absolutely love... because this is their preferred lender. I won't support any company that supports Ally. I have lost complete trust in Ally. After this experience, I really do believe their reps are simply unskilled and incompetent in their abilities. Yes, they are obviously outside the U.S., but it's more than that. They are clearly all quite young, and likely don't even have auto payments or mortgages themselves. So they have no understanding of the process they are part of. Many have poor attitudes. In fact, I would even go so far as to suggest these young people are deliberately trying to sabotage Ally's American customers.

Ally bank is impossible to get accurate and needed information, the offshore call center staff is completely worthless and the information given by them is either incomplete or just wrong. My daughter bought a car and the dealership got her a loan through Ally. She was making payments and doing fine, but then the bank started charging late fees every month and when she called the support center would say her account was fine and drop the fee.
After 9 months the amount of time dealing with Ally became more difficult, so we refinanced with another bank. Then suddenly Ally reports 3 30+ day late payments on her credit. We have been fighting these for 6 months with no resolution because TransUnion and Equifax only believe the bank. There were never late payments and never three, yet this is what she has to live with on her credit. She is only 20 and Ally has hurt her start to life! I spent hours on the 5 different phone calls with Ally Bank, simply trying to open and fund a money market savings account. After applying online, I got a letter in the mail saying they rejected my application since they couldn't verify my identity. No-one asked me by phone or email for more information (like a driver's license copy) which would have allowed me to assist them in verifying my identity. Instead, they rejected it outright. I re-applied 2 more times, each time calling Ally's customer service to make sure I was doing everything possible to verify my identity. Customer service told me different things each time. I finally got someone to call over to Deposit Operations to give me a fax number so I could send more information, but I still got a rejection letter in the mail with the same generic "Couldn't verify applicant's identity" response.
Finally, I call customer service once more and ask for a supervisor. He was very kind and helpful and applied for me in his system, which was immediately approved. He didn't know why mine was rejected so many times. So, I then attempted to transfer funds into my new account, but the transfer fails. The website doesn't say why, so I had to call Ally again (for the 6th and 7th time) to try to find out why. They tell me the information for the other account was incorrect, but I verified the numbers over the phone and they were correct. The customer service agent admitted he didn't know what I should do except to try re-verifying the account and trying again.
By this time, I've already spend a total of 6 hours on this account with nothing to show for it and an impending warning from Ally by email to fund my account soon, or the account would be closed automatically. So with no faith for Ally's ability to actually let me use their services, I called Ally for the last time to close my account. People, please stay away from Ally Bank. I spend way more time than I should have giving them the benefit of the doubt. Use your local credit union instead, and I promise you'll save time, and therefore money.

NO LOAN MODIFICATIONS WHATSOEVER. Asked about a personal loan, considering this was our second car with Ally, again, not an option. I told them "come get the car, I cannot afford the car payments and repairs." Was told he could extend the note, he would send me a letter that I sign and send back with the payment. Never got this letter. Called in about it on December 9, and was told I am now past due. After an hour of explaining everything over and over, finally got to talk to a manager. She said she would honor the original extension. They collected the payment of course, and told me the letter would be here in 10 days. It took 12.
Of course the entire time, receiving 3-4 collection calls every day minus Sunday. Signed it and tried to fax it back, the fax number on the letter is answered by a recording. Called for another fax number, had to spend an hour explaining the notes on the account, and was told to use the secure msg option on the website. Finally got it set up, and then the website was down. I called again, and another hour explaining the situation over and over again, was told mail it with the last part of the extension payment. Still getting the collection calls daily. Was told the entire time this account is not considered late, but guess what's on my credit report. Correct, 60 days past due.

FIRST all the people who work for this cheap, pathetic company live in the Philippines, so they have all your personal information including social security number sitting in the Philippines where credit fraud is at a all time high. Nobody speaks English fluently. It took me four hours to change an address on my account due to nobody understanding how to spell my street name. If you ask to speak to someone who is fluent in English they will just hang up the phone. Because they are not in the United States they could care a less about assisting anyone that lives here. To resolve a customer service issue they laugh and hang up the phone. You call back to back and cannot get to a customer service agent/manager no matter what you do.
I ended up calling the bank directly and spoke to a woman in the United States who said she understands my frustration, she gets this call all day long, but could not help because she is not in that department. This is the most horrific experience I have ever had with a company. I do not have the time of day to worry about reviews, but honestly this is almost like being in the twilight zone when you are talking these people. Is hard to believe they are not monitored and can just hang up on you ten times in a row just because they cannot understand English properly. The owner of the bank should be ashamed of themselves. Using cheap labor and not caring about the service they are providing. Do not consider this bank. Avoid at all costs. When given this offer at the dealership decline it. There are other BANKS THAT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. THIS PLACE IS A DISGRACE.

Ally has been THE WORST experience EVER for me and my husband in having to deal with their customer service. The REPS are always in the Philippines. (Can't speak to ONE person statewide!!) We could never speak to the SAME REP, always having to go over everything 3-5 times... Passed around from one to the other. It gets VERY frustrating, especially when we needed HELP! We even had one rep swear that the number he gave us would always just reach HIM. LIAR. Had been promised an extension due to lost job, etc., they said they would send the paperwork, they sent the WRONG papers to sign! Then failed to tell us that! It never happened!! We tried again for an extension and they never sent us the papers, couldn't reach the REP (SEAN) who swore he gave us HIS direct number, to ask where the papers were! When times are tough, don't count on any help from ALLY. The reps give lousy service and DO NOT CARE.
They just towed my truck away... We only had approx. 11 more payments. All we needed was some reliable, down home, human touch, customer service. Statewide!!! ALLY- as a company you should think more towards buyers having contact with ONE person as a Representative to handle anything that happens with that ONE account. Not some random (always) rep from overseas. DO NOT DEAL WITH ALLY - look elsewhere for financing. No human, statewide, service.

Ally Bank is one of the worst banks that I've ever seen. They're very condescending to their customers. We have auto loan with them and they having it in collections for a $390 late but we called them to tell them that we can pay the $390+ current. The phone said that needed $890. We told them that once we get paid around Jan 3 that we can pay it. They refused it, they want the $390 now. ** Ally Bank. That's not customer service. If you don't want to work with customers, you will lose customers. They want to repo the vehicle over about $890 which we told them that we will pay next month.

When asked if I could finish off my loan using my PNC credit card (I was hoping I could accumulate points) I was told there would be a $7.50 fee to do this but that it would be refunded, which it was. WHAT THEY FAILED TO TELL ME IS THAT THEY WERE USING 'WESTERN UNION' TO GET THE MONEY AND THEREFORE I WAS CHARGED $49.01 TO "BORROW" MONEY. What a rip off! I was told that legally Ally and/or Western Union did not have to tell me they were doing this, therefore I believe they did not have the BALLS to do it themselves. Never again!!! They are not a reputable banking institution. The phone # they gave me on the invoice to call was not legit; I had to go to their website to finally reach someone.

I have never wanted so badly to take the time to write a review for a company as much as now, in my 27 years. My car was repossessed, I called and was quoted an amount and a date in return I would be able to retrieve my car. I have paid on time straight for 3 years until I lost my job. I called on the date I was told prepared to pay amount I was quoted. However, each representative I talk to gave a completely different amount, and the car was sent over to the auction before it should have been. I spoke with a man name Wale, who told me, "I don't know why" and did NOTHING to resolve the issue but rely on his script saying "sorry". The most frustrating part of my whole experience, which is the most important of the customer service role was no one would listen, CONSTANTLY, and I am stressing it, constantly TALKING OVER ME. I HAD TO MAKE SURE MY PHONE WASN'T ON MUTE!!!
I request for consumer escalations, I was asked "And why do you need to speak with them"?... with them? It shouldn't have been a question why I needed to speak with the escalations team, if the representative was listening. Therefore, I was told "No". After a day of "I'm sorry this is how much is due ma'am" and being transferred, I was BEYOND FRUSTRATED. The next day I gathering more money, the amount I was quoted. I called no one could find my account, eventually after three calls someone found my account. Then again I was quoted ANOTHER AMOUNT!! This was the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with in my life to the point I wanted to do some damage!! I DON'T EVEN WANT TO GIVE A 1 STAR, ONLY BECAUSE "IT'S REQUIRED".

Our family has been suffering through a terrible time in the past few months. My husband passed away unexpectedly last September after having officially retired five months previously, social security cut off all income due to his death and I immediately had to move in with our daughter. Our daughter lost her job the end of July & didn't find another one until early September. She attempted to pay all of her household bills and car payments while she was out of a job. She was late in paying her car payments in August & September but she made them. She could not make the monthly car payment in October.
She spoke to a person in the Billing Department at Ally who told her to put in a "Deferment of Payment" document which Ally would send to her, requiring her signature, that would add an additional month's payment at the end of the total bill. My daughter signed this document (Which she received a MONTH after the phone call) and sent it back to Ally. A couple of weeks later Ally called my daughter and claimed they did not receive the "Deferment of Payment" document my daughter had sent, so they sent another document and further requested a "good faith" payment of $125.00 which my daughter paid, signed the document and sent it back again. They stated they received this document.
Then the harassing phone calls began. Ally Billing Department called my daughter at least 3 to 4 times a day requesting the payment for October. Every time my daughter patiently explained to the caller about the "Deferment Agreement" she had signed & sent back to Ally and after checking my daughter's history, they would agree. It's all on file. And still they would insist that my daughter pay October's bill as if there was never a "Deferment Agreement" in place. They have called her at midnight or shortly after on at least two occasions.
Around Thanksgiving, my daughter spoke to another representative from Ally Billing Dept and she told my daughter she would resolve the situation and would stop the harassing phone calls... That lasted about two weeks. Today the call came in again from Ally Billing Department with another person wanting payment for October. Is there a "Deferment Agreement" in place with this company or NOT? My daughter had been making timely payments on this car to this company for three years before this happened.

My mother is 78 and I cosigned to get her a car. It is financed through Ally and she got behind on 2 payments so I had payments preauthorized to be paid. I called to make the payment by phone and they wouldn't accept. Took me 5 days to find out account was locked and I had to try to get unlocked. Was given several different numbers but no one would call back etc. By the end of 7 days they repoed the car and cost me additional charges.
On the 9th day I finally was able to contact someone who said I had to make a same day payment and I said that would have been nice for someone to tell me the day I called to make payment but no one could tell me so I made the payment. Come to find out her car was already cleaned out and transported to auction for sale.
Had to go to 2 different places to get plates back and then go to auction to retrieve car then came to find out week after got it back. Got certified letter from them stating had to go to notary to get plates put back in our names which cost me additional 180.00 atop of the 2500.00 paid to start with situation. Could have all been avoided if they would have just took payment on due date when I called instead cost me all this money and almost my mother a heart attack. I filed a complaint at attorney general because of this. Atop of this my son has a car financed through them and was stolen and they won't help locate until it's in repoed mode. Go figure. Then they're wanting him to pay for on top. What a crock.

I have had continuous trouble with Ally financial since the very beginning of my loan. Ally has failed to apply payments to my account. I would have to provide them proof that I had made the payment. Once I provided proof they would find the payment but in the time it took for me to prove that I had made the payment and for them to find the payment, they would charge me a late fee. I have requested a payment history countless times, they always say they will send one. In 5 years I have yet to see a single one. I file an objection, they conduct the investigation on themselves, of course they are going to find no harm on themselves. What a joke.
In addition, if you want to see a credit report ruined overnight whether it is justified or not, just disagree with their dishonest accounting methods or complain about how badly they are robbing you. They don't seem to let the truth get in the way of them making all of the money they possibly can. Ally financial makes Wells Fargo look like honest and charitable. I now completely believe that there is no longer justice, honestly, integrity or truth in the banking industry. Stealing is supposed to be illegal for everyone, yet Ally is allowed to continue these confiscatory practices.
And to add insult to injury, having spoken to Ally hundreds of times, I have only spoken to three or four people that had a basic understanding of English. I find it very discouraging that after the thousands of bad reviews I have seen written about Ally, that not only is Ally allowed to remain in business but also that the upper management of Ally is not in prison.

Complaint filed with CFPB on 11/10/16. They were given 60 days to respond: On April 11th 2016 my vehicle was in a total loss accident. I called Ally Financial on April 15th to notify them that my insurance company had deemed the car a total loss. Unsure how the process worked and relying on Ally to guide me through the process. I was told there was a total loss department and asking to speak with them the agent told me she could not provide me with that number. Soon after I started getting calls from Ally to my work number calling 6 times in a row to collect payment. I then kept telling them the car was in an accident, that I have insurance and gap coverage on the car. Ally reported me late to the credit bureaus in May for 30 days and in June for 60 days.
I was told by my insurance company on several occasions throughout this process they were waiting on Ally to send them a letter of guarantee. Here I am helpless with Ally while they have me in collection and reporting me late and the insurance company cannot get a document from them. This is one of many examples of how my experience was working with Ally. I filed a BBB complaint in June. On July 27 I received a letter from Cynthia ** in Executive Customer Relations. saying that have determined their reporting to be accurate, but as a courtesy they will escalate the concern and would follow up within 1-2 weeks. I never heard anything back. I have left several messages for Cynthia ** with not one returned phone call. I receive a letter from Ally stating I owe them $1,239.05 which is $500 for the deductible; $579.71 (my auto payment) they want paid by 11/30/2016 and the rest is late fees.
After receiving this letter I call in to Ally on 11/8 to see if I can reach Miss **. I was transferred finally to Steven in the so called "Executive Customer Relations Department" after waiting on hold for 35 minutes. I explained to him the situation. He even "agreed" that Ally should have handled this differently when I made the initial call to them on April 15th. He even suggested waiving all fees other than the $500.00 deductible but would have to be sent off for approval (at this point I finally feel like I have gotten somewhere with them). He gave me a reference number #**. I asked if he had a call back number and was advised he could not provide me with one.
I got a call today 11/10 from a Mr. Ronald ** at Ally saying that he received MY request for a credit and Ally would not be waiving any charges and a request had been ONCE AGAIN submitted for review of my credit and should hear something in the next few weeks. I asked him where my response was from Miss **'s request in July since I never got one. He could not answer that. I explained this was offered by Steven. He then advised I would need to refer back to the "Executive Customer Relations Department" by writing them. I am appalled at the professionalism of this company. I have been continuously passed off. All I asked from them was their help and not even could I get that.
My account was in good standing with them up until this accident. My account with my new auto loan is in good standing. I am willing to provide any additional documents or information you need to assist with this complaint. Thank you for your time. 12/10/2016: I received a letter stating that they will be reporting me LATE again. WHY DOES THIS COMPANY REFUSE TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER?

If you can choose another company to do business within the United States, that actually understands and comprehends what you are trying to say, I'd go with anyone else. Even if it's more expensive. Every single time over 3 years I have had my car, when speaking to them I have had issues. I will make payment arrangements and been told to specifically call one person back. Then after making the payment I will go to call that person back and the next person has no idea what I was talking about. This is happened more times than I can count. Today I was on the phone with them explaining that I already made my car payment but it is from a credit union so it takes a couple days to post. I had to explain to this lady what a credit union was. Then she still did not understand what I was trying to say. And kept telling me that a credit union is not a payment option.
When I asked to talk to someone in the United States who would understand what I'm trying to say I was connected with someone else who is just pretending to be from the United States supposedly named Sally who again was not understanding anything and was clearly not from the United States. Then again because I've been told when you asked to talk to someone from here they have to connect to you they again did not and of the third person again was not understanding what I was trying to say so I just hung up the phone. It is literally always a problem. Their customer service is terrible. I can't even count how many times they have messed up my account information and I have been on the phone for hours. Then they inspected it and they said it had two scratches and tried to bill me $400 for the scratches. They had pictures, but so did I and mine did not show the scratches. I have leased cars before from other companies going through other banks and I have never had someone charge for anything after my three year lease. The representative stated they never had my cell phone on file. I then requested to speak to a supervisor: (JR. The Supervisor then did verify to me the number they had and repeated my cell phone but I informed him they notified me they had no cell phone on file. I asked Supervisor to provide me a copy of a letter stating I had not made a payment and he transferred me back to Gina. During the month of October I made my payment using the online website. It stated that I needed to make a payment of 820.00 but I didn't. I always pay more so I made a payment of $1020.00. Once I was done I signed out of the account. On November 12th I receive a phone call from Ally stating that I am 33 days late on my car payment. I immediately stated that the information is incorrect and "give me a few moments I'm going to pull up my bank account". My computer was moving slow so I had to keep telling the lady "give me a few moments my computer is moving slow". After about 10 minutes she hangs up on me. So I review my checking account and notice that the car payment did not come out. I made the payment immediately and called them back. First if I would not have received that call I would have never knew I was late.
I did not receive any phone calls, letter, text or emails stating that the payment was not received. This was all explained to the rep when I called back. She stated that she sees my payment and provided me the same reference number that I had. Plus she created a dispute to make sure that it did not reflect my credit report. I believe everything is good to go. Today, Monday the 14th I get 2 different phone calls stating that my payment has not been received yet. When I started to explain to the first lady she just hung up on me. Then hours later I get another call same thing stating that my payment was not received. I had to go over everything all over again. All the lady kept saying is that she understood but she didn't understand. She stated "I see that you filed a dispute" and I said yes. She said that her manager reviewed it and I have a great relationship with them and it is all taken care of.
Further in the conversation she said that the October payment is late so it will show on the credit report. I literally was in tears. How can I be responsible for their system not taking the payment out. I have never been late and have 2 vehicles with them. All she wanted to do is put me on a deferment. I wasn't sure what she was trying to do. She kept saying that "you have to do it today or the payment doesn't count". I told her NO that I can't believe anything that they say because they lie. I am beyond disgusted as a legitimate ethical US small business owner here in NC, and what has transpired with Ally Bank in the last 2 1/2 years regarding a camper loan. We had a supposed brand new 2014 Viking camper in April 2014, which within days was brought back to dealership with multiple problems including slider coming open on highway! We demanded a refund of all monies paid and contract voided and loan funds returned to Ally Bank. They refused. When my wife dropped off camper at lot, she was locked in gated property for couple hours, 4 men harassed, manhandled her and berated her to tears to sign some bogus paperwork and wanted her license. She was not signatory on loan, only me, yet they brought her to tears and she froze (has PTSD)...
I hired lawyer next day to go after these people first, do the right thing, refund monies, cancel contract return funds to Ally so my credit is intact. They then refused and got their lawyer involved. After 3 months' time, our lawyer filed formal lawsuit against dealership (Sunrise Camping Center / Hickory, NC) and then some months passed again with delays from their lawyer like previously. All this time, the camper has been with dealership and we had been advised to make monthly payments to protect my creditworthiness for my business and self as a legal process was in play, though we did not want this defective product in any way. We went thru all consumer agencies to no prevail. Just papers passed back and forth of what we already knew. But, we had a RV industry expert get hold of us through ripoffreport.com and found other consumers done badly by this dealership.
Then dealership demanded mediation to not go into a trial, and at that mediation, I only asked for our monthly payments back, downpayment returned, loan funds given back to Ally and we all walk away. Dealership refused and said camper depreciated too much in 12 months so offered us $10,000.00, but they could not sell that camper without having clear Title to it! Meaning we would still have to pay several thousands $$ more back to Ally to pay loan in full to get clear title! That made no sense to hear.
Then trial phase proceeded, and all of sudden, our hard hitting caring lawyer filed to stop representing us. At same time, the darn Gen. Mgr from dealership called us one night professing how his conscience bothered him so much the last year and what they did to my wife the day she returned that camper, that he wanted to help us. He said he quit the dealership after our mediation and that the owners were "The Devil" and have done many bad financial dealings to people locally regarding loans from Ally and other banks (getting multiple loans of same people in fact)... Tried telling our lawyer this, he seemed to minimize events by this time and left us anyway. Some say he was paid off or in fear of his business as a good old boy network exists in Hickory/Newton, NC region all the way to some Judges as we were told from local law enforcement contacts we made.
So we frantically tried finding new lawyer to come in so late in this process and had no luck up to day of trial. We went in front of Judge and asked for continuance to find legal representation, and she told us NO. She even scolded us saying she expected us to act like lawyers, and wanted to go forward with jury trial! This was unreal to hear... Within a couple minutes, every charge, fact, witness, docs we had and filing of our previous lawyer was swept under rug and case closed!!! This was NOT justice!
So, after all this time, August 2016, I contacted Ally's collection department and sent them some docs and told them what happened. Several calls during August from Collection agents inside Ally said none of this was ever documented on Ally's system by the person we kept getting letters back from at Ally when we earlier tried to get them to get funds back from dealership. Ally's own collection department people we spoke to said this was wrong of Ally to do to us and was like financial exploitation. I even wrote to Jeffrey Brown, CEO at Ally and he passed my stuff down to a S. **, Executive Customer relations person who again sent back denial letter and said we still owed all monies to Ally, irregardless of events and that the dealership had vehicle since April 2014...
Now as of last week, we were served with letter from a Raleigh, NC law firm Ally has hired to come after us for funds & penalties as we stopped paying monies 60 days ago, after being sick over doing so for 28 months just to please a legal process that never happened... Nobody pays for something they do not have or use of or get any benefit from and countless letters to Ally in past about this seemed to get passed down to low level people and disregarded. Even the NC Dept of Revenue (who we contacted) is looking into this dealership (and maybe Ally) as there is no taxes being paid on that camper which has been with dealership since April 2014.
Consumer agencies do no good for consumers, as it truly seems ONLY wealthy people with lots of monies get justice today. Dealerships like this get away stealing loan funds from banks and banks don't care and hurt decent consumers without looking at facts involved. Ally should go back to this dealership and demand monies back but they don't. NONE of this should ever happen either to us or any consumer.

My lease was for 3 years/12,000 miles a year. I turned the vehicle in with 42,000+ miles, with only 34,000+ miles being actual miles that I put on it. I received mail from Ally indicating that the two rear tires were worn to 2/32nds and the two front tires to 3/32nds and I had to pay for the two rear tires at $195 each.
I spoke to two different subjects, two different times and tried to explain to them that the tires were evenly worn and if they took the 7,200 miles off, that were on the vehicle and tires prior to my lease, there would have been plenty of tread on the tires, by their standards. As you might guess, they had nothing to do with my explanation and still say that I owe them. I can't find a copy of the lease. Does anyone know what the lease states about tire wear? Is their 2/32nds in the lease or does it have other wording?

First let me say, I have owned several cars in my lifetime. Setting up financing was always easy. This time when I went through Autocom in Concord, CA I thought I had learned enough to know what to watch out for and wouldn't fall for shady used car salesmen tactics. I had good credit, but it seemed to take hours and hours to set up financing, despite being pre-approved with my bank at WF. After spending all day at the dealer determined to buy a car (because the cost of a rental car was getting too expensive), I had caught the salesman giving me one set of interest rate, but then handed me another interest rate on a piece of paper by mistake. When I asked about it, I was told that was the dealer’s numbers. Well, I insisted on getting that rate through my bank or I would leave. I got the rate. I signed docs and everything seemed fine.
Accept when I got home and reviewing docs the next day, I notice nowhere on the paperwork is the name of the lender (my bank) whom I was certain my financing was through as Autocom assured me everything went through WF. I inspect the docs in greater detail and I ask where do I send my payment for the following month from the salesperson. He said he didn't know. He then quotes me a higher monthly payment though my paperwork said otherwise. I asked where is the documentation that shows WF is my lender. He couldn't find it. He then agreed to drop my interest rate down a point. I think great. I am emailed a snapshot of the terms, but no details with my name on it and there was nothing to sign. Everything had been signed the day before without a lender specified. Autocom tells me they only know the phone number to the lender and not the name. I find out the lender is Ally Auto.
Fast forward a few months and I am in financial hell. Autocom likes to charge insane amounts of finance charges and late fees when late fees don't even apply. This adds to the monthly by hundreds of dollars, making it impossible to pay off your monthly payment with the multiple false late payments and finance fees. In 11 months, I have paid $1,500 in finance charges. The charges are never consistent, and they are so high that when I do try to pay an extra $200 toward the car for false payments, it doesn't matter. Why? Because when I pay on time and add another $150-$200 on my payment, Ally decides to use nearly the full amount of the extra payment I made to add to the finance charges for the next month, making it impossible to pay off the previous month finance charges and late fees.
My monthly average right now for a 2 year old Jeep Patriot is about $650.00 due to all the extra fees I am paying, but my monthly payment at 7% financing is $350.00 which is far above my budget. When I argue with Ally that the fees are not appropriate because I paid my bill on time, they don't listen. They just add more fees. And struggling to pay these huge fees has now ruined my credit. I can't now turn in this car, because I still need this one to get my child to school and me to work. Thus means I'd have to purchase a car from a hard money lender, just to get rid of Ally as the lender. It's a total mess.
I'm looking into anyone who knows of other shady sales deals done by either Autocom and/or Ally Auto. I would love to file a lawsuit against both for their illegal and unethical business tactics. I'm on the way into Autocom this weekend to find out if there is floating paperwork on Ally with a signature on paperwork I never signed, because there is no way I have an legitimate auto loan through Ally if I never signed off documents with them agreeing to them as my lender when I was trying to use my bank. Nor did the salesmen ever discuss these insane finance charges to me for Ally that I have never incurred before in all my life with other auto dealers. If anyone knows of a great attorney file a class action lawsuit against these crooks, please let me know.

Leased a 2013 Cadillac ATS and turned the vehicle in one month early. 2 weeks later the car was inspected and I was told 2 tires were under 1/8" and would have to be replaced for a cost of $390. Went out myself and measured the tread, and found the tread was 1/8" around both tires. I decided to go ahead and replace the tires. The representative told me they would hold the car at the dealership so I could replace the tires. Turns out they sold the car the next day and moved it off the lot. Called Ally back and they stated they never held the vehicle and recanted. I have leased many times and never had an experience quite like this. Do not lease with Ally. Most people will not listen to this because they are too enthralled about getting a new car and will lease with anyone.

So he told me I would have to pay that day a one time payment so I did. The next day they pulled two car payments out of my account! I immediately called since the second one was still pending and they told me that there was nothing they could do for 14 days... No one would stop the transaction, even after my bank told me that they could if it was still pending. I have filed a fraud case with Ally Financial and will be refinancing with another bank. When approaching the end of my auto lease I was contacted by this company. They called themselves Lease End Process. I thought I was dealing with BMW's Lease End Department, who had been contacting me also. Both answer the phone the same way: "Lease End. Can I help you?" It turned out to to be a front company for Ally lending. Over several phone calls and several days we negotiated a purchase and financing for my car. When I received the contract and assorted paperwork for signature I quickly saw the numbers were very different from what was represented - about $2,800 higher. I called and the rep I'd been working with, Sarah, said someone had made a mistake in the paperwork and she'd get it rectified. By this time, though, it was the last day of my lease.
The following day, she was still working on it, which seemed strange. During the phone calls we had over these two days Sarah's explanation for the miscalculation would change. Suddenly I get a call from a guy named Bob - apparently Sara's boss. Bob was just plain shystie, starting right off with fast talking, aggressive BS. I explained the contract did not reflect what Sara and I had clearly agreed to. Bob would not confirm or deny what Sara had negotiated; he just said the contract was the best deal I was going to get. I said, put Sara on the phone with us and she'll confirm our agreed terms. He refused. I told Bob I wouldn't deal with him because pointless to deal with patently dishonest people, and that Sara should call me, and I hung up.
Sara called a bit later. I could tell I was on speaker phone, and informed Sara I knew Bob was in the room minding her, and that it is unlawful to have someone else present at a speaker-phone conversation without informing the other party. Sara said, okay, that she would hang up and call me back. She didn't, but by this time it was apparent that Lease End/ALLY was not a legitimate operator anyway, and that we were done. So, now two days after my lease expiration, I call BMW Lease End and explained. Their rep had never heard of the other Lease End, nor Ally.
My recommendation: Stay far away from Lease End Process and Ally Bank or Lending. Lease End Process also goes by, or is affiliated with Auto Showcase Inc. Oddly, on the contract they sent, Auto Showcase is named as the Seller. Nowhere does it mention BMW or BMW Financial, which leased me the car and collects my payments. The BMW rep had no idea who they were either, and said his notes on my lease showed nothing about a pending sale contract. Auto Showcase does not own this car. My own time-consuming experience revealed them as thoroughly dishonest. Plus they caused me to go past my lease end date. Fortunately, BMW's Lease End Dept. was reasonable regarding that.

I'll try to make this short. I totaled my truck. After dealing with insurance they told me to contact my GAP Insurance company. I did. GAP sent me an email on what paperwork I need to send to them, few things from the insurance company, and a few things from Ally. My insurance company sent me all the paperwork with ten min to my email, Ally after calling them telling them what happened and what I needed to told me that will be 24 to 48 hrs for them to fax it, this was not going to work for me. I had about two weeks till my payment was due and talking to insurance and GAP the time frame for them to send Ally their checks would take just under that if I got the paperwork in to them, them meaning GAP in the next few days. Back to the 24 to 48 hrs after pushing it with them they said they would mark it so it would be expedited.
Next day am I had one of the papers and after searching I found everything but still needed my payoff from date of loss. So called Ally back after the 48 hrs. Due to work for me being busy I couldn't make a phone call in time to speak to an American. So when I did call I informed them of my last phone call and I was still waiting on the one piece of paper, you know what this lady told me, "it will be 24 to 48 hrs for you to receive it..." Now that just pissed me off. Asked the lady if she didn't just hear what I just told her that I already called and already waiting the first 24 to 48 hrs and I WILL NOT WAIT AGAIN, I had them transfer me to an American supervisor, where I was told I would have it faxed to me by 1pm my time about 4 hrs from when I called. The lady also told me she would personally call me back at 1 to make sure I received it. Well 1pm came and went.
I was and am furious with them now so I waited till the next morning to call, where I found out that my request for MY PAPER WORK was denied. Are you ** kidding me. So I asked when was someone suppose to let me know it was denied. Answer was "we don't call people when they are denied." WOW really so when do you call? No answer after asking this lady 100 times "can you tell me why I had to be transferred." At this point this had to be the 6th different person I have talked to in three days, she finally told me it was because Ally doesn't have a letter of guarantee from my insurance. What that has to do with anything I couldn't tell you. I had this so called letter of guarantee informed the lady of this and told her "I can email it to you right now." Nope was not good enough. It HAD to come from the insurance company. Way beyond fed up I had to hang up.
Had my mom call as she was on the loan with me. She got the letter next day after having to jump through hoops to get it. Ally tried to tell me that they would and will contact GAP for me and send them all the paperwork. I of course told them hell no. They have already cost me 3 to 4 days with their games. I had to fight with this lady over the phone for an hour to tell her they are wrong for what they are doing. Not one sorry. Just everyone repeating themselves over and over and over again. Fast forward a little to a week before my payment was due by this time I have called twice a day for about a week to see if the check was received and has posted but of course called all the way till a day before my payment was due. They wouldn't work with me with tell them the check should be there any day. Nope so I decided to not pay plus it takes 10 - 15 days late to go against your credit.
So after that my ten days was up and had to pay with them telling me that any over payment would be sent out in 24 hrs or less from the over payment showing on the account. So again called everyday to see if all checks made it, This was the 27 grand total for. This long I would have to say 15+ people all told myself and my mom different things. We took it as far as we can go. Spoke with a gentleman who said he would look into it and get back to her. Well he never did so again with us making calls to find info out. My mom spoke with someone on the 9th of this month was suppose to email the company and see where the check is if it was mailed already. We would just have to wait for it if not she would have them next day air it to me.
Well it's now the 18th. No call back. No one knows and still being told different things. We have I bet talked with 40 different reps with Ally and from that we can say that no one in that company knows what their policies are on anything. They will hound you when you owe them money but when it comes to you getting your money back from them they don't care. They are rude and incompetent company that hires the same type of people. I would refinance ASAP. They will treat you like you're wrong. They have no customer service no follow through. They can be lucky that I don't know where their office is. Also tried to file a complaint and you have to write a letter and mail it to an address. No number to call, no email, no fax. Must be a letter. This is one week shy of dealing with this bs for two months now. Almost a month and I still haven't got my money.

This company is a joke! My father-in-law got a car for us in his name through them, and then he went and got himself a car too, financed through them also. He goes and makes a payment on his car, and they screw it up and put it on our account, and it messed everything up on ours. Took them a month to fix everything. Then we fell behind with them on 2 payments, and when I got the money together, I paid them off including all late fees. Then a week later a new payment should have been due. I log in online to make the current payment, and it was saying $0 due and nothing due until the following month, so I have my husband call them to see why it was saying that, and the representative said it was right and that nothing was due until the following month.
So when the next month comes around and I go to make the payment it said the current due and I paid it. Then 3 weeks later I get a letter in the mail saying we were a payment behind plus late fees. Husband calls them again and they tell him they can't talk to him because he's not on the account even though my father-in-law gave them permission to talk to my husband like 10 times in the past, plus the money comes out of our checking account.
It took about 2 to 3 weeks of back and forth phone calls to my father-in-law and them to get somewhere, and here the lady tells us that basically she don't know who my husband originally talked to, and that we need to get a payment in or they will repo the car. Like you can't tell me they don't keep record of calls! And I'm so sick of their ** that I'm ready to tell to just come take the damn thing! We just made a payment last Friday and yes we are behind one payment. They call my father-in-law this morning, and he calls my husband and tells him that if we don't have another payment in by this Friday that they are going to repo.
They like to make huge mistakes and screw people over, and when it's been their mistake they don't want to be lenient in any way for you! They just want to screw you harder! This company is a freaking joke and should not be in business! Our car was supposed to be a 5 yr loan and here it's been 4 yrs, and we still have $10,000 left on the loan. How the hell is it supposed to be paid off in another year? Not possible and they are liars!

Never recommend this bank to anyone. My current balance is 10,500 but every month I want to strangle someone when I see the bill. Just let me give an example. If I owed $200 for this month and when I got the bill I paid $50, and then next bill come again, my balance = 200-50 =150+2.99% = 150.37 Right? Ok, this is what I understood how all other credits card company did >> The balance x %rate then /365 x 30 day for bill cycle.
I asked the rep, "How you calculated finance charge", because every month the total of finance charge it seem like come from whatever number they wanted. Nothing practicing the on the faithful basis. He answered me, my finance charge calculate from previous balance, that's meant they still calculate the interest from $200 instead of $150 even though I already paid $50. Some simple math that customer service who sitting outside USA, that could not answer a simple question. Its sound crook and fishy for this company, if they cheated on customer $2-3 of each how much they make money per month. Then I receive a bill stating that I owed $159 for excessive wear on a front leather seat. They said it was a cut and also stated that the vehicle was returned on July 24th! Both the dealership and I have reviewed the photos and can see a crease, which is normal for leather seats, but not a cut.
Dealership (Betten Chevrolet of Muskegon, MI) has contacted Ally to dispute this charge and told me to call them to find out the results. Guess what??? They continue to say that the seat was cut and that the vehicle was returned on July 24th. The person that I talked to was extremely rude and said I owed $159. How do you fight something like this? They inspected the vehicle 8 days after I returned it and needless to say it is their word against mine. I either pay the bogus $159 or risk damaging my excellent credit. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! FYI I already paid over $4000 for excessive mileage!

Where is my car title? I paid it off on Aug. 5th. They told me it was mailed on Aug. 15th, ten days ago. It doesn't take 10 days to get a letter from Maryland to Chicagoland. I see someone else complained this month about the same thing! My dealership is waiting for the title because I traded in my car. They sent it regular mail. You'd think they had enough money to send it express with all the interest they made. I called and they said they could send a lender's release letter and re-order it if it doesn't come by tomorrow. I am not happy with the extremely slow service.

It was a horrible experience. When it came time to have an appraisal at the end of the lease, it went bad. We called for about 3 weeks, never got anywhere. They never returned a phone call. Customer service was over seas and these people had no clue. NO ONE could help us. They all don't know what is going on and have to reach out to someone else that supposedly could answer the questions. NOT. And then when answers not answered still we get a call and they threaten with collections. We will never be dealing with them again. They sent a letter that said I had 7 business days to get my own appraisal. Like Hell. They already moved on within a day or 2. Never deal with Ally Bank for a car lease!!!

We turned in our 2014 Cadillac SRX with only 31,000 miles on 6/29/16. The Michelin tires on it were rated for 55-60k miles (we saw wear on them when turned in BUT they still had plenty of life left). 2 weeks later received a nasty letter from Ally with a bill for $803.40 for excessive wear & tear to all 4 tires! Talked to 5 different people at Ally, one even stated we could get a quote for cheaper tires & settle the debt. Little did we know the car had been sold at auction on 7/13/16! What a nightmare, they are calling up to 3-4 times a day & everyday at least 2 letters in our mailbox. This is pure harassment, we have never been spoken to like we have by these people at Ally trying to collect this money we do not feel we owe! This is the 4th Cadillac we have leased & we have never had any issues before, but we never leased through Ally Bank until this 2014 Cadillac. We WILL refuse to have any dealings with Ally in the future! Consumer beware!

I called to find out the balance on my account, and wasn't expecting the security questions. I couldn't remember the answer to one of them so I was asked my username. I mistakenly thought the username was my email address so I gave them that. They told me they were going to transfer me to their supervisor (???) and while waiting I remembered the answer, but didn't want to stay on hold because I was sitting in a hot car (no A/C). Turns out they froze my account online.
I call with all the correct information to get it unlocked, and the first sales rep (Cathy) starts to talk over me, become irate despite me being respectful in describing the problem, cutting in on me and raises her voice to me, and hangs up during the 3-5 minute wait to transfer my call. She tells me they'll call back in three days to resolve the issue after I tell her I'll need access to the money sooner than three days. She says in a condescending manner, "We'll call you in 3 days to discuss what YOU can do to prevent this from happening again." As if I were a child being put in timeout for being "bad".
The next person I call tells me they'll call back in 2-3 days. I tell her I need the money sooner, so she says she's going to "transfer" me and also hangs up during the so-called transfer. The third, I tell him, "Please don't hang up on me this time." He assures me they won't has me waiting 3-5 minutes only to say "another 3-5 minutes" and again, and then says he has the other department on the line looking at the notes, and that I'll have to wait another 3-5 minutes only to then hang up again.
I contact the online chat customer service and they offer to help and then claim that I have to be able to access my account (which is the entire problem that I'm contacting customer service for which after TELLING HIM my problem says that he can help me on said problem) to be able to access my profile. To view the "notes" about the call and the issue in order to resolve it and that I have to call customer service again. Can't online customer service do exactly what the customer service over the phone is able to do - why would they need ME to log in when they can view the "notes" without needing my login on the phone? Over something simple as human error - forgetting the answer to the security question. If they are going to hang up repeatedly then logically I expect them to also not call back in 3 days. They keep saying they need to review notes to find out the problem.
The problem was resolved, I forgot the answer to the security question, gave them the correct security question numerous times along with correct account information (whatever they asked). The first call was only yesterday. They record calls, it's my voice. Same person. I've called a month or so ago so they know it's me who is calling and not someone stealing my card or information. It is the definition of ridiculous. All this to find my card's balance. I have a different online account, with BBVA Compass, and it's NO drama total ease to access my card balance on the phone with them. I've misentered information there and no one hung my account up for days with rude, passive-aggressive BS on the phone.

I had an account with Ally Bank in 2012. At the beginning of 2013 Ally did some kind of software upgrade to their system. I was paying all of my bills with their bill pay system. After the upgrade the system started to make payments of bills that I had removed from the system. One such bill was a rent check for a place I hadn't lived in for two months. This check bounced due to insufficient funds and I was locked out of the system. This was just one of many checks that bounced which should not have been sent out to begin with.
Customer service told me that it was impossible for their upgrade to have done this. They demanded that I send them money to cover the multiple charges on my account. They continued to send out checks and I was powerless to stop it because I was locked out of the system. I had no choice but to stop depositing into this bank. They absolutely refused to resolve this problem because they could not have been at fault. Absolutely worst customer service ever. This was a nightmare of an experience. Now I can't open any new accounts at any other bank because I have been blacklisted by Ally. If this happened to me after their upgrade it must have happened to others also.

Various agents have said they would 1) FedEx a duplicate title but another agent said they do not have duplicates and need to wait for the return letter when I called to say I didn't receive the FedEx, 2) Will fax over a lien release letter within 4-24hrs. When I called to say I didn't receive that either, an agent says it takes 24-48hrs. I talked to an Asst Supr who said she would rush the fax request again. I recently had to contact customer service at Ally to get confirmation that my auto loan had been paid in full. I needed this info in order to close on a mortgage loan. As you might know mortgage underwriters love waiting until the last minute to spring conditions on you and this was no different. I called Ally and explained what I needed and why I needed it quickly. They said that it would take anywhere between 24 and 48 hours to be able to fax over this one document. When I explained why that wouldn't work they didn't seem the least bit interested in doing anything to help. All I heard was that there was nothing they could do.
As a result I missed the deadline to have my conditions submitted to the mortgage company and it pushed my closing date back by two days. I was able to get the exact same info from Southeast Toyota Finance for another auto loan in about 4 mins over the phone. How one company can send a fax immediately and another takes up to 48 hours is completely beyond me. I will never do business with them again and I would recommend that no one else do business with them either.

On the following Tuesday I tried to log into my account but was unable... apparently my account was locked by someone named Kimmi. I immediately called customer service and though the rep was very friendly, she couldn't help me, but did tell me Kimmi needed more documentation which I sent in immediately. A few days go by and I have heard not one word. Nothing from this mythical Kimmi; no email, no phone call, nothing. Account still locked. Called again, rep tells me that my photo deposit cleared and money is in account... yet I can't access it STILL. More unreturned phone calls to Kimmi. So they cashed my payroll check, and are basically holding it hostage. I can't log in, can't activate my debit card or anything.
I called CS again. I'm totally broke now. They have nearly $300 of my money and I can't access it. I need it to pay my rent. They respond "Sorry, you have to talk to Kimmi. No one else can help or override her." That's ridiculous. At this point I wouldn't bank with them if they lured me with a million dollars. I just want my money. TODAY. Not Monday or Tuesday or whenever. I needed it this past week. I live paycheck to paycheck. This is unethical at this point. There is no timeframe from them... still can't get in touch with Kimmi no matter what day or time I call. They have basically stolen my money at this point, and I will be contacting someone regarding this issue. It's insane.

Escalated to David, informed him that the check exceeded to loan amount on the vehicle. Inquired about just applying the amount to pay off loan. Was told that this request was outside the scope of the agreement and couldn't be done.
07/06/16 - 15:32 CST- Incoming from Ally - Was asked about repair order or insurance estimate on vehicle. Call terminated. 07/06/16 - 15:36 CST Contacted - (Unknown) was told they did not receive a check. Asked why someone would call me about a repair invoice if they didn't have a check. Case opened. Was then informed that they did in fact receive the original check. Was instructed to fax the RO and Insurance estimate to Ally. They said once they received, they would endorse the check.

Was told to immediately send the check back, they would endorse, and send back within 24-48 hours. 07/22/16 - Mailed check back with RO and insurance estimate again.
07/29/16- 12:19 CST - Contacted Ally again- (Roger) asked about status of check. Was told they received check, but they needed a copy of Repair Order. Told him the story once again, and told him the RO was in envelope with check. Escalated again to Anthony - Told him story once again, told that the escrow department needed a copy of RO. - Escalated to (Female) in Escrow. Was told that they needed a repair invoice from a Certified Repair Facility. I informed the woman that the vehicle is in MY shop and Daniel (My help) and I were doing the repairs. She asked if I was a certified shop, I said no, it's not required in Texas. (I have been doing body work for 37 years). She said they would have to see the repairs. I invited them to come and see. She then suggested that I use the check to just pay off the loan. (See conversation on 07/01). They are now sending the check back (Once again) for me to endorse and just pay off the loan.
My concerns are that once I endorse the check, they will have a new excuse for not providing me with the balance, or keeping the balance, or even losing the balance. I am beyond frustrated with Ally and do not understand. The check is almost double what the loan amount is. Ally obviously mislead me on too many occasions and now we have an integrity issue. I have no idea what to do.

I have never been so disappointed with the financial institution for leasing a vehicle as I have with them. I have been leasing vehicles for the past 12 years. I have always leased vehicles from foreign manufacturers such as Lexus, BMW, Mercedes. After driving in Buick Enclave as a rental car in a trip I have decided to at least one. During my lease there were no issues due to my own time payment. I have been busy with work and have decided to extend my lease for additional 3 months. There were several issues with me making payments due to the fact that their departments could not process it correctly. I have spent hours and hours being on the phone trying to clarify and extend the lease with the additional $60 fee that they charge to me each month.
Finally when I did return the vehicle they sent me a bill for over $1,900. I was speechless. They had over $400 on excess wear-and-tear which was not justified in my opinion. I have never ever had to pay any excess wear-and-tear with any of my other vehicles. Not only they wanted to charge me for a line on the edge of the vehicle which was definitely due to normal excess wear-and-tear. They also wanted to charge me for an extra tire which was worn out due to alignment issues which I've had with this vehicle since day one. They never calculated the $1,210 payment that I have made towards the last 2 months of the contract extension.
Making the long story short I ended up spending hours after hours of calling, yelling, screaming at the people that had no brain to understand the situation and after having almost a nervous breakdown I had no option just to pay the bill after they deducted the last two months' payment from it. I had no more energy to fight the excess wear-and-tear which was brought up to their attention from day one of lease return. They never sent me the instruction of what to do and how to get it fixed myself for less. Overall I will never ever ever work with a company that has Ally Financial as their banking. I am back with Lexus and I'm very happy that I did so because I know I will never have an issue with them. I have a horrible customer service and they are out to just get your money. Stay away from them and never do any work with them.

I thought Ally might be a different kind of bank than the big ones who keep getting fat while I kept working harder and ending up with less. About 3 years ago I switched to ALLY and cut up all my credit cards. Unfortunately, I lost my job about 6 months ago and it's been rough. I finally am employed again. Two of my jobs will do direct deposit when they start in late August, and the one I just started gives me paper checks only. So Wednesday, I deposited the paper check (online mobile deposit) And the next day was told it wouldn't be available for my until the 26th (7 days - 5 business days).
The reason is that during this rough patch my balance got too low and I'm red flagged as a risk. This will be in place for 6 months. If I have another overdraft, it gets extended another 6 months. Do you realize that most people are homeless because of a very thin ** over the line: one bounced check, one wrong lover, one late night and boom... your funds get withheld, you incur other late fees, you can't pay your bills, you can't eat, you get evicted, you do something you regret and boom... jail and the downward spiral.

So, reading these reviews, I'm seeing that maybe their auto loan system is less than stellar. I only use them for banking, so I wouldn't know. But I can tell you that they are the best bank I've ever dealt with in a banking-only capacity. Everything in their online banking makes sense. Balances and available funds are always up-to-date. Transfers between Ally accounts happen immediately, even on holidays. They give you notice a week in advance when their site is going to be down for maintenance. Questions that aren't addressed in their FAQ are answered quickly and accurately by their online chat representatives. Phone support is always available, and it doesn't seem like they're outsourcing that job to other countries. Even at 3am, their phone reps speak a standard North American dialect of English. And the interest they pay on savings accounts is phenomenal by today's standards. I'm constantly recommending them to everyone I know.
The only problem I've ever had was that my wife, who already had a checking account with them, was denied a savings account due to her weak credit. (She tried again about a year later and was approved.) I've never heard of another bank denying a savings account for credit reasons, but a friend of ours had the same problem trying to open a savings account with Ally. Ally Bank has incredibly deceptive business practices. In one example, they advertise FREE international transfers, only to have their intermediary bank (Chase), assess fees. Since Ally forces customers to internationally transfer THROUGH Chase, Ally is therefore charging fees, but they never warn of this or take any responsibility. Instead of understanding this, Ally pushes me to contact Chase directly, who I am not a customer of nor care to be. They blame me and take no responsibility. The only course of action after speaking to representatives? I would need to MAIL or FAX a report to their banking team - they claim they have no email or secured messaging (lie) support to do this, despite being an online-only bank. Their website is full of deceptive marketing and probably fake reviews and ratings. I wouldn't touch this bank. My husband and I financed our Hyundai through Ally Financial. When we went to purchase our home, the loan officer needed my name removed from the car loan. I contacted Ally Financial to discuss my options. I was informed that I could not refinance through them but I could do a Transfer of Liability. I asked them to fax me the necessary paperwork. They said it would be 24-48 hours before I would receive it. After three days of no fax, I went online to retrieve the paperwork. I called, again, to be sure I was doing everything right with the transfer and was then informed that the transfer would take 21+ days to process. I took a day to discuss this with my loan officer.
I called Ally, again, and was told this time that if I transferred liability, not only could I never transfer it back, but my husband could no longer be on the car loan. Once we discovered this was not an option, we decided to borrow money and just pay off the entire car and satisfy the loan. I called Ally to get the payoff amount and told the representative that I would be calling in later that week to make the payment and he said it was fine. When I went to call the payment in, I was told that I could not make that large of a payment over the phone, nor could I make it online. I needed to send a check and once the check was received, it would take 10 days to process.
Fine, I sent the check June 7th. They claim they didn't receive the check until almost 2 weeks later. Once they received it and I could see the payment applied to my online account, I called to have them fax over my Release of Lien. I was told it would take three days to process that request. When three days came and went, I called to check the status. I was then told the Release was on hold and wouldn't be available until the next day. I was told to call back the next morning and they would fax it to me. I called the next morning, only to be told it was not available to be faxed yet. I called for the last time the following day and was told it was available but it would take them 24-48 hours to fax it to me...
Extremely frustrated, and fearing this would delay my closing, I asked for the supervisor. After speaking with her, she said she would expedite the request. I then proceeded to get called over and over and over (while at work) until I finally answered. They were claiming my fax was not working and when I explained that it was a business fax and it was working fine, the representative hung up on me. Finally, I contacted the Title Department in Maryland directly, and they faxed over the Release, no problem.
Long story, but the point is... they outsource their customer service and it not only makes it difficult to understand the representative, but it makes it difficult to get proper and correct information. I was repeatedly given incorrect information and, what should've taken a week took almost two months to resolve. If you're thinking of financing through Ally, DON'T! What a mess of a company. Customer Service definitely needs an update in training!

Beyond the typical language and cultural boundaries, the customer service staff is not well trained to handle the vehicle turn-in process. I made four separate, documented phone calls to Ally after I returned my vehicle to Ourisman Chevy in Alexandria, VA. During the first three phone calls, Ally told me they had not received the odometer statement from the dealer even though the dealer told me they faxed the statement to Ally twice (the salesman even told me the faxes typically get picked up at Ally with other faxes, so Ally says it does not receive them).
Finally on the fourth phone call, Ally was able to confirm that they had received the statement. When I asked how long it would take for them to provide the final bill, they did not know and could not explain why they did not know. This was frustrating because I turned in the vehicle early to avoid this very situation, and I have a set amount aside to take care of any damages.
In my search for a new truck, I talked to a few local dealers, and without me mentioning Ally, three separate dealers said Ally was a nightmare to deal with because they are just are not reliable. After a few conversations, I decided to forego buying a new truck from GM because I did not want to deal with Ally again, my trust was finished, and I went with another car company.

I've leased with BMW for 10 years and have never had an issue with any car. I take very good care of my cars as if they were mine. I prefer to lease as I don't use a lot of miles since I travel for a living. ALLY is the worst experience I have ever had. They show me a picture of an alleged 7-in dent. I knew it was a very small dent but even in the pictures I do not see a 7-in dent. I'm pretty sure I would be able to notice a 7 inch dent - I would have had it fixed. Now they are harassing me. I said I would pay for the scratch but not the dent. They will not work anything out with me. I asked for a dispute, they never sent me any paperwork or called to work things out - only to collect money and say the dispute was denied. So it's only a one-sided dispute. How is that a dispute?
I will never lease from Troncalli in Cumming, GA or from Ally ever again. They should be ashamed of the way they treat their customers. Ripping everyone off and there's no way to dispute. I turned my lease in with 6,000 less miles. Sending me two statements in one week is harassment. Calling me daily is harassment. DO NOT LEASE FROM THIS COMPANY.

I was told by the supervisor that $126.73 was still owing on the principal amount because the automated system gave my bank the incorrect payoff amount. They never did make it right no matter how many people I talked to. I run my own business and would never treat people like that. When my husband and I first started our lease we asked for an extra 15,000 miles in which we paid for in our payments. When we returned the car we only had 31,000 miles. We paid and extra $3700.00. That was on us. We returned the car to the dealership that we bought it from and I took pictures. Lo and behold we get a bill for $486.00 for 2 rear tires, due to excessive wear. Really this is a $48,000 car and the tires didn't last 30,000 miles!! They had called me several times, and I have explained to them take it from the $37,00.00 they have of our money. She even told me that my tires must have been out of alignment. THEY WERE REAR TIRES.
I also pointed out that the front tires went the same mileage as the rear but to no avail. I told them if we are buying new tires, I want the old ones. They said impossible they already sold the car. She even offered to take money off if I can find a cheaper price for the tires. Really!!! We are taking them to small claims court. I think we should start a class action suit. They have taken us all for a ride on perfectly good tires.

I have an auto loan with this company that I got at the time I financed my vehicle. The challenge I'm having with this company is early payoff. I make a partial payment 5 days a week and instead of always applying that partial payment to the principal, at least on 5 occasions they have absorbed 100% of those payments made and applied it to the interest. (I may as well have just burned that money.)
I spoke with them for over 3 weeks about it. Instead of using that time to fix it as they promised, they use the 3 weeks to try to find new ways to cheat me. Then they kept trying to give me an explanation that made no sense. My next payment isn't due for 4 months from now, but I am going to try to refinance with the credit union instead. If you are a person who pays off debt as soon as possible, run from this company. I knew nothing about them when the dealership sold them my loan at 5.99%. I would not recommend this company and I will never use them again.

They have increased the amount owed over the last three phone calls. The last one just told me that I actually have a pay off amount that is owed. I had a car loan with Ally Financial. As I was coming to the end of the term I purchased and new car and Ally sent a payoff figure to myself and the new dealership. The new dealer paid the invoice and the car was returned and listed in perfect condition. A few days later I went on the Ally Financial website and saw that my account had been satisfied and there was a zero balance. Life went on.
A few weeks later I started receiving at least 1 phone call a day from Ally saying I owed them $610. I explained to them on the phone and in writing several times that all records had shown a closed account with no balance. They continued, and continued, and continued. I had to block their phone number from the amount of calls I was getting. They keep sending invoices and threats to damage my credit. I contacted the new dealership many times and they insist the full amount was paid to Ally and I have all of the information that supports a satisfied loan and a closed account. How can I get Ally to stop harassing me and threatening my credit?

So I hand in the car at the dealership I bought it from... no one would meet me there nor look at the car. It sat there for almost a month and I have video and pictures when I left it there. They don't want to see them. lol. So 8 weeks later yep you guessed it a BILL FOR 645.00. I called them to get a buyout for my Jeep lease to trade it early for another vehicle. They gave me the buyout figure, I made the deal with the dealer and went home with the vehicle. The next morning I get a call that Ally Financial told the dealer that payoff was just for me. The dealer had to pay $3000 more to pay off the vehicle??? WHAT??? No dealer I've spoke with has ever heard of anyone doing this. The dealer was on the phone with ALLY for over an hour trying to straighten it out. So, the dealer took the new vehicle back and I got my Jeep back. ALLY told the dealer that I could take my vehicle back to the dealer I got it from (the Jeep dealer) and they would pay the same pay off amount as me.
So, today, I did that. Took it back to the Jeep dealer, was ready to walk out with another car and guess what happens. ALLY says this dealer has to pay $3000 more too. I'm furious!!! Does anyone there even know what they are talking about?? And after reading all the other horrible reviews about ALLY I'm scared what's going to happen when I go to take the vehicle back at the actual end of the lease. Is what they do even LEGAL??? I really wanted the vehicle I was looking at today and feel sick that ALLY has screwed me and I can look forward to nothing better apparently. I will make sure to tell everyone and anyone who asks to stay away from ALLY.

Ally put me through the wringer during a lease takeover application. I would give them clearly adequate information, and then they would ask for something else. They do not communicate via email, citing "security concerns", yet I regularly get emails from American Express, Chase Bank, TD Bank and the like, who seem to have dealt with security concerns just fine. I not only have decent credit, but offered to pay the balance of the lease IN FULL in my application. No matter, this was an excruciating process.
Finally, when I called, I was told I was being mailed a "determination letter", information that they will not give on the phone - not even a "Yes" or "No" decision. And of course, their "underwriting department" does not take phone calls. After 9 days of waiting for this letter alone, I called off the transaction after 3 1/2 weeks total.
A big factor in my quitting the deal was reading the reports on this website (and other sites as well) about how difficult it is to deal with Ally Financial, and knowing that, among other things, if I ever got to lease a car through Ally, there is a strong chance that I would get no end of grief at lease end regarding the condition of the car as returned - read those reports for yourself.
The lease transfer, if approved, costs almost $ 600.00 if you go through with the deal. But they seem to not really want to complete these transfer deals. If it were a new application, I suspect the process would take no more than a day or two. My strong advice is this: if you must lease a car, find a different leasing company than Ally. From what I read online, they seem to be one of the worst concerns to deal with, if not the worst.
Updated on 05/01/2016: Finally received "determination letter." It says that they don't have enough credit history for my 26-year-old corporation to make a determination, so it's not approved. Well, yes, my corporation has never borrowed one cent, but how was I to know that would be considered "negative?" No matter that I had offered to PERSONALLY GUARANTEE the lease - and yes, my credit and assets are certainly good enough for this.
Worse, it took 11 DAYS to get the letter. "Not enough information" isn't exactly something you keep secret if you REALLY want a transaction to go through. If Ally really wanted to do this transaction (and collect their almost - $600 fee), they would have called or emailed. My conclusion is that Ally is either incompetent or just plain happy to stick the original leaseholder with the car, knowing that they have them over a barrel. So this was a lesson learned. And it only cost me time. In retrospect, I'm glad this didn't go through, because the pain would have come later, at lease end.

At the very beginning of my lease through Ally I knew I made a mistake! The payment due date was wrong. When I called to have it changed I was told there would be an $85 processing fee. I told them THEY made the mistake. The lease papers from the dealer had the right date. I guess their data entry department has a problem with accuracy. So from the first payment to the last I waited for the late payment notice to arrive, then my automatic payment would make the payment. That's just the way it worked out. I was never more than 30 days overdue so it was never reported to the credit bureaus. But they made the USPS happy.
So now, three years later, I return the car. I had found and bought the car of my dreams. I turned the leased car in to the dealer where I bought the new car. Then the paperwork starts. First I'm told I owed about $750 for wear and tear. I just thought that was the cost of learning my lesson. Then I received another notice telling me to wait for a final accounting after the car goes over the auction block. About 2 weeks later I get the final bill. I knew I still owed 5 months payments for the early turn in but the final accounting for excess wear was reduced from $750 to around $270. The car brought more at auction than the residual value taking care of part of the wear and tear. Oh well! At least I'm done with these people.
But not so fast. I don't have much money in the bank but I pride myself for paying everything on time or earlier. That's how my credit score got to 823. So now I call Ally to pay the bill. Here's the straw on the camel's back that prompted me to write this review. They will take my credit/debit but there will be an EIGHT DOLLAR FEE. That's when I lost it. All Ally's credit card transactions are handled by an outside contractor, like Wells Fargo, who, by the way, financed my new car, and they need to be paid too. Sounds kinda like one hand washing the other in the Good Old Boys Club to me.
So I tell the rep "I will NOT PAY SOME OTHER BANK to process a credit card transaction to YOUR BANK!" I sent them a check for the full amount on April 20. It's now the 28 and I get a warning notice that my payment has not been received. Back on the phone, and by the way they don't include a phone number on either of the 2-page warning. Are you kidding me? I dug the number out of my circular file and called. I gave them the check number, for how much, the date I wrote it and the day I put it in the mail box. Told them again I'd be happy to pay right now by credit card. Same $8 story. Told them, in no uncertain terms, I will NOT PAY a processing fee. Told them to send me another notice. If the check hasn't cleared by then I'll pay them directly by armed secure carrier at the nearest ATM, right around the corner. Let's see how that works. Am I justified in my actions? It's getting to be fun now.

Two complaints. Pre-Ally Financial bankruptcy, we almost lost our home to them because of their errors. We paid on time, however payments were not being applied correctly to our account. We did not know until the foreclosure process was started and their errors were uncovered. By then, my credit was in ruins because of this. Thankfully (I think), our loan was sold to another bank who helped correct this. The program GMAC/Ally we were part of was bad. GMAC/Ally acknowledged this in public, but was not reprimanded, nor apologized, nor fixed the bad credit reports for the participants. They went bankrupt or filed for protection then re-emerged as Ally.
And then we got a car lease through them. I thought we leased or new car through our previous leasing company, but it was Ally. Not only did they fail to send me any info of how and where to pay, they failed to honor the free 1st month lease payment which they said they would waive. Then, after making 100% on-time payments, I'm mysteriously 2 months behind. Exactly as before. I think I was paying early and they are failing to apply the payments properly. Almost exactly the same problems as with my mortgage. Payments made early of the due date by a couple weeks are not applied. 5+ years apart. Same problems. How are they even allowed to keep their doors open???
