Classmates.com charged me for services I did not want, so now I want to cancel my membership and I can't seem to find out how to do it.

I joined classmates.Com last year as a gold member and since then I have not been able to access my account, more importantly, I am unable to reach a human being for assistance in accessing my account. Classmates.Com took my money fast enough - other than that it's been a nightmare dealing with them. They do not provide any viable customer assistance; there is no customer assistance/Contact us link on the classmates.Com site. I am now going to attempt to cancel my account. It's a waste of time and money.

I didn't want them take out 15.00 out of my account. But they will not put it back in my acct.

I signed up with Classmates.com yesterday, and I realize today that it is a terrible scam. I paid $39, which it seems will be renewed at the end of a year, whether I want it or not. The complaints about Classmates.com seem to be flooding your website. What are you doing about it? I expected to find out where some of my old classmates live--specifically, not the same general map for everyone. Not one of the people that they name has offered a story, not one has sent a picture. In other words, they have listed names without any information about these people. This scam needs to be exposed before other innocents get trapped. Please respond.

I signed up for a 3-month membership and my checking account was debited immediately for $15.00. I have never been able to access the site. When I emailed them, they responded back by saying I had a one-week free membership. Numerous attempts to get a phone number, live person, money refunded, have been unsuccessful. They just keep sending the same computer generated response that doesn't apply to my situation. If you are thinking about signing up for Classmates.com, DON'T! This is a scam and after reading other consumer complaints, it is impossible to cancel your membership once they have your bank information.

I signed up for Classmates.com 1 year ago when I moved back to the city. Since then I think I have logged in 2 times. I got charged on 10/6/08 $39 for another year. I emailed Classmates and said I did not want this and to cancel. They pretty much told me too bad. I guess when you sign up they automatically sign you up for auto renewal at the end of your term. You have to go in and change this after the sign up process, if you don't they keep charging you. They give no notice at the end of your term that a new charge is coming. The only reason I know is because I looked at my credit card statement. I wonder how many people don't do this and keep getting charged once a year.

Classmates charged me via my credit card for another year's subscription without any notification. Now they are not accepting my User Name so I can't access my account, or tell them I want to cancel.

I have a paid up membership with the above named entity until 11/16/08.. I'VE ENJOYED my membership with them for almost a year now. BUT now I'm having problems.. I get their e-mail notices regularly that I have had visitors sign my membership register ---however when I try to go to my home page or any part of their information notices, My computer screen goes to a LOG-IN screen - never fails -- then I enter my reg # and Password and click save password, etc., The screen changes and I select my home page - or any other portion in the screen and nothing happens except to send me back again to the LOG-IN SCREEN THAT I JUST COMPLETED AND SELECTED TO BE SAVED... NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I FILL IN THAT INFORMATION AND TRY TO SAVE IT AND ENTER IT - IT DOES NOT WORK...

My wife like many others did not ask to be billed automatically when she signed up, but was anyway. Their phone number was hard to find and not on the credit statement as someone suggested. So for others who wish to contact them directly and cancel that feature, it is 425-873-1342

Signed up for 3 months service for $15.00 and found out after the 3 months were up took another $15.00 without authorization from me not even an email stating my 3 months are up. I didn't even really use the service just curious and just wanted it for 3 months. If the people I went to high school with didn't like me then why would they like me Now?????

Classmates.com is trying to get more money than they have been permitted to do so. I have initially joined the Gold program and paid $15 for 3 months. That was back in July 2008. As of October 12, 2008, they are trying to withdraw another $15. There is no phone # listed for Classmates.com. This is very interesting. But I contacted my bank and they will be disputing this transaction.

Classmates took unauthorized money from my account when I only subscribed to 3 months. Anyone have a full phone number to contact them? This has to be against the law what they are doing to so many people. Is there a lawyer out there that can help us?

I just joined Classmates.com, hope to rekindle some conversations with old school friends, as I miss the area I grew up in (didn't even know they have a dating section-news to me-). I can't even get in, after paying the 15.00 gold for 3 months. Site keeps telling me to update to gold which I did, and they got their money, immediately as I use debit, never credit cards, to purchase online. Site has no ph # so went to Google and plugged in situation and this site came up. So glad I read it. I honestly thing hackers took over the site and are getting all the money, as I once joined years ago and had no problems at all.

I signed up for the free trial. I went to cancel on the last day of my free trial and they told me it was too late. I did not want the service in the first place. Now a year later, they charge my card again without my permission. I don't even use their site at all. They are refusing to refund me yet again. What a rip off.

They took money from my debit card without authorization. I had only signed with them for three months a year ago and did not request any further service. All I want is for them to return the funds they withdrew for unwanted service.

Joined Classmates.com for one year expecting a charge of $15. $95 and two additional $19.95 for a feature I did not order and didn't want. I called the phone number on my account statement and demanded the two $19.95 charges be reimbursed. They agreed. I now want to cancel membership to Classmates.com and Reunion.com. I searched for my cousin Howard **, somehow they picked up on it. They thought I was Howard **, in the meantime I found out my cousin was dead. I just got an e-mail from them listing me as Howard ** in their classmate's section for my school. Well, Howard is dead, I'm not him, I'm not him and I want his name taken off their list.

I wrote several months ago and requested that my membership be discontinued... I am still receiving bills from Visa. Please STOP billing Visa and discontinue my membership with classmates.com. I would appreciate this. Thank you.

This is a scam company - charging my account without permission. I had signed up for a trial period and paid for that, but did not authorize a continuing membership. There is no way to reach anyone ever.

I took access to the American Express Blue card when I was trying to get access to who access my profile, etc. on Classmates.com. Unfortunately, the free access turned out to be to Reunion. I sent an email to (I thought) Classmates. If you are not going to let me access those who accessed my profile, I am going to cancel the American Express card. Please send me an email that lets me know if I can access those who access my profile in Classmates. Thanks.

I signed up for 3 months service ($15.00) at Classmates.com in June 2008. When I received my September statement from my credit card company, Classmates had charged me with another $15. I contacted Classmates and was told that I had agreed to this. I did not knowingly agree - it must have been in the small print. She would not reverse the charges and told me I had use of Classmates.com until 12/3/08. Lucky me. I told her to change my status so I would not be billed AGAIN. I went online and checked and she had changed the status to manual instead of automatic. I removed my credit card number from their system.

I signed up for the 7 day free trial with plans to cancel prior to being billed. However, when I checked my credit card account, I was billed $39.00 on the fifth day of the 7 day free trial.

I am showing up on a google search as being a member of classmates.com. My school and years attended are listed publicly and I don't know what other information is accessible by members. I have tried to contact them to cancel but the only way to do so is to log in, which I obviously can't do as I never registered. There is no link on their site for any contact whatsoever. There is no topic in the help directory that addresses this issue. They say they send periodic emails to memebers to confirm membership status, obviously this doesn't happen as from what I have been told I have been registered there for some time now, approx 8 years. I am very frustrated with the inability to do anything about this.

Went round and round the website trying to log on, get password, cancel membership, etc. Then I found this forum and wanted to share the following: 1) Call your bank and have them place a stop payment on this merchant. This can cost $30 and only lasts 6 months, but my bank waived the fee; 2) Call the number on your credit card receipt which, I believe by law must be printed with notice of the charge.

I paid there fee to upgrade and it hasn't happened - they provide no telephone numbers for us to get in touch with them. They took my money and gave me no service for it -

I have been trying to reach someone via the phone since June '08 so I could enroll into the Gold membership for three months only. I saw online that you could not enroll without automatically being charged again upon expiration. I wanted to do it live via phone so I would not be re-enrolled after expiration. I am planning a class reunion party so I wanted to use this tool very much. Well, after trying for a solid three months to reach someone live, I FINALLY GIVE UP. God forbid anyone who gives this site their credit card number...I have a feeling something shady is going on at Classmates.com now.

I have never used Classmates.com and have never signed up on the site. I dont' have an active membership, and I have never so much even browsed there out of curiosity. HOWEVER, I received the e-mail (this is one of many) classmates.com. I am seriously concerned that the website is being used for phishing and that my identity has been stolen. Somebody is using my stolen e-mail and identity. I have not received a response back from classmates.com. I don't have access to their member support features because I never have been and never will be a member of their site. I have found one contact e-mail and one information form and have submitted a message similar to this on both.

I have tried for many months to get my name off the Classmates.com mailing list. I try & try to Unsubscribe from their list. To no avail. Please help me Unsubscribe from Classmates.com. I get Spam from them everyday. I don't want it anymore. I never paid a menmbership fee of any kind.

I paid for a two year membership to classmates.com ($59) and then i got two charges from a TLG (12.99) on my credit card. I contacted my CC company and informed them of this transaction and they will credit the amounts back to my account. It was discovered that these were fraud transactions against my accounts.

Your add that says Do you know what people call you. Ussually with deals mean and unkind things people say about others. Sometimes labling and using that for reason to getting extreamly violent towards others. I am one of those victems that endured 8yrs of torture, beetings, constant harrasment, brain washing, and programing. First by family,then by schools and after all of that the police department.

When a renewal of membership was automatically placed on my credit card, I sent an email asking why. The automated response was basically that I had agreed to this annualy and for eternity without any prior notification. They directed me to open my account on their website and remove the membership buy the $59 payment was theirs.

I was using their free membership. They somehow captured my debit card information, which I have NEVER provided to them, and charged me $15 without my authorization. I was a member for 2 years and didn't find any advantage of being a member so I cancelled. I couldn't remember my username and password and I could not find anything on the website. No number, email, chat....nothing but FAQs that didn't address the issue of not remembering my username and password and wanting to cancel member.

After purchasing a silver package membership a charge was found on my bank statement from COMPLETE HOME. The emaul address does not match mine but it had my mothers maiden name provided at enrollment. I have cancelled Classsmates and have been credited the charges from Complete Home.

after joining classmate.com on jul 22nd 08, i emailed 5 former classmates. not only did i not hear back from them, they never even opened the mail i sent. i knew i made a mistake right then by joining. i emailed classmates only to be told to give it a couple of days.

Under the charge for classmates it will list a phone number for classmates. Please post this so the ones who do not want classmates can cancel. Classmates.com My class reunion is next year, so I got an e-mail from classmates.com saying the president of my class had signed up -- they gave his name -- and that he was trying to find everyone. I thought this was feasible and also sounded likefun getting in contact with everyone. WHAT A MAJOR MISTAKE The moment I put in my credit card number I was forwarded to a singles site, then to an AIM site, then advertising about how to get my classmates to pay my mortgage -- etc.

couldn't find a phone number for Classmates.com, I had 3 profiles on the website for some reason and wanted them all deleted. Scrolled through all the complainst you guys have posted, and found the phone number 425-. Just called it, talked to a nice lady, she deleted the 3 profiles, I double checked on the website while talking to her and tada. it's done.

I tried out classmates for a week . I had taken a 3 month subscription/I called to cancel and my credit card was credited in 2 days. I received my $15 back..No trouble cancelling.To call them their phone number is 1-425- I had no trouble with them.

I became a member of classmates.com approximately two years ago. I was under the belief that in order for me to renew my membership, I would have to resubmit a request. There was no online script that prevented me from proceeding with my order receiving my permission to automatically charge me.

A former student from [my] High School enter onto the web site and posted 3 messages reporting a fight I had with other U.S. Marines. She copied the info from [a] Website, I did not give her permission to use that data. I reported it to Classmates.com and did not remove it, rather they removed me from the membership status. I ordered a 1-time trial membership to their classmates searching services. 1 year later, (6/17/08) they automatically took another $39.00 out of my account. There is no wat to contact them. They will not remove me, my account info nor my bank info from their records. I want: 1) my money back. 2) my account closed immediately, 3) all my information removed from their computers.

I was organizing my 10-year and I signed up for a Gold Membership for $12.99 for three months. It turned out that if you read the fine print: It is actually $12.99 for EACH month. Plus, they assume you will want to renew every three months, and sign you up for a year! After that year, you are also automatcially renewed to continue.

I thought I was done with classmates.com years ago, but today I realized that they weren't done with me. I found that they have been charging me for a gold membership at $15.00 every three months, and that has been going on for at least two cycles and possibly much more. I did not ever agree with paying a fee for being able to search for classmates and don't every remember authorizing it.

I too was a sucker for the ol' autorenewal routine with the goldmember trial, although my losses are not quite as bad as previous entrants.

I received a bill for renewal of this account, which I rarely use. I have tried to cancel membership, but I must logon in order to do that. I am told I must log on and change billing option to manual. But I cannot lwith the information I am sent. I have tried for two days now and am completely frustrated. There is not phone number to contact anyone.

My complaint is the same as all the rest you see here. I authorized a ONE TIME PAYMENT of $15 from my checking account, and they continued to withdraw money every three months. I DID NOT authorize these transactions, and to top it all there is no contact information on the sight to cancel.

Since I did not authorize the renewal, I emailed Classmate's customer service, relayig the fact that I did not wish to renew, nor did I request to renew my membership. A few minutes later, I received a response stating that there was wording above the Pay button when I initially joined, stating that I would automatically renew the membership. If this was the case, I would have gotten a membership here. Since I couldn't get any further with Classmates, I contacted my bank to dispute the charge.

I seem to have the same complaint as everyone else here! I discovered today that they had taken out $39.00 from my checking account for a renewal that I never initiated or OK'ed.

It is not user friendly AT ALL, can't send a message, the pictures are so small you can't even make them out, and theres absolutely no way to enlarge them so why even have them on there at all?
