Last year, I moved into my new home and I mailed out my first mortgage payment, cable/phone and my electricity bill with no problem. My second payments were due. I mailed the same ones all on time the following month. Well, my electric got paid, but the others somehow never made it! I ended up paying late fees and was charged for making stop payments on two checks from my bank. Yes, it really hurt, but that was a lesson learned that I need to go to the post office and mail my bills or just go on the internet. Now today, I just called the water board to see when I would receive my water bills and the lady tells me it was due April 14th and mailed out in March and she didn't receive any returned mail from my address! What's next? Is there something that can be done because I am being charged late fees and for stop payments on checks? This is really not fair.

I cannot get mail forwarded. I put in an address change in early March 2009 and again on April 27, 2009. I went to the old post office and the "carrier supervisor" was rude, obnoxious, arrogant, loud and disrespectful. I shouldn't have to go through this at 62 years of age to get my mail. I put in another request on April 27, 2009 - got no confirmation. I called Customer Service on May 4, 2009 and was told there was nothing they could do about the mail or the supervisor.

This is the third time within a few weeks that I haven't received parcels from the post office. Whether it's USPS or Media Mail, they're all the same. The postman doesn't leave a pick up slip telling you that there's a package for you. As a result of this, the parcel is sent back to the sender and I have to pay all over again for the parcel to be resent. This is one of the worst post offices around and it has been for years. Please, somebody, straighten out this sorry excuse for a post office!

They were just returning to sender or throwing it away. Then letters that were addressed to my new address are also missing. I have gone two weeks with missing mail and no one knows where it is. They tell me to just be patient.

I have filed several fraud/theft complaints and have spoken to several people at my post office in Kansas City and in her post office in San Francisco. I even called the USPS Fraud complaint hotline. I’m not sure if the recipient really did not receive the item or if the item was stolen by postal worker or misplaced internally. I sent a very important bank document via express mail and was guaranteed that it would arrive by noon today. I paid them their money. My mom called today to talk to the bank and they had not received the documents; that was at 2 pm. I called to track and confirm the number, 800-222-1811, several times today with no new information. I called and talked to Customer Service on my break at work. They did not offer any help, just told me the status that it had left Alabama and that was all the information they had on it, that it may be still on the truck or arrived but just not put in the system yet.
I told her I knew it hadn't arrived yet. She told me to check back later. I waited until I got home and checked on my computer and no new information was available so I called customer service at 800-275-8777 and the woman I talked to gave me a number to call which she said was for consumer affairs so I could file a complaint. When I got off the phone with her, I called the number she gave me and it was for a law firm in Birmingham, AL. So I called the 800-275-8777 number back and talked to another woman. I explained to her the situation and told her the number I was just given for consumer affairs was the wrong number and I wanted to right number so I could call and make a complaint. She informed me that I was not allowed to call them yet and would not give me the phone number after I asked her many times. She said I had to give it 24 hours after it was supposed to arrive before I was allowed to make a complaint.
I told her I had my receipt and it was guaranteed to be there by noon today and was not there still at this time of day which was 4:45 pm. I told her they should not tell people it will be there at a certain time and then charge a person for it when they can't make it happen. I also informed her that it could cost me $200 since it wasn't there. She told me, "Well, you can take your receipt to the post office and fill out a form and receive a refund." $15.20 is not $200. So I don't know how that was supposed to ease my mind. So our call ended with no resolve to my issue and no phone number to consumer affairs and no idea where that document is.

I am writing this out of desperation and frustration with trying to obtain answers about a package I mailed that was never received. I mailed an extremely important package a month ago that my daughter needed for online schooling. It was a laptop computer on loan from the online school program. I made the mistake of not getting insurance on the package, but had mailed several packages recently to the same address and didn't have any problem. I trusted that the United States Post Office would deliver the package. This missing package has caused more problems than you can imagine. My daughter has not been able to properly participate in the online classes, and the stress this has caused me is indescribable.
As I previously mentioned, this is on loan from the online school program which means that I would be responsible for paying for it if it isn't returned. I am a single mom and I cannot afford to pay for its replacement. I have filed a report that it is missing, and have been trying to get answers as to where this package might be, but without success. I have made numerous calls (detailed below). I tried to get a phone number for the Atlanta mail recovery office, but nobody seems to have this phone number. It is my hope that I can find someone to actually care about this matter enough to try to locate this package. I can't stress enough how important this is, and how appreciative I would be to retrieve this package. I realize that I should have purchased insurance, but I did pay to mail the package and I trusted that it would be delivered. I am not asking for compensation. I am asking for someone to please find it.
I mailed the package on March 25, 2009 at the Indianola Post office 15051 with Clerk **. It was addressed to my daughter, Allie of ** Kittrell, NC 27544. It was a brand new Dell Laptop with accessories including a headset. It was in a Dell box which I covered with brown paper Giant Eagle bags. It weighed 12 lbs 6.4 ozs. It cost $13.82 to mail it parcel post which I paid for with my visa card. The return address on the label is Leslie ** of ** Gibsonia, PA 15044. I called 1-800-ask-usps on April 9, 2009 and spoke to a supervisor to report that it has never been delivered and she said she reported it to the Pittsburgh Consumer Affairs office.
Debbie and her supervisor Elizabeth ** said they both emailed the Atlanta Mail Recovery Center through their intranet, but they have not heard anything back from Atlanta and nor have I. No one is calling me back. I have called Debbie and her supervisor Elizabeth ** at ** several times over the past month and all they tell me is that they are sorry and there's nothing more they can do. I need this laptop back. It belongs to PA Learners Online Charter School and it needs to be returned to them. Someone needs to care enough to find this laptop for me.
I would greatly appreciate any help in retrieving this computer. Thank you in advance for your assistance and consideration in this matter. I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible since everyday without it is affecting my daughter's schoolwork. If you require any further information, you may contact me at **. Thank you kindly.

I am writing this letter for my friend. On April 12, 2009, he went to the post office to send a birthday gift for his son in Florida without buying insurance. Today, April 23, 2009, my friend and I went to the post office to ask if the gift box was sent or not. The supervisor answered that he can't check because my friend didn't buy the insurance (the insurance paper has the tracking number). So I asked the supervisor that if people send some boxes without buying insurance, employees working at the post office can throw away or steal them because they know those boxes have no insurance (no insurance paper on the box). He replied that he has no responsibility for that.

After waiting in line for over 15 min., I finally got to the window. I asked the clerk for 5 Priority stamps and paid for the transaction with a credit card. Since I had been there such a long time, I left in a hurry, without looking closely at the receipt (my mistake). When I got home, I looked at the stamp and saw it was for $17.50. I looked at it several times, even with a magnifying glass. Then I read my receipt and confirmed that the clerk had sold me 5 stamps for $17.50, so I ran to the post office and requested that the error be straightened out and an exchange of postage be made.
The clerk insisted that I had ordered 5 Express Mail stamps. I told him I said Priority stamps, and showed him the envelopes I still had in my hand, which had giant blue letters saying Priority Mail. He said, "Read the receipt, it says all sales are final." I insisted, "Even if you made the mistake?" He said ... I demanded to see the manager. Four min. later, a shoddy woman who looked more like a warehouse employee than a manager came up to the window. I explained the problem, and she merely looked at me, and pointed to the receipt and said ... I asked to at least be able to exchange them for regular stamps. She only replied ...
Anyway, we went back and forth for several minutes, until our tempers rose to screaming levels. I was then escorted out of the Post Office, filled with anger, and disappointment, and with a charge of $87.50 for stamps useless for my needs, as they are unbreakable. I went to another post office, and spoke with a manager, and she said, "They should have been able to exchange them for you. I can't do it because it confuses our inventory system, but they should be able to do it ..."
It is extremely disappointing that a business transaction is treated as though we were dealing with a communist, socialist governmental office, where citizens have absolutely no rights, no privileges, in such an unforgiving manner. Maybe I did make a mistake and did in error ask for Express Mail stamps instead of Priority Mail stamps. How can they be immune to complaints? Why is it that they are able to mistreat and abuse customers and yet go unpunished and untouched?
One cannot even speak with a manager or a supervisor. They do not give telephone numbers anymore, and if anyone tries to use their 800 number, all one can hear is a silly & useless recording that leads nowhere. Please help. What do I do with these stamps? Why is there no recourse? My credit card company will not do anything because I still have the "merchandise in my possession ..." Is there any help out there?

Starting sometime in March, our mail was being returned to sender, stating that it lacked the correct apartment number. We have lived here since 1989 and the carriers know we are here, but they’re returning our mail nevertheless. In the last month we have had calls from our mortgage company, credit card companies, and some of our utilities, inquiring if we have moved. Uh no, we haven’t moved, but we're no longer recognized by the Post Office. After these notifications we had to scramble, wondering what other bills we've not received because they've been returned and it’s pretty impossible.
You give a company your address and apartment number and if they get the apartment number wrong, but you get your bills for years even so and then all of a sudden the Post Office decides they’re going to stop this practice. It’s frustrating and in these economically woeful times, incredibly stressful. I received a bill the other day from Con Edison for $622.00 and was shocked to see a bill this high, until I realized that I hadn't paid the previous bill. And why hadn't it been paid? Because we never received it; it was obviously returned and yes, after looking at the bill, I saw that the apartment number had been reversed by someone with apparent dyslexia.
So now I have this massive bill, which I wouldn't have had if I’d gotten last month’s bill. Can you see my concern here? Strangely enough, I get every unsolicited piece of junk mail and all magazines, whether they have the correct apartment number or none at all. Can something be done about this? And the Post Office is crying for more money, give me a break! The mail system needs to be privatized. Many thanks.

I placed my mail on hold there so it would not be delivered to my home due to a break-in. When I called to check and see if I had any mail, Mr. ** answered the phone. He was very rude and said that they don't hold mail for a vacant house even after I explained that I filled out the yellow card and my mail was indeed on hold. I was up there the previous day checking on it. He abruptly put the phone down and came back to the line very nasty and said, "There ain't no mail here for you." I knew I had something because the guy the day before said I did but it wasn't what I was looking for so I left it. They said if I picked it up, it would release the hold so I left it.
However, on the phone, Mr. ** told me it wasn't his problem about my house getting broke in; they have procedures and policies to follow and I was lying so it turned into a screaming match and I asked to speak with the manager who I did talk to, Mrs. Jones. She told me that she was sorry about him and that she has had complaints about his insensitivity. This was on 4/16/09. I called back on 4/18 to check and again I got him. It was the same thing this time; he was rude again and he told me that he wasn't going to check my mail to see if I had any and to put in a change of address knowing I have no address to change because I have not yet moved. He refused to put someone else on. He said he was the only one there. I told him that he does not need to be in Customer Service and hung up.
I then went to the post office. The lady at the window helped me and she went and got my mail which was there. When she went back there, I heard him yell. I already talked to that lady on the phone but he wouldn't come up front and the other customers in the lobby heard him too.

I am a tad ticked off on this date. After fighting with the postmaster at the district office consumer affairs office, the post office is still refusing to deliver mail to the group home where my daughter is currently living since mid-January 2009. I applied for a hardship for my daughter and was denied for this reason for Kristin from the time she was born until March - Sept 2008 where she lived in Des Moines, IA. She came back home from September 2008 until mid-January 2009. The rest of the time she lived in a small farming rural area town with approximately 98 families.
During this time, she learned to ride a 3-wheeler bike supervised at the church parking lot in Linden, IA. This was a safe environment for her. We have no grocery store, no street lights for traffic. We contract out the police department through another nearby town. Kristin suffers from Severe to Profound Mental Retardation, Epilepsy and Borderline Cerebral Palsy. She was not able to ride a bike until a few years ago, after a lifetime of therapy, supervision and a lot of hard work to teach her to ride an adult size 3-wheeler bike.
The postmaster spoke to a 3rd party regarding Kristin's capability, ignoring the doctor's orders that she cannot get her mail curbside, or collect it independently and she will never be able to. Now that she lives in a new town with unfamiliar territory, what was once a safe environment is no longer existing. Where she lives now is not a safe haven where she can enjoy one of the little things she used to be able to do independently. The postmaster has never met my daughter and took the word of a 3rd party. They denied my request for a hardship based on half knowledge and half facts.
I am seeking outside legal assistance to start a discrimination suit against the postmaster personally in Adel and against the United States Postal Service itself. They have never met my daughter and/or asked me about her capabilities. If anyone has any additional information or knows of a good attorney, please contact me. I also find it appalling that the post office would share the information with a person who is not the guardian, conservator or relation.

We are all forced to get and pay for a PO box. I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Affairs and claims dept in the USPS in Portland, OR to no avail. They won't even respond to me. I have called again today and was told it was still not completed and they did not know why! She told me to leave another message with a woman named Patricia. I left the message again. It has been almost 2 years since I filed that complaint! I have been sent to collections for bills I never received at least 5 times now.
This happens because a lot of businesses, as well as people, will remove the PO box from my address line and send it directly to the street address, not knowing that I don't get mail at that address. Then the mail is returned to sender. I cannot believe there is no delivery to my address! How can they keep getting away with this? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

I am having problems with my daughter's mail not being delivered. This has resulted in her immigration process being derailed and may result in deportation. I have contacted the supervisor already 3 times and called the 800 number for USPS three times. Each time, they act as if it is a new complaint. Much of my critical mail goes missing. I had 2 checks and my vehicle registration lost in the mail. There are more items that I have documented, but this is a start. I wonder what other documents may be missing or other key mail that has been lost. Other neighbors have similar complaints, but this is anecdotal information at this time.
I am concerned as to my daughter's immigration status. The lost checks resulted in losing time from my business. Also, it resulted in an erroneous 1099 being filed, so now I have to file an amended return to the IRS.

I sent an article of jewelry through the mail (diamond pendant made up of my mother's diamond wedding ring and anniversary diamonds around it). This item was lost or stolen through the mail. I insured the item for $2,000. I had an appraisal made when the pendant was fabricated (it was valued at $2,900 at that time, 2005). I sent this in as proof of value along with a receipt of $500, in which I paid for the silver mounting the family heirlooms where placed. I received a check for $508 only and not the full $2,000. The USPS stated that according to their guidelines set up by the USP Service Headquarters, I wouldn't receive any more money. Ridiculous! I couldn't get a receipt since my father purchased the diamonds in the late 60's. How can they sell insurance to people legally and then not pay out? Can you offer some words of wisdom? Consequences: I am out the remaining $1,500, time and stress. It's bad enough they lost an irreplaceable item, but to have to go through these means to get the rest of the insurance money is unbelievable!

On January 3, 2009, I was driving past the post office when a postal truck came out of the office to begin his run and struck my vehicle. He claimed fault but at the time, I did not have insurance on my car because I was laid off and my insurance lapsed. It has been a nightmare dealing with the postal service on my own. I was told they would not pay for my rent a car. They would pay only the amount of time for the car to be repaired, which was 14 days. I, thinking I would be reimbursed, rented a car on my own for the amount of time I was without a car because I had to look for work. I paid a lot of money out of pocket and they treated me so bad like I was the one to hit them.
This has left me in financial ruins now. I'm a single mother and I am about to lose my home. Please, it is only right that they pay me what they owe me. I've prayed over this. I have been walking since and catching the bus, which is something I have never had to do before. Please help me. Thank you.

During the holiday season for 4 months at the end of 2008, the post office selectively and indiscriminately decided not to deliver certain pieces of mail to our address, where we have lived for 32 years. If the omitted mail had been junk mail, that would have been fine. But they did not deliver bills, billing statements, packages and payments. I had one gas card bill for a card I barely use which had a $30 balance. The bill never arrived and since I hardly use the card, I had no idea that I was carrying an unpaid balance. I know a lot of companies send 0 balance bills out but with everyone going green, we honestly thought they might have gone green and reduced unnecessary mailings as well. (Cut to me trying to use my Visa and being declined and told to contact Experian for the answer.)
I found my $30 unpaid bill had now ballooned to a $90 bill with penalties and I had been reported as a delinquent credit risk. My credit took a hit. My credit agencies treated me as if I was a criminal, despite 23 years of continuous, timely, paying service to them. And when I filed a complaint at the post office, I was told it could not possibly be their fault as I must have moved or filed a change of address report. So my credit got slammed, I got blamed, and no one whose fault it really is (the Post Office) will be accountable. We now call when we don't receive our bills which to this day, we are still not receiving regularly. The moral of this is keep a log of the bills you should be receiving each month and if you don't receive them, call for a copy to be sent to you.

She then asked if I was sending the box first class and if so, she'd let me use the tape. I said no, I was not sending it first class. I told her the box contained military books for my daughter who is Marine needed for a promotion as she was going back to Iraq. I had been keeping track of my package on the USPS website through my email. On April 8 at 10AM, it stated that my package was delivered but I did not receive it. The USPS honestly has not been much help in finding the package. So far, they have told me that the route was split that day and the person who they believe may know where the package is off of work until Monday. They told me they had left a message on his answering machine, but if he didn't call back, I would just have to wait. I asked if I would be reimbursed for my lost package if it was due to the driver's own carelessness. I was then told no, unless of course I bought insurance for the package.
I've never encountered a problem ordering or receiving anything I purchased from offline. I also don't know how I would go about purchasing insurance since it was never brought to my attention before. I am quite frustrated over this situation mainly with the way the USPS is handling the ordeal. They tell me someone will give me a call back and then no one does. We have had mail disappeared sporadically since late July, 2008. We have not received bills, checks, etc. We have logged several complaints with our local post office about this. The first complaint was in July, 2008, then again in August, 2008, another in November/December 2008, another in January, 2009. In January, they did red flag our mailbox which put it on a special watch of some sort for a week or so. About a week after this expired, we started missing mail again. Finally on 2/12/09, I got through to John who proposed they would handle the issue in two ways: 1) he would physically come out to the mailbox (we have a cluster mail boxes in our neighborhood) and verify that our mail was not being mis-slotted and; 2) he would log all mail coming into the post office for one month, we would also keep a log for a month, then we would compare notes. He promised to contact us again in a month to see how things were going.
On 2/13/09, John did come out and check the mail boxes and called my husband at home to confirm this. John asked my husband if anything had been returned to sender and we were called about it - these had never happened. This told us and John that the issue was somewhere between the post office and our mailbox. My husband asked John about the possibility of involving a Postal Inspector. John stated that this was not going to happen as they were busy with other matters. John was supposed to contact us again in mid March so that we could compare the logs. We received no phone call, no notes, nothing. I called back to speak with John on Thursday, 4/2, and was told he was already gone for the day. John called me back on 4/3 to ask what he could help me with.
I reminded him about the issue and the log that we were to review and he stated that it was up to the carrier to keep the log and that he could not be expected to monitor all that came into the post office. He said he would check with the carrier and call me back shortly. He never called back. I called again on Wednesday, 4/8. John said he had forgotten to follow up on this and would speak with our carrier first thing the next morning and call me back. I have decided to pursue the Consumer Affairs route assuming I will not get a satisfactory answer tomorrow morning when/if he calls back.

I started a home business 4 months ago that requires me to visit my local post office and mail packages daily. My fiance was once friends with one of the employees, Tim **, that ended badly and the man seems determined to make our daily shipments as difficult as possible.
Over the last 4 months, we have never once gone through Mr. Tim's line without him pointing out something wrong with our packages. There have been legitimate complaints, certainly, but there have been many more trumped up issues that he takes with us, such as, the quality of my handwriting (I assure you it is quite legible - we now print all labels from the PC), to the size of the envelope (we now use high quality postal approved bubble mailers), to the exact placement of the stamp (we now use postage printed from the USPS site).
Initially, we made errors because we were new. We take all advice from the post office seriously to help expedite our shipments, thus making our customers happy. In the beginning, we tried mailing in heavy duty commercial envelopes (our product is small and weighs less than an ounce) and we were told that wouldn't work because the item was too thick.
So then we changed to an approved mailer and things were fine for a month or so. This cost us money as we have to buy our supplies in large bulk quantities for them to be affordable to a small business like ours. But after about a month, Mr. Tim ** told us the mailers were too thick to be mailed at that rate and we would need to change our methods. So we found larger bubble padded envelopes (High quality Kraft bubble padded mailers #000, fully postal approved) to mail at the First Class Parcel Package rate. This went well for almost 2 months.
Today, when we checked our business PO Box, we found all the packages we shipped yesterday were back in our box with a note from Mr. Tim ** that said the mailers were not thick enough to use the First Class Parcel package rate and we would have to send it Priority Mail (3x as expensive and cost prohibitive to the inexpensive items we sell) to use our USPS label with Delivery Confirmation.
This has become beyond absurd. None of the other employees behave this way and are very friendly. But Mr. Tim ** is the "Trainer" and is quick to comment even from another window if, by chance, we don't get his line. He's very quick with the comment, "It's in the manual. I can show you exactly where it is - don't accept that package." It's humiliating to be treated this way daily in front of everyone in line. There's always a line, of course.

Weeks later, they gave me the excuse that my mailbox was too high and that they will not deliver up there, but my neighbor's mailbox is at the same distance. All summer long, they came up with different excuses. During the winter time, I had to go to shovel the snow from around the mailbox, pregnant, so I could get the mail and they still didn't deliver. They said that the mailbox was too high, the sidewalk wasn't shoveled. Then they gave me the excuse that my mail has never been returned, but I started getting calls from my bills that the mail was being returned.
I went personally to the post office and the lady told me that I moved and that I didn't change the address. I told her that I never moved and that I've lived in the house for a very long time and that I never moved. She assured me that I was going to receive my mail. Again, I started getting calls now from bill collectors saying that the mail was being returned. I was supposed to get my check from disability and all the checks were returned by the post office. I just had a check returned last week and I needed the money to pay the mortgage.
Because they are returning my mail, I receive my paychecks late. Because of them, I have been paying my bills late because I don't receive my money on time. I just wanted to comment on the USPS. I have hauled mail as a contractor's employee for 7 years. I have been in a lot of postal facilities and have some comments. First off, the problems really start with the management. Having met many postal managers, I would say that maybe 2 in every 10 is actually an intelligent, decent, moral human being and the good ones are usually harassed mercilessly by the useless ones. This sets a general negative tone in the whole environment that I can literally feel when I walk in these places. Managers are supposed to be leaders and leadership works from the top down and sets the example for the operation.
Additionally, the civil service exam that postal employees take is way too easy and the favoritism given to veterans and other special groups needs to end. Only the real top scoring people should be considered for hire and then only after they are interviewed and a good feel for their personality is established. Congress is the only one having the authority to make some of these changes. Many USPS managers should simply be fired and fired without any severance as they are mostly just mean, arrogant, ignorant, and completely immoral. Many are truly evil.

She told me that I would have to pay the fee or my box would be closed - there was no way around it. My so-called mail box is a no fee box due to the fact that I have never received street delivery. When I informed her of this, she stated that I would still have to pay this fee and then wait a year to fill out the no fee box waiver for the following year. Also, she stated that she was new to the office and was sent to fix it.
Apparently it had been mismanaged for years, and that is a quote. So, because they lost my fee waiver papers, and because it was mismanaged for years ... We spoke to a district supervisor. This district supervisor named Stephanie told us that a route-delivery man would drive through the area the next day and would tell her whether we were eligible for street delivery. That was yesterday. Today, we received a phone call that the route delivery man determined that we could get street delivery. So even though we never have, and there is no mail box at the street, apparently the USPS delivery man has determined on this very day that we are now eligible for street delivery and the PO Box that we have had for the last 11 years will now cost us 40 dollars. Thanks so much USPS. I guess I shall follow the rest of the country and start paying my bills online, because I do not agree with the way I have been treated, not to mention the mail that has been lost and stepped on in the Laytonville Post Office all of these years.

I mailed a package to an APO with a Wii Fit and a Rock Band 2 for PlayStation 3. When the package arrived, the bottom was cut and the Wii Fit was gone. I went and saw Mr. ** on December 16th, 2008 to file a claim. I called him in February and he told me that he would file it again. On March 5, I called him again and then took him copies of all the papers I had so that he could fax them. He told me that he has faxed these papers. The Claims department still has no claim on file for me. I then called the Claim department and complained. I had a lady by the name of Sherry call me and she told me to fax her all the papers I had. I faxed her copies of the papers on March 20th at 7:14 am.
I called on April 1st to check the status of my claim and again there is nothing filed. Now I am being told that I didn't get the right paperwork filled out and that I need to call another number. I called that number and it is automated and there is no one to speak to. I just want the money back for the item that I insured. I am tired of getting the runaround by the postal service.

I sent two money orders by priority mail with delivery confirmation. When I checked the delivery confirmation on their website, it was last scanned in NJ. It was going to PA. I called and inquired. They gave me a confirmation # and said someone would call me back in two days. This was on a Thursday. So I said, "Will that be Monday?" The woman said no but by the end of business on Sat. I called on Sat. and the woman told me it wouldn't get a call until Mon. On Mon, a man called me and repeated the same information that was on the tracking website. He said I could call the local PA office and see if they had any more info. I suggested that he call them. This was the start of the big runaround. He said he was waiting for them to call back, or he was going to be off the next day, or his colleagues said he was waiting to hear back, that he had spoken to them and they were checking on it. I called them on their inconsistencies and never heard back.
I reported my lost two more times and the third time, a woman said she was going to escalate this case. When I called back two days later, they said that they couldn't help or give me any more information and that I needed to call Consumer Affairs. When I called Consumer Affairs, they said it had been closed out and they sent me a letter saying they had no more information on this case. So essentially, escalation was closing the case and sending me a letter. I asked about the money orders and have been told several things. I had to wait 30 days before filing a trace and I have to wait 60 days. If they were stolen and cashed, I am out the amount of the money orders. I had a supposed supervisor hang up on me while waiting to speak with her supervisor. There seems to be a lot of lip service with no actual results. When I pushed for more information or complained about the lack of results/information, they responded with hostility.

I am writing this letter of complaint about the unreasonable and offensive attitude of USPS staff, **, who works at USPS location 3727 S ALASKA ST, Seattle, WA 98118.
Incident #1: I am a small business owner and I have been using USPS Click-N-Ship to enjoy the clearer transaction and online discount. I usually bring the packages to the local post office for drop off for faster delivery. However, the offensive and derogatory attitude of a USPS staff, **, made me consider switching to other shipping carriers. The USPS staff did not know about the online discounted price and required me to pay for the differences for 3 packages. I told him that the weight was correct and I just used the USPS website to pay online that morning. He argued that the online USPS website was contracted to an outside vendor so their calculation was not correct!! I insisted that he check with other coworkers. Another more knowledgeable staff pointed out that there is an online discount based on a postage table posted right on their counter. So he had no other choice but just collected the 3 packages without insisting that he was right.
Multiple incidents: ** is well-known in the neighborhood for his derogatory attitude towards the Chinese community. He always gives a hard time for Chinese people but on the other hand he sirs the ** people. His racist behavior is not acceptable and a simple exit poll at the post office would review his negative attitude and behavior in the past.
While I would consider switching to other mail carriers like UPS and Fedex because of their websites, service and cost, I still hope that USPS will take positive action to improve their services so that customers will feel respected and valued.
