So the first time coming to the office I did not know anything. My friend just brought me. Everyone was so well dressed and was greeting me nicely, I was the youngest one of the new people there but I understood everything and I love it! Most of the reviews here I see are bad but if I earned $400 dollars in just a few minutes having a policy for my mom what does that tell you? Also I had the team help me through everything! And licensing and now I have my own team growing. :)

Agents cannot keep appointments. They promise for an appointment, did not follow through, excuse was that they put the appointment on another date by mistake. No integrity! They make the process very difficult. Their agents do not know what the hell they're doing 90% of the time. They have many field agents, yet they make ME be the one to drive far and go to them for their convenience. Agents are not qualified to manage your money in that they don't even know anything about how the stock market works. They are very good in giving orders to sign this or do that but do not know how to walk you through the procedures. They just want your money, once you paid then they will not help you further. They just want a downline in their MLM, will not even be of good support to you. Beware of the group in the mission valley 92108 area. Very very horrible experiences with them!

A middle-aged gentleman walked up to me while I was pumping gas into my car and began to ask questions about my car, whether I liked it, if I had driven that make/model in the past, etc., etc. I told him I had driven that make/model car before and I enjoyed it. He then asked if I was a lawyer because that is what I looked like (not sure what a lawyer looks like but I digress) and I said no and I told him what I actually did for work. He then said I looked smart (more flattery and what does stupid look like) and asked if I would be interested in making money, increasing my income, etc. I responded that it would depend because there are some things that I am not willing to do for money.

He then hands me his Primerica Card - I immediately said, I have heard about this company and I feel that it targets the poor and disenfranchised with promises of providing steady employment and a good income but neither of those ever happen; that is the population that I work for and they often get conned into quick money schemes. He then says, not with him - he was an inner city teacher for years and his wife was a registered nurse before they started working with Primerica but since they joined the company, they have been able to leave their jobs and the company has been good to them. He then asked if he could meet with me to talk about how great Primerica is and the opportunities it would give to me, stupidly (opposite of what I was looking) I gave him my number to call me to schedule something.

He did reach out to me within days and I told him that was too busy to meet with him at that time and I wouldn't be available for a month and so he agreed to give me a call within a month. A month passed, he calls and we scheduled to meet at a Starbucks one evening. On the day of our meeting, I told my husband that I was going to meet with this gentleman from Primerica and my husband, tells me to call and speak with his uncle who had been involved with Primerica - bottom-line is my husband's uncle advised against me entertaining any of the gentleman rhetoric because he knew first hand from experience this is a MLM scheme and it is not gainful employment for the average person. But I kept my word and went to meet with the gentleman from Primerica and I regret that I did.

When I arrived we sat down and I told him that I had spoken with my uncle who warned me about Primerica. The gentleman says to me, "Well I'm not sure who your uncle worked for but I assure you that my company is not like that. I thought you would be a good person to work with because of the work you are involved in and I thought you would have an open mind to hearing what my company has to offer." I told him I would call my uncle and he could hear what his issues were and that would help him understand my skepticism but he respectfully declined. He then says, "It seems like you have your mind made up and I don't want to waste our time." So I could see that he was upset and I agreed that we should not waste anymore of our time and he left, as did I.

Shortly after, I receive a text message and he accused me of wasting time, listening to he say, she say and he thought I was unfair for passing judgment about what Primerica does and of not being courteous. Well, I called him immediately because his accusations were not fair and false. I went to meet with him out of courtesy, asking others what they know about the company is my way/right of doing due diligence - if I felt like not going I wouldn't have went better yet, I would have ignored his calls all together and lastly I was open to hearing what he had to say about Primerica.

He should not be offended that I have an opinion about this company and if he really felt that Primerica was worth anything at all, he would have been able to counter my opinion but he caved and chose to rail petty and false accusation. Lastly, he had the audacity to send me a link from Forbes which had an article that talked about how trustworthy Primerica was in 2015. I very much wanted to send him this link to show how untrustworthy it is not! If I could have been persuaded, that day when this gentleman sent his crazy text messages - so glad it all ended at Starbucks and it didn't go any further!

I signed up after attending an opportunity night, along with about 40 other people. I was able to pass the insurance exam and attended their twice weekly meetings. After being there three months I suddenly began noticing many of the regulars were missing, replaced by many new faces. After about 5 months, I only saw three familiar faces. I would say there were at least 200 that had joined and left during my time there. I also noticed that my earnings were being drained by monthly fees and my own selling expenses. They even suggested I attend a Landmark Forum ($600) which I declined.

I also began feeling pressured to attend the convention in Atlanta, which would have eaten up all my commissions to date, but also dipped into my bank account. It was then that I began to realize that I was spending more working there than I was making, even though I had been recognized as a leader in 3 different categories during my tenure. After two of my downlines packed it in, I decided to follow their lead after I began spending more efforts on recruiting replacements than I was on actually selling.

If you're trying to find accurate information regarding Primerica, but can't make a conclusion based on your research and experience, I am writing this post to help you, and this may be the only post you need. But please don't start jumbling around a billion sites, trying to evaluate and analyze the positive and negative reviews of Primerica (especially Indeed or Glassdoor). Because I did that, and will post my findings for you so you can make your decision quickly whether or not to join/stay with Primerica, and not waste any more time.

Like you, I was on the same path. I stumbled upon a random prospector at my University, he asked if I was interesting in making some "extra income". I asked him what it was and he just said "Financial services", and from the start he was pretty shady. He even dodged more of my questions about providing further details about the company. (Why the need to keep it a secret if it's a trusted company?)

I went to the location expecting an "interview" but really what was a cattle call presentation about the company. How money works, the potential income you can make, and the presenter showing off his successes. I saw the presentation with a little skepticism, but decided to give it a go because I am not ignorant, and see what it has for me. I was a little worried about stretching my wallet even further, spending 99 + 25 (Background check and licensing fee) to join. But I thought to myself, eh, this "TRUSTED" company, like they said would reimburse me soon.

The first thing they made me do, unexpectedly, take out my phone and rip me of contacts. They wanted the phone numbers of my friends, colleagues, and family. They literally squeezed me like a lemon to get as many numbers as possible, and to set up appointments. Your up line "helps" you during your "training", so the appointments that you set up aren't making you the money, it is making the money for them, Pyramid my friends?

I wanted to quit after the first day, because my family told me it was a scam, and a career in sales, begging people to buy your policy isn't my thing. So I called them, and they said that if I wanted to quit I would have to come to them in person. But they convinced me that this is a great opportunity, and I will get a lot of money. The only thing that the guys at Primerica used to defend their arguments was their bank account balance and their awards of how much money they could make. Not a very good defense for an argument, because they are just at the top of the Pyramid.

The real issue is, the further I stayed, they emphasized getting recruits. 24/7 pushed to get recruits. I didn't see anyone actually trying to help clients, they just want to get more people working under them and having those people work. No one wants to work. They get money if the people under them work. Huge Pyramid. Is it a scheme? Yes. Can you make money? Yes. For example, if you only sold insurance, you'd need to sell 8k worth of monthly premiums each month (commission is 25 percent without any downline reps). If an average month premium is $50, that's 160 policies a month. Even if the average were $100, 80 policies is still huge. If you sell 3 a day that's 27 work days a month to hit 80. And each one takes significant time to sell - time to prospect, convince to meet, go over policy and benefits, etc.

It is Extremely difficult to be in this business. They emphasize working harder rather than smarter. Let's visualize this career path by stating that there is a road to success. On that road is a wall. By working with Primerica, you will need to slam your head against the wall to demolish it. True successful people work smarter, by not beating their heads against walls, but overtaking the walls. Successful people jump over walls, not demolish them. Primerica has some of the highest expense fees in the industry. And their investment products performance is average at best. And those 4 star ratings at Glassdoor/Indeed? It's rather obvious that most Glassdoor/Indeed job reviews are straight recruiting pitches. Not an expert here, but think about it: they have positive reviews from an online site that anyone can create a username for and leave reviews/scores.

Their policies? Primerica has some of the highest expense fees in the industry. And their investment products performance is average at best. However, Primerica has released income disclosures as recently as 2013. Too much work for that little pay. You may as well take my advice, and make your decision based on this. But know that since you are starting at the base of the Pyramid, it will be a pain in the ass. Expect Primerica to cut time off your leisure and school (if you are attending), by prospecting, and begging people to buy your policies or you can just keep drinking the Koolaid they're feeding you, until one day realize the TRUTH.

Arrived late to appointment and overheard a sales pitch to potential "employee". Not sure how they came across my contact information, but the way I was lured into an "interview" was very questionable, disingenuous and scammy. Why the need to lie about the company name and why did the person sound as if they were attempting to sell to someone, if they were going to be employed by the company? That is not indicative of a good product, but reeked of a scam to me. I was told a different company name, but Primerica was on the door. I googled it while waiting and left no more than a minute later without giving any information to them. Additional information: I was contacted by a man named Adam **. Well, when I received the phone call I was under the impression that it was for a new job position. I was told about the middle class drowning, and how I could help in getting them out of debt sooner, wise investing & students going to college without taking out an abundance of Student Loans. Sounded good as I have a passion to help/serve and advocate. I was told I would teach more than anything else, that this was a financial agency in existence for 39 years with 10 local offices.

I immediately asked where their office was located & had to decline because it was a bit too far and was immediately told "you won't have to come into the office". I pushed back with other objections but was told to just come in to see what they do and then make my decision from there. I was given the website and said to myself woah this was the Network Marketing Company that my brother tried to get me to join over 10 years ago! I wonder if they added another segment where we take calls from clients to assist them... Hmm.

So, the day comes where I drive to their location. I was immediately given an application to fill out that I thought was too personal for me to, "Just see what they do" as I was told previously. I then got up before completing it and asked the rep. about that "just seeing what they do" and she said if I like it I won't have to fill it out later on, but if I don't she would rip the application up... Hmm... Kinda backwards to me, but I finished it and thank God I didn't print my resume out because she asked for that too.

Went in a conference room and was asked was I married, did I have any children and did I have any relatives there (Charlotte). My answer was "No ma'am" to all 3 (seriously), told her I was waiting on my husband to have children. I have NEVER been asked such questions for an interview, now I know this was how they find out how they can market products to you. Then got into what I like to do and why, the middle class, about the company in the Stock-Market, how they help the clients, how I can actually work part-time or full-time, having a mentor so I'm never by myself, training, licensing (testing cost $1500, but I only pay $100), Series 6 & 63, POL for $25, etc. I asked for a detailed breakdown of the steps needed so I would know what to do and in what order.

She then began talking about going to www.PFScareers.com (I went there prior to meeting her and it didn't address any specific concerns). Ten minutes later before leaving I asked about the detailed list of steps and she comes back with a 2 page brochure "About Primerica" - "Primerica in The Press". Still not what I asked for... Anywho I am now asked to come back and meet with the RVP tomorrow. Since I will be out of town this weekend, cannot do so. So I'm then told to call him Monday because I will have a lot of questions - I said if I don't have any questions no need to waste his time. She still encouraged me to call him and wrote his name & number on the brochure.

My experience wasn't as bad as others since I heard of the company, nor did I fork over any monies, just name of referrals on the application because I thought it was a real application. Oh yeah, when I asked about the clients she said they start with the ones on my application. WHAT?!?! I will not put my family, friends or associates through this!!! I thought I would be assisting the general public - those coming to me/us for assistance. I would advise to please finish reading through these experiences though.

I have read many of the reviews and I have to say that it is a shame that many of you have had a negative experience with this company. I have been a client of this company since 2007. I have many of their products and I have found that customer service is exceptional! Just because you have been approached by someone who I can guarantee was not seasonal does not mean that the entire company is a "scam". As a matter of fact Primerica is listed in Forbes top 50 most trustworthy financial companies in the nation. And they are listed in the NYSE and rate A+ among BBB. Guys seriously consider the sources you're making decisions off. There is no scam here, no pyramid scheme which if you know anything about business then you know those are completely illegal and Primerica is REGULATED!!!

Also, the company does not pay salaries to the workforce. It is commission based. THIS IS NOT A JOB! I read someone actually say they are content with being a broke student. LOL. Did you know that if you look up what company has the most six and seven figure income earners Primerica is #1, Microsoft is #2. With all this nonsense of about this company being a scam, it's no wonder why 95% of the population is broke. I have nothing but positive things to say about this company and as a client I stand behind them 101%.

I am Dan ** an insurance consultant and now member of Primerica. I've read several of the reviews about Primerica and felt compelled to tell everyone why I said "yes" to Primerica. First off, I spent two years an independent insurance broker and ran across many Primerica policies. Even when their policies weren't the lowest, customer often showed a strong loyalty to the company. I was like many of you a critic of Primerica. "Buy Term and Invest the rest".

My personal belief there is no one size fit all model to buying life insurance. Some people need cash value life insurance but most don't or can't afford it. I asked one of the clients I was trying to convert why she was so gung ho about Primerica. She told me about her niece and how she went from working at McDonald's to driving a Mercedes Benz. I said "Ok, you helped her, who's helping you?" She said that before her niece and other Primerica agent visited her home she had NO life insurance, no investments, and no financial plan. She was upside down on her mortgage and could barely afford to buy life insurance. She told me that Primerica helped her get out of debt, saved her money on her auto insurance and she helped her start an investment account.

Obviously, I didn't make a sale and actually got me to thinking because anyone of here, that is honest knows that Primerica is the 1# independent financial firm in America. The company is traded publicly on the NYC stock exchange and has won multiple awards in customer services and financial standings. Now the biggest complaint I hear about Primerica is that it's a MLM so it's a pyramid scheme. Today I know better. Since I've joined POL I've met several real life millionaires whose not named AL Williams.

So by definition Primerica is NOT a pyramid scheme. There are no ceiling in income. Average full time agent (no recruits) 38k, average financial analyst (licensed to sell mutual funds) 90K with no recruits, agency owners (people who do recruit) 125k to 1 million dollars in income, residual and bonuses. Once again, is that your idea of a pyramid scheme... Six figure income?

Next. The fee Primerica charges (which I didn't have to pay because I am licensed) is cheaper than what I paid to get licensed. It cost 50 to 75 dollars to pay for life insurance classes, 40 bucks to take the state exam, and 100 dollars to get your license independently. That's over $200 bucks. That's what I paid out of pocket on my own. Understand you can make a living selling products (financial, legal or retail) but fortunes are made by recruiting.

Lastly, a conversation with a real life agency owner or Black Diamond producer would have helped the majority of "consumers" on here. Google Jim Rohn or Rich Dad, Poor Dad Robert K. Both became multi-millionaires in "pyramid scheme" MLM. FYI: Never allow someone as broke as you shape your opinions and beliefs. Most reviews I read made mention of having second thoughts after talking to someone. Should have Google Primerica, go through negative comments and weighed them against non-bias reports like Wikipedia, Dalbar, AM Best.

She said the more the merrier and she gave me the address for Primerica. When I got there, there were a bunch of very enthusiastic people greeting me at the door. The first thing they wanted me to do, was sign my name and put my phone number on a sign in sheet. Afterward, they had me sit through a 45-minute presentation and did not call my friend's name until the very end. My mom and I left as soon as we can. What I found interesting was how they all "worked at a warehouse 12 hour days and went to high school as well." Long story short, they didn't sell me and my mom. What a horrible company and I hope they like that fake number I gave them.

This is long but it is exactly what happened and I hope you read this fully so you know exactly what a scam this place is. I was recruited by someone on Facebook asking if I knew anyone looking for a job. I'd been looking for a job in an office so I wanted more information. She let me know it was a office job and she'd have someone call me for an interview. When I got the call for the interview the girl sounded very unprofessional and didn't tell me the true name of the business. She called it Primary Financial Service. I'm guessing now so I couldn't look it up and see all the complaints on what a Pyramid Scheme it was. I was optimistic however I really needed a job.

My interview was with Matthew. He talked for over 45 minutes about how great their company is, it's all about helping people unlike other businesses like them he said how he had only been there for 20 months and was a regional leader. Well the regional vice president was his sister and brother in law and the woman who ran that location was his sister in law.. I should have known then what kind of scam this was.

Finally in the end he got to how it's based only on commission and how to work there you would have to pay fees such as for licensing $1,500 and a background check $124. Well right there I was turned off but he then said they actually pay the licensing fees. All I have to pay was the background check and if I pass they give it back. Okay, that sounds a little better. He then says he needs to see a card to make sure I do have an account and that the next time I come in for orientation I need to give him my account and routing number. I showed him my card. I did not authorize a charge, he never told me he would be running it. I did not give my signature, pin or voice recording authorizing this. I had no idea my card would be ran.

He started questions for a background check and got my social security number for that. In the end he let me know when I go home that people may tell me it's a scam or to not do it but don't trust them.. That made me even more suspicious. I went home and right away was told just that by my boyfriend, parents and then I looked up the name and my mind was made up. I saw people said they took $124 from them, so I checked my account. Sure enough there was a charge for $99 and then $25. What I didn't know was the $25 charge was a monthly recurring fee. I immediately called my bank and they told me to talk to them. I called Matthew and for over 10 minutes he tried to convince me to still do it and it wasn't such a scam even though I told him over and over I was no longer interested.

I said I wanted my money back but he told me I still had to come to the orientation. Well I was not going to do that. I then started to read the packet and in there they try to claim your social security number is a signature (that is illegal according to my bank) and I then saw that the $99 fee was actually for licensing and the $25 was a monthly fee which he lied about. I filed a fraud claim with the bank but it is much harder to get money back from a debit card than credit which is why they don't take credit cards. I then filed a report with the police station because he forged my signature in the form of my social security number and pressing I accept saying that was a signature without my permission and stole my money.

I then called Primerica the next day to ask why they said I signed when I never did. I talked to a woman who tried to interrupt me the whole time as I was very angry. I wanted my voice to be heard and she then told me if I wasn't quiet she would hang up.. Very professional. I will get my money back and I stopped the monthly fee. I just want people to be aware of what they are going into. This place makes money of recruiting not of actually selling life insurance which is why you don't actually make any money. They just take yours and that's how they make money. I'm 19 which is why I feel victim. They only recruit young naive people who don't know what's really going on. I hope you don't make the same mistake I did.

I understand Primerica isn't for everyone (especially negative and simple-minded people) but don't make it seem like it's not a good opportunity or we sell a dream that cannot come true!!! I came in with my boyfriend and we are killing it - making GREAT money, saving money now and mainly being able to help families when no other company would cater to those needs. Fist off the company will twist words into your mouth to get you to sign up under a class program that you are required to pay for and attend to get your license and that you have to give up two to three days to take this class which is around $125.00. Next they require you to pay a $25 / month membership fee just to use the stupid pointless app to access your client information on your mobile device. Total bogus stunt that charges you every month until you look at your bank account and realize that you have been paying for this app you hardly ever use... Be prepared to call customer service a few times, or possibly three to four times until you get your point across that you do not wish to be charged the $25/ month any longer. Short version: They took my money and took a very long time to help me out on how to get my money back (still have not received my money). I told them to cancel my policy and they did not. I get charged $25 twice a month. They are liars and thieves. Long Version: At first Primerica sounded like a great opportunity. I have to admit I was a bit naive and gave them the benefit of the doubt because everyone I know told me they were a pyramid scheme. Anyway, I signed up to work for them, and they gladly took my $125 from me. I went to 2 meetings. At the first meeting I thought, "Okay this sounds great. Too good to be true," but I gave it a second chance. They told me "Come to the next meeting so that we can get started with your training." I went thinking that I was going to learn new things, you know like school work and such.

When I got there I had to sit through another presentation exactly the same as the first one I had gone to. I mean almost word by word and let me tell you that it was not a short presentation. At this point I was tired. I wanted to go home but they convinced me not to. I stayed and at the end the presentation I did not learn anything. They got me to write down a few numbers and made some calls. I had advised them that I wanted to be the one to call 2 of those numbers. They did not listen and they hassled the contacts I gave them. After that I knew I was not going to work for them at all. I asked for my money back since I did not take any tests and they took at least 3 weeks to reply back.

As far as their policy goes they are thieves and nothing but thieves. I told them to cancel it and I am still getting charged. Absolutely terrible company and even worse people. I advise you if you like your sanity and your money do not join Primerica. But if you like random people calling your phone at all times nonstop then go for it. Primerica may just be for you.

I worked for Primerica back when it was A.L. Williams and had a great run. I wasn't pressured into going to an opportunity meeting. I'm pretty open minded and fairly good at judging a good opportunity from a bad one. I read some of these reviews and feel bad for some people. When I hear that they are pressured into seeing the opportunity, I believe that the person who invited them is super excited, maybe too excited. They have never been in sales and don't know better.

Quite honestly, when I got started, I was out of my mind trying to recruit a team. None of my friends believed me and none joined. However, a kid across town who went to the other high school joined A.L. Williams and recruited two of his buddies. So while my friends struggle with bills, house payments, tuition for kids etc, those 3 guys are now multi millionaires and in the business over 30 years. My time with the company was great and I made money. If you are thinking about looking at this opportunity, don't let anyone talk you out of it. Go see it for yourself. Then make your decision. It may be for you, it may not.

Mid-day in central Mississippi and I walk into a Kroger and was almost immediately approached by a tall, professionally dressed black guy. He approached me saying "What's your name? You look really familiar. Are you married?" My thoughts: "Umm yeah creepy black dude. I'm married and BYE." But he was a middle aged guy and seemed to be more of the old uncle type so I hung around. Keep in mind I'm a 30-yr old black woman in MS where everybody knows everybody so though initially that was off putting I figure, I have time I might as well listen.

After I told him I was married he asked if my husband and I were interested in making more money where we could be our own boss. I told him not really (sensing where the conversation was going I hoped he'd let me go after this) and that we'd both just got new jobs. I told him I worked in corporate HR/compliance and my husband is a teacher. He then flips it and pulls the "black card" with all "them" meaning white people making the bulk of the money in America and us blacks are out here doing the work to keep them wealthy. Be that as it may or may not, the fact that this man stood in front of me for 10 mins at least and didn't bother to take his sunglasses off at the entrance of Kroger bothered me. If your goal is to recruit me, I have to trust you. That was red flag #1.

The 2nd red flag was the fact that he never told me the company name until we were done and he'd handed me his card...why the secrecy? 3rd: whenever he picked up on my resistance he'd reiterate, "Listen to me now, this is big brother talkin' here. I'm just talkin' to you like a little sister." I realized this was to help create a familiarity and level of comfort with people you really don't know.

4th: he boasted about how easy it was for him to make money. I told him it was easy for me too. Here I was shopping in Kroger at 11am and yet my paycheck will still be the same. He did agree to that point. He countered that with the fact that he'd been in south MS this morning for about 30 mins and made about $800. That, my friend, was bull...why? I'm an observer by nature. I noticed his sunglasses - almost completely opaque and reflective so I couldn't pick up on the truth in his eyes. I also noticed the shirt he had on was really worn. I mean the pocket was about to fall off. But I'm supposed to believe you're bringing in 6 figs? Nah.

I'm a deeply spiritual person and after talking to this man my gut was telling me "Don't do it. He's lying." I took his card and saw Primerica and thought "Yep, I knew it." I did give him my cell number just to see how far I can push him to get to the real truth. My sole purpose with people like this is to expose them for trying to take advantage of people in bad situations. I do the same thing for the Jamaican telemarketers that call to tell you you've won 25 million and a new Benz is waiting to be shipped to you! Haha! I believe it's my duty to piss them off for all the people they've misled. And I enjoy it.

The guy showed us everything, and how Primerica can help us, which all sounds great. When we told him we could afford everything, and like what he was telling us, that all came to an end and all he kept doing is pressuring me into joining their team. He would not take no for an answer. We were never actually offered any products to invest in or purchase. Not really sure if they actually sell anything. Oh, and I can sell people stock in the tree in my backyard, doesn't mean it's not a scam.

PRIMERICA - sounding all goody, goody American...LOL! Particularly, they like to make themselves look like they can MAGICALLY ATTACH WINGS ON THEIR BIG BENS!!! They came out to my college & set up a table with handouts of information & they know younger people will flock to their table with freebies including candy. Looking good & sounding great...yadda, yadda & they really thought they had me hooked because I actually took time out of busy schedule & listened to her spill about making "BIG, FAKE $$$." Of course they asked me for my personal phone number. How nosey & intrusive of..."PRIMERICA, DO YOU HEAR ME?!"

First time they called, I missed it but they PERSISTED & called a second time even though they are just around the corner from where I live. I told them I was having car trouble which I was. School keeps me busy & that's another reason I cancelled the appointment. They had scheduled me to come in & chat with them. Like most everyone else, I'm sure this was misleading & I was blinded by the SUPER FAST, FAKE $$$. I'm glad I cut off the association immediately & NOW I FEEL GREAT FOR DOING SO after reading these reviews!!! I feel really bad for the people who got stuck with Primerica. So sad. Thank you guys for posting. I'm happy just being a college student! PRIMERICA, here's a flaming star on fire JUST FOR HANDING OUT CANDY! I just recently joined Primerica and I got online and did some research on the company. I was very disturbed by the reviews I seen. It stated everything from creepy people approaching to pyramid scheme claims. I have been a customer of Primerica for years. Years ago I was offered the opportunity to become an agent but turned it down because I was working full time and had a family. This year I was put in a position where I did not have a job and the opportunity presented itself again. I was hesitant but decided to jump in. The people at the office meeting were nice, kind and willing to share their experiences. I was given training and everything was laid on the table. No hidden agenda.

As well during the years I was just a customer I could log on and review my policy and had absolutely NO PROBLEMS. People error. However, the fact cannot be disputed the company itself is a good company and offers a good product. At the end of the day this is what matters. This is a sales/commission position and you have to work for what you want. But no one lied to me and told me different. Please consider this when you read all these bad reviews. Seems to me all the people who have the bad reviews either dealt with bad people, or did not take the time to get a full understanding of what the position included. Ask question people. It is better to be sure than regretful when things don't work out.

If anyone is thinking of or is considering Primerica, please read this, if you don't want to read the whole essay, please skip down to the last paragraph. At the time I was desperate for a job, my friend came to me and offered me a "job". I was told the job is just entering info onto a computer and then telling clients of that result, I thought that is pretty neat. After two interviews not going well, I decided to give this a try.

I went to my first career night, and the people there are very enthusiastic about the matter, at once I thought of one of those business runners/people who says so much good things trying to promote their business, like "Do you know you can be the key to your treasure chests of which contains keys to other treasure chests?" etc. Ok, at this point I am willing to try new things. I was then told to come to training, twice a week, and to obtain a license. I was later told to find my own clients. They taught us to use our warm market lists and friends of friends. Basically, they just wanted you to keep making calls and make appointments.

I then submitted an IBA, and got me a life insurance, as a sale for myself. I later realized finding friends who wanted to do business was harder than it looks. Training just teaches you how to approach your friends and counter objections etc. Once in a while there are some big events where they get some higher up people to give some speeches to get you hyped up, and make it sound so easy.

How they worked is like a tree: from the top down, everybody is a person with their team, and each person in that team has their own team, and so on. The analogy they used is a brokerage firm, where we have a broker and the agents, the agents makes money for the broker. Well, how is that fair, what they tell us is because you can also have YOUR team where people make money for YOU.

One friend I talked to, she actually already talked to a Primerica agent a while back and didn't like it because she felt it to be like a pyramid scheme. Slowly, I started having my doubts, not because of what my friends said, or what my parents said. I decided to go online one day and look up what people say about Primerica, so I can devise some new counters to those objections. Surprisingly a lot of the reviews are negative. At the same time, my parents knew a bit more of what I do, they know the system, and is strongly against it. But, the biggest factor that made me quit is that it's been 3 months and I have not have one cent of income and lost money to pay for the $99 of fees for classes and etc, and 28 ish dollars each month for insurance. This is not working out for me, so, I have decided to stop, at least until I have a steady source of income (a job).

What they tell you is all towards the good things, like a normal job, where you work your ass off, and gets paid by the hour, and boss might give you crap, or if you self found a job, you stop getting paid if you stop working. It's one of those "too good to be true" situations. Whereas in Primerica, you work once, you get paid for life or something like that. They train you to talk smart.

Criticisms: Once in a while we are invited to watch a video by the head office to explain what's going on, like "Oh my goodness January is the month to start doing things, it's a brand new year we got so many new events lined up blah blah" and doing all this promotional things, and almost brainwashing things to get you hyped out. It still feels like the head office makes you go this direction, and it felt like a pyramid that way, where we are the sheep making tons of money while that's just a fraction of what people above us makes. I guess this is where I feel like it's a pyramid scheme.

Conclusion: I don't blame my friend for recruiting me into this, it is his job after all. It is just not working for me. Also, I don't want to subject all my friends for business (there is also that awkwardness where someone you haven't talked to in a long time, and suddenly they came to you for something, weird huh). They (Primerica) claim this is justified because what's more important, people thinking you are annoying or that you are financially secure?

I am not willing to believe that it's a pyramid scheme, it's a multi-level marketing scheme. They are listed on the NYSE, and is deemed by Forbes as one of the most trustworthy companies, so they have credibility to some degree. I am just upset that I spent 3 months on this and didn't really get anything out of this. All this "job" is make you review your friends list, make you reconnect to your friends, so the purpose of doing business with them is easier. I am willing to believe that Primerica works, it's just not for everybody.

I experienced the death of my father the summer of June 2011. My father had been a normal, middle-class father, taking care of two children, also with a working wife. We weren't rich by any means, as my parents both worked for The Big Three my whole life, and still today. My father had a close friend in the Primerica business, and decided to look at his old policies to decide if he could save any money. Before my father had only a $100,000 policy while paying over $100 for the coverage monthly. After finding out the money he could save, he immediately signed up for Primerica. He had no idea his life would end as soon as it did, but were we lucky that he increased and signed a policy through Primerica. He continued to pay $100 per month with increased coverage to $500,000. He had great health, as he was 41 years old.

I am so proud to say Primerica took care of me and my family! If they hadn't been the ones insuring us, my mother would be completely lost and stressed daily by the financial struggle of life raising two children alone. You may not agree with the recruiting aspect of Primerica, but I wouldn't oppose a job where I can work with loved ones and warm-market contacts to create my business, especially if the business is profitable for me and is beneficial to the people buying it.

Beyond insuring someone's life (very important) investing for retirement is the next priority. I promise if your money is in the bank, you're not making anything on it about 1-2% My mother currently makes a profit of MINIMAL 3% a year in a Roth IRA through Primerica Financial Services. Give Primerica a chance. Take a look at your current products and compare. Their goal is not to only sell their product, but to make sure families are saving money with them. Current life insurance my mom has through Primerica $600,000 -- at $140 per month -- age 55. BTW it's $300,000 growing annually $$$$$.

Primerica Financial Services Company is not a scam. This company has been in business since 1977 and if they were a scam or a pyramid they would not be in business. It is sad that it is being misrepresented by some of their agents. It's not a job with an income. It's an opportunity to own your own business working on commission only. That is why you must pay to be educated and obtain your licenses in the state you live to sell insurance and investments to clients. This education gives you the opportunity to educate people how insurance and investments work, so they can make better choices with their money. The opportunity is not for everyone. But the information they have to share will benefit everyone who takes the time to listen.

My mother was approached by an agent back in 1979 and he showed her how to invest her money in a better way than saving her money in a bank. That information she was given and investments gave her the opportunity to retire at an early age and spend her winters in Florida where the weather was much nicer than in Ohio where she lived. If not for the investment information she would not have been able to afford that nice retirement life. That same year I was graduating from High School an insurance agent from another company sold me a $14,000 life insurance policy that cost me $15.00 a month.

I then met the agent who helped my mom and he explained how I could purchase $100,000 of life insurance for about $5.00 a month with $10.00 left over each month to invest. So I could have a lot more insurance spending a lot less money and have money left over to save. He explained how important it was to begin investing early and to invest each month.

I began investing $25.00 each month at age 18. As I made more money I would raise the amount. Investing in IRA's, 403b, mutual funds and thinking of myself as a bill, paying myself first. This has paid off and I am so grateful that I met that man who educated me on insurance and investments. I still have insurance and investments with Primerica, formerly A.L. Williams Company when I was introduced to the company. My mother still has investments. I have friends who have been licensed with Primerica since 1978 and they have made a lot of money. They have financial freedom because they worked hard with Primerica. They are great people who enjoy showing and education people on how money works. They also love recruiting other people who are tired of working for someone else and want an opportunity to not only help others but to also have financial freedom.

I personally have known these people for over thirty years and have been in their homes. I know the sacrifices they went through to become successful with Primerica. Not only is it hard to talk with people about Insurance, something people do not want to talk about but it is also hard to hear the naysayers over and over again who know only what they hear.

Don't just read the reviews if you are looking for an opportunity to work for yourself plus help people at the same time. Do your research, talk with the Primerica agents who have been with the company for over twenty and thirty years. There are many to talk with and take a look at the real Primerica! Go visit the home office located in Georgia. If anyone tells you it's an easy business, they are lying. It's a hard business and the no's and nay sayer's will cut you down.

But if you want to be with an AWESOME company, take a deep look and do your research regarding Primerica. They will deliver if you work hard and want to succeed having your own business. They do what's right for people by providing the proper amount of coverage a family needs in case the breadwinner dies and showing people how to invest for the future. There are bad apples in every bunch but this is a positive company that is doing what is right for people. Search out the Primerica owners who are doing the right thing, not the bad apples who are misleading others. IT'S AN AWESOME OPPORTUNITY!

However, he has persevered and I have seen how he has helped families save money and get out of debt. Primerica has grown over the past 4 years and they now help provide the best rates on auto, home, long term care, and health insurance. This is in addition to the term life insurance that they started in order to help families save money by purchasing the least expensive insurance so that they could 'invest the difference' and save money for retirement. I am now a huge supporter of my husband's business and I can see how it has helped him become a more positive person. This company is made up of great people who only want to help families save money and provide for their future.

To be paid whether you perform or not is a crime as an employee. Yes I too was guilty of this too. If you fear to commit to your dreams and make them a reality, you may have just wasted valuable time. The one that doesn't plan to succeed but fails to have a plan at all isn't going very far no matter his level of education. So yes, the concept of having a system that works for the people (client) and compensated its representatives rather than giving it to your in-house brain washing devices or printed press is revolutionary. I'm pleased to say that in my first weeks in the company, I've already earned more than what was asked of me to become an independent representative (independent contractor, nothing new or illegal) of the company.

Working for another firm, it would have taken much more than a formal college education and sales skills to own your location. But you would be asked on having a substantial amount in liquid assets $100,000 to $250,000 along with a co-investment for marketing no less than $50,000. I would recommend reading "So You Want To Be An Insurance Agent" by Jeff Hastings. It will paint a clear picture of just what it takes to open an insurance/financial service agency. Also keep in mind that you'll have to a location to conduct business and hire employees or independent contractors to do the business with you. For you no difference. Well I am happy to say that yes, it may not be for everyone but keep in mind that we all have different points of views on what we consider a pyramid company format and your traditional format for employment.

I like to believe that I'm in business for myself but not by myself. I'm partnered up with a company that has a belief system with the consumer's best interest in mind. At the same time I'm compensated for my efforts not for the time I give up to some other person or entity that decided what it's worth. Coming from the same industry, I really had my eyes opened to who benefits the most from a cash value policies. If they don't perform well or you decide to cancel sooner than the end date or when you've accumulated a cash value, it would be a good idea take a closer look to the fees incurred throughout the length of your term/whole life policies. Plus without the other service provided by a company like the one these complaints are about, one would be in the dark without a destination.

If you have a family and are in the process of owning your home via a mortgage, have children and other liabilities but haven't looked at your financial plan in the event of a hardship, locate your local PFS.inc office and ask for a complementary Financial Needs Analysis for clients. You'll be surprised how helpful it may be to implement a plan of your own. I read a few of these complaints and well yes I agree that some individuals may have conducted in a manner that was unprofessional to some people's standards. But take note that they are working outside the comfort zone and wish to share the opportunity you may be too scared to take on no matter what the end results may be. Thank you for reading. I appreciate your opinions. If you'll like to know more of how I'm doing, I'll let you know.

To date, I have never had a problem with this company. When I did have to call for an address change, the customer service representative was extremely friendly and helpful. I did receive a letter in the mail that stated my rates were going to increase by a few dollars, however, my insurance policy would also increase in its value. If I didn't want the rate increase all I had to do was call and they would remove the rate increase. However, I was thrilled to know that I would be getting higher coverage for only a few dollars more. The company has a good reputation for paying on their policies and providing great products to their customers.

I was approached at Target by a man, rather creepy. He asked if I was looking for a job, but emphasized that no training was necessary and actually preferred no training since they would train them. I asked what company and would only say an insurance firm in Whittier, Ca. He asked for my number and to schedule a phone interview. I am looking for a job out of college and unemployed, so I gave him my number.

Once he called, I immediately had my laptop out searching what this company was and saw these reviews and more. I told him I had a degree and was not interested and that I did not like companies that bother people on the street, he should put it on Monster or something. He got rude and went off that if I wanted a job I shouldn't be picky and that I would make loads of money that they prefer to do recruiting on the street since it gets them to interact with people. Again I said, "No, thank you." I have received another 3 calls and they won't get the hint that people know they are a scam.

A few months ago, I was sitting at the mall eating lunch during the two-hour break I had in between classes. A guy from Primerica approached me "mistaking" me for a friend of his. (I put the word "mistaking" in quotations because I found out after I left that it was a tactic to persuade me to join.) He asked me if $2000-3000 would make a difference to me, and I said, "Yes." Now here's the thing, looking back on this in retrospect, this is shady. However, I'm a current undergraduate student who's been unemployed for almost 4 years. The job market is difficult and I was desperate enough to go with it just because I needed money. They decided to schedule an interview with me but they wouldn't tell me what the company's name was. I'm someone that doesn't like to beat around the bush so I didn't appreciate this at all. They even told me that they couldn't make any promises that they would take me on.

Flash forward to interview day and I'm hanging out with my friends. I tell them about this opportunity and they're telling me companies like this are a scam, especially Primerica (I didn't know this was Primerica at the time though). Still, I was willing to give it a chance just because I had that "What have I got to lose?" mentality. They interview me and I give them honest answers saying I want money to be able to pay for tuition and so on. They like what they heard and then they invite me to their information session on Thursday and I go to it. Tell me, though, what's the point of telling they couldn't make any promises if they were going to take me on anyway?

It's Thursday night and the information session seems great. Everyone seemed so friendly. I was very enthusiastic and engaged, but this was mainly because of desperation. Then they require me to pay $103.95 + $28.00 for the classes and licensing, but I didn't do that until Saturday because I needed my bills to be paid off. That was a big mistake on end of things. That same night too, they drive me home, and the guy who took me on gave me a hug saying, "Welcome to the team." Then he texts me asking me, "Did you get inside okay?" No offense, but that is kind of creepy. I'm not against kindness in any way but that was just super creepy and felt kind of fake to me.

Saturday was when I decided to call it quits. I still went to the information session and I was again engaged and enthusiastic because of my financial desperation. However, what made me decide to call it quits was a number of things. One was that the session was supposed to be 2 hours and it went beyond that time frame. I missed nearly a whole day of studying because of this and then they ask for a list of people to try and recruit onto their team. I felt a bit uncomfortable doing that, but I kept the list for myself so they never got it. They were even saying things like how they're very genuine and that I am family. If you have to assure me that you're genuine, then I'm not going to believe you. Show me that you're genuine, and then I'll believe you.

As for the family thing, how could you be calling me that when you just met me? If you're going to be my friend, then you have to deal with me at both my best and worst sides. They haven't even seen either of those things. They even had me follow a script on how to recruit people, and the first two people I wanted to recruit were my parents. I told them I could've asked them at home seeing as how I am very comfortable with talking to my parents, but they were so pushy about it that I had to go with the script and call in front of them.

Then there was the fact that they wanted me to find people to recruit within a short amount of time. I have midterms and assignments due, and I have a trip coming up that I'm busy with planning for. Do you really think I would have time to do this? I think not. I was so overwhelmed and then thought back to what my friend was saying about how this was a scam. I read so many reviews about this place and decided that I'm done. There is no way I was going to exploit my friends for money. I'm not that kind of person.

I told them the next day that I didn't want to be a part of Primerica anymore because it was going to interfere with my education. I didn't mention to them that I figured out they were a scam. Then I asked them to meet with me to discuss my termination the day after, and they failed to show up. So because enough was enough, I called them again that same day and told them that they are a scam. They tried to defend it by saying they are legally recognized by the NYSE. So what? There are charities recognized by the CRA and the IRS who do less than legal activities, and you're trying to convince that what you guys do is legal? I also heard that you don't even get paid the amount of money they promised. Thank god I dodged the bullet on this one and didn't stay with it for as I long did. It was honestly a terrible mistake; one that I will never make again.

So I was contacted by a woman a couple of days ago. She was very young... Younger than me and I'm 23. Well at first this was supposed to be her helping me with a financial issue... It then turned out to be a so called interview. I really needed a job and she seemed so genuine. Well she fooled me I guess after ready all the reviews and they say the EXACT SAME THING THAT HAPPENED TO ME. So I went to the meeting. They were very pumped up. A lot of people getting rewards for being top recruiter. Super friendly people. One of the higher guys were on stage saying how they left their life for Primerica and now they are super successful making a lot of money and we can be in their shoes... What kills me is the $99 and $25 they asked for and she was suggesting "Oh you should do the one for $120. That's what I got"...

So the next day she had me write down all my close friends and family... I gave her mostly wrong numbers. Lol. Then had her nerve to call them right off the back!! I couldn't even give them a heads up. Well she called my boyfriend and my boyfriend questioned her. And she says this... "If you don't take this opportunity I don't know if we are going to be hiring any longer..." A big lie!!! So then she called me saying "Oh our leader is very excited and wants you to make 30 appointments in 7 days..." Like really?? Pressure already. I do not normally write reviews but on Ebay or Etsy. However I will make an exception. So I applied on Dec 14th for this job. My best friend and my ex was telling me about this opportunity to earn more money on the side. I was like this cannot be legal, and how can you hire someone that fast? So I went to the interview and they used their little rehearsal speech. Even my best friend cousin (ex) boyfriend was there to "watch" but actually I guess to reassure me that this company is legal. I was shocked about the 99 dollar and 25 dollar fee, but they said with my personality and connections I will get the 300 dollar bonus on top of getting my money return. Then they asked me my goals, I said, "to retire my hardworking parents." Right there, I screwed up. I paid the fees, and gave them a list of names.

When they handed me the list I recall what all my bosses and other friends told me about Primerica. I gave them the list, but I know my of my friends would not buy insurance due to their spending on nerd things and they will not join because of their lives. I did not realize how annoying they are. They text me longgg messages, group me messages, the unnecessary brownie point Sunday conference calls, I am required to go to two major meetings, and two licensing classes that last all day on the weekends. They only mentioned the two classes, I said, "I work in retail. There is no way I can get off on Saturdays." They said they understood.

So anyways, the test was 100 questions. 100 questions! Which is easy, however I told them I don't have that much time to do all this, go to my job and studying GMAT. So I told the main boss, "I am overwhelmed with Primerica and I will be blunt, everyone is telling me it is a pyramid scheme." HIS EYES WENT BULGING, and said I should not be overwhelm, that they are only asking for one day and that I should take those people out of my life. So you want me to take away my family, my work, and my friends to a company I have yet see a dime from? He even said he wanted to be my brother, you just met me sir. You are getting way too close and I will be honest it is creepy to me.

So I stayed again, this would be the 2nd time to last time I will try to quit. I sat thru their meetings, and it was all Joel Osteen quotes, brownie points, and how to get recruits. See I thought I was special, they buttered me up to make me feel like I was special. IT IS THE SAME GAME THEY PLAY WITH EVERYONE! And funny thing is every time I tried to quit, they used the "how about your parents retirement?" Till finally I went off, I don't have time, I like my job, I am an artist and a writer, and I am not stuck. My parents rather me focus on my GMAT and get into school, then overwhelming myself with a job that probably won't pay me.

By the way every month you pay 25 dollars to use their site, it's automatic after you put your card on. They told me but they did not tell my best friend who was hired earlier. I thought you guys said the 125 was the only thing you would charge me with. He also said that even if I don't have connections, my parents have numbers and then their contacts will have number, so on and on. Well you do know black parents right, they won't give out numbers... Especially since my parents are doctors and has been through his pyramid scheme before. My best friend also said they wanted to use her FB to advertise Primerica, they asked me before but I said no. However, I think this is one of the many reasons they want me to stay. They probably already looked up my FB and saw the 2600 friends I have on my list.

I am blunt and honest, I don't like being used and I don't like being lied to. You guys might believe in the company to the point of you being brainwashed but I will never hurt someone I love due to money or advancement. I told you from the beginning I am honest person, and right there you should had known I am the wrong candidate. PS when they finished trying to convince me, he walked back into the room and they all clapped like he won the lottery. I guess it is nice to have an audience while you are playing a role.

I had whole life but the cost was just too much to sustain. We came across Primerica at a local event, talked with them for a few minutes and decided to have them come to our home for a more thorough review. After discussing at length what we needed coverage for we decided on a term life policy for the misses and myself with enough coverage to take of things. I was never really crazy about term life (I used to be an insurance agent many years ago), we decided it was the proper way to go. Very happy with them, friendly agent, recommend them.

I was approached by someone, telling me I seemed like I was really put together. They continued complimenting me by saying how much they liked my personality and I would be such a good fit for their Financial Institute. They continued by asking me if I liked helping people and if I was open to making an extra $1500 a month? After I said yes, they continued with we need to get together and have you interview with our Regional Vice President. I thought this is a great opportunity helping people part time and making an extra $1500 a month.

After paying the $99 to get started, I was told while I was studying for my insurance license they were going to train me. They asked for a list of hot, warm and cold market contacts. After compiling a list of about 75 names and numbers, they began calling and scheduling appointments. I went on about 10 appoints and was told I was trained, now I needed to focus on getting my license. My upline made about $3,000 off of my referrals when I asked if I was going to make anything, "I can't split it with you. You don't have your license." After I got my license I tried to call through my contact list only to have people so mad that I given out their numbers to some pushy stranger. I lost friendships and sales! So, I called my upline rep and she said, "Go and recruit someone like I did with you." NO THANKS!

They pay their claims quickly and has the best renewable options available. You get personalized service from knowledgeable reps. They have a long track record of success, and has been working to help people understand the need for life insurance and how it actually works. Ok so this is my first review and I have to say it's all a scam. First me and my husband went because we were interested in making money. I mean we all want to make money especially when you live paycheck to paycheck. Now we listened to what they had to say and honestly just one big pyramid scheme and after they want a one on one interview. Scheduled it to be nice and it gave me and my husband time to talk about it. Here is where we started flipping out. When u go in they have you fill out a short application. On it is your name, address, former employer, 10 character references.

Ok well after we left we discussed it and decided we would meet with the guy and tell him no cuz we didn't agree with the method. However no sooner did we decide that we started getting phone calls from friends and people we had used as references. Primerica was using our references not to see how we are as people but as a list of people to call and try and recruit. I am sorry but the last time I checked you're not really supposed to do that. Correct me if I am wrong but that is for you to be checked out, make sure a decent person and even how your personality is. To me that is appalling. I am completely disgusted with them and people who are approached should not even give them the time of day.

My husband had signed up for an account with our planner, but the funds were to be taken from my husband's account. We also wanted to begin a savings account for two young family members for them to use for college. We sent two checks, both of which were "misplaced." In January 2015, money was taken each month from my personal checking account, one that was not connected in any way to the account from which the funds were to have been taken. When I asked why the funds are being taken and where the money was going, no one at Primerica was able to tell us. Primerica has no record of any of these transactions and yet my bank statements clearly show that the money had been deducted by Primerica each month. I have sent Primerica all the documents they have requested, have had conference calls with my credit union multiple times, have spoken with representatives and supervisors, have written letters of complaint.

And today, after 11 months, I received the following from POL Tech Support: "To cancel your Primerica Online Subscription, which had started when the initial $99 was paid to have an IBA submitted, you will have to send an email to pol_billing@primerica.com with your Solution ID included to get that processed for you. If wanting to speak with someone on the issue, you can call 888-737-2255 from 9 AM -- 8 PM, Monday -- Saturday EST to speak with a billing agent. The subsciption of Primerica Online was indeed approved with the submission of the IBA and your card information being used for it. The entire basis is covered in the IBA itself, and if it was overlooked, that does not prevent it from still holding true. Thank you." Our Primerica agent says, "We never submitted an IBA." Please counsel us as to what recourse we have with this company. I would be happy to supply copies of my bank statements if necessary.

Regardless of personal opinions either for or against this outfit, the best source of info can be found in their very own annual reports found online. In it you will plainly see that they have recruited well over 1 million in the last 5 years. Doing some quick math you can also calculate that 84% of those recruits left before even obtaining a license, and that over 34% of their licensed reps leave each and every year. It also plainly states that the average number of policies sold per rep is 2.28 FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR. I don't care if a portion of their licensed force is inactive, otherwise why constantly state they're the largest? In truth, even if you sold 10x what the average rep sells, it's still only $2000 in commission for a whole year LESS EXPENSES!

Don't forget you will be asked to attend twice weekly meetings (or about 30 hrs a month), so effectively you're making maybe $6 an hour, not including all your personal selling time. You'll also be pressured into buying a policy for yourself, as well as the $29/month online access fee. The long and short of it is you will break-even at best, while they continue to profit from your sales long after you've left. The entire business operates on employee turnover and is nothing more than a revolving door.

I have been working with this company for a while now, and I don't understand what all the negative comments are about. Don't you guys realize that no company is perfect 100% of the time? Look at FB, Apple, Starbucks, McDonalds, Telus, Bell, Banks! I mean, come on! Do we recruit? Yes, but it's not a dirty word. People don't have a problem with recruiting, they have a problem with BAD recruiting. Are there dumdums in Primerica that misrepresent the company? Obviously. What, your co-workers are all perfect? Can you imagine having your own company with 100,000 representative?

What most people miss out on is what we do RIGHT. We help educate people on the basics of money. Yes, we make a profit, but so does every company out there. The college that you went to made a profit when you paid the ridiculously over-priced tuition fee, and for what? What's that you say? You didn't get a job in your field, or you did and it wasn't all you expected? College is a scam then. That's ridiculous.

Thank God for Primerica. I am able to help educate families (including my own) on how different products work. Without this company, I probably would have been sold a whole life policy (because, if you hadn't guessed it already, while life agents make them sound so good, barf) and been investing in a 1.25% ROR at the bank. This company gave me a shot. If you're thinking of Primerica as a career, give it a shot. The worst case scenerio is you learn a bunch about money for yourself. Best decision I ever made. After seeing the rating and reading numerous reviews of Primerica and then seeing the ratings and reading numerous reviews of other insurance companies on this site, I find it very interesting that the primary complaints against Primerica have to do with recruiting and selling, but not with the products. All the other companies have complaint after complaint about problems with the products they sell and with how their benefits are delivered. This is not the case with Primerica. I believe this an important difference to pay attention to if you are researching Primerica. In fact they were just listed on the Forbes list of the 50 Most Trustworthy Financial Companies in America.

Is being a rep a lot of hard work? Yes. Are there people you may not like in recruiting positions? Of course. Is there a lot to learn about the products that are sold? Definitely (life, health, auto and home insurance, mutual funds, and more). Do they provide training? Yes and lots of it if you want to learn - both in seminars and online. Do they offer a regular, guaranteed salary? Not unless you work in the home office in Duluth, GA. But can you make as much money as you're willing to work for as a rep? And can you make passive, residual income? Absolutely! I see it all the time. The choice is really about having an entrepreneurial spirit and actually learning about the products you are selling and how they benefit the people you are selling them to.

I was first introduced to Primerica more than 30 years ago when it was still A.L. Williams. At the time I thought it was a pyramid scheme (which it is not, or it would not be listed on NASDAQ), so I decided not to work there. I always focused on the negative about the company and not the positive. Today I would be a millionaire many times over and I would have helped many, many families financially, if I had started working with them back then. Check out the ratings and reviews of other financial institutions here. I think you'll see that they are mostly from disgruntled policyholders and not people who just didn't like the sales pitch or the way some Primerica agents recruit their reps. Primerica is much more complex and genuine than that.

I can relate to many of the fears and doubts some consumers have posted here. In 2013 my daughter was invited to an opportunity meeting and I was invited to come with her. It started at 7:30pm. I thought it was so strange to have a meeting for work at night. But I wanted to support my daughter so I went. The information that was presented was life changing. I had a 401K at work but I had no idea how it worked or how any of my investments and life insurance worked. I signed up with the company to get the education. I had a good stable job at the time so I was not looking for another job.

I went home that night and I "Googled" Primerica just like most of you because I had never heard about the company. I did see a lot of negative comments saying that it was a scam and pyramid, and I ALMOST quit before giving this opportunity a chance. I was ready to call and cancel my application. THANK GOD I did not. I started thinking that the negative comments online were probably from lazy people with no hopes and ambitions of something better in life, and didn't give themselves the opportunity to learn and get licensed. By them saying that it didn't work for them, they were in essence telling me that they were better than me. And that if it did not work for them, it was not going to work for me either. Thank God I had common sense to do my own credible research and not rely on the negative comments of strangers online.

If this were a Scam or Pyramid, why is it a REQUIREMENT to have a State and Federal Investment License? Why do we need to have clean background records? Why do we need to be legal in the United States? Also, why does the company have an A+ on the Better Business Bureau? Also, Scam and Pyramids do not publicly trade on the New York Stock Exchange (PRI) which is a highly, highly regulated industry. I thank God every day for giving me the common sense to do CREDIBLE research for myself. And yes the people that are in the business are excited, happy and energized because of what we do for families. We get them out of debt, get them out of bad insurance plans and help them have more money for retirement. Please use your common sense when looking into this business and any other business.

And by the way, when people say that we are a "Pyramid", it just shows their lack of understanding of how a business model works. Picture this at your "JOB", is there an Owner or CEO at the top running the company? Is there Managers or Supervisors under them? Is there Administrative and Accounting Personnel under them? Are there laborers / field people under them? See, this looks like a Pyramid but it's a business model. I hope this has been helpful. Please DON'T LET ANYONE STEAL YOUR DREAMS. And if you're really interested in credible research, Forbes Magazine just came out with the "Top 50 Most Trustworthy Companies", we got the highest rating possible. Look it up.

Primerica is a Company for people with big goals and dreams and the desire to help others in the process while reaching financial freedom. If that is you, then give yourself the opportunity to really learn how amazing this business is. If this were a scam or pyramid the last thing we would want is for you to join our business and expose us. Seriously guys, do your due diligence and don't let anyone rob you of the opportunity that will change your life. God Bless you all.

She wanted to know how my client base was so that I could "tap" into that if I fell for her pitch. I would never ever conduct business in such a shady manner.

I asked her exactly what is that she does. Sell insurance? Oh no, she "educates people". HUH? "So how do you make money?" "Oh, you offer them a policy." Working for Primerica is not for everyone, but based on my experience they are doing what is right as company, working to help the 99% become better off, allowing families the chance to have access to sound financial advice at no cost to them. Primerica is teaching them how money works and why they need to start investing as soon as possible to be financially stable and not dependent in their twilight years.

The work is hard because people have been taken advantage of and are seriously skeptical of your motives. Most people can't believe that a company actually wants to help them and their families and will work tirelessly to do so. Now this can not be said for each individual that works for Primerica. Just like every other financial company I have worked for over the last 10 years (Wells Fargo, US Bank, Performant Recovery, Umpqua Bank) you have people who are not informed making poor recommendations and looking at their own pocket books instead of the clients. I have found in my experience that these people are far from the majority and are quickly snuffed out.

I really love this company and the companies they work with. The reason Primerica is always looking for more reps is because Primerica is a distribution company. They don't just work with one company but several; MetLife, Franklin Templeton, Lincoln Financial, GenWorth, ING... and on and on and on... If you want a real good review look up PRIMERICA PARTNERS.

This company has delivered everything they told me from day one. You get out of it what you put in it. If you're a go-getter it's for you. If you're looking for a job because you're not self motivated and you need someone to tell you what to do, look elsewhere. You might ask them if they have a clerical position open. They need office help from time to time as well. Nothing but great success. I love it!

This is a warning to anyone considering being a rep for Primerica. My experience was in Phoenix, AZ in 2012. I went to a job fair and was approached by a Primerica rep as I was about to leave in the parking lot. A little background... I'm one of many who were hit hard by the crash of 2008 and other traumatic life events (laid off in 2008, lost my house to foreclosure in 2009, my wife of 27 years was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2010 and died in 2011). So needless to say I was desperate and vulnerable to any lure of employment. I attended this intro meeting and long story short, I joined by paying whatever the fees were and immediately took the training and passed the state licensing exam in what I was told was a record time as I was eager and in serious need to have income.

Then the reality of the "job" set in. I'm embarrassed in how I scammed people into sitting through a presentation under the pretense of helping me practice in starting my new career endeavor. I lost friends because of this. The same thing happened to me years ago with Amway. I guess I didn't recognize that I was getting into a similar yet legal scam. One of the suggestions to get leads was to go to a local mall and approach strangers. I spent a lot of time at meetings which were supposed to be motivational but had an air of scolding us for not reaching prescribed goals.

The lead at the meetings was the regional manager who supposedly managed to be quite successful but had what seemed to be a strong reliance on recruitment to maintain and grow his personal business. At the time I was in my late fifties and should have at least known this wasn't for me and even more that this is a Multi-Level Marketing prospect which in my opinion is a pyramid "opportunity". I despise how MLM's like Primerica are structured and I really don't believe they should be considered legal. My suggestion is don't fall for their fast talk about working for yourself and independence unless you don't need an income and you just want to belong to a self-stroking group boosting the upper level reps. RAH RAH RAH!

I have been doing Primerica part-time for a few months now and I have no complaints. However, one day after things were particularly tough, I decided to go online and look for an excuse to quit. This website was the first thing that popped up. First off, very few of these reviews are about the products and services themselves and the ones that are, are fake because Primerica doesn't even offer these types of policies. The majority of the reviews on here are by people who didn't even try the business or tried it, could not do it, and are projecting their failure on others. Primerica is not a get-rich-quick scheme or scam. For others, it seems like you ended up in a crappy office or being serviced by a not-so-great agent.

In truth, reading these reviews motivated me to work even harder. Primerica has changed my entire outlook on life and finances, and I am truly grateful. There are MANY successful, amazing, motivating people in my office (Santa Ana) and they give me hope that one day I will be able to life that they lead. If you are thinking about being an agent, don't let lazy people on the internet that are not willing to bust their ass to get ahead influence you. Please give Primerica a chance and judge for yourself. You'll be glad you did!

I NEVER write reviews, so please trust me when I say I am that heated over this company. BUT, I got in the last word. First they got me in there under a customer service/administrative assistant ad - either one, not sure. ANYWAY, I expected an interview, I was a few minutes late and that was ok, but imagine my nervousness when I was led into a very expensively decorated room full of people. Well about 10 people and a guy very well dressed already giving a training session. I knew right away this was telemarketing… So I thought. Needing a job I stayed for a minute and thought maybe I could do telemarketing for just a few weeks. No this wasn't telemarketing. I couldn't even tell if I was being considered for a job or being sold something with this whole presentation. They were discussing insurance and what people in life need, and all this crap, that at my age, "just tell me what the job" is already I was thinking.

I decided to stay because as I looked around the room it was full of people much younger than myself and they all giggled at his jokes, answered his questions like we were in a classroom and I was amazed to see that this guy had this room of people hypnotized. SO I HAD TO WATCH THIS OUTCOME, lol. Ya see, I just stared at the guy, never nodding or raising my hand or smiling cause at this point I was fuming mad at the waste of my time and thought, "oh I am gonna get them back good." I was just waiting for the perfect opportunity. Now this speech lasted between two guys about 45 minutes and they briefly skimmed over the $100.00 FEE YOU HAVE TO PUT UP. They brushed it off as a background check and financing your license. Oh but "tell us if you have a criminal history cause we are doing a background check."

Really, did he just say this. Ummmm that is exactly what a background check is for isn't it, so you know if I'm a criminal. This told me they were NOT going to do a background check or if for legal purposes they had to, it would be the five dollar one that just verifies your address or something. SO ANYWAY, my opportunity finally arrived to get them good. At the end of the presentation they said "fill out this questionnaire while we do individual interviews." With that he left the room. So I said aloud, "Hey guys, how many of you came here because of a customer service ad or something?" And it started the ball rolling. They were like, "yea mine said" and so and so.

SO I said to them respectfully, "Because I am older than you guys I am letting you know this is a pyramid scheme to get your money. First of all, if a company wants to do a background check on you that's their bill not yours and if it is yours you pay for it after you're hired from your check." And one kid stood up and thanked me, looked at me in the eye and sincerely was happy I said that. He said he thought that's what this was but wasn't sure. With that, he said "I'M OUT" and walked out mad, lol. Then I politely told the rest of the room I was going as well. "Good luck to you all for future jobs," and I left. On my way out I noticed there were other rooms with groups doing the same thing. Can you imagine, 10-15 people in 3 rooms every night at 100.00 dollars per person. That's a very nice income Primerica, but thankfully you can't ** a ** and I can smell it before you even try to sell it, lol.

When I was the guy asked if he could talk to me and asked why I was leaving. It became quite amusing actually as I told him I don't know how they got me there but I'm a qualified professional in my area and I'm looking for a job, not this and with all the talking, we laughed cause he knew he didn't have me. And even after all that he asked if I had a family, maybe we needed insurance. I burst out laughing and clapped my hands at him and he laughed. And I said "Really, what is that my care package for coming in. Are you seriously still trying to sell me something?" And he laughed and said "nah it's not like that" and I said "Yea it is like that. Nice meeting ya. Good luck, take care." It's funny because what I got out of it was positive. I learned something about myself, that you can't put bull by me so fast and when I see it I stand up for what's right, and when confronted I have the confidence to stand up for what's right.

Please don't give these people your money, it's just a great bunch of actors well dressed doing things by the book so they can't go to jail. Trust me, they are making huge amounts of money even going by the book. That book is cheap. Your hundred dollars times ten people in 3 rooms every night for a years is a great income, keep it in your hand. Primerica, you can kiss my you know what cause at least I told those people in my room what they were up to. Maybe they still fell for it, but maybe, just maybe I sparked them to ask questions and so did the young man who shook my hand and walked out. That was one group of ten people who we kept from supporting your corrupt business!!!

I didn't know anything about this company until a few days ago when I just had to look them up. See, my boyfriend and I were shopping at a very popular retail store on a Saturday afternoon when we were approached by this man asking if we know "where they kept the belts". We both pointed over to that area and like a normal person you would think he would have turned and walked away. NO. He stood there and continued to talk to us. The whole time we stood there I kept thinking, when is he gonna get to the point bc I know he has one. Well he did have a point.... He wanted to know if we or anyone we knew was looking for financial help or a job. ZING!! There it is. I knew it. He told us who he worked for and I told him I wasn't interested and started to walk away. Well my boyfriend is much more polite than that and stood and spoke with him, but wasn't interested either.

I have seen these types of companies before... I'm not going to call it a pyramid but that's exactly what it felt like. I mean you're willing to hire someone you meet in a retail store. I felt bad for the guy because he doesn't have a chance. It was an uncomfortable and awkward conversation. The part that bothered me the most was where he chose to do his "selling". I can't imagine that any reputable company would tell their employees to go solicit people while they are out and about running errands and enjoying their day. Don't be conned and don't be fooled. This kind of business practice is not ok. It's not ethical and I'm sure if this certain retailer had been aware of it they would have put a stop to it. Just beware.

PRIMERICA PRIMERICA PRIMERICA. THIS IS MY EXPERIENCE and if you NEED HELP, HERE IS WHAT YOU DO. I do NOT write reviews. But Primerica is a pyramid scheme. Hands down. I went through many interviews and went through the usual process of checking their facts. People I know had heard of them, relatives had insurance through them, etc etc. I was hired as an office manager. Long story short I gave the man who hired me the benefit of the doubt. I'm a smart person, however don't give these people the benefit of the doubt. I should have known and in my gut I did. I was told I would be trained and licensed during a 6-8 week internship after which I would move onto full time. He asked me what my pay rate was at my current job and we discussed money in terms of what I would need to leave my job. I assumed he were talking hourly pay, even acknowledging there was some commission involved as well.

The night I went for my "game plan" I luckily found myself in the wrong interview where they fed a room full of people the same business model, plan, and information I had already been fed. However they failed to show the truth- they failed to show me the video describing how their business model really worked through a pyramid, how it was EXPENSIVE to get the job you want, and how Primerica is an investment. Before I was hired, I was not shown this. Only did I see this upon stumbling into the wrong meeting. Somehow within twenty minutes I went from being an office manager to being a wannabe franchisee. They even went as far as to asking when would it be a decent day to talk to my spouse. Hmm.

I wandered into the meeting I was actually invited to and came to find it was a podium with walls built around it, and rows of chairs containing ridiculously charismatic "reps" who exploited their own contact list -their mother, brother, a father of their child's school acquaintance for favors- all in hopes of owning their own office before 2025. The best part of my experience was when the man who hired me got congratulated on passing some of his training, he held no rank within the company and was just some guy who signed me on.

Primerica's insurance services may be legitimate, rated best with whomever, with an A rating on this or that, but do not give them your time when it comes to your promised employment. It is no internship, it is a voluntary waste of time. If you have fallen for this (within a number of days) call your bank, cancel all fees they may have obtained when they got a hold of your information. Report them to your bank as fraudulent and makes sure you take every step necessary for getting your hard-earned money back. Their "background checks" -for running through four different "government agencies"- aren't background checks. $39 is a non-refundable processing fee that goes straight to and your "hiring" mangers' pocket.

Call (770)-381-5885 and press 0 until you speak with a representative. They will tell you the truth. $39 may not be refundable but if you were to take any of their "licensing" classes, the full $99 is not refundable. That refundable $69 can make or break your rent if that's what it comes down to. Don't trust this company, $39+$69 does not equal $99. You might think a financial company could do math. Yet this is what the woman told me on the phone. Then, call (888)-737-2255 and make sure they haven't charged you for their programming POL, CANCEL it. They will send you email confirmations for both actions.

Do not give people the benefit of the doubt, I usually don't give anyone an inch. DO NOT AGREE to anything they say, DO NOT BELIEVE anything they tell you, and DO NOT give them an inch or minute. DO NOT decide that within their interviewing process you are suddenly going to believe in people or take a stranger's word as a credible statement when you have never done so before. Learn from my mistake and my one vulnerable moment of believing in what someone is feeding you. You know better, as did I. Don't make the same mistake. Primerica is a scheme.

I have read several accounts where people saw a job posting on Craigslist. This is not how Primerica works. I have been with the company for a little over a month. I was recruited by a long time friend who is also a rep. I met my friend for an appointment at a location of my choosing. He went over the presentation showing me who they are, what they do and asked me if I could benefit from any of the services they provide or if I would be interested in working with him. I joined a few days later. There is no "fee" to join.

The state requires a license for Financial services. This license costs about $600, finger printing is required as part of a background check which costs $45, the training for the license can cost upwards of $500. Primerica asks you to pay the first $99 and they take care of the rest. If you get licensed with Primerica and later leave the company, the license is still yours. Don't respond to ads on Craigslist offering a job. This is not part of the recruitment process.

We contacted Primerica within 2 weeks of my father's death and was told that the benefits were not paid out as they should, but rather rolled into a policy of our own. What a rip-off. What is the point of paying your hard-earned money for a life insurance policy for your spouse or children, only to have the life insurance company attempt to find a loophole to get out of paying as they should and to find a way to, in the end, keep the monies to themselves.

IDK if anyone knows this but pyramid schemes are highly illegal and that's definitely not what Primerica is. People who say it doesn't work were either mistrained under the improper circumstances and don't know much about the business themselves. They are highly regulated by the FTC, FINRA, and SEC, so I'm pretty sure the company doesn't mess around and provide people with scams. And also, they don't just offer life insurance, they are a financial services company and they help out people in such amazing ways.

I just started a few weeks ago and i made like $400 so from helping people out with financial services that benefit them rather than are not beneficial for them whatsoever such as selling knives or candles (stuff they don't need) and I felt amazing. "Scam me again Primerica because I like money" LOL. New Jersey has one of the best offices and I speak with millionaires every week. No other financial company has the most $100,000 earners I guarantee you that. It really depends on how the office near you works, how your trainer is coaching you, and whether you're putting in the work yourself. If you work hard enough at it, you'll become successful. You can't always trust what's on the internet to be true. Look at Wikipedia, a lot of it is from random people off the internet. You have to know the source. My source is from word of mouth which is the best and from people I personally know and care about me.

Don't trust what people say because they never truly believed in it or were not shown the proper way. I'm certified in home and auto insurance as well as licensed with a producer for life insurance too. I say try it out and see where it takes you. if it's not for you, you can always go back to it, they're not gonna fire you. It's gonna be hard retiring wealthy or OK as that 5% who are most likely business owners because JOBS don't cut it anymore. The cost of living always going up (inflation) and the wages not growing along with it is gonna keep everyone Just Over Broke and making them want to Jump Over a Bridge. LOL.

I don't know what else to say but I know what I'm doing and what I'm talking about is true. Don't believe all the negative people who did it and didn't even get their license. That's why they didn't make any money with it. And if you're willing to do the work and what it takes, you WILL be one of those 100,000+ earners in the company. Nothing is impossible.

Before I decided to write this, I was browsing through the comments others have written. I was just shaking my head in amazement at how messed up some people are. Sorry of the problems you have encountered with representatives of Primerica. But every company has people who are not the best at what they do. You could search the internet for complaints against many Fortune 500 companies and find pages of complaints. That does not mean the company is bad. The same is true with Primerica.

I ran into a Primerica agent about 15 years ago at a State Fair booth in Arizona. I had just recently been married and thought it would be a good idea to consider having some life insurance so I made an appointment. Prior to my appointment I did a little research and made a few comparisons. I listened to their presentation and what they had to offer, after which I told them I needed to think about it. She asked me if 30 days was enough time to think about it. I told her sure. She explained to me that there was a 30-day cancellation policy and all I had to do was pay the first months premium of about $70 for $300,000 coverage on me and $200,000 on my wife and $25,000 on each of our 6 kids, and we would be fully covered immediately as long as there were no medical issues found during underwriting. So we signed up and now 15 years later we are still insured.

I had read a comment from a person who had Primerica insurance paying $75-80 a month for 20 years then cancelled the policy saying the premiums were going up. I suspect you have no idea how insurance works. You should compare Whole Life insurance costs vs Term and then see how much you would have paid for the same or less coverage. Primerica teaches buy term and invest the difference. If you do that there is NO Whole Life insurance Policy on the planet that will put more money in your pocket.

After I purchased my Term policy with Primerica, I compared a similar coverage policy with a few other companies. 1 company selling Term and 2 selling Whole Life. The Term policy was similar but the Whole life offered half the coverage for much more money. And the BS of have cash value is just that BS if you die, you don't get the cash value, you only get the coverage amount. If you borrow the Cash Value from the policy they actually charge you interest until you pay it back. The Whole Life / Universal Life setup is a total RIPOFF.

After having Primerica Insurance for a while, I took them up on their opportunity to make some extra money on the side helping others gain a better understanding on finances. I spent 6-8 years helping others on a part-time basis. I had a good job at the time. I learned a great deal about finances that has changed my life forever.

For you people who think that Primerica is a scam. Well I am sorry to burst your bubble but they are a very legitimate company who have helped and continues to help thousands of Americans in a non-traditional way. They have stood up against the insurance giants to change the landscape of the insurance market in America. In the late 70's when Art Williams created this company they had to fight tooth and nail against the big insurance companies who were trying to shut them down. Today, the smart money is on term insurance and invest the difference.

I thank Primerica for the education I received about financial matters and as opposed to the lack of education about finances in our school system. I am now a business owner and have my own company. I attribute a portion of my success to what I learned in the years I spent with Primerica. I highly recommend Primerica Term Insurance and even if you never have a desire to work for them, you could gain a great financial education simply by attending some of their training classes. Wishing you all much Success.

I have been with Primerica for about a year. I worked for another large Insurance/Financial company prior to Primerica. I found that every large company recruits, helps get people licensed and field trains - No different than Primerica. The only difference is that Primerica allows for each employee to recruit, train and build their own team. Like a real estate broker builds a house for residual income, so can I. When I worked with the other company, I would REFER someone to my manager who would hire them. Then once they were trained, they became my competition. I love how Primerica is demonized for wanting to offer an opportunity to someone who could use extra cash. I never say to anyone "This is a job" or "This is an interview". I give people an option if they want to help others get out of debt, become protected and plan for their retirement. Just like I did when I was with this other LARGE Financial company.

YES, it is only commission. YES, I can do it part time and earn extra cash. YES, we only offer Term insurance. A concept that Dave Ramsey and Suze Orman both believe in, buy term and invest the difference. But why am I wasting my time? People with think what they want. I know I feel great when I leave a home, knowing I helped a family get protected in the event something happens and their debt is taken care of and helped them plan for retirement. Not everyone is a recruit. Oh by the way, Forbes in 2015 just named Primerica as one of fifty most trustworthy companies.

In 5 yrs now we are debt free, house paid off, build the dream house worth 800k with cash and got Primerica ring, meaning making over 100k per year.

That's our story - unlike of person who quit after first interview or first appointment. So if you are taught to become a businessmen we have a system that works but if you are a quitter then don't even waste your time. Do something else. You would be happy with average life and 9-5 job. We thank God and Primerica everyday for changing our life and our legacy.

I became a Primerica client 4 years ago, and I just love its financial plan. I was also recruited, but never really committed to work with them because I was going to college to became a teacher. I graduated but since finding a teaching job is not as easy as they tell you in college I recruited myself again into Primerica. Meanwhile I founded a job. Months went by and I couldn't find a teaching job, but I ended falling in love for what I do for my clients because I really feel I educate them about their finances. Besides educating is my profession. Yes you have to recruit but in our office we don't force anyone. We actually just offer the opportunity to the ones that say yes without second thoughts.

The company is great and its services even better but all at depends in the office you end up. Our RVP or uplines actually make us read and educate ourselves about our products. We take it very seriously especially because most of us are unemployed college graduates that preferred to stay with Primerica. I just love reading bad comments because they motivate me more. I am sorry for those that ended in the wrong office and to those who didn't stay - it's Normal to quit something that is not easy. Many of my college freshman classmates didn't made it to graduation because it was intense.. Ps. Excuse my grammar but I made it quick in my phone.

You work, the VP earn. That's pretty much it. I think Primerica can be a great company if it was not pyramidal. Thanks.

I know nothing about life insurance. When Primerica (wife of the agent) had me signed my policy in 1995, she did not disclose that at the end of 20 years, premium would increase & have no cash value. I was not informed that at the end of 20 years, premium would go up to more than 200% per month (from $79.85 to $218 for one policy, thereby increasing every ten years). Had the agent been honest and disclosed the truth, I would have cancelled it right away. She never explained nor gave me an idea about term or whole life insurance. Agent was not honest in disclosing the truth. She took advantage of my ignorance. Obviously, agent misled me as she was only after her commission. She never called again to follow up.

This is a total rip off. I have paid a total of $30,436.91 for two policies. For your information, I cancelled both as I can't afford to continue paying the outrageous premiums. I live on a fixed income. I would appreciate if Primerica would return my money for being dishonest and misleading to customers. I need your expertise and help. Thank you and God bless!

I have had a number of interviews in my lifetime and this one left me feeling weird. After reading some of the reviews, I have come to the conclusion that this was a fake interview. Wow what a revelation. It seems that Google has Primerica located all over the city of Milwaukee. Let me search for some real jobs.

A Primerica worker (family member of mine) talked me into getting life insurance (very pushy) with them. I signed and was suppose to be the owner of my own policy (being that I was in my 30's). My mom had also gotten life insurance with this same company around the same time. To make long story short... after about two weeks of waiting for my policy to come in the mail, which never did come, to find out the agent who signed me and my mom up, ended up putting my mom over my policy against my wishes.

Instead of her making the correction she lied to her higher up telling them "it's what she thought I wanted" despite the numerous times of me telling her I wanted to be over my own policy like any other adult would. Then she was also suppose to add the rider on my policy so I could add my children and she refused. So I called to do a complaint and after proving all that I could prove during the investigation, I was told that the policy was accepted in good faith and that the agent has never had a complaint before. This company allowed this and it's not right!!!

I was contacted by one of their reps wanting me to work for them, I was told they were an educational company teaching people how to handle their money, that they did seminars. At first I was not interested but later saw a job posting on craigslist and decided to look into it - in neither contact did they say the name of the company so I could not check them out ahead of time. I had to drive a very long way for the appointment, after the fact when I knew their name I found out there was an office just a couple of miles from me. Not nice to make people waste their expensive gas but once I knew their game plan I knew that this person was trying to collect people for their particular office so they never would have divulged if there was an office closer to me anyway.

The moment they started the presentation I knew I had been misinformed and was not happy, and I called the agent on that baloney right off the bat - they are not an educational company giving seminars to teach people how to manage their money, they are a financial services company and you only go to talk to people, give presentations, to try to sell to them. You are not paid to educate people in any way whatsoever. She lamely said, "We do give presentations." Yeah, to try and get clients - no one learns anything and again you do not get paid to do it anyway - not an educational company at all. Reading other people's complaints about how they were ripped off for classes etc. I want to say to anyone who really does want to work for an insurance/investment company on commission, no one will charge you for your training or for a background check.

Really legit companies, and I have been approached by some of the best, give you your training and help you get certified. NO FEES!!! NOT EVER!!! Someone starts talking fees and you have to pay for your classes or anything else head for the door, hang up the phone. If a good company wants to hire you, if you pass their application process, they take care of you and do everything they can for you because they want you to succeed. They will never take a dime from you. It may not be illegal for Primerica to charge people for things but again the best companies will not do that. A company who does that does not have faith in you. If it doesn't work out they don't care that much because they have already made money off of you even without a sale. If you are working on commission why should you ever pay for anything the company is supposed to provide? Think about it.

I wasn't ripped off because I was informed about how these things are supposed to be handled and I also am not seeking a commission job. They just wasted my time and gas by not being honest or giving me the company name so I could check them out ahead of time. If I had I would have cancelled the appointment. Them telling me they were an educational company that does seminars to help people manage their money was just a lie. For such a job if hired I had expected to receive training to give real seminars that people pay to attend.

I decided to do this posting because today I received an email from one of their reps to call them about a possible job - this time however, they gave the company name and I have declined. If they hadn't given the name I would have insisted on it before further discussion. Primerica and marketing companies have been the only ones who have not been honest in their dealings with me as a possible applicant. Needless to say I also avoid every marketing company in my job hunting process.

I was scouted by a rep from this company in order to teach people how to speak and present information for presentation purposes like a team leader would. I set up the interview and the guy was really nice, explained what they were about (kind of) but it seemed too good to be true, which was the case. After I accepted the job and set everything up was when I learned I would be selling insurance pretty much which was not what I wanted at all. I was supposed to be teaching people how to make good presentations. Learned this after I paid the $125 for my certification classes and for my portal. I let the guy know right away after the interview via phone that I had another job offering and I wanted to take that instead. He kept insisting that I called him so I didn't make any "rash decisions".

It took quite a few times to say no and for him to accept the answer no. So while they are a legit company and actually pretty nice it's very misleading their scout searches tell you what they are looking for compared to what they really need. Now I'm out the money I paid for classes I didn't even attend yet and I'm hoping this whole Wolf of Wall Street mess goes away! I would never work for a company like this in a million years based on so little information and so much misleading. Waste of time.

First off and foremost, Primerica isn't a scam!! However, they are a baby insurance company (nearly around 50 years) that are not showing people the best side of insurance planning. The "buy term invest the difference" strategy they religiously go by isn't wise for many. Knowingly in our society people don't save properly. Also, Primerica agents will not specify the taxes involved. Realistically, term isn't for everyone as well as whole life isn't either. I've had the opportunity to meet with agents in this company to recruit me. Lovely people indeed, but they're heavily misinformed about their standing as an insurance company.

All you have to do when you meet an agent from Primerica is ask them what's the company's financial rating (standard and poor, AM Best, Mood). See what they come up with. There are amazing reps at Primerica and there are terrible ones, same as even the best insurance companies. Truth of the matter is what are the facts. They can't argue that even with their top guy. Where I work now I also took my life and health (they're only life) and I had the background check, took a personality assessment, went through training, and was sent off in the field. My company PAID ME completing all of that. I never released a dime. And oh yeah btw, I work for Northwestern Mutual. Ask about us!!!

A little before she became real sick - she let her policy lapse but was able to reinstate her policy. Paying her life insurance was important to her because her sister died 3 years before and failed to pay her life insurance before she became real ill, and ultimately left no money to cover her funeral. People can get real ill and can neglect to pay important bills.

Primerica has made it hell for her children to collect on the policy and it is now July 2015. They've investigated and are alleging that my aunt knew she had cancer all along but neglected to disclose it. She did not know. She had regular appointments and none of her doctors diagnosed her with cancer prior to December. Her kids may have to wait for the 2-year Contestability Clause to pass. It's awful for my cousins to have to wait so long. It's bad enough she succumbed to her illness so quickly and it's still very hurtful for her children to not be able to put closure in the situation and have a lingering $13,000 funeral bill they can't pay.

This isn't really a scam, but it's a commission based sales company. So what do you expect the associates to do? Not try to sell their products? The point is that they aren't there for your best interests, they are there for their best interests. So go with a fiduciary fee based financial advisor instead and avoid this company. They say they give a free financial consultation and work through your budget with you but the guys I met with screwed up my budget and clearly didn't really care about it. Just wanted to get to the sales pitch.

Also I was stressed over my pension plan and wanted to discuss my options with them as far as retirement goes but they were only focused on getting me to invest in their mutual funds. It is what it is. And that is a company that sells mildly expensive insurance and gives ok advice about investments. So do this instead. Get an ira at vanguard or fidelity and take advantage of their financial advisors. And if you want your portfolio examined go to a fiduciary advisor.

And two, just because you had a bad recruiter don't mean that Primerica as a whole is bad and most people are so stuck on the broke track and thirsty for instant fame and riches that they don't want to put the work in to get there. I love this company and working for them is the best. Idc what money I can make at other companies because it's not about the money, it's about helping people and teaching people how to work for themselves. Half of the people I see don't even get pass the point of rep or stay long enough to get any results. And if they do they are stuck in a sales rep mentality. It's not about that, it's about team building.

If you follow the system it rewards you. If you break it, it will break you. To be honest half of the people who was pushy or didn't care about the business filtered out or is stuck not really making money. Do proper research and think for yourself. If you don't want to work for your freedom don't join this business. With that being said I'll see you at the top. PS I'm going to my first convention, too. So stoked. I get to meet the brain trust of this company and learn from them. Tell me any other company that does that... I'll wait. Right, they don't. For $99 I changed my life and future is looking bright. I have the best coaches, too. Beats working a dead end job any day. No need to go into the facts, they clearly tell you in the opp meeting and if they don't that's not the office for you.

Same as Bankers, Humana, etc... they are just trying to make a living by getting your money. No regard too for truth or integrity, those thing are optional. To be a successful agent you must sell your honor and soul and be willing to convince others that you are looking out for their best interest. Get the check before they realize that they have forever been swayed to the dark side and are ashamed they were blinded faith and hope. I myself was taken for several hundred and time that I will never get back. I even went as far as getting my license and passed the state exam. I have another job so he's all mean and didn't want to work with me. So a couple days later I text him "I don't wanna be in it" and he tells me "Why?" and I just ask for my refund but he won't give it to me so naturally I tell him to stay in his place and give me my money. He said "No" and now I will be seeing ** in court.

Wow! I'm surprise how people write a review without doing their research first about this company. How could you call a company like Primerica a scam when it is publicly traded in New York Exchange Stock under federal securities law? Primerica is publicly traded under symbol PRI in NYE Stock since 2010. It means they follow all the requirements under federal securities laws. Do your research before you write unjustified reviews just because people express their opinions that doesn't mean it's true. Primerica doesn't have any complaints about not paying the claim or law suits against them.

If Primerica is a scam, how come they are still under NYE for 5 years now. Some of the review here is just opinion and there is no proof to justify their comments claiming it is a scam. Know the facts about the credential of Primerica first before you call it a scam! There are other financial services out there that has public judgments against them but not Primerica. There is no track record of them getting any law suits. I do agree about some of the agents for Primerica can be pushy and unprofessional on how they would approach people. It can be better but it really depends on the individual. It's not Primerica's fault and it doesn't make the company a SCAM! Just like if you order a burger at McDonald's and you found some hair in your burger does it mean that all McDonald's are unsanitized and will sell burgers that has hair on it, of course not!

I feel sorry for those people who has bad experience from other agents but not all agents are like that. I've been with Primerica for about 5 months now but I have not approach strangers and tried to recruit them, I make sure I create a relationship with the person I wanted to recruit. I don't want a total stranger joining my team. I never push anyone to switch their life insurance to ours but I do let them see our products and without commitment, if they like what they see or heard then that's great! My team has never approach anyone at the stores, restaurants or other public places, to me it's scary to work with someone I have no idea who they are.

The reason for recruiting people is to give people an opportunity and helping them to make extra income while building a team. If people weren't successful that's because they didn't put any time and effort to it. Remember, being an Entrepreneur you control your own income the way you want to. Just like any other businesses you will earn on how much effort and time you put into it. You are not an employee by Primerica but you represents Primerica as Entrepreneur. You need state license to introduce the products to public so those people that stated Primerica is a scam is not true. You are mandated to get a STATE LICENSE to sell life insurance with extensive background check, Primerica will not associate with anyone who has felony on their record.

"PRIMERICA IS NOT A SCAM". 1. We are publicly traded in NYE Stock Exchange under federal laws. 2. We are mandated state license for life insurance and securities license for investments. 3. We are networking company. You need to recruit to expand your business just like working in the corporate world, they hire people to expand. THESE ARE THE FACTS NOT JUST SOME OPINIONS!

I've read some of the reviews and the beauty of it is WE ARE the only company that only markets 1 product when it comes to insurance. We are the only people that also have 35 yr term. We are not the cheapest but our riders and renewal rates are superior. Honestly some people are not ready to go off on their own and speak with clients. It is NOT A SCAM. I paid 99 dollars for my background check. I got through my training and class I received a 300 dollar bonus. I then passed my life insurance test and made 1100 dollars my first month. I myself had a whole life policy for 20 thousand that I payed 30 bucks a month for.

After I was educated in the difference between term and whole life I then got a 400 thousand dollar policy for 77 dollars. With work I now have 3 agents and I am able to have the goal to open my own office soon. If you want to know about us talk to someone who has actually done the business and stuck around long enough to see the end result. We signed up for life insurance and within a week my mother in law and sister in law signed up for life insurance, investment portfolio, & the training program to states working with them! There were several flags & I had a bad taste in my mouth from signing up. I decided to ask around & research. My understanding is that the product isn't the best & we could get a better product going directly to my insurance company & investment company. So I decided to cancel my policy.

Immediately they turned defensive & wanted to talk to whoever was talking bad about their company & demand they face them in person?! I explained that I wanted to cancel my policy & however I made my decision was irrelevant. They made a big deal that they weren't scamming us & that to be a good friend we should meet & try to answer any concerns. It wasn't personal but they made it personal. They were frustrated & pushy. Finally he agreed to cancel our policy. I then told him I needed to know how to cancel & get a refund since I had already been charged even if we hadn't been approved. He said he'd need to come in person & made arrangements for the next day.

It's now been over a week & they have not answered our calls or texts! This is BS! I had to call customer service 4 different occasions just to finally talk to someone! But with OUR policy, all you have to do is have the policy for 2 years, then 2 years and one day after if you decide to god forbid commit suicide, your family gets all the money" (I was shocked by that statement, are you that desperate to sell insurance to say that to people, what if you said that to someone mentally unstable and that would plant a seed in their mind, ok all I have to do is wait 2 years and 1 day to kill myself to take care of my family.) Then he went on to invite my husband to the "event" where he could also be a rep if he qualifies.

My husband said "well, why wouldn't I qualify", the guy said, "I dont know sir. We do background checks, lab work, we test your blood you know, it could be many reasons why you would not be accepted say if you were a felon or something"... with that my husband told him the meeting was over. The guy wanted to still look over my policies, I told him, "I work for the government, my family and I are taken care of".

My husband got up and opened the front door, very said that Primerica goes to such lengths to get your money. Its a good package, but the sales tactics are too harsh. It WILL be, but it is not instantaneous!! My experience with Primerica has been nothing but favorable, from their products to the people I have dealt with. There will always be some people who abuse their position, who don't understand that you can't badger people, who are in it for the money... but by and large, this is a well run, respectable, legitimate business, well managed, very competitive in price, and above average in service in my experience. I know a lot of people are pro Primerica and a lot are not. I will fill you in on what my experience was being a regional leader within the company and making a good income. 1st Primerica is a one size fits all policy - it is not customized to any individual. I am now in the brokerage end of the business and find Primerica prices to be very expensive. If you replace whole life and buy term (buy term and invest the difference) like Primerica agents teach then why not buy a very low cost term and invest more of the difference. If you are female and you look around you will find Primerica prices to be very expensive. Agents say "Don't buy any other term as they convert." Fact is if you buy term and invest the difference properly you shouldn't need the insurance past retirement so why not buy a lower cost term and invest more of the difference.

2nd you do need to recruit to make good money and build your team. I did this and licensed a lot of agents and made just over 70,000 yearly but the second you stop recruiting you stop making that kind of money. Once I left the company I found that a new rep gets a 10% trailer and an rep gets a 35% trailer only to find a new rep can get 40%+ and a senior rep can be anywhere between 60%-80% trailers. Primerica is the lowest paying company in the industry.

Now that I am truly independent and can shop for different policies for clients I can get exactly what the client needs and really develop a customized plan for them. The concepts Primerica teaches are great and I practice them, teach them and implement them daily. But when they say there is no one else out there taking care of clients like they do they are wrong. There are many people like myself that are teaching the Primerica concept of buy term and invest the difference. So for all you people in Primerica look outside the bubble like I did and don't believe everything your RVP tells you - it is not as bad as they make it out to be as long as you do what's right 100% of the time. There are company out there that will help you.

Couple of weeks ago, I was approached by a old lady at WalMart, and talked about Primerica. She said I could get a summer job and asked for my phone number to call me and give me more details. I gave her my phone number and asked her questions, for which she gave me vague explanations about the job and salary. I was skeptic. I'm a engineering PhD student and I'm not stupid to see that a well established company does not need to be recruiting people in this way. They called me twice but did not answer. She mentioned to do not put attention to the bad comments online, as I told her that I would do a research before going to the workshop she wanted me to attend. Her last comment made me more suspicious.

I have been dealing with a Primerica "agent" and his "VP" for about three weeks now. Since day one, the agent has badgered me about my need for their life insurance even though I have life insurance through work and the military. I tried to explain that I wanted to explore all my options as a government employee and military member. He argues with me that their insurance is the best and that I'm making a mistake by not signing up right now and locking in my low rate. I also explained to the guy that I don't have a mortgage, have college for my daughter covered, and don't have a lot of debt. Not to mention I currently have about 500,000 thru the military and my job.

The best part of all this is...I still havent seen any of their policies in writing. I have no idea what they cover and don't cover. He says they cover everything just sign up and fill out the application. "You're the first person that's asked to see anything in black and white." Now even if their product is a good product, I have absolutely no trust for them or would even consider signing anything with these guys. Very high pressure. Just feels like a scam. Don't listen to these guys, do your own research.

I have read so many of these reviews and I must say that I am very impressed by everyone's passion behind what they say here in these reviews. It truly amazes me but we are aware that not everyone likes ketchup or mustard or mayo in their food. So not everyone will like Primerica or Walmart or McDonalds!

One person stated that the Primerica Reps lie about the coverage and it is in the "important things to know about your term life insurance policy" section of the life insurance policy. In fact this statement is far from the truth. On page 3 not page 2 of the leave behind package, it shows the answer to the question of will the premiums go up. I have attached a copy of the section in a picture.

The right answer is yes your premiums will go up after the term insurance period of coverage is over or ended. That being said if you purchase a level term 35 year plan your insurance total monthly amount will stay the same for that 35 years not 20!!! The only way it rises before that time is if you opt in to take the Increasing benefit rider which allows you to have more coverage over time for less without having to do a medical. I like this feature because I can get additional $25000 of coverage for as much as $1.50 more per month at my anniversary date added to my monthly amount as I get older and earn a bit more income at my job. As for those who are approached in public places in a rude way to join the company I am sorry you have not encountered a professional Primerican as yet. Don't give up hope!

For those who are upset about their plans not being what they thought it would be, I understand your pain and hope that you have made decisions with the right details to review and you have all questions answered to ensure you know what you received. And for those who are looking at the opportunity and say it is a "pyramid scam or scheme" in fact you are right the company is a scheme by dictionary definition! As for a pyramid I'm just happy you know the shape of one and are able to call it like you see it as a network marketing business that is traded on the NYSE. If that is a scam then why hasn't it been stopped yet?

As for anyone else who has any doubts, please actually do some credible research and not just read opinions on Google. Check AM Best, The Street, BBB for the ratings, see how fast Primerica delivered payouts for policies on 911 when lives were lost in the tragic events of that day. In the end, Opinions are like a rear end, everyone has one but nothing good comes out of it! Happy researching folks.

I was also able to put a little away for myself. When I see negative reviews about Primerica it's for the stupidest thing like, "Oh there was a fee for service?? Really??" There usually is when you get service duh!! I'm sure you don't work for free LOL... or they tried to show me how to make over 100k a yr in income without getting in debt by going to college for over 4 yrs not making money but paying money to get a job in a field you end up sometimes not working in. I just met with a Primerica consultant yesterday in the Bronx, New York. This was the third time I had ran into someone representing this company over the past 15-20 years. I was surprised that the company is still around, yet that says a lot because if Primerica was conducting fraudulent practices with people money and personal information, think about it, the federal government would have shut them down long time ago and they would be all over the news media like Enron and Lehman Brothers!... All I see are petty complaints without much substance concerning this organization.

My representative informed me about the $99 fee and the $25 a month up front during our first meeting and these costs help you get a license to even share financial information with others and Primerica is audited by every State banking authority to make sure there is no 'funny business' going on. The $25 fee monthly that comes out of your bank account or off your credit card is to help promote your business and circle of networks you develop so that people are reassured that the business is legitimate and can easily get information about who you are and what kind of company you represent. This is a huge financial services company that utilizes independent contractors to sell their services. Plain and simple. There is no difference than getting insurance from Geico, Allstate, StateFarm, New York Life, etc.

You just have the opportunity to be on the other side of the table offering quality services to people whose family and friends will benefit from being protected from all that life can and will throw at you. From divorce, death and sudden catastrophe people need to be better planner and savers. I don't believe Primerica is a cult, scam, or fraud. It's a company that has provided Americans the opportunity to take control over their own financial future and the strategy must be shared in order for you to earn a salary. I haven't began working with Primerica yet, but I'm going to keep my day job and see what happens over six months of employment with them and if it works, great! I will most certainly return and respond to consumer affairs regarding my HONEST experience.

This is the first time that I write in this type of websites, but it's so sad to see how many people actually pay for attention to this type of websites rather than, TRUSTWORTHY website such as A.M. BEST & the Better Business Bureau, or any type of financial approved companies. NOT A BLOG. A lot of people need to understand PRIMERICA is a company, run by different types of people, full of different types of offices, which means a primerica ran in Maryland, is gonna be the same as the one in your hometown. A lot of you heard of primerica but not of the rep, or rvp who is trying to give you an opportunity. Primerica is run by many different people, is run in their own way.

Me personally, I am a client & Their products, if offer and explained by a good rep, will be the best financial services people can ever own. Everyone always looks at this type of blogs to get an opinion on whether or not you should become a client or work for them, the answer is yes, you should do both. Primerica has been researched by real researches not people that look at "blog" for opinions and facts & if they are still in the market is because they are doing something good. Primerica is an opportunity to own your business. I truly believe anyone can do it, a lot of people think is pyramid... First a lot of people should look up the definition of a "pyramid" which will be a job. Pyramid means that the person at the top makes all the money.

I used to work at Toys R us - My CEO made all the money, there was no way that me as a simple sales associate was going to get a 6 figure income as a CEO, because there is only one CEO & the chance of a hispanic young lady to take over a ** place is -12 out of 100. Meaning never. The simple fact that for every credit card a sales associate sign up a customer, the MANAGER got an end of year bonus, that's a pyramid. We didn't get a bonus for doing all the work.

But yet there comes a company (PRIMERICA) that says to you, "I'M going to sponsor your licenses you just gotta pass it & they are yours; I'm going to train you to be better than me; and help people as good as me; so you can make the income you are worth not the income other people think your worth, & on top of that they give an opportunity to become a trainer & train other people and duplicate yourself so together you guys can help more people, and yet for training those people and making the people you hire better and duplicating yourself you get pay? & then people wanna sit there and say it's a pyramid but yet everyone in Primerica can get to the top.

I have trained all my competition at toys r us, I didn't get a raised, I didn't get a good job, I didn't get pay for it. Too many ignorant minds, used to doing the same old job, being just over broke. Primerica is not a pyramid folks, pyramids are illegal, Primerica is a business, willing to help everyone and give everyone the opportunity to be their own boss and build a business within their business, to pass it to down to your own generations. If that doesn't inspire you, then idk what to tell you folks.

It's incredible the way they attack other companies when they want to prove their point. Not other companies, but they attack everyone who is not interested in working or taking the insurance from them. They will tell them they are close-minded, or they would go nowhere with their lives. Everything has their good and bad things. And those who feel the need to attack others to make them feel superior is because in reality they are insecure about themselves. If you are confident about the product, why you need to criticize others?

The agents are always excited because they want to be different than the system and everyone who is going to college and get a job. Nothing wrong with that, but there are actually people who are happy following the system. If they sit down and talk to a client, they will never tell that client all the truth. If someone has any doubt, please check inside your policy package. There is an extra page named "Important Information about your Primerica Term Life Ins Policy". In the 2nd page there is one question "will my premiums go up?" There you will see that premiums are guaranteed for a maximum of 20 years.

If you purchase a 30 year term, guess what is going to happen after 20 years? The premium will be triple of what you are paying and you will end up cancelling the policy. That's something that they don't tell you. When I asked about it, the agent said that wasn't possible, and later I found out with my of coworkers that had that situation and had to cancel the policy. Be aware when you buy this type of insurance to read carefully every little detail. I have my insurance with another company which is more professional and they answered all my questions with facts and not only excitement.

I see many complaints about Primerica that are the result of many not following through with the process. There is a $99 fee that is for a course designed very well to assist one in passing the State Licensing exam. The $99 also covers exam review materials, books, and cd. Also, the $99 is able to be earned back with great assistance from the up lines to assist one to earn it back in the first month, with great success rates generally. It is a mutual benefit for the uplines to help, and the company provides great incentives for each to help. Many of the complaints result from one never putting forth the effort, which isn't extraordinary effort needed, but definitely involves being engaged like any other job. It's a really fairly simplistic job and just involves talking to people and the desire to help people.

Surely if one was not explained things well, they might not understand the value and ease of this job, but in general, there is a lot of support, and the $25/month is optional and is a resource that is invaluable in supporting one in this business. It has a wealth of information, training and education, business tools among much more. It is worth well beyond the $25 if you understand what it holds and its capacity to be utilized in multiple ways for your business. Of course with any business, especially a company of this size, there will always be some bad eggs, and some who are lazy or who don't work and just want to complain. Primerica is a fantastic business model and helps people while allowing for a great business opportunity as an Independent Contractor, a great combination.

I would recommend not taking the complaints of those who did not pursue things, or did not apply themselves and instead just quit and complained before even seeing the benefit, and rather seeing for oneself. It ultimately can cost nothing once your initial payment for the course and books and materials is paid and the uplines work hard to get that back for you in the first month. The company has teachers and if they offered everything for free in that initial stage, people would sign up willy nilly and not be invested or committed and quit will nilly. This initial fee helps defray the cost, and part of it goes to the price of the licensing exam as well, and helps ensure one invests themselves in this job opportunity.

The company rewards its Independent Contractors well if they simply apply themselves as they would be expected to in any job. It's a great company to work for with unlimited potential and a ton of support, including weekly meetings and weekly trainings that are so helpful. There will always be complainers out there, and one should consider the source.

As most posts on consumer affairs have mentioned there was a $99 application fee to start the business, which in most cases means run the other way. I would agree if it wasn't for the fact that they sell a legitimate product, require state and federal licenses to sell the products and are listed on the NYSE (PRI). The application fee pays for the federally mandated background check and state required pre-licensing class to start the business.

After the fourth time being contacted I took a leap and joined the business. I have a degree in business management and have learned more from Primerica than the 4 years of college. Because I got it when I was young, I pay a little bit more than 20 bucks (some people pays 20 bucks on data plan on their smartphone, that if something happens to you they won't come to you and give you a lump sum of money). By the way, the older, overweight, and if you are smoker, increases your premium if you even qualify for a life insurance. I got life insurance to replace my income in case something happens to me, so my beneficiary can have a future. I also got their prepaid legal services to be legally protected even against them (there is no need though) and everything else in normal life. I don't know about laws, there are so many and with the PLPP, I get legal answers when I need them, so I'm legally protected.

I'm almost debt-free, I have never paid interest on anything, but I do earn interest on my 401k, so I'm in good track for retirement. But guess what, with their financial needs analysis, I found out how much I need to save in order to retire. (Why do you think are still people working at retirement age? They failed to plan.) Anyways I joined because the information they offer, everybody needs it. Do you remember the 1% that has all the wealth in the US? Well, they are at the top of the pyramid and they are not coming back for us.

Why Primerica is a good choice? Because they give you the opportunity to make the extra money you need either to pay your debt, mortgage, a car, or retire sooner than planned (which other company does that?). In Primerica you are an independent business contractor. INDEPENDENT - that means you do what you want as long you follow the company regulations and compliance. I highly recommend that if you want to more about you sit down with a knowledgeable representative, and ask as many questions you want, because fear is keeping you away from your goals. And remember, you don't have control over your job, I recommend that you take control of your income.

    1. Just like everyone of you I Googled the company and saw bad reviews everywhere. 2. The difference is that I'm an independent contractor and I saw this as an opportunity to make extra income. Most of the people here has the employee mentality that works the 9 to 5 job. Change that and you'll see better opportunities out there. 3. I learned the difference between Term life and Whole life. How those other big name companies market whole life to profit of you and sell you the dream of ripped off retirement. Universal life, Indexed Universal Life they're all the same.

    4. They just don't do life inaurance. They help you save money on car and auto and invest the difference. 5. They DO INVESTMENTS! Those of you go Googling crap, Google COMPOUND INTEREST and RULE OF 72. Even Einstein made the quote "compound interest is the 8th wonder of the world. Those who understands it earns it, those who don't pays it." 6. Some agents are persistent cause from experience people are scared of their finances. They don't want people knowing that they're broke and if they don't spread the message they won't have a future. I'm 30 now and not once did my friends or previous employers told me about investing. All I see is them posting crap on fb about their new car but again they're in a deeper financial hole.

    7. PYRAMID SCHEME? lol Your work is a pyramid! You're at the bottom and the owner makes more than you without being there. 8. Their is no quota. l'm running my own thing not being an employee to anyone and by doing Primerica and also applying what I learned; I'm on track on doubling my income. I think I'm going on the right track. 9. $99? It's one time payment. And $25 is optional but highly recommended to run business. I learned how to help people with finances and still learning. Also pays for securities license that I'm working on and the company pays 500 when I pass. Let me say that again. THE COMPANY WILL PAY ME 500 WHEN I PASS!

    10. For those of you that played or still play RPG video games like I did, look at yourself as a video game character. You must improve everyday to become better. Treat your life like a video game but make decisions the right way cause we only have one Life. I'm not saying join Primerica but at least learn the concepts. Read books by Napoleon Hill, Grant Cardone and so on.

Primerica took my SSN, my debit card, and my friends.

Not only does Primerica charge you $99 dollars for a program you don't need, but now they charge you $25 a month? So if you see a person who claim he is going to get you a job, he is not. Chances are, he is probably trying to make you join a cult (so to speak). I want everyone to know to be careful and not make the mistakes I made.

I am reading these reviews and I can't believe what I'm reading. I was laid off from a very successful 25 year profession. I got a call from Primerica the next month to come participate in a business orientation meeting. I was told it was financial services and an opportunity to own my own business. I was curious. I was still young enough and smart enough to learn a new profession so my wife and I went. Like most of the reviews stated, it was a meeting introducing the company, what they do for middle class families and how you get paid. They were open to the fact in order to move higher you had to recruit. They were also open to the fact that this was only an option. You could make plenty cash on your own pen without getting into the recruiting game. No quotas here.

I did go to the after interviewer a couple days later. I was not promised a get rich scheme, I was told it would take hard work. I was told you can't make any money until you get licensed. I was also told the $99 was for state regulated fingerprinting, background check and admin costs. I was also made aware of the continuing $25 a month for internet access to databases, forms, business tracking, ongoing training and operations downloads to run my business on a daily basis. I figured if I bought software on my own to do all that, it would cost me a lot more than $25 a month!! Where could I go to run a business for $25 a month?!

After the interview, I did like what I saw but I was leery. I was not pressured to join as some previous reviews suggests. I went home and went online to investigate on my own. I did see reviews good and bad, mostly bad, but I trusted my own judgment and figured, even if it didn't work for me, the most I lose is $99. My brother got scammed selling electricity and paid $300. A friend got scammed selling online shopping site and also paid $300. I did join Primerica. I studied hard and got all my licenses. Insurance, and two investment licenses. That alone was a great accomplishment and I'm proud of that. I conclude that a lot of complaints stem from the fact that most do not endure the process of getting licensed so they need to blame and vent.

In my 5 years at Primerica, I have honestly helped so many families who had nowhere else to go. One recent family was $500 in the hole every month and a pile of debt. They called me asking for help, because they heard I was in the business. After one month working with that family, their debt is contained, reduced, managed and affordable. They now have life insurance, which they couldn't afford before, and they have a retirement plan that will sustain them in retirement. Oh… by the way, they are now saving $500 per month. This is not an isolated case for me. I am duplicating these results over and over, family by family. Primerica works. I am making residual money on investments and making great commission's on every piece of business I generate. WITHOUT RECRUITING!!!

I personally am glad I didn't listen to the reviews. It's not a get rich scheme, you must work hard, and you can't give up. Like any business there is downtimes. If I owned a store downtown that sold widgets, there will be downtimes and I would be paying a lot more than $25 a month to run it. By the way… I plan to quit my full time job next summer to go full-time with Primerica. I am convinced most of the complaints are from those who couldn't get licensed or not willing to do the work or thought it was going to be easy money.

I've been with Primerica for a few months now and I am so thankful I decided to take a chance. I was initially approached with the opportunity in 2008, but declined. It seemed like a pyramid scheme to me at that time. Little did I know that Primerica is the largest financial services company in North America. I also didn't realize what a WONDERFUL & PRESTIGOUS company it really is. I was approached with the business opportunity at the beginning of this year and decided the only thing I had to lose was $99. I truly believe it was God sent and I would not change my decision for the world.

I've found that Primerica not only has delivered on every promise they made, they also have allowed me to do GOOD for others and WELL for myself at the same time - as opposed to serving others and living in poverty while doing so. I am getting complete fulfillment in Primerica and I am doing so many wonderful things for the families I'm helping/serving - which is primarily middle class America. I now have a platform and I'm using it to do the work I have always wanted to do - help others... And even though I've done if for free, I'm able to get compensated very well.

Primerica is not for everyone, but it is definitely for individuals who think on an entrepreneurial and ownership perspective. It's for individuals who truly believe "why not me". It's especially for individuals who know what it means to put in the work, sweat, and dedication required to own your own business.

In terms of the company's credibility, go search what people like Suze Orman and Dave Ramsey have to say about it. It's truly a great company and I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting those people who have already been successful in the business, who are now coaching and teaching me how to do what they have already done. Keep this in mind... If someone has the blueprint and the desire to help pull you where they already are and beyond, what do you have to lose or better yet... What do you have to gain?

Okay so I got recruited while on my way to an interview at the mall, young sharp looking man approached me and my sister and told us about a job opportunity. I was hesitant to give my number to a complete stranger but I took a chance. The next day we set an appointment to meet up. It wasn't at their office because the office was in Burbank, not close to where I live. I was sketchy on everything but then we met, they did charge a fee of $100 for background check and etc. I was still very undecided about staying and moreover I was scared because I had filled a application with lots of personal info. So I had them meet with my parents and they loved them. Im so glad my parents met them because it relieved stress of doing things on my own.

I went to the meetings and training and it was interesting :) Yesterday I just finished the state license schooling, 32 hrs requirement. Met a lot of other primerica agents and we all supported each other. Made great friends, we all graduated and now will prepare for the state exam. This showed me that everything is strict. PYRAMID SCHEMES are illegal there's.. and in school they very well explain why people misinterpret the company. Overall I'm excited to work for primerica, I do it for the experience and I don't care if I don't get paid by the hour because it's based on my schedule and unlike a lot of people that put these complaints... they SPEAK NONSENSE AND BLINDLY. They never went passed the orientations which is why they talk so much.. you got to work for what you want. So don't let the comments give you second thoughts. ATLEAST TRY IT AND LEARN SOMETHING!!! Guarantee you the experience is like nothing else.

Below is the text as written in a complaint with the SEC for the lackluster roll out of a major change in my retirement account that was held for many years with Templeton and then moved to the Primerica Domain one Sunday morning in March. You can imagine the fear associated with the disappearance of just over 1/4 million dollars. And since they made this change on Sunday, there was no way to confirm this with customer service. The salesman that sold me the shares over a 25 year period collected a commission but did not have the 5 minutes to contact me in person.

I spoke to someone in the back office tonight as a result of my SEC complaint. Every time they talk to me they put their feet further in. He told me that I was the first person that had a complaint with the way they rolled out this move. I am trying to move things back to the Templeton Domain, but that will take 2-3 signed forms. Ironic that it took no signature to make the move in the first place.

Primerica Investments is the custodian for my 403(b) with shares of Templeton/Franklin TEPLX and TEDMX. As I am getting closer to retirement I have been monitoring my account thru the Franklin Templeton website. On Sunday morning I checked my account and found that my retirement balance was $0.00 with no shares held. You can imagine my panic as images of identity theft and numerous other scenarios for my retirement flashed thru my head. Being a Sunday Morning, there was no-one at their customer service desk to allay my fears. I did see that there were no recent transactions in the history, so I figured/hoped it was a website error. I checked my wife's account, same $0 balance. I tried to contact the local office for Primerica as seen on my fund details. But being Sunday they were also closed.

I called first thing this morning to the Franklin Templeton help desk and they explained that my account was sent back to Primerica for all billing/sales/etc. They told me that I should have received a letter from Primerica explaining all of this. I received the letter on Friday, Mar 27 and had not opened it. The rep from Franklin told me that I could request, thru Primerica, to revert the account back to the control of FTempleton... As I was talking to the rep, the message that there was a "Plan Transfer Out" was finally added to the transaction history.

I assume that the SEC does not have jurisdiction over the poor marketing choices made by brokerage houses, but they must have some say over the processes of notification to investors. I am seeking the following answers to this complaint: This switch should have been provided to investors as an "opt in" rather than "opt out". Since there is the option to return to FT as the repository of my shares, this could have been done. This type of change should have occurred during normal business hours when service reps could have taken investor calls, not on a Sunday/weekend.

Adequate notification to investors by the sales force, registered letters, email notice with receipt acknowledgement informing us of this change would have prevented my sleepless night. Poor marketing strategies is one thing, creating the illusion of the loss of $400K is some thing I hope the SEC addresses with either Primerica or Franklin Templeton. Both parties said it was the other's idea.

I have read a lot of mixed reviews about Primerica after I joined. I have heard a lot of mixed reviews as well. It seems like a lot of issues isn't with what the company offers, but bad experiences with the recruiters. In any company, you have people with differing approaches and personalities. Since Primerica focuses on have your own branch/business, your upline will determine your training and the advice they give you.

My recruiter was great. She was open and encouraged my questions and was frank every step of the way. With so many offices, it is inevitable that some people will do what they can to get guests, but at least in Jacksonville, under my RVP, the focus is helping people. I have never been forced to give numbers, or lied to about what I was getting into. I was met with encouragement and training. If you choose to join, keep in mind that different people represent Primerica, and your opinion is based on who brought you, and not what we do.

I've had services with both worse and better companies. I got life licensed through Primerica and reinforced my knowledge about finances. My personality doesn't fit the mold well as a full time rep. This isn't the best fit for employment if you're not religious. It is a company that has various religious meetings and moments of prayer. Many people with good ethics at least, some with poor ethics. More good people than bad. Takes a highly motivated person to succeed from what I saw - the type of person that'll succeed regardless of the business they're in.

The 10-year index on my mutual funds perform only around 6% annually, so it is a pretty low rate of return. Various meetings are there to boost ambition and morale, which is good for some, but made me feel like I was wasting time that could be spent writing business. Granted, I stopped going to meetings after I realized my passions were elsewhere. As far as MLM companies go, this is among the best I've seen.

Well she spent almost two hours trying to convince how they weren't a scam, but at the end when my answer was still a no she insulted me and just highligted in what to do to get my refund. I went home followed the instructions, first it tells you how you have to submit in writing and it gives you an address and a email. I emailed since it would be faster. Then you get an email back saying you have to call the regional licensing director but it turns out to be a bogus number and never. ** PRIMERICA!! I'm never gonna get those $99 back. So he and his wife met up with me and discussed to me what they do. They sell insurance through primerica. I give them an A+ because they sold me. I wanted to come on board and pretty much "own my own business" at just 21. They showered me with compliments, saying I'm a hard worker and blah blah, I already knew that lol.

They invited me to this little orientation, where agents came up and basically talked about what primerica do and how they climbed the ladder and got to where they are now, financially, which I basically heard already in the sit down with my coworker and his wife. During this orientation, in the back of my mind I was thinking "this is too good to be true" everything just sounded too perfect. Everyone there had this fake "I'm so happy to be in primerica" attitude that it was contagious and I haven't even joined yet lol.

Then I learned about the $99 starting fee. On top of that, they were so pushy and aggressive about getting you to join and getting your $99. I received a text or call if not every day then every other day about making my payment. It got really annoying. I eventually backed out. I don't know what but something doesn't feel right about primerica. It's too good to be true. Everyone there seems brainwashed.

In the second interview, a gentleman who told me I needed to get 100 phone numbers and give them to him and bring them back on my third visit to start me on my business. On my third visit I had forgotten the numbers so I set down and jotted a few people down that I thought might be interested in some insurance and who might be interested in work. I tried calling two of them on the list and they didn't answer their phones and he said no problem we'll do it later. There was a class the following day at 8:30 so I left to finish my errands and go home and get some rest.

By the time I got home I had several people calling me very angry that I had given out their phone number and one of the people on the list is a very pregnant niece of mine, due any day and I did not want her to be called. I was supposed to call her, but he called trying to set up an appointment with her for me. Her mother got very upset with me. I overslept the next morning but I had contacted him the night before telling him that I would be there and what had happened with my sister and I ask, "please don't call anybody until I talk to you". He did call me back that day (about 2:51) and which I missed. I have left two messages for him to return my call they go straight to voicemail; seems to me like I'm be ignored.

I thought it was like Amway or Avon, but with insurance. I would really like to get my insurance and brokerage license and help people get insurance and saving. But I don't feel like I can trust this person I gave those numbers and was confident that we would call them together and he took it upon himself to call them on his, own my family. I'm not very happy and you know I learned nothing of what was the products so, just a lot of scribbling on paper. I don't guess I'll be going back anymore. Sounded so cool.

Before I even get started, I should point out that I have years of experience selling insurance. I am located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. A friend of mine has been drinking the Primerica Kool-Aid for quite some time now. As a way of getting him off my back, I agreed to go listen to a presentation of sorts at the local office. Big mistake. Primerica has a pretty simple way of doing business which consists of signing up, getting licensed, then selling their products to all of your warm market (family and friends). I have found several issues with this.

For one, the average rep makes $5,000 a year. That is nowhere near the hundred thousand dollar club that they try to suck you in with. Secondly, their approach to selling your warm market is aggressive enough to lose friends and have people stop taking your phone calls (see my friend). The $25 a month website access fee is something that zero of my current companies charge. The funniest thing about the whole interview is the commission rate. I was told that a rep starting out makes 25-50% commission. I almost busted out laughing as this rate is well below industry standards. I guess that is how the guy at the top of the pyramid is doing so well.

The biggest problem I have with this company is that majority of its representatives have little to no training in the insurance industry. I have noticed this quite often as I replace Primerica's overpriced term every opportunity I get! Primerica is a complete joke in this industry and I would love to see how many of these new reps actually make it. A piece of advice for any person looking to join the insurance industry... Go work for a reputable agency that has a solid training program, will pay you a salary of sorts + commission in order to learn this business the right way. You can make more money and know that you are telling people the right things.

It sounded really good at first, the thing that struck me as odd was the fact everyone involved in my interview never have me a straight answer as to how I would be getting paid. They also said I don't have to set up my own calls and meetings with clients because they do that for us. Then they brought up the point of this program they have as costing $99 per month. Much encouragement to refer friends and family, as this guy did with me and shine others I saw at the office. Fast forward to more and I'm all getting phone calls from him and his managers about signing up. Or they tell me they want to do a sit down discussion about my finances, which I always decline. How many times do you have to say no to someone before they just stop? Maybe this works for some people, but I'm convinced this is a flat out pyramid scheme.

They said they tried to notify us by mail and indeed had a bad address but with the internet, we all know they could have contacted us. When you purchase a term policy, one does expect it to run the course and expire. We are now retired on fixed income, we knew what we were doing when we purchased it for the 20-year term. To be short after diagnose he went through surgeries and passed away on January 2015.

While his family apply for the life insurance money, Primerica denied the case because according to them my brother got the life insurance because he knew he had cancer. This is a total ripoff. Come on people, doctors knew about his cancer, 2 months later and how he knew about it when he was signing the contract with you. Who in the right mind will wait 2 months then go do colonoscopy, if there is a cancer case?!! Their story gets more funnier, when the agent said, "If he would die after 2 years of signing the contract, it was ok, we would pay the insured amount." They are just bunch of liars, stay away from them. Unfortunately I am not the beneficiary, so I can not complain about this company and my sister-in-law takes everything very easy and think if they are life insurance company, nobody can fight with them. So I joined Primerica a little over a month ago. I paid $99 to join which was well worth it because they paid for my licensing classes (which I did the first week). Yes they asked for referrals to do my training which I wasn't happy about but to be honest they started me at a 50% commission vs 25% because of it so it was worth it. So I took my state test and passed and I just got appointed last week. My first week licensed I made $1300 about. I'm on my second week and I did the math and so far (it is Tuesday) on my appointment yesterday I made $230.

So I don't know about all these people writing bad reviews. I am averaging about $50 an hour including all my non paid training and my time and my gas. I think most of these reviews are because maybe an agent was too pushy or the person writing the bad review is misinformed. People have this weird idea that something is only good if it is on television (commercials). But my opinion is Primerica is one of the better insurance Companies. I have over 100 clients, none of which ever had a complaint about out products and services. I recently paid a death claim to a client. She would not have had anything had we not spoke to her ex-husband and gave him the proper protection she needed to take care of her and her special needs child. If there are agents out there that do not represent this company the way they should, then report them to our home office.

Some of the comments and statements written here are untrue. I have had people decide not be part of the company after paying a $99 fee and they were refunded. That money offsets the cost of the Insurance Classes and study material needed to pass your state test. The cost on your own is between $500-$800 depending on your state. The $25 a month is to run your business through a secure website. That too can be stopped or cancelled at anytime with a simple phone call from you. If you take the classes then decide not to be part of the company, you may get a partial refund or no refund because you already took the class. We have great partnerships with many of the largest investment companies. We are on the NY stock exchange and our stock has gone from $14 to $55+.

The life insurance is a term and only goes up if you elect to take an increasing benefit rider. You are notified once a year about your benefit and you then choose to keep it or not. That too can be cancelled at anytime. So if there are agents not doing what they should, call the RVP of the office or the compliance department at our home office. There are more wonderful and educated agents in this company than bad. I am thankful we have been clients for 20 years with the Life Insurance Product as well as my great investments with Invesco funds. I am proud to work with this company and have no problem talking to my friends and family about what I do and helping them the way I was helped.

Ten years ago when my wife and I were first married we met with a Primerica representative that helped us with our financial goals. The education they provided us helped us to get and stay out of debt. We did not join Primerica at the time, but remained as clients. Many of the complaints I see are people's own fears about making a bad decision. I have worked for a restaurant for a number of years and I watch people from kids to adults sit on the clock and put in minimal effort only to complain about minimum wage not being higher.

Primerica's business model is one that rewards the productive person. After sitting on the fence for a number of years about it, I decided to join Primerica. They only want you to succeed. What other business can you start for only $99? The products are genuine, and the company has a history of integrity. Similar to inquiring about the quality of a University, you would respect the advice of a graduate of the school over that of a dropout. Get your advice from a successful Primerica representative. Warning: they are serial optimists!

A person supposedly from this company phoned me one day and told me to come for an interview for a post of Administrative Assistant (He refused to tell me how he got my number). The place is a small office in Gaithersburg. When you go there, they will ask you to fill an application, and extract most of your personal details. Then, this guy came and started mesmerizing me with unexpected details of some financial products of this company. It took me a little while to understand this is multilevel marketing scheme. But, I was too late.

At the interview itself this guy will take your social security number, and all your credit card details. And will inform you that they need those details to do a background check if they decide to hire you. Then the next day he will come to your home and somehow lure you to buy some products of this company that are priced over 3-4 times more than their true market value. Everything happens so quick that you will have no time to think.

Luckily, the next day I informed the company to withdraw all my application to life insurance and other products (They were not processed at the time). But when I checked my credit card account, I was charged 99 $ for nothing. I disputed that charge and recently got that money back. I would have remain in silent unless what happened to me today.

Today, someone has produced a false credit card with my name and other details to make purchase of $480. Luckily my bank gave me a phone call and declined the charge. Please be careful of this scamming company, and remember that they can't charge you for considering you for a job or just interviewing you for something you really do not want. These guys cheated me for a false interview, wasted my time, stole my personal and credit card details and tried to charge me $99 for no product or service offered.

When I was first introduced to the Company I think I was too young to appreciate the concepts, but I did remember that people were being helped out in a huge way financially. Fast forward some years and a friend of mine introduced me to his mentor that was teaching him some financial concepts. When I met the guy I didn’t think he was anything too special, but I’m always interested in gaining new knowledge so I listened. At this point I'm a little older and more savvy so the financial techniques were very intriguing to me. I started to think about myself, my mom and sisters and the way this new information could help them save money and get out of debt. I thought it was too good to be true. So I asked him if I could get involved with the company somehow and how much money can I make? He then showed me his checks for the past 2 months and also showed me that he only got hired 2 months ago.

Nevertheless the checks totaled around $7000 the first month and $9000 the second month. So my skepticism went out the window at that point. Long story short. I never liked jobs that weren't fun and bosses that treat you like crap. I couldn’t find a job in my field and because of globalization, none of the good jobs are coming back. I need to make a 6 figure salary to support my family and more schooling was not the answer. Most of my friends have several degrees, student loans galore and still working a measly job they hate. This Company gave me shot to get paid my worth and be there for my family again. Some of these complaints are ridiculous. How can a Billion Dollar Company be a scam in the most regulated industry in the world?? Some of you are just young and haven’t been beat up enough by life yet. Primerica is the only Professional Company offering freedom and great money that I have seen.

If you want to be a wage slave then it is not for you. If you have no self discipline and need to be told what to do for 8 hours a day then it is not for you. If you don’t realize and see a huge need for the services offered then it is not for you. I've been through lay off after layoff. Unemployed and watched the benefits run out. Interview after interview for dead end jobs. Primerica changed all that for me and my family. I’m glad everybody doesn’t get hired, but if you think it is a scam you don't know much about business or life for that matter. It's not a perfect Company, but it offers a heck of a lot to ordinary people.

I hope no one else falls for this the way I did. The guy who recruited me said that he was "the hiring manager for a financial literacy firm in college park" and that they were hiring. I set up an interview time with him - which turned out to be an open house for Primerica. They sold this place well and hyped everything up. They know everyone is tired of working jobs where they don't make enough money. I should have thought it through and didn't because I actually thought these people were genuine - they were successful and not that much older than me (I'm a college student).

I gave them the permission to take the $99 from me and they rushed me into the orientation for the next day - didn't even really care what time I would be there as long as I got there. I went to the orientation and realized what was really going on. They don't tell you everything up front. The guy second in charge at this particular Primerica (who was running the orientation) told us specifically not to mention insurance or investments when talking to clients. It is also a pyramid scheme. It turns out the guy who recruited me wasn't even a manager at all - he was one of the people at the bottom of the pyramid who had only started working there a month prior to when this all took place. They need to recruit a certain number of people to make it to the next position - and at that position and everything in between up to the top makes a percentage of what the person below them makes.

I got out of there so fast and asked them to stop the money form for the $99 and that I didn't want to do it anymore. The guy said okay and said he would call me if he couldn't. Never got a phone call back from him but did see that $99 was taken from my account a week later. I called them and called them multiple times and they never answered. Thank god for my parents - I told them what was going on and they called the exact number I had been trying only a minute after my last call - and the manager of the place answered. The fact that they were screening my phone calls says enough for itself. My parents were able to talk to the guy who recruited me and I am getting my $99 back.

I honestly can't believe this happened. Primerica is technically legit and it does work for some people - the only thing that these people were honest about was that they were making more money than ever. But it depends on how many clients you can get - I would say only about 5% of people in this company make it to the top. The rest are promised so much and don't make it at all.

I usually don't write reviews but I am so frustrated with this company I felt compelled to. My experience all started with an old high school friend messaging me to catch up. He asked what was new with me and I just so happened to mention that I was frustrated because I needed a job and he asked me if I was interested in starting a new career. I thought how lucky of me to have mentioned I was looking for a job to him because I did want to break into an actual career instead of waitressing and I know it's always helpful to have friends and connections to get you in the front door to a new company to work for.

Now I realize it was lucky of him I happened to mention that because the only reason he messaged me to see how I was doing was to try to recruit me to work for Primerica. I was told it was a financial investment company and he asked if I could come in that night to a business meeting they were having to go over what their company was all about and to see what kind of job opportunities they had available. I thought that was weird that we just started talking about it and that same night I could come in. I asked if I should bring a resume and he said no just something to take notes with which I also felt was a little off.

I show up and it's not a meeting so much as a seminar with different speakers who all had their own short presentations. He introduced me to some people and had me sit in the front row because I was his friend and he wanted me to be right upfront for everything. The audience almost seemed coached and almost cult like in their responses to the presentations. Everyone who spoke got a standing ovation and different questions were asked or points were made. There was a lot of hand raising in agreement and laughing and YESes yelled out in response to the speakers.

They did presentations on the world's financial crisis, how much money banks were making off the people's money and how there is a lot of money for your average working middle class person to make if invested properly, how much money and bonuses you can make off getting other people you work for and how many steps up you can make to become a vice president (it now seems to me they have a lot of vice presidents and not really sure what that title actually means), and how much better their coverage and premiums were for life insurance then other companies.

Each speaker looked at me and said my name during their presentation which I found off putting as it was a large audience and I was the only person whose name was used and they all did it when I didn't even know these people. Yes I had a name tag on but they were on a stage and I was sitting in the audience. They also compared how much their company makes in comparison to McDonald's and Walmart which are also two companies who benefit from people at the top making money off of lots of underpaid workers. They don't make near as much as those two companies but profits are still about the billion mark and they say they make less because they care about the people they do business for and give them good products for their money.

At the end of the presentation I was left a bit confused because all of the info was pretty vague and I was left wondering what the job actually was. I was told financial company initially so I was thinking investments but after the presentation I was wondering am I supposed to be recruiting people under me to make money off of them? Am I supposed to sell life insurance? Am I supposed to do a bunch of cold calling and selling to friends and family to make money? Or do they help the middle class get more return on their income? They touched on so many different things but never actually explained what products they focused on.

I was also given a card to fill out with just basic information and on the back had spots open for referrals. I filled out my info but left the referral section blank because I felt like I would be embarrassed to have friends called on my behalf to come to this seminar as I now realized these 'business meetings' were something they held in this building quite frequently. My friend told me this building was his office but it was just one big room with a stage and rows of seating so not quite sure how that works as his office as well.

After the meeting when I gave him my card he flipped it over and told me to please fill out the referral section so I reluctantly went through my phone and put some people down. Then he asked me if I wanted to pay my $99 fee right then to go ahead and get started. I said I didn't bring payment with me but could have it and he said he would come pick me up from my apartment the next day and go over everything. I agreed.

Later I messaged other friends from high school and asked if they knew what was up with my friend's job, if they had heard about it, if it seemed to be a pyramid scheme to them etc. and they said yeah, he had approached them all and everyone who had gone to this seminar had said it seemed like a pyramid scheme and when they talked to my friend he was pushing for them all to start work there and even spoke from a script over the phone. I then decided to research more online before we met up and read one horrible review after the next after the next and that convinced me that I didn't want to go through with this and meet him or pay any fee.

I told him I had read a lot of bad stuff online and that I had tried to keep an open mind but didn't want to go through with it and didn't want to be involved in any sort of pyramid scheme. His answer was, "Where did you get that info from?" and to make sure my research was credible and to look at the Better Business Bureau or the NYSE and that people have bad reviews on every company and that they are in financial services, the highest regulated industry and asked me if I was aware that pyramid schemes were illegal. Then he proceeded to tell me that he had spoken to his VP about me and to be completely honest that with my current situation that I wouldn't be a good fit for them right now. He said to get myself back on track with a job and a car and then we could talk about me working for them. Then he wished me the best of luck.

I asked him what exactly he meant by 'my situation' as that sounded offensive to me and he said "No car, no job. We look for that in people." and that he was going to hire me as a friend but after talking to his VP, it wouldn't benefit them at this time and to not take it the wrong way but they wanted to make sure their time was invested in the right place and that once I got a job and transportation then we could talk about me being hired and ended with 'fair enough?' and 'We don't look for people in that situation.'

My answer was "So you are looking for people that are easier to make money off of?" and he said well that's American business, someone is making money off someone else. Wouldn't you rather own a business than work for someone else? And I told him he didn't have to put me down like that and his answer was "I'm sorry you took it that way" but with all the companies out there making lay-offs, doesn't it make sense to have full control of my destiny when it comes to having a career?

That's when I stopped responding. Our conversation went from trying to push me to meet with him and pay my fee and when I turned him down he insulted me and acted like I hadn't just said I didn't want to work for them and that I could come back when I had a better situation to trying to make me realize that it was a good opportunity again. No thank you, I don't need that BS in my life. Thank you Primerica for destroying that friendship and completely wasting my time and energy.

I am a little annoyed when my friend kept inviting me to this meeting and I finally came. The music is so loud and I can't understand what my friend was telling me. Then the mtg start with video, the host was talking about how Primerica changed his life and how he started as part time, quit his job and went fulltime after few years, etc. Too good to be true, maybe works for him. I guess. In the middle of the meeting we went to a different conference room where they explain how money works, the opportunity. Interesting and very informative. I can use it in my daily life actually. I do need it but I don't want to join. It kind of help knowing the opportunity they offer but I don't think I can do it. I went and research about the Primerica, not just the review I read from different people who have a bad reviews but both and also read the Wikipedia and how long it has been and the history, multiple changes and how it become established.

It seems legit company. Not really a scam as what other people say it was. I guess you really have to do a true research to say it is a scam. I don't think my friend who is smart would already know it. She seems pretty honest to what she does. I saw their Corporate Office in GA when I visited my friend and watch Concert at Duluth, GA. - pretty impressively huge. I don't know if I will join though. I rather work fulltime and make money steady than make a commission, I guess. I will say not for me, but I am interested in their free offer class to learn about Investment. I might consider it in the future when I change a career, when I grow up, who knows. Only for those that are so ambitious in owning their business I guess. I like when someone tells me what to do and follows it :-D. I don't have time to take care for others so not gonna join.

Just left an "interview." I just left there as a change in field. I texted my mom at the start... this seems pyramid scheme and sales... both things I don't want. So, after filling out my information of references I get called in. The entire thing was odd. The lady felt the need to tell me her husband died, which is sad and all but wasn't sure how it was relevant. So, the "interview" starts. It is a presentation of how awesome they are. They get to ring the bell at the stock exchange because they do so well. You can make 5,000 a month as a PT worker.. Great, right?

The thing that stuck to me...is the open discussion of people's salaries and what they bring in... Kim makes 350,000 a year.. David makes 5 million.. All on assisting people in financial planning? This was not right. How do you get paid? After my "interview" she asked "What do you think?" I said "Money sounds amazing but this isn't for me." She said "Well, you have to work for it." I said "I'm sure, I'll maybe contact you for debt consolidation and we need a will, but for a job..no" and left. I won't be contacting her at all... and contacted my three referred with an apology if they receive harassing calls. Disappointing.

Back in November, I decided to get in touch with an old family friend who I knew was working for Primerica in regards to life insurance. I figured that since it was an old family friend and he would treat me well throughout the transaction. Not the case. For starters, on the actual day of meeting he was five-ten minutes late which I would normally shrug off if it wasn't for everything else. During the meeting, he was very pushy about how I should be getting more than just life insurance, etc. It also seemed as though he himself wasn't too well informed on what he was selling given the fact that the whole process seemed very formulaic and when I gave him an answer to a question that did not go with the Primerica expected answer, it seemed to throw him.

Nevertheless, despite my better judgement, I signed up for the life insurance policy. The agent then told me that my policy would be coming in a few weeks and I could either have it mailed to myself or to him, and I told him either or was fine with me. He chose to have it mailed to him. The meeting then wrapped up with him asking for referrals. I apologized and told him I did not know of anyone I could refer as I personally don't believe in giving out people I know's contact information without their consent. Besides, at my age of 26 I don't really know many people looking for the services that they provide. He seemed very annoyed at this and informed me that most people give them at least 8 referrals, and he would expect some from me at the next meeting. He also then tried to sell me on working for this company even though he was already aware of the fact that I'm a full-time student working three jobs, and kept trying to push for me to come to an information meeting despite me stating the fact that I was not interested.

Flash forward a few weeks and he emails me telling me that the policy has come in and wants to set up a time for us to meet. I apologize and tell him that my schedule is too busy right now and I cannot meet with him. I ask him if he could please mail me the policy in lieu of a meeting. He then claims that he has to meet with me because this policy (which he originally stated could be mailed to me) needs my signatures and he has to meet with me because of that. I then clearly state in a response email that since I cannot meet with him, then he will have to cancel the policy.

He then left a voicemail on my phone telling me that I did not want to cancel the policy and that I had to get in touch with him to set up a time to meet with him. I did not respond. From there, he continued to call and message me multiple times a day everyday for about a week and a half. This whole time insisting I had to meet with him and not giving me any information on how to cancel my policy despite my telling him that that was the only option due to my schedule would not allow for a time to meet with him (not an exaggeration either as I before mentioned I am a full time student who works three jobs).

After I stopped responding he eventually contacted my mother as an attempt to get in touch with me. Despite being an old family friend, they hadn't spoken in years and my mom being full aware of what was going on ignored his first message to her. When I still didn't respond, he made another attempt at contacting her. This time he sent her a message asking her if she knew that someone they once worked with had died. My mom obviously responded because it was about she had known passing away. He then talked to her a little about the person's death and then asked her to have her get in touch with him. She then told him look it was between him and me and that she was aware of what was going on. She informed him a deal was not going to happen and that he came on too strong and should give up. Apparently, she ended up telling him this twice. He finally called with information on how to cancel the policy a day later.

I am extremely unhappy with my dealings with Primerica. I realize that this is just one of their agents acting in this way, but nevertheless, having since read of other people's experiences with the company it seems to almost be a common theme. I find it despicable that one of their agents would use someone's death as a way to get in touch with a person who clearly was not interested in anything they had to say as evident by the fact their multiple messages and phone calls had been ignored. I am aghast at the audacity of the agent to think that he knows my schedule better than I do and to suggest meeting me at my job to get the signatures which frankly would have been unprofessional on my part as two of my three jobs involve working with young children and hence, I cannot allow anyone who has not been CORI checked in the vicinity.

I was on the verge of filing a harassment charge due to the number of messages and phone calls I received from the agent despite me telling him quite clearly that I wanted to cancel the policy. To give you an idea of how bad the messages and phone calls were, he could have easily rivaled a debt collector. I'm pretty sure Sallie Mae called less times on the one or two occasions I'm a week late on a student loan payment than what he called in a twenty-four hour period. All of this was with what was a family friend. I shudder to think of how their agents act towards people they have no prior relationship with. I strongly urge anyone considering to go with Primerica to reconsider that thought and go elsewhere.

They want to sign you up as fast as possible because they make bonuses based on such. I can't speak for those who charge your account before you tell them to, they're just overly anxious (and yes, that's shady). HOWEVER, no one forced you to give them your payment information before you were sure you wanted to sign up! No, you're probably not going to get your entire $99 registration fee back after you sign up because the first thing they do is run your background check. Which costs money and because that cost was already paid, no, you're not going to get it back! You don't HAVE to give them a list of people you know who you think might benefit from the company or from starting their own business. You're not paid to do such and again, no one's holding a gun to your head forcing you to do anything!!

It IS possible for you to use their products/services and NOT start your own business. Sure, A LOT of them are pushy because THEY have chosen to conduct business that way (how they're successful I'll never know.. Personally, I believe in karma and I don't think I need to tell anyone that sooner or later, they're going to fail!). Of course there are those who're in it to make as much money as quickly as possible by whatever means necessary, but there are also those who genuinely want to just help people get out of debt and become financially stable. If you come in contact with someone who's extremely pushy, ask them to leave your home and stop wasting your time. Stand up for yourselves, people!!

I personally attended one of their regional meetings and my sponsor gave me a free ticket in (typically $15). Have I signed up? No! Will I sign up? I still have A LOT of questions, but I'm keeping an open mind. I do NOT recommend these meetings because they're more motivational than anything else. You get VERY little training and VERY little advice. Can you get useful information? Sure! Can you make friends and meet mentors? Sure! Are they required? Of course NOT! They have this phrase: "People lie, numbers don't". There's some truth to that, but you have to get under the surface to find out what the numbers are based on to determine if the numbers lie or not. It's a personal choice how you do that. Can it be a pyramid scheme? If you choose to make it such. It's all up to you and how you yourself choose to "conduct" yourself and your (potential) business.

I have a business management degree and have tried to start my own businesses through Amway, Mary Kay, and some unbelievably expensive kitchen knife selling company (sorry, it was so long ago, I can't remember the company), and to be perfectly honest, they're ALL viewable as pyramid schemes. Why didn't those companies work? Because their products ARE expensive and they're not readily available regardless of their perceived value. We're all our own person with our own mind and if you "smell a rat".. Run! But don't let a few bad seeds spoil the bunch!

I am a student and was looking for a part-time flexible opportunity to bring in supplemental income. My roommate had just joined Primerica and I appeared to be going ok for him because he quit his job and went full time. At the "presentation" I was told I would be responsible for a one time fee of $99 and the company pays to get me licensed both life and series 6, then once they got my payment the opportunity changed. Now I had to pay an appointment fee $90 and a recurring $25 for online access. To get my series six I would have to pay for fingerprinting ($50*) and had to have full access on POL to get the free training @ $25. So all in all I'm out of pocket $200 to date, 4 months in, and I have zero returns.

Now, I was told you will get a bonus of $500 if you get your Series 6 and it's all paid for. I did my own research and come to find out its first come first serve was for only the first 500 people in the country to get the bonus, and you will have to have had at least $1000 in investments in 30 days to be eligible. There is a serious gap between the company's programs and what the agents are selling you. They are only interested in their own targets to make their own bonuses, i.e., number of recruits and number of policies sold. Beware of these agents. They are tarnishing a possibly good mission for the everyday American because of their personal agendas. I learned the hard way and $200 less for an already broke student.

After an interview with an agent I came home and did my research on the company before I took the "job". What I've read seems to all be true. After reading the reviews, I texted the guy I had the interview with "hey man why does the company have a 2 star rating if you say it's doing so well". So I waited for a reply and the whole time I was there he was on his phone so I suspect he'd text me back or call me but he didn't so I called him and he said "I received your text and I'm gonna have to get back with you." I assumed he had offered me a good job but I was mislead. I really needed a good job like that was supposed to be because my financial situation but if it seems too good to be true then it is. I've read a lot of negative on here for Primerica. I've got to say, there's a lot of people that obviously does not have a full understanding of what the company is all about. Your dissatisfaction is with the agents you've dealt with not the company. I've been a district leader for 3 years now and have written a few policies that are still in force and my client are still paying the same premium today as when the first bought their policies. The company does what it says and does the right thing by its clients 100% of the time. If you got "scammed" with a policy, then shame on you for not reading it before signing. When you were given your IBA supplement you should have read it because it tells you that you will not get the full $99 back. Look before you leap, people and get the facts before you dirty a good company's name. Your ignorance is not Primerica's fault.

Should've known better. Now going on my second year my rate change twice. I explain to them my situation in the beginning of being a single mom to three boys and living on a fix income. I was told my rate will stay the same when I first sign up. Then when I made my first year it increase a few more dollars. I called to asked why. When I was told it wouldn't the rep told me a bunch of BS but again told me she will put a stop on increase for future payment and if I want I can downsize and add more benefit to my policy which doesn't make sense when I was complaining about the increase. Now I'm going on my second year and again they increase it more. I wouldn't recommend this insurance to anyone because all they care about is the money not policy of people trying to have life insurance. When you call to cancel they try their best to keep you with them but not this year. I definitely will be canceling my policy this year. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!

When I first learned about Primerica, I had been a self-employed artist for many years. The agent helped me break down my finances into easy and digestible chunks of education. The complimentary Financial Needs Analysis was so insightful and gave me a lot of vision for my future. I found that the life insurance was comparable cost-wise to other companies but with better benefits. The Primerica Legal Protection Plan was such a god-send for me. I was able to get my legal documents in place with minimal hassle. I've been a client for 2 years now, and I recently paid off my car early using their debt-stacking method. I've improved my credit score enough that I was able to purchase a home. I've made a lot of improvements in my savings strategies, and while I'm not where I want to be yet, I know I'm on the right track. My Primerica representative is great!

From the negative reviews I've seen, it seems that most people don't like the network marketing approach that this company takes. Frankly, none of that matters to me as a client. I feel that I have been given exceptional service. I suspect that I have no complaints because I have a great representative. I'd encourage folks to not judge this company because of a few less experienced folks. Search around. I promise there are amazing reps out there. I know. I have one. And I'm very happy with all the guidance I have received.

I have checked around with a few other companies and this was the first one to explain to me the difference between different types of life insurance and educate me, friendly not pushy, honest and willing to get me the best product for my family. I would recommend and have to friends and family!

I was very skeptical when I first joined back in July of 2014. Yes, I did pay my $99 and then I drag my feet on taking the class and taking my exam. I'm now kicking myself in the butt for taking so long as I didn't get serious until the end of September. Once I finally got serious, I started making money. It helped me to step out of my shell and become more outspoken because now I speak to everyone I see.

November was a hard month, but I still hit my numbers and was the number 1 agent in our office with how much premium I brought in. I will admit, recruiting people to work with me is TOUGH, and it's not my favorite part of the business. You just do what you have to do. It's only hard because people who didn't make money or quit before they even started put that nasty bug in other people's ears and it soils the reputation for everyone. Then we have people who want an instant pay check without putting in the work.

I hate hearing the phrase "pyramid scheme". Think about this, the job you go to every day is a pyramid scheme also, just in reverse. Look around you and see how many co-workers you have. Probably several, then look at your manager, then look at your manager’s manager, and so forth until you get to the top, who's there? The president or owner of the company. You work 40 + hours a week for what? Sometimes $7.25 an hour, maybe more if you're lucky. Just think, that someone telling you that 1 hour of your time is only worth that. Yeah, you may make more than minimum wage, but just think about all the work you put in and what your take home is. Then think about how much work the president/owner puts in and how much money he's taking home. You'd be lucky to even make 1% of his take home. So before you call it a scheme, give it a chance. I'm sure 98% of these reviews on this page are because they came in under the wrong person. I was approached 3 times before I actually said yes.

Have you ever heard of MLM business? Yes it requires personal production as well as recruiting. There are so many lies in so many of these complaints against Primerica. I was a rep for Primerica for a couple years. I stopped because I didn't feel like I had the time to put into the business. I was a mom of 6 and my kids are very athletic, and I was missing lots of their events (my choice) because of training. I am an all or nothing kind of person. To me it didn't matter how much I made, I wanted to be there to see my kids sports! (Again my choice) During my time with Primerica I paid 2 death claims! Without me those 2 families would have been in a financial mess! Let me just tell you about one of these claims.

I had sat down with a single mom and prepared a financial needs analysis for her (for FREE). We talked about protecting her income by purchasing life insurance (a way to be sure her children were financially taken care of in the event she was not here on earth). She purchased life insurance with me that night. I believe it was $100,000 in coverage and decided to put $15,000 each on her 2 children. (This is for burial expenses- I'm sure you all have seen people doing car washes to help take care of unexpected deaths. It's expensive to die!!! Funerals are not cheap!!) So she wrote me a check for the first month of coverage, I left her that evening and processed the application the next day.

About 1 week later her son was hit by a car and killed! Little did I know the check she wrote me a week ago DID NOT CLEAR! It bounced! Guess what, Primerica never got a payment from this lady!! You know what Primerica did???? They gave me a $15,000 check to distribute to this heartbroken woman!!! That's a reputable company if you ask me!!!! Yes they sell life insurance! They also do Free Financial Needs analysis! Plus a lot more! It's not a get rich quick company! It's not a scam! You have to work! I got a check for every life insurance policy I wrote!!! If you are a real estate agent, you need to sell a house to get paid. Also once you get that real estate license I bet you tell everyone IN YOUR WARM MARKET that if they want to buy a house/sell a house come see you, and tell all their friends too!!! Right? Working through your warm market with any company does suck, but it gets you to many people.

This lady I sat with, I did not know her. She came from someone that I knew, that knew someone that knew someone else that knew her. Everything you do is referral based. You go somewhere because you've read a review. You make something because you've seen a recipe. Even blind dates are from some referral! It's a Pyramid!! I love that one! So is J.C Penny, Ross, Michaels, and every other business out there that you work for!!!! When you sell a pair of $200 Nikes at Penny's do you make $200? No!!! Chances are you make around $8.50 per hour! You just made MR. J.C Penny $191.50. Every Company you work for has an override system in place! It's just how you look at it! Go back to the realtor, If you do all the work and sell a house and the broker does NOTHING, does the broker get paid? Absolutely!!!

Primerica is a great company! Do your research on MLM business! Don't complain that you didn't make money in Primerica! If you didn't make money then you were not WORKING! THATS A FACT! Your $99 that you pay to get started, goes toward a background check! You cannot be a felon and work for Primerica! You also have to go to school to learn about insurance, they provide that!! Then you have to take a test to make sure you understand all the information you just learned on insurance! It's a STATE TEST!! Required by the state you live in! So maybe you walked into that Primerica office with NO insurance knowledge. You will have plenty of knowledge when you go to sit down with your clients to help properly protect their family!

Almost every complaint here is from people that were looking for that "miracle opportunity" to become rich!! I'm sure there are some ** out there that work for Primerica as well as any other company! Don't judge a company because of one idiot! Even though I do not work with Primerica, I stand behind them and what they stand for 100%

I went to a presentation and I was very disappointed. They claim is not MLM (multilevel). If it is not, then why Primerica keep pushing to recruit people?? If they are a finance company, they should focus on the products they sell not on asking the sales people to recruit and to invite people over to their presentations. This is what they asked me to do on one of the meetings: "Write a list of people you know who would you like to invite/or may be interested in Life Insurance." Isn't that a sneaky recruiting exercise? Then this AVP/SVP whatever did a presentation. He claimed he was making $10,000 a month after just two years. Now if a seller earns $100 for each Term life insurance sold, then it would mean he sells (10,000/100 = 100) One hundred Life Insurances per month! Is that feasible?? Even if he had 5 people under him, that still means that each of these persons would need to sell 20 insurances per month! Can you consistently find 20 persons per month to sell life insurance? After you are done with your friends and family, who else are you going to sell?

I read that the average Primerica agent only makes about $5,000 which about 3 to 5 insurances per month... that sounds about correct. The questions is you need to analyze the value of your time... Is it a good investment to put your time to earn the $400 to $500 per month? You need to calculate the amount of time you spent a week in seminars, trainings, presentations (about 4 hours) and visiting potential customers (few hours more). Then, you can decide if it is worth the effort. For me it is not. We had to meet twice a week... that was 4 hours already. Then call friends, visit people. It came to about $5.00 an hour... not to mention the cost of my calls, traveling, gas, etc.

Another thing that bothers me is that their presentations are about saving, the future, use money wisely, time value of money... all great things. However, when you join, you sell Life insurance. The presentations barely touch Life Insurance and most likely the agents do not sell any financial products: IRA, 401K, CD, Debt Credit Solutions, etc... It's all about life insurance even though the presentation mention other things. And in reference to this, I asked Primerica what does one need to sell Mutual Funds, IRAs etc (as I see this area could be more profitable) and nobody answered me??? I even posted this question in the FB Page... no answer. What is the mystery? Must likely you need a series 7 license from FINRA, but still do not know? They told me I have to ask my SVP\RVP whatever as to how I could get there. Anyhow, I just want to share my view and be very suspicious of their claims.

I have had the best coaches/sponsors since joining Primerica. It was not presented to me as a job but as a business opportunity for life, health and property insurance, annuities and other investments via presentation. They told me exactly what to expect. That I would have to study to get insurance and securities licenses. That it would be hard work---prospecting, cold calling, setting up interviews and qualifying people to work Primerica as a financial planner and helping people know how to work their money as they show people how to work their money. Whether it is Primerica or an appointed insurance or investment company, getting leads and prospects is the same. The difference is that you are not recruiting other agents unless that company provides incentive to do so.

I have had the greatest support to ensure my success. Commission only careers is not for the faint of heart and those who do not have the mindset to pursue it. Apologies to those who were mislead by the recruiters who told people Primerica is an hourly wage type of job. Although the market is for those who have a job or own a job (business owner who has to be present in order to make a living), this opportunity is for those who desire to be their own boss and own their own business and attain financial and time freedom.

If I could rate Primerica's policies aside from their "employees", I would but it does not allow it. I first saw the "opportunity" on my friend’s Facebook page where he presented Primerica as a "JOB", which we all know it is not. Even Primerica's instructor in -- said, "If you are trying to recruit people and you don't want to piss them off, don't tell them this is a job opportunity because they will be looking for an hourly job." So I replied to his post and asked him questions like, “What is it?” (Him) - “It’s a financial service company.” (Me) “What do you do? What does it consist of?” (Him) “Oh, we manage people's information. That’s why we ask for eligibility to pass a background check.” It sounded to me that he was ignoring my questions and going around them. I just don’t get it. Why not tell people the truth??

Any how I said, “But what exactly is it?” And he replied “Well, if you’d like, I can set up an interview and we can explain it to you.” Desperately looking for anything, I said yes. I also asked how much does it pay?? -- 1st honest thing he said was commission. But like any recruiter he said, “But you’ll be good, I have people working part time making 2000 a month.” I just saw $$$$$$. I thought well it’s something. After setting up interview, my friend who said he was the manager to make things sound legit. I met with him, his girlfriend and his recruiter, which he calls a manager. I could not believe how naive I was to believe them. The manager-recruiter made me sign a list of references which he said he was going to ask people of my customer service experience. I later found out he called my boss looking to set up an appointment for my training!! They used my reference list as a referral and a recruit list. I had to pay the 100 dollars which I never saw again. If they "help people", they sure didn’t care to help a single parent who was there to make money, not to invest it.

Overall, things with them were very unprofessional. Text messages at 10 pm. Pushing me to quit my paying job to work for them, having to do many recruits to get a promotion, to get paid. I understand it is a career, you have to go to school, get trained etc. But if they would’ve told me, I wouldn’t have done it, and like any good liar they didn’t. The thing that pissed me off the most was when they made me "train" with family to make me feel more comfortable but really it was just a bridge to selling life insurances. And of course they used me because they went after my parents first, knowing a parent would help their child out for training. But it wasn’t training it, I was the advertisement they needed to sell life insurance. Well I can go on and on.

The only good thing Primerica has to offer is their services. Who cares what these people say. I have worked for Farmers and Primerica. If the agents did their job correct and were trained properly and didn’t lie, Primerica would be ok. Term Life though is what experts say to get. Needless to say I quit shortly after being hired. It goes to show what kind of people stay in Primerica because I just reading this site, a Primerica employee said people need to know the facts before opening their mouths and putting bad reviews... WOW! More like you need to be more professional online and in person, then bad reviews would exist or bother or hurt your scam.

He didn't and part of the process with this company is a monthly charge for the use of their online website (which I understand working with the company you would then use their resources) but because Mr. ** did not cancel the account as he had confirmed to my boyfriend and I, now I have about $200 worth of monthly charges. When attempting to talk to someone regarding this very big problem, their only answer to me was, "I can forward this to a supervisor and they will contact you within 2-3 days." After 5 days and no phone call or information I called back for them to declare it was my responsibility and will not be refunding any amount as they supposedly emailed me to inform me of these charges every month.

I was approached by a hiring "manager" lol who works for a tire company on the side and gave me the gimmick. Told me that his insurance company is hiring and they are opening a bunch of offices . I went to a seminar in Sacramento and it sounded like a good company. Let me further note, YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO PAY MONEY TO BE HIRED BY AN EMPLOYER. This should be a major red flag! When I asked him about the 99 dollar fee on my application, he said it was for my state insurance testing. THIS IS A LIE. IT'S AN APPLICATION FEE. My boyfriend has multiple friends in the industry and they all told me they never paid a dime to be employed by state farm, progressive, etc. This isn't a real Insurance company, they sell certain services but that's it.

After doing my research as soon as I got home I texted the man who recruited me that I was no longer interested AND HE TOLD ME TOO LATE HE ALREADY RAN MY PAYMENT. He said I may get my money back if they decline my application, that I was no longer qualified and I wasn't an opportunity seeking leader he thought I was. LOL! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. YOU MAKE MONEY ONLY BY RECRUITING OTHERS. I couldn't scam people for a living, so apparently I'm not a opportunity seeking leader. Ha!

I am not reviewing Primericas financial products in this review, nor am I reviewing the personal performance of my friend who introduced me to Primerica. The financial products are focused & competitive, and my friend is a terrific person. What I am reviewing is Primerica as a business opportunity, and the consequences of the pyramid-like multilevel network marketing structure used by the business.

The short version of the review of the job opportunity offered by Primerica is this: You're not selling financial products; you're selling a pyramid-style marketing business. A pyramid structure ignores economic Law of Supply & Demand, & Law of Diminishing Returns. It is a cult-like atmosphere of pep rallies & cheering to distract you from facts & clear thinking. You are not guaranteed any wages at all; it is pure commission, so you have to go all-in. You market first to your loved ones, before you have time to understand what you're selling. The only established way to succeed is to get people to join the business under you. They first want you to give them a list of your friends & family members phone numbers. Once they have your list of phone numbers, it doesn't matter to them if you quit. They ask you to script your conversations with loved ones, so you draw them in to the game. They will call your contacts, mention your name to build trust, & use slick marketing on them. The scripted marketing uses vague & misleading statements to build undeserved trust. Once I joined the business and looked behind the curtain, I felt sleazy.

My friend recently made Regional Vice President (RVP), so I know some people can succeed in the business. You would just have to be comfortable with the things you're asked to do, and do it. If you follow their script, you know enough people, and you are a naturally outgoing person, you will have a shot at success. If you don't think you're extroverted or outgoing enough, or if you have any qualms about selling your family on joining a business before you've been in it long enough to understand it or receive any paychecks, this isn't for you.

If you have already signed up as a Primerica agent and you want to quit, you can get refunds for everything except $30 for a background check if you do it soon enough & in the right way. I paid $100 for my Independent Business Application & background check, and $25 for one month of Primerica On Line. They said they will refund all of it but the $30. Generally you should request a refund before a month has passed. You need to have your Solution Number handy too; that's your agent number.

I called CallAtlanta Billing at (888) 737-2255, pressed 1 for billing, and spoke to an agent quickly, who refunded me the $25 for POL after he found my account using my Solution number, then he gave me the email for the IBA refund. For the IBA refund, you send an email to us.iba.refunds@primerica.com with your full name, address, phone number, solution number, and a brief description of why you want the refund. An approval email should arrive within a week.

So far the process of quitting and requesting refunds was pretty easy. I also called my RVP friend, and he took it well. I think he knew I was going to quit, since I had been dodging his calls & cancelling appointments last week. I am going to continue having him help my family & I with our financial needs. We love him & the services he provides through Primerica; we just don't want to be agents ourselves, because of the multilevel network marketing structure of the business.

That was about two months ago and I have never heard from him since. I have called his cell and sent multiple texts that were never responded to. I even stopped by his new office a couple of times unannounced, to find an unlocked office looking identical to what it did when he moved in. Stay away from this particular office! I was a bit skeptical at first but he was very kind and upfront about the business and the intentions of his call. I decided to hear him out. I met him, with my friend, at a restaurant where he shared with me the business opportunity. He told me that I SHOULD NOT JOIN if I am looking for a "get rich quick" scheme. He told me that I could build a successful business with Primerica if I had a good work ethic, believed in the company and stood by its products.

I enjoyed the presentation and bought a policy. I like the fact that the initial $100 fee covers the exam and license fee, as well as a background check and fingerprints. Here in Valdosta, GA: the finger prints alone cost about $60. I wanted to join the company but could not afford to pay for the policy and the initial fee. He told me that it would be best if I waited until I was financially stable to enter a business venture. He was very honest and advised me to do things that were in MY best interests rather than his.

I think I was strategically tricked into not fully completing it because it will become an alibi for me to go to their office, so they can make me attend a "meeting". I never signed anything except half of a term life insurance application. The next day I was told last minute to wear business attire and go to their office. I checked my bank account and found out I was charged 99 dollars. I called customer service and I was told I signed a contract to go to their licensing program. I told them I did not and asked them if this is the same as the life insurance application I signed and they said no.

I said I need a refund but I was told I will only get a refund if I send them a requirement by email and I will only get 69 refund and not my 99?! What nonsense! So I told their "financial adviser" what happened and she agreed to fix the problem. I ended up filing a dispute with my bank. What a headache. And I waited if the financial adviser retracted whatever hocus pocus scam she did. I saw I was refunded only 69 dollars maybe after she said she'll fix it. Good thing I did not complete the requirements to buy from them. I never want to see this company’s face on this earth. They should get punished for doing this to people. I'm praying hard that they don't sell whatever information they got from me.

I'm thinking "yeah sure I don't have anything else to do". Well she comes to my apartment and she has her friend with her. So she drives about 30 minutes to Dallas, Texas. All the drive there she NEVER mentions what we are about to go do. That's my fault, because I am an adult and I should've asked.

Well we get to this tall building and go up to this office space that's not too big at all. And we are about the 1st people there. So it starts to get crowded and the program starts. It starts off as showing someone how they can save money for retirement, etc. I thought that was interesting. THEN it takes a turn for the worst. The guy who is over the office starts talking about how we can make money, and how he went from poor to making over $400,000 A MONTH WITHOUT A DEGREE NOR WITHOUT INVENTING SOMETHING. I'm thinking to myself you're not Bill Gates or Warren Buffett. Cause if you DID make that amount, you would own your own building and expand it.

So anyway I'm already calling bull crap on that and I stop paying attention. So he gives us a 5 MINUTE BREAK and I'm honestly looking at my manager like I'm ready to go. So she decides to get up and leave me there for her "friend that recruited her" to prey on me. He starts off by asking did I like the presentation, and I’m like "I only like the part about investing your money wisely." So he starts to try and recruit me. So I'm looking crazy like I KNOW he see my face. So he asks for my bank card (WHAT DO I LOOK LIKE GIVING A STRANGER MY BANK CARD???!!!) I ask why? and he says "it's to enroll you on our website and it's $99." I tell him I don't have my card on me (which I did). So after that my manager decides to bring her ** back over there.

So fast forward she drops me off at home, but she also tries to recruit me on the drive home. So she says to just hear it out in depth over lunch tomorrow. So I agree, cause hey it's free food lol. We get to the restaurant and he unsuccessfully tries YET AGAIN. I flat out tell them I'm not interested for like the 5th time (they really don't take no for an answer). She asks why and I lie and say I don't have the $100 that they require, and get this, she OFFERS to pay the deposit!!!!!! I busted out laughing cause that's DESPERATE when you are willing to pay $100 for someone to "start a job".

I don't know any company that will pay for you to join them, tf?! So she sees I'm annoyed and the waiter brings the check. Guys the check was $20 no lie. So her and her recruiter (the one who makes over $10,000 a month doing nothing for real, according to him) argue over how much money they both need to pay. I'm like, yeah I KNOW these people aren't making money like they claim. I let her drop me off and about 3 weeks later I moved outta state. My advice to anyone considering this place is this: NO COMPANY should have to HOUND you to join their team, NOR should "employees" be so willing to pay $100 to "help" you make money. Ya'll the people they get to sign up they get money!!! DON'T BE A FOOL!!!

We fell for the whole talk about everything being cheaper and better... Oh how we were wrong. We switched our life insurance and opened a Roth IRA with them. We started out with 4 separate accounts with the IRA and every time we called customer service and would request a payment to be skipped and had the documentation it would always be taken out and then it was a fight to get the money deposited back into our bank account. With no notice one of the accounts was canceled. This was discovered when the auto payment was not taken out. A phone call was made and was told that they are no longer offering that account so it was closed. It was a fight to get the money that was in that account back.

Then few months later they started taking out the payment for a non-existent account and once again it was a fight to get the money returned. Each time we spoke to customer service there was never anyone who actually had a clue to anything that was going on. The accounts were set up in my husband's name instead of mine (money was coming from my paycheck and my account and I am older and will retire 10 years sooner than my husband) so no money that I have contributed towards my retirement will I ever get to see or use.

The life insurance instead of being written as 3 separate policies, was written as 1 with riders listed. When we went to cancel some of the policy as we switched to another company, it was a 2 month ordeal to cancel part of the policy and change the policy owner. When we started the policies we listed beneficiaries, secondary and third beneficiaries to cover all possible bases. When the agent and company wrote it they only included the primary beneficiaries on it. The policy was switched to a paper only billing and 2 months in they started taking it out electronically again and not only once but 2 payments were taken out in 1 day.

We have friends of ours that chose to do the whole home loan thru them and were told that if they made double payments each month it would have the house/loan paid off faster. It was discovered that the second payment was set up by Primerica to only go to pay on the interest of the note and nothing to the principal. So for over 5 years they were making 2 payments and the principal amount was not going down, they were basically paying only interest... so only money in the company's pocket. If you have Primerica get rid of them.....

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PRIMERICA!!!! I am going to tell everyone I know. We had an IRA and life insurance with Primerica. My wife works for a school where she only gets paid the months she work so 3 month in the summer we don't put anything to the IRA and for some reason they always just take the money out of our account anyway. After calling and making sure 4 to 5 times it is stolen from us. After only three week they will replace it. The most recent is the life insurance. We found a better rate from a more reputable company and dropped policies on my wife and daughter but because some health issues we had to leave my policy alone. This is too much for them to understand. They now have taken 2 payment out of our account at the amount for the policy with the 3 of us. Never let them have access to take money from your account. They will screw it up. In my opinion that Primerica has the worst customer service and products but sell you a complete line of B.S. Watch out.

I just want people to open their eyes a little. It is not for everyone! Nineteen or so years ago I "applied" for a job with Primerica. I got caught up in it till I figured I needed to be a salesman to pull this off. I can smell a skunk. I know when people can smell a skunk. I do not like selling anything because you have to believe you can sell skunks to someone who hates skunks. I bagged out. My father-in-law owned a mortgage company that tanked when all of the rest of them did. He was out of work doing whatever, for god knows who, for at least two years. When he told me he was working with Primerica I thought he was perfect for the job. He could sell in other words. He shakes my hand like he is trying to sell me something every time I meet him. He is doing well and is now on a company paid trip in Austria. He has been cruising around there for a week. I am happy for him, he deserved a break.

Primerica is not for everybody. Selling is tough. I sold cars (ugh!) for about a week. I also walked door to door in the hot Abilene sun, shirt and tie, selling burial plots and caskets. Try selling death door to door. Who wants to buy a casket from some dude on their front porch? Primerica got three stars from me because it is not for everyone, yes not everybody can be an astronaut, not everyone can be a salesman. Everyone starts at the bottom. Become a Pharaoh and build a pyramid!

My wife and I were asked by a friend trying to get into a new "career" to have a financial planner create a report for us. We agreed to meet with the "planner" and the friend at our house. The planner barely spoke English and it was obvious she was new to the US. She showed us a report on our finances and how ending our mortgage and taking a personal loan with them would save us "big" money, and then we could use that money to buy life insurance from them. The planner kept complimenting us on our "lovely" home, bs... It is a 2 br split level in a lower middle neighborhood, not much lovely about it. I was intrigued where this was going so when we were invited to a "Financial Conference" to discuss how we could make lots of money in our off hours, I had to attend.

The event was held at the regional training center, everyone there were young, mainly married couples, who were not making more than $30k a yr, most were poorly educated, with dreams of grandeur in their heads. Our "planner" kept telling me what a smart guy I was, she didn't know how correct she was, I had years of education in business, was a former real estate agent and have a 140+ IQ.

I wasn't buying this ploy. They spoke about financial independence, huge homes and fast cars, these "kids" were drooling, eager to get started. After the talk, the "planner" asked us to join her in a meeting room. We started discussing our "financial plan" again with the twist of us becoming part-time salespeople for them. When I began questioning how she was able to sell insurance and financial securities without a state license, she insisted she wasn't selling insurance or financial services, when I pressed her she went and retrieved her husband who also worked for Primerica as a recruitment manager. I posed the same questions to him, he stated that they didn't need licenses because they weren't actually selling anything except for the services of Primerica and they had licensed underwriters and PC's to do the paperwork. I told them I wasn't interested and felt they were skirting the state and federal laws on insurance and securities, they acted insulted but quickly allowed us to leave as they wanted to keep us as far away from the inductees as possible.

Is it a "scam" not in the context that you are swindled without receipt of anything, what they are is an insurance company masquerading as a financial services and consulting company. Everyone can and should obtain good financial planning advice from someone who is truly educated in all aspects of securities, savings, loans/mortgages, tax code and yes insurance, that is free and unbiased as possible from individual companies products, but Primerica is a poor substitute for a true licensed PC/financial planner.

I am not just angry, I am furious. My boyfriend and I went to a Primerica meeting as an invitation from a friend's brother. We enjoyed the presentation, and told them we were interested in joining the company. We are young, in college, and thought, "hey, a cool job offer!" They were extremely, unnaturally excited for us to join. This is because by manipulating us and convincing us to work for the company, they got promoted. Basically, the people they hire are not employees, they are just young adults who they require convince their family and friends to use Primerica. By doing so, they get a sale, and the people who hire you get promoted. You are nothing to them. You are just another sale.

So, after realizing this after the FIRST ORIENTATION, we told them we were no longer interested and went on our way. However, it turns out that they have been calling our employee references (which they required TEN personal references) behind our backs, saying that we personally recommended them for Primerica. What a great company. Way to take advantage of two 19 year olds. You go.

My Husband and I just received a refund check of two months worth of premiums. I am glad that this is resolved but I still feel this company is not worth investing life insurance with. I still have my 401K rollover with them but after the year is up I will be rolling it over into my work 401K.

    Original Review: Sept. 14, 2014

My husband and I had the Primerica rep come to our home and all I wanted was help with finding a rollover form from my previous 401K plan. Then it all started with Life Insurance and rolling the 401K plan so the stupid people we are decided to go with Primerica for Life Insurance. Then our current Life Insurance Rep came to our house and went over our policy. We decided to stay with them. So I call the Primerica Rep to cancel the policy but that I decided to roll over the 401K to Primerica. I thought she was going to cancel the Insurance Policy, I was wrong. I looked at my bank account last night and the premium of $92.83 was taken out.

I call the rep and left a message letting her know that I was not happy and that I had told her I wanted to cancel the Policy, beside she did not come out to my house so that my husband and I could sign to cancel the policy. Now today, I called her again and told her to call me as soon as possible that I wanted to know why she did not cancel the policy and that I want my money back. As far as the 401K rollover that is another bad investment that I did. I lost $600.00 of my previous 401K to roll this into Primerica. I felt that I was not told that they were going to take out 4%. I should of listen to my gut when it was telling me something is not right. Overall, I am not a happy person right now and I am recommending not to do busy with this Insurance company.

I did read most of the comments made about Primerica.com and the one universal comment most made were they describe the business opportunity as a job. It is not a job. Most also describe it as a "scam", a "pyramids scam". Have you ever heard anyone say "I went to college and it was not good so I quit", "They worked for-XYZ Company for 30 to 40 years and all they gave me was a gold watch". Or they will say "I went to college for 4 years and now I work at McDonald's or Wal-Mart because I can't find a job as a lawyer", so now I work as a doorman at some high riser. Where you work now, is not a "pyramid"?. The JOB is making money and they are paying you what they feel you are worth, you don't decide.

Primerica give you the opportunity to do better and it is yours if you do the work. The Insurance Industry/State in whatever line of work, requirement is you must have a license to provide the services that Primerica market. FINRA demands you are license to offer Securities, and Primerica pays for all your license, if you do the work. The companies incentive/trips, to 5 star resorts, are all paid for by the company, and all your business expenses are tax deductible like in any business. Where can you open and operate a business for $99 and perform any license transaction for $25/month. Just do the work. You can do it all yourself and get 100% return on your efforts, or you can build you business with 10+ reps and get 1/10% for all and make more $$$. If you do it yourself, you must do it every day, and then how much can you do everyday.

With the turn over most companies have, including Uncle Sam Armed Services is always recruiting, and they don't treat you any better. I guess the vaseline they use is better, because that is what you deserve. The "Commission Pay" business may not be for you, as with being a police or a President or an Emergency room nurse, but somewhere out there you will need a Primerica Rep to help you build your "Goals and Dreams", so you can enjoy a happy retirement.

Primerica changed my financial life for the better. Calling this company a scam that sells expensive products is an opinion, not a well researched fact. The investment firms, credit bureau services, partners and investors associated with Primerica as well as their A+ rating with the BBB and AM Best present a more creditable evaluation of the company than comments from the peanut gallery. Primerica gave me affordable level term life insurance with non-tobacco rates that bested State Farm. I opened a Roth IRA with American Funds which has among the lowest fees for actively managed mutual funds in the industry. I saved $500 for the year on auto/renter's insurance by switching from Liberty Mutual to Safeco (ironically a Liberty Mutual company) through Primerica's comparative property/casualty quoting system. I've since become a fully licensed associate and I am helping my friends and family receive the same financial benefits I experienced. Thanks Primerica!

Primerica is very simple "financial services". You meet with a customer and refer them to an auto sales person, a property sales person, a debt consolidation person and get a few dollar for giveaway potential sale a real agent could have made commission and renewals on. The only thing YOU actually sale is bad term life policies, annuities, and retirement product - which is not a horrible thing in and of itself except for the HUGE overrides on all products until they work your way up the pyramid. I understand overrides are part of the industry, but it is set up to have no bottom on who can get overrides. You are taught every customer should be presented an opportunity to work for you as an agent - I within a few days when I realized what is was.

I have been working with Primerica for 6 years now and I'm grateful I stayed with them (I make about $5,000/month and sometimes more depending if I sell or not security products). The beginning was not easy, you have to actually work and try to find your own clients if you want to make your own money. Once you meet with a client and make a good impression (you have to believe in what you do and enjoy it) on him, you can get referrals from Every client you meet. If you have charm and a great personality you are more likely to succeed. Also you have to stay positive because remember that good things in life don't come easy!

A couple of weeks ago, my really good friend asked me if she could give my phone number to her friend who had a job offer. My FIRST reaction was,"Whoa, no, don't give out my phone number!" But at the time, I was really miserable at my job and looking around so then I thought, "Sure, why not!"

So I got a call from the friend of my friend and she left a voice mail on my phone saying that her business was looking to open new branches all over my city and they were having a hiring frenzy. THAT was the second red flag. In my opinion, something is off if you're chasing people down to work for you instead of people vying for your attention. Also, anytime I hear the words "residual", I am immediately suspicious (third red flag). But she sounded so nice and passionate that I decided to schedule an interview. BUT THEN SHE TEXTED ME (fourth red flag). I don't think that's professional AT ALL!

So on the day of my first interview, I wasn't feeling well so I TEXTED her asking her to reschedule for the NEXT WEEK and she said,"I strongly recommend that you keep your appointment." (Fifth red flag) That felt threatening! And, if you're an in-demand business, shouldn't you automatically cross me off the list as an unprofessional waste of time? YES! But instead she asked me to come in on Saturday (even though I had asked to reschedule for next week) and since I felt bad and didn't want word to get back to my friend, I said yes.

So today was the interview. The building was really suspicious. It was hidden behind a bank (that she didn't even know the name to) and it wasn't near any real city- kind of in between towns (sixth red flag). When I entered, I couldn't find the office, it wasn't numbered (seventh red flag)! When I found the office, there were only two people in there (eighth red flag). It all seemed very...shallow and hardly lived/worked in (ninth red flag). Shouldn't there have been more financial education stuff?

So I meet the Vice President of that office and he asks me what I'm looking for. Then he spends the next half-hour basically selling the company to me, which, he shouldn't have had to do (tenth red flag). At one point he said he could tell that I was very personable and that I'd be good for the job, even though I'd hardly said 3 things (eleventh red flag). The whole time the girl was just sitting next to me nodding her head (twelfth red flag). And all the while he's trying to sell the company to me, I'm not learning anything. I wanted to hear new financial terms and he was so vague (thirteenth red flag). It all sounds too good to be true.

He said all the client are recommended so we wouldn't have to chase anyone down. He wrote out how the training schedule would work. I would follow someone to the clients' houses and help them, and every client I got, I would make $1,000 every month from them. And there are meeting/classes on Wednesday nights and conference calls on Sundays. So for 7-10 hours a week I could make $3,000 a month. He told me about the $99 for the background check and something else- I can't remember (when I left I remember thinking that I'd never had to pay for my own background check before - fourteenth red flag). Then he told me about all the paid vacations he gets and showed me the pictures on the walls of them.

That's what did it for me because it all seems so showy - but it felt like it had no substance. I hadn't learned ANYTHING. He didn't INTERVIEW me, he was SELLING ME THE JOB. Shouldn't I have been convincing him on why he should hire me? He gave me his cell phone too and they both told me how precious their time was so not to waste it. Also, the friend of my friend didn't walk me out. She just left me at the door. It was very impersonal. I thought we'd talk about our mutual friend at least for a quick second!

I already had a feeling this job is really a Pyramid Scheme. I don't trust it. I regret giving out my phone number. It all seemed backwards and I'm glad I haven't yet given the $99 and I would've been APPALLED to try to recruit my family/friends. I'd love to find a job to help people and make money and make my own schedule but...this is not it.

I have had so many insurance companies do phone interviews and tell me I am exactly what they are looking for and want to meet with me and get the ball rolling. The day after I put my resume out on a certain site, Primerica called me. We were disconnected. She called again. Then another woman called and wanted me to come in ASAP. I set up an interview for the next day. In the meantime I researched the company and found pretty much the same thing that is on this site everywhere. I sent them an e-mail canceling my interview and told them why. They should be ashamed. All of them they make people think they may have a job then instead want to offer them a "business opportunity". Also to the person on this site that responded to the complaints and said it may be zealous agents. You go after desperate people and offer them hope. I had 3 calls from you within 12 hours of posting my resume. It seems to me the zealous agents are because of you.

Just the fact that these negative people are complaining without even fully understand the basics of what they're getting into worries me. You're scaring people with false information. It's the same thing as idiots crying wolf about banks scamming them because they got an over-draft fee when they could care less to monitor their bank account. If you cry "SCAM" regardless, people will get flustered and scared. Be knowledgeable about what you're talking about before you open your mouth.
