I am completely satisfied with the customer service I received through Joe **. He explained the procedures and what I should expect. He answered all my questions. When I was unable to change the address on my accounts to the PO BOX, I was sent an address in an unexpectedly quick response. In fact, I have received quick responses to all my inquiries. Now, it's time to move forward.

Peggy ** was extremely helpful in getting me signed up. I still a getting used to the program and have had a few questions but I called her and she answered them all for me. I have not had the opportunity to look at my dashboard, but I have called all the accounts and closed them. I now have to get on line and change address and phone number she gave me.

Was hoping payments would go faster and talking to all debtors to let let them know where we are at so we would wouldn't have to talk to the same people 2 or 3 times a week. I have to leave a message at beginning to let them know our money situation so that may stop the call there instead of wasting each other's time.

Admitting you need help and that your debt has gotten you "in over your head" is a hard thing to do. But Freedom Debt Relief made making this hard decision easier. They're friendly customer service and knowledgeable debt consultants were informative and patient with me. They know this isn't an easy thing to go through, but they do their absolute best to guide you thru the process. My experience was excellent with Matt. He ensured me when he answered my questions correctly. I would recommend this company to my friends and family. The only problem I experience was the amount I have to pay per month. I was hoping I could have paid lesser amount.

Being a senior citizen now on a fixed income I was still using my credit cards like I did before retiring. Before I knew it I was close to maxing out and only able to pay off the minimum monthly. Freedom Debt Relief was the perfect solution. I now do not have these credit cards available to me and I’m learning how to stay on a budget. I couldn’t be happier that I will be debt free in a few years savings thousands on interest charge. I only gave it 4 stars because I was never told in advance I should contact my tax person regarding this. Am I going to have to pay some taxes on this??

Unfortunately I signed a contract so I can’t stop working with this company. The service is awful. This is such a stressful time for people when trying to get out of debt. Your score drops every other day and creditors are calling non stop and you’re getting letters threatening lawsuits. No one from this company explains this and no one answers your pleas for help or answers your emails and phone calls.

I couldn't be happier with the Freedom from Debt program. My credit card debt was out of control and they provided an affordable way to clear my debt. It takes time, as I well aware, but by making my arranged monthly payments I am starting to pay off my credit cards one by one. My credit has suffered initially, but no worse than when all the failure to pay and delinquent payments would have caught up to me. It would have taken twice as long to pay these cards off by myself.
I followed their recommendations to change my contact information so that when creditors called or emailed they would reach an agent at Freedom from Debt. The first month was the worst, payments were becoming seriously overdue and the calls and letters started to arrive. I had 9 credit cards! After the first month the calls and emails became less frequent, and by the third month an occasional letter would show up in my mailbox. Today, I receive no harassing phone calls, letters, or emails. So, way to go Freedom from Debt! That alone has made the fees worth paying.
As I write today, still in my first year of the program, I have 1 card completely paid off and 3 others in the settlement phase. That means that a settlement has been agreed on and I am making monthly payments towards wiping those cards debt out. I like how Freedom from Debt is able to settle the accounts within the amount I agreed to make monthly. It never changes, as long as you make your monthly payments all settlements and fees are resolved within your payments. No hassles, no worries.
At first I really didn't understand how this actually could work out but the information Freedom from Debt provided to me when I first signed up answered just about every possible question I had. There are also videos on the website to further clarify issues. I have always been able to reach someone immediately by phone if I had a question. Freedom from Debt is an amazing program and I don't know where I would be now without their assistance. I can't say enough good things about them. Life changing!

I could answer the phone without worrying about harassment by creditors or threats that had me worrying all the time about what was next. Much easier to balance my limited income with only 1 payment a month automatically deducted from my checking account.

I haven't been hearing from anyone. This is a scary situation. I have been getting emails, but not hearing from anyone via phone. My funds are already put in place for draft on May 24th. My son is in school right now but when he finished in May 2020, I will be contributing more into the escrow so I can finish payments earlier.

We are with Freedom Debt Relief right now and stuck. It is extremely misleading and now that I have really gone over what they are doing and just got off the phone with customer service, I just wanted to throw up! They talk about this debt reduction of nearly half and let me tell you it isn't even close. The tack on fees that you don't see coming until it's to late to get out of it. And the fees they tossed at us is 21%, OUCH! Now we are so far in and the interest has climbed so much, we're stuck. They don't call the debt holders ahead of time to let them what is going on. So you get phone calls and letters daily from creditors, along with lawyers trying to file a lawsuit against you.
Two years now just dealing with creditors and lawyers, with no end in sight. The stress is unbearable, I was just better off paying the minimum balance every month. At least I wouldn't have to deal with the stress of calls and letters everyday. Then since they didn't call ahead of time, they want you to do the leg work that you pay them for. "fax over the letter", "give of the name and number of the creditor." How about you do the job I pay you for!! All in all, Just STAY AWAY from Freedom Debt Relief.

Lady was very helpful with information of where I stand with these creditors. She said I am in a good position to close these accounts soon and recommended to stay with the same monthly deductions and if I add more to my monthly, they disappear sooner than your completed dateline.

Slow process in getting the creditors to accept offers therefore it hinders me the client from getting any credit and I’m not sure how fast Freedom Relief is moving to resolve my situation with creditors. I’m hoping that the situation will get better or all the issues will be resolved sooner.

I have called in to see how an account is going and every time I call I am told something different things. I feel I am being lied to every time I call. I am getting very dissatisfied. I even sent in extra money as suggested. You have a debt taken care of then after weeks and weeks, I was told there is no money to take care of the account.

We called to inquire about Consolidation Plus (CR) contacting us. They reassured us that they were a sister company and they offer their program to FDR clients who they think are fit for the program that will ultimately get the clients debt paid off quicker. FDR explained in depth about the company which convinced us to call CR back and listen about the program. The CR company explained it just like FDR, which lets me know that the FDR staff is totally knowledgeable about the company's program and who they work for.

I honestly don’t know what to write. I did had a good experience with customer service and would recommend any one who needs this kind of assistance. There a lot of debt consolidators but you guys are better to me. I was with one before and they are not clear. They are slow. Not efficient at all so I chose you.

Updated on 04/24/2020: I worked with Liz and she was trying to do everything she could to help me. She explained everything in detail. I had a good credit score and I wasn't late in any of my payments but I was getting so aggravated with paying interest on the credit cards. She told me that it was gonna be hard on my credit for a while. I had some papers filed in court against me from one of the places and she told me what to do if that happened. So I sent the paperwork in and that was taken care of. Most of the accounts have already accepted payments now.

My only concern with this program is that when I had a chance to litigate a claim, how to get it done was not clear to me and I was left to fend for myself with that client. Had it been made clear to me about the timeline I would have had this behind me instead I have a default judgment against me.

My bank denied my normal payment for some reason. I called customer service and the woman on the phone assured me they would only take one payment out of my account and they took two. She said she called their bank to make sure that this exact problem would not happen and it did. I'm sure I will get my money returned to me, they have done it in the past. But I am stuck with bounced check and overdraft fees. Other than that I am very happy with the company, my debt is disappearing and my credit score was still high enough to buy a new truck. Their method is excellent.

We were interested in debt settlement at the time and I researched and felt that Freedom Debt Relief was the best fit for us. We're happy with our program. When I first joined FDR I was ecstatic. I am now seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. My monthly payment is leaving me broke but I know eventually I will be able to save money and buy a home for my daughter and I.

I had not been able to pay off my credit cards because the interest rates were so high. I did a little bit of research, and I noticed that Freedom Debt Relief was number two, and I just so happened to get something in the mail from them and I just went with them and got their credit card program. Their rep was pretty thorough. She walked me through everything slowly and explained everything, and I understood what the process was and how it was gonna go. Then she asked me if I had any questions and she answered them. I also felt very comfortable working with her because every time we would begin a conversation, she made sure that I was the right person by verifying my information, my Social, and the important stuff. It was a great experience.
The payment plan worked out great. It’s on a monthly payment basis and the payment is satisfactory. It’s a good amount of payment to where it’s not stressing me out. I can also go in and add extra money when I want to. Overall, the whole process has been great. I’m glad I chose Freedom because I know somebody who is going through the same process and they’re going through a different company, and they have some concerns. But I don’t have any concerns with FDR because everything has been laid out to me, and I can go in and see everything on my client dashboard. He doesn’t have that option.

Freedom Debt Relief has done every single thing they promised to do. I needed the National Litigation group 1 time and they came thru like champions. Now I was disappointed with their lack of communication but their work and the settlement with the credit card company was awesome.

NEVER again, this is a total rip off. They charge you a 21.5 to 25% fee which they do not verbally disclose to you to settle your debt. I paid them 6500 to settle a debt. Any savings that they claimed to have saved me they kept for themselves. There is ZERO point in doing this when you can do this yourself for FREE, and it shows up as a charge off on your credit report. DON'T do it. They claim to save people 48% but in reality its 15 to 30% minus the 25% fees. If you are lucky you'll save 10%. You think you paying down your credit cards but you are paying Freedom Debt Relief thousands of dollars.

It has been a steady and forwardly progressive movement through my list of credit accounts and the settlements. One creditor actually went so far as to file a case against me but FDR and their legal department worked out a settlement and will soon be one more account to be resolved. Updated on 03/17/2020: I had my graduation thing the other day and the whole experience with Freedom Debt Relief couldn’t have been nicer. It all went like clockwork. I'm ill and my husband has helped me so much with Freedom Debt Relief. I'm 85 and he is 92 now. If we had an occasion to ask a question or call about anything, he’s handled it for me and he’s very pleased with it too. He has made several calls to Freedom and he has had some calls with the lawyers, and they seem very accomplished and understanding in what they’re doing. My husband has one still going and it has got about two years to go yet but everything looks pretty good on that right there also. We had been in the dry cleaning business for 47 years but the casual attire has killed our industry. That is why we even needed Freedom Debt Relief.

These people are legal "Thieves". Treat you really nice in the beginning when they are taking your money early on. The last CSR I spoke with was a bitter nasty person with a bad attitude. I overpaid them by 4K and they said I could get it back when everything was done. I fully expected to get less back, maybe 2K but they screwed the account up. Let accounts slip past them and I ended up with MAYBE getting $200.00 back. Overall, it would have been less expensive to have paid most of the bills off myself before they went to collections. Lesson learned. I will never use these rip off artists again, and would never advise anyone else to use them. Bad bad experience.
We're very sorry to hear you are so disappointed in your experiences with us, Ms. Carter. However, we are confused by you saying you 'over paid' into our program. The scheduled monthly deposits made by you go into a special purpose account. These same funds are then used to make payments to the creditors once a settlement has been obtained and to collect our settlement fees. FDR does not charge or collect on our fees until we've completed our job; which is to negotiate and settle the account balance for less than what was originally owed. After all accounts have been resolved and all fees have been collected, any funds remaining in the special purpose account are then returned back to the client. If this was not clearly explained in the beginning, again we do apologize.
Yes, you could have contacted your creditors and tried to negotiate down your debt. But would you have known who to call? How much of a discount to ask for? Our expert negotiators know all the ins and outs because they talk to creditors and collection agencies every day. We have worked hard to have great relationships with them, which allows us to get great settlements for our clients.
We hope that you remain focused on the fact that these debts are now behind you and no collections activity can take place. The balances are considered to be $0 and with our settlement plans, we were able to not only reduce what was owed, but we were also able to get the creditors to agree to stop charging any additional late fees and interest on the original balance. I needed to finish to my bills because of my credit score. I made a research and I saw that Freedom Debt Relief was where I was supposed to go for me to be debt-free in three years. The reps were knowledgeable. I told them that mess and then they would either contact the creditors or get contacted by them. I usually pay my bills from 1,500 and now, I'm paying 500 and something, so Freedom Debt Relief is a lot of help. Also now, I'm free. The creditors didn't bother me anymore. I would love to finish paying all my debt now and my credit score to go up.

I have been enrolled with FDR for less than a year, and already a large credit card debt has been resolved! Just knowing that for a relatively small set monthly payment my creditors are being dealt with professionally, and my credit card debt is actually going to get paid off within a reasonable period of time is a big stressor off of me!

We had too much debt and I was having a hard time paying it off. We had somebody who helped us with some insurance and she partners with Freedom Debt Relief so we ended up using them. I wanted to see if they could help get it going and take care of the debt for us. When we signed up, they talked to us about the accounts that we could put on in the program and when we could add more accounts. After that, our interaction with them has been through emails or text messages when they settle a debt. Their customer support is good. They keep in touch with me and they let me know when my accounts are ready to view online.
Working with Freedom Debt, I'm glad that I don't have to be making monthly payments on some of those charged accounts. That has taken a burden off of me because I have to make one or two monthly payments to them and that's it. I don't have to worry about trying to make one for so many other cards. It's my fault for getting into the debt, but it's always nice to have someone to help you get out of it and Freedom Debt is great.

I called to inquire about process of negotiations with creditors. I also had concerns about the consistent calls and threats from creditors . I am very happy that you have closed out 4 creditors. One is in progress and this week the Credit Union (which are hard to deal with) you settled and paid off the 5th plus the 6th is now in payments for 12 months. Then there are only 2 left. So far you took 55263 in debt and settled it for 30815 saving me 24449.00. I am so grateful God Bless you. In a year I will have just 2 of nine creditors left.

For months all the interest and penalties accrue. Then when a settlement is made you say how much you saved us, when in reality it's actually less after all the extra costs were incurred, interest, late fees, your fees, etc. Then you have to pay taxes on the rest. I don't like the process of ignoring creditors when you should be able to be honest with them.

I have a loan from Marcus and Freedom was suppose to work a deal, I put the monthly payment for Freedom in my account but Marcus is still taking out their payment and now my account is negative and I bounced two other things and was charged $70.

They are doing okay, but I think the percent of resolution could be better and fees are a little high. I wish debts could be resolved faster. And monthly fee along with resolution fees are a lot. But I am slowly getting out of debt.

Owing over $17,000 Freedom Debt Relief has lifted the pressure of very high interest payments to a level that I now can easily pay off this debt. Without FDR I would be paying for years whereas I will be making larger payments to get out from under this debt.

Customer service was very helpful. My call, however, was prompted by the fact that I couldn’t make the deposit using Freedom’s website and client dashboard. This is the third time I’ve needed to call Customer service to make a deposit.

We were very disappointed about our First Negotiation, because we were told it would be negotiated half of our balance at the time when we enrolled in January of 2019. Could you please explain to us what happen. Everyone that I speak with on the phone have been very nice, excellent customer service.
We appreciate you mentioning the excellent customer service you've received. Also, we can understand your disappointment if the settlement amount is a bit higher than anticipated. In most cases, because of the rapport that we have with hundreds of creditors, we are able to obtain magnificent settlements as low as 50%. However, some creditors are a bit more aggressive and require a greater percentage amount in order to settle the balance. We ask, Ms. Fulton, that you allow us the opportunity to settle more of the enrolled balances on your behalf. We truly believe you will see a significant savings with future settlements.

One comment that I don’t remember discussing We had to pay taxes on the money that was deducted off from creditor. I had to pay a lot of income tax because the deductions were counted as income. I did not qualify for the special IRS code.

Quite happy with the process, a little unhappy with 1 settlement but overall very good structured formula to follow, set it up and just keep making the payments. There was only 1 interaction with one account who set a debt collector onto me and Freedom handles it asap.

Once the settlement came though it was quick and fair! I would recommend a friend to Freedom Debt. I’m not sure if things could go quicker but if it could that would be a big plus. But I understand it’s not always in your hands to do so. But overall I am pleased so far.

I was very happy to hear one of my accounts was going to be settled, but it turned out to only be a $500 dollar difference from when I first started. It was a $5000 dollar debt when I first stopped making the payment. It was $4000 then it turns out they settled for $3500. Not a big difference. But it’s $500 I guess. Just wanted to speed things up. 3 stars out of 5.

I started the debt consolidation process with another company and they stop responding and were completely unhelpful. At which point I was overwhelmed and confused.
