I had a late fee and I paid it off with my payment. I asked the associate what I need to do if I want to pay extra and go to the principal. She tells me I just need to notify them. I asked if I need to call every time I want to pay extra on the principal. She told me "yes". I was just wondering this because I want to pay this car off as soon as I can. I asked her three times to explain it to me but I get nowhere because I can't even understand her most of the time.
The next month I go on my account to make a payment and I have a 235 dollar late fee. I called and they said it was because I asked for 230 from my last payment to go to. I went nuts, that's ridiculous. Why would I pay off my last late payment to have it put on my principal. I told the associate that I was inquiring about making extra payments and I never told her to put my last payment to principal. It's ridiculous, they are constantly trying to find ways to charge late payments and now just cause I asked about paying it off sooner. I get a late payment for inquiring and none of their late fees are consistent. And if you ask them to explain how they got that number they give you a runaround.

Had a 0% auto loan through AF. They contact me after I've paid the loan in full attempting to collect "late fees." I request my payment history and contract. The contract states I have 15 days after the due date for them to receive my payment without having to assess late fees. Even though the contract says this, they argue with me about how they interpret the language of the contract. I have paid $500 in "late fees," as they attempt to collect $400 from me. If they can't be logical, they can't be trusted. Do yourself a favor and find other financing alternatives!

Four calls a day start post 5-days after your due date. Love smartphones and apps that block Ally's number(s) but they do get creative from time to time. EVERYONE I've ever talked to is out of the US of A! Don't like that at all for our out of work Americans. That is what started my slow payment problem... and I tell them that from time to time for a rise. But the two calls I received on Easter Sunday really pissed me off... Are there no days sacred? My app picked up the numbers and I called to complain but that went nowhere fast. I CANNOT wait to pay off this SUV note so I can get away from these idiots. Feels good to vent here but I really wish the collection calls would exclude Sundays.

I have never done a review but this company is the worse. We have had our auto loan for 11 months. Shortly after getting the loan we fell on hardship, tried to get caught up by having them work with us. Not the case!! So we struggled through some months til we qualified for a extension. Well the first extension expired. They said the second one was never put into the computer. We paid the fee in March just to get another call from them harassing us. Then explained to the rep I had my extension set up on 3/23 and I was waiting for papers to sign. She acted like she understood me.
Then two minutes later she called my husband. Customer service reps are very rude, talk over you and yes they even said I wasn't understanding the rep so she called my husband. One even said she was a manager to find out through another she wasn't. We called several times just to be talked to like a idiot. Come to find out the rep in March 23 didn't even do the extension. This company is awful. They don't work with anyone willing to work out hardships. Worst company ever. My blood pressure is through the roof. Thanks Ally.

I loathe calling Ally Financial Customer Service. If companies are going to outsource their work, they need to train their staff properly so their customers can get GOOD customer service! I have never been more frustrated in my life. I literally have to explain myself 5 times and in slow motion for the representative to come close to understanding me. I still never received an answer to my question, I hung up before I said anything rude. I tried to look for numbers directly to Ally but no luck. Very disappointing that there is no way other than writing a letter to get in touch with someone about customer concerns that are important, especially when it comes to money! What I also find disappointing is that Ally was based out of Detroit, MI and instead of giving call center jobs to all the people there who are in desperate need, they outsource their work to a different country. Unacceptable when there are plenty of people in this country who are struggling to find jobs.

I've been with Ally for years, never a single overdraft or issue on my account. I attempted to download a video game for my child with my debit card, from a reputable company. Total purchase was less than $30. When it failed to process I guessed my internet connection had failed and used PayPal, (also linked to my Ally). The purchase was completed. The next day I received an automated call from Ally asking to verify purchases. I verified them and thought nothing else. I was then contacted by Netflix and told my card was declined.
I called Ally and was told despite my verification through the auto call my card was closed for fraud. This resulted in a long drawn out call to get my card restarted and my Netflix account active. Several weeks later I discovered my PayPal had defaulted to an old account and caused $30 in overdraft fees. Ally refuses to make anything right and stated they won't reimburse the overdraft charges they caused and essentially said, "Too bad. We can decided when to let you get to your money and when not to."

We went through Ally Auto for our financing on our car. When the time came that we wanted to sell our car, the buyer wanted to simply take over our payments and continue their loan through Ally. We thought this would be an easy transition, and that the bank would be more than happy to help us with our request. They could not have been more unhelpful or created more hoops for us to jump through. Ally Auto tries to do everything through the mail, even though they have other options when they are pressured.
It apparently takes 48 hours for them to receive a fax, and they refuse to help move the process along in a timely manner. My husband and I dealt with their frustrating run-arounds for a solid month, and eventually LOST the sale of our vehicle. We can't believe how slow, inefficient, and inconsiderate they are to their customers. Needless to say they have lost a customer forever over something that should have been a simple procedure. Do not consider financing through Ally.

If you are considering a lease thru Ally Bank, and they offer a better interest rate than any other bank, I highly suggest you choose a different bank. I have had 3 prior leases from another major bank and have had zero issues, which is why I kept getting car leases. But Ally Bank is a whole different story. Try calling and get a straight answer to any question you have on your account. Or better yet, ask to speak with a supervisor about your complaint. You'd have more luck screaming your complaints at a wall.
Guess what Ally Bank, your agents saying "I do apologize," continuously does not overcome the terrible customer service and lack of actual help. As of April 19th, you have lost a customer forever. Your customer service is awful, and your pre-recorded messages are ill-timed. For example, dinner time on Easter Sunday. Also, I suggest that if you send a pre-recorded call thru someone, and during that call, you offer the customer the opportunity to choose a callback time to discuss their account, say between 9:00 and Noon, you actually contact that customer between those times. Rest assured, I will tell friends and family and social media contacts to avoid Ally Bank because of the horrible customer service I suffered thru for 3 and half years. Good Riddance.

I have leased many luxury vehicles in my lifetime. I have never had a bad experience, nor have I ever had to pay for damages at the end of a lease term. I had the worst experience with Ally Auto Financing, and need to warn consumers out there. When it became time to return a vehicle I leased through Ally Financial, I returned the vehicle 6 months early and completely paid off the total remaining payments. Called Ally 3 different occasions, attempting to schedule an end of lease inspection where I can be present but was told Ally does not do that. They informed me I did not need to worry; that I needed to do was to return the vehicle to the same dealership I leased it from and to take pictures from the vehicle.
They informed me that they would send an inspector to inspect the vehicle and send me a final bill. I told them that I did not think that would be fair, because I would want to be present during the inspection and have the opportunity to correct any damages, if any, prior to returning the vehicle. Ally instructed me that I did not need to worry, that if I received a final bill, and did not agree, I would have the opportunity to dispute it and that they would reverse any charges I did not agree on.
Ally sends you an end of lease kit. Prior to returning the vehicle, I thoroughly inspected the vehicle and it was in absolute normal condition within their guidelines. I took pictures of the vehicle, and left it at the dealership where it was leased. A few weeks later I received an outstanding bill of approximately $600. When I called Ally, they informed me I did not need to worry, that the vehicle was sold at auction and there were some credits to the account and that I would be receiving a new revised bill. The charges included 2 new tires and a large dent on the hood.
A few weeks later, I received another bill now in the amount of $395.02. Now, when I call, I am directed to a completely different department. The representative was extremely rude, short and spoke extremely poor English. I was told to go online and see pictures of the damages. When I saw the pictures taken by the so called inspector, I could not believe my eyes. They had a ruler that is used to measure the tire thread. The person holding the ruler is literally folding the paper and holding it up to show that the tires threads show to be not within normal wear and tear. The so called dent on the hood is nonexistent and it was never there.
I called Ally again and told them I did not agree with the pictures and that when I conducted the inspection with the kit they provided me, the tires were well within the allowable range and all dings on the paint were all within the allowed circle provided. I called to enter another dispute but was told that the dispute was denied and the charges stand. I told them that if the vehicle was already sold on auction with those tires, how come they are charging me. Besides a brand new tire for that vehicle costs approximately $60 and that they were charging $135 for each tire which is completely absurd and I do not agree. If I had been given an opportunity to be present during inspection, I could have had those tires replaced at a much lower cost.
I researched reviews on Ally Financial, and cannot believe the hundreds of negative reviews of people with the same complaints. They are thieves and need to be stopped. An American company cannot be allowed to conduct business this way. I need these charges completely removed and reversed. I do not want this to affect my excellent credit history and need someone to help me resolve this matter. I will never use Ally Financial again. Ask dealerships what financial company they use. If it is Ally, run!

I have never written a review in my life but when it comes to Ally I cannot hold back! They are a complete joke. In the 7 months that I have been using them, it's been nothing but issues. Expensive issues nonetheless! When I call to get an issue resolved, for one, clearly not one person can speak proper English! They refuse to transfer you to another rep who can speak clearly and will NOT allow you to speak with a supervisor! I have been paying for 7 months now 1038.00 a month for my truck note, and 4 out of the seven months they have charged me 1988.00 and then say they can't refund it back into my account that day--it will take 10 days and I'm sorry for the inconvenience! Hmm well sure didn't take 10 days to withdrawal it from my account!
And not to mention after the first time this happened I made sure I had the "one time payment" checked, and they still withdrawal from my account, and tell me I set up a scheduled payment, when I never did! Ally is a joke. The customer service is a complete waste of time! Word of advice--do not under any circumstances finance or lease anything through them! This is by far the worst company I've ever had to deal with! I guess my only option now is to close my bank account because they continue to take what they want! Honestly I do not see how they have not been sued and shut down with all the issues I've seen!

Approximately seven months ago, I obtained an auto loan from Ally Financial. My credit at the time was not great and I received a loan rate of about 11%. Since then, my credit score has increased almost 100 points and I am able to qualify for substantially better rates. I contacted Ally to inquire about refinancing the loan based on my current FICO score. The representative stated Ally Bank will not refinance their auto loans for the life of the loan and that I would need to go to another company to obtain a lower interest rate. I feel that Ally Bank has made an incredibly costly mistake not allowing their customers to refinance their loans. I am left with no choice but to take the loan to another lender which will ultimately cost Ally Bank several thousands of dollars in interest. I will not be recommending Ally Bank to anyone I know.

I had been satisfied with Ally for years, but their new billpay system failed to autopay a credit card, causing me to incur card fees. Ally's customer service is touted as being so good, but when it came to fixing this and reimbursing the fees (around $43). Ally had caused me to incur, they were worse than hopeless. They gave me a runaround for weeks.
Finally someone promised to resolve the matter, but nothing happened and my repeated emails went ignored and unanswered. After calling and complaining I got an unsigned, paper letter saying what amounted to, tough luck we're not reimbursing you. Ally may be good in the normal course of business, but when they break something, they stonewall like crazy and deny any responsibility. I'm looking at alternative online banks and suggest you do too. Ally has proven itself to be an unethical company.

I spent 45 min on the phone with them only to hear excuses and "I'M SORRY FOR YOUR INCONVENIENCE." - I will never deal with them again and after reading many reviews about them I think we should all get together with a lawyer. They are a shady bunch and many hidden fees etc.

I have leased six different vehicles over the years and have never had an issue with lease-end trade in - until Ally. They added on several charges for surface scratches and are charging me an extra month's payment because they say the van came in late - even though two different representatives told me I had until the 15th to get it to the dealership (and we got it there by the 11th). I've called Ally several times and sent three letters detailing my complaints but they never get back to me - and they keep adding interest to the balance they say I owe. Every step of the way, Ally has been terribly inept and it's been a most frustrating experience. (Everyone I talk to there tells me something different - and they refuse to budge on their excessive charges.) I would NEVER deal with Ally again!

Up until now I thought highly of Ally. Went to a dealership today to get the buyout from Ally and I heard the salesperson from the dealership trying to get through to the rep at Ally that he wanted a payoff. It was like he was talking to a person that had a 2nd grade education. He was nicer than I would have been. I expect to talk to people intelligent when I call Ally but that didn't happen today. I have never been late with a payment while having this lease car with Ally. Yet when applied to get an interest rate to stay with them for the buyout they came up with an interest rate that was 5% HIGHER than anyone else. What a disappointment this company is that they don't have the brains to know they just lost forever a good paying customer. I plan on telling everyone to stay away from this company.

Here is a review I had posted: I would give 0 stars if I could. I financed a brand new vehicle with this bank, and that was the biggest mistake I could have ever made. After getting another new vehicle, I had traded in the original vehicle (financed with ALLY), and they did not update the system, my credit report was negatively impacted because of this and they did not care in any way. I will never do any sort of business with them ever again in the future. I spoke to an individual named Clint (all he could provide me with was an extension number of **) and Renee (employee ID **), they are both extremely rude, did not help me in anyway, and spoke over me the entire conversation. Very disappointed in the customer service as well.

I called Ally Bank customer service because I was not able to make payments to a private person after this had already been set up on the bank account from which I was trying to make payments. The person who took my call was a woman named Mindy. The call quickly, but the customer service person was completely incompetent. She repeated the same question multiple times. She ignored my repeated requests to speak to her supervisor. She asked me to update a webpage that did not allow or even have a means of being updated. She seemed completely lost and kept me on the telephone from Sierra Leone for more than 30 minutes at the cost of more US$150 for the call, plus my time which I usually bill at US$1250 in 15-minute increments. This is very poor service indeed and I hope other will be warned about this very poor service company.

A simple car transfer of equity was more difficult to these folks than paying off America's debt. Please, everyone, avoid this company at all costs. I am currently, well was a owner of a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. I purchased from a Chevrolet dealer, in which financed me through Ally. I had never had any issues, since I originally purchased this vehicle back in 2014. However December of 2015 I made a payment out of a family member's account, since I couldn't make it to my bank in time of payment. I have only been a late a few times, in which I contacted Ally, in advance to let them know. I paid late fees the three times I had been late, which was always less than 5 days. In November of 2015 my family member noticed that recurring payments had been taken out of his account. The funny thing is, each payment that had been taken from his account was also being taken out of mine. Through Ally's website, I always do a "one Time payment".
So after a month of fighting with Ally, they returned the payments back to my family member's account. However they disregarded the fact it was coming out of mine as well. SO WHERE DID MY MONEY GO? POOF?! Never once did they call me to let me know of any further issues. As far as I was concerned also bank statement proofs, my monthly payments were still going to them! My father received a phone call on 12-31-15, regarding my account. Never once did I receive paperwork, nor a phone call to my cell. I originally purchased my vehicle at 22,000. Before this issue occurred I was down to $12,000. Now they have added a bunch of BS and I am back up supposedly to $19,000.
Their customer service is terrible, never can I get through to them. I have hired a lawyer, and he cannot contact anyone either. I have faxed all requested information multiple times, in which they supposedly never received. So they have sent a repo man, to my house who was very harassing and disrespectful. Threatening me with cops, in which I told him "Go ahead and call." He left finally after I told him I had a lawyer. Then they sent another one over a month later (2-29-15). Showing me she had a court order, we set up a time for (3-1-15) to pick up the vehicle, which it turns out the court order was a phony. Didn't even have my name or vehicle on this paper. I HAVE HIRED A LAWYER.
Do not finance through them at any cost. They are awful and disregard any issues you have, and it's impossible to get a hold of anyone. I worked at the dealership I purchased my vehicle, and there is more than my reason that they no longer finance through ALLY. THEY ARE A SCAM, AND WILL RIP YOU OFF AT ALL COSTS, to my opinion, and many others I have heard.

We just turned in our leased vehicle, a 2013 Dodge Journey. It was 2500 miles under the allotted mileage and we weren't charged anything for any 'wear and tear.' (There wasn't anything aside from some extremely minor scratches anyway.) Awesome! Oh wait, not awesome. Why do I owe $500 for personal property tax? I haven't called yet, as I just received the letter today (which is why I've given 2 stars, as I've called before about issues and it's been very difficult to understand what they want/expect (this was my first lease)). But if anyone knows anything about this, please help! We leased the car in PA originally and moved to VA, but thought the property tax on it was included in payments. I'm so confused and have no clue why we'd owe that much in taxes and AFTER the lease was up nonetheless.

On January 4, 2016, at the end of my three year lease term, I returned my leased 2013 Chevrolet VOLT to Martin Chevrolet in Torrance CA, the dealer from whom I bought/leased the car. The car was completely detailed inside and out the day prior and garaged until driven to dealership. Pursuant to the return instructions received from Ally Financial, the lessor, the inspection would be ordered by the dealer and I would be notified as to the result. On February 10, 2016, five weeks after the auto's return, I received notice that Ally had determined from that inspection that I owed $934.18 for excess wear. According to the inspection conducted by CTS, $648 of the excess wear was due to "Dull Paint." Ally provided a URL link to the report filed by CTS. The report claims "dull paint" and contains photos to support their claim but nowhere do the photos show Dull Paint!
Frankly, there was no dull paint anywhere on the car when I returned it. I cared for the car meticulously and had it detailed regularly and had the paint surface clayed at least four times over the lease term. I returned the car in "superior" or "like new" condition. To say I was taken aback that any wear claim could be leveled against the car is a significant understatement. Certainly not a claim of excess wear due to the paint finish! The car was in an accident and had been repaired. A fact that was reported to the Mr.G. **, Martin Chevrolet Lease Returns manager. The repairs were done by Chevrolet. Though repaired, the repairs were excellent and completely beyond reproach. There was absolutely no way to look at the car and know an accident had occurred. The only way to know of the previous accident would be to review the car's auto repair history. So, the car was repaired completely and by Chevy's.
Now CTS/Ally is claiming repairs have left the car with dull paint. I dare that assessment be concluded from the only proof they have of their claim, the very photos they are using to document said dull paint. The photos show no such thing. I feel I'm caught in some kind of racket between CTS, Chevrolet and Ally. The wear claim is simply bogus. It isn't quantifiable and can only be documented in photos. They took photos and those photos don't support their claim. It's the inspector's word against mine (and those of other witnesses I can supply). Given photos that can't substantiate their wear claim, Ally is ignoring the photo evidence and billing me $648 solely on the word of their independent inspector. If my pristine car can accrue excess wear claims, then every car in Ally's lease profile holds the potential for extra $500, that's a lease payment (or two).
On its face this has the appearance of systemic and measured scheme to squeeze the lease customer for monies outside of the lease contract, then I did some research. I've read online claims from other Ally lessees that refunds of their excess wear fee were offered as a discount to the basis of new lease/purchases I wouldn't know as I wasn't in the market to replace the VOLT I was returning. If this is true, that excess wear refunds are offered as incentives on new purchase/leases by the same Chevrolet dealer where the previous auto was returned and lease end inspection took place. It seems a very clever way to compel customers to stay with GM products. If however, the inspection company is in collusion with Ally and the dealership, that cleverness starts looking more like an unfair business practice and perhaps even racketeering.
One hand (Ally) creates a problem that only the other hand (GM) can fix. So, how independent are Ally inspection service agencies? There's no independence in the selection of the inspection agency. Ally (a GM affiliated company) hires the inspection agency and demands the inspection is done at the GM/Chevrolet dealer (a GM affiliated company) with no third party oversight or review. I, the lessee have no say in the matter and I'm not able to be present at the inspection. It's a black box, an end to end GM affiliated black box. At some point in the future, the car is judged and then I'm on the hook for whatever the determination may be with seemingly little recourse. And so too are all Ally lessees.
Ally is now threatening my credit without proof of a substantial portion of their wear claim. I allege that I'm subject to an unfair business practice. How do find protection from the opaqueness built into this inspection system? Either I fight on principal, jeopardizing my credit rating while spending more than Ally is fraudulently claiming or I capitulate. They have all the leverage and it's abusive. I will never lease from Ally ever again and it'll be a long time before I look in the direction of a GM product.

The experience with Ally bank has been horrendous. For the first time I am writing a review because they should not be in business. The customer service is unpleasant, representatives provide you with false names and disconnect after putting you on hold for 20-30mins. The bank has absolutely no integrity as I'm reading similar issues experienced by other clients. I leased my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee through this bank and after completely paying the lease off, the bank illegally charged my bank another monthly payment. I called and requested a refund. It was processed after a week and returned to my account. At the end of the term they send a bill that I owe them another payment.
I called to straighten out this issue and for the past 45 days they did absolutely nothing to fix this mistake after promising call backs. Called back the remarketing dept, lease return, and spoke to numerous 'managers'. To make matters worse they admitted to making a mistake and still have not removed the late payment from my credit. I am taking legal action and will take all measures against their brand and legal department. The citizens of our country should not support companies that issue false statements, bills, and report false debts to the credit bureau.

I decided to get the vehicle out of repossession since it was in my name and I would be on the hook for the remaining balance minus whatever it was sold for at auction. I called Ally and was given the amount to get it out of repossession and was told to pay via Western Union. So, I did this. I fought Ally for over a week and spent 10+ hours on the phone talking to every foreigner under the sun before I finally got a lawyer involved and they released the vehicle.
They tried to argue that I used Western Union speed pay instead of Western Union quick collect which was true. But, nowhere in their repossession letter to me does it say that. And, the person who I verbally spoke with to get the dollar amount did not specifically say that either. So, they continually admitted to receiving the money but would not release the vehicle because I did not make the payment in the correct way. I have never in my 41 years dealt with such a pathetic excuse for a company. How they are still in business is beyond me. I will never, ever use Ally for anything again and I can't stress enough to do the same.

I had a car loan thru Ally for almost 3 years. I have not had any problems until I sold the vehicle on January 11 to an individual that had their own financing. The bank immediately mailed a certified check to Ally for the agreed upon amount. I was told that it took up to 2 weeks to post to the account once they received the check. At about 2 weeks after the sale of the vehicle, I began to get solicitation emails congratulating me and inviting me to purchase a new vehicle and yet the amount was not credited to my account and it was even showing I had a late payment.
When I called, I was told a check would be sent to me of the overpayment and the title would be sent to the new lender. After that phone call, my balance online showed that I owed $0. I have had to call again as I STILL do not have the money that is owed to me (I sold the car over a month ago as I needed the money), nor does the new lending bank on the vehicle have the title. I have now been told that it takes 6 weeks to process overpayments and the title "in case there is any more activity on the account!!" There is not going to be any more activity! I am not paying them anymore and the balance is 0!!!
We will not be using Ally again and I will be recommending to all my friends and family to not use them. Not really understanding, in this day and age, how it is taking 6 weeks to get my money back when they can debit money from my personal account in a day. To top it off, I am getting harassing phone calls from the buyer regarding the title. Although I have to talked to someone at Ally, there is no complaint process that I can put in writing that I can email or send in a complaint to their site. I will be mailing them a complaint.

I have never had a finance company treat me like this. Here is my situation. I just bought a 2015 Lancer on Sept 2015. The car was great. Unfortunately I was involved in a car accident in Dec 2015 costing the total loss of my vehicle. My auto insurance company has been great. They sent Ally all the information needed since I have the better AND new car replacement. When my auto insurance sent the information, it would take Ally over 2 weeks to respond. When Ally sent any of the paperwork back to my auto insurance company, my auto insurance company would send Ally the updated information the next day. When I speak to my insurance company about it, they tell me they are waiting on Ally so they can pay off the vehicle.
I've called Ally several times and have been told "Your claim is with our total loss department". I tell them I know and I need to know what is taking so long for Ally to get this information to my auto insurance company so the vehicle can be paid off. They tell me you have to talk to them. Keep in mind, my auto loan for my first vehicle is with Ally's internal collection department.
But here is the kicker, TODAY I received an alert on my credit report saying I was between 30-59 days past due on my payment. ALL of this because ALLY has not sent the information to my insurance company so the other vehicle can be paid off. I called Ally today and got their collections department and I was told "You have to talk to our total loss department because we don't have access to that information.." This is completely unacceptable. I am working on repairing my credit and with this past due on my report, my report dropped 140 pts. I am going to get them to correct this but this is completely unacceptable. Also, when you set up an account with them online, how do they NOT have the ability to process credit card payments? Isn't this 2016? Classic.

They repeatedly ask customer's name multiple times and their security questions are endless and eventually unable to access customer's access due to the limitations given. During my conversation with them for the last two days they repeatedly said 'we are sorry' for 15 times. I think it is customer who should say sorry to this banks and their services and move over to different banks. This bank is misleading the public in the name of 24X7 without any virtual banks. Due to no fault of customer this bank blocks the Net access and ask us to give call and the wait list for the calls are pretty long.

I received a refund to get that refund to the dealer and get out of my defective engine that is costing me loss in pay, loss in sanity and lost wages and unreliable transportation. The dealer does not want the car! The Bank just calls and calls and threatens repossession when they are getting payments. I can not pay in full every month and they are aware because of the car sold to me and defective since one month off the lot. I can not be called 4-5x a day and re-explain. Very unprofessional, scary and most of all not fair.
They need to treat customers with care. Especially those stuck in a faulty vehicle. It has affected my credit. It has affected my career. What can you do??? Ally Bank Bloomington MN needs to have a work out team like every other major bank and company who works with people. This is by no means a late loan or standard default, I am driving a lemon!! I was told that the bank does not issue refunds but don't make a payment in October. October: Automatic withdraw of my monthly payment. I call to discuss. No resolutions but false promises and lies. I cancel my automatic withdraw telling them I will manage it personally. Ask for a refund. Said they would send a check. No check arrives. Phone calls continue from them to my work!! November: Make a partial payment. December: Make rest of payment for December. Calls begin with Ally claiming I owe them. I ask to send my bank records to them for verification. I was told that they were not allowed to do that.
What? I want to resolve this misunderstanding that has blown up to full crisis and they block me!!! Here it is February and I just received a Sunday early morning call from Ally!! This is harassment that is unwarranted. I want to sue! This company is absolutely the worst. I will be seeking legal counsel and possibly look into class action. This company is evil.

I got an invoice for approx. $400.00 on my returned leased car. They are claiming that my driver side doors are wavy, and they had to repair them. I asked them for a picture proof since it was perfectly fine when I returned the vehicle, but pictures were not available. I called in to talk to one of the representatives to explain my car accident and how it was all fixed. She told me that I can fax her a copy of the work order from my insurance company to prove that repair was properly done. I asked her for her email address, and she does not have one to accept my files. Who uses a fax machines in 2016! Anyway, I faxed 12 pages long documents and received a confirmation that my fax went through.
Two weeks later, I got a call from Ally that I still owe them money through my work phone which was never provided to them unless they got my fax cover. When I told this man what had happened with the other representative, he claimed that they never received my fax. That is very strange because he called me through my direct line using extension. Again, they would not obtain my work number and extension number unless they received my fax cover. Anyway, I faxed another set of documents with the contact person information and account number clearly listed on the fax cover.
Another two weeks passed, I got another letter that I still owed them money. Nothing has been done. I called them back in. Once again, they claimed that they never received my fax. I got annoyed and shared how I feel about the entire process, then he told me that they use a community fax machine and time to time faxes get misplaced. Also, he ensured me that he will confirm the receipt of the fax if I call him direct extension back as soon as my fax goes through. I followed his instruction and faxed my documents. Within 15 minutes, I called to make sure my fax got there. A different person answered the phone (which makes me to believe they do not have a person extension, so they do not have to take a full responsibility), and he told me that this person (I would not mention his name) is not available. If I leave my call back number, he will make my representative call me back within an hour. Did I get a call? You can guess it.

Then the nightmare begins, they have never received any payments although we received the letters from them. July the calls started, August they continue, end of September they repo the car saying she's three months behind and in order to get the car back she has to pay all behind months plus September and October, she did that.
The calls never stopped till this day although the car has been refinanced through someone else. According to their records they have never received a check from the finance company who has the check cashed by Ally. In the interim, ALLY continued its barrage of telephone calls while I explained that payments would not be forthcoming because of the damage they did to the car. They acted as if they were taking notes and asked for verification. I sent the documentation and not only do they still call, they hang up when you answer. Purchased a new vehicle and made larger payments to pay off the vehicle faster. We received a phone call from Ally from their collections department stating we were in arrears. Considering the last statement we received showed the next payment due was in 2018, we called them to find out that because our check arrived at their office after the "due" date shown on the statement (though paid months in advance), it put our account in arrears. After clearing that up, we called three days later to find that the check we sent them to pay off the vehicle was being sent back to us because it was short a few dollars from the correct payoff amount they showed.
Someone there had given us the incorrect payoff amount and instead of applying the check to our account, they are sending it back to us so they can charge us more interest until another check we send them for the correct payoff amount arrives to them. We have had many loans over the last few decades, and never experienced something like this before. We will never use them again and are warning others.

I've opened regular accounts with other banks online before with no problem. Even after this fiasco, opened one is about 10 minutes with no drama whatsoever. This bank (Ally), I'm answering all the required questions, then before I get halfway through the application, a message comes up saying I need to mail or fax them a copy of my Social security CARD. (???)
I check my email and there's a link there for me to "upload documents" to their site where to send a copy of my card, along with pin and access numbers. I replied and asked why they needed this and why they couldn't just do a regular check like everyone else. No answer. Get up the next morning, still no reply so I try again. This time, I got a little further in the process, but once again, the SSC message comes up, and same message in my email box. I just told them I'd ask Better Business Bureau why they need all that information when other banks don't. Went to another site and got on in about 10-15 minutes - NO DRAMA. I can understand the social security NUMBER, because most financial institutions do use that even to just do a quick check, but asking for a copy of your CARD? Just seems a little sinister to me.

After being laid off from my company ally offered a two month extension. I made the required payment the following day as agreed and waited for my paperwork to be mailed. After waiting over a week I received the papers, signed them and mailed them in the return envelope. That was mid November. Since it had already been approved all they had to do was process it. I continued to get 5-6 phone calls on a daily bases. I would explain to them I have an extension. They would read the file and apologize. This went on for weeks with no help from the collections department. They weren't able to transfer me or tell me who to speak with to get it resolved. All they could do was email the department. Mid December rolls around and I'm still getting the 5-6 calls a day starting at 8am. I again receive extension paperwork in the mail now dated Dec 23rd. I again sign them and mail back per the instructions.
The calls continue until Jan 13th when I find out my car is in repo status because my extension has not been processed. I make a payment that day and this time I fax the extension papers in. The calls continue on a daily bases. I received a letter today (Jan 19th) stating I owe the back payments by the 26 or they will take possession. I've never been able to get an answer as to why they aren't processing my paperwork (it was approved). There is a huge lack of communication with not only the customer, but between departments. I worked in lending for many years and I'm very familiar with extension and the lending policies. Clearly the lack of management is hurting their customers and my credit. Luckily I have an attorney in the family to help me resolve the issue and to look into the harassing phone calls I've received on a daily bases.
I did my part by making the payment for the extension and mailing in the paperwork three times. Why can't ally do their part? Why can't someone explain to me why it hasn't been processed? Why can't the people who promised they would look into it call me back and explain what is going on? Why can I only reach the collection department? Why is ally so incompetent?

Shady, I tried making my car payment twice this month. The first time I submitted 350$ and my bank account showed 500$ was taken out for some transaction which I never made. So they returned my payment and charged me a 30$ fee. Next I thought, "Ok I must have made some mistake" though I was watching my account statements like a hawk and don't know how this could have happened. Next they return my money to my bank account minus the 30$ fee, so I make another payment for 300$ and make absolute sure I do not go over on spending so there is no mistake made again. Once again they return my payment and charge me 30$ again. I was not overdrawn in my account. I call them and can't get a clear answer, only that it's my fault. I'm fully willing to take full responsibility if I was accidently overdrawn but I wasn't! Very frustrating! I would never do business with these people again.

With the balance taken care of, I am mailed extra late fees that are not explained in the mail or with the 'help' of their customer service call representatives. The explanations given were that there are year-old late charges that don't show up online but need to be paid with no record of the late payments. After 3 different calls with 3 different people, they push me to make payments on time to avoid late fees while making no attempt to address the late fee or even explain or show me why the fees exists. I'm tired of fictional late fees.

Against all my advice, my 86 year old mother signed up with Ally Bank. She was unable to get an account reopened at Chase after her ID was stolen. She was disabled and unable to go in to DMV to get a new ID card so she settled for getting an online banking account. Ally seemed to work ok for a while. She gave me the debit card to do her shopping for her. Sometimes I would buy things for her out of my own account if she couldn't afford it at the time and she would let me use her debit card if I needed it to pay me back. In November of this year she became very ill and, sadly, passed away on December 23rd. This has been very hard on me and my family. Before she passed, mom made me the executor of her will and told me to use her bank account to pay her bills like she had done all along. Many of them are automatically withdrawn.
I paid some of her bills with the debit card and then suddenly the whole account was shut down. I checked my mom's emails and she had received one from Ally (on the day they shut her account down) that said someone had changed the "telephone pin number". I called Ally to find out what had happened. The first person I spoke with wouldn't tell me anything at all without approval from my mom. When I explained she had passed away she said something like "So sad, too bad." and hung up. The next person I spoke with couldn't figure out what the email was about and said the account was still open. He said they automatically block accounts as soon as they get notice of a death. He said to call back the next day when the business office was open.
To make a very long story short, I made phone calls over the next week on a daily basis. I was usually told something that contradicted what I had been told the day before. I faxed them a letter with a copy of my mom's will and my ID. It took 3 days of phone calls just to verify that they received these documents! I was finally told today that the account is blocked so none of the bills that come in automatically will be paid. In other words, water, heat, electricity will all be shut down with possible frozen pipes and spoiled freezers full of food to name a few "inconveniences". I was also finally told what document I needed to send to them and what my options are. One of those options is to open an Estate Account which will never happen in this lifetime. I will never give this bank another cent of my money or my mom's money. They have no idea what they are doing.

The dealership called to get the $ needed from them to process the deal. I have family and friends at the dealership so I know they were doing what they needed to do on their end. On Dec. 19th, Ally withdrew from our bank acct. money for Dec. payment. Unfortunately, I had used money from that account as a deposit on our new lease and therefore when Ally took money that they should NOT have ~ I was overdrawn.
Now, the dealership sent the payoff so Ally has extra money that belongs to US!!! I have made several calls, at first they said they never rcv'd the odometer statement. I called everyday, talked with several different people, got several different fax numbers, they could not give me an address to have someone sign for it. Mind you, the dealer had sent it numerous times to the fax number they always used. I was told by someone at Ally that number goes to the Philippines somewhere. Grrrrr. I have argued with them about our money that they should not have taken from our account.
Finally, after three weeks, they agree to refund it. I was told it would take (3) days and they would put it back in electronically ~ Hmmmm ~ well, that didn't happen. Today I called, after talking to someone who gave me the old spiel about not getting any money until inspection and auction...... I said NO, I want someone that can tell me when I am getting my money!! First I was told the check was signed last week. They hold it for 10 days (they couldn't give me a reason why), then another 3-5 days it will be mailed. What happened to the electronic transfer?? Then someone else said "It is in the mail." Okay, now I get the old checks in the mail routine. I am really fried on this one. Thank goodness our new lease is with another company!! I do not recommend this company to anyone!! Leased a Chevrolet Tahoe in March of 2014 in Texas. Signed the exemption form that states our vehicle is not used for generating income. We call to find out what the charge is and we are told personal property tax. What? Why? We knew we did not owe.
Similar to many other reviews, multiple calls to Ally yield nothing other than frustration. It took forever to get the requested tax bill from our county of residence from which Ally is billing us. What we received was a typed letter from Ally with random dollar amounts. My call today finally produced resolution. After talking to 6 different people who were obviously overseas, I was connected to a lovely [lucky #7] lady in Florida in the personal tax department that explained that Ally had the exemption form all along and failed to submit the paperwork to the county in time, thus generating a tax bill in my name.
Despite having the necessary paperwork, Ally paid the tax bill "on our behalf" and then billed us, knowing that we did not owe the money. This is shady at best. We have never had issue with Volkswagen, Honda or Jeep. We will never work with Ally Bank again. Read your statements closely and question everything as their practices are unethical. Don't give up. Told Ally I will make a payment online, that way there would be no extra fee. Ally locked me out of my online account so I would have to pay a fee unless I mailed, but they wanted payment right away. I had no choice and forced into buying this car because Ally would only finance it. They broke every Massachusetts law as far as repossession and after I bought car months later I realized it was flooded and I was a victim of predatory lending. I am out of disability collect SSDI.

When dealer found out about car I wanted to get out of it, they didn't even want to talk about it. They knew the car was flooded again, did not show any Carfax.
I have been talking to Ally and getting nowhere. Dealership played with the numbers so it would look like I was putting down more than my trade worth. I had no choice, needed car. It looked and ran good for 3 months, put so much money in car. So talk to attorney for a free consultation, he will take case but $300/hr. I have no choice so will have to hire within the week. My credit ruined, not all Ally's fault but repairs to car has made me late at times. Also when called company who repo car they called me a dead beat, also damaged car. Ally has caused me stress and they know this situation. I don't want to talk to them but I have to, anything I say does not matter only what they say matters.

After discussion with a manager, Ally states they can put any number on the vehicle that they want because they own it. Very unethical. Don't Lease from Ally.

I have an auto loan with Ally. I always paid on time but noticed when I paid more than the minimum they never subtracted it off the principal like I requested, instead they just took the amount off the next bill. In this way they keep more interest money. After finally making adjustments to the account as requested (like pulling teeth) they did not credit my account for an early monthly payment I just made. Ever since and now 6 months later I am getting hassled for late payments and they have screwed up my credit report. They actually charged me a late fee for paying early!
Six months later despite at least 20 call and e-mails to account representatives and supervisors, they still have not corrected this account matter. Even worse is the fact that I am so fed up with these idiots I tried to re-finance to get away from this terrible nightmare but they have screwed up my credit rating by reporting late payments which didn't happen. I feel now that I have to hire an attorney and will sue them and copy the Attorney General. What a terrible company!!!

I purchased a vehicle on August 5, 2015 and was approved through Ally Bank. My first payment was due September 5, 2015. I sent my first payment via money order. Ally claimed my 1st payment was due August 27, 2015, so of course they added on a late fee. I never knew a bank to demand payment 3 weeks after purchase. My next payment due, I decided to make an automatic payment through my checking account. Of course Ally waited until after the due date to pull the payment, which resulted in more late fees. The next payment was done the same way through automatic deduction through my bank account. More late fees because Ally waits until after the due date to pull the payments. Then they proceed to call and harass me at least 5 times a day beginning at 8:00, even on Sundays, to collect late fees.
On December 23, 2015, 2 weeks before my next payment was due, a tow truck shows up to repo the vehicle. I called Ally to see why was my vehicle being repossessed and was told that I hadn't made a payment since September, which was a lie because I have email confirmations from Ally stating that my payments had been received. They told me that my September payment did not go towards my account because I failed to put an account number on my money order. Even though they cashed my money order, it went to something that they call an unidentified account. Add that to my late fees every month, it caused my vehicle to become repossessed. I obtained a copy of my credit report the same day that Ally repossessed my vehicle, credit report shows that I never been late with Ally and that all payments have been made. Ally Bank is nothing but con artists.

So I called and asked that either a release be overnighted to me or an email sent with a letter on company letterhead sent to me to satisfy my state to allow me to transfer title.
Well first I was told, "we can fax it to you," cannot use a fax copy has to be original signature. "We do not use email, only faxes." How does a company in 2015 not use email to fix a mistake of over two years to correct their mistake. Then I am told they want me to pay to have the release sent. Why should I have to pay for their mistake. Then I was told it would be sent via FEDEX, well they have no tracking number and cannot tell me where my release is.
I ask to talk to a manager only to find out I cannot talk to a manager, it takes up to 48 hours for a Manager to contact me. It has been 2.5 years that my lien was not removed and when I ask to get help I am told "I understand". How can you understand you cannot email me my document, I cannot talk to a manager, and I cannot sell my car due to a mistake outside of my control.
Then I call back and after reading the computer screen the young lady puts me on hold and never picks back up after 15 minutes. Awesome customer service and great place to be a manager as you never have to talk to a customer. Everyone should buy a car and use Ally so we can keep this wonderful company in business. A big confusing circle emerges. Every time I have called for the last two months, I have been redirected and redirected some more talking with people who are rude, give me attitude and tell me they'll call me back because they don't have the answers.
Their promises to call back go unfulfilled. Not once over the plethora of times have they promised to call back have they done so. When I call again and have to give my information for the umpteenth time, there is no record that I called or who I spoke with. I purchased a vehicle in 2011. No late payments ever. Never had any issue with my loan, the app or online account. I decided to sell my vehicle myself but had a balance of $8k on my loan which I decided to pay all at once. Well, I thought all at once. Apparently with online payments, they place a cap on how much you can actually pay at one time then the 48-hour processing delays you from making an additional payment until that one clears. This payment debacle lasted for 4 (business) days.
I contacted Ally to get my release of lien letter. They told me that it would be sent to me within 10 days. Again, business days. Waited 10 days and no letter so I contacted Ally again to find out where they sent the letter since my address where I registered the car is now different than where I live. Couldn't tell me. I asked them to send it to me electronically or via fax. Sure, but that would start the request all over again, another 10 days. After that 10 days was up and still no letter received, I requested a status update on my lien release letter. Oops guess that starts the process all over again. Another 10 days. By the time it was all said and done, I had waited a month to receive a release of lien which I was entitled to receive immediately, in my opinion.

The CSR kept my wife on the phone line for 1.5 hours (yes, 90 minutes) telling all sorts of stories and finally agreed to close the account and send us a check for the proceeds. The check did not come and the account was not closed.
My wife called the bank again, two days ago, and spoke to another INEPT CSR, who told her that he would rush the check to us by FedEx but would debit the expenses to our account! What an attitude of the bank! They delayed our check and they want to charges us for mailing! I then wrote a nasty email to Jeff Brown, CEO of Ally Financial, copying Diane Morais, CEO of Ally Bank saying how bad their institutions were, with a link from Facebook spewing horror stories about several customers' experiences. I decided to sell my 2015 GMC Yukon that I held a lease through Ally. After meeting with the buyer we agreed to just have them assume the lease. The buyers and I filled out the lease transfer paperwork. After they left the same day I asked Ally to cancel my auto pay (which was not due to draw for 15 days). They stated it was taken care of. 15 days later I notice the money deducted from my account (I was changing banks and closing the account. There was not any money in the account so I was hit with an overdraft fee and had to transfer money back into the account I was trying to close). So I can to check on the status of the lease transfer and dispute the auto pay. They said the paperwork was filled out wrong and that we needed to reapply for the transfer (even though we called after submitting the paperwork and were told it was all filled out correctly).
So the people decided to just buy the car. So they went to their local credit union to get a loan to payoff the car. Well Ally does not allow this. They said I have to literally pay them from my account then I can sell the car. Now the buyer decided to just get a new one from the lot. So I went to trade the car in. My payoff was 50K. The dealerships payoff was 53K. How can Ally be this deceptive. I do not want my car anymore and I can't get rid of it without getting ripped off. This company is HORRIBLE. I will never buy a car from GM or deal with Ally again. I have been on the phone with them at least 25 different times. You get a different answer each time you speak with a rep. They are trying to tell me now it is a 8-year loan and there are 59 months left which don't make any sense.
The vehicle is too old to even get that length of a loan. How can they change my loan when I did not sign up for 8 years. I am also having the blues with Ally beyond the point of frustration. Have a lease ending on my auto for personal use and wanting to buy out. Well to my surprise, Ally enjoys adding on personal property taxes to pay off balances and refuse to remove the amount. Despite my efforts to explain my car is exempted from personal property taxes in my state, Ally insist on collecting the tax from me at payoff to the tune of $1,200.00 extra dollars. I contacted the tax authorities in my county and was told everyone complains about dealing with Ally. Anyhow, the tax authority provided documentation supporting my car exemption for the current and previous year. While I would like to get the money I paid for personal property tax on my exempt leased car for 2 years, I know now that it will be impossible to get my refund from Ally.
The customer service reps are clueless, give you the run around, pretend they don't understand your issue, and re route your call to other clueless reps. What I need is a corrected payoff letter from Ally that does not include personal property taxes so my lender can finish my paperwork to finance my loan on my car. While I paid the taxes I was billed from Ally after they claim they paid the tax authority, Ally misapplied every payment I made on the personal property taxes. I had to call them every month and ask them to reverse the payments from lease payments and apply towards the tax. That process seems to take up to 5 days to process.
When I contacted the tax authority to verify what amount was received from Ally for payment on the personal property tax bill, I was not surprised to find that Ally did not pay the county the amount of the bill they billed me for. The county provided me with an amount of 900.00 less than Ally's figure. Ally is defrauding customers out of their money. I don't know how they legally get away with collecting excessive bogus fees from customers. All I want is to pay the correct amount as stated in my lease agreement and be done with Ally. Ally needs to be investigated around their deceptive practices around charging and collecting bogus fees. I would assume Ally has some responsibilities under federal regulations being a financial institution.

Being the caretaker for my mom who has been in and out of the hospital since August, I was surprised to see the repo at our door this past Sunday, but then the light went off in my head that it totally slipped my mind. OK no big deal, can't fault ours for my absentmindedness and handed over my mother's keys and he gave me the info for me to get the van back. So my mother calls Ally, gets the amount that is owed and is told she can only pay my money order. Something didn't smell right, but since it was our first dealing with a repo didn't think twice, until I took my mother to her bank to transfer funds. We are talking to her bank representative in person and tell him the whole situation and he advised us not to send a money order that we could get scammed out that money and Ally could back stating we never paid.
Plus, I wasn't happy we had to pay 5 dollars for every 50 dollars sent via Western Union and that was going to cost another 200. So I call Ally for additional payment options (debit card by phone, check or online payment) I get transferred to the delinquent department which isn't even Ally and ask how I can pay other than money order. The person barely spoke English, but told me my only option was money order. I stated there are options to pay all other times by debit card or check or online and I would like to pay by those options. She tells me something along the lines that since it is in their department now, they can only take money order.
I asked if this department was a part of Ally. Her answer was this is a different department. I ask to speak to a supervisor at Ally to discuss my situation. She patches me through and I am prompted to select 1 for Ally America etc etc so I push 1 and speak to pleasant lady with a southern accent, tells I can either money order or check online. Great, hang up the phone and decide to work on it Thursday so I can use a computer with a printer to cover all bases. Thursday morning I make an online account and when I select to make payment the website seems to glitch back to a sign on page. I click the chat now and speak to the online rep. Mary Jane explain about the night before. I get a reply stating I don't have that option. I ask why would I be given option, she tells me to call.
I make a statement saying "Why is it so difficult to accept my money? I am trying to make the account, right?" So I call, I get placed into the delinquent department I immediately ask for a manager in customer service. The girl tries to deny me, I repeat myself stating "I want a manager." She denies me again, I ask for her name it was Bion. I repeat my request 7 times and tell her this and then she finally sends me other to a supposed supervisor. I explain my situation to him he asks me to hold and sends me back to the delinquent department. I tell them I want a manager. I get transferred again to a man and the connection is terrible, explain my story to him he places me on hold sends me back to delinquent department.
I hang up and redial Ally, 0 to get a rep on the phone they state they can't help without my account so I give it to them. I say I need to speak to a manager at Ally not this delinquent department. Placed on hold and get transferred to delinquent department. I hang up, call back and refuse to give my account and state I need manager and I will tell them everything they need.
I get placed a customer service liaison. So I tell her my story, she states I really need to speak to delinquent department. I state "they can't help me with the money order situation." She says she will put through to the supervisor I ask for the name, she wouldn't give it to me. She asks me to hold comes back and says she is transferring me to Bion. I tell her "I already know that she is not the supervisor." She tells she needs to transfer me to Bion in order to transfer me to Bion's supervisor. When we are sitting at the dealership, they call Ally and they were told that we owed $626 more than what we were told just hours ago. When we asked them to detail what the additional charges were, we were told it was for personal property taxes that the city charged them and that they then charged us. My wife wanted her new car so we paid the extra fee and then did some research.
After contacting the city our mail comes from, we actually live in the country, we were told that they did not submit a bill to Ally for the PP Tax. I then called the County to see if maybe they had. The County told me that they had told Ally for the past 3 years we were exempt from the PP Tax. In the meantime my wife calls Ally and they tell her that they will send us a copy of the letter requesting the money so we can file it on our taxes. Once we have the info that there was no bill sent and that they owe us the money, they now are telling us to go to the dealership to get our money. 2011 - Rewrite of contract to lower monthly payment. Three rewrites were sent. I received two, both with different info. At Ally, no one knew what the other one was doing. Per REPRESENTATIVE, they (at that time), had 2 computer systems WHICH WERE NOT LINKED TOGETHER! Car was repoed based on info on 1 of the computer systems. Payments were current. I have 217 pages of my personal "notes/conversations w/Ally". Sent Ally a copy, and they are still saying but, but, but! End/beginning of 2014-2015 an Ally rep said "HER COMPUTER SHOWED THE CAR WAS STILL IN REPO STATUS"!
Howard Sommers Towing kept the car for 30 days because Ally could not figure out what happened! Duh?! It is now Oct 2015 and I AM STILL DEALING WITH THE REPO FEES THEY WANT ME TO PAY (in collections). I am now going to mail my 217 notes to the BIG GUY at ALLY, whoever that is! Ally owes me some money for all of the work I have put into this MESS and trying to straighten Ally out. By the way, after just the 1st day that the car was at H. Sommers, the 4 original floor mats were missing, and a main piece on the outside of the passenger door was also missing. Saturn cars are not being made any longer. Where do I find the part/mats? Who is going to pay for them?

If you don't want your customers' business then don't open up an account and then close it hours after. Be upfront because this is stupid. Purchased a vehicle through a Chevy Dealer. Went with Ally due to low-interest rate. Big mistake. I sent extra money (as I do with some bills) for the first three months. Usually when doing this with car and house loans the amount paid over goes to the principal. Ally send us a statement for the next month which is lower than what we signed the contract for to pay. I again paid more than what was asked for on the bill. Well, the next month the invoice is for even less than the previous month. I saw that the extra money wasn't going to the principal but rather toward what was being requested each month. Now this should have been the first clue.
So I paid exactly what was on the invoice. I then get a notice three weeks later that we needed to pay an additional $30 or it was going to be reported on our credit as late. We called Ally (another big mistake) to find out why this was happening. We talked to a complete idiot for about 30 minutes on the phone and she couldn't/didn't understand the problem. Told her to let me talk to her supervisor, who was not any smarter or helpful so we asked to talk to her supervisor. Was told it could take up to 48 Hours to get a call back from a manager.
Long story short. The so called "Manager" called us 6 days later and stated it is a computer problem on their end. They know they have a lot of unhappy and angry customers but they can't fix it at this time. She stated that when a customer pays more than what is due for the month that they credit it to the principal and they also credit it to the next month's bill but that customers are expected to pay the original loan amount and not what the invoice says. She also stated that customers can call every month, that they make an overpayment and ask to have the account "rebilled" so that the principal is credited for the overpayment and not the next month's bill. I told her both of those statements make no sense as they are crediting them twice with the same payment but making them call in to get credit for the same payment that they just paid.
We went round and round with her making excuses for why they can't fix their system and that they see nothing wrong in making their customers (hopefully not many for long) do all of this extra work. We have had many auto loans through the last 5 years. We have never had any problems with overpayments being applied only to the principal and the invoice amount being the same each month. I will never use Ally again and I will not buy at a dealership that uses Ally as their loan company. We will be transferring our loan ASAP.

If I could give this bank negative stars, I would. This whole process with them has been a complete nightmare. I used them while I waited for my bank to approve my loan for re-finance. While the check was waiting to be "processed" by Ally, I got numerous calls per day from their collections department trying to retrieve the amount owed. Each time I told them the payoff check is there and they would say "okay, we noted it you should not receive any more calls." Two hours later, I would receive another call. They then sent back my check claiming I did not have proper postage. 6 state post offices processed it, but they would not.
This delayed my payoff and I received a daily interest charge. They say once the check is received the interest charges will not be accrued, but they lie. They then called every day again and asked me for my payment (while the check was processing for the second time). They started calling the dealership asking for my payment. Not to mention, not one person that called or I called spoke English. So happy to be done with this poor excuse of a company.

I reached out to Ally this morning in regards to my Auto Loan Apr. Before shopping around for a lower Apr I figured I talk to the bank I am doing business with on my auto loan. I reached out to them to see if they can lower my Apr. I have been a client of theirs since May of 2014 and have been making my payments before my due date, never missed or late on payments and pay approx. $50 more than my current monthly payment.
After explaining to the rep that I was looking to lower my Apr he put me on hold for 5 minutes and comes back and says "sorry, we don't have a program to lower Apr and you are locked in." I have never heard such a statement in the past. The rep goes off to tell me go to a dealership to refinance your loan to lower your payment. Umm... Why would I go to a dealer to lower my payment when I am already doing business with you?
Also, why do I want to lower my payment if I am paying you more than what is my monthly payment? I explained to him I want more of my money going to my payment instead of the Apr and fine with paying my current amount. He tells me again they don't have such a program and can't help me further. Are you kidding me!!! I told him I will look at other option in another bank and take my business to someone else. He says "sorry we can't do anything for you... " So much for client retention. I purchased a car in June of 2011, shortly after I was divorced. I had great credit and I got a very low interest rate through Ally from the dealership so I went with them. I had financed through GMAC in the past and never had an issue with them, even paid off with a cashier's check at their local office and received the title within 10 days. So I thought Ally would be the same... Boy was I wrong.
My biggest issue is that I will schedule online payments (I refuse to schedule automatic payments because of the issues I see on here), get an email confirmation, and then start getting calls from Ally. At first I just ignore them, but as it gets past my due date and I check my bank account, I realize they never pulled the funds! This has happened on more than one occasion. Unfortunately, a few times I had deleted the email confirmation, so I learned to keep those. But even then, when I call, they will argue with me that I never scheduled the payment, even when I have a confirmation number!
It just happened again today... I had scheduled a payment to come out four days ago, and started getting calls last weekend. I checked today and realized that my pending payment had been erased from my Ally account and nothing taken from my bank account. Is this all so they can get more money from me? Luckily I am close to paying this car off! Of course, I'm sure that will make them mad, too, when that happens. I will be prepared for the backlash when I call for my payoff. And never buy a car through them again.

My mother-in-law died in December 2014. Father-in-law leased 2015 Malibu just before New Year day. He change account payments to automatically pay from checking account. He died SIX weeks after the lease contract signed with Ally Auto. The bank froze his account, no one including businesses could touch the frozen account.
How can a family, friends, or neighbors immediately handle funeral plans and grief? Also, how can they handle 100 percent of all accounts within 19 days, especially when there's no knowledge of which account's payments? The Ally Auto contract has no specific details regarding penalty upon leasee death. Current status is they are charging for late payment, late fees, additional 33 month's costs for contract broken by leasee. Disputes have been opened, but they are still stating the leasee required to make payments. With the contract it's stated the vehicle cannot be transferred to anyone by the leasee or family?
My point blank concern - how can a person that died be liable for late payments, fees, interest, contract early cancellation? Based upon this experience, OUR FAMILY STATES NO ONE OVER AGE 65 SIGN A CONTRACT WITH ALLY AUTO. IT'S HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO SELECT ANOTHER LOAN COMPANY!!! Chance of death is higher after age 65. My father-in-law had other contracts such as propane, phone, medical equipment. Every one of those non-Ally Auto companies have waived late fees, interest charges, and early cancellation costs. Only one-time communication was necessary, including copy of death papers. Ally Auto hasn't required proof of death and there's been over four attempts for dispute; have had been transferred to over 20 people. Why???

I tried to refi with several banks and was denied because Ally listed our monthly payments at $306 to the credit bureau - our payment is actually $500. In May of this year, there was error on their part, something glitched on their website, and they somehow began reporting me as being past due. Now, I am absolutely current on the balance of my account, but their flawed system is showing me as overdue by an unspecified number of days. As it show up on my credit though, I am over 90 days, which has succeeded in plummeting my score that I've worked so hard at bringing up.
When I try to figure it out with them over the phone, I am connected to what must be the cheapest, most low rate "phone farm" in the middle east because these people are absolutely useless and can do nothing to help me. I have even had one person tell me that they can't figure out why my account is showing as past due, but they refuse to do ANYTHING to correct the situation, and it just keep reporting negative to the credit bureaus. At this point, I'm going to have to just pay them this mystery money that they say I owe so it stops reporting and hopefully my score can start going back up. I called right away and was told I should have hired a third party to look over the car and note any damage as Ally suggested. I guess since I didn't do this it was an invitation to get money out of me!
The rep over the phone reviewed the pictures they took with me. I was not able to look at the car myself, nor are you allowed to be present when they look it over. Excuse after excuse, I finally had it when I was told that the reason why I couldn't see the 20 dents on the door was because I didn't have a trained eye. I was given the option of paying my bill in full or 3 installments or be placed in collections. I tweeted so that others would not make the same mistake by leasing through Ally.

After 3 to 5 business days, I called back and talk to him again and they said it'd be another 10 business days because it was paid through bill pay. After the 10 business days, I called back again and they said if I'm having so much problems they would send me a check. Needless to say, no payments were ever received back from them to me but according to their records both payments for that month were returned to my account. When I call to ask him what account they send the money to, they tell me they don't know. How can a financial institution not know where they send money to?
Now they're saying my truck is three months behind. They repoed it and now want $3,100 for me to get it back. When asked about the situation with the returns, they told me they show no record. I asked them what I'm supposed to do. They speak frankly, stated it's not their problem. This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. Due to the discrepancy, I was unable to transfer funds to/from Ally Bank. I have spent over six hours on the phone with Ally Bank over the course of three weeks attempting to attain a name correction so I can finally transfer funds into my account. Because you always deal with a new person, I have had to repeat myself six times and have spent almost six hours on the phone in total.
Each time I have been told "I will have this taken care of" and each time I am called back several days later only to say I have to send in more documentation (which has already been sent in) because nothing is being linked to my account. The customer service representatives never take accurate notes and the new customer service representatives never read the notes prior to listening to the situation. I have been told on multiple occasions that I cannot "change my last name." I AM NOT TRYING TO CHANGE MY LAST NAME. I have been told I need to change my name. I AM NOT TRYING TO CHANGE MY NAME. I am attempting to complete a name correction so my name on Ally Bank matches all of my other accounts at other institutions. Recently, I was told, they received my signature card. So I continued to make payments, but for only half the of amount of my monthly bills since I was already up a year and a half in payments. But then I started to get past due reminders and late charges. So I called their customer service, which is absolutely horrible! The reps are from other countries (India I believe). I was already frustrated by what was happening, but when you get a rep that you have to keep asking to repeat themselves because they're accent is so strong, plus they just keep repeating what you're saying because they don't have real answers... of course it will make anyone insane!
So the call took almost an hour with one rep, but when I finally spoke to a supervisor... it took less than ten minutes to answer what I was asking and to "resolve my issue"... or so I thought. She claimed she fixed the issue and that it would take up to 48hrs to be updated. Of course it wasn't. Second time I called about it, Rep said last person I spoke to didn't do it right and that he fixed it again and you guessed it... up to 48hrs to see change. Again, that didn't happen. Third time I called about it, a sup told me that what I was told would get done, is not possible.
So the other 3 people I spoke to about it were lying or didn't know?? Obviously somebody doesn't know the policies... But their incompetence should not be at my expense. I called customer service department at ALLY and was sent right back to the crazy people in the PHILIPPINES. I got my car back but I was way overcharged for it, so no I am going to file a lawsuit against ALLY because they are some creeps and need to be dealt with by the Consumer Regulatory Commission.

I financed a vehicle with these folks and 25 days later, I had a total loss fire that took the house and the car. My insurance co, once I took care of the title and taxes, processed the claim. I had notified ALLY twice and yet they still added a late payment to my credit report. If they had not been difficult with the Insurance co. this nonsense would have never happened. Just brainless because the lender for our other car had it processed and updated in 24 hours.

Our car lease was through Ally Bank. After lease termination we received a statement for "excess damages." I called to questions the damage charges, but could not find ONE competent CS rep to speak intelligently and factually regarding my account. One rep said, "don't worry about the bill. Once the car is sold to someone else we will send you a final bill of what the damages were?" What??? My statement clearly states the amount due and my credit will be negatively affected if not paid by due date.
Transferred to another supervisor after 30 minutes... She couldn't offer any advice and wanted me to call back later and go online to review my account. I did... Online information COMPLETELY different than statement information. Again called customer service... They couldn't confirm my lease end warranty. Asked how they came up with the calculation of what I owe? Couldn't answer the question. Shameful! Outsourcing at its worst!

Ally auto has made my life a living nightmare. I purchased a car in 2013. Few months ago, I asked for an extension. It was approved. The next step was to send me a letter and I would have to fax it back. I faxed the letter 3 times, for some reason they never received it. A month later, I got rude phone calls from the collection department. Saying my payment was so many days past due. The only problem is I actually was making payments and I have my bank statement to prove it. Not one time they asked me to fax over my bank statements at least to see what was going on. As of today, my phone is on their auto dialer. They call every other day being rude. I swear this company need better reps that are nice, if it wasn't for my credit I swear I would tell them to come take this car. I rather buy a new car and lose the money I put into this car than to deal with these jerks another 3 yrs!!!

A interested buyer went to Bank of America and did a auto loan on my husband's car without speaking to him. BOA sent Ally the balance of the loan and Ally sent my husband's title to the buyer. The sales was not complete nor was the title handed over to my husband so that he can take it to the DMV to remove his name from that title. So we have learned that anyone can buy your car without talking to you and get your title. Call me old fashion but something seems crooked here.

Purchased a car in Honolulu, HI. I have moved several times for work and this car was registered in 3 different states after purchase. I updated my information with Ally, but it apparently never was recorded or did not matter. Once my car loan was paid in full, I never received a title. I contacted Ally and they sent me a letter stating that the loan is paid in full no further information (where titled etc.) however this is useless at the DMV. I contacted Ally again and they stated the car was "electronically" titled in California so I did not receive a paper title from them. The very rude rep stated there was nothing they could do to get my title transferred as my loan was paid off. I sent the appropriate forms to California for a duplicate title (even though I never received the original title). DMV California informed me via mail that the car was never titled in California.
I then called customer support for Ally again and they now inform me that my car is titled in Hawaii AND that they had sent me the title in March 2013 (even though they had previously stated that they couldn't/wouldn't send a title because it was "electronic"). My car has been paid in full for two years and I still do not have a title. I was lied to by Ally about where my car title is located and how they processed the title (mailed or never mailed it was electronic). I am now waiting to see if I receive a letter from Hawaii stating that my car is not titled in Hawaii. I would not recommend GMAC/Ally for anyone in the military who will experience frequent moves for work. I have previously owned cars in multiple states and always received my title from the lender once paid in full.

First of all I had the misfortune of having my Corvette financed through this company. Ally is just one step of being above a predatory lending company. Your interest rate if you are late is placed daily each day past the due date. I remained with this company for two years and two months. I was never late with my payments because I had each month sent through Chase Bill Pay. Also because of their policy for late payments, I made sure this horrible company would not get more money. I was blessed to get my automobile refinanced through a Credit Union. I was so excited I forgot to discontinue the Bill Pay and a payment was sent to Ally Financial.
Ally has refused to acknowledge they received my payment of $777.00. After calling them for almost one week and demanding to speak to a supervisor; I was informed they have my money and will not refund it to me until 8/27/15. I sent the money to them by mistake on 8/12/2015. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint as well. I am so frustrated with ALLY. I bought my wife an Equinox one day and went through Ally. The next day I bought me a Z71 crew cab truck and went through the St employee credit union. The credit union was much easier and have not had any problems with them, but Ally is a pain. I have filled out paperwork to get automatic withdraw from my credit union checking account, and having put in the correct routing #, with my credit union banker checking out to make sure the # was correct. Yet they still don't do the withdraw. I got a letter saying our payment was overdue so I called. The woman on the other end kept cutting in when I was talking, and said someone had kept hanging up on them, which I never have. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she hung up on me. I never got a call from the supervisor, and ended up calling in the next day and paid it.
We then filled out paperwork again and faxed it into them. They kept wanting us to do it online, but I don't trust doing it that way. The next month I called and wanted to make sure that the payment was going to be drafted, and asked to speak to a supervisor right away. Well she was rude as well and kept cutting in when I was talking again (this must be the way they train them). I will never deal with ALLY again, and I’m so fed up I may not ever buy a Chevrolet again. I haven't checked to see if my credit score is affected, but if it has been I'm going to the State Attorney General's office and file a formal complaint against Ally. I have documented every talk with them.

We've dealt with Ally for two years and have had trouble with them the whole time. Recently, we needed our due date changed and initially the process sounded simple. One said I only needed to pay, the other said to keep waiting, it was ridiculous. I've finally fulfilled the requirements but I'm VERY skeptical about this ordeal ending.
Now to getting new registration. We moved and all we need is Ally to fax a letter of intent and the ELECTRONIC TITLE paperwork and it has been over a week and they haven't arrived yet at our DMV. Ally Reps say that I didn't say to send the E Title form when that has been the biggest obstacle! They said it'll take 4 days to fax it. In this day and age, that is ridiculous for a fax. And don't forget that they ask over and over if I have a fax machine. I'm fed up with them. Don't get a loan through them.

As the end of the lease neared I contacted Ally SmartLease to see if I could maybe get a better price for the residual price. The customer services rep. was very cold and unbending. This surprised me after seeing the commercial about how Ally put customers first on TV. "What **." I turned the SUV in 6/6/2014. ** and myself looked the SUV over. There were no external marks. Second, I waited millions of hours on the phone to speak with the total loss and gap claim department and was transferred back and forth several times before having my concerns resolved. After talking to them, and getting nowhere then their supervisor (?) and getting nowhere, I was able to finally get my bank to reverse the pymt and overdraft fee. I thought I was done. But NOOOOOOO!
Today I get an email from my bank stating I was overdrawn. WHY? Because ALLY came in and yet again took out a pymt. Next to the pymt on my bank acct were the initials RDP. My bank said they did not know what this meant, and ALLY tells me they don't know. Both times now they have told me that they, Ally, needs 10 days to process a refund by check only, then 3-5 days more to mail it to me. I cannot wait for that.

Well, the best thing about this bank is going away in August 2015. They offered free ATM usage throughout the US. If you used an ATM at any bank, grocery, gas station, c-store, etc., your fee would be reimbursed to you at month-end. Super convenient for traveling and day to day living by cash. They also had some other network where you could use certain local banks ATMs at no charge, without having to worry about fee reimbursement. There are 2 such banks within 5 minutes of me where I have always used their ATM for free. Well, no more of that!
Ally emailed customers notices today saying that starting 8/15/15, ATM fee reimbursement will be limited to $10 per statement cycle. So if I go somewhere that charges $3.50, after my 2nd ATM withdrawal in one month, I'll be paying my own ATM fees. Now, that might make sense for a brick-and-mortar bank, but for an online-only bank which HAS NO ATMs of its own, that's garbage. Their new 43,000-location Allpoint network is also garbage. If I wanted to park my car and go inside a CVS or specific grocery store (neither of which I ever, ever shop at) in order to use an ATM for free, then maybe I'd stick with Ally. Otherwise, I'm outta here.
Also: really, really super-frustrating, slow, and ignorant customer service. The people who answer the phone don't know anything. I don't mean that sarcastically. Ask them anything, and they have to put you on hold for a long time to find out the answer to your question. Who are they asking!? Why don't they know simple things? Then if you need more details, guess what? You'll be put on hold again while they check some information or find that out for you. It takes forever to get simple information out of them. All my calls to Ally have lasted five times as long as I thought they should have needed.

I paid that total in good faith even though I paid before the 15th of the month. This current month, I paid the bill on time, and again, the same statement was applied: I owe $256.56 even though I paid on time. They put on a late fee. They state that I will be paying this amount through the entire account until my car is paid off. I told them how wrong they were and this is illegal. They did just that and then on the 3rd of June they went into my bank account again (without permission) and tried to debit me again. They were unsuccessful but it left me with an NSF fee. Then they repeated this AGAIN 2 days later, ANOTHER NSF fee. No one has any answers as to why this happened. Then they come get my car! They took it with my children's car seats still inside. When I call to find out what the hell is going on their records show I've NEVER made a payment even though I have all the emails confirming they received payments along with confirmation numbers.
As of right now, I'm still without my car. And if I need to go somewhere I have to get a ride and a babysitter to come stay with the kids because I don't have extra car seats lying around. They're asking me to come up with money I've already paid! And of course, I have to pay the towing fees and late fees on payments that have already been made but their records conveniently don't show. No excuse for why this has happened or why they think they can keep dipping into my bank account without permission. Any time I call I get someone that barely speaks English and can't answer my questions because they're reading from a script. STAY AWAY FROM ALLY FINANCIAL.

I fell for the hype everyone was saying about Ally Bank. Their numbers on the website look great and their claims look amazing. I found out that their claims are as false as I suspected. Their customer service is not knowledgeable, they are immature and usually cannot answer any questions. They make Wells Fargo look like the best bank I've ever used. After a week of them "verifying" my identity, they ended up not being able to verify me. I doubt that they even tried because I've had bank accounts with several other banks. I am very disappointed with this bank. Their application is also a mess.

Background: My husband bought me a car and used Ally Bank as the financing company, so the auto loan and account are in his name. As all our family's accounts/bills are in his name, we didn't think anything of it at the time. I handle the bills for our family and had no problem setting up the online payment account.
Everything was fine until I locked myself out of the online payment account. I called the Customer Service line to make a payment by phone and find out that Ally does not accept payments by phone - they transfer you to a Western Union company that charges $30 to make a payment to Ally on your behalf. Either way, I need the online account unlocked. The first hurdle was understandable - my husband's name was the only one on the account, so they couldn't unlock the account without him calling. He called the next day, added me to the account, and verified that should I lock myself out again I would have no issue calling and having the account unlocked. They assured him everything was fine now that I was on the account.
Today, I once again locked myself out of the account. I called Ally Customer Service and was greeted warmly by a nice woman who spoke heavily accented English. She promptly informs me that although I am listed on the account, I am still unable to have account access unlocked because I am not my husband. I stated my husband had specifically been told I would be fine now that he put me on the account. Her response was that there must have been a misunderstanding on my husbands part. I asked what my husband had to do to grant me access to the online account information and was told there was NOTHING he could do unless he wanted to have the entire account transferred to my name. I asked what that entailed and was told the entire car loan would be recalled and I would have to submit to a full loan application process, which may or may not be approved.
When asked what would happen to my car should we do this, she said she wasn't sure. Obviously, that route won't work. I asked about submitting a Power of Attorney specifically stating I'm allowed access to the online account information. I was put on hold for a few minutes and told she'd spoken to her supervisor, who said that she wasn't allowed to give me an answer about a POA. When I asked why, she stated that it was something about "them" not being allowed to contact the legal department.
Bottom line - DO NOT USE ALLY FINANCIAL. I can't think of a single company that makes it so difficult to give them money or one that has such asinine security measures that a husband is "not allowed" to give his wife access to an account. This company cares nothing about its customers or, judging by the numerous negative reviews and customer complaints, its reputation. We will be paying off the car loan within the next few months, just to avoid having to deal with these people. I will never do business with this company again and strongly urge everyone to steer clear of Ally Auto, specifically, and Ally Financial for good measure.

I was assured that a better rate could be attained by applying for a personal loan and opening a new business account in his branch. He ran my credit (above 800) and came back with rate 12% on a 26k loan. I could do better on a credit card. When I asked what happen to the SBA loan he reported I had to borrow >150K to qualify!? It was a trade in to Bank of America. We are paying Ally every month for something that we can't use because we can't register it without title. Ally has done nothing to take care of this matter and now over a year later, with vacations coming up, we are going to lose our deposits that we put down last year and have to rent a RV which will cost us even more money. Don't expect to call anyone that can understand or speak English. They just read off of their monitors and tells you "okay" or whatever it is they think you want to hear but nothing is ever corrected. I always make an extra payment via Bill Pay through my bank. My bank sends Ally Auto a check on the 15th for them to receive by the 21st. When I didn't see my payment posted, I called Ally & they said they never received the payment. However, I have proof of the cleared check.
The customer service rep. tells me to fax them proof and tells me to give them 10 days to REFUND me via mail. I don't want a refund. I want my money applied correctly. Because I'm on a daily interest rate they want to refund me back the extra payment - NO THANK YOU. It took them 3 months to resolve this issue. I had to call every other week just to get different answers and explanations of where my money went.
This is just ONE issue. I've had so many issues with them applying payments incorrectly or NOT applying my payments. Honestly, I feel like they just apply whatever amounts they feel like. You should see my payment history. A lot of credit and debits from them trying to fix or doing whatever they're doing to my account. I bought out my auto lease from Ally Bank two weeks ago. The instructions I was give by the numerous customer service people I spoke to was inconsistent, unhelpful, annoying, and may affect my credit rating.
One example will suffice: at my request, the payout notice from Ally was faxed to my credit union. My credit union wanted an address to FedEx the check to and we called to have this address faxed or emailed to either myself or the bank as documentation that we were using the correct address. I was on the phone with my new lender and Ally when we asked for this address. The customer service rep and her supervisor told us repeatedly that they had no capacity to fax or email the address to us and said that they could only give us the address verbally. My lender thought this was not a very reliable method to document an address where 10s of thousand of dollars was going to be mailed. In addition, the customer service reps were very difficult to understand and hear despite repeated requests that they speak up or speak directly on the handset rather than a head set.
My banker has 25 years in the banking business. She commented that she has never had such an odd and unsatisfying experience with a finance company. I agree. We finally chose an address because it was on the payout notice fax heading, and Ally confirmed that this was "a correct address" so at least we had documentation that it was affiliated with Ally. It has now been 10 days since the check was mailed to the PO box. I called every day last week to see if Ally had record of receipt and they had not. The payout amount is no longer valid and on my online account it appears as if I am in arrears for the lease payment which is amply covered by the payout. Ally Bank auto finance should be shut down!

Documents included death certificates, social security numbers, notarized letters from other family members saying they had no interest in the vehicle. Documents were faxed numerous times due to the fact that when we got no response, they claimed they had not received documents or they couldn't read them, or they couldn't find them. We found that they were being offshored God knows where.
This is troubling, especially since they have not given us a simple letter we can present to get license tabs. They have now asked for the social security numbers of my children! Ally's agent said I would get my title and a refund for overpayment in 4 days. Four days later Ally's ** sends me a two-sentence letter that read, "This is to inform you that Ally does not hold the title to the above described vehicle." Leaving me wondering: Why? Where is my title? What about my refund? Ally confirmed my refund was sent to the wrong address, and DMV confirmed that Ally gave them the wrong address to send the title resulting in my original title being destroyed.
Seems to me that any reasonable person (or entity called "Customer Care") that got returned mail would do a little simple research, like check to see if it was sent to the same address the buyer gave on the original contract. I provided the correct address. Isn't it funny how all fourteen invoices get sent to the correct address? But my title and refund get sent to an address that is not on the contract? I should not have to wait in line at DMV and pay for a duplicate title for a new GMC. I want the original title, not a duplicate. I paid Ally in full. I provided the correct information on the contract. It is out of my control when Ally's people can't read an address on a simple contract that they prepared.

My wife and I purchased two vehicles over a year ago and both vehicles were financed by Ally Financial. In the first months we had minor issues with the company until one day I made a payment online (instead of paying an $8 fee for them to take my money) and instead of removing one payment from my account they removed two. Upon noticing this I contacted Ally and informed them of the mistake. I was not angry, instead I requested they keep one payment and return the other. They rudely informed me that they are "unable" to remove two payments without my authorization and that they are "unable" to refund my payment.
So I contacted my bank and put a stop payment on the transaction and my payments were returned which I then (very carefully) re-posted the payment to which they AGAIN removed two payments to which I AGAIN called and informed them of the mistake and was rudely informed that AGAIN they were "unable" to remove two payments without my authorization and AGAIN they were "unable" to refund my illegally withdrawn payment therefore I had to repeat the process with my bank.
Now, after all this nonsense my payment fell past due damaging my credit and allowing them to charge late fees. Upon being informed of this I was furious. I demanded to speak to several managers which proved useless. I asked where their South Carolina branch was located so that I may bring my bank statements and other paperwork to their attention to which I was informed they did not have a location in my area.
I refused to pay late fees and instead asked politely for these matters to be resolved to no avail. During this time my wife and I had a substantial tax check stolen putting us in a financial bind. I contacted Ally and informed them of my misfortunes to which they did not care. I informed them that I had police reports and also video surveillance of the responsible person cashing the check at the bank. Again, they did not care. However they informed me that they gave my wife and I an extension on payment. This I did not see. However they may have I'm not sure.
Several months went by with my wife and I struggling to hold on to our cars paying monthly and trying to catch up where we could. Ally constantly harasses us with phone calls all times of the day and night including Sundays looking for payments despite us repeating our story to more managers and debt collectors than I can count.
Eventually the stolen tax check was returned and I spoke to Ally about both cars getting the total past due amount to be Just under $2,000. We sent in the money and thought we finally solved the issue. We were WRONG! Several days after submitting an almost $2,000 dollar payment our account on both cars still showed us to be past due by large amounts. Once again furious I called Ally and demanded to know why I was still showing past due after submitting so much money to which I spoke with several people at Ally none helpful.
They tried to explain the situation to my wife and I but it was very confusing as both of our vehicles are of the same year, make, and model. It didn't make matters better that they had to keep jumping from account to account throwing numbers around, yet another reason I would rather go into a branch location and speak face to face with someone. Having just moved out and getting married and our own home we couldn't afford a lawyer and are still fighting to catch up and avoid repossession.

Not only does it require that your recipient become a member to collect funds, but the emails from Pop Money, notifying your recipient that funds are available, are routinely blocked as 'spam'.
Ally does answer the phone quickly, but many customer service reps are poorly trained and discussing more complicated questions requires supervisors or management that reply days later. In addition, deposits are held for days, even after establishing a sound relationship with Ally AND having many times the deposit amounts on the account balance. "Two to five days" is the typical response on most transaction requests. Is there something I don't understand or could there be something that is escaping me? Can somebody explain to me how this whole car payment system with Ally works please, looks like am throwing money away. I am tempted to seek a professional help to get this resolved but if I dare find something ugly, I will surely sue Ally for $10 million for fraud. I do hope to get some good explanation and answers before I lose my cool with this Ally crap.

2.5 years I paid my car note on time, the loan was from Ally Financial. Well I recently became late, almost 3 months I believe. So I made arrangements to pay what I owed & they insisted I had to pay the balance off. I spoke to them on a Friday & on that Sunday night I was in visiting family out of town, went to WalMart & they had towed my car while I was in there. Spoke with someone on that Monday to get things cleared & I was told that I had to pay the balance plus $375 for tow charges & my car would be paid off & released to me. Needless to say I moneygrammed them almost $7000. I've been waiting on my title & I hadn't received it so I called & the lady said they had me owing an additional $400 & that I would have to call back on Monday to speak with someone else.
First off if I owed anything else why would they send the release papers to the tow yard for me to pick up my truck? I am completely fed up with Ally, they are very unprofessional & I can't believe North Little Rock Nissan uses such terrible loan companies. Now the next vehicle I get, I'm going to research the loan company first before anything.

Ally Auto repoed my car that I refinanced through Chase bank and I have the paperwork proving so. They incorrectly took money and put it on the wrong account, my wife's. They paid her car off, but we never got the title and I have two liens on my car, I called with my bank to fix this in January. They said no problem. They lie. I have case numbers and POC from Chase. Then suffering from cancer they repoed my car. What sick people they are. I will go to court and sue them for this. Do not deal with these crooks and tell everyone you know.

My Grandfather purchased a 2011 GMC Sierra for $28,000 brand new in 2010 and financed through "Ally". He just passed away March 6, 2015 and was the only one listed on the account so I call thinking I'm doing the RIGHT legal thing by calling "Ally" letting them know he passed and that my father is going to be making the payments until we can pay it off. Well the "Customer Service Specialist" tells me that we have six days to mail in a death certificate, have my grandmother which is executor of the will to write a letter saying my father is going to take over the payments, send in a copy of my dad's driver's licenses and social to see if he qualifies to take over the account even though he's been paying since October 2014 when my grandfather became ill. And that if we don't pay in full and no one is approved, then they will come and seize the vehicle.
Now $17,000 has been paid on time since the truck was purchased and there is approx. $10,000.00 left and they aren't sympathetic at all. The bill will be paid like it has been but what they want to do is repossess the truck, sell it at auction and bill us for the remainder. They also deleted my grandfather's online account within 2 minutes where I can't access payment details for proof that the payments were on time. Oh also I'm not on the account but I can call and cancel it just by saying the account holder has passed?!? Without proof of a Death Certificate?!? Someone please let me know what my legal rights are and if "Ally" is taking my grieving family for a ride? STAY AWAY FROM ALLY FINANCIAL!!!

Got an auto loan with GMAC in Jan 2010 which changed over to Ally shortly after. I was ready to pay off the remaining balance of my loan, called them up, said “What's the best way to pay off my loan?” They said "Certify mail a cashier's check or just make your final amount online.” So I confirmed my home address with them was correct. Great, made sure address was correct on my profile as well and made final payment online. Received a letter in the mail congratulating me on paying off my loan and what a great freaking customer I am.
I called them up 2 months later since I never received my title. They said they shipped it on Jan 22nd and I will receive it any day now. I asked them what shipping method they used since that was 2 months ago. The guy from India says, "Oh well we shipped it to this address" (which was an outdate apartment address). What the heck??? Indian guy said he can't provide copies and that I'm basically SOL. I asked him why they would send me my title to an outdated mailing address. He didn't have an answer. Now I'm stuck fighting with the DMV trying to get a copy of my title. Thanks Ally, there will not be a next time.

We leased a Buick Enclave who used Ally Bank for financing for 3 years but as we were moving out of the country we had to advertise for a lease takeover. Ally Bank stalled each application and misinformed us on the process that we lost every application. They insist we pay the full term and hand in the car with the unused mileage. Their call centre in Philippines are useless and their leasing department and process is archaic. They even insisted applicants complete the 'office use only' sections. Ally Bank would not even accept email or scanned applications and insisted it got mailed which takes them 2 weeks to review.

I have auto payment from my bank and after 4 years I wanted to pay my loan off. I requested a pay off bill on March 2nd and never received it. I called back on March 9th to state that I never received the bill. I was told that it will be coming. I never received it by March 11th so I called back. I was told that they will send another bill with additional finance charges based on the additional days. They have all the information recorded that I made all the calls and refused to waive the additional finance charges. This is the last time that I do business with Ally. The purpose of this feedback is to alert anyone that is considering Ally.

I received a letter from Ally Bank addressed to my deceased husband because due to a report from ChexSystems, Inc. my husband was denied a checking account. (Still can figure out what credit has to do with a checking account that requires a deposit to open.) I called the bank's phone number and the first person I spoke with said that since it was addressed to my husband, they would have to talk with him. I had just said "He died four years ago." I replied, "That's going to be difficult" when she spoke along with me, "But he died." Duh! ChexSystems, Inc. phone number given to me from letter from Ally produced five ads before telling me the phone was no longer in service. I called the forwarding number and hear some more ads, but no response. I can find no one to handle this, when they know a fraud is being committed.
I will never use, or recommend, the use of a bank or credit reporting system that does not have four brick walls and personnel to handle their business. Now I have to watch repeatedly for my own accounts since my bank and others have a hard time removing a name from a file that is in dozens of department of the bank. Ally had an application number on my letter that they could open a file and read; the fraud department had that order number on file and agreed that the report said my husband had died. So what is with this? Informing me that his application was denied is ridiculous. The application itself should have been rejected. I'm not sure now whether it is the Ally or ChexSystems, Inc is responsible for this and I can only hope I've nipped the problem in the bud.

Here is the way the business model of Ally and any other large corporation works: They are interested in making money. That is all. If you become a problem in this money machine they will do anything to satisfy you. If you have a grievance with Ally sue them. If it is a small amount of money - say under $2000 - They will quickly settle. Because they know it costs more to fight the lawsuit with $300+ an hour attorneys than to settle. Here is how: Find the resident agent for Ally in your state. (This is the hardest part); Write a letter to the resident agent c/o Ally Financial; Wait for response. Sue the resident agent in small claims court if they don't reply. (They almost always do - Ally called me yesterday - March 10, 2015).
My Toyota Yaris was repossessed on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from the Vehicle Recovery Facility at 305 Metropolitan Grove Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. I filed a Show Cause Order in Action of Replevin suit against Ally's Baltimore resident agent on the same day. In December I paid all fees for the return of the vehicle. There was a signed legal agreement with Ally that Ally would apply the repossession fees to my account. Ally has charged me $180 more in "miscellaneous fees" in violation of our agreement. The Ally representative stated this was for the repossession.
When I took possession of my vehicle there was extensive body damage to the front hood, bumper and grille. I had an appraisal done at Zamora's Auto Body, 772 E Gude Drive, Rockville MD 20850. The auto body mechanic indicated that the damage was clearly from towing damage. Zamora's estimates the cost to repair my vehicle is $1251.55.
