Everyone I've spoke to has been very helpful, courteous, and has taken the time to explain everything to me thoroughly. When I decided to consolidate my credit cards I spoke with A few agencies before I called Freedom Debt Relief. I found them to be better than any of my other options.

It has been my experience that FDR doesn't contact my debtors about my accounts being in their control for payback. I currently have one account that has showed up on my credit report as in collections since Aug 2016. I turned over my accounts to FDR in January 2016, therefore my creditors should have been at least contacted and informed that my accounts were in their control for payback and once funds were available they would be back in touch with them for a payback. If FDR had of contacted my creditors and at least told them that they were working out payoffs for all my debts... I might not have this derogatory remark on my credit history. As of now because of this I am having issues in trying to buy a home.

I loved Freedom Debt Relief. They helped me pay off over $40,000 in credit card debt, in four years time. I would never been out of debt, if it were not for Freedom Debt Relief. I have since learned to keep my credit card spending to a minimum - no more than I can pay off in 1-3 months. The staff was always helpful, kind, and understanding. I initially decided to allow Freedom Debt Relief to help me gain control back of my life when I decided I wanted to try to buy a house in my early 30's. I'm in my late 20's now, and if I decided to pay my credit cards off on my own, I would do so in 23 years. Yeah, not an option. Not to mention if I decided to go at the credit card companies on my own, they may settle for a smaller amount in the future, but they would want a lump sum, which frankly I don't have since I am on a fixed income. But I was still uncertain of which options would benefit me the most in my situation.

My reason for getting into debt is because of medical issues. I had breast cancer in 2002, 8 chemo treatments and 30 radiation treatments. They were able to reduce all my debts by at least 50% or more. The consolidated loan was a savings of over $20K. I saw an ad about Freedom Debt Relief one Saturday evening on my computer, and no sooner had I finish filling out the application I receive a call. It's been five months since I entered the program, and exactly as their advisors said, we are now seeing creditors come to the table! So far, the savings are more than $8K, and I believe we are on track to be debt free in four years! What a great team to work with!

We are so happy so far. They have taken care of everything, they have been very pleasant to speak with. I highly recommend them. The thought of being debt free is overwhelming, but Freedom Debt is proving it can be done.

Overall program saving were wonderful. But, be ready to claim all canceled debts as income. The negative impact was, taxes had to be paid for the additional income and once I did my Federal taxes, I owe the IRS the difference.

It has taken longer to get the first settlement than I was lead to believe it would be. A total of 8 months. And due to all the added late fees for those months, the program only saved me a total of 350 dollars on the original amount listed. When entering the program they tell you they can save you 1/4 to sometimes 1/2 of the debt amount. I no longer feel I made a good choice in going with Freedom. I have 3 other accounts waiting on settlements, and I don't expect better results with those. I don't feel any better now than when I went into the program.

I was requested to submit an alternate address and phone number to the creditors to avoid unwanted calls and mail. The problem with this was that apparently no one was screening this mail henceforth, 1099-C tax forms were never forwarded to the correct address resulting in taxes not being paid on time. It was necessary for me to contact each of the creditors and request a copy of this form to be able to pay the correct taxes. This was, in my opinion, not a good business practice on their part.

It is taking a very long time to get my bills paid off and I keep receiving additional fees each month. I'm bombarded with phone calls and emails from my creditors. I expect Freedom to talk to them and handle my accounts. So far only one creditor has been negotiated with. And I don't like the fact that if not all of the bill is paid I have to report the unpaid amounts on my taxes as income. Now I'm worried that I will have a huge tax bill this year to pay.

The communication response time from the moment I fax something is in the 50-72 hours or longer timeline. I feel that I need a better response time. I would also appreciate a more pro-active follow up as to the WHOLE process. Also, I tried to add an account after one was deleted and they never added as price was too high for only a few thousand more. This was misleading!

I believe Freedom Debt should take a more proactive approach to reinstating a customer's credit rating (fico score). It would increase customer satisfaction tenfold... since Freedom interacts with the creditors directly. In my case when I started Greenleaf told me my fico would only drop 10 points but it has dropped over 100 points. By taking responsibility Freedom would be a very very attractive alternative to chapter 7 or 11 bankruptcy.
