Have been waiting to get a call back from TWC. I was wrongfully terminated right before Christmas and I filed for unemployment. I went to my local office and filled out the forms. I then get a letter from them about my case and they had put the wrong employer! Where they got this I don't know, but I tried numerous times calling and could not get anyone to answer my calls. Just a voice message giving you the run around. So I then went online to get on a list for them to call me back. I'm still waiting. Said on the letter if there are any mistakes to contact them immediately. 🤷 I did and nothing.

TWC is the worst. If you get laid off too bad so sad. You will NEVER get help to claim unemployment. It is a big grief. Employer pays unemployment insurance. Then they refuse to give any help so they keep the money. Meanwhile no bills get paid no food. Might as well resign yourself to being homeless and hungry.

I have previously been on unemployment in another state (California). They are putting Texas workforce to shame. I thought them to be horrible but Texas workforce is the bottom of the barrel. The website is horrible, can't get in touch with anyone for questions. They take forever to pay you and you could possibly lose everything waiting on Texas Workforce taking their sweet time. The employees are rude and it almost feels like there isn't a set standard or any care or concern for the people that they are supposed to be helping.

I am on day 3 of attempting to file for unemployment benefits. I have called in the morning, afternoon and before closing - I have called up to 10 times in a day. I am unable to file online as there is an error on their website. I don't know what else to do, I wish this process was privatized and not handled by the government. There is little to no oversight in this organization.

I worked for my old job for 7 years which means I should've gotten unemployment and they denied it. Collecting unemployment isn't supposed to be based off of why you got let go. It's about how long you've worked here. I should've gotten it. I was overqualified.

Zero stars. I was unemployed for less than two months back in 2022. I collected unemployment for the exact amount of time I was without a job. I get a letter 8 months after I stopped collecting benefits saying I had to pay back every dollar I was granted. The reasoning? I had failed to show up to an orientation that I have zero record of being notified of. I repeatedly appealed this decision and was given no further details as to why I have to repay them. Again, no correspondence or any paper trail stating I had to appear for a mandatory orientation. Ironically it was scheduled for the day AFTER I had accepted a job offer. Now it’s 2 years later and I have to repay the $3,000 I received. You’re better off going into credit card debt than receiving money from the state!

Lost my job 8/2/24. Applied for unemployment the following Monday. Someone stole my social and applied for benefits with locked me out for 3 weeks before they could unlock my social. I'm a single father with two kids so I asked my in-laws to help watch them. Took TWC two months to finally deny all of August and September payments due to "child care" and the appeal takes 6-8 weeks. In this time I have lost my bank account, defaulted on all credit cards and loans, and the storage unit with all of my belongings will be seized. Thanks for nothing TWC. Also you can't do anything online and have to "call" 10 times for the opportunity to wait on hold for an hour. Most of the time it's a 3 min unskippable IVR menu that just says "all of our agents are busy, good bye". If you schedule a callback it doesn't recognize your DTMF inputs and won't connect at all. So don't even try.

TWC wouldn't have jobs themselves if it weren't for the unemployed. So your company should always show the upmost respect in doing everything you can to help us. Texas workforce needs new guidelines in place and definitely better service than what they provide. They never answer the phone, you don't get to speak to a live representative to make sure things are in order or answer any questions I might have. I was laid off, my application approved. Of course right before I am to get paid my first payment they add a overpayment from 2019 for $1,365. Keep in mind I haven't received any correspondence from Twc in years and completely forgot about it.

Reviewed TWC's benefits handbook that states the overpayment must be paid before you can be paid benefits. However, they also state, If you are filing for benefits and are eligible, we apply each weekly payment toward reducing your overpayment. So basically they can subtract the amount from my balance but didn't. Emailed TWC since their phones never seem to work, inquiring about the overpayment being applied to my balance, got a response back same day with very little feedback providing a link to pay the balance.

It's really sad the way this company takes advantage of people who have lost their jobs and act as if the money they're guarding belongs to them. Like they worked our jobs and made our money just to try to keep it from us. The laws and guidelines that govern this establishment need to be updated. Surveys need to be done to all who apply because the way this place is ran is beyond unprofessional and just right out WRONG. $1365 to be paid while I'm unemployed with bills to pay shows you exactly what kind of company they really are.

I was denied unemployment. For some strange reason they disqualified me and demanded I need to make over 3460 or work at least 6 weeks or more. I stated to work Tom ** and Ross because Unemployment didn’t help me during my hardship I unfortunately couldn’t work at Ross due to racism and hours being cut. I then applied for unemployment again. They stated I need at least 500 to be qualified for unemployment. I even applied for DUA and was denied.

I don’t understand why every application is denied. Everyone I speak with it’s Rude and don’t have respect or sympathy for others. They are so quick to turn you down. I then started working at at a part time job and after at least 4 appeals remain you all my appeals was denied. Once I made over 500 I reported my earnings to The Texas Work Force. At this point I’m thinking I should be qualified and I should start getting paid. After 8 long months now they tell me I disqualified for Ross and I need to make 3460 again in order to receive payment. I think these people are playing with people's money and don’t want help. I think they all need to be reported. This isn’t fair. I’ve did everything they have ask me to do and I’m still getting denied. This isn’t fair.

The agents working for TWC need some type of anger management, or some new customer service training. The company I was with for 4 years, was bought out by a new company in June 2024. I had just applied for unemployment when the new company started letting employees from the old company go. I had called the customer service line to get some help applying for unemployment, since it was the first time I've ever needed to apply. At first they said I was approved, then I get a call from a very aggressive agent. Her rapport was absolutely awful, she told me be quiet and listen, when I asked her questions, and scolds me like a child. I've never had such a horrible experience in my life. When asked to speak to a higher up about her behavior, I was kept on hold for almost 30 mins.

Speaking to the supervisor, I explained what happened, and told her I didn't feel comfortable with this agent speaking to me, and handling my case. She agreed to have my case handed over to another agent, which was fine, but I also explained that I didn't want any retaliation because I had a complaint about one of her employees. Lo and behold 24 hours later I get the message about my benefits being paused because of "misinformation". Coincidence, I think not. You're messing with money that could help people when they so desperately need it, all because I made a complaint about an aggressive employee, and her work ethic.

TWC should require employees to respond in less than 7 days. They give the employers 14 days then reach out to them on day 15 or day 16 and give them 2 more days to respond. That's 18 days and nothing was done. Then they request for more information and allow another 14 days for the employer to respond, that's giving the employer 32 days to play around and not submit details to help us in our financial crisis. The system needs changing, if the employer really has grounds to fire the they should be prepared to present or we move on.

Some employers purposely delay submitting information in hopes the applicants find work before benefits kick in, thats not fair to us. We work, we do our job, some employers just do not like you and so they will do anything to delay payments. And TWC and the commissioners fall right for it. 7 DAYS should be enough time to send in information since they are the initiators. Going on day 58 still waiting for the employer to respond and watching my investigator chase my former employer down to respond. 2 days before eviction trial and no assistance from the government.

Today is 27th of March, 2024 and I have an intake that has to be scheduled by 29th March, 2024 and it has been a week of phone tag. They've mastered the art of not sending an email to the clients, so there is no proof on the email and they can goof off at the work, and they do goof off at work.

It's pathetic that their website does not work, they make mistakes with your info, when you call instead of pulling up your info they are so super lazy they ask you to repeat it all over again. They all need to be retrained or even better fired. Even the main line puts you across to an agent who transfers you to the supervisor who in turn does the same, call up some other number, call back the local office. These people aren't worth the hassle - they see themselves as gods and you are a tiny ant that they love stepping all over.

I was discriminately and wrongfully terminated June 6, 2021 From a small communications company out of Hondo, Tx that had under 50 employees with a CEO that is extremely unprofessional. I felt immediately after my Initial phone call with TWC rep/contractor that I was gonna get denied the benefits that I have paid into for over 25 years. The deadline to turn in my appeal was June 30 and it was faxed off from a TWC solutions building from an untrained contractor that faxed it to a bogus phone number causing it to be late. I was locked out of the portal over 15 times due to suspected fraud and IDme was a nightmare. After submitting the fax cover sheet that my appeal on time I moved on to the tribunal appeal 7 months later. The decision Letter I got from the Tribunal hearing officer had dates from 2010-11 with false statements and lies when I called TWC about it. I got a corrected second letter that was just as pathetic and an obvious coverup.

Moving onto the commission board appeal by majority vote I was denied again due to timeliness going back to my original appeal. How can I get a majority vote against me if my appeal was mishandled by TWC rep that faxed it to the wrong phone number. I provided credible evidence and was still denied. Not right and just wrong when you’re fighting your former employer for their unfair practices and you end up fighting TWC Due to their untrained employees, rude phone contractors, fraud prevention and their biased hearing officers. I have a feeling I will be going to court and I don’t think the outcome will be good but I can’t give up.

The EEOC Issued me a right to Sue letter and my lawyer is working on that. My goal is to stop the small companies that treat veterans such as myself and everyone else that are at will like garbage and think they can get away with it. The TWC with their ignorant bliss has caused me to lose faith in our system and is a scam to everyday people who lose their jobs to companies that cannot treat their employees fair.

2nd time filing and they messed me over once again. First, my job fired me through a text. Got approved and after benefits are paid out, they tell me there was an over pay and I have to pay all that money back. SMH this time my job basically told me to clock out and go home. Wouldn’t talk to me or anything. So, I filed unemployment. Unemployment approved and paid me. Then when it gets down to $4,000 left, money was added to my account which made me have $6600… but I have an over pay of 2600. Yep, do the math.

I filed an appeal and no one reached out, they don’t answer calls and they lie. Okay now I pay it back cool. All of my benefits are out and now they are saying I have an over pay of damn there $10,000 because I “quit” my job. When I showed evidence and had witnesses that my job let me go without reason. TWC is too stressful and not even worth it. My advice to anyone is to not even file. Save yourself the headache! I even talked to a worker on the phone and she basically said TWC did her husband the same way and he died from the stress and the way they treated him in a time of need. He died waiting on them.
