Stubhub's system of fees are so needlessly complicated that it is quite easy as a first time seller to be duped as to how much you will actually receive for your tickets. For example, they have your ticket price - $100. They have the price the buyer sees - $110. Then they take 15% commission from your ticket price when your tickets sell, i.e., in this case $15. So from the list price of $115 on the Stubhub website, you as a seller are giving up $25 or approximately 23% to Stubhub. Now they may say that in fact the buyer is paying the $10 over $110 and the seller is only paying the 15% fee. However, since the buyers only see the all-in ticket price, you as a seller are really the one who loses out. Confused? So am I. I couldn't recommend Stubhub less.

We are not members of StubHub and have never used their services. Since early September our landline has received over 50 calls from StubHub regarding ticket transactions. Our phone number has been used as a call back number for over 50 transactions and counting. This could be part of a scam or fraudulent purchases or a systems error. Our numerous calls to complain and have the problem rectified has been met with the same empty promises. "Our safety and trust team is handling this and they will call you." It isn't handled and of course no calls from the team, if it even exists. Something's not right with their system - be aware.

I immediately notified them by their Chat Now button, you know the Fan Guarantee says let us know if you didn't get the right tickets. They are still telling me today that I owe them $11,460 for ten tickets I bought at $159.30. I WOULD NEVER USE STUBHUB AGAIN. BE CAREFUL! I'M GONNA HAVE TO GO TO COURT WITH THEM.

WARNING SELLERS!!! CHECK YOUR STUBHUB INVENTORY EVERYDAY EVEN THOUGH YOU PAY STUBHUB TO DO THAT JOB FOR YOU. Stubhub Rule: Completing your sales. As soon as your tickets sell, we'll send you an email with a deadline to complete your sale. The deadline to complete your sale is based on whether you told us your tickets were in hand or not - and if not, the date you identified as your In-Hand Date. To get paid more quickly, complete your sale as soon as possible.

Stub Hub has failed to provide excellent customer service. On the day of the concert, I sold my tickets to a friend. Since I did not receive a notification of sold tickets from Stubhub in my AOL account (which includes my spam folder) and Stubhub account, I felt confident giving these tickets away. When my friend attended the concert, the venue associate stamped VOID on the printouts. He was mad!! I called the local police dept. and filed a report thinking my account was somehow compromised. The day after the concert I received an email from Paypal stating Stubhub put money in my Paypal account. So that was my notification???? The day after the concert and it wasn't even the usual email in the subject space Sold Tickets?????

After all that, I arranged an online chat with a Stubhub Representative. She was kind and apologized for the error BUT shifted the blame on me by saying that I shouldn't have given the tickets to my friend. Wow what kind of customer service do they have over there???? Stubhub made a mistake and FAILED to email me regarding Tickets Sold. I have no information of Tickets Sold in my Stubhub and AOL account (including my spam folder).

I sell tickets on Stubhub from time to time and have NEVER encountered this problem UNTIL NOW. I even went on Twitter and the Stubhub representative didn't even apologize for the Stubhub MISTAKE. Poor customer service. PERIOD. I was even told by the Stubhub rep that I am suppose to check my inventory every day!! So what do the ticket sellers pay Stubhub for? NOT DOING THEIR JOB ACCURATELY???

After following the steps to upload my tickets into a .pdf format and following the onscreen instructions, when the buyer bought my tickets I found out that the actual tickets could not be scanned and loaded into stubhub. I had the actual tickets and would have been happy to mail them to the end buyer. The game was 16 days away so we had plenty of time. Without talking to me, StubHub charged me $70 due to the mistake. I wanted to work with them and find a way to re-list the tickets so we could all make money, but I was told the only thing they could do would send me a dispute form.

I asked if they would remove the charge while under dispute and they said "No". They are living behind a policy and can't have an adult conversation to talk about an honest mistake. They would rather "make" $70 off of me for this once and last time since I have closed my account, instead of working together and finding out a way to make this work for all of us for the long term. Sigh, Zappos would be sad. I liked using stub hub and I will miss using that as an option going forward, but I don't know what else to do.

I was looking to buy tickets for a concert at Wembley, UK. The cheapest tickets on StubHub were well over double face value, some three or four times. All other major ticket suppliers had sold out of decent tickets, yet there were hundreds on sale at StubHub. However I searched elsewhere and managed to find a less well known but seemingly reputable company who still had a few good tickets left at face value. Obviously I bought those. In short, StubHub is simply a ticket tout who has cornered the market in this area. I can't believe there are people who find this acceptable. They are complete rip off merchants who are pretending to be providing a service for fans. This is a disgrace and I would urge everyone to avoid buying from StubHub and other sharks like them. To buy from them simply makes it more difficult for us all in the long run.

I have used Stub Hub many times in the past and never wanted to cancel an order but on 09/21/2014 I ordered 2 tickets to an NFL game with a Parking Pass total cost $982.26 and on 09/22/2014 less than 24 hours later decided I did not want to go. Here is where the problem lies. I first went into the chat room at 3 am was explained there was nothing they could do but help me resell the tickets. Obviously that's not what I wanted so I called three times spoke to their "Resolution Dept" and time after time was told the same story and in addition I was not allowed to speak to someone higher up. Here is a copy of part of their policy word for word:

"We understand things happen. If you ordered the wrong tickets, can no longer make it to the event, (or just changed your mind,) there are a few things you can try: (NOTE: IT SAYS "JUST CHANGE YOUR MIND") 1.Sell your tickets on StubHub. It's easy and on top of getting your money back, you might also make another fan's day! To relist your tickets, go to the 'Orders' section of My Account, find the tickets you want to sell and click the 'Relist tickets' link next to the tickets to get started. If you get stuck, check out our selling tickets tutorial. 2.Contact us and we'll see what we can do to help. For faster service, have your order number handy. You may also be asked to return the original tickets to us, so keep them in a safe place. You will find this under their Customer Support area Topics and click on All Topics. "

It seems #2 doesn't exist and the representatives/company refuses to help in any way except to help you relist your tickets. Very disappointed.

This company is another classic example of getting so big and making so much money that "they don't need the business", and forget about the little things and treating their loyal customers with respect TO KEEP THEIR BUSINESS.

In the last year, I spent over $2500 with them. For a recent show (that I spent over $900 on tix) the clients backed out. Right in my account was a button they happily provide exclaiming, "Sell Your Tickets." I went through the process, which was quick and easy and gave me no reason to be concerned. WELL, when the tix sold, I wasn't able to upload the tix to their site because they were e-tix that the crook sent me in the mail... I didn't know this was a problem! Well, stub hub insisted they cancel the transactions and I would be charged. When I showed frustration (and an hour of my time) on their internet "chat" they said, "We understand! Please fill out a dispute and we'll get it resolved!" Multiple hours later and paperwork and scanning forms, they refunded half of my money and Ashley SMUGLY explained, "This issue is resolved and there will be no further action... Sorry!"

Can you believe that a company would lose a $2500 per year customer for the $50 I wanted refunded?? ? This company will be class-action sued and out of business in the future, no doubt! Penny sound, pound foolish!

I had put my tickets on StubHub and the tickets were sold quickly. The date came and went for when the concert happened (which was on a Saturday). The following Tuesday, StubHub wrote me saying the people who bought my tickets weren't allowed past the check-in point. First odd thing that struck me was, what proof did they get from the ticket holders that they weren't allowed in besides word of mouth and second why was I told three days later and not immediately. Then they wanted me to give the original amount back, PLUS estimated $50.00 back in return fees and fees to keep the ticket holders happy. They wanted me to call up Ticketmaster and get some scanner report to see if they actually went through (long story short and many different answers later from Ticketmaster, I couldn't get scan report anyways because I had changed my credit card). Long story short, StubHub is just a scam.

I purchased 4 tickets to a concert through Stubhub. The concert was 300 miles away and was on a weeknight. When we arrived at the venue and presented our tickets for entry, the ticket scanner said our tickets had already been used, thus we weren't allowed entry to the concert. I phoned Stubhub customer service and was placed on hold numerous times. The agent said they were trying to get replacement tickets for us but after about 45 minutes they said it wasn't possible. They offered a refund but this does not cover the expenses of two hotel rooms, taking a day off work for 4 of us, gas for the 600-mile round trip drive, road tolls (Illinois), plus the hassle and waste of time in the whole deal.

Stubhub also offered me a $600 credit which expires in 1 year. Why should I take the chance of this happening to me again, especially considering that I usually have to travel at least 250 miles to attend the concerts I want to see? Thus a denied entry is much more expensive for me. Also, I prefer to buy my tickets from Ticketmaster and have never had the problem with them. I've only used Stubhub for a 'sold out' concert. How many 'sold out' concerts will I want to attend in the next year? And why would I want to overpay for a non-sold out concert on Stubhub, versus paying face value on Ticketmaster? All I want from Stubhub is a check for $600. This will make me satisfied, not a $600 credit that I won't use in 1 year.

I had an extra pair of tickets that I ended up selling on StubHub to Dave Chappelle's show at Radio City Music Hall on June 25th. They were sold very quickly, but to my surprise two days after the event, I received a notification stating that the tickets were being claimed as 'invalid' by the buyer. Very frustrating as StubHub's version of the tickets was the only one that ever existed (aside from on my computer which were never printed) and I saw the buyers that evening as I attended the show.

If that wasn't bad enough, I was sent on a fool's errand to prove myself as a seller by being asked for ticket verification from Radio City that they, as a strict policy, never release unless legally compelled to do so. Essentially, I was asked to provide something that was impossible to achieve to recoup my $300+ for tickets that I could've easily sold elsewhere. I've never had problems with them before, but seller beware if anyone "cries wolf" about their tickets being invalid due to a bad experience at a show. You'll have to jump through hoops to get your money back.

StubHub then charged me 2x what the tickets were row in cancellation fees. $370!

I contacted them and they shrugged me off because policy states you have 24 hours to upload the tickets. The seats next to mine are on sale for only $180 so StubHub clearly is making a profit. So angry that I am now losing at least $200 when I sell these tickets now. The buyer was never in danger of getting to the concert - it's over 2 weeks away! I bought my replacement tickets last week and they still haven't arrived - double standards? With Live Nation and AEG owning most of the venues and controlling the primary AND secondary ticket sales, it is almost impossible to buy tickets at face value. Case in point: I was online and submitted a ticket order with AXS in the first 30 seconds of them going on sale today, and was told the show was already sold out. But one minute later, StubHub, which has an affiliation with AXS to be the exclusive secondary seller for AEG owned venues, (AEG owns AXS) had hundreds of tickets already available for sale at 3-5 times the face value. I would like to file a formal complaint against the seller of these tickets. I was scammed. It was probably my own fault for not doing more research or reading the "fine print" somewhere, but I paid $100 each for tickets that I thought were seats because they contained a section number and seat number. Ends up they were simply general admission tickets with no seat. I could have walked up and paid $10 for what I got which was entry to the venue. I did not realize that I did not have a seat until I was in the venue. I spent several hundred dollars to travel to NY, rent a hotel room and buy these tickets to see a horse race to get to the venue and not even have a seat.

In the end I was sardined in a standing room only space and did not see one horse (only the back of peoples heads). I feel scammed, even if in the end it was my fault, I will never buy tickets second hand again. It was confusing and I spoke to a great number of people that had the same experience so something is wrong somewhere. Thanks for allowing me to file this complaint.

I was out of town and began to use the mobile version of StubHub. As I lowered the price, I noticed next time I logged in they were listed higher, this went on for 2 days before the game. There is no way I would raise my price and lower and raise it, there were 9 iterations of this.... On game day, I stopped using the mobile version and used the desktop version of StubHub.

I listed the tickets well below any similar ticket in my level. But it was too late, the game was that day and my tickets did not sell. This is evidenced by the price history I received from StubHub support. After chat, phone call and email, StubHub told me 'don't use the mobile app., it has problems'. That advice came too late and cost me $150, the value of my tickets which did not sell. StubHub sellers beware, hackers own the mobile app.

I have recently posted and sold tickets on StubHub. My complaint is the way they present the fees that StubHub takes from the ticket sales. Rather than simply state that the ticket will sell for $100 and you will receive $70 they present the sale as if they are trading stocks. They sell your ticket for a price that is 11% higher than what you receive. They consider that difference the buyer’s fee, and they also charge you a seller’s fee of 15%, there by taking a total of 30%. There is absolutely no reason to present the sale in this way other than to try and disguise the total fee from the consumer.

StubHub tries to rationalize this two tier fee by breaking up the ticket price into the “seller’s price” and price that the “buyer sees”, trying to indicate that the seller is not selling for the price that the buyer sees. However the seller owns the only commodity in this transaction and if the ticket is priced too high it will not sell, so the only price that matters is the price that the buyers sees. If I sell my ticket on StubHub for $100 dollars meaning that the buyer pays $100 and I receive $70 from StubHub then StubHub took 30% from me, not 11% from the buyer and then 15% from the seller. If StubHub wanted to buy my ticket and then resell it, thereby taking some of the risk, then they can honestly charge the buyer a fee.

If StubHub wants to list my ticket for $100 and actually charge the buyer $110, then StubHub can say they are charging the buyer a commission. But StubHub cannot list my ticket for $100, sell my ticket for $100, give me $70 and tell me that the buyer paid an 11% commission. In this scenario StubHub has sold my ticket and charged me a 30% commission and they should advertise that fact up front!!

They didn't apologize, and instead they offered me worse seats for the same price. I checked their website, and I saw that they had comparable tickets still available, but they were charging significantly more for them. I responded that I wanted seats that were comparable to what I paid for. They ignored my request, and said that I could either have the worse seats or cancel my order and receive a refund. Again, absolutely no apologies.

I wish I could have cancelled my order, but I really want to attend this concert, and all the comparable tickets are now going for significantly more than what I paid originally. I'm sure Stubhub knew this, so they couldn't care less if I cancelled my order. What terrible business practices! I feel like they are the lowest level of scum that make a living off of exploiting fans. What makes me even sicker is that the musicians aren't receiving any of the ridiculous ticket price markups.

They were also told that this happens every game - STUBHUB purchases all the youth seats at the BellCentre at a low cost of $21 and sells them online for mass profit. STUBHUB does a poor job of highlighting that these are YOUTH seats.

When purchasing on an iPhone, you can barely see anything except the event, price and CONFIRM PURCHASE BUTTON, which are all in large print. Why do they not highlight that these tickets are for youth? Before completing a purchase - there should be a warning (like they do when you purchase seats with an obstructed view, etc.). The representative at the Bell Centre told my son that they have contacted STUBHUB and advised them to stop selling these tickets or do a better job of informing the customer as they incur issues every game. STUBHUB doesn't care - why should they, they made $91 profit on each ticket.

This what I got from Stubhub regarding parking passes that I had purchased months ago. "We are contacting you regarding your recent PARKING PASSES ONLY George Strait Concert. Your seller recently informed us that these tickets were listed incorrectly and they are unable to fulfill the order. The tickets were listed below market value at $ 60 when comparable seating is well over $350."

This is totally wrong for Stubhub to allow the seller to pull this at the last minute. I called their customer service dept. and was told they they would give me a credit of $70 and credit my credit card for the original amount of the passes. She said I would not be out any money whatsoever. She then puts me in touch with their sales dept. and the rep tells me that the passes were $350. Unbelievable!! I have used their service many times (as well as their sister e-commerce affiliation known as E-Bay) and will never, ever use them again. I even wrote the CEO Chris Tsakaklis (sp) and expressed my displeasure and as you would guess, customer service isn't his strong suit, either based on his inability to respond back.

My husband and I bought tickets from Stubhub for our teenage girls back in November as a surprise for the HAIM concert this Thursday 05/08/2014 at the 930 Club in Washington DC. We did this because the 930 Club sold out so quickly. They have been so excited, and have been counting down the days. The tickets are supposed to arrive 2-3 days before the concert date. When we hadn't received them yesterday, we decided to call Stubhub, only to find out that the seller hadn't sent them and have been unable to be contacted. Stubhub told us they would try to get tickets for us and would contact us today. We got the call a few hours ago, informing us that they were unable to obtain tickets elsewhere, but they would give us a refund. We can't believe this has happened. We haven't had the heart to tell our girls yet. They are going to be so upset and disappointed. This is the first time we have used Stubhub and it will definitely be the last!

My complaint about Stubhub is that they are greedy. It's disgusting how they can buy thousands of tickets from the Beyonce & Jay-z tour (which was presale) and have a nerve to triple the price on their website. I tried to get tickets on Ticketmaster and they sold out so fast because of Stubhub. I will be damned if I pay over $600 for a ticket that was just $167. Ticketmaster should ban Stubhub from buying tickets on the presale days. It makes it unfair to the fans who really wanted to see the artist, but aren't able to pay their ridiculous prices. I am beyond pissed.

When I tried to quickly readjust to the correct sale price, the website froze not letting me back on to put my sale back to $260.00. Stubhub did repay and cancelled the order but I am liable to pay the difference in the sale of tickets which are to replace those cancelled tickets. My theory is once I accidentally put that reduced sale, Stubhub took the opportunity to grab them before I could get back to correct that quite obvious mistake.

For a company such as stubhub which boasts "It's simple: We back every order so you can buy and sell tickets with 100% confidence" this could not be further from the truth from what I found out one fateful evening.

I purchased 4 tickets for a band in concert that I had been looking forward to seeing for years. When we arrived at Barclays center just before showtime we were denied entry only to be told the tickets were already scanned to someone else. How can this happen? They were apparently sold twice. I called Stubhub customer service and after being put on hold several times, 20 minutes later the supervisor said if we purchased new tickets we would be "refunded and credited for the new tickets" since they (Stubhub) did not have any others to sell. At that point the box office at Barclays Center said they didn't have any extra tickets to sell. They had to get their manager who somehow miraculously saved the day and found 4 extra tickets they were holding to sell. The manager at Barclays Center also said "this happens every night" and "not to buy from Stubhub". Also the people next to us on line were having the same problem.

After missing a third of the concert I had been looking forward to seeing and getting worse seats than we had originally purchased. I pursued my refund through Stubhub. It turns out they were only willing to refund me the original ticket price I paid, but offered only a credit through Stubhub for the new tickets I had to buy that evening. When they said "credit" to my account over the phone I assumed they meant to my credit card, not to some stubhub account. I spoke with another supervisor today who said under their policy they are not even obligated to offer a credit to my account and I was denied a refund to my credit card. They also claim this is extremely rare. Well, the manager of Barclays Center disagreed with that statement and we observed this for ourselves with another couple standing next to us experiencing the same frustration. If Stubhub had decent customer service and satisfaction guarantee, they would have issued a full refund to my credit card for all of the expenses AND offered something additional for the stress it caused and to make me want to come back. Buyers beware of Stubhub, everyone should know they are at risk of buying invalid seats and not having it resolved properly.

Last year I found a great deal on 4 hockey tickets and made the purchase for $20 each. 3 days later Stubhub called me and said the seller couldn't fill the order and my order was cancelled. I pointed out to them that their policy states that a seller can only back out within 48 hours, and if not he is responsible for finding replacement tickets. These were center ice tickets but Stubhub offered nosebleeds as replacements which I refused. I showed them seats on their own site that would be comparable, even a little worse, that I was willing to accept. They refused because replacement tickets "were too expensive". What?? How is that my problem?? I told them the seller is on the hook, and what's more this guy was obviously a season ticket holder because he had all the other games listed in the exact same seats. He just didn't want to sell me the tickets at that price after getting cold feet. I asked Stubhub to make him fill the order or buy me replacements, and they did nothing.

The bottom line: Stubhub CHANGES THE RULES on a daily basis whenever it's convenient for them. I'm sure this has happened to a lot of people. I bet there's enough out there for a class action lawsuit.

I've been a die-hard fan of Lady Gaga since the beginning of her career and when I found out that she would be closing down the iconic Roseland Ballroom I just had to go. Ticketmaster sold out literally within seconds leaving me to turn to Stubhub. I was a little skeptical, but I decided to give it a try and so I did. I bought an (overpriced) ticket in November 2013. I received a confirmation email immediately also with their Fan Protect Guarantee, which basically guarantees you that you'll get your tickets no matter what (Or else a full refund).

Honestly, the only things that are really worth complaining about are the prices of the tickets (In case you didn't already know, Stubhub sellers charge almost double than what Ticketmaster charges) and the fact that you usually have to wait until at least a week before your event before you receive your ticket(s). I was notified on March 23rd that my seller had gotten my ticket and was shipping it out immediately, as he had a lot of contact with Stubhub about it. I was getting worried because it was getting closer and closer to the event and I still had no ticket, but whenever I called Stubhub (Yes, they DO have a customer service number), the people I spoke to were incredibly nice and helpful. They provided me my shipping confirmation, my estimated shipping date and gave me my tracking number assuring me that my ticket was safe and on its way.

I just checked UPS' website to track the package and it is indeed on its way right now as I type this and will be delivered tomorrow. I don't know why everyone's having problems with this company. This was my first time and I am so far, satisfied. I'd use them again.

I usually buy them from ticket master and I wanted to try something new. I found stubhub.com and searched their guarantee and liked it. I went to YouTube, liked a couple videos, so I said ok I'll try it. I was so happy and excited to surprise her but today is 2/28, I ordered the tickets 2/22. I understand it was a Sat. I saw on Monday I was charged and all and I saw that it was going to leave. I kept checking UPS, so you might say why am I unhappy. Well when I was ordering I didn't see and I paid 19.99 for UPS 2 day air. At first was angry but then I said way better I pay for a two day delivery and I'll get it Wednesday since it was shipped in Monday. So UPS says Us 02/24/2014, 2:37 am, order processed ready for UPS then says Dallas, TX, US 02/24/2014 7:00 P.M. Pickup Scan then it says Dallas, TX, US 02/28/2014 12:09 A.M. Departure Scan, then 02/28/2014 12:39 A.M. Arrival Scan then it goes on to other one.

Ok so here is why I am mad, maybe I'm not understanding, I ordered my ticket 02 22 2014. It doesn't get processed till 02 24 2014 and it does get shipped but it doesn't get there till 02 28 2014. I just don't understand. I paid 19.99 to get it shipped in 2 days but I still don't have it. I understand that I still have 3 days before the event but this is a birthday present so if I paid to get my order here quicker why haven't I got it when I paid $19.99. I don't know how I'm going to tell my girlfriend "hey I got your tickets as a surprise" but I can't show it to her so I still haven't. I don't know what I am going to do. I tried stubhub.com because the reviews said it was so good and here I still don't have it. I don't know if I am ever going to use stubhub.com again.

The tickets were delivered to her without a hitch but on Friday, Feb 21st, 2 days before the race I get a call those tickets are invalid. I talked to several customer service people and on Sat morning spoke with a person who said replacement tickets had been found. This was after another set of tickets never arrived as they said the seller sent in a file they couldn't download them. (MMMMM sounds familiar from a couple of other complaints) So the third set of tickets were emailed to my daughter and she was able to print them. Next time they called me I was told refund for first set of tickets would be credited to my charge card.

When I checked my email at 3:30 Sunday, the day of the race I have an email that says the new tickets are invalid. I sent a text to my daughter and asked if they got into the race. She said after a bit of a hassle at the gate the tickets were accepted. By that time the race had started and in a short time got postponed due to severe weather. She and my granddaughter tried to wait out a restart but by 6:30 pm, drenched to the skin, they went home. I sent email response yesterday to this person and demanded to know what kind of business they run. Why say tickets are invalid if they did get ok'd at the gate. In response to the email I sent yesterday I am being told they tried to call me Sat night. No way did anyone call me. I have my phone next to me at all times and if they tried to call I would have had a missed call alert.

At this time I am looking at my StubHub account and so far no refund for first invalid tickets and I've been charged for the second set also. OH and yes they offered me the $20 off my next purchase. Are they kidding...next purchase?????? I am going to check with my credit card company and at least try to protest or stop the charge for the new set of tickets. Worst part is my daughter and granddaughter got to see about 45 minutes of the race they had looked forward to for over 2 months. I am not saying StubHub responsible for the weather but I have been so angry at this company that I feel like I was in that severe weather.

When my sister and I tried to get into the venue with the tickets, they told us that someone already used my tickets. The Staples box office explained that I would need to talk to StubHub because it looks like someone stole my tickets and sold them online. I went to StubHub and they asked if I posted my tickets on any social media sites. I explained that I tried to sell my tickets on Craigslist for face value, but did not post any pictures of the tickets. However, I did remember someone from Craigslist who was interested in buying the tickets and asked for a picture to prove they were real tickets.

I've sold tickets on Craiglist before and this was a standard request that I was used to getting so I didn't think anything of it when I sent the guy the picture. StubHub explained that all sellers need to sell tickets on their website is the bar code. My sister chimed in and asked "So sellers don't need the real tickets to sell on your website?" And they "No." How ridiculous is that?!? It's as if StubHub wants to promote stealing and makes it so easy for scammers to do so! I take full accountability for showing the bar code in the picture of the tickets and I will be kicking myself forever for being so naive, but I had no idea that all it took for someone to steal your tickets is to see the bar code. But what upset me most was the guys helping me at StubHub kept saying that this happens all the time.

If it happens all the time, why isn't StubHub changing their policy to protect the consumers??? They said that this is out of StubHub's scope and I should file a police report. What is the point of filing a police report? How are the police going to find out who sold my tickets on Stubhub when the website doesn't even allow you to see past sales???

Fortunately, I had the receipt with my tickets proving I was the original owner of the tickets and StubHub provided us with new seats. I was disheartened to see that the new seats had limited view of Beyonce and her stage and that the cost of the seats were lower than what I initially paid. I definitely have learned my lesson, but I will never EVER buy tickets from StubHub and I'm hoping this post will help others to see how in the end, it's StubHub that is really scamming the consumers. This also happened to us at the Bruno Mars Las Vegas concert and caused a big problem. (We live in San Diego and came to Vegas to see the show).

StubHub was very nice, gave me my money back and a credit towards future tickets. So I booked the Will Ferrell show in San Diego. Got to the door, they scanned the tickets. They didn't let us in because the tickets were invalid and were cancelled by the original purchaser after he bought them. Again, StubHub gave me my money back and a credit. I paid for the tickets because I wanted to see the show. It is all very well and good to have credits towards future shows, but what's the point if we get the tickets and then can't get into the show? It’s not just about the money. It's the time and inconvenience. It is time consuming to go to the show, be turned away from the show you are looking forward to, deal with StubHub, wait for the refund, etc....

The prices for tickets on this site are ridiculous. £197 per ticket to see Alter Bridge at Wembley. They are nothing more than scalpers. Just another way of touts buying up tickets on release and then selling them through this site. They sell it as a 'fan' to 'fan' ticket site. What a crock of **. There should be a limit on the % mark up tickets can be resold for.

    Paul,

Thanks for taking the time to post this and we certainly appreciate your passion towards this topic. Anyone selling tickets through our marketplace is free to list the tickets for whatever price they wish. However, as with any marketplace, it is within the sellers best interest to list the tickets for whatever market-value dictates. Since it is a live website and marketplace, prices can change at any time. To make sure that buyers get the best value possible, we offer our Price Alert feature (http://www.stubhub.com/price-alerts/ for more info). You can set a Price Alert and we'll notify you when sellers have tickets for sale within your price range. I purchased 2 tickets to a concert from Stubhub 3 months ago. The tickets were to be delivered to me October 1st, 2013 - I had not received a tracking number or any other communication from Stubhub, only the confirmation of the order and the credit card had been charged. I entered a live chat and was assured that I was covered by their guarantee to get my money. I didn't care about the money - I wanted the tickets. They were purchased as a gift. After not hearing from Stubhub I called their customer support to be told that there were no tickets and that would issue me a refund. Unbelievable - what a sham!

Have to give a little credit to StubHub, specifically Nick R., for acknowledging my concerns and taking care of what he could. StubHub needs greater clarification on the e-mails that they send regarding Last Minute Sales (LMS) and how clients should specifically handle tickets they are submitting for such services.

I firmly believe that I have lost $1200.00 out-of-pocket cost on tickets sales because of poor communication and multiple "promises" by employees that are directed to pacify irate customers instead of truly taking care of the issues. The day of the show IS NOT the time to suddenly "find the tickets you sent" and repost them! For this I will NEVER use this company to either sell or purchase tickets.

    Original Review: Aug. 28, 2013

I had over 20 plus tickets listed for DMB at the gorge this Labor Day weekend. Was informed by StubHub to send them to their "LMS" service, which I did on Monday - overnight via USPS and THEY STILL HAVE NOT BEEN DELIVERED. So the sales I had that normally I would have shipped UPS are not getting to the buyers in time so StubHub will have to "replace the tickets" and I receive no money for the sale. But StubHub keeps the money, and my other 20 tickets are also gone. So in all over $2000 lost. StubHub is a scam!

I just got ripped off by Stubhub. I had extra tickets to Justin Beiber concert. I sold them on Stubhub for $35. I paid $70. I got the tickets from Ticketmaster through fan club pre-sale. I sent the tickets to Stubhub for the last minute ticket sales. A month after the concert, Stubhub emailed me and said the person who bought the tickets could not get into the concert and I have to refund the money and a gift card.

I sent the receipt from Ticketmaster with my purchase to show the valid tickets and that I sent the actual tickets to Stubhub before the show. They don't care. Scammers on the street are buying the tickets going into the show with the girls they sell them too and then bringing the tickets back out and selling them again with the Stubhub info. They do this at the last minute ticket sites. Stubhub doesn't care about the scam. Don't ever use this site to sell tickets.

It is now August 23, 2013, and we still have not received the majority of the money owed us. For some obtuse reason, three checks were supposedly drawn. One for $20 that was to be a "courtesy" since we've waited for so long, one for $210, and the third for $300. We have received the first two, but the third check is "missing." AND, we've had to make phone call after phone call to get the first two checks delivered. Promises were made that the checks were "in processing," they "were being drawn," they were being sent. All with an almost week's wait from phone call to phone call and promise to promise. This is ridiculous! I will never use Stubhub again, and I will never recommend this service to anyone. I recently sold my Robbie Williams tickets, Wembley, July 2nd, 2013. Buyers, please be aware that your mobile number will be printed on the address label that sellers will use to send your tickets via UPS for the whole world to see. The printed label I used and tried to post with UPS wouldn't be accepted by my local outlet as he couldn't scan my parcel. I decided to spend extra GBP6.40 to send special Delivery 1st class so the buyer would receive her tickets in time. I used her mobile number to text her of my situation out of courtesy and she repaid me by complaining to StubHub that I, being the 3rd party, had contacted her (which is against their terms???) so they then sent me a threatening email pointing out in their terms and conditions 44.1 that I shouldn't have done so. But they didn't point out to the buyer that I could only contact her because as I said earlier StubHub prints buyer's phone numbers on the delivery slip for all to see.

Moving on, it's now 10 working days after the event and still these total tossers haven't paid me yet so after waiting nearly 25 min. to get through to customer service, I was informed, "Oh, as you had sent via Royal Mail and not UPS," this was why I hadn't been paid even though they knew all the way through the process that I had done this. Please be aware this company is a joke, everything about them. Use at your own cost!!!!

I had to use UPS for delivery which, for me in the UK, is a 50-mile round trip. I posted tickets by UPS. Now they are saying there is no record of postage. Also, they are saying if the person says they couldn't use the tickets, I will not be paid - it is their word against mine.

These were genuine Rolling Stones tickets. Also, StubHub took a £50 charge, which is excess for the amount I have sold them for - had I sold direct on eBay, the person would have had the tickets 2 days ago and I would have been paid 3 days ago. I am very worried that I am not going to be paid at all. I will not be using this service again.

I bought two tickets to the Selena Gomez show this past Saturday. Nowhere listed on StubHub's site was it a paperless show. I received my tickets right away and they looked completely fake! It looks like this seller just had a template of a TicketFast ticket and just typed in that concert/seats these were (no one at StubHub had any clue of what I was talking about on this - a template? I'm not sure what you are talking about). They had an order number stated on the tickets. I called Ticketmaster, and they told me that it's not a valid order number. They also told me that I wouldn't get into the venue because the sections that I bought were in the paperless ticket area. At the same time, I ordered two new tickets through Ticketmaster.

I called StubHub and said I would like to return them because I wouldn't be allowed into the show (I've been to previous paperless ticket shows so I know how they work). They told me that they had to speak to their case manager and would get back to be within 24 to 72 hours. Two days later, I got a call saying that the tickets were valid and that they have dealt with this seller many times in the past. I should have nothing to worry about. It's still sketchy to me though.

Since then, I've called Ticketmaster twice, got the same answer from them saying I wouldn't be able to get into the show with the tickets from StubHub because I would need a credit card (NOT the paper ticket). I've spoken to StubHub twice and keep getting the same answer – “Ticket is valid, have nothing to worry about and that I'm protected with the fan guarantee.” I honestly don’t care that I'm protected with them. I have two sets of tickets. I also don't feel comfortable enough reselling them if I don’t believe they are real.

What I also don’t understand - My new seats are one section over from the ones I purchased from StubHub. I got an email from Ticketmaster saying that this is a credit card entry only. Now, why would my new seats be only credit card entry and StubHub's have paper tickets when they are one section over from each other? I'm calling my credit card company to get a refund because this is ridiculous.

A friend and colleague of mine asked me where he could get front-row Rush tickets for the July 4th show at Summerfest in Milwaukee. I started with the connections that I had and I was finding that decent up-front tickets were coming back just under $1,000 (for row BBB -- second row). I told him to check Stub Hub, but said to beware that they charge pretty high fees for you to buy the tickets, and the seller to sell the tickets.

He found two tickets in Row BBB for $579/each (plus service charges). These seemed to be a good price compared to the other tickets that were available in the same front five rows. This seemed a bit suspect to both of us, but just thought maybe someone just wants to get their tickets sold and is offering a much more competitive price than others. When he received the tickets, they were paper tickets, which raised our level of suspicion even higher. We did a Google search on the name of the women on the tickets and came up empty on any kind of info.

This week, my friend received a call from Stub Hub telling him that his tickets were bogus and that he was the second person to buy them. They didn't really explain much but they offered him row B (5th row) and a $300 refund. All said and done, he will have paid over $900 for two 5th-row tickets instead of over $1,200 for two 2nd-row tickets. I told him that it could have been worse. If Stub Hub didn't catch the fraud, he and four other people could have been standing at the gate trying to get in and they would have told him that the tickets were bad the day of the show. At least now, he has real tickets. Not sure what the lesson learned is here. I have bought many tickets on Stub Hub. All purchases were successful. If they have a way to weed out the fraudulent tickets, then good for them. This story turned out relatively well. I'm sure there are others that didn't turn out as well. Buyer beware, I guess.

I went to their website via my iPhone where I found tickets available in section FB19 row 1 which showed 3 tickets available at $100 each. After double checking the seat locations, I agreed to purchase two of the three tickets or so I thought. After waiting about a week, I received the tickets but not the seats I purchased, I received front row grandstand. I immediately contacted them and was told that I must have made an error when ordering because the seats that I supposedly ordered were over $400 each and the receipt they sent me indicated grandstand seats. I was absolutely positive of the seats I ordered as I double checked the seat locations on my computer prior to committing to purchasing just to be certain.

I was told that I could resell the tickets and purchase the seats in FB19 which are now listing at over $400 each instead of the $110 they were originally listing for the night I bought them. After filling out a couple of their surveys that were emailed to me, I received a voice mail from them which took me a few days to respond to. When I called the second time, it was explained to me that what most likely happened was that because I did not purchase all three of the seats available in FB19, I receive the grandstand tickets by default, which I know is not true, because I checked the site again and found that there were more than two tickets available in the defaulted section and yet somehow I supposedly was able to buy only two of those seats but not the two out of three in FB19. I also noticed that their site has changed and is no longer set up the same way it was when I ordered. I again was told that I could sell the tickets and buy the others. Buyer beware and take screen shots if you order online as I did not and now have to keep or sell these tickets.

Unless, he/she just discovered that they could get a refund after attending the concert if they made this simple claim. All of this, of course, was after I had already sent a check to Sandy Relief with the profits that I had made. When I contacted StubHub, they assured me that I would be getting paid as planned. Tickets went on sale on their website the evening before they were actually supposed to (went on sale 9/9 at 10 pm and were supposed to go on sale 9/10 at 10 am). Due to the huge popularity of JK Rowling and the uniqueness of this event, it sold out in minutes.

My sister, who had been waiting outside of the Lincoln Center Box Office (along with many others) for 5 days to ensure she would get tickets for this event, was able to order them that night using her cell phone. She waited at the box office until the next morning when the tickets were actually supposed to go on sale. The box office opened at 10 am and the person had no idea that the tickets were sold out. Lincoln Center decided to still sell tickets to the event that morning even though it had already sold out the night before. My sister purchased tickets at this time as well. Many fans had left the box office line the evening before, thinking they had valid tickets for the event. After Lincoln Center essentially double booked the theater, fans were worried that their tickets would not be valid for the event.

On September 12, Lincoln Center released a statement saying all tickets would be honored and the event would be moving from the Rose Theatre to the David Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. In this statement, Lincoln Center said they would be contacting the buyers to arrange for comparable tickets at the new venue. Since my sister had extra tickets, I bought two tickets from her which she had paid for by cash. I paid her for the tickets and she gave me the hard tickets for the event at the "Rose Theatre". I would then have to contact Lincoln Center to arrange for the correct tickets. Lincoln Center was still sorting out how they were going to transfer seating from one theater to another, so it took a couple days for them to make new seating assignments.

On September 19, I listed the two tickets I had on hand on StubHub. These were the Rose Theatre tickets which had not been exchanged. The event listing, however, was clear that this event was at the David Koch Theater and had relocated from the Rose Theatre. On September 23rd, my tickets were sold on StubHub. At this time, I called StubHub to explain the situation in that I had to go to the box office and switch out the tickets for the new, valid tickets for the David Koch Theater. I was told that the buyer would be notified of the situation, so that he knew it would take a couple days for them to be shipped. I made the switch and then sent the correct tickets on September 27th. StubHub then processed my payment on October 3rd.

Today, October 11th, I received an email from StubHub stating that my sale had been cancelled, due to the event being "cancelled". I immediately called StubHub and explained it had not been cancelled, the listed event specified the change in venue, and I had previously contacted them letting know I would be sending the new, valid tickets. Eventually, the person on the phone realized that the buyer had actually been instructed to send the tickets back due to the "cancellation of the event" and that they were sent to me today, 10/11/12.

I spoke to several supervisors and was told that I was being sent back the tickets, I could expect to receive them on 10/12/12 and since I could return them to the venue's box office and receive my refund, decide to use them myself, or could still sell them, this transaction was "a wash". I now have 4 days to sell these tickets. Even if I am able to sell them in this short of time, their market value has significantly depreciated.

How is it that StubHub has a right to cancel this sale? I sold valid tickets. The event was listed accurately at the time I listed them. It was clear that the venue had been moved. I contacted StubHub upon selling the tickets and explained I would be sending the correct tickets for the new venue. It was noted that the seller would be getting tickets for the new venue and it would take a couple days for me to get the correct tickets. This transaction never should have been cancelled. I am livid.

My issue has been escalated and I am waiting for a call from another supervisor about this matter. If StubHub decides the buyer is somehow able to back out of the sale, that is fine, but this was a legitimate sale and I should be paid as such because I fulfilled my end of the agreement and StubHub wrongfully cancelled the transaction over a week after payment was processed and the sale was confirmed.

It was all over the radio that Rihanna would be at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on May 4, 2013. Tickets were to go on sale on 09/21/2012 on the Ticketmaster website. Knowing that I wouldn't be around to get first dibs at floor seats, on 09/20/2012, I went to StubHub.com and surprisingly they were already on sale. So I grabbed 2 tickets at $207 each as opposed to $171 on Ticketmaster (I checked after they went on sale). Might I add, I also paid an extra fee to have the tickets sent to my email immediately and I even printed them out. I purchased the tickets for my husband and myself and we were both very happy. We locked our tickets away and were very excited even though the concert was almost 8 months away.

On 09/25/2012, I received an email from StubHub saying the tickets were invalid and will not get me into the event! What? I called StubHub immediately and was told that "something came up" and the seller was unable to fulfill the deal. How is that right? I bought the tickets on 09/20/12 and on 09/25/2012 they get cancelled? I called Ticketmaster and all the floor seats were sold out! How is this right? Five days after I printed the tickets and submitted payment, the seller can change his or her mind at anytime? I was able to receive a refund but we all know that does not help. Obviously, the seller realized he/she can get much more for the tickets because I saw the same tickets listed on StubHub for $246 each. Never again StubHub!

I purchased 3 tickets on StubHub.com on September 7th for Powerhouse (schedule, October 26; ticket price $18 times 3 tickets). I received a confirmation email confirming my seats. The tickets were a birthday gift for my best friend and her girlfriends. Immediately after receiving the email, I noticed the seller didn't provide seat info. I emailed customer service in regards to the seat info. I received a response. I thought the email was reassuring I would get the seat I paid for. Wrong! About two days later, I received an email cancelling my purchase.

The email stated: "We've cancelled the following order and you won't receive the tickets. We're sorry it didn't work out. If you had not been charged yet, we'll release the authorization on your account and you won't be charged. If you were already charged, we'll refund the full amount of your order. The refund will appear on your statement as a credit from StubHub Tickets. Please give us 10 days to process your refund.”

I called customer service minutes after receiving email and the first rep I spoke with was Mindy. She stated that StubHub.com had a system issue with seating arrangement. She said the best she could do is give me a full refund and I can just repurchase my tickets again. She did give a $10 coupon for the inconvenience. So after checking online, I see the same exact seats that were just cancelled now selling at $90 ticket. I also noticed the venue added two new artists to the event. I called back only to get the runaround and got transferred twice to someone claiming to be supervisor by the name of Ashley. She stated that there was nothing she can do but give another coupon. With the few coupons that were provided, that will still leave me paying three times my original purchase.

So StubHub cancelled my seats. I paid around $70 for just to charge me $300 for the exact same seats which are still listed on the site because the site screwed up the seats, so they say. This is unfair business ethics. I do plan on taking this matter further to the BBB, social media and the NBC. This was a gift that I now have to take back. So you didn’t just lose my business, but also the trust of 3 young ladies as well and all of their friends they will come in contact with. This was my first purchase and my last with StubHub.

However, I recently went to purchase tickets for The Book of Mormon tour in Los Angeles on their website only to find significant amounts of price gouging. I was comparing tickets on Tickemaster and on StubHub for the same seating areas. Tickets that were selling on Ticketmaster for $70 were going for $200 on StubHub. How is this legal? Needless to say, I purchased the fairer priced tickets off of Ticketmaster. StubHub is just legalized scalping.

Not only are they selling tickets for that show, they are telling people specific sections and rows as well as saying "tickets are almost sold out". It seems to me that something fishy is going on here. Those tickets have to be fakes. There is no way someone like Stubhub (or their sellers) could possibly get those real tickets before even the official fan club or ticket retailers can! I did email Stubhub to tell them that those tickets were probably frauds. I doubt they will do anything about it nor will they notify the people who bought them! StubHub is a scam. They do not list their fees, which are incredibly high, until you check out. They should clearly list the full price you'll have to pay when looking at tickets rather than make you think the list price is what you'll be paying. Secondly, when you sell, they take a commission out of your asking price, even though they already are going to add a huge fee onto your asking price. Essentially, they're charging both the buyer and seller a huge fee and raking in the dough. It's an unfair practice.

This concert is a little over a four hour drive from where I live. I received the tickets in the mail and everything seemed up to par, but once we arrived at the concert, my friend and I were turned away because someone had already used the same barcode to get in. The security told us we had the original tickets but oftentimes, people either scan or take pictures of the tickets sold on StubHub to make duplicates (plus, I'm a very small girl, can you imagine how embarrassing it was to be escorted out by security?). They also recommended never using StubHub because it happens there all the time. All anyone needs to get in to the event is the barcode.

Well, you can only imagine my disappointment when this concert is completely sold out so no other tickets are available. I called StubHub as soon as I found out that we could not get into the event and was immediately directed to a supervisor and was given a full refund. They told me a representative will be in contact to go through the finer details. They better give me the money back that I used for gas and parking as well. That night, I called the cops and filed a police report against StubHub.

I wouldn't care about having my money back, but I couldn't go to the concert. I have been looking forward for this event for months. I would rather not have my money back and have been able to get into the concert. It also leads me to the question, what happens to the person who sold doubles of the same ticket? I would hope more than just being charged the amount of my refund because they have committed a crime. Still, I am waiting for my phone call. I better be compensated for nine hours of driving time and my $12 parking fee.

We had dream seats, 11 yards back from the Redskins bench, for an important division game. We took a Redskins bus to the game and were ready for a great time (it was my first Redskins game) despite the rainy weather. We got into the game without a hitch, grabbed some drinks, and headed to our seats. About 15 minutes before the game began, a gentleman approached us and told us we were in his seats. I explained that we had purchased our tickets from StubHub and were in the correct seats. I was told the man was a season ticket holder and "his safe was stolen", which included his season tickets. He explained that this problem had occurred at previous games and that we would have to go to the security office and work it out. No problem.

I left my girlfriend in the seats and walked with the man to the office where I was confronted by the police. They confirmed that they were in fact the man’s season seats and had us file a police report for StubHub (as was needed for a refund). They proceeded to escort my girlfriend and myself out of the park. We were told we were pretty much out of luck and would have to rebuy tickets if we wanted to watch the game. We were pretty much option-less. We rode a bus up that was locked during the game, and it was pouring. Our only real choice was to buy tickets for reentry, which were $198.00. We ended up sitting in the nosebleed section above the Giants end zone, with no view of the game at all. Quite a change from the seats we had prior to the "issue". I contacted the police in Fairfax the next day, got all of the info StubHub needed, and proceeded to contact StubHub.

Initially, I was told that we could expect a full refund for the tickets bought on the website and a full refund for the tickets bought at the gates for reentry for the inconvenience. We received our refund for the original tickets about a month later, and after 2 months, I called StubHub to see what was going on with the $198.00 refund we were told we were going to receive. I spoke with Daniel John ** from the "executive complaint department" who had, on our first phone call, assured me the check would be processed and sent. When I got a hold of him after waiting two months, he said the paperwork was never filed and that he had everything he needed to push it through. I asked him to check and be sure, and when he did, I was informed they’d lost the fax. He told me to refax the tickets (thank God I kept them) and he would call me when they arrived.

I have received only one phone call from him in the past 2 months saying he needs a scanned copy of the tickets e-mailed to him, and he refused to give me an address, stating it would be easier for him to e-mail me and then I could attach the file and respond. I have received no e-mail, and the phone number he gave me is directed to a voice mail stating that Mr. ** is busy. I’ve left more voice mails pleading to have this ordeal resolved than I can even count. This isn’t the type of service I expected or deserve from a company that is as large as it is. I’m very disappointed with the service we received and would be more than happy to be involved in any type of class action suit people would be interested in pursuing.

I understand the tickets that were stolen and that we paid for online through your website have been refunded to the credit card that purchased them. However, it has now been 4 months since I was told I would be receiving a check ($198.00) from the refunding of the tickets I had to repurchase at the gate. I have been more than patient, and I am very very very upset that I’m getting ignored. I maintained contact with you (Daniel John **) throughout this entire process, and I was told that we were getting refunded for the ticket we had to repurchase at the gate after being escorted from our seats, out of the stadium, by the police. I faxed you the info and was told that I would have the cc refund quickly and that the $198.00 check through the "payment department" would take a little longer but it would come to the original address the tickets were purchased from. That was a lie!

I waited and re-called after about two and a half months, only to be told that the paperwork was never sent through and that you would have to re-file. You assured me you had a copy of my papers, but when I asked you to check, they weren't there. I was told to refax you the paperwork again, and you would contact me when they were received. I refaxed as I was instructed, but of course, you didn't call me like you said you would. I called and left a message on your personal voice mail, pleading to help me finish this whole process. Once again, no phone call.

This has been one of the most unprofessional experiences I've had to deal with, and it is now officially unacceptable that I have been lied to and rudely ignored by someone that was supposed to help me. I remember being denied the chance to speak with your supervisor, which I’m not happy about at all. I need someone to contact me with some kind of information, or I will have to try and contact Daniel at his home (which I do not want to do) so that I can finally get the decency that I expect from people that make promises. I am absolutely at a loss and feel as though you as a company couldn’t care less about the satisfaction of the people that keep your company afloat.

They sent me the wrong tickets! If that wasn't enough, I called them that night and was on hold for an hour. So I emailed. It says they get back to you within 12 hours. A week later, I have been on hold for over 5 hours (8 phone calls) and sent 6 emails. I received no response. I finally got in touch with them today and I was told they could not refund my money because they have no record of me writing to them and it's not their fault that I received the wrong tickets. I am so disappointed.

OMG. Okay first of all, Stubhub is a third party seller. They provide a portal for idiot scalpers to sell their tickets. It isn't actually Stubhub who sells you tickets. We purchased two tickets for Britney Spears during the special pre-sale on Stubhub. The tickets were priced for $150 on the ticket. Well, we paid a whopping $700 for $300 tickets. This is and should be illegal! This is price gouging/scalping and should be illegal, but consumer agencies do nothing about this. In fact, Ticketmaster and Staples Center have great relationship with them. We feel totally swindled. This is totally fraud!

Do not order from them. If you want to lose out or pay 2-3 times the amount the tickets are worth, then go ahead and buy them at Stubhub. The more you support them, the more they will have the opportunity to take advantage of everyone including you. I had read these comments before my purchase and like a **, disregarded them and went ahead with the purchase. Don't do it! You will thank me. I bought tickets online from Stubhub for a Detroit Pistons game. I ordered 4 suite level tickets for suite number 118. When they came, they were regular section 118 tickets that are on the opposite side of the court as the tickets I ordered and obviously not in a suite as I expected. I told them about it and they said that the tickets were suite level, not suite tickets. I talked to the Palace of Auburn Hills about this (the place the event was taking place) and they said that any ticket labeled as suite level would be in a suite. When I told Stubhub about this, they said that the Palace was wrong.

The tickets were fraudulent and they refused to get me equal or better tickets as their policy says they would. They did not refund me either. The manager I spoke with was even ruder than the first customer service employee I talked to. The manager called me a liar and said I could try and resell them, but I could not return the tickets. I was out $271.55 for the 4 tickets and hours on the phone to dispute with Stubhub and my credit card company, which never ended up getting resolved to this day. I am currently taking Stubhub to small claims court and encourage others who are having the same problem to do the same! Terrible customer service and false advertising of tickets. In October of 2008, I purchased four tickets to the first game at the new Yankee Stadium. I purchased the tickets through Stubhub for $1,987.55. Of that amount, $1,796.00 went to the owner of the tickets, $179.60 went to Stubhub for their commission and $11.95 was added for shipping and handling. Several days after I purchased the tickets, I received an email from Stubhub confirming that my tickets would be sent to me on April 11, 2009. The game is scheduled for April 16, 2009. In mid-March, I received an email from Stubhub that my tickets were ready to be downloaded online. When I complained that I did not own a printer and was not required to own one when I purchased the tickets, Stubhub replied that I would have to find a computer with a printer and download the tickets.

Evidently, if I do not purchase a printer or borrow one (which I refuse to do), I will not be able to attend a game for which I purchased tickets and paid shipping and handling charges to have the tickets delivered to my home. I purchased four tickets to the last game at the old Yankee Stadium from Stubhub and received the tickets (Yankee issued) for the game. Those were the terms included in the ticket purchase for the game scheduled for April 16, 2009. To date, I have not been able to rectify this situation with Stubhub. I feel that they should honor the terms that were originally included in the ticket purchase or refund my money.

To date, they have not offered to refund the money they charged me for shipping and handling. That could amount to a great deal of money when one considers how many people purchased tickets to the April 16 game through Stubhub. These tickets will be collector's items and I have paid the owner of the tickets a premium to obtain them. Stubhub should provide me with the tickets or refund my total purchase price. I would not recommend Stubhub to anyone.

I would like to tell you about an experience that I just had with your StubHub that I do not think is right. First of all, I have done a lot of business with them and most recently have purchased some tickets for the opening game at Yankee Stadium coming up in April. I live in the State of Florida and will be traveling to New York for this big event. When I purchased them back in November 08, I was led to believe that the tickets, which I paid for, would be mailed via FedEx to my home. This weekend, I received an e-mail with my tickets attached for printing. Needless to say, I was unhappy with this, as I am a collector who was looking forward to the ticket itself. This game is History as the first game being played in the new stadium.

I called the company and was told that they have changed the process of using FedEx and no longer ship out the actual tickets. What I am upset about is that they did not even notify me - or for that matter, I’m sure no one - about the change. If I had not called, would I have been credited the FedEx charge? I don’t feel this is acceptable and would like to have the ticket. The person who sold them must have them, and I understand they are unable to give out that information. The customer office informed me that they do not receive them and only ask for the bar code from the seller. Does that sound right? Because to me, it does not make sense for a company of their size to operate that way. What would happen if the bar code number is copied wrong or the seller uses the tickets before I do? I asked if they have the tickets, if they would please send them to me, or if possible, can they contact the seller and ask for the tickets? But, of course, they never answered.

Today is March 30th and I still have not received the tickets. They were never mailed. I've been emailing and calling Stubhub to let them know about it. All they have been willing to do was email and call the seller, who has been unresponsive for 3 weeks! Now, luckily enough the concert got pushed back to May 2nd. This gives everyone in this deal more time. But I made the point to Stubhub that this person hasn't responded to any of the attempts made to contact them. How much longer do I have to wait until Stubhub realizes that this seller went sour on the deal? I want the tickets in my hands now and not at the last minute on May 1st.

The seller should have had sent them by now if the original date was March 31st. All Stubhub kept saying was I understand. But they won't take the next step and get me my tickets from another available seller. Stubhub has their guarantee that I will get my tickets, or have my money refunded. If they come through with the tickets, that would be ideal. But if not, then they CANNOT possibly compensate me enough for missing out on a once in a lifetime concert gig. I've been following pop music for over 35 years and I don't want to miss out on the beginning of an artist's career that has the caliber to rival Madonna. TRUST!

I purchased 4 Yankee opening day tickets from Stubhub. I was directed to their website from the Yankee website. My husband and two sons are big baseball fans. I paid $1324.88 for 4 bleacher tickets to be there on opening day because of the significance of the new stadium. I received notice my tickets were ready as e-tickets only, and that there would be no actual ticket for us. I paid $1324.88 for 4 tickets with a $25 value each and we want the actual tickets for keepsake.

The supervisor at Stubhub told me at first that there are not actual tickets they are all e-tickets now a decision that was made in conjunction with MLB and Stubhub, then he later said the original owner has the tickets but they didn't sell me the tickets, they just sold me entrance to the event. I have purchase tickets this way in the past and the e-tickets are then handed in at the stadium for a actual ticket. Why is this time different (because of the significance of the game?) that is not fair.

I spent a lot of money for these tickets and they want to save the actual ticket from this special day. Actual tickets to this game are out there, where are mine. If MLB can issue a e-ticket they can issue my real tickets. Part of the reason for paying such a fee for this event is to have the actual ticket stub from the first game ever played in the stadium. I am outraged. I don't even understand how now there are two sets of these tickets for the same seats.

Stubhub said this is a joint decision between them and MLB and that they would be saving the Fed-X fees and just printing them out on the computer. I offered to pay FedEx fee as well and get the ticket. I paid a lot of money for 4 tickets to opening day and would just like to have the tickets. My sons have their tickets from Home Run Derby at the old stadium and want these from the first day in the new stadium and I am sure we are not the only fans upset.

I recently attempted to sell a pair of Vancouver Canuck tickets through your site. I received notification that there was an offer for my tickets which I confirmed and shipped as directed. Later I was contacted by a representative from StubHub indicating that the buyer was not satisfied with the tickets because they were situated in an alcohol free section and that they would be charging me for the difference to find the buyer with replace tickets. I replied to the email that I was not prepared to pay for replacement tickets and simply requested the order be cancelled and my tickets returned to me. I later discovered there was an unauthorized transaction on my credit card for the sum of $142 as an employee at StubHub took it upon themselves to upgrade the purchasers tickets and charge the difference to me.

StubHub is claiming that because there was no comment in the optional sellers comment section that my tickets were located in an alcohol free area that they have the right to charge me the costs associated with upgrading the purchaser tickets to better seats. I was unaware they were located in an alcohol free section as the email from the Vancouver Canucks did not list this information. I was going to receive $221 for my tickets but they charged me $142 to upgrade under the StubHub FanProtect Guarantee. I closely examined the user agreement and would like to bring to your attention the following issues: StubHubs FanProtect Guarantee, states the following:

"We Guarantee: You will get your tickets in time for the event. Your tickets will be authentic and valid for entry. You will receive tickets comparable to or better than the tickets you ordered, or your money back. You will be refunded if the event is cancelled and is not rescheduled."

The buyer received the tickets purchased meeting all of the above statements. StubHub had no obligation under the FanProtect Guarantee to do anything for the buyer. Someone at StubHub made the decision to upgrade the buyers tickets, StubHub is responsible for the upgrade not me. I gave permission for the order to be cancelled, which would have given the buyer their money back. Under you FanProtect for sellers I was entitled to receive the full payment as I delivered the listed tickets as agreed. StubHub acknowledge the cancellation of the transaction by returning the tickets to me therefore I was under no further obligation. Please refer to the User Agreement, section 5.4 , it clearly states that StubHub does not guarantee the information in the sellers comments, therefore it cannot guarantee something that was not written there. 5.4 Seller Comments. StubHub does not guarantee any information provided by Sellers in the Seller Comments area of ticket listings.

StubHub referred me to section 4.3, if you read that clause, I did exactly that. Word for word I did exactly that.

"4.3 Seller Responsibility. Once a Seller confirms a purchase of tickets from a Buyer, Seller is responsible for fulfilling the order with the exact tickets that the Seller listed. The Seller will be charged a replacement fee if Seller lists tickets for sale and is unable to produce the exact tickets the Seller listed. The replacement fee will depend on how much it costs us to purchase comparable or better replacement tickets for the Buyer. StubHub is not responsible for any errors made by the Seller in the listing or pricing of tickets and is not liable for any such errors. "

I clearly provided the tickets as listed on their site. I can produce the email from the Vancouver Canucks who I bought the ticket from. Their email did not indicate that these tickets were in a non-alcohol section. The absence of this information in the comments section does not constitute misrepresentation or any other breach of your user agreement. StubHub charging me this fee does!

The problem here is that the seller's comments say they are Front Row/Center seats. This is a complete lie. The tickets are actually 27 rows back from the stage. In NO WAY are they front row. When buying the tickets this cannot be verified since the seating chart only shows sections not rows. Per StubHub they are not responsible for seller's comments. A few hours later, I have a voice mail and email from StubHub asking me to please call them, there has been a problem with my order. When I call them, they tell me that those tickets were not available when I ordered them - the seller sold them to someone else. Then why were they still listed as available on the website? That happens sometimes. So they said I could cancel my order (I wish I had!!) or there were tickets available on the visitor's side a few rows back for the same price. Considering I already told my boyfriend (the tickets were a birthday present!) that I was bringing him to a game I said, "That was fine," and got the not as good tickets for the same price. Day of the game comes... Show up at 7 like the ticket says and we cannot figure out how to get in. The doors are locked and no one is around. The game got changed to 2 pm.

In fact, when I got the tickets, the face value was $41.50 per ticket. The $71.99 service fee was misleading because that is actually the service fee for EACH TICKET. I went back online and there is, IF THEY SCROLL DOWN, a notice that You are buying tickets from a third party.

I took my husband and my niece and her husband to Radio City Music Hall for a very special concert, and when we handed our tickets to the ticket taker it turned out they were for the day before. I had not noticed that they were for the wrong date! I realize this is my own fault in part, but when I made the purchase I was on the phone with my niece and we talked through every step of it, and never once considered going on that Friday, only on Saturday. On game day, 2 hours prior to tip-off, the buyer calls and tells Stubhub that he had received nosebleed tickets and for a different game, not lower level center court for the game taking place on that day. I informed Stubhub that is impossible because I only own lower level seats. Apparently, this buyer faxed a copy of the 4 tickets, which at this point I'm positive he bought elsewhere. Anyhow, Stubhub decides to get him replacement tickets and charges me an asinine $3200 for the cost of replacements. I sold my tickets for a combined $800. The buyer ended up with my 4 tickets and the 4 replacement tickets for only $800. Since it was too close to tip-off, it left me without a recourse to report the tickets stolen or even void them out.

I'm still fighting with Stubhub and my credit card company to reverse the charges since this was obvious fraud on the buyer's behalf... Stubhub committed fraud of their own because I know darn well that the cost of replacements for a bad game weren't $800 ea.. The cost of the tickets being refunded wasn't the issue. Finally, as we were driving to Dallas on New Year's Day, I got a guy named Tom that actually seemed to care. He really did call me back (the first time after all the promises). Of course, his call was to tell me that at this time there are NO more tickets! Oh, and by the way, "Is there anything else we can do for you today?" I am not kidding.

My response - I think I have "been done" by Stub Hub about all I can stand. Yes, they did refund my $980. Fortunately for me, I found tickets MYSELF after we got to Dallas at this sold out event - in the END ZONE in the sky. I had purchased 30-yd line tickets from Stub Hub. I URGE you do NOT use this company. In my 50 years, this is the worst company I have EVER dealt with. The time on hold was worse than the cable company. I spent an average of 30 minutes on hold each time I called!

I purchased tickets for Coldplay in June of 2008; concert was scheduled for August 8th of 2008. $608.15 was the total cost after fees and delivery for 2 tickets. Concert was cancelled sometime in July. StubHub has since put the concert as "Postponed until further notice". The rest of the tour went to Europe through the end of the year. There were numerous calls, one 'formal' complaint by phone, and at least 3 operators all saying I should be refunded, or that the "postponed" classification should be changed to "Cancelled" anytime. The concert is still postponed and I don't have my money.

Complaints have been sent to the OnlineBBB, my state's Attorney General, and the FTC. Currently StubHub has tried to say that the concert is rescheduled for some time in the future.

Coldplay's website shows their tour dates staying in Europe through September of 2009. This would mean I will have to wait more than 12 months from the original purchase date, and original concert date, to have any kind of resolution. And by the logic StubHub is using with their "FanProtect Guarantee", if Coldplay had a concert scheduled at the venue 15 years from now, StubHub would say that would be a rescheduled concert. To add, I've never received the actual tickets or anything else in the mail. The only resolution I've asked for from StubHub is a full refund of all monies paid to them. They advertise the tickets; they take the money; they have the responsibility.

I used Stub for the first and last time. In September 2008, I saw that Neil Young was coming to Chicago. My husband used to play Neil's music for me on his guitar when we were dating. I thought this would be a great gift for our 15-year anniversary. I purchased 2 seats from Stubhub in September for the December 9th show. I paid for the tickets in September. The day before the show (Dec 8th), I had not yet received my tickets.

I called Stubhub and the customer service representative told me she would have to talk to her supervisor and would call me right back..No call back. I called back at 9:30 pm only to find out the tickets were never sent out and they were looking for replacement tickets. Stubhub did refund my money. But never explained what happened... I don't understand. They got my money in September.

I purchased two theater tickets from Stubhub. I had the tickets mailed to my sister's home because the tickets were a gift. FedEx left the tickets on her front door when she was not home and the tickets were stolen. I called Stubhub asking if the tickets could be reprinted, even if I had to pay a fee. They informed me that the tickets could not be reprinted. I asked if they could refund my money, they said that they could not because seven days had passed since the time of purchase. I did not get to attend the show, and I am out $400. I will never be purchasing from Stubhub again. They should request that Fed Ex require a signature, but they do not give buyers this option. Fed Ex should also not leave envelopes that have expensive tickets inside on front doors.

I once purchase a pair of tickets to Jersey Boys that cost $700, and I was not home when Fed Ex delivered them. However, they left a slip on my door saying that they would be back the next to deliver the tickets. They could have done the same thing this time around. I would like to take Stubhub to small claims court, so that at least my money can be refunded.

I ordered tickets a month in advance of the football game we were attending. Of course with StubHub's policy, they don't have to get you the tickets (if the seller doesn't back out in the first place) until the night before the event. Well, needless to say, I thought because I had ordered in plenty of time that the tickets would arrive in plenty of time. The problem with this process is that a lot of people travel from great distances to attend some of these events. This was no exception. The tickets were shipped to my specified address in Minneapolis while the event was in Kansas City. So they arrive the day before and, voila, I've 12 hours to get to KC because I'm waiting on the tickets? I spoke to at least three people at StubHub... I was trying to get the tickets redirected to the place where I was staying in KC. They all said, "Yes, we will have FedEx redirect them" .... blah, blah, blah. Basically everyone that I spoke with at StubHub lied to me because they were going to waive my shipping charges and direct FedEx to deliver the envelope to the KC address... all of which never happened.

I ordered a total of 5 tickets for Metallica, from 2 different sellers, and received ZERO tickets. Their site boasts that it is extremely rare that they don't come through with your tickets, yet they didn't come through on either of my orders. They allow the ticket sellers to wait until 2 days before the show to get the tickets to you, so when you finally find out that the seller just decided they didn't want to send you the tickets, you have no time to figure anything out and no equal replacement tickets are available. I ordered floor tickets and was offered upper bowl seats as a replacement. Never use this site.

I will supposedly get my money back (upwards of $900), minus the interest accrued over a few months, which definitely adds up. Interest on a payment REALLY sucks when it goes towards NOTHING. I also got to completely let down my 4 friends who thought they were getting floor seats for Metallica. That's MUCH worse than the lost interest charges. Oh, and I got a $125 coupon for Stubhub! So when they completely screw someone over they give them a coupon towards their next purchase. Like they think anyone would ever use their site again after something like that.

I used Stub Hub to purchase theater tickets and most tickets were clearly labeled according to their location. However the tickets that I bought clearly were designated as Mezzanine, which is why I bought them. I am taking my mother for her 70th birthday and was hoping for decent tickets without too much walking. However when they arrived the tickets clearly read Rear Mezzanine. When I contacted Stub Hub, they told me that they are not responsible for the authenticity of the tickets. I would NOT have purchased these tickets if the correct location had been properly identified. I believe that as a ticket broker, they need to have some credibility over the details on the tickets locations as these are DIRECTLY correlated to the prices that they are asking.

Here is a timeline of my recent experience with your company. I recently traveled from San Francisco, California to Dallas, Texas to see my family and friends and take in some events as a group. My wife had worked very hard to coordinate everything down to the last detail with the exception of our unforgivable experience with Stub Hub. I will list the timeline and then some observations followed by my expectations in respects to this matter.

11/22 A.M., I call the 1-866 number for Stub Hub customer service to see what my options were to pick up my 4 tickets (Order # **) for the Stars vs. Sharks. These tickets were to be a night out as a gift to my brothers. However, being the anniversary of our mother's passing we as a group were going to be tied up until right before game time at a family ceremony in remembrance of my mother. Hence, the reason I called early to review my options (possible email link to print out the tickets) and so on. My goal being to surprise my brothers after the ceremony with the tickets and jump in the car and make it as close to game time as possible. They had no clue and I had cleared it with all of the ladies for a guys night out.

So after talking to your rep he told me I had no option but to pick up the tickets at Downtown Dallas. One Hour plus from the location that I was staying. I verified the location and made my intentions very clear. I was forced to call back several times even though I had the correct name and order number to verify my account and purchase. I did this all the while making my intentions and requests to pick up early very clear. I needed to get my hands on my tickets early. I borrowed a car, remember I am on vacation and my wife was using our rental car. I drove the 1 hour plus to 2525 McKinnon St., Suite 590 Dallas, Texas in the Sterling Bank Bldg. Once I arrived at this location I went to the Stub Hub buzzer and no one answered. I called back the 1-866 customer service number and asked for help. I was told that no one is there and that the only option is to send an email requesting for someone to come up and meet me.

    1. Why did not 1 of the 1st 3 reps I talked to tell me that I could not pick up the tickets early? I was extremely clear in my request to each.
    2. In this day and age (I work for a communications company) I know you have a phone number if not a cell phone number to talk to Stub Hub employees.

    3. I was told more than once that I would receive a call back with a status of what was going on with my request. This never ever happened, they appeared to not care.

Here is my situation. I have just driven in a borrowed car over an hour to be told that I need to wait there longer and "we might help you." All the while I need to get back to get ready for a very important family ceremony but can't leave without the tickets that I plan to surprise my brothers with that night. I asked for escalation of the matter, no urgency, very canned response. I sincerely feel they did not even care. I have to point out in no uncertain terms that I did not receive any customer service urgency at any level during my entire experience. I did not receive any promised return calls. But get this, 1 hour after the game started and my gift was ruined I get a call from Brandon to see if he can go home because my tickets are waiting? Can you even feel how angry I must have been?

Then to stab me again I get a call the next day after the game is over asking me when I am going to come pick up my tickets? Very poor customer service at every level and all about how it affected their day and their job. If it were not for customers like me they would not have a job. Brandon really broke my back calling and being all about himself like that. I devoted over 3 hours even more with phone time trying to get help from your customer service department. Remember this was my vacation and the time with my family was missed out on. Not to mention the night out with my brothers that I had planned and worked so diligently on.

I am told no last names are ever given and that phone numbers do not exist for employees. How shady is that if that does not tell you they are up to no good. When you ask for a Supervisor they just pass you to the next random person who repeats the same corporate lines over and over with no help. I talked to Chris I am told the highest ranking customer service rep that I am allowed talk to and he could not have been more terse and cared less. How do companies like this continue to keep customers?

I was also told I would receive a full refund by Andra ** (yes she works there) and a follow up confirmation would take place. This never happened. Then I talked to Chris who offered me a $10.00 coupon in a terse sarcastic way as if to laugh at my situation. He is by far the rudest and lest helpful employee of any company I have ever dealt with in my life. Here are my expectations: I would either like to see a full refund of this transaction and/or 4 tickets of equal value. I know the section and row of the seats. I would love the chance to discuss this matter on the phone with a decision maker and not a rank and file employee as I have had enough of your standard customer service level.

On November 23, 2008, I signed on to StubHub.com to purchase hockey tickets. After I found the tickets I wanted and filled out my information, a confirmation of my request came up. I printed this off, and it is enclosed. Then, within seconds, a message came up that read, "Unfortunately, your tickets have already been purchased and the seller no longer has them. Please click here to check your order to review your purchases?" When I did, my tickets were listed, but because I got a confirmation I believed they would be listed whether or not I lost the tickets. When I looked under order status it said, "Seller has not yet confirmed (?)." Then, I read the frequently asked questions? and read about the site but I found nothing in regards to this message. Therefore, I believed I lost the tickets to another buyer and so I purchased different ones.

After, within 5 minutes, I called the customer service to double check. They told me I did get the tickets, and now I had two sets! When I explained the miscommunication they told me I was out of luck, but that they would help me re-sell the tickets even though they could not guarantee that I would sell them. She also told me that she would send it to the technical department to be examined. After I hung up, I called my bank and they told me I needed the authorization code in order to stop the transaction. So, the call center representative from my bank and I called together. I spoke to the supervisor Greg, and he told me he could not give it to me because all sales are final and that it was my mistake. Therefore, they will not refund my money because they think that since I had an order number, I should have known that I got the tickets, but they would contact me after the Tech. Department took a look. So because I was not clearly explained what had happened, I am out the price of my first set of purchased tickets. Nowhere was I explained that an order number meant I had them.

After no one called me back like they promised, I called again on November 25th. Rick, the customer service representative told me that the Tech. Department looked at it and saw exactly what I saw, and in the message I received, they told me that I might have been the one to buy the tickets. Rick told me that this happens often and in attempt to rectify the problem they put the click here? part of the message in to re-direct me to my account to double check. Well, I thought it would be listed no matter what. I looked under order status? instead of looking for an order number because I was never told any differently. I believe that this is either a miscommunication that I should not be punished for, or an attempt to collect more money on someone that doesn't understand the technical terms of retail. I'm a School Counselor, I do not have a mind for business, but nor do I have a biased view on what was trying to be communicated. I interpreted the message under fresh eyes. Although it was wrong? I should not be punished for a misunderstanding. Their lack of a clear explanation of the issue left me out $334.97.

When ordering tickets through StubHub, you have to go through a process that has multiple web pages. The last one shows the information about the tickets including the prices. And on that last page is a "Place Order" button/link, and only after you click that link will the order be placed. So in my scenario, we got to that last page with the "Place Order" button when realized they were the wrong tickets we wanted to order. So we opened a new window/tab then pointed the browser to Stubhub.com and found the correct tickets and went through their process.

In the second set of tickets we did click the "Place Order" button, which must have held on to the other pair of tickets that we only viewed, and somehow placed the order for both pair of tickets. We only clicked the "Place Order" button on the second pair, never on the first pair. But both pairs ended up being sent to us, and we didn't order the first pair and want a refund, but StubHub refuses to refund us for something we didn't buy. As far as one other poster that said "Read the website rules", We did, and we know what they are, and still get screwed by StubHub. We did not order that pair of tickets at all.

Now when you sell tickets they say you are responsible providing the right ones. Which I did. Well the buyer didn't like them because they were not the best of seats. And according to Stub Hub since they were rejected and I should have described the seating better, I would be responsible for the $276.00 extra charges for the nicer seats. And now I see a $276.00 charge on my credit card. A rip off? I should say so. So I say no one should do business with the likes of Stub Hub. If I were like these people, I too would have had problems with StubHub. I place an order. If the order is confirmed and I have a problem with my tickets, I call the company and tell them what they are obligated to do. How do I know this information? I read the terms and conditions, the buyers rights and the sellers rights.

When I call I already know what to expect because it is on their site. If someone tells me no, I tell them where I read what I read and if I got a new person that did not know or I get a veteran. I always get what I want because they do what the site says they do, no more and no less. I would advise anyone who wrote complaints that I saw on the site to look before you leap. The seats were sunk down a foot more than the floor. The real issue was that speaker platform had been constructed blocking our view. We could only see the TV. It was the worst concert I had ever been to. And I paid $500 apiece for these.

After notifying StubHub, they told me that - wait for it, it's rich - that if the tickets had said that the seats were obstructed, then I could get a refund. Since they did not say that, I get nothing. Can you imagine? If they'd told the truth, I could get money back. But if they'd told the truth, then I would've known and had no argument. Stub Hub official tells me on Friday, October 24th that someone from Stub Hub will contact me WITHIN 24 hours to locate ANOTHER set of tickets to the UM/Purdue game on Nov. 1. Well, after 36 hours I call Stub Hub back and ask them what's going on? Once again they claim that they will call me back, and don't. I guess they are hoping I'll forget about the $231 they charged me and I'll just go away. They say that they have contacted a seller who has the number of tickets I need and I can have those, but that they will have to call me back again. Again? Call me back again?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? They have never called me back once so far.

I tell the Stub Hub guy to forget it, and that I want a full refund because obviously I continue to get the run around. Stub Hub guy tells me he won't refund my money because they found another seller, however this other seller doesn't call back to confirm, but I shouldn't worry and that I'll get the tickets. They seem to forget that this is what was told to me the first 3 times I called them about the first set of tickets. I continue to tell the Stub Hub guy over and over that I want a refund. He continues to tell me no. I ask for a supervisor or manager and he won't put the person in charge on the phone. I was on the phone trying to get a refund from Stub Hub for 1 hour and 36 minutes. I had to end up yelling and using profanity continuously and basically wore down the Stub Hub guy and he finally told me he would refund my money, but that will of course take 5-7 business days.

If someone asks for a refund because services are not being provided, GIVE THEM THE REFUND. Why should I spend almost two hours asking for a refund? Ever try emailing Stub Hub? Their customer service people tell you that they respond within 12 hours. Well I just received a reply this morning (10/27) from an email that I sent on 10/23 and that email from Stub Hub simply told me to call their customer service number. It's a circle of frustration. All they had to do was apologize and give me my requested refund, but instead they want to play games. Just stay away from Stub Hub. Stub Hub's inept capability to provide tickets or give correct information should not be bestowed upon anyone.

They could not confirm in any way that they had received the tickets. They just kept saying that the refund would be processed in 3 weeks. I went to the post office and asked them to trace the certified receipt, and informed them that I didn't receive the return receipt card back. The post office said that they attempted to deliver, but no one would sign for the package, and they wouldn't pick it up at the post office.

So, a perfect scam, inform the ticket buyer to send the tickets to 'Cher refunds' so when the package arrives, they know to deny delivery, tell you that they can't confirm that they have received anything when you call, tell you it takes three weeks, then they wait until the deadline for the refunds to expire, and tell you, "Sorry, we never received your tickets." These tickets cost $600 plus their 10% fee and shipping. This is the second bad experience, out of 2 tries, that I have had with this company. I resorted to StubHub in an effort to purchase seats for the first Phish reunion concert. I'm a grown-up now, and I understand how free markets work, and at the price listed on StubHub when I bought, I was willing to pay the premium to see the show. Imagine my surprise when I got a call from a StubHub representative named Raquel in their New York location, informing me that the seller had reneged and I had no tickets. She suggested that I could buy other tickets from their website, except that the cheapest tickets available were far more expensive. Raquel also conceded that there was no guarantee that the exact same thing wouldn't happen again. For all my trouble, I was to be granted free shipping on my next order. As I said to Raquel on the phone, "After this experience, why would I ever order from you guys again?" She admitted, "I don't know."

Raquel informs me, as do various pages on their website, that a sale is not final until the seller confirms it. Indeed, my card has not been charged. However in the intervening time, the market price on their website (and many others) for these tickets has increased substantially beyond what I'm willing to pay. I tried to ascertain whether there was any disincentive for sellers with regard to this practice. I mean, if you can post your tickets to StubHub at 5 different prices and cancel the four lowest orders, then why wouldn't you? List the tickets on eBay, Craigslist, Ticketsnow, wherever! Just take the highest offer you get! Why hold back? She tells me that there is some sort of fine to the seller for doing this, but could not elaborate, and could not confirm for me that this particular seller had been marked for punishment. When I finally got frustrated and ask to speak to her manager, I got the ever-so-classic I am the manager line. If getting screwed by StubHub were at least consistent, I might have been willing to concede and move on, but...

StubHub also has a policy that if you buy tickets from them that turn out to be invalid (fake or voided, basically), that you are protected (full buyer's guarantee can be read here) and that they will make some sort of best effort to rectify the situation. So apparently, your right to protection from fraud is dependent on when the fraud is discovered; if it's discovered the night of the event, they help you out and find seats for you. If it's before they've charged your credit card, well, you're screwed. I would argue that the fraud I've experienced is in fact GREATER in nature than if I had received tickets and they had been fake. Had I received fake tickets, StubHub would presumably have made some effort to rectify the situation, but for me the best they can do is give me free shipping on my next order. Of course, there won't be a next order, so that's cold comfort. Ordering tickets from StubHub is a gamble, and the company clearly cares nothing for its customers. Your order is not a contract, in fact, it means nothing.

So I did what thousands of others have had to do and call Stub Hub, where they place me on hold to contact the seller. SURPRISE, no answer. Stub Hub Guy tells me to call back tomorrow. I call back the next day. Stub Hub Girl this time calls the seller and the seller actually picks up, states he's sorry, and, "We'll sort this matter out." So I get the FedEx shipping label emailed to me from Stub Hub Girl and the FedEx tracking number for the sellers package.

This is Tuesday, October 21st when I mail back the 4 incorrect tickets, which were delivered to the seller by noon on Wednesday, October 22. Now it's Friday, October 24th and the seller still has not dropped the correct tickets off at FedEx... Why you might ask???? Probably because the dope never had them. What does Stub Hub do? Nothing, really. I call them, they call the seller who now doesn't pick up his phone for anything, this guy has disappeared. Stub Hub says, "We'll keep trying and call you back," at such and such time, which they never do. So every time I call Stub Hub and I get someone different and have to explain the entire situation over and over.

So Stub Hub never admits that the seller more than likely never had the tickets and tells me they will forward my information to some other department and THAT department will call me within 24 hours with other tickets of comparable value. Uh, yeah right. So now I have 4 tickets for 8 people and I've been charged $231 to my Visa. I know the game I want to attend is as of right now a week away, but I know this matter won't be resolved. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but after reading hundreds of complaints it sounds like that doesn't do anything either. People just need to stop using Stub Hub because sellers can be trusted and Stub Hub does absolutely nothing about it and their guarantee is complete **.

They told me to wait a few hours to see if it gets confirmed. I called back after NOT receiving a confirmation after about 3 hours and the customer service representative said to me that he WOULD cancel the order. At that point I was no longer concerned with the order until after the game I got home and checked my email and see an order confirmation that was received after midnight.

I call Stubhub on Monday to see what happened and the representative tells me that the cancellations was denied. I wasn't told that they were putting in a request to cancel the order but that they would cancel the order. The representative told me there was nothing they could do so I asked to speak to a manager. No manager was in at the time so I had to call back. After walking another representative through the whole process again they tell me that a manager would call me back. They did NOT.

I call again on Tuesday and am put on hold and then hung up on. I call back and then am put on hold for over 30 minutes when finally a supervising manager named Nick comes on the phone. He was not accommodating in the least bit. He got loud with me and told me all he can do was to refund my shipping cost of $15 out of the $108 that I spent. But AFTER they debit your credit card, you get an email that your tickets will be delivered two days prior to the event, which is a month and a half away. I called and said I would be driving 9 hours to the event and wanted a refund. So I could buy from someone who actually HAD the tickets, but they won't give me a refund. With so many places selling tickets to events, why would anyone purchase tickets that the seller didn't even have yet? I don't want to wait until two days before the event to find out the tickets aren't available. This is a very dishonest way to do business.

They are owned by EBay and apparently they don't care at all about their customers. I bought tickets to a Black Crowes Concert that is not until November 14th 2008. I purchase two tickets from Stub Hub over two months ago. Unfortunately our house burned down and was a total loss. The tickets I had purchased and everything else we owned was lost. I contacted Stub Hub to simply get replacement tickets and was told on several occasions that they could NOT replace the tickets or refund my money. I guess no one has ever lost their tickets, huh. What crap!

Now I paid $326.55 for two tickets that had a face value of $45 per ticket and Stub Hub will do nothing at all to help me and there will be no one sitting in the seats. This company is scalping tickets online and should be illegal at the very least. Anyone with any information regarding this company please contact me at my email address, because I will be investigating this company thoroughly including contacting their local States Attorney to start a class action suit. The operator verbally agreed that they were in order and that she did not see in the notes that these indicated non-consecutive. I decided to proceed with the order. Once I received my tickets, 1 seat was not with the rest of the 7 tickets.

I called Stubhub to complain. They informed me that the seller indicated this on the note. I explained to them their own service rep assured me these are consecutive seats, had she not done so I would have cancelled my entire order. The first operator I spoke to said I can ask to switch seats on game day or put up the 1 ticket for sale. Who buys one ticket to a football game?- let alone a ticket that's 40% marked up from its orginial price.

Jeremy, the supervisor that I was directed to, admitted and confirmed with me that his service rep made an error and all he can do is give me a $10 coupon. He said he cannot refund me the money. I purchased 2 6th row tickets for the rock band RUSH in May, 2008. Since I am a big fan and have seen every tour since the early 1980's I am willing to pay big bucks for great seats. StubHub's seller would not divulge the actual seat assignments due to security issues, but they assured me that the seats were dead center. Of course, I had already researched the section I wanted to sit in at this particular venue near Portland, OR, so I only looked for seats in the 103 section.

We got the tickets, no problem that had a face value of $75 each for $600. When we got to the venue, we discovered that the seats were on the asile which meant that at least 50 people disturbed us throughout the show going in and out (we never left our seats once) and instead of being dead center we were at the very left hand corner of the stage.

These terrible seats ruined our experience and since I am not very tall, I could not view the band. It was a 3 hour trip on either side of the show and I was led to believe that dead center meant that we would be in the center of the middle front section, not on the side. When I called StubHub the next day to complain, the girl was so completely rude to me. She actually said Well, if you would have been in the middle, you would have been disturbing the people on the aisle when you needed to get more beer. First of all, we were not drinking, so we never got up to get beer nor did we need to use the bathroom.

I wanted my money refunded and the seller diciplined for lying about the seats being dead center. The only consession StubHub would make is they gave me a coupon that expired in 3 weeks for 10% off my next purchase. Well, guess what? I will NEVER buy tickets from StubHub again and their offer to make things right was insulting. StubHub is just a high-priced scalping agancy that should not be allowed to exist.

I found two season tickets to the NC State Football. These tickets were in the same section as my own tickets, in the expensive Club Section. They were a good price, so I bought them. The next day, I was looking around to see if there might be any other tickets in the Club Section for a single game or two. I discovered what appeared to be my tickets listed as individual game tickets for the same price, but per game.

So, I called and emailed StubHub. The StubHub agents assured me that I had bought the two season tickets. When I asked how they could make the seller deliver all of the tickets. I was told that if he did not, I would be given comparable or better tickets. Of course, I explained to him that I only wanted Club Seat tickets as I owned plenty of good tickets outside of the Club Section and just wanted to bring my family members up for a couple of games. The Club Section includes a private elevator, free food and beverages, AC/Heat, etc.

When I pressed the agent to contact the seller, he put me on hold and then came back to tell me that the seller was not home and a voicemail message was left. Three days later, having heard othing by email or phone, I called StubHub. The person I got this time put me on hold to try to find out what was going on with the tickets. At the same time, the original agent contacted me on my cell phone to tell me that their search people were looking for comparable tickets. When I asked how they would find Club Seats, I was told that they had plenty of sources. I even offered to take four single game Club Seats in the same section that they had listed.

The next day, I received an email to call StubHub. The agent announced that they had found two season tickets in Section 222. When I informed him that section was in the endzone and not comparable tickets, he just asked me if I wanted them or not. Of course, I said no, and they cancelled the whole thing. I see this has happened to several people at different venues. There is no way I could recommend StubHub after this experience.

Other than some of my valuable time, my sister and family all excited about getting to join me in the Club Section, I am just really annoyed that this vendor is allowed to get away with the comparable promise. Apparently, I am very lucky that they did not charge me. (Or, at least they haven't yet!)

As a loyal customer I am very dissappointed with the Stub Hub. I was searching online for some All Star tickets and saw some attractive ones on findticketsfast.com. Then when I saw they were charging $200 per ticket as thier comission I decided to try Stub Hub where i usually get my tickets if they are not available from the team itself. So I planned on buying tickets between $900 and $1000 for the All Star game. I went to Stub Hub and wanted to see what the comission was on a pair of tickets about the same amount, so I went to a random pair of tickets and got to the screen that showed the comission was only $100 per ticket. I thought this was not bad, and I will return to the site later to buy my tickets.

While browsing for the tickets a pop up came on my screen and I noticed i had a hotmail email from Stub Hub, and checked it out to see if it was possibly a discount code or something. To my suprise it was a confirmation email saying Congradulations on buying the tickets i was looking at. I hac NEVER clicked on a button that said "purchase", "order", "confirm" or anything of the sort. I simply clicked the back button from the page that shows the seat #s and Row, as well as the comission rate.

So, I immediately called Stub hub and told a customer service rep what had happened. He did not listen to my side of the story and told me there was nothing he could do. I asked to speak to a manager, and he would not put me on the phone with anyone else.

Then I immediately hung up and called right back. I asked for a manager and the guy on the phone said he would be the one who couuld help me. He as well did nothing to help me with this problem. I asked for a manager and he also claimed "he was the one who woudl help me with the problem". Not one of them let me talk to a manager so I said "If you dont do something about this I will have my bank dispute the charges".

Both men I talked to that day, had said "Do what you what with your bank it does not matter to us". I cant belive this is the kind of customer service a reputable company like Stub Hub would put up with. They never even once considered that i could possibly be right.

Tuesday July 8th, 16 days later the tickets show up, after i had even disputed the charge with my bank, and tried to tell Stub Hub what the problem was. I have refused the package as these are not tickets I have ordered nor does Stub Hub have my money for.

About a hour after I refused the tickets a different man called me from Stub Hub asking why I had refused the tickets. I told him the whole story from above. He argued with me for 30 mintues which I do not have to waste arguing at work. Note: I am a passive guy that does not argue with anyone, but this guy was going on and on, not listening to my side of the story at all. I asked the man who called me if I could speak to his manager or the owner or someone that has authority there. He put me back on the phone with the second guy I spoke to when I called the first day. WHO IS NOT EVEN A MANAGER!

That guy once again argued with me for about 10 minutes until I could not take talking to him, without him listening to my side of the story and saying I should just take the tickets and enjoy the game.

I will not let my bank release the money to Stub Hub for these tickets, as I did not order them, and I tried all I could to resolve this issue. The three guys I tried to work this out with would not listen to my side of the story and would laugh as I told them what was going on. I assume they were talking amongst themselves as i was talking.

All in all, I think Stub Hub should re-post the tickets and get the money for them. I tried all I could so the seller would not be affected by this error, wherever it occured. I will not accept the tickets as I feel that would be stealing, and I am an Honest and Trustworthy guy. If I had made the mistake I would confessed to it, and tried to figure out a way to correct this, even if it meant paying the comission on it or even taking the tickets to use. But, its the fact that I never ordered them in the first place, only looked at them online. All in all I want to go to this game, and even would have ordered the tickets through Stub Hub, but after this ordeal I dont know if Stub Hub can win back my business.

I go to about 25 baseball games and 4 football games a season, not to mention the concerts and plays I attend. If tickets are not available Stub Hub was my first resort. This is not only true for myself but for all my buddies. I would have never expected to be treated the way I have been by Stub Hub or any of its employees. Im am utterly dissappointed. Now Chase/Visa has recharged my card the full amount of the tickets, and the game is over. Chase says they can not ask Visa to re-submit a claim. So in the end, I am out just short of $2000.

I paid $301 including $41 in commissions and a "Last Minute Handling Fee" for 2 seats - Sec. 125, Row 9. After receiving the e-mail confirmation I noticed it stated "Accessible area, astros bring out comfortable chairs, tons of room, best seats in stadium" and of course they were Sec 225, Row 9. I didn't wish to purchase "Accessible seats" nor did I want to be on the 2nd leel, so I called the customer service department to ask if I could have different seats, she said no.

I also learned at that time that I couldn't pick up the tickets until 11:05 AM, 2 hours before the game, not the event that day. I needed the tickets by 10:00 AM on game day to be one of the 1st 2,500 fans allowed into the park (Canon Photo Day). They didn't offer to overnight the tickets since they wouldn't refund or exchange them and stated that I must pick up the tickets (which wouldn't work for me unless I picked them up prior to 10:00 AM), and if the tickets said "handicap accessible" they would replace the tickets.

I ended up purchasing tickets on the Astros Website for Sec 226, Row 3 for a total of $151 (they had just been released). This event was for our 1st Anniversary so I had to get good seats and my wife is a professional photographer so we HAD to be at the Canon Photo Day event to take pictures of the Astros. I am currently disputing the C/C charge and hope to have this resolved. I will NEVER use Stubhub.com and the MLB should re-evaluate their relationship with them given all the compplaints.

These tickets were to be Fed Ex overnighted to me, for which I paid an additional $19.95. When the concert date grew closer and I had not received a confirmation email or tracking email, I emailed Stubhub to check on everything. No response. I emailed again. Still no response. Finally, the DAY BEFORE THE CONCERT, I was informed that the tickets I bought were, in fact, NOT available!

I was offered only this option: purchase new tickets--but at DOUBLE the price, and all the way up in the nosebleed seats! I spoke with a customer service agent, then his manager, I begged and pleaded with them--but both told me the same thing: "Sorry, but there's nothing else we can do for you." Since by now it was the very day before the concert, there were virtually no tickets left for sale, except for a very few way up top and for double what I had originally bought them for.

I am still shaking just thinking about this incident, and at the utter lack of concern that Stubhub's "customer service" showed for my plight. While I assumed this was just a freak incident regarding one unscrupulous seller, reading the other posts here makes me realize that this practice happens all too often. It seems to me like they deal with this type of bait and switch quite a bit: offer tickets at one price, then pull them back and charge double--thereby doubling THEIR commission.

Well, the seller had sold those tickets prior and didn't notify Stub Hub. So, they go on to tell me that this seller has some other tickets which are TWO SECTIONS BACK ... and WAY UP... And he would be kind enough to sell me those tickets. Well, If i knew this TWO WEEKS ago i could have bought other tickets from elsewhere for around the same price... the problem in this case is that:

    A) They sold me tickets that were not actually available to sell. B.) They didn't notify me for TWO WEEKS.

So, my loss was the tickets where i bought and wanted and time. The price of tickets dramically increased in those two weeks as the show become more publicized, etc. So, there was no way to get those tickets for the price i originally bought them at ... and i was going to have to take the lesser tickets at the same price? Are you crazy? They would not even find me comparable seats as the tickets were way too high now... I told them to stick it where the sun doesn't shine and my mission would be to advise friends, family and everyone else what a scam this company is. I wanted to purchase 3 tickets for the US Open Playoff at Torrey Pines for June 16, 2008. On Sunday June 15 at approximately 5:40 PST I found Stubhub online. They had tickets at the price of $89 but only sold in even increments. Since I only needed 3, I called them to see if they could sell me 3 by phone. The representative I spoke to, Dustin, said also that he could only sell them in even numbers. I told him I really wanted to buy 3 but I would go ahead and purchase 4. He gave me the price of $89 each, 10 percent charge ($8.90 each ticket, and he actually stated the dollar amount) and a $15 charge for pick up. I agreed to that price and we proceded with the sale.

At the end of the call when he gave me the disclaimer, he gave me a total of $580.60. (He did not give me a breakdown of the charges at that point). I thought the cost was kind of high, but I had been told this was a large, reputable company, so I did not question the total at that point. As soon as I hung up, I did start to question the total so I got a calculator out to figure out the charges. It added up to $406.60. I did not see where the extra amount was coming from so I immediately called back. I was told by Carol that the cost of the tickets had gone up and I was charged $129 each for them. I explained my story and asked to speak to a supervisor. She said she would try to take care of it for me.

After I had been on hold for quite awhile, she said that all calls are recorded and they had tried to retrieve the recording of my call but they were not able to. Again I was put on hold. I waited on hold on and off with her for about 45 minutes. She finally said that she was sorry, but bottom line is all sales are final and I would have to pay the full amount. I told her that was not acceptable and again asked to speak to a supervisor. Jacob B came on the line. He said he is a supervisor in the New Mexico Call Center. I again explained my story.

Again I was put on hold. He told me he would give me $15 credti toward the pick up charge and would give me a $60 credit towards my next purchase(wow-with this type of service there will be no next purchase). I told him that was not acceptable. He also said that there appeared to be a "glitch" in the system because it was showing the tickets at $159 and once Dustin had charged me $129 the amount should not have increased. He said he had to check with the tech team and that he or another supervisor would get back to me the next day, Monday (the day of the event). At this point I had already been on the phone with them for over an hour.

Today is Wednesday 6/18, and I have not heard from anyone (and I do have voice mail on the two phone numbers that I had provided him). So I called them again. I am finally transfered to a supervisor, Chris. (They do not give you a direct number, you have to start from the begining each time you call). I tell the story AGAIN! Chris is rude and condesending. He refuses to provide his last name. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he says there is no one higher than him at his call center. He said there is no phone number for executive complaints. He did provide me with the name of the executive officer (Chris T) and the mailing address of the corporate office. I will be sending them a letter. He again tells me "all sales are final, and their representatives are required to give the disclaimer that explains the charges, so I must have been informed of the cost of the tickets". I told him that Dustin had provided the total amount, but he did not tell me that the price per ticket had increased since the time he originally quoted me the $89 price, and that the cost per ticket was now $129, with a $12.90 fee per ticket. That amount was not mentioned during the entire call. Chris said he will initiate an investigation (I thought that was what Jacob was doing 3 days ago). Chris said that basically means he will speak to Dustin's manager.

So it boils down to my word against his since there appears to be no recording of this call. This is a scam. If I was quoted one price and accept it I should be charged that price. The cost should be loced in at that time. If it is not and the cost goes up, I need to be informed that the price per ticket has gone up. Just providing the total and expecting that the customer will do a quick calculation in their head to verify the total is correct is not fair. Please let me know if you can help me on this issue because I am not getting anywhere with Stubhub!!!!!

I purchased tickets for the Mets game June 14th 2008 that was subsequently rained out. The Met's announced that the make up would be played the next night and that our tickets would not be honored. Fans needed to seek a refund or a reschedule date with Mets.com. Since we did not purchase from the Mets but from a season ticket holder on stub hub, we were told we needed to contact them for a refund. I have called 3 times and have been given 3 different stories. The day after first guy told me they would email me a fedex label to send the tickets back, I would get a refund and could purchase tickets to an alternate event.

The Monday after second guy tells me that they have not decided how to handle this and when they did I would get an email. When I asked as to when a decision would be made how they will handle this, I was told to call back Tuesday.

So I call back and the next guy hangs up on me! I called again and Rebecca tells me I have to go to Mets.com to get another date. The problem with that is I have paid $270 bucks for 4th row seats which was over face value and there is not guarantee that I will get comparable seats from Mets.com so I have asked stub hub to honor their fan protect which states...and I quote

If an event is cancelled and will not occur at a later date, StubHub will send the Buyer an email offering the Buyer the opportunity to return their tickets within 2 weeks in order to receive a refund for the full cost of the tickets, including service fees and shipping and handling charges. If an event is postponed and StubHub is unable to obtain replacement tickets for the Buyer, StubHub will issue a refund after the Buyer returns the unused tickets to StubHub. All returned tickets must be received by StubHub within 2 weeks (14 calendar days) of the Buyer's receipt of notice from StubHub regarding eligibility for refund

So basically, the event was postponed, our tickets are not to be honored so stub hub should be refuding my money and they are giving me the run around.

I will never use stub hub again and I encourge others to do the same. They can't make money if we don't fall for their gimick

So I guess I am out the $277, my boyfreinds birthday was ruined and the season ticket holder and stub hub made out on this deal! Sickens me!

My son purchased tickets to a Cardinals baseball game on April 16th, 2008 using my debit card, with my permission. Then on May 08, 2008 he logged on to their website and attempted to purchase tickets to the May 13th Cardinals game, which his girlfriend was purchasing on her credit card as a birthday gift to him. Their system automatically recalled all the previous billing information from my debit card and defaulted to it. BEFORE HE CONFIRMED THE ORDER, he edited the billing information to charge her credit card.

Now, both of us have been charged $125.00, and they are sending us 4 tickets when he clearly only requested 2. I called them within an hour of the transaction only to be told that since the orders are both confirmed the only thing we can do is try to resell the first 2 tickets. Since I am not from Baltimore I wasn't aware of the ticket prices but never imagined that any broker would allow people to sell a product under their name for 4 times its value. I am abslolutley sickened and appalled that StubHub, as a business, would allow anyone to take advantage of innocent consumers this way. I understand that individual people advertise on StubHub but they should have some responsibility to it since they take a good size commission out of the sales. Any help you can giveme is very much appreciated.

I received a response to my email, which was similar in content to the one I wrote here, and their reply was that individual people sell their products on StubHub and althought their hope is that people will be reasonable, they have no obligation to what it sells. It went on to say that the tickets are non-negotiable and non-refundable.

I purchased two tickets for my birthday to the Jersey Boys in Seattle at $217 plus extras (S&H and transfer fees) which amounted to approximately $250 per ticket. The original price for each individual ticket was $92.50. To ensure good seats, I placed a call to a Stubhub agent who contacted the vendor who guaranteed my seats were dead center and section H- 8 rows back from the center stage. To my shock, the seats were at the end of the row--far left and the farthest point of the theatre where many scenes of the performance were obscured. I feel cheated and duped by Stubhub and will never use them again. P.S.The scalpers outside the theatre were much more reasonable and offered far better seats.

The performance was worth $92.50 but clearly not $250 given the way we had to crane our necks to view the musical. Specific parts of the musical were obscured due to the seating being so far right of the stage. In addition, we were certainly not 8 rows back but in fact there were several rows of press box seats which made us farther from the stage--at least 20 rows from the stage. I cannot believe this outfit is allowed to operate given the deception of the vendors. I repeat the exact words to me were "dead center seats".

We overpaid on these tickets because we intended it to be a gift to be given within a week of purchase. We are presently in dispute via our Visa card. We did receive the tickets and returned them by express mail. A few days prior to the event they were sent back to us from Stubhub by FedEx--no letter or documentation, just the tickets. I called StubHub customer service and was initially told that for some reason the package did not ship and local delivery would be set up. Customer service called back a short time later and told me that there was not time for local pickup. When I pushed them and mentioned that their website lists a local pickup site 3 blocks from the venue and that the ticket could also be sent to my home via courier, they admitted that the seller did not have the ticket. They refunded my money and gave me a coupon for a future purchase. StubHub's guarantee states that they will try to find a replacement ticket. No effort was made to find a replacement ticket in my case.

As I told StubHub, although I appreciated getting my money back and the coupon, this did not help my son who sat at home on New Years Eve while eight of his friends went to the concert. I may have gotten my money back, but nothing was done and no sensitivity was given to my son's disappointment with not being able to attend the show. I drove 3 hours from Nashville and called approximately 2 hours before kickoff to confirm their ticket pickup location. They said that it would be easy to find and very close to the Dome. I was unable to find the location based on their directions and when I attempted to call the phone service was tied up until well after kickoff. When I did finally get through, the representative attempted to help me find the location, but was unable to direct me there. I went up and down several streets giving her street names, but she did not seem to have adequate directions or knowledge of the city herself. I asked police officers and stadium officials for help finding the location. Even with the address and directions provided by StubHub they were unable to help. I paid $323 for two $75 tickets to a game that I never got to see.

When I inquired about a refund the self-proclaimed customer service oriented company told me that they could not help. They explained that they could not refund my money because the seller had already been paid. They did not comment on the share of the ticket price that they cleared from my purchase. Apparently the only entity in this situation who was not allowed to profit was myself. After two phone calls and questions about their fan protect guarantee, which were expertly dodged, I was offered $75 toward my next StubHub purchase. I hounded StubHub for months about sending the tickets ASAP, but was constantly told the seller was not in possession of the tickets yet. To make a long story short, I was eventually told the tickets would be sent on Jan 2, 2008 (3 days prior to the event).

Here it is Jan 2, 2008 and I was just called by StubHub that the exact tickets I purchased the seller does not have as they are will call only tickets. My feeling, they got a better price and so looked to substitute other tickets. The customer service person said I have 3 options, 1) section 6 on the floor row 11-not good for an 8 year old; 2) section 121 row c seats 1&2-which would be almost 2 sections over; 3) a refund.

I look at this as a typical bait & switch tactics which to my knowledge is illegal. Add this to the fact the transaction was over the internet and an interstate commerce transaction and I believe would fall under the U.S. Dept of Justice's (DOJ) Internet Fraud Division as well as that of the Federal Trade Commission's Interstate Commerce regulations. I hope that anyone who has had a similar experience with StubHub! will NEVER purchase tickets from them and spread the word, as well as not doing business with their parent company e-Bay. I ask all to file a complaint with the DOJ or at least view their web site at the following address: http://www.usdoj.gov/criminal/fraud/internet/

What Are The Major Types of Internet Fraud? (From the DOJ web site) In general, the same types of fraud schemes that have victimized consumers and investors for many years before the creation of the Internet are now appearing online (sometimes with particular refinements that are unique to Internet technology). With the explosive growth of the Internet, and e-commerce in particular, online criminals try to present fraudulent schemes in ways that look, as much as possible, like the goods and services that the vast majority of legitimate e-commerce merchants offer. In the process, they not only cause harm to consumers and investors, but also undermine consumer confidence in legitimate e-commerce and the Internet. Here are some of the major types of Internet fraud that law enforcement and regulatory authorities and consumer organizations are seeing: Auction and Retail Schemes Online. According to the Federal Trade Commission and Internet Fraud Watch, fraudulent schemes appearing on online auction sites are the most frequently reported form of Internet fraud. These schemes, and similar schemes for online retail goods, typically purport to offer high-value items - ranging from Cartier watches to computers to collectibles such as Beanie Babies - that are likely to attract many consumers. These schemes induce their victims to send money for the promised items, but then deliver nothing or only an item far less valuable than what was promised (e.g., counterfeit or altered goods).
