    I applied with SmartBiz for my second PPP loan as the company used for the first, and which was amazing, Customers Bank, was not processing the second round. The process for submitting all of my information was easy and then.. nothing. My application got to their Smartbiz review step and stayed there. I did get one message saying my application was missing my FEIN and logged in to fix it, but the FEID was right there on the application so someone at their company was obviously confused or incompetent. You cannot reach them by any means and they tell you not to try. As far as I can tell their only purpose is to gather all of your financial and personal information. Avoid them at at all costs.

    Everything was via email and it changed. There were two to three different individuals that I've been in communication with in the time period. At one point, it became a little frustrating because they asked me to send some documents and I did that. Then they said that I didn't send all and I told them I sent the exact thing that they requested. They reviewed it and then they never came back and say anything other than, "You've improved," and moved on to the final stages. This was all within the past month.

    Then they told me earlier in June that my application was incomplete and I sent the wrong set of payroll documents. I told them that I sent everything. They said that I sent the first and second quarter for 2002, and then something that's for 2019. They told me to send the full year for both years. But they only wanted the first quarter and I sent them more than the information. I sent those to show comparison of the first two quarters of 2020 and 2019. Then, they came back and said, "Approved," and moved on. They never acknowledged the error so I thought that was a little odd. Nonetheless, the loan funding helped us maintain staff because it's been a trying year. We were in the hole and were looking to have to furlough an employee or two. It came in right in time when we were having to make the tough budgetary decision.

    I applied near the end of May for a 2nd round PPP loan. I would have used my bank, Prosperity, but the SBA was already declining loans by them. It seemed SmartBiz Loans was one of the few places left that was still taking applications and still had the ability to get 2nd round PPP loans approved by the SBA. As a result of this, I think, they were swamped way beyond their expectations and had trouble even coming close to keeping up with email, much less phone calls, etc.

    It only took 3 days for my loan to get approved and receive an SBA #, but then the real waiting started. My loan was "in funding" for about 4 weeks. That's unusual for a loan these days, but it makes sense given SmartBiz Loans being swamped. They answered my emails each time I emailed, but it took a few days for them to respond most times. There was a problem with my loan funding name information, and it took and extra 10 days to fix it. The funds did, finally, arrive in my bank account. SmartBiz Loans, although slow, was courteous each time I contacted them despite being swamped. From what they must have learned from this massive PPP loan process, I suspect they will be one of the fastest loan sources around once the PPP madness is over. And it remains to be seen how helpful they will be during the loan forgiveness process.

    I almost kind of wish I had not gone with SmartBiz. When we first did the first loan, we put one information in there and it came back saying that we put something else. They had funded me, and we tried to email the correct banking information. They approved the loan and sent it to the wrong bank account. We sent them emails trying to get somebody to call us to get it corrected. They ended up sending the money back because the information didn’t match. The last of my social was wrong, and a number on my account number was wrong. So, we sent multiple emails. Nobody ever responded. They reached back out and said, "Just reapply." We reapplied. They said it was gonna be funded. I'm supposed to be getting funded some time this week. It was like $20,600 and something. Then, on Friday, I got another email saying that I wasn't eligible, and I'm trying to figure out why. There's no reason why I didn't get it.

    I have applied for the ppp loan with an error in the email. My loan was approved but I never been able to sign the contract because I enter a mistaken email. They don't ask you to confirm a email or number. I tried to reach out to them but they don't pick up. They don't respond to emails either.

    There were no hiccups with SmartBiz. It was fairly easy to work through. The funding decision was made really quickly. It was just the time to funding was a little bit longer than I had expected, and I don't know if that had anything to do with the PPP process itself or with the final institution that was the lender. But the funding we got through SmartBiz was great. We worried about the people that I have working for me not having to cut back their hours and stuff to keep things going. Being in the service industry that I'm at and especially in architecture, sometimes it's a really long time before my clients pay. Last year kind of took anything I had kind of backed off to do it. So going through SmartBiz was very helpful to get us to the point that at least I could breathe now. Then I could wait a little bit longer until my clients pay me and I can keep the employees on and going.

    I have been approved by Customers Bank on 4/23/21, and I haven’t heard anything from the company nor can I see any of my documents on my account. I’m not understanding why, and what’s the issue, I see that my name is on the federal public list and no one from SmartBiz is reaching out to me to update my account.

    They approved and funded my loan but I never received funds. Called and emailed them and they will not responding. Finally got the bank to tell me that Smartbiz made mistake on the paperwork and I would have in 1-3 days. Well it's been over 2 months and shown funded 3 times. Now it says declined. This seems to be the way they do people after a complaint is made against them. I have put in several complaints to SBA and BBB with no results so far. Now it's too late to apply with another lender since they don't have any money left for PPP. I am very angry because I really needed the help for my business and expected payment to come after I signed my documents.

    Denied for PPP loan 1st time right away with no explanation as my company qualified. Denied 2nd time after "in review" for 2 months for no explanation and was unable to apply as the timeline expired. No one to call, just a terrible business that ruined people's businesses.

    I submitted an application for a PPP loan on 3/29/21. After a couple of weeks I hadn't heard anything about the status of my application. I tried to call them, but all correspondence has to be via email. I emailed them and still got no response. I emailed again after 6 weeks and never heard from anyone. I received a generic email on 6/3/21 saying that the PPP ended on 5/31/21 and my application did not get approved before the funds ran out. There are reviews on here that state that people that applied after me got funded. My application never got to the review stage. Poor service. Don't waste your time with Smartbiz.

    I recommend everyone to be careful with these people or this company since I made an application with them for a PPP loan in February and after many emails and a lot of personal information of mine they ended up telling me 5 months later that they were very sorry but my loan application It could not be done because the funds ran out, they could not write to let me know that in time so that I can deal with another company that is more serious than if it respects the clients, I found out that after many emails that I sent them someone deign to answer and tell me that thanks for believing in them. I could not get the loan.

    April applied for my PPP, I am a wedding photographer. You can put that together as to why I should have been approved and funded. Called, emailed SmartBiz and the Bank, Customer's Bank dozens of times to no avail. Now they will not, after several attempts, withdrawn my app from ETRAN and SBA, they are holding my already SBA-approved funds hostage so no other bank can approve the PPP. This is criminal. They also never asked for additional paperwork that they therefore may have then approved my app with. I cannot believe this is legal. The PPP is still in ETRAN sitting there, active and unfunded. I would not trust this company, they are unresponsive and don't even have a phone line for customer service that is answered by anyone but a recorded message. It is now June, and still no reply, no withdrawal, no funding. This is just awful and killing small businesses!

    SmartBiz Loans did really well. They didn't make us insane with emails, phone calls and text messages like many other companies did. When I worked with their rep, it was either via text message or email and the process was good. The only trouble I had was I never wrote down my first PPP loan information and that was a struggle. We couldn't have gotten the loan if I didn't have the confirmation numbers. Other than that, it went easy. That extra 20,000 we got has been able to help us stay afloat. We're able to buy more of our supplies upfront. If we buy in bulk, it's always going to be cheaper.

    I did reach out to people and told them about SmartBiz. It was a very quick process for the exception that they asked me to do the DocuSign. They said it shouldn't take long. It should take only 3 to 7 days but it had already taken about 2 to 3 weeks. They sent me an email saying that they had mistakenly put the wrong name and had to adjust my name on the documents. I had to go back and sign them again. From there, it was 3 to 5 days then they sent me the funds.

    The company I obtain ownership in applied for the first loan in to wit. I personally filed all the documents requested by Smartbiz and was given the VERY SMALL LOAN relatively quick and with very little to no hassle in to wit were very grateful for. Now, on the other hand I file for the second round of PPP with the EXACT SAME identification documents as the first time with the ONLY THING different being I used my tax documents on my first one from 2019 as I was supposed to do and used the 2020 tax documents for the second round. Brothers and sisters, it's not Smartbiz who is actually helping us small business in this pandemic. It's our government and our taxes we have previously paid in.

    Smartbiz is just doing what they charge our government to do and might I add are doing a very poor job at it. We can't get any replies to our emails, no one will explain what we can do to change whatever is needed and can't get anyone on the phone. After carefully thoroughly reviewing many of the reviews posted, I have took it at liberty to stand firm for my company and get what has been placed available by our government and is rightfully ours to claim and receive so I am asking for anyone who would like to be placed into the law suit I am filing on Wed May 26 2021 to please feel free to contact me at **. I as well as 2 attorneys have reviewed all the criteria and guidelines submitted by the government when the PPP came into effect and my company as well as I'm sure many many others qualify for it and yet for some reason untold were being discriminated against.

    Smart biz in my opinion one of the worst companies that could be appointed the job to oversee and be able to make judgment as to who and who does not receive the PPP that our government made available for us to receive. Their customer service is of very very little to none and their word is even worse. I feel as though they are stealing our money due to saying to many of us YOU'RE FUNDED on our dashboards and shows the amount then later comes along with the message claiming that our identities are false.

    Any and all whom want to get in the lawsuit is welcome to and at no cost to you. Any and all costs for the legal counsel will be paid at the end of the law suit of false advertisement along with a few others I'm asked to not announce at this time. Everyone stand for your company and claim what is rightfully yours to keep your business open and helping the communities in to wit you do business in.     I would not even know where to begin! It has been one painful and heartache with this company. I began my loan application about a month ago. After waiting for several weeks, I was finally approved. After approval, my loan documents were sent to me for signature and then awaiting funding. Once I saw the funding was taking more than its average 5-7 business days wait. I tried multiple times to email or call this company and never got responses back. The few responses I received were automatic and I could never get a hold of a live person. Anyways, that is not the main part of this horrible experience.

    After signature and being approved and basically just waiting for my FUNDS, I RECEIVED A DENIAL LETTER after I was already APPROVED!!! Which makes no sense, I have urged multiple voicemails and emails trying to figure out how this happened? The excuse was that I failed bank requirements and in which THEY CAN'T EVEN DESCRIBE TO ME WHAT IS THE ISSUE SO I CAN FIX IT! OMG I would not wish this experience on the worst of people. It has been so horrible.

    I have been non-stop crying and worried about losing my business and now more than ever because I was counting on those funds especially after receiving approval. HORRIBLE! I wish I would have known or researched this company before proceeding. Now it is too late and I think funds have ran out. Extremely disappointed in this business and I hope someone finds the balls to sue them one day!

    PPP loan was approved on 4/22/2021. If you or your readers want to contact them dial 800 number. When he gets done talking as usual overwhelmed with applications hit button 1 and you’ll hear a tone leave message and then when done hit button 4 sends as urgent. If you want to see about your loan go to ProPublica and type in ppp approved loans. Type in your info. Mine was funded on the 22 of April and still have not deposited into my bank. It even tells you the bank name so I called them and the manager saw my loan and even told me it is approved so I still waiting for the deposit.

    I had applied for our second draw of the PPP through Smartbiz. The sign up process was easy. I had a quick response to my first question. We have been waiting over 2 months for any word. Even though we were told "our credit was better than average". (Our first PPP took only 2 weeks). I have send 3 emails that have gone unanswered. according to their website they are "verifying the information you provided to ensure a smooth closing".

    I applied for a PPP loan. My application was approved on April 18th 2021. Signed my documents on April 24th. Still haven’t received my payment and Smart Biz has no Valid contact #. They don’t respond to emails. Starting to think I was scammed. I will hire an attorney to look into it.

    I applied for my 2nd PPP. After uploading everything I emailed support requesting status. Michael responded and said I have been approved and to wait 15-20 days for funding. After no further updates I emailed support several times and received an email back just now stating they were not able to secure a loan for me??? I’m either approved or not. There is no phone number to call and speak with anyone. I have to send 3 emails to now get a generic response?!? I’m filing a complaint with the SBA and hopefully after a few of us complaining we can have their ability to process SBA loans taken away.

    I was Googling trusted companies to apply for a PPP loan through. SmartBiz was at the top of everyone else. They have great reviews. They have real people reviews. It really mattered because you put personal information out there, and it's hard to ask for help. I feel like I could trust a company to have my personal information and that they would understand.

    I was a gig worker for so long and really fell on hard times due to the pandemic. I'm trying my best to get back to what some sort of normal would be. Being a gig worker, you keep everything because of taxes and all that, which is so fun at the end of the year. SmartBiz has an easy and fast process. I received a response pretty quickly that I was approved for that PPP loan. The funds were in my bank within a week from the time I applied. So, it was great.

    The only thing is I applied for a second draw. I applied on April 22nd but I haven't gotten any response. I get the same automated email saying that they're still reviewing my application. I'm sure everything's really busy so no one is available to answer a call. When I call, no one gets back to me. That's the only downside. I would like to know the status of my second application.

    After waiting for our non-profit's second draw PPP for months, SmartBiz is now going to tell our nationally known non-profit that they are trashing our application because they "cannot verify" our identity. REALLY? They made no effort to ask for anything after claiming they had everything they needed. Sent me emails to be patient, but never requested an iota of additional information. And now PPP's have run out. We will be litigating the funds out of that worthless company for their arrogance and lack of consideration. What a piece of... Captain Ron **, President.     Update!! From the time I signed loan documents to the funding of the loan I only received 2 email responses after several emails. I finally received a phone number to call that actually answered, that took four phone calls, one rude customer service person, then finally a customer service person that took the time to explain and check on the file, after that it was 4 days to funding, but no notice it was happening, it just showed up in my account....

    My experience started out very well and quickly become bad! I applied for the SBA PPP Loan on 4/23/21 and everything was processed quickly, by 05/01/21 the SBA PPP loan documents with a loan number were sent and I signed that morning before 8:30 am. After that nothing. Like a lot of other people I've called and the contact phone number is useless. I've emailed them over and over, no response. I emailed the Bank that it was supposed to be funded through, providing the application number and the SBA Loan number, no response. I have signed the loan documents for this loan and am responsible now for the loan, but have not received the loan. I thought this company was a reliable company...I believe I've been really stupid....

    I finalized the application, immediately got a pre-approval response, uploaded all documents, but my loan overview has not moved from the "review process". I have emailed 4 times, attempted to call, but NOT ONE response or update. Ridiculous.

    All these good reviews are fake. Funny how they all sound alike, the bad ones seem more legit as everyone I’ve talked to about Smartbiz has had issues. No response, no loan papers for PPP. I was supposed to sign already according to email I received and now can’t get anyone to respond to help. Funds have run out but was able to get my application in to a few other lenders as originally this was the only place I applied to but all the bad reviews and horror stories I heard about them got me nervous. As excited as I was to be able to get applications in with other lenders it does me no good until Smartbiz withdraws my applications.

    I’ve tried so hard not to have to get a PPP loan and I’m literally drowning at the end of my rope. I was relying on this loan as without it everything I worked for and built up will be gone. I can’t believe they are playing with people’s livelihoods like this. My blood pressure has been thru the roof, heart pains and every day panic attacks has become my new normal. I don’t understand why they can not respond especially because my email was flooded with responses before I applied.

    I read that they are making money off every loan so they submit all of them, get the PLP number then take their time as they know we can’t go anywhere else. Please please please let me know my status. I understand it is busy and I appreciate all the hard work but I deserve to know what’s going on. If I got a straight answer or response from the lender with an approximate time I’d be relieved even if it would take time. I just want a response where I stand.
