Purchased 2015 Norton security software for 5 devices. After countless efforts to get live updates on my laptops, it will not install. The Norton customer support staff are located in India. I let the tech staff on two occasions try to resolve the problem remotely for hours, only for the problem to persist. I am extremely concerned now that the hours remotely used to access my computer were not used to fix my computer. Since my other laptop now has the same problem, I will never purchase a product that is using non-US support. Only God and the Norton techs know What they did during the hours of access to my still non-operating Norton security software on my laptop. Extremely concerned, so should you be! I have since uninstalled this crapware and installed Microsoft essentials.

I had Norton 2007 but wasn't happy with it. Advised to upgrade to Norton 360. I did that but then encountered huge problems. I was actually stopped from accessing the internet. I was advised that I had to PAY more money to resolve this issue in the context of buying more subscriptions. I had already spent up to $1,000 to Norton. I did contact my consumer protection in Western Australia and they advised that because Norton was an international company and not 'resident' in Australia, they could not help. Well even though Australian Law is totally weak, I suggest each person on this forum get together and we seek a class action against Norton. Not to make money, but to shut them down and demonstrate that if you provide a product then you jolly well need to make sure you stand by that product. Any damage your product does can't be ignored and you will be held accountable.

I have had Norton products like Norton 360 for over 12 years. It was a good product at a fair price until now. It has cost about $35 a year until they dropped Norton 360, changed the name to Internet Security with backup and raised the price to $70!!!!! TurboTax tried the same thing, realized their mistake, backed off, gave a rebate and went back to the old product. Norton is pulling money grab, pure and simple but they will lose this customer!

When I downloaded Norton 360, I got an 'interference notice'. I called Norton. They said to ignore it. I did. What I estimate to be after the expiration of the return policy, my computer would not work normally and was interfering with my McAfee that I had on the computer before downloading Norton. Attempts to rectify it was in vain of asking them to remove it. They did. I disputed the transaction on my credit card. The bank, mailed me a letter with four days' notice for response asking that I return it to them with the cancellation date, the person I talked to, the cancellation policy and any letters I wrote and the company's response.

I entered a chat room with Norton in response to my bank (Bank of America--but that is another story) and attempted to get from them the required materials. They noted immediately that this was what banks ask for a dispute. They said (erroneously) that the bank had disputed the charge and reinstated it. I corrected them on the matter and said that it was still outstanding. Instead of providing me with the information I requested which they had, they attempted to get me to buy the program. When I pointed out that I still had another year of McAfee, they offered a second year but no price. I reminded them that I didn't know the comparison of the two programs, told them I would sleep on it.

I asked for a copy of the chat session. They said they would send it to me. I knew that without a date/time stamp anything I copied from the screen was useless. The icon to send it to me did not send it to my email address nor did they send it to me as requested. I am out $53.61 for Norton 360. Stay away from them. I will send a letter to FTC and FCC. And the bank (Bank of America)? How do they get off giving someone 4 days to respond lest they drop the matter? I will return the letter by fax declaring I still dispute the charge but can't get the information from the company.

Every year when close to time of renewal, Norton creates problems on my internet, like removing my default Google search screen and replacing it with theirs and saying that they had to do that to protect my computer. I am sick of this game they play - they create the problems on my computer in order to compel me to renew their antivirus program. If they continue to play these unethical games, I will be renewing my antivirus program, but DEFINITELY NOT WITH NORTON SO TAKE HEED NORTON - LIFT YOUR GAME!

In Dec. 2014 Comcast & Norton try to generate more $$$ just before the holidays. I was composing mail. Suddenly this warning with a count down pop up telling me that my session was to end in 30 seconds. Then I was signed out of Cmast, over & over. I got very concern. I called Cmast. She said I had a virus. I told her to stop trying to sell, fix the problem I'm paying to have full coverage from Norton, when I refused she said only Norton can fix it.

Norton said they would give me the so-called "free 30 day" protection but i had to pay $5.99 per month to stay covered. They could not add it to my Cmast bill. I had to pay with credit card & I had to fill the form while on phone. Scared & frustrated i gave in their Fear-Mongering. I proceed to complete that form after i hung up. Among other questions, they were asking if I own a house & who held the Mortgage. What did they want to know that? So I stop filling the form. I Run Full Scan -- there were No Threats!! To my shock & amazement next day I received an email telling me that I did not complete the form & they were going to mail it to me! How did they know i did not complete the form?

Next day I call Norton. I told them to credit my CC immediately and to remove this FAKE VIRUS, and that i know this Comcast trying to generate more $$$$! Amazingly enough, the FEAR-MONGERING warning was gone, my PC & Comcast Email was good! So here we go again, more Fear-mongering. Norton is asking me to reset my home page, click reset or learn more. Of course reset does Not work, only the learn more, and there it is again. I have to buy Norton's $5.99 per month monitoring in order to remove their New Soliciting & Intrusion of Privacy Fake Threat. I run a full scan -- there No threats! I'm Disgusted with their Greedy Unethical Practice & i record them in Dec. & i will again! Dear FCC, please Stop these Scammers!

I said, "Why?" They said, "You can not use it on your pc." This person was rude as hell. I told them what I was instructed from this pc shop. I build repair computers all the time so I know what I'm doing. Norton told me out straight "you should of contacted us before you installed Windows." I told them I did before. All I got was grief. So as frustrating I was I removed it all of this pc now. Installed something from Microsoft for free. Their excuse is that not every product guaranteed. I've been a customer of Norton for many years and have generally had good experience. That is until this week when I discovered how weak and useless their software really is. For my part I should have tested their stuff more thoroughly, I should have made redundant backups, and I should have verified the backups on another machine. If I had I would have discovered that Norton Backup Software is worthless in a crunch. And I would have discovered they cannot protect your valuable data. But, I didn't do those things. I believed the software when it said your backup/s completed successfully and your data is safe. They lied.

Fortunately, there is this website to voice and publish the bad things that happen to consumers. My attempt to contact the Dept. of Consumer Affairs here in California was worthless because they have no jurisdiction. When I called them and asked about what jurisdiction they do have, the rep. paused a long time and finally said "...we can help with automotive repair complaints." When I reminded them that that kind of complaint is handled by Dept. of Automotive Repairs, they said "Oh yeah, that's right." I never got another example.

But, this isn't about the worthless and dysfunctional bureaucracy here in California. It is about Symantec and all the other shameful companies that do business without much regard for consumer satisfaction, much less protection. So, my warning is to stay away from Norton products if you value your data. Mine was totally lost.

When I called to ask about the fee, they said I approved of this transaction in 2012. After a long argument with the associate "Dustin" explained that I signed up for this deduction in perpetuity. Since I have never seen this fee deducted from my account before, I assured him I did NOT agree to give Norton this money and he agreed to stop the transaction. It went through at the same time I was speaking to him on the phone yesterday January 28, 2015 at around 1:00 PM, ET. How do they not even have an option for me to click and consent to them re-charging for a computer that I don't even have anymore because it has not worked in the last three years? Once charged automatically without me knowing - shame on me. The last year - shame on them. This year I finally noticed. Yes of course, partially my fault but I had no clue and all I asked for was a refund on last year and the present year. And to top it all off, the guy on the phone was incredibly rude and so damn persistent. He would not let me talk to someone else...we were on the phone for 5 minutes in silence. Anyone else have this issue?

The old (3 PCs) Norton Internet Security was expiring and the ads for the new Norton Security appeared to imply it would work with iOS devices as well as PCs and android devices. Since we were concerned about accessing potentially dangerous websites on the IPad, as well as desiring email security scanning, we decided to pony up more money for the 10 device version since we were adding potentially an IPad and 2 IPhones. I might add that I did discuss these added Apple devices by phone with a Norton agent prior to ordering and not once did the agent state that Norton Security does not work with IPad or IPhone.

Needless to say when I tried to download the program to the IPad, all that was available was an APP for Norton Mobile Security with Phone finder service and Contacts backup, BOTH OF WHICH ARE ALREADY PROVIDED BY APPLE. I feel Norton completely misrepresented their product by implying it worked with iOS devices.

I called Norton Antivirus after looking at past credit card statements and realized they have been billing me for years. The computer I downloaded it on stopped working years ago and the credit card has expired since then. Customer support told me that they updated my credit card info through some visa database without my consent and were sending bill confirmations to a closed email account. Manager gave me an attitude and told me that I need to notice the charges and they have no duty to notify me in any way, as they don't receive a kickback email from an invalid email address.

I told them that this is no way to conduct business and they should have reached out to someone when they realized the product was not being used. He yelled at me and told me that I should call my credit card company because Norton will not give a refund and I need to check my statements and implied that I am the one who is too dumb not to notice the charge. Horrible attitude for a manager. I called my credit card company to block them from any future charges. How can a company charge someone for a product or service that was not used? How can a manager speak to a customer in this way?

I've read a lot of one star reviews for Norton. Vast majority of them are complaining that when called Norton about their acct that there were added charges for virus removal. The mistake most of them are making is going online to contact Norton sites that will give you not the number for Norton but the number for a third party which may be able to install Norton but what they are actually a third party tech support companies that want you to pay for tech support to remove the virus and sell your tech support for up to $1,499. This is not Norton. It cost me $49 yearly for virus protection and virus removal if I get any. This charge doesn't include backup that would be another $40 yearly.

I've had this run in with these third party tech support twice. Finally when I did get Norton’s number they took care of my problem 100% at no added cost. I've been told by many there is no way to block all malware nowadays. Viruses are too sophisticated nowadays. But Norton will remove the viruses even if it would be every day at no added cost. Had to respond because when I read this reviews it was exactly my experiences with this horrible third party tech supports. Once you purchase Norton there is no added charges. If you run into that then it's not Norton. Also as Norton told me they will never call me neither will Microsoft unless I schedule it.

About a week ago, I noticed that a Trojan virus was continuously being blocked by Norton - my laptop was working - just a little sluggish. I was worried that a virus could possibly get through - so I got on Norton Live Chat and asked for a tune-up. The Norton guy connected remotely, then rebooted. As he finished, we got disconnected. He had my phone number, I waited for him to call back - he didn't. After several more phone calls to Norton (and having them disconnect me several times) and their attempts to fix what he had done - they said that it must be "coincidence" that I just happened to lose my internet at the same time he was trying to "help". Norton suggested I call Comcast/Xfinity. The Comcast tech just left - said it was a Norton issue. I called Norton - they say it is an Xfinity issue. I have to pay for a Comcast visit myself. Norton said they can't help until I get my internet back. Comcast/Xfinity says it's working fine on their end. They tell me I'll have to call "Geek Squad". I know they are very expensive. So because I asked Norton Live Chat for a tune-up, I am out a computer (no Windows either - but I can still play Solitaire!) and must pay for the Comcast visit and a possible Geek Squad repair. My LIFE is on that computer. Thanks Norton!

I needed help because my laptop was sending pop up error messages and computer was freezing up or running slow. I called number for Norton 360 that was listed when opening the norton icon on my desktop. The man who answered said they were not able to fix the problem but would connect me to their third party tech who could remote in to my laptop and fix it. He said norton did not remote in to fix problems. So I said yes and he connected me to the tech support. They said it would cost me money for one time fix but offered a three year, 24/7 help, with an instant access icon on my screen (which showed up as CTS help desk). It cost $499.99 for three years help with Everything! Even doing updates and checking for viruses at any time I contacted them. They DID fix my laptop. As they were chatting on my screen while removing Trojan viruses I asked why norton 360 didn't prevent me from getting the viruses in the first place when I paid good money for a yearly subscription. They said they are not allowed to comment on other products.

I received a call from somebody from Norton a day later to see if the problem was resolved and could they close the case. I said yes. That date I was connected by norton was July 2, 2014. I used the instant access button one other time since then and they made my slow computer faster. And they did updates and said I had no viruses. Sounds good, but two days ago I was having a problem with my laptop slowing down and decided to call Norton 360 instead of using the icon on my computer. I figured I would not only ask for their help, but also ask why I was having to pay their contracted tech support to help me when I already paid for norton, and why wasn't I being protected from viruses by norton in the first place. I opened a chat window that norton initiated, and typed in my problem as they directed. Somehow we were disconnected and I had no time to reconnect.

Today, about two days since my disconnected chat, I get a call from norton asking if the problem was fixed and could they close the case. I said, "no it was not fixed due to being disconnected." She then initiated a chat on my desktop just like the previous two times, and asked if she could remote in to check my computer. I said yes, and while I had her on the phone I asked her why they didn't remote in and fix my problem back in July since the rep in July said they couldn't do it. She said she would check my computer to trace that contact and its case number. She could find No case number for July 2, 2014. She implied I must have contacted an outside company myself to fix my computer. I said "no, it was norton who connected me. They stayed on the phone with me and said I would see a new chat box come up, and that person would be able to help me".. ... so this woman with norton said she had never heard of that happening before and she could find no case number. I said "if I didn't actually talk to a norton rep That day then why were they following up to see if the problem was resolved, just like you are doing today? That is your policy, right?" She said yes. She then said she would send this case to their security dept to look into it.

I said that I sure hoped they could find record of my call that day or they aren't as good as they say they are, nor are they the company I will put my trust in to protect my computer. I think they have an internal thief who is doing this and erasing the case number and must be getting kickbacks for sending norton customers to this tech company which shows up on my credit card statement as "computer support", and phone number is 1-888-258-8478. I am out $500! My credit card company (bank of America) says I willingly paid for it and used the service, therefore they will not reimburse me. Has anybody had a similar incident with Norton 360? This company is awful. I started the anti virus plan several years ago with auto pay. I wanted to cancel it this year. Since I did not have the same e-mail address there was no way they could cancel it (this is what they said). My husband tried again today and we were put on with some retention person/salesman who kept us on the phone for over an hour trying to sell us monthly servicing for $500 a year. He went on and on and on about what was wrong with our computer.

At the end we said no, we do not want that. I told him I WANT TO CANCEL and he said, "Oh I can't do that because you have so many problems with your computer it would be my fault." I literally started screaming at him at the top of my lungs. I was so frustrated. While he was remotely checking my computer he then checked my husband's computer and now his computer is not working and he's been on the phone with Norton again to try to get them to fix what they screwed up on his computer.

Luckily I kept my info on auto pay and called my credit card and cancelled the auto payment. I cannot recommend this company or their business model. They are the worst company I have ever, ever dealt with. They want to retain, but upsell you and there is not even a way to send an e-mail to them that I could find. Use another program.

Next if that don't work, they shut down your computer and you call Norton and are told they can fix it fast for 99.99 - 7 day warranty on the work. The 8th day you get a call again, telling you that you have been hacked again. The same people who work on fixing a problem are the same ones who mess you up. I was told that by a worker and if they don't do what they are told to do, they are fired. Now I don't know about Comcast. But greed are killing them also.

I was having trouble renewing Norton Anti-Virus so I called the support number on the product. I got someone on the phone with a strong accent to help and at some point, they asked if I wanted a support plan. I was having a lot of computer issues at that time and thinking that might be a good thing, so I purchased a support plan for 2 computers for $269 for 1 year of support, thinking this was part of Symantec. They then mentioned that they are not Norton and use a different anti-virus program and I wondered how I got these people on the line when I called for help with Norton anti-virus. Pretty scary that I thought I was dealing with a company affiliated with Symantec and purchased it.

After a few months, I cancelled the plan and quit dealing with them. Never got much help with anything and was worried they were hurting the computer rather than helping. My mistake -- should not have paid it. I should have canceled right away and gotten back from my credit card company. Now over a year later they called offering a refund but to get it I have to click to download a file and it is an executable which I am to click to connect to their bank and get my money back.

I'd love to get the money back, but I am not clicking on the executable file. How did my Norton anti-virus product hook me up with this separate company, Complete tech support, and cause me to waste this money. Next computer I got at Best Buy and got Geek Squad which has been pretty good for the most part. Unfortunately, I have gotten many calls from these guys harassing me and I can't get them off the phone. They are offering me this or that and I've told them over and over to take me off their list. They told me they are being made by someone to give refunds to everyone.

When clicking on the program icon, it went nowhere. So, I contacted Norton. They asked for permission to go into my computer to see what the problem was. I said ok. The first time they did this, it went ok. However, after the reinstall was completed I still could not access the program. So, I called back. This time a tech named Ritesh accessed my computer. After an hour of him messing around, I started noticing things that were downloaded - malware - by him. Then he went into my Add Remove Programs and started to delete programs there. I did an emergency lock down of my computer, which he managed to override. I had to manually shut down my computer.

I am in the process of recovering what he deleted and deleting the things he added. I called Norton about it and explained to the tech what had happened and gave the name of the tech that invaded my computer. 45 minutes later I am still on hold for a supervisor. That's over 3 hours with Norton. I don't know who to contact now. He did not have permission to delete or add programs from my computer. I left the session transcript up on my computer in case the supervisor needed to know what it says. Even now that tech is trying to get me to reestablish a connection even though it states I revoked all permissions. DO NOT TRUST THEM TO DO ANYTHING WITH YOUR COMPUTER!

I have always used Norton Internet Security. This year it came with a backup option. I didn't want to use it but it kept asking to setup an account with the only option being "no" but "no, don't ask me again." It kept stopping my work or game to remind me to backup. After 7 months, I figured out how to remove it. Since first installation of Norton Security, I keep getting error notices and Norton is trying to fix it, then it can't fix it, go to support and there you read download the eraser or removal tool. I do not have fast speed connection available and that is very time consuming. Then you need to reinstall your software.

Tonight I got an error for the third time. I decided to have a chat session. It finally ended up with the support guy saying he wanted to go to safe mode to find the problem. He starts safe mode and then we have lost connection. But I cannot connect to the internet when I am in safe mode, so no way to chat. I shut down and restart and I'm still in safe mode. Several attempts and still in safe mode. Luckily I have a smartphone and so I went to support online. Tried for a chat support and finally they cut me off and said try later.

I found the contact phone number and waited forever and finally spoke with a guy who, you guessed it, an accent. He asked me something which I couldn't understand. Then he says, "You don't know what operation system you're using?" I said yes, "Vista". With that he walked me through how to get back to the regular Vista system. I'm back where I started. Do I still have a threat? I don't know, but I think having a chat tech getting access to your computer can be a security risk!

I hope this review might spare someone the experience I have had. If you give your access to a tech, NEVER let him or her GO TO SAFE MODE unless you know you can connect to your server in safe mode. When Norton expires, I will be getting different security software. They were a good company. If they are this busy in the wee hours of the morning, they need to hire more help. In hindsight, I should have said no and ended the session. He had the error number so why did he need to use safe mode?

It turned out to be a hardware issue, whereby the tech assured me they would cancel and immediately refund my charge. He told me he needed to transfer me to the billing dept where I held for over 135 minutes! Without success, I hung up and decided to try at a later date. Nobody will tell you that: a) the number listed on your bank charges is a totally different department that does not handle billing, let alone refunds and customer service issues, b) that once you call, you must be transferred to, at least, 5 different toll free numbers to reach the correct NORTON LIVE Billing and Refund department, aka Customer Relations Dept at 877-788-4877.

BEWARE, this is the ONLY number you need to call in order to request a refund if you have a NORTON LIVE subscription that charges you $89.98 upfront, then $19.99 per month - do they display this anywhere? Do they inform anyone of that? Absolutely NOT. I had to find that out over a 5-month span of unsuccessfully sitting on hold for hours on end, being transferred to bogus departments that tell you they escalated your issue but NOBODY ever calls you back.

    1) Call 877-788-4877. 2) Request Customer relations dept. 3) Document the name of the person. 4) Demand a CASE # that NOBODY will offer to provide you unless you ask for it and that is the ONLY way to ensure that your case is documented and actually escalated. 5) Only after 58 minutes of arguing, was I able to obtain one month's worth of refund, with the rest being 'escalated for review' again, whatever that may mean. 6) Demand a cancellation confirmation number, not to be confused with the case number!!!

After I informed support that I refused to pay for Norton's failure, the games began. I spent over 4 hours on the phone waiting on hold, and disagreeing with customer service and tech support. They kept me on hold once for 1 hour before I hung up. They disconnected my call; they transferred me around from one department to another. I talked to over 7 people to no positive outcome or understanding. In order to discourage me, they kept giving me the runaround. Because of Norton's negligence I had to spend $149 and hours of down time removing the virus. I went to an outside company. I refused to let Norton profit from their negligence. I will never use another Symantec product again and will inform everyone I know about their shoddy product and poor customer support. Sometimes companies get too big and forget the importance of customer support.

There was no reason to do that! There were plenty of other log-ins he could have chose! When I saw he was trying to log in to my bank, I quickly cancelled the remote session!

I called to complain and the girl argued that he did not do that! I WATCHED HIM DO IT!!!!! She in turn told me that he did not. I contacted Norton tech support since my Norton antivirus wouldn't run, **. I thought maybe I had a virus that disabled Norton. The representative uninstalled it and said that someone would call me back in a couple of hours. Then Norton Tech support did call back. They attached remotely to my computer and looked things over. They said that I didn't have a virus but rather an 'infection' that went undetected by Norton. They brought up a screen that showed foreign entities attached to my computer, languages, etc. Then went on to say that I needed to pay them to fix this (even though they uninstalled Norton to begin with).

I agreed to the $199.00 because of all the foreign entities that they showed me were attached to my computer. They then: reinstalled Norton (I could have done this myself but it was Norton support that uninstalled it), downloaded FREE Malwarebytes and ran that (I could have done this), downloaded FREE AdwCleaner and ran that (I could have done this). They then told me they were finished. WHAT!!

I then asked for them to show me the screen that they previously showed me with the foreign entities that had attached to my computer. They admitted it was a SIMULATION... not a real example of what was going on with my computer. It was FAKE! What I found out was that after the initial call to Norton, it was Advantedge Corp in India that called me back. Technical Support: 1-877-629-1001; Customer Service: 1-888-809-5256; Email Support: support@techvantedge.com. Norton claims not to be associated with them; however, they are partnering. I've had Norton 360 security suite since 2010. I paid extra for more space for backup. Since then I purchased hard drive storage and did a backup of both my laptops and let my Norton expire in the fall 2013 because I picked up the free Norton 360 with Comcast that doesn't offer backup. Well I need the backed up files from Norton from 2013 now so I called Norton.

First I was answered in India then transferred back to the states to a tech that I allowed to log on to my laptop. He said he could help me but first wanted to check my Norton account. It listed like 3 that were expired. The last one I did let expire as I told him and why. He said he could get my backed up files for me and watched him check for all the alerts and errors listed on my Norton Account. He tried to tell me that there were far too many, that it wasn't right. Now I'm really waiting for the BS because I know that's just a checklist of all the warnings given by Norton when you are going to open or download something. So he checked my task manager and asked if I recognized csrss.exe. Problem is I do for some reason but can't remember. He says there are no root files for it or paths or anything to identify it and he is suspicious. So the tech Googled it so I could see that the first search says it's a Trojan used by hackers.

He went into a big warning speech that it's really bad but I check my accounts, my credit all the time and hey I have Norton. He said it was serious and will talk with his supervisor. When he returned he said they ran a diagnostic and it was only 67% infected but will take them 2 hours or more to go in and remove the virus without damaging the system. Norton would also install anti-hacking tools so this never happens again for $299.99. Well, I didn't do it. I said Norton shouldn't have allowed it in the first place, and all I wanted was my backed up files. He said, "But mam we first have to secure your system and then we can download your files." So two times I was told they can indeed give me my backed up files somehow. But I didn't get them. They're being held for ransom it seems.

I opened task manager in the meantime and realize why I remember csrss.exe--BECAUSE IT'S PART OF WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM and said so. I never got the chance to look. Now csrss.exe is a Trojan but only if csrss.exe is on there and not part of a SYSTEM folder. Big alert for this! As far as I'm concerned this was an attempt at fraud by Norton and to some extent scaring someone to fork over money is extortion. Norton's tech support and practices should be looked into.

Last year we told them, the computer in question was taken to the dump several years ago - so, really, the auto-renew has been unnecessary for at least 3 years, and we got rid of that computer because Norton couldn't keep it virus free. So, Norton is now the virus. Terrible product, only way they can make money is by fraudulently keeping the auto-renew going, in spite of repeated requests/threats/warnings to stop. Thieves.

I contacted Norton, they blamed it on my computer, and refused to repair it. My Norton subscription expired yesterday, so I bought/installed a Webroot Secure Anywhere disk for $19.99 (for 3 computers), as opposed to the $60 I shelled out for Norton. I am writing this for my 78-year-old mother. She buys a package deal every year where she can get virus protection for herself and my brother and I. Last year when she gave the key code to me so that I could subscribe for another year and I went online to do so, it asked me to register my email and create a password. I didn't remember ever having to do this before but I figured it was just something new to make subscribing just a little more time consuming. This year my mother called me with the key code and I subscribed again for another year. It never asked me for the above information.

When my elderly mother tried to subscribe, she couldn't access it because the account was now in MY name and I was asleep when she tried this so she couldn't contact me. She panicked and called Norton support. They told her that they had to access her computer to resolve the issue. The tech was in India or some godforsaken part of the world, and my mother was immediately upset because she was having trouble understanding her. The tech convinced her to let her access the computer and suddenly everything went haywire! The tech told her that she had several viruses and in order for her to fix it, she needed to let them charge her credit card $130 or her computer would crash.

My mother argued that she should NOT have any viruses because she has had Norton protection consistently for years. She believed that they were now trying to sell her something that she didn't need. Finally, after the tech kept telling her if she did not pay and allow her to fix the issues with my mother's computer, the computer would crash, my mom conceded and paid the money. She tells me that she was afraid that if she didn't, even if there weren't any viruses that this woman on the other line now had access to her computer and that she would SEND a virus if she didn't pay.

Again, I am talking about a Senior Citizen, living alone, not very computer savvy but she does okay, and 4 hours and $130 later, Norton fixed the alleged issues, issues that my mother never had a problem with until they accessed her computer. She also lost a lot of information and programs when they "fixed" her computer. This experience is absolutely reprehensible. I am in shock that a worldwide, well-known and trusted company such as Norton could BULLY an old woman into spending $130 after she has been a repeat customer of theirs for years. And if she really DID have viruses, I guess Norton isn't working after all and not worth buying. We will NOT be subscribing next year.

I had a subscription to PC Tools internet security and Norton took that program over from PC Tools. They offered me to go over to their internet security while my subscription ran out along with a reduction cut on renewal charges. Every thing went good except for a nag that kept popping up, that it was trying to renew subscription and the (old payment options were not working). A few years back I had antivirus programs and Norton 360 which I didn't like. I also wanted to make sure I received renewal discount they offered me at expiration of old PC Tools subscription.

Anyway I renewed my subscription - and that was when everything hit the fan. The program quit working right and seemed to be jamming everything up and finally crashed my computer. Well I re-installed Windows XP and with a fresh uncontaminated install including a new copy of Norton internet security. I believe Norton was contributing to my problems if not the problem. I had no less than 4 remote sessions with Norton with no repair satisfaction. They would come over and browse the computer and point this out and that out that had nothing to do with the way Norton was working.

Just for a little insight - I was working on computers before Windows ever appeared. So with the progression of Windows 3.0 - 95-98 - 2000 - Vista - Win 7 - and Win 8 and assembling several computers, I have had a little experience in how they should work. So I had paid the renewal fee and was determined to find out why it was not working right. If I could totally shut Norton off when I wanted to troubleshoot the computer without Norton's interference - I could then get some where. Now you can shut Norton down with the setting on the task bar (but not completely). You still have Norton working in the background and interfering. It looks like Norton is being run as a computer service. And when you go to Services in XP and try to adjust the settings from auto run to manual - disable, it won't let you do it. So no getting rid of Norton. The last remote before canceling my subscription was to have him show me how Norton was totally shut off. I was told it was Microsoft's problem. and he could do it but I would be charged a fee.

Well the party was over. In the 4 sessions I had with them I watched their progression through my computer and it was a a big show as a prelude to charging me or selling more products if they were Norton's or not. Another insight, I have a brother in Washington state and I am in Wisconsin. My brother is computer illiterate and does't have promise of getting any better but I use "TeamViewer" to do remotes with him and have kept him going for over 3 years. With Norton remotes - I'm not sure what they can and can't do with their remote software but with "TeamViewer" I could plant anything I wanted wherever I wanted to. I believe that if you didn't have problems before a Norton remote - you sure will afterwards. Anyway I cancelled the product and never again. It's like the old time business street insurance. You pay me a monthly pittance, I will make sure your business or computer come to harm - but mistaken as I was I thought Norton internet security would do it for me without all the extra charges. I do computer service and have installed/sold hundreds of Norton products over the last few years. I could sell and install any product or just install one of the freebies and charge for the time. I choose Norton Antivirus because it has consistently been the top-rated product in most of the major reviews over the past few years. You do have to be careful about automatic renewals. It is usually much less expensive to manually renew by purchasing a new product key and manually entering it than just clicking the renew button.

I have had several occasions to call Symantec/Norton. I have always found them helpful. There was only one time when they were unable to totally resolve a problem. I also do phone tech support and I can tell you that it is much harder to tell most people what to do than to remote in to a computer and just do it. Therefore, no one should be upset that a support person wants to immediately remote in. This is generally the most efficient way to provide support. We can look at and fix things that it would take us a long time to tell you how to even get to, much less fix. I highly doubt that any employee of a mainstream, top-rated computer security software company is out to steal your passwords or personal data.

It is impossible to fully guarantee any software or that any problem can be successfully repaired (especially over the phone or by remote support). There are virtually infinite software configurations. No company can predict what the computer's configuration is before the user installs the software or what the user will do afterward. After a reasonable amount of effort, the only viable solution for some problems is to save your data and reload Windows. This is a fact that all computer service people know. You should expect reasonable support if you have a problem, but not infinite support, especially for a product that you only paid $50 for.

The fact is that any application software depends on the operating system being in good working order. We all know that Windows screws up pretty regularly. The symptom might be that Norton Antivirus doesn't work right, but the cause may be problems with the OS itself. There is a limit as to how long tech support can work on a particular problem, especially when they are constrained by only being able to remote in to a computer. I have had Norton techs work on a problem for 3-4 hours and offer to call back again, at no cost. I think this is pretty reasonable. It is reasonable to require payment beyond a certain point and also to limit support coverage to problems that are directly related to the software product.

If you want Norton Antivirus/Internet Security/360 or any security software to work properly, you should be sure to install it on a clean, uninfected computer and then always maintain a current subscription. It is an accepted fact that no product is 100% effective at blocking malware and that all products are less effective at cleaning up an already infected computer than protecting one that is not infected. My advice is to work with a reputable local computer professional. If you do all your business online or at big box, mass-market discount bargain stores, you get what you pay for especially in terms of service.

I have been a loyal Norton customer for a few years. Norton antivirus service is getting worse. And when I called to get help, first thing I'm asked for is to give them permission to take control of my computer. What they do is get in your personal files to get access to your password. I repeated myself to this person to get out of my personal files and to let me gain access to my computer, and he refused. I had to hang up and manually shut off my computer. Other times, I would get someone trying sell me other type of (PC clean up) for $ 400. I've called all the numbers that pop up for Norton and I cannot get a hold of a representative here in the USA. Nothing makes me more angry than that.

I have never been so disappointed in Norton Internet Security before. I kept buying it in the last few years, never had any problems before with it until now. First, it was suspicious that an internal error kept popping up randomly; it was classified: "Error 8504,104". I did complain a few times to the customer service, but they were not able to solve this problem - perhaps they did not want to. In the end, I have realized that this error mainly comes up when I use my laptop i.e. at local authorities and since they are normally well protected with firewall, etc., Norton cannot get through on it, or shall I say break in?

Next, I kept getting lots of scam emails in the name of High Street banks, PayPal, Inland Revenue, etc. telling me that they will close my account down if I do not fill the attached form in or that I am entitled to some money from Inland Revenue and so on. The newest one came from "PayPal" telling me that I have added ** to my PayPal account, which of course does not exist and "threatening" me that they will close my account down if I do not fill the form in. I had got two of these in my inbox.

When I marked the first one in my Outlook as a spam, Norton window popped up and told me that I am misclassifying this email, and asking me if I was sure about that? Really? Are we having a laugh? When I checked the box in the bottom of this window to say "do not ask me again", it simply ignored it and did ask me again when I was marking the second scam email. It also asked me if I was sure to put this sender on to the blocked user-list. There was a check box to tick again, but it ignored that as well.

By the way, when those error windows are popping up (I mentioned above), if I try to fix it then it makes everything worse. So if you have got this software and this error message ("Error 8504,104") comes up, do not try to fix it! If you do, it will disable your Norton completely and will not allow and/or remember all the settings whatever you try to change or reset under its settings menu! If you got to this stage, sometimes the only solution is to completely remove Norton Internet Security and install it again. However, I warmly recommend to get another software and perhaps get a refund on this one if you can, but please do not buy this software; it is dangerous for those with no or very little experience in it!

I foolishly allowed the guy control of my computer. At one point, he put me on hold to "talk to a supervisor" for several minutes. When I tried to access the box to disconnect his control, he did not allow me to. I repeatedly asked him to stop and allow me to control my computer and he kept stalling and refused. Surprise! Afterwards what was on my computer was Norton and Windows Defender was completely turned off. I am still in the process of changing my password but I refuse to use Norton to do a scan. I keep getting a box saying I have their free 30-day subscription and there is no link to refuse the offer. I now have a Norton app and it's listed in my system software. It is no surprise to find that Norton and McAfee are now one company. Both put a virus in your computer that interrupts you enjoyment of your product - and I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't spying too. But at least with McAfee, I bought the product. With Norton, they just violated my computer without my involvement. Now they won't go. Norton is so arrogant that the "I don't want to buy your lousy product button" doesn't get rid of the product prompt but has the arrogance of telling me I must buy it for my own good. This is theft! Is there anything to be done? If this isn't, there should be a law against it because there is no difference between this and other forms of piracy.

I recently purchased a new computer for my husband at Best Buy. I mentioned that I already have a Norton 360 account and can install on three computers and have it only on the one we had owned up to then. When he got set up on the computer, he noticed there was a free 30-day trial of Norton so we did not have to rush to get the 360 installed. Great news!

However, a few days before the end of the trial run, I went to install 360 and had issues. I contacted customer support at 1-800-269-0924. I was directed to a call center and with someone that was extremely difficult to understand. He asked if I was on Windows 8 and he said that he had to remote to my computer and update Windows 8 and 360 to get it going. I gave him access but watched him and within a minute, he said that the computer was already infected and that I had to take it to Best Buy or he could connect me to Microsoft who could "clean it" for $99. I told him there should not be any issues as we had already been covered during this time with their trial Norton coverage. He went around the statement and said that he could not install 360 until it was cleaned.

I asked again, why if Norton themselves was covering it, why there would be any issues. He ignored the question. So I asked, "Why cannot you just install 360 and have that program scan and clean it?" He said that he could not or I risk the whole computer crashing.

My husband came in at that point and I handed him the phone. He was wondering the same thing I was. He told them that if there are issues on the computer currently that Norton needs to pay for the cleaning as their product did not protect it. After going a couple of rounds, the difficult-to-understand tech (identified via the log-in as Agent **), admitted to my husband that the 30-day free trial was "just a marketing tool and does not actually work." At that point, my husband was furious. Norton's trial program said that we were covered and we come to find out it is a scam?! And this out of the mouths directly from their service department?!

My husband informed him that if they were going to make fraudulent claims of protection then absolutely, they need to pay for any issues as a result of their claiming protection when they were not! I am understanding this to mean they knowingly defrauded the public. At this point, tech agent ** hung up on my husband. We never once said any bad words, but were only insistent that if they stated they had our computer protected, then they were liable if they were negligently deceiving the public and using this as a "marketing tool" that "does not actually work".

I saw another complaint on this website that had a similar situation. This is a scam and I think the public needs to be made aware of this. We are installing 360 regardless and then running a full system scan. After these and a few other things we are going to do, we will see how it looks. We did try to contact another number given to us when we called back after being hung up on (it turned out this call center was some contracted third party Norton uses for their "customer service"). The number given to us was 1-800-746-6061 if anyone else needs it. We tried calling but were on hold for 20 minutes before we decided to see how things go and then try again. Either way, consumers beware!

In March 2013, I made the mistake of calling Norton Technical Support to assist with a problem. After explaining my situation, I was asked, “Do you want the $100 service or the $159 service?” I had no idea what the difference was, but I was foolish and elected to give Norton my credit card number for $100 service for remote support. After Norton charged my card, I was then placed on hold while waiting for a "tech person" to pick up the phone. No one ever picked up the phone. After some time, since I had to go to work, I had to hang up the phone. My card was charged, but I did not receive any service.

The next day, I called back the 1-800 number and gave the person (who I could barely understand) my reference number and started the process all over again of telling my story. They listen to your problem, then transfer you to someone else and you have to start all over. There is never a resolution; you just keep getting transferred. I was transferred and had to tell my story to 7 people and ended hanging up and disputing the charge with my credit card company. If that wasn't bad enough, they call my house every day. Even though I had requested that no more phone calls be made to my home, every day, sure enough there is another message that I cannot understand waiting for me.

I once again called them back as a final attempt to get this resolved. But again I told my story, and they told me to hang on and I would be transferred to someone else! Norton is a horrible company to deal with. It is impossible to have a normal conversation with any of the mindless people there. The company is a total rip-off and should be investigated, but I doubt anything will happen. I hope more people read these reviews before throwing money away.

I just want to update the info on my previous complaint. After careful review, the Symantec rep named Paul that handled my "case" called me back to let me know that I had purchased Norton 360 on December 30, 2012 yet the rebate ended on December 22, 2013. Now, Paul from Symantec said they still would send me a rebate for $20 and offered to also give me an extra 90 added to my Norton 360 to extend my expiration date in order to make up for the ordeal I have had to go through. I accepted the offer, and he walked me through the process and did extend the expiration date on the Norton 360 by 90 days as promised.

Now I ask which came first, the chicken or the egg? Office Depot sold me Norton 360 telling me it had a $20 rebate; they printed the rebate form at the register at the same time with my purchase receipt. Why would the Office Depot sales person tell me it had a rebate if it had already ended... maybe forgot? Hmm. Why would Office Depot print me a form for the rebate if it had already ended a week before... false advertising? Symantec blames me for purchase date being ineligible, but Office Depot keeps pitching the rebate well after it ended and prints you the form for it.

Office Depot makes sales and Symantec doesn't fix the problem because it's win-win for both them and Office Depot. What a scam! This scam needs to air on 60 minutes (here in USA). It would be great if they bought Norton 360 after the rebate ended and record the sales people at Office Depot pitch the rebate and print the rebate forms; and then as you leave the register, record them telling you don't forget to send it in. I wonder, is this scam limited to Office Depot, or is it also being done at Office Max, Staples, Walmart, etc.? If so, it makes you wonder if Symantec still comes up ahead on profits after paying all the folks that work for pennies as customer services reps in call centers like India and other cheap labor nations. It just might be that it’s cost effective to turn a blind eye the rebate problem if the stores are able to sell more under false pretense. I smell something fishy here!

Symantec Norton antivirus has been my preferred antivirus software for well over a decade. It was the first company that offered such an antivirus product back in the day. But since those days of old, many other antivirus companies have developed. Hence, Symantec now has lots and lots of competition for my money. Last year 2012, after having purchased my Norton product, I submitted the required doodads as part of my rebate request for $20 in a Visa card. But instead, I did not get it and had to make several calls to the so-called customer service line. After much disappointment, they came through and issued me my $20 Visa card. This year I said to myself, "Will I go to another antivirus product or use good old Norton again?" Well I chose the latter and now I regret I did.

This 2013 Norton 360 rebate offer got sucked into the rebate hell hole I went through the year before. What are the chances of that happening twice, hmm? Well since January 10, 2013 when Symantec received my rebate doodads, it is now going on end of March and the website for tracking my rebate claims my purchase was not purchased within the rebate period. Give me a break Norton. They got my rebate on Jan. 10, 2013 and when I contacted them on live customer service, they agreed that this was an error and would grant the rebate. Did I get the rebate? No. I had to call and call some more to finally get someone to look into it for real.

Please take note that I began to ask for someone in Symantec that I could file my complaint officially with. I told them that now my intent for my call is in filing a formal complaint that now I was planning to bring this issue to the news media and needed to formally file a formal complaint in order to show (prove) that Norton was aware of the problem, but using many resources in order to give customers the runaround. I mentioned that my expectations of getting the $20 was pretty much none so they could stop giving me countless numbers to call to resolve my issue. All I needed was a formal complaint number. In fact, they could give me, if possible, the number for Media Relations Dept. I explained to the last customer service rep that since this scam on Symantec's Norton antivirus was going to be aired on the news to forewarn the public about the abuses this so-called rebate has caused.

It seems that my call got escalated to a priority call because this rep kept checking on how to help me file a complaint and was put on hold several times for more than 5 to 10 minutes at a time. The rep said he was going to transfer my call to a case manager named Paul. Paul took my info and issued me a case number. He said he would contact the rebate dept and find out what had happened to my rebate. I told him that was fine, but I still wanted to file a complaint. He said they don't have a formal way of taking complaints. I said, "Then give me your Media Relations Dept number because I want them to be aware that I will contact the news media about this scam that has been done on many thousands of people around the country (USA)."

He said he would work on my case and get back to me in about 10 to 15 minutes to resolve my rebate. Once again reminded him that I need the Customer Relations Dept number. He said he would try to resolve the rebate issue and when he called back and look into it (the Media Relations number) at that time. I said okay. Here I am still waiting. The Sunday news show 60 Minutes should run a report on this scam. You can bet that next year I'm not buying any Symantec products or ever!

I've tried to contact Norton to complain and tell them I had a subscription that was lost on my defunct computer, but there is no way to contact them that gets me anywhere. With so many renewal emails, it becomes so confusing as to when I really need to renew. I've had no problems but this constant emailing has made me rethink renewing at all.

But then I thought McAfee was great until all of a sudden it wasn't. Although it took longer than ten months for it to go bad for me, try years. Now, it looks as if every year I'll have to try another security software. I thought better of Norton than this. Why was I lied to? When I finally looked into my payment history under my account, I found the discrepancy. Two days ago an automatic renewal charge showed up in my bank account for $96.38 ($20 more than I paid last year). This was not a renewal I requested but when I finally got a hold of someone at Norton (this took about 4 hours total), the rude answer I received from the heavily accented woman I talked to was that I requested automatic renewal when I subscribed the year before. I think this is some kind of marketing scam. They make people buy their products but give all these excuses to issue the rebates. This happened to me twice. The first time they said it was missing bar code, which I'm sure I sent the bar code because I cut it out from the box. I can't re-submit it anymore because the only bar code was already cut from the box. I lost $50 and now it happened again. I'm so frustrated that I don't know what to do. This happened to my friend as well who bought the same product with me at the same time. This is just crazy!

I purchased a Norton 360 for my PC four months ago. This week, my computer was infected by a virus (MVR). I called Norton's free 24/7 technical support hotline. After being on hold for ten minutes, I talked to a customer rep who listened to my problem, asked a lot of questions, and then offered me to transfer me to another rep who would remotely log into my computer for a $16.99 fee. After I told him I was not going to pay, he then offered to transfer me to another rep who would walk me through the steps necessary to clean my PC.

At this point, I was transferred to Sam, whom I had to explain everything once more. Sam did a remote log into my PC (for free; never asked for any money) and was unable to fix the problem. At this point (we're now two hours into this mess), Sam offered me a transfer to another rep who (for $99) will fix my computer just like new. I complained and asked him, "Let me get this straight, I purchased Norton 360 so that it can identify viruses but not clean them?" To which he replied, "Yes. In order for us to clean your virus, you would have had to purchase the virus removal insurance at $8.99/month prior to the infection." I asked Sam if the conversation was being recorded. He said yes. I said great!

This is grounds for a class action suit against Symantec Corp based on false advertisement at the very list.

After 45 minutes, they gave up. 15 minutes later, I removed the virus myself via a free website download. I called Norton service number to cancel my subscription, and they argued and told me to call 877-294-5256. I called, and 20 minutes later, no one had answered. Without any previous notice, I received an email from Norton informing me that my Norton Antivirus software subscription was automatically renewed on 12/31/2012 with the charge of $74.89 to my credit card. I tried to call the company with the number provided on the email (1-877-888-7505). I waited on the phone line for about 45 minutes before I gave up. The bot constantly asked me to stay on the line and said otherwise I would wait even longer.

Today, when I tried to call Norton with the same phone, the phone is apparently blocked by Norton. The message was "I am sorry, your call cannot be completed this time." I tried to call using my cell phone. It went through but still the same old message for waiting. I now can only hope my credit card company can dispute this charge for me. What a disgusting company Norton has become! Stay away from this company or you will be sorry for yourself.

I have had two problems they were either incapable of fixing or unwilling to fix - one involving restoration of my files, and the other involving the online backup of files. For the restoration, it took them ten days to restore my files, and I had to work with half a dozen employees for hours and hours before I finally got one who knew what he was doing. For the online backup, I am still waiting for a solution after two weeks. They transfer you from one incompetent employee to another, and each time, you have to explain your problem from the beginning. They apologize profusely yet do nothing, and they promise to get back to you "within 72 hours" or by calling back "tomorrow" and then fail to do so. Oh, and did I mention that each time you call, you are put on hold for 15-30 minutes before a human being answers? I am absolutely stunned that this company remains in business.

When I signed up for Norton, auto-renewal was automatically enabled. Directions to opt-out were murky, especially since I kept receiving notices to "renew" my subscription. If it's an auto-renewal, wouldn't it be more normal to just say that the subscription would be renewed automatically at a certain date, rather than keep posting nags about having to renew it? And I also, for some reason, didn't seem to have an "account." This is verging on deceptive practice. By the time I realized it, Norton had auto-renewed 5 GB of online backup space which I had absolutely no use for (and hadn't even realized I had signed on for).

Luckily, I caught it quickly, within the 2 months refund period, and was able to contact a support person for a refund. Needless to say, I cancelled all my Norton subscription (it turns out that I was up for another renewal of a different package - Norton Internet Security). Blame me for not reading the fine print. But, judging from all the complaints I see online about Norton and its sneaky auto-renewal feature, I think Norton should do something about it. Norton, if you are reading this, you just lost a customer because of your greedy and stupid auto-renewal feature. I called the 800 number from the contact list on the website. They told me I have to contact Microsoft and that this is not from their program. The following day the install did the same thing to my mom's computer. I called Norton again and they still are denying that there is anything wrong with their product. I then had to pay to have our computers fixed and have all the programs re-installed for us and had them put on a different internet security program.

I filed a complaint with the BBB about this. I want to be refunded for the product, the amount for computer repair, and also for the time spent on this issue. I have spent hours holding with customer service and have yet to speak with someone in America. Supposedly, I will be receiving a phone call tomorrow from the company, but we'll see about that. I carefully asked him twice about my settings and including once specifically about the logins and passwords and he said my "computer will be saving settings". Not only was all information lost, but a supervisor and/or expert would call back in 24 to 48 hours.

10 hours later, I emailed back in and signed up for a supervisor or expert to call back between 1 and 7PM. I stayed next to the phone and computer all day and never heard back from anyone. Not only did anyone ever call me back, but Norton didn't even ever say they were sorry. I was locked out of my life and spent Monday morning going to my bank to get access to my accounts. Horrible, horrible and dishonest.

I contacted customer service (India) and couldn't get to resolve it. It is being charged in error. We did not make the purchase. They suggested that I should contact my credit card company, which I did and I am disputing both charges. I don't understand why they (India) couldn't have credited my account in the amount of $105.98. Why is it that Norton does not have a telephone number for customer service here in the United States? When my current Norton comes up for automatic renewal, I will be looking at another product that is American and not some with a call center in India.

He told they would fix my computer, monitor it for a week, and to call them back if I "ever" have any further problems and they would assist me. That’s all for $99.99! The tech was great and fixed the computer in 30 minutes. She put her supervisor on the phone and he said, "If you have any problems this week, give us a call.” I was led to believe that as long as my subscription was up to date, they would help me out. They even put me hold to make sure it was. The contract they said they would send was a bill. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, he had an accent so thick I couldn't understand a word he said. When I said, “I can't understand. Could you repeat that?” I think he said, "I'll speak louder.” I have more, but I think you understand.

Then, and only then, it is noted in the downloaded information that the rebate must be mailed within 30 days of purchase. Well, it was just a few days past the 30 days so I completed the information and mailed it on as directed. I received an e-mail indicating my rebate application was received, and then nothing.

I went to the website and checked on the rebate some weeks later and found that it was denied due to late submission. It has been impossible to get any reply of any kind to this issue, as I have tried. I will never purchase Norton again. I will advise all who will listen to avoid Norton as well. Norton is so stupid they do not tell you to click renew and enter the new product key if you bought a new retail CD. They lie about their customer support on the weekends. They darn sure are not at the number posted on their website for the weekend. The only website they are on is the 100 dollar one. Their regular number on site clearly states Mon-Fri when you call it. The lady lied to me just 10 minutes ago. She said, "Why didn't you call. I was here all weekend." Just another lie.

These folk need a class action lawsuit. They created three days of hell for me when their instructions do not state click. l renewed and entered a new product key, but that idiot robot knows zip.

Unacceptable, prior to calling to have an automatic renewal stopped, I had at least 5 active keys not expiring until July 2012 and so on. After one call, I was locked out of my account, all my keys were missing and no one had answers for me, as to why I had been turned into a trial member. After 3 hours on the phone with customer support, I was furious and kept asking for a manager or a CEO or CFO and continued to be put on hold.

I have been with Norton since 2007, this is not how you treat customers and if so, then I am sorry that I ever spent any money with you. I recently bought a laptop a few months ago and that key is gone as well. So I guess, I'm just out of $200.00 dollars and mind you, I am still on hold, while I type this at 12:18am, waiting for your customer service reps to assist me. How bad is that? Gee, thanks for nothing. Support? Yeah this is ridiculous.

Norton went into my credit card and deducted $69.99 as seen below. The computer is no longer in use. So, on what basis did this automatic renew go through? And if they renewed it, why was no notice sent to my email. I want my money back.
