So far my debt is being reduced but the fees they charge are excessive as far as I’m concerned. I should of read the fine print closer. Everyone there has been extremely kind and helpful. No complaints there. Just the fees are outrageous. I could of had my debt paid off in half the time.

For example, fees of 21% of enrolled debt in a 42 month program would work to about 6% per year annualized. This does offer significant savings over other solutions, especially for those who would otherwise be making payments as agreed to their creditors at the interest rates they have when entering our program. Additionally, if you compare our fees to the 100% debt + interest % + late fees + penalty fees if someone can't meet the monthly required minimum payment. We offer a proven solution at an affordable monthly cost that helps our client pay down their entire debt - principal, fees, interest and all. This is one of the best things I have done. The biweekly deposits easily fit into my budget and all I need to do is make sure they are available. It has taken less time than I thought to make some of the settlements with my creditors. I highly recommend FD.

I had faxed in all the information that I had about a Debt that I had in January 2018. When the creditor indicated that I needed to send them a Power of Attorney I contacted Freedom Debt Relief. I had 3 conversations with 3 different people and got a different answer each time. Eventually I received an e-mail that said they couldn't add it to me dashboard. I am not sure if everything was looked at to make that decision.

I contacted Liberty in response to a mailer on debt consolidation loans and was discussing a debt consolidation loan with them. Every step of the way, this was described as debt consolidation, and I was told that my accounts would be closed and I would pay off the debt in installments. It was only by looking up external information on Freedom Debt Relief after the process that I discovered this was in no way a loan, and they actually wanted me to just default on my debt until it went into collections, at which point they would negotiate for a lower settlement (which I could have done myself).
I did not come to you to start missing payments and drop my credit score while you wait for my creditors to get impatient enough for payments to settle. I came for debt consolidation. This process was severely misrepresented. If you'd just told me upfront what you were actually doing for my accounts, I could've told you whether it was helpful for me or not, but you couldn't have that basic level of honesty. Extremely disappointing.
We apologize if the details of our program were not properly conveyed to you. Our debt consultants are trained to be transparent regarding the service we offer. We understand that our process is not for everyone and that it can take some time. It is also not a very easy one; but it does work. I am very impressed by the staff and the system, the only flaw was one of my debts almost got to court, and it could have been $2000.00 cheaper if acted on before the lawyers got it. Sometimes waiting things out gets close. All the others worked out fine or better than fine, thanks to all who worked with me, the staff are top notch.

We have received and sent to you a court hearing on the Sofi Account and also to NLLG. NLLG says they are not handling it, however we have paid monthly for this service and you guys continue to take money out of our checking account. Cannot get anyone from your office to tell us if we will have someone there to represent us or do we need to fire you and take care of the upcoming court ourselves on the 10 of April? I need to know something on this. Your people who answer the phone cannot seem to help with anything like this. Why is that? Who should we speak to concerning this? We spoke to Julian more than 10 days ago and he told us to call back in 10 days...but he is never there and does not return phone calls. Is he giving us the runaround and should we be concerned that nobody from FDR or NLLG will be there on the 10th for court?

I have been a client of FDR since 2016. They have settled three of the five accounts I included and I am well on my way to "graduating" from the program in 2021. They communicate fully about all the actions on my account and work with me on any changes in deposits or other issues that may arise. To be bold and blunt, your company absolutely sucks. You settled two of my accounts for more money than what they were originally enrolled in the program for. This is not saving me money nor is it helping me. Your company has done nothing but hurt my credit rating and cost money. Deciding to partner with you to try and reduce my debt is the second worst decision of my life. I could not be more disappointed or unimpressed.

I'm happy with the results so far. I've had one settlement, and although I wish it was settled for less, I'm mostly satisfied. I'm hoping for better results with the rest of my accounts. I was happy until the last settlement. I joined with a certain amount, now I fall short and I am in another program, more finance charges, no one has responded to me. I paid almost as much to settle this last claim than the payment itself. I feel that is not acceptable.

Citi Bank has twice made a settlement offer of 63%. I owe them $4,590. and they are offering to settle for $1,690. This is a great offer. I have more than enough in my dedicated account to cover this. I’ve sent this information to Freedom and I’ve spoken with a rep, to no avail. The current offer expires on April 2, I want to accept it! I’m frustrated and not happy with the way this has been handled.

I was so excited when my first settlement offer came in. That feeling quickly went away when I noticed how high the settlement fees FDR charges are. The settlement fees plus the settlement amount come out to be about the same as my starting balance was before I ran my credit to the ground in this program. Not happy and feel stuck.

I went into the program with 6 credit cards debts, by now I should have 4 resolved including the card ending in **. For almost a year if not that or more, I have been asking FDR to enter the card ending in ** in the resolved category and they refused through no fault of my own. They told that they had a $200 dispute with the firm. They settled the credit. I also got duped by them because they told me the program will take 46 months, it appears that it is 56 months, and the amount of money that I paid to date plus the amount remaining will be way more than the saving they promised to have. Due to fact that happens to me, I regret that I did business with FDR; and they don't resolve it, I am going to seek an out, and I hope that will be amicable if we part ways. Needless to say, I need some help from you with those intelligent businessmen who are taking for a ride.

FDR has been a Godsend for me. I got into debt way over my head due to circumstances in which most were my fault and some were not. I reported that Zwicker law firm had taken over my Discover card debt immediately when it happened last year and apparently no action was taken or attention paid since it proceeded to lawsuit stage resulting in my having to pay $50 more a month I can ill afford toward debt settlement. I am so glad I paid an extra for the NLLG coverage or it could have been worse.

I'm very happy with the experience so far, a couple things that I'm worried about is I've received letters from creditors that I have already paid off saying they would like the money, just worried how I actually find out if they are paid off or not.

Updated on 08/27/2020: I could not be happier with the results that I am getting with Freedom Debt. Instead of taking me forever to pay down my credit card debt... I will be debt-free in a very short time. They made it so easy for me and I would recommend it to anyone in over their heads with credit cards... Don't work for interest.

Best thing I ever did for myself. This company is true to their word. It program truly works. I am no longer overwhelmed getting calls from creditors who either hang up on me, or leave nasty messages on my phone, not to mention getting nasty messages via snail mail. This is a very reputable company. Freedom Debt Relief is helping me tremendously & I feel very fortunate to have them on my side. Working very diligently for me, always staying in constant contact, and their website is amazingly easy to navigate. Very knowledgeable, competent, and very professional. They have taught me a lot along the way to show me ways to deal with creditors, and also remain debt free once I truly am. I cannot say enough good things about Freedom Debt Relief.

The first representative lied to me seemed to rush me off the phone because of my request and claimed she sent it in an email within 10 seconds of me asking. The second representative had to spend a few minutes getting the email ready to send and seemed to make more sense. Seemed like the first didn’t want to take the time to deal with me.

Put credit in the toilet. You told me my credit would be temporary lowered it to years and still **. You will not contact my creditors like I was told. Go court sum-ins so lawyers were involved that cost me more money than the original amount. You are very bad...

I was in over my head in debt. I got in touch with this company and they have helped me so much. It is far better than bankruptcy and you can pay the people you owe something. I am mostly happy for the services FDR provides however, sometimes settling has taken so long that I end up owing more after a settlement has been reached than I did originally. Seems a bit useless in a situation like that.

Why are you setting up payments with a creditor when there is enough money in my account to pay it off for the negotiated amount right now. Fact of the matter is, there are 2 accounts like this. I have called and spoke with customer service numerous times about this. I CANNOT get across my sense of urgency regarding this and I am not getting the action I want. I had Chase offer me a great settlement and I had to pull them out of the program because nothing was done and I settled it myself. You also mess up my settlement with State Farm because payment were not made on time and now I have another 7 months. I truly learn my lesson dealing with this company. Never will I never get in debt again. I was taught a valuable lesson.

Updated on 09/11/2019: I strongly advise working with ANYONE other than Freedom Debt Relief. I started working with them and everything seemed to be going well. They did reach a settlement for a few accounts, and I thought I was heading in the right direction. However, earlier this year in March or so I received garnishment paperwork for an account I had handed to FDR. According to FDR they did not have all the information for the account and were unable to get into any settlements. They claimed that they had tried to contact me about getting the account information but I do not have record of their attempts to contact me. Long story short, they did NOTHING to help. They forwarded me to National Litigation Law Group who FDR partners with and I had been paying for the legal services just in-case something like this happened. NLLG refused to help as well.
I was extremely upset and could not get any real help from FDR and just had to have my wages garnished. Well it's been 5-6 months now, just finishing that garnishment and I find out another account that I placed with them has gone into garnishment proceedings. I reached out to FDR and still have not heard anything back from them. The account that is moving forward with garnishment has been in FDR's hands since summer of 2017 is showing as "not ready for settlement" in my account. I managed to survive the first garnishment by clearing out my 401K and now I have absolutely nothing and am very frightened about the upcoming garnishment. I thought I would lose everything with the first garnishment and now I am certain I will lose everything with the 2nd garnishment. Really ANY OTHER COMPANY would have been better to work with than FDR.
Original Review: I am VERY upset with FDR. The salesman who I first spoke with assured me that working with FDR is the best choice to reduce debt and to avoid legal problems arising from accounts in collections. Well that is exactly where I find myself now. I received garnishment paperwork for an account that FDR was supposed to be servicing. I guess they did not start any settlement with the account that went to garnishment because the balance was higher than some of the other smaller items they were working on. FDR did settle a couple accounts for me and their settlement is $5 or $10 a month in order to stretch out the length of time you are in the program. Back to the account with the high balance that was pushed off and not worked on, well now 25% of my income is gone to garnishment for the next several months.
I also stupidly signed up for the legal services they offer and have PAID EXTRA to have on my account. The legal reps were very prompt in telling me they would not represent me and just pushed me back to FDR. After calling FDR AGAIN to explain the legal services dropped me, they said they would send my account over to another legal team and I would hear back in 3-5 business days, all while garnishment is looming ahead. A week went by with no word from FDR, I called back and was hung up on. Called back again and spoke to a very rude woman who gave me zero information at all. After getting more and more frustrated with her rude responses I spoke to a supervisor, who told me I needed something from the court. Nobody told me about this prior.
In the week of waiting to hear back and the 3 different conversations I had with FDR prior nobody told me to get these documents from the court. All the while FDR does not seem remotely concerned about the fact that my wages are now being garnished, I will need to drop out of school, and could be looking at eviction in the next few months. They were not apologetic and did not offer any alternatives, their only answer was "we haven't heard back" from the firm who filed the garnishment. The supervisor said she could see FDR reached out a week prior, but shows no other notes. They tried to reach out ONE time and never followed up again. They were very eager to work with me when I signed up and gave them permission to debit my bank account every two weeks, but now that my life is falling apart, they could care less. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

I couldn't afford to pay my bills and Barbara on Sharks had suggested Freedom Debt Relief. They provide me with consolidation settlements and the quality of service was excellent. I called because my account said action needed. One of my account numbers was entered wrong. The man I spoke to was very nice and re-entered my account number. But looking at my dashboard it still says action needed. So I wasn’t sure if my issue was resolved.

We had a lot of credit card charges from hospital bills and other stuff that I had. When we first went to Freedom Debt, they put it all together and consolidated the remaining balance that we had. I didn’t feel judged nor embarrassed that we had to do this because we never had to do it before. The reps were able to work with very well. Every time we had to contact them, their response was right away. I wasn't clear upfront on the charges that they took, but we were okay with everything and we finished with Freedom Debt. They said that I was eligible to go to Consolidation Plus. So, we’re really happy with it.

Updated on 10/28/2021: Freedom continues to do what was promised when we signed up and we're down to the last account which should be settled in the next 3 months or so. They've done a remarkable job attaining good settlements for us! Don't be afraid to give them a try!
Updated on 02/06/2021: Overall the experience has been good. FDR has done exactly what they said they would. Sometimes I wish communications were a little better but the summary email at the beginning of the month is helpful. Down to the last few debts and working through them.
Original Review: So far Freedom Debt Relief has done everything they said they would. They have been doing regular account settlements as funds allow and if creditors are being difficult the optional NLLG service has been great. Communications are generally good, statements are easy to understand and the website works great.

I would have to say that it has taken longer than I originally thought and I would have liked to settle at a lower rate with some of my debtors but... now that I am about one year from being debt free I am feeling better about the process. It does take some time and it is a little stressful at times. I would have been in debt a lot longer if I had not gone forward with this plan.

First thing is I want to say is thank you Shaun ** for helping us and getting all of the information about your company to us so we felt we were could make an informed decision. You know the ole saying information is powerful. I had received something in the mail that I looked at on Sunday and decided to apply. I believe it was by Even. I first submitted it under my husband’s name because he makes way more than I do and wanted to see if we could file jointly to get a higher loan with us both being on it. A representative called me before I think I had the chance to hit send. We couldn’t do a joint loan so I applied with my information and that’s when you called me as I was hitting send. We normally would have taken the loan offer under my husband’s name but we realized that not even for a full $10K when it was said and done we would have paid over $32K for the life of the loan.
As soon my application was sent you called me and you held no judgement in your tone nor your voice. We went over some very important but private information and you still gave me the feeling that you could turn this around without a single push for a hard sale or a change of tone in your voice. You really were informative, explained everything and because you sounded too good to be true I pulled up the reviews while I was talking with you. The reviews were great and the fact we could be debt free in 4 years was a very satisfying. I never thought this would be us.
I’ll be 44 years old tomorrow and before I’m 50 we will be on the road to financial success. I’m not the best writer so I apologized but explaining how much we had to pay last year for our medical due to my illness and the fact 4 years ago I went from working a full time job making almost $70k to going on disability making less than $24k you understood. Again no judgement. I respected your advise so much I asked several times. When a question would be brought up and I wasn’t sure what to do I asked you what would you do if it was you in my position? You always replied with what I really believe was an honest answer so I took your advise.
Your company really has something special going on and it's employees like you is the reason people don’t feel judged, alone, scared or embarrassed. Also, I told you from the beginning I didn’t have the best memory and I tried to write down everything you said but I know I repeatedly asked you the same questions multiple times and you handled it like a pro, like it was the first time I asked you. Thank you Shaun for calling me exactly when you said you were (always on time) and if I needed to call you and you were on the other line I knew you’d called me back the moment you got off the phone even though I didn’t leave a message. We spoke a lot during the last 4 days and you made sure that I had the best information at all times. So if you can’t tell this is a huge thank you letter for everything you have done for us up until this point.
You all moved so fast that you let us know this was as important to you as it was us and you treated it like it was your personal dilemma not ours. Thank you for for saying, "You don’t need that other loan to just buy you a few more months and then you're back to where you were prior to that loan only to be deeper." The stress I carried about juggling money to make sure I could pay for this or that each month is over and that’s all because of you. You set us up so we can just pay our bills and not wonder where the next dollar is coming from and that we would have enough left over if there was an emergency without taking out another crazy loan.
Thank you Shaun so much and I’m so happy that when I picked up the phone that day it was you on the other line. I’m not sure how someone else would have made me feel probably fine since the people I have spoken to for verification never made me feel any sort of less than. Regardless I’m so happy you have taken care of everything, made this a hassle free transaction and getting off the phone without an ounce of shame for the situation we are in. I was so sure you had done this program before yourself because I felt you had been in my shoes at one point. Crazy to find out you weren’t. Thank you for listening to me cry about why this was such a huge deal and how you literally were giving me not only financial freedom but freedom from other things we spoke about that was personal to me. You never once rushed me off the phone or made me feel like I wasn’t your only customer.

It is nice to have my debt negotiated for me but you talk the creditors down and then I still end up paying the same amount the debt was or more because the fees for check by phone or payment that you charge are so high that I end up paying the full amount owed or even more. One payment is set up for pay a check by phone monthly of $5.00 but the fee for that is about $7.00. I am not saving any money on that settlement because you charge so much.

You're not really saving the money. They say your balances go up because of collection companies, then they settle on that balance, then you have to claim the savings to IRS... Big mistake joining this but too late now. Credit is Ruined... check payment fee $10.00 ACH fee's $3.00 monthly service fee, the fees come out to more than the credit card monthly payments. So sorry I joined.

I enrolled with FDR in 2017, I am paying all installments on time. I am being sued by BOA and now Discover Bank! FDR did not negotiate with the banks for two years, yet they warned me not to negotiate with the banks on my own and the result is: I am forced to pay more money, extra one time payment to FDR, court fees by BOA and attorney fees (Law group representing FDR)! Are you a scam company?

Customer service was great when they were trying to recruit me but after that, haven't heard from them. When I call, I just get general customer service. I don't have a personal representative who knows my account. Also, not sure if the fees they charge are worth it. If I had to do it over, I probably would try settling my accounts on my own.

The staff at Freedom Debt Relief, have been incredibly helpful thru this whole process. After three years in the program almost all my credit cards debts have been settled and the only regret I have is that I didn't do this sooner. This company takes advantage of people struggling. They will tell you they need X amount to settle a debt, however, they don't even reach out to the creditors yet when they say this! It's only to cover their fees! They are not transparent when dealing with your money. They told me they needed $2615 to negotiate my debt, not to pay their fees, to start negotiating. They said that they will not help me until I get this amount. So I don’t paying 25% interest plus fees on my taxes and $1000 was just for their fees! They didn't even offer it to the creditor to help negotiate my debt down more!!! When I said I wanted to remove the money, they said they will pull out of negotiating and won’t help me!
I said if I am short money to just let me take out that $1000 and increase my monthly deposits! So I can pay the money back to not get into more debt than I am in! And they said no and before even paying the creditor they took out their fees! I have told them how upset I am and they haven’t answered me at all. Mind you, this is the SECOND time they have been negligent with MY money and not transparent. BEWARE, this is not a good company to help with your debt! Relief? More like Grief! Do a nonprofit, or any other company but this one!

Extremely poor communication, goes out of the way to ** people with the high cost of commission. It's absolutely horrible what you charge every month for fees, very ignorant staff, can't speak English so very hard to talk to someone. Would never recommend anyone to use Freedom Debt for any reason. Never again.

Our fees are not collected until we've obtained a settlement agreement with the creditor and the client agrees to the terms of the settlement. Once the first payment has been scheduled to go out to the creditor, then and only then do we schedule the drafts of our fees. Until this point, FDR does not charge any fees whatsoever to our clients.

I am disappointed the FDR did not contact my creditors, to inform them that i made arrangements with FDR to get out of debt. That resulted in at least one creditor filing a claim against me. NLLG dealt with it, but it was not necessary. And i am afraid that there is one more creditor that will do the same.FDR should have contacted them and negotiated to pay part of my monthly payment to show good intentions.

I am hoping the payoff by me at a WFB branch yesterday has been posted. Taylor (?) told me it would be fine for me to pay off at the branch. The reason was that my mother passed away in January, and as Executor the bank would not allow me to create a new account for her Estate under my name as long as the delinquent account with WFB was still outstanding. FDR worked efficiently and effectively on settling my four smaller debts. My largest debt did not go as well. I asked a customer service representative about settlements with Discover. He assured me that FDR could settle with Discover. I don’t know if that’s true or not. Discover did not work with FDR but instead sued me (which is their right)! However, if I had known that I would be sued and my reputation ruined along with my credit score, I would have tried to work with Discover directly rather than including it in the contract with FDR.

You have had my accounts and my money for a year and 4 months. During that time the only action you have taken, aside from taking some of my money every month, has been to resolve a case where I told the creditor about you and they came to you for resolution. You have had more than enough money to settle 3 of my remaining accounts. While your story is that you need 25%. This is ridiculous. Also you never told me this before I subscribed with you. While you have been sitting doing nothing, you have managed to ruin my credit to the point I cannot even remortgage. Thanks for nothing!! I was not able to manage all the debt anymore on my own. I found an ad on Freedom Debt Relief and I also knew somebody who had a relative that used them. They were good at setting everything up and working with me on a payment that I could afford. They’ve also been great at handling a couple of the things that I have gone through like law firms and other things. They have really good customer service, too, and I've had good interactions with them. With Freedom Debt Relief, I have to hold myself accountable to a tighter budget and just living within my means. I found Freedom Debt Relief online looking for help with my debt. I understood what the company was explaining and I thought this would be a good solution for me.
