We have had several failures in the last year, lost connection for our TV and wifi connection last month for 3 days. A little frustrating when you are trying to watch a hockey game or work from home. Problem does not seem to be in the house but more in an old system in the community. Other communities have been upgraded. Would caution people signing with Telus until the system improves.

As of March 2015- our son could not afford Telus anymore after his wife left him & he switched over to Shaw Cable. He received a box as he had not been able to pay the bills & cleared his bill payments up until MARCH 2016. He returned his equipment in the box provided in March. They received the unit back - however they continued to bill him from March until June 2016! He said he did not use their service. He returned the box... his account was cancelled - he has not paid. We have had the CBV collections calling him. They couldn't explain why he owed them $444.10 - so we had to go back to Telus to find out why they continuously say he owes them money. As of October they will not budge on this amount saying he still had not cancelled his contract- but in fact he did & they closed his account finally in June or they would have continued to bill him!!!

We will not pay for a service that was not used & cancelled according to us getting the box & returning it - the account being closed & advising Shaw we were not with Telus anymore & they hooked up their system. Anyone know whom to talk to as the Manager by the name of Melanie - who was extremely rude & was not willing to even discuss this or say "Ok. So maybe your son "thought" he had cancelled." They'd rather not have any money than to give some "loyalty" on the plan they continued to charge him on & would not even compromise for us as we said - we need to come to an agreement.

This is when we I advised them that they were outright robbing someone of money. That WE DO NOT OWE you & for services & equipment we no longer had in their possession! That was the end of our conversation. We advised CBV we are not paying for this bill because our Telus account was cancelled & we no longer needed them as we now switched to Shaw in March.

They provide good cellular coverage with very few black-out areas. Customer service staff are usually helpful. Their International roaming package is totally useless - can't access the services it claims to provide. Telus is good about recognizing loyal customers and negotiating a good package to suit my needs.

This young woman not only helped me understand my billing, adjust it somewhat (although it was my error), and went on to help me understand how best to use my devices while travelling, simply by using my settings and checking an app she recommended I download. I was so impress, I'm a senior and she made it simple, understandable, and very easy to do. She even ran me through a few adjustments and how to do them for my next trip. She assisted me with so many questions because I felt comfortable asking her.

I've dealt with Telus for over 40 years! I've had adequate to very good service. My store rep who taught me how to use my devices is also a genius and doesn't mind my need to stop by once in awhile if I have a problem. But if I go to the location of this operator I plan to call ahead of time and take her to lunch. My husband was astounded I was having such a positive, productive call. This sort of work is demanding beyond normal service work. It's impersonal and you can't see each other. Since communication, for the most part, is non-verbal I'm surprised I haven't freaked on anyone in the past when using phone services. But this young lady really made my day, made me appreciate the service I get from Telus so much more, and solved a number of niggly, little questions I've had in my head for a long time. I'm thrilled to write this review!

I have been with the three top Canadian carriers to date and this one is the best of any in my experience. Telus is easy to deal with. The customer service is superlative. The prices for Canada are comparable to other Canadian carriers which may be the highest in the world. If I have any problems and need to call Telus, the customer service people are always knowledgeable and friendly and fix any problem I might have no matter how trivial.

I went to my local mall today to cancel my Telus phone plan that costs me 70$ a month (78$ with tax). I've been with Telus for over 6 years now and their reaction reaffirmed my choice. I quote myself, "I would like to cancel my Telus plan." The gentleman replied, with absolutely no emotion, "ok, what is your number", and did not even ask my why I was canceling or anything. I guess I was a bit surprised at the lack of concern for a customer that has been with them this long. Nevertheless, I was super happy to head over to a rival company and pay 40$ per month for the EXACT same plan that Telus had given me at 70$. Note: Telus did give me a phone for next to nothing several years ago and I believe this is their justification for the higher cost. However, factoring in how long I had been with them I had paid my phone off quite a while ago so the extra cost no longer made sense financially. Good riddance.

Until this past few months, I have been a big fan of Telus as they have always (until recently) been fast to reply, had reasonable hold times and the staff have always been kind (though it is difficult to understand many of the accents - frustrating). I am now comparing the hold times and call transferring to the likes of Rogers. Yep, it's that bad. I gave up accepting the worst service ever from Rogers 14 years ago and now find myself comparing Telus to the other. Canada has THE HIGHEST cell phone plans in the world, so why do we have to accept the worst service in the world? What is the CRTC doing about it? NOTHING. How do we get this situation to improve?

What an experience I've been having with TELUS! I renewed my contract on a 2-year plan with the Google Pixel phone online on November 28th. Right after I placed the order I realized I had put it the wrong shipping address, gave *611 a call and the wait time was at least an hour so I opted for a call back instead. After an hour, I received the call back, I answered the phone and was on hold for ANOTHER 30MINS. Finally I got connected only to find out that I need to phone a different number or email "weborder@telus.com". Sent the email for my shipping address to get changed. 2 days later still no response so I checked the status of my order online and to my surprise it was already shipped! - I was supposed to get an email confirmation when my order ships but never did get such email.

So I phoned Telus again to ask where in the world my order was shipped to. I called the weborder number this time only to find out from the prompt that the email initially provided to me by the agent I spoke with on the 28th was a wrong email address! I stayed on the line for 59 MINUTES ON HOLD before I finally gave up and hung up the phone. The next day I sent an email to the right address regarding what has happened so far. It was Dec 5th when they sent me the email that my order has been shipped. GREAT. I NOW HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT MY ORDER HAS BEEN SHIPPED ON THE DAY THAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE AT THE WRONG ADDRESS.

I phoned Telus again and the agent said that my order was shipped to the address where no one can sign for it and that I will just have to pick it up at the post office because obviously it's too late to change it now. I was expecting that at this point and that's okay. It is what it is. The agent prorated my monthly bill to the days that I don't have the phone. Alright, I was hoping this was the end of it and that I will get my phone on Dec 6th at the post office. But as it just happens it is not there. Post office told me to check the next day and it still wasn't there and they told me to check again today and I did and I found out that it is lost somewhere and they have no idea where it is and that they will track it down. The tracking system was showing it has arrived back and forth from the post office and my house but I was at the post office 3 DAYS IN A ROW and it is not there.

I spoke with them and they are tracking it down. I called Telus today to let them know what is happening and all the agent said was that "It's on its way to the post office. That's what it says on the tracking system." I just told her that Canada post already said that it's not and they just put a service ticket to find it and it will take 7 days before they get to me. And she said, "Well, let's see tomorrow."

I know at this point it's more of a postal problem. But seriously, some consideration would be nice from the agents considering if the customer service turn around time had just been efficient and my shipping was corrected to the right address none of this would have happened. Some much convenience for online shopping. Great job with the promise of receiving your order within 3 to 5 business days. Great job sending your confirmation emails that orders have been shipped on the day of its delivery. And fantastic job addressing customer concerns. I have tried patiently to email and call your contact centers but this have just been a horrible experience.

They put you on hold for an hour, pass you on to another joker with bad English, put you on hold for another hour, and drop your call before they resolve your issue. They cost me hundreds of dollars in extra fees, and the service was so bad that it was easier to put up with it. They had an amazing promotion that put me into new phones when my old ones worked just fine, after that, I had to buy them out because their service sucked so bad I simply couldn't take it.

We have had trouble with our telephone for 2 weeks. Called Telus to check out the problem. They sent out a repairman would diagnosed that we have not signal to our house but he was unable to get into a distribution box to trace it. He cancelled the trouble call and rearranged for another repairman to come in two day later. Three days later I called and asked where he was. They told me that the first repairman was not able to get into our house which was false as I stood by him as he was checking the signal and determined that there was no signal coming to our house. I explained this to them that I was not lying.

After reading the report they determined that this my explanation was true. After a 1/2 hr. call I was told I need to rebook. A day later that sent out another repairman that still cannot fix my phone. This is what happens when you have a monopoly. Still do not have a phone and can't access the trouble because I don't have a nonexistent Pin Number. This is the kind of stupidity that is the result of monopolies like Telus.

Telus pulled the dirtiest trick in the book. After over charging me on 'unlimited long distance' on my home phone, they were charging for area codes they did not cover, and my argument was that they could not call it "unlimited" then... as I assumed what the sales person was telling me to be true and that my bill would only be that amount per month, after I noticed the extra charges and enquired, that is when I found out. So they refused to take the charges off my bill, so I sought out help and found 'consumer affairs' in BC Canada.

I talked to someone there who heard my case and took in on, on my behalf as they felt I was in the right here. So it took a long time and I heard back that it went all the way to Consumer Affairs of Canada in Ottawa and that the ruling was in my favour and that Telus should not have been calling it "Unlimited Long Distance" when it clearly wasn't unlimited. So by this time I had left Telus and gone to another provider, but had still been getting bills sent to me monthly from Telus. They now had added up to several hundred dollars. Telus was supposed to remove these charges from my bill and from my name.

Later in life, I moved to a new city and again had to arrange a phone/cable/internet provider in my new town. I still had my Telus cell phone (back then Telus Mobility and Telus were two separate entities.) However I guess later they combined. I had been happy with my cell phone plan and service and I just happened to be in a mall with a Telus store in it. I went in to charge my phone a bit and while it was charging one of the sales reps chatted with me. He explained they have a great deal on right now that if I signed up with them that I would get a free flat screen TV. So I thought, what the heck I can give them another chance. So we went through the entire application process which assigned a new account number to my name and everything, and he had all my new and updated information now.

At the VERY END of the application he said there was something on the file and he had to call a number. So he calls this number and a person talks to me saying I have an outstanding bill with them. I said "Oh No I do not", and proceeded to explain the whole story. So I said "well just forget it, if that is the way you guys are going to be, I will take my business elsewhere." So off I went. Then shortly after that I started getting collection calls on my cell phone and at my new work place. The CVBCollections fella told me they bought the 'debt' from Telus in January 2014, that was when I was in there applying for their services again... so they took advantage of the situation, to reattach an old debt that was proven by Consumer Affairs to be fraud and false advertising on their part, and re-attach it to me with my new contact information so they could then hassle me again.

I am sure this works on many people, but not on me. I am very stubborn about right and wrong, and this is just wrong what Telus is doing and I refuse to just pay the bill to make it go away. This is about the principle of what they are getting away with and it is WRONG. This is bullying and harassment and should be illegal. If anyone else has experienced the same treatment I am all for a class action lawsuit because we can make a difference if we have enough of us. They might get away bullying us one at a time, but if WE the CUSTOMERS all link arms and fight back, they will have to do the right thing. Anyway needless to say I have been a cell phone client for over ten years, at one time I had 5 phones on my plan when everyone in the family had a phone under my bill, and so Telus has made a killing off of me already and no more.

I am so sick of this BS with Telus that I am going to change my cell phone to another provider, thank goodness there are competitive companies out there and even ones that are better. Don't be fooled into believing that Telus is the best, because it just isn't true. They have to earn our business not blackmail us for it. So the way they did this is by creating a new account when I applied on services in a new location. Telus if you are listening you can still make this right by zero-ing out what you think I owe you on client account number **. I owe you nothing, this is a mistake, and I will continue to complain, and write letters, and protest, and demand proof from you, and update the credit bureau of your fraud, and continue to pursue power in numbers for a lawsuit against you for grief and suffering this has caused me over the years.

I know Telus has pulled this with other unfortunate consumers, I found other complaints **. Way to go Telus, way to earn trust and respect by your consumers. By the way Telus, you are going to lose the rest of my business too, is it really worth fighting over $245?? I have been a Telus mobility customer with an account for the past eleven years account # ** - and now that it seems Telus and Telus Mobility are one and the same, and as long as you continue to claim I owe you money when I have proven to you that you were advertising falsely and giving consumers false sense of trust, that I feel I may have to take all my future business, to another provider. This will include my children, my grandchildren, my extended family and more. Anyone who will listen. You want to come after me and my pocket book and try to destroy my credit rating, well that goes both ways Telus. Without your customers you are nothing. Remember that.

In February of 2016 I was watching a news story investigation on how to get better deals from your cellphone companies. This included Rogers, Bell, and Telus. I come from Saskatoon so according to information provided Saskatchewan would get better deals due to the fact that we have Sasktel. My 3 year old contract was about to expire and I thought it was a good time to get a better deal. I was paying $65 a month and $35 a month for pay as you go for a second line. I believed that I could put them together. I called TELUS and asked them for 2 cellphones one of which is on a new line and the other would be my own cellphone. Based on my discussions and also being on the line for close to 2 hours they came back to me and stated that I could get 2 lines for $95 plus tax. This would include a number of features such as long distance and local calls.

For the next 6 months I received 6 bills totaling $1700 dollars. I called them and asked why the bills are so high. They said my bills are an average of $160 and that I only signed for one cellphone at $95 per month not including the second phone. They said they would never give anyone that kind of deal. I told them that on Market Place the show a women got 3 cellphone from them and that it for under a $100 dollars. The bottom line is that I was led to believe that I was getting 2 lines and a new phone on a 2-year contract for $95 a month, not one phone. In addition, I have been with Telus for close to 10 years and only once did my cellphone bill came in as posted. I have given this company thousands and thousands of dollars over the years and I thought a contract was a contract. I want to add that Tellus likes to post you bill payments on your credit report if they are dead wrong. They still will doink you around.

After a long, LONG absence due to unsatisfactory service as a mobile customer, I selected Telus as my TV and Internet provider in August 2015. For the last 9 out of 11 months, I have had unauthorized charges on my account for either On Demand orders, movie rentals, TV channel changes, or billing issues: one month I was charged for 2 pick 8 combos and 1 pick 6 combo. At first, I was given the credits. A few months in, a customer service rep told me in exasperation that I would no longer be able to get credits for on demand orders. Suggested solution: set up a PIN. When that didn't work and unauthorized charges and package changes still kept showing up, the suggested solution was: block self-serve options. The only way to order a movie or make a channel change was to call in.

When that didn't work, suddenly a review of my account activity showed the block had never been activated; despite the confirmation emails I had on file from Telus reps and the fact that I checked online regularly to make sure the block was still in place. In a nutshell: either I was ordering things and then changing my mind to get a credit, or I was somehow "accidentally" placing an order and entering a PIN number, or I and the Telus reps I had corresponded with about the block are all liars.

When I suggested I'd been hacked - not possible. When I suggested a disgruntled Telus employee was messing with the account - not possible. When I pointed out that Telus themselves had confirmed the block and I have verified it online - not possible. When I wanted out of my contract because Telus was not fulfilling its contractual obligations - not possible. The service is a joke. The system is flawed. The organization is too big to give care about customer service, bogus charges, and correcting their mistakes.

I recently purchased an LG4 phone from Telus, apparently one of the best on the market and so far so good. I am paying into a 3 year plan over $100.00 a month which includes payment on the phone plus the plan. However, I did not purchase insurance. I immediately went out and bought a protective casing for it, a protective/shatterproof screen for it and a sturdy holster. I modified my holster to loop around my belt, not just clip on. Even after all of this, I figured anything can happen. Having second thoughts, I went back to the Telus store to purchase insurance, and I had my phone with me (not a scratch on it).

To my surprise, and I nearly ** myself. I was told that I could not get insurance because I have had it over 60 days. I asked for a reason behind this, and the response I got was "this is Telus policy". I kept up my end of the stick and demanded a better explanation (without swearing), he could not give me one. Then the Telus employee became belligerent (Bonnie Doon Mall Location, Edmonton) and basically told me to take a right turn. I went home and contacted Telus online and could still not get any explanation as to why you cannot get insurance after 60 days. I gave up on that, then I phoned them, I got the same old story. What really baffles me here is why a company, that basically still owns the product would not want insurance on it, especially if a third party is paying for it. I.e: YOU DO NOT DRIVE A BRAND NEW CAR OFF THE LOT IF IT IS NOT INSURED!!!

So, if there is anybody out there that can provide a reasonable explanation for this please let me know. Let me throw a scenario out there for you. What if I went to the Telus store within the 60 period to purchase insurance and did not have the phone with me? I wonder, can I still get insurance? Assume the answer is Yes. Then I call them 2 weeks later and say I lost the phone. Do they replace it? To the powers that be at Telus: I am telling you to change this idiotic policy that makes absolutely NO SENSE AT ALL beyond a reasonable doubt. You say you're not going to adhere to this? That's OK, you can guarantee that you will not be my cell phone provider after my three year term is up. Not only will I drop my phone service with you, but also, my cable, my landline and internet. After switching to Telus just recently, all has been good, except for this issue. To all you consumers out there, make sure you read the fine print.

I was having trouble with my cable freezing and pixelating, and I called to have Telus come out and see what needed to be fixed. The Optik boxes were over 5 years old so the technician told me he would have to change all of the boxes to new ones. One box was in my bedroom. He left me his card and told me he subcontracts for Telus, and to call him direct if there were any more problems.

About a week later, I noticed that a box holding three rings (a bridal set and a three diamond ring) were gone off my dresser in my room, and I searched my entire room. I then took my search to the whole house, but I kept coming back to the same conclusion. The only person in my room was the Telus technician, and he was the only one who had access. I filed a formal complaint with Telus, and also filed a theft complaint with the RCMP as directed by Telus. Mr Sandeep ** was the only one with access and opportunity. I know they were on the dresser when he attended to fix the cable, and they are not now.

I am disgusted with the way Telus has handled this and is accepting no responsibility for the actions of who they have subcontracted and sent to my home. I requested on several occasions to have the bonding and insurance information from Telus, however they have refused. Not only is this subcontractor not located through a directory on any of the Telus websites, his profile says he does not even reside in this country, and currently runs a trucking business in India. I cannot even receive confirmation that this person is legally entitled to work in Canada.

I have asked for confirmation on that status, and I was informed it was none of my business. I have a right to know what kind of people Telus is sending into my home to complete any work whatsoever. Apparently UBER is not the only company who has no morals in who they hire. Criminal records from other countries should be mandatory in background checks, and I don't see that any attempt to research this subcontractor's history has even been entertained.

DO NOT LET ANY TELUS EMPLOYEE UNATTENDED IN YOUR HOME AS THEY ARE NOT BONDED OR INSURED!!! Telus claims no responsibility whatsoever in the actions of their employees. Leon, the so-called manager, was completely belligerent, and said that it was none of my business that I found Mr. ** was not affiliated with Telus. He also denied me any information of what the security background checks consist of, nor would he provide me any information on the insurance and bonding of any employees. Telus disregards customers and will not even return calls or emails. NEVER sign on with Telus as you will be just another account and any complaint is ignored and you will be robbed blind while Telus gives them all access.

I have been reading some of the complaints about TELUS on this site and am appalled! TELUS willy nilly threatens to ruin poor people's credit for their own aim. The BOTTOM LINE: TELUS is fashioning their website (SERVICES) in a way that makes it impossible to just SIMPLY deal with the issues and is stonewalling customers through idiotic installations or the purpose of warding off these complainants. TELUS is not providing a simple email (one must SIGN IN to whatever website) address to launch a simple complaint and will find out that is also impossible. It is virtually impossible to do anything the simple way. Their practices smack from the ** era and now the American Business Model; all that counts is the bottom line, people can go to hell!

For a fact, that is not much different for any of the other big providers here in CANADA. They are using the fact that us CANADIANS have been brainwashed into something unrecognizable ever since the 60's, the date I came to this then great country, now reformed into something I cannot recognize anymore. People have been dumbed down through a very inefficient educational system which has been deteriorating with all the other departments we have always held in high esteem than in those days. Ok that's fine. Two years later, one box went kaput, so they send new me a new box - this was in 2015. So now comes 2016, I phone them to activate this box that was sent a year ago. The box activation didn't exactly went smooth. My other box in the family room somehow got deactivated. So I phone them and complained and told them to put the cable again in the family room. So they did put it back, so I asked them what would it takes to hook up this box that was sent to me a year ago. I was told they have to send the technician so they did. So the technician came May 18th, 2016.

To my surprise he came in with another box to installed the satellite, I said, "Ok, I get another box." I told him, "You can take the old Telus box send to me by Telus in 2015." He came in, hook up the box, ok tv is on. However at around 10 pm I went into the family room tv was disconnected. Back to square one again. 10 pm hits I phone Telus to cancel everything.

Then I was told they would credit my account for the few days that I wasn't able to access internet. I haven't had access to my FULL internet since we has it. Yaaa. We are currently looking at another provider. It's just become too much. I work full time and use the internet for work. To mock your recent Telus Advertising pitch "We're listening to you" - I guess you mean "it comes to our left ear and leaves instantly via our right ear." Why your CEO earning millions of dollars, why your already rich shareholders, why YOU, Telus workforce who earn on average $75,000 a year work so hard, and so smart, in order to squeeze one more ** dollar out of already half-empty pockets of those at the financial - but certainly not ethical or moral - bottom of Canadian society, people like myself with +/- $7,500 a year income?

As a solitary person who receives a couple of phone calls a year and makes a couple of calls from a payphone using prepaid card, I already pay Telus way more than my actual usage of your services because the "very smart" business model of yours in regard to prepaid mobile phone services. And more importantly because these days it is impossible to function without a phone number. Sounds like the prophecy that predicts that all men will be tattoo-marked by Satan.

Recently, I could not access my voicemail long distance from a payphone. Ironically it was Telus payphone and I was using Telus prepaid long distance card. But the system you set up, refused and (automatically) informed me that I can not use this method - in other words, I was being forced by Telus to use my cellphone and place long distance call at the very high cost for me - English is not my first language and more often than not I have to listen several times to messages in my voicemail to get the message.

I am aware that this letter to you, and similar to CRTC and BBB will change nothing - your CEO will earn more millions of dollars, your shareholders will get richer and YOU, Telus workforce will get on average $75,500 a year - so to end this let me paraphrase the famous saying from Coppola's "Apocalypse Now" - "It smells like manure". I had unimaginable horror experience with TELUS. After making payments, occasionally, my payments would not show on my bills. In the wake of too many stressful calls, I cancelled all my accounts with TELUS and stayed away from TELUS at all cost. This questionable account came to my attention was from CBV's calls. It was a demand to speak to someone else with a different address first. Then was told the user is my son and the account was under my name. I asked for TELUS file for verification, and haven't been presented with such proofs.

With difficulty, I finally received a confirmation letter states that the contract dated September 1, 2004 was unable to be found in hard copy or in electronic format. Prior to this confirmation letter, I received a copy of simplified account comments. I have no question nor did I have any concern about this 2004 contract's existence or its validity. I admitted that I had a two year term (mobile phone) back in 2004 with Telus. What I have requested were the proofs of Telus claims that I have the knowledge about a third party was using the cell phone under my contract, or I authorized a third party to alter/extend the contract.

For nearly 6 years Telus believes and insists that I am the one should be held responsible for this unpaid account plus interest; and I deserve for receiving no bill or notice if this account was my account when it was disputed by a third party user. Furthermore, I should be punished by ruthless collection agency, and I should be destroyed financially with a tarnished credit report for an unpaid account that I knew was transferred to a new owner and he happens to be my son. You see, Telus didn't need to remove third party's identity when provided me with a copy of the "account comments".

I am only trying to be fair and ask Telus for the proofs Telus based on in concluding that I authorized my mailing address to be changed, and I authorized the third party to accept Telus promotion with a condition to add additional 3 years term to the existing contract in 2009. I am asking Telus to prove that Telus does not have my contact information (phone numbers or my mailing address) to let me know that my account had been extended/term was altered and was not paid to my attention in 2009.

I have been treated cruelly and unusually by TELUS and I am not surprised to see so many also had been treated unfairly and disrespectfully. TELUS must not ignore or disregard a debt that has been disputed and must not continue to make demands for payment without providing clear justification and/or evidence as to why the customer's claim is not valid.

I have an account with Telus for both TV and internet. I signed up for a promotion they had at the time for a free TV with a 2 year contract. I was offered a better price and package at Shaw and when I called Telus to find out the balance on my account, I was told $150 was the full amount to be paid if I was to cancel. I called twice to confirm this was the entire amount owed and both reps along with the cancellation tech confirmed this, so I went ahead and took the offer with shaw and set up my appointments. I then called back Telus to cancel the account and was given the incorrect information by 2 customer service reps and 1 cancellation tech. While in the process of cancelling, the tech then told me the 'NEW" amount is $375. I was very upset at this point and said that is not right because I was previously told by 3 Telus employees that my bill would be $150 for the entire cancellation.

I then asked to speak to a manager and Natalie (from Montreal branch) came on the phone and I had explained the situation to her and that I will not be paying $375 as I was told previously it was $150. I went on to explain to her that it is not my fault and responsibility that all 3 employees informed me incorrectly and due to the misleading information provided to me, it affected the amount in my pockets as I was not working at the time. She was very rude in the way she carried about herself. However, she did mention that she could only give me $100 credit towards the bill which would reduce it to $275. I explained to her that I would not be paying that amount and that I could only afford to pay that $200. She went on to tell me and I quote, "that's ok if you don't want to pay it, it will be sent to collections." This all happened on Feb 5 & 6 of 2016.

I received a bill from Telus for March 2016 in the amount of $415.48. I called Telus and asked to speak to a manager again and was transferred to manager Nikita (at Burnaby branch). I explained the situation again to her on March 28 2016 and she stated the other manager Natalie had placed a note on my account stating the amount was $515 dollars and that I refused to pay and the account would be sent to collections. So here yet again I am even more upset because I was never informed of any amount of $515 to my recollection. I explained my situation yet again to manager Nikita and I clearly stated that all these calls were recorded by Telus where I have been continuously misinformed. Manager Nikita then stated that she will check the recorded call and get back to me within 48 hours. It is now 9 days later and I am yet to hear from this MANAGER Nikita.

I have called on Apr 4th and Apr 5th and left a message to be called back specifically at ** and I have not received a call or voicemail from Nikita. The agent I spoke to on Apr 4th and again on Apr 5th both said there was a note on the account stating she called and left a voicemail on Apr 4th and 5th at ** (an old number which I had previously removed from my account a while ago). So even after I left a specific number, she ignored it and called a number that they clearly know was not my contact number.

This manager has been ignoring my calls since we last spoke on March 28th and now expects me to pay $415.48 of charges which I was not informed of from the beginning. And this also includes a bill which I paid in full and have not received service for because the account was canceled on Feb 06 2016 (bill cycle is Jan 19 to Feb 19). So I paid for Feb 7th to 19th and as per Telus I will not get back any money because I didn't give a month notice... Again information that was not given to me at the beginning when I inquired about cancelling my account on Feb 5th. I have called again to speak to Nikita while I have been typing this review and yet again she told the customer service rep that she will call me back at ** in 30 mins.

It is the Telus ports and settings that are responsible the issues. I had a senior manager at Telus today tell me they do not support Apple products! The TELUS webmail server was hacked and my email account and contacts stolen. Subsequent spamming/spoofing has been taking place (since November 2015), using that email account. Over the course of 3 months I have made 4 calls to TELUS support to have this resolved. I have had to repeat the same story 5 times. I was asked the same questions, requested to follow the same procedures, changed my password, had technicians check my laptop, and was told, each time, it was now impossible for it to happen again. As it continued to happen, against impossibility, I was finally told the only recourse was to delete my old email account (13 years) completely (including having TELUS delete it from their servers). The fallout from having done so has been a logistical nightmare, as you can imagine.

A few weeks later more spam/spoof emails were sent out to friends, customers, clients, recruiters, lawyers from that SAME email address. My latest call to TELUS was very frustrating. The same questions, yet again. I had a technician with a sour disposition who basically told me that I was wrong, didn't know what I was talking about, etc. I asked to have my call escalated and was told I would hear the same thing from that person too (again, an inappropriate response). The manager I spoke to was similar in that he kept making excuses or throwing out reasons - which I quickly countered with evidence. I felt blown off and was told he would investigate and get back to me.

I have a 20 year background in IT. I am an IT Auditor - meaning I am not your average computer user. I understand and know what I am talking about. My MAC laptop is free of viruses and was never compromised. These emails were NOT sent from my any of my devices, yet my email address was used and my contact information was somehow collected and used. Repeatedly changing my password did. It help - even when the 'technician' changed it. Even have deleted the email account, in its entirety, these emails continue to be sent out. I am angry, and question the customer support care being offered today. I don't care to have it insinuated that I am the one who doesn't understand what is. Ding said. I was the one not listed to. I would have to vote Telus as the worst phone company ever. What type of company in today's world does not make a policy or effort to allow customers to pay with a debit card, or cash. Their only form of payment is a Credit Card and that can only be a Canadian one and not from the USA. Telus Mobility is a definitely a company living in the past that does not give a rip about customer service or creating a good customer experience. I do a lot of traveling and was late getting back to pay the monthly bill. I wanted to pay the bill in full but was told that they do not accept a debit card. I then tried to pay in cash but was informed that cash was not a form of payment they would accept either. I then tried to pay with my USA credit card but was also then informed that they did not accept that type of payment with pre approval and they would have to go to through a process.

I then went to the bank and paid the bill in full and had the bank stamp the bill showing payment made. I took that to Telus but was told that they could not recognize the payment for at least 2 to 3 business days. What is funny is that all I was trying to do was cancel my service with them before leaving the country again tomorrow. Telus does not deserve to have customers. They are arrogant. The service person told me she was offended when I told her that her company's policies were horrible and they needed to make changes. She told me that she did not appreciate me trashing her company. As an Alberta customer, whenever I want to get help from Telus I always (at least I used to) dialed 403-310-5555, as this always got me to Telus Customer Service. However, over the last few months I started to get a variable long distance charge on my cell bill for a number that Telus indicated was in Winterpark, Florida: 4077403310555. If you are observant the first thing you would notice is that this is a 13-digit number. Weird, right? Then you might notice, as I did, that the last 9 digits make up most of the Telus customer service number, minus the last "5". Even weirder, right?

So I started a few months back by inquiring to Telus Customer Service about this (of course by naively dialing 403-310-5555) and was routinely but somewhat dismissively credited for the long distance charges, despite my insistence that they should have a look at why this weird number, with its suspiciously similar Telus help line digits, kept appearing on my bill.

However, when it happened again in September, I called Telus, using the same stupid number, and insisted that the agent speak to their tech department about this oddity. Sure enough, the agent returned with the techie's answer: This was happening because I was dialing the area code "403" in front of the 310-5555 number, which apparently you should not do, and their system was wigging out and adding "4077" to the beginning, and dropping a 5 at the end, which somehow resulted in a long distance charge of varying amounts, depending on how long I was on the phone with Telus! HOW INSANE IS THAT!?!? To top it off, I'm pretty sure that this 13 digit number is not even a real number, although I did not actually dial it for fear of exponentially complicating an already bizarre situation.

So this call ended with my acknowledgement that I did not need to, and would not in the future, dial 403 in front of the 310-5555 number, and I received a credit for the last billed charge. I hung up the phone. THEN IT OCCURRED TO ME: I had dialed that ** 403-310-5555 to get Telus on that call! I wondered loudly and profanely whether I had gotten charged for a Winterpark, Florida call just now! Curiously, Telus' online account management has the ability to see pretty updated airtime usage - within an hour of placing/receiving a call it can be viewed on your current cycle airtime usage. I waited an hour and went online to view my account. Sure enough, the call I placed to Telus, 403-310-5555, showed up as an 18-minute, long distance call placed to 407740310555, in Winterpark, Florida, for $9.00!

What a **, I thought. Then I began to wonder: Am I the only Alberta customer that this is happening to, and is Telus making money from people who don't catch this on their bills? I quickly called Telus back, foregoing the "403" area code (because I'm a genius don't you know) and asked them to look at my current usage and credit me for the $9, but also to formally request an investigation into the "glitch". Now I feel like if this actually IS a money-making oddity for Telus at least I have made some attempt to bring it to light and hopefully have it fixed so that anyone dialing the 403 area code in front of 310-5555 does not get billed for that ridiculous, and possibly non-existent, Winterpark, Florida number. Isn’t technology grand?

I personally had a cell phone and a internet hub for wifi with Telus. We found that our limit was being exceeded with both it was $265 ish. I asked my husband to call and see if we could increase it a little so we didn't need to pay the extra amount. So he did. 10 days into it, we got a bill for over $900.00. We complained as you can imagine. Then told them to cancel the internet after they told us that they would drop the bill out of the kindness of their hearts to $477. and change. I told them I wanted to drop my cell but they said I still have til Sept on my contract.

This month the bill just showed up and it is over $1000.00 with my cell being $285.00 by itself. We got connected to Xplornet and they came and hooked us up for 50gb we pay $65.00. I am furious as I was hurt at work last July 2014, and my husband is disabled. I have no money coming in and he has enough to pay the mortgage and utilities bare minimum. How do these people get away with this and how do we get them to see the light? We can not pay this. I don't know what to do about it other than to complain about it. Totally taking advantage of us for 10 days. Someone please email me to let me know please.

After 30 years of being a faithful customer of Telus phone and internet services I cancelled my accounts. Reason -- technical issues with either phone or internet services every 3-5 months in the past 10 years. Now that's a lot of service calls. I was no longer willing to spend time and effort of phoning for service (which means waiting in a queue), making an appt. with a service repair person (which means taking a day off from work or life in order for that appt. to occur), and then having to repeat every 3-5 months. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.

The other reason for leaving Telus was the reality that Telus will give new customers a hefty 6 month discount for becoming their client. I, as a loyal customer, get nothing. The value in this for customer loyalty does not make good business sense. I now am in the position of paying off my Telus balance and have learned that I have to pay for a full billing cycle even though I did not use their services for 20 days of that billing cycle. I strongly object to this. It feels like a penalty fee or closing fee that they used to charge in the old days. The CRTC will not allow them to do this now so isn't it convenient that they now use the billing cycle as their method of collecting more money?

Today I have phoned Telus TWICE in ten minutes. Our internet went down AGAIN!! Once every 2-4 months we seem to lose service with the internet. The first time they came out and replaced the aerial cable to the house. The second time 2 months later, they came into the house and told us we should get the higher speed internet. It worked great for 6-8 weeks and then we lost service again and the internet speed dropped again to a point that watching Netflix was unbearable. We were then told that we should get the supreme package. We agreed to it after asking for a month free.

Wouldn't you know it two weeks after the first month free the damn internet crashed again. I spoke to one service tech on the phone and he ran me through all the repair paces again and seemed to get the internet and the phone to stop crackling. I went upstairs and let my family know what was happening and the phone rang again and I got a busy signal and we lost the internet again. Again I called them back and they ran some more tests and I am back online... I hope. I will say that the folks on the end of the line are really good at what they do and I feel like an ass for getting angry at them and I do my apologies before and after the rant. I am curious if more people have had similar experiences and was there something that caused this so I could fix it. The thought of changing companies is also extremely frustrating. I'm glad for the forum however I'm not sure I feel any better.

We have been using Telus for as far as I remember, and when I got married and started making decisions for the household on which telecommunication providers to use, my experiences have pointed me back to Telus every time. Telus was prompt, professional, and most importantly, their technical service staffs were the most knowledgeable. In my opinion Telus blew Shaw out of the water. Then it was last year or this year when I got my first strange experience with Telus. I had to call to ask about something, not that I can remember what it was, but the experience was just so strange because it was so un-Telus like. The person I spoke on the phone was unsure, inexperienced, and not professional. I thought it was an 1-of occasion.

Then this summer I had to order a service for my parents' condo, and again had another strange experience that when I ordered the service online, they did not call me back to set up an appointment as stated online that I should get a phone call within the 48-hour time frame. I ended up calling them myself to set it up. In my last experience I had to phone them again for a billing problem. The account is set up for authorized payment but for some reason it did not withdraw from my VISA, ended up receiving an email for account suspension. I phoned and was put on a 45-min. wait time! That was unheard of. I used to get service so quickly.

Then they phoned me back, and the person I spoke to sounded like someone who just started her first job on her first day. She was inexperienced, hesitating with answers like "I don't know why", "I guess it is", "maybe it's because...", and never offered to figure out what really happened, and sounded terribly unprofessional. I basically gave up talking to her.

I thought of all the great experiences I've had and felt terribly sad about all the sudden changes within such a short time. Whatever happened to Telus? I'm sorry it was for all the worse as far as I can tell. I've been looking for a place to leave feedback on the Telus website and found none, then decided to talk to an online rep to point me a place. I was put on a queue with 47 ahead of me! Wow, I used to enjoy chatting with Telus online rep and I was almost always served instantly. What happened Telus?

Also, I needed a new phone as the one I had was not making any calls, receiving calls, was so slow it was not functional. But because of the suspension history which they shouldn't have done in the first place, I couldn't upgrade after speaking to four different departments. I had to pay out of my OWN pocket to buy a new phone TWO TIMES, not to mention the rude personal comments made by management. So serious altercation in management should be made. They have idiots working customer service. What kind of customer service is that?

Why would I sign up with you if I can be with ANY OTHER carrier and pay for my own phone? Until today, I have not been positively assisted or helped in any way, or experienced they care about a client like me. DONT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY! Once you encounter any obstacle or financial issue, they will turn their back on you as a client. I cannot wait to cancel and give them a piece of my mind once they call requesting to resign. I'm advising all family, friends, classmates and coworkers. A number of years back we contacted Telus and we're told their Mike service was an excellent choice that would fill our needs for our business. After acquiring the service and number of Mike phones we found that the ability of their product and service was extremely minimal. In the Lower Mainland it was extremely difficult in certain locations to use the Telus Mike service product. We contacted the Telus representatives and were told it was a problem with the equipment. After returning equipment for servicing which took 10 days after we were told it would take maximum 2 days the phones were returned. I found the same problems in use and could not at times contact staff members on the same job site. Again we contacted the representative and were told it was equipment problems. I again returned the equipment and again after a lengthy delay found the equipment was still faulty.

We were told to contact Telus directly. We did and had extreme difficult time doing that and after a long period of time we finally spoke to someone as we could only do contact by email. After explaining our situation we were told by the representative of Telus (the Manager of Telus customer service) that they were not responsible for problems in service based upon location. We told the Telus representative that we were given assurance that the product would work and provide the needs of our company which it did not. They said unfortunately there was nothing they could do. As a result we cancelled our service with them and tried to return the product.

We were contacted shortly thereafter to say that we were still responsible for the contract and will be charged accordingly even though we weren't using the service. We explained that we were told the service would work and it was not working. They said that we had signed the contract and they were not responsible for interruptions in their service. We just recently found out that a collection agency had somehow managed to put a lien on our property and we were unable to renew our mortgage until this was cleared. We will be attempting to contact and begin legal proceedings to see how this happened but we needed to clear this lien in order to renew our mortgage.

Our business is based on customer service and performance. If we provided the kind of service Telus does we would go bankrupt. We are not allowed to stand behind a statement to say we're not responsible for our service and performance. Obviously big companies are allowed to act differently than small companies. Needless to say I would never ever use or recommend Telus in any shape or form to anyone or myself. I would prefer to yell or use drums or a tin can on a string before utilizing their services. Telus' position was that once a contract is signed the signee is responsible for the completion of that contract however Telus is not responsible to provide those services which make up that contract. It was their position that they were not responsible for providing the services.

I was a satisfied Telus customer until circumstances required me to make a move out of town. I had entered into a 3 year contract to receive the laptop they were offering as incentive. I had every intention of re-establishing services when I arrived at my new home. I rented a ground level suite in a rural home with utilities included. The house was set up with satellite services which were included with my rent.

Shortly after settling in I received a call from Telus stating I owed them over $1,000. I explained that I was in temporary accommodations until I had time to look around and find something permanent and that I was unable to get Telus services where I was. The CSR informed me I would have to re-establish service before the amount owing for the laptop would disappear. I acknowledged that and said I would not be able to move until summer. The conversation ended with the understanding I would contact Telus to restore service as soon as I moved.

I began to be hounded by the most ruthless collection company I could have imagined. My breath was wasted on each and every phone call. I was treated like a low life cull who didn't pay her bills. No communication was accepted by Telus at this point because they had put me in collection. A new charge was added. Apparently they did not receive the equipment back after my move. My niece and 2 witnesses who accompanied her to drop off the equipment confirmed that is not true. I found that out when I called to establish service at my new house once I had moved. They would not supply service until I paid a sum of over $1,700.00! I was flabbergasted.

I am a single woman on a disability pension. Where, pray tell, would I find that money even if I did "owe" it to them? Re-establishing service would have me complying with my agreement to the contract. I do not owe for a gift received for making that agreement. Telus reneged on the contract by refusing me service once I again had a residence to supply service to. The matter of the "apparently" unreturned equipment is easily enough solved if anyone from Telus will speak to a former customer who is now in collections.

After exhausting what means I could think of to resolve this issue I just put a call block on the collection agency as there was nothing left to say. The worst part is yet to come. This fall I was able to carve out a niche in my area to earn extra income. I would require a pickup. I went to my bank for a small loan to add to what I would get by selling my car. I had nothing negative on my credit file until Telus dropped a claim for over $1700.00. My credit cards are paid up and on time as are my bills and rent. Telus was able to destroy my financial life with this claim.

Who gives these companies that kind of power? Should there not be some legal process involving the accused party before a measure such as this can be taken? Who is going to help me fight to get my credit back after this? Telus has crippled my ability to pull myself up and I hate them for it. The sad thing is there are many more just like me. The loans officer at TD bank was dealing with said she sees it all the time. "Telus has hurt a lot of people with their marketing gimmicks." -- That is a quote from the loans officer.

Beyond being unfairly punitive, Telus has proven they are just plain STUPID when it comes to business. My cable bill paid to Shaw every month is almost $200. This is money Telus would have been collecting from me on a regular basis to this day if they were not so damned unreasonable. Do they really think interest accumulating on that $1700 is going to make me more likely to pay it? You cannot get blood from a stone Telus but you could have gotten $200 per month. What can I do about Telus refusing to honor the contract they entered into with me?...thought so.

I have been a Telus customer for over 20 years, through land lines, TV cable-vision, and the internet services. I had a land line with them for over 20 years that cost me $22.00 monthly which included limitless long distance in BC for those many years. Jump forward to the introduction of the internet and Telus wireless TV bundle services, I moved to a new home in 2010 and have my phone and internet transferred to this new address. Soon after Telus phones me to let me know that I can now receive Wireless TV in my area and they have a fantastic deal for me. I ask them about the introductory offers going around about the x-box package and laptops they are offering for a contract. They tell me I do not qualify for this as I am an existing customer, and for being so long term they will give me a pretty sweet bundle.

Within months, my bill is getting pretty expensive. I cant count how many phone calls later trying to get things fixed started with channels I did not order, but apparently hidden in my new service, (all I wanted was the basic) and was told that after the introductory offer expired, I was to phone in and cancel them. So automatic billing takes over. Thought that was fixed, then my internet connections starts getting extremely slow (not really working most of the time) and another evening spent on the phone, find out that I am paying for the higher level of connection but it is only working on the lowest service. So now I think this is fixed, he credits me a few dollars, but the bill is still very expensive at this time.

Go forward another month and I receive my bill and it is now up at $500.00. In between this time, I lost service on my TV, apparently "Re-initializing" phoning Telus again!! Now had no TV services for 5 days, cause they said I didn't pay my bill, and they would now have to send a technician to reset it!!! Skip forward again to the next weeks, my bill comes in and they are now charging me $80.00 monthly for that land line I have so diligently had with them for so many years. 3 hrs on the phone up to the highest level in Telus they discover (that there has been a glitch in the system that somehow starting charging me that price for my land-line).

I blatantly told him that I could not take one more of these billing issues and would be cancelling my landline and all services (which I had him cancel that evening! and he would make sure that was credited back to me). He then gave me a bunch of free channels to make up for it!!! Well fast forward 2 months and here we go again, getting charged for extra he gave me for free. And I see that they had only credited me 1 month for the $80.00 landline, so I proceed to have all my services canceled and he explains to me that I am bound in the 3 year contract. I explain to him that I have no such thing as they had not included me as a new customer to be eligible for the special packages, as I had Telus services before this. We work out what my last payment would be. I make that payment of $200.00 on March 14, 2014.

So as far as I am concerned, all dealt with. Disconnection takes place and I am free of the several phone calls in a week. Fast forward 1 year, I start receiving phone calls at my place of work, also 5 - to 6 calls a day on my cell, from some collection agency CBV saying I owe over $500, they would not tell me why, who, what or when. I asked them to mail me the information and they wanted my personal information first. I had no clue to what it was about till I paid to get a print out of my credit report, and now my banker is also looking into it.

As of today it is now a $707.00 bill that I have still not received the info on. My banker today found out it is Cancellation fees from Telus!!! Of a contract!!! The technician even came to my house and took the boxes and the remotes!!! I am now submitting my complaints here, The Consumer Protections Agency, and who ever else may listen. Now that I am seeing what Telus and their partner CBV are doing it is absolutely criminal. I have always had a very clean credit rating and this is now causing some very seriously drops in the rating?

How is this allowed to be placed on my credit rating with out CBV even confirming me as the owner, I have never received anything in writing, and the phone calls with them are absolutely the most unprofessional conversations I've ever had. CBV even threatened my banker today that if I care about my credit rating I should pay them $632.23 tomorrow, Feb 23. If that's not threatening I don't know what is!!! Sounds like ransom.

Through an unfortunate series of events after I signed to be responsible for my daughters cell phone sign-up (she did not have a driver's license), she had trouble keeping up with the Telus bills. She was living away from home and accumulated charges she did not realize. I tried at one point to get a cap put on the phone but Telus would not do that. During 2013 Telus would contact me to say the bill was owing and I would pass this on to my daughter. She, being unemployed, did pay a couple of times and I paid the total at one point. Late 2013 the account was shut down for non payment. I was not notified. Shortly after it was sent to Metropolitan Collection. I received absolutely no contact from either Telus or Metropolitan Collection. Had I known about this, I would have paid it for her or made arrangements. The account has now been sent back to Telus.

Now hear this, in May, my daughter insists she made two payments in a Telus store in the Cornwall Mall, May 10th and 24th by cash to the same guy at the counter. In Mid June, she also reported the phone stolen from her car. This store says they do not accept cash and no record of the report exists. My daughter moved and lost the receipts so she has no backup but a witness who went with her. Neither she nor I, will ever sign a cell phone contract again, but will instead pay as you go. Just a couple days ago I got a bill in the mail for almost $600, with my packages it should have been only $200 max. I called to figure this out and they continually blamed me for using the phone in the wrong places (???) and the rate I was paying at those points was $7/minute for roaming...something that was not communicated to me as I took notes while talking the first time around. This is not my first time traveling abroad with my cell so I'm no rookie, but I have never been on a cruise before. After an hour of negotiating all I got was a $200 discount...still going back for more today to see what I can do. Pretty sure I will be switching to Bell as soon as I possibly can. Sick and tired of Telus and all their games.

I phoned Telus, the customer service & retention department, to cancel my internet account. My brother is the primary agent and I am authorized on the account to make all and any changes to the account. I was the one who originally set up the internet account in June 2014 and now I wanted to cancel it. Bessie, a Telus agent in the Calgary call center customer service office, would not let me do so, saying that only the primary agent could do so (i.e., my brother) even though I have set up and later cancelled the account as I come and go for several years now. I asked to speak to her supervisor and was not allowed to do so.

I asked for the company email address, her ID# and/or a telephone number & was told she could not give me any of these. I am so angry. They let me set up or add services but when I want to discontinue the service, I am considered "not good enough"!!!! What is the point of being an authorized agent? How can Telus get away with this?? Is this just a way to stop us from discontinuing services?? And, why are they afraid to even give us an email address to complain to the senior management? Second complaint - I can add services to our account by internet, why can't we discontinue services by internet?

On the first of the month (2014/10/04) our phone line died. We tried troubleshooting our phones, to no avail. We used the Onstar to contact Telus customer service. We were told that our phone number had been "ported" to another service provider. Basically, somebody else took our phone number! No permission had been asked for, no information from us had been given to anyone else, and we sure a heck did not give out any of our personal information over the phone to a "deal" giving company over the phone. Five different calls with five different agents and the bottom line is we lost our phone number... Out of the blue, no consolation prizes.

I am so grateful we only went telephone. I had been so pleased with the service till then that I had considered our internet and TV as well - to get a bundle price. I dodged the bullet!! They are going to put in a letter of protest to the company that took our number and wait for a response. I will be long gone... Hopefully... Now I am waiting for their bill to see what the extras are. I'm waiting to see if I can leave quietly or have to go through the same kind of storms that have been written here by others.

Lesson learned - don't mess with the phone company; your phone number is yours only as long as we say so, and anything can change including contracts, because we just change the rules!!

Over 3 years ago I had a Telus landline. I decided to cancel it because we all had rogers cell phones and we were no longer using the landline. I called to cancel and was told my phone would be cut off on the 30th. On the 1st I unplugged my phone and didn't think of it again. 5 months later I got a bill out of the blue telling me I owed $150 for the last 5 months. This was the first communication I had with them since my cancelling my phone. I called and fought and argued over and over and was sent to collections. To save my credit I made a settlement of paying half and was told if I paid that then it would be settled and dropped. So I did. 3 years later I received a letter from collections demanding the other half. I am mortified. I am dreading this round of fights and feel sick to my stomach. How can this be all these years later?

I did not activate it, I put back in the box. The following Wednesday I opened the box and there was no phone... Just a charger, a battery and a simple card attached to the front of the box. I did notify them immediately after discovering the problems. I have been in contact resolution many times. They have contacted me at my home in Edmonton on my landline at least 17 times, I have saved them. I have repeated the issues to so many people at Telus and still no resolution.

The only reason I changed from Rogers was that I wanted a satellite system at my place at Seba beach Alberta. I had Shaw come out and they said the trees were in the way and I wouldn't receive a signal. The tech suggested Telus or Bell. I contacted a telus and converted all my Shaw and Rogers to Telus. All emails and internet use is dropped more often than you can blink. I've taken more time off work on the phone to deal with these idiots and time off work waiting for them to come to the house to check their lines, etc. that I can't take anymore time off without using vacation.

I am not taking Telus to small claims court to resolve these issues as I can see they will try some scam or debt collection, so I am seeking a court injunction to either terminate this without penalty or make them provide the services. I have heard and it appears true from my experiences that Telus have insufficient lines to operate in the area and when someone calls in, they take services from another customer and round and around it goes so you have to call in almost daily to actually get services.. Best way is STOP USING TELUS... Anyone interested in a class action lawsuit?

I have seen outright fraud by agents placing products or wrong codes just to get the sales. They do not train the agents properly. The team leads are even more stupid because they don't do the work. I used to be a Telus customer, now I'm with Rogers for a good reason. Please read my story real carefully. So here it goes: I've contacted the Telus customer care department on December, 2011 and had a unique offer on my account. The representative on the phone even logged in to my account to verify the offer I had and told me that I can go to the Telus store and redeem the offer. Saying that, on 22/12/2011 at around 11:30 am, went to the store to redeem the offer; they couldn't see it on their system and advised me to call Telus line.

So I've used their phone line in the Telus Store, and spoke with "Sam" who didn't understand English because I stayed one hour explaining my issue about the offer, so he goes and transfer me to some lady who was very disrespectful/rude. I've requested to speak with her manager and she declined to give me the manager and sent me over to the Escalation team and spoke with Pete. That's when all the trouble started. Now read this carefully. I've elaborated the issue to Pete (Escalation's Manager) in which I had to repeat my issue for the 4th time approximately, after being tossed back and forth for over 1.5 hours, missing 2 meetings.

Now it gets intense... The Escalation gentlemen Peter (Pete) spoke to me around 12:30 pm and yelled at me at first (I swear I'm not lying), and said in his words "So you want to challenge Telus, let's take a look at your account for all the credit we ever gave you and reverse back the charges!". I repeat, he said that in quotes and I swear that's not made up. Pete acted as I'm scamming Telus. Then he calmed down, acted politely and told me I won't be able to obtain the offer because it was a glitch on the system and mistakes happen and yada yada. I told him I want to get compensated for the amount of time I spent. He apologized and then he looks in my account history and tells me "You have been under charged. We should of charged you extra, I'm going to correct that and make sure your account is up to date." I'm like "You made mistakes, too bad". He's like "Nope I'm correcting it."

At that point he requested a callback and he called me back and he did actually put extra $400.00 almost on my account CHARGE BACK ILLEGALLY! During that time I had an unknown charge of $390 plus an additional of $150.00, and also on top of that, outstanding balance (late payment) in which I never had in my life with them. That's Theft alright and of course!

Then I filed a report with the BBB and raised heck to the Office of the President. I got a call from a lady from the office of president, she was very nice, listened carefully and at the same time don't want to lose me as a customer. As an agreement we decided to settle this down by canceling with Telus and going to Rogers. Stating that the story continues after a year later, and I'm talking about very recent.

After a year of leaving Telus under mutual terms, Telus decided to send me to Collections for a non-existing account. On 2011-12-27, I have filed BBB

Complaint about Telus and resolved the issue by 2012-01-13.

According to the agreement and I quote with supported documentation, "Kasia ** Complaint Administrator BBB Complaint Department Complaint # ** Ray

**. Dear Ms. **, Thank you for bringing Mr. Ray ** concern to our attention. This correspondence is intended to address and resolve this issue. We have had the opportunity to discuss the account with Mr. ** and we have the following comments. To resolve this matter, and as a gesture of goodwill, on behalf of TELUS and with no obligation to do so, we have agreed to allow Mr. ** to cancel his contract without termination charges. In addition, the charge applied previously by the frontline representative has been credited in the amount of $349.68. Thank you for the opportunity to address Mr. ** concern. This matter is now considered closed by this office. Mr. ** is satisfied with the outcome. Sincerely, Sheila **".

Stating this, I've spoken with Jeff ** (Collection Agent for Telus), email: ** and by phone in regarding to this matter after he continuously harassed my Business line and Cell Phone. I have also emailed him the supporting documentations on December 10th, 2012 and confirmed that he has received the supported documentation and that being said, he has apologized to me on the behalf of Telus Mobility.

Here's the interesting part... I've got a call from Jeff on January 14th, 2013, indicating that I owe money to Telus. He has contacted my Business line when they are on the DO NOT CALL LIST and finally he contacted my cell phone. Told Jeff that "We spoke a month ago about this, what the heck ever happened about file being closed". He hesitated to answer then after 5 minutes into the conversation he pulled up notes indicating in verbally I quote from Jeff, "I've submitted the requested document on December and got a response from Telus closing the request without any comment". I told him what does that mean? He said that they failed to comprehend the documentation which is an illegal act.

Jeff ** asked me to email him AGAIN the supportive documentation and luckily I back everything up, so I've pursued an email to get this settled or legal actions will be taken. I've also indicated that I requested a mandatory follow up with his manager or himself the next day in the morning to get a phone call. Guess what? No follow ups been made, so I called and left a Voice mail to his manager, she never got back to me. Called again on 1/15/2013 and spoke with the Legal Department (so called) with Ms. **. Elaborated to her aggressively about the situation, requested to email her the supportive documentation. I've also emailed her the transaction log between my emails to Jeff and the history of the conversation. Now it's 1/16/2013 and no one got back to me.

Disputes being played with Transunion as Equifax for some reason were understandable and able to remove it on the spot but Transunion is special sometimes. After I sent proof that it's a fraud act that those garbage in Telus are committing they removed Telus off my file. Comes last week around April 15th, I have the ** from a collection agency calling me and trying to scam me. They got some nice verbal legal threats which they ** me off calling my business line first then my cell phone. I told the clown to send me an email and I'll send you the proof. Guess what? No email been sent and today 23/04/2014 checked Transunion and found an inquiry been made but they'll not put it on the account. Those ** are going to be taken to the court for the 2nd time.

PEOPLE WAKE THE HECK UP! Stand up with your rights against those **! AVOID TELUS. I'm with Rogers, yes. I phoned in and asked the agent what my final balance would be so I could pay it. He said he couldn't tell me because there might be some extra charges. My usual monthly payment was $68.00 or so. He said a bill would be processed and I would receive it in the mail.

3 weeks later, I was shocked to receive a letter from a collections company for the final $68.00. I promptly contacted Telus and they had NO answers for me but assured me if it was paid within a certain amount of time it would NOT affect my credit rating. I immediately contacted the collection agency who verified that it will be processed immediately and will not affect my rating. Today, I contacted Telus to order a bundle package for TV, Internet and Phone as I am moving at the end of the month. At the end of the process they stated they require a $375.00 deposit before any action would be taken... I was put through to Telus collections and sure enough they said because Telus Mobility HAD to collect through a collections agency they required a deposit. Just so unfair and completely due to incompetence.

The other thing that irked me is the Telus collections agent stated she couldn't tell me anything else because Mobility and her branch are not joined. Well I said it seems you are from this result. Just a warning to all… I just experienced (through incompetence) a hard hit to my credit rating that was completely unjustified and I have no recourse... no way to fix it. I am not alone. This same thing has happened to many people and regardless of whether you pay it promptly to the collections agency it WILL do same like it did to me.

I had a cell phone contract with Telus which expired in 2008. From that point I let them know I did not want to renew because I was going to the UK, but since that trip was a few months away, we decided a month-to-month would be the best option. So three months later, I was off to the UK, and Telus was paid in full, and notified services were no longer needed. The cell was definitely cut-off and so I felt there was nothing more to do. However, I only stayed in the UK for 6 months, and during that period of time, I was put in the credit bureau by a collection agency for an amount of over $300. I found this out while applying for credit elsewhere.

With my Mom's help, we tried to get this cleared up, talking to Telus and the CRTC but to no avail. Telus responded to CRTC, outright lying, stating they tried getting in touch with me and I didn't respond so on that, the case was closed. Also, in trying to settle the matter, apparently that was acknowledging the debt, it reset the clock in the Credit Bureau and the debt is now well over $1,000. Is there no recourse? What about statute of limitations within the credit bureau? I'm I stuck having to pay the whole amount of which I didn't even owe? Even if it is paid, will the derogatory mark on my credit report be set back to 0 and on there for another 6 or 7 years? I'm afraid to tackle this now for fear of acknowledging it and causing more years of delays in getting it off my credit report, and even perhaps more interest added.

I cannot believe a consumer does not have proper recourse without having to go through this kind of stress or rights as a person. It can't be the large corporations and collection agencies have all the power? Please can you offer any advice as to what I should do? I really want to be part of the solution for changing the way things work... for everyone's benefit, not just my own. This whole credit business is scary enough. It should not cause sleepless nights, embarrassment, humiliation, or be powerful enough to prevent people from pursing, or moving forward with their lives, worrying about garnishments, phone calls from collection agencies etc.

Even an employer might not see you in the same way should he get a call or letter of garnishment. It destroys lives, no matter how small the debt... or in my case... the 'no-debt'. Yet, it is up to me to figure out the system in order to rectify it? I am an average person that does not know how this all works, it hasn't been my field of study, as is the same for most other people. I look forward to hearing from you, and whether or not there is anything I can do to help put an end to this type of detrimental actions by corporations and credit bureaus.

Resulting in myself plus 3 other friends getting a ride to the store by this person and his girlfriend, signing contracts, talking to the agents, confirming there was no money down and no payment for 3 or 4 months. All four of us walked out with new flip phones. My girlfriend also told more than ten girls she knew that all lived in a shelter. They all got phones too.

Even if we were getting billed normally, I don't know how it would be so high in such a short amount of time. Needless to say, we all, the four of us anyways, cancelled the phones, never used them again etc... It has been in collection for years now (CBV Collections). The response from Telus' Privacy department (Karen) is that Telus has the right to ask for any information while the customer has the right not to provide it. In the latter case, they will just refuse to provide the service. In other words, one has no choice but to provide whatever they ask for. Apparently, Privacy Commissioner of Canada has no guidelines on this. I was a loyal Telus customer for years, and continued to support them even as my level of service grew progressively worse and worse. I was told that there were issues with the device I had, so I bought a new phone, no change. Then I was told it was the SIM card, again, no change. Finally I was told that there were issues with the towers in Winnipeg, however Telus doesn't guarantee their service. When I filed a complaint with the CCTS after a family member was in a car accident and unable to contact 911, I was forced to deal with an awful woman by the name of Maria ** from Telus before the CCTS would review my complaint.

This woman lied repeatedly stating that there were never issues with service in Winnipeg and even suggested that I was lying about my calls to Telus technical support where the agents had informed us of the issues with Telus coverage. When I called technical support again, the customer service agent initially refused to allow me to speak with technical support stating that Ms. ** had placed a note on the account detailing that I was not to be provided with any information. I finally argued enough that the agent transferred me through. The agent I spoke with repeated the same information stating there were known issues with the network and I was told that this information had been specifically been given to Ms. **. At this point, Ms. ** refused to return my calls.

The complaint was then sent to the CCTS, which was an utter waste of time. I was told by the representative that Telus had only sent information regarding my calls up until the point I had initially called Ms. **, which of course excluded the calls with the tech support agents that had supported my claim. Telus also claimed that I had refused to speak with them and while I had emails to disprove this fact, I was told by the CCTS agent that because mobile companies had few regulations, they did not have to provide accurate information regarding complaints and the CCTS had no authority to compel them to provide any more information than whatever they had volunteered. My complaint regarding being unable to contact 911 was ignored and I was told that I had the power to simply switch my service to another company if I wasn't happy with Telus.

So basically no one looks out for the customer, Telus can lie and steal from their customers and no one will do a thing about it. Since I switched services, I haven't had a problem with coverage... My advice to everyone, don't go with Telus, they're nothing but thieves.

He said, "They can do nothing. They can kiss my **." He obviously has my home number as it is listed for 32 yrs. He once said, as I answered the phone, "Are you touching your breasts?" I cannot seem to get through to Telus so they can find the number that he is calling from and block it.

My number is on the do not call list, but that doesn't matter as he has gone from telemarketer to harasser. If I cannot get the number, as he can call from anywhere now... This is getting ridiculous and I wonder where he is calling from. Telus needs to help me as this is no laughing matter.

3 months later, 2 billing cycles and online and phone calls to Telus, they have suspended my account, refused to acknowledge my request from July, even though I have provided all information as to who I spoke to, what day and time. Furthermore, in order to now have it placed in 'vacation mode', I have to pay them $278.... minimum on an outstanding balance of well over $330. My struggle to do business with them during our contract was very stressful and so one-sided. I will never purchase a service from this company again... ever. The experience was unsatisfactory which was/is surprising to me since I had been a Telus customer for years. My best comment to describe my experience (Telus BC) would be... I was a loyal customer in the past, felt completely robbed in the present so I won't be around to experience their friendliness in the future. Telus... the future is friendly... What a joke. I have been a customer of Telus for many years, and three years ago, I decided to trade in my regular cell phone for a new Blackberry. I am sixty years old, have only a part-time job and live on an extremely tight budget, so I was very careful to find out what I could about the costs of this change. The young man in the Telus store (at one of the Calgary malls) assured me that it would not be much more than the $35 I was currently paying and I went away happy as a clam until I received my first bill.

Imagine my horror when I found that I had been charged at least FOUR times the amount I had expected. I called right away, and spoke with someone who said I'd been put on the wrong plan and then they proceeded to tell me all kinds of things about Data plans and Gigahertz or some such thing, which I didn't understand in the least. Ultimately, I settled on an amended account that didn't have as much air time or something, and I was assured that would work for me. At NO time, however, was I told that I wouldn't have to pay the full amount of the bill, since it was Telus who had put me on the wrong plan.

Now, imagine my further horror when the same thing happened again. The next bill was not as high, but still much higher than I'd expected. I called again, this time, a bit irate and insisted that someone help me find a plan where I wasn't asked to pay charges that were neither explained to me, nor were they listed on the bills so I could understand why they were so high. Again, I spoke with someone who set up another amended account and assured me that this one would work for me. I managed to pay part of my bill at that time, because I didn't have the money to pay it all.

A short while later, I dialed my phone to make a business call (it is the only phone I have because I cannot justify having two) and, again, imagine my renewed horror, when the call wouldn't go through. In fact, the ONLY phone number that would work was the one that went to Telus. I dialed it, really ticked now - the woman on the other end was less than sympathetic and said that my phone would start working again when I sent them money. At that point, I really became angry and accused them of a mob mentality and of holding my phone for ransom (which is exactly what they were doing). In the end, however, I wound up giving them part of my rent money, because I had to have a phone to do my business. At that point I asked them if there was any way I could get out of my contract, since I obviously had made a mistake and could not afford this cell phone. They said they would let me out of my contract if I paid them in full for it.

As you can guess, that wasn't going to happen, so I asked them to send me text messages in the future to let me know exactly when my bills were due and how much they were, in hopes I could try to keep up with the growing cost. They agreed and it was set up. However, after about three months, the texts stopped for some reason, and I did not notice because I was struggling so hard with my financial situation, and in the back of my mind I knew that the bill would come when it was due. Well, it didn't, and a few months later, my bill was over $200 again, at which time my phone was again hijacked by Telus.

Now, in the middle of all this, I lost my job and was forced to declare bankruptcy. I am not saying that Telus is solely responsible for this, but they certainly contributed. And when I finally got through to them after the latest hijack, the woman (who was some kind of collection person) informed me, that since I was now bankrupt, they needed an extra 150 dollars to restore my phone on top of the over $200 I already owed. I asked her if she understood what bankrupt meant. She was also less than caring. At that point the conversation became a bit hostile on my part, I must confess, because I was waiting for a call back on a new job that I desperately needed and now I didn't have a phone!

Again, she was less than caring and proceeded to browbeat me into admitting that I had to cancel the account with Telus (I assume she has to do this because there is some glitch in the paperwork that might let me out of the debt if they have to cancel). She kept asking over and over, "Are you cancelling your account?" I said, "It seems like you are cancelling it." Then she said, "Are you going to send us the $320?" And I said, again, "Do you understand what bankrupt means?" In the end, literally, I finally said, "I have no choice but to cancel," and she said again, "So you are cancelling your account?" And I said yes.

Now I am getting nasty collection notices from them. I guess they still don't know what bankrupt means. I don't know about you, but I am disgusted and outraged by the pilfering fraud that is being perpetrated on unsuspecting members of the public. As far as I'm concerned, Telus is nothing more than a criminal element using strong-arm tactics to cheat and bully money out of their clients and I would be truly happy to see some kind of Forensic Accounting done on their company.

So I checked around and found Delta Cable would give me more services (phone, internet and TV) for a lot less then Telus. I phoned Telus and told them I was switching and required a final bill. They sent it alright along with everything they could think of and interest. I had ALWAYS paid my bill on time and they had the nerve of doing this. They've lost three customers in our house and a whole lot of unsatisfied customers I know who have been with them for years. They try to lure in new people and complete disregard the ones they have. The main box/PVR is in our living room and nothing else is on, yet when I turn the TV on in the bedroom, I get the message "All HD Services are busy" and it won't even allow you to change the channel.

I have spent more time on hold with Telus in the last six months than I have spent on the phone in the last two years! I thought because of the poor service I had and am still getting that it was a discount! Since this has happened, I have spoken to a few others who have also had issues. They have cancelled and paid the penalties but unfortunately, I do not have the finances to do that.

I talked to lots of representatives at the store and also on the phone, and none of them can solve my problems. Even the high-end person, A. ** from the executive office was simply not a pleasant person to deal with. Here is my story: I've been with Telus for 10 years, I and just replaced my phone a month ago (Feb. 2013). My new phone kept saying "no SIM card. Emergency calls only." And I've been getting this message many, many times. I think the person activating the phone for me cracked the SIM card inserting it. I had to take out the battery and switch it back on, then the phone worked for 2 days, then back to no SIM card status. So I called the helpline, and the person whom I talked to told me I can replace my phone at any Telus authorized dealers.

So I went to the store located in Eaton Centre, Toronto to replace my phone. They told me first, I cannot get the replacement phone since I am past the 15 days timeframe. And second, I have to pay deposit to have the phone fixed ($150) - to borrow the phone for 2 weeks. At this time, I didn't want to pay a cent as I was already being told a different story from different people. They told me it is simple a deposit, I will get it back when my phone is returned within 2 weeks. I asked them to call the helpline, and they told me to call them myself. So I used their phone to have myself connected to Telus helpdesk. I was on hold for 10 minutes, which I expected, so that was okay. But the lady on the phone couldn't do anything except saying “Sorry, you are past the 15 days timeframe.”

As a customer who only bought the phone a month ago, exactly 32 days, that was the dumbest thing to say. Who wouldn't be upset if the phone breaks down in 32 days, and the person on the other side keep saying "past the 15 days?" After like a 30-minute conversation, she suggested for me to get a new SIM card, paying $10. She said she will credit me back with $10 prepaid into my account. I had preauthorized payment going through my account every month, so I didn't need the $10 credit. I asked her if she can just give me the difference into my Visa. Answer? No, she can't, only credit to my prepaid account.

It just seems like they don't care at all about having the problem solved, and only want money. I talked to Georgia, a customer service manager, over the phone. And before I hang up the phone, she smashes it down. She is supposed to be the customer service manager, but that was very offensive. I am very, very disappointed. It was the worst customer service. I just wish I have never bought the phone to begin with. No wonder why people complain so much about Telus, they are the worst company.

'09, we relocated and when I called Telus to have the phone lines moved, the gentleman I was talking to was suggesting some bundles that would save us a few bucks a month. Of course, I said sure to this; after all, I'm a small business and every dollar counts. When I called Telus in Feb '13 to cancel the lines, I was informed that there was time left on my contract and there would be a $700 fee. Naturally, I went into shock and became a bit dazed and confused. The lady I was dealing with advised that the contract went into place in Sept. '12 and was quite rude when I told her I didn't think that was possible, as I would never enter into contract with Telus (having experienced personal cell phone contracts).

I also told her that I was closing the business and disconnecting the phones as I had no money and that if Telus charged me the $700, I would have to see them in court. After I hung up, I went back through my emails for Sept. '12 and could find nothing from Telus or anyone else regarding a contract. I thought there must be some kind of mistake and called Telus back. I talked to a gentleman this time and explained to him what I was told. He checked the file and advised that the contract was actually from Sept. '09 (when we relocated) and that it renews annually. I again advised that I never entered into a contract. He offered to email me the contract and I said yes. A few minutes later, I received an electronic copy of the contract which did not have my signature. I immediately replied to the email and said that as suspected, I did not sign the contract and that I would see them in court if they tried to collect. I have now received my bill and the termination liability charge is $781.47. Has anyone else out there experienced this ridiculous fee for a landline? I cannot afford to pay this.

I believe there is an issue that the public should be notified about. I have been a Telus customer since 2006 and consistently had poor service. I've been in regular contact with Telus and their agents have repeatedly claimed the issues lie with the phones. As a result, I've been caught perpetually renewing my contract. Every new device, the issue remains. I've been consistently without service on a daily basis and when I had a recent medical emergency, I was unable to call 911 from my Telus phone. Despite reporting these issues to Telus, it was not until January 10th of this year that Telus agents admitted in a phone conversation that there were known issues with the service in Winnipeg and there was no resolution to this issue as Telus has no plans to erect new towers.

When I spoke to their complaints department, I was told that although there are known issues with the service in Winnipeg, Telus is not responsible as there is no guarantee of 100% coverage. This includes access to 911. The Telus complaints agent has resorted to lying and now claims that my calls to Telus never occurred and refuses to release me from my current contract. This is in spite of the fact that I called the technical support team at Telus and confirmed that notes exist for the numerous calls I have made. In fact, when I called their technical support team today, the agents initially refused to talk to me. I believe that the public needs to be informed of the issues with the Telus network, including the lack of access to 911 services. People who have these issues with Telus service should be encouraged to contact the CCTS and file a complaint.

All I want to do is use Telus services especially the internet but it's almost impossible to have it installed! First of all, I just moved into a building on Granville street in Vancouver that includes internet/TV/PVR in the rent, but somehow it's my responsibility to talk to Telus directly to have it hooked up (I know that is the building's fault). Well, I contacted Telus on July 28, long before the move, thinking that my ability to use the internet (I need it for my work) would not be interrupted. They said the earliest they could send a technician was August 15, so I had no choice but to agree. They then asked me for my number and said that the installation window was from 8:00 am-5:00 pm.

When the day finally came for the installation, I waited all day, and when it came close to 5:00 pm, I decided to call them. They told me that a couple of technicians were there between 8:00-8:30 am, but I didn't answer their call, so they left! Of course, I was upset and a bit panicked because I needed the internet immediately for my work, so I called them. They told me it was my fault for not answering the phone and it actually cost them $200 to send out technicians. When I complained to them and told them how much I needed the internet and that they should have tried harder to contact me or the manager, they didn't care at all and the guy on the phone actually told me the technicians have a union and don't want to work too much(!). He then said they could come again, but one week later at the earliest! So here I am having to wait another week without internet and losing $200/day!

One of the worst parts is that the manager's number is right there at the front door in plain sight and he is there 8:00 am-5:00 pm every day. Why didn't they contact him because the manager did negotiate installs with other residents? Why do these guys at Telus don't know about this? How long has this company been in business? Also, they don't even bother to ask me for a backup phone number they could use in case I somehow can't answer my phone sometime within their 9-hour window. It's the second time they didn't ask me for an alternate number. I could give them my wife's number, the manager's number (since they are not capable of reading the manager's number above the intercom). Obviously, they don't know what they are doing or don't care. So, I want to warn everyone out there. If you are expecting to have a service installed by Telus, be prepared to wait at least one week, and then wait around in your home all day. And heaven forbid, don't even take a shower or take your phone out of your pocket for a second. If you miss their call, you're going to have to wait for another week at least!

Unfortunately, I don't have a choice or I would use Shaw instead of Telus, but my building has an agreement with Telus. Already, I can't stand them, so we are off to a great start. Before this, I had been happily using Shaw's services for almost 10 years with no problems. If anyone from Telus should come across this complaint, my account # is ** and this installation date was to be August 15, 2012 between 8am to 5pm.

Telus was billing us for Internet and TV usage at the wrong address. Optik TV service kept cutting in and out, reception was lost, channels were missing and would mysteriously return again, volume was missing in recorded shows, recorded shows were lost due to bad reception - all this started from day one and continued 3 months into the service. At the three-month mark, I noticed we were being billed for services at the wrong address. Based on this, Telus was able to break the contract for TV services also due to the fact that the Optik TV never worked properly for us.

High-speed Internet. Again, for the first three months, Telus was billing us for services at **, not our unit! Also, the service was choppy. Internet connection is always being lost, takes 2 hours to upload a photo to Facebook, connection dropped, modem overheating, etc. Three months into the contract, when Optik TV was cancelled, Telus told me I could cancel my Internet services in the future at any time, penalty-free, if I sent back the Xbox linked to the account and this offer was a special acceptance due to all the headaches since opening my account. We agreed to stay with Telus as we were offered a reduced rate of $49 per month for the first six months. Telus also sent me a new modem and sent a technician out to make sure the connections were okay. The technician came to our townhouse and the townhouse on his record was still the wrong one, unit **. He told me that since the units were mixed up, he didn't know what to do. He walked around the perimeter of the living room, looked at the baseboards, didn't touch anything or bend over.

At this point, he was walking around as if on a personal tour of my house! When he touched the modem, he said it was hot and recommended Telus to send me a new one. He then sat in his truck for 15 minutes typing a report. When he came back to the door, he gave me his card and told me to call any time to follow up. One month after giving Telus another try, Internet services have not improved. I phoned Telus to cancel and was then told that I am on a three-year contract and cannot cancel! I pay my bill anyway. Two months into my new contract with Telus, I phoned again to complain about their services. Again, I was told I cannot break the contract but I insisted that my complaint be at least noted on our file. Three months into the contract and my Internet worked properly for two days this month. I called again and was told I cannot break the contract.

I am 99% sure that according to the SOX Compliance Act, it is illegal for Telus to charge me for a service that has not been provided nor had worked properly since the start of the contract. Another month of little to no Internet services, I called Telus again. I cannot cancel my contract but I continue to pay my bills. In May of 2012, I phoned Telus to suspend my services temporarily. I was the victim of a hate crime in May 2012 and had to move in fear of being targeted again. I had no fixed address to give at the time. The Telus CSR I spoke with told me I could suspend my services for $15.00 per month. I explained to him that it was ridiculous as I was not going to be accessing my account at any time and was already fed up paying Telus for a service that never worked. He put me on hold to look into my account history. He came back, apologized for my issues and told me he would credit my account by $30 to make up for two months of the suspension - that was the best he could do so I agreed. At the end of the conversation, it was confirmed my services were put on hold.

On August 6, 2012, I received an email from Telus with my bill in the amount of $346+ for cancellation of my account in July 2012. I phoned Telus and learned that the rep I spoke with in May was wrong - that I actually cannot suspend Internet services, I can only transfer them. I explained to the CSR in May that due to being the victim of a hate crime, I was being forced to move. I had no fixed address so I had nowhere to transfer the account to. He said not to worry, due to the circumstances, he would suspend my account until December 31, 2012. It was further explained to me that I could transfer my services to another existing address. Again, I told this CSR that I had no fixed address; that I had explained this to the CSR in May. She apologized again and told me the previous agent was wrong. I have no choice, I cannot suspend my account, and I have 90 days to give them a new address or to pay them the $400.

Big mistake. I get less channels now than before I switched and to get back the channels I lost, you are going to charge me an arm and a leg. It's what you do. But I will warn all my friends of what has occurred and strongly recommend that they stay away from your sly and dishonest sales campaign to collect clients. All my wife wanted for me was the availability to watch soccer. I have lots of friends and the word will spread, I promise. I'm really sorry I made the change. I just thought you should know. If I could change back today, I would do so instantly.

This morning, I witnessed a Telus vehicle parked right across my driveway while the repairman was occupied up the pole in front of our home. There was more than ample parking about 30 feet behind the vehicle and clear of the street but no, he had to park, blocking access to the street. What if I had to leave for any reason or emergency. He was up the pole at least 20-25 minutes. Shouldn't your employees/contractors be informed politely that this should not happen?

I pay for a 6 mbps internet connection. I am getting as low as .87 mbps and every evening. It is less than 2 mbps, most often around 1 mbps. I have phoned and written Telus but got no response. I had a Telus phone technician look at the system, all to no avail. My friends have the same experience so I assume it is a wide area that experiences the slow speed. I know others have contacted Telus about this problem as well. I have written to my MP and to Industry Canada. There does not appear to be any assistance. When you phone, you are kept on hold for so long you just give up.

I have asked what would happen if a store sold me a dozen eggs but only put two in the carton. Telus does not appear to have to answer. There are no other options available. The only other supplier uses the Telus system. The internet speed during the day is okay. It is only the evening this happens. It appears Telus must have overscribed their services. If an airline overbooks its flights, it seems there are consequences and it has to ensure the customer is looked after. Should the same not apply to Telus, they are obviously getting the revenue and not providing the service.

I have just registered a complaint against Telus with the Better Business Bureau. After promising a refund on my bill for faulty Internet service, Telus continued to bill as usual, adding late fees and other charges, even though they owed me money. I contacted them several times, waiting up to an hour per call to get through.

Each time, I was promised a refund but was charged as usual on the next bill. The final time I tried to reach them, I was put on hold for 40 minutes; and then, the phone rang over 100 times with no answer. I stopped paying my bill, as they still owed me money. Shortly after, they disconnected my phone (which was fine with me as I no longer needed or wanted them). They continued to bill me for three months of full service, even though all service had been disconnected, and then, they threatened to refer my account to a collection agency.

I finally wrote them a detailed letter, explaining what I actually did owe them and a check for this amount. They responded by cashing my check and sending a bill for an additional $268 with no acknowledgement whatsoever that they had received my letter, even though the check was in the same envelope.

The hours I have wasted digging through old bills--trying to decipher fees added and subtracted, taxes on fees subtracted, late fees I didn't owe and taxes on late fees, overcharges and taxes on these charges; and trying to figure out what I fairly owed; not to mention all the time I spent on hold trying to get through to them-- probably add up to a couple of days of my time. And then they don't even have the courtesy to acknowledge that there's a problem.

Telus will never receive another penny of my money, and if there are any future repercussions involving collection agencies or negative impact to my credit rating, I will be seeking legal action against them. Telus has absolutely no respect for their customers. I encourage anyone with a similar story to register your complaint against Telus with the Better Business Bureau.

Three weeks later, it came back and had not been repaired so the dealer, Totem Audio and Video in Smithers, BC, sent it out for the second time. Three weeks later, I get a call that there was water damage and they want $170 to repair it. Since that phone has never been near water, I called HTC and they said I had to talk to Telus about it.

I called Telus and they say I would have to talk to HTC about it. Then Telus told me that there is nothing they can do to help. It will cost me $170 to repair it. Fifteen minutes of research on the internet,15 minutes to replace a $40 memory card and I had fixed the phone myself. I have cancelled my Telus accounts, opened an account with Rogers and will never deal with Telus again. I will also pass on to anyone that will listen to stay away from Telus and their scams.

I have been with Telus for several years, with three cell phones, Optik TV, internet and home phone service. I have two more children that will require cell phones in the next couple years and in all honesty if this is what Telus is to their loyal customers, I will look at other options.

I originally started at one of your Telus stores when I was told they could not help me. Are they not a rep for Telus? I proceeded to call the "Loyalty" line that was a joke. Loyalty? What does that mean to Telus? I spoke to 4 people, Kevin who was very nice - good job, he had said that Telus could drop the $365.60 remaining contract as long as I signed another 3-year term with a phone - which I have no issues with. He asked me which other phone I may be interested in. I hadn't really looked that closely at other phones yet, but had mentioned the Sony Erickson may be one.

Kevin then placed me on hold for an aggravating 20 minutes before coming back and changing his mind and telling me there was nothing he could do. I asked to speak to his supervisor then I was placed on hold for some time and was connected to James, who was nice also. After re-explaining the entire situation again, he offered me 25% off to buy out my current contract...huh? What just happened? I asked to speak to someone that could help me. James put me on hold for over 1/2 hour to speak to a very rude, pushy and plain ignorant Lori who wouldn't even let me explain before cutting me off - this happened several times! I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said, “I will just leave you on hold all night!”.

I waited on hold for another 20 minutes, got fed up and called from another phone while still on hold on my landline. On the second phone I spoke with a girl, Eve, she was nice as well, but still nothing accomplished. Lori/Laurie finally came back on landline phone and said she would have someone call me at my home phone. I continued my conversation on the second phone with Eve, who was very apologetic and was embarrassed that her co-workers treated me the way Lori/Laurie did. Eve noted on my account that I would sign another 3-year term with phone, as long as the current contract was canceled.. So I wait for a call from Telus, on my landline, who knows when, hopefully from someone that is not rude and that can actually help me, while my cell phone is useless.

I am frustrated to find out a $600.00 phone flaked out after 1 year 2 months - companies should stand behind the products they sell. Also, to find out that the phone was refurbished. I confirmed it's refurbished at the Telus store. The Telus store can't do anything even though they sold me a refurbished phone as new. Hmm. Also, I am frustrated with calling the "Loyalty" line only to be told they can help me, then told nope, that it's not happening and staying on hold to find out that the phone Telus actually sold me is not the one I actually have.

Then Telus back peddled because they have no idea what happened. The best yet, Rude Lori - She is probably the best employee you have, because she pisses people off so much with interrupting, condescending attitude that most people will just hang up. Problem gone. Well I didn't. She put me on hold for 1/2 hour, only to come back to say she would have someone call me after I had already been talking with Eve for 15 minutes.

I started with Telus in 2007. At that time if you signed up for a 3-year contract you could get the Razor phone for "free". 8 months into my contract the phone decided that every time I closed it, it would shut off. When I took it in to my Telus dealer, they told me the only way they would replace the phone is if I signed another 3-year contract in addition to the first. There was no offer to fix the phone just if I wanted a phone I would either have to pay for one outright or sign another contract. Of course, canceling the contract wasn't an option because they charge you through the nose for canceling before the contract ran out. And paying for a phone at the ridiculous prices they ask for them was just as bad. Between a rock and a hard place, I picked another 3-year contract. They replaced my phone alright with some **, low-end LG product.

When I ran into some financial trouble last year, there was no way to cancel the contract outright, so I reduced it to the lowest possible plan ($20/month) . Of course, by now I had more than paid for the **, little piece of plastic they gave me to replace my first phone but still no dice on canceling the contract. So, I agreed to the $20/month. What else can you do? Pay incredibly ridiculous cancelation fees, which I mean—really, how does my canceling my contract actually cost Telus anything? Sure, it's a loss of revenue but considering what they are charging and that their net income for 2010 was $1,038 million, canceling my minor contract was not going to effect them any.

My contract was finished December 16th, 2010. My husband and I did some research and found a company that is substantially better than Telus (in every way) and on December 14th we signed up with them. So, essentially I cancelled my contract 2 days early. I received a bill on January 17, 2012 that said I owed Telus $113 and change. When I called to ask why I just got the standard robot talk from the CSR: "You ended your contract early." Yes, I did. I was tired of getting ** by Telus. But to charge me $100 plus HST for ending my contract 2 days early, a contract that only netted them $20/month to boot!

How completely corporate greedy is that? I will never again deal with Telus. I will never recommend Telus to anyone. In fact, at this point I am using every possible social media outlet I have access to in order to inform anyone who will read it that Telus is a major scamming company and to never deal with them. I am also writing a letter of explanation to each of the officers and each member of the board of directors. To start, I'm also planning on writing a letter to the editor of my local paper and I will continue to make noise about this issue until it is resolved. And resolved means the $113 bill is erased and I never hear from Telus again.

On December 20, I contacted Telus Mobility about my cell phone. The phone had received the wrong update pushed to it, and as a result, it wouldn't connect to the network. The CSR told me I could do an Early Device Upgrade. I told him on multiple occasions that I would not pay and the remaining device balance on the broken phone, and if I had to, I would just pay off the contract and walk away. The CSR agreed that I would not have to pay it.

I proceeded to call back a day later and confirmed with another CSR that I would not have to pay the fee on the old phone and that the device balance of $462 was removed.

Now a month later, January 27, 2012, I have received a bill for $579.21, including the $462 fee. I was told I would not have to pay. I have now called Telus 3 more times. The first time I called was January 27. The CSR claimed that I agreed to the fees and there were "notes" on my account saying so. The second CSR said the same thing.

Today, January 28), I called back. This time, after I printed off my bill from the site, it clearly states:

"In recognition of your status as a loyal TELUS customer, we discounted your device balance when you signed up for a new contract."

    The balance reads:
"When you purchased your SMARTPHONE, you had an outstanding device balance on your contract.
    Here's a summary.
Months to go at time of upgrade: 36
Device balance at time of upgrade: $0.00
    Loyalty upgrade credit: -$462.00

    You paid (Dec 20, 2011): $0.00"

When I called and mentioned this evidence, they denied it and passed me off to another rep. This rep's name was Tammy. She was by far the nicest one, but she basically said I should "find my old phone, fix it, and try selling it on Kijiji." I find this not only inappropriate but also not a valid solution. She said there was a misunderstanding and there's nothing she could do about it.

This is completely uncalled for. Those are fraudulent charges, and they won't remove them, even when I submitted evidence of it. They even went as far as reading "notes" of events that never happened. For example, they claimed on December 15, 2011 that I called and asked about a new phone and agreed to getting free Caller ID if I bought a new one. This never happened I called on December 15, 2011 to ask about the device's balance, but I got free caller ID when I said it would be cheaper to pay off the plan then buy a phone outright.

    What can I do?

I moved to Delta last year and had to sign up with Telus, as Shaw was not available in my area. I had several issues at the time of setting up my account and wished that I had cancelled my service at that time. I recently made a call to Telus to come out and wire for a TV in our basement. I called on a Wednesday and scheduled for Sunday, the gentleman that I had set the service up with gave me three time frames: 8-10am, 10-12pm and 12-2pm, we selected 10-12pm as we have a young baby that naps between 12-1pm, and we wanted to have the service completed before putting him down. The tech did not show up by 12pm and we tried calling with no luck getting through. We decided to put our son down as we had another appointment in the afternoon. At 1:30pm, we received a call from the installer letting us know that he had just received the work order and would be here in 5 minutes. We asked why he just received info when our appointment was between 10-12pm, and he said we would have to discuss that with Telus. We told him to just knock on arrival as we had just put our son down and did not want him to wake up by the door bell. Sure enough 5 minutes later the door bell rang. My husband answered and asked why he rang when we specifically said knock. He apologized.

I then called Telus and had my complaint escalated as I was not happy with the fact that no one called to say they were running late and the tech told us he had received the work order at 1pm. One Zaid from customer care called back. I explained the situation and told him I did not feel I should have to pay for the $100.00 service call as they made an error sending the tech out and no call was made to let us know there would be a delay, I explained that I understand things happen and sometimes installers get stuck at jobs but a call needs to be made to the customer to let them know and that in this situation there was an error on their end as they did not even set up for anyone to come out until after my appointment time slot. The customer care agent did not agree with me and told me they don't guarantee any times and they are approximate only and he would only credit $25.00. I told him this was not right as it was clearly an error on their part and he went on to disagree with the feedback I was giving him. I asked to speak to someone higher as I did not like the fact that he was disagreeing with my feedback and he told me there is no one higher than him. I said fine and to apply the credit and I will just contact their head office. After the call I did a lot of thinking and it really bothered me that he did not feel they were in the wrong for the time issue and I totally disagree. If they can come anytime without calling to let you know they are running late, then why would they not set the appointment up between 8-5pm.

I have called Zaid two times now for him to call me back as I don't want the credit. I work in an escalation department for customer service of a very large company and I take customers' feedback very seriously. I feel that if Zaid is in a similar role, he should be as well and not disagree with the customer to save $100.00, in the long run he may have cost the company thousands of dollars from word of mouth.

I think the best approach to this situation would have been to apologize to the customer and recognize that an error was made and take it up with the parties involved to ensure this does not happen to anyone else. Instead he was very defensive and did not want to consider the feedback as he felt like the company did nothing wrong. I will be sharing this experience with everyone I know. I was a Shaw customer and, unfortunately, cannot use their services at this time, Shaw is not perfect and I did have things that came up along the way but it was the way they handled the situation that keeps me inclined to promote thier business.

My overall experience is minus 100. It was time to renew phone contract with Telus Mobility last month August 2011. My wife and I have 2 phones on this account. Mine is the Motorola Charm and hers is the LG. An old phone which had expired on the contract and ready to be replaced. Except she didn't want a new phone because she liked my Motorola Charm. We went to 3 different Telus stores to compare offers, plans etc. Now this is where it gets interesting.

Two stores out of the three said we could easily trade phone numbers without any cost to us. I wanted to get the iPhone4 and simply renew the contract. So just to clarify, I would have the iPhone4 with my number from the Motorola transferred to it, and she would have the Motorola with her number transferred on it. OK? A simple swap of phone numbers, so it seemed. One store said we would have to purchase some SIM cards to do this. All we wanted to do was to swap numbers. Put her number on the Motorola and put my number on the iPhone4.

The next day, I asked my wife to call the Telus Loyalty Department just to "confirm" we could actually do this. Apparently, they are the ones that have the power to swap the phone numbers and Plans. They said "yeah, no problem! And it won’t cost you anything extra! Just go to any Telus store and pick your phone and we'll do the rest“. I thought, cool, let’s go!

When we got to the Telus store in Walnut Grove Langley ("Voted Best 3 years in a row") I told the sales rep exactly what we wanted to do, Swap numbers and get the iphone4. I told her Telus Loyalty said it was fine and wouldn't cost us any extra to swap numbers. She said with excitement, No Problem! So we went ahead with the deal.

40 minutes later after paying for the phone and nice otter box case, transferring contacts from the phones, the lady said, "Oh no, we can't swap numbers! ". I said why? She said, "Let me call Telus Loyalty". OK? So another 35 minutes go by with the sales rep explaining to Telus Loyalty and trying to work some deal out. I'm totally exhausted by now.

All I asked for was to swap numbers and renew phone contract which I previously and repeatedly confirmed, and if I could do this without any extra cost or difficulty. Both the Telus Loyalty Department and the Telus store(s) said it would be "No Problem!” before I purchased the phone, the case and before they transferred all the contacts and spent 1 hour and 15 minutes so far. So now I get on the phone with Telus Loyalty, and they say "Sorry, we can't do this?"

This is Crazy. I'm thinking, now what do I do? I firmly explained to the gentleman that they had told us an hour ago they could do this. They said, "Who told you that?" I'm thinking vividly with passion **! I said "This is Totally Unacceptable". It goes silent for a moment.

He apologizes and excuses himself from the call and 10 minutes later comes back and offers me a deal. Not Service to make things right with a long time Telus client, but has the bells to offer me a "deal". I feel like I'm in a movie. This can't be real. Please make it stop!

So I'm completely exhausted by now after what feels like hours on end, I say faintly to the guy "ok what’s the deal". He says, "Wait 14 days and we'll swap the numbers for you and waive the $200 charge it would cost to switch plans, as long as you go on another data plan.” This is in addition to the plan that they already signed me up for on the iPhone4.

I thought to myself, how could they do this to me after all those years I've been a faithful customer? (10 years or more) Not only did they avoid making it right, but bullied me and squeezed me into a corner to make more money off of me by the time it’s all said and done.

So to make a long story short, I said “OK. So just to "confirm", I'll come back in 14 days and you'll swap the phone numbers at no extra charge right? Waive the $200 fee right? Only if I go on another monthly Data plan right?” And of course the gentleman said, "Yes, that’s right".

So just to protect myself from any misunderstanding, I asked him to make a note of it in the account. He said he made a note of it and everything will be fine and that I have nothing to worry about. So just before getting off the phone, I confirmed once more " so when I come back in 14 days you will have this all noted right?" He Said, "Yes. I said "thank you, bye ".

My phone number was switched with another customer 4 days ago. After 2 technicians came to try to correct it, I still don't have a phone or internet. I was forced to use my "pay as you go" cell phone for all my calls. My complaint is not alone about the poor service. It is also about the hours I spent to try and find an email address to complain directly to Telus. To my surprise, Telus does not have an email address to contact them anywhere on their website. This is contrary to the "Telus contact" website that states that email is the fastest way to contact them. I believe this is false advertising.

When we reached the entrance we got just a sun glass for my two kids (4 and 6 years old). I asked the Telus lady if my little one can also get a sun glass, and the answer was "only if we sign in for their promotions". My little one was so upset, then I asked another Telus employee if I can get at least a promotional bag and I was tols "because I like your jacket, yes".

My family and I are asian descendants, the family before us are not. The first thing came to my mind was that we just were object of descrimination by Telus employees. The family in front of us got the full promotional gift, and we had to beg for it.

I have ongoing issues with Telus's poor customer support. It starting when we moved to a new building, we set up an appointment and had the installer over. There was trouble, the phone lines had been cut from the apartment below. We were told by the technician to set up another appointment which the technician promptly canceled it. I waited for over a week and a half after multiple calls as per usual when dealing with Telus. I was given 4 months free Optiks for our troubles.

4 months later, Optiks TV channels cut off after free service ended with no warnings. I called technical support and was rudely told to call and order the channels during office hours. Next day, I called and ordered the channels and was told I would have the channels in 10 minutes to 24 hours. This is where it gets fun. I've waited till next day, called them, they don't seem to know what's happening. CSRs seems clueless as to what the problem is. I was asked to be called back when issue resolved, They also wanted me to go though the list of channels I ordered for the 2nd time. I waited rest of the day and no call. I called the next day, asked for this issue to be escalated and to be called back. They also wanted me to go though the list of channels I ordered for the 3rd time, waited. I called again as I am starting to get really annoyed and was told that there is an error with their new system. My order is locked in their system and there is nothing they can do until one of their crack troubleshooting teams is on the case, Monday morning.

I called on Monday, same answers was again. I was asked which channels I ordered for the 4th time. I demanded to talk to a manager or a senior tech. I waited for nearly an hour, finally talked to someone was given the same old story on how my channel order was stuck in their system. There is nothing they can do till their crack team can fix my issue. Cutting them some slack, I waited all day Tuesday, no calls. I waited till noon today, issue still not resolved. I asked to get this escalated, again, I have to wait for a call, maybe in 4 hours.

Seem like they are intentionally keeping me in limbo, well the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I'm posting this on my tweet page, Facebook and any forum I can find, nothing better then a little advertising. Anyhow, thank you for letting me blow off some steam.

I called to voice my displeasure and was told by their Rep who I spoke with that they would drop my Internet price and it would remain that same price for 'as long as I remained with Telus for Internet service'. I asked to verify 'No Increase?'. I was told no increase, basically, they lied to me.

Well, the case is very simple. I had Shaw services--phone, Internet, and cable--for the last four years, but their services are getting quite expensive. Then, I saw the promotion that Telus is offering Optic TV+high-speed Internet+Telephone, and I would save around $45 with much more services. I called and scheduled for the 18th of January but after two weeks of waiting, nobody showed up. And as I called, they checked the dispatch and said that I should give them another two hours. Still, after that, nobody showed up.

I called again and they said that nobody was home. They told me that they left a note but nothing was there. I was at home all day so they were almost calling me a liar. I spoke with the escalation manager named Denora who seemed not too familiar with the case so she promised to call me back the next day with all the information--but she never did.

After I called for about four more times, she called me back stating that she is looking to see if Shaw would be releasing the number. Anyway, a week has gone by and nothing happened. Now, I ask, what do I have to do to have their services besides calling and not letting myself spend all this time chasing escalation managers and so on? All this is very bad for business. Telus may be cheaper but they have to really change their ways to do business.

Since then, I have divorced my second wife but she decided to use the line and we attempted several times to have it put in her name only. After 3 screaming matches with the various representatives, they told me that the problem was resolved. So what I did get back yesterday was a message to call Telus back (they left no return number) to give my second wife permission to not list my name with hers. We have been divorced for 8 years. You would think that after 8 years they would get it right. On top of it, I received an email from her stating that they were trying to get her to pay bills for my Canmore number (**). There are long distant charges that belong to me that are on her bill.

Most times he would ignore it; however, there were times when he would answer it. When he answered, there would be a pause so he would hang up as he knew it was a telemarketer. After receiving these annoying calls daily, I called Telus mobility last night and requested that they block that number from his cell phone. I was told it was not possible. I asked if we were being billed if he answered the call and was told yes. I said, “Are you telling me that someone is able to phone me whom I do not want, and I am being billed if I happen to answer the call?” The operator said yes.

He then said, “You are not using up all your minutes anyways.” Needless to say, I was stunned. He then said that we could change the number and the fee would be waived. I asked him if it was Telus mobility calling and after a few minutes he said that he checked and it wasn't them. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he gave me a 1-888 number to call. I called and discovered it was the residential line for Telus. After waiting on hold for 25 minutes an operator asked me what I wanted. Once I explained, she said you need to speak to Telus mobility and put me on hold again. After a while an operator asked me what I wanted.

I went through the same explanation and was told they can not block that number; however, they would waive the $15.00 fee so we could change the number. I told them that it was not acceptable and a lengthy argument followed. I hung up. Today the same number called. I answered it and after a pause a woman started talking.

I told her that they were not to call this number again. I asked who was calling and was told it was on behalf of Telus mobility. I told her that the number was on the Do Not Call list and that a complaint was submitted. Once our contract is up, I will be looking at other servers. I cancelled the service in October and they again sent me bill for Internet usage for November. I have called them numerous times, has not received any concrete reply. They put me on hold for hours to talk to an agent and nothing happens. I am feeling cheated and robbed. On the night of the 15th November 2010, I had the most unpleasant experience with Telus Customer Loyalty and Retention Representative. The situation was all due to a hardware switch for my wife's mobile phone. Due to the differences in the hardware, the network was also being switched from CDMA to HSPA, and my wife lost certain aspects of the original promotional service plan. However, to mitigate this, Telus gave my wife similar (and in some cases better) service options for free.

The problem is that these options were given for a temporary period of one year. So, in essence, what was infinite has now become temporary. Having noticed this right away, I called back to see if Telus could at least extend these options until the end of her contract term which would be another six to seven months. I was directed to the Customer Loyalty and Retention Representative, and that's when things went from cordial to hostile to offensive.

The L&R rep talked over me, the rep had no interest in hearing what I had to say, only that my option was to pay another $10 to switch back to the older CDMA phone to get back the original options or stay as is. I tried to tell the rep that it was not made clear to me that the additional options would be temporary when I made the switch, but, after I had waited patiently to listen to the rep and I started to talk, the rep would continually talk over me saying that there is nothing that can be done.

If the rep had some patience, respected that we were discussing a business matter which is bound by contract, recognized that we were discussing a matter that had direct affect to my personal finances, and practiced a level of professionalism, given time, I would have come around to understand. Then, things got worse when the rep became sarcastic and made joke. The rep asked if my phone was working okay and if I could hear her clearly because the rep felt like she was repeating herself. This was from a customer loyalty and retention representative!

And then, I asked if she was being sarcastic with me and making jokes, to which she replied no. No? Really? I don't understand how a representative working in the Loyalty and Retention department can be so driven to make a customer dislike Telus. I spoke with five reps that night including the Loyalty and Retention rep, and the other four front line reps were very cordial, patient, and friendly, although somewhat incompetent.

The Loyalty and Retention rep was the only one that was hostile, full of attitude, self righteous, sarcastic, rude and unwilling to listen. This could be one of several things--poor training, poor hiring, bad personal day for the rep (which is still no excuse), I was the last call of the day before the rep clocked out and wanted to get off the phone as soon as possible (which is still no excuse), or a combination of above. Whatever the reason, I have lost all desire to stay with Telus at the end of the call.

Due to the contract, my wife is still bound with Telus for the next year and a half, but at the end, we will strongly consider other options. This dislike of Telus was direct result of conversation with Telus Customer Loyalty and Retention department representative. Go figure.

Around October 29, 2010, Telus incorrectly cut off my internet service. I spent four to five days trying to figure out why my network had disappeared. In the process, I took some of my equipment to my Apple dealer because I thought that the Time Capsule or other part of my Apple equipment or programs were not working. Then, I returned home and tried to access my wireless net work and it still would not work. Next, I paid for a service call from my Apple dealer and he checked everything out and it appeared that my Telus Modem was the problem.

We tried to contact Telus on November 2nd but after 40 minutes on hold we gave up and left our number. We were called back by Christie and then found out that Telus had turned off my internet and network. She told me that they could get me back on stream without coming to the house. Later that day, all was restored. She was great to deal with. When I asked for some compensation for my loss of computer and service costs ($173.59), I was asked to call Telus Loyalty and Retention in Customer Service. She gave me Report # 1027418437 as a reference. That's where Elmo came in who refused to let me speak to anyone in Retention after grilling me as to who I was and how I came to the conclusion that I deserved any credit or compensation. He then told me to contact Telus on the 12th when I was to pay the next Telus bill.

I really resent what happened and the way the problem emerged and the lack of Telus responding to my situation in a timely and appropriate fashion. Telus caused the problem. They should certainly let me talk to someone to deal with it or contact me and deal with it. I have been with Telus for many years in Alberta and BC and believe that I have been carelessly dealt with.
