In the last six months, I have had both cards, which I have sent from the Post Office. The packages were received with no content. In each case, there was money or expensive presents that were never received. The money was for my grandson on his birthday. The package I received today had a sticker on it which said "package received without contents". This was a birthday present from my kids which contained an expensive custom wallet. There used to be good honest people that worked for the Post Office but that apparently has changed. I will never use this service again to send anything of value. I realize packages can be insured against these internal thieves, but that doesn't change the violations. I know it's useless to depend on the Post Office to investigate. We did that the first time with my grandson's money. I hate to think that the economy has made honest men thieves or we are employing thieves at the Post Office. But I don't recall ever having this problem with the Post Office in over 65 years.

On July 16th, I had to go online to change address for my mail service to a new address. The mail was to start being delivered on July 20th, which I stated on forms made and would take up to ten days, so I waited before going to Post Office in Longs sc 29568. They told me that it was the Post Office in Conway SC 29526 that was the problem with the mail. So, I called the Conway SC Post Office. I was told that this route does not have a regular carrier that it is someone different all the time. I knew this after living at the same address for over five years. I called the 800 number that was supplied from the form I received for confirmation on address change.

After speaking with someone at the 800 number, I did start to receive mail piece by piece, and if I didn't receive certain types of mail, I would go to the old address (pay stubs) sure enough, there they would be along with my paid subscription of magazines at the old address. I would start receiving mail again come time again for pay stubs go to the old address and same thing, there they were. I came from the Post Office today, August 27th 2010, in Conway, SC 29526 and asked to speak with the head postmaster. I was told by the clerk that he was on vacation, so the clerk suggested a supervisor and I said okay, I'll try. She proceeded to find out what the problem was which was also a waste of time. She said that she knew the problem and it was that the postal carrier for that area is on vacation which I knew was a crock. Someone else came to the window because the supervisor was having lunch. I told her the problem, then she left and came back stating that she could not find the address change in the computer but she would fix the problem.

So after waiting, a man came to the window with a piece of paper acting like he did not want to wait on me. He identify himself and did not have a name tag on; I took that he was the supervisor on duty at the time. He practically closed the door on my face and said that he would be right back. He came back to the window and brought a piece of paper asking if I were Stacie ** when my paper work stated ** and told the other clerk it was mail transfer for the whole ** Family. He proceeded to tell me that the address I gave him was a postal box (like a rental from the PO) I told him no, it was not a postal box.

My old address was and had been for ten years or more ** and he told me no, it wasn't. He again acted like I was a problem that he had to wait on me. He wouldn't listen to the problem and was in such a rush rubbing his eyes and face like get out of my face and was kind of hurry.

This has been a long going problem and I want the matter resolved. Since I didn't get anywhere with the postal service office on site or by phone to the 800 number, their office gave me for complaints and they put me off on this office. I would appreciate a response to this matter. They wouldn't want their mail out there just floating around somewhere. I work third shift and should have been getting my rest but I had to drive across town to try and get my mail transfer resolved.

In the last two weeks, I have mailed out two priority mail packages at different times from Vero Beach, FL 32962 to Dedham, MA 02026 and both packages arrive destroyed. One package had a handmade picture album and the packaged had been crushed, the binding of the book broken. The second package I put extra tape on the priority box and that one arrived open on both ends and held together with a rubber band. Now I am paying top dollar to have these packages shipped and they are trashed. No wonder the post office is losing business. I have sent packages by general delivery and they arrive intact. I spent the extra money and what happens, my packages are trash. I want to thank the post office for their top notch service, not! In this economy, my money is important to me, maybe not to the post office.

A package was sent overnight on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 12:10 pm using USPS shipping from Pasadena, CA to Chicago, IL. It was paid in full to arrive before 12:00 pm (noon) on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 and no signature was required. Myself and my spouse stayed home from work all day to receive the package. It did not arrive before noon, no notice was left in the mailbox, on the door or anywhere in plain sight. The doorbell was not rung, no knock on the door. I checked the tracking number online immediately only to find that the package claimed to have been in transit to my apartment. I waited until 4 pm to check the tracking number online again, after having checked the mail retrieval area of my apartment complex several times to discover no package or notice was left and that the online status claimed that the mail carrier had "attempted to deliver the item at 10:19 am on August 24, 2010 and a notice was left." Clearly no notice was left and no indication that an "attempt" was made (no note, no knock, no ring) when the package was meant to be left at the site without a delivery signature needed.

The website stated that any issues regarding failed attempts be reported immediately to a representative at 1 800 ASK USPS (275 8777). I called on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 to report failed delivery on the item paid to deliver before noon and was told specifically to contact the USPS consumer affairs department at 312 983 8403 between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm to report the specific incident. But first I asked if I could pick up the parcel in person at the carrier location.

I was instructed to call 773 772 4734 between the hours of 8:15 am -6:00 pm for the Wicker Park Post location at 1300 N Ashland Ave to ensure the package was held there and that I may be certain to pick up the package at this location as all packages including PO Boxes, commercial packages, residential packages, overnight, expedited or other packages come to this location only. At the time of speaking with this representative, it was past 5:45 pm. I called the Ashland location at 5:50 pm, no response. I called at 8:20 am again with no response. I resorted to going to the Ashland location in person to inquire about retrieving my package only to find out that the sign on the door says the Ashland location opens at 8:30am, not 8:15am.

To my disadvantage again, I was told by the attendant on duty that no packages are ever sent to the Ashland location with the exception of packages sent to PO boxes only. Additionally, she handed me a photocopied and cut piece of paper indicating the actual location (Wicker Park Courier Annex on 1419 Carroll Street) to pick up any packages addressed to recipients without a PO Box. Moreover, she claimed that she and several postal employees at this site had "repeatedly informed the corporate offices that the 1300 N Ashland location only holds packages for PO Boxes."

So not only has the entire day of August 24 been wasted on waiting for a package that should have arrived at noon, the entire morning of August 25 has been wasted for specifically confirming to 1 800 ASK USPS that the package was sent to a residential address (not a PO Box) which they should know where customers can pick up packages not linked to a PO Box and therefore, being given the wrong location information by corporate offices and then by being redirected a second time to go to the Carroll office. Both locations are in opposite directions of my home and required over 2 hours of travel time. This has significantly disturbed my and my husband's working days and now requires me to physically go to a third location to pick up the package. I reschedule all of my appointments for that day and missed on several client/business meeting translating into hundreds of dollars.

I called the Wicker Park Courier Annex several times after returning home from the Ashland post office with both numbers given to be busy. I continued to call to try to get online with a live representative and finally spoke with a female. I described that a package did not arrive at the stated time and I would like to pick it up in person. After explaining that no notice was left and there is no indication of attempted delivery, I asked her to check if the item was at that location. After 5 minutes of silence on hold, she comes back on the phone to tell me that she indeed does have the package at the Courier Annex and she is holding it in her hand. I confirmed the package tracking number with the one I used online, I asked her name (Miss **), I asked her to hold onto the package and not to send it out as I will be there today, August 25, 2010, as soon as possible to pick it up in person. She told me that would be fine, that she would hold it and reminded me that office closed at 3:30 pm. After 45 minutes of transit, I arrive between 1:00 pm -2:00 pm at the location only to receive a disgruntled attitude and snark from a woman at the counter who had the same voice, demeanor and poor tone as the woman on the phone.

Upon arrival, I had to explain the entire situation again, I gave her the item tracking number I used to check status online. I gave my ID card and proof of residency in Chicago. After 10 minutes of disappearing into the backroom, and with a line of 3 customers behind me, she came back informing me that I should have gotten the notice claiming delivery. Alarmed, I reminded her that no notice was left regardless of the online tracking status note. I asked her where my package was after giving her all the necessary information and she said that it was already sent out! I specifically asked a Miss ** to hold the package and yet it was sent out anyway.

I explained to her that I asked to have it held for my personal retrieval, and now it was going to be delivered to my home again, this time with nobody to retrieve the package because my spouse is at work and can't miss more time off and because I am at the courier location to pick up the item. The woman I spoke to in person dismissed me and told me that I should "try to catch the [mail carrier] if I wanted to get my package", implying that I would have to run after a mail truck in my neighborhood right now or come back to the WP Courier Annex to retrieve the package again and miss another day of work! At that point, I asked for a phone number of her manager (of which she refused to give me only until asking her a fourth time), and finally for her name, which she claimed to be "Miss **". She could have been protecting her real identity.

I left the WPCA, another 45 minutes of travel, came home and called Consumer Affairs for USPS, explained the situation again and was put on three-way calling with the WP Courier Annex to find out that the postal worker I had worked with was named "Martha", a.k.a. Miss Martha **. Martha had claimed that someone else in the office "read it wrong" and insisted that the mail carrier for my neighborhood (Wicker Park) was done with their route and in transit to return to the Annex. This would indicate that redelivery was attempted and that another notice was left on my door, or in the mailbox regarding the package. Again, no notice was left and again no indication of an attempted redelivery. The woman at the Annex claimed that the package would be waiting for me (again) this time and that I could pick it up. I told the Customer Affairs rep this information and that I would not be able to retrieve the package for a second time at the Annex location that day due to more lost work hours.

The USPS Customer Affairs rep called the annex again to request redelivery of the item immediately to my door. I waited on the porch of my apartment for the next 10 minutes, and moments later a mail carrier arrived at my door with the package. I had asked him if he was done with his route and was on his way back to his main warehouse. He said that he was far from finished with his route. This shows again that Miss **/ Martha (African American woman in her 40's, 5'4") was going to insist I return to the site only to tell me that the package wasn't going to be at the location again because it is still with the mail carrier and thereby waste my time and money.

My outgoing mail is not getting picked up. I have reported it four times to the USPS customer service number and was given a case number CA102670182. Each time I get a call from the delivery supervisor from the local post office. Every time I get the same excuse. She tells me, "I'm sorry Mr. ** we are having some new people from other routes helping us out and they are not familiar with your route." Sadly though the issue never gets corrected.

Change of address took three weeks to be entered into their system and only after I filed a complaint did the confirmation letters show up! Before filing the first complaint, I spoke with the Cherry Grove section of the North Myrtle Beach, SC USPS. I was informed that they had been sending mail to Florence, SC (next big hub in the system). When I called the 800-ASK-USPS, I was informed they didn't have even one of the ten change of address forms we had turned and entered in the system. About four days later, we received the confirmation letters on the changes of address (four of the ten anyway). We have only received one (1) piece of forwarded mail to date. Then this morning, we received a NetFlix movie addressed to my mother at our previous address. Her name and mine are not the same!

Then I noticed on the forward label that my company name was incorrectly entered into the USPS system. A&T Court Reporting was incorrectly entered as ATT Court Reporting. Then in addition, my better half got a call from his previous employer, who had mailed his paycheck two weeks ago, saying it had been returned to her stamped undeliverable! It had his name, the correct address (no forwarding label required) and it was returned. I have multiple checks due in from attorneys, which I have not received as well. If it was just one small slip-up, I could probably just go on with my life. But this is supposed to be one of the most efficiently run entities in the government (which is saying a lot in this day and time) and so far, nothing has been done correctly on their end.

I've been into complaining about the amount of lost or returned mail 3 times to the post office now since may when I moved into my business address. Mail started not showing up almost right away with the confirmed address and reliable senders. The first confirmation was on June 24 when I received a piece of mail that was sent June 10t! Then in June, I complained with reports of additional mail not showing up. In July I complained again with a priority mail sent from Discovery Bay to San Jose (again confirmed address sent many times) lost and still not shown up (today is August 25) and another priority mail returned to Manteca with the correct address!

Now, we have August where I have confirmed three people send money orders all to the correct address and not received. Last month, the last priority mail cost me over $37 to replace the check!! This month, I have three people who have to file a claim and wait 21 days before they can issue new money order and that's providing there is no problems. Let alone my owner have to wait another 21 days for their rent! This is costing me and my business in a more than horrible economy! What in the blazes is going on?

Such consistent disregard for the consumer. Lines stretching out the door and workers sauntering in and out of the back room. The woman who does passports is consistently late. On August 23rd, she was 40 minutes late and we have no recourse but to stay in line and wait. I have previously waited for the passport woman with 2 young children, first to actually show up and then to amble around getting the line moving.

Supplies are not restocked. Help is not available even when I try to help myself. It is an absolutely disgusting way to run a business. I left absolutely furious after having wasted 55 minutes and then I still needed to drive to the River Forest branch where a helpful woman apologized and had me on my way in 10 minutes.

Over two months ago, almost three to be exact, I shipped a very import package from Los Angeles to the Virgin Islands. This package contained clothing, books, and very important family heirlooms. I shipped the contents to a PO Box. One month later after having not received the package, I contacted USPS. They told me that someone else, someone who does not hold that PO Box was given my package. I have called many times, complained to may different people, even having received a case number and nothing has been done about the situation. It has been over two months and every time I call, they treat the situation as if it is new.

First of all, most of my clothing is now gone. All of my winter belongings and shoes. Pictures I have had my entire life are gone, causing me extreme emotional damage. The contents of the box are too expensive to purchase again, and the sentimental memories I had in that box are impossible to replace.

First of all, David had been looking into this matter for me and done what he could do. My wife had sent a package to my mother in Florida by priority mail. They say it takes 2-3 days to be delivered .and would not let my wife insure the package. Now, it has been 10 days and still no package. We have called the 1-800-222-1811 tracking number and looked on the internet; the package arrived in Orlando on Aug 15th and was processed 15 different times on that day and the same, the next day. The lady that I talked to on the 10th day pretty much told me that there was nothing they could do to help me resolve this and they would forward to the office in Fort Pierce Fl.

We would not have sent the package priority mail if they didn't need it so fast. I have sent other mail regularly and they have received it in the proper time. I paid for service and am very disappointed in the hub in Orlando, Fl. I have called every day to try to find this package with no luck. I call the 800 number and get nothing but a run around; they act like they don't care to even help the customer. Also, the priority sticker was put on my envelope and not in one of the packages. I went to the post office to request that they should at least check the package as their routine job. But the person who mailed my package refused to cooperate and told me that it's not her job to even look around the package. Sent Express Mail on July 24, 2010. The window clerk told me it was guaranteed to be there on Thursday, July 29. Out of curiosity, I asked about the guarantee. He said it was part of some new trade agreement between certain countries that allowed for guarantees on Express Mail to those countries and he joked if it gets there after, I would get a refund. It arrived at its destination on Friday, July 30, 2010, one day after its guarantee. I called the customer service number and the first gentleman I spoke with apologized and said he would send me the proper paperwork. I waited about two weeks and never received the forms, so I called back.

I spoke with a lady and she looked through everything again and told me because it was stuck in customs, that the guarantee did not apply and that I was not entitle to a full refund (or any at all). I went back to the Post Office a couple days later and told the window clerk what happened and he could not believe it. His exact words were, "That's ridiculous. If they are going to say that, then the guarantee is bogus" and that I should contact consumer affairs. I could completely understand if it was an act of god or mother nature, but it is not my fault that the customs department did not do their job properly. A guarantee is just that and there were no conditions mentioned that would nullify the guarantee. I have heard of many complaints about the USPS, but never had that many problems, but this is something I just don't think makes any sense or is fair. And I found some real nice coach and D&G purses for a good deal, so I bought all this stuff for 500$ American. You can't buy this in the states for this cheap. I sent a box with the 4 blankets and 2 purses thru the USPS on post. My WIFE got a piece of the box with the insurance card and inventory sheet. However, this wasn't a box that you could cut open without taking time. It was a military Tuff box, hard plastic box. How does that just break apart, with a lock on it? And my wife gets the paper cardboard. they actually sent just that to her.

So now, I have nothing to give her for our anniversary and the USPS can't find any track of it. Amazing. It got to states. It landed in Atlanta GA. It's gone amazing. How much money do you think the worker will make when he/she sells my stuff I bought my wife? Thank you USPS for serving us who defend America. Risk my life, lose my family time to be over here in Iraq/Kuwait, so you can charge me 60 to send and loose 500$ worth of stuff. I put the insurance at 300 cause. I didn't think I had to worry about my military stuff box being broken apart to get robbed. So thanks again USPS for stealing from the troops you pieces of [garbage]. I was expected a package on 8/19/2010. However, my husband and I watched the mail carrier pass by. Later, when I got online to track my package, there was a message stating: There was delivery attempt at 12.36p.m., but no answer and notice was left. That is a complete lie. Not only she never approached to knock on door or ring doorbell, there was no notice left either. I had to go to post office and pick up package today, 8/20/2010, at which time the staff there seemed to be "annoyed" that I was requesting my package. First, the employee left the window, came back and insisted it wasn't there. Next a manager was called to the window. He too left, came back and said nothing was there for my address. After much insistence from me, finally the manager left and came back again, only this time he had my package.

Another thing. I called yesterday and was told my package was definitely at this office, and that I should call first, before going there. Well tried several times. All I kept getting was, "leave a message", immediately followed by: "sorry, mail box is full". What in the world kind of place of business, a government operated one at that, has the mail box full so that customers cannot even leave a message? And why is it no one was available anyway? Surely when I arrived there, ONE man was at the window, while us customers in line could hear a lot oh hee-hee, and ha-ha coming from the back. In conclusion, I'm not going to just let this go. I filed a complaint: Complaint #CA102818108, and will be following up on it too. IF I don't get any results soon, I'll continue on until I do. So no. I'm not one of those who's going to simply just go away. Something should be done about the "beyond lousy" service.

I filed complaint #CA102822817 today before the mail came. Later, I checked my mail and the mailman did pick up my outgoing mail and leave incoming mail and even shut the mailbox door but, for the first time, he left the flag up. I had to wonder if his supervisor had already contacted him about my complaint.

This led to further thought about the matter, and I remember what seemingly led to the problems. When our carrier changed to him, we started getting other people's mail regularly. For about a year, I just delivered it to my neighbors - even a box that had to go to someone about 2-3 miles away! (Their name and address were not similar in any way, we had to look them up on Google and they were suspicious and then very thankful.)

After that, I refused to deliver anymore mail for him. I simply put the mail back in the box and put the flag up. Shortly thereafter the problems began with, first, leaving the mailbox door open and, next, actually yanking the mailbox door off the mailbox and leaving it on the ground. (The last time, yesterday, there was a new credit card in my mailbox, inviting all to shop on my dime starting with my mailbox.)

I gave all the additional information earlier and won't repeat it all, but I did feel that this additional insight into why might be helpful. I appreciate anything you can do to address this problem so I can go back to not thinking about my mailman.

They stated that the last 2 invoices had been returned as undeliverable as addressed. It's damn strange that the invoices were addressed to PO Box 865 which I pay $116 a year to have some of my mail not delivered. What seems to be the problem? I will be in to see you on the first of the week to discuss the late fees on my policies as well as a letter of apology to my insurance carrier because of your employees error. I have a rural box as well so if it were not such a hassle to change my addresses on my accounts and have or maybe not have my mail delivered I would do so.

It all began 4 years ago when I moved to what's called a somewhat rural area of North Carolina. There are literally thousands of homes on the street where I live but it’s not located within "city limits". Our postal delivery person is a subcontractor who drives her own vehicle and basically delivers the mail when she feels like it. I have received a mailbox full of other people’s mail on numerous occasions. A couple of times I recognized the address as being close to me. Since all I received that day was their mail, I went to give it to them and see if possibly they received a mailbox full of my mail. No such luck!

I have days when I don’t receive anything and other days that I receive dated material that the return date has already passed. If the USPS can’t get the job done they should be fined heavily and be forced legally to assume some responsibility for their incompetence. The first step would be for the federal government to not allow (freeze) any and all increases in postal fees that they request until which time they can prove that they can competently accomplish the job we are paying for now.

My complaint is this. My husband operates a sole proprietorship machine shop, which office, we run out of our house. We have had more problems in receiving his payment checks. Sometimes they come, sometimes they don't. Most recently, we had a check sent Aug.7 from Texas to NC. It was stamped "undeliverable at this address" and sent back to our customer in Texas. We had to PAY $31.77 to have our check FedEx-ed to us so we would be sure that we would get it. We have made our local post office aware more than once that we receive mail at our residence for a family and a business. They just cannot seem to get this right!

I mail my house payment every month, same day. Some months the mortgage company gets it, some months they don't. There is no rhyme or reason to this. This is completely and utterly unacceptable! It is these peoples' jobs to deliver and pick up our mail correctly and on a timely basis! If most of America did their jobs like the USPS does theirs, this would be a terrible place to live!

This is an item that I ordered, paid shipping for and expected to received so basically my money was tossed down the drain and the post office doesn't care one bit. This is why they are hurting financially now. Other companies such as UPS and FedEx provide insurance and confirmation with all packages and are also cheaper. I'm done dealing with the post office.

The day before she was supposed to receive the package, I received a brown envelope from the Jacksonville Bulk Mail Center, FL, containing a claim form and just the top of the box I had sent.

I went to my neighborhood post office, Victorville, CA, and submitted the paperwork to the supervisor there. She told me that there should be no problem. I should receive an answer within two weeks. It has now been almost two months and I keep getting the run-around. I have submitted all the required paperwork at least twice. I now know why people go postal. It's not the postal employees, it's the people they spin around and around to get what they are entitled to. I had $400 worth of insurance on the package. I have had 2 packages and a letter lost within 60 days and that little card they put in your box that "we missed you" when a registered letter is attempted to be delivered is a crock. I have watched the mail carrier, he does not come to your house to deliver it or to find out if anyone there is home or not. I haven't seen him get out of his truck and go to anyone's house except for the packages that do make it to there destination.

Why should I pay for services or something I am not getting? The service has gotten terrible and I have found that private carriers and e-mail is the way to go. It may cost you the same or a little more but you can almost bet you will get your items and it gets to where it needs to go. I am through with using the us mail.

We needed street address for deliveries and the only option was to get permission from neighbors 50 ft away to put mailbox on their frontage. They receive mail as they are on the main road through village. I am the legal owner of 2 family house. We live in 1 apartment and rent the other. My tenant was denied free PO box. The Post Master said they are tenant, not owner and therefore not eligible.

My tenant is disgruntled. The POst master insisted that this is nationwide USPS guideline, and she could not change. She seems to be setting her own rules in her little empire. She believes she is unaccountable to either the public (she is a public servant), or just reasonable common sense. I want delivery to my house, regardless of living on a dead end street (incidentally there is plenty of room to turn around), and I want my tenant to receive the same free PO box that other residents have. As I see it, either they deliver (preferable), or they offer free PO box for all, regardless of ownership status.

I am writing this complaint about the letter carrier in my neighborhood. Since we've moved in (there are 4 of us) our mail carrier has been extremely rude and poor at her job. One of my roommates was sitting in the living room with the door open and the screen closed. As our letter carrier walked up our steps, he heard her grumble "God, these people are so tacky."

We live in a craftsmen home that does not have a mailbox, but instead a slot that says "Mail" off to the left of the door. It seemed trivial at first, but our mail person would fold our mail in half and leave it sticking out of the slot. Not only did this result in damaged mail and folded magazines, but it left our mail outside the house and not secure. We left her a note asking her to "Please push our mail completely through the slot". Again my roommate was sitting in the living room and as she came with our mail, she grumbled, "It doesn't fit!" and left our mail folded in half and hanging out of the slot.

After she left, my roommate walked outside and noted that she stuffed all of our mail (including a couple magazines) into the slot all at once. He also noted that each individual piece of mail fit perfectly through the slot (had she tried to put them in one at a time). In an attempt to make things easier for our letter carrier, we took the basket from inside and placed it outside with a bright colored note that said "for large mail". It was decorated with different colored smiley faces. We still receive our mail folded and hanging out of the mail slot. I don't know why our letter carrier has such hostility toward us. I plan on going to the post office in person and filing a formal complaint. I feel that she is blatantly inconsiderate and I do not trust her with my mail.

For the last two years that I have lived in my house, I have had nothing but problems with the postal service. The postal carrier walks around the neighborhood delivering mail with her shirt half untucked and misbuttoned. When she drives her truck through the neighborhood, she is talking on her cell phone, not paying attention to what she is doing. I have to report netflix movies missing frequently, only to have the DVDs arrive a week later, opened and taped up. On several occasions, I have left mail in the box, with the flag up, only to return home after work to find that my outgoing mail is still in the box with the mail that was delivered that day. On one occasion, I filled out some time sensitive, unemployment documents and left them in the mailbox with the flag up. When I returned home later that night, the mail was still in the box and the flag was still up.

Whenever I call to get some kind of resolution, the person answering the phone states that someone will call me back. I never hear anything back. A little over a week ago, I mailed two items. One was a check for my garbage service, the other was an envelope of pictures. The check went to a different part of the metro area where I live and has not yet been delivered, causing my service to be interrupted. The pictures went to Iowa and I was told by the person who stamped the pictures that they would have been delivered two days ago. Because my postal carrier frequently leaves my outgoing mail in the box, I have had my garbage pick up service interrupted, I was denied unemployment for failing to return the documents requested. The unemployment documents not being picked up caused me several weeks of headaches dealing the unemployment appeals process.

I stepped out onto the porch to see if I could catch him. He continued to walk away. He only came back after completing the entire street and crossing over to the other side. He handed me a pen. I signed the paper. I complained while doing it since this is the third time that he has left something in my box without waiting to see if I am home. Then, I requested my letter. The story begins with my father-in-law needing some of his prescriptions filled. He was unable to do on Wednesday because of a state law that requires an original prescription to be in hand before someone from out of state can have their prescription filled. So, my father-in-law called his pharmacist in Maryland to get the process started. He has his pharmacist overnight the medicines to my apartment with a guaranteed delivery by 3 pm today. 3 pm rolled around and there was no sign of a postal employee. I was about to check the office at my apartment complex before I thought to check my mailbox again. I went to the mailbox and found a slip that states “sorry we've missed you”. How can this be when there has been an adult awake at all times in my apartment? The employee didn't even make an attempt to knock on our door. You can see my apartment from the street! You can even see my apartment from the mailboxes!

I drove my father-in-law to the post office to pick up his package, and here the frustration begins. My father-in-law told the desk clerk he was guaranteed a delivery by 3 pm. The response he got was, “You never waived the signature.” My father-in-law has a right to be ** at this point and started to yell at the clerk. The clerk rolled his eyes and went to the back to see if the package was even here. The clerk came back and simply said it was not there. Before my father-in-law completely flipped someone higher on the food chain, he came up front and told my father-in-law to go check with information.

My father-in-law put his foot down and said, "You go check, you're with the postal service!” Someone even higher up on the food chain heard the yelling and made a call. This person said, “Well the person, the carrier isn't back yet and he didn't know when he would be back.” Everyone who knows me knows it takes an incredible amount to make me lose my temper. I piped in and told this guy, "You better call him and tell him to get back now!” He could clearly see we were both near our boiling points so he asked us to move into a side lobby.

We walked over there and it took a few minutes for a supervisor to slowly walk up to the window. My father-in-law started to tell the supervisor about the situation about how the carrier didn't even try to deliver the package as promised, and how desperately he needed his pain medication. I piped in again and said, “You can see my apartment from the street, and you can see my apartment from the mailboxes! There is no excuse for his (the mail carrier) laziness!” You could tell by the look on the supervisor’s face that he did not care in the least bit. I almost lost it at that point. The supervisor could probably read my body language and said, "We'll see what we can do."

A couple of minutes later, a lady brought the package from the back and asked my father-in-law to sign and print his name on the card we got in the mailbox. My father-in-law was shaking at this point because he was in so much pain. My father-in-law signed his name and gave the card back. This lady asked him, “Sir, can you also print your name?” Prompting this reply from my father-in-law, "Are you kidding me?!” I told my father-in-law to go sit down before he got even more upset. He was shaking with pain because he has been without much needed pain medicines for two days. The postal employees fumbled with this scanning machine for over 5 minutes trying to get it work.

My father-in-law shouted, “Can I have my medicine now?” He also included a few colorful words which I will exclude. The supervisor told my father-in-law he "understood" why he was upset and he needed to stop cussing. My father-in-law managed to keep quiet after the woefully pitiful attempt to calm him down. The manager finally handed me the package with a look of contempt on his face. I bet he was thinking, "Who are these people who have the audacity to demand that I do my job?”

This is the good enough for government work attitude that I get increasingly sick and tired of! They can blame congress all they want, but it’s no wonder they continue to go billions deeper into debt. My father-in-law sat there shaking in pain, and the postal employees could clearly see his pain. They couldn't care less and took their sweet time fumbling with this scanning device. My father-in-law was on the verge of tears. He was hurt so badly. He would never admit this to me, but I could tell he felt humiliated looking like he did in front of me.

I have been told that letters of acceptance or letters scheduling me for further testing with these police departments have been returned to their office. Applications for school that have been sent out to my home never arrived. The point is, when I miss these responses from possible employment, because of the work field i'm applying to, I will have to wait an entire year before I can reapply. The Cook county sheriff merit board, the most important job prospect to me, has been attempting to contact me via mail and the letters they have sent to my home never arrived. Letters from the Department of Veteran’s Affairs never arrived to update me on my disability claim.

I'm having a very serious issue with mail delivery to my address. I've spoken to the mail carrier, her supervisor and even a Rep from Congressman Bobby **'s office! But I still have to "chase down" the carrier to retrieve my mail!

Here's an example: Sat, July 21, I saw the carrier pass by my house. I ran down to my gate to ask if there was mail for my address, she turned and replied, "YUP"! The mail carrier had mail for my address but walk right pass my house as if it wasn't even there! It was not dark outside. About 1:00pm, there was no snow/ice on my walkway, no pets and the gate was wide open but she walked right by my property, not even slowing down! I do not know why this carrier insist on not delivering my mail to my house and would like to have this problem rectified once and for all. I've missed important letters, bills, checks, etc., due to this problem. She's even left my mail wrapped in a rubber band in the spokes of my gate, so I come home to my mail spewed out all over the sidewalk by the neighborhood kids! I do have a mailbox affixed to my home but the carrier refuses to walk to the house to put the mail inside the box! Why?

This has been happening for a while now. I've lived here for 3 years and have had more problems with mail delivery at this address than I ever had over the 12 years I resided at my former address in Hyde Park. Any assistance with this matter would greatly be appreciated. I just want to receive my mail. Isn't that some sort of law? Thank you.

A direct complaint to USPS actually has been made (see it below) but resulted in a letter stating their clear intention to continue business as usual, evidenced by the fact that the same mailman unlocked the swimming pool gate with his key again yesterday (Saturday) but left it open, which risks the lives of children who might enter and drown, and is a violation of local law. As he passed me on his way out he belched loudly. Here is what I am saying in greater detail (the complaint recently submitted directly to USPS online):

On June 11, 2010 hold mail was requested by me to end June 16, 2010, and I arranged to be at home all day on June 16, 2010 to receive the volume of mail expected to exceed the capacity of my mailbox. The day before, when I returned home from travel, staff in the apartment complex office knew I had been gone because the mail carrier had told them of the hold mail. On June 16, 2010 at about 1:45 p.m. as I left my apartment I saw the regular mail carrier for my address driving away from the mail box cluster where my mailbox is located but when I opened it there was no mail at all.

The mail carrier was at the next cluster and when I walked to that one and asked him where my hold mail was he reached to his left without needing to look, picked up a folded 8 X 11 printed sheet, removed 4 pieces of mail from the fold, and handed it to me. He kept the sheet of paper and didn't mention my hold mail but when I did he said "You got a lot of mail!" His tone of voice, facial expression, and body language conveyed annoyance and resentment.

I replied that I stayed home to receive all that mail and asked him why he didn't bring it but he refused to answer. About 15 minutes later I was at the recreation center of the apartment complex when I saw the same mail carrier with a large quantity of mail under his arm open the locked swimming pool gate with a key attached to a chain with all of his other keys, then unlock the recreation room door with that key and enter. There was no one in the room and it is not the address for any postal customer. He emerged several minutes later and left the way he came in, again with his own key unlocking the pool gate to exit. The key is not needed to access any mailbox on the property or to access the path to any mailbox, including the apartment manager office.

This complaint, for which there photographic evidence of the mail carrier at the recreation center with a large quantity of mail, seeks an end to willful misconduct by this USPS employee who: Violated postal rules by knowingly and deliberately failing to deliver hold mail after the hold ended. He knew all about the volume of mail which had accumulated and there were no events or conditions preventing delivery of the mail. Violated postal rules by knowingly and deliberately confiscating mail in his possession in the USPS vehicle instead of delivering it to my mailbox, handing it over to me in person only after I asked for it. Again, there were no events or conditions preventing delivery of the mail.

Violated postal rules by requesting and keeping under color of authority as a mail carrier a key to access private property which is not the home or business address of a postal customer. Violated postal rules by carrying mail into a building which is not the home or business address of a postal customer. Violated postal rules by telling an unauthorized third party when my mail was on hold, a violation of the federal Privacy Act. "The value of the swimming pool as one of the amenities which I used to enjoy by paying rent for the apartment where it is located has been severely diminished because of the mailman whose very presence there is distressing.

The week after the events described above, in which the mail carrier saw me photographing him engaged in misconduct, the same mail carrier entered the gated and locked areas again and used his camera to photograph me seated next to the pool, accompanied by his verbal taunts. Clearly, one reason FedEx and United Parcel Service are beating USPS is that they don't coddle employees who engage in such sociopathic frolics. The water meter reader doesn't roam about the gated and locked swimming pool and recreation room. Neither do United Parcel Service or FedEx drivers. Millions of employees all over the planet do their jobs every day without disturbing their customers at their homes in order to perform their bodily functions.

The Local Duty Inspector in Tucson, Arizona has received my complaint about this mail carrier misconduct but after several weeks the U.S. Postal Inspection Service division in Phoenix has done nothing but write an initial letter stating that I "...will only be contacted if additional information is needed", plus a final letter stating that it is imperative for the mailman to use the recreation center, and falsely claiming that he needs a key to that area in order to deliver mail to the office. First of all, there are no doors or gates hindering public access to the office door from outside the property. Second, there is a mail slot in the wall next to the office door, as well as a locked large parcel mailbox exterior to and a couple of feet from the office.

Recognize that this mailman is fabricating reasons to justify the superfluous fringe benefit of having his own key to the swimming pool because he has an obsessive ulterior motive. He is clinging tenaciously to ongoing opportunities to ogle girls and women in swimsuits, a fetish he can indulge in almost every month of the year here in the Sonoran desert. This is even more alarming given his documented history of bringing his camera to the pool and photographing people there. The value of the swimming pool as one of the amenities which I used to enjoy by paying rent for the apartment where it is located has been severely diminished because of the mailman whose very presence there is distressing.

I live in a rural community in Kansas where I get mail delivery from a rural carrier. I recently received a letter from the postmaster of Eudora, Ks. advising me that if I did not contain my dog I would cease to receive my mail. I'll admit, my dog does not like strangers, and has bitten an uninvited stranger who trespassed on my property. I have a "No trespassing, beware of Dog" sign at the end of my driveway. My mailbox is mounted on a pole along the roadside, following the specific measurements and location set forth by the USPS. The carrier is not required to exit his vehicle to make delivery and when the carrier pulls up to delivery my mail, his vehicle window is approximately ten inches from the mailbox door. My dog, a 30 pound Brittney Spaniel, is not able to jump up and bite the carrier thru his mini-van window.

When I stated this in a conversation to the Eudora Post Master, her reply was "they can do it". She suggested moving my mailbox to someone else's property, That's ludicrous! I have had conversations with the carrier in the past where I instructed him to never exit his vehicle to leave packages and to just leave me a notice and I will come to the post office to retrieve it, but still he will pull up to my house and make his attempt. I've even seen him mace my dog through the window of his vehicle, which is fine with me but unnecessary if he would just honor my request to not put himself in harms way. I believe I have done all that is required by me.

My animal does not leave my property and only goes to the roadside. My question is, what are the the laws governing the USPS concerning delivery if you are following the mailbox placement guidelines? What are my options besides cowering down? I believe I've done whats necessary to keep the carrier safe just short of keeping my animal penned up at all times. That's why I moved to the country. I am a Deputy Sheriff in this county. I am expected to exit the safety of my patrol vehicle at all times regardless of the hazards, which they are not. So, needless to say, I lack sympathy. Thank you for your time.

I am complaining on behalf of my mother who lives in another state (WV). The rural carrier will not deliver her mail if she puts a mailbox up near her driveway because she said it is too close to a curve. She insists on delivering her mail about 40 yards down the road at another driveway at a vacant lot. My mother is 87 years old and is almost deaf and cannot hear cars. She has to walk down the road to get her mail. I have asked the postmaster to show me where to put a new box and he said it is up to the carrier.

When I asked the carrier to show me, she said the postmaster needed to come out and show me. Thus far, we cannot get anyone to come out to her residence. All of the suggestions that I made to the carrier were met with "I don't think I can do it that way". So is there no resource except for my elderly mother to keep walking down the road to get her mail? It is very treacherous in the winter with the snow and ice. Nothing has been done thus far. I cannot get anyone out here to show me where to put up a box and they told her the present mailbox needs to be upgraded. I will not put a new box up 40 yards down the road because the mail delivery person doesn't want to stop there. I think they are supposed to have lights on their cars to get the attention of other drivers but this delivery person has none.

My husband has contacted the magazine companies to inform them and they have re-sended and in some cases, we still have not received them. We have both contacted by both telephone and e-mail the local post office (many times) and they just tell us that they will monitor our mail.

This has been going on for almost a year now. Who should we contact now? Playboy claims that they have received some of the issues back and they have been marked "undeliverable". We receive all of our other mail just fine. We have lived at this address since the house has been built (for 9 years). I live out in the county. One day several weeks ago, someone ran their car into my mailbox. We rent this property here and as soon as we noticed the mailbox on the ground, we picked it up and set it back the best we could. It was and is still usable. The mail carrier left a note saying that my mail was being held because the mail carrier was not able to open the mailbox up. I went to the Snelling Office and spoke with Maribell. My previous encounters with her had not been the greatest. She is an exceptionally rude person, to everyone! I asked Maribell what the letter on my mailbox meant? She told me that I had a few days to fix the mailbox or she would send all my mail back to the senders. I found this hard to understand when my box had been fixed. I asked her where my mail was presently. I didn't have mail for about a week. Maribell had taken it upon herself without any notice to me to hold my mail there at the Post Office.

My box had fixed and she was holding-back my mail without my knowledge. I then told her that I am disabled and when I live in other towns by Doctor's note, the mail-carrier brought my mail directly to me, as I am unable to walk most of the time. I told Maribell that I had a doctor's note that states that my walking is limited and if the P.O. could work in helping me retrieve my mail to my door. Maribell told me that she would never do such thing even with a doctor’s note. Can she ignore my Doctor's note? I have called the P.O. 800 numbers and they are just as rude, if not ruder than her. So my question is this, what does a disabled person do with a doctor’s note not being able to walk and the Post Office will not accept these doctor’s note?

Sharon says he is the nice one, she is the not nice one" Jeff: “well she was having trouble with her mail so I helped her by holding for a few days" Annette: "well that will end tomorrow" I was next in line, I knew they were talking about me, my husband and our mail carrier Sharon. Annette waived me over as I was next in line. I stated yew, I was here to get my mail stated my address, advised I knew she had been talking about me loud enough for me to hear. She had quite the look of shock on her face when I mentioned my address. She hastily retrieved my mail.

I asked for the manager she was it. I advised her that what I overheard was un-necessary, here say and unacceptable to be discussing gossip about a client in the lobby of the post office where everyone could overhear including myself. She agreed with my statement and apologized. I then stated I wanted to have my box re-keyed now, as I am still having problems with my mail delivery as my husband has the key and will take my mail as he has done in the past. She told me that would be $30 and referred me over to Jeff. Jeff helped me with the key change, confirmed what I overheard was a conversation about me and my problem apologized and advised me that the mail delivery would resume.

I thanked him for the help. Told him I was very upset at overhearing their conversation so openly discussed in the lobby full of customers. I asked him to provide Annette's full name, her manager’s name. I fully intend to proceed to complain to the postmaster on Monday. I also fear my spouse will have all mail forwarded so I now need to get a PO Box. It is extremely disheartening that this occurs in a federal building no less in front of customers. Gossip, here say and insulting words coming from someone who knows nothing about you or your situation, talking about someone that just happens to be standing in line. Was that luck or misfortune I am not sure. Regardless, I am disgusted.

Our longtime carrier of 20 years, Tommy **, was the kindest, most courteous and friendly man, and bent over backwards. If he saw a problem, he was kind enough to let you know to correct it before taking any kind of action and was never rude about it. He has retired six months ago and it has been hell ever since. The USPS should be completely shut down and restarted with new, properly sensitivity-trained, positive employees. They've been repeatedly skipping houses and refusing to deliver due to occasional or unpreventable blockage to the street mailbox (i.e. lawn service, other deliveries, lack of parking space, etc. ). It is a very tight cul de sac with limited to no parking in the street without blocking a mailbox or fire hydrant.

We live in SW Arlington in a small, six-house cul de sac. I just turned 50 and have been disabled for years with a progressive neuromuscular disease. I am a lifetime Arlington resident. Funny, they still walk the mail in central Arlington, but claim our area to be a rural route and "they don't have to get out of their truck if they choose not to"!

Funny, I thought we lived in the middle of Arlington, too, but they call it a rural route to get around the standard. Our cul de sac is tight, so there is very little room for any cars parking in front of homes, and mind you, this is a nice neighborhood by Martin High School. Our yard is pie-shaped, as two other neighbors' are (easily viewed on Google Earth). Therefore, basically in the front, there is only a driveway that is maybe 10 feet, the mailbox, maybe 12 to 15 inches, and then the next driveway. In my case, there is also a fire hydrant 10 feet from mailbox.

I have literally measured my housekeeper parking in front of the fire hydrant (illegal number 1) and she has been more than 10 feet from the mailbox rule, and the carrier will still skip our house. I had a new bathroom remodeled two months ago, and had a construction truck/trailer in front (nowhere else to park), and she skipped for several days with no warning, no courtesy - she just drove on by. I chased her down one time when I saw her.

I just had major back surgery last week, waiting on equipment, other deliveries, and particularly, medicine. We were skipped again because my husband's truck battery went dead when he pulled out of the drive and had to take my car to get me from the hospital. Not to mention delivery of durable medical equipment. Yesterday was the last straw: the FedEx truck and Schwan's arrived at my house at the exact time, parked right in front, of course. There was no mail, and I was expecting medicine. They are running two routes, apparently, which is not my problem.

When it first started and I didn't know what was going on, and was concerned over my mail, I called the Melear Station in Arlington to speak to the director (postmaster?). When I spoke to Betsy (who was just transferred here from New York), I told her my address, and she immediately went into a hateful, mean tone and was downright rude and ugly to me, telling me they can do what they want. I explained how respectful we are but "things happen," and also tried to explain the layout of our cul de sac.

She said, "Too bad - not our problem." Then when I asked why she was being so rude and not helpful, she stated "I don't have time to sit here and tell you all the USPS rules and regulations." She also told me they don't have to be corteous and provide any type of notice of problems. I ended telling her that they had no customer service. She was rude and the carrier was just downright lazy!

I am going to put a sign in my yard for my neighbors to see. However, several are having the same problems, and I have a call to Saul ** and Becky ** to get this brought out into the open. I've experienced undue stress, lack of receiving medicines on time, discourtesy, the insecurity of whether or not I will even get my mail, receive wrong mail, or have my neighbors receive my mail. They have no human courtesy or customer service. They're lazy, rude, and just make it clear that they don't care what you think.

The Bank request that I get a receipt from Post Office when I drop-off the Certified Letters. After normal business hours, I must deliver the letters to the former GPO Bldg located between 32nd & 33rd Sts on Ninth Ave in NYC. I ask the Clerk for printed receipt for the Certified Letters. The Clerk refuses to scan the letters and issued a receipt stating that they are not required give me a receipt for metered mail. Then, the Clerk leaves the window to bring their supervisor over. The supervisor gives me the same sorry excuse about not being required to issue me the receipt that the Banking institution needs for their records.

Postal Workers are civil servants and should do everything possible to provide the best possible service to their customers. Denial of said receipt presents a serious problem for the Bank since many of these letters contain payments of taxes. They need an actual receipt containing the Date and Time the letter was posted, as proof Tax payment remittance. I am sick and tired of being denied the services I am entitled to as Postal Service customer.

If I were to to walk with unstamped certified letters, the Clerk would scan the Certified Letter Receipt and printout the metered postage and issue me a receipt. Here's what I don't understand, the Bank attaches the metered postage with full postage due with fees & attached receipts. They've already done most of the work. I believe the Postal Service are required to provide the customer w/ a scan and issuance of a printed receipt of the transaction.

Around the week of July 6, I filed a complaint with my local post office about a piece of mail my brother had sent my daughter around the week of June 14 containing a birthday card and check. Knowing my brother would not miss his niece's birthday, we assumed the piece had been lost or stolen and I complained about mail delivery to the post office. Over the past eleven years, we have had repeated problems with misdelivery or non-delivery and these complaints are on file. We continue to randomly get mail for another address and have random pieces of our mail missing.

My first complaint in July went unanswered so I logged a second complaint when members of my daughter's soccer team said they had mailed me checks for team fees and I had not received them. At this point, I got a call back "voicemail" and the supervisor, Crystal, dismissed the problem stating they had a piece of mail from my brother and he'd obviously not mailed it at the time he claimed. (FYI, to date, I have still not received two mailed checks from those team parents!)

The item the supervisor referenced was not the original piece of mail. It was an invitation to his daughter's first birthday party. When I received that piece of mail, there was a form stapled to it stating the case was closed and dismissing it as an error on my brother's part not the postal service. Again, this was not the original piece of mail I'd complained about. I contacted the supervisor again and logged the complaint again. At this time, I also stated my irritation that the USPS was so quick to dismiss any consumer complaint as user error and not take responsibility for any mistakes the USPS was making. I was assured the problems would be corrected.

On July 27, I received a piece of mail from my brother with a post it note on it with a hand written note. On that note, there was a Bible listing and a very snippy comment about how this was my brother's mistake not the post office's. In addition, there was a highlighted area where whomever wrote it used my daughter's name and called my brother her "silly uncle". I was taken aback by the familiarity of this tone and even more surprised when I opened the piece of sealed mail to find those exact words written in my sister in law's handwriting. Obviously whoever wrote that note at the post office had either opened or read my mail to have quoted it and highlighted the quote. The exact quote is as follows and a copy is enclosed:

"FRONT: Matthew 5: 43-48 Incompetent? Really! Katie--your silly uncle did this. It just came back! Like I said, it wasn't on our end, it was on your end! BACK Situation / case # --Resolved!"

I went to the local post office file a complaint and spoke with another supervisor, Nadia ***. I was told she'd look into it. I did not hear back so I called the post office and spoke with Mr. ***, the general manager and he said he'd conduct a 'thorough' investigation and call me back. He called back less than an hour later and said no one in their facility did this and suggested it was vandals or a neighbor. There is no way anyone but someone at the post office would have done this because it specifically references my complaint and directly quoted something that was inside the sealed envelope sent to me. The general manager at the PO has closed this case and basically told me to call the police, which I did but it's out of their jurisdiction. They'd just refer it back to the PO.

The note mentioned my daughter by name which alarms me and the Bible reference is about being someone's 'enemy' which I take as a direct threat against my safety and that of my family. No physical damage but we are worried for our safety based on the bible reference that whomever wrote this note considers me an 'enemy.'

Meaning, we often get no mail at all (and then an abundance the next day), mail delivery after 5 pm (up to 2 nights a week), incorrect mail delivered to our address (and not receive ours at all), and when a package was delivered by our mail carrier, he/she left it on our stairs in plain sight of street traffic, rather than taking it up the full flight of stairs and leaving it at our door.

I have called 4 times to plead with Mr. ** at our Richmond mail facility, but get nowhere. I find the office to be less then concerned with accurate and safe delivery of mail and packages. I had called the office to again report post-5 pm delivery and was told that my concern was "incidental" to their bigger issue of having someone on leave of absence. After providing all of the requested information, I was sent a check for less than 20% of the insured value with no explanation other than a statement that an internet search supported the final value. No where during the process was I given an apology for the loss of my item. I have now filed an appeal but I do not expect much satisfaction. The attitude I have encountered is that the Autria *** will set the value and there is not much you can do about it.

I live in a very small cul de sac with very limited parking. Often my daughter or a day worker will park their car in front of the mail box. Fifty percent of the time, the mail carrier will just skip my mail box if a car is parked in front of the mail box. The carrier would have to walk a whole five yards to complete their task. Like I said, half the time it is a work truck or one of the neighbors. Why am I being penalized? I have seen the mail carriers and I think it might do them some good to get off their rears from time to time. Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow but lord forbid someone parks a Honda Civic in front of your mailbox.

Attached is the letter we wrote to USPS after receiving notification that mailbox is not in approved location.

July 19, 2010. We are responding in regards to notice received 7/16/10 about our mailbox not being in an approved location. Prior to placing mailbox in its current location. We went to the USPS website www.***.com/***.htm to review standards necessary to place mailbox on our property. These are the guidelines we followed. We placed our mailbox 45 inches high on the right side of the road. The box sits 7 inches from the road, and was placed at the farthest northern point of our property.

"The numbers on the box are 2 inches tall and were placed on both sides of the mailbox. The carrier does not need to leave vehicle and is at no time a traffic hazard. The notice received said our mailbox needs to be moved approximately 100 feet north next to our neighbors mailbox. Essentially we are being asked to move our mailbox off of our property and place it onto our neighbor's neighbor's property (yes, the place we are being asked to place our box is not on our neighbor's property, it is on their neighbor's property).

"We are asking the USPS to site the specific guideline we are violating. If the issue is really a matter of convenience for the carrier and not that it is not in an approved location, we would be happy to move it, however the USPS will need to cover the cost of the labor and materials to do so, and obtain written consent from the property owner to place the box on their property. We also ask that there not be any interruption of mail delivery to our home until this matter is resolved." Our mail is no longer being delivered to our home.

I have an ongoing problem of continuous late mail. I called my local post office at 1485 Howard Rd, Rochester, NY 14624-9998. I spoke with a Vince there but to no avail. I felt he was somewhat flippant with me and he stated that there is no set times for mail delivery. He went as far as to say it would be okay if it came as late as 7:00 pm. This guy Vince should not be answering the phone. He also suggested that I might get a P.O Box that would cost me $30.00 every 6 months and a lot of the people I get mail from won't deliver to a PO box. I told Vince I had spoke with customer service. Vince says that they don't really know what they're talking about because they're sub-contracted and that they don't work for the post office.

When I spoke with the customer service people, I specifically requested numerous times to speak to the postmaster in my area. What ended up happening is Vince calls me from the Westgate office, the same Vince but his attitude has changed. I spoke with customer service again and explained how I had requested to speak with the postmaster numerous times on my previous call. At this time, they suggested that I contact consumer affairs and assigned a case number for this (**). I told them I didn't have long distance, and they were going to have consumer affairs call me. They eventually called me, but basically told me the same story so I have no solution to an ongoing late mail. My complaint is the fact that my mail comes late every day and this person Vince at the Westgate office seems to think its okay.

On May 2, 2010, my son's estranged father passed away. I had heard through the grapevine from people who attended the ceremony that his employer offered some type of Life Insurance. I emailed his employer, thinking perhaps he might have named his two children as beneficiary (as I would). His employer's rep emailed me back and was not very nice (all caps) and gave me the name of the insurance company, but I was still uncertain how to contact them. About this time in mid-May, I was not receiving mail and made a complaint to USPS. I had a different insurance claim going on and was waiting for a check in the mail and did not receive it. I called my insurance company and they said I should have received it within 2 days because it was issued from the local insurance office.

After several calls to USPS, it was determined that my mail was put on hold. I went and picked up my mail and found my mail was put on hold with a forged signature. I was told to contact the local law enforcement. About the same time, a different co-worker from my ex's employment contacted me via email and gave me a name of an insurance rep that handles the life insurance where he worked. I contacted them and found perhaps, I was originally named as beneficiary and a life insurance change form was submitted naming another as beneficiary after his death! I placed a claim and there will be a court date. Then I remembered from past conversations with acquaintances of his father's fiancee's family that her mother was believed to be an employee of our local postal branch. Coincidence?

Will the court date be served by mail or a court appointed process server? Am I getting all my mail? It seems to me the circumstances of the mail hold might have benefited some person(s) wanting a financial gain. Not only my address was changed, but that of my sons. I even went and put in a postal change form to a PO Box and supposedly, that change form was lost but then submitted about 2 weeks after it was submitted. I contacted the USPS inspector and to this date, I have no reply. I think USPS humored me to cover up their lack of following policy, the address change form was not even filled out by a receiving postal worker. I am very angry and still not sure if I am getting all my mail!

Post office is refusing to deliver mail to house because they are telling me that I need a curbside mailbox. I have a mailbox that is built into the house and they delivered mail to house mail box the first week we moved in and have since stopped. I told them that I wanted mail delivered to house mailbox and that I do not want to put a curbside box in as I purchased the home with the mailbox on house. They have delivered mail to this house for over 50 years using the box built into the house. I have several neighbors that are still getting mail delivered to there house mailbox and they are new residents as well. I know they cannot hold my mail unless I don't have an established mailbox, which again I do have a box which is built into the home.

We just moved here about two months ago and they are telling me that all new residents need a box out in the street. They can only ask me to put the box on the street and if I ask for mail to continue to be deliver to the house they are suppose to honor this. I have several friends that work in the post office and all of them are telling me they can't hold my mail like there doing, unless I don't have a mailbox.

The supervisors at the Rialto Post Office are just giving me different excuses and bullying me into putting it on the street. My wife and I purchased the home knowing that we had a mailbox built into the house. The fact that they are holding my mail because I don't have a curbside box and that there are several of my neighbors (I have counted at least 12) that have there mail delivered to house is not right. All but two of my neighbors are not original owners and have moved in within the last few years.

I sell on eBay and I use the post office to mail my items and I have been doing this for years. I always use priority mail with delivery confirmation and insurance and in the past 15 years of mailing, I have never had to file a claim.

Well, in May, I sent a package to my regular customer and when he received the package, the items were missing and had been replaced with 23 copies of the change of address forms and when he contacted me, he told me this and told me that the package also had USPS Priority Postal tape on the box as this seemed funny to me as I closed my boxes with clear tape and the only people that can get USPS priority tape are the workers!

He contacted the post office and they stated to file a claim so when I contact the post office, they said that a claim needs to be filed by the sender and that I should have the original mailing box along with the form ps-1000. I filed online the ps-1000 while I was waiting for the box back from my customer and when I received the box, I took it to the post office where I mailed the box and had them inspect the box, fill out the ps-2856, and let the postal employee check my documents. They suggested mailing all of the documents along with the original shipping box so that they will have it in St. Louis, so I did and I used USPS priority mailing envelope with a delivery confirmation slip and it arrived in two days. When I checked online to see what had happened in 4 to 5days, they stated that they never received the envelope even after I told them the delivery confirmation number, so they closed the claim.

I mailed another set of documents and they said that they never received the form ps-2856 that I mailed, so I had the postal employees send a copy and I sent another copy. They still said that they never received even now that I mailed it with a delivery confirmation to the address they provided.

I looked online and found a telephone number and an email address, so I called the number and it was just a general help desk number and they said that they would pass along this to somebody but I didn't get any answer. I sent an email and in a few days, I received an answer saying that they passed my information along to the proper person and I didn't get and answer, so I sent another and I received a short email from a Ms. Thereas ** saying, no ps-2856 form received. That was it. So, I sent another email with full details. Now, I actually had a person to write to along with delivery confirmation numbers, priority mailing postal receipts and in the message, I asked for a fax number so I can fax over the documents she requested. I faxed over the documents and confirmed that she received and she stated that was all they were waiting for and now they approved the claim and will pay the claim.

I looked online the next day and found out that they reopened the case, approved the claim and that next day, they cut a check (Friday) so I was happy that they finally helped me but when Monday came along, I looked online to see what was going on and the online site at www.usps.com claims part said that the item was denied, claim closed and a letter was mailed.

To this day, I haven't received the letter. I called them and while they admit they have the documents, box and originally agree to the claim they stated that they changed their minds because I didn't take the shipping box to the post office at destination and let them see the box as they have first say in seeing the box. As I have learned, they pay less than 30% of their claims as the postal employees in the Claims Department get paid bonuses based on how much money they save on claims.

I am at a loss for words and I no longer use the post office for anything. Something should be done. As I see, I am not the only one to get ripped off! I am sure that they are laughing about this and every case they deny. I hope they know that this affects everybody including their jobs as this might be why their company is losing money as people start to use other sources to mail their items. So I never want to hear another postal employee say, "they are cutting our hours, cutting our pay, closing offices, cutting our benefits, cutting our retirement," I hope it happens to all of the postal employees that deserve it but not the ones that don't.

This has resulted in me no longer selling anything online. $25,000.00 a year on sales down the drain. I lost $2,250.00 on this item plus another $100.00 for the shipping, telephone, faxes and copies supplied. It is now hard for me to trust any mailing companies. I have paid thousands of dollars over the years in insurance fees at the post office thinking that I was covered, but now I know it was just a scam.

On July 6th, I spoke with Mike on the phone asking about the package that was addressed to my old address, where we wished it to be sent. He told me that July 3rd was marked by the carrier as undeliverable. I continued asking questions to see why it was undeliverable, and he let out loud sighs as if I was a bother. He sounded like he did not want to deal with my pleas of receiving my package.

I called the same Crossroads Post Office in Bellevue, Washington, the following day and spoke with a different supervisor -- a woman with an accent whose long name began with a P. She explained to me that Mike is known by many to come across as rude, but she says she believes he's a nice guy. P then offered to help me with the package that I was expecting. She looked up the tracking number ** and told me that their regular carrier, Ray, was on vacation when it was delivered. The package was in the hands of his fill-in carrier.

She said that the fill-in marked the package as undeliverable, but couldn't understand why. She said she'd find out if the fill-in carrier had erroneously marked it as undeliverable. (Side note: we had moved to a new address, but our request for a change of address to USPS was not in effect until July 4th according to Mike and P, so it should have arrived at our old address).

The package ended up arriving at our new home, where we didn't want it to arrive. Our wish was for it to be sent to our old house. Instead, it arrived at our new address on July 9th. Because the package had been sent to our new address, USPS made us pay the extra postage. We paid the extra $18.15 to receive a package that already had postage and was insured by the sender.

Today is July 18, 2010, which will mark the 8th package USPS has lost but I've finally found a solution but I will need the help of the eBay Community.

This is a copy of the complaint I filed today:

"The problem is I shipped over 10 packages every week from my online store and I'm starting to notice that none of my packages are scanned received at the local Post Office (20784) that I drop them off at. Customers are starting to complain about not receiving their items and a big deal of my business relies on delivery. The following two tracking numbers are two international orders placed in June of 2010. USPS Priority Mail is suppose to update you with tracking information from the time the label is printed up until the time the package is delivered.

There is no updated tracking information on the items but I have confirmed delivery with the customers. I dropped them off at my regular Post Office which I'm at 5 to 6 days out of the week and once again there's no tracking information. Something needs to be done. I've been shipping with USPS for over six years now and this is not the first time its happened. The levels of QA are definitely not being met. I ship Priority Mail, International and Domestic and the service that I pay for I am not receiving and it's starting cost me money.

People, it is my conclusion that the Post Office does not scan packages upon receipt from the shipper at the Post Office. Please check your past International orders and see how many of them say the U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on mo/day/year to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. No further information is available for this item and you've already received feedback, showing the customer received item.

If so can you please comment and complain to your local Post Office and their Online Support Center. My solution right now would be schedule the "courier pick-up." I don't like this solution because I have to wait for the courier and I never know what time they're coming but I do know they scan the packages during pick up and I can have them sign a manifest stating they received these items.

If not, people, you will get burned. Let's say you live in Canada and you ordered something from the U.S. 14 days later, you receive the item but for some reason you decide to go online and check the tracking for your item and you noticed all it says the U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on mo/day/year to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. No further information is available for this item. No information about "Customs", or it being received at a local "sort facility", or that it is "out for delivery". What would it take for the consumer to call it's credit card or bank and state 'I purchased an item, I didn't receive it, and I would like a refund."

She receives a lot of mail every day with magazines, etc. After the first week, she went by to pick up all the mail that was held. She explained her situation and the people that helped her were very helpful and thoughtful.

The following week, I went with her to pick up the mail. We still don't have a place for her and she is staying at the Embassy Suites. After a few minutes, Danny ** came to help us. We asked for her mail. He left, and came back almost to the door at one point with a little handful of mail and then turned around. After another 4 to 5 minutes, he finally came back and handed us the mail. We explained the situation and asked that it continues to be held until we find a forwarding address. I think he said, 4-5 times, "A vacation hold is only for vacation." He would remove the hold and the mail would be delivered to the burnt up house. He came across to my mom and me as very rude and extremely unhelpful and I was shocked when I asked to speak to a supervisor to have him tell me he was the manager.

My mother has only very pleasant relationships with her mailman and other employees of the Postal Service over her years in Lafayette. It's too bad that the management team cannot develop those same relationships with their customers. Maybe he needs a customer service in service.

Well, I then told her that it was merely a question and that she need not speak to me in the demeaning manner in which she was speaking to me and I then walked out so as not to turn this into a match of wits because that is the way that she spoke to me. Now I have to wait four more days for my mother's check and that means I still cannot get my mother's medications or the personal items I need to keep her in her everyday manner, such as undergarments. You see, my mother has had three heart attacks and a stroke. She is also a severe diabetic and one of the prescriptions I have been waiting to pay for is her Insulin! So you see, these kinds of games that Mrs. *** is playing could have circumstances that she does not understand the repercussions of. I recycled a priority mail cardboard box that had come to me by wrapping up a book to send to someone else. I was charged $3.16 to send it. The next day it came back to me postage due of $5.84. So I spent $9.00 to not have the book sent. The reason cited was it has to go priority mail if it is in a priority mail box (even if the box is turned inside out). It does not say any such thing on the box anywhere.

So much for USPS being socially responsible enough to allow recycling of their packaging. Better it goes to help fill up the landfills? Not cool! Another lost customer. More gain by UPS.

A relative recently sent five packages with breakable items in them. Out of the five packages only two boxes had no damage (and those two were priority mail flat rate boxes). The three brown boxes had nothing but broken pieces of glass, porcelain, etc. in them. They seemed to be packaged well. They even had 'fragile' all over them. I think because insurance was not purchased they didn't care and threw them around. If it had only been minor damage I wouldn't have thought anything about it. It was ridiculous just how much damage there was. I'm mainly upset because these were plates, etc, of relatives that had passed away last year. That's what upsets me the most. If these people handling packages don't care about doing their jobs right, get rid of them!

We use double window envelopes to mail out checks to vendors. The return address is the address on the check which shows through the upper window. Recently, I received a notice from the Atlanta Mail Recovery Center that a envelope I had mailed out was undeliverable or damaged and was therefore destroyed. Along with the letter was a perfectly preserved photocopy of the undamaged check.

Since the check was obviously not damaged and the return address was on the check, I called my local post office to ask why the check was not simply returned to me. I was told that the USPS policy is to destroy any damaged envelope and its contents. Does anyone have any sense at USPS? What is the purpose of a return address if not to return it to the sender if there is a problem?

I live in a manufactured home park that once had a mail drop, due to a conflict of interest with the management. The job of distributing the mail was then removed to another location in the park, with pigeon-hole lockbox for a postal person to distribute the mail. The Post Office manager from the Northeast Station was not happy to do the extra work of assigning a carrier to allocate mail in the mailroom at the park. Before, all they had to do was drop off a bag, but now it's who is going to get stuck with actually handling the job the right way.

Now for the problem, we don't get our mail or get the wrong mail all the time and it is even worse when the regular mail person is on vacation. After many complaints, they agreed to have two people deliver for quality control but that did not last for long and we were back to the same old. My solution would be to make this a house to house delivery area like out in the real world, then they could think of the good old days when they could stay out of the rain and sort out mail. I think that we should petition for something better that works, and as president of the Residents Association at least have someone from the association watch over the delivery of our sacred mail.

Ten day notices was not delivered causing all sorts of legal issues, invitations not received and missing out on family and friend's invitations and news, not to mention, the late charges that our wonderful utilities and credit card companies love to do.

I sold a textbook on Amazon for $147.99. The item was shipped priority mail in order for the buyer to receive the item within minimal time. As with all items I have sold and shipped in the past, I purchased a confirmation/tracking number for the package in question. The purchaser stated that the book was never received. After filing a claim with Amazon, the purchaser was refunded their money at my expense. Normally, the track-your-package feature on the USPS website will state "delivered, [date], [time], and [address]". However, in this instance, the final message states the following: "Out for Delivery or Available at PO Box, May 17, 2010, 8:25 am, Roanoke, VA 24017". It is followed by "Delivery status not updated as of May 17, 2010, 10:25 pm".

My reasoning for the post office being at fault is the following: I purchased a confirmation number for the sole purpose to track the package and know when and where it was delivered. Records show that the post office in question received the package and sent it out for delivery. However, there is no update for this delivery. As a result, I was found responsible for the cost of the item. Had the post office properly followed the procedure, the item would be accounted for and properly located. This is the precise reason that I purchased the confirmation of the package, to avoid such an incident. Because of their negligence, I am not only out $147.99, but I am also out $11.99 shipping, the price of confirmation, and the book in question.

I contacted the central post office telephone number. After giving me a confirmation number (**), they instructed me that I would be contacted within the next three business days. After not receiving a response for more than a week, I contacted them again. I was forwarded to the post office in question that is on record as having received the package. I contacted this post office and spoke to a gentleman that stated he was unable to locate the package, but would look into the situation later that day and contact me with what he found. After another week of not receiving a response, I became furious and again called the central post office with my complaint. I was finally able to speak to a supervisor named Amber, employee number **. I explained my situation and she told me they were not liable. And if I wanted compensation, my only option is to 'change federal law'. This cost me approximately $315 (the refund, the book, the shipping and handling).

This happens on more occasions than I can count and has not been corrected even though I have complained about it to them. This post office routed my bank statement which clearly had my correct address on it to **, SC and the person living at this house called me to tell me he had my bank information. This is unacceptable and could cost me dearly because now they know exactly how much is in my bank account and my SS# and could possibly try to open up new credit cards or purchase something in my name. The Post Office inexplicably stopped delivering my mail for 5-6 days causing the loss of, at a minimum, two packages, a credit card bill, and a check from my sister. I called the USPS customer service line. In addition to getting my delivery restored, I wanted to know two things: (1) why was my mail cut off (specifically, did someone file a change-of-address form in my name); and (2) what happened to my missing mail, i.e. was it returned to sender, forwarded someplace else, or just tossed in a bin and forgotten?

I first called on Thursday morning, June 17, and was told that an inspector would get back to me within two business days. By late Monday, 6/21, I still had not heard anything, so I called again, reiterated my concerns, and once more was told to expect a call within two days. By late Thursday, 6/24, no such call had come, so I called again and learned that my case had been closed. I asked for it to be reopened. The next day, 6/25, a representative called, but I wasn't home and had to wait until Monday 6/28 to call her back. She did not have any answers for me, but asked me to explain again what my complaint was. She promised to forward my info to an investigator and told me to await a reply.

Of course, none ever came. As of today, 7/7, I still have no answers. I am receiving current mail again, but still don't have the mail that was withheld. I know for a fact that none of it has been returned to the sender. Where is it? At this point, I will probably never find out. Loss of time at work, loss of a $25 personal check, loss of two packages worth approximately $150 total.

The postmaster for the Bridgeview office located on 100th Place called me, but since the mail seemed to be delivered better I did not call him back.

A couple of days ago, I received flyers for store advertisements, sales, etc. In the flap of the first page for a "food for less" flyer there was vulgar drawing of a "dick" as well as vulgar language written in black magic marker. I am in law enforcement and am with 100 % certainty this mail carrier is responsible for defacing federal property. In 17 years, I have never received defaced mail. I have however received mail reeking with the odor of marijuana. I reported that incident to the postmaster of the 100th Place Bridgeview location. However, I was told that the mail carrier that delivered the mail that day could not be drug tested as the federal government does not do that. There is no way that these people passed the government test to become a mail carrier!

I have been trying to work with the post office located in my home town of Wahpeton, North Dakota. An important package that was scheduled to be delivered to me on June 9 never made it to my house. There was a track and confirmation number on this package to ensure that the package arrived to my house, and the time stamp on this package had a huge time discrepancy that makes it obvious that the package was either delivered to the wrong house or it was stolen. The time stamp claiming that it was delivered to my residence was 8:55AM, which is not true because my wife was home to get the mail because she has leukemia and medical supplies were also scheduled to arrive that day and they were delivered at 9:36am.

If my wife's medical supplies were lost like this package, there defiantly would be a lawsuit. The reason why this is a crucial package is because it's a replacement LCD screen for my wife's cell phone, because without it, her phone is useless. Her cell phone number is what her doctors and the hospital have on file for her contact number. The replacement screen is worth $108.98 shipped, and I feel this should be refunded along with stress of not knowing 100% if my wife's medical supplies will be delivered to the right address and not stolen.

For now, we have changed my wife's contact number for her doctors to my cell phone. The complications with that are 1) I am a program manager at my place of employment and I need to be on call 100% of the time. This is the type of stress that I don't need right now. 2) My wife has leukemia and hospital bills are coming in fast and I can't be throwing money around on items that I need and your job is to deliver this package to me without any worry.

I demand a refund along with an apology for the incompetence of your employees. I talked with the post master, and she claimed that the postal worker accidentally scanned the package for delivery at the wrong address and he realized it was the wrong house. That right, there raises a huge red flag claiming the postal worker messed up. Please make this right and get me my package or refund my money for you company's wrongdoing.

It is no wonder the USPS is going out of business, as well it should. At one time, there was an option on the change of address form for no forwarding of mail. This was a great option as it eliminated all kind of waste forwarding unwanted junk mail, etc. Now, however, the Post Office in an effort to modernize itself has eliminated the change of address forms from all its offices, and one must do so on line.

Two small problems with this new system. Many people do not have access to a computer or do not want to post personal information on the net, in particular when the new change of address process requires verification with a credit charge (there is a $1.00 charge for this) or an email addy. The other problem is that the option for no forwarding of mail has been eliminated.

When I called the USPS, I was told that nothing had to be done for the USPS would automatically return to the individual senders all uncollected mail after ten days. When I pointed out that this new system was self defeating because if someone moved into my former home before the ten days were up the new tenant would start picking up my mail and no one at the USPS would know this, the woman replied that all mail would be returned after ten days. Is there an IQ test before anyone is hired at the USPS?

Amazing that this took little time to screw up! As I was advising my local post office of my problem, Judy indicated that she would take care of the problem for me. This back and forth went on for months literally. When I called her yet again, indicating now that my mail had my actual addresses on the envelopes, their central office (that consumers apparently have absolutely no access to, except for their consumer affairs advocate) was changing my mail stamped on these envelopes to my daughters' new address.

To date, it's 6 months now, I've given and sent a total of 5 envelopes (proof to them of their screw ups within their own postal system). I'm thinking this past month now that I have access to the consumer affairs advocate for the postal service, we may make this bad nightmare just a memory. Not so my friends, as I just believe I've gotten the runaround once again today when after 9 days since I sent Rita of this CA yet another envelope, she said she still doesn't have an answer for me and mumbled something about that she had turned it over to the "Fast Forward Division", maybe the problem is in there. I told her that I will be calling her at the beginning of the week to check on this progress, upon which she replied "Well don't call on Monday as everyone won't be working this weekend and they won't have done anything on this". To which I replied, "Honestly Rita, I really don't think anyone is doing anything there anyway". That didn't set well with her as she quickly said her "goodbye".

I'm pretty sure I won't be getting any further with her now and when I asked her if there was anyone I could bring this to the attention to, she informed me that she was it. If anyone can pass on an agency besides this site that I can take this carnival ride to, I would love to take this somewhere that is able to get this corrected. I've read posts listed here and no one seems to have any connections other than writing complaints. Please, if anyone knows where else I can take this complaint, I'd appreciate it greatly. I wonder how I could get a government job like this, with all the benefits and retirement, get paid and have an "Oh, well" attitude.

I went to Elkton post office, returned everything certified so I could make sure the package got back to them in time and get my $500.00 back. Well the vacation people said they never received it and refused to give me my $500.00 back. I called the post office, they have on file that it was sent certified in May, but don't know what happened to it. Mark from PO said that happens, lost mail, etc. Mark wasn't very friendly and told me they wouldn't give me back my money and that there isn't anything I could do. Mark did say "you can call consumers affairs, but they won't be able to do anything". Can anybody do something? I need my $500.00 back.

I am supposed to get a mail from USCIS which is very important for my immigration status. USCIS has posted the mail on May 19, 2010 using priority mail. I have not received anything till date June 18, 2010. Also, the mail has not been returned back to USCIS. When I approached USPS, they asked me the tracking number (very irresponsible and rude answer). When I asked USCIS about the tracking number, they don't have one. I need to file another application with USCIS to get a duplicate copy of my immigration letter with a processing fee of $340. No fault of mine.

Do I need to pay my hard earned money $340 to government? Worst service by USPS. This is not the first time. When I shifted myself from Santa Barbara to Philadelphia (January 20, 2009), I had posted all my books and preprint of the papers by USPS. When I posted the package weigh 41 lbs. when I received it was 30 lbs. I lost 3 books, 50 preprint of my research paper and Xerox copy of all my documents.

I complained them on January 24, 2009. I have not received any response. I made 50 phone calls to know about the status of my complaint. They closed my case file without any intimation. Hence, every time I call them, USPS changed my case number and gave me mental torture. At last I came to the conclusion of not calling them. This is what they want. By giving more and mental torture, we will not follow with the complaints. So it is easy for them to close the file. What a government service are they doing?

I went inside this location at Trinity Mills Road in Dallas, TX 75287 on June 15th. It was empty and hot. They have no air conditioning. The 4 years of problems with the air conditioning led to it finally breaking down and has to be replaced. How can anyone in Dallas, Texas in June with 106 heat index work in these conditions? I appeal to you to fix this problem before they have a fatality.

I plan to keep in touch with this location, as I did today and they still have no air condition. The consequences will be that I will contact our local Fox 4 News television station and see if they can put this on the Dallas news. My guess is they will jump on this story and help these people who are forced to work in these horrible conditions. I won't go back and I don't see why they are subjected to this dangerous condition.

Today, I spoke to Lisa, Delivery Supervisor, USPS, and notified her that it was quite unusual that no mail was delivered to my home on Monday, June 14. We came to find out that the mail was apparently mis delivered since a neighbor dropped off 4 pieces of mail that they had received in error. Lisa's reply to this matter was, "It may not have been mis delivered by your mailman. School is out now and there has been a problem in your neighborhood with kids taking mail out of mailboxes. "My reply to her was, "First of all, we are not aware of a problem with children in our neighborhood tampering with mailboxes and secondly, school is not out until yet." I contacted our HOA and they said that they are not aware of a problem in the Milestone community with mail being tampered with and it's highly unlikely that this was the reason I had not received mail on 6/14/10.

Mis delivered and missing mail has been an ongoing problem for many years and has gotten worse in the last year. The supervisors that I have spoken to have been rude, unconcerned, and annoyed when I have called to report a legitimate problem/concern. I contacted Consumer Affairs in February 2010 because we had five (5) important bills that we never received that were due the end of the month. The Germantown USPS contacted me and I was told that all the mail in their station had been delivered and they would not investigate my concern about missing mail. One month later (the end of March), the 5 missing bills were delivered. Lost and mis delivered mail is unacceptable and a very big concern because of identity theft. I would appreciate a resolution to this problem. Thank you.

My mail was rerouted without my consent. 02/2008-06/2008, in the rerouted mail, I discovered very important mail sent back to sender. The government/bank contacted me via email/phone advising me the recent original envelope with the yellow sticker the Postal Office placed on my mail, saying, "Moved. Left. No forwarding address. Return to sender." In that unauthorized reroute was my letter, acceptance from HUD, Vancouver, WA Housing Authority. That letter told me, "The acceptance letter came back to the Housing Authority."

I waited five years for my Acceptance letter from HUD! After a long battle and many complaints with Postal Service, Congressmen, Federal HUD, Regional Headquarters of HUD, and the Attorney General. I have been redirected. I have been advised by the Local Housing Authority that I can be reinstated if I can prove I was living at the address. In the past with HUD Housing, I am aware I only have to give a permanent mailing address for the Acceptance Letter, alerting me I have been accepted for the HUD Program.

I've been on HUD in the past. My mail and I was and still at said address in question. (This was a postal carrier problem). I have some original envelopes with the yellow postal stickers and dates, and other mail that was delivered to prove mail was coming and some being returned. The address is my two son's address. I stay here.

The Postal Office is back peddling and not taking any blame saying, "Maybe the mailbox was full.” “Someone at that address told the mail carrier you moved." That is not true! Yesterday, 06/11/2010, I emailed the local Housing Authority requesting an appointment with all six Housing Authority Board Members. I am afraid of more intimidation and more disappointment by the government bureaucrats when I attend this meeting. I started this investigation two years ago, 05/2008 and have a long paper trail. I have a recent voicemail from the local Housing Authority stating her personal opinion, which is very derogatory! Please help.

He is mentally forgetful and has been sen returning at 6:30PM to get our outgoing mail.

I was told by the substitute mail person that John has not been delivering our mail timely, and leaves stuff on the shelf and forgets to deliver it. I guess he figures we are Seniors and nothing is that important for us. After all, we are not a business and we have little tip money at Christmas time. He has lost regular mail pieces of mine, too numerous to mention. I have file complaints both times by email and by phone.

I cannot even get the mail delivery man's last name from the Po - the woman told me it was "illegal" for her to tell me his name! What the heck? I am not the only person having problems with this mail delivery man. Another woman who used to live here had bad problems with this same mail delivery man.

I have now filed a total of 4 complaints over two packages and I am not done yet. My next stop for complaints is the FBI and state and local authorities.

Next week, I will wake up the whole Justice Department of every possible locality that I can file with around Charleston SC. I am looking for persons who are having the same types of problems, so we can for a coalition. There is strength in numbers and then maybe we can get an attorney to look into the fraud at the USPS in Charleston, SC.

The postal service said they left a notice on 4/13/2010 at 14:05 Bronx, NY with the scanner ID **. The protocol is that the package is to remain in the post office for a minimum of five days after an attempted delivery. When I went to pick the package up on 4/14/2010, I was told by the supervisor that my package was not in the post office and that it was enroute to Memphis, Tn 38101 with the scanner ID number **. I asked why was the package with an address of Bronx, NY would be going to Tennessee.

I was then belittled and humiliated with questions like: Did you have this package forwarded to this address? Are you sure? I made clear to supervisor (a male) that I had no idea why the postal service would forward the package the same day as the attempted delivery and I was not given the right or opportunity to pick the package up. He stood there and could not offer me an explanation for what happen to the package. I returned home and checked the tracking information and found that the package was in Brighten, Tn with scanner ID ** on 4/14/2010 at 8:08 p.m. When the package arrived at Brighten, TN, a notice was left on 4/14/2010 at 13:28 with scanner ID **.

I called the Brighten, TN post office on April 19, 2010 at 5:07 p.m. and was immediately told the package was returned to the sender. I went on to ask the employee, how was the package returned and the tracking information states that the package is in their facility. She said, "Yes, the package was returned, but we forgot to scan it."

I asked her, "Was that protocol for the post office to just forget to scan a package?" She said, "Ma'am, it's not protocol, but these things happen." I asked for her name and was given the name of her supervisor Joy. I was told to call her on Thursday or Friday between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Now, my refund is in limbo because the company won't refund my money because the tracking information is stating that the package is still in the Brighten, TN post office. I have witnessed other people trip over this same broken piece of concrete. Last fall I caught an elderly lady as she was going into the post office and had tripped over this concrete. I talked with the postmaster a few other times about this because it was not fixed. He always told me he talked to someone in Green Bay about getting it fixed and was told that there is no money in the budget for this repair.

There is a window almost directly in line with this broken concrete and someone could easily trip and go thru this window. I mentioned this to the postmaster. This morning my daughter (adult) tripped going into the post office on this very same broken piece of concrete. She scraped her arm on the brick building and twisted her foot. Another patron notified the postmaster of this incident. I stopped to talk to the postmaster again and told him about the incident this morning where my daughter fell into the building tripping on this same broken concrete. He said to me again, "Green Bay tells me there is no money in the budget to repair the concrete." I told him that he needs to push the issue. He asked if he could use my name and I consented to this. The tenant patrol has seen them drop a notice in the mailboxes and leave. Now I haven't worked for 6 months and they tell their boss all kinds of stories like, the bell don't work, elevator broken, no one home and these are all lies. I have been home all day till 4pm and no one has knock on this door. Since my husband works at night and my daughter goes to evening classes, every day there is someone home. I have called, emailed and wrote to the post office and all the address I found on their website. They called me back and said they are sorry and then I get my package.

Soon as the next package comes, I got another notice and I have to start the redelivery process and when that fails I have to make multiple calls to track my package and they make complaints. When I go to the post office, they act like I am a pain in the butt for asking for my package that I paid for shipping. Also what attitudes they have, that is why I always try to use UPS. This is an ongoing matter and I have tried every way I could think of to stop this. All I want is to get my packages. I think since I live in a NY housing project, they're treating us like second class citizens. It's really bad, most the time I must travel to the post office and pick up my package and that save the carrier a trip up the elevator. Few returned packages and I must pay to resend. I really cannot afford to pay extra being unemployed.

My first own purchase TV, that I had to leave at home simply because I couldn't fit it in the vehicle when I moved. I spent a thousand dollars of real money on it, that as a 15-16 year old, struggled to earn. My grams sent me several items I left behind, the only breakable ones are broken and now useless. Now, a serving dish that has been through hell, move after move, is in my living room in pieces. I am in tears. I'm heart broken to be tossing another piece in the dumpster because they trashed it. I can't even write how angry I am at them for breaking these things.

Fragile is all over every box, it's wrapped with the greatest care, and the first box had an obvious boot outline on it. I'm not allowing anyone else to mail anything to me. They have responded to my complaints with a "You should have purchased insurance". No, I should not have to beg people to add extra services to get a non-broken package. I am done saying please, thank you, and have a nice day. I am at that point of demanding what I want. I cannot afford to replace even one item they have broken. It's over $1,500 in damaged items, in 6 months.

Just want to know why it took 3 days for my item to get from Hawaii to San Bernardino, California, then sent to its destination 29 Palms. The delivery time is noted as 2-3 business days for priority mail. I mailed it on the 24th, it to got S.B. on 5/27, then sent to 29 Palms on 5/27 and 5/28 it is still sitting to be delivered. It should have been delivered on 5/27. Why the delay between Hawaii and San Bernardino? The length of time my item would have been delivered. I was told there's nothing they can do about it and it is no guarantee it will get there in 3 days. Why pay the extra or use the service if it's not going to work? No physical damage, just not happy it took so long to get from here to its destination. The time my item would have been delivered. Then I was kind of informed as if "too bad, so sad."

Our mail is continuously late, or disappears. In some cases checks/payments are lost or show up a few weeks late, causing financial burden to individuals in our office and our company. We have contacted the USPS investigative unit and filed multiple complaints. We finally were able to get someone out to our office and meet with us regarding this issue and have heard nothing as of yet. When we attempt to follow up with the USPS Investigative Unit or the WC Post Office, we are given little or no information. We're given the complete run around.

This problem has progressed over the last few years and has shown no signs of improvement. We are forced to spend the extra money and send important documents via UPS or overnight carrier, allowing us to track the packages and ensure a timely delivery. It is very unfortunate that the USPS can no longer be relied on. We have supported their services for over 20 years.

Over the past year, we have had more and more problems with our mail never being delivered. We are a property management company and pay all of our vendors across the country from our corporate location in Walnut Creek, CA. In July 2009, we had over 50 pieces of mail that was never delivered and has never been found again. Consistently, each week, we can have up to 10 pieces of mail lost. It is costing our company more money as we have to send our mail by UPS more often to ensure it is delivered on time. We have contacted the local post office and just receive, "I'm sorry, but there is no proof it is from our location."

My office has had a disturbing number of our outgoing mail items lost by the USPS. I personally have had four checks lost in the main in the past 60 days. That must represent 25% of my sent mail. This is reprehensible service. It’s very upsetting to think our government provides such shoddy services. Large cost of time to cancel checks, pay for that cost, issue new checks, pay yet more postage and worry about another delivery.

I have placed a complaint yesterday and received a call from USPS to say the track and confirm shows that it was delivered. I waited for the postman to drive up today to ask if he remembered leaving a package last week, he said that he remembered leaving something in our open garage but he didn't remember where he left it. This is hard to believe because we keep the garage closed unless we are outside. I am home every day with my newborn baby and no one ever attempted to knock or ring the doorbell for delivery.

I find his story hard to believe. There was also the fact that the online tracking was stating there was no update for several days, and then on the 26th, it was updated to say it was delivered on the 20th. Why was there no tracking information on the package between the 20th and the 26th? I need a follow up on this report and would like the postal delivery person interviewed again to make sure he did not misplace the package or perhaps something else. Why would he walk into our garage and place a package somewhere but not remember where he placed it. We keep our vehicle in our garage and the garage is kept closed unless we are coming outside as we did today to speak to him. Thank you for your help in this matter. This package has a value of $107 and I need this resolved. If this package turns up somewhere later, will it be redelivered automatically?

On January 2010, I made a claim to supervisor Post office Northside 33702, so I showed the letter sent from ex employer with label message "unable to deliver". I reported the case that I still lived in this address for 12 years. I have picked up my messages on regular basis but still my mail was blocked .I just receive garbage mail. My Chase Bank sent me a check (money) by mail USPS for 5 times and it was sent back to Chase Bank. A debit card from Chase was sent to me but USPS sent it back to Chase.

Again I talked with the supervisor of the Post Office on 05/20/2010 but my mail is still blocked. Now, the unemployment office sends me check on 05/18 /2010 but I still have not received the mail check. I called to report & created a case on Customer Service USPS, so the issue still is not fixed. Mail is still blocked. I received a call on 05/25/2010 from USPS who said my name is in listed on the computer to block mail. It really affects my finance now and personal life. I request that the issue be fixed and mail be opened.

I really think there should be a hotline to report employees of the USPS who may be on the verge of "going postal". Most employees at any branch of the USPS in Albuquerque are very kind and helpful. David, at the Main Post office in Albuquerque on Broadway, is downright scary. He acts as if he's doing you a favor to even look at you, let alone waste his valuable time helping you. He hums and taps his fingernails rapidly on the counter while you're getting out your money to pay, tosses your merchandise on the counter (stamps, etc.) - if you don't catch it, it will slide right off onto the floor. This is the second time I've walked into that Post Office and left on the verge of tears after being treated like dirt by this man. If there's a hotline for USPS employees with personality problems, this man should be on it. The only consequences I can see are that I'm upset enough to look for somewhere to make a complaint.

On March 27 of this year, I mailed two boxes of books to my daughter in Oregon. They both weighted approximately 51 pounds and were sent Media Rate. I sent them from the Sunshine Shipping and Gifts at Naples, FL. On April 5, both boxes arrived at my daughters. One box was in perfect condition and the other was also in perfect condition except for a small puncture on the bottom. However, this box was empty, except for a baby blanket, which was not something I had sent: A book about Boston, again, not something I sent and some brochures for New Mexico and not something I sent. This box had been sliced opened, the contents emptied and garbage put back in. I have spent much time talking with people from the shipping place where I sent it to the main post office here and also two separate calls I made to complain.

When I first called the shipping station, I was treated badly, hung up on and the person, whose name was Erica, would not pick up the phone again, but just let it ring knowing I was trying to re-call her. I then filed a complaint on the phone with someone who was sympathetic, but not helpful. I received a call from someone named Don, I think, who merely said "checked the backroom here and your books are not here". I asked him what backroom and he said the main post office. He could not be bothered either. I called to complain again and was given another case number by someone named Greg. Again, Don called me and said the books were nowhere to be found.

I went to the main post office three Saturdays ago and was told I had to speak with someone named Anita. I asked if they would go get her for me and they said no, I had to wait until she walked by. Well 45 minutes later, she had still not walked by so I asked someone else, Deborah **, who actually took me out back and listened to my whole story. She then had Anita come in and I told the story again. They were both very nice, but could not really help me but to give me this address. In this box was a complete set of Time Life books on the American Indians, some still in their original shrink wrap. There were also many books on the Civil War and some reading books written by Beverly Lewis, along with a couple of miscellaneous other books.

If mail had been taken out of my box here at home, it would have been a federal offense. I would like these books returned to me or sent to my daughter. If this is not possible, I would like to know how to press charges for the theft of this property inside the postal system. My daughter still has the box and the items that were in them and she has even taken it to her post office to show them that the books did not fall out but were deliberately opened and emptied out but like everyone else, they did not care either.

I sent a package about a month ago, April 26 or 27 is my best guess. I sent it using the Priority Mail International small flat rate box 8 5/8" x 5 3/8" x 1 5/8". Maximum weight, 4 pounds. I was given a receipt that was way faded out including a 1/8 size piece of paper that only had blue "watermarks" printed on it. If that was the tracking number sheet, then I have thrown it away. It does not at all look anywhere near readable and important. I called up the recipient to check if the problem was at the place of destination's postal service. But there was no record there of any packages delivered to them at all having my credentials.

I called up to the customer service just before writing this email and they didn't have any solutions for me. They only apologized! I even insisted on her telling me what the problems might be on why it did not come through. This is not my first time to do international flat rate mailing to the Philippines. I am very disappointed and in rage at the system they are using! They should keep track of the sender and recipient's details. I can prove I am the sender at all costs. I know what's inside the package and I can send you pictures of them. I have valuable stuff in there. I have a phone there too. Shoes and clothes for my baby. Jewelry prizes for the contest I held on my blog. If you can help me, I would be more than glad. I just hope and pray their system will allow me to get back to my package. Even send it to me back will be fine as of the moment. I don't mind the pay.

I hope the USPS Customer Service exists to help people with these types of problems and not those who are just asking about rates and stuff. That's the purpose why they exist, why there are customer representatives. I'm sure a lot of us who lost packages are more than willing to come up to them with very personal identification card just to prove to them we are the senders! It really sucks. I am very disappointed. Other than that, I guess I won't be trusting the entire USPS for failure of delivery. They too have very unaccommodating personnel. They might as well remind the people to keep receipts/tracking numbers until mail is successfully received! That's not so hard to do at all! If you can help me on this, I would be more than grateful. Details of sender and receiver can be given to you if needed. Have a good day.

My father and I bought a rental house through foreclosure. The house was vacant for a couple of years. We fixed it up and rented it out in March 2010. There was a broken mailbox by the street and another mailbox hooked onto the side of the house near the front door. When the new tenants moved in, they found that the several hundred high school students who walked by every day take the mail out, throw it on the ground, and mutilate the mailbox. So they took the box down and asked the carrier to deliver the mail to the box near the front door (By the way, every house on that street has mailboxes near the front door, not out at the street). The mail carrier would not deliver the mail.

The tenants went to the post office and got no results. We went to the post office and talked to a supervisor. Her name was Cathie. I told her I had pictures of all the surrounding houses and not one had a mailbox on the street. She said she would have the carrier deliver to the box on the house. Another week went by with no mail. We went back and spoke with Cathie. She said the mail carrier refused to walk it to the house like she does with every other house. She said it took too much time (We are talking about less than 100 feet). She said there was a history of the street mail box and he refused to walk to the house. (The box has had no mail delivered in probably two years). These tenants need to be able to get their mail and the mail carrier needs to deliver it safely to their house, where the juvenile vandals can't get to it. We went to talk to the top supervisor, Dennis, but he was in a meeting and has not called us back. Please help us!

A youth outside the post office waiting for a ride kindly assisted me in the large load and luggage cart of 8 large and heavy boxes. When I went to the clerk window of USPS employee name tag Wanda, who had an immediate prejudice and attitude towards me (petite blonde). I do not know her. She did not give me proper information when requested. She was very unprofessional and rudely rushed me. I addressed this and asked why. I said I am spending $100 for your services. She said because there were customers behind me. There were no customers behind me.

I stayed at the counter putting away receipts and taking notes. I had to ask for ETA. She gave me a random guess of 2 weeks, which was inaccurate. I warned her if the packages do not arrive, I would be making calls. She was talking to a woman who was hiding behind the wall with my packages. I believe they were opening the packages. One box was media mail books in a blender box (obviously not a blender because of the weight), another media box and another parcel post box she did not forward to mail room. I came back with 2 more boxes. Still, no line of customers. This time, I worked with Mark because she did not come to window. I mentioned no one is at the window. Are you available? He said yes. The box was very large and heavy, 25% of my weight and I used momentum to get it on the high counter. He did not offer to assist me (age 51, 100lbs).

Mark had an attitude and said, "we'll just throw it, why don't you!". He was not joking. I then addressed his attitude and said I have heard complaints from others about him. This is the 2nd time he had prejudiced and treated me rudely. After I addressed his behavior, he then followed USPS protocol and read my options of cost and ETA of USPS services for me to make a decision. This is what I asked of Wanda and she did not provide this. I do not know these people. I do not understand their prejudice and rude behavior. I know that their uncooperative and controlling type behavior of poor customer service leads me to believe that they would have strong motivation to not mail my packages. I did not call nor complain about their attitude or behavior, but now that I have 3 boxes MIA, I am asking assistance from Consumer Affairs for MIA packages. It is causing me to feel that my privacy is not confidential in obtaining these boxes which I pay for and am following all the guidelines to be a good consumer. The lost mail issues have become overwhelming and irritating. I have done my part to ensure that the mail comes to the correct address so what am I left to do, but complain.

My wife sent a package to our son, who was studying abroad in Spain. Our understanding is that the insurance value on a package overseas is equivalent to the shipping cost, which was approximately $80. The package never arrived, and our son returned home three months after she shipped the package. After numerous calls and letters to the USPS, they have determined that the package was delivered, yet they fail to provide us with any proof of delivery or delivery date. If it was delivered, it was not delivered to our son - the intended recipient - and was certainly not delivered within any reasonable time frame.

It should be noted that when first asked about the package (while our son was still in Spain), we were told that it was accidentally shipped to Great Britain, and was being rerouted to Spain. Our feeling is that the USPS is not keeping their end of the shipping bargain, acting as both judge and jury with regard to the claim - somewhat like being the judge at your own trial! They have once again asked us to file an appeal, at which time they would then have 60 days to determine the validity of. Seems like this is a tactic devised to frustrate and eventually beat down the consumer.

I am extremely upset with the postal office. I mailed out my wedding invitations and the office took its time to cut open the envelopes to remove a tiny champagne plastic glass affixed to the invitations. I have several of the invitation envelopes as proof that they were indeed cut out and envelopes were left with a large hole on them. I want to know what my rights are as a tax payer due to this insensible customer service. Why couldn't they just returned them or process as fragile. This is supposed to be the happiest moments of my life. Getting married for the first time and the stress is unbearable. What are my guests going to think? I suffered from high blood pressure and this has brought me over my limit.

I ordered a product on eBay. The seller assures me that my packages were sent, but the Track and Confirm service has record of only being notified of the packages, not that they actually shipped. It has been 5 days since USPS was notified. I contacted the seller who assured me that he mailed them and that others who have recently purchased products from him are also having trouble tracking their packages. I decided to contact the USPS customer service to see if there is any way to find out if the seller actually shipped the packages or if there was an error with the tracking service. When I called, the customer service rep was very short with me. I could barely get my question out before she started jabbering. I asked if she could help me contact the postal office from which the packages were supposedly sent. I was told that she could only tell me what was on her computer screen (the exact same message I'd seen online when I tried to track it) and that she couldn't speculate. From that point, to every question I asked she responded with, "I cannot speculate." She was rude and not helpful at all! I don't know whether to wait a while longer for my packages or to ask for my money back.

For the past almost seven weeks, the USPS, since I've moved into this area, has been a nightmare of the Keystone cops gone bad. I've had to wait days for packages in their care because they won't use parcel boxes in the building. They won't leave packages requested to be left with the leasing office. Managers, because they answer the phones, think they are entitled to do you a favor. Customer service is extra. Their voice activated IVR is worse and it seemed more companies are hopping on this bandwagon, that's the old push button *** IVR systems.

Needless to say, it has not arrived as of May 7, 2010. I have made several attempts to recover at least if not all of the monies that were used for this transaction to no avail. I have been told there is nothing they can do for me. Therefore, I am filing this complaint in hopes of recovering my monies.

I sent a package to a patient on April 16, 2010. When the patient came in on 4/27/10, he stated he had not received it. I called 800-ASK-USPS that night and spoke with Aubrey and was told someone would get back to me in 2 days with the whereabouts of the package. I was given the Confirmation umber. I did not receive a phone call from the Ansonia Station until 5/3/10. They left a message on my machine and when I returned the call, I told the postal worker the situation. She said she would leave a message for the appropriate person. I did not receive a call back.

I called 800-ASK-USPS again on 5/6/10. The woman I spoke to said that the package was at Ansonia Station and that I should call them to find out its whereabouts. She gave me the number for Ansonia. I told her I already tried calling them and they were of no assistance. She then told me to file a complaint with Consumer Affairs. Since I wanted to work this out with the post office, I decided to call Ansonia Station again. I have been calling for two days and no one has answered the phone. Therefore, I have been left with no choice but to file a complaint. Our patient did not receive his medication on time! Also, it's been 17 days and neither party has received this package that I sent 2-day!

I have a mail slot in my garage door. The postmen sometimes will put the mail halfway through the slot and drop the lid on it. They are supposed to put the mail completely through the slot so that it lands in the mail container. Apparently, it's easier to do it the wrong way. I have complained five times previously and it keeps happening.

Last time, I spoke with Mike, who is the new manager there. He promised me that this problem would be fixed, but it happened again today, for the sixth time! This time, I took pictures. It happened this morning (5-6-10) at 11:00 a.m. I want to speak to the postmaster that's responsible for this region, but the USPS will not give me his phone number. This has to stop!

We have complained on this teller to the post master 3 times and she still continues to be rude to my employees. If she sees us coming to her window, she will put the closed sign up and walk off instead of waiting on us. This has happened with several of our employees. If she does wait on us, she is very rude. She told one of my girls that needed a piece of tape to tape an envelope shut, that we need to bring our own stuff that we need to send our mail. That she would not do it again.

This employee is rude to any TitleMax employee that goes there and she waits on. We are consumers and that is very poor customer service. Whether she knows it or not, we pay part of her salary by using their facility. If she cannot deal with customers, she doesn't need to be working there. My employees do not want to go to the post office because they don't want to deal with her.

A package for a return item was mailed on April 8th 2010 with a delivery date of April 11th, 2010. As of May 3rd, nobody can tell me where this package is. It was last scanned in Phoenix, AZ. on April 9th 2010 and now can't be found. Why do we trust our packages with the postal service? I am now being told there is nothing they can do. Why are we the ones that have to assume the loss or delay because the postal service is unreliable? Why don't they take responsibility for the lost package? I am the only one stuck here with the loss because the person will not refund the money for an item they didn't receive, and the post office is refusing to reimburse me for their careless actions. Can someone please help me with this?

Since the Month of February 2010, I have put in for a change of address and hold of mail, for receipt of mail box keys, as of the day 5/3/2010 I have not been able to access my mailbox. I have made numerous trips to the post office, spoken to several supervisors and attendees only to get the same response: “We're gonna have someone look into it”.

They continually give me the wrong keys but refuse to acknowledge, they do not appropriately respond to customer per protocol, it's like by chance you go and then they come up with explanation as to why things haven't been properly handled. It has been a huge inconvenience, and a disservice to a taxpayer (myself) on the lack of accountability of the postal service workers at the Congress Heights Post office.

For the last year, the post office has been stamping every piece of mail that comes to our family at two or three times with a stamp that reads. To avoid delay in delivery, have your mail addressed to correct street and number, zip code, apartment number, P.O. Box or general delivery. We also have a small business with many subcontracting agencies that required us to change all our addressed envelopes, stamps, etc so that the P.O. Box appeared last. If it was not right above the city, we got the stamp routine.

Several important loan documents were sent back even though all the correct information was on the address. We received several hundred dollars in fines because our credit card statements were sent back. Letters from our children out of the country were returned to sender and lost. Items ordered were stamped because the sender required a physical address. The last straw was the tax returns, both state and federal, the census letter and the social security administration letters marked "official business" and sent to the physical address by the federal and state government no less.

Just as background, we live in a community of approximately 280, we have no automated readers here. The whole post office consists of about 200 boxes and all the red stamping is done by hand. Is the positioning of the P.O. Box on the item a Federal Law? If so, why don't the Federal and State Government agencies comply with their own rules? Does the price of stamps have to go up because so much time is spent on hand stamping?

A priority parcel was mailed to me. It hasn't arrived yet. Ten days after the scheduled delivery date (today May 3, 2010), I received a "Missed You" redelivery slip. The mail man never rung the bell to let me know to come down and pick up the package. I then went to the post office and they said that I could pick up the package tomorrow. I also called USPS twice, received a confirmation number and have yet to be called back concerning the whereabouts of the package. This service is so just incredibly unprofessional. What can I do to be reimbursed for the priority postage I paid for? Is there anyway this particular post office can be investigated? This is not the first time such a thing has happened at this particular office. Thanks very much.

I write to for your guidance and resolution to a mail delivery problem I have been having. My residence is a twin home where my neighbor and I have our mail boxes mounted next to the front door, this being the structure of the property always. There are neither obstructions nor any locks on doors stopping any postal mail carrier, local law enforcement, local county inspectors or pizza delivery, etc. from getting to my front door. The path from the public sidewalk to my mail box is clear. My home is not in any violation of any codes. With that said, I did not receive mail for almost a week. I went to the Oxford Pa Post office to inquire and place a complaint. I spoke with the post master Patricia and she told me she would have it investigated. At that time, I was handed my mail at said post office.

The following day after my visit to the post office, my mail was placed in the mail box by a postal carrier. After that day, my mail has been thrown on my porch wrapped in a rubber band like a local flyer would be, subjected to the weather and possible mishaps. On a professional level, I am in law enforcement and currently in the middle of a few legal matters. I am contacted and summoned to court by mail and when I don't get them along with daily living mail, bills, etc., this causes a hardship for me. It appears I have been singled out on this street. I am aware of other residents getting their mail daily and it being placed in their mail boxes that are at the front doors.

I returned today, 4-28-2010 at 12 noon to Oxford post office to seek a resolution to the investigation I was advised would take place approximately two weeks ago. I was advised the post master was out and spoke to an acting supervisor named Adam. I spoke with Adam who said he was aware of my request and mail receiving problem. He suggested that I relocate my mail box closer to my neighbor's door so when the mail man is standing on my neighbor's property he could reach over and place my mail in my box. I advised Adam, that I did not find that to be a fair request since others do not have to do this. The block still requires the carrier to come up each residential path from the public sidewalk to the residential mounted mail boxes. It appears my mail depends on the carrier of that day. At this time, I feel I exhausted my efforts to resolve this at the local post office supervisor and post master level.

I write to you in hope you can assist me in getting back to a normal mail delivery. Since my first complaint, I asked to be shown what violation and codes if any were broken at the federal level and county level. I have been given none. I am only verbally told they will look into it. This post office is aware of this matter and someone has made a decision not to deliver my mail. I would like this person to be accounted for and to please justify why only my mail cannot be delivered.

There are no reasons like loose animals, loose children, sharp tools, locked doors, etc. for a reason the postal carrier cannot properly deliver mail. At your request, I can take photos of the houses, area, and other local homes to provide a better understanding if needed. I thank you in advance for your time, sir, in this matter. I hope the problem can be solved.

I recently moved my post office box to the USPS Northside Station in St. Petersburg, FL due to problems I have been having over at the USPS Gateway Station in regard to undelivered mail. Things were going good until recently, and I had an incident with a window clerk over mail that is not mine.

I started getting mail that was not addressed to me and I went over to the window clerk to explain what was going on. Instead of taking the time to listen to my concerns, the window clerk (a middle aged woman and I did not get her name) became belligerent with me and at one point screamed at me for no reason. I was told that I must accept other people's mail whether I liked it or not. I was very upset when I left the post office due to the window clerk's behavior. I filed a complaint also with the US Postal Service through their website. No damages other than the window clerk making me very upset after I left. However, I am considering taking my post office box business elsewhere due to the window clerk's actions.
