We leased a Buick Enclave who used Ally Bank for financing for 3 years but as we were moving out of the country we had to advertise for a lease takeover. Ally Bank stalled each application and misinformed us on the process that we lost every application. They insist we pay the full term and hand in the car with the unused mileage. Their call centre in Philippines are useless and their leasing department and process is archaic. They even insisted applicants complete the 'office use only' sections. Ally Bank would not even accept email or scanned applications and insisted it got mailed which takes them 2 weeks to review.

I have auto payment from my bank and after 4 years I wanted to pay my loan off. I requested a pay off bill on March 2nd and never received it. I called back on March 9th to state that I never received the bill. I was told that it will be coming. I never received it by March 11th so I called back. I was told that they will send another bill with additional finance charges based on the additional days. They have all the information recorded that I made all the calls and refused to waive the additional finance charges. This is the last time that I do business with Ally. The purpose of this feedback is to alert anyone that is considering Ally.

I received a letter from Ally Bank addressed to my deceased husband because due to a report from ChexSystems, Inc. my husband was denied a checking account. (Still can figure out what credit has to do with a checking account that requires a deposit to open.) I called the bank's phone number and the first person I spoke with said that since it was addressed to my husband, they would have to talk with him. I had just said "He died four years ago." I replied, "That's going to be difficult" when she spoke along with me, "But he died." Duh! ChexSystems, Inc. phone number given to me from letter from Ally produced five ads before telling me the phone was no longer in service. I called the forwarding number and hear some more ads, but no response. I can find no one to handle this, when they know a fraud is being committed.

I will never use, or recommend, the use of a bank or credit reporting system that does not have four brick walls and personnel to handle their business. Now I have to watch repeatedly for my own accounts since my bank and others have a hard time removing a name from a file that is in dozens of department of the bank. Ally had an application number on my letter that they could open a file and read; the fraud department had that order number on file and agreed that the report said my husband had died. So what is with this? Informing me that his application was denied is ridiculous. The application itself should have been rejected. I'm not sure now whether it is the Ally or ChexSystems, Inc is responsible for this and I can only hope I've nipped the problem in the bud.

Here is the way the business model of Ally and any other large corporation works: They are interested in making money. That is all. If you become a problem in this money machine they will do anything to satisfy you. If you have a grievance with Ally sue them. If it is a small amount of money - say under $2000 - They will quickly settle. Because they know it costs more to fight the lawsuit with $300+ an hour attorneys than to settle. Here is how: Find the resident agent for Ally in your state. (This is the hardest part); Write a letter to the resident agent c/o Ally Financial; Wait for response. Sue the resident agent in small claims court if they don't reply. (They almost always do - Ally called me yesterday - March 10, 2015).

My Toyota Yaris was repossessed on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from the Vehicle Recovery Facility at 305 Metropolitan Grove Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. I filed a Show Cause Order in Action of Replevin suit against Ally's Baltimore resident agent on the same day. In December I paid all fees for the return of the vehicle. There was a signed legal agreement with Ally that Ally would apply the repossession fees to my account. Ally has charged me $180 more in "miscellaneous fees" in violation of our agreement. The Ally representative stated this was for the repossession.

When I took possession of my vehicle there was extensive body damage to the front hood, bumper and grille. I had an appraisal done at Zamora's Auto Body, 772 E Gude Drive, Rockville MD 20850. The auto body mechanic indicated that the damage was clearly from towing damage. Zamora's estimates the cost to repair my vehicle is $1251.55.

When I opened my savings acct I was told the interest is compounded daily but only posted once per month. I was told the fifth of each month. Here it is at 8:00 pm on the 5th, I called the 800 number because as a new customer I thought there might be a problem. The response I got was infuriating. It is only 8 pm where you are. We have until midnight. While that is technically true, if they do not plan on crediting the interest until midnight on the 5th why wouldn't they just publish that statements come out on the 6th. In a time where everyone is skeptical about their banks, this seems like a stupid policy and one that only adds more suspicion by their customers as to the bank's motives.

My wife has an acct. with Ally and we have auto debit on the acct. When they do not debit our acct. on the due date they tack on more interest. If the due date happens to fall on a Holiday or week-end then they calculate the interest for more days in the period. Thus they make more money from this and they will not do anything to help. They say that's the way it is set up through some institute. If Ally does this check your auto debit acct and see if you are having the same problem. It's a rip off for the people that makes them RICH. You and I.

I had an auto loan with GMAC which was turned over to Ally Financial. I bought my truck in 2008. I recently paid the truck off. I was told that after paying your vehicle off and because I made my payment off of my debit card and not a cashier's check that they would hold it an extra 10 days. Well, 10 days came and went and still no title. I have been trying to obtain my title since Jan of 2015. My registration is now expired and now I have no way to work. I called Ally Financial numerous times about my title and every time you call them you get someone different on the phone. All they do is give you the run around. They promised me it would be in the mail before my registration expired. Well it's now expired. I don't know who they think they are. That title is now my property along with my truck which I paid 21,000 for. I don't owe them anything!!!

You don't have to pay that. We change date now." I soon received a letter asking did I forget my payment due on the first. I immediately call and they state "Yes you are 27 days past due" trying to over talk me. I was told the due date is now the 22 of February. I tried to get a deferred payment for that payment and they denied saying "You have to make a full payment." If I had that I would not be asking for deferred payments.

I read comments where ALLY purported to negotiate with the consumer and in the process of doing so, they repossessed the vehicle. Well, the same thing happened to me. Admittedly, I was late with payment due to loss of employment and illness. Not only did I make the negotiated payment as promised, the promised extension paperwork did not come to my residence until over two weeks later. I did not hear from anyone during the interim and usually, ALLY calls consistently when there is a problem.

Well, ALLY came and repossessed the vehicle on a Friday evening. Since you cannot get to anyone until Monday, we had to sit and wait. Monday, I got a hold of the account manager who negotiated the extension and he claimed that he called me and left messages. There were no messages or calls indicated from ALLY in my phone queue. When I tried to explain this, he proceeded to overtalk me. I then asked him what would happen if I showed him that the funds were taken out my account. He insisted that there was nothing he could do. He then called back later and asked me to fax the bank statement, which I did. He then called again to say that I needed to take it up with my bank because they could not find the money. I protested and he insisted that there was nothing he could do.

I filed a motion in the Federal Court and the Court granted me an emergency hearing, I served the papers upon them by fax, as permitted by the Court. An operations then manager called me and proceeded to tell me that they could not find my payment, and I then asked her what was the purpose of the call.. She proceeded to argue with me and overtalk me in a loud, aggressive tone. She first said that she called me and then said that no one could call me because I had a cease and desist letter. I replied that I found that interesting because notwithstanding, they did call me. Also, her statements were inconsistent. We went to Court the next day and the judge asked ALLY's attorney if they returned the vehicle. He said that ALLY agreed to release the vehicle and remove any inference of repossession from my credit.

Of course, when I called the repo man to tell them that I was coming to get my vehicle, they indicated that they had not received correspondence from ALLY. I called ALLY and the same operations manager comes on the phone and has the nerve to say that we could have negotiated the matter but I chose to take matters "that far". I reminded her that she repeatedly told me that there was nothing she could do and she was conducting herself in a manner that was going to cost the company some money. She was unprofessional and hostile and apparently they train their people to act accordingly.

Although we did not have to pay the repo fees and excess charges, ALLY was dishonest, and engaged in a deceptive practice designed to separate the unwitting consumer from their cash. They do this because most people are so thrown by the event of repossession, that they either lose the vehicle or end up paying fees. This is a permanent black eye on this company.

They did send an Application for Transfer of Equity to us. We finally got someone who wanted to take up the payments and we faxed the application to them. To date their customer service people cannot tell us what is going on in the process. Each time I call I get a different answer. These people do not know what they are doing. When I ask to speak to a manager, they tell me that they cannot forward my call. No manager available and other excuses. There is no phone number to call and speak to anyone else about this matter. My husband has had a heart attack and now has been diagnosed with Cancer since we made this purchase and we need to have this matter resolved. We are under enough stress without having to deal with something like this.

I leased a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport for my wife on 2/27/2012 with a sticker price of $32,783.00. We put down $5000 as a cap reduction cost and first month payment PLUS TAX and had 36 monthly lease payments of $334.26, which we made every month without fail. Also in the contract was a "Purchase Option at End of Lease Term" (line 9 of the contract) which stated we could purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease term for $21754.00. Our mileage limit on the lease was 30,000 and we went over a bit on the mileage, so we calculated it would be better to try to sell the car rather than turn it in and pay the mileage charge plus unknown "wear and tear" charges.

We received a certified purchase offer from CarMax of $22,000 which exceeded the specified buyout amount by $246.00, which to us was a win-win since all of the online trade-in values also exceeded what our buyout amount was. We decided to accept the offer from CarMax only to learn that when they called to verify the buyout amount, they were quoted nearly $3000 more than the amount stated on our contract. When I contacted Ally for an explanation, I was told the buyout number on the contract was only if I wanted to buy the car at lease end. If a dealer bought it, they would have to pay "market value" for the vehicle.

This is an absolute scam and just another way for Ally to rip you off. I was also told I would have to pay tax again on the amount of the buyout, which amounted to an additional $1855.09. So the only way could avoid paying the mileage, wear and tear, etc. would be to buy the car from Ally at $23,603.09 (including tax) and THEN accept the $22000 offer from CarMax, essentially LOSING $1,603.00 instead of walking away with the $246.00. It is absolutely ludicrous that we can't sell the car for what we would purchase it for ourselves and the dealer would actually pay MORE for a car than I as the lessor would, even though it's a wholesale deal.

I have an auto-loan with Ally Bank, I have had my loan for 4 years now, never been late because I had automatic payment. One month, when I switched banks, the automatic payment never went thru. By the time I found out about it, I was late. So I was truly late for one month. I checked my credit report 6 months later to find out that they had reported to the credit bureau that I was late for 7 months in a row. This was not true, which I proved to them by sending them bank statements showing that my bank account was debited every month on the same day for the correct amount.

When I called customer service, EVERYONE I spoke to sounded like they were from a 3rd world country, were EXTREMELY rude and unhelpful, and ultimately denied my appeal. Keep in mind that I proved to them that they had made a mistake. Also, one month they debited my account for $800 on top of my $400/mo car payment, I called them to tell them that they were wrong and that I was only late one month, but they refused to put that $800 to the principal on my loan. They basically stole $800 because I was not late for the 7 times they told me I was.

Please keep in mind that I had printed out my bank statements for each month that they said I was late. They ultimately refused to report to the bureau that they made a mistake, now I have 7 late payments on my report that are complete b.s and it has drastically lowered my credit score (by over 150 points). They have the worst customer service, hanging up on me multiple times and being very very rude in their broken English. Please stay away from this bank or else you are sure to get b.s. fees and no help whatsoever.

I got an email telling me that my account had been closed because it's "suspected" to be a business account. I had called a few weeks ago because my savings account had been closed and I didn't know why. In the middle of the call, the agent OUT OF THE BLUE asked me if I had a business account with them. I said yes, then said, "Actually no. I use it for personal reasons." Apparently from that statement, my account went under investigation (where they should have seen that I was using it for gas, groceries, etc.) Still I got an email today saying that the account had been closed. When I called to find out why, I'm told it's because I have a "business account." They claim to have sent me a letter warning me about this, but I never got it. But of course, that didn't matter and there's nothing I can do about it. Currently researching online bank competitors.

I had a loan with Ally in early 2010. At that time they were a great company. This is not the same company. I am guessing different ownership. Not counting cable tv it is the worst company I have done business with. In 2010 I received a payment book. Not this time. I knew right there it was trouble. I requested one to deaf ears. Never, never do direct deposit except to your personal bank. I know better so didn't. Even if it is over 1% do it if you value your credit. By the time you finish with Ally you will pay more and lose your credit score. Anyway my first payment was due on 9/02/14. I made a $14,500 payment applied to my principal. I then made my first payment on 8/19/14 for 723.67. They credited me 647.34 on my payment and applied 76.33 to my principal. I didn't know this till I got my payment history I have been requesting for months. Finally just received it after telling them I was turning them into the IRS because I got no statement of interest for 2014. It was as bad as their monthly statements.

Anyway I made my next payment on 9/05/14. A month ahead right? No so, because of their fraud of putting part of my payment into the principal I am a month behind not a month ahead. I have been doing 1000.00 on each payment and I thought a month ahead for my credit. I now have an unpaid balance of $907.95. Huh? Paying almost 300.00 a month over my payment. Cannot even to figure that one out except the 14,500 I paid on the principal made them furious and they were going to get the interest back one way or another. Somehow they must be applying interest on my principal for the life of the loan and the fraud of $76.11 in the beginning. How else can I have an unpaid balance of $907.95.

I have called about 6 times. All I get is some that cannot add or divide, honest, I tried. They just read some gibberish off of a paper that has coined replies that do not even relate relate to the question. Good old human resources or whoever made them up. It does no good to talk to these people so this is what I will do since I am in MN I will contact the MN Insurance Commissioner. Any complaint stays in a file on this company forever. Just think if everybody here sent a copy of their complaint to the MN Insurance Commissioner. Sent your paperwork with it. Do it!

I purchased my car in November 2011. My credit was not good at the time so the car dealer hooked me up with Ally Auto. I've had wonderful experiences with them up until November 2014. Because my business gets very slow over the winter from about Thanksgiving until February, I have several times delayed payment. I did the same thing again in November 2014. I did this on 24 November; on the 25th I would be 15 days late and receive a late fee. I was told by the customer service rep to pay $86 plus and the balance the following month. I went online that day and scheduled a payment for $120 deciding on my own to split the payment in half.

I have done this on several occasions before with no problem. In early December I went into the Ally Auto website and noticed I had been charged a late fee. I called Ally Auto and was told by the representative that the system couldn't handle the $120 payment. The guy told me he would have the late payment taken off.

I went into the website several days after that to check to see if the late payment was taken off. It was not. At that time I was about 31 or 32 days late. I called and spoke with another representative about the possibility of my alleged late payment being reported to the credit bureaus. She said she did not know if it had been reported or not. She said she would send a request to management to look into what happened and told me that the initial deferment request was never processed and there was no record of the request in the system. She said it would take at least a month to process. I called back in early January to find out what was going on because I had heard absolutely nothing from anyone at Ally. That representative told me that it takes at least 60 days to process and to call back in early February.

Yesterday, I received a letter from Ally showing the length of the loan and indicating that I had one late payment of 30 days. I was absolutely livid, and called customer service. I told the woman I was extremely upset that this was ruining my credit record and that I wanted this taken care of immediately and also threatened to sue Ally if it was not taken care of. After several periods of being on hold while she looked at my records, she came back and said that I would hear from somebody within 24 to 48 hours. I asked her if that was so, even though tomorrow was Sunday. And she said yes someone would call me within 24 to 48 hours. I then asked her so I can expect to hear from somebody by Monday by close of business and she said yes. We will see what happens!

I have been working so hard at getting my credit record straightened out. I had a huge problem with my mortgage company that was not my fault and had finally gotten that straightened out. And then to have this happen right after that just really infuriates me. If this is not taken care of by tomorrow evening I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I sent a complaint to Ally in regards to being denied a checking account. Below is what I sent to them, hopefully it will help someone else if they are going to apply. - I am filing a complaint. I find it disturbing that Ally is prejudice against folks with low credit scores to open a checking account. It doesn't make sense. I was denied to open a checking account due to a low credit score. I'm not asking for a loan, or a credit card. I'm asking for a checking account to put MY money in your bank.

When I called to asked why I was denied I was given some random answer about the patriot act. Yes if you want to run my credit you can. But to denied due to a low score is not a way to do business. You're saying my money or people with low scores money is not good enough for your bank. That's a horrible way to be. But I'm glad not all banks believe as you do. And they want my business and money despite that I have a low score. They value me as a person. A human being who's had some bad breaks that have nothing to do with banking. You need to advertise that you only cater to people with high credit scores.

Ex: Sent a PopPayment to two friends and was told by email that both had been "successful" but, the people who were to receive the money did not receive it. You call Ally and ask the them what is going on and you get bizarre stories of third party companies screwing up or, incorrect verification blah blah blah.

Account information on the website does not reflect actual up to date information. For instance right now I should have $120 in my account from a PopTransfer that I made and that was returned but that money is not showing in my account and is in a kind of virtual space with no one responsible for it. Many times they would tell me "I needed to listen to them", my account was in their hands now.

Ally in the US does not deny these folks work for them. I just find it ruthless that GM gets bailed out by American tax payers dollars and they have the nerve to allow this. Just read the other complaints. The defunct GMAC who I bought and paid for 5 vehicles over my years now runs under the Ally banner and we are harassed by a foreign collections agency out of control with no ethical standards. They couldn't tell us why or for what, just that the first payoff amount wasn't correct. The man on the phone actually asked if we financed through another company or paid it ourselves. Why would it matter? Later I called again and now the finance charges were $177.09 with interest accruing at .03 a day. I don't understand how you can call for a payoff amount and after you send it in, they can change their mind. I called the next day and confirmed with their representative that the current payment would be coming from my new account. They confirmed the information. Told me my payment would come from the new account I entered. They however neglected to tell me that the payment for that month was already pending from my old account. I checked my old account a few days later to find my account negative over $300!!! I looked at my new account and Ally had taken the payment from that account as well!!!! So not only did they take a payment from an account that was not valid, they took double payment for the month and put me in the hole with my old bank adding late charges, etc.

I tried to call the Ally and discuss the situation and all they can say is basically I can request a refund from them which will take 10 days or I can dispute the payment with my bank. Either way, they will not refund the late charges my bank charged me. I've been auto paying for over a year and Ally couldn't even cough up $26 to help me out of this situation. I was very satisfied with them until this happened and now I am very dissatisfied. I will be refinancing soon to get away from every having to deal with this company again! It's a disgrace with all the money you have you couldn't accept your mess up and pay $26 to work it out. 26!!!

Well, of course you can't see that, you are looking at MY account and not the account where you applied MY payment. They won't do anything to fix the mistake they made and are threatening to "take away" my car over this one payment error which is THEIR error.

Paid off the note to my car which was originally finance with GMAC then turned into Ally financial. From day one this company has been a nightmare to deal with! First of all let's be real. I live paycheck to paycheck and no payment were not always on time (as in due on Friday but paid on Monday) BUT I always added an extra 15 to 20 dollars to my payment to cover the late charge if any. Any how I finally pay off this stupid note and lo and behold ALLY claims I owe additional late charges and will be unable to release my title until paid in full. So I go down to Western Union, pay in CASH and now these sorry bastards are telling me they have to hold the title until the end of the month because WESTERN UNION sent them a check! Someone please explain to me how this is my problem? This company needs to be investigated as far as I am concerned.

This is our first experience with Ally Financial and will NO DOUBT be our last. We leased a 2011 Buick LaCrosse from a local dealership and got financing through Ally. We've never dealt with this company before but the payment was slightly lower and made it attractive. Throughout the entire lease we were never late with a single payment. When our lease was due and we turned in the vehicle into a salesperson at the dealership. We did a walk around the car and told us everything was fine.

Apparently four days later, Ally sent an independent company out to do an inspection. One week later we received a bill in the mail for damages to the car. There was a scratch under the front bumper. Under the front bumper mind you! They charged us hundred and $176 for paint and metalwork. Really! On the underside of the front bumper! They also charged us $295 dollars for a dent in a rocker panel. A dent that we would have seen at the turn in.

We have always taken good care of her leases. We have never been charged by any company ever! This is our 11th lease and we've never had a problem before. We called the company for an explanation of these charges. I spoke to young man name Greg who told me that nothing needed to be done until the car was sold. It was only suggested we pay this at this time. So we waited to hear some news. Without any updates we decided to call Ally ourselves.

We spoke to new representative named Jane, is very nasty. All we wanted was an explanation of how we are being charged these things. All she told us is that we should have read our contract when we first signed it. We also know that the car had been moved between drop-off inspection. At this point I asked to speak to her manager and she told me her name was Carol. Of course she was not in so I left her a message. I actually think it is a made up voice mailbox to direct unhappy customers to when the representatives are tired of dealing with them.

After hearing nothing from Carol, we made our third callback trying to get some sort of explanation. We talked to a lady named Sheila. She notified me that the car had already been sold 4 days after we turned it in and they had to reduce the sales price because of the damages to the car. I asked to see a copy of the bill of sale and she told me they are not obligated to share that information. What a racket! Everyone that I've talked to about this company says to me, Oh yeah, they did the same thing to me. I will never do business with this company again! The customer service is horrible. There's no explanation of charges. You will not get a call back. And if you do not pay the fee that they mysteriously come up with it will hurt your credit. If I could give them a negative rating I certainly would.

I have a vehicle financed by Ally. I have only one year to pay off the loan. Two months ago, I contacted them to request -one payment deferral. The customer service rep transferred me to the appropriate person to set up the deferment and I was instructed what to pay. I went as far as calling the payment line to verify the amount before making the specific payments for the next month. The rep gave a case number and everything was set. I received a phone call today (3 months) later to inform me that the deferment was not set up completely and that I was 32 days delinquent in my payment. I was very upset and angry that I was getting a call because I have a 10 day grace period.

After requesting to speak to a manager because the representative said that I didn't want to provide her with my insurance company and policy number that I was not cooperating and therefore the deferment could not be granted. This is simply unacceptable. I asked the manager what the information was going to use for and he just said that it was a part of the process. I did not feel comfortable giving out that information so I asked to just cancel the request for the deferment and I will pay and catch up the account. When you need help from Ally, don't ask, you have to give explanations and account information to get approval for a deferment. I just needed one month to get my finances back on track. Where is good customer service when you need it?

Ally - now in the business of selling cars??? I have a buy-out figure in my lease contract. This figure is computed during the initial leasing of the vehicle. MSRP on the vehicle is $33,665. After all is said and done, including the buy-out, Ally will be receiving $38,235. Not bad profit on a vehicle with MSRP of $33,665. You would think Ally would be happy to be making this kind of money on a vehicle, but NO. My plan was to have a dealer purchase the vehicle and get me into a new vehicle (to avoid paying taxes if I was to purchase as dealers are tax-exempt for resale). I have done this with 5 previous leases (all through "other" banks) and have never had an issue. Ally decides that if a dealer wants to purchase the vehicle, they are going to come up with their own price for that dealer (instead of the cut and dry "contracted" amount). Of course their price is $3,000 more than my buy-out price.

I'm at a loss at how they can do this. They are actually charging the dealer for the over-mileage costs plus additional fees. What is the difference if I buy the vehicle or a dealer buys the vehicle? And mileage should have no bearing whatsoever. I do agree if I return the vehicle that the over-mileage charges obviously apply as this does affect the residual value of the vehicle and will affect what ALLY can get for the vehicle, but if a dealer buys the vehicle, why does the over-mileage get added into their purchase amount??? The dealer will take the "loss" of residual, NOT ALLY!!!! Something does not seem right with this to me. I'm not a lawyer, but I feel this is borderline illegal and 100% immoral and definitely classifies under price gouging.

Beware of taking loans through this bank. Had an rv loan though ally. Sold it cause we were purchasing a new home. Anyone knows who purchased a home understands debt to income ratios and proving that loans have been satisfied is a major part of getting approved for a mortgage. So the camper had to go and I sold it. I called to see where the payoff was to be sent and was told by the representative it needed to be sent to Minneapolis, MN.

After two weeks it still had not been processed. I called again to see if they had received the payoff and was told no. After talking with the representative I was then notified it should have been sent to Phoenix, AZ. So I contacted the purchaser of my RV and informed her of the mistake. Her bank cancelled the previous check and overnighted another certified check to the correct address on a Friday and was to be there Monday. I called on Tuesday night cause it had yet to be posted. Being told it would take 24 to 48 hours after it was received, and they did tell me they did receive the certified check on Monday, that it should be posted tomorrow on Wednesday.

I called on Wednesday to ask if they could fax a letter to my bank saying the loan was satisfied. Their rep said, "ok sir the problem is there is a balance on the account. So until that is paid off we would not be able to do that." I explained my situation and she said "I do see they received the check and I could put in a complaint to see if we could get this expedited for you. It should have been posted by now but it should definitely be posted tomorrow." Ok then. I call again on Thursday and it still ain't posted. 24-48 hours was Monday.

It is now Thursday. I finally asked for a manager or someone in charge. They would not transfer me. Then puts me on hold for 10 minutes and said that when they receive a payoff it is held for the 24-48 hours. Then sent to the loan payoff department which takes another day. Then a day to post and release the title. I want to get this taken care of today cause I would like to close on my home in a week. Now they are telling me possibly Monday. All I need is a paper saying the loan has been satisfied. My bank will not approve the mortgage until this is paid off. I may possibly lose the house I want to buy cause these people want to take their sweet time posting a check they have had for a week now.

Thank you ally bank. This is the worst experience with a bank I have had in my life. I will never do another loan with these people. I don't care if I have to pay 10% more in interest. Customer service people were polite but completely useless. I have never seen a bank take care of business this way. Every month I sent a payment, It was posted 4 days after I sent it. That includes the time it takes to mail it. So why is it taking them over a week to post a check they already have? Unbelievable. I will tell everyone I know about this bank and avoid them like the plague.

I opened up a set of savings and checking accounts with Ally Bank about 2 years ago, after seeing multiple advertisements about their interest-bearing checking accounts and ATM reimbursement fees. I do have a set of checking and savings accounts at a local bank, but I liked the fact that I could avoid a trip to the bank using my Ally accounts. The thing I haven't liked since day one is the fact that they take 2-5 business days to add funds to your account after you deposit an electronic check or wire money into your account. It never caused an issue for me, it was just really annoying.

This month, Ally took 6 business days to add a wire transfer into my account. The bank that sent the transfer confirmed it was processed on their end and received by Ally on the same day. This extra-late processing on Ally's end resulted in two overdraft items on my account. This is the only time I have ever over-drafted my Ally account. Again, this caused me to be extra annoyed, but I let it slide. Yesterday, I deposited a check electronically into my account and I received a message saying it's been placed on a hold for 5 business days. I called Ally today to see what was going on. The rep told me that all of my deposits for the next 6 months are now placed on a 5-business day hold due to excessive overdrafts.

I told him that didn't make sense. In my 2 years with Ally, the only time I have had overdrafts was the 2 I received at the beginning of this month due to Ally not processing my monthly scheduled wire into that account on time. I told the rep that if someone did have excessive overdrafts, wouldn't processing deposits quicker make more sense. I told the rep that it seems like Ally is trying to make people overdraft and collect more overdraft fees from customers by utilizing this policy. I told him I do bank locally as well and the reason I like using Ally is because it saves me a trip to the bank sometimes, but their slow deposit processing and now this incident will cause me to just close my Ally accounts once they do process my latest deposit. He said he understood and placed me on hold to see if there was anything he could do for me.

Well, there was nothing he could do for me. The rep was nice through our conversation, it's the bank itself that pries on their customers. At the end of the conversation he said he was sorry he couldn't do more to help me and if I wanted to, I could participate in the survey at the end of the call or I could simply hang up. I thanked him and waited to be directed to the survey. He waited for me to hang up. We sat on the phone in silence for about 30-45 seconds and then he simply disconnected our call. Figures. I'm cancelling my accounts with Ally as soon as I can get all of my money out my accounts. The $3-$6 I save on ATM reimbursements each month and the equally measly interest I'm paid on my accounts aren't worth the saved trip to my local bank here and there. Goodbye Ally. Future customers you've been warned!

Unfortunately my wife got behind on her car loan payments. She struggled to get enough work and bounced back and forth a few times between 30, then 60 days late. She went 90 and we started looking for extra cash to get it back to 60 but they went ahead and sent her account to collections. They're right to do so in default situations..

The problem is that their Florida based account manager told her an amount to wire that would immediately cease the repo order and get her back to making regular monthly payments. She sent the cash and that same night they took her car literally seconds after she parked it home from work. Ally supports this lying tactic and I recommend you get a decent local credit union for auto financing. Ally knows they lie, and ruin lives in doing so. How can they sleep at night.

I am completely heartbroken and angry over our year-long battle with Ally Bank. When we got our vehicle in May 2012, our loan was originally with GMAC, and for the first half of that loan, everything seemed fine. I'm later notified through mail that GMAC had sold, turned over, whatever to ALLY. That's when the nightmare started! We immediately started getting phone calls from ALLY to pay our payment on time or they'll repossess our vehicle, even when the payment wasn't even due for 2 more days. I don't take to threats, cause I knew when my payment was due. We would get up to 10 phone calls a day, some harassing and sometimes they would hang up on us. I couldn't even answer my phone like a normal person because it was ALLY.

The phone calls started to get more harassing over the coming months, and so insulting a representative told me why did I get a loan if I couldn't afford it, and suggested I sell my house to pay for my vehicle!!! Who does ALLY think they are?! Well in our many, many, MANY phone disputes with ALLY over a late payment, we settled to a payment arrangement. Mind you, ALLY had put the fear of God into us that should we ever be late, they will immediately repo our car. We gladly started paying money gram, cause ALLY mysteriously stopped letting us pay online. Long story short, my money gram is MIA. What?! How can a MoneyGram be missing? I have proof. Representative told me I never made it cause it would show in their system, and I was a "liar" so said the representative and I was advised I better make another payment or my vehicle will be repoed. Why do they keep saying repoed?

OH I KNOW WHY NOW! Well, I caved because ALLY wasn't budging and still insisted they didn't get my payment, and waiting for 90 days to investigate where the heck that money gram went to was going to take too long. I went to Wal-Mart again and took money I couldn't afford to spend at the time, and made yet another payment on November 26, 2014. Furious and mad, I hoped and prayed that 1st money gram would show up, never did, so they say. I called back to confirm they got the second money gram, and after speaking to 3 reps one being a supervisor they finally confirmed they had received it.... but not ending the phone conversation without them telling me I broke the payment arrangement (did not), owe a fee, and am behind.

In the midst of all this mess, my due date mysteriously changed from the 1st of the month to the 10th, I have no idea because I would ask and they would never give me the same answer. What kind of company is this?! I found out... my husband called them with a payment and they refused to take it over the phone. He told them he can’t make a payment cause he’s in California on detachment cause he works for the military and isn't even near a store to do so. That representative immediately snarked at him and said "You shouldn't get a loan with us then".... Not sure he heard her correctly he asked her "What?" She said, "I don't care where you're at, your country don't need you, you need to make the payment." *click* When my husband called me I don't think he was even able to think straight, he was so upset.

Fast forward to December 24th, still no sign of the 1st money gram, so they say, and I’m out that $560. We call them to try to pay over the phone, they wouldn't do it. We tell them, “Well our bank is closed and we can’t pull the money out till they come back the day after Christmas.” The representative’s exact words "It will be okay, you have till Monday." Great! Okay. No we didn't. Monday morning, at 5 am, my car was repoed by a rude, hostile man that threatened to yank my car out of my driveway. When I tried to get my things, he pushed the car door on my legs. 6 days now, and Lord knows how many calls I’ve made, my car is still nowhere to be found. Help please, this has caused us so much stress! It’s not fair.

My 2013 Chevy Cruze was financed through Ally Financial. I have always been on time with payments for almost two years. I had a financial set back and was 2 1/2 months late with payments. I called ALLY in late October for a lease extension agreement which they granted and said the paperwork would be mailed within 7-10 days but I had to make a payment of $234.94 which would be for October and November to catch me up, which I did pay online. However, the lease extension agreement never came until almost 4 weeks after I made this payment. I called Ally, several times, to be shifted back and forth from one department to another. I explained my concern as I hadn't received the agreement but I did make the payment. Once I received the agreement I called and it had expired!

They blamed the US mail, I blamed Ally for poor process of this. I then explained my financial situation and had made an agreement to pay another payment on December 13, 2014... my car was repossessed on December 12, 2014. I did not receive one letter from them indicating this was taking place. I did not receive one phone call indicating this was taking place. I was ready to make the payment and this was taken for repossession one day prior! You would of thought Ally would have discussed this with me in my numerous calls to them. What gets me is to this day, I still have not received one letter or phone call from Ally stating the vehicle was repossessed by them. The towing company is the only party in this matter that gave me a document and that was just saying nothing was left back in the car. How can Ally get away with such wrongful repossession practices? A letter of cure? Nothing!

I called the police and they said if the car was at the tow yard then they couldn't claim it as stolen. As far as I'm concerned this was stolen! The tow company entered my garage, with the door down, and towed this in the middle of the night? Is this another case of breaking and entering? I am out of a vehicle now, which I can again someday buy another but the thing that bothers me the most is that Ally is getting away with such practices of repossession. I was not notified once nor did I receive one piece of mail prior to this repossession. If someone reads this, please contact me for a class action lawsuit, as I am sure I am not the only one that this has happened to.

In case none of you are aware of this. Ally Financial was investigated and found guilty of discrimination against minorities and forced to pay 98 million dollars. They are still discriminating against consumers but now it's against US military servicemen and women including vets. Ally is charging vets higher interest rates than others while denying credit to active duty military. Many who do get financed through Ally find higher interest rates and that they can't get anything done through customer service. I have read where Ally reports false info to credit bureaus just to hurt those who served. Although the reasons are not known, it is clear when you attempt to speak to Ally customer service. I have not known anyone who can get someone in customer service who does not speak third world broken English. Seems as though Ally customer service must be located in the heart of Iraq. If any other vets have questions about Ally and discrimination, I urge you to file complaints with the CFPB and the DOJ. This discrimination has to stop and Ally needs to pay our vets back for their discrimination.

I was moving out of the country so had to do lease transfer of my car. Initially it's really hard to find a buyer and finally I found one and called Ally if they can email the TOLO (transfer of lease obligation) form and said they can either mail it to the address which takes 5 business days and fax it which takes 24 to 48hrs. By the time I received the form after a week the buyer was not interested in leasing my car and Ally does not do any pre-approval process. Once the form is sent to Ally through mail it's another 3-5 business days. If pre-approval process in place and Ally can send/accept forms and requests through email my lease transfer transaction might have been done 3 weeks to a month ahead.

The buyer who wanted to lease my car was on my friends so I have asked Ally if I can be the co-applicant if my friend doesn't have enough credit score (by this time I really wanted to get rid of my car since I have already made my travel arrangements). Ally said you can add the new buyer as a co-leasee so I don't have to do the lease transfer so I thought this must be easy. Guess what again 3-5 business days to receive and email it back to Ally and around $1200 charge which was ridiculous. $595 to remove old co-leasee and $595 to add new co-leasee, it's a total rip off.

When I leased the car with Ally they hardly took one hour to process my requests and get the approvals and payments done but when I want to get out of the lease it doesn't happen in less than 3-4 weeks. If you want to buy out the car before the lease term they charge you 2k to 3k more than what you have to pay. Customer service was good answering all the questions but all they do is to follow the process which Ally asks them to do so can't really blame customer service reps. DO NOT choose Ally when you try to lease a car and do check these minor things with other banks when they approve your car financing.

I elected to take a survey at the end of the call which the agent knew I was not happy with my experience so while she was "transferring" me to the survey I was disconnected. Typically I would have just let it go but this was my first experience with Ally and I'm paying them a lot of money so I called back in and explained to the new agent what happened and that I just wanted to give some feedback on the survey. She agreed to "transfer" me again and same thing. This company is a joke and the reason I will never own another GM vehicle again. What a worthless company with horrible customer service. My advice: STAY AWAY and if you want to buy American go with Ford.

Opened up 5 Ally Bank checking accounts. Got my debit cards. I tried to open up 5 more checking accounts. They restricted my account. Asked me for verification documents. I sent them my details. The representative called me back after speaking to her telling me they decided to close down all my accounts and will mail me a check for my balance. When I first opened up my account I asked their representative specifically how many accounts I can open. They said I can open up as many as I want. The representative was also asking me what are my purchases. I told her it's my private details. Basically wanting to know what I'm doing with these companies I'm making purchases from. I told her that's my personal business. I don't ask her if she buy panties/underwear. Basically they were low and trying to find out what I'm doing and how I'm making money or spending it like some industry thieves. And they closed my account.

Paying online for a car payment with this company is the most frustrating experience ever. I can pay ALL my bills online with no issues ever. This company's website is down more than it is up. If you call for assistance, the poor employees try to assist you, but it never fails that they will end up telling you the system is down and I will need to try again later. This goes on for days and days and days. I will always ask them if the site is still down later, will they take my payment over the phone. The answer used to be "yes", with a $15 service charge. Now the answer is "no, we don't take payments on the phone."

Mailing a check to them is also a joke too, they have "lost" my payment many times, calling me to have me cancel the check and paying them with another check over the phone. Really, I thought they don't take payments over the phone. They also never note anything on your account after you speak to customer service. How can they assist any customers this way? I will never finance through this company again. I don't even know how they stay in business. And I am just stuck with them for now. It is so stressful.

I would love to, just how do we get the documents YOU have and get them to the people who need them?

This has been going on for 5 months. I have no earthly idea what the additional charges Ally has added to the payoff of this vehicle. Isn't it amazing that both companies are saying that Ally will not send/fax the needed documents and Ally tells me it's not their fault. I don't want anything more than Ally to get the money and for me to be FINISHED WITH THIS MESS.

I have a vehicle financed through Ally which is registered in North Dakota as I am an Active Duty Military member and that is my home of record. I recently received a bill for property taxes which were assessed in Missouri. I have spoke with four different customer service reps, one a supervisor, and one a "tax professional" all have informed me it is a valid charge and two states can tax me for the same property over the same time period. When I try to question this they all have given me the automated response of “Well because you are currently Stationed in Missouri even though the vehicle is registered in North Dakota and taxed in North Dakota you are required to pay county tax for a county in Missouri on the same vehicle.” I have researched as many laws as I can find and have yet to find any law which requires a person to pay taxes for two jurisdictions on the same property over the same time period.

I have reached out to the County Tax Commissioner in Missouri with no luck in finding any such law. The illusive tax guidance Ally claims to have received cannot be reproduced and I seem to be the only one finding this situation wrong. I have spent hours on the phone trying to explain the inability of two taxing jurisdictions claiming the same property for the same time period as taxable income but all I have received in return is "I am sorry sir, the bill you received is valid" without proper validation of the laws.

The entire amount for the car was paid but it took three months for the insurance companies to work it out. Ally was paid in full. When I went to buy a home I found Ally had reported to the credit Bureaus we were 90 days late. I have disputed and Ally continues to lie. We are suing Ally for damages. Stay away from Ally.

We had to call them and advise them that we had not received anything about where to send payments to. After talking to someone in customer services we were able to get late fees dropped due to their error. Six months down the line, they come and repossessed the car claiming I hadn't made the first payment nor two others. I stated to the woman when the car was purchased from the dealer, he delayed first payment for two months. She checked the system and verified what I was saying. She then stated that I owed them $35.41 in late fees. Ally repossessed my car for $35.41 of which she was unaware until I told her the fee she previously stated was incorrect. This company is a joke, they took my car and want me to pay almost four additional payments.

Customer service is the worst I have ever had. Unfortunately it is not the fault of the employee but the practices of the employer. I co-signed for my son for a vehicle. He asked if he could skip payment so I called for details. First rep told me my credit was so good I could skip 3 payments. So I called back to get 2nd rep and she agreed to process my request for one payment. She asked me to make a partial payment so I did same day on the Ally website account manager which was two days before due date of 11/08/2014. I received an email thanking me for my payment on 11/07/2014. She said she would be sending me some paperwork that I need to fax back. I received the paperwork 11/22/2014 and just sent fax today 11/24/2014. When I arrived from work today I received a letter from Ally saying they were going to refer me to the credit agency for a late payment and would be adding late charges to my account.

I called customer service and the first thing they said was "when will you be making your payment." OMG do they not look at notes. I asked for a manger they transferred me to Julie. I explained in detail what you just read. She said I was charged late fee since I did not return form. Really did you not hear that I just received form. She agreed to adjust late fee that they should have never charged me to begin with. No other bank that I have done business with has requested all this just for skipping one month. She said I would have to call back 24/48 hours to see if form was received since they don't do callbacks. After she was done I asked to be transferred to the survey. She said okay placed me on hold for 5 minutes and hung up on me. I will never do business with this company ever again. Worst experience ever just to skip one payment.

Out of the blue, my accounts were all closed without notice. I contacted Ally, and they told me that the mailing address on my wife's profile was invalid. I was pretty sure this was untrue, because about a month earlier we got an urgent call from Ally asking her to update her address.

We have a home in Atlanta and New York City, and both are legitimate physical addresses. Because we are often in one place or the other, we use a mail scanning service in Michigan to which all of our mail is sent. They had the physical address for my wife listed as the Michigan address, and our Atlanta residential address listed as our mailing address.

That was just too suspicious for them, so they just cancelled our accounts without even contacting us about it, and mailed a check for our account balances to Atlanta, even though we are in New York now. I immediately opened a Chase checking account and loaned some money to myself from our company's checking account to cover bills that are due in the coming weeks. In the mean time, I will have to track down that check sent to Atlanta, and change 15 or so autodrafts with credit card, life insurance and mortgage companies. Needless to say, this is all a major hassle and my time is too valuable to waste cleaning up Ally's mess.

I already have one vehicle financed with Ally at 0% (from a 2012 incentive) and was trading in a vehicle financed with another company. I also have great credit - no debt beyond my mortgage and a car - and a decent salary. GM should be careful about offering incentives and then allowing Ally to make that decision for them. My loyalty to GM is diminished significantly based on their relationship to Ally which leaves them unable to actually provide their advertised incentives. I will specifically seek out non-Ally using auto manufacturers for all future purchases. I would post this to the GM category, too. Ally is negatively affecting GM.

I am a small business owner and financed a new car through Ally. I began having financial difficulties and became late with my payments. Every time I called before the payment was due, or on the due date, to make arrangements. I met the promise to pay date every time. Once I called and Ally offered to lower my payments, which I agreed. The new paperwork was sent to me and it required a small payment. I was told the paperwork and payment had to be sent via FedEx and they had to receive it by a certain date. They also stated I should call them with a tracking number once sent, which I did. Everything was sent for next day delivery by 10 AM.

I tracked the package and followed up late morning that day to make sure it was received. It was. Ally received everything they requested within the guidelines they provided. When I called they said the car was put up for repossession the previous day, which was before the timeline they provided. I had to fight tooth-and-nail to save my car. Ally admitted they called for repossession too soon and told me I could keep the car. Since, which has been over a year, I have paid on time. Recently, I applied for a business loan. I was denied because of my credit report. When I pulled my report it shows Ally reported my loan as "CHARGED-OFF."

Yesterday, I had a conference call with TransUnion and Ally to get this resolved and my credit report cleaned up. The first words out of the Ally rep's mouth was "You have not made a payment for over a year" which was a lie. After pressing him very hard the rep acknowledged I had been making ALL payments on time. Unfortunately, the rep (obviously) has no power to correct my credit report. The other Ally employees who were involved, who do have the power, have yet to return my calls.

From a credit perspective I have no problem taking it on the chin for when I was late. That was my fault. However, when a prospective lender sees the erroneous reporting of the vehicle being "CHARGED-OFF" the consumer is screwed for 7 years. In addition to that, a small business owner does not have 20-30 hours to get this corrected, but I have to. So, besides being denied credit, which costs money, I lose 3 days of work - on the phone all day, every day - which causes me to lose even more money. Under no circumstances will I ever do business with Ally again. I suspect they don't care since I have a "CHARGE-OFF. " (sigh) Ally, fix my credit report. You are responsible since you reported a "CHARGE-OFF" erroneously. Upon seeing the other comments here, shouldn't there be a class-action law suit to make things right with everyone Ally has bent over?

The extension would be granted if I'd pay $92.97 by Oct 7th and $216.72 by Oct 22nd. I met those terms. Today, Oct 23rd as I sit in a seminar I receive a call from Ally, so on my break I call them back and the associate informs me I am two months late and my lateness has been reported to the credit bureaus. I hastily explained to the woman that this can't be right, explained the extension etc. She then proceeds to tell me that on Oct 21st my extension was rejected for reasons that were not specified on her computer screen. She said then my representative should have contacted me and told me. I then told her that I have a letter dated Oct 1st stating Ally was pleased to accept my extension as long as the payment terms were met, which as of today they were. I asked her to transfer me to my representative because this associate really seemed to know little and she did.

So I explained the whole thing over to my representative and she said it appeared that when my extension application was being typed, the person accidentally selected "no" when it asked if I planned to pay on time. She corrected it and resubmitted my extension but had me pay another $92.97. She then told me to call back tomorrow to check on the extension and that if it was approved I could ask them to report the correct info to the credit bureaus. I told that was a mist for me as I am In the process of purchasing a home. I am livid by this considering I paid them on time for the amounts specified for the extension. I can't believe they would wait so Long to tell me if the extension was rejected and I don't understand why I have documentation stating the extension was good as long as the payments were made. My husband and I purchased a vehicle in Arizona which we financed through Ally Auto. A year ago we moved to New York. I updated my mailing and billing address with Ally as well as had them fax a copy of the title to the NY DMV so that I could register the vehicle in NY.

A couple of weeks ago I called to make sure that my mailing address was correct since I intended to payoff the loan. I actually called twice to confirm since you cannot see your personal information online. I was told that my NY mailing address was correct. I waited 2 weeks after making my final payment to confirm that the title had been mailed. I was then informed that the title was released to the Arizona DMV.

I was livid. I was told that I was the co-owner of the vehicle but my husband was the primary owner and since he did not call in to change his address, our original address in Arizona was not changed. The mailing address, billing address and registration address had all been changed to New York. At no point was I told that both my husband and I had to call in a change of address, especially when I called to confirm my mailing address "since I was getting ready to payoff my loan".

Ally Auto refuses to issue a new title to the correct DMV. AZ DMV will only release the title if I show up in person to sign for it - I no longer live in AZ (neither do I have family in AZ) so Ally has created a huge problem. I JUST WANT MY TITLE!

To add insult to the whole ordeal, I have called twice now to try to get my title released to NY and have had two different excuses from Ally as to why they sent it to AZ. First time it was because my husband did not call to change his address and the second time I was told that because I purchased the vehicle in AZ, it was sent to the same city that it was purchased. They couldn't even get their story straight. I have no idea how I am going to get my title - I have a $30,000 vehicle paid off but I have no title!

But they informed me that they couldn't get the money and it was returned back to my account. When I asked the customer service representative to read my payment history, because I knew I had made all my payments, they said their system was down temporarily, then when I called back they just hung up on me every time. They locked me out of my account so I couldn't double check myself and they were just demanding payment without giving any information. They wanted me to money gram thousands of dollars again! I cant get any information about my account, no one can explained why I owe thousands and I keep getting someone from the Philippines that are unable to answer any of my questions and explain why they are showing they haven't received a payment from me in almost 3 months! Who am I paying then? Where is thousands of dollars of my money going? I am going to try and get my loan transferred over but I feel helpless! They are coming to get my car and I don't know what to do! I haven't done anything wrong.

Before I go into my dialogue here about the worst bank I have ever dealt with in my life is Ally Bank, these people should be prosecuted and shut down once and for all. I purchased a used car in December 2013. I have been making my monthly payments on time every month and I have the proof as my bank statements indicate it, as I am in the process of repairing my credit due to a vile divorce. I received no phone calls, U.S. mail or any emails whatsoever. I was getting ready to go to work and it was about 7:30am and I came out the door and there was this ** at the end of my drive way with a tow truck. I asked him, "Who are you...? Identify yourself immediately or I will call the police right now". He said my car "was out for repo and we have to take it due to non-payment." I informed him that was not true and I said "wait here and I will be right back." I came back out and showed my last 3 months of bank statements showing the debits to Ally Bank Auto. He replied to me, "Sir, I can see you paid, however according to Ally Bank you are behind 3 payments and I have to take you car."

I decided to do one of 2 things, either go back inside and get my Remington model 870 pump shotgun and scare him away out of the area or let him take the car. I surrendered the keys to him and he took the car. I went back inside and got on the phone with this Ally Bank. I was transferred to somewhere in the South Pacific somewhere and explained the situation to them. They informed me my car loan payments were 4 payments behind. In return I informed them "that is impossible as I have the proof here in my hand and give me your fax number and I will fax them to you immediately." I was informed, "Sorry, Sir we do not have a fax machine". I asked "what do I have to do and what do I have to pay here to get my car back...?"

I was put on hold for about 10 minutes. Finally someone came on from another department and told me I owed over $14,000. I said, "What...!". The person informed me I have to pay the full balance of the loan in order to get my car back. I replied, "I made my payments to you and I want my car back..." I was told "that is all we can do for you Sir and have a good day." Never ever in my life have I ever dealt with such an unprofessional and unethical financial institution if you want to call it that. I proceeded to contact my private attorney over the matter and he has filed a major lawsuit against them due to this episode and it will take time. However I had to purchase another vehicle in the meantime to get to my business and other daily items.

Folks, I mean this profoundly, sincerely and can't emphasize this enough. DO NOT GET INVOLVED OR DO ANY BUSINESS WITH ALLY BANK OR ALLY BANK AUTO FINANCING AS IF YOU DO, YOU WILL GET SCREWED FOR SURE. IF NOT NOW, THEN LATER. I appreciate you taking out your time to read and review my story and experience here with ALLY BANK.

MAC was bought out by Ally. I purchased my vehicle through a dealership in 2008. My payoff was for May 2014. I called and asked for the payoff amount and I wrote the check. This was November 2011. I called a week later to confirm payment and still nothing. This went on for 3 months until Feb. I got a call saying I was 3 months behind and they were going to repo my vehicle. AFTER providing the copy of the check and verifying it was cashed and applied in December, they tried to apply some of it to the back owed and said I had a different payoff amount.

We went back and forth for weeks and after sending a check for over 12k, they said I was short $30.09. I was furious and asked why that amount wasn't included. They couldn't provide why so I didn't pay and went on with life. Fast forward to present and I am wanting to sell my vehicle but there is still a lien for the $30.09. I paid that Sept 1 and was told I would have my title in 20-30 days.

I spoke with a supervisor named Terrence on October 1 since I still have not received my title and he said I still have 10 days before they can search for my "lost" title. Mind you on the first he said I should have received it by now and he would see if they could overnight it. I called him Oct 2 and he stated I was lying and he told me Oct 10. If I do not have my title by then I am contacting an attorney to retrieve those tapes and suing them. I will join any class action lawsuit in a heartbeat! Ally needs to be held accountable for falsifying information and mishandling documents.

My loan is officially paid off but according to them because I was late making payments I still owe money from some type of daily finance charge for every day over 30 that my payment was late. When I asked the customer service rep where this was written on my contract she told me it doesn't need to be. This was the first time hearing about this and I never signed any papers agreeing to these terms so I asked to speak with her supervisor and she connected me to some man who reiterated what she said and also told me that the monies that I have already paid can be put where they feel like putting them thus making looking like my car is not paid off.

From the looks of complaints on here and other site they are doing to a lot of people. They need to be stopped cause this company is unethical. I have contacted the BBB and Consumer Protection on them and now I get a letter stating they are going to repoed my car if I don't pay the remaining money they say I owe. So fed up with this company and their games. WE NEED TO START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM.

On both types of payments, we have had problems. When we mail them in, they get them on time but are not processed until the due date, and the same thing with Western Union. They do not process them until after it is late. Then I start receiving phone calls from them usually 2-3 times a day. They do not leave a message.

When I do speak to them, they say that I owe late charges because it was not processed after the due date. I told them they are not getting a late payment because it is their fault not mine. They stop calling after that for a few months then they start up again calling from another number like GMAC or Nuevella auto loans. How many shell companies do these idiots have? I opened this bank account under the premise that it would make for easier deposits and checking, despite my misgivings about it being completely online and having no physical access points. After making my initial deposit, I was told it would be over a week before I would have any kind of access to my funds by way of debit card or paper checks. When I started to run low at my current bank and needed access to the funds in my Ally account, I was told it could still be longer before I could use the funds. I was then told that I could make a wire transfer from my Ally account to my local bank same day with no problems.

When I went to make the transfer I was informed that it would take a minimum of 2-3 days to process, so again I called customer service to see what I could do. They told me they'd waive the fee for same day transfers but that I'd be sending the paperwork in too late to process same day so it'd be next day instead. I figured it'd be fine as I was about to be home for the day and didn't plan on going anywhere else.

When I arrived at work this morning (the day following the transfer request), I was called by Ally's fraud prevention team and told my account had been completely frozen and that they required my driver's license, social security card, a bill verifying my address, and my pay stub from the check that had been deposited. When I asked why they needed a pay stub I was told that just because my check had posted into my account that it didn't mean that I could use it, which boggled my mind because I thought that's what "posted" meant, that the funds were available to use. Apparently not.

I was then informed that it would be 7-10 business days for them to verify the check from the time they received my pay stub copy and that I would have absolutely no access to those funds until then. So my same day transfer to a verified local bank account has turned into my account and funds being held hostage for up to two weeks all because I decided I'd made a mistake in opening an account with this bank and tried to fix it.

I informed Ally Bank that I was typing a complaint to Consumer Affairs and Better Business Bureau about the mishandling of my request for funds to be transferred from my CD to my outside banking institution. I was also going to post to BBB.

As I was talking to a "supervisor" I hit the send button. Within three hours I was contacted by the "Executive Resolution Team" and assured that my funds would be wired to my checking account before the close of business that day and that any wire transfer fees on their part would be waved and any fees changed by my bank would be reimbursed. Too bad it took 11 days for resolution. I still am going to close out my accounts with Ally Bank.

    Original Review: Sept. 4, 2014

On August 25, 2014 I requested a specific amount of funds from an 11 month no penalty cd be transferred to my outside bank checking account. Balance of funds be rolled into another 11 month no penalty cd. On September 2nd checked and noted original CD was closed on August 25th and a new CD opened with exact amount of original CD. No transfer made to checking account. Contacted customer service and was told Operations Department did not adhere to my request. Requested transaction be expedited and funds deposited to checking account by close of business on September 4th.

I have contact Ally's bank customer service department on September 3rd and again September 4th to learn that it will take another three to five business days before my original request can be processed. This will mean that once again, the new CD will be closed and a new CD opened with funds remaining after deposit to checking account has been processed. Everyone at Ally Bank, including supervisors, is blaming the Operations Department for not adhering to my original request, but no one in that department is doing anything to expedite my receiving my money.

You have to give permission to Ally to make an automatic payment deduction from your bank to send payment in online. Not a good idea if you want them not to have whenever they decide to pay your loan payment.

August 19, 2014, I called in a payment over the phone via Western Union for $8.25 payment fee. I always pay my car payment in this manner. The payment was due August 21st. The automated phone system would not release a confirmation notice so it connected me to a Western Union customer service rep (Louis). She took my information over the phone and said she could not get a confirmation notice. She instructed me to call the Ally bank the following day to see if payment was received. I called Ally Bank, spoke to Melda on Aug. 20th. Marian did not transfer me to another Western Union, she took my information right over the phone, gave me a confirmation number and confirmed that no other payment would go through without a confirmation number. August 21, over $1200 was taken my account including my savings and a $15 overdraft fee.

Called Ally Bank and they said they would mail me a refund check that would take up to 3-5 days. Could not reverse the over-payment. I called back the bank again and was told the same story. I called my banker and she said never, never give them more one opportunity. Always call your own bank first to see if a payment went through. I had to borrow money to put in my checking for other bills I had coming. In the meantime, my banker reversed the extra charge and told me to contact Ally and tell them to "VOID" the check they were returning to me.

Guess what! Now, Ally Bank says, oh, we were going to electronically reverse "both" payments on September 3rd, however I would need to make another payment no later than Aug. 31st so not to be past my 10 grace period. I demanded to speak to a supervisor. I had to beg for a supervisor to get on the phone (praying this call was recorded), she said the same thing. Oh, before we hang up, THERE IS NO PAYMENT LISTED ON YOUR ACCOUNT. How can there be no payment on my account when you just told me you are reversing both payments on September 3. Plus you want to charge me a late fee even if I do pay it on August 31st.

While speaking to Lynn and Julie I received in the mail 2 Western Union confirmation letters. The one I did not authorize and the one I did authorize with Marion from Ally bank. They said they will have the Refund Dept. contact me within 48 hours. It has now been a total of 8 days trying to fix this problem. After reading everyone else's reviews I'm afraid to even think what could happen. I'm thinking about getting on Facebook or call the TV station or something to shake this company up and make them respect their customers.

Look, we all know Ally is a bunch of incompetent morons who took $17 billion from the Government to bail themselves out. To date, they still have not (and never will) pay it all back. So accept the fact that Ally exists solely because of the largess of the US Government and US taxpayers. That said, Ally is unable to keep track of payments, property taxes, titles and other things that lease and loan servicers are supposed to do. They farmed out all their customer service to the Philippines (how's that a slap in the face of the US taxpayers?) and aren't accountable to anyone.

I just came back from Small Claims court (again). Whenever I have to make more than 3 or 4 calls to Ally to fix something they messed up, I just go down to Small Claims Court and file suit. I guarantee they will call you back if you do that. Tell them you won't waste any more time talking to them. "See you in Court!" The next time they will call you talking about a settlement. It's cheap and easy to file a claim in small claims court. I'm gonna write about a book about Ally's incompetence. (Unless they pay me off again and I sign a confidentiality agreement.) We are incredibly upset with ourselves. We bought this car in a hurry and after asking the dealer if anything in the paperwork changed - "oh of course not". We signed for an insane interest rate - ok that's that and we are determined to pay this off as quickly as possible. I made a payment of 100 dollars extra and had to call and tell them I want it to go to the principal or unpaid balance. I was told any time I make an extra payment that's what I have to do. (I was disconnected during this phone call and had to call back). The next time I made an extra payment, I called and was told no problem. This time I made my regular car payment and a few days later I paid an extra $400. My next payment isn't due for over a month. I called them and told them I want the $400 to go towards the principal. I go online to make sure what I said happened and of course, it didn't. $372 went to the principal and $27 went to interest. When I called to correct this, I was put on hold and disconnected. (accident? doubtful) So I called back to wait another four minutes on hold and was told to hold again. When I told the girl that I am always disconnected, she assured me she wouldn't drop the call (strange she can assure that).

As others have reviewed, there is definitely a language barrier and this girl happened to be quite giggly as she told me that they have a policy that some of the payment has to go towards next month interest. I explained to her that this is not what I have been told in the past - that I plan to make many extra payments over the next year and that this is absolutely absurd. I also suggested she stopped laughing because there is nothing funny about this. I told her that I paid an extra $400 toward the principal and $400 is what needs to be placed towards the principal. Suddenly that wasn't a problem, suddenly it's on my account that ALL extra payments will go towards the principal, suddenly the "policy" doesn't apply because I am up to date on my payments (as if it ever did in the past - as I reminded her).

So we shall see if my full $400 goes to principal and we shall see what the future holds. But it blows my mind I had to spend 20 minutes on the phone with two different people over 27 dollars explaining things that have already happened on my account, fighting for things that they have allowed in the past. The games and desperation to get any interest they can is ridiculous! I simply had to raise my voice and everything changes?! Was that really necessary?! Unfortunately, I guess so.

Sent payoff on June 17, 2014 for our truck after logging in online and getting the so-called correct payoff. Received email July 27, 2014 from them. With many attempts to log in with an apologizing for website being down. On July 28, 2014, called Ally! They tell me they did not get the payoff then give the amount of the payoff. Then want me to send proof that I sent payoff which was made through my Bill Pay at my bank. The first lady I talked to said it was $33.11 short and hung up on me. Second lady name Zai stated after holding for 5 minutes, the payoff went up to $33.36 and she could not take payment over the phone due to system being down. She suggested I go on the Ally site to pay balance. She had just said the system was down. Then she hung up on me. Very bad business. Very shady business practices. Oh and I sent $33.99 just in case the payoff change again before confirmation on website of payment received. Called originally to ask where the title was since I had sent payoff in June.

You know after reading all of these HORRIBLE reviews I truly regret leasing with Ally Auto. I was two months behind on my payments BECAUSE I was sold a vehicle with a bad Cadillac converter. SO I had to put $700 in the car to repair. I got behind on payments because of this. I never received a letter, email, or phone call... but I got a knock on my door last Tuesday after 9pm. I walk outside to see my vehicle up on a tow truck. They screamed, "Your car is being repossessed due to non-payment". I was told by the NASTY tow drivers I could not open the door to get property out and they want the key. The next morning I call Ally to see what was owed on the vehicle and it went from $512 to $1008. I was never told my car would be moved to another lot. I called back two days later and made the payment, but the tow company had already scheduled a pick up for my vehicle. I called the tow company so I could clean the car before and the man said all of my property was already removed from the car.

I asked if the car was still there and they said yes. 20min after I went to Western Union the tow company said my car had just left. I live in Richmond, VA and my vehicle was towed all the way to Bel Air, MD. I called the auction in Maryland and first I was told my car was not even scheduled for a pick up yet. Then I was transferred and was told my vehicle would not be in their system until it arrives. The tow company said my vehicle would be in Maryland by Friday so I called back Friday and was told my vehicle still did not arrive so I was unable to schedule a time for a pick up. I am concerned with this company because WHY did they move my vehicle to a different state only TWO days after the repossession? WHY doesn't anyone know where my vehicle is. NOW I have to hunt these people down to SCHEDULE to pick up a car that belongs to me and it's not even at the location it should be.

I really feel like they assumed I was not going to come up with the 1,008 so they scheduled to auction off my car. I NEVER received a repossession letter or anything, but you come take my car and I pay, but the min before I pay you move the vehicle and now it did not arrive to the location yet? This is VERY unprofessional and I really wish I could give the damn car back and start all over again with another lienholder. I HATE ALLY AUTO.

I leased a car at a local car dealer here in Salem Or., this was my first lease and it was through Ally Financial. My lease was finished up in May. Ally sent me a return kit so that we could go over the car and make sure it was up to their standards of normal wear and if something didn't meet the requirements it was cleared that we would be charged. So I got the kit checked everything out and we had a stone chip that was too big, so my wife and I replaced the windshield brought the car back to the dealer ask them if there was something I needed to be aware of because I didn't want to get charged for something that I was not ready for. The salesmen said "oh don't worry about it, your car is in great shape and it even has 5000 less miles than were allowed."

So we turned our car in and went home, only to receive a bill about 30 days later saying we owe for excessive damage. I went to the page where that allow you to review what you were charged for and was shocked at the picture they were using to say I owed for a dent. My wife called the company and the lady from Ally said "don't worry about, they will only charge if they don't get enough in auction." Couple weeks later we received another bill, I called, left a message nothing, then I called again I think it was July 1st, talked to a gentleman, explained the situation and he said once they make a decision that is final but he would have the department that deals with that call me in the next 72 hours. I never received a call but a week later another bill. I called this morning. The first lady was very rude and said I had one option beside pay the bill given and that was to settle for $112.48.

I asked her if she seen the picture and she said yes and there is damage and so I asked if it was bigger than 2" and she got angry and said it was not in the same conditions as when I drove it off the lot. I said well that's 'cause it was brand new. Now it's 39 months later. She got more demeaning and loud so I asked to be transferred. She transferred me to a another lady that was very nice but stated also that there was nothing she could do but seemed to feel bad for the situation. So she offered me the same deal. For the sake of my credit and time, I was wasting trying to be heard, I decided to pay. But I wanted it to be known that Ally from the beginning was unprofessional and uncaring and unwilling to even discuss the issue beyond saying I owe. I have attached the photo to show the damage that I'm being charged for.

THEN it took 3 calls to get the lien release faxed, which then took 24-48 hours for them to actually do it EACH TIME. That took 3 separate attempts. I could go on and on! I have purchased a lot of cars in my lifetime but I have never financed thru Ally and I will never again. When my vehicle was totaled, I called Ally Financial to find out how much the payoff was. My response from them was that they were not able to give me that information. Hello, I paid each and every month on this truck and this is my right to know what the payoff was. To this day, they would not give me the exact figures.

I found out afterwards that they would also not give my insurance carrier the exact payoff so my insurance paid them the book value which unfortunately was about $3,000.00+ more than what was owed... I receive a letter stating that there was a surplus. In my books, surplus means extra. When I questioned this, it disappeared. No one, all of a sudden, knew anything about this surplus. I think that Ally has gotten where it is financially due to people like myself who are owed money. They say that I signed a paper stating that any overpayment they are allowed to keep. This is stealing and the last time I looked stealing was against the law.

Why are they able to get away with this??? Because you can't contact the CEO, You can't contact a supervisor. They all hide because they know how they conduct their business is not right. I think that you should be able to contact the CEO. I think by law he/she should be made to listen to all the complaints that the consumer has. I was told that if the CEO thought my complaint was good enough, he would email me back. He obviously did not as I never heard back. I wish everyone would listen and run from Ally Financial. Do not lease from them, purchase a car through them, have any dealing with them. They are not a nice place to deal with. None of their customer service people are pleasant. They are all trained to lie to their customers. If I could give them zero stars, I would. One star is way too good for this place.

I turned in my leased vehicle at the dealer 10 days ago. All the paperwork that Ally send you says the vehicle will be inspected within 4 days. Seeing it was not inspected yet, I called them. They said they just got the odometer reading yesterday and they will not send me an inspection report until it is sold at auction. I asked about the paperwork they send you saying it only takes 4 days. They did not know about it. They said they will send me an invoice for what is owed. The vehicle was returned well under the mileage limit and in perfect condition. The dealer who had an attitude because even they hate dealing with Ally said the vehicle was in mint shape. BUT I get nothing from them saying so, I have to trust Ally to send someone to get the car and cannot be present when the inspection is being completed; sounds a little suspicious to me and should be illegal!

As far as the customer service, it is always a horrible experience. No one talks or understands English and it seems like they just read scripts as several times I asked a question and they answer it with something unrelated; very frustrating. I, like most other people, will never lease another car with Ally. So I will see what Ally has to say about the car with their inspection; I took thorough photos AT THE DEALER when I returned the vehicle. I wonder what the Better Business Bureau says about them!! They should be investigated by the Banking Commission or Federal Trade Commission!!

I sent in my car payment 2 weeks early and paid additional money to go toward the principal. I had done this in the past but it was always posted to finance charge first. When I called about this they told me when I send additional money that I must send in a letter requesting that it be paid toward principal first. So every time I make a payment with additional monies over my regular payment I send in a note. This time I put a sticky note on my check telling them to post additional money to principal like I was advised to do. Well they scanned the check and tried to send it for payment to my bank WITH THE STICKY NOTE ON THE CHECK COVERING MY BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER!

I called Ally after noticing while I was balancing my checkbook that the check had not been cashed and it had been 2 weeks already. They told me that they had to reverse my payment because my bank account was frozen. I knew something was wrong at that point so I went to my bank. Nothing wrong with my account so my bank did an investigation and found the image of the check they were trying to process with the sticky note on it covering up the account number. I called Ally back and told them of THEIR ERROR, spoke to Executive customer relations (Hazel). She put me on hold, told me they still had my check and was going to remove the sticky note and submit it for payment. So now I think it's all set, they are going to correct their ridiculous mistake. She tells me that the payment should take 24 to 48 hrs to process.

Well 7 days later still has not cleared my bank account so I call executive customer relations AGAIN. Jean in that department says the request to process the payment was put in on April 5 but they have not received a response yet. I told her my initial call was on March 31, and Hazel told me on April 1 that the payment would be processed. She said there was nothing more that they could do. She could not provide me with a phone number to the payment processing department, OR a phone number to a corporate office or get a supervisor that was in charge... NOTHING. So I had no other choice but to put a payment on my credit card and be charged the fee of 8.50 because at this point they still have my check and who knows when they are going to try to process it thru my bank and can't risk an overdraft.

Imagine that, I pay 2 weeks early and more toward my principal and now have to make an ADDITIONAL payment so that my car payment isn't late. Please contact me if anyone is filing a suit against these people. I called my bank and asked if I could get a copy of the scan they received for payment and a letter stating why the payment could not be processed thru my bank. So I will have this to submit for complaint.

I've been with Ally Bank since it was GMAC Bank, and I'm consistently impressed with the services and customer service. Although interest rates are pretty low everywhere right now, Ally is always competitive if not the best for Savings and Money Market rates. The web interface is clean and intuitive. You can break up your account into separate accounts, easily transfer money in and out of the account, and overall they just make everything really easy to do by keeping it simple. Until they do me wrong, I highly recommend Ally Bank as a secondary banking account (not primary because there is no in-person banking).

By the time they actually reset it and gave us the password (3 days later) we had to pay an additional $70 for paying off our note. Now we are 8 days in and still cannot get them to reset our password so that we can pay the stupid thing off. If you pay over the phone they charge you an additional fee. If you have a choice not to use them, I suggest you go with someone else. They don't even care that they cost us the extra $70. That said "Sorry for your inconvenience." Well sorry doesn't help me pay my bills off. I just paid $19,000.00 so that I don't have to deal with them ever again!!!

I paid my payments ahead of time. Even paid the balance of the lease before it was due. I turned the car in three months early. I had a 12000 mile a year lease. I was a year and 7 months in when I turned 10000 miles. I took such good care of the car. They sent me a settlement statement for excessive damage for around 300 bucks. Not a blemish on the body but the inspector went under the car and found a 3 inch dent in the pinch plate of the frame. The car was babied and don’t know what is up with that.

Don’t do business with Ally. They will look for more money from you. And when you turn in the car it’s not settled till the car is sold which can be as much as 60 days. They suck. And good luck with customer "NOT" service. You'll be lucky to get someone in the States. Stay away from Ally. Oh and my statement reads at the end "thank you for choosing Ally. When you do make arrangements to pay, they ask you why you were behind. Then, you explain to them what the situation is. Then, they remind you that they will be calling again in 3 days to follow up. This takes place with every phone call and it seems like you get a new representative each time because they ask the same annoying questions. Finally, I had to tell them I am blocking their number on my phone because I am not going to be subject to their annoying requests like this. This is harassment! If I tell them when I am going to make the payment, why do they insist on calling again and asking again! I reminded them that my situation does not change. Then, they have the nerve to ask me to find another way to come up with the money before my promised date. They do this because they think it's a unique question so it doesn't make it seem like they are harassing you. Yet, it is! They know full well what my situation is, it's their way of annoying you into being on time with your car payments which is completely unfair when you have no control. I'm about to give them the car back. This just isn't worth it to me.

I went ahead and paid it in full. The next day I had a balance of $623.99. I called to ask them why they tacked on an extra $623.99 and they said that was taxes. Then they stated that to pay it in full I would owe $656.20, not $623.99. I advised them that this was not truth in lending to keep on changing the amount owed & tacking on charges that was not reflecting it in my current balance that was stated online & was a deceptive practice and fraud. I said that I would go ahead and pay it and they said the only way for me to pay it was online or they would transfer me to Western Union for a fee & that I would have to pay it online to avoid fees; they could not take my payment over the phone.

I said that I wanted something reflecting my balance in full which they did not supply. I said that I would not pay extra charges without a bill associated with it. In other words it said I owed $8203.20 which I paid, then it stated I owed $623.99 but they actually wanted $656.20. What are the extra charges for? I did speak to a Manager. They are in the Philippines & it was a waste to speak to them. I told them that I was tired of banks getting away with this stuff and I advised them that I was going to speak to a lawyer. Don't deal with this bank. They are not your ALLY as stated in their commercials.

I recently opened a checking account with Ally. I was attracted to what they offer in contrast with the more traditional banks, it seemed like a very customer-centric bank and I thought I'd give them a try. I had problems making a direct deposit when opening my account, it was going to be only $20 since I wanted to receive my card in the mail and everything before I made a significant deposit. The website told me the account couldn't be verified, this is the first time this happens and I've done the same in other instances. I had a lot going on and didn't call until a few days later.

Today I spoke with a representative and I forget his name, but he was extremely courteous and explained what would happen very well. Later I got a call from Leslie ** (Loss Prevention) who didn't really let me talk or explain my situation, she seemed to be rushing to get off the phone, requested proof of identity and address. I explained what I would send and asked her to email me where I could send this info. She asked if I didn't have a pen with an attitude like this was too much effort and promptly disconnected.

She did email me the info, but when I tried accessing the account online I saw my access was blocked which was never explained to me that would happen. She also said my bank account was inactive which it isn't, it's my primary checking where all the money goes and all my bills are paid from. Now I'm really doubting that I'll ever deposit any money into the account or verify my info, it simply wasn't a good experience for someone who's eager to do business with them. My issue was, "Hey, I want to put some money in your hands!" I wasn't even asking anything from them.

Truly horrible experience with this so-called bank. Their customer service is overseas, I found it nearly impossible to understand them and they did not understand me. How can you have customer service like that!! Even their own employees admit the customer service is horrible. As my car is leased with them, when I get a toll violation, it gets sent to them instead of my home. This happened in the last few months, and as they did send a letter stating such a violation, they did not disclose all the information so that it could be paid. I made a call to customer service who stated someone would get back to me within 24-48 hours. That never happened, so I assumed the toll letter was a mistake.

Recently I received another letter from them, this time with the actual notices issued by my state attached. Well, at this point, the fines were overdue with $300 fines attached because they were due weeks ago. Ally held onto this information for a month or more before they sent it to me. I, otherwise, have no way of knowing what they are. When I called customer service again, the person I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about and gave me information I knew was wrong. They sent this to their violations department who advised me to call my state's office and explain the situation, and that the fines attached would probably be dropped.

Why should I have to do this when it was clearly their fault. Nonetheless, I did, and I was informed that at this point I had to go to court because these were so overdue. When I called Ally back to explain, I was told it should not be a big deal to go to court. Like heck it is not, I work during the day; they should have paid those charges because of their inadequacy to do business correctly. I asked to speak to someone higher up; no one ever called me back. Now I am stuck. Truly unfair. The person I spoke to last admitted it was wrong, but how about someone doing something about it. I, therefore, turned in my car, paid the rest of the lease, and went to a different company to lease a vehicle. I will never deal with them again.

I assumed they would give me the best finance rate they could, because I explained I was a 100 percent disabled veteran (Vietnam), so I didn't have a truck full of money. I was wrong. It started out with being financed with GMAC (6/18/2010) for the amount of $14,163.10. This was a 2006 Ford F-150 with no cruise or power anything. A simple single-cab pickup with a radio and a small V6.

Now, fast forward to Jan. 21, 2014. The unpaid balance (payoff) is $6620.65. I asked them back in October what would be the pay-off if I simply paid cash and paid off the balance completely. The nice lady said it would be the same amount if I paid the notes another year or two (i.e. the balance would be the same.....the interest would stay the same amount and would not change)! I got more respect from the North Vietnamese than from Ally. I didn't think this was legal, but was told it is what it is. I signed it, I pay whatever they say it is. I wish now I would have stayed in Vietnam. Better treatment than from these barbarians that call themselves a loan/finance company. Thanks for listening,

I was told that "rest assured" I would receive a payoff notice in the mail, in about 3 business days. I was also told that I still needed to cancel my automatic payments, or they would withdraw funds from my account on my regularly scheduled payment date! So, if your account is paid off, they'll knock you out of the system, but not enough to stop taking your money?!?! Wow! Considering they are an "online only" bank, this is absolutely absurd!

I've financed several vehicles, never had trouble paying at all, and have never dealt with a worse one than them. After reading, I see my story is similar to the rest. Needless to say my spouse and I both went through brief periods of reduced income and unemployment, they have been unwilling to even try to work with us, being extremely rude in the process. The first time that I got behind, I scavenged what money that I could, including what was left in my TSP (Government retirement fund) which was comprised of my combat pay for 18 months that I served on the ground in Iraq, and to call back and they would give me a deferment. I did everything that they asked me to, I called the agent's direct extension, and she was never around, and then I called another agent who came back with "Oh well, you're not eligible at this time." WTF?!?! I did everything that I was asked to.

After making several partial payments until I got my second job back, I come to find out that my account had been charged off as a loss and that they either want the total balance (which is an astronomical number, or the vehicle back). Again, WTF?!?! I have filed complaints with the BBB and CFPB, but it doesn't look like it's going to do any good, since they are taking their sweet ** time to respond, I really don't know who these people think they are to blow off a government organization, and respond on THEIR time, and use their harassing and improper collection practices to harass people. Now they are threatening to repossess my truck, and take me to court but I refuse to give up a vehicle that I sunk my whole life savings and $3,500.00 into. This is completely ** up, these people need to be called on their deceptive business practices and it makes me sick that I went to war for this country, when we have domestic terrorists like this company ** military personnel and their families over!!!

Advanced Associates Recovery out of Benton Harbor, MI came on a cancelled order and picked up my Jeep. The Jeep had not been in default and they came and repossessed it anyway. The repossession man was very nice and I showed him my payments to Ally and said there is a mistake. He said yes there is and you can call them in the morning since it is closed. He had no paperwork to show us and let us clean out of Jeep and said you can come pick it back up when Ally realized their mistake. Which tells me he had the cancellation order in hand but wanted to get paid anyway.

I ended up calling the police and telling them what had happened and filed a stolen vehicle police report and called Ally in the morning. The Impound team at Ally stated that they did not have my vehicle up for repossession. That the car should not have been repossessed, that there was a mistake and payment had been posted and orders cancelled. They did not know where my Jeep was and that I had to talk to another rep. So after being transferred around many times, I spoke to another rep that did say that the orders were cancelled and that it was a mistake and that the company came and picked up my Jeep at their own will. I had to pay fee and that I should go pick up my Jeep. I should not have to pay his towing fee or go get my Jeep, they should bring it back to me. I am ready to call the police in MI to check on this company.

DO I LAWYER UP NOW OR SEE WHAT THE SAY ABOUT THE DAMAGE? This is emailed to the CEO of Ally, Michael A. Carpenter, and President of Ally Auto Finance, Tim Russi: My name is David... I am a disabled veteran and have fallen on hard times due to my service connected injury. I have had 3 back surgeries in the last 3 years and fell behind on my payments. I was 2 months late in making the payments on my vehicle but I did make arrangements to have a payment drafted from my account prior to the 3rd payment being late. This was agreed to by your rep and I was informed the payment would be taken and accepted on 12-20-13. This was confirmed by Marquis on 12/30/2013 when I called about the repossession.

The payment was never withdrawn and there was not even an attempt by Ally to withdraw the money from the account. My vehicle was repossessed on 12/30/13. Due to the neglect on the part of Ally in regards to not accepting payment, the vehicle was repossessed on 12-30-2013. I called immediately and informed the representative that I intend to recover the vehicle prior to the deadline of 1-15-2014. I contacted the overseas rep (USELESS) on 1-5-13 and informed her I will have the funds by 1-10-13 and she informed me the vehicle is fine. I have been trying to contact the redemption unit since 7:00 am on 1-10-2014 to pay the amount needed to recover the truck but was on hold a total of 7 hours on 1-10-14. The line would be on hold and then pick up and hang up without notice.

I continued to call and the same thing would happen throughout the day. This morning, 1-13-14, I called at 7:00 and finally spoke to someone at 8:45 at which time he, Dennis from the overseas call center, informed me that I will have to call back at 9:00 so he can get the payoff amount. I called back @ 9:00 and was on hold until 10:00 when I spoke to another overseas rep. She informed me of the amount and I have the cash in hand ready to send it via Money-gram. I asked for a break down that includes the additional charges to be faxed to me so I will know what I am paying for and have the paperwork to cover myself and for my records, which I do when sending money anywhere. She refused and said I already have the paperwork showing there may be additional amounts incurred. I simply asked for the information in writing with the additional charges and she refused again.

I inquired about the location of the vehicle and she gave me a number to a location. She informed me this is the central location of the auction house. I asked if this is where the vehicle is and she didn't know. I asked her again to fax the requested information on the total amount to pay and she refused. I asked if she is refusing to fax it and she said she is not allowed. At this point, I asked to speak to her supervisor again and she said there isn't one there. I informed her I want to speak to the next in command and she put me on hold. She came back on and informed me no one is available. I informed her that I want a return call from someone asap. She said they are not allowed to call out from this location and can not allow this. I demanded at this point to speak to someone and he asked me to hold again.

While on hold, I called the auction house in Moody, AL. I spoke to Lisa there. She informed me the truck is there and is ready to go on the auction block. I informed her that the paperwork I have from Ally says I have until the 15th to get the truck back and I asked why it was moved from The Long Beach Auto Auction in Long Beach, MS to Moody, AL, 8 hours away. She informed me the truck should not have been moved until 1-15-2014. She informed me the tag is not on the vehicle and is in Long Beach, MS with the original towing company. A lady, Ronda, came on my line again and said she is in a stateside escalation location and informed me that the supervisor here is on another line and asked how she could assist.

I informed her that my request to have the total amount owed and a breakdown faxed was refused and I would like to have this today so I can pay Ally for my vehicle. She said this is a supervisor question. I also asked about why the vehicle was sent to another state to a second auction house, 8 hours away. I informed her that the truck was stored at the Long Beach Auto Auction when All-star Recovery obtained the vehicle from me. She looked in the file and informed me this was not supposed to have happened and there was a mistake in transport. She informed me that the supervisor will have to handle this call and she transferred me to a VM. This was at 10:15 am and it is now 12:15 pm. I have not heard anything from Ally and would like to pay for the vehicle before any additional charges are incurred.

That evening, I went up the chain even further. I emailed the President of Ally Auto Finance and the CEO of Ally again. I still never heard anything. I called my customer service rep that I had been dealing with prior to repo and he was not happy. He got his supervisor on the phone and she listened to my information. She was pissed that this happened and asked if she could call me back. SHE DID and was very helpful. She got the AMERICAN rep in redemption escalation center on the phone. It was the same lady I spoke to that morning. I informed her that I never heard from her supervisor and she surprisingly tried to help. She crawfished the entire time and finally agreed to send me the letter. (The entire time the supervisor from the customer service unit was on the line and listening.)

I paid and had to drive to North Alabama to get the truck. When I get there to get my truck, I was doing a walk around with the auction employee and noticed a large scratch and dent. I went further and see for some reason the transport company put a strap over the fiberglass painted tonneau cover to hold it down and severely damaged the top with the tension handle as well as scratching the bed on both sides and both rear fender flares. There was trans fluid dripping on the grill and damaged it; the pass front door handle was broken off; the tailgate was dented in 3 places and there is damage to the driver's mirror. The supervisor and manager of the auction house came out and they said this happens to almost all Ally vehicles that are sent to their auction.

The manager told me that not many people come get their Ally vehicle once they are at the Birmingham auction. I told him the story and he was not surprised. They were very helpful and even called Ally and informed them the vehicle was damaged in transit to the auction. I was given the email address and number to call when the email was sent. I took 50 pictures and they did as well. The tow company in Long Beach had circled damage they saw prior to transport and all the damage noticed was NOT circled. I am in the process of emailing the info now. DO I LAWYER UP NOW OR SEE WHAT THE SAY ABOUT THE DAMAGE?

I currently have an auto loan with Ally Bank and have been prepaying this account in order to reduce the total amount of the principal and interest I would have to pay. However, I do not believe that this bank is reducing the amount of the principal balance each time I make an overpayment. For example, my scheduled payment for 11/13/13 was $248.49 against which I made a payment for $300. As a result, I would expect the principal balance amount of the loan to be reduced by $52.06. So, even though I am prepaying the loan, it appears that they are not reducing the principal balance of the loan to reflect the additional payment over and above the scheduled payment amount. It appears that they are attempting to front load the interest charges regardless of how much extra money I pay to reduce the principal balance.

Got three months behind on my car loan. Called Ally and got an extension (or at least I thought), made arrangements and paid the other two months' note. I thought I was caught up and prepared to make my next monthly note until the calls from Ally started coming in and telling me I was three months behind and the repo company was out looking for my car. I advised them to check my payments because they were made thru Western Union as planned.

The customer service female I was speaking to said she has no records of my payments and that I need to release the car. This went on for several weeks until they finally came and took my car. The night the repo man showed up at my house, Ally said I owed $3,125.00 and to keep my car I must pay $2,600.00. They did not want to discuss the payments I have made thru Western Union. Ally is the worse bank in the world.

I bought my car 7 years ago paying $450.00 monthly. Due to some hardship I have struggled to pay for this car. I might get behind a payment, but I stayed in contact and always caught back up. I have paid my car down to $1,600 (!) with plans to pay it off in January. Ally sent a repo man to my home (I was not not even there but my mom was). This man did not identify himself, did not tell us where he was taking my car and left no phone number or paperwork regarding the repo. It has been 4 days and I still do not know where my car is!!

Now Ally wants over $2,000 to get my car back!! They told me my last payment was over 90 days ago. My bank statement shows that I made a payment on 10/21/13. Like I said I was going to pay it off in January. I never received a 'Notice of Right to Cure' which would have allowed me 20 days to pay my car off. I have not received a 'Notice to Redeem' or a notice letting me know what they plan to do with my car! I started trying to make a payment almost 2 weeks ago but they had already locked me out of my account!!

I asked for a statement of payment history, and spoke with Victor yesterday in the Redemption Department. I was told that he would fax my information with an hour. I still have not received it. When I called again today (after getting the runaround for 15 min) I was told that it was in the MAIL!! I have been threatened that they will sell my car in 15 days if I don't get the $2,000!! It is very evident they do not want me to have any information regarding my account, BECAUSE I can prove them wrong!! SO I have no documentation from ALLY, they have locked me out of my account, I have no idea where my car is at.

When I asked ALLY about the repo and where my car was, they said they 'didn't have anything to do with that'!!!!!! Everyone I have talked to has been RUDE, DEMEANING, and THREATENING! I have NO transportation to get to work, buy food, and it is right before Christmas!! I am in the process of contacting my state representative, and consumer affairs. PLEASE! WE need to band together and hold ALLY accountable! I have struggled for 7 years to pay for my car having only a couple payments left then ALLY takes it from me is nothing but thievery!

Ally Financial is the absolute worst. They sent out a repo man to our house this weekend to take back our Jeep for being 4 months behind. When we confirmed with our credit union that Ally has indeed received their funds and tried to email their customer service a copy of our statement, they threatened us with legal action. They claim we owe $1400 and yet we have had ZERO communication from them about our supposed delinquency. Being military, my husband was threatened with his chain of command getting involved and the sheriffs arriving on our door. I refused to relinquish our vehicle until Ally can show where our payments have gone.

The only payment they are missing, is December's, which they have locked us out of our account to even pay. Our credit union told us they tried to draw a payment out 9 days early (that account was closed due to fraudulent internet charges and someone having our account and routing number). I am not sure what legal recourse I have, but until they show where my funds went, I refuse to hand over a vehicle I've been paying on. Hopefully Monday morning this can be straightened out as painless as possible. But as horrible as their customer service is, I doubt it.

To sum up what transpired besides ongoing and consistent poor customer service, Ally Financial representatives negatively affected my credit twice. Once without notifying me about not receiving a payment, and then a second time after a contractual agreement for an extension due to the missed payment. This agreement was supposed to put 2 payments at the end of my loan even though I made 2 payments (just made them late), and was allegedly effective immediately after my paying a minimum of $265; this was also supposed to prevent negative history being reported to the credit bureaus.

Well, Ally not only took my payment of $399.90 (because I wanted to pay the full missed payment plus late fees...trying to be honest), but they neglected to send me proof of the extension, repeatedly placed me on hold when I tried to get proof, and then STILL reported me to the credit bureaus despite being granted an extension and taking my money. This is all after they had me waiting to sign paperwork for the extension. After numerous calls, they finally informed me that in Maryland paperwork is not required. The representative who informed me of not having paperwork also misinformed me regarding the terms of the extension. She later corrected herself after I summarized the terms of the extension for her.

This has to be the worst company ever. Inflated rates, high monthly payments, poor customer service, broken agreements and promises and agents that don't understand the nature of their own business and don't understand or even know what you are saying half the time that you are communicating with them. I would not recommend that anyone does business with Ally Financial. Look for a credit union or smaller financial institution that has morals, values and halfway care about their customers.

Horrid Experience. When I met with the representative at the Cadillac dealership for financing, I asked him specifically if over payments would be credited monthly towards principal reduction and he replied, "Yes". They are NOT. In order to take more of the customer’s money, Ally simply takes the overage off of the next payment, allowing them to make more interest on the loan, a lot more interest! This is NOT what was represented and it's a racket. If you call every single month and ask for the overage to be credited towards the principal, they will. There is a long hold time and then a lengthy period getting an operator the info they want and completing the process. They ask while on "ignore" if you'd like to take a survey at the end and even though I always say yes, I am again put on hold and after a period of time, disconnected. A SHAM.

Customer Service at Ally Financial advised that I send my auto loan pay-off amount of $10,292.30 via a Cashier's check to ensure that the check is cleared within 2-3 business days. A personal check or online payment will take up to 10 days to process. I decided to send a cashier's check because I found a buyer for my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee but needed to pay off the loan so I would no longer be tagged as the lien holder. I wanted to ensure that the process would be completed quickly.

A cashier's check was created at my bank, meaning the funds were withdrawn from my personal account and no longer held by me. The check was sent via USPS certified mail for tracking purposes to the Ally Financial Payment Processing Center. The USPS certified mail tracking showed that the check was delivered on November 1st. I called almost everyday since November 1st to find the status of my account. The customer service always stated that the check was not received and I should call back in 24-48 hours.

On November 13th, after several attempts for a status update, and after threatening to file a complaint about the firm, I was transferred over to the Executive Customer Relations department. This department went back to the Payment Department and then told me that I should send over a fax with a copy of my check, some detail on the situation, and any other relevant information. Then told me to call back within 24-48 hours. The customer service representative also gave me the extension number of the woman on the case from the Payment Department. This upset me because I should have been asked to send a fax much earlier in the process since it has now been 13 days since the facility received my check. The representative in the Executive Customer Relations department also gave me her name and agent ID and said I could call back and ask for her. After faxing the check, I tried to follow-up with the Payment Department a few times and left a voicemail but my call was never picked up, or returned.

On November 14th, I called Ally again and asked to be transferred to the Executive Customer Relations Department. Then I asked to be transferred to the agent I had worked with the prior day. The representative told me that this would not be possible due to the lack of extension numbers, and large call volume. I had to re-explain my situation and she went back to the Payment Department while I was on hold. She then came back to me and told me that the Payment Department is not picking up the phone and therefore not in the office. She then mentioned that my fax was received but was not sent to the payment department directly (I guess I was not given the payment department fax number). She let me know that the fax was forwarded to the payment department and then, as per usual, told me to call back after 24-48 hours. It has now been 2 weeks since Ally has received by cashier's check. These are my current issues:

    1) I am now short $10,292.30 in my bank account.
    2) I have lost my check because Ally cannot find it.
    3) I cannot cancel this check because cashier's checks can only be cancelled after 90 days of issuance.
    4) I have an upcoming Ally monthly payment of $369 due on December 7th.

    5) I have lost the buyer for my car.

This account was supposed to be a savings account, so I set my account alerts to "notify me when my account balance reaches 3000+". I received the alert about two weeks later. Months go by and I try to log on. Could not access my account. I then called Ally and was directed to Loss Prevention. I was told I had to provide proof of address and identification. I did this SEVERAL times and was finally told by NADIA (Loss Prevention) that my checks bounced. I contacted both issuers of my deposits and both verified (showed proof) that the funds were not returned.

After SEVERAL weeks of not getting any response from Ally Bank, NADIA comes up with a new allegation. She then tells me that the $860.00 check is in my account but they are trying to return it. I have contacted my old employer about this issue and she says that account is closed and she has heard nothing of the sort. Looks like Loss Prevention is more like loss intention! I will do as much as I can legally informing ALL people that care to listen to my experience. My next step is complaints with the BBB and then the FTC. I've gotten a 2013 Dodge Dart sometime in September this year and I start payments on October 24, 2013. I've gotten mail from the Ally Bank whom I am leasing from on how to set up my account. On the same day, I set up my account so that I can pay my payments. I set it up as auto-pay so that it'll be easier for me to pay it on time. With that said, on October 24th, I paid my first payment for October, which it didn't work. I do not know why. So, I tried again at midnight and it worked for some oddly reason. So time goes by and I decided to go onto my email to check my emails. I came across Ally sent me an email with regards to my payment. It said that it couldn't go through due to me not having proof of me having an account through them (?) when obviously I do? They also said that the routing number from my actual bank that I go to, was incorrect when it's not.

So I logged into the Ally Bank, and apparently I owed them 629 dollars when I shouldn't owe them that much, so I decided to log into my bank to see if they pull it out of my saving and they didn't. The car payment was still in my savings. So, I decided to pay it again, and it's "processing", but now it's saying I owe them $659.02? Again, doesn't make any sense on how I owed them that much. While I was still logged in, I decided to look into my history payments, and it said on OCTOBER 24TH that the TOTAL was paid on the 25th of October. So how do I owe this much? I don't know. Anyways, then I looked around some more on the main page, saying the payment is received on October 25th and yet when I looked at the transaction, it's saying November 24 cancelled which that is my next payment is due. This is ALL confusing me and it's pissing me off, cause I never had any problems paying my bills on time.

We had had the authorized service center in our town look at the car and do any minor repairs that he suggested so that there would be no problem when we turned it in. We were also 13,000 miles under the requirement. SURPRISE! They billed us over $1,000 and said that the body repair work was not good. IT WAS THEIR AUTHORIZED REPAIR CENTER! We disputed the charge and were turned over to their "asset recovery unit."

That department was rude, arrogant, demeaning and cowardly. My husband spoke mostly with someone named David. He was sarcastic, ugly, rude and unprofessional. What they don't know is that our family is in the car business and my husband has already kept Ally Financial from getting several deals and we will do everything we can NEVER to lease from them again and also keep everyone we can from leasing from them as well. Beware - Ally expects a leased vehicle after 39 months to have no wear and tear. I chose Ally because of the good interest rates and low fees and have been pleased with this. However, Ally has an ongoing problem with their online deposit system. Often the response to a deposit is that it cannot be processed but a reason is not given, but when attempting to make the deposit again, it says this cannot be done because the check has already been deposited. Often, it is impossible to get the online deposit system to appropriately orient a check: turning it sideways and making it impossible to crop to comply with their standards.

While it is random, I encounter these problems for about 25% of my deposits, with it sometimes taking an hour to deposit 4 checks. I have filed a complaint, with the only response being, "Sorry for the inconvenience." As this is unacceptable, I raised the issue of closing my CDs. The response is that even though they are not complying with their contractual obligation to be able to conveniently make online deposits, they will enforce the contractual obligation that I forfeit 60 days of interest.

Confused, I called Ally who informed me that I hadn't made a payment and my account was delinquent. I explained what had transpired, the agent thanked me for bringing the matter to their attention and said it would be taken care of. The next day I start receiving automated collection calls from Ally.

Called Ally the next day (call-2), spoke to Bernadette who told me the payoff hadn't been received and that I should contact the dealer. I called the dealer, found out everything was sent to Ally and the payoff check was cashed by Ally on the 15th of the month. Called Ally (call-3), talked to Dean, who said the check was not received. I gave him the correct information, he immediately changed his story and said the check was received but they did not receive the mileage statement and couldn't terminate my lease. I called my new dealer and gave them this new found information. My dealer had overnighted the sale documents as well as faxing them, received confirmation of delivery.

I called Ally again (call-4). Spoke to Maria who again told me they didn't receive the documents. I asked Maria to simply call my dealer and discuss what they needed in order to resolve the issue. Maria told me that they could not call the dealer and the dealer would have to call them. I called my dealer, gave them the news and the dealer service phone number. The dealer called Ally (call-5). They said it would take 24 to 48 hrs to verify receipt of the documents but wouldn't comment on the fact that they had the documents a week prior. Guess what? I continue to get collection calls.

I called Ally again (call-6), talked to Roberta (sounded a lot like Maria). Again I'm told they didn't get the documents. I asked them why did they cash the check and why didn't they call my dealer for any missing documents. They told me, "Sorry, we can't terminate the lease without the documents". It was like I was talking to a human computer. No resolution, still getting calls, sent a hard copy letter and Ally threatens to send negative information to the credit bureau. This seems like some sort of grand scheme to cheat consumers out of bogus payments or service charges. Let's talk class action suit!

I have owned my car through an Ally lease for 13 months and am trying to do a lease transfer and my experience has been horrific. First, if you call, you get the Philippines and have to wait 10-15 minutes before you get someone on the phone that asked you the same questions that the automated prompted you for and know nothing about your account. I then ask to speak to someone in the U.S. and am left on hold another 15-20 minutes. After finally getting Aundrea and Lawrence on multiple calls, they have no knowledge of anything about my lease as well. I am trying to find out what the lease transfer amount is and finally am told it is $595 and that my Smart Lease option which covers up to $5000 for wear and tear and damage is not transferable. My overall experience has been terrible and would suggest that you don't do business with them

I am looking for a class action attorney to represent what I estimate hundreds of millions of dollars in undisclosed fees collected by Ally Financial. My wife leased a 2010 Chevy Equinox from Burt Chevrolet in Denver on September 25th 2009, which was purchased in an asset sale by John Elway Chevrolet. We negotiated both the purchase price and the lease terms yet the lease still seemed very high and it was explained to us by Henry Clarke (still there) that it was due to the financial crisis of the times. Her credit scores were above 740 and we have made every payment on time with Ally Financial. The lease expired on Sept. 25th of 2013 and we decided to purchase the car outright for the residual value as stated in the contract.

Upon contacting Ally Financial, they said they are no longer involved in the lease and you must contact YOUR Chevy dealer where you originally leased the vehicle. We contact Elway Chevrolet and they told us the payoff of the lease was $2500.00 above residual value stated in the lease of $10,728.00 approximately. I pointed out to the John Elway Sales Manager (Scott) that according to documents that I had in my possession, the payoff would be the residual value. He looked it up and AGREED with me on that amount. He looked further at the handwritten lease contract and said that it is showing a $13,228.00 payoff and Ally Financial often does an undisclosed buyout fee of $2500.00. Scott said he rarely used Ally Financial because of this fee which upset customers like myself. He suggested I contact Ally Financial again.

My wife contacted Ally Financial on 3 occasions and they would not even speak to her and said it is out of their hands, you must contact a dealer. I personally contacted Jeremy **, the finance manager at John Elway Chevrolet for a copy of the lease and he sent a barely legible copy of a handwritten lease begrudgingly. When we spoke and I pointed out the residual value on the lease, he stated, "You agreed to pay $13,228.00 in spite of the residual value being $10,728.00 and that is your problem." I explained that the fee was not disclosed and with most leasing outfits, you can make an outright purchase of the vehicle at lease end for residual value. He agreed but said, "She signed it, nothing I can do."

I explained that not only is this egregious but the license fee and taxes will be on the higher amount as well which will end up costing us about an additional $240.00 that are fraudulent. Jeremy replied, "It is what it is, I have customers that I need to help and you can turn it in or pay the full amount and hung up on me". I was flabbergasted that he was the second John Elway Chevrolet employee to admit that there was an Undisclosed Lease Buyout fee of $2500.00 and had zero concern about customer service. My wife emailed Jeremy on Saturday, Sept. 21st, 2013, at approximately 3:49 PM and asked him to either scan, fax and please send a legible hard copy of the lease to our home residence for review. Jeremy replied by email, "It is Saturday and our business office is closed on Saturday but I can send it out on Monday." Which she replied was fine but it is curious that the dealership is open on Saturdays to 7:00 PM and I bet still selling cars and writing loans and leases. Nonetheless it is now Friday, Sept. 27th, 2013, and we have received nothing from John Elway Chevrolet, nor Ally Financial.

We visited another dealership on Sept 21st, 2013, where the finance manager couldn't have been more helpful. His entire team reviewed the barely legible handwritten lease, and first pointed out that he was surprised and wasn't even sure it was legal to not have a computer generated lease with amounts typed into the lease in the State of Colorado. Furthermore, he stated Ally Financial is known for this type of fraudulent activity but he would speak to his Ally representative later this week. The manager followed through but said the rep was extremely unhelpful and when pointed out the residual value, would only reply well, they agreed to pay the $13,228.00 and that the buyout fee is not disclosed in their leases. I offered to pay the $10,728.00 plus dealer prep fees, taxes and license fees to this dealer and put the $2500.00 in a legal escrow account for dispute. He thought I could do that but that I would still be charged the $25.00 per day fee for not paying the full amount. He did negotiate an additional 7 days without penalties.

I am not a lawyer but believe that this undisclosed fee amounts to fraudulent activity by Ally Financial and collaborated by John Elway Chevrolet and in my opinion happened to thousands of consumers that leased a vehicle from John Elway Chevrolet during the periods of 2008-2013 and may still be practiced today. Furthermore, it is my belief that hundreds of thousands, if not in the millions of leases generated by Ally Financial across the United States represent a class of hundreds of millions of dollars and maybe even in the billions on top of the unnecessary taxes, license fees that were collected by dealership across the country. I am available to speak to any class action attorney that would be interested in exploring or pursuing this matter.

She called me names and said that since I was obviously in over my head I should just let them have the car back because it was obvious I was a dead beat. I said I would try to catch it up by next month and her comment was "why worry". This place is almost cruel and inhumane in their treatment of customers. When nearing the due date, not on or past but nearing it, I would get as many as ten to fifteen calls per day regarding my account. Once you are past due you have to block their calls or they will hound you unrelentlessly.

This bank, and I use the term lightly, is a joke! This evening I called Ally for a lease payoff on my 2011 Buick LaCrosse. The first part of the joke starts out with the phone recording. It went a little something like this, "We are currently experiencing a higher than normal call volume, you may want to hang up and call back later". Really! Are you kidding me with this statement? I have never heard of a customer service center (again, I use the term very lightly) telling a paying customer to "hang up" and call back later because they are too busy to handle your request at the moment. What made that statement interesting was the fact that the representative answered my call within 30 seconds of hearing this message! So, they were experiencing a higher than normal call volume? Hmmm... Okay!

So I proceed to ask the representative (who I could barely understand, due to his broken English) for a payoff on my lease account as I am trading in my Buick for a new vehicle. He paused for a minute, then said, "You'll have to have the dealership call our finance department that handles trade-ins for a payoff". Okay, that is not an unreasonable request. At this point, I am still not certain "why" I cannot just get a payoff on the lease. I then ask, "Can I just get the payoff on the vehicle as if I were purchasing it?" He paused again with uncertainty in his voice. Once he finally decided to speak, he said, "I'll have to send this to our loan payoff processing team".

You have to send my request to a loan payoff processing team? I said, "Great, go ahead and transfer me and I'll get it taken care of". He then tells me that they would have to call me back, and asked for a good contact number. I was shocked at this point. I have to be called back in order to receive a simple payoff on my lease? Not to mention, they have 24-48 hours to get back to you with this utterly simple calculation! So I am supposed to wait 24-48 hours for some super payoff processing guru to call me back? This is an ABSOLUTE JOKE, Ally! Get it together!

I then ask to speak to a supervisor. This would be the biggest part of the JOKE! This person couldn't manage to turn on a light switch, let alone a team full of "order takers". She proceeded to explain the same sad story that was explained in the previous paragraph. At least, I think this is what she was saying - I could not understand her either! Once she had finished giving me the "company line" for anyone requesting a payoff, I became numb. I have NEVER heard of a financial institution that cannot provide a customer with such a simple request. It's a relatively simple calculation, that I will just go ahead and do myself - god forbid Ally lift a finger to go out of the way for a paying customer.

The painful reality, I was going to trade in this Buick and my Volkswagen for (2) brand new GM vehicles today. These (2) new GM vehicles would be financed through Ally Bank's Leasing department. Those of you who do not know, GM Motor Finance is now, you guessed it Enemy, I mean Ally. I just called the dealership and said the deal is off for the two cars! I can no longer, in good faith, do business with such an incompetent partner in the banking world. In closing, I would say that I have never had a pleasant experience when calling this place. Ally, you should stick to what you know best. Which is begging for people's money by paying them a higher rate than the next guy! You have no business trying to finance vehicles. Thanks for making this a MISERABLE car buying experience!

For the first two years of my loan all was well. They take their money from my account without a problem. Then 8 months ago I switched banks. I set up my Ally account to auto debit from the new account and each month without fail I get a call from them stating that my account is now past due. I ask them why and how and they tell me that they cannot do the direct debit until my account is "current". I tell them that each month my account is brought current and then why does the direct debit not start then. I was most recently told that because I paid for a different account previously their system will not allow it.

The people I speak with are rude, have hung up on me when I express frustration over the no ending saga of direct debit. I can see it happening once or twice but for two consecutive months now? Not only that but they call me on my cell, at work etc. Last month they called and left 8 messages on my home phone in one day. When I call I ask to speak with a USA office.... They stated they don't have one. I don't feel comfortable giving my social security number, address, etc. to someone who is from Lord knows what country who can do anything they want with it and international law can't touch them. Where's my protection?

Today in the morning, a representative from Ally Financial called me requesting my past due amount of my car. She said that I had until today to make the payment. Otherwise I will go into collection company and she gave me until 2:00 pm to call her back; she said that I can borrow the money from someone. I called at 1:00 pm and the representative that I spoke to transferred me to a supervisor. I explained that my husband lost his job and that I was able to make a payment but postdated to this Friday, Sept. 13. She denied this and was talking to me and my husband loud and unprofessional manner and then she hung up on us. I called back and another representative said that I had spoken with a lot of her teammates and I said, "But I am requesting to speak to a supervisor." She put me on hold. Then she came back and said that there was no supervisor available and hung up on me.

I understand that I am behind on my payments but this is not the way to talk to customers with such attitude and unprofessionalism. We should be treated with respect. I am going through a difficult situation right now and these representatives instead of making me feel better made me feel worse. I hope you take actions into this so they won't treat other people the way I have been treated.

I purchased a car in 2009 and it was financed through GMAC. Next thing I know ALLY took over. In later part of 2010 I moved to another address and it was updated and all statements were coming to the address. In February of 2012, I contacted them and told them I could no longer make the payments and my only source of income is SSI. They asked if I knew anyone who could help me make payments, I said absolutely no one. After speaking to my son, he said he would be interested in the car so I contacted ALLY and they were going to do a transfer of equity at the cost of 150.00. I filled out all paper work as did my son but nothing came through. Someone spoke to us from Ally, told him he could go ahead and make payments and drive it, and within 6 months it would be transferred in his name. Mind you, he caught up the two payments I was behind on plus asked for an extension which cost him another 100.00 or so. He continued making payments and I would call and ask again this past April where was the transfer. I was told "We're sorry it was not done properly." We will have to do it again.

By this time I am livid. No papers ever came to my address or his and the car still remained in my name. Finally in May, I told him just stop making payments as obviously they don't know what they're doing and we are getting nothing but the runaround. They were calling him numerous times each day as well as me. I told them in July "Just take the car back, I'm tired of being scammed by you." I never got any papers in my mail and on the 19th or 20th of August 2013 got a call from Ally and this person stated she had talked to my son and told me "You can sell that car and make money". I said, "Excuse me, you have the title not me and you never transferred it in my son's name." She claimed all letters were being returned at his address. I said that is not true. She read off all three addresses to me and when I told her the one address was correct for me as that's where I always have lived since 2010 and that's where my statements came, she said, "That's not possible."

I said, "Lady, in 2010 I was making the payments. Just where in the world then do you think they came from?" She read off my son's address which was correct. When she had spoken to my son that day, he told her, "You get things straight on your end and the transfer and I will pay the car off." She told completely different story to me asking me to sell the car?? Well for someone that claimed my son's address was incorrect the repo crew had no trouble finding it on the 23rd of August. Amazing if I don't have address I told her was correct the plates and registration is my address and my name. So I called them today because certified letters are going to my son's address but in my name which of course no one will sign. When I called, as usual a non-English speaking person told me after asking my address and I told him said, "Oh we don't have that address on file". I said, "Amazing because I'm sure the repo people seen registration and it sure doesn't show any address but mine because you people never lived up to your end of agreement letting someone else pay for a car out of their bank account not mine and never transferring it over."

He said he was not at liberty to give out Repo dept number. I told him I intended to report them for their rather unethical issues such as numerous fees for transfer that did not happen as well as fees for an extension. I said, "By the way, I am only on SSI and you can not touch my money." He said, "I will forward this to the repo dept and I have correct address on file now".... Talk about a mess and I might add most from their customer service are very rude! I even asked today how do I get to talk to someone really in Ally office. I said I have asked in the past and was always hung up on or put on hold until disconnected... He said, "Only way to talk to anyone is through our call center." I have no clue what to expect from them next and I am very ill and only have SSI as stated above but as far as I'm concerned, this company is a bunch of crooks and really people need to file a class action lawsuit on them for their unethical fees and lies. I say steer as far away as you can from this company as obviously they don't even believe you when you tell them your address. I truly wish Ally never took over for GMAC.

I had an auto loan with GMAC which was taken over by Ally Financial. In July of 2011, I was unable to make a full car payment due to being laid off. I called Ally right away before payment was due and explained my situation, but they would not help me. I sent $100.00 instead of the payment amount of $287.00 in July and August. I only had a remaining balance of $750.00 on a $20,000 car loan. I was contacted by their "In House" collection department in August stating they would come and take the car unless I made payments. I told them I had made "good faith" payments of $100 those two months. It was unacceptable to them. I made payment arrangements with them which spanned three months to pay off the car.

I paid the car off in 1 1/2 months and was told I would receive my title from Ally. I did receive the title to my surprise, but my credit report now reflected CHARGE OFF! Unbelievable! I wrote Ally, wrote the three credit reporting agencies and even the Better Business Bureau and no one did anything! My credit is ruined! AND on top of it, when I filed complaint with the BBB, Ally Financial told them I never made the $100 payments! This company is a nightmare!!! They are rude, and for example just this week we only owe $600.00 on a $20.000 car loan and they called to tell us that we were $100.00 past due on the account. However when we receive the bill it states that a payment of $393.00 is due, so we send $400.00 and they then call to say that we are overdue, never once to mention thank you for the other overpaid payments and keeping your account current. WOW, our last car loan was through another bank and we were treated with respect and courtesy. Never use this company for a car loan. And then... they cancelled my account leaving my payroll and other deposits in limbo. The loophole, they said I linked my PayPal account which is categorized as a business account. I said to the person on the phone, "Can I just remove the link to the PayPal account?" She said, "No, you will not use this account again." Why I asked myself, they want me to open a new account with them in which the terms and conditions are different. To me, that is the most unprofessional way to treat a customer. I will never do business with Ally.com. That is the only thing I can do, because I can never take back the sleepless nights after they left me with late bills and wondering when I would get my payroll paper check instead of the direct deposit I had entrusted to them. :-(
