One thing I liked the most about Ashford was that when I first started, there was a TA that got me into it who made it so smooth. It was a pleasure to work with her. She helped me out so much more than I thought she probably needed to and she took care of everything I was scared about. She helped me get over it and explained it to me. The other thing I liked was that all my professors, except for two, never penalized me if I was gonna have issues turning stuff in on time as long as I let them know when I will be able to turn it in. I was a cop in the Air Force and I worked all three different shifts while I was at Ashford.

The reps at the University of Arizona Global are well versed on the military side of everything, as far as moving over credits that are earned in the service and all the other ones on the other schools I was in. They were able to put all that together and gave me almost a max amount of credits that I earned with that. They just made it easy to get enrolled.
The online and remote learning experience was a challenge. It's self-taught and it's self-paced but all the information is there. You just have to read it and work through it. I only had an issue with one instructor whose grading was awful. I wrote about her in a complaint and I ended up having to drop the course and start all over with a different instructor. Then, as I transitioned from the bachelor's over to the master's, it was also a seamless and easy process there. They worked it all in and I just moved on through. It was almost the same experience and the same help with that and then everything started off on the master's side.

The enrollment process at the University of Arizona was seamless. I didn't have any problems. The only drawback is the constant turnaround of admission advisors and counseling advisors. It was tough to get to know someone and have them stick with you. The learning experience was great, though. It was very fast-paced. Five weeks. I took one class every five weeks. In my final session, I took two, I doubled up, so I could graduate early. But I was able to keep up. The instructors were always responsive. I enjoyed it. The curriculum was challenging enough to where I felt like I got a lot out of it. But the price was very expensive, considering I could have gone somewhere else and paid significantly less. I didn't like having to take out a significant amount of student loans to go there. So I would not, based on that, recommend it to anyone, based on the price alone.
But it was a great school to attend, to finish my degree. Even if you're going for the first time, it allows you to have a flexible enough schedule where you can work. So I kept a full-time job. But also not feel like you're not getting an actual challenging college education. The classes were challenging and that I could match up to anyone, to any school.

The learning experience at the University of Arizona can be intense because they are accelerated and you have a family, errands, and a job. It can, at times, be stressful. However, I can't say that I never had an experience with instructors that wasn't understanding. But overall, if you communicate, it's really good. If you tell a professor, “I'm sick,” or, ”This is going on with my family,” a lot of them are willing to call you. They are willing to do a Zoom. But I had three that were not so friendly. But you can't have perfection.

I appreciated communicating with the instructors and everything was nice. I learned a lot. I wish the classes weren’t so expensive for the master’s program but it was and I’m stuck with all these debt. Still, University of Arizona was a good choice. Hopefully, the prices drop.

I did online classes and got a couple degrees from University of Arizona. My experience with them was great. It was easy to enroll and since learning was online, there was a lot of interacting and commenting on posts. There was a lot of writing and doing big papers, too. Working with them helped with jobs and adds on your resume. In fact, I'm in an administrative position right now and the degrees that I have helped in the job.

Enrolling with Ashford was quick and easy. They made sure I knew everything I needed. The learning experience left little to be desired. But with the five-week courses, even one synchronous session where students can actually interface with their professors would really enhance the program. One of the key things was that, when we did our discussion, we had to respond to student peers. I saw how it was an attempt to simulate a class But no one ever really said anything of substance, so it didn’t. People make very positive, complimentary comments. That doesn't really facilitate academic discussion. Other than that, I would recommend this school to someone who is very self-motivated. For someone who needs more handholding, that wouldn't be the same for them.

The teachers were really personable. I enjoyed seeing the bio part of it where you could see that they're real people, too. They're not just geniuses sitting in the lab somewhere trying to teach you on the other end of the line. I went with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Leadership with a minor in Entrepreneurship and I'm still in contact with some of my teachers from my second and third year in the program. It took about 10 years as life got in the way but Ashford accepted me and got back on track. My wife had to go on a trip to California and I needed to go with her. So, I was doing one of my creativity course projects in the common area of a hotel where I have to make a paper airplane with quarters in it. That flexibility was just priceless. I couldn't put a price tag on that.
But there was a lot of repetition through some of the Gen Ed courses and some of the major stuff. They could take a look at removing some redundancy and offering other programs to highlight the parts that don't overlap so much. Other than that, I had a really good time. Get a hold of Ashford.

The enrollment process with University of Arizona was easy but I had a constant stream of different advisors. They changed so often and there were always issues with those advisors. Doing the classes was easy, just how it's presented. You need to be on top of yourself and not procrastinate. The lessons were good and the instructors were nice for the most part. I had one lousy professor and I ended up dropping her class. I did not have support from her and she was attacking me. I also didn't have support from my advisor at the time because I had a brand new advisor yet again. Other than that, all my other teachers were amazing. But I got screwed as far as tuition and student loan are concerned. So, people should watch out for for-profit universities.

Between my company and the university, I did the enrollment quickly online and it was easy. Working full-time and going to school full-time as well is a challenge but University of Arizona has got a lot of resources to help you make sure you do well in school. Every time I've ever emailed the professors, they’ve always gone back to me quickly. They are excellent. The classes are very easy to navigate through. If you have any common sense at all, you can easily figure out how to do it. Right now, I only have three classes left for my Master’s.

It was convenient for me because it works on my time. A lot of the colleges wanted me to be in person for X amount of days and I didn't have time for that. But in the beginning, when I was getting my first master's, it was a little rough because one of the professors went off the radar. I went online and blasted them out and I called. I did everything to find out what's going on with this professor but it took about two weeks for them to respond. That kind of turned me off. Other than that, when I received my first master's, I was offered a higher position. Then, when I received my second one, I received more money. Also, I was inducted twice. I was inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society and the National Organization for Human Service Honor Society.

I went back to school for my bachelor’s degree at 57, and I graduated when I was 64. I have two bachelor’s degrees and two master’s from Ashford. There was no question when I went into my graduate degrees that I would go anywhere but Ashford. I liked the people that I had talked to at the campus in San Diego. I liked how they were able to answer questions and if they didn't know the answers, they would find out. Enrolling was very simple. I was able to give them information about my prior college hours. They were able to get my transcripts easily and use the hours that I had already used. In the class that I took, they gave me the information I needed to be able to do research, how to form sentences, and how to write in academic style. Ashford is a great college. I've already told a few of my family members who were considering going back to school.

I found it appealing that Ashford was all about changing the way you learn online which was a struggle for me. There's an enrollment specialist who talks you through what to expect. Then, you go to your advisor, and that advisor helps you with the classes that you should take and discuss the future for what things will look like later. The advisor changed every now and then depending on what grade level I got up to but it was still great because the advisors were with me right along the way.
When you start with Ashford, there's a class that they want you to take before you take any other class. It definitely helps you to understand the online learning world, as well as how to manage your learning. They help you decipher from learning the traditional way. You learn about yourself. It's not an actual class where you're learning other things. You're learning how to learn. You take a survey of the type of learner you are. I'm a bridge learner and when I found that out in my first class, it helped me study. I realized that bridge learner needs all the resources to understand what they're learning. Understanding who you are as a learner helps with all the other classes. Throughout all my other classes, after that class, I got a 3.7 GPA.

I liked the classes that University of Arizona offered as well as the degree program. I also liked the flexibility of studying there. Enrolling with them was pretty smooth and the folks that I talked to guided me through the process for the loan. Then, they guided me in getting classes scheduled and they were on top of it. There were some professors with whom I felt like I was actually learning a lot more than I thought I would, then there were some that seemed kind of distant. But I enjoyed learning there, and their website and apps were easy to navigate.

I enjoyed my learning experience. The one thing I liked was if there was a paper to be done, it wasn't done at one time. I work my way up to the final. With a busy schedule, that was enjoyable. If there was anything that came up, the professors were quick to respond to emails. Plus being in the military on deployment, if I couldn't take a class, it was easy to just send a note and say, “I need to take a month off. I got a deployment coming up". It was very easy to work around my schedule. Contacting them was fairly easy. I send emails and get responses within the day.

I did Ashford and it's very flexible. It went along with my schedule because I"m in the military. My professors were very responsive and helpful. when I called in for financial aid assistance or speak to my advisor, they were also very helpful as well. But there were a lot of times where the system would go really slow, or they wouldn't pull up what I was looking for. One day, my class would be there and the next it wouldn't be there. I just tried to remedy those myself without calling technical support and normally, it would just work itself out. Ashford is a consistent ongoing curriculum. It's not where you have the summer off. It's something where you just go consistently to shorten the classes. It’s something that you have to adjust to.

I was skeptical when it came down to whether or not they wanted to keep their accreditation because that kept coming up. At the time, it was a matter of I've already had so many credits with the University that if I even switched, I would have to start over. So, I just sucked it out. When I did start doing the things I should have done in the beginning, it was a little bit nerve-racking. But they kept the accreditation, so that ended up being good.
The professors at the University of Arizona were good. The instructors work with you. They are willing to help and in that way that that was a good thing. Also, the assignments are set up to where you can keep up with everything, with doing the discussion post and then the assignment is due at the end of the week, and then you have the main paper due at the end. That usually worked out. It was nice to know everything ahead of time. There were a few classes that didn't follow the same routine, which threw me off. But I was able to work through it.

Having the ability to work online on my own time was extremely helpful because I worked full time as well while I was getting my master's. Also, with the employer that I had at the time, the university works with a grant. I was able to get my entire master's degree covered by my work and that grant. The professors I worked with varied. There were a couple who were more active in the board and would reply to everybody. There were a couple of others who would mainly put up videos and just interact if you have questions. But I didn't have any problems with any of them. For the most part, they were pretty accommodating. I had a period of time where I was struggling really hard and when it gets really bad, it's hard for me. I had teachers who were pretty understanding about that, accepted some more later, and didn't take too much off or sometimes didn't take points off at all. It was nice to be able to have that as an option.

The learning experience was a lot of self-teaching type thing. The disappointing part was if I had questions, I would email the instructor and it would take a while to get back. It's a fast-paced learning process and I was pretty much on to the next subject when I got my first answer. I would have benefited a lot more from a chatting experience to discuss things. Also, there were some issues with the programs and the statistics professor wasn't very forthcoming with assistance. Other than that, everybody else was very helpful and very forthcoming with information. I did perfectly fine and the learning experience was intense and good.

I did the enrollment online and being active duty military, I went through tuition assistance. I was able to go through all that and had no problems. The learning experience was very hands-on and informative. It was fun to learn and all of the professors were pretty professional. If there were any problems, they were always willing to help and were always there. If you're thinking about doing some distance learning online and you can't go into a brick-and-mortar school, then I would highly recommend the University of Arizona Global Campus.

Ashford was a great school in comparison to other schools I've been to. I graduated a couple of years ago, and there's a lot of information that I retained and was able to use for my professional career. Overall, it was a good experience. I liked the professors. The only one that I had a hard time was for politics. I was trying to be as myself as possible, but I had to lean over to a different side to ensure that I would not get a bad grade on a paper. That sucks but I got an A on paper, which is great. I'm fine with trying to work around other people's opinions and it worked out for me.
One of the most difficult parts of my experience was the constant change of advisors. Even though it would say so in my portal, it changed too often. I had seven in my two and a half years and I couldn't keep up with whom I was supposed to speak with. Other than that part, definitely take Ashford. It was a lot easier than my time with University of Phoenix. My husband concurrently went to school with me. It was enough work and understanding and we were paying for something that was going to be accredited and acceptable if we needed to move on to other universities later on.

Some professors were hard, while other ones were easy. If someone had some kind of life changing event, then they can make up their exam. I was able to refer one of my close friends who wanted to go back and get her bachelor's. Her job is paying for her to do the program and she asked me about it, and I told her. She was with me the whole way and she knew what I was going through every part to get my degree and master's. She's graduating sometime next year.
I was in Nashville where I first started with the program then I moved back to Atlanta and finished the program out there. At this point, it was COVID and I got my cap and gown, but never got to walk because of COVID. It was a virtual graduation. After that, Ashford had a virtual career fair. I went to that and the company that I'm with now, afterwards, I'm still with and I'm about to transition into a permanent role on IT work with JPMorgan Chase & Co.

I called Ashford and spoke to an enrollment advisor. My initial contact with her was very positive. She was very courteous and knowledgeable. She guided me through the whole process all the way up until I was registered for the first class. So that made me really feel comfortable. Everything was really straightforward. It was a very rewarding experience completing my bachelor's degree there. You will learn a lot and you will benefit from doing the online courses because it's very informative, especially if it's in the alley of the field where you want to go into. I did Health and Human Resources and I learned a lot. I am able to take what I have learned throughout my time with Ashford doing my degree into the work field. After I graduated in August, I was employed in November. So I didn't have such a big gap before I found a job.
Once you know the degree that you want to establish, go for it and stay focused. Because the support is there at Ashford. I was able to always reach out to someone and they get back to me always. It was easy for me to reach out to my professors if I had an issue. They were always very responsive. I would recommend Ashford University.

I put in my information to get a call and then someone called me and I was enrolled. It happened so fast that I couldn't even blink enough. Most of the application process happened over the phone. Things had to be emailed to me and then I had to fill them out, sign them, and email them back. They have five-week courses, and you have to take each class within five weeks. So it was a lot of information crammed. I felt like I might have missed a lot or didn't have time to really dig into a lot of stuff. I was worried about passing. It was very fast. I did walk away with a lot of knowledge but I could have walked away with more if I would have had more time to absorb it.
The quality of the professors was really great. The only thing that I ever ran into that was kind of stressful was not having an immediate answer because it is online and you have to wait for them to get back to you. So I made sure that I was looking into my assignments ahead of time. That way, if I had any questions, I had time to get the answers I needed before submitting those assignments. But anybody else from Ashford, like advisors and financial aid, they were very quick to respond and I could always get someone on the phone. Overall, the experience was fulfilling. I got what I needed. I've recommended Ashford to a lot of people especially the people I work with and people I know that have really busy schedules.

Ashford was a big proponent for military with their education plans because they offered online-based learning. It's easy to maintain the curriculum. So, through the military community, it was a great setup and a great approach. Enrollment was fairly easy. Their student drop policy was extremely frustrating. If you aren't active, even if classes weren't scheduled for more than three weeks, you will be automatically dropped and you have to reestablish enrollment. I thought that was crazy, and I went through that issue twice.
As far as the learning experience, it's geared towards those that can be self-taught. One aspect of the curriculum and the program is you have to be driven and able to self-teach. There was a lot of support and there was a lot of resources to ensure work submitted was graded and worked through in terms of feedback, so you could go back and make edits and changes based on some of the resources and tools that they had. But it was all self-driven pending any engagement you drive with instructors. For the most part, all the instructors were very easy to work with. The staff was great. If I was going to go to school again and have to re-do an undergrad or even the graduate level studies that I completed, I would absolutely select the same type of program and same type of curriculum.

I like Ashford's full tuition assistance. I had a lot of other financial engagements, and I thought this was a better option. That way, I would be able to accomplish my goal, which is to finish my master’s and at the same time to not be able to have to pay anything, since my company, Verizon, provided a partial tuition assistance. Ashford would be able to provide the other portion that I would need. So, that way, I don't have to pay anything. Then I decided to pursue another master’s after that because I thought it was worthwhile in order to achieve my other goal, which is to be a director. I'm pursuing the organizational leadership education now in order to achieve that goal.
The university's process was pretty simple. If I can’t reach my adviser, there are other advisers that can assist me if I have any questions. The professors are pretty reasonable answering. One of the things that I did miss was some of my classes at the beginning offered a bit more easier access to the professor because they will provide their phones and you could call and they will answer you back that same day. Now, everything is just email, and, "I will answer you in 24 hours." That is good, but sometimes you have those questions for your homework that is due and you can’t call the professor, and he may or may not check his emails as regularly as you would like.
Other than that, the staff has been very cordial and willing to help. Enrollment was easy, too. They are always willing to go above and beyond. A lot of times, when students are thinking, “This is what I want to actually pursue because I like this career, or the classes will help me achieve my goals,” I would advise them to speak with an adviser or someone that's more knowledgeable than they are, if they're not, to ensure that this is the best path. One of the things that I discovered while enrolled is that when I was pursuing my master's, I realized that there are other certifications that I can pursue that will enhance my current MBA specialization as a project manager. I did not know that and I did not ask about that. That would have been good to know. That would have been more helpful.
The master’s as a project manager is good, but in reality, I still need that certification and that would have been good to know ahead of time. I would have still taken my MBA specializing as a project manager. Where I work right now, they value more that certification rather than the specialization. So, I would advise whoever is planning to do that to ask those questions. The MBA may not be the best path or the fastest path to achieve what that person wants, but there are other courses that you can take and allow you to get that certification faster. Then you're able to continue your career path, satisfy university and the student also. I have two professors that are on my recommendation.

University of Arizona Global Campus was Ashford at the time. I chose them because they offered me more give-back for my schooling that I already did through the military. There was no issue with if I needed to get time off or I needed to change the schedule. It was going almost immediately. There was no hemming and hawing about, "Oh, well, we can't do this because this is..." It was, "Okay, absolutely. If this is what you need done, we could do it for you."
The professors are great. It varies from class to class. There are some who seem like they're just moving through the motions. But overall, that's a handful of instructors I've had through way over 30 classes with Ashford. They do a great job working with the students. If you communicate with them, you have something going on or if there's a needed extension on an assignment, I've never had a problem working with the professors.
The only thing I had a slight issue with is, back in my bachelor's degree, I ran into two professors that were upset with my topic of choice. So, they marked down my papers based off of what I chose to write about. And when I emailed them directly about it saying, "Hey, what am I doing wrong that I'm getting marked down for my assignments?", they responded, "Oh, it's because of your viewpoints on this topic. It doesn't align with my viewpoint." Isn't that the whole point of college - to have that kind of difference in viewpoints? But that was one or two. It wasn't anything super outstanding with the organization.
Being it's an online college, I get what I put into it. I couldn't be lazy because I don't have that face-to-face interaction with the instructors. So, getting some other colleges would be one thing that might be good to look into in the future. They have that video conference, face-to-face learning experience, just to go over some of the more complex theories or the more complex subjects that we come across to make sure that there's a more deep understanding of the concepts that are trying to be taught. I actively recommend University of Arizona Global Campus when someone asks me about it. I've had a couple of friends go and sign up for the college because they knew that is where I went.

Others were pretty good instructors.

I'm in the military, and a lot of military personnel went to the University of Arizona Global Campus. I heard it was a good and highly accredited school, so that was why I went. Getting enrolled was very easy. I called them and they walked me through the process. If I needed help, they were there to help me. If I had a question or assistance with anything, I could call them and they will always be there. If they weren't there and I leave a message, they will return my phone call within like an hour or so.
As for the teachers, if I have a question about a class or a subject and I’ll send them an email, they will respond within an hour and they'll give me the right guidance. So, it was fairly good for me. Their library was also helpful. There are teachers reaching out just in case you need somebody to look over your paper to help you and give you pointers. They have great staff, great teachers and a great blackboard.

University of Arizona Global has a lot of resources that are helpful as far as being able to double-check my work before I submit it to make sure that I'm getting good grades. I held myself very high on my grades. I graduated with a 3.97. So, I had one professor where I reached out like, "Hey, I feel like my scoring was a little off." And he straight up said, "Well, if you have a 4.0, it's not really gonna seem very likely that the school is good." That was weird. But most of the professors were good. There were two that I didn't care for, but I got through the class and moved on. Also, the reps were always helpful. Once there was a mishap with financial aid, but it got worked out eventually.

I learned a lot as well. The curriculum was good with a lot of different ranges of information from all different facets. The staff was helpful whenever I had questions and they were very timely with their responses. Sometimes there were some inconsistencies with the professors and how they manage the class and what their expectations were, from class to class, but that's expected. Not all professors are going to be the same. Overall, I enjoyed my time there.

I actually went there at University of Arizona Global Campus when it was Ashford University and somebody else in my military unit went there. It was fantastic. I loved how it's very structured. I knew what to expect with every class and I love the freedom of being able to do it from anywhere like any online school. But there was only two classes that had anything different than the others and that's fine. But the structure was very easy to follow and it made the learning process a lot better because I didn't have any struggles with finding the assignments or figuring out what they were. Also, a lot of the professors were great.

Enrollment for Ashford was smooth and the process of the classes was the biggest deal for my deciding factor. So, when I talked to the counselor, they were explaining that it was one class at a time. I've already been working in the field that I went to get a degree in for 10-plus years. So, most of the stuff was self-explanatory for me. The few times that I had to speak to an instructor were for two classes that I had issues coming up with work. They saw that there was copied text out of a book that I was told I needed to do the work out of and I referenced it. It still got sent in plagiarism so, I was trying to explain that. My explanation wasn't something that was trying to be heard so it was just what they found out and that was it. I’m still a bit sour about that.
Early on when I first started, I had one instructor let me know that he had a friend or a colleague that works here in the local area where I'm at, in Anchorage. He told me that if I ever decided to get into the job field where his friend worked, he would give a good reference for me if I needed one. I was excited to hear it. I was very satisfied with everything up until this pandemic screwed up the graduation. I was looking forward to walking on the stage. I graduated in August. So, it was the second one that was online and I was hoping that it would have been over and done by that time.

My sister went to Ashford University and she graduated. So, I decided to get my master’s from there. I liked the quarter system that they had and it was more convenient for my work schedule. I was able to work full time and still go to college. The enrollment process was very easy and I had a good advisor, or as far as classes, and even the financial support that Ashford has, making sure that your courses are paid for on time. They send the notification and make sure that your credits transfer over. Even though it was online, it was still an engaged platform as far as how the classroom is structured with the discussion questions. Being able to communicate on a daily basis with all the other students through the discussion board was very helpful. It still felt like I knew the students that were in the class with me.
The professors were rigorous but they were also there to support. Anytime I had an issue or concern about a topic in class, they would respond back to an email and even offered office times where we could either do video conference or phone call. So, the professors were there to also teach a good curriculum. I was very satisfied with Ashford University and the curriculum and the teachers. It’s convenient for people who have children who work full time jobs but still want to advance in their education. It’s an easy transition from getting your records from your bachelor degree or associate's program. I would highly recommend Ashford University.

The classes were convenient and that appealed to me. They were separated into sections and the work was challenging but it wasn't overwhelming where it was packed one thing behind the other. I talked to the staff before I even enrolled, and the enrollment helpers were very professional and helpful. They directed me to look over some catalogs and I found it intriguing, so I stuck with Ashford, which became University of Arizona Global. The learning experience was rewarding. At times that I thought I was gonna mess up an assignment, the teachers were very helpful. The feedback that I've gotten on all the assignments were all very in-depth. So, I wasn't alone in the entire thing. I would highly recommend about 90% of the professors to other people. Whenever I had what I call stupid questions, they answered in a timely response and they never responded to me as if it was a stupid question.
It's not just the professors that know how to do their job beautifully, it's the entire staff. There were times where because of the hour change, I couldn't get in contact with a academic advisor, so I would speak to other ones. They were patient and answered every single question. The staff never made me feel like I was barging in on their time and it was perfect. There have been more than a few times that I've spoken to a manager and said that the person that attended me did a beautiful job. Rating a person to a computer, in comparison to the stellar job that they did, would be an insult. So, somebody had to know the level of professionalism that the entire staff put in. I started with Ashford then I took a break. When I came back, I had to go through the enrollment process and the enrollment person did a stellar performance. So it's not just one person, it's everybody.

Enrolling was also really easy. Their military veteran section was very helpful. They did most of the work. It was just a simple phone call and they sat down with me and talked about how my schedule would go, what classes to take when, and what would fit best. All those classes fell into line. I never had to call and check on future enrolment.
The biggest thing for me was Ashford working with my schedule and the classes only being five and six weeks long. It worked better when I was in the military, that I knew five weeks in advance what I was doing. It was more convenient that way. Some of the other universities I saw were 8 and 10. Ashford also worked with me as far as readjusting my schedule.
Some teachers were better than others. But they all worked really well with the military schedule and being able to turn in an assignment a little bit late or opening it up so assignments could be done early depending on the weekly or monthly schedule that I hand. Also, some of the teachers provided better feedback than others. There were a few classes I took where I didn't really get any feedback from the instructor on whether or not I was on the right path or I was getting off-topic. I had a few that were really good with giving good positive feedback on the discussion posts in the assignments and letting me know if I missed a point a little bit or if I was on track with what I was learning.

I don't want to take double courses. I've already completed them, transferring over. I also had not the best advisor (the person who scheduled my courses). She wasn’t on top of scheduling my courses and it also resulted in one of the classes I was put in to be two to three days late because she didn't schedule it after I reminded her. Going forward, I told her that I wanted to start tripling courses, and she didn't schedule that. That upset me and I ended up telling my military rep that I no longer wanted her as an advisor. I went through Ashford University for my undergrad, and then I continued on with them through the graduate program. Outside of changing the name, a lot of things in the school didn't change. It didn't skip a beat. Which for me, being a student, was important. I enjoyed my courses. I also enjoyed most of the instructors and the interactions with them. Everybody's got their different spin, which is interesting and of itself, keeps it interesting. So it's not the same old song and dance. It was a great experience. If I had to do it all over again, I would have chosen the same school and gone through the same process.

Working with UAGC was nice and easy as far as navigating the platform. It was really user-friendly and available with my busy schedule. So I enjoyed it. My enrollment adviser was extremely helpful. He helped me navigate the whole online platform, because when I’d originally gone to school, it was ancient. He explained everything to where it was easy for me to understand. But the availability of the instructors for questions was difficult. We would email them through our Ashford email and there would be times where they wouldn’t check it as often or they wouldn’t have access to their inbox. So it limited things, especially if there was something that needed a little bit more explanation to get the guidance laid down. We couldn't connect with the instructors in a timely manner.

Enrollment was done online and it was super easy. The course material was great as well. The specific classes themselves were really well done. Overall, I had a great experience with them. It was very fast-paced in that it was one class to the next. There was one break that you got during the holiday time, which was so welcomed. I'm glad I got it done quickly but they could put a slight break in between classes. I was laid off a few weeks ago but I'm getting more calls for interviews or interest because I have the master's degree.

I'm almost 40, so from an age perspective, I did find a lot of the assignments at time to be elementary. But at the same time, I also have kids in high school and understand why college programs now have to add how to study as a part of the curriculum. When you're teaching multi-generational people in the class, I can see how that would be difficult. After doing two and a half years to get my degree and only having Christmas break, it was a tough cookie to swallow. So they should figure out a way to give the student a week break somewhere in the spring or summertime. Maybe there are so many people not continuing because it's long and grueling when you only get two weeks every year.

Be very organized and have realistic expectations of the amount of free time that you'll be giving to the program. When I had a death in the family in one of my classes, the professor was flexible until everything got situated. I had an overall good experience. Studying with the University of Arizona was convenient. I worked with a schedule at my pace. I already recommended it to several of my subordinates and peers. Our job is fairly demanding on our schedule so this university is good for us. I also highly recommend it for those that can't actually take in-person classes.

Arizona Global Campus accepted more students than the other schools. It was the best option for me. My enrollment was smooth and easy. The only thing was I had a bad experience with my class NCC 497. It was really the worst class I ever took in my life. This class should be reviewed by either principal or other professors to evaluate this class on the instruction. I had a lot of issues with the instruction and I lost a lot of points. One time, I had two homework. I submitted the wrong template and got zero. I didn't get another chance to reupload them. That was unfair to me or any other students because we all fall into this kind of mistake. The instructor didn’t want to do anything about it.

For someone who left college over 30 years ago, it was challenging for me. But for every minute that I had these challenges, these advisers were right out there to give me support. I was trying to do the SMART Track before I get dropped out from the system because then I could carry on, start the master’s, and carry those credits to the master's program. I started with two classes with Ashford and really enjoyed the platform. It was easy to learn and navigate the website. Once I knocked out two classes, it just led to one after the other. Most teachers there know how to read the room. They know what their classes consist of, people from all over the country, sometimes all over the world. Once or twice when I had issues, I would shoot them a quick email and they would say, “Understand, got it. Do what you got to do.” They were very understanding that some people are from different time zones. Being in the military, one thing that we use to separate each other when it comes to promotions or anything like that is schooling. Once you get to a certain level, some levels of education are required for promotion. I recommend Ashford to just about everybody that asks.

Even though you have professors, you're going to be doing the work. I did my BA in person and this is not like you're going to have to do the work. So, you're teaching yourself. They post things but it's not like somebody's feeding you information in terms of talking to you. So, there’s a lot of reading, being able to find your resources and also on your own to do your work. It’s important knowing the tools are not the same. You're going to need to focus on your own and there's nobody there motivating you. It was a good experience for me. I recommended it to my co-worker and she started last month. It's easy for what it is that we do most of the time. We're full-time workers with kids.
I'm happy with everything. Even my diploma came in fast. I couldn't have picked a better school for what I was looking for and I'm not talking about in terms of a school's name. For that, you're gonna have to pay much more money. But for what I was looking for, the flexibility was good. Everybody that I interacted with was kind. If I left a voicemail, they called and emailed back. Ashford has changed its name to University of Arizona but even when it changed from emails, I was still getting that constant communication. Up until recently, I was still getting emails about commencement.

All my instructors are very helpful but I like how my last instructor gives the feedbacks on assignments. They are very helpful because even if you don't cover everything, he gives you more insights and what needs to be covered in the future. You would learn even though you did not perfectly get the high score but with the feedbacks, he gives you room for improvement. In Ashford, with the whole five weeks, you already know what you will be covering, which is what I like with the university because it gives you the chance to plan. In other universities, they don't have that one and they don't even open the discussion until that midnight prior to that week.
The other thing I like with Ashford are the great resources, especially for students whose English is their second or third language. The review and the tutor stand out for me. Other universities don't have that kind of in depth how students can refer to those topics that you can learn how to do APA and it broadens up how my research is.

I had an opportunity to go back to University of Phoenix where I got my associate's degree but I elected to move over to Ashford based on the different degree programs that I could venture into. Not to mention the counselors that I interacted with were always very upfront and honest with me. If there was a degree program that was offered, they were quick to let me know - some similar categories that they offer, and if not, connecting me with places that I could go for that degree program. To me, it was much more than a business. They cared about our future and one that helped me achieve my personal goals. Also, the format at Ashford was similar to what I had experienced at the University of Phoenix except the veteran benefits were better with Ashford.
I had a phenomenal experience. The instructors were all extremely helpful. Anytime I reached out for help, they were pretty quick to respond and answer whatever questions I had pertaining to the assignment or the classwork. And above all, the level of engagement was really good. There was a time period in which I took a break from school. They knew what my aspirations and my dreams were and they followed me every two months to make sure I got back into school and helped me quickly transition back into school life. I couldn't have appreciated that more. Also, there's a number of a couple of different honor societies within the campus that helped me after I got my degree. I was a guy who came out of school in the military and got a late start to life and a family. The traditional campus was never gonna fit me and when I selected Ashford, it was by far one of the best decisions I made.

When I first decided to enroll with University of Arizona, I wasn't looking for a college. I was looking to take some online courses in real estate, so I did a search online and found them. Then, they called immediately, told me about their programs and what they had, then I made a pretty harsh decision to try them and eventually, I changed my major. Enrolling in their program was a very easy process but I always felt like the fees in the tuition were underestimated. I almost felt deceived with what it was going to cost. I graduated last June with $61,000 in debt now. When you’re halfway through, you look at it and you realize that you really don't have a lot of choice but to keep going. Otherwise, it’s useless. They should be upfront with the cost which is not just the cost of the entire process, but the out-of-pocket cost, too. It cost me a lot more out of pocket than I was told initially.
But as far as my advisors went, I never really had a connection with any of them because they kept changing so frequently, which was disappointing. All the instructors were fantastic though and I never had an issue with any of them. There were things I didn't like, but that'd be with a policy or I'd ask for an extension and they'd tell me that I couldn't have it, which is something to be expected. Other than that, I really enjoyed my time there and the ease of the classes were awesome. It’s not the content, but just getting into the portal, navigating, and learning how to submit assignments, were great, even after they changed that.

I was looking for a school that was online and convenient and Ashford met my finances and goal. The enrollment was very easy, but a bit repetitive. But I liked being able to overlap several classes because a lot of institutions don't allow you to do that. They only allow you to do one or two. So by Ashford, doing that makes a big difference. And then, having access to different grants that helps save not just low, high, or middle income, but every student. That's awesome that Arizona Global does. Also, I like the library and the way that the majority of the teachers were very helpful. And the group discussions helped to reinforce the topics of the class.

And then, I had a lot of good professors that helped me out anytime that I had questions. There may have just been a disconnect between communication, just with it being all online. The time that I was doing, it made it a little difficult to get answers sometimes in an appropriate amount of time. But other than that, it was fairly easy to contact them, and everything was straightforward.

There was one course I knew I could not do and they were able to remove that for me and find me a course that was equal to it. One thing was that I was not told ahead of time about the graduation fee at the end, which wasn't a huge deal but that should be addressed so the students are not surprised with it. For example, I wish that the advisor had spoken to me a little bit more about what was involved with my degree because then I maybe would have not done Talent Development and would have done an easy degree. Also, I wish that my advisors didn't change so often because every time I called about something, I had to speak and explain the whole scenario to a new person. The individual I originally worked with was phenomenal - answering questions, getting information, and getting everything that I needed done as far as transferring credits. But as for my learning experience, the expectations or standards were a bit low and some of the work I did or I saw others did should have been corrected. If someone is saying something wrong, it should have been let known instead of just a kindly pat on the back type deal. It was challenging in that there was a lot to do, but it wasn't challenging from a learning perspective.
I learned a lot but I felt like there's a lot more to learn, per se. In one of my classes, being in finance, we learned about discounting models and stuff like that. We had a project on that but we didn't dive into further details like doing comps. That might be more masters’ work but I just felt like it could have been a lot more in detail. Also, there's a lot of reading and not a lot of videos and with reading, you might miss some information. It would have been nice to have a lecture with it on top of reading. That way, you get more out of it.

The learning experience was all right but it could have been better because of the online thing. I would have preferred more videos. I didn't understand the day and age where you can get people on the videos, and they can teach a class in Zoom before the pandemic. We knew that they could do this before the pandemic because schools were doing it. They can express the instructions verbally. But there were a lot of times that we had some miscommunication because they type something, but you read it in a different way, and you try to chase them down so they can explain it. But then, it takes them forever to respond back sometimes. So I didn't like that part.
I liked that the start of the week was on Tuesday, instead of Monday. I also liked that Ashford had some consistency on when things were due pretty much for every class. It has the same structure, so it wasn't a lot of surprises on how they did things. Overall, the professor were pretty good. Some of them were better than others. But, the most memorable thing with Ashford is that I had a 4-point going through the whole thing and then there was one teacher that for one assignment that got uploaded incorrectly docked my score so that she dropped me down a point, which ruined my 4-point. There's a false perception that online school is just simple and easy - it's not. So, I love that the schoolwork challenged me even though it was online.
Some instructors can focus on the emotional intelligence in dealing with students, listening to hear what the students are asking and not coming across as if the student is trying to get out of work. Also, some of them have higher expectations in regards to what a student knows. My major was Organizational Management and I needed a higher-level English course. So, I was in English Lit. While I passed the course, the teacher was challenging. In-person, she would have been awesome. But when I would ask questions to get clarification, her expectation was that I already knew. One person I spoke with that gave me the wrong information was verbally counseled. That was something I had read online, that the curriculum, teachers, classroom, everything was good, except when it came to Pell Grants, the administration knowing the rules. And there was an issue there with other people as well.
When I read about it online, the people that gave it one or two stars were just people that just dropped out or couldn't hack school. Other than that, the learning experience was opinion-based. Enrolling at University of Arizona Global Campus went smoothly. I liked that I can learn online if I have anywhere to be in person. But, I've had issues mostly with the advisors. The first one was rude and sent me on a wild goose chase on my own to find a book that they were supposed to preload in the class for me. He gave me five different numbers to call. When I told him that I called all those numbers, he told me there was nothing he can do about it. So, both times, I had to get my advisor changed to the same person.
I also had a problem with the enrollment advisor. The second time I went back, she neglected to enroll me in courses that I needed to graduate. So, I thought I graduated last July when in actuality, she didn't load me into the capstone courses. I didn't know about those courses because University of Arizona doesn't give out books. That was a big issue that had to be taken care of on the university's side. She was really great to talk to but on top of that great customer service, she still had a responsibility to do. She enrolled me in the courses that I needed to acquire and I relied on her to get it right.
I didn't get my degree in the mail by September so I had to call and that's how they found the error. It would have never been caught if I didn't call. The guy on the phone that checked with the office was awesome and he got back to me right away. When he found the error, he told me abut it. I asked what my next step was and how I was supposed to come back when I didn't even know who to call to get back into the school so I could finish the capstone courses. He told me that when I have an issue, there's a form that I can submit. I submitted that but a week and a half after, no one was getting back to me so I sent an email to the owner of the university.
I got a response and after that point, my rep Josh straightened things out and I got the courses. What I take issue with is the response time and the level of professionalism at the university. This is why I won't ever suggest any of my friends to go to University of Arizona Global Campus. They'll be paying out-of-pocket and I don't want them to spend their money on something where their issues don't get resolved right away unless they take initiative to make it work. This is not an experience that is worth paying for.

I liked the flow of the classes and it was a really easy schedule to keep up with being on active duty. It rolled with a lot of the work that I had to do. I'm often TDY and had to go away. So, having a consistent schedule when your assignments are due, how to get your discussions in, and so forth, it just worked well for my schedule.
I was with Ashford for quite a while because I was procrastinating. There was one professor that made me want to quit for a little bit with his personality. I could tell just by reading his bio that he wasn't someone who was willing to give a lot of wiggle room. What I liked about Ashford is you're going to have to work your butt off. But, as long as you turn in good, solid-quality work, you're going to be fine. There was a good rigor in the way that courses were taught. There were a couple of classes that did something where I had to record a video of myself giving an overview of the paper I was going to write. I could talk but having to sit in front of a video camera and make that presentation -- yeah. Go through Ashford but be willing to be flexible because you get really comfortable with the type of system that Ashford has, and then all of a sudden, it'll change.

When it came to asking them questions, there were instant responses, which I really enjoyed, because not being in person can sometimes be a little nerve-racking when you need something. As far as the assignments go, everything was laid out very well. If I had to turn in an assignment late because of something happening, they were very understanding as well. The university puts everything out as it is. They give all the information that they require and the information that the student is gonna require.

I was looking for a program to get started in that would meet my schedule. One of the reasons why I went with Ashford was because it was set up for five-week courses. It was one course at a time configuration, which to me was a little bit more manageable than doing more classes at the same time. I am not a person that I can balance between two or three different courses, especially with full-time work. Focusing on one subject at a time was the right thing for me.
With Ashford, it's very aggressive. There are a lot of chapters that had to be read and there were responses all week long. As long as you stay with that schedule, it's manageable. If you skip any part of that schedule, then it’s would be difficult to get back on schedule. You have to commit hours every night in order to achieve anything decent with that course.
Ashford also has an online environment and it was something that worked for me. I did fine with it. But I wish the online environments were more technical in nature. If you do IT, you can do that online but there's not much outside of that. I'm more of a Logical Engineering background with the type of work I do but I'm in a management position. I was looking for something that would help guide more of the technical side of the house. That's really hard to do online. Ashford doesn't really offer much like that.
It took me a couple of years before I finally enrolled with Ashford because they came up with a different program that seemed more suited for what I was looking for. I went with Operational and Analysis, Management of Operations. There were topics that were beneficial to my work. One of the reasons I took the degree that I did was because a lot of these subjects were things that I deal with on a regular basis. The coursework helped reinforce some of the stuff that I was already doing and gave me more information about that. I appreciated that.
I also liked the idea of how Ashford was set up where all the manuals were online. It's nice that you can just get your publications off of that. I was in the military so I had the grant. I didn't have to pay for the books per se and they were available for me to use for the most part, which was exceptional for that aspect. Because of the fact that the programs are so aggressive while I was enrolled throughout it, the other manuals were there so I could always go back and review if I needed to which was nice.
I took two courses for Accounting I and Accounting II. There was a lot of good information. I somewhat struggled. I made it through the classes fine but I would have liked to have been able to go back and review some of the information. I have no ability to do that now. After I finished my last course, I was able to go into the portal and I saw the information from my classes. But the last time I was in, I poked around and I saw that there were no more of the books that I had there available.

I went through one of the University of Arizona's Veteran's Assistance Counselors and they basically helped me with everything that I needed, let me know what I need to get in and it seemed fairly simple. It was nice having the five-week courses. I was able to focus a lot more on that subject at the time and get into the next class and not have to worry about trying to learn multiple subjects at the same time. If I had any questions, the professors were quick to respond and they were pretty clear on their instruction.
The only issue I ever had was one time, while I was still in the army, I had a leadership course that I had to go to. So, for the two weeks that I was there, I was actually enrolled in a class at the same time and got in contact with the professor. My unit sent me to her last minute and let her know and she said that everything would be okay and I could just do my assignments when I got back. I ended up getting back from that and started turning in the assignments that I had missed. She let me know that she doesn't accept late work. So, I almost ended up failing that class. Luckily, I was able to get a D in the class, so I didn't have to pay back all the money that I paid for failing the class. Overall, it was a good program and I ended up getting my bachelor's degree.

I went to the website and they provided everything that I looked for in the program, the services, and resources. They were also really helpful during the enrollment and the process was fairly simple. They guided me very well and any phone call or email I would give, they would respond accordingly and timely. So, it was a very easy process because of the support I was given. Then, I was really impressed with the whole educational part of my experience where I got feedback from every one of my professors. University of Arizona had its good points but it had some frustrating points more on the professional end of things versus the classroom setting. We all are given a counselor. My problem was, every time I would get a counselor and I get situated and we talked about our schedule, they switched me. I cannot count how many different counselors I had within the time I was there to the point I complained repeatedly about it, and they apologized, but they kept doing it. I've had numerous times where a counselor would come in and rearrange my whole schedule that are already worked out with another counselor for a specific reason without letting me know or making me aware it was happening.
I like the discussions. In the classroom setting, I was annoyed because I made more work at the time, but when I started doing it, I realized I liked it. The teacher would ask a lot of questions. You're only required to respond to two people, and I would respond. Then, she'd ask a question, and I felt like I had to answer it, but I liked that. It kept me engaged. Between the teacher's questions and the other students, I was able to look at things differently than just one way. When I was reading it, I was seeing one thing, but then, when reading someone else's, I could see that they could see something different that I hadn't even thought to look for.
The enrollment was pretty easy. Getting into the college was easy. They were very helpful with the step-by-step for applying. Enrolling in classes was pretty set forth. If I needed to take a break, it was easy to know where to go for that stuff. The way it was set out, you had your assignments, and you had to be due on certain days. The problem I ran into on numerous times is you're on a flexible schedule because your life's hectic. So, you'll sit down to do an assignment, and you don't have a lot of time. But if you have any questions, the teacher has up to 48 hours to get back to you and if they don't get back to you in time, you're either turning in the assignment that you're confused on whether you're doing it right, or you're late in turning in your assignment, which they don't credit you. They still penalize you for that. So, sometimes a lot of it is you don't get the response you need fast enough to do the work you need to do.
I really liked the experience, but there were some things that made things harder than it was supposed to be for what I'm signing up for. I don't mind the work. I'm kind of a little bit of an overachiever, so I found I'm more frustrated with myself. It was just that some things were a lot harder than they should have been. Some things were a little more laid back. Trying to find a nice medium was harder at times.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Julie. We try our best to keep students with their assigned advisors, and as you saw, they do sometimes change. We are happy to hear that the rest of your experience was great, and we look forward to your bright future. I went to Ashford online because my brother graduated from Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa. He told me that they had an online program. I was working in retail management at the time, so I couldn't do the traditional school thing. That was how I ended up starting with Ashford. Once I graduated, I looked at a few other schools and was trying to determine what might be the best thing for me. I'm kind of lazy. I was comfortable with Ashford. Once I found out that the process was going to be the same with the exception of adding a week to the classes for the master's program, I just said, "Okay. I'll go ahead and do it." My financial aid and everything were already there.
Enrolling was really good. Initially, I worked with Kyla and I was gonna start right in September. She was super supportive and very encouraging. But I looked at that first class, and I got super overwhelmed. In my mind, I was gonna take six months off. I reached out to her and I was like, "Look, I cannot do it right now." She was like, "Well, at least you let me know in the very beginning rather than starting and needing to drop the class." I dropped it. Then when I was ready to start back, I reached out again at the beginning of February.
My enrollment coach was someone else this time, but the process was still the same. She was super supportive and very helpful. She kind of looked at my financial aid to determine if I was going to need anything else and have them reach out to me about concerns that I had about being able to cover the cost of completing my master's degree because Ashford's program is more expensive than other programs that I looked at. We kind of talked through because the financial thing was my biggest concern.
My learning is very fast-paced, but that doesn't really bother me because I tend to pick things up quickly. So, it's been a good learning experience. I want to do something fast-paced as I am older and I don't have 12 years to finish my degree. When I went to Ashford, I really liked the tutoring chat feature in different classes. The professors are pretty good with what they do. I have, in the past, experienced some inconsistencies. That got to be a little frustrating. I do feel like some instructors are a lot more involved than others.
I would definitely recommend Ashford. I would let others know that it is a little bit more on the costly side. So, they need to ensure that it's really what they want to do. I've had experiences where I had to drop a class and ended up having to pay out of pocket before I could get my degree. I would definitely suggest that they'd be focused. If it gets overwhelming, they should push through, make sure they pass the class and then maybe take some time off after that. I've had to do that a few times as well, and it was super easy. It was accommodated. It didn't stop my progress. But they have to be determined and motivated to complete their degree. They shouldn't think they're going to start and just get a check and be quick because it's not going to work.
We're honored to have you as part of the community, Tieara! Your hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed, and we hope you'll keep in touch. Lastly, we have sent your feedback to our leadership team, and appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback. Keep in touch!

I asked them if I could do sonography, which is an ultrasound thing, and the lady said they have that. But they don't have that. They just have Health & Wellness and I can't really do much except be a health coach with that. So that's a completely different thing than what I wanted to do. But I went through with the program and it was pretty stupid after a while, just answering all the discussions. It felt very repetitive. They could tell the students what they have to offer and what they can do with what they have to offer.

I enrolled two times because I took a break and then I had to enroll again. The first time went quick. The guy that helped me stayed with me. He was responsive to my emails and to my questions. The second time around, the person stayed with me throughout the whole process to make sure that I was signing everything the way I was supposed to. But it kind of went so fast that we made a mistake. He had said something, and then I was disappointed, because later on I learned that it was not true. So they do help you and they stay with you, but they go very quick.
If University of Arizona can simplify the process, it will help the student to not feel overwhelmed and it will save some time to provide the student with the time for questions if they don't understand something. When you have that moment and you're going through the process, you don't feel like stopping and asking questions, because you don't feel like you don't wanna annoy the person because they are already helping you and taking the time to be with you.
A video-taped class will be very helpful. Because I went through the whole business program with no experience and idea. I was coming from another field, and I felt like I was on my own. Sometimes it’s hard to even reach out to the teachers, because even though they respond really quick, they tend to stay within a script. There's really no interaction.

My original counselor was very helpful. The process was really easy to start. The classes were very organized. The only thing I didn't enjoy about the classes was when they changed the textbooks. It was awful. When they changed the textbook over to a new format, it was very confusing and difficult to use. However, while I was taking classes at Ashford, the program changed a few times, and it made it much more difficult for me to maneuver. When I first started my first few classes, I didn't have to apply for any letters of credit. It was kind of done automatically. But over time, they changed the policy where I had to then apply for letters of credit. When I applied for them, I had to take screenshots of them, and I had to get documentation, and then I had to email them to three different parties to make sure that my classes were counted. There was a lot more footwork and because of that, I didn't get my diploma last year.
I technically graduated last March 2020 and the school only recognizes me graduating this year because the letters of credit got very confused in 2019, and they didn't know that I was graduating. I had to go through a whole process, where they took a lot of money out of my paycheck because my school was paying for it, for classes that weren't counted in 2020 that should have been counted in 2019. That process was very stressful. I went through so many hoops.

I liked the fact that everything was all online with University of Arizona. Also, there were very little credits and schools that were nationally accredited, so I chose to enroll there. While I was with them, my advisor was really helpful. He walked me through the entire enrollment process on the phone and he was always available to answer my phone calls. That's a general perk that I liked about that school. No matter what, there were always people available, which is nice since it was all done online and you don't really have someone showing you what to do or handing you tangible paperwork. You kind of maneuver your way through it yourself. And typically, by one call, you could have your questions answered, so it was not like you had to go through a hurdle of people.
Other than that, I was kind of a late bloomer to college and I had a semester under my belt when I came back. There was an extensive amount of reading, almost to the point where it was impossible to do it all and there was rarely ever a time where I finished reading all of my required sources for the week. A lot of it was skimming and scanning through documents. So people need to be prepared about the workload if they're going with University of Arizona, because I am a single mom with two kids and a full time job. They're in sports and we travel for their sports. So at the time, my face was in my computer 24/7. There was so much reading for one assignment. There were six documents with 25 plus pages, plus two chapters that have 50 pages, then on top of life and balancing all that in there, it can get a little overwhelming.

Everything was good with them and the deadlines were reasonable. There was one assignment that I ended up getting flagged for plagiarism and I communicated that with my instructor. I was told where I failed and they gave me opportunities to correct my mistakes. So, that experience was great. The instructors helped me out and they were either really tough, which is understandable, or I was able to ace my classes pretty well. The person that was over me was very nice. When I started working on my master's degree, I told him what I wanted to do with it and I wanted to get my LPC. He told me that I did need to check with the expectations. I checked and found the degree program that would work. Since the University of Arizona didn't offer it anymore, I was told about a parallel program that was really similar and it should replace everything that I needed. But then, I didn't know what I wanted to do because, after I got my bachelor's, I was like, "I don't know if this is what I want to spend my life doing."

As I was asking for comprehension on issues or clarification on things, the interaction was positive but it was straightforward instead of respectful in a few situations. It was very self-taught. You go through some things, and then when things were graded, I didn't like the subjectivity. There was a lot of papers. I know this is an online classroom agenda. That is how most of them go. But if you write a paper and you're covering the things, the grading issue should be based on the content that is written and not the professor's interpretation of the content.

Prior to that, I was at community college. I got married, had kids and put college kind of on the backburner. I decided that it was time to go back. A couple of my friends went through Ashford and I heard great reviews about it so that's what made me choose them. Ever since, it worked out. There were some professors that were very short and sweet and other ones took the time, had structured criticism and really challenged you. It was a good balance. I just joined the military out of high school, so I never really had a chance to go to a university and learn. I had no idea how to write formal essays. Ashford gave me all the tools and stuff I needed to be able to learn how to write for my essays and help me do my research and helped me with my critical thinking. Before I make the decision, I can go to the internet, do some research, and look at multiple sources from different perspectives to make sure I'm getting a valid picture of what I'm looking for or what I'm getting into. The staff was pretty friendly. My counselor was always good too. He helped me sign up for the classes that I needed. The books were free. I enjoyed my experience there.

I got my undergrad at Ashford and everything was smooth for the most part. The lesson plan was a little rigorous but it's to be expected in an online environment. There's a lot more you have to prove in terms of understanding. There were a lot of papers to write and a lot to cover in a short amount of time since the classes were only five weeks long. But I never had any issues. Everybody was always nice. The professors were helpful and knowledgeable. Any questions that I had or anything that I needed help with, they always were there and helped me. Ashford provided a lot of resources aside from the professors. I had librarians, tutors, etc.
I'm in the middle of getting my graduate degree through a state school. It's a lot less expensive. They have advisors that check in with at least once a week. They stay connected and that's something that I didn't get from Ashford. If you aren't having an issue, then you don't hear from them. If you're going to school online, you kind of feel like you're out in the water by yourself and you've got all this stuff that you have to do. The school that I'm going to now kind of take that feeling away by just reaching out, checking in on you, and seeing how things are going. Even if you don't have issues, it's nice to know that they're checking on you.

I've enjoyed my experience. I love all the extra add-ins. The library is wonderful. I started my doctoral through University of Arizona after they made the transition and I'm able to find everything that I need so I'm really excited. I'm glad to be a part of University of Arizona Global. If you would like to get a quality education with support all the way through your journey, then enroll with them. I have had several people that have enrolled after I shared my experience.

I did my online research so I could major in a program that was within my career field, which was long-term care and assisted living as far as health care management. I was looking to obtain more of a corporate job within long-term care. So I decided to go to Ashford due to the fact that it was online. It was very, very flexible for myself and my household. The convenience alone was the number one seller, and the fact that you're able to communicate with your peers. We did a couple of group activities. But other than that, it was more so self-motivating and to have the discipline to accomplish what I set out to do, which was graduate with honors. The only setback is the fact that there was no internship, and I'm still unemployed.
Everything was so impersonal when I was at Ashford. You may have seen a picture of your instructor, but you never heard their voice. I've never heard the voice of either of my instructors. I don't need to talk to you in order to be successful. But it was a huge drawback. Because at the end of the day when you graduate, you don't have anyone that can give you a reference since they don't know who you are. They only know your name and your assignment.
When I applied to one of the programs at one of the university hospitals here to get into their management program, asking for references was a challenge. The dean of my academic structure genre was the one that wrote the reference for me and to the day, I don't even know what it was. He didn't know me from a can of paint besides on what I told him. That was not bad in itself because it was a very competitive program that I did not get in. But I'm sitting here with a master's degree and I have six figures’ worth of student loans I have to pay back, and I don't have a job. I was very excited to graduate with honors and I couldn't walk due to COVID. But at the end of the day, I feel that I'm not even competitive.

I was talking about going back to school and an acquaintance mentioned the school that she was going to so I checked it out. The young lady that I talked to and everyone was really nice. The experience was challenging at times but it's a good thing. It taught me to be a better student. I had to work and put a little extra effort into doing what I was doing. My teachers were clear. If there was something I didn't understand, I reached out to them and they got back in contact with me in a timely manner. They were very helpful and I didn't feel like I was lost at any time. I will recommend Ashford to a friend but I will caution them to make sure that they have the dedication to do it because it's fast paced. You have to stay focused and make time to do the work.

I'm working on my master's right now with the University of Arizona. The enrollment was super simple. I just pretty much filled out paperwork, sent it in, got TA approval, and was accepted. The learning experience has been seamless. They have highly credible instructors, professors, and doctors. It has been a continuous enjoyable experience. I probably wouldn't have traded it for anything else.

The enrollment process was almost too easy I didn't think it was real. Considering I did it all online, all the interactions seem pretty good. There were a few features in some of my classes that I felt were not very hands-on but it's not uncommon. University of Arizona was good. I'm a full-time employee and I could schedule my classes around my availability. It helped me to get the degree that I needed to get a new job.

started my master's degree, I dealt with somebody that was really hard to even speak to. I messaged somebody else and they reassigned me. The learning experience has been great. One of the reasons why a lot of military are more inclined to go here is because you don't have to sit at a specific time for a lecture. When you have time, get out and do your work. That's the best part and the fact that even though you have more work than a normal person would, because the classes are so accelerated, they're done really fast. Then if you need a break, you can take a break.
However, I wish somebody had spoken to me about certain things that I probably should have known, other than just sending me emails. One thing is maintaining a GPA in a master's program that I just didn't know, and then now, you're backtracking, or academic leaves or how the FAFSA works because I applied for FAFSA, but I didn't know if there was paperwork I had to fill out.

Some of the people that I work with graduated from what had been Ashford at the time. They highly recommended it. The enrollment was pretty easy. I did have a couple of issues with my tuition in the beginning, but that got straightened out pretty much right away. I like the total online experience. I like that I didn't have proctored exams and that I was writing papers instead. It just seem to fit my schedule a lot better than having to go to a proctor. It just seem like that was gonna be a big hassle. That ended up being another one of the reasons why I picked Ashford at the time. It was that I didn't have to deal with a proctor. But I did that for my associate's degree. I work at the same time and I just can't walk away from my job, so it made it much harder to try to get your exams done.

University of Arizona Global Campus is one of the finest universities to get an education. They work hard with the students to make sure that they're supported. I had applied to universities across the United States and because I'm 62 years old, none of them would even talk to me. University of Arizona contacted me and I spoke with them. They said, "Don't worry about it. We can get you a student loan. We can get you a grant and we want you." I applied and it was as they said it was. They made everything go through without a hitch. We had a couple of hiccups along the way but that was operator error on my part. I missed filling some stuff up. By the time I’ve gotten my first honor society, I had all these other colleges begging me to go with them. I said, "Nope. You didn't want me when I first get started, you don't get me now."
They need to improve their interface and for people that are on satellite internet. I did the whole thing with a hotspot with my cell phone and it's a real struggle sometimes to get logged on. Also, the grammar on some of the courses is atrocious. It looked like it was written by a junior high school student. There were a couple of classes that were that way and even some of the professors’ grammar's shameful. I don't think they don't have good grammar though. I think it's a matter of lazy speak. It could be that they do it on purpose so that they don't intimidate the students.
All of the professors are very knowledgeable in their field and exemplary except for my very last one in my bachelor's program. I missed summa cum laude by .02 points because of her prejudicial actions. I let it lay where it was and told the dean to leave it alone. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my experience with the university that's why I continued on with my master's with them. I've also already recommended someone and they're on the dean's list.

Enrolling was simple. I just made a phone call, let them know what I was planning on doing and got my transcripts sent to them. Anytime I ever needed something for the most part, I didn’t have any issues with the staff or professors. I like the convenience of being all online and it didn’t matter where I was at.

When I first enrolled and when I enrolled again for my masters, it was a bit confusing because I had two different advisors telling me that we needed to do this and that. But, it all worked itself out. My learning experience with them is going well. I usually recommend a lot of my students to enroll.

During the enrolment process, the advisor stayed in constant contact. In one respect, it was overly persistent but that persistence helped me get past my procrastination. The learning experience was top-notch. On the other side of the coin, there were some inconsistencies from professor to professor with expectations around some details about some processes and techniques.

I've done two degrees with Ashford and I just re-enrolled. There's an advisor who walks you through everything and goes step by step on the phone. So, that was easy. I liked most of the professors I had and I prefer the setup of the classes compared to other schools I've attended.

I have three degrees from Ashford. My advisors were awesome and the school was extremely flexible with me having broken bones multiple times. I had two car accidents and in one, I broke my left leg. In the other, I broke my right foot. So, I was having to take breaks because I was learning how to walk again. I had the greatest experience and I've told at least four people about Ashford. One of them went and got her masters there.

I had just finished my associates then bachelor’s and I wanted to continue on and complete the master’s. The enrolment process with Ashford was smooth and the learning experience was very user-friendly. It was good for being virtual. The instructors were always energetic and they gave great feedback. Everyone was good, even beyond the instructors. The policies in general that the university had supported me when I had some tragedies in the family. I was still able to get the temporary extensions I needed to to be successful in the program. It was a great learning experience for a working adult.

University of Arizona was online and accredited, which made me decide to go there, and I was a stay at home mom. I enrolled five years ago and it was relatively easy. It was not the first time I went through a college admissions process and compared to a brick-and-mortar location, it was a lot quicker. I liked the learning experience. It required you to put into practice the skills that you're learning. It's better equipped to prepare people for the workforce than the classes where it's rote learning where you’re given the information and told to remember it enough to be able to take a multiple choice test. Most of the professors were good. There were a couple that their feedback was lacking a lot. But it was just on grammar and nothing about the actual substance to the assignment.
I wasn't aware though of how much out of state tuition and online schooling cost. It was a lot of money. I have friends who have similar or the same degrees as I do who paid half as much as I did for their degree. Other than that, University of Arizona was great. It gave me the opportunity to further my education when I had to drop out of my first college. So it was good to be able to go back and be able to balance that with all the new things that were in my life such as being a mom. It was good working around my work schedule as well once I started working. All around, it made it possible for me to get a degree that I probably couldn't have gotten going to a brick-and-mortar school.

Depending on who I talk to, enrollment can be a little tedious with the people who don't necessarily know what they're doing. Sometimes, I get the runaround. Other than that, it's very simple. Though there were some teachers who didn't pay too much attention and didn't answer questions when I asked, my learning experience was really good. Try the University of Arizona Global Campus.
