My enrolment at Ashford was really smooth. I had some challenges learning as some classes were a little harder than others. But overall, I had a great experience. Ashford is a great school. I liked and enjoyed attending it. You have to be determined to be able to do it. There should be no procrastination.

I am a T-Mobile employee in a leadership position and I was searching through some of the benefits that we have for working with T-Mobile. A full tuition on leadership grant was one of the option. There was a list of schools and the one that attracted me the most based off its reputation in business was Ashford University. So, I filled out an interest form and then, I was able to meet with an enrollment counselor. I liked the structure and the way that Ashford University or University of Arizona Global Campus structures their courses where it's one course at a time. It's fast-paced but essentially flexible for somebody who's a full-time employee and had other responsibilities.
The enrollment process itself was great. Everybody was easily accessible and what benefited me the most was that Ashford is a West Coast-based company. Most of the places that I needed to get ahold of were either in the West Coast or using Mountain Time. So with me being on the East Coast, it gave me even more of an advantage with flexibility and being able to reach somebody. Through my time at Ashford, I've had to partner with my academic advisors. I've partnered with financial aid and the grants team, and even with IT when I was having issues. And I didn't have any issues.
From a student standpoint or a learning standpoint, the only opportunity for improvement is the way that certain professors structure the group work. When you're doing, in essence, online learning or distance learning, group work can be very difficult depending on time zones and what the day looks like for everybody in the group. About three of my classes required group work and that's where I struggled the most. I had to communicate with my professors more often than usual and that needs to improve. They should determine a way of scheduling a specific time or limiting the group work to you and one other person. Every class that I had group work in was a group of between three to five different students, and it was chaos at that point.
I actively and openly recommend Ashford University to people that work with T-Mobile and even outside of T-Mobile. It's a great program. They gave me the foundation that I need to excel in my career. I've been looking for a job since graduating in September and I got it today. A few hours ago, I was in my final interview for this salary, administrative, generously compensating position. I was talking about what Ashford did for me academically and personally. They gave me the structure, the maturity and the confidence to go out there and sell myself for a manager position.

I work full time and have a really sporadic schedule with my work. University of Arizona offered me the ability to be able to do the schoolwork when I had time to do it and not necessarily on a set schedule. The enrollment was really smooth, just a couple emails back and forth and filling out some paperwork. However, the learning experience was challenging. I had to manage my time properly to make sure that I got all the work done because it was a short schedule. But I learned a lot and I retained a lot as well. There were some professors that were harder as far as grading, but I appreciated that more because it held me more accountable for the mistakes that I made.

I called the university and had an advisor help me with the enrollment. She really set me up. I liked that lessons were fully online and I can do it on my own time because I work full time and I have kids. I got a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.

I called FAFSA because for some reason, none of the schools I was adding would bring up the Pell Grant. I had to go to an online school. It had to be one based out of California and they suggested Ashford. The enrollment was pretty easy. I was very skeptical at first because I have gone to other online schools in the past. I was always told I had to pay an X amount. I would be in the middle of the first class and would then be told, “Oh, actually, it's this amount.” But with Ashford, everything was upfront. They gave a really nice military discount and that was awesome. It all ended up working out. I liked the accelerated classes. You take one at a time and that works for me very well.
I had interactions with my Principles of Finance professor. He gave me a lot of great advice. There was only one professor that I had a somewhat negative experience with. His teaching style didn't work for me and he didn't really like to answer my question. He liked to beat around the bush to try and get me to answer my question. That Philosophy class was the only one I somewhat struggled with. Even when I did my best in my discussions, he would still mark me down for that. That was stressful. Other than that, my professors have been great and very helpful.

I inquired a little bit more about Ashford online then I received a phone call as soon as I was done inquiring, and that phone call led to the enrollment. I liked that the length of the class was short. I was able to make my own schedule as far as scheduling classes. At first, I was doing one class at a time, but I was doing them back-to-back, and so, as soon as one was done, I would start another one. That became too much after a little while, so then I started taking a week break and they were very flexible with that, so it was pretty cool. There was one instructor that we didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things. It seemed as if the way he was grading was extremely meticulous. He didn't like the way that I answered things and I just felt that he was very opinionated, so I reached out to him with the emails. We never could come to an agreement. I still ended up passing the class. It wasn't the most pleasant experience, but that was okay.

When I enrolled at Ashford, the lady was awesome. She stuck by me and helped me with my loan and how to do everything because I didn’t know how to start. There was always somebody to help me but if I couldn’t find anybody else for anything I needed to know, she was always there. I had one mean professor but at the end of the day, she was only pushing me to do my best in what I was doing. Ashford was great to me. I had questions and they called me back. I enjoyed going there. It was the best school for me.

I was working with a lady who was taking classes in the University of Arizona as well, and I looked in it for myself. At that time, I was a single parent so I needed something where I could get my degree and be able to get a job with better pay. I had several surgeries while taking classes and they were always very accommodating and willing to give me some time off in order to recoup and not have to worry about stuff being turned in. So, it was nice because I was worried.
I only had probably two professors that I didn't like and didn't work with me. So other than that, everybody was great. Everybody was flexible and was willing to answer my emails on time and give me the feedback that I needed. So that was great because doing it online can be a little different. The university wants a well-rounded education but a couple of the classes weren't technically necessary. Still, everything went good. I was supposed to fill out an application as far as paying back the federal grants and student loans and all that mess, and I completely forgot.

I went to Ashford for my Bachelor's. I had more steps during my enrollment but it was really easy. The academic advisors were very helpful. My learning experience was very well-coordinate. I like to do things online and it was really amazing. The professors gave a lot of feedback. There were very few professors that did so in a timely manner but other than that, they provided feedback in ways to help me do better the next time if I was having problems. My professor ended up publishing one of the papers I did for my peers to view. That gives students a sense that they are doing it right and helps them see where they are. If they are excelling, it highlights that. So, I appreciate what he did.

I love Ashford. It's a great school. All the professors are so professional. The actual scheduling is the key to the success of the school because it's a routine that doesn't change from undergrad to graduate. That format to me is easy to work around. So regardless of what type of job you have, you're able to push through it. It was really important for Ashford to make sure that you'd succeed. I've never been to a university or college that cares so much about the success of its students. They don't really care if you make it or not. But with Ashford, there was just a tad bit different, which was the reason why I went back to graduate school.

I got my bachelor's and two master's degrees at Ashford. I was very pleased and that's why I came back. The time management aspect of it worked in my favor and so did the acceleration of the classes. It was beneficial for someone who has a full-time job and is raising children. It took me a year and a half on my bachelor's and about the same on the master's. It was very efficient and I loved the timeframe.

It was a great experience with Ashford. I was able to work when I needed to and get my assignments turned in on time. I learned a lot. A lot of the subjects were very intriguing. The teachers made sure that they would give us assignments that were things that we needed to research to. I had one professor who wrote a letter for me being a reference for entering Honor Society. So, it was a great experience to be able to have a professor say nice things about you. Because of the flexibility, Ashford allowed me to be able to do it during the time period in my life when I was pregnant, and having a son and a newborn. A lot of things were going on and Ashford was perfect to be able to accomplish something for myself as well.

Enrolling with Ashford was easy. I filled things out online and that same day, somebody got in contact with me and got me through the whole process. But, they should get back to people in a timely manner. I had one situation wherein I uploaded my final for a class in a format where my teacher couldn't read it. As soon as he sent me that email, I re-uploaded it in a different format and sent it back. He didn't change the grades in time and so grades came out and I was looking at having to pay my TA back because I got a D in the class. It ended up getting fixed but that was kind of annoying. Other than that, I had mostly good experiences with Ashford.

I enjoyed the classes at Ashford and the processors as well. They were all very good. There was one that was a little gruff but that’s to be expected. You can't have a good one every time. I liked the speed and I was able to do the homework on my time. I didn't have to be in a brick-and-mortar classroom to be able to work on things and it works great with my work hours. I graduated from Ashford with my bachelor's degree and I was wondering how I was going to get my degree because I paid the 150 that I was supposed to pay. I don't know how to contact them. I have not returned to classes at the University of Arizona and I don't know if I'm going to because $60,000 to pay back is a big chunk of change. And I'm having issues being able to utilize my degree.

My learning experience at Ashford had its good and bad days. I didn't have any instructors that weren't willing to help or didn't get back to me in a timely manner, so my experience was pretty good with them. I actually had to do the work to get the grade that I deserve. It was challenging at times because of time management for me. But all in all, an easy experience, something that was beneficial. This was my first experience with online and I felt like it was the way it was supposed to be.

Attending the University of Arizona was great. It was easy for me to do and work full time, and still be a wife and mother and do all the other stuff. It was convenient for me and the schedule was easy. You had to stay motivated and dedicated, but it was doable. The learning experience was good. I could learn what I needed to and test what I needed to, got reports and it wasn't too much. But I was never bored. I tell my coworkers that if I can do it, they can do it.

The flexibility, not having to focus on multiple classes, and the five-week courses were awesome. I only had problems with one of the professors. He gave me a zero on a paper saying it was plagiarized for the most part. When we Turnitin, they read it, it was only 25% or 30%, but the common words were 60%. But it was over a very common subject and I tried to argue my fact. I ended up getting a D or a C in the class. Even with the zero, I still achieved a passing grade. It's very cost-effective. If I'd go to a four-year degree now, I'd probably double the cost of what it was to take my degree.

In comparison to other stuff that I've looked at, Ashford University was the easiest to navigate. I got in really quick and I was always able to get in touch with someone. When I was first signing up, I didn't want to go to college that I didn't know what it was for. I was a little confused but they were flexible with me not knowing and they tried to ask the right questions to guide me. I ended up starting out trying to get a doctor's in entrepreneurship then switching to positive studies which I loved.
The online textbooks were convenient and easy to navigate. I like their 24-hour tutoring. I also like that you could submit a paper then it will be peer-reviewed. It is college so sometimes, I felt, "Oh, it's just me out here. I got to learn to swim. I don't really have somebody to reach out to." But the times that I did have complications, it was very few. There was one instructor that if I did have questions, she would evade the question. Out of everybody, she was the only one that gave me a hard time. I passed the class but it was like not the way that I liked. But I'm glad I went to this school because I learned so much and I made so many great connections. I'm happy that it gave me the chance to get one step further in my goals in life.

My ex-husband was military so a lot of his co-workers went to University of Arizona. They took good care of military spouses and families. So, we decided to take that route because that would have been best for our life at that time. I absolutely loved it. They offered to pay for my books so financially, that helped a lot. Our enrollment counselors were very helpful. I'm especially glad how they were always able to answer phone calls or if I couldn't get with them that day, they would call me back at a better time. They had all the information I needed and answered every single question I had about moving forward and getting ready to start my journey at college.
I liked the learning experience. All the issues I ever had were mainly my fault being a first-time college student. But whenever I needed help, the teachers were always there to answer questions in test-taking. It was a very good experience for being a first-time college student. University of Arizona is very professional and prepares students for the future.

The enrollment process was seamless and my experience was a little bit better than I thought. It went really well. Ashford has a very high standard of professors in terms of their education. I was kind of impressed with the professors' backgrounds. Some of them have Harvard degrees and Stanford degrees. There might have been an MIT professor too.
My company paid for every penny of it because I maintained my GPA. I have two minor things and I didn't know them until somebody else I know graduated with her master's from another school. I did have a 4.0 GPA but Ashford doesn't have an honor society at the master's level nor do they recognize that on your bachelor's degree. To me, if you maintain a 3.5 or above at a master's level, you should be able to somehow see that on your degree and/or maybe be a part of a club or a group or a program that you could use for networking, for bouncing ideas off of each other or for mutual friendship.
Six weeks is a short time to get a lot of information in but that's how a lot of the online schools work. When I first started, I did ask was there a way that we could be having more of an over the computer or online computer learning with the professor. You would have to meet one night a week at a specific time for an hour so you could at least be in a virtual classroom. That could make the program a little more professional and a little bit more attractive to someone else. Ashford was saying that was going to be something they were going to be working on. It didn't happen during the time of my programming so I just went ahead and kept pushing on. Outside of your due date for your coursework, you didn't have to be present.

Ashford University has the five-week classes, which is quicker. With my VA benefits, I was able to double it up, so I did two years of college in a year and a half. The professors were great. If I had an issue with certain things, I could reach out to them and they'd always get back to me quickly and work things out so we could get a quicker resolution to the issue. I have a BA in Homeland Security and Emergency Management and I have since started a dual Master's in the same field. I've already sent two of my other soldiers over as well and they're currently enrolled taking classes.

The process from beginning to end at Ashford should be streamlined. When things don't work out as their website states, I should still be able to access the University and know what's going on. I should not have to feel like an outsider trying to figure out what's next. There should be just as many people willing to help me figure things out as there are people willing to call me to get me enrolled. Once something goes wrong, it doesn't matter if the ball dropped on Ashford's side. it's up to the student to figure things out and that should not be the case.
I didn't have any issues there until I had a family emergency and had to stop taking classes. When I completed my courses, I received a phone call six weeks afterward that stated that there was another class I needed to take. When I questioned that process, I was told that it was my responsibility as a student to have read the fine print during the intake process, which was about two years prior to that date. And it was my responsibility to basically know what should have been done where the ball could have been dropped dead. That process was difficult because it took a year to get everything situated after I found out that I needed to take new classes. After that year, I was able to get back enrolled and completed my course.
But now, I received an email saying "Let me help you get back enrolled". I asked Ashford's rep what the email was talking about and the rep said that I have one class I need to take and I have an outstanding balance. One of my student loans was returned to the university and I gotta figure out what's going on. I have the student loan receipt so I'll start with the loan provider, see what they show and then start with Ashford. For my doctorate, I was looking at Ashford because there is a discount. But, I'm interested in a smooth process and enjoying that process, not just being a number and paying out money. So, Ashford is no longer in the running for that. Also, while some of the teachers there are decent, others should not be teaching.
Thanks for reaching out, Shari. We apologize to hear that this has been your experience It sounds as if there is some miscommunication, and we'd like to clarify your concern via email. If you would, please email social@ashford.edu with your student ID and concern, and we'll escalate your matter.

I decided to enroll at Ashford because I wanted to do their health care administration program at first. They had a good price and it was all online. I got my master's through them as well. For my bachelor round, I had spoken with a guy named Bradley and he was absolutely rude. I was in the process of enrolling but I told him I had to put a pause 'cause I had a vacation in Mexico. Most of the time, there was not any Wi-Fi. I explained it to him in an email and he came back and said, "You must not really wanna take this seriously and take the next step in finishing your degree." It was so disrespectful to the point where I had to call Ashford and tell them what he said. I sent them all the emails. I told them I wanted a new enrollment person or I was not gonna enroll with them so they got me a new enrollment advisor and I was able to get in.
Ashford's education is good but I feel like what they lacked was helping us get into the working field once we got our degrees. They put a big spiel when I went to enroll for my master's saying once I get it, I'll be able to get any of the jobs I want related to the field and they'll help me get that. Since I've graduated in June, all I've gotten are emails stating, "Come get the alumni grant and go for your degree again." I'm getting nothing regarding help for finding jobs. Regarding my loans, I found there are 14 open accounts and I feel that that was a little ridiculous. There shouldn't be that many accounts open and collecting interest. I loved my education experience but outside of it was not good. It was mismanaged. It would be better if they could work on being more open and more nice to their students, more responsive and provide more resources to help once we've graduated instead of just trying to get us to come back.

Everything was very well-outlined. Everybody was super friendly. The enrolment was very simple, even setting up my financial aid. The program was very structured which was good but yet there was flexibility since I worked fulltime. There were tutors available 24/7, online libraries, and tutor for writing and research. It is catered very well to anyone that is working or a parent and trying to pass their degree. It was a great experience. Sooner or later, I plan to go back and get my master’s. I was in the army and was about to get out and needed a degree. I figured I'd do the easiest option of a not in-person school. I did Bachelor's in Cultural Anthropology at Ashford and for the most part, the instructors were really good. I had a couple that I had a little bit of trouble with, but nothing crazy. The few problems I had were mostly a lack of instruction and not uniform grading. But with the majority instructors, if I had any questions, they'd make sure to get back with me and answer anything that I needed.

My supervisor was going to Ashford University. A lot of military people go there too. I enrolled and everything about the school is good. The professors are awesome. With my job, my hours are unpredictable at times but my professors worked with me. There was a lot of work to do each week and a lot of writing. That part was kinda tough because it’s supposed to be designed for working adults. There are different things you gotta turn in throughout the week by certain days.
The only thing is I hate that Ashford was bought out by the University of Arizona because now, it's like I graduated from a college that's not gonna exist. That was more of a financial decision than one that was best for the students. They see the University of Arizona as lucrative and there's more money as opposed to better education. Overwise, it was a good experience.

I was military, and Ashford's very military friendly. I was being deployed worldwide and it seemed to always work out that they were willing to let me keep dropping out and coming back. I had a hectic schedule. I would get back from my deployment, call them and ask if I could start the next week, and I wouldn't have to do anything. They would just re-enroll me and I would get my class material and go from there. It took me almost eight years to do my master's, but Ashford was fantastic the whole time about anything I needed. It was good. If you care about your education, you're gonna learn.
Most people nowadays don't learn anything in college. I don't remember feeling I got my education's worth out of my bachelor's, but my experience with Ashford's master's program was fantastic. It helped me so much more with critical thinking and thinking quickly, 'cause I was still working 100-plus hours a week in the Navy and then I had to come home and I had a paper. All of my friends that went to much larger, more prominent universities were writing the same papers with same questions as I did. Maybe it was not getting graded the same at Duke versus Ashford, but it's the same education. As soon as my wife saw what I was in with Ashford, she also enrolled and did the same thing.

I went looking for accredited colleges online and somehow, from my inquiries, I came across Ashford University and another school. The Ashford school admissions counselor called and persuaded me to go with them over the other school. Enrolling was simple. I had to fill out some paperwork and then they did the rest. They applied for tuition help. Also, the professors were good. Some were a little harder than others, but they all show dedication and genuine concern for the students to help make them pass. For me, they were awesome.
The learning experience was valuable. There were definitely a lot of things that I took away from what I learned at Ashford and I have more knowledge and experience in the business field now because of it. I'm grateful that I succeeded. It's not something that can't be done if you put your mind to it and work hard for it. I heard about Ashford from the AU program in the Air Force. They call it the CCAF, Community College of the Air Force degrees and associates. There are certain institutions who say that they would take these and award it to core classes or to electives, and shorten the length of the degree program. I've looked at the list and the universities that are there, which is quite a lot, and the programs each one had. Then, it went off to reviews and stuff that I could find at the time that it was said and I picked through them. Ashford had programs that I had interest in. If I got into the program that I like and I work hard, I can do well, which was why I went the first time, the second time, and now the third time.
The enrollment was smooth and I've never had any issue with it whatsoever from the get-go. Everyone was always very polite, professional and friendly. I always enjoyed the people that I talked with. They always gave me answers I needed or didn't even know that I need. I couldn't ask for a better experience. I recommended Ashford to anybody that has any interest in pursuing further education beyond their CCAF or even those who are starting that process. But I've also known a lot of people in my time in the Air Force, who were students with Ashford and enjoyed it.

I was Googling universities back in 2018 to do my master’s and then, I applied to Trinity. But Ashford came up and it looked like a great school. So, I decided to try it. I liked the days at Ashford. It was discussions on Thursdays and papers on Mondays. It was convenient. All my professors that I had since 2018 were awesome. The professor in my first class in my master’s program kinda set me straight on an awesome path of success or knowledge, and how the whole master's degree works. I almost owe everything to her to where I got to now all because of how she took time to explain things to me. So, the professors are great. The enrollment process for my doctor’s degree was kind of a headache but I got in.

No matter how much I tried to prove it to them that they were wrong, they didn't hear or see through it until they figured it out. But they realized that they had looked at the wrong paper at the same time they were grading mine. So, other than that, the experience was okay and I already graduated from Ashford seven months ago. It was easier attending school online and Ashford was great for both the bachelor's and the master's, so it went well.

One of my friends was going through Ashford University for her education and she really liked it. The classes were at my own pace. That had been beneficial ‘cause my triplets just turned five. They were two to four while was in school. The enrollment was good. I just had to ask my academic advisor and tell her that I wanted to change stuff, double up courses or jump back to one. They pretty much set everything up for me with my degree and all I had to do was focus on was studying and schoolwork.
Most of the professors were pretty good. They give you all the resources you need to learn all the subjects that they're teaching. They give you assignments to do. It was easy to understand what I needed to do. You just do the work, like any other college. Overall, Ashford University was a great way for me to get an education as a father of three children. That’s an option for other people in America who may not have an option to go to a traditional college.

My former employer was partnering with Ashford University for people that were close to completing degrees and wanted to have an opportunity. So once you are there a certain amount of time on the job, then you have an opportunity to take advantage of that. I did that and for the most part, it was good. I learned a lot. We had opportunities to use different types of tools to complete our assignments. Everything wasn't the same type of thing over and over. So we got to experience different things and it made it interesting.
Sometimes the instructors do too many of those discussion polls. Then you have to have all that done on a certain day plus do a paper. You still have to write an assignment on top of doing that, and then you have to respond to two or three different people’s comments that have been posted. So that gets to be a lot, especially it's designed around most people that are still working and adult learning. There should be a way to make it so you can focus a lot more time to work towards on your paper as opposed to trying to get all these posts done and then you have to respond to all these people. Some of the instructors had it formatted that way and you had a little more time to work on your paper than others.
When the instructors review your paper for you, it took longer than 24 hours to get the response back. Then they were not supposed to tell you what to do. But a lot of times, the responses were a lot vague and I had to get feedback on their feedback. A couple of times, I ended up having to try to do a lot of chats to understand what they were trying to tell me. So I was still guessing as to how to approach certain things that I had inquired about. So, whoever is doing that end of it can be a little bit more specific about what it is that they're pointing out to you to work on or give you more specific information about it. I have told a few people about Ashford University because it’s online. Some of the classes you wish can be in-person because of the type of class that it is. But it's online, so it allows a little more flexibility to work around your work schedule. I would recommend for anybody trying to finish up their degree.

I got an MA in Organizational Leadership from Ashford University. It seemed like the workload was easier with them compared to undergraduate but I also didn't have the same level of commitment and self-awareness as before when I was younger and going through undergrad. I was a lot more focused and able to do the work now so I got through it easier. I never felt particularly connected to any professor with online learning. It seemed like most of the information was canned responses based on the program and the class. But grading-wise and their presentations on the work material were pretty standard.
My workplace offers full tuition reimbursement for Ashford. Any employee at Farmers Insurance should absolutely do it. But if they're going for a master’s degree, I might be middle of the road. Ashford is accredited and there’s nothing particularly bad about my experience but there may be more traction with a more established institution.

Ashford University was not the cheapest. However, the quality of the education was close to commiserate with the price and I didn't feel that I overpaid too much. The enrollment process was pretty straightforward. I thought it was gonna be a lot harder than it was. But I did everything that needed to be done and it only took three days to get enrolled and then I started classes 15 days after that. Of course, I had researched everything so I knew all the paperwork that I would have to have. It was a little difficult to get a dual Bachelor's because of the prerequisites. So, instead, I did a dual minor. But there's enough options and availability there. Being a military family needing something that was gonna work with our lifestyle, I like that Ashford has a strictly online program. The professors were very supportive, very connected and very thorough. It was a great atmosphere. I didn't like when all of the materials switched over to all digital. That was hard but I managed. I still could have gotten physical books but they would have been more expensive because I was doing the free books for military and then they switched it from being physical books to digital. I was like, “Oh, well, I still want them free. I don't want to have to pay extra.” But it's a personal preference because I would have preferred to have physical books than digital. Everybody's kind of on their own.
The professors stay in communication with me through email. There were three of them that actually made phone calls, which was really nice. I really enjoyed that. Some of them were overly zealous and on the ball. Most of them would respond within 12 hours, which was good. Overall, it was great. They all had tons of experience. There was so much to learn. The professors were great. My fear was that, being an older student in the 50's, that I would not be able to compete with the modern student. But I found that I ran circles around a lot of the modern students and that became fun. I have nothing but the highest regard for my professors, maybe except for one. But the majority of them were amazed at my ability to write. Some of them highlighted and spotlighted my writing. One instructor said a paper that I had written was the best paper he had read in his entire teaching career. So, I thought he was blowing smoke and I said that he was just saying that. He didn't have to lie to kick it but he said that it was a great paper. It hits every point. I was citing properly in my research, I had very little grammatical errors and my content was very relatable. I spoke from a position of experience. Being 50-something years old, I've seen a few things.

The quality of the professors was hit and miss. For my American Constitution class, the professor did not agree with my political views. So my grade was affected by that. I got into issues with that. She never corrected it. She said she was not going to. I ended up getting a C minus. I also had where professors were not very good about getting back with you when you needed feedback on understanding assignments. But for the most part, I've had pretty good experience.
The only thing that I would change if I was in charge of Ashford University was the 7-day rule thing. Because being in the military and not being able to take a class right away, they automatically disenroll you after seven days. So then you have to read and go through the whole re-enrollment process again. My military tuition assistance paid for it all. But most of the military-friendly colleges, they only charge you $150 per credit. So your tuition goes a little bit further than with Ashford. I chose not to go with them for my master's degree because my tuition assistance wouldn't cover it.

I had some difficulties with my degree plan and making sure that I was on track. There was a couple of different mix-ups in how many classes I was gonna have to take. That was kind of like a battle throughout the entire year. It was a little frustrating. I already had over 90 hours complete, so there was a mix-up of them wanting to meet certain requirements. I've never had a good grasp on my timeline and what I needed to complete to graduate. It flip-flopped several times while I was a student.
There were parts during transferring that were easy, but then there were parts that required really intense follow-up. It made it kind of annoying and cumbersome to make sure that everything got done and I had all my ducks in a row. So there was a lot of focus on the administrative functions to make sure that they got done. I was always an 11-year college student so I've had other bad experiences with universities in regards to that stuff. I work in the financial industry and I know the flow and process.
Lucky for me, I had a good foundation to make sure things get done just from my work experience. But as a student that didn't have that prior exposure, I can imagine they can let things go unnoticed for some time, and then turn around and kinda be screwed on having to take more classes or not having stuff the way it should be. They would be losing resources or time on unchecked errors. I had some frustrations with Ashford but I didn't have high expectations to begin with. So I kinda was able to navigate it.
From an academic standpoint, the classroom was all fine. It was a good experience too. There were some classes where I felt that the coursework was little redundant and could be steered a little bit differently. But those are very niche complaints. All the professors were knowledgeable. I took scientific writing and it wasn't until the third or fourth week that I even knew what the class was really about. It kinda felt like it was aimless at some points. For it to be such a technical class and then having it online, there were certain aspects of the class that it was almost like watching a movie and starting in the middle and then there were three different plots to the movie. The flow was disorganized. It's almost like a class that you really just need to have introduced in person. I made straight A's and it was the only class that I got a B in. But the instructor knew the content and the coursework. They were knowledgeable.
If you can get going and get started in the classroom, and if you can just focus on being a student, I recommend Ashford. I went to three different advisors. I kept getting the switch but they were all super sweet. They all treated me very well. I'm not an online person, so I'm very much in person lecture. I have very short attention span and low discipline. But the online structure caused me to research things and take ownership of my education, which made me a little bit more educational fruit in the process. So, as a student, they did a great job, but there are definitely opportunities for growth and guidance on the administrative side.

Somebody mentioned the degree that I wanted and said that they attended Ashford. I contacted them, then they called me right back. I went to a college previously. We got all my transcripts and everything transferred over. It was an easy process. Navigating through the courses was very easy. My husband currently goes to school but he did not choose Ashford. Just looking at his dashboard compared to what my dashboard is, I don't even know how he navigates. I'm a stay at home mom of two kids. I was enrolled the day I made the decision to go back. The professors were knowledgeable about what they were doing. As far as much interaction as I could have online, everybody answered my emails. Any kind of problem that came up with scheduling and assignments, they were really willing to look at each situation that would arise. I had a great experience all around and I graduated with a bachelor's degree in applied behavioral science. It went beautifully.

I was able to take my last three classes within a month through Sofia. The professors were all really awesome too. I liked the military benefits at Ashford University. Enrolling with them was quick and simple. There were a couple of hiccups here and there though. I had one professor that did not grade half my papers. I had one paper that was a day late which was my final and it was 30% of my grade. She automatically gave me a zero and went on sabbatical. That tanked my GPA pretty badly and it was quite a hassle to bring it back up and change the grades she gave. She didn't even look at the paper I wrote and just gave me enough of a grade to get an A- out of her class. Still, things were alright overall.

The classes at Ashford University were scheduled, so I didn't have to do that. They were really thorough. Every class was structured the same way. You knew you had to post the discussion question by Thursday and answer it by Sunday. Then there was some type of assignment that was due Monday. So it's the same way with my bachelor's and for my master's. But after I completed school and received my diploma, I got a phone call saying that I owe them some money. They couldn't tell me where it came from. They were in a process of them clearing eBooks and they realized an error. But it still has not been cleared up or anything. I just received a letter about it that was telling me about it. So in the end, I'll have to suck up and pay it. But it left a sour taste in my mouth.

But there are definitely some standout professors, in my opinion, that really take the time to engage. There are some that kind of grade and don't give much feedback, and then some that really dig in and provide really constructive criticism, and email on a regular basis. It was the good teachers that stood out, though. Finishing was pretty cool and getting my diploma finally was good. Sometimes it can be difficult to understand some of the prompts so having them available to ask questions to definitely helped to understand what they were asking, write a good paper, and pass the class.
It was a pretty positive experience especially in terms of how everything was online. Everything was pretty straightforward. I didn’t have too many difficulties getting through school. The classes were pretty fast-paced so I had to really stay committed. Everything was kind of cramped. If there is any way that Ashford can maybe have the classes either be a little longer or maybe chop down some of the unnecessary information, that would definitely make it easier for more students. I got through it just fine though. I’m not the brightest guy in the world so I think anyone can do it. But time management is crucial. I used the Prentice Publication for military schools and Ashford University had checkmarks for every category they had. There were three schools like that and I liked Ashford the most. I went with them for my degree in Organizational Management. I had issues one time with an instructor about unfair grading. No one knew what the grading scale of the professor I had issues with was and she was complaining about the way I submitted my papers.
When she uploaded it to her software for grading or her software to see if I had plagiarized, that software would change the format of my document and put an extra two spaces in. She told me to send my file as a PDF when I was five classes away from graduating. I told her that I've never had to do that the entire time I was at Ashford. So she took points off my grade and said that my format was wrong. When I looked at my formatting when I downloaded my file from the website for my submissions, it looked perfect. I emailed her and told her about it and she said that the issue was her software and that I should send my work as a PDF.
I emailed Ashford and talked to my counselor about the problem. He said that I shouldn't have to submit my files as a PDF as I'm in the military. He said that Ashford gets a lot of people who are just sending stuff through government computers. He also told me that he has been with Ashford for a while and that the school takes things very seriously when students have issues. He suggested that I do a grade appeal. I did that and Ashford got back to me telling me that my grade was fair.
I did something else as well and the school reviewed what I said. They spoke to the instructor and everything was cleared up. Afterward, things changed and the professor's grading became better. She started offering more options and telling people that they needed certain things for help. Overall, I had a good experience at Ashford. The counselors there are good and the curriculum is cool. Plus, I like the school's interface. They use Blackboard and Campus which is a really intuitive, app-based thing. The fact that everything was easy and simple to find was my favorite. Their interface also provided free software for writing labs.

He would normally release the assignments one week at a time. Having family and a job, it was nice to be able to get ahead and having the whole course available. But he would only release them at the day that the week started so it made it a lot harder for the people and for me. I'd spend the weekend just getting my homework done for the whole week. I have three degrees with Ashford and I started way back in 2008. At the time, I was a full-time employee. I still am, as a full-time working dad, and I could not manage going to college every day on a campus. My job wouldn't allow that. I wanted to get into leadership, and Ashford had the program I was looking for. It was very affordable for me at the time and I was able to get through it. I rolled right into my MBA because I liked it so much, and the MBA got the endorsement of Mr. Forbes with the Forbes School of Business. I was pretty excited about that. Because I was familiar with their platform, I continued.
I'd been in health care for the past five years and two years ago, I decided to get my MHA. Because Ashford has programs for alumni, they gave me a little bit of a scholarship. I'm very familiar with the organization and because I already had a master's degree, my credits transferred over a little more easily. They made it very easy for me to continue my education and it's worked out very well for me.
When I got my two master's degrees, enrolling was very quick. I probably made it easier for them than most people where I knew exactly what I was wanting and needing. I just had to verify with them that the program covered what I needed it to cover. They verified that and it was a conversation on what I was eligible for as an alumni. Because I work at AdventHealth, there was an additional discount because of the partnership with AdventHealth.
Any time I call in, if my advisor isn't available, I get another advisor and she's pretty much up to speed. They must have a good record-keeping system because anybody I talk to knows all my other conversations and I can talk to just about anybody there. I am looking at going back and getting some training in data science and data analytics but Ashford doesn't have a program for that right now. I wish they did. If there's one thing that they need to improve on is they need to start getting more into big data, data analytics, data science, and the technical side of things, because that's huge in today's world.

I've written books, you can't write a book and not know English very well as you've got to write to write a book and English is majority writing so this is a lie I failed the class.
They wanted someone else to pass that was failing so they made it out that I failed and I did not and besides that they kept telling me to switch my Folio to public and it was public and their IT person investigated it and it was set to Public. I even uploaded my book The Up's and Down's of The Gragg's on my Folio so anyone can read it so for Ashford to say I failed there a lie. I did not and I know for a fact I did not fail so this also upset me. I've uploaded my documents well over 50 times. I quit Ashford University yesterday because of this. I tried over and over to talk to the dean about my issues and he has no email. You can only call him and I'm not going to call him. I want to email him.

The enrollment went very well. All of the instructors were good. The courses and the assignments were explained in detail. I was able to email the teachers if I needed any explanation or help with anything. I'm not an A student, but the way they have everything set up, I was able to make decent grades. Because of the way everything was set up, I was able to comprehend my assignments and the instructions for them. Everything was easy to get in contact with, including the financial aid department. Everything went smoothly.

I was signed up years ago to start with University of Phoenix. Another soldier told me that they were more military friendly. But before I started, I switched over to Ashford for my Master's and I had a lot of issues with Ashford telling me wrong stuff about my GI Bill. I could never get ahold of my TA advisor ever. I left messages. I had to always talk to one that was available. They told me I would be getting the active duty GI Bill but that was not the case. I got a letter from the debt management from the VA stating that Ashford has filed my benefits wrong that was why I have a debt that I was overpaid. Ashford told me that I was entitled to that money. It's been such a mess with the VA and Ashford. I didn't tell other soldiers not to go there anymore, but I would no longer recommend Ashford.
They need more education on how to file VA claims or GI Bill benefits. It was like night and day between my Bachelor's and my Master's. Bachelor's was awesome but for Master's, admin-wise, it was a completely different story. It was a bunch of misinformation. They don't know what they're doing with the GI Bills. I got a phone call with them from some lady threatening to report me to the credit bureau. It's been horrible experience. If they just fix their admin stuff with dealing with military, they would be so good.

The colors of the organization, the purple and the gold, grabbed my attention. The learning experience was pretty impressive. It was pretty good because you dealt with one class at a time. That was very beneficial. Most of the professors were very professional and considerate. So that made the process even good too. If we had a little problem with being late, it was pretty cool. Some of the professors lack the necessary empathy that will make things better for students. But my overall judgment of the professors is that they are very compassionate about their jobs. I’m not gonna let a couple create a judgment of negativity.
Whoever is in charge of the curriculum, they need to remind professors to be more considerate and lenient towards people doing online education. Sometimes, all you’re doing is your responsibility as an adult and sometimes circumstances would be beyond your control, and it kinda puts you in a bad position. So you might really need some consideration from a professor but they would be running about strict protocol to the curriculum. That kind of stuff was annoying. But once again, I didn't have much of that. A few of the professors didn't take advantage of the latitude that they got to work with students as opposed to informing policy and procedure. You can inform policy and procedure, but at the same time, as a professor, you do have some leeway to support.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the community, Clayton. We're honored to have you as part of the Ashford family, and look forward to your bright future! Please keep in touch. For the most part, everything was good with Ashford. It worked out and I have recommended it to several people who are capable or want to work full-time. During the enrollment process, I had people walk me through it. The flexibility of the schedule was great. I worked a full-time job on top of it. I did like the fact that it was one at a time and being able to focus on one thing at a time and retain a subject before moving on to a different one. However, the learning experience was hit-or-miss. There were a couple of things where it seemed so disconnected. It seemed too forced. Some of it lacked the creativity of being able to express yourself. There was a certain point where it wasn't as challenging.
Some instructors were better than others but there were a couple of them that went above and beyond. They wanted to talk with their students. However, you don't really have any way of getting to know your professors. The only way you get to know them is through their grading. There were a couple of times where I was able to email back and forth to professors, but it was really disconnected in that aspect. If you have a question, you have to email them and you hear back three days later but the assignment was due the day before.

For someone like me who is working full-time, it was nice to have online courses and not have to worry about going to class.
On the other hand, I felt that there were opportunities to collaborate with our classmates. We had several group projects that I had to do. I was able to interact with other students and work with them. My course is over now and I'm happy.

But, some way to get more collaboration or discussion among students instead of just doing a discussion and mandating replies. I felt I had somebody there helping me so it was the best experience I've had with college. Their teaching style was very different from previous colleges that I've attended. I like the way that it was broken down. The professors were very smart and professional. They knew about the course and the subject matter. I felt comfortable being taught by them. I've never really had a bad time or experience with Ashford. When I do speak to other individuals about college options, I share my experience with Ashford with them.

A couple of years ago, a co-worker of mine said that she was going through Ashford and it was all online. She was getting her degree in nutrition. She asked me what I wanted and I said that I wanna get a bachelor's in a management or leadership degree. She said that Ashford totally has that down for me and because of that recommendation from somebody I trust, I decided on them. I'm a lot better at learning some things online but there are other things that if I try to learn them in person, it's easier. So, the learning experience depends on what I need at the moment.
The majority of the professors were very easy to work with and communicative. They responded promptly and they weren't difficult. But there were a couple instances where I dealt with people that didn't communicate very well and it affected my grade a little because I was going through some stuff. I tried to let them know ahead of time that I was having an issue.
There were also times when some of the assignments seemed a little vague and when I asked for clarification so that I could write down the homework properly, I wasn't able to get it done on time because I was waiting on the professor or the professor's aide to help me out with it. About 10% of the classes were like that such that I had a professor that maybe was just too busy or maybe there was a lot going on. But when I asked for clarification before an assignment, they didn't have anything for me to really go off of. Then they would get mad or they would grade me like crap when I don't understand the assignment and do the assignment like I misunderstood. Still, I liked the quick overall response between people and I was mostly treated with respect. The customer service was good. The education and the system being used were easy. It was a very flexible experience.

I did a lot of research on grad schools and Ashford was one of them. When I reached out to get some info, I came to find that my company provided a grant for it as well. So it was really convenient to know that I could go to school and it would get paid for by my company as well as through the scholarship through Verizon. I enrolled for my MBA and it was very smooth and very, very easy. I had a great experience with all of the professors except one. They were all very attentive and very understanding, but one of them was not very understanding. He was the reason why I didn't graduate with a 4.0. I was hospitalized and he didn't give me an extension to submit my final, which was two days late. I graduated with a 3.8. I got my master’s degree in marketing like I wanted. It was good. It was a commitment, but ultimately, it was worth it.
Thank you Ashford for offering those wonderful scholarships because school is something very important, but unfortunately, it is a luxury that not a lot of people can afford to go to. So it's amazing that they not only partner with various companies who are interested in their employees reaching their educational goals, but they also helped meet the gap.

With other colleges, everyone is more technical and always has some form of an attitude. But not with Ashford. Everyone was very, very friendly, very excited, and very happy to help me.
I came in towards the tail end of my degree. I feel like I did miss out a little bit on some the other courses. I would love to have had some more classes on herbology. I took one and it was Western herbalism which I adored. It was amazing. But again that could just have been me coming in very late towards the end of my degree. I couldn't miss work. What I like about Ashford is I don't have to go to a class 'cause I don't have the time to do certain things.
However, sometimes I feel like they gotta get too much done in a little bit of one week. I gotta get all these discussions done, which was fine, but then I got to respond to at least three people. Then if they respond to me, I gotta respond back 'cause there are some instructors that want you to respond back to the ones that respond to you. It was quite a bit of work. But if I have a problem, I can always email the instructor if I don't understand something, and they'll help me, which is really nice.

I told them I wanted to go to a particular degree program and there was a person that was in charge of helping me out. It was a very hands-off process for me and they actually had to do a lot of the stuff.
There are some classes that I would have liked to have been eight weeks instead of six. But in turn, there are some classes that I wish would have been this six weeks classes instead of eight. The core classes could have been a little bit longer than the elective. But overall, everything was great. It's one of those things where you get what you put into it and it rewards the people for doing what they want to get out of the class.
The professors were great too. It seems like they're all very well-experienced in the class that they were teaching and they're very accommodating. Being in the military and all of a sudden being deployed to Africa for eight months, the professors were willing to work and everything like that so I like them. I recommend Ashford to anyone that's looking to get their bachelor's degree that’s in the military.

The company where I work for promotes employee development, which was how Ashford University was introduced to us. It was the company that Chase worked with to allow employees to continue their education with minimum financial impact to the employee. Based on that contract with Ashford University, I took a stab and said okay. I wanted to take a peek and see if I can enroll and complete my degree. I did not know anything about Ashford University but I read some of the reviews and how many students they have, what kind of degrees they offer, what you could do with that degree. All of that made me determined plus the financial contract with my workplace. They allowed us to complete the full four-year without any penny out of our pockets. Also, the main thing was convenience working from home. That was my first experience.
I've been taking mostly traditional in-class just like anybody else. However, learning online takes a little bit more of self-esteem and confidence in making sure that you can do it. When I started the first class, I was very worried but the first course that they gave us was more of leading us to learn how to become your self-guide or how to know where to look for the answer. You're looking at the computer, you're in your own room and you're making your own decision. So you have to know to reach out to the professors. And every time I reached out, I would get the response within 24-hours, which was great. So, the professors were there when I needed them and that was a very positive experience.
Out of 40 courses that I've taken, there are a few that had a different approach. We all have different ways on how we perceive and take different things. Some professors were more proactive and responded with a lot of directions to the students in their responses or some would just respond to everybody. Some professors were seldom in responding however, they were more proactive in pushing the students to do the job, to search for and to give them the answer. So, both ways, we gain as a student from the professors.
Either they were more active and responsive to us and we learned from them or if they were more pushing and gave us more activities to do, we also gained. We have a goal to accomplish and it is up to us how we take the advantage of or how we understand the professors. We all have different perspectives and approaches and what matters is how we reach our destination. I met my goals and I reached my destination and that was because of the professors.

We had a big falling out to where I had to come out of the classroom. They refunded me my money, and I had to take the class all over again. So I lost three weeks of my time, which I don't like, but that's over with.
I got into a new class and they rectified the issue. The women professors were emotional and asked for more. The men were easier. The men just graded your paperwork. I've been charged for transportation this whole time. And I don't know why I'm being charged for transportation. I went to school from home. I also question a few charges on the cost of my education. But then my overall experience with my instructors as a whole, aside from a few blemishes, was great.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the community, Alesia. We're proud of your tenacity and that you started your educational journey after 30 years. It's not easy to do! Additionally, we take matters as racism very seriously and would like to review your experience within the classroom, including your professor. If you would, please email social@ashford.edu with more information. Lastly, the "transportation" charge you saw on your award letter is a legal obligation that we must show, so that students are aware of what it would cost, should they be on campus. Your actual course charges show on your Student Ledger Card in the portal, which would not include transportation since our programs are 100% online. If you'd like to dispute any charge, we are always open to review and rectify. Thank you again, and we hope to hear from you.

It was fairly easy to enroll at Ashford University and the advisers were pretty straightforward. After three degrees, I never wanna see a college textbook again. I learned a lot more in a real-world classroom and some of the classes were a bit rushed and vague. The whole self-learning thing was annoying at times but it wasn’t terrible, especially when you have a career and stuff.

I found Ashford University online and the five-week courses appealed to me. When I sent out for information, the recruiter that called me was really informative and made me feel like this was the best fit for me at the time. Getting set up was a very easy and simple process. They also got my transcripts for me. It was a great learning experience. I was working fulltime and my teachers and professors were really understanding and supportive throughout the whole time.
One time, things were really rough and I was sick. The teachers reached out to me to make sure that I had what I needed. It was really helpful. I didn’t come across a class where I felt I was overwhelmed or I didn’t have the support I needed because they reached out to me every step of the way. Furthering my education at Ashford was a lot of work. Although you have the support, you have to put forth the effort as well. You have to be organized and stay on top of what you’re doing.

I was looking online for some degree. I already was looking to an institution but the liaisons didn't help me out as much as Ashford did. They were requesting several papers and documents and I sent them but I never hear back from them. I'm on T-Mobile's program tuition and I looked at the first institution that had the program that I was looking for. It happened to be Ashford. I submitted my information and in less than 10 minutes they gave me a call and the experience was amazing. The enrollment has been easy and amazing, like what took me like almost three weeks to get accepted on the other institution, I did it in less than a week.
One of the things I would have liked is being able to take additional courses at a time, not one-by-one. I would just recommend them to offer two classes for students in case somebody needs it. Other than that, all of the instructors are willing to work with students. I only had one bad experience with one instructor. He accused me of plagiarism and it was not even 28% of similarities and most of them, there was a whole page of reference. I guess he didn't consider that. But it’s just things were gonna happen, so I guess we learn from our experiences.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the community, Abel. We're honored to have you as part of the Ashford family, and know that T-Mobile employees are top-notch! Additionally, your hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed, and we appreciate you reaching out. In regard to concurrent enrollment, we do offer that option to our students. I was an active duty military and I know Ashford University gives grant for military students. I did my bachelor’s and my master’s with them. Everyone was helpful if I needed anything if I reached out to them. It was easy to enroll and to make contact with the school since it was online. The only thing was some of the professors weren’t on the same page as far as guidelines set by Ashford. So in that sense, it was frustrating going from one teacher who went by what the school decided to do and going by another teacher who made up their own world.

I liked Ashford's five-week courses. The enrollment was easy and I kinda felt like I was there even though I was not there. They made it very easy to get enrolled. The communication was very clear and it was easy to get in contact with people and people to get in contact with me. It was a good process. The learning experiences were challenging because of the five-week courses but at the same time, it wasn't hard to get done because you have a weekend to get the work done to turn it back in on that Monday or Sunday.
When I got into my core classes, the professors are really good and relatable. I wanna go back to Ashford for my masters. I loved everything. I would definitely tell others about how the courses work week-to-week. If they are military, I'll tell them about how they can use TA in faster. I would also tell them about how you don't have to purchase books because everything’s given online, and that they work with you well. If you are military or essential worker, they work with you well within late work. Overall, my experience was challenging but it was fun.

I liked that Ashford was accredited, the initial evaluation, and the level of support that the program itself had. Enrolling was fairly simple. I graduated in high school in ’88, so I hadn’t taken a class in 28 years. I had been out of the classroom for that period of time. It was difficult for me to acclimate, but I thought that the way Ashford had the classes set up was to get you acclimated. So, from the first couple of classes, everything was writing so it got you acclimated to writing and to using the libraries. The first few classes got you using all of the things that were available. I was a better student my last year than I was my freshman year.
My learning experience was great. There are limitations because you’re doing everything online. So, it’s a different type of learning experience. It could be challenging. Some people learn better in the classroom. You have to make that adjustment. For example, I had to take two math classes. I struggled with those, and I had to use the online tutors. But Ashford had online tutors. So, it was challenging, but I made it through. Ashford really did have everything in place. So, it made it easier, and you have to put time in. I struggled the times that I didn’t. I’m balancing my full time job, and then I'm a full time husband, full time parent, and then sometimes, I left school for last.
Ashford's professors were really good. Some were more challenging than others. I found that, for the most part, the professors that had PhDs or were doctors were even more demanding. You could get a 4.0 on your discussion. The professors that had PhDs and doctorates might give you a 3.8. They were much more aggressive with their scoring. They expected more. It depended on the class though.
The biggest thing is not knowing what to expect. Coming back to a classroom after almost 30 years, I thought that Ashford really had all the support things in place to get you acclimated to the classroom again, and did have all the different support mechanisms in place to be successful. Now, you have to use the different tutors. I got kids in college and some of those things aren’t available to them at that level, but Ashford has every single thing in place, from the libraries to the online tutors. If you work the program kinda thing, there’s no reason why you would fail.
You have to put your time in there and in your papers because everything is writing. So, each week, I built upon the following week. If I kept my grade high enough, at the end, I knew how hard I had to work to maintain my grade. I finished with a 3.6. Overall, it was a great learning experience for a returning student. Ashford is set up for any type of student, but for a working professional that wants to get a degree at the same time, it was kinda set up perfectly for that.

I was just doing an internet search and found Ashford. The online classes were the primary thing that appealed to me and when I talked to them, they said that the way they do it, they do one class at a time because they do accelerated. So, it’s six weeks versus three months, which was cool. You had to deliberately set up your classes though to have breaks in between because you do six weeks of one class and immediately start the next class. So, that was kinda hard, but it was good.
I was happy with everybody and there was an adviser that they assign to you if you had issues or questions. She was accessible and I didn’t have to wait days for her to call me back. If I didn’t get her immediately, she would call me back within a day. If you have a question or a problem, it’s because you need help then, rather than 48 hours later. So, she was always there. It’s a great online college for people that work full-time and have a busy life. They have it very streamlined and it’s very clear when your assignments are due, so you can plan your time. With people that has a family, you need to be able to do that.

Learning through Ashford was challenging. It got way more challenging towards the end but it was good. I liked the courses. The professors were knowledgeable. All my instructors were pretty much helpful. I did the harder classes that had those video tutorials on how to solve the formulas and stuff that would help out a lot more. The help I got was pretty good. It was pretty consistent.
My experience with Ashford was exciting. I didn’t know which college I’d be going to and what my degree I would be choosing for. So, meeting different people and having a lot of other friends that went to Ashford kinda kept me going through that one. Some classes were a challenge but all of them were very interesting. There was a lot of interaction with the course program and it required focusing and studying, but it wasn’t too bad. It was a great learning experience. It was a great opportunity for me and I'm glad that I chose Ashford. Having a child and being a single mom and a full-time worker, it was one of the best choices I made. I never had a bad experience with any of my professors so everything was awesome. I liked Ashford's scheduling. Their pricing is confusing though. I can't get a breakdown of how they're charging each class per semester. When they show you a breakdown, it's just the class fee and materials fee. When I look at my FAFSA stuff, it's showing housing and transportation fees and all of those other stuff that they're turning into FAFSA but it's not showing up on my side on the details. Last year they charged like $8,000 in housing when I turned in my FAFSA, but that doesn't show up on any of their detailed report. I asked, "So, why am I paying for housing if I'm not staying there, it's an online class?" But I couldn't get a straight answer. I've tried to call several people and they were just like, "Well, just go on the document, and it'll show you."
The learning was great. I struggled a lot on the last class that I did because there were 200 pages per week to read plus all those extra, the discussions and the assignments. But I was able to do it. It just took up every bit of my time. I was freaking out at the end and stressing badly. The course material was great though. It was very detailed.
I kinda had an issue with the accounting classes just because accounting is completely opposite of what you would normally do during a day with your own finances. It doesn't really show both sides of the situation. So, when you have your liabilities and revenue, it only shows one side of the material. It doesn't show that you're supposed to cross-reference that with the other side to balance. It was a little hard to follow. It's all opposite. Everything they do is completely opposite of what we think they would do. I went to one of my accountants and said, "Please explain this to me. I don't get it." After he explained it to me, I was able to get through it and do it.
One other big thing I had an issue with is I had an instructor that would not give me feedback and would not explain why he was giving me the grades he gave me. I eventually dropped the class. That was the only class I dropped to this whole degree because I just couldn't get any answers. I also felt that his grading was generic. I reached out to my advisor and didn't really get any good answers.
Hi Nicholas. Thanks for reaching out. In regard to housing and transportation fees, those are items that we must list but they will not show on your actual student ledger card. You can find a breakdown of your finances by payment period, or academic year, but logging into your portal, clicking on My Finances, and then Student Ledger Card. The Student Account Info option can be confusing, so we recommend you look at the Student Ledger Card. We'd be happy to have an advisor reach out to review your ledger card. If you would, please email social@ashford.edu with your phone number and information. We can also review other matters such as professor feedback, etc. Thanks!

Ashford showed up on my Facebook feed and I just went through it. They called me. I ended up getting my bachelor's and my master's through Ashford from 2016 to 2020. I enjoyed it because you take one class every five or six weeks depending on your program instead of having a whole semester's worth of class at once. The staff at Ashford was awesome. My enrollment advisor for the bachelor's course really helped me and she contacted me along the way after my first online learning class. I had a 3.91 after my bachelor's and 4.0 after my master's. So, they helped me along the way. They were really cool to help out. I went online to see which college I felt comfortable with. Just the details of the Ashford University website make you know when you got a perfect pair of shoes. That was the kind of way it was when I read it. I talked to a representative and they went beyond to help me and to explain things to me, ‘cause it had been years since I've been to school.
The enrollment experience was easy because I had a good adviser who helped me, and she would call to remind me of things that I needed that I still had to have, like my transcript and things like that. My academic adviser was wonderful and that was why I wanted to come back and get my major. I also liked all the instructors. They're very knowledgeable. Ashford got some instructors that are more detailed in discussions and things. They keep the critical thinking not only in discussions, but they'd ask a question also. It's kinda like a conversation. Everybody was very helpful. I love the one I got right now.
The material was challenging, which was good because it kept me hungry for knowledge and interested in digging into things. I learned so much about myself. I took a course and it talked about what kind of learner you were. I had never thought about there are different learners. I came out to be a dynamic learner, so that was pretty good. Overall, it was a very knowledgeable, enjoyable, and challenging experience. I have really grown, not only academically, but as a person, to know who I am and what I can do and what I can accomplish.

While I was still in the military, I was looking at enrolling. Then I went on hiatus, and then I ended up retiring. I got around to enrolling after I retired. I was working a full-time job. Online schooling was easier than having to drive somewhere other than home and sit through night school. It was easier and more comfortable to sit at home and be able to get most of my work done than have to sit in a traditional classroom.
The enrollment with Ashford was simple. Any questions I ever had, I had a whole plethora of people that I could call. I never had any issues other than I wasn’t able to get a book within a day or so of the class starting. But it resolved itself very quickly. As far as the learning experience, the content was good. I don’t really have anything negative to say about the professors. Each one answered all of my questions. They were very professional. I made sure that when the time came to submit surveys, I put my name on a lot of the surveys too so that people could see exactly who’s saying what. That way, those instructors and those professors could see that there’s some value from a 42-year-old guy like myself taking something away from them. There were quite a few that were younger than me that had a wealth of knowledge about things that I had no idea. All in all, it was good.

I heard about Ashford by searching online and my husband helped me find it. That I could transfer over the credits that I currently had and kinda start from with what I had appealed to me. The enrollment process was easy. I like my enrollment advisor. He made it simple for me. Ali, my academic advisor, she was really nice. Those are my two go-to's. But having a two-day gap between courses would be very helpful. Going course-to-course without one day in between was crazy and hard. I don't even get why it was set up like that. You finish your final, which took forever, and then the very next day, you have to post your introduction for the next course.
Also, there should be more advice from financial advisors. I didn't know that my finances were supposed to be explained to me, but that was never done. Whenever I called financial aid advisors, they didn't have any info for me. It would have been way more helpful to know what was going on with my finances. I was really happy with everything until the very end when I found out that my finances weren't being taken care of. It was a whole big mess for four months and it wasn't handled properly.

Ashford is there to help accommodate our lives along with college and move forward. There are times when you cannot control life. But going through my master’s, it was harder to get that understanding or compassion from the professors. There were more professors that were like pushing me back down and saying, “Just deal with it,” versus, “Okay, how can we work through this?” I wouldn’t be locking myself into that type of funding and repayment plan and all that if it was not important to me.
There were times that even with all my knowledge and psychology background, I wanted to reach through my computer and just shake them and go, “I am not your first-year student trying to lie my way through.” But then I also had to step back because there were still people who would find every excuse in the book to not do something, which hurts those of us who really do, at times, just need to step back when we are overwhelmed and needed help.
I only did one professor review that I put my concerns because the professor was very adamant and not pliable and not negotiable at all. It crushed me. I did the course and it was one of my lower grades that sent my whole GPA down for the whole semester because I barely got through. But I’ve had a couple of professors that were amazing, and had they not been, I wouldn’t have finished my degree. I got a decent, wonderful professor the next course because she was the only reason I finished my master’s. With that respect, everything else went great. I liked the program. Thank you Ashford. I couldn’t do it without them.

I work for Cox Automotive, and at the time I heard about Ashford, I was at a leadership conference in 2018 in Las Vegas. A colleague of mine who also graduated from Ashford, mentioned she had some homework to go do. I’m said, “What are you talking about, homework? We’re in Las Vegas.” She was working on her master’s degree and she mentioned Ashford University. She said, “You should look into it because Cox paid for it.” So, when I got back from that trip, I went into our Cox Automotive website, pulled the information for Ashford, and got in touch. I enrolled because I needed two years left to finish my degree. And as long as I chose Ashford and maintained a C average or above, Cox Automotive paid for everything out of pocket first so I didn't have to pay first and then get reimbursed. They paid all of it upfront. So, it was an incredible benefit to take advantage of.
Unfortunately, they’ve suspended the program through the COVID. I was enrolled in the master’s program, so that’s been suspended until next year. But the instructors that I worked with were great. The students were great. The course material was really good. There were times that I was challenged to the point where I just wanted to quit because I felt like I couldn't get through the classes. I would reach out to other students or the instructors for help, and the feedback and the assistance I got were amazing.
My last class was like statistics on steroids and I was like, “Oh my gosh. I have no idea how to do any of this.” I was emailing with a guy named Brian. He was not even my adviser, but I was emailing with him about the master’s program and I started talking to him about this class that I was in. I said, “I think I have to drop. I can’t do this. This class is too hard.” He actually helped me stick with it and stay in that last class to finish and graduate. He didn't even have to help me. He wasn’t my adviser, but he gave me some resources to look for, some YouTube videos to look at, and it was amazing.
The enrollment process was really easy. The most difficult I had was just getting my manager to sign off on the document that they needed. But as far as registering for classes and getting the tuition set up, it was a breeze. I didn't struggle with it at all. There was one instructor early on that wouldn’t respond back to emails, but it was one experience with one instructor and it wasn’t a super difficult class. Every other instructor that I had the two years I was there were amazing. Ricky was my last instructor for my last class. He was a very good and very knowledgeable instructor.
It was a really great program. It was a great experience. I liked that the classes were five weeks and then you could go to the next one, so you didn't feel like, “Oh my God. I’m gonna be in school until I’m dead.” You knew there was an end date. It was only five weeks to get through the class versus a traditional 16-week class where you’re just like, “This is stupid. I’m out.” Knowing that, “Okay, I’ve only got two weeks left in this class. I can do this,” really was motivational because you knew you’re gonna get through it and then that next class is gonna start and it’s gonna go fast. I had talked to a couple other colleagues that enrolled in the program. Unfortunately, their classes were suspended. But a couple of my coworkers had enrolled simply because of me talking to them, telling them to take advantage of this program.
This has us smiling from ear to ear, Nicole. Thank you for sharing your educational journey with the community. We're honored to have you as part of the family and look forward to your bright future. Please keep in touch on all that you achieve!

I graduated with an MBA from Ashford University. My company offered to pay for it, which was why I went there, but I didn’t really care for it. I did not like dealing with the people in the administration. Ashford should change the people who run the stuff.

I was looking for an online college and was scrolling online when I came across Ashford. Enrolling was easy but once I got in, I didn't hear from the people who enrolled me anymore. I didn't like that but everything else had been good to me. It made me feel comfortable because I get the chance to have all the resources that I needed to complete my courses. Also, the people that I worked with like the instructors and my adviser all kept in touch. They made me feel comfortable as well. It was a really good experience because I had people that were there for me and I had the information that I need to continue with my education.

A friend of mine had graduated from Ashford University. I had always wanted to advance my education and Ashford University seemed like the right way to do it because I didn't have to physically be there. For me, it was an easier process because I could do it from home and I liked how the classes were just five weeks. They had to cram a lot into those five weeks, but we didn't have to focus on other classes. We just focused on one class. The enrollment was pretty easy. It was a lot easier than when I went to community college. A person who helped me with everything was assigned to me. The professors were very knowledgeable. I didn't see any problem with it at all in comparison to my experience at community college.

I was checking three options and Ashford provided strictly online and I never had to go to a university to take a test even one time. The other one took six years for a four-year degree, so Ashford won out. It takes up a lot of your time and you just grind in it, and Ashford takes care of you. If you have questions, you got the instructors to take care of you. There was an associate helping me out and she ended up kinda recruiting me after getting me through it.
A great experience is a two-way street, Michael. Your hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed, and we couldn't be more proud. Keep up the incredible work and please stay in touch on all that you achieve!

Ashford piqued my interest because of the programs that offer. The enrolment was a very positive experience. My first interaction was questions of where I wanted to go, what I eventually wanted to achieve. They acknowledged the fact that I was super excited to get it done. They acknowledged the excitement in my voice and how they were gonna help me reach my goal. They were with me every step of the way.
I've got two degrees through Ashford, a bachelor's and a master's. Even though my academic advisor would change from time to time, they would still always reach out and just check on me and see how things are going and emails of what would be next. Communication is big especially when you're doing it online because you're not seeing people face-to-face. The fact that I'm in Texas and they're in California makes a huge difference. So a simple email of updates and assurance goes a long way.
Your hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed, Jennifer. Thank you for sharing your experience and please keep up the incredible work! We love to hear from our accomplished alumni! #AshfordProud

I loved the scheduling at Ashford University. I like that I can set my schedule and do it at my convenience. Sometimes, I thought things were hard because I would have two things due on one day. I've been out of school for a long time, and it was difficult for me to get back in the groove at first. Regardless, the professors there were good. I could get in and ask them questions. They were really helpful and got me through school. Some of them even leave their phone number. I didn't understand something one time and I telephoned one of them. I enjoyed my Ashford experience.
We understand that you're a busy individual, Sharron! We're happy that you could take advantage of the flexible online platform and faculty support. Keep up the incredible work and please stay in touch as you move forward!

In the courses that I took throughout, the professors were engaging. If I had questions, I just send them an email and they respond really quickly. I'm happy that I am finished and it went well. It is beneficial because it relates to my field of work.
We're so proud of your hard work and dedication, Meas. Keep working hard and please stay in touch as you move forward.

I liked that I could do school online and at my own pace. The enrollment at Ashford University was really easy. I was able to access my classes when I needed to, and I never had a problem with communicating with my instructors. I had a real good time. The professors were all really knowledgeable in the area that they were providing. I was able to ask questions and get prompt answers.

Ashford is an online school. Everything was pretty manageable and seemed to be kosher. It allowed me to do everything I needed to do while still maintaining a full-time job. I ended up getting a Master's Degree in Organizational Management with an emphasis on leadership.

I had friends that were taking classes at Ashford. You fall into a pattern knowing what’s coming because it’s usually the same stuff, like discussion questions due on Thursday and then responses due on Monday. So, you can plan your life around that because it seems to be fairly frequent. Communication was good. The professors definitely knew what they were talking about. You could tell that some of the professors were burnt out. On a discussion post, you could just find their name by doing control F and it would be six responses on each one. I guess six is what they’re required to do. So, it seems on some of the classes, the instructors just put in the minimum that they had to do.
But every now and then, you would get a professor you could tell would ask you challenging, critical questions, and really made you think. And sometimes, my responses to those professors would take me longer than the actual discussion post. I need to answer their question because it’s not just a cookie cutter question that they had saved up. They actually read my post and asked me a challenging question. I hated those professors, but I appreciated them.
The cost seemed reasonable. I only have so much tuition assistance that I can use every year and I came to a point where either I would have to pay on my own or take a break. The schedule was so grueling but I'm in a pattern so I paid for the classes and kept moving. Ashford University is not for everybody. Some people like the 8 weeks or 10-week long classes, like to do multiple classes at the same time. It fit my schedule and I was able to get into that rhythm and go so it fit me perfectly. Over the long haul, it takes a toll, but the experience was good.

I got my bachelor's with Ashford and then I got my master's, so I stayed with them all the way through. I like the quality of the courses because l like a lot of the topics. They sound so simple like health economics. But when you go into it it's a whole circus of events but it was really helpful. It was master's level. I just finished last month so I'm really proud of myself.
The professors are really helpful like if I ever had any questions or if I didn't understand something, they were very quick to get back with me. For the most part, I didn't have any issues through my courses. One time when I lost my young cousin, one of the professors worked with me on some assignments as far as getting back in a timely manner. He still accepted my assignment. I would recommend it to anyone that's interested in getting their master's. I definitely appreciated the whole term. And I love the fact that the courses were six weeks. You just really had to stay on top of going to school. Years ago I was bad at procrastination but this helped me like really stay on track.
