I just got approved today, 11-11-17, so I can't leave a review for the debt relief program and I haven't rec'd all of the tools needed to work towards my way to being debt free, however, I can truly say that my debt consultant, Greg is Awesome! He was very knowledgeable, understanding and patient. He went into the office on his off day and during a soccer break that his son's team played on and the team his son plays on won 8 to 0. He stayed in the office until I was approved for the program. I'm very happy to have Greg in my corner all the way through this process and Greg let me know that they're still there to help even after my debt is paid off. The Freedom Debt Relief team is blessed to have him on their team! :) Hopefully, I will be able to complete another good review once I'm debt free. :)

After filling out the initial questions, I immediately received a phone call from Michael **. He explained everything clearly, gathered some information, and then contacted the underwriters. Within an hour, he called back and verified I was approved. This whole process took a very short time, and I am freeing up over $700 in monthly payments. Mr. ** was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and pleasant to work with.

This program is a lifesaver, I was honestly struggling with trying to get rid of my debt and trying to improve my credit. I didn't think I would qualify since most creditors don't even approve me with my bad credit but then I got a call from Melissa ** telling me about Freedom, in all honesty I really thought it sounded too good to be true and that they would never approve me, but after suppling her with all the info she needed and helping me through out the entire process she tells me that I am now enrolled in the program and will be out of debt way sooner and will now pay less in total and monthly for my debt. Difficult to contact after contract was signed. I was excited about the program at first. Then I started reading about lawsuit. I tried to cancel on the document but it wouldn't let me. I tried calling they said I have to contact the assigned mentor. Also I didn't like the amount of the fees monthly over $100. Very disappointed.

How does a Company claim that they are saving you money and helping you reduce your debt, and then charge you more money than was saved on the account? The guy handling my account was definitely telling me information to try and get me to settle with him vs a competitor when he said he'd help reduce all accounts and make sure he'd walk me through every step of the debt forgiveness. Now he barely returns my emails and I find out I have to pay taxes on the debt forgiven based on 1099-C forms as well as pay more than Freedom has helped me save on this account.
What this company should do is charge a fee based on the amount they save you, not the total of the account, especially since they can't guarantee that they will save you more money than what they charge you, obviously from the photo I put in. I spoke to a supervisor who claims that none of their cases end with taxes on the forgiven money. But I received a form notifying me that I will receive a 1099-C from American Express after the account was settled. Not to mention there are many articles explaining how the forgiven amount is deemed income by the government and taxed through a 1099-C form.
Maybe this is just an empty rant from a person who is pissed that he has to pay more in fees than money saved through this program and taxes on top of that... but after doing some research it seems like there is a lot of reports about this company. Be careful of going through third parties, I went through a broker type of guy who sent me through Freedom Debt Relief not explaining that it was a different company he was sending me through. Would have done more research if I had known.

IF you want to be lied to, robbed, treated like another dollar, please sign up. Talk about being shady. I had a horrible feelings of signing up. If you dont know how it works, basically they tell you to stop paying your credit and put money into their account until they can settle with your creditors when you have enough. What they DIDNT tell me was that you have to pay them like 50% in damn fees, while you can settle it yourself with the banks.
After putting around $1500 into the FDR, they paid $500 to my Navy Fed bank and took the rest in fees. There's a monthly fee which they never mentioned. Then on top of that I called NLLG to cancel and they wouldnt because they said FDR had to after FDR told me to call them. Banks HATE FDR. They do pick up the phone, but youll get a new person each time instead of the person who helped you. Also he added an extra credit card, which he wasnt supposed to and lie and said that that's what we agreed on. So if you want to be taken advantage of like a helpless dog, sign up and get ready to be robbed and lied to.

Today I made the first step to get rid of heavy outstanding credit card debt. I thought I was in good hands, but they did more harm than good. My credit score actually got worse with them. Some debts did get paid really fast, but once my account hit the one-year mark, my account representative made decisions on my debts that would take several years to pay off on very small amounts without my consent. They went in without my person and had a credit card that was in good standing charged off, and my bimonthly payments to them started to be deducted three to four days earlier than our contracted dates.
The last one straw was when they went and withdrew money out of my account five days past the allowed due date and then backdated the transaction in their system as to show they did nothing wrong. They did not get the original creditors to show the debts as paid, I never received a letter of release of debt, and I still had collection attempts made on the original creditor's behalf although FDR stated they were in negotiations. Stay far away from this company. They take your money and do not honor what they promise.

I was impressed with the information I received on getting out of debt. Even though it will take months at least I know I have someone or a place to call to get correct answers. Fully expect the creditors to be upset... and still have some to correct... but I believe I received good info on how to do that. And comfortable to call CSS for assistance and help. John ** was very helpful in helping me to get started on clearing some outstanding debt. He explain every step in the process and what I should expect next. John stayed on the phone while I went over the documents that I to sign for FDR and the document for legal assistant that I also signed up for. I knew once I made the initial call to FDR that it was the right thing to do. The 3 payment options that I had to choose from was affordable as well. If I have family or friends in the same situation then I will recommend FDR.

After you settled my debt, I hoped that my credit REPORT would be cleared. But to my dismay there 3 dings that still remain on the REPORT: Capital One (NEG Item); CBNA (NEG Item); and BARCLAYS BANK of DELAWARE (LATE). I thought that removing these NEGATIVE items from my CREDIT REPORT was part of your service. I called when I saw FDR when I saw the items on my CREDIT REPORT and was told these would be "taken care of". The items are still on my credit report. Is there any help that you can give me to get rid of these items?

Boy, what a canned response, they don't dare answer back to what I said because they know it's true. Be Careful. Read up and you can do what they do without the high fees. What they say they will save you is what they charge. So if you owe 20,000 and they say they can get it to $10,000 they will charge you $10,000 for their meager services.

I was not behind on any payments. At time I was curious from email and when I was contacted next day for investigating email and options on debt he made it sound the only way out of debt. Next thing I know I was signed up and now I feel screwed. I could have made payments required maybe late but made them. Very pleased with Freedom Debt but has been a terrible mistake with transition to Consolidated Plus. Difficult to deal with and will have to deal with it until credit improves. I wish had not completed loan with them.

Waste of time. No support whatsoever. They tell you to make no payments once enrolled yet they do not contact the company or companies you have been asked to stop paying which continues to lowered credit score. Once I cut ties with FDR resolved my own debit with a phone call. Best advise when you get behind call the company you're in trouble with yourself. Very disappointed in FDR.

Your rep told me in the beginning it would be 48 months to complete. Well my time is up next month and then I’ll have my Bank stop the withdrawals.. That’s $23,616 total. I can’t do it anymore.. So it was a big lie he told me. Someone should know about this behavior ASAP... Also, you never fixed my graph for the last 2 1/2 years..

Our experience left us scratching our head. We went into this thinking it was going to be a long and drawn out initial process, but it turned out to be the opposite. Our account rep Amber make it go so smooth, that when we completed, we thought we may have missed something. It was that easy. We would highly recommend for anyone that has lost their employment, tried to stay afloat, but comes to a point where a choice has to be made. FDR can definitely help you before things go too far South.

It has been a long road for me with my debt recovery. But I wish I would have found FDR 10 years ago.. Best thing I've ever done for myself. Can't wait to be out from under this mountain of debt. The creditors involved were unhappy and did a few very underhanded things to me at the beginning of the process including failing to send all the tax information I needed for the IRS. As a result I had a small problem with the IRS but after that was resolved I still saved a lot of money. I will likely never be able to do business with those creditors. Consolidation Plus/Freedom Financial did what they said they would and warned me about everything the creditors did. Overall I am happy with the experience.

After going through a two year divorce, I was left with over 24,000 dollars in debt. I also lost my naval career. So, there went my stable income. I tried to re-consolidate all my debts, but with my low credit score, it wasn't an option. My only other option was to contact a debt relief company or file for bankruptcy, which I didn't want to do. I wanted to pay it myself. I was very pleased with the services provided. I would recommend to a friend.
